- 2:24the show tonight. It's going to be a wonderful episode. So let's get
- 2:29started. Chantey Read had been on a journey marked by a relentless pursuit of
- 2:34independence. Her books, Love Letters from God and I Am the One are
- 2:39too powerful for us not to talk about. You can use them as a
- 2:44guide or companion through challenging times. And most of the time people just read
- 2:49books to read them, but these are two books that you're not going to
- 2:52be able to put them down. Chante takes a new approach to spiritual awakening
- 2:57and she plays she plays an essential role in self discovery and just flipping through
- 3:01it, you're going to understand what I'm talking about when I say she plays
- 3:05in a central role in self discovery, because you're going to discover yourself throughout
- 3:08both of those books. Please welcome a real Georgia Peach, Miss Shante Read.
- 3:15Hello, Hi Shantay, how are you. I'm doing awesome? That's
- 3:23good. I'm so glad that you're able to make it tonight. Think you
- 3:25think you thank you? Thanks for having me being a writer is not enough
- 3:31for you. You are also a speaker, an advocate, and a minister.
- 3:36You are described as being a driving force, a force to be working
- 3:39with. How would you describe yourself in one word? One word? I
- 3:46think when I was thinking about it, how do I describe persevering person?
- 3:55I believe in persevering. That's pretty much what my life has been. A
- 4:02person somebody who's tried to persevere, perseverance. Tell me you said your life
- 4:11has been like that? Give me a little something. So I was born
- 4:16legally blond. I grew up in rural Georgia where I was the only person,
- 4:23at least in my class at that time, that had a visual impairment.
- 4:28So I was kind of the one that, you know, they looked
- 4:32down upon, and I wasn't able to, you know, told I've even
- 4:36had teachers that told me I wasn't smart enough for college, that I would
- 4:41never live on my own, and I think I always think about, you
- 4:46know, the little train that were that said I think I can. And
- 4:49so that's how I've lived my life. When people tell me I couldn't do
- 4:53something, it's always been my drive to persevere and show them that I'm gonna
- 5:00show you I can do it, since you think I cannot. Okay,
- 5:03and you've been showing them every since. Huh, that's been the goal.
- 5:08So I hope that you can find that teacher. I'm not gonna say rubber
- 5:12facingto it, but rubber facing it. She should be ashamed of herself being
- 5:17a teacher educator to tell any student that they're not going to make anything of
- 5:23themselves, they'll never go to college. You know, how was she felt
- 5:26if somebody had told her that she would never be an educator? You know?
- 5:29And you know, people should teach their children better. I'm not going
- 5:31to sit there and say kids will be kids parents and adults will be adults.
- 5:36That's the way that I can put it, because children are still learning,
- 5:39and they're actually learning, you know, from their parents. Your writing
- 5:44has taken many on a journey of self discovery, in which one of your
- 5:47books involves examining your life and figuring out what's missing. Oh, that's an
- 5:54easy one for me. That one is the one that is called I Am
- 5:58What You See. And that book took me a while to write because I
- 6:03was in the state where I didn't want to. I had to go back
- 6:09and deal with those things that happen in childhood that I have been avoiding all
- 6:14my life. I'm still working through some of those, but just that initial,
- 6:19you know, realizing what caused me to deal with depression, what caused
- 6:26me to you know, be so hard on myself. And that book right
- 6:31there is where all that was poured into. Wow, we have Patricia says,
- 6:38hey, hey, hey, oh my gosh, I am currently reading
- 6:41your book now. Now. Patricia reviews books, so she's probably looking at
- 6:46it right now. She's going to be reviewing it. And she's one of
- 6:47my sisters that also has a podcast. Now, I don't review books,
- 6:50I just enjoyed them, which is your book, but she does. So
- 6:55she's reading your book. That's telling you something. I'm quite sure you already
- 6:58know that you're something. Just like I said, you're a force to be
- 7:00reckoned with. So you'll probably be getting a call real soon from Patrice with
- 7:03that book that she needed look letters from God. Was it a person?
- 7:09Was it personal at a time when you needed God the most? Or was
- 7:13it about God's gift to you of eternal life? Or was it writing this
- 7:16book a way of describing the Bible. It was more so about my relationship
- 7:23with God, as I did mention, I've struggled with depression all my life
- 7:27and it took me to just now to realize, you know, because being
- 7:31a Christian, you always hear, oh, you know, God gets you
- 7:35through it. You know you're gonna you always think, oh, I'm not
- 7:39gonna have to deal with this. Well, if we understand as even in
- 7:42the Bible, you know, the illness or whatever it was that Paul was
- 7:47dealing with, he told him that my love is sufficient enough for you.
- 7:51And so, as someone who has dealt with depression all my life, you
- 7:58know it never goes away. And so for him to let me because being
- 8:05you know, dealing with my disability and dealing with somebody that you know that
- 8:11led me to struggle with the way, you know, people telling me I'm
- 8:13not smart enough. And so him letting me know that I was worthy of
- 8:20love, that's his way. That that's the way he did it for me
- 8:26through letters, and then not only you know he would give me letters,
- 8:31but I would write letters to him as my father because I didn't have that
- 8:35earthly father. Wow. Well, it sounds like your God, our God,
- 8:41has spoiled you, and I'm so glad that he did. He spoiled
- 8:43you in a way. We gave you richness, richness in the way that
- 8:46you write. And it's just so many people that's going to pick up this
- 8:50book, all of your books. And I think you said you have five
- 8:52books this how can you give us the titles of your books? I guess
- 9:01we lost the full moment here. He yes, I was saying, you
- 9:05said you have about five Can you give us the title of your books so
- 9:09others can can pick up those books? Just like here? Yeah, can
- 9:15you hear me? Put that thing? Hello? Yes, I'm here.
- 9:20Can you hear me? She's having some audio problems, so I'm going to
- 9:24just reiterate something Hello, talking about can you hear me? Now? Gosh,
- 9:31I'm so sorry. No, you're fine, You're fine. This happens,
- 9:35This happens. It happens all the time. Hello. She's trying to
- 9:39get back on. I can see her, but she can't hear me.
- 9:45So audio is just just you know, going down and whatnot. But she
- 9:50is from Atlanta, she is currently living in Texas. She is I think
- 9:54the author of and like I mentioned in the beginning, she is just an
- 10:00awesome person. She's doing so much. She did share with us that she
- 10:05was born and I don't want to say blind, and that's her words that
- 10:09she used. And she says that she has a disability. For me,
- 10:13I say an inability, an inability to do certain things, but it doesn't
- 10:18stop her. She mentioned that there was teachers that told her that she would
- 10:24never go to college and that children, you know, some children are this
- 10:28way, that they were cruel to her. But she's an author, she
- 10:31is a minister, and you just heard what she had to say just a
- 10:35few minutes ago, so that should put you on point with exactly who Chantey
- 10:39Reed is. She's just she's just relentless. Like I had mentioned, she's
- 10:43a speaker, and that's something that I want to talk to her about as
- 10:46well, being a speaker and an advocate. I'm dying to find out that
- 10:50she's an advocate of What is her platform with advocacy. I'm quite sure it's
- 10:56a strong platform. I did tell her that we do have miss Patrice Sprimble,
- 11:03who is a reviewer. She reviews books. So she did mention that
- 11:07she was currently reading her book. Now, Patrice, if you're still there,
- 11:11which book are you reading of hers? If you can put that in
- 11:16a chat, I can let her know which book of hers that you're actually
- 11:20reading. She did mention that she has a book called I Am the one
- 11:24and the other one is The Letters from God, and that's what we were
- 11:28talking about before she went off the air. She's really trying to get back
- 11:33on. If she's unable to get back on for tonight, what we'll do
- 11:37is we'll continue the show and we'll talk about you know this young lady,
- 11:43maybe she's back. Can you hear me? I am. I specifically put
- 11:48my phone on. Do not disturbing, That's perfectly okay. I was just
- 11:52giving them a recap of those who have joined us late, and also speaking
- 11:56to miss Patrice to just find out which book of yours that she was reading.
- 12:03She might have stepped away for a moment. It's that time of the
- 12:05year. We're all cooking for Thanksgiving, so and forth. And I don't
- 12:09blame him, because that's exactly what I'm going to do. Once we finish
- 12:13he I'm going to get up there and try to do what I can to
- 12:16make Thursday a wonderful day. But getting back to you, I mentioned,
- 12:20or I had mentioned, we were talking about the Love Letters from God.
- 12:24And I was saying that I believe that He has given you so much to
- 12:28do and to handle, and he knows that you are the one that can
- 12:33do that job. Your book, I Am the One, is a collection
- 12:35of poems she to be read aloud or experienced silently. I would probably say
- 12:43both. I know, specifically, the one that really sticks out, the
- 12:50poem that's the last one in the book, is called she Doesn't Remember,
- 12:54and I would probably say that's one that you would definitely probably want to read
- 12:58silent because it's I was raised by my grandmother. She now has dementia.
- 13:05So it's to the point that she won't even speak to me anymore, which
- 13:09is very hard. But for me, I think it's a way for God
- 13:15preparing me to deal with her, you know, physically no longer being here
- 13:20first, because I don't know how I would have dealt with that. Has
- 13:22she just you know, just not been here all of a sudden. But
- 13:26you know, the the one solace that I do have is I was able
- 13:31to spend my fortieth birthday with her right before she was diagnosed, and so
- 13:37I hold that that memory very precious to me. And that's the that was
- 13:43the final poem in that book, and that's how I knew that was the
- 13:46end for that one. Wow. I often wondered why people write poetry.
- 13:52Do you think that you have to figure out the meaning of a poem or
- 13:54should it just be felt, something that you just feel, because some people
- 14:00look at words or maybe experience certain things. But then some people just have
- 14:03a feeling and they just go with it and they just they can just spit
- 14:07it out, like you know, just sit it out, spit out the
- 14:09words and they put it on paper. Yeah, for me, poetry is
- 14:13felt. I love words, and when I write, sometimes got to give
- 14:18me a word that I have no idea what it means, and I literally
- 14:22have to look up the word to see what it is, and I always
- 14:26chuck a wink does that with me? But I'm a person I don't have
- 14:31like you know, Stanzas, I just write. It just comes out how
- 14:35I feel. So there's like no specific format that my poetry is in.
- 14:41Okay, all right, Well, it's good to know. What is one
- 14:43of the best things that someone has said about your poems? I would say
- 14:48recently, I did. I like going to events and trade shows, and
- 14:54I have one lady, you know, she purchased a book from me at
- 14:58the show, and she emailed me me and let me know. You know,
- 15:01she had been putting off writing and my book inspired her to, you
- 15:05know, finally take God up and start writing that book. And that,
- 15:09like men, not so much to me that you know, it inspired her
- 15:13to do what she's been putting off doing. That must be a wonderful honor
- 15:18for someone to tell you that that that they wanted to write, but after
- 15:22reading what you've written that it inspired them. I'm gonna ask you something.
- 15:26Don't be a little spoiled myself right now. Can you one of your poems?
- 15:31Oh? I was like, that's the one your grandma or I would
- 15:39love to hear one. I think the one that I always because I always
- 15:46tell people that's something I struggle with and working to get better is being you
- 15:52know, able to speak it out. Well. You know what about freestyle.
- 15:58We have somebody here which is my producer, saying freestyle, whatever whatever
- 16:06is on my heart's on your heart. Now everybody out there is listening.
- 16:11She's saying whatever's on the heart. But don't go writing it down and trying
- 16:14to get it published, because it's on here first, it too Okay.
- 16:21Life is a journey. Life is a life is a journey. Life is
- 16:26a test. Through this life, we all must we all must understand that
- 16:34we are blessed. Even in the hard times, the times we feel alone.
- 16:41God is always with us. We are never on our own. And
- 16:45the times we're broken, and then the times we're afraid, He's always with
- 16:51us. Like a lamp shade. He covers us, he protects us.
- 17:00He's our our healer, and he defends us. He loves us more than
- 17:07we could ever know. And through his love we are able to grow.
- 17:12We're able to heal, We're able to thrive because He depends on us to
- 17:21survive, to lead those who don't know him. Let them see his love
- 17:27through us. We're all the only Christ that many may see. So let
- 17:36them see their love, His love through you and me. And that's from
- 17:42the heart. Oh my, I asked you earlier, do you think that
- 17:47you have to figure out the meaning of the poem or should it just be
- 17:49felt? And you set both And I get it now of why you say
- 17:55both, because I get the meaning of it. I just got it.
- 17:57And it's saying somebody saying snapstep snap, but it's something that I felt and
- 18:03just feeling. I got a blanket on me right now because I stay cold,
- 18:07but this is not cold from what you just spit out. And he
- 18:14chose the right person. He chose the right person and that was beautiful.
- 18:18And again I told her if I don't go writing down what she just said,
- 18:21because that belongs to her. Yeah. The reason that I tell you,
- 18:26the reason that one popped up is because one of the questions you were
- 18:30asking it was mentioned about people who don't believe. Well, living in California,
- 18:36I met a bus driver. He was actually on the voice, but
- 18:40he was telling me that when I was just sitting speaking with him. He's,
- 18:45you know, driven around many Christians who you know, cursed people out,
- 18:49who you know, talked about people. And I was the only person
- 18:53that actually spoke to him in love and that was more. That was more,
- 19:00you know, I was showing more of Christ to him than he had
- 19:03seen Christ before. And that's what a lot of people don't get. You
- 19:07know, Yes, we have you know, there are certain things that we
- 19:11have to do as a Christians, but we have to be able to show
- 19:14His love and not you know, because we don't realize who's looking at us,
- 19:19right, I definitely get it. You know, sitting there at one
- 19:26time, you self publish your books. Now you're all with a publishing company.
- 19:30What are some of the most important things you've learned about self publishing.
- 19:36I would suggesting anybody start self publishing first, because you understand the process.
- 19:42Once you self published, and then you go to a publisher, you understand
- 19:48because like even with the ones that I published through the publisher, I had
- 19:52already you know, had them edited before I sent them to their editors.
- 19:59You know that there's things that you don't think about as the writer that that
- 20:07need to be looked at. And understanding that process before you go with the
- 20:12major publisher. I think it's very important. Yeah, please listen to me,
- 20:19because I've read some books and I'm not an expert, but I know
- 20:25when I read something, I want to read it to understand what I'm reading.
- 20:27And I've read one particular book and I just shook my head and I
- 20:32said, well, maybe this is the way that they write. And I
- 20:37would definitely say so. I could never do. Yeah, my first book
- 20:42I just released, I didn't do anything. And I think that's important to
- 20:48understand because now I know, you know, when I go back to edit
- 20:51it how it needs to. You know, flow, there's a flow like
- 20:55even with you know, when you're writing, whether it's poetry or anything,
- 21:00and you just write it, but there needs to be some type of organization
- 21:03for people to get it. Yeah, and that's why the editors are so
- 21:07important to have. But you have some people just so anxious to get their
- 21:11book out and say, oh, I finished it, I have my manuscript.
- 21:15This is what I want. I know what I want because I wrote
- 21:18it, and they send it out. But if that's your first book,
- 21:22I would advise that you get it edited, have somebody else look at another
- 21:26set of lens. It's always a great thing to have. I guess some
- 21:30people may be setting their ways where they figure that I don't need anybody to
- 21:34tell me what I need to be doing because I'm writing and it belongs to
- 21:41me. That's all, well, and do that's great. But you have
- 21:45people. You're writing for people to read your stuff. You're writing for the
- 21:51readers to be either entertained or either you're giving them some kind of information or
- 22:00you're just giving them something just to read. But you're writing for them,
- 22:07right, some people, you know, I don't know people do whatever it
- 22:11is they wanted. They put their books out, and I've read some wonderful
- 22:12books, but that one I just had to go through it again. I
- 22:17said, I don't know if this is this person's first book or not.
- 22:18I haven't found any other, but maybe they're using another name by now.
- 22:23But it was just I'm not gonna say it what was horrible. I'm just
- 22:26saying I just saw a lot of things that should have been shifted around in
- 22:30there. But maybe that's something they're experiencing. That's the way they wanted to
- 22:33talk about it. So you know, I hope that that person is listening
- 22:37because you know, hey, advice is yeah, and that's the time you
- 22:44know you you have a progression. And like I can say, I know
- 22:48for me that my writing has definitely elevated since my first book, and that's
- 22:52what you'll notice, Like you know, as you start to go through them,
- 22:56you should see a progression. Yeah, you ge growth in many writers.
- 23:00And I hope that person don't stop writing. You know, that was
- 23:04your first one out and that's great. You should be excited about it.
- 23:07It's your work, is your name on that book. Just just go to
- 23:11an editor, Go go to a community college, speak to a professor at
- 23:14one of the other universities or something, and just ask them if they don't
- 23:17mind editing your book. And sometimes they may charge a little something, but
- 23:21it's worth it you m so just go for that. You're an advocate and
- 23:26a speaker. What are the key issues you advocate for and do any of
- 23:30them involve community outreach of social justice justice initiatives. I am a disability advocate.
- 23:38As I mentioned, I'm someone that has lived my entire life with a
- 23:42disability and I had to learn how to advocate for myself. So it's important
- 23:48for me to help young people know how to advocate them for themselves early.
- 23:55And so as far as reaching out, I had mentored young young ladies before
- 24:03right now in the current Houston area and also when we lived in California,
- 24:07we started my spiritual sister and I started a nonprofit and back in California that
- 24:15we actually relocated here to Houston called Diamonds Do Brunch. And so the purpose
- 24:22of that nonprofit is to help how to bridge the gap between what we say,
- 24:32seasoned and young ladies, because there's such a gap in this world today.
- 24:37You know, everybody's doing their own thing, and so it's important for
- 24:41us to help them know, you know, there are commonalities that we can
- 24:47help each other grow. And so actually with that agency, we just did
- 24:51our first cheer we're doing working with cheerleaders and so we had our first tryouts
- 24:57on Sundays. So not only will they be able to do something positive,
- 25:03the goal is to help mentor them to keep them going in a positive direction.
- 25:11Well, so, can you repeat the name of that organization again?
- 25:14Diamonds Diamonds do Brunch? Is it d o do? Uh huh d o?
- 25:22Yes, Okay, gotta look that one up. It sounds like it's
- 25:27something. Okay, question though, when you said that that you also are
- 25:33speak Do you speak to informal do you speak to motivate? I do both.
- 25:38It depends on you know, what's acts to me. So I speak
- 25:44if people, you know, want to know about living life with a disability,
- 25:48I can definitely speak on that. And then if you know, if
- 25:52they're just needing somebody to motivate, Hey, you know I to speak on
- 25:56what I've gone through. I do that also. Okay, Wow, See
- 26:02she's a speaker, she's an advocate, she's an author. What are some
- 26:06of the wait no, you just mentioned that, But tell me how did
- 26:10you cross over to different avenues and stay so grounded you know, from going
- 26:14from going to the other and you stay with it. Some people just the
- 26:18thing and then they'll jump out of that and go into something else. They'll
- 26:22start something else and they'll jumping. But you've seen them how then course over
- 26:27and just stay grounded the way that you know, the thing that God showed
- 26:32me that that helped me do that was when He showed me that I you
- 26:37know, we always hear, oh we have a life purpose. Well,
- 26:40our purpose in life is not one dimensional. So the job I currently work
- 26:47at is as a customer service representative And when I tell people, I learned
- 26:53I had a lot more patience for young people than for older people. But
- 27:02customer service, you know, just speaking and speaking to different type of people
- 27:07and just being able to speak life into them and also have them speak life
- 27:11into me as well as you know, that's part of my goal. That's
- 27:18what He has me doing, not only you know, doing it for my
- 27:21job with my business, profer your wisdom where you know, go sharing my
- 27:26books and speaking publicly. So that's how you know, it all ties in
- 27:33because everything we do. It's part of our purpose in life, whether we
- 27:38realize it or not. Everything works together. Well, you know, I
- 27:45haven't heard many people say that they work with younger people, and they also
- 27:48been around older people, but the younger people or who they can relate to
- 27:52more. Some people feel as though relating to the young, especially with this
- 27:56day and age, they're at a loss, you know, and some people
- 28:00have given up on them. And it's wonderful and refreshing to hear that you
- 28:04have not. So that's that's great. You're also a minister. When did
- 28:10you know you were chosen? Well that I never knew. I didn't know
- 28:15I was chosen. It was just my pastor was like, okay, you're
- 28:18taking this class. And I didn't even realize it was to become ordained.
- 28:26But God is so important in my life. I knew it was gonna happen
- 28:30eventually because we you know, back in California, we led youth services.
- 28:38So up until I was, you know, based in California. I joined
- 28:44that church back in twenty fifteen, and you know, up until twenty twenty,
- 28:48when COVID happened, we ran services. So I had to speak every
- 28:52fifth Sunday. Wow, that's well. Like I said, you were chosen
- 28:57and you didn't even know it. But there you go. How important is
- 29:03ministry to you? It's fundamental. I mean without God, I don't know
- 29:11where I would be. The thing my my church family always says, this
- 29:15guy kicked me out of out of Georgia because leaving Georgia forced me to get
- 29:22out of my comfort zone. And had I not been forced out of that
- 29:26comfort zone, I wouldn't have I wouldn't have known who I was. I
- 29:30wouldn't have known what he called me to do. I wouldn't have had the
- 29:33confidence to do it. So he speaks, and when he speaks, everyone
- 29:38listens, at least they should. I know I do. I'm scared not
- 29:42to. You do so much. What role does prayer play in your daily
- 29:48life? In ministry? Prayers fundamental? I mean I can't go. You
- 29:56can't, don't. I don't know how you can go without it? How,
- 30:00No, No, it's fundamental. Yeah. With that said, you
- 30:07must be reaching out to help all the people going places in your path.
- 30:10Ideally it would include both believers and those who have yet to know Jesus in
- 30:15your hand and saying, hell, let me help you take the next step,
- 30:19how does that work when people question their own faith? I mean,
- 30:26and even as Christians sometimes you know, we all go through stuff where you
- 30:30know, and that's the thing, you know, Like I mentioned before about
- 30:34speaking to I worked with people who were atheists, who were non believers,
- 30:40and it was always funny to me, like they all knew to come to
- 30:44me, Even those who said they didn't believe in God would come to me
- 30:47to ask me to pray for their family because they knew, you know,
- 30:51how important that was. And people see how you live. So that's why
- 30:59I always say, you know, you think they not paying attention to Like
- 31:03I mentioned about the cursing and you know, being hypocritical. People see your
- 31:08walk, and when they see your walk, they know if you are who
- 31:15you truly you say you are, that's what they see. Well, you
- 31:22know, just I asked you again earlier about your poetry as far as it
- 31:26just being felt in something you experienced. People I believe feel you, and
- 31:33that's when they know to come to you, because you're just so comforting.
- 31:37I'm feeling comfortable just sitting here talking to you. It's almost as if we've
- 31:40had conversations before. It's not that I would be oh my god, it's
- 31:44almost time to get off of here. I wish you would harry up or
- 31:47anything like that. And I've never really felt like that anything. I guess
- 31:49that was on it, but for you, particularly right now, I'm feeling
- 31:52that comfort too, So I'm understanding where those people are coming from when they
- 31:57feel so comfortable to be to talk to you. And like I said,
- 32:01you were chosen, and you were chosen for a reason, for maybe many
- 32:05different reasons, and it's just it's wonderful to sit here and talk to you
- 32:09and to hear this coming out of you. So again I'm gonna say thank
- 32:14you again for just taking me on this journey with you. You mentioned some
- 32:20of the challenges that you've had. How were you able to overcome so much
- 32:23adversity? Definitely my faith even when it was not where it is now,
- 32:30you know, knowing that, Okay, God, I know you have me
- 32:34here for a reason, you know, And just like I mentioned before,
- 32:38knowing that, Okay, people think I can't, I'm gonna show them that
- 32:43I can. And that's always been a driving force for me. But I
- 32:49also have to say with that comes this year, well not just this year,
- 32:54but back in twenty twenty. I actually had to learn that I had
- 33:00been so forceful in that manner, you know, I had to realize that
- 33:05was also a former pride of refusing to accept help when I needed. So
- 33:09we have to learn that everything has has there's like a balance between that.
- 33:17Oh did you mentioned balance, because I'm going to ask you that next.
- 33:21What are some of the most important things that you learned about work life balance?
- 33:25Who you definitely have to have a work life balance. Now somebody's calling
- 33:31me. You have to know, you know, be okay with taking that
- 33:37time away, because especially with me working in customer service, it can be
- 33:45very you know, I take calls where we get literally cursed out for something
- 33:52that we can we can do absolutely nothing about. So you have to be
- 33:58able to, you know, walk away and know they not is not is
- 34:04it not towards me, It's just towards the situation. And so spirits knowing
- 34:10have in my faith in God is what helps me to be able to have
- 34:15that balance. Well, they need some of that when they come in there
- 34:19to you, because you know, some people just come in off the street
- 34:22and they already have an attitude just set in at somebody sitting there supposed to
- 34:27be helping them, and because they can't find whatever it is they need to
- 34:30find, or can't do the thing that they need to do, or had
- 34:32to come back for some other reason, you're the first person that's on their
- 34:36attack line. So absolutely, definitely get it. You have a personal brand.
- 34:40What are some of the most important things you've done to build that brand?
- 34:45One moment, let me let them know. So they called me one
- 34:51moment. Sorry, No, that's fine, that's fine. She's she's spiritual
- 34:57all the way around, ladies and gentlemen. She is spiritual, and it's
- 35:00it's such a pleasure. And I'm back. I'm so sorry. But you're
- 35:06fine, You're you're you're are fine. It is, it is okay.
- 35:10It's about to know. You have a personal brand. What are some of
- 35:15the things that that you have done to build that brand? Definitely networking.
- 35:22Uh, and that's the weird thing. I struggle with it, but that's
- 35:29the biggest thing. That's how I met miss Angela, you know, just
- 35:36and especially now, social media is such a big part. So you have
- 35:40to really be on social media. God had took me off for like a
- 35:45year, but doing this, it's like you have to kind of be on
- 35:51social media. So that's kind of where I'm really focusing my brand on now.
- 35:58I want to be able to go to more trade shows and you know,
- 36:02go nationally, but I haven't been able to do that as of yet.
- 36:07Okay, well, you know it's coming. It's definitely coming. I'm
- 36:09definitely gonna be seeing you around and listening to you on the radio and opening
- 36:13up a magazine and there you go. Tell me something about yourself that even
- 36:16you are most surprised about, Oh, doing this being on the podcast.
- 36:27Man, me with being shy and not like being on camera, so being
- 36:37able to and I think, you know, even with being a public speaker.
- 36:42You know, it's definitely out of my comfort zone. But I know
- 36:45that there's a reason for me to do it. It's not about myself,
- 36:51but it's about helping somebody else, So that that would definitely probably be the
- 36:57biggest surprise for myself that I'm doing And this, Well, let me ask
- 37:00you, is this the first podcast you've been on? It is not,
- 37:06but it's still I don't I wouldn't take it as being your first because your
- 37:12handle on it, you don't appear to be shy of me. Your hands
- 37:15on yeah, question the questions and just dealing with everything everybody else deals with.
- 37:19Yeah, and I actually have my own, which is Chante's Corner,
- 37:22so that kind of you know, helps with that too. So that's why
- 37:27I'm just saying in general, getting on camera speaking to people, you know,
- 37:32it's when does your show air? My podcast it airs? Well,
- 37:39I'm coming up on my finale now, so I do it once right now.
- 37:44It's probably going to be more at some point, but right now it
- 37:47airs every Saturday. And I had six episodes this this time, thank you.
- 37:57And so this was my first season where I actually head I guess,
- 38:00so that's surprise that I guess. That would be a surprise for myself too.
- 38:05So you're doing it all. You're doing it well, tell me something
- 38:09about your even your have yet to learn? Hm hmm. You sing in
- 38:21the shower? Do you do you take take the take the hair brush and
- 38:30sing around? Do you slide across the floor in your socks? Let me
- 38:35see, Because I'm a singer anyway, so of course I sing and sing
- 38:39everywhere. Something that's I don't think I really have anything that I can think
- 38:47of tonight, ladies and gentlemen. So you are learning a lot about her,
- 38:54and you're also want to be checking it out on Chante's Corner and it
- 38:58does come on on Saturdays time. On Saturdays, it premiers at twelve and
- 39:04noon. Okay, there we go, there we go. What do you
- 39:07think your mission in life is? I actually think I'm doing it. My
- 39:15purpose is to inspire, encouraging uplift, which is the theme of my podcast,
