- 0:00Speaker 1: Basketball is back it was a great look great night
- 0:03Speaker 1: last night nba opening night we had three games but
- 0:06Speaker 1: i gotta talk about the the biggest game of the
- 0:08Speaker 1: night it was banner raising night in new york city
- 0:11Speaker 1: and the 76ers your 76ers ruined it for the knicks
- 0:15Speaker 1: with a awesome awesome win for the philadelphia 76ers everyone
- 0:19Speaker 1: was excited to see this team last night and shady
- 0:22Speaker 1: i'm all ready to say it I think the Sixers
- 0:25Speaker 1: are the best team in the East already.
- 0:27Speaker 2: After one game, I'm way too excited about this team.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Your opinion on this team. First of all, big toast
- 0:34Speaker 2: to them Knicks. Got the rings and things. Congratulations. We're
- 0:38Speaker 2: on to next year.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:39Speaker 4: And if you look at this game, it was easy
- 0:42Speaker 4: to see who was the more dominant, better team.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 5: And I think this is probably the best starting five
- 0:47Speaker 5: I've ever seen.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Ever.
- 0:49Speaker 5: I'm just being honest. You can look at this. The Warriors...
- 0:51Speaker 5: The 2017 roster?
- 0:52Speaker 4: 2017, 2018.
- 0:52Speaker 2: That was a great team. The Bulls teams. The Bulls.
- 0:56Speaker 5: But I like this roster right here.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You're taking them over anyone.
- 0:59Speaker 5: They can do everything. They got the size.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I thought I was over it.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:02Speaker 5: And you always think, what's the weakness? There's no weakness.
- 1:05Speaker 5: We play defense. Super high Q.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 5: On the basketball court, we can score with the best
- 1:09Speaker 5: of them.
- 1:09Speaker 4: We can slow pace. We can play fast. Our bench
- 1:12Speaker 4: is tough. It's going to be dangerous this year, man.
- 1:15Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I love the take, Shady. I can't get there with you.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But I do think, like, I genuinely am curious. Who
- 1:21Speaker 2: is beating this team in the East? And I want
- 1:23Speaker 2: to run through some of the teams in the East.
- 1:25Speaker 5: All in the East?
- 1:26Speaker 2: All in the East that could compete with this team.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And we'll start with the team last night. We get
- 1:31Speaker 2: to the playoffs. We get to an Eastern Conference Finals.
- 1:34Speaker 2: You taking this Knicks team over the Sixers? Because I
- 1:37Speaker 2: know we saw one game last night.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Only one game.
- 1:39Speaker 2: You said it. Where's the weaknesses in this starting five?
- 1:42Speaker 2: And even the bench looks really good, too. Would you
- 1:44Speaker 2: take the Knicks? Would you entertain that at all?
- 1:47Speaker 5: My number one player in the whole NBA is Brunson.
- 1:49Speaker 5: So let's get that straight.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You've said this.
- 1:51Speaker 4: But if you look at the Knicks last night, if
- 1:55Speaker 4: he can't score and get going, who can?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Hopefully Cat.
- 1:58Speaker 4: If he stays out of foul trouble, OG for time
- 2:01Speaker 4: to time. If you look at the Sixers, anybody can
- 2:03Speaker 4: go off. It looked like last night.
- 2:05Speaker 5: You know what, Bron? You can go at 60% here. JB,
- 2:09Speaker 5: you go hard. Tyrese Maxey, you can go hard. And B,
- 2:13Speaker 5: you can take it easy.
- 2:15Speaker 4: It's going to be a game-to-game type of decision who
- 2:18Speaker 4: takes off.
- 2:18Speaker 5: For the Sixers. We have that type of talent.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You do.
- 2:21Speaker 5: I can't see the Knicks beating them.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I can't wait for a playoff series between these two
- 2:25Speaker 2: teams because I think it'll go seven. But I'm going
- 2:28Speaker 2: to take the talent over. I mean, hello. Do you
- 2:32Speaker 2: think this is the Eastern Conference Finals? I do. Now,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I believe that.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I like the Celtics, but I think something about them Knicks, bro.
- 2:40Speaker 5: They fight, man. And they got a leader in Brunson.
- 2:43Speaker 2: What about the Miami Heat, who also brought in a
- 2:45Speaker 2: major superstar in Giannis Antetokounmpo? That's starting five now. Giannis Bam,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Klay Thompson, Davion Mitchell, and Andrew Wiggins. I think very
- 2:54Speaker 2: similar to how I felt to the Sixers before last
- 2:56Speaker 2: night of I just want to see it. I want
- 2:59Speaker 2: to see this heat team. I want to see what
- 3:01Speaker 2: this looks like. I don't know if they have enough shooters.
- 3:04Speaker 2: They do have arguably the best coach in the sport
- 3:06Speaker 2: in Eric Spolstra. But again, I'm a little bit more
- 3:09Speaker 2: hesitant because I just need to see it. I was
- 3:12Speaker 2: a little bit more of a believer in the Sixers, but.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Are you entertaining Heat over Sixers?
- 3:16Speaker 5: When I look at it on paper, Bam, Giannis, it
- 3:20Speaker 5: looks good on paper.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They'll be the best defensive team in the league.
- 3:23Speaker 5: When I hear it, it sounds good. But, brother, I
- 3:27Speaker 5: got to see it to believe it.
- 3:29Speaker 4: And I think that they have a nice roster and
- 3:31Speaker 4: they're coached very well with that Miami Heat culture that
- 3:34Speaker 4: I love.
- 3:34Speaker 5: But I got to see it. I don't know if
- 3:38Speaker 5: it goes well together, though. You talk about a lot
- 3:40Speaker 5: of drivers. You talk about Wiggins. You talk about Bam.
- 3:42Speaker 5: You talk about Giannis. I got to see that, though.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Has Giannis taken a step back at all? Or in
- 3:47Speaker 2: your opinion, he's still a top five player? I can't
- 3:49Speaker 2: vouch for that.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Nope.
- 3:50Speaker 5: That was Giannis.
- 3:51Speaker 4: I think when Giannis is motivated and hungry and healthy,
- 3:56Speaker 4: he's a different player.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I think he has taken a step back, but I
- 3:59Speaker 2: don't think the situation in Milwaukee was great. And I
- 4:02Speaker 2: think that's where that lack of motivation was coming from
- 4:05Speaker 2: the last few years. I mean, they haven't gotten out
- 4:07Speaker 2: of the first round in a few years. I still
- 4:09Speaker 2: think he's an excellent player. I think now in Miami
- 4:12Speaker 2: with another star player like Bam, a much better roster
- 4:15Speaker 2: than what he was dealing with in Milwaukee last year,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I think that they'll be a very strong team. I'm
- 4:20Speaker 2: not taking them over the Sixers.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I'm not taking them over the Sixers, but I do
- 4:22Speaker 4: think a motivated Giannis is something special.
- 4:25Speaker 2: What about the Raptors, a team that a lot of
- 4:26Speaker 2: people don't talk about? but they were, I.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Believe they were the five seed last year, a young team,
- 4:33Speaker 3: but they add Kawhi Leonard, a franchise icon, a man
- 4:37Speaker 3: who drug them to a title.
- 4:40Speaker 2: He is back in Toronto. I think this team is
- 4:43Speaker 2: going to be great. I do not think I would
- 4:45Speaker 2: take them over the Sixers, but Scottie Barnes, I think,
- 4:50Speaker 2: is a star player in the NBA right now. I
- 4:52Speaker 2: think they have two stars. I think it's Scottie Barnes
- 4:54Speaker 2: and Kawhi Leonard, and if you have two stars, You
- 4:57Speaker 2: can go pretty far in the playoffs. Now, I think
- 4:59Speaker 2: the Sixers have four to five stars on their team,
- 5:02Speaker 2: so that's going to be hard to beat. But what
- 5:03Speaker 2: say you about the Raptors?
- 5:04Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no. Thumbs all the way down.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Why?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Hell no. Listen, I love Kawhi Leonard. Yeah, he's amazing.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Kawhi Leonard is your main superstar. I don't think you
- 5:17Speaker 4: win in this league today. I mean, he's the guy
- 5:19Speaker 4: who basically started the whole Lowe's management. I know he
- 5:22Speaker 4: played over here last year.
- 5:23Speaker 2: He played basically the whole season.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Are you a betting man?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I dabble.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Well, you bet your money that, you know what, this
- 5:29Speaker 4: guy's going to lead this Toronto team to the Eastern
- 5:32Speaker 4: Conference Finals?
- 5:34Speaker 2: I can make the argument for it. I really think,
- 5:38Speaker 2: and I think you're discounting, are you not as big
- 5:40Speaker 2: a fan of Scottie?
- 5:41Speaker 4: No, I love Scottie Barnes, right? I think he put
- 5:44Speaker 4: him at the two world, be the number two on
- 5:46Speaker 4: the team.
- 5:46Speaker 5: I love that. Plays both sides of the ball right,
- 5:49Speaker 5: two-way player. Defensive-wise, he's really, really good.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I think Scottie's a top 15 player in the NBA.
- 5:55Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, he has that type of talent. I
- 5:56Speaker 5: can see that.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Maybe not a superstar, but an all-around player, I can
- 6:00Speaker 4: put him in that top 15 because he do so much.
- 6:02Speaker 5: They're not beating the Sixers. I think we're wasting time
- 6:04Speaker 5: with this one.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Really? I mean, come on. Are you kidding me? I'm
- 6:07Speaker 2: a fan of the Raptors. I think they're a fun team.
- 6:10Speaker 2: One that maybe I'm a little bit more down on,
- 6:12Speaker 2: but I think they have a top, top guy in
- 6:14Speaker 2: the league. The Detroit Pistons.
- 6:16Speaker 5: I like them.
- 6:17Speaker 2: The number one seed in the East last year. They
- 6:19Speaker 2: fizzle out in the second round. They don't make conference finals.
- 6:21Speaker 2: But Cade Cunningham, we talk about guys. Cade Cunningham is
- 6:24Speaker 2: that guy. He's a guy. He's that guy. I would
- 6:27Speaker 2: like to see it make a little bit more of
- 6:28Speaker 2: the scoring once we get into the postseason. They need
- 6:31Speaker 2: somebody else. Like Jalen Duren obviously had all the contract
- 6:34Speaker 2: stuff this summer. Osor Thompson is a terrific player. They
- 6:38Speaker 2: need more scoring, though, in my opinion. I kind of
- 6:40Speaker 2: feel similar with them as I do the Heat. Any
- 6:43Speaker 2: chance that they can compete with the Sixers? I don't
- 6:46Speaker 2: think so.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Look at me.
- 6:48Speaker 4: No.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Hell no.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Where?
- 6:50Speaker 2: No two thumbs. You did all the thumbs down for
- 6:52Speaker 2: the Rams.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I want to do 14 thumbs down.
- 6:55Speaker 4: But the truth is, I watched him last year in
- 6:56Speaker 4: the playoffs, and Cade Cunningham, to me, is top three
- 6:59Speaker 4: point guard in the league for me.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Absolutely. He's that special, right? Plays defense well and can
- 7:03Speaker 5: score at the best of them.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:04Speaker 5: But when I'm watching him in the playoffs, when he struggled,
- 7:07Speaker 5: they struggled. You need another help. He's not going to score.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Who else can score for him? I know. That's the problem.
- 7:13Speaker 2: If they are a team, there's a very interesting piece
- 7:15Speaker 2: out there. of if the Suns get off to a
- 7:18Speaker 2: slow start and Devin Booker finally wants to explore new options.
- 7:22Speaker 2: He's a Michigan man. He grew up a Pistons fan.
- 7:25Speaker 2: If they add a player like that, that's where the
- 7:27Speaker 2: Pistons can make a jump. With this roster, I'm not
- 7:30Speaker 2: seeing it.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Now you're cooking with grease because you was cooking in
- 7:32Speaker 4: the microwave. Now you're cooking with that grease. If they
- 7:34Speaker 4: get Devin Booker, oh, my gosh.
- 7:37Speaker 2: If they get Devin Booker, are you taking them over
- 7:40Speaker 2: the Sixers?
- 7:41Speaker 3: No.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But, hey. They're there.
- 7:44Speaker 5: 3-1 type of series.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. You got scoring.
- 7:48Speaker 4: You got superstar power over there with them two and Kade.
- 7:51Speaker 4: And it's Detroit, a little gritty, a little grimy.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Right? Because if you flip it up, it gets like that.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 5: You need somebody to compete with it. So that might
- 7:58Speaker 5: be a good one, though.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Seriously. We'll put a pin in the pistons.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 2: The Cleveland Cavaliers, who I thought they would shake up
- 8:07Speaker 2: the roster a little more this offseason, and they kind
- 8:09Speaker 2: of are just running it back. And I don't know
- 8:12Speaker 2: if you remember, they got their butts kicked in the
- 8:14Speaker 2: Eastern Conference Finals last year. Any chance... They compete with
- 8:18Speaker 2: our Sixers when it comes to that.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Sweet, sweet, sweet.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I mean, they got swept last year with the Knicks.
- 8:23Speaker 4: They're going to get swept by the 76ers. I just
- 8:27Speaker 4: don't believe in them.
- 8:28Speaker 5: I mean, listen, I think Spidey is damn good. He
- 8:31Speaker 5: definitely is. They play good defense with the two bigs
- 8:34Speaker 5: down there. Who's your number two? Is it James Harden?
- 8:37Speaker 2: It's James Harden, J.D.
- 8:38Speaker 5: At this point in his career, I don't see it.
- 8:40Speaker 5: When he was with the Rockets, I didn't care if
- 8:42Speaker 5: he played defense.
- 8:43Speaker 2: You don't see James Harden as a star player anymore.
- 8:45Speaker 5: No, I don't.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Back then, the Rockets, I didn't care if he played
- 8:48Speaker 4: defense or hustle. He could score at will.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Not the same.
- 8:52Speaker 4: And now you're a liability because if you watch the
- 8:54Speaker 4: last one, he got swept by the Knicks.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Brunson was looking for him. Where the hell are you?
- 8:58Speaker 5: Oh, found him. I'm hunting him. Got busy, got buckets.
- 9:01Speaker 5: And then that's how they won a lot of these games.
- 9:04Speaker 5: So if he's my number two guy, I just don't
- 9:06Speaker 5: believe in it.
- 9:07Speaker 2: This is the one that I'm like the lowest on,
- 9:09Speaker 2: on this list. I just, I wish they would have.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Big cap.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I just wish they would have shaken things up a
- 9:14Speaker 2: little bit more. How about the Boston Celtics who played
- 9:17Speaker 2: three really good quarters yesterday and then blew the game
- 9:20Speaker 2: to the piston. Jason Tatum did not look very good,
- 9:23Speaker 2: but you know who looked really good?
- 9:25Speaker 5: Paul George.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Paul George. Paulie P. Playoff. Playoff P. Looked awesome, awesome, awesome.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I think this team can compete with the Sixers. I
- 9:34Speaker 2: think they compete with the Knicks. This is, I think,
- 9:37Speaker 2: a team, and Tatum will get better.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Of course.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Tatum's still coming off a major, major injury, even though
- 9:42Speaker 2: he played in the playoffs last year. I think the
- 9:45Speaker 2: Celtics are in that same tier.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Do you think they are? Now, I do think this, though.
- 9:49Speaker 4: I think that the the Celtics and the Sixers will
- 9:52Speaker 4: be a really, really good matchup.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Just because the.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Matchups you have, right? People have made it a laugh
- 9:56Speaker 4: and joked about Paul George going over there. But the
- 9:58Speaker 4: truth is, if you're having for five six years now,
- 10:01Speaker 4: you might be in trouble but for the next two
- 10:03Speaker 4: to three years.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Paul can score with the best of them.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And he showed that yesterday already.
- 10:07Speaker 4: And he can still play defense. If you look at
- 10:09Speaker 4: the Celtics, the way they play their fit, he fits
- 10:11Speaker 4: right in. They all can play defense from one to five.
- 10:14Speaker 4: They switch on everything. And then there's so much space
- 10:16Speaker 4: in there because they all can shoot. One-on-one basketball with
- 10:18Speaker 4: Paul George?
- 10:19Speaker 2: I'm always going to be afraid of the Celtics in
- 10:22Speaker 2: a playoff series because they shoot more threes than anyone,
- 10:26Speaker 2: which you can live and die by that. But when
- 10:28Speaker 2: you live by it and it's successful, they can beat
- 10:31Speaker 2: anyone in the And the truth.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Is, are you kidding yourself here, man? We know who
- 10:34Speaker 5: Jason Tatum is. Yes.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Right? Slow start or not, he's going to be one
- 10:37Speaker 4: of the best players to end this year. So they're
- 10:39Speaker 4: going to be a good team.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So we pretty much agree on this. There are a
- 10:41Speaker 2: few teams. I think the Knicks and the Celtics are
- 10:44Speaker 2: in that same tier as the Sixers. I'm still taking
- 10:45Speaker 2: the Sixers over them. The other team I want to
- 10:47Speaker 2: shout out, and I want you to remember them, the
- 10:49Speaker 2: Indiana Pacers. Don't forget about the Indiana Pacers. I think
- 10:53Speaker 2: the Indiana Pacers with Tyrese Halliburton coming back, the last
- 10:56Speaker 2: time we saw this team at full strength, they were–
- 10:59Speaker 2: In game seven of the NBA.
- 11:00Speaker 4: I can agree to that. I mean, they're a good team.
- 11:03Speaker 4: But listen, yesterday's price is not today's price.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It's a whole new day.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Come on now.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Philadelphia 76ers are the best team in the East, according
- 11:11Speaker 2: to Shady and Ritter.
- 11:13Speaker 5: That's right. To us.
- 11:14Speaker 2: See you in the finals.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Okay, let's do it. Let's do it.
