• Wrestling is at its best when it can evoke emotion in you. One way whatever that emotion is, it's at Man. Mm-hmm. Its best when it can make you feel something and make you react. I did not expect to choke up twice, and yet I did because of those. my God. They're so good. So good. Like they had me deep in my feels. AEW's biggest show is in the books and it will probably come as a huge surprise that it was a banger. My gosh, dude, this I'm just happy. I'm just so happy. Yes, it was Yeah. Yeah. Six and a half hours start to finish. I don't care. I don't care Yes it was. I don't either. This time. Maybe 'cause it started at like, you know, seven AM. All right, ten. Well, West Coast it almost did. it started eight AM on the West Coast, which Excalibur Yes. But Did reference at one point, which I appreciated. Yes, he did. He was like, Grab some coffee, enjoy your breakfast, and watch the show. Yep. Yeah, get a donut. Yep. Yep. But holy crap. I I loved this pay-per-view. Loved it. Yeah, I I will say this because you brought the length up. I had this thought towards the main event where usually by the time we get to a pay-per-view main event, I'm exhausted and I'm like literally struggling to stay awake. And I Yep, same. Did not have that today. And I do think part of it is because it started, you know, it's daylight right now, right? But I think the other part of it is this show did not feel six and a half hours long to me. No. Whereas a lot of these other pay per views, I have felt the length. This one didn't feel I think That way. I think a lot of it just had to do with I think this was one of the best laid out shows they've done as far as match order and pacing of that. And I think I don't know if you could have gotten a better organized pay-per-view and paced pay-per-view than this one. I think they did about as good as anyone can do with a six and a half hour show. I agree. I think the other thing that really helped this one is virtually every match, there's very few matches that didn't have story going into them. Now, Right. Yeah. There are varying degrees of how hot the story was and how emotionally invested in the story the audience is, but there's story going into all of it, which is not always the case. Sometimes you Yep. Yeah. Get these things that are just slapped together and it's like, well, okay, it'll be a fun match, but I don't know why we're doing it, which is fine on a dynamite, but on a pay per view, particularly one this big, they knocked it out of the park. I mean, they really did. Yeah, they did. Yeah. They really, really did. I big fan. Big fan. Yep. All right. So let's heat check this thing. We're gonna split the pre show and the main show up. so let's do the heat check here. And before we dive into that, remind you to get some cookie dough from Doich Foods. doichfoods.com. That's D O I C H, doichfoods.com. Use promo code elite heat, you'll get twenty percent off. You know what I noticed on their website the other day, Doug? Tell me. They apparently have protein cups coming. I did see that. I don't know either, but I want to know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I don't know what that is. I'm gonna get it. I'll tell you I'm gonna get it. So looking forward to that. So doichfoods.com, D O I C H Doich Foods.com Elite Heat. Use that promo code when you check out. You'll get twenty percent off and you'll be very happy. Almost as happy as all in made you. Yeah. I am going to give myself a mayo on the heat check because I didn't order my Doich Foods in time to get it for the pay-per-view. So I get Yeah. A mayo for myself for my lack of timing. But that's on me. That's not on Doich Foods. That's on me. That's a me Yeah, same. Right. That's a yep. Thing. So Yep. That's my lack of time management. We were we knocked out a couple Change these, yeah. Major house projects yesterday and all of a sudden Good. I was like, it's eleven thirty PM. Like it was that kind of it's been that kind of a couple of days. So they're my poor time management is not their fault. And you're going, you what would be great right now? I don't have it. That's all right. That's Yeah. Yeah. And that's on me. Yeah. Yeah. All right. let's start with heat check-in, the buy-in. What what was hot on your list? Most of it, to be honest with you. Same. Which is pretty good for a buy-in because the buy-in Mm-hmm. Can be real hit or miss. Yep. So here's my hot list from the buy-in. I liked the opening promo from Persephone. Yeah. I I really liked the Opps versus the Rascalz and Lio Rush. Yes. I will say it makes me a little sad, and we'll talk about why. Okay. I don't know. I don't know how much time we'll spend on the pre show breaking it down, but it the match was really fun and that made me sad. I put Really? Yeah, I put Sisters of Sin and Harley and Statlander here because again, I thought the match was pretty fun. Mostly I'm I'm dead serious about this. Probably the biggest reason that it's on the hot list, Harley Cameron. I'm really impressed by her. She just looks better Mm-hmm. Every time she's in the ring. Yep. Is it me? Is it me or did she have kind of a Captain Marvel esque vibe going? Yeah, so I thought it was a little bit of a callback to it's probably been a couple months ago now. She came out in like a supergirl costume for some good corporate synergy there with Warner Brothers. I thought Mm. Yes. Uh-huh. It was it was partially that, but then also, you know, Statlander kind of does the Captain Marvel thing with the star. So I Yeah. Yeah. Thought it was, you know, a little team synergy there. I enjoyed that. I was very happy when Bryan Danielson came out. So that got on the My gosh. On the hot list. So good. Persephone and Maya World, I really enjoyed. That was great. Really, really enjoyed it. I enjoyed everything that happened there. Thekla's promo made me happy because we've talked about Yep. That. I really like the promos she had been doing. I guess mild spoiler alert, the Persephone and Britt Baker promo that then followed was very good. And then So good. So good. Th this bled over and I told I I texted you going this is gonna bleed over. I so I'm gonna put the trios match as part of both the buy in and the main show. but I really enjoyed that that match. So that's on my hot list. I have basically the same thing. I have Stat Cameron and Sisters of Sin on the hot list. And again, mostly because I thought Harley looked great. I thought Statlander looked great. I thought Skye Blue looked great. And I am gonna give Hart her due She's looking better. I think her development has been slow for some reason, but she's looking better. But I I love that match. I I have hot the smile that Lash on Lashley's face when Little Boom hit the spear. That was so fun. I was like, okay, you're a you're a you're a good guy. I like that. Yeah. He he very clearly was like, This is a goofy ass match, and if I'm gonna be part of it, I might as well have fun with it, you know. Yep. Yep. And for a team that's so freaking serious, that was kinda cool to see. Kinda cool Mm-hmm. To see. of course, Persephone Meyer World, that whole man, that match was dope. That was so good. Great match. I loved the Britt Baker appearance at the end. I thought it was Thekla under the I yeah. Mask. I was with Bryan Danielson. I thought it was Shida, but very happy to have been wrong. I didn't think it was Shida simply because Britt Baker is so much like leaner than Shida, and that's not a shot at Shida, Yeah. But she's it she just looked too lean to be Shida. And so I th I did think it was Thekla, but I was happy it was Britt Baker. So Yeah, I was too. And you got Bryan coming out for commentary. I thought most of the promos in the buy-in were great. So yeah. I don't have much not on the hot list. Yeah, my mild there was the trios promo with the dogs and the demand. Mm. I thought it was fine, but it was fine. And I think what what kept it from being on the hot list for me is Gabe Kidd does the he does his version of the unhinged rambling, I don't know what you're talking about, Jon Moxley promos that I have crapped on for months. Mm-hmm. So I'm gonna crap on it again because Yeah. You don't have the resume and the gravitas that Jon Moxley does to get away with that. Right. And so I was just like, Gabe Kidd just does not do it for me, man. I don't know, I get it. I don't get him. I haven't seen enough of him to figure him out and to decide if I like him or not, despite the character. Mm-hmm. And you'll note I'm kind of using that in air quotes. so that's really what hurt that promo for me. I think if you removed him, I would be like, it's fine. I still probably would put it on the mild because it's fine. But Right. It was it was mild for me. I also put Shane Taylor promotions versus Boom and Doom in the Hurt Syndicate in the mild for me. Like I said, it's a goofy ass match. the main thing that I thought in that. While I was watching it, I had two main thoughts. One of them was Shane Taylor promotions are good and I'd like to see more of them. Those guys are good. Yeah. Absolutely. The other thought I had was why are Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley two legit dudes, two, in my opinion, Hall of Famers, multi time world champion and Bobby Lashley, why the hell are they in the ring with a YouTube guy and QT Marshall? And that's why he got in the mild for me. There's nothing inherently wrong with the match. It's one could even argue it was a good match. and I Yeah. Will pay AJ, Big Boom AJ or whatever his name is, this compliment for a dude who is a YouTube guy, he's not bad. I mean, No. No. You pluck anybody else up off the street and put them in there, they're not gonna look that good, you know. No. No they're not. So I'll give him that compliment. And I I kind of liked the spot with him and the kid doing the spear. I I I treat it for what it is. It's a sideshow attraction, you know, Mm-hmm. It's not under the big top, it's the side tent at the circus, you know, and that's fine. Yep. You're gonna have to blow me away to not be on the mild list when those guys are in. Absolutely. Absolutely. They that match was on the mild list for me. And I I texted you about this. It it's like you said, I would say it was a good match. It didn't stink up the joint. It didn't stand out too bad. You know, it wasn't the one standout where you go, woo. The thing that gets me, the why it really downgrades it to mild. And trust me, I'm happy for Big Boom AJ to get his dream and to be able to do this. with his, you know, his son at his side and be able to Mm-hmm. Live this dream. What bothers me is putting him on the biggest pay-per-view AEW has of all the legit talent in the back, and big boom AJ gets that spot. And again, I'm not taking anything away from him. You've you know, you got what you got. Congratulations. I'm not, you know, you earned it somehow. To me though, that feels more like a dynamite Yes. Putting him on the show. Yeah, I I have no I agree with you. I had the same thought. I have no problem with you putting him on the redemption card, you know, the redemption buy-in or dynasty or even all out, which Mm-hmm. Sure. I, you know, still consider to be one of their bigger pay-per-views, despite it always being overshadowed by all in. I don't have a problem with that. Right. Mm-hmm. But I agree with you. Putting him on their biggest show and there are people on the roster who didn't show up tonight that are as far as we know healthy, you know, Mm-hmm. That weren't that did not I mean, Shida, we referenced her. She you didn't see her tonight, you know, among We didn't. Among others. And you give it to this guy. I I agree. It that bothered me a little bit and the placement of it, like I told you, bothered me a little bit because to me it's such a novelty. Let that be the very first match and get it out of the way. Right. Yeah. Yeah. And so to put the Rascalz and the Opps there at that very first match when you know the arena's gonna be half full at best because people are making their way in. And to give these guys a better spot, that bothered me a little bit as well. but you know, look, fine. It was fine, whatever. Yeah. Yeah. That was my that was my only mild was that. But I do have a mayo. I don't know if you do. All right, let's Yeah. And my I have a Mayo as well. Yeah. Hear it. My Mayo is the technical issues. It was a rough, rough start to this show. That that buy in had problems all over the place. Yes it did. Yes it did. I s I guess I wrote that down in the wrong I had that in the mayo for the whole thing because there was problems at the beginning. But my mayo is the giant Rizzler check. Hmm. I'm with you on that. I mean, again, you're given Big Boom AJ FaceTime on the biggest pay per view and then you have to squeeze the Rizzler in on a check? Okay. Yeah, no, I'm I'm I'm with you on that. It it was Okay. It was goofy. My thought on that was how has he not been sued by whichever movie studio did the Godfather for stealing the Godfather logo? Like did you catch that on the check? Yes, yeah. His logo is the Godfather logo, except it says the Rizzler. Like, how have you not been sued? I have no idea unless they're considering it parody, which I would Yeah. In which case we're gonna do a parody of, I don't know, the old school WWF logo or WCW for ours, like whatever. But Heck yeah. I was thinking Star Wars, but I'm an idiot, so No, that's better. We should have done that. No, but you kept it in wrestling. I just Yeah. Yeah, there we go. There we go. And then you had Well, we'll make a bunch of them. Who cares? We're not gonna get sued apparently, so who cares? Yeah. The weird transition to the trios match. Yeah. And I think we both know because they were like 20 minutes, and I'm like, You've got seven teams of three coming out. You're not doing this in twenty minutes. Yes. Yeah, there was there was no way. And they they did it exactly the way that we knew they were gonna do it. And I I wish that they had just started the main show with the start of the trios match because they were stretching. You know, and Mm-hmm. Yep. Again with these randomly timed intervals, like it was obvious that you're stretching to the start of the main show. To me, it didn't bug me that much. So I didn't make a note of it. But like if you're if you're gonna nitpick, like that's definitely something that it's like you guys probably could have timed that better. Yeah. The other thing, and this is on me, I was slightly confused by the rules. I was under the like That's not on you. They like I understand if you know anyone could get thrown out, they're out, but not the whole team. But Mm-hmm. I guess I didn't realize till closer to the end, if even if only one member of your team is remaining and they win, then that team gets the trio's belt. I was and Yeah. Maybe it was because I was under the fever dream of my my my fantasy booking of having three disparate people be Yeah. Champs. I thought that it was just whoever the last three left, but no one ever said that. So that's not on them. That that is kind of a me thing, but they didn't make it clear that if even if there's only one person left, if they're the last one, they their team wins all three belts. So I don't think they made Yeah. That clear until near the end. They they said it at the beginning. No, I was paying zero attention then. Well, but but here's the thing. They said it at the beginning, but but because they were having so many technical issues, it was hard to hear. Yeah. Yes it was. And I thought that it was if one member of your team gets eliminated, you're all out. And then Gotcha. One of the ass boys got eliminated. And Mm-hmm. They were like, Okay, he's out, but the rest of his team is in. And I went, okay, I I had that wrong. What they should have done is put the graphic up explaining it. Because this match, despite going exactly how I think we all thought it was going to go, and Mm-hmm. Despite it being what I thought it was of a multi-team match, it's the least explained on the card. And Yeah, yeah. And it has the most people in it. Yeah, and they didn't do a good job of properly. promoting the match in the lead up to it. Like if they had said, like if when Hangman had said the whole thing of we're going to be on all in So whoever wants some, come get some, it was up until what, yesterday, I think, that they announced this roulette, whatever they called it, match. You know, so up until it was either Friday or Saturday. So up until Friday or Saturday, we didn't know if it was going to be a multi team match. We assumed, but we didn't know. Or at least I assumed. You know, so if you're Right. Right, yeah. Same. Gonna do that, they needed to have that graphic that you could put up on the screen that explains it to everybody. Because I would imagine, and and I and we would have heard it if it had happened, I would imagine the people in Wembley didn't know the rules of the match because it wasn't explained as near as I can tell. No, it really wasn't. Like in the arena it wasn't. So they they should have put that graphic up. but that that aside, I thought it ended up being pretty fun. So Yeah, I Thursday is when we found out that it was gonna be multiple, yeah. Okay, Thursday was it. Okay. But still Thursday. Like they couldn't even tell us on dynamite. They waited until the day after dynamite to really lay out what Right. Was going on, so Yeah. Yeah. And and that tells me they didn't know. They didn't have the plan fully put together yet. And and I don't believe the narrative of well, they were waiting to see if they had New Day. They knew they did. They knew it. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. So I think that is a bit of a fumble in the build up to it. Yeah. But in in just the vacuum of the show itself, whatever. All things considered, if any match didn't need a ton of build up, that one didn't. Yeah. There's so many moving parts in it, it's like this I think if there was a story, it was going to be so confusing because there were seven teams there. So I'm okay Yes. With there not being a boatload of story in there. And I think you and I had already doped out what the story was going to be and it pretty much came to pass, so Yeah. Yeah. The the one other thing I would add is I would I know why they do it. I get the why. I would leave the random intervals to the casino gauntlet. I would have done every two minutes or whatever, you're gonna add a team. And then again, you you time it a little bit better. And you could Mm-hmm. Have timed this out a little better for what they were trying to do. That said, you know, whatever. It it was It was a weird build up to a pretty fun match. So Yeah. even if they were running early and you had to send Swerve out, send Swerve out by himself, let the paper start and then have him be in the ring and then turn around and then, hey, it's new level day. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, that's pretty much the pre show, the buy in heat check. Mm-hmm. We've pretty well covered it, but what I'll tell you is 'cause I teased it, what I'll pay off is why the Opps and the Rascalz and Lio Rush made me sad. Not only because they're doing that match was which was good. That was a really good match. Not I loved it. Only because they're doing that match to a half full arena because people are making their way in. But I'm watching it going, why are these guys not on TV more? And I know the Opps have been doing stuff on ROH, but I'm like, man, why are these eight dudes not on TV more? And that's what made me sad about it. Cause I was Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Really entertained by them and I want to see more. Yeah. I love the pairing of Lio Rush with My brain, Rascalz. Thank you. My brain just all I could think of was the Opps. And I was like, nope, it's not the Opps, it's the other team whose name I'm forgetting. But I love that pairing. I love that weird chemistry they have. I really like Lio morphing into this, even though he's the Blackheart, he has rainbow stuff, and now the rain is a thing. I love this super weird character. I thought he looked great in the ring. I thought this match was so good. And you're right, While it does make me sad, I do understand you have so and I think this, I think this pay-per-view proved it, you have so many top talent in this company. There is no way everyone gets equal billing. There's just no way. So the fact that you have to put some on collision and some have to live on ROH, I get it. But personally, yeah, I would love to see more of the Rascalz in Lio Rush on TV. And even the and even the Yeah. Yeah, and I get that too. Opps. Yeah, and and I get that too. I know it's impossible to get everybody into, you know, the hours that they have allocated to them on TV. I do get that. But if you're gonna keep doing these massive overruns on dynamite, you can put these guys in there. You know what I mean? Yeah. There's room there to put them in. All it takes is you going, Okay, because how many times have we said it since they started doing These huge overruns. That promo went too long. Probably Yeah. Didn't need this squash match. You know, you if you cut some of that stuff, if you take a look particularly at your pre-taped promos, you know, like I think about that Ospreay Omega pre taped one that you and I were like, it was good, but it too long. Mm-hmm. You cut a couple minutes there, you cut a couple minutes here, you cut a couple minutes here. Well, now you got 10 minutes to give to these guys. Yep. Let have it. And I know, yeah, and I know that's not a ton, start, you know, bell to bell, but I don't care. It doesn't have to they don't all have to be 25 minute matches. Exactly. And these guys can give you a lot in 10 minutes. So let You know, and you're gonna Yeah. Yeah. For it Need more challengers now for that trios championship because we should be done with Bro Hangdo. I don't know that we are, but we should be. We should be. And I think we are. I hope we are. But and since we're talking about this match, I wrote down if I was building for the future, I would put Bowens near the top of that list for talent. I would too. I would too. I again, and I know not everybody can get the spotlight, but I think Bowens is so talented. I think he's pretty close to the entire package. He does good Mm-hmm. Promos, he's great in the ring. He's got the look. I mean I would just, I think he is a, if they aren't flagging him for future champion of some title, then I think they're making a mistake. That's my personal Yeah. I agree. Opinion. You know, and if you want to send him to ROH and have him rule there, fine. Until you have room for him on the main roster, that's fine. But man, so good. Yeah. No, I I I agree. I've been a fan of his from the jump off with the acclaimed when they came in. I was a fan of both of those guys. I still am. I think, you know, if if you were building a promotion from the ground up and it was like you can have one veteran, you can have one kind of young up and coming guy, he would be arguably the top, but certainly near the top of my up and coming guy list. It would be I Absolutely. Would have him, Nick Wayne would be on that list. I mean Yeah. You know. So Yep. I agree. I agree. I have the new I have the new Trios Champs as my hot as one of my hots in the all in heat chuck. Yeah. a few other thoughts I had on the pre show before we put it away. I do find it Sorry. Interest no, you're fine. I do find it interesting that Chris Statlander went from I thought we were building something there that she was going to end up on the main card to the pre show in a tag match that got slapped together on collision. I thought that was kind of interesting. I don't Yeah. I don't know what that means. Probably nothing, but I'll say this Probably. If they gave, you know. Harley and Statlander more if they made those two an actual team, I'd be okay with it. Let get in the tag titles picture. I'd be okay with that. So maybe we'll Yep. Yeah. Yeah. I See what they do. I thought this pre show was great. I and again, Yeah. Except for the fact and and you know how I feel about it. Boom and doom. I get it. They still put on a good match. I'd rather see them on a different show. That's all. Yep, yep, I agree. Persephone, I continue to think is a is an absolute star. Yes. She did nothing to change my mind here today. I am absolutely geeked about the return of Britt Baker. And it's not just because I like Britt Baker, and I do, I'm a fan of hers, but my thought was when Paul White said. This shakes up the women's division. He's absolutely right. He is absolutely right. Because now you have some really interesting angles here, right? Because I I would think Maya World is going to be pissed and would want her TBS championship back. So you got that, right? And you screwed me, Britt. So now I'm, you know, coming for you. Mm-hmm. But then they also called out Thunder Rosa. Yes. Which I thought was very interesting. And I'm like, okay, Mm-hmm. So if we're gonna do something here and we've got some actual storyline going in the women's division that has needed it for a while, as we have talked about, I'm super excited by that. Yeah. I was a little concerned because they called out Thunder Rosa, who isn't the most high profile women in woman in the division. However, there's some history there with her and Britt. I think it's 100% fine. And if it gets Britt Baker on TV, if it gets Thunder Rosa on TV, my hunch is we're gonna see a tag match between Maya World, Thunder Rosa against Persephone and Britt. I'm okay with that. I'm 100% fine with that. Worker in slow, I think I think so too. Yep. Yep. Mm-hmm. Getting her back on TV at All is long overdue. And I hope my hope is she sticks around longer than I think the rumor is that her contract is up at near the end of the year, unless they do some extensions. Might be I I hope she sticks around. I hope that she resigns. I hope she stays on TV and continues. I don't need her to be the champ. I just want her on TV. I want her to continue because I don't know if there's many people that are that good on the mic as she is. I agree. So yeah, if we get her on T V th then I'm in. Yeah. I I think it's really interesting to see what they're gonna do with her because there had been rumblings that she was gonna be they were gonna bring her back if nothing else for that show that they're doing specifically for Rebel. which makes all the sense in the world. And I thought, okay, and you could just had her do a one off appearance and that could be it. Mm-hmm. I'm glad they brought her back and brought her back in storyline. I'm hopeful that all the backstage issues have been worked out and that she will stick with them. Same. I So I'm really intrigued by this. I'm really excited by it. Let's see what happens. Mm-hmm. 'cause yeah, I I think that's super fun. Yeah, I love having her back. So then on to the main show. And Yeah. All in, baby. For the heat check with that, you know, the trios match we've talked about, I I had that on my hot. Women's tag title match, Same. Which kind of surprised me, to be honest. I thought that was gonna be a mild for me. Yeah, I get that. I get that. Mox and Nigel. I have that on my hot, but mainly for McGuinness. Yeah. Well, and it that and then there's something else that I'm gonna say when we get to it that I'm like, Okay, I see why this keeps happening. That's fair. Mm-hmm. The international title match. Yes. Same. The gauntlet match. Same. I think this is the best casino gauntlet match they've done. I agree. I was thinking the same thing. I thought that was Yep. So good. Yep. the tag title match, especially everything that happened after it. Uh-huh. The TNT championship match. Yes. The women's championship match. Yep. And the main event. Dude, yeah. So for those of you scoring at home or even if you're by yourself, that's the entire all in card. Yeah. There's not one thing from the main show that didn't make my hot list. Yeah. And I have the only other extras I have is the Bucks intro video itself, Darby's coffin Yeah, my god, god. Drop from the lighting truss. Can I just can we just back up for one second? Between the Bucks video and Ospreay's entrance, I look, wrestling is at its best when it can evoke emotion in you. One way whatever that emotion is, it's at Man. Mm-hmm. Its best when it can make you feel something and make you react. I did not expect to choke up twice, and yet I did because of those. my God. Yeah, they're so good. So good. Like they had me deep in my feels. So Yeah. Yeah. The Bucks intro video, Darby's coffin drop from the lighting truss, Yeah. Willow's outfit. That was freaking hilarious. Loved it. And then I The the boob cannons? Yeah. Yeah. Had Ospreay's entrance and Mox handing him the flag. Those two things alone. So good. So happy. It was just great. Great. Yeah. That whole that whole card, like I said, is on my hot list. So Do you have anything on a mild for you? Just that stuff we already talked about with the pre-show. The the whole all in card is on the hot list for me. The only thing I have is mild. They're more asterisk milds than anything. Weirdly, I have the women's tag title switch. Is mild. I thought the match was great. I'm Mm, interesting. Okay. Okay. Mm-hmm. Not as sold on the switch, but that's okay. I'll get into that as we get to it. And then Okay. I I went ahead and put this on the mild. Mox winning the Continental title. That's fair. And that is something. So this is where we do this every week. This is where you and I split on how we do it. And that's okay. There's not I I just chunk it all together, right? And I think though you are actually right to separate that stuff out, and I should do that. And I just don't for whatever reason. But That's fine. I I should do that. Cause you're right. I you're absolutely right. I did not like him retaining. You're absolutely Yeah. Right on. Yeah. So I'm I'm with you on that one. Yeah. So I guess that. That one thing. Yeah. Yeah. Well, okay. So it's it would be that. And then I guess there's one other thing if I'm gonna separate it out. I didn't love Cope and Cage retaining. I'll give you that too. Yes. I would put that on my mild Yes. I didn't write it down, but that would make my that makes my mild as well. Yep. Absolutely. And then my only Yeah. Yep. So Okay. Mayo was the audio at the beginning, but that was Yeah. Kind of they kind of had it basically cleaned up pretty quickly Yeah. Into the beginning of the all in. I don't know if you noticed, but did you notice there were a several times when the audio went like click like it blacked out and came back, blacked out and came like it. Like they were flipping switches and finally that last one was like, Hey, we got it. Yeah, I didn't necessarily catch it because I think by that point I was just like, okay, this is just what this is just where we're at today, you know, and then they Yeah. Mm-hmm. They got it figured out. But yeah, that was rough. That was a rough way to start your biggest show. But anyway. Yup. It happens. we've been there. It happens. So with that. Let's talk about this live from London, the biggest show of the year. And I think we've decently covered the trios match. Yeah. I don't know if there's anything else you want to talk about there. No, I thought new level looked great. I loved the entrance. I loved the energy they brought. Yep. Yep. Yep. I love the fact that they didn't come in and just steamroll everybody. I was a little afraid that that was gonna happen, even though they end up winning. I I like the fact that it was a pretty balanced match after them because they were the last team to enter. But yeah, I really liked it. And again, other than me confusing the rules, because I was even texting you going, I like the idea of orange Cassidy. Jay White and Hangman winning, 'cause I thought that's how it would go. But I was wrong. So so when you were texting me that stuff, I thought you just meant, yeah, what if these are the last three guys and then you know they're duking it out to see who wins it? I didn't realize you thought that that meant that's the combo or that's the champions. Okay, that makes more sense to me now. okay. Yeah. In the the the only reason I thought that is because they were saying, you know, if one person in the team gets thrown over, the rest of the team stays in. So I thought, No. Well, okay, are we just gonna have the last three standing and they're the champs? But no, that was just my fever dream I wanted from last week, but that's okay. That's okay. Right. Right. Yeah. I still like my idea that I texted you of if Swerve had just entered solo and won. If I for a minute I thought that's what they were gonna do. I'm not even kidding. I'm not kidding. I thought If it had just been him. For a minute, I'm like, balls are is he gonna just go in and clean house? Cause he might. I would I would have I would have loved it. Like I love How cool would We all knew, we all knew what was happening here. We all knew that the mystery team was gonna be Swerve and the former New Day, now the new level. We knew it. But Yeah. Yep. Man, I would have loved it if Swerve was just like, no, it's me. I'm gonna beat all of you. And he did. I would have loved it. I would have just I if he had come out Wednesday with all three belts, like I would have just. I would have died a happy boy. But you know, as it is, I'm still pretty damn happy with how it went. Yeah. I thought it would have been fun if he would have done that. They give him all three belts, and then that's when New Level walks out to just get the belts. That would have been so Yeah, and he hands them. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Funny. Yeah, that would have been really funny. Yep. But overall, for as chaotic as that match could have been, I thought they put it together really well. Yeah. I thought, you know, the only other notes really I had from it are The s the sling blade to the outside when he eliminated, I believe that was when he eliminated David Finley, right? Mm-hmm. That was one of the coolest things I've seen. That I had a running like Yeah, it's amazing. Potential move of the night list, and that was the first one that hit my move of the night. Actually, that's not true. Yeah. I think I had a couple from the pre show, but especially from that Opps Rascalz match. But that was one that I was like, holy crap, that was cool. Again, I'm gonna pick on Gabe Kidd. Hi, I'm Gabe Kidd. I'm going to randomly give myself a concussion in the middle of a match by headbutting the turnbuckle repeatedly. What? I don't understand that. I d I mean no. No. Yeah, I'm gonna give myself a concussion for no reason whatsoever. Okay, bud, cool. Whatever. I thought it would have been really funny if Yuta had bailed out and Marina Shafir stayed in with them since she got in at first. That that would have been good. I would have that would have been wonderful. Maybe another time. Yep, I would have liked that. Mm-hmm. I will say this, since since we talked about how this ran over the top, right? It went from pre-show to main show. I actually do appreciate that they faded the pre-show 30 seconds early. to give us time to switch. Since if you're watching on HBO Max, it doesn't just roll into it. You have to switch from the buy end to the main show. I actually really appreciated that. So I didn't see that 'cause I bailed at about forty seconds Yeah. Instead of waiting to thirty. And so yeah. But I did find it Well. Funny that once you go to get to the all in feed that you heard them going, All right, thirty seconds till all in And that was fine. It was Yeah, yeah, you heard the countdown in the arena. Yeah. But I I appr Fun. Yeah, I I really appreciated them doing that. Do it again. If you're gonna do this where it runs over the top again, do that again. Absolutely. I loved when Hangman used Swerve to hit the buckshot and then immediately turned around and got back in Swerve's face. I thought that was great. I love that weird dynamic they've got going. Yes. I huge fan of those two Mm-hmm. Guys and everything that they do. So, you know, overall, I really enjoyed this sh this match, I should say. Good match, a lot of fun. Really thrilled that Kofi and Austin Creed are there. I'm a fan of the name. I'm a fan of everything that they did. I'm yes, let's do Yep. It. Yeah. Loved it. Then Divine Dominion versus the Brawling Birds, which like I said, I enjoyed this match way more than I thought I was gonna. I'm I'm curious why you didn't love them switching the belt. The main reason is because I feel like now that the birds have it, we're gonna see those titles more on Dynamite than we did before. And I feel like it kind of robs Divine Dominion of what they could have done. And I think Divine Dominion was really, really good. And I think with the fact and they pointed out they've only been together six months, yet they established themselves as being very dominant. And I've talked about this before. Almost every time they were on Dynamite. It was in a three person or more match, and they ended up looking the weakest, like the weakest link in that. And I'm like, how do you how do you have your dominant tag champs look weak in a in a six-way or eight way? I didn't understand that. And so that's my only caveat for that is I would have rather if we're gonna put the titles on Dynamite more and and see the women's tag champs, I would have much rather seen Divine Dominion. continue and carry on and somehow keep this birds thing alive to face them again and then you could drop to the birds. That's fine. I've got no problem with that. But it just felt like we're giving the birds the titles 'cause they're in London. I think that was a huge part of it, which is why I I mean, going into it, I was just like, well, they're gonna win. And so, Right. You know, I I I I agree with everything he said there. I don't love how they have booked when I say I don't love how they've booked Divine Dominion, I didn't like the little five minute challenges. the the main reason I didn't like it is because generally speaking, it was against people who were not names. And if Right. The whole point is to establish them as dominant, Well, number one, you can just look at those two and go, yeah, they they probably can kick a lot of ass. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But then number two, have them beat people. We've talked about this before. Have them beat people that I know who they are. And Yep. But like I think I said last week, who else do you have? There's not many Yeah. Names you could throw at them as a team. I actually liked the five minute challenges Yeah, but I but look at it this way. Though. Well, but look at it this way. You could why didn't you have okay, so you after Willow and Harley lost, Willow went on to other things. That's fine. Why wasn't Harley going after it? Why wasn't she going to Statlander why wasn't she going to, I don't know, I don't I don't even know. I don't even know who else is healthy, you know, but See, that's that's the problem. But but she could have been over the course of that time, she could have been going to all these different women going I want my tag title back. Will you help me? And you could have done a bunch of those matches and they could have just kept beating them. Yeah. That makes sense, yeah. Yeah. And so I would have preferred that Mm-hmm. Over five minute challenge against already in the rings. So I didn't I didn't love those. But I like I said, Yeah. I mean I I I understand that. Yeah, but like I said, I'm with you on I don't think they booked Divine Dominion very well in the lead up to this match. I don't think they booked the Brawling Birds well in the lead up to it either. No. I'm not shocked they switched it. My hope is that they actually do something with those belts now. Yes. Yes. And that's why and that's what's weirdly why I'm disappointed is because I would have liked to seen them do the more when Divine Dominion had the belts. If we see the belts on TV more, that's actually great. It's helping the women's division. I'm not opposed to the Brawling Birds having the belts. I I'm not, don't get me wrong. I just think for this show, I think it you could have gotten away with not having the the locals win. I think you could have Done something to continue that feud because, quite frankly, they haven't really feuded much. The feud's been, we're undefeated. So are we. Yeah, no, I I agree. And I think slash hope that they will continue it. Like I do I hope this was the beginning, not the end of the feud between them. Because Divine Dominion should Same. Chase. They should want those back. They should make I have just had Life hell for Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor. Now, if come Wednesday they do the thing that they so often do, where we're just gonna pretend like champions didn't lose, you know, or that those champions that lost just all went, well, okay. Yes, it is what it Yeah. Is. Yeah. Or like they do I think a little too much in the women's division, we don't see them again for six months. Yeah. Well, they've done it with the men too. If if you do True. That again on Wednesday, I think that's a huge mistake. I think Divine Dominion needs to be coming after the brawling birds. And now you can build some actual heat around this and make it into a thing. I hope that's what they do. I don't Mm-hmm. I do too. Know. I the main reason I think they may actually do it is because again, outside of the newly formed Harley Cameron and Chris Statlander. Who else you got, as we just said? You've you've taken Mina Shirakawa completely off TV for reasons I don't understand. Who Yep. Yep. Else you got? Yeah. You've got you had Shida and Persephone, but now you have Persephone and Britt Baker, but they're focusing on on Thunder Rosa. But you you can throw them at them, but You could. That you don't want those four going at it 'cause those are your four biggest faces. I I I think if you're gonna throw Britt and Persephone at the Brawling Birds, number one, I think it'd be it's too early, especially when they already called out Thunder Rosa. But True. True. Number two, I I mean I get the argument of you don't need to switch there because Britt has been gone for so long and not everybody is aware of Persephone and what she can do. Right. From where I'm sitting though, I would have a hard time keep not switching the belt there. You know what I mean? And No, I I understand. And so if you want to do that down the road, great. But I Mm-hmm. Yeah. I really hope Divine Dominion is not. push to the sideline. I really hope they continue coming after the titles because they should. Yeah. And if and if I'm booking Divine Dominion, I'm not just having them wreck house on the the tag titles. I'm having them wreck house on every female wrestler. I agree. So we'll see what they do Wednesday. Wednesday is gonna be really interesting for I mean, we knew it was gonna be anyway, but it's gonna be really interesting Yes, it is. To see what they do with a lot of this stuff. Yep. By the way, Tony, I know you're watching and listening. If you want some insight or just my if you want me to take over booking the women's division, I'm here for you, my man. I'm here for you. If you would like me to take over just, I don't know, doing nothing and getting paid an obscene amount of money, I'm here for you, Tony. I'm perfectly happy Damn, I should have said that one. That's the one I should have said. To be paid an obscene amount of money to do as little as humanly possible. If you wanna willy Mac me, I'll take it. Yeah. You can just pay me a ton of money to sit home and eat Doich Foods cookie dough. And here's the thing, my ton of money isn't gonna be as big a ton as probably other people's tons. Yo to you, Tony Khan, it's nothing. To me, Right. Life changing. Let's make it happen, bud. I don't need much to buy my loyalty, my friend. Nope. Nope. I'll tell you what, somewhere between five to ten million, I'm good. I'm good. Yep. Yep. I'm good. And I'll still book the women's division for ya. I'm in, man. I will still sit in my underwear and eat cookie dough. I mean I that's how I'll do it. I'll be in my undies eating cookie dough, but I'll still do the booking for the women's Yeah, well, sure. Yeah. Division. Any hoodle, let's get on to the next match. I don't know, man. Now I have a dream. I've had this dream for a long time, my friend. Where have you been? You should know that So the By now. You've known me forever, dude. You know that's my Yeah. Dream. Well, anyway, now that we've beat this bit to death, Continental You're welcome. Cup final, Jon Moxley and Nigel McGuinness, which yeah, I agree with you. I don't like the Mox retained. Here's what I thought weird, and was it me or was the crowd not behind McGuinness early? It was I don't know if this was one of those instances where there had been so much stuff already that they just needed to catch their breath in the arena or I don't know, but it seemed to me like they were just kind of flat for this one in general. And it it they Yeah. I mean they they came around at the end, Did. But I thought in and I wrote down maybe it's just the audio mix still, but the crowd didn't seem super Might have been that. Into McGuinness. Like it just seemed and maybe they were worn out. It you know what? Now that you brought up the audio mix, it might have been that because there were several matches particularly early where I was like, Man, they are they are not feeling this. They are just quiet. And it might have been the audio mix now that you say that. It could be, yeah. So anyway, I don't know. I had pretty well talked myself into Nigel was gonna win it. So that Same. I thought for sure he was. Yeah, so that kind of bummed me out when he didn't and and the other part of it too is as you and I have talked about, I I'd be completely fine with Jon Moxley taking a couple weeks off. Just Yeah. It's okay. Just let him go away for a little bit and then come back Yep. Yeah. And it'll be fine. But it is what it is. I mean, I was glad to see someone retain a title so far in the evening. So far, none of the champs won. Yeah. Yeah. No, no. Wha I think what was it, four for four on title changes at that point? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was that the in the incumbent the champ was not looking good coming out of the show or coming out of the Nope. No. Matches. So yeah. So yeah, I I thought that was interesting that they kept it on him. I mean, it's pr it's probably the right decision, but I thought it was interesting. You know, at the end of the day with the Continental Cup, I think you can sum it up by going, Was it even remotely necessary? No. Not at all. But we got some fun matches out of it, so I guess I can't complain too much. It was pretty fun. It was pretty fun. Right. And I will say I really liked Bryan Danielson to say, Rip it, Nigel, rip it. That was Yeah. Like, my god, dude, that's hilarious. Yeah, I really enjoyed that. I enjoyed commentary just going all in for Nigel in this match. I really I thought it made sense and I Yes. Yeah. I I enjoyed it. That brought it up for me, but you know, I again, I don't think there was a bad match on the main event. I don't think there's a bad match on the card, period. I was I would agree. Just a little like I said, my only disappointment is Moxley retained. Mm-hmm. And I felt this was a little slower match, but again, I'm okay with that. But Nigel, you need to stop doing that dip to the second rope bounce back thing because you did it like four times. Yeah, it's that's his thing, man. That's just his thing. And it looks a little slow. Like it doesn't like so It does. But you know what? There are very few people, because a lot of people have have started doing that. Mm-hmm. There aren't a lot of people that can make it look fast. Like Lio Rush can do it. I think Lio Rush is one of the few who does it and it looks great. Mox can actually do it. He used to do it. You go back a couple years He did it in this match. In AEW, he used to actually he did it in WWE too. He made it look pretty good. Mm-hmm. Nigel's not as fast as he used to be. Kyle O'Reilly does it and it Yes. It never in my mind looks that great when he does it. Mm-hmm. I think it's just a tough spot to to make it look good. I just think it was he overused it today and I think it's one No, he did. Of those I think it's one of those moves where it makes sense in certain situations and it shouldn't be how you bounce off the ropes every time. Yeah, I agree. I agree. But that is me being so nitpicky because I did like Yeah. This match a lot. Yeah. Well and I'm glad you brought up that you thought it was one of the slower matches 'cause this is what I was talking about when I mentioned like I realized something in this match that I went, I'm starting to see I it now. With most of Mox's matches for the last couple of months, when it starts, I'm kind of bored. Mm, mm-hmm. And and I get that it's playing into the Death Rider thing of, you know, they're trying to out wrestle you. Right. Right. Like they're trying to be real wrestlers and they're gonna out wrestle you. But hey, we can also out brawl you too if we need to, right? I'm just And that and tonight was when it dawned on me that's the match he's doing right now is I'm gonna start out slow and deliberate, and I'm gonna try and put you in a bunch of holts. I'm gonna try and tie you up into a pretzel, all that stuff. But then by the end, they're gonna have picked up so much steam that by the time the finish comes, man, I am into it. And that is what happened tonight. It started out, and I'm like, man, I'm kind of bored. But by the time we by the time we got to the finish, I was right there with. Commentary going, you're right there. Just reach. You're right there, man. You're so close. Like, I was so into it at the end. So again, maybe it's a backhanded compliment to Mox, but again, I gotta say, like, I think you're doing exactly what you want to do. Good job. And Yeah. Yeah. It might not be your cup of tea and it might not always be mine, but he's doing exactly what he wants to do. And I can't fault him for that. So And this and I and I mentioned it last week with Nigel's match last week. I appreciate the fact that not every match is playing out the same way. It's not at a hundred miles an hour from bell to bell. I liked the fact, even though it was a slower, slower paced match, and I think sometimes that because everything else usually is fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, that it stands out more than it should. I still appreciate the fact that they're giving us that. They're giving us a wrestling match. They're giving us a, you know, we're gonna we're gonna work this out. We're gonna figure it out. I'm gonna try to pin you. You're gonna try to submit me and we're gonna go back and forth until finally I just step on your throat, you know? And so I'm a I I did like it. Don't get me wrong. And Yes. Yes. Like I said, I think maybe like the crowd or the mix, like you, I was a little bit like, okay, this is gonna be a slow match. I could maybe I should go get pizza or something. Right. But then at the end I'm going, Nigel you're so close. Come on. Yeah. I mean, I was I'm like, I'm I was right there with Bryan Danielson. Go like you're right there. I think Taz was yelling at too. Like, you're right there, man. Come Yeah. On, come on. Like I was so good job by those guys to get me that into it. Good job. Absolutely. And even who was it afterwards that said, I I apologize. I think it was Excalibur. He's like, I try to be I think it was, yeah. Impartial, but I just got caught up in the emotion of it. And I was like, I I get it. And I don't know if that Yeah. Yeah. Was an actor for real. It doesn't matter. I was then the Doesn't matter. Same I was in the same mindset because I went from not really being invested. And I told you last week I'm just not that invested in the Nigel Mm-hmm. McGuinness storyline. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, You were so close, man. Like, that was the first time my heart broke tonight. Yeah. Man, by the end I was. I was like, Nigel, you gotta win this, bro. Come on. Yep. Now, let me ask you this, because there was a moment I thought Nigel was gonna take his boots off and leave it in the ring. I did too. I did too. I really thought when Mox gave him the ring, I thought, man, this is it. Like Yep. He's done. He wa when he was sitting down, he reached for his boot and I think he was just Yeah. Adjusting it. But I thought, he's gonna take his boots off and he's gonna retire. I'm fine that he didn't, but I thought for That's what I yeah. Yep. Yeah. A hot second I was like, my gosh, this is it. This is what Nigel was talking about. This is his last Yeah. Yeah. Match. Right. So yeah. I I did too. And I was like I said, Yeah, good. That was the first time my heart broke tonight. And I'm glad he didn't do it because I think he still does have some left in the tank, but I would get it if he had Same. Yep. Done it. I agree. I'm a little disappointed Mox didn't give him some some credit at the end of the match. That was disappointing. Yeah. Yeah. But he may do it Wednesday in a promo. Probably I doubt it, but maybe. Not, 'cause it's probably just move on, but you know, Yep. Whatever. Exactly. Speaking of moving on, holy crap, this neck mat next match was moving. Yeah. The international championship match between Takeshita, Okada, and Fletcher was hot. This at the at the moment was I thought, my God, this could be match of the night. It was so damn good. Yep. It was Yep. But I mean, you've got those three. How could it almost not be good? But my God, just great. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, y you know, you go with the move of the night match that I was talking about, that reversal that Takeshita did on Fletcher from the top rope that I I guess would be a tornado DDT. I have that too. Yeah. DDT off the top. Wow. That was incredible. Mm-hmm. So good. So good. It was it was a great match. I was a little surprised that Okada was the one that came out of it with the belt. Only a little, A little a little. But I was a little. I I thought Fletcher was gonna retain. Like I did too. I really did. You go back to, you know, you can bet on this stuff. I don't, but you can. I would have bet on Fletcher to retain. And I would have felt pretty good about it going Yeah, same. Yep. Into the match. So The the only downside to Okada pinning Fletcher, and I'm glad he pinned he chose to pin Fletcher, Mm-hmm. Is that it just it just seems that we are continuing this weird Don Callas family tension storyline with no real clear end in sight, which I guess is okay. And it makes sense that Okada would choose to pin Fletcher instead of Takeshta. I I don't know. It just It does and it doesn't. It just made me feel a little wonky. Yeah, it so it does and it doesn't make sense because it makes sense within the storyline what I thought was when he won is I went, okay, so it's gonna keep the beef between Fletcher and Okada going. It also helps with the narrative that AEW in particular likes to put out there of look, Okada is one of the greatest ever. And I'm not gonna argue he isn't. Yeah. Yeah, 'cause he is. Mm-hmm. So from that standpoint, I went, okay, this makes a lot of sense. So when you talk about him pinning Fletcher, it both does and doesn't. It makes sense from that standpoint. Where it does not make sense is if he's the guy, if Okada's the guy going, hey man, it's family above everything, which he did. And you know he hates Takeshda. Those two have been beefing for, I think, since the dawn of time. Yes. You can make an argument of it actually makes more sense for him to then pin Takeshita in that situation. But because it's wrestling and we Yes. All of that is true. Know how this works. Yep. I get why he pinned Fletcher. I think the inevitable here is probably it all out, we're gonna get Fletcher and Okada for the belt. But I'm with you of what are we doing here, though? Because Mm-hmm. If this is gonna be the beginning of some of the breakup of the Don Callis family, or at the very least, of Fletcher going solo, then I'd like them to push the gas pedal a little bit more on that. Because the argument could be made, you could continue the storyline exactly the way you want and the way you have planned out with Kyle winning. And Yes, you could. It does it does more than continue the Don Callis family storyline. It again solidifies the story that you're trying to tell, at least I think you're trying to tell and prove is that Kyle Fletcher is he's next on the list to be a a huge thing. And I think he should be. I think Kyle A, he looked fantastic. Fantastic tonight. I don't know if he's ever been in better shape in AEW than he was tonight, but Mm-hmm. He's so damn good. I really think you could have the the storyline you have didn't need to change one iota, and he could have won. And I think that, in my opinion, I would have rather s have seen that. But you know, I'm okay with this. Yeah, I I agree. I'm okay with it more if Okada defends a little more than he historically has. If they do the thing where he's gonna show up every week holding the belt, wearing the belt, but then he barely gets in the ring, I'm gonna be a little disappointed. I understand the why behind it, but I'm gonna be a little bit disappointed. So Yeah. If he does a couple more matches than he traditionally has. And again, you get a return match between the two of them Yes. At all out or whatever, then then I'm I'm okay with it. And I know this has been a slow burn story and and that's okay. They don't all have to be, you know, a three week storyline. They shouldn't be. I like Yep. No. The long term storytelling. I just I think it's time to speed this one up a little bit, just a little. And and Yes. Yep, I agree. They may start doing that on Wednesday. We'll find out. My question is what does Takeshita do now? That's a good question. 'Cause he there's not much in the in the wings for him right now. Not much going down, so Yeah. So I'm wondering what they're gonna do with him, and I hope that I mean This doesn't mean he's gonna disappear for a while. What makes sense is him to come back and be like, Yeah, but you didn't pin me. So let's go. So my Yep. Yep. Gut tells me that's probably gonna be the next challenge. And if they do pull the Okada not defending much, if they keep it in storyline where Fletcher's like, you know, I defended that title all the time, Okada. Yeah. And if you really want to keep it in the family and keep it respectable, you should defend it more. And if you won't, then I should just beat you and take it back. I like that. I'm down for that. I like that. Just being spitballin'. I'm just spitballing. I like it. I like that idea. But anyway, damn near my match of the night. Yeah, it was great. It was tremendous. Then the casino gauntlet match that, like I said, was I think the best casino gauntlet match they have ever done. I loved so I didn't catch it right away. I was like, wait, they're not doing the countdown clock. Because they usually do that to let you know No. Hmm? Somebody's coming, right? And then I was like, but it's so brilliant because they're just having them come flying in from wherever. Not everybody got the entrance and they shouldn't have that. That is exactly what this match should be. Because Mm-hmm. Fin it's like it what this match said to me today was everybody in AEW finally figured out how this match works. And they went, shit, we should just get in the ring and try to end it immediately and Yep. Not let other people come out. Like they finally figured it out, which means Yes. That seven years from now, they'll finally figure out the trio's roulette match. But Okay, yeah, maybe. It was, I loved how they did it tonight of dudes just appearing. It was I loved it. I loved it. Mm-hmm. I thought it was really good. And I liked how they called out Ciampa for not getting down to the ring. It's like everyone's laid out. Go pin somebody. Yes, I I I said the same thing. I literally, this is what I wrote in my notes. Thank you, Bryan Danielson, for pointing out that Ciampa should hurry to the ring to try to get the pin because he should have. And and Bryan Yes. Yes he should. Hammering him for it is exactly what commentary should do. That was great. Yeah. And I don't care that you were waiting for the Jericho spot. I don't care. I in in any reality, if you cared about that match and you're in it, you should have And everybody's down. You should have been aware of what was going on and ran your ass down and tried to pin somebody. Yeah, and I loved that Bryan didn't let up on that because I think it was Excalibur Okay. Or Tony, one of the two, saying, Well, he might not have known because Wembley's so big and he's been waiting for his number. He might not know that everybody's down. And then Bryan Yeah. Went, Yeah, but he can see now that there's no one in the ring. Yep. And he's still just sauntering to the ring. And Bryan was right. Like he should have been running to grab somebody and roll them in the ring and try and get that pin. And and Yep. Would have been way better in my opinion. Yeah, and and look. Other than it is a goofy thing that didn't look great in the moment, and Bryan was right to call it out. That is like the one thing in this match that I'm like, that wasn't great. Everything else they did with it, I thought was really good. I thought Mm-hmm. It was hysterical that they just played up Justin announcing the wrong name, calling Komander Místico. Yep. And I gotta say, him I thought he covered as he recouped as good as anyone could, because he waited until after Yes, he did. That big Komander spot and he's like, And your eighth entry. I was like, good cover, man. And then went in Místico. Yeah. Yep. And then him saying, You guessed it, Místico. That was so good, man. Yeah, it was great. He handled it beautifully. Well done, everybody. This is this is the best casino gauntlet match they've done. Did it surprise you that Andrade won it? Not really, no. It both did and did not for me because like I had told you, I thought he and Max were gonna take each other out of the match to continue their storyline and somebody else was gonna get it. I you know, Místico had been a pick for me. Mark Davis had been a pick for me. Nick Wayne actually was an interesting one that I thought of later of like, again, nobody thinks he's gonna win the title, but it they did it with Kyle Fletcher, they did it with Kevin Knight, put him in the spot and let him show that hey, someday. He's gonna be there, you know. Mm-hmm. So I thought that would have made some sense. I don't hate that Andrade won it by any stretch of the imagination. I you if you listen to this show, you know Doug and I are big on Andrade right now. Yep. Way high on that dude. I'm really fascinated to see what MJF does on Wednesday. Well, what I like about Andrade winning is how he won. He takes out MJF, Uh-huh. But then he pins Nick Wayne. He doesn't pin MJF. So MJF still has a claim to USOB, you didn't beat me. Yep. And Yes. Yeah, but you didn't beat me. Yep. You stole my pen. And you know he's going to. You know he's gonna play that up. And so so that that Yeah. That's my thought too is you didn't pin me, you stole my pin. Yep. Feud is not dead, and I'm glad for that. Cause I think those two are gold right now. I think the more we can see them going back and forth. And I think you should keep them apart physically for a minute. I don't think you should let them, you know, go back at it again. Let at least not right away. Let them let a few other things play out and No, I agree. Yeah. Keep that tension running. But because of how it ended the way it did, I was okay because it it clearly keeps that feud going. So and I like that Andrade won. Do I think he's gonna win the Yeah, no I Title next? No, I don't. I think he's gonna win it at some point in the next two years. And I but but here's the thing, I think MJF is gonna cost him the title. Yeah. Entirely possible. Entirely possible. I think Andrade is gonna be holding that belt at some point in the next couple of years, but Yes, I agree. Not this year. No, I agree. So I think it's gonna be really interesting again to see how they book this because either you are gonna put Andrade against Will Ospreay quickly, meaning probably it all out, or you're gonna keep them apart and let him and MJF continue doing their thing. But then it makes me wonder who do they feed to Ospreay first? And I don't know the answer to that. But again, it it's this No, I don't know I don't know. Is yeah, this is one of many things that happened at all in that has me going, Wednesday is gonna be fascinating. Absolutely Yeah, it's gonna be a fun show. Fascinating to see what they do on Dynamite. But to bring it back to the present, really good job with that casino gauntlet match. Really good job. More of that. Love him. Love him. Then we got Cage and Cope versus the Young Bucks, and this was the second time my heart would break. Same. First of all, the Young Bucks intro choked me up. And I think it would have anyway, just 'cause it's such a beautiful love letter to their careers. Yeah, so good. But I have been reading a lot this week that people like Dave Meltzer, who we know when we we we know his AEW sources are generally speaking the young bucks. He's been saying a lot that this is it for them. That when this contract that they're currently on is up, that they're gonna retire. And I don't know when that is, but I don't think it's that long. Right. And I love those two dudes so much. They brought me back to professional wrestling with BTE. They brought me back with all in, the stuff that Same. Yep. Yep. They did with Bullet Club. Like I love those guys so much and I get it. It's your life, man. But I'm not ready. I think the elite are very close to the end of the road. As a as a con as a group, absolutely. I think the Bucks could I've been reading the same things that the the length of time that the Bucs and Kenny are gonna remain in the ring is limited. Hangman's gonna stay longer, but those three, this could be their last ride this year. No, I'm not either, dude. I'm not either. But I get Yeah. And I'm not ready for that. So you you It. Yeah, I get it. I do get it, but I'm not ready for it. So when you pair that with that intro, I was deep in my feels. And I was like, they have to win this. I thought they were gonna win it anyway. I was like, they have to win it. And when they didn't, my heart broke. And let me tell you, it is arguably the first time. I actually think it is the first time in their illustrious careers that I was sitting there going, man, fuck you to Edge and Christian. Ha ha ha Cause again, you talk about two dudes that I've been a fan of for 30 years, probably at this point, give Yeah. Yeah, man. Or take. And I was just like, screw you guys. And my big disappointment is Edge and if Edge and Christian, if those two lose, I yeah. You do not tarnish their their their legacy. This was basically putting the Bucks legacy on the line, saying, not, you know, because Cope and Cage were saying, look, we're not just the best of our generation, we're the best, period. And you and by having them lose, you deny the Bucks that bragging right of being the best of their generation, even though they clearly If they're not it, man, they are freaking close. I don't know who you put above F T R's the only one with an argument and I don't I don't know that they're better than the Bucks. FTR, I yeah, I would say I would say in ring talent, maybe the Motor City Machine Guns who showed up tonight, because I've been Yeah. Yeah. A fan of them for a long time too. Super glad they came Well, and quite honestly, Out. Yeah, quite honestly, there's an argument for New Day as well. But Yep. Yep. But again, but if I were gonna rank those like it's the Bucks and F T R and then Motor City Machine Guns and then New Day, there's kind of a gap. I Yep. Same, same. Then Motor City Machine Guns come out, then FTR comes out, then new level comes out, and they're all in the ring. And on one hand, it reminds you, hey, this tag team division is stacked, because Hurt Syndicate didn't even come out for that, but they exist. Yep. You know, and there's others, right? Yeah. But it it made me go, okay, so if I'm gonna fantasy book this Wednesday, you better believe the Young Bucks are pointing out, you can't beat us without cheating. Right? Because because They should. Christian won by cheating. So you better believe I'm having them call that out. And if those other teams are gonna come down, which is fine, Mm-hmm. You know, probably what I would do. As much as it pains me to say this, I would leave the new level out of it for right now, just because Yes, I agree. They're the trios champs and we we've established we need to build that, right? Rush. But what I would do is I would book a four-way of Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, Cope and Christian, and the Young Bucks for All Out. And the Young Bucks need to win it. Yeah, that'd be great. Yes, they do. And here's where I think it's actually a more poetic moment for them if they do. Where is All Out? It's in the exact same Yeah, it's in Chicago, baby. Building that the original All In happened, the the show that really, in so many ways, gave birth to this company. Right. It's Yeah. Without a doubt it did. The same building that there's a plaque on the outside of it that I see every year when I go of Cody and the Bucks celebrating the original all in. It's actually more poetic if they do it there. I agree. So if that's how it goes, then I'm okay with it. Yes. But if this was part of the Swan song and they're never gonna hold the titles again, that I won't be okay with. No, same. I I nope. I won't like it. Yeah. So again, we're back to we'll see what dynamite does. It's gonna be very fascinating. But again, if you book a four way between those four teams, holy crap. And Yeah. If you have new level, be like, Hey, whoever wins. I got next. Yeah, we're calling next. You you're gonna have to deal with us at some point. anyway, really fun match, really good match between these guys. it just broke my heart. But again, Same. That's when that's how you know it's good, when wrestling's at its best, when it can make you feel that on that emotional level, you know. So then I needed a minute. So I went and got lunch. And Nothing wrong with that. Yeah, and came back for Darby and Kevin Knight for the TNT title. I Really, really want to know the answer to this question, and I don't think we'll ever get it. Did Darby intentionally go nuts first onto that chair? Because I don't think he was I don't think he did. I don't think he did. I don't think Yeah. I think so too. I don't think he meant to. I don't I think he just over rotated and that looked freaking painful. That was my god. I was just like, God. And I was like, hope you weren't planning on having kids, my guy, cause holy Exactly. Shit. That and again, this was another banger of a match. I really liked it. And I like the fact It was really good. That the Don Callis family came out. I like the fact that Sting's son Steven came out, and then Sting makes his return and looked great. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. I I liked everything about it. And that I did too. Dude, that freaking coffin drop from the Raptors or wherever the hell he was. Space. That was bonkers. Just It was. Unbelievable. Yeah. I mean, so a couple thoughts that I had. I'm not sure I've ever seen anybody get cut open by the belt before. Like I you I've seen the spots where you get hit by the belt and you blade. I don't think I've ever seen that before. And I and I don't think I have either. That was It it it again made me wonder, did you do it on purpose or did he just somehow did Kevin Knight just somehow get the magic shot there where it cut him? I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. I think it probably was accidental, but But that was really interesting. Mm-hmm. I really thought that Sting's son Steven looked really good. Yeah. I was very impressed by him. So any talk of Nepo baby, you can put that aside. But also that's kind of just what wrestling is. For God's True. And Sake, there's been a storyline about it in WWE for I think 15 years now. And does he not look almost exactly like Sting? My God. My god, he looks just like him. It's crazy how much he looks like him. So Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was f I like I said, I really liked this match. I thought it was really, really good. I was glad to see Darby win and get the belt. Yes. It does have me a little concerned for Kevin Knight because, you know, again, we fall into that what's next, but So it it does and it doesn't for me because like we were talking about Wednesday, you've got to start lining up challengers for Ospreay. And you have to assume True. That Ospreay's gonna hold on to this belt for a while. I think he's gonna. Mm-hmm. So you gotta start lining up challengers and they can't all be the A level guys. They can't all be hangman and swerve and Mox, right? So why not? I don't ever have a problem with guy drops a minor title, but has been on a run. And so now we're going to move him into the world title picture. I have no problem with them taking Yeah. Kevin Knight and saying we're going to put him in the world title picture. Do I think he's going to beat Ospreay? No. No. But am I on board for that match? You're damn right I am. Gonna be a great match. And Is it gonna be a great match? You better believe it is. Yep. I think that's a perfect guy to put in the ring with Will Ospreay. So Yeah. Yeah. I'll take that. Yeah, so I I don't have a problem with him dropping there if he moves into that position. And we'll see what happens. But Yeah. Mm-hmm. You know, I think speedball is a guy, by the way, that they should put in in with Look. Yeah. Ospreay. Do I think he's gonna win? No, but put him in there anyway. I don't care. I think you could too. But I mean i but i again if I think you could pull one of the Rascalz and put them in with Ospreay, you know, just to do it. You're yeah, but if you're talking about from a a the guys that they've built slash been building, speedball's there. Uh-huh. True. Yeah, yeah, he is. Do I think he's yeah, do I think he would win it? No, but I don't care. Put it, give me the match. Yeah. Live up to your this is where the best wrestle, you know, moniker or whatever. Cool. Let's do it. So I think Mm-hmm. From that standpoint, if that's what they're doing with Kevin Knight, then I have zero issue whatsoever with them having Darby win. As it stands, I really don't have an issue with it anyway. I'm just True. Gonna be very interested to see what they do with him again come Wednesday night. Yeah. Yep. But great match. Yo, great match. It was it was a contender for match of the night for me. Great match. Yes it was. Yes it was. whether it's spoiler or not. I thought, and I'm not kidding, every match on the main card could have been a match of the night. That's not hyperbole. Absolutely. I think you take That is legitimately true. Yeah, I think you take any of these matches and you put them on any other show. Mm-hmm. And yeah, like if you had taken any one of these matches and you put them on that redemption card, Yeah. You and I would have been talking about that show very differently, going, So this mat this show wasn't great, but this match saved it. Holy crap, you know. So Absolutely. Absolutely. But they they brought their fastball today, no doubt about that. so then Willow and Yes. Yes they did. Yes they did. They brought their speed ball, so to speak. So then Willow and Mercedes for the women's title. we mentioned the boob cannons. Love it. Weird finish, I thought, to a really good match. Again, a match of the night contender for me, but I thought the finish was a little weird. I agree. I felt it was called a little soon Mm-hmm. Because they said she was passed out even though Mercedes was stepping on her hand and she was screaming. Yes, she was obviously not out. So while I I get that's the finish, and if you would have waited even 30 more seconds, it would have felt cleaner. And that's the only downside to this match is that wonky finish and I Yeah. Think the timing of it. Otherwise, this was a damn fine match. And I think It was I think Mercedes legit if she didn't break her nose, something's going on there because she was bleeding hard. Yeah. So incredible match. I don't know that she broke it just because of how it was bleeding. I think somehow she got a pretty nasty cut on the bridge of her nose. Because I agree. Yeah. It wasn't coming out from her nose, it was coming out from like the That's true. The bone. You know what I mean? So I think she just got a real nasty cut there. made Yeah, that was For a hell of a visual. Yeah it did. Yeah it did. I d the only thing I wrote down was weirdly timed ending. I'm good with it, but weird. So yeah, again, I I think match of the night contender, my thought on what happened there is I think they accidentally rang the bell before they were supposed to. Because if you if you I think you're right. If you go back and watch it, and I don't know if it's the referee called for it a a little too early on accident or if they rang it. I don't know what happened there. But if you go back and watch it, the women don't stop. They're transitioning. No. Like they they hear like They had to hear the bell, we all heard it, but they didn't so there clearly was more planned there. So I think Yeah. And It was a mistake, not by the women, but I don't know what happened. But you don't see Aubrey anywhere in the in the picture. So you can't That's true. It's like, so did she call for the bell? Because normally you can hear her in Yeah. When they when the end comes, normally you could see someone going, that's it, she's out. And it's like, that never happened. Never happened. By the way, here's another Yeah, you can hear yell, ring the bell, usually. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if the timekeeper rang it on accident. I don't know. They can clean it up pretty easily on Wednesday by just saying that Willow verbally gave up. Yeah. Or they could also just move on, and that's probably what they're gonna do is just move on. I think so too. Yeah. So anyway, I I think the yeah, I think the best thing is not to mention it and let it go. Yep. But great match. Yeah, weird finish, but it doesn't take away from how good that match was. I mean, Willow looks when she's when she was going up against Mercedes tonight, she looked so legit and she looked great. They both looked great. And I mean, again, if you have Willow go over and win, I have no problem. You have Mercedes go over and win, I have no problem. I loved this match. Again, like you said, another match of the night contender because I think every match on this card was a match of the night contender until Yeah. I think it absolutely would have been my match of the night on ninety-nine percent of of shows. But we all knew that Omega and Ospreay were waiting. And we Yeah. All knew that they were gonna have to I think they would have had to come out just drunk to not have the match of the night. You Yeah. Know, or somebody was gonna have to have put on not just the match of the night, but the match of the year to beat these guys for that title. And Yep. I I wrote down I think this was perfect, no notes. Yep, I totally agree. Ospreay's intro, again, had me choked up and in my fields. Mm-hmm. I thought it was great having not just his friends, but having even his rivals lined up to give him the head nod of go get it. You know, Yeah. The stuff with his mom was great. Mox at the end giving him not just handing him the flag, but the way that he looked at him and just nodded and started to smile. I was like, Jesus. Omega's video was Yeah. It was really good. Good. Yeah. Having the corners, right? Like with the with their love letter to Japan, where it really all started for these guys. It was great. It was brilliant. I couldn't have enjoyed it more. The emotional roller coaster they took you on was great. Yeah. I I thought Kenny was gonna kick out of that last hidden blade. So the sub the finish surprised me because Okay. Yeah. I thought he was gonna kick out. Like the way his leg moves, I thought he was gonna kick out. And I thought, if they had given those guys two hours, I would have like, it wasn't enough. So Yeah. It didn't matter when it ended. I was gonna be like, no, give me more, but I really Exactly. Thought he was gonna kick out. So it surprised me when when he didn't. Mm-hmm. But Jesus, what a match. Wow. I I loved everything about it. I and I did too. I wrote down even before it started, I said, this just feels like a big time fight and it is so good. Yes. Yeah. But I also wrote, Kenny creepy weird intensity is amazing. I don't know what he's doing, but I'm in and I love it. And the only other thing I'll say, but I know is Ospreay bled like a horse. I think that was the only planned one because I don't think Kenny was planning to get cut. But if you look over the whole night, I think Ospreay bleeding was the only planned bleeding. I think everyone else, it was just it just happened, which I think is odd that no one else really was bleeding during an AEW night. Cause normally Yeah. We see a lot of blood. And while we saw a couple of people bleed, I think most of that was hard way. I think Darby's was hard way. I think Mercedes Yeah, I think so too. Was hard way. Yeah, it definitely was. No, and you're right, Ospreay I don't know. Got or Omega got it the hard way. Yeah, he did. Cause he came up, I thought, did did Will like rub his face against him? But no, he was bleeding, so Yes he did. Yes he did. No, he he clocked him with that hidden blade. this was a great match. It was incredible. yeah. I don't know what else to say. The the intensity of this night, the intensity of this match, the story they were telling within and I don't even know how long this match went. It could have been 40 minutes. I don't really know. I don't think it was quite I don't know either. That long. But the story told with Kenny dominating early and Ospreay coming back and then Ospreay hitting or Ospreay hitting Kenny with his own move and Kenny kicking out at one and then kicking out again at one. And like I said, that weird, creepy intensity. And that Holy shit, that table spot was possibly the most intense table spot I've ever seen. I think by that point I was just like, I'm not I'm not even sure I'm processing what's happening anymore and I'm just full of joy. So good. Like I said, I've got no notes. It was a freaking Yeah. Yeah, it was great. Perfect, perfect match. Match of the night without a doubt. Yep. yeah. It was great. This was a such a good pay per view. Such a good Yes, it was. Pay per view. What was the other pay per view that we thought was freaking perfect and the best one they did? Two pay per views ago? I think it was double or nothing, yeah. I would say was it double or nothing? I think it was double or nothing that we were like, that was damn near perfect. Yeah. I agree. Well, I think I think this one rivals it on quality. I think this is perfect. I think, you know, when we get to the end of the year and the sports illustrated's and the meltzers and the fightfuls and all of them start putting out their, you know, end of the year awards. If this isn't, the show of the year or however they choose to you know, best pay per view of the year, whatever, however they choose Right. To phrase that. I don't know what beats it. I mean, double I don't either. Or nothing y has an argument, but I I really genu I know the year's not over, but I genuinely don't know what beats it. this was a perfect night of professional wrestling. Seriously. It is without a doubt one of the top five shows I've ever seen. I So good. Yep. I put it there with, you know, Mania seventeen. I put it there with the original all in. I mean, it's incredible. Mm-hmm. I would I would say it's even technically match per match better than the original all in, but the original Yeah. All in has its own magic that you can't compete with. Yes. But from a pr from a storytelling and wrestling standpoint, this like I said, it's this was a perfect night and that last match was absolutely perfect. Yeah. Yep. I don't know what you could have done to make that match any better. I don't think there's anything you could have. No, and I probably wouldn't have booked it any differently. I think exactly Ospreay won when he needed to win. It was great. Great. Yep. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect. It was I don't know that you could have done a better job here. Like we can nitpick the build and we did a little bit. Like you didn't Mm-hmm. Need to bring his kid into it. It would have been fine without it, but whatever. It did it in no it didn't cause harm to the story in any way. You know, No. It was this was incredible. This was an incredible show. They knocked it out of the park. I cannot wait to see what they do on Wednesday because there's so many. Fascinating different directions we can go in now. And that's how you know it was so good is because they ended an amazing show and I can't wait to see what they're gonna do Wednesday. Yep. well done. Just well done, Yeah. Everybody involved. You guys crushed it. Everybody should be super proud of their work tonight. And again, Tony Khan, you should pay us to do nothing. I mean, I'll go ahead and book the women's division. I think I could do a decent job. I'm not kidding. I mean okay. Yeah. I yeah, cool. Yeah. pay me to do nothing then and I'll just keep Yeah. Saying nice things about ya. Yeah. I mean I'll say nice I'll say nice things about all the things that are nice. So that's never gonna change. So speaking of nice Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So with Things, doichfoods.com. Yeah, but you like it. Yeah, AEW's got themselves brought themselves to a whole new level. No no. It's what I said. It's what I said. What what you said? Okay. That's fine.
