- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: In today's verse 15, we're going to explore the concept of sanctification in the Holy Spirit.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Every day, every moment, God is working to mold us into His likeness.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: We were made in His image, and the Holy Spirit is so insightful, so good at molding us and correcting.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: There is so much peace and store for us if we'll allow God to take away anything in our life holding us back from what we were originally created for.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: To live free from sin, free from shame, free from the weight of the world, and holy and righteous in Him.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: May you be encouraged as we open our hearts and seek sanctification in the Holy Spirit today.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the first 15 podcast.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Our Scripture for today comes from first Peter chapter 1, verse 2, Scripture says, according to the four knowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ, and for sprinkling with His blood, make grace and peace be multiplied to you.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: The word sanctification typically renders images of fire, struggle, pain, and toil in my mind.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me think of my own sin and wonder how I could ever be transformed into a sanctified child of God.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: I believe sanctification is one of those words commonly used within the church, but often misunderstood.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: We might understand the definition of sanctification, which is the process of being made or becoming holy.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know if we have fully grasped God's plan for the process.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if we've been taught on sanctification in the light of God's grace.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: First Peter 1, give us wonderful insight into God's heart for the process of sanctification.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Scripture says, Peter and Apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who are elect exiles in the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Capodosia, Asia, and Bithinia, according to the four knowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: For obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with His blood, make grace and peace be multiplied to you.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to His great mercy.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfaithing, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: In this, you rejoice.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: Though you have not seen him, you love him.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Though you do not now see him, you believe in him, and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: The first thing we see in verse Peter 1, verse 2, is that sanctification is of the Spirit.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: sanctification comes from God working in us, not from our own strength.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, Scripture is clear that righteousness is ours as the result of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: 1 Corinthians 6 11 says, you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: 2 Peter 1 3 says, His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: sanctification comes from God's work and power.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: In our own strength, we can't produce anything like sanctification because we have no holiness within ourselves.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: But in the Holy Spirit, we have access to a vast, deep well of righteousness in Godliness.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: Through Christ, we've been made clean.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And through the work of the Holy Spirit, we are growing up into a life of holiness.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: First Peter 1 is most definitely clear that sanctification is a tough process, dealing with our sin will never be easy, but it is a process full of the work of our merciful God and it always results in rejoicing.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you desire holiness, righteousness, and godliness, seek out relationship with the Holy Spirit, open your heart and mind to His work, allow Him to reveal to you the dark places of your heart that have yet to be touched by the capable, loving hands of the God who formed you and knows you.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: allow him to heal the wounds and brokenness that have tied you to the world, which you've been set free from through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: St. Defication is ours by God's grace and mercy.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Take time and prayer today to allow God to deal with your sin and lead you to a life of rejoicing and joy, where only sin and sorrow dwell before.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: As we begin, meditate on God's desire to produce holiness in you by His grace, love and mercy.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: 1 Peter 1 too says, according to the four knowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with His blood, make grace and peace be multiplied to you.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: And next, open your life up to the Holy Spirit.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ask Him to reveal areas that are keeping you from a life of holiness and godliness.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Ask him to show you past wounds that are still hurting you today.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Confess your sin to him and receive his forgiveness.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 2813 says, whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: and last.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: Ask the Holy Spirit to come and heal you.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Ask him to show you where he was at times when you were wounded.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Ask him to reveal to you truth that has the power to cover the damaging lies, the enemy has spoken to you.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Live your life healed, set free, and delivered by the power of the Spirit.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: 1 Peter 2 verse 24 says, He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: By His wounds, you have been healed.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: May you experience the joy and freedom that comes from receiving God's forgiveness and healing.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: When we give our sins over to Him and receive His forgiveness, the chains that entangled us to the cares of the world are shattered.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Our portion in God is love, peace, and joy.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus died to set us free from the burden of sin.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: May you be a child of God marked by the holiness of your heavenly Father that is available in the Holy Spirit who dwells within you.

- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Synthification is a lifelong process, and one day when we stand before God in the glory of heaven will be fully restored.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: But even here, even in this life, God wants to free us from the weight and bonds of sin.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Have a wonderful rest of your day today and may God bless you as you seek Him.
