- 0:00Carmen Lezeth: Hey everyone, welcome to all about the joy.
- 0:03Carmen Lezeth: I'm not having technical difficulties, but clearly some other people are, but that's okay.
- 0:11Carmen Lezeth: So hopefully Andrea is going to be able to come back.
- 0:13Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, welcome, hi.
- 0:14Carmen Lezeth: Nice to see you again, rick.
- 0:16Carmen Lezeth: As always, my friend, we're waiting for Tommy.
- 0:19Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if he's going to log on today.
- 0:21Carmen Lezeth: He said he wanted to be on the show and Andrea, oh, oh my God, tommy, I didn't see you.
- 0:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm so sorry, Hi.
- 0:28Carmen Lezeth: I just joined just like a second ago, or were you online for a long time?
- 0:32Tommy Lee: No, just a second ago.
- 0:34Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so speak amongst yourselves.
- 0:37Tommy Lee: Let me just text Andrea, because walk amongst yourselves, walk, walk while forming desert.
- 0:44Tommy Lee: Gets puppy, puppy.
- 0:48Tommy Lee: Where's the puppy?
- 0:50Rick Costa: No, right behind him.
- 0:51Tommy Lee: No, it's not puppy, it's pain in the ass puppy.
- 0:54Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, you got your hair cut.
- 0:55Tommy Lee: It looks so good, I started my new job this week.
- 0:59Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, oh my God, how did it?
- 1:01Tommy Lee: go.
- 1:02Tommy Lee: Well, let's just say I can't report.
- 1:05Tommy Lee: I had my one on one with the big, the big boss today and she's like I've heard nothing but good things about you.
- 1:14Tommy Lee: And then after that meeting I had another team's meeting with the recruiter and we're down.
- 1:22Tommy Lee: One person in our Fall River office Okay, she said she got 90 applicants for that position, the position you have.
- 1:30Tommy Lee: Yes.
- 1:32Carmen Lezeth: Yes, okay, wait, let me introduce you because you know what I made an assumption, because I know Cynthia loves you and everything.
- 1:38Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, tommy, tommy, cynthia and then Andrea.
- 1:43Carmen Lezeth: This is Tommy Lee.
- 1:45Tommy Lee: Hello Andrea.
- 1:46Carmen Lezeth: Hi Andrea.
- 1:48Carmen Lezeth: What we were trying to say to you but you logged off too quick was you should just use your phone.
- 1:52Carmen Lezeth: That's what Cynthia and Tommy are using.
- 1:54Carmen Lezeth: It's so much easier.
- 1:55Tommy Lee: Easier.
- 1:56Carmen Lezeth: And it just becomes really clear, and then we can hear you Sorry, love you but not doing it.
- 2:02Andrea Nunez: There is no app.
- 2:03Carmen Lezeth: No, there's no app.
- 2:04Carmen Lezeth: You just go to the link.
- 2:05Carmen Lezeth: I love you, but what?
- 2:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God damn stream.
- 2:10Carmen Lezeth: So I can't see you in edit.
- 2:12Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, bitch.
- 2:13Carmen Lezeth: Like what are you?
- 2:13Cynthia Lopez: talking about.
- 2:16Andrea Nunez: I just assumed it was like an app and it was like a whole thing.
- 2:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah so, Tommy Lee this is my best friend, the one who just said why I'm not downloading an app.
- 2:29Tommy Lee: I love you, but yeah, I love you, but I'm not downloading an app.
- 2:34Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but we're back to looking up at your nose, which you said you didn't like.
- 2:39Tommy Lee: I know, hold on, I have to fix my other.
- 2:41Tommy Lee: My other thing was seriously, you would think this was the first time we're streaming people.
- 2:45Carmen Lezeth: What the freak Like?
- 2:48Carmen Lezeth: How are we going to have conversations?
- 2:51Andrea Nunez: I'm just in a different location.
- 2:52Andrea Nunez: This is not my fault.
- 2:55Carmen Lezeth: All right, why do you throw?
- 2:56Carmen Lezeth: It's okay, anyways, okay, so go on, tommy Lee.
- 2:59Carmen Lezeth: So you.
- 3:00Carmen Lezeth: They had 90 applicants.
- 3:03Tommy Lee: So yeah.
- 3:03Tommy Lee: So the recruit was like so, do you like it here?
- 3:06Tommy Lee: She's like I know it's only been day four and everybody in human resources has been out and you've been kind of trying to hold down the fort by yourself or maybe with one other person and I was like no, no, no, it's great, I really like it a lot.
- 3:18Tommy Lee: She's like really.
- 3:20Tommy Lee: And I said, yeah, why?
- 3:21Tommy Lee: And she's like well, because we were nervous that you weren't going to like it, but we've heard nothing but good things about you.
- 3:26Tommy Lee: So I just took that job and I unposted it and took all those 90 applicants and put them on the back burner, just in case you want to stay after.
- 3:36Tommy Lee: I'm only a contract for five months.
- 3:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but five months, and then you know she's going to have to take care of her children.
- 3:45Carmen Lezeth: That she's having right Because it's maternity leave, and then they're going to like you better.
- 3:49Carmen Lezeth: Then they're going to give you a.
- 3:51Carmen Lezeth: They're going to then give you a raise and a new position.
- 3:55Carmen Lezeth: You'll be her boss.
- 3:56Carmen Lezeth: That's the way it works.
- 3:58Tommy Lee: Well see, I went, I got to them through an agency, so they're actually paying the agency and the agency is paying me right yeah, but they like, they low balls me and I was like, oh, hell to the no.
- 4:11Carmen Lezeth: Well, you know how that works.
- 4:12Carmen Lezeth: You know how that works, so they're paying the agency quite a bit of money.
- 4:16Carmen Lezeth: Now, andrea used to work in recruiting, so you know right so that my agency worked with them.
- 4:23Tommy Lee: I work in human resources, but I've worked with this agency on both sides of the table, either as working with them to recruit people or if I needed a job and they would help me find a job.
- 4:35Tommy Lee: So they said you know what we're going to make up the differential.
- 4:38Carmen Lezeth: The agency is paying the differential for what I said to what you should be getting, which is like that's huge, that's huge, I have never heard of them doing that.
- 4:48Tommy Lee: I've never heard of that either, ever.
- 4:51Carmen Lezeth: Well, congratulations, that's awesome.
- 4:53Carmen Lezeth: I'm so happy for you and, and I hope, it's just a great experience.
- 4:56Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I actually want to talk about a few things.
- 4:59Carmen Lezeth: Today, I think I sent you all an email with a little bit of information.
- 5:03Carmen Lezeth: So, whether or not you watched or even liked the hip hop 50th anniversary thing of a jiggy, what I was letting you all know is that at the end the I mean it wasn't a surprise we all knew Will Smith, dj Jazzy, jeff and the Fresh Prince were going to end the show by playing some of their favorite or our favorite hits or whatever, but also the ones that want that one them their their first Grammys, and they were the first group to win Grammys that were in the hip hop genre, so that's why they had lent the show.
- 5:34Carmen Lezeth: So my question was because I thought it was interesting.
- 5:37Carmen Lezeth: I didn't know how I felt about it.
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how you all felt about it, but while I was watching it live, when he came on, I was a little bit sad, like I was enjoying the music because the song Summertime is so good.
- 5:51Carmen Lezeth: But all of that music, you know, brings you back, okay.
- 5:54Carmen Lezeth: So here's the question how do you guys feel about Will Smith at this point in time.
- 5:58Carmen Lezeth: I was surprised that everybody really embraced him.
- 6:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how I feel about it.
- 6:03Carmen Lezeth: It was hard to not enjoy the music and I started thinking like why am I so still thinking about it?
- 6:09Carmen Lezeth: You know about what happened at the Oscars and why does it matter anymore?
- 6:14Rick Costa: I mean I didn't watch it, but I saw like highlights of them Because on one of the platforms I use it was like hashtag Will and what's the other?
- 6:24Rick Costa: Dj Jazzy Jeff.
- 6:26Carmen Lezeth: DJ Jazzy Jeff.
- 6:27Rick Costa: And so I was like, oh, what's that about?
- 6:28Rick Costa: I didn't even realize.
- 6:29Rick Costa: And then I was like, oh yeah.
- 6:30Rick Costa: And they were like that's my jam.
- 6:32Rick Costa: And people get all excited and like, oh my gosh, I love these songs.
- 6:35Rick Costa: I remember just bringing it back and everybody was so happy and they're like, yeah, that's how you end up.
- 6:39Rick Costa: Was it at the end that they did that?
- 6:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, they came out at the end, they ended.
- 6:43Rick Costa: Yeah, they were like that's how you end it.
- 6:44Rick Costa: So I was like, oh, that's cool.
- 6:45Rick Costa: I didn't even think about the slap or anything.
- 6:49Rick Costa: I was just like, oh cool, he's doing what he used to do.
- 6:51Rick Costa: I didn't even think about it.
- 6:53Carmen Lezeth: So didn't even phase it all, cynthia.
- 6:56Cynthia Lopez: I think he's probably trying to redeem himself and just bringing back the good memories that people had of him by doing all the old songs.
- 7:04Carmen Lezeth: Well, no, he had to do the old song.
- 7:06Carmen Lezeth: I mean, he didn't have to, but the whole point was he was the first hip hop artist to win a Grammy, so they asked him to come back for that reason, because it was a big deal.
- 7:15Carmen Lezeth: It was the 50th anniversary of hip hop.
- 7:17Cynthia Lopez: Yeah, I didn't watch it, but I don't know.
- 7:20Cynthia Lopez: I think he's trying to redeem himself, I think.
- 7:24Cynthia Lopez: But I think the damage is kind of done.
- 7:26Carmen Lezeth: How do you feel about him, though?
- 7:27Carmen Lezeth: You say the damage is kind of done Like will you go to a movie of his in the future?
- 7:31Cynthia Lopez: I mean, I probably would, but I think that his whole persona, or like the way people just see him now, is just a little different.
- 7:40Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 7:41Carmen Lezeth: Tell me what you think.
- 7:43Tommy Lee: I agree with Cynthia to a certain degree.
- 7:45Tommy Lee: I'm all about forgiving and forgetting.
- 7:48Tommy Lee: I'm all about giving second and third chances.
- 7:50Tommy Lee: I think this is well twofold.
- 7:52Tommy Lee: I agree with you, carmen, that, yeah, it was the 50th anniversary first one to win the Grammy, so it only makes sense to have him come back, but I also think that was also a redeeming moment for him.
- 8:05Tommy Lee: I think you're going to have the people that are you know it's.
- 8:10Tommy Lee: You're going to have the people that like him, that are always going to like him.
- 8:13Tommy Lee: You're going to have the people that are going to dislike him because of the Academy Awards, and then you're going to have those people in the middle that could be swayed either way.
- 8:23Tommy Lee: Like okay, like, like I I'm like.
- 8:26Tommy Lee: Do I think what he did was wrong?
- 8:28Tommy Lee: Yes, Is he trying to redeem himself?
- 8:31Tommy Lee: Yes, Give the guy a break.
- 8:32Tommy Lee: At the end of the day, he's still extremely talented.
- 8:38Tommy Lee: I think if he comes out with another blockbuster movie, people are going to sway more to liking him.
- 8:43Tommy Lee: That's my thought process.
- 8:46Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I think for me because I was just thinking about this and this kind of goes with everything else in my life.
- 8:52Carmen Lezeth: When I think about forgiveness, I think part of the problem for me is Chris Rock hasn't forgiven him.
- 8:58Carmen Lezeth: Not that it's any of my business, you know what I mean.
- 9:01Carmen Lezeth: But Chris Rock went on a rampage with that whole, you know, with his old comedic thing or whatever, and he had every right to do whatever he wanted to do.
- 9:08Carmen Lezeth: And I think for me there was almost like there was no ending to it.
- 9:13Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 9:13Carmen Lezeth: So it's still lingering, so I can't let it.
- 9:15Carmen Lezeth: So I, so I haven't forgotten about it.
- 9:17Carmen Lezeth: Look, there are people like Robert Downey Jr, right, who we all revere because of Iron man, and people forget that Keanu Reeves was hated in the beginning of his career.
- 9:29Carmen Lezeth: I think for me there's that part of it that I know Chris Rock is not done with it.
- 9:33Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 9:34Carmen Lezeth: Like I think that's the other part of it.
- 9:36Carmen Lezeth: And then I loved him because I thought he had you know the way his persona was all about.
- 9:43Carmen Lezeth: He always had these words of wisdom, remember, he was always doing like these life uplifting, life coachy type of things, and you had this idea of him not having a perfect life but having his stuff together.
- 9:56Carmen Lezeth: And boy was that shattered on.
- 9:59Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know he's human, but it was just bad.
- 10:02Carmen Lezeth: I'm listening.
- 10:03Carmen Lezeth: Can I add to that though?
- 10:04Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, go ahead.
- 10:06Tommy Lee: Now I don't know if this is true or false or just you know, like the National Enquirer trying to find bad press, but I read something that him and Jada have not been together for a long time, They've been separated and they kind of have an open marriage and yeah, I have no idea, it's too much info.
- 10:27Tommy Lee: Their persona is like this perfect, happy married couple, and it's not.
- 10:33Tommy Lee: And then?
- 10:34Tommy Lee: So what's true and what isn't?
- 10:37Carmen Lezeth: I think it's too much info to tell you like I don't want to know all that.
- 10:41Tommy Lee: I don't want to know what goes on in their personal life.
- 10:43Carmen Lezeth: I don't really care, yeah but we all know, because they've put it out there, Well see that's my points, like, especially after that.
- 10:52Tommy Lee: why would you add something else on top of that?
- 10:55Tommy Lee: Yeah, I don't know.
- 10:58Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, you mean for him doing the show.
- 11:00Tommy Lee: No, for you know the whole thing about the two of them being separated and having an open marriage and like why would you?
- 11:09Carmen Lezeth: Because she keeps talking about it?
- 11:11Carmen Lezeth: Because she had a book, she wrote a whole book, and that's like.
- 11:14Cynthia Lopez: Every time some type of secret or anything about the relationship comes out is because there's a book coming out, or she's promoting her Facebook live, her red table talk show or something, or she's promoting her kids.
- 11:29Cynthia Lopez: Whatever they're doing, there's always something behind every type of secret that she lets out.
- 11:36Tommy Lee: I think it's her.
- 11:37Tommy Lee: Honestly, if I had to point a finger at somebody, I'm gonna point it at her.
- 11:41Tommy Lee: Even though I know there's three more pointing back at me.
- 11:45Tommy Lee: I'm still like y'all know-.
- 11:47Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, no, no, no, no.
- 11:48Carmen Lezeth: Like to me it's more about like I'm more upset that my enjoyment of him is filtered through something.
- 11:55Carmen Lezeth: It's damage, you know, and it's kind of like I told Rick before, when we were watching X-Files back in the day I loved X-Files.
- 12:02Carmen Lezeth: I would change my schedule because back then it wasn't about re-streaming.
- 12:06Carmen Lezeth: And I remember being in love with the show and then having to hear that they were fighting about salaries.
- 12:13Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 12:15Carmen Lezeth: And I remember David DeCovne was threatening and he ended up leaving because he wasn't getting paid what he wanted or whatever, and I was like done with the show because it was too much information, you know.
- 12:24Carmen Lezeth: But my real question is it's not even really about them too, but like well, what does forgiveness mean to you?
- 12:31Carmen Lezeth: That's where I really wanna start.
- 12:32Carmen Lezeth: What does forgiveness not about Will Smith, but in our own lives what does forgiveness mean?
- 12:39Cynthia Lopez: Yeah, it's just being able to move on from the situation and having that space in your mind not eat away at you, just kind of letting it go.
- 12:48Carmen Lezeth: I think that sounds good, but can we actually ever really do that, can I?
- 12:53Carmen Lezeth: Mm-hmm, you don't have to raise your hand, oh my God.
- 12:59Tommy Lee: I'm gonna say this to you Eight years later after my divorce, I'm still struggling with it.
- 13:05Rick Costa: Ooh.
- 13:06Tommy Lee: Yeah, because there were things that were said and done to me that most people would say are unforgivable.
- 13:14Tommy Lee: And that's my struggle, because the things that were done to me anybody would say were unforgivable.
- 13:21Tommy Lee: But I try to look at it in a different way, like Cynthia said, and I'm gonna piggyback off of what you said.
- 13:30Tommy Lee: That was a part of your life, that happened to me, whatever happens to you in your life for that reason, to get you to where you are today.
- 13:39Tommy Lee: So maybe that setback was to get me to where I am today.
- 13:45Tommy Lee: So I don't know if I can forgive that person.
- 13:49Tommy Lee: I don't regret, I'm not angry, I just I'm living with it.
- 13:56Tommy Lee: Right, it's like when I never had to wear glasses before and all of a sudden my eye turned 40 and I needed glasses to read.
- 14:03Tommy Lee: So now I live with that and truthfully, I know that sounds funny, but that's how I equate it.
- 14:12Tommy Lee: Oh, that was good.
- 14:14Carmen Lezeth: That was good.
- 14:15Tommy Lee: You know?
- 14:16Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I know, I love that, rick.
- 14:18Carmen Lezeth: What do you think about it?
- 14:20Rick Costa: So if you can be in the same room as that person that really hurts you and not be freaking out, then you've probably gotten to the level where you can say you've forgiven them.
- 14:32Rick Costa: Now I don't believe in forget, because you can't forget.
- 14:35Rick Costa: Like, what do you do?
- 14:36Rick Costa: Scrub your brain Like it's there.
- 14:38Rick Costa: You can't not remember what happened to you.
- 14:40Rick Costa: But if you could be in the same room with them and not be steaming mad and thinking about it, then you probably reach forgiveness.
- 14:47Rick Costa: Me when I grew up I hated my dad's guts, like I hated him.
- 14:52Rick Costa: He was one of the reasons I wanted, why I wanted to kill myself.
- 14:54Rick Costa: He was the main reason, honestly, and I hated his guts.
- 14:58Rick Costa: And then I got to the point where like, okay, I gotta forgive.
- 15:00Rick Costa: You know, I had the whole religious awakening thing, but then it was hard.
- 15:04Rick Costa: But then eventually I got to the point where I'm like, okay, and I could see, okay, alcohol.
- 15:09Rick Costa: And then he had no alcohol for a few years because the doctor said your body's so messed up we might have to cut your leg off.
- 15:15Rick Costa: And my dad's dad did have his leg cut off, so that freaked him out.
- 15:21Rick Costa: So he stopped drinking, he stopped smoking.
- 15:23Rick Costa: He was a good boy for a few years and then I was like, hold up, this is literally an entirely different person I'm dealing with now.
- 15:32Rick Costa: And I was like this is what I could have had if he didn't drink all the time.
- 15:35Rick Costa: So then I kind of separated alcohol dad and I was like I hate the alcohol.
- 15:42Rick Costa: I don't really hate my dad, I hate what the alcohol made him to be.
- 15:46Rick Costa: And so then that helped the forgiveness process.
- 15:48Rick Costa: And then, yeah, then by the time you know the time went on, then I was fine, I like I mean.
- 15:53Rick Costa: But again, you can't forget, it's in your brain, you have a memory.
- 15:55Rick Costa: But yeah, if you could be in the room with a person and not be freaking out, then you've probably forgiven.
- 16:01Rick Costa: If you're still, then you're still forgiven.
- 16:05Carmen Lezeth: All right, so Can you do that again please?
- 16:08Tommy Lee: Yeah, Two things Topic for next week.
- 16:13Tommy Lee: We're here now, I know, but I just want you to put this right down, put it on the back.
- 16:19Rick Costa: Put a pin in it.
- 16:21Tommy Lee: Where did I go?
- 16:22Tommy Lee: Like Rick just gave me that, like, oh Jesus, I thought it was Mariah Carey for a minute.
- 16:32Tommy Lee: If you can be in a room with a person and not freak out, that's forgiveness.
- 16:40Tommy Lee: Do you know how much that means to me?
- 16:43Tommy Lee: Because that's what I think.
- 16:45Tommy Lee: If I ever had to be in a room with Scott, like I picture like having to go to a wake or a funeral or something, and there I am walking in and there he is with his 12-year-old boyfriend I don't know who's going to be I'm obviously going to jail.
- 17:03Tommy Lee: He's going to be in the casket next to the person along with his boyfriend, happily ever after, or, and these scenarios run through my head and I'm like, could I just be like?
- 17:13Tommy Lee: Oh hi, nice to see you.
- 17:17Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, when he just said about being in a church, do you know what I thought of when I was walking?
- 17:23Carmen Lezeth: So I'll tell the story.
- 17:26Carmen Lezeth: But it just threw me for a minute, so let me just finish quickly.
- 17:31Tommy Lee: Oh, go ahead.
- 17:31Tommy Lee: So, rick, thank you, because you just gave me the answer that I've been searching for.
- 17:37Tommy Lee: I can be in a room with that person and I can be civil and be an adult and be kind.
- 17:47Carmen Lezeth: You'll be surprised as to how it happens is what I was going to share with you.
- 17:52Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of a similar thing.
- 17:54Carmen Lezeth: I have people in my life that I've dismissed completely.
- 17:57Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia knows who they are and I had to go to a funeral.
- 18:00Carmen Lezeth: Was it a funeral or a wedding?
- 18:01Carmen Lezeth: It was a funeral and I went to the funeral and it's right before the ceremony and I'm walking towards the altar.
- 18:10Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, where were you?
- 18:11Carmen Lezeth: You were with them.
- 18:12Cynthia Lopez: I was right behind you.
- 18:13Cynthia Lopez: And I was walking like strutting my ass and down that aisle like actually owned the place, not just because she was all like yes, the lady is a trap.
- 18:23Carmen Lezeth: No, no, but it's for the white.
- 18:25Carmen Lezeth: Yes, in a Catholic church.
- 18:27Carmen Lezeth: I was just being whatever and they came in through.
- 18:33Carmen Lezeth: I could see them in the corner and it's people I hate and do not talk to loathe, and I knew they were going to be there, but and I don't know.
- 18:45Cynthia Lopez: Cynthia, you could take over the story from there but Cynthia made me that strut turned into a very slow walk.
- 18:51Cynthia Lopez: It was like slow motion and I just came up behind it and I said I saw that.
- 18:58Carmen Lezeth: Because all of a sudden, now you're in a new reality.
- 19:01Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 19:02Tommy Lee: I mean, I guess you don't know until your face, until you're in it.
- 19:06Tommy Lee: But you know what?
- 19:08Carmen Lezeth: You become cordial, and I was cordial and nice, I even hugged them and you know what I mean and you do the proper thing.
- 19:14Carmen Lezeth: I shouldn't say I hate loathe, but at the time you know what I mean.
- 19:17Carmen Lezeth: I don't really talk about them, except right now.
- 19:20Carmen Lezeth: That was just funny Because then Cynthia, afterwards we talked and she was like, oh my god, the whole thing changed.
- 19:26Carmen Lezeth: She was walking in and then all of a sudden, all of you they had walked in the door.
- 19:32Carmen Lezeth: It was no, yeah, I don't know, but I actually don't believe in the cliche of forgiveness, so I'm just going to say it that way.
- 19:42Carmen Lezeth: I actually don't believe that actually has to be a thing.
- 19:45Carmen Lezeth: I think there are things that people say over and over and over again and then we all just believe it Because Oprah said it or whoever said it.
- 19:55Carmen Lezeth: I can still be angry with people who left me on the street.
- 19:58Carmen Lezeth: I can still be upset about that.
- 19:59Carmen Lezeth: Now, does it affect my every day?
- 20:01Carmen Lezeth: Absolutely not.
- 20:02Carmen Lezeth: Hi, tony.
- 20:03Carmen Lezeth: I don't have to chat on sweetheart, so they can't see you.
- 20:07Carmen Lezeth: I can, but I just wanted to put this on the camera, let you know.
- 20:11Carmen Lezeth: I got a phone call of peppermint schnapps in your honor.
- 20:16Carmen Lezeth: Well, when Andrea said it was cheers, I'm actually not drinking it, but I had to get it?
- 20:25Tommy Lee: It's soda water and a wine glass, because my dishwasher's full, so it's on.
- 20:31Carmen Lezeth: I can drink it out of here.
- 20:32Carmen Lezeth: But when Andrea said last week and I could not stop laughing when she said how did you say it?
- 20:39Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry, andre, but you said it's the wine cooler of whiskey, I was like I have got to try it.
- 20:46Carmen Lezeth: But I also wanted to just let Tony know that everyone is welcomed here, white women like Andrea.
- 20:55Carmen Lezeth: Thank you for representing Christians like Rick and also people who drink peach schnapps.
- 21:01Carmen Lezeth: Be who you is, tony.
- 21:06Carmen Lezeth: Be who you is, and I'm not going to let it go because I had to deal with a certain word for like two years.
- 21:12Carmen Lezeth: So that's going to be my thing now and I'm going to bring it up however I can.
- 21:15Andrea Nunez: I was wondering if peach schnapps was going to show up.
- 21:18Andrea Nunez: Oh yeah, it's going to show up every week.
- 21:21Carmen Lezeth: He's in the house.
- 21:21Carmen Lezeth: You know what's funny?
- 21:22Carmen Lezeth: It's funny that I even bought it, Like I actually bought it.
- 21:27Andrea Nunez: When you said that the funniest part is that's not even actually what he was drinking.
- 21:33Carmen Lezeth: But I know he was drinking Crown Royal, but it was peach schnapps, it was the peach one.
- 21:37Carmen Lezeth: Peach schnapps is different than whatever he had.
- 21:39Carmen Lezeth: Andrea, I know, I know, I know what peach schnapps is right.
- 21:43Carmen Lezeth: I did it on purpose.
- 21:48Tommy Lee: They have a different one.
- 21:49Tommy Lee: All I can see is 12-year-old Carmen in front of me and I'm like put that bottle down your head, ok wait.
- 21:57Carmen Lezeth: I told Rick that next week on the show we're going to have Jerry and you.
- 22:02Carmen Lezeth: I told him it cannot be a Carmen Fest, it cannot be oh it's going to be a Carmen Fest.
- 22:08Tommy Lee: Oh, but we're not doing the show.
- 22:10Carmen Lezeth: I'm not going to be on the show.
- 22:10Carmen Lezeth: You and Rick and Jerry can talk, because that's it.
- 22:14Tommy Lee: I talked to him the other day actually, he told me yeah, what You're not going to.
- 22:18Tommy Lee: He's like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:19Tommy Lee: He's like what day?
- 22:19Tommy Lee: I said I don't know you tell me what works for you.
- 22:22Carmen Lezeth: I already told him it's next week, so anyway, it's OK.
- 22:24Carmen Lezeth: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, so Going on.
- 22:26Carmen Lezeth: Let me go back to the forgiveness thing.
- 22:27Carmen Lezeth: So I think it's OK to let people walk away or make a decision that toxicity is not supposed to be in your life.
- 22:35Carmen Lezeth: That's a whole different thing.
- 22:36Carmen Lezeth: Do I forgive people?
- 22:39Carmen Lezeth: I wish them well.
- 22:41Carmen Lezeth: I feel like this forgiveness thing is more in my life, a Catholic thing that I have to do or I'm supposed to do.
- 22:49Carmen Lezeth: And OK, if forgiveness means letting people live their life and wishing them well and not having them in my life, then I've done it well, but I don't forget and I don't like those people and I think that's OK.
- 23:03Carmen Lezeth: That is OK 100%.
- 23:07Tommy Lee: OK, you don't have to forgive and you certainly don't have to forget, but, most importantly and this is just my thinking of it you don't have to have bad people in your life that are going to bring you down.
- 23:20Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:21Tommy Lee: And sometimes you just need to let people go Right Regardless of what they did, and if you try to retaliate, that just makes you worse.
- 23:31Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, Then that's the thing, Then you haven't let it go, then you've got to let it go.
- 23:36Carmen Lezeth: That's the Rick thing, no.
- 23:40Tommy Lee: Like, the best thing you did was to say, OK, I'm taking down the comments, Because that individual was clearly looking to push buttons.
- 23:47Tommy Lee: Oh yeah.
- 23:48Carmen Lezeth: Right.
- 23:49Carmen Lezeth: But now unfortunately now we're getting other comments.
- 23:52Carmen Lezeth: So, hi, brian, and you guys can't see them.
- 23:55Carmen Lezeth: It was just because nobody else was commenting yet, because it takes people time to get here.
- 23:58Carmen Lezeth: But, andrea, I mean I could put the comments back on, but now there's not going to be any comments.
- 24:03Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to put them back on, andrea.
- 24:05Carmen Lezeth: Welcome, hi.
- 24:08Andrea Nunez: Sorry, wait a minute, my space Hi.
- 24:13Carmen Lezeth: Hi, yeah.
- 24:13Carmen Lezeth: What are you going to disturb Walter if you answer questions?
- 24:17Andrea Nunez: I kicked him out for a little while.
- 24:19Andrea Nunez: Ok, so I have a little bit of time, but there's probably a second comment.
- 24:26Andrea Nunez: Yes, andrea.
- 24:28Carmen Lezeth: Wait.
- 24:28Carmen Lezeth: How do you feel about forgiveness, Andrea?
- 24:35Andrea Nunez: I would say I think I feel pretty similar to how you described it right, Like I mean, you know me, I can't.
- 24:45Andrea Nunez: There are certain things I can't let go.
- 24:47Andrea Nunez: Ooh, oh, oh.
- 24:49Andrea Nunez: I'm gonna keep that between me and you, but yeah, no.
- 24:53Carmen Lezeth: I don't.
- 24:54Andrea Nunez: Well, everybody already knows that story.
- 24:56Andrea Nunez: But I'm the same way, yeah, but I do.
- 24:59Andrea Nunez: I mean I can let people go and wish them well and, frankly, not really think about them again.
- 25:06Andrea Nunez: You know what I mean.
- 25:07Andrea Nunez: Like that's, and if that's what we want to call forgiveness.
- 25:10Andrea Nunez: You know I'm not like walking around carrying like hate in my heart for them.
- 25:14Andrea Nunez: But if I talk about, maybe, a situation, I can still be mad about it, I can still get worked up about it or whatever, but I'm not thinking about them every day In a situation where, you know I have forgiven people in the past few and far between, like a real, actual forgiveness.
- 25:32Andrea Nunez: That's something that I come to on my own.
- 25:35Andrea Nunez: It's a case by case basis and you know I will actually have that conversation and see if the relationship can move forward.
- 25:42Andrea Nunez: But you know sometimes I can't and that's fine.
- 25:45Tommy Lee: You know.
- 25:45Tommy Lee: Well, going back to what Andrea just said, when I said put it off for next week, can you forgive somebody and then, if they come back and do it again, what do you do?
- 25:53Carmen Lezeth: Oh no, oh God, I have a three time rules.
- 25:56Carmen Lezeth: It's like baseball, yeah.
- 25:58Tommy Lee: Oh, my God.
- 25:59Carmen Lezeth: You get three times.
- 26:00Carmen Lezeth: After that you're done, you're out of my life and you can ask many people who no longer talk to me, who hate me, how many times I'm done.
- 26:06Carmen Lezeth: I'm done three times, yep, that's how I am.
- 26:10Tommy Lee: I give you three chances and that's it.
- 26:11Tommy Lee: I even do it at work.
- 26:12Tommy Lee: First time, I'm gonna give you a verbal warning.
- 26:14Tommy Lee: Second time, you're getting a written warning.
- 26:16Tommy Lee: Third time, you're out the door.
- 26:21Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna get a verbal warning from Tommy about my friend.
- 26:25Cynthia Lopez: It's a written one, Andrea.
- 26:26Cynthia Lopez: How about me now?
- 26:28Carmen Lezeth: Cynthia, what about you?
- 26:29Carmen Lezeth: What about you?
- 26:29Carmen Lezeth: I almost want to answer for you, but go ahead.
- 26:32Cynthia Lopez: Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
- 26:34Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no, you forgive everybody, you are nice.
- 26:37Carmen Lezeth: No, actually I know you want me to bring up some examples Just to tell you guys, I think it's different between families and friendships.
- 26:46Carmen Lezeth: Yes, okay, that's, and you know what I'm talking about.
- 26:50Rick Costa: Yeah, that's a good question.
- 26:52Carmen Lezeth: I don't differentiate.
- 26:53Carmen Lezeth: Family would be a good word.
- 26:59Andrea Nunez: I fear more on being forgiving of my friends and my family.
- 27:04Tommy Lee: Now see, andrea, I'm the opposite.
- 27:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, we gotta let Cynthia talk, because I interrupted her first.
- 27:09Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, cynthia.
- 27:11Cynthia Lopez: Oh no no, I'm just.
- 27:13Cynthia Lopez: It is different with family and friends.
- 27:15Cynthia Lopez: Like when I become friends with people, I'll tell them like I can be your best friend.
- 27:25Cynthia Lopez: I could be your ride or die, but you fuck me over once and I'm done.
- 27:29Cynthia Lopez: Family is a little different.
- 27:31Cynthia Lopez: Yeah, friend one and done.
- 27:36Tommy Lee: So here's my question to you Do you say that because you can choose your friends, but you cannot choose your family?
- 27:43Cynthia Lopez: Oh, you can still choose your family.
- 27:44Cynthia Lopez: Go ahead.
- 27:45Cynthia Lopez: I taught her well.
- 27:46Cynthia Lopez: I taught her well.
- 27:46Cynthia Lopez: I taught her well.
- 27:46Cynthia Lopez: I taught her well, I taught her well.
- 27:48Cynthia Lopez: It's just, in my case, like I have a very small family, so I don't see them that often.
- 27:56Cynthia Lopez: There's a couple I talk to almost every day, but I tend to keep my distance.
- 28:03Cynthia Lopez: If they've wronged me or done or sent anything wrong to me, I keep my distance.
- 28:09Cynthia Lopez: Like I said, I'll still be cordial with them, I'll still.
- 28:13Cynthia Lopez: If we go out to dinner or whatever, I'll be fine, but I won't interact with them as much as I will another family member.
- 28:20Carmen Lezeth: See, and I wouldn't even step foot in and have dinner with people.
- 28:22Carmen Lezeth: That pissed me off.
- 28:23Carmen Lezeth: I just won't even do it.
- 28:24Carmen Lezeth: See, that's what I mean.
- 28:25Carmen Lezeth: You're able to do that.
- 28:27Carmen Lezeth: I'm like you messed up with me.
- 28:29Carmen Lezeth: I cannot even be in your presence.
- 28:31Carmen Lezeth: We are not having dinner at all.
- 28:33Carmen Lezeth: Like I'm just gonna yell and scream at you the whole time.
- 28:37Cynthia Lopez: It'll take a while but I'll end up going out or hang out with them, but it will take a while.
- 28:42Tommy Lee: I'm really glad that we're having this conversation, because I was thinking about this the other day.
- 28:46Tommy Lee: I'm gonna backtrack a little bit.
- 28:50Carmen Lezeth: Okay, but then we're gonna let Rick chime in.
- 28:52Tommy Lee: Yeah, and I'll make it very brief.
- 28:54Tommy Lee: Somebody that I trusted did me wrong, who happened to be a family member only by marriage.
- 29:03Tommy Lee: In fact, you matched with her in Blessed Sacrament.
- 29:06Carmen Lezeth: Well, you might as well just tell me who it is, because I don't know who it is.
- 29:09Tommy Lee: Sandra, who Sandra capital, yeah, I don't know who anybody is.
- 29:14Cynthia Lopez: Who are the ones?
- 29:14Tommy Lee: that need to pick Sure Lightning both Lightning both.
- 29:19Tommy Lee: Here I should have said you should show me who it is.
- 29:26Carmen Lezeth: Is she on our Facebook?
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: I hope not, cause she might see this.
- 29:30Tommy Lee: I'm not friends with her on Facebook anymore.
- 29:32Tommy Lee: I don't speak to her anymore.
- 29:34Tommy Lee: I deleted her number, I blocked her and then when who is it?
- 29:38Carmen Lezeth: Sandra?
- 29:39Carmen Lezeth: Who?
- 29:40Tommy Lee: Capital Lupo it's the same.
- 29:41Tommy Lee: It might have been.
- 29:42Tommy Lee: It was Capital Lupo at the time, cause she wasn't married.
- 29:46Carmen Lezeth: I just have to see if I know who it is.
- 29:48Carmen Lezeth: It was the purple gold blackie with the lightning.
- 29:51Tommy Lee: No, it doesn't even matter, I don't remember.
- 29:53Tommy Lee: Well anyway, and there's actually.
- 29:55Tommy Lee: I watched the video a couple of weeks ago and you and her were like side by side.
- 29:59Tommy Lee: I was like, oh, fuck my life right now, really oh geez?
- 30:05Carmen Lezeth: Is it Sandra Don Nadela?
- 30:07Carmen Lezeth: I don't know who they are.
- 30:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't even have that person on here, cause they only have three sandras.
- 30:12Tommy Lee: I'll show you a picture of her.
- 30:14Rick Costa: Yeah, I know.
- 30:14Tommy Lee: Okay, let's talk about her.
- 30:15Carmen Lezeth: Let's talk about her.
- 30:18Tommy Lee: But anyway, when I went to visit my brother in South Carolina a couple of we did like a family reunion in South Carolina, and I said to my brother and she does not like my brother, who's married to my sister-in-law, nancy, who you know, and she was like she should have divorced him a long time ago, when I tell you it took every ounce of energy in my body not to read her up one side and down the other.
- 30:46Tommy Lee: And I said to my brother when she comes, cause we were having our sit down family you know reunion dinner, I said there's 25 people here, why does she have to sit next to me?
- 30:59Tommy Lee: She was the one who opened her big mouth to my head and which made everything yeah, oh my God.
- 31:10Carmen Lezeth: So that's why you blocked her and she's out.
- 31:12Tommy Lee: So when we talk about going back to what we said, we talk about can you forgive somebody?
- 31:18Tommy Lee: I can forgive, but I gotta be honest with you guys this is one person I cannot forgive.
- 31:25Tommy Lee: I can't even look at her Because I know the next time I look at her I'm like I'm 60 years old, fuck her.
- 31:37Cynthia Lopez: Tommy's like I'm going to jail tonight.
- 31:42Tommy Lee: I was like I think about it Sometimes.
- 31:45Carmen Lezeth: I think about it and I'm like, see, so that's where it becomes an interesting thing, like so, so, so that Rick, you're next, because I'm going to stop talking.
- 31:54Carmen Lezeth: Okay, and I am too.
- 31:55Carmen Lezeth: But listen go get more water.
- 31:57Carmen Lezeth: Okay, go ahead.
- 31:58Carmen Lezeth: So.
- 31:59Carmen Lezeth: So here's the thing about water, right Water.
- 32:04Tommy Lee: Yeah, yeah, we Wash is full.
- 32:06Tommy Lee: I have to take a while.
- 32:07Tommy Lee: I'm the cabinet Because I just watch this fall.
- 32:12Carmen Lezeth: Tommy, go get the water Go running.
- 32:14Carmen Lezeth: I'll be right back.
- 32:15Carmen Lezeth: I love him, um, but that's the thing about.
- 32:21Carmen Lezeth: That's where I think the forgiveness is a problem, right, if you can't, if it's eating up at you, if it's, you know.
- 32:27Carmen Lezeth: But, rick, wait till he comes back and then we'll chat.
- 32:29Carmen Lezeth: I want to hear what your thoughts are on issues that you've had or whatever.
- 32:33Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know you just talked about your dad.
- 32:35Carmen Lezeth: Uh, brian just said I'll get a new bottle of bourbon, be right back Peach.
- 32:39Carmen Lezeth: Peech Moms Flavor, whatever.
- 32:44Rick Costa: You want to hear something funny.
- 32:45Rick Costa: Somebody texted me one of my ex-wife's friends and said do you think that there's a possibility that your marriage might ever be restored?
- 32:53Rick Costa: And I said I was like what?
- 32:57Rick Costa: But then I was like well, right now I'm too busy dealing with my mom and everything and that's nowhere on my radar.
- 33:04Rick Costa: And she replied you have the most diplomatic way of saying no, right.
- 33:12Carmen Lezeth: Well, I mean, was this recent?
- 33:14Carmen Lezeth: Was this a recent?
- 33:15Rick Costa: Not super recent.
- 33:16Rick Costa: I came across it in my text.
- 33:18Rick Costa: Not that recent recent.
- 33:20Carmen Lezeth: Wait.
- 33:21Cynthia Lopez: Cynthia White.
- 33:21Cynthia Lopez: Oh, no, I was responding to Brian.
- 33:23Cynthia Lopez: I know it was Tony who had the peach.
- 33:25Rick Costa: Oh, yeah, oh yeah.
- 33:27Carmen Lezeth: Drinking Long ombre.
- 33:28Carmen Lezeth: Chica Snaps, snaps.
- 33:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I'm just messing with him.
- 33:31Carmen Lezeth: And, jay, you thought I didn't know what peach snaps was?
- 33:33Carmen Lezeth: No, I knew, you knew.
- 33:35Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I was just messing with him because I had, like I was waiting for the moment, waiting for the moment.
- 33:41Carmen Lezeth: But, rick, how do you feel about the word forgiveness?
- 33:46Carmen Lezeth: Just in general, and first, family versus friendships.
- 33:50Rick Costa: I mean, forgiveness is a good thing, I think, because I don't want anybody to have real estate living in my head rent free, Like I don't want that.
- 33:58Rick Costa: So like my dad was all consuming, Like I couldn't stop thinking about him when I hated him because it was like it was just ridiculous.
- 34:05Rick Costa: And as far as family and friends, I mean friends you can get away from pretty easily.
- 34:12Rick Costa: Family it's a little more difficult, so I might give family a little bit more grace, but I'm kind of equal opportunity offended, Like either way.
- 34:21Carmen Lezeth: I think, like Cynthia, you and Cynthia have similarities Cause I've seen you go through some stuff recently with some relationships and like and I hurt for you, right, cause it like for me there's an easy turnoff switch which people hate that about me, but I can easily turn you off in two seconds and I'm done.
- 34:41Carmen Lezeth: I think, everyone on haps has seen me do that.
- 34:45Rick Costa: I am well aware, yeah.
- 34:47Carmen Lezeth: Well aware that I will just walk out.
- 34:48Carmen Lezeth: No, there's no one who doesn't know that I, that I am like that, but I think that's also a survival mechanism.
- 34:53Carmen Lezeth: That's how I was able to get through.
- 34:55Carmen Lezeth: Whatever I had to get through was being able to know that certain people were doing something one way and then being able to push them aside and move to the other, you know, to the other person or whoever could get me to the next step or whatever.
- 35:06Carmen Lezeth: So I wish more people could do that.
- 35:09Carmen Lezeth: I do, and it's not that I don't have feelings or that I don't have regret about I'm sorry.
- 35:14Tommy Lee: I wish I could be more like you.
- 35:16Carmen Lezeth: It has its good and bad parts to it.
- 35:18Carmen Lezeth: I told the story a couple of or maybe a few live streams ago that you know.
- 35:24Carmen Lezeth: That happened with me and my friend, todd, and then I found out this past year, like we didn't talk, we had a big blowout which I don't even remember what it was about.
- 35:31Carmen Lezeth: And then I was talking that I found out, like that day when I was doing the stream, that he had died in January of this year, which was weird.
- 35:39Carmen Lezeth: We hadn't talked in like years, but every once in a while I would check because I missed him as a friend.
- 35:44Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I would check with friends.
- 35:46Carmen Lezeth: But then something happened which I still don't remember.
- 35:49Carmen Lezeth: He didn't want to talk to me anymore but I stopped trying, you know, because I was like, all right, well, fuck you too.
- 35:53Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 35:54Carmen Lezeth: Like I want to tell you and I am able to do that, but there is something I think that you lose in not being able to sometimes.
- 36:03Carmen Lezeth: I'll just say it.
- 36:04Carmen Lezeth: I don't always want to talk things out, like, once those three times are over, I'm done and I'm not perfect.
- 36:12Carmen Lezeth: Maybe I need grace too.
- 36:14Carmen Lezeth: If I've done something wrong three times, would it be okay if maybe Andrea didn't forgive me if I did something to her.
- 36:20Carmen Lezeth: Well, okay, so that's a little bit different, right?
- 36:22Carmen Lezeth: So people have been in my life for a long time.
- 36:24Carmen Lezeth: They could probably do anything and I would still show up, you know what I mean.
- 36:29Andrea Nunez: Like I can do an example.
- 36:31Carmen Lezeth: It's really bad to me and I would still.
- 36:32Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 36:34Tommy Lee: I can give an example of something that's currently going on.
- 36:37Carmen Lezeth: Okay, you know this is live, right, I just want you to know this is live.
- 36:41Carmen Lezeth: Everyone can see this.
- 36:43Carmen Lezeth: Okay, just want to be clear, you understand.
- 36:46Tommy Lee: Well, I can mention names because nobody knows them.
- 36:47Tommy Lee: So I have two friends.
- 36:49Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no, but it's not just us.
- 36:50Carmen Lezeth: You know, everyone on Facebook will see this, right, I do.
- 36:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, go ahead, all right, good.
- 36:57Tommy Lee: So I have two friends.
- 36:59Tommy Lee: One I grew up with, that I've known since I was probably seven or eight years old.
- 37:04Tommy Lee: We were friends.
- 37:05Tommy Lee: You know we grew up together in the same neighborhood.
- 37:08Tommy Lee: You know you go separate ways, different schools.
- 37:11Tommy Lee: What have you?
- 37:12Tommy Lee: And then we reconnected again my other friend who I went to high school with.
- 37:16Tommy Lee: We were friends for 40 plus years.
- 37:19Tommy Lee: We've had a lot of good times together and I can honestly truly say that we had more good times than bad times.
- 37:27Tommy Lee: I just think life is that curve ball.
- 37:32Carmen Lezeth: You know, you have to tell us what happened, what you have to tell us what happened.
- 37:36Tommy Lee: We just, I guess we just, you know, as we got older, life threw us that curve ball and we kind of grew apart.
- 37:43Tommy Lee: Now that doesn't mean that we're not ever going to be friends again, like we were hanging out and talking like every single solitary day and, you know, going out and doing things, but I think it's kind of.
- 37:58Carmen Lezeth: I guess my.
- 37:58Carmen Lezeth: Where are you going with this?
- 37:59Carmen Lezeth: What does this have to do with forgiveness?
- 38:02Tommy Lee: I think you need to have that break to realize what you miss.
- 38:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's what some friendships.
- 38:08Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if I believe that completely.
- 38:10Carmen Lezeth: Well, that's why I'm that's why I'm throwing it out there.
- 38:14Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I thought I was waiting for like, and then she slept with my man.
- 38:21Rick Costa: I was like where's the scandal?
- 38:22Carmen Lezeth: I don't wear it.
- 38:23Carmen Lezeth: We're waiting for some cause.
- 38:25Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 38:25Carmen Lezeth: Let me tell you something, tommy, tommy Lee, let me tell you something you are a really good storyteller, except when you don't give us the juice, like you don't give us like.
- 38:34Carmen Lezeth: Here's this great beginning.
- 38:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm always going to leave you hanging.
- 38:38Carmen Lezeth: Let me move to the next topic.
- 38:39Carmen Lezeth: I want to talk about Oprah for a moment, because I don't want to actually talk about Oprah.
- 38:43Carmen Lezeth: I want to talk about the revelation that came out.
- 38:46Carmen Lezeth: So everyone who has seen Oprah, look at the movie color purples coming out summer 25th.
- 38:51Carmen Lezeth: Please go see it.
- 38:52Carmen Lezeth: I cannot wait.
- 38:53Carmen Lezeth: It's going to be amazing.
- 38:54Carmen Lezeth: I'm sure that she's also been doing all of the you know press and whatever, blah, blah.
- 38:59Carmen Lezeth: And if you, if you haven't seen her, she looks amazing.
- 39:02Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I think she's always looked amazing, because whoever does, her hair is always on point.
- 39:07Carmen Lezeth: But she's lost a lot of weight and everybody was wondering if she was doing the new.
- 39:13Carmen Lezeth: It's not new, but it's a diabetic drug called Ozempic or whatever.
- 39:18Carmen Lezeth: And Ozempic, how do you?
- 39:20Carmen Lezeth: say it Ozempic.
- 39:22Cynthia Lopez: Right.
- 39:23Carmen Lezeth: Ozempic and anyways, blah blah.
- 39:25Carmen Lezeth: Everybody in Hollywood, I guess, is not taking it, but for some reason everybody's really skinny and there's no diabetic drugs for all the people who actually need it or whatever, but you know whatever.
- 39:36Carmen Lezeth: Anyway, she finally came out in an article discussing that, along with her weight watchers thing and you know hiking, and after her knee surgery and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, that she is taking a prescription for a weight loss help drug thing.
- 39:53Carmen Lezeth: But she didn't say it was Ozempic.
- 39:54Carmen Lezeth: So my question is is how do you guys feel about that?
- 39:58Carmen Lezeth: Do you have any opinion on it?
- 39:59Carmen Lezeth: And then I'll share mine.
- 40:00Carmen Lezeth: And let's start with Cynthia.
- 40:04Cynthia Lopez: So yeah, so the two drugs are Ozempic and Wigowi, so those are the two that are for diabetics and people have been using it to lose weight.
- 40:13Cynthia Lopez: One actually is on Ozempic because he is diabetic, which actually didn't help him lose about 30 pounds.
- 40:23Carmen Lezeth: So that's not why he was taking it.
- 40:26Cynthia Lopez: No, he was taking it for his diabetes.
- 40:28Cynthia Lopez: Yeah Right, but it just happens that he did lose weight while he was on it.
- 40:32Cynthia Lopez: But now it's like people are just being prescribed it just to lose weight and you know, they're not even full blown diabetic, they're just like borderline or just right there, or you know, and a lot of people who really do need it.
- 40:49Carmen Lezeth: Well, the pharmacies are going to look at.
- 40:51Carmen Lezeth: Look, I don't want.
- 40:52Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know what you're saying, but I want to go to the crux of what I want to talk about.
- 40:55Carmen Lezeth: Pharmacies are going to bank on that.
- 40:57Carmen Lezeth: They don't care.
- 40:58Carmen Lezeth: They're going to make more of the drug and charge more money and rich people will look at.
- 41:03Carmen Lezeth: I remember Oprah said something years and years ago and I was trying to find it in the article, but she had said listen, let me tell you, I know that weight loss is hard because if there was a pill, I would own it.
- 41:16Carmen Lezeth: I remember her saying that and I was like you know what?
- 41:22Carmen Lezeth: I know you had knee surgery and I know you've been hiking every day.
- 41:26Carmen Lezeth: But you know what I've been working on my whole life and I ain't going to be wearing a thong this summer.
- 41:31Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying you know I'm not a crazy eater and you know like I just for me it.
- 41:39Carmen Lezeth: Really I'm glad that she finally admitted it.
- 41:41Carmen Lezeth: But what I want to talk about really is how do you feel about, how do we all feel, not about the pharmacy or whatever, because that they're going to make more drugs for diabetics and whatever.
- 41:52Carmen Lezeth: Blah, blah, blah.
- 41:53Carmen Lezeth: That's going to be settled and pharmaceuticals will make money.
- 41:55Carmen Lezeth: The question is, how do you feel about?
- 41:57Carmen Lezeth: Is this cheating?
- 41:58Carmen Lezeth: Is this cheating?
- 41:59Carmen Lezeth: Is this okay?
- 42:01Carmen Lezeth: Is this good?
- 42:03Carmen Lezeth: Should more people be on this weight loss drug?
- 42:05Carmen Lezeth: But that's really what I want to talk about.
- 42:07Cynthia Lopez: In a way, I think it's cheating, but I also think that if they've tried everything else and nothing else has worked, then this can be the other alternative.
- 42:17Carmen Lezeth: Andrea.
- 42:18Andrea Nunez: I don't feel like it's cheating, I don't know.
- 42:21Andrea Nunez: I don't even like the way that you know, like even phrasing it like that right, Like if there are legitimate health issues with being overweight or whatever, medically obese or whatever they want to call it, this is a medication that you can take to help that.
- 42:40Andrea Nunez: You know what I mean.
- 42:41Andrea Nunez: So I guess where I maybe have a little bit of pause is like I weigh not me personally, but someone who's like I weigh 140 and I want to weigh 110.
- 42:52Andrea Nunez: You know what I mean.
- 42:52Andrea Nunez: It's like let's chill out, you know what I mean.
- 42:55Andrea Nunez: Then you can probably hike and, you know, eat more protein and you'll be just fine.
- 43:00Andrea Nunez: You know what I mean.
- 43:01Andrea Nunez: But for people who have actual health issues related to their weight, I think why not?
- 43:08Andrea Nunez: And I will also add, like, leave Oprah alone.
- 43:11Andrea Nunez: I mean, I know she's got, she's a billionaire and all of that, but like, and she also has put her weight- I was just going to say she owns Weight Watchers, honey, I know, I know.
- 43:23Andrea Nunez: I just feel like fuck it.
- 43:25Andrea Nunez: Can we stop judging this woman's body?
- 43:27Andrea Nunez: I just get tired.
- 43:29Carmen Lezeth: I agree with, but I'm going to, I'm going to go.
- 43:31Carmen Lezeth: Here's the problem.
- 43:31Carmen Lezeth: So I agree with you, but she also puts herself out there and, trust me, I'm so over celebrities being like I'm a person and it shut the fuck up, because when you can use your celebrity status, you're all a celebrity, you're fine.
- 43:46Carmen Lezeth: But I hear you on that.
- 43:46Carmen Lezeth: But I'm going to say something that is not being talked about.
- 43:49Carmen Lezeth: I don't care what you weigh.
- 43:52Carmen Lezeth: I have seen skinny people and I know skinny people who have worse, terrible health issues than a lot of quote unquote fat people.
- 44:04Carmen Lezeth: I actually think the bigger problem here is that we are.
- 44:07Carmen Lezeth: So why does everyone think Oprah looks beautiful?
- 44:10Carmen Lezeth: Now, she was beautiful, whatever weight she was, because it's not about her face and I'm not trying to be like, no, let's look at, let's be bigger people.
- 44:20Carmen Lezeth: I'm being dead fucking serious.
- 44:22Carmen Lezeth: She's not a model.
- 44:24Carmen Lezeth: But it's the thing about Oprah that we all love is that who she is.
- 44:28Carmen Lezeth: But as a society, we can't handle anybody who isn't a size five and you know, blonde and blue, white or whatever.
- 44:38Carmen Lezeth: We don't see weight the same way we look at eye color or hair curly or straight.
- 44:44Carmen Lezeth: We see heaviness, weight as some horrible thing.
- 44:48Carmen Lezeth: And then if someone's skinny, oh yeah, the whole Adele thing too.
- 44:52Carmen Lezeth: I thought Adele was perfectly great when she first came out, you know.
- 44:56Carmen Lezeth: And now Lizzo unfortunately because of everyone's suing her is out of the limelight, but Lizzo was doing a great job about body positivity and showing that people of any size, you know.
- 45:08Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna let Rick talk and Tommy talk, but here's the thing what I loved about Lizzo was that she had to do a two-hour show, and I don't know anyone who can do a two-hour show who is not in good shape.
- 45:22Carmen Lezeth: You have now.
- 45:23Carmen Lezeth: Does she carry an amount of weight?
- 45:26Carmen Lezeth: Is she considered Obese and be am I?
- 45:28Carmen Lezeth: Yes, but I bet you that I could put her up against most skinny people that I know and she would outdo them in whatever Exercise of whatever she needed to do.
- 45:37Carmen Lezeth: You know, now, I don't know her personal health issues, but this idea in our head that Size is what matters as opposed to actual health is the thing that has pissed me off all the time.
- 45:49Carmen Lezeth: Okay, now we'll be quiet.
- 45:50Carmen Lezeth: Go ahead, rick and Tommy, or whatever.
- 45:52Rick Costa: Who's first?
- 45:54Carmen Lezeth: go ahead, rick cuz Tommy gonna take a long time, like me.
- 45:59Rick Costa: Well, though, the word cheating is weird to me, because it's like when you cheat, you're scared because you might get in trouble, who you gonna get in trouble with for cheating on your weight?
- 46:09Rick Costa: You?
- 46:11Cynthia Lopez: do what?
- 46:11Rick Costa: you want to do.
- 46:11Rick Costa: You know, as long as it's healthy, I mean, to our knowledge, do whatever you want to do.
- 46:18Rick Costa: Like that's how I feel about it.
- 46:21Rick Costa: You know, do what you want to do.
- 46:22Rick Costa: If you feel good about yourself, great.
- 46:25Rick Costa: I mean, I don't think it's great to be 600 pounds.
- 46:28Rick Costa: I'm not saying that.
- 46:29Rick Costa: We all seen that show, probably um but um, yeah, 600 pound life, but I don't care.
- 46:36Rick Costa: Like cheating, who you gonna get in trouble with?
- 46:38Rick Costa: What do you mean cheating?
- 46:39Rick Costa: Like I don't Understand that part.
- 46:40Rick Costa: Like oh, it's cheating, it's cheating.
- 46:42Rick Costa: So who, like?
- 46:43Rick Costa: Who you gonna get in trouble with?
- 46:44Rick Costa: It's your life, your body.
- 46:46Carmen Lezeth: Well, well, well, people are saying that people who are wealthy can afford to buy this drug.
- 46:50Carmen Lezeth: Like I can't go to my.
- 46:51Carmen Lezeth: Like.
- 46:51Carmen Lezeth: If I went to my doctor said, can I get ozempic?
- 46:53Carmen Lezeth: They'd be like no, carmen, you cannot.
- 46:56Carmen Lezeth: My doctors will not give it to me, I promise you.
- 46:58Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 46:59Carmen Lezeth: But Wealthy people can do that right, so that the cheating part isn't so much that she's she has to talk to anyone, but it's like you're not losing weight, naturally, right and I think it goes to what you were talking about where it's like You're, you're shamed for not being able to do it the right way, right, right.
- 47:22Andrea Nunez: And so you know, not only must you be a certain size, you must look a certain way, but you have to achieve it the right way or it's not legitimate, right?
- 47:33Carmen Lezeth: which is, and and the right way, I guess, would be, even if it means being Interact, sick and bulimic, because as long as you're thin, look it, and, tommy, you know, in color guard and in drum core, I would.
- 47:46Carmen Lezeth: You know.
- 47:47Carmen Lezeth: I'm just gonna stay straight up, knowing that people might watch this so many people that I, especially when I was younger, everybody was white I was never gonna have these skinny, squawty boy little bodies that they had Never, never.
- 47:59Carmen Lezeth: I never had that kind of body, and so that was something that at first I was really intimidated by and I felt like I had to really prove myself, and then I was like I'm just gonna work my own magic, cuz I have to, I.
- 48:12Carmen Lezeth: There's no way I can change what I am.
- 48:14Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 48:15Rick Costa: Yeah, I.
- 48:17Carmen Lezeth: Feel like if we would just appreciate people's bodies for what they are, the amount of time we waste, yeah.
- 48:25Carmen Lezeth: Really is the business between you, your family and your doctor and I ain't even motherfucking talking about abortion, but it's kind of the same thing like I don't know what Lizzo's doctor thinks about her weight, but I'm sure, with the amount of money and all the stuff that she's doing, I Hope she taking care of herself and I, you know, and I think she looks great and is athletic and doing what she has to do.
- 48:47Carmen Lezeth: So Say this.
- 48:49Carmen Lezeth: Finally, and I want Tommy say this I, I, I'm sad.
- 48:53Carmen Lezeth: I'm sad that Oprah.
- 48:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm glad she's happy now.
- 48:58Carmen Lezeth: You know like she seems, like she's really extremely joyful and she was on the Sherry show yesterday and it's a hilarious show you should watch.
- 49:05Carmen Lezeth: It was so good and she looked so happy, whatever, but I'm sad that it took this like it couldn't be all the time.
- 49:14Carmen Lezeth: Does that mean I'm not saying that, right?
- 49:16Carmen Lezeth: But you know what I mean, right.
- 49:18Tommy Lee: I know exactly what you mean.
- 49:19Tommy Lee: Yeah, I get it.
- 49:21Andrea Nunez: Yeah, I mean, this is something she's like.
- 49:24Andrea Nunez: She's literally a billionaire.
- 49:26Andrea Nunez: She's Oprah right, and this is something that has clearly haunted her, and for her whole life Yep, her whole life.
- 49:33Andrea Nunez: Take the still.
- 49:35Andrea Nunez: I mean, I don't even know how old, what is she like?
- 49:37Carmen Lezeth: mid-60s almost, I think she's 69 turning 70.
- 49:40Andrea Nunez: Yeah, yeah the world, and you know, walks on water and this is still the thing if she's happy.
- 49:49Rick Costa: If she's happy because now I finally met your standard.
- 49:53Carmen Lezeth: Well, I think it's.
- 49:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna give her that credit.
- 49:56Carmen Lezeth: I think it.
- 49:57Carmen Lezeth: I mean I think it's what she, but it's the standard that we're all taught we have to be.
- 50:01Carmen Lezeth: I mean that's the problem.
- 50:02Carmen Lezeth: It's not that like I'm glad for her, but it's because it's all in our head that if we're not a size two or whatever it is, then we're not good enough.
- 50:11Carmen Lezeth: Even if we're a billionaire and have our own network and bring other people up and own a fucking orphanage and give money to everybody and buy cars for people.
- 50:21Carmen Lezeth: I mean, like, how much more do you want, lady?
- 50:23Carmen Lezeth: No, but you know, I mean like none of that was enough right?
- 50:26Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, she did not have.
- 50:29Carmen Lezeth: I mean I don't know what she had, brian, but Brian just wrote didn't Oprah have Gastic bi-press surgery?
- 50:35Carmen Lezeth: A light was no I?
- 50:36Carmen Lezeth: I don't know that to be true and know that either.
- 50:40Tommy Lee: I don't.
- 50:40Tommy Lee: So here's his.
- 50:42Tommy Lee: Here's what I have to add to this, basing on listening to what every one of you have said.
- 50:48Tommy Lee: If you're fucking Oprah Winfrey and you own networks and you're a billion, yet, at what point do you sit down at the end of the day, pull yourself a glass of wine, sit in front of your beautiful fireplace and your ginormous mansion with 16 bathrooms and 27 bedrooms and say to yourself what do I give a fuck what people think about me?
- 51:12Tommy Lee: This is where respect comes in, because she does, but you can flip that coin.
- 51:20Tommy Lee: As we know, every coin has two sides.
- 51:23Tommy Lee: Maybe what we've never talked about is that she has a demon in herself about how she feels, how she looks yeah, but we all do, Tommy, because that's On us.
- 51:38Carmen Lezeth: I mean, that's, that's.
- 51:39Carmen Lezeth: That's the problem.
- 51:40Carmen Lezeth: Are you?
- 51:41Carmen Lezeth: Did you get sick from Cynthia?
- 51:43Carmen Lezeth: Yeah?
- 51:45Tommy Lee: Cynthia's fault.
- 51:47Carmen Lezeth: No, no, look at, of course she's had the demons and talked a little bit about it in that article.
- 51:53Tommy Lee: I think.
- 51:53Tommy Lee: Here's my point.
- 51:54Tommy Lee: I think we put people like Oprah and Maury povich and all those people, connie Chung, we put them up here.
- 52:03Carmen Lezeth: For real, right there.
- 52:12Tommy Lee: She's still doing hairspray too.
- 52:13Tommy Lee: I Think we put them up here on a pedestal, but they're just like us.
- 52:19Tommy Lee: They have the same deal as we have For sure.
- 52:24Tommy Lee: You know what?
- 52:25Tommy Lee: At the end of the day, you gotta look at it this way, you well this is how.
- 52:28Tommy Lee: I look at it Okay, and maybe Andrea, you can kind of relate to this because we work in the same field.
- 52:37Tommy Lee: I Don't care.
- 52:40Tommy Lee: I don't care if you're too skinny, I don't care if you're ugly.
- 52:44Tommy Lee: Number one, first and foremost, are you a good person?
- 52:49Tommy Lee: Yep, that's the number one.
- 52:53Tommy Lee: If you're a good person, okay, if you wait, 200 pounds or 30 pounds?
- 53:00Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna care if you wait 30 pounds, because that's gonna be really Look at, let me tell you, it doesn't matter what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what.
- 53:14Tommy Lee: It's as long as you're a good person, like I know.
- 53:17Tommy Lee: But it's not it, but that's.
- 53:21Carmen Lezeth: Questions whether she's a good person or not.
- 53:23Carmen Lezeth: Here's my problem with Oprah.
- 53:25Tommy Lee: Oh, why is she so Ramped up about her weight?
- 53:30Carmen Lezeth: I don't, because she's been ridiculed, because she's a woman and she is successful, and that's Only people know, and that's the reason, and that's the only thing people focus on all the time is because our society sucks, yeah, so it's not really her fault, it's our fault.
- 53:47Tommy Lee: No, but why does I feel like Oprah?
- 53:50Tommy Lee: You're a billionaire.
- 53:51Tommy Lee: You you're fucking Oprah Winfrey.
- 53:54Tommy Lee: Why do you care what people think about you?
- 53:57Carmen Lezeth: Tell me because we all, because we're all human, look at as much as we want to pretend we don't care what people think about.
- 54:02Carmen Lezeth: Can you imagine wake?
- 54:04Carmen Lezeth: Can you imagine waking up in the day, going to Starbucks or whatever?
- 54:08Carmen Lezeth: Or wherever she goes, somebody hands her the paper and the first thing is a magazine or an article about oh look at Oprah, she's so fat, or whatever.
- 54:17Carmen Lezeth: It is every single day of your life that, no matter what success you have in the world, no matter what you do, all people talk about is why can't you lose weight?
- 54:26Carmen Lezeth: Why can't you take this off?
- 54:28Carmen Lezeth: You have all this ability.
- 54:29Carmen Lezeth: That's all she ever hears.
- 54:32Tommy Lee: So this is the difference between me and Oprah.
- 54:34Tommy Lee: If I Billion, any publicity is good publicity.
- 54:45Carmen Lezeth: Thank you.
- 54:46Carmen Lezeth: You know what I think?
- 54:47Carmen Lezeth: It's easy, look it.
- 54:47Carmen Lezeth: I think that's easy to say being detached from it, but just being around celebrities or being around people who have any kind of fame here and you know, you know differently than I know.
- 55:00Carmen Lezeth: But but it's not even about that.
- 55:01Carmen Lezeth: You've experienced this to.
- 55:03Carmen Lezeth: People have an idea of who we are when we perform.
- 55:06Carmen Lezeth: That's not really true about who we actually are.
- 55:10Carmen Lezeth: People come up with things in their head that they think our lives are perfect.
- 55:14Carmen Lezeth: This is I'm talking about you performing with Cavaliers.
- 55:17Carmen Lezeth: It's the same thing, it's just more intense and more money.
- 55:21Carmen Lezeth: But I'm just saying like it's the same thing.
- 55:24Carmen Lezeth: People come up with an idea in their head.
- 55:26Carmen Lezeth: The problem is we never had to deal with that kind of fame and that kind of negativity, because it's a different world.
- 55:32Carmen Lezeth: But we're talking.
- 55:33Carmen Lezeth: We are talking about Oprah and Oprah was, I mean, just humiliated all the time about her, I know.
- 55:40Carmen Lezeth: I know she was Look at.
- 55:42Tommy Lee: Cynthia has to raise her hand because we Should not have been humiliated all the time.
- 55:47Tommy Lee: Okay, but let's get amazing.
- 55:50Cynthia Lopez: I have a question for Tommy.
- 55:51Cynthia Lopez: So, tommy, do you feel that Oprah is being hypocritical, because she's always about, you know, loving your body and always trying to motivate people, but yet, behind closed doors, she's so ashamed of her own body and she had to take this medication to lose weight?
- 56:09Carmen Lezeth: No, he's being sorry, cynthia, I feel like you want to answer that question.
- 56:13Tommy Lee: I Think the exact opposite.
- 56:17Tommy Lee: I Think she's going out of her way to please everybody and she's not.
- 56:24Tommy Lee: I feel like, oh, I disagree.
- 56:26Tommy Lee: She's Judy Gallin of the 21st century.
- 56:29Tommy Lee: She's going out of her way to prove to please everybody and doing what everybody oh, I don't agree with that at all.
- 56:37Carmen Lezeth: No, you know, no, I don't know.
- 56:38Carmen Lezeth: But I want to get back to Cynthia because, like I would like to ask a question.
- 56:55Cynthia Lopez: No, I was just wondering because of the way how he was saying how you know she is who she is, but yet she's so worried about what everyone else is thinking of her.
- 57:05Cynthia Lopez: But yeah, on the other side she's always trying to motivate people, you know, and just say that doesn't matter what size you are, you're beautiful.
- 57:13Cynthia Lopez: But yet she still feels a certain way and she's still taking in what people are saying about her.
- 57:21Carmen Lezeth: I just want to be clear.
- 57:22Carmen Lezeth: I don't think she ever talks about weight in that way.
- 57:24Carmen Lezeth: I don't think she ever says it doesn't matter what your weight is.
- 57:28Carmen Lezeth: I think she just just to be clear.
- 57:30Carmen Lezeth: I don't think that she knows, but I don't think she touches weight in that way when she talks about motivational.
- 57:37Tommy Lee: I agree with you come, and I don't think she does, but don't you think she lays down in bed with you, know, at the end of the day, and be like how much more can I do this?
- 57:48Tommy Lee: No, I can't.
- 57:51Carmen Lezeth: No, no, no.
- 57:51Carmen Lezeth: I actually think that I she doesn't give a shit anymore.
- 57:56Tommy Lee: Over went free and I know the amazing woman that she is.
- 58:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't think she's watching, it's okay.
- 58:04Tommy Lee: Don't worry, I'm gonna.
- 58:05Carmen Lezeth: I don't think she's watching.
- 58:11Tommy Lee: But I just like.
- 58:12Tommy Lee: Why not just accept this amazing woman for all her Accomplishments and accolades and the things that she's why?
- 58:19Carmen Lezeth: can't you?
- 58:20Carmen Lezeth: Okay, look it, I'm not, I'm not.
- 58:21Carmen Lezeth: I don't know her, so I'm I'm not trying to act like I'm gonna defend her.
- 58:26Carmen Lezeth: What I'm trying to say is it's really hard for your entire life to be, you know.
- 58:32Carmen Lezeth: I'm gonna put it in terms that reflects on me.
- 58:34Carmen Lezeth: And then Dr Noses, because we've had this deep conversation.
- 58:37Carmen Lezeth: All All my life I've always thought I was less than because of the color of my skin.
- 58:43Carmen Lezeth: Doesn't matter that, it's not true, but that is what society has Interjected into how we live every day, whether or not I noticed it or not.
- 58:54Carmen Lezeth: I always thought I wasn't good enough.
- 58:55Carmen Lezeth: And then George Floyd was murdered and I started learning about the history of our country.
- 59:01Carmen Lezeth: I learned about Tulsa, I learned about all these things that happen that were not taught about.
- 59:06Carmen Lezeth: And all of a sudden I was like are you fucking kidding me?
- 59:09Carmen Lezeth: I am a black, latina woman bitch.
- 59:13Carmen Lezeth: Like it all changed.
- 59:15Carmen Lezeth: But it doesn't matter how strong everyone perceived me to be, it doesn't matter what everyone thought of me.
- 59:21Carmen Lezeth: At the end of the day my self-esteem was so thrown because of what society and the way in which we live and the way I grew up and the way I was around people.
- 59:32Carmen Lezeth: I always say Color Guard was my saving grace right and dancing and performing were always my saving grace.
- 59:38Carmen Lezeth: But there was also all white people and in that there was racism, whether or not I wanted to admit it.
- 59:47Carmen Lezeth: I couldn't admit it because I didn't even understand it.
- 59:51Carmen Lezeth: I didn't even realize it was happening.
- 59:54Carmen Lezeth: So the reason why I'm bringing this up from this point of view is Oprah is still a human being.
- 1:00:00Carmen Lezeth: You can only take so much pressure.
- 1:00:04Carmen Lezeth: You can only do so much, and you know what.
- 1:00:06Carmen Lezeth: You keep excelling, you keep doing better and you know what.
- 1:00:09Carmen Lezeth: You're still not good enough.
- 1:00:10Carmen Lezeth: I'm still not good enough until something turned around and made me realize you know what, fuck everybody.
- 1:00:17Carmen Lezeth: And that's what I think Oprah did.
- 1:00:18Carmen Lezeth: Oprah was like you know what, fuck everybody?
- 1:00:20Carmen Lezeth: I am gonna buy this pill, I'm gonna do what I have to do, I'm gonna get my knee surgery, I'm gonna go hiking, I'm gonna let go of my network.
- 1:00:26Carmen Lezeth: I think she sold it to Tala Perry, or Tala Perry runs it or whatever, and she was like I'm gonna go live my life and then, when I'm ready, I'm gonna remake the color purple.
- 1:00:35Carmen Lezeth: I think she's exactly doing that.
- 1:00:39Tommy Lee: I see your point but, like I said earlier, there's two sides to every coin.
- 1:00:45Tommy Lee: Let's flip it In my.
- 1:00:49Tommy Lee: I'm gonna flip the coin and do a 180.
- 1:00:52Tommy Lee: In my opinion, you're Oprah Winfrey.
- 1:00:56Tommy Lee: You don't need to prove yourself to anybody.
- 1:00:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you need to get over that.
- 1:00:59Tommy Lee: You don't need to prove yourself to anybody.
- 1:01:01Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, you're not hearing it, You're not hearing it.
- 1:01:03Andrea Nunez: I mean, I think you know like she's still a person.
- 1:01:05Andrea Nunez: She's still a human being with her own struggles, her shit from her childhood, her adulthood.
- 1:01:13Andrea Nunez: She's a person who's been in the entertainment or you know, media for her whole adult life and she did not look at all the way that she was supposed to look to be.
- 1:01:25Andrea Nunez: And she wasn't a man.
- 1:01:26Andrea Nunez: Yeah, and she wasn't a man.
- 1:01:27Andrea Nunez: You know all of those things.
- 1:01:28Andrea Nunez: So I think, yeah, you can, you know late, and I'm sure that's a big part of what all of that work she's done, the whole journey that we have been on with her since the nineties of, you know, self-acceptance and self-love and all of those things is about trying to get herself through.
- 1:01:47Andrea Nunez: You know, I don't know or I'm like armchair analyzing her, but like she's been through it and she's tried to work through it.
- 1:01:54Andrea Nunez: This is clearly something that was like, like I said, the struggle of her life.
- 1:02:00Andrea Nunez: You know something that as a human being, we all have our things.
- 1:02:04Andrea Nunez: That's like I'm still, you know, like this problem keeps circling back around for me, because there's something more I need to do, there's something more I need to learn.
- 1:02:14Carmen Lezeth: And I'm not mad at her.
- 1:02:15Carmen Lezeth: I'm not mad at her for doing what she has to do.
- 1:02:17Carmen Lezeth: I'm mad at us as a society that we still haven't figured out that not being a size two or size four doesn't mean you're healthy.
- 1:02:28Carmen Lezeth: You know, being a size zero or whatever doesn't mean you're healthy.
- 1:02:33Carmen Lezeth: Being a size 16 or 22 doesn't mean you're healthy.
- 1:02:36Carmen Lezeth: And we haven't figured that out yet.
- 1:02:40Carmen Lezeth: We still are obsessed with what we think beauty is and for some reason, beauty is anorexic and white and female and blonde.
- 1:02:52Carmen Lezeth: Still, that is still the beauty standard.
- 1:02:55Carmen Lezeth: Barbie, barbie.
- 1:02:57Carmen Lezeth: That movie did so good.
- 1:02:59Carmen Lezeth: That's why that movie took so good.
- 1:03:00Tommy Lee: Rick, you took the words right out of my mouth, but now, listening to both of you ladies, I get it.
- 1:03:07Tommy Lee: Now I understand where you're coming from, and not just from a female's point of view, but from a social point of view.
- 1:03:19Carmen Lezeth: See, I think our work here is done.
- 1:03:22Rick Costa: Can I get a personal?
- 1:03:23Tommy Lee: example.
- 1:03:24Tommy Lee: And ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to announce the common has potted the Red Sea once again.
- 1:03:31Tommy Lee: Oh my God.
- 1:03:35Carmen Lezeth: We are not doing this next week, we're so not.
- 1:03:38Tommy Lee: Rick, what are you gonna say?
- 1:03:39Tommy Lee: No, I'm like in all seriousness, in all seriousness.
- 1:03:42Tommy Lee: First of all, you gotta think about that Tommy doesn't hear you, rick, so.
- 1:03:45Carmen Lezeth: But it's okay, tommy, that's fine, we'll let it in.
- 1:03:47Rick Costa: You know, I'm looking at it from a.
- 1:03:48Rick Costa: You mean looking at nothing.
- 1:03:52Tommy Lee: Now at your high school, A male's perspective and not a female's perspective.
- 1:03:56Tommy Lee: So to hear with both of you had to say was like oh, Okay, but now.
- 1:04:05Carmen Lezeth: Rick's gonna throw you.
- 1:04:06Carmen Lezeth: Rick's gonna throw you because he gonna say something now.
- 1:04:08Rick Costa: I don't know about throwing anybody, but so let me go back to my dad.
- 1:04:12Tommy Lee: Rick, you know I have a bad heart, okay, so let's just keep it simple.
- 1:04:16Rick Costa: Okay.
- 1:04:16Rick Costa: So one of the reasons when I hated him that I hated him was he always made me feel would verbally say so that I don't know how to do anything right.
- 1:04:24Rick Costa: Literally, no matter what I did, it was wrong, did not do anything right, and so that was so ingrained in my brain that it affected every part of my life.
- 1:04:33Rick Costa: When they're picking sports teams in school, the gym, whatever, always the last one Cause I projected that I don't know how to do anything right.
- 1:04:42Rick Costa: You don't want me Like literally, and that was so ingrained in my head.
- 1:04:45Rick Costa: So now I'm 53, mentally, intellectually.
- 1:04:49Rick Costa: I know that's all bull crap, you know that was not true, but there's still that voice I have to fight sometimes that still says you don't know how to do anything right.
- 1:04:59Rick Costa: It doesn't go away, even though I know it's not true, it's a lie.
- 1:05:03Rick Costa: So maybe that's sort of similar thing with Oprah she just can't get rid of this thing in her head.
- 1:05:09Carmen Lezeth: But you understand it's not just her, it's not just her.
- 1:05:11Tommy Lee: That's a really good point.
- 1:05:13Carmen Lezeth: That's society Like.
- 1:05:15Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to just make it like she has some mental issue about it.
- 1:05:18Carmen Lezeth: We do this to each other as a society because it's ingrained in us.
- 1:05:26Carmen Lezeth: Like you said, rick, it's ingrained in us that what beauty is, or what the perfect health thing is, is to be skinny, not you cannot be a successful black billionaire who owns an orphanage, who produces and makes TV and movies, and be 200 pounds.
- 1:05:45Carmen Lezeth: That's not good enough.
- 1:05:46Carmen Lezeth: Can you imagine?
- 1:05:47Carmen Lezeth: Can you imagine?
- 1:05:51Tommy Lee: Like just listening to you say that.
- 1:05:53Tommy Lee: All I can think of is no matter what she does, no matter how successful she is, someone's always gonna find a fault.
- 1:06:03Carmen Lezeth: Oh well, that's true, but that's all.
- 1:06:05Carmen Lezeth: Celebrity, that's universal.
- 1:06:06Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's universal to all.
- 1:06:09Tommy Lee: No, not even just celebrity.
- 1:06:11Carmen Lezeth: I think in general, in general, yeah, in general, yeah, I'm happy for Oprah, though I mean, cynthia, are you happy for Oprah?
- 1:06:18Carmen Lezeth: I felt like you're the only one who hasn't made a turn.
- 1:06:21Carmen Lezeth: You're like do you think she's a hypocrite, tommy?
- 1:06:24Carmen Lezeth: Do you think that she is a hypocrite?
- 1:06:27Carmen Lezeth: Because no.
- 1:06:29Cynthia Lopez: I'm happy for her, I'm happy for her Whatever makes her happy.
- 1:06:33Carmen Lezeth: I'm happy for her too.
- 1:06:34Carmen Lezeth: I mean she looks really I mean I'm talking about in her face.
- 1:06:37Carmen Lezeth: I mean on the show, if you guys can watch it, she was dancing between the commercial breaks and there was a part of me that was just like wow, this woman is living her best life right now.
- 1:06:49Carmen Lezeth: I mean I hope she is anyways, but wow, we were just talking and going and yeah, and I have to be up at 5 AM in the morning.
- 1:06:57Tommy Lee: Go to your new job 5 AM, my time To go to your new job.
- 1:07:02Carmen Lezeth: OK, so we're going to wrap this up.
- 1:07:04Carmen Lezeth: Let me just say thank you to everyone for stopping by.
- 1:07:06Carmen Lezeth: Andrea, thank you.
- 1:07:07Carmen Lezeth: I know you had a little hard time, but I'm glad you finally made it.

- 1:07:12Carmen Lezeth: Oh my god, Andrea.
- 1:07:14Andrea Nunez: I'm so glad I found you.
- 1:07:15Andrea Nunez: I'm so glad to meet you.
- 1:07:16Andrea Nunez: He did that.
- 1:07:16Andrea Nunez: Me too, Rick.
- 1:07:19Andrea Nunez: Always a pleasure to have you.
- 1:07:22Andrea Nunez: Rick put a disco shirt on tonight.
- 1:07:23Andrea Nunez: I need to see more of that shirt.
- 1:07:25Andrea Nunez: Oh, OK, I just saw the things that.
- 1:07:28Andrea Nunez: I was like that's great.
- 1:07:30Andrea Nunez: Andrea just dissed him.
- 1:07:31Andrea Nunez: No, no, I was.
- 1:07:34Andrea Nunez: I thought it was like.
- 1:07:36Andrea Nunez: I thought it was different, but it was a flannel, which is fine.
- 1:07:41Andrea Nunez: I just thought it was a little bit more like disco.
- 1:07:45Andrea Nunez: I don't know, Look, this is the color.
- 1:07:48Andrea Nunez: Something about.
- 1:07:51Carmen Lezeth: I think you look fabulous.
- 1:07:52Carmen Lezeth: I think you look fabulous, cynthia.
- 1:07:54Carmen Lezeth: Thank you.
- 1:07:55Carmen Lezeth: Let's give some love to your husband.
- 1:07:59Carmen Lezeth: I hope tomorrow goes well.
- 1:08:00Carmen Lezeth: Yes, thank you.
- 1:08:01Carmen Lezeth: Tell him you're going to hug for me Everyone.
- 1:08:05Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much.
