- 0:08Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on w r.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Mara
- 0:17Speaker 1: in Nevada. Mara, how you doing?
- 0:19Speaker 3: Mark's so good? I'm talking to you child, Vincent. Mark
- 0:23Speaker 3: Trump is not good at this. He's not a good dictator.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Cause if he was, the keyotine would be dusted up
- 0:30Speaker 3: and shopping and heads would be lopped off. Rest less
- 0:34Speaker 3: than right. He is not a good dictator. The first
- 0:37Speaker 3: ones would be Congress. Everyone called back.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That's a good point you gotta remember, though. I think
- 0:42Speaker 1: if you have cut off the head of Hakim Jeffries,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I don't think it'd affect him that much. There's not
- 0:48Speaker 1: much between the ears up there. Let's go to uh
- 0:51Speaker 1: Rich and Myrtle beach Rich. How you doing?
- 0:54Speaker 4: Hey? Thanks? Mark.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I tried calling. I tried calling the WABC to complain
- 0:58Speaker 2: about Kimmel. You can't leave any messages. The boxes are
- 1:02Speaker 2: all full. They must be getting thousands of them. But
- 1:04Speaker 2: you know, if they had any guts to go ahead
- 1:06Speaker 2: and do it and just send a message.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And maybe I had to break it to you. It's
- 1:09Speaker 1: now twenty twenty six. I don't think he can call
- 1:12Speaker 1: anybody anywhere. You got an email, you can't.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Call now you can call him because they have a
- 1:16Speaker 2: dedicated phone line.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You know, there's nobody checks it, nobody listens to it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You know, here at iHeart, which is we're massive here,
- 1:24Speaker 1: We're like ten floors of this big skyscraper. We don't
- 1:27Speaker 1: even have a receptionist. You don't need it anywhere. Nobody
- 1:32Speaker 1: calls here anymore. Everything well that's everything's email.
- 1:36Speaker 2: But I hope he's gone here putty soon and I
- 1:38Speaker 2: would actually send a message to the rest of them,
- 1:41Speaker 2: but I don't think Disney or ABC has the backbone
- 1:44Speaker 2: to do it. I mean, they're going to wait him out.
- 1:45Speaker 2: He's got a couple of months left and that'll be it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: But you know what, they really should step up and
- 1:50Speaker 2: grow a pig.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. Well, see, there's a new chairman of Disney,
- 1:53Speaker 1: taken over from Bob Biker. We'll see what he does.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike. How you doing.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Morning, Mark, Mike, I've what we said. I'd be okay
- 2:03Speaker 5: with these jokes. If the door swang both ways. You know,
- 2:06Speaker 5: I mean eight years of Obama, four years of Biden
- 2:10Speaker 5: and all these genius comedians couldn't find one single thing
- 2:13Speaker 5: to joke about with those two guys for just as
- 2:15Speaker 5: for instance, you know, and it speaks to your point
- 2:18Speaker 5: about toning down the rhetoric. You're the only one who
- 2:21Speaker 5: are going to turn down the rhetoric. Or you can
- 2:23Speaker 5: be the conservative sort of rite or Republicans. The Democrats
- 2:27Speaker 5: are fart to glib. They know how to play that.
- 2:30Speaker 5: There's much more savvy. They know how to use the language.
- 2:33Speaker 5: You watch a Keem Jeffries. You know he's not saying anything,
- 2:37Speaker 5: but boy, he's delivering it like a you know, like
- 2:39Speaker 5: I'll lead punching you know, a punching bag.
- 2:42Speaker 1: He's a nasty looking guy. Well, a good point, Mike,
- 2:44Speaker 1: excellent point that you. Kimmel Is first comment about what
- 2:48Speaker 1: he said was, well, it's just a it's an old
- 2:51Speaker 1: roast joke. Yeah, they did do jokes like that at roast.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But you look like an future widow making fun of
- 2:57Speaker 1: the guys. It's it's an old roast. But the thing
- 2:59Speaker 1: about the roast, and it was the way you always
- 3:01Speaker 1: did every roast you'd go down the line and do
- 3:03Speaker 1: a jokes about everybody. You didn't just pick one guy
- 3:06Speaker 1: and just do him. And you got a good point there, Mike.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It'd be different if you were attacking both sides. For instance,
- 3:13Speaker 1: nobody promoted Eric Swalwell more than Jimmy Kimmel on his show,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and the same thing with the Stephen Colbert and Jimmy
- 3:21Speaker 1: fallon Well. Now, once the Swellwell scandal breaks, these two
- 3:27Speaker 1: since that happened a couple weeks, you haven't said a word,
- 3:29Speaker 1: haven't made a single joke about him. You're right, it's
- 3:31Speaker 1: just one sided. It's ridiculous. Go to Pat in Scarsdale. Pat,
- 3:36Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 3:36Speaker 6: Hey, Mark, thanks for taking my call. Actually, two thoughts
- 3:39Speaker 6: come to my mind. First, when I listened to Mike Goodman.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Michael Goodman, I'd never heard him called Mike.
- 3:45Speaker 6: Goodman, Michael, he doesn't seem to have that spunk in
- 3:49Speaker 6: his voice. Is his health a little under the weather?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I had a couple of health problems, but he's much
- 3:54Speaker 1: much better in recovering. Stop picking an old guy. He's uh, yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: he's still a little raspy, little throat thing going on,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but it's it's much better. Sounds much better. Now let's
- 4:03Speaker 1: go to uh Jim in Long Island. Jim, how you doing?
- 4:08Speaker 4: I Mark, I want to speak about Maya mon DOMI.
- 4:12Speaker 4: You just played a clip about him bringing down the temperature.
- 4:16Speaker 4: He singled out a rich man but a target on
- 4:19Speaker 4: his back, gave his name, his location, where he is,
- 4:24Speaker 4: and then some crazy street animal nine.
- 4:26Speaker 1: What you're saying, he's a hypocrite. I can't picture that
- 4:30Speaker 1: the mom, Donnie, I know, No, never a hypocrite. Good point. Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: it's the hypocrisy democrats are famous for. He does things
- 4:41Speaker 1: that are so outrageous, but you have the most biased
- 4:45Speaker 1: fake news protecting him. He actually singled out, targeted an
- 4:50Speaker 1: individual happened to be a wealthy guy. Ken Griffin filmed
- 4:53Speaker 1: a video outside of his apartment, pointing out his apartment
- 4:56Speaker 1: in his address, saying, hey, right there, this is where
- 4:58Speaker 1: he lives. Imagine I'm Mayor doing that to a private citizen.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Imagine somebody to him. Let's say they went to his
- 5:06Speaker 1: father and mother and father's house and did the video
- 5:09Speaker 1: and pointed here's where they live, here's their address. You
- 5:11Speaker 1: can't do that to people. Absolutely disgusting. Now, Ken Griffin,
- 5:16Speaker 1: very very wealthy guy's worth about fifty billion, major player
- 5:21Speaker 1: in New York. He was about to build a six
- 5:23Speaker 1: billion dollars skyscraper Park Avenue. In fifty second it would
- 5:28Speaker 1: create six thousand construction jobs. Over the next five years,
- 5:32Speaker 1: it would create fifteen thousand permanent jobs. Now he's saying,
- 5:36Speaker 1: you know what, I might not build this. I might
- 5:39Speaker 1: have to put move it out of New York. I
- 5:40Speaker 1: can't deal with this, Mayor. That's the problem. When you're
- 5:43Speaker 1: mayor and a guy's going to do a project like that,
- 5:46Speaker 1: you're supposed to call them and you're supposed to say,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'd love to meet with you. Let me see how
- 5:51Speaker 1: I can help you. We're so grateful you're going to
- 5:53Speaker 1: create these jobs, put this building here, help our economy.
- 5:57Speaker 1: What can we do to help That's what you're supposed
- 5:59Speaker 1: to do. Let's go to Chris in West Hampton. Chris,
- 6:02Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I'm not being a panic and I have a question.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Have you heard anything about the merger between iHeart and Serious?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Of course I work here.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Well, okay, so it's true.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Well, I mean it's nothing's true. Well, because nothing's true
- 6:17Speaker 1: yet there a couple of people have tried to bring
- 6:20Speaker 1: the serious to merge with iHeart and that I guess
- 6:26Speaker 1: they're talking about it. It possible talks about merging iHeart
- 6:30Speaker 1: and serious. At this point, it's just talk. iHeart is
- 6:34Speaker 1: the biggest audio company in the world.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Right, That's what I mean.
- 6:39Speaker 1: They're more serious for they really don't. But I think
- 6:43Speaker 1: the idea is it just you can scale even you
- 6:47Speaker 1: know that's a big thing in business. Now, try to
- 6:49Speaker 1: see how much you can scale up. So you could
- 6:51Speaker 1: probably scale the company up even more. See one of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the problems you have when you're the biggest audio company
- 6:55Speaker 1: in the world, biggest podcast, biggest, when you're number one,
- 6:59Speaker 1: it gets really tough to grow it anymore. So that's
- 7:01Speaker 1: when you do mergers. You see that all the time
- 7:03Speaker 1: with a business it's absolutely number one, totally dominant. But
- 7:08Speaker 1: when you're the business for the shareholders, you're supposed to
- 7:11Speaker 1: grow it every year, so it gets tough. The bigger
- 7:13Speaker 1: you are, the tougher it is to grow the thing.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So it just talks at this point. We'll keep you
- 7:17Speaker 1: posted if we know anything. Bob Pittman, great chairman, brilliant
- 7:22Speaker 1: guy of iHeart. Yes to put out a whole long
- 7:25Speaker 1: memo about don't believe all the press reports. But it's
- 7:29Speaker 1: just in the talking stages. But this is in his memo.
- 7:34Speaker 1: This is pretty interesting. iHeart is the most listened to
- 7:39Speaker 1: audio provider in every single age group in the US,
- 7:43Speaker 1: the number one broadcast radio company in America. Iheart's the
- 7:46Speaker 1: number one podcast company in America, the number one digital
- 7:51Speaker 1: radio service, and the iHeart app is the most listen to,
- 7:54Speaker 1: number one app in the world. Iheart's number one in
- 7:58Speaker 1: live music events, has the number one biggest social footprint
- 8:04Speaker 1: of any audio company. You can go on and on
- 8:07Speaker 1: with those. The other interesting thing and people might not
- 8:09Speaker 1: realize this. More people listen to the radio now than
- 8:14Speaker 1: ten years ago, and more people listen to the radio
- 8:17Speaker 1: now more than twenty years ago. Radio listening has actually grown. Hey,
- 8:22Speaker 1: when we come back, we'll talk to Ed Rollins, the
- 8:25Speaker 1: Dean himself. Now he was there with Reagan in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: White House when that assassination attempt happened, and we'll talk
- 8:32Speaker 1: to him about what they went through there in the midterms,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and a whole lot more coming up on seven to ten.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Wor
