A lot of people ask you, Gustavo, who take cares of your social media?
0:03
It's me.
0:04
You have 300,000 followers all together.
0:07
What is the one or two things that you would say, look, did they
0:10
really make a difference for you?
0:12
For me, it's not only about a mentor.
0:14
A mentor is very important, but you need the inspiration.
0:17
Discipline.
0:18
This is
0:19
discipline.
0:19
Okay.
0:20
A lot.
0:21
And, but first, what is success?
0:23
No.
0:23
Is lecture is the business.
0:25
Yeah.
0:26
Is money.
0:27
I will
0:27
add.
0:28
Persistence.
0:28
I think this is so important nowadays.
0:31
Dentistry, it's not like a short career dentistry.
0:35
It's a long-term career.
0:50
Welcome to ProTalk.
0:52
Welcome to the Pulse of Dentistry.
0:54
Welcome to this episode of Inspirational Conversations.
0:58
As you can see today, there's a lot of new things in the Pro Talk for the
1:02
ones that are looking at on video.
1:04
We have a new setup, and first time we have three guests that I'm very happy
1:09
to introduce and to welcome today.
1:12
Three guests that have a long way from Brazil and from Spain.
1:15
Welcome, Gutto.
1:16
Welcome, Juan.
1:17
Welcome Victor.
1:19
Welcome to the ProTalk.
1:20
Thank you very much.
1:21
A huge pleasure.
1:23
So you guys, you need no introduction.
1:25
You have 300,000 followers all together on, on Instagram.
1:30
And this is what makes you famous.
1:32
But it's more than this.
1:33
You, you guys are great clinicians.
1:35
You focus on excellence, you're great scientists, you are
1:38
educators, you are on stage.
1:40
And I think that the mixture of this, makes you very special.
1:43
And I think what is interesting about the three of you is, we have
1:47
someone that has a restorative focus.
1:49
We have a periodontist at the table and an oral maxillofacial surgeon
1:52
at the table, which will make it a very exciting conversation.
1:56
I'm sure.
1:57
So for the ones that don't know you.
2:00
Maybe you can introduce yourself in one minute.
2:03
Do you wanna start Gutto?
2:04
Yes, for sure.
2:05
Thank you.
2:05
My name is Gustavo Giordani, but everybody knows me as Gutto.
2:09
I am a maxillofacial surgeon from Brazil.
2:12
I live in Sao Paulo.
2:13
I have my private practice in Sao Paulo, focused on aesthetic zone implants
2:18
grafts soft tissue reconstructions.
2:20
We have also our educational institute also in Sao Paulo in our planning center.
2:25
So I'm really focusing surgeries in aesthetic zone, combining with my good
2:30
friends aesthetic rehabilitation, really focused on soft tissue education, and of
2:35
course trying to put everything online to really help people to share and of
2:40
course trying to connect with the world.
2:42
Okay, and to help people also to grow.
2:44
Exactly.
2:44
Exactly.
2:45
Thank you.
2:45
Good talk.
2:45
My pleasure.
2:46
My pleasure, Juan.
2:47
Hello?
2:48
Very happy to be here.
2:49
I'm Juan.
2:50
I come from Madrid, Spain.
2:53
I've got my private practice there.
2:55
I'm I'm a periodontist.
2:56
I've been working as a surgeon for several years and after that I
3:00
started doing also my restorations.
3:04
So I mainly focus also in aesthetic zone models like Gustavo, like Gutto.
3:09
I do grafts, a lot of grafts.
3:12
I do a lot of implants in the aesthetic area, and I try to finish
3:15
at the end with the full aesthetic rehabilitation, with veneers and
3:20
finish the cases as good as possible.
3:22
And I'm very happy to be here because I think that dentistry is moving, it's
3:26
changing a lot and digital is influencing a lot in us and in the way we do work.
3:32
So I think this is one of the best moments in dentistry ever.
3:37
Everything is changing and he, we are here just to learn a lot more.
3:40
So it's amazing to be here.
3:42
Thank you very much.
3:42
I agree, Juan.
3:43
It's a super exciting moment in the dentistry.
3:45
It's never been more exciting.
3:47
Absolutely.
3:47
And I think the future is going to be the same.
3:49
It's going to be super interesting.
3:51
It's interesting, it's
3:51
changing everything.
3:52
And we dive into this how you see today.
3:54
And also we'll speak about how you see the future.
3:58
Victor, who is Victor in one minute.
4:01
I am Victor from Brazil.
4:02
I took my DDS in 2001, so I've been dentist for more than 24
4:10
years, but I grow it in this field 'cause my father is a dentist.
4:15
So everything that I'm doing now is trying to share dentistry for me,
4:21
trying to teach the dentist to make last mistakes that I did in the past.
4:28
So usually we are focusing three pillars.
4:32
That is scientific evidence, clinical experience, and reproducibility.
4:38
So this is our focus nowadays.
4:41
I work more with the restorative part.
4:43
Also, I have a specialization implants, and I work with my brother
4:47
that's a dental technician inside the lab, so we try to face everything.
4:52
That's a great setup to have a technician that you can trust that much.
4:56
Yeah,
4:57
so obviously, people know that you guys are working together quite a lot and
5:02
for Victor and Gutto, for you it's easy.
5:04
It's just one hour drive.
5:06
I learned that you can refer patients to each other.
5:08
One you are living in Madrid, but still you guys collaborate a lot.
5:11
How did you team up, was there a shared spark in the beginning?
5:15
What is the story behind?
5:16
I think everything started because of our mentor Eric Van Dorin.
5:20
We had the opportunity, I start working with Victor, how many years?
5:24
I don't know, maybe in 2011, 2010, something like 20, almost 20 years ago.
5:29
And we had the opportunity to go to Belgium and we met Eric, our mentor.
5:35
And because of Eric, we start to know a lot of people and we start to join.
5:39
Different companies and different works, who was one of the guys that we met.
5:44
And I think our philosophy is pretty much the same.
5:48
We start a huge friendship and as we are like super good friends and we
5:54
have a lot of things in common like playing tennis, like enjoying digital
5:58
dentistry and and family and everything, we start to collaborate a lot and
6:02
we became like super good friends.
6:05
So Eric Van Dolan had a huge impact on you.
6:07
I learned.
6:08
What is it that you, you learned from Eric?
6:11
I think that Eric you have to learn from him.
6:14
I think his mindset, it's like he's open to everything.
6:18
When I met Eric first time, it was like, come on, God, Eric, it was like you were
6:23
there and you, he just won't do this.
6:26
You don't question, you just.
6:28
Follow what he said.
6:29
You do it.
6:30
And it was like for you, like a God.
6:33
And seeing Eric so opened and with this big amount of young dentists, learning
6:40
from them, he was taking us there, making cases, and he was learning from us.
6:46
For me was a complete different mindset.
6:49
I was used to the old professors that were not gonna take care about
6:53
what you were saying or meaning.
6:55
And I went there, the one that was valued the most and he
6:59
was open to whatever we said.
7:01
And for me it was a really big impact more than in dentistry in
7:05
life because Dan made me think that, you just need to be open to whatever
7:11
information's coming from everywhere.
7:13
Yeah.
7:13
And you just need to be careful to select.
7:16
Yes.
7:17
I was I start to to call Eric Papa because he's really a mentor.
7:21
He's really a father, and when I say mentor I say that Eric gives opportunity.
7:26
He stopped to listen.
7:28
He's pushing us when it's necessary.
7:31
And of course he introduced a lot of nice people for us.
7:34
So giving opportunities, open doors giving space for young
7:38
people learning from young people.
7:40
And this is nice because after 20 years, we still share, we still do
7:44
things together, we collaborate.
7:46
So it's it's a great mentor.
7:48
Yeah.
7:48
I think he was very important for us.
7:50
And still, and of course in the future, he's still going to push us.
7:56
We are doing the same.
7:57
So it's a nice relationship.
7:58
Yeah,
7:59
I know it's a bigger, also it's a bigger network with people also in Romania.
8:02
Yeah.
8:02
Yes.
8:02
And I'll tell just a little fun story about Eric.
8:05
I met Eric with Gustavo in 2010 and that moment I didn't know Eric.
8:11
I was working in a clinic and the guy told me, someone will do a case here
8:15
and you have to make provisionals.
8:18
So I did the provisionals.
8:20
I took pictures and then arrive a big guy start speaking English, and
8:24
I didn't know anything in English.
8:26
I just saw him say and nice yes.
8:28
Maybe he's talking, can I do this?
8:30
Yes.
8:31
But after he finished the surgery, he asked who did this everything about the
8:36
case, and someone told that guy, and then a friend told me that he invited
8:41
me to go to visit him, to collaborate with pictures and everything, and
8:47
then said, sure, that I will go.
8:49
Then was the first time that I start to travel with Google.
8:52
But this was a game change in my life because I was doing my things in Brazil,
8:57
lecturing and everything, and I was working in a nice clinic in Brazil,
9:01
but I had the opportunity to travel.
9:03
But if I travel, I have to leave the clinic.
9:07
And then that time was a game decision because we are in the best clinic in
9:10
Brazil, but if I decide to go to Belgium, I will be fired out of the clinic.
9:15
And then so they did you then decide to to learn English?
9:18
Because you said you didn't understand.
9:20
Yes.
9:20
That was the point because I didn't understand why in English.
9:23
Okay.
9:24
I had a master PhD, but we know how to read the articles.
9:28
But to talk, it's completely different.
9:30
And at that time, I start to understand the importance to learn to talk.
9:35
And then after that, with connection with Eric I start a new journey in us.
9:41
So every December and January for 5, 5, 6, for five years, I start to
9:47
dedicate my holidays, my vacation.
9:50
To learn English in United States.
9:53
It sounds like a very basic point.
9:55
But I observe this often that language is actually a barrier for many
9:59
young colleagues in many countries.
10:01
I'm traveling a lot around the world and with a lot of great young clinicians,
10:05
but language often is a barrier.
10:07
And I think it's great that you took the step because I'm sure, learning this
10:11
language, it's just opening the world for you to learn from many other great
10:15
Ians, I think so that there wasn't,
10:16
and Victor, I agree with you.
10:18
So many good dentists in Brazil, good lectures, the guys that they
10:21
are like amazing speakers and because of the language, they
10:26
don't just cross the Brazilian
10:29
borders.
10:30
Yes.
10:30
And this is imagine that surround us.
10:34
We have maybe 15 countries, but it's Spanish.
10:37
Ah, yes.
10:38
Yeah.
10:39
English is too far nowadays.
10:41
A new generation probably.
10:43
They understood this.
10:43
Yeah.
10:44
It's changing.
10:45
Changing.
10:45
Yes.
10:45
Generation is changing
10:46
and a lot
10:47
of people
10:47
are now learning
10:49
if I look on your network, I know there are people from Syria.
10:51
Now in the US there are people from Romania.
10:54
I mean by lot there, there is, there's florine.
10:56
And what is uniting all of you is one language that you can speak to, right?
10:59
It sounds very basic, but I think it's very important to reflect
11:02
that it's opening the world.
11:04
If you manage, so first
11:05
thing I did with my daughter is like going to the English class.
11:11
It's great to speak about Eric and, other mentors that you learn so much from.
11:15
Is this also influencing what I see you guys doing, lecturing a lot, giving
11:20
courses, being present on social media?
11:23
100%. We were talking yesterday, me and Victor, about the way that we present,
11:28
the way that we take care of the image.
11:31
How do we see the importance of the videos and how do you tell the story
11:36
of the lecture, everything we learned from Eric and of course the group
11:39
around, but like this lecture influence how do we produce the material?
11:44
We really took that influence.
11:46
Social media was something that started for us, I don't know,
11:50
maybe 2012, something like that.
11:53
And was of course something.
11:55
Just for fun and then became like a super reality in the world.
11:59
But like lecture and the way that we take care of everything and all the details.
12:05
Eric was like the best and the big influence for us, for sure.
12:10
I remember doing a surgery with Eric.
12:12
It was a very big graft from one side to the other side.
12:15
He side, he was taping.
12:18
They were taping and taking pictures and I remember every step he was taking picture.
12:23
Yeah.
12:23
And every step he was saying the same one.
12:26
There's blood in your gloves and come, it's a surgery.
12:30
Surgery is very big, man.
12:32
Yeah.
12:32
That's, there's blood everywhere, but like cleaning the gloves.
12:35
Taking pictures, so taking care of those details.
12:38
But it's all the group.
12:40
Yeah.
12:41
I think all
12:41
the group is taken care of.
12:42
Yes.
12:43
As you talk about mentor dentists, they have a lot of inspirations.
12:49
I have a lot of guys that inspire my professional carer, but just a few or
12:54
two or three that took time to teach me.
12:58
Understand.
12:58
So sometimes when we talk about mentor, maybe we can have
13:02
people that will be jealous.
13:03
I know you since the beginning, but a lot of guys, they inspire me, but
13:07
when we ask, they did an answer.
13:09
And a few guys that you ask and they say the reality.
13:12
So these are things that we try to do nowadays in social media.
13:15
Yeah.
13:16
People ask it.
13:16
We tell the truth.
13:18
Why you are so open?
13:19
No, because I suffer in the past.
13:21
I don't want that.
13:21
You suffer.
13:23
That happened a lot.
13:23
So
13:23
we try to share more.
13:24
Yeah.
13:24
Cool.
13:25
Yeah.
13:25
So the guys that really help me, I, maybe three guys that I have,
13:29
but inspiration, I try to be a lot of guys that I love the work.
13:33
Yeah.
13:33
But then when you try to connect, they didn't answer.
13:37
Yeah.
13:38
That happened from the basics.
13:39
I remember that there was like, at the beginning, they were taking
13:43
pictures in a very fancy way.
13:46
I was like, how do you remember asking?
13:49
Like, how do you get to that picture?
13:53
What do you use, man?
13:56
They didn't tell you.
13:58
It was like a big secret.
14:00
Big secret.
14:01
And then you try until you discover or someone tells you
14:05
and it's come on, just say it.
14:08
Yeah.
14:08
It's
14:08
not
14:08
a big deal.
14:09
But then is it fair to say, the secret to your success on Instagram and
14:13
social channels is, genuine purpose that, that you want to share and
14:18
the great content that you deliver.
14:20
Yes.
14:20
It's not about yourself.
14:21
I see this, it's
14:22
I think you need to really try to build something real and solid.
14:26
A lot of people ask you, Gustavo, who take cares of your social media?
14:29
It's me 100% a and I can testify.
14:32
I've seen it.
14:33
How you exhaust, you do all by.
14:35
It's part
14:35
of the work.
14:36
I became a super important tool.
14:38
And actually who is taking care?
14:40
Who is doing your videos?
14:41
Who is adding me?
14:43
It's real.
14:43
It's me.
14:44
It's my time.
14:45
It's what I want to teach.
14:47
It's what I want to say.
14:49
It's really our touch, and I think this is solid and this is really real.
14:54
I think this is really the base of the social media.
14:56
When you see someone taking care of the social media, when it's like a
14:59
professional thing, music, this is not the guy, this is maybe a company I'm not
15:04
against, but the real and the solid thing.
15:07
I think it's really the base of build a nice social media.
15:10
A nice page, let's say like this, A trustable one.
15:13
Yeah.
15:14
Yeah.
15:15
I, I know already one of your ingredients to success, which was a great mentor.
15:20
What else is there?
15:20
If you think about an advice to a young colleague that would like to start
15:26
a successful career with sustainable growth, with a focus on excellence.
15:31
What is the one or two things that you would say, look, did they
15:33
really make a difference for you?
15:36
For me, it's not only about a mentor.
15:38
A mentor is very important, but you need the inspiration.
15:41
And for me, inspiration is someone that really gives you the chance
15:47
to try to reach something like what he's doing, and I think that's very
15:54
important to find your inspirations.
15:56
For me, I can say Florian is my 100% inspiration.
16:02
I know I would never reach something like that but the way he sees the world
16:07
in dentistry for me is life changing.
16:10
Completely.
16:11
Completely.
16:12
It's not about specialties, it's not about procedure.
16:16
It is, it's global man.
16:19
It's line blowing.
16:20
It's so finding the inspiration for me, it's the key of success because
16:26
you need to find where you want to go, what you wanna look like, and
16:33
try to achieve as much as possible.
16:35
And for me, that's something very important.
16:37
I will add
16:38
persistence.
16:39
I think this is so important nowadays.
16:42
Dentistry, it's not short career dentistry, it's a long-term career.
16:47
Persistent is very important Today.
16:49
We really need and want something fast and no.
16:52
I'm not going to take like years of studying or persistent persistent.
16:56
It's like you need to really invest time, invest er study, invest, not I
17:02
don't know, maybe be the second or the third guy and and wait for your time.
17:07
I think persistent is something very important for the young generation.
17:10
I know everything is fast today, but.
17:13
Things sometimes take time.
17:14
Persistent for me, it's really the key ingredient in the
17:17
dentistry be you need to focus.
17:20
This is a target.
17:21
Yeah.
17:21
Yeah.
17:21
Okay, let's move on.
17:23
And it's going to be there.
17:24
That's a great point.
17:25
Yes.
17:25
You can listen to this podcast on 1.5 speed.
17:28
Yeah.
17:29
You cannot fast forward on nature.
17:30
Think discipline.
17:32
This is discipline.
17:33
Okay.
17:34
A lot.
17:35
And, but first, what is success?
17:37
No.
17:37
Is lecture is the business.
17:39
Yeah.
17:40
Is money is opportunity.
17:42
So they have to understand someone will connect.
17:44
Depends what you are showing.
17:47
Yep.
17:47
We are showing clinical cases.
17:48
So success for Dan is achieve this clinical case.
17:52
So for someone, but how is the clinical, it's not big.
17:55
So we are not the guy for success, for Dan.
17:58
So we connect with the people that love dentistry, the, that part.
18:02
And then other thing is the discipline.
18:04
You have to do.
18:05
Don't care if you are happy, sad, if you are problems you have to do
18:10
every day by day, after maybe 15 years, you will understand it's not
18:14
1, 2, 3 years beautiful pictures.
18:18
Everybody has now beautiful cases.
18:21
Everybody.
18:22
What makes you different, what you have different than the others and sometimes
18:27
is if you are real, you are showing.
18:30
If you are real gutto, you see he's doing surgery in the video is the same.
18:36
When you are in live, a lot of people are one thinking videos, but when you arrive
18:41
in the office, completely different.
18:43
So you have to be real.
18:45
So it's not excellence about single cases, but for every single case, no, 100%.
18:49
It's not for that case.
18:51
It's for everybody doesn't care if the guy is rich or poor, if they're famous or not.
18:56
So it's, he's a person.
18:58
It's having a great mental, having inspiration, persistence and discipline.
19:02
I think that's a perfect segue also into the next chapter, which, is leads
19:06
us to speak about your philosophy, how you approach the industry today.
19:11
And I think your philosophy is going a lot into the direction of slow dentistry.
19:16
So tell me what does it mean for you and how do you put this to
19:20
life in your everyday practice?
19:23
For me it's target first focus in the patient when you are planning a case,
19:33
sometimes they's like how take, how long will take how will be in your
19:38
office, but what the patient needs.
19:42
So you'll try to planning everything before to be fast for the patient.
19:48
So is Lowden mean for me that you plan a lot before then you will have less time
19:55
treating the patient with your hands.
19:58
But if you're not playing before, you don't spend time but with
20:03
the patient, you spend more time.
20:06
So is plan before to be fast with the patient, but don't means that
20:10
you are fast in the treatment.
20:12
If you see the hours that you dedicated, you dedicate more outside than inside.
20:17
But when you dedicate more inside and less outside, you have a lot of problems.
20:23
So it's low is.
20:26
Plan is low to be fast in the treatment
20:29
planning.
20:30
Perfect.
20:30
Perfect.
20:30
And of course try to achieve as much as you can, the excellence of the case.
20:34
As Juan said, we are like facing a beautiful era in dentistry.
20:40
We have so many information.
20:42
And digital dentistry is really helping us a lot to dedicate the time for planning.
20:49
Using virtual plan, using and connect softwares that you, allows
20:53
you to really see the 3D treatment.
20:56
Understand the errors that you are going to face during the
21:00
treatment and avoid mistakes.
21:02
And again, like Vitor said going to the case to really achieve the perfection
21:07
you want with less time and dedicate this to the patient so the patient
21:11
goes out to your from your clinic like.
21:15
Faster, but in a very nice and predictable way.
21:18
It's like a combination of digital dentistry excellence, dedicate time with
21:23
the planning and really try to focus and create that treatment plan and finish
21:30
pretty close to that that that final design and avoid mistakes during not
21:38
going to, okay, I fixed this, I fixed that, and maybe at the end it's okay.
21:42
It's nice.
21:43
No, try to achieve that excellence in last time.
21:47
Yeah.
21:47
But the people need to understand where's the point for them, it's
21:51
slow dentistry is against volume.
21:54
It's true.
21:55
And there are a lot of offices that work that way.
21:58
So you need to understand first where you wanna be.
22:00
Yeah.
22:01
You wanna achieve the clinical cases, you wanna get to those results.
22:05
That's low dentistry.
22:06
And it's not like they were saying, selecting a case, it's like everything's
22:11
gonna be treated the same way.
22:12
The good thing is, like you said, digital gives you the tool to do
22:16
whatever you want before you start.
22:18
You plan and then you execute.
22:21
But giving the time for every patient as it's needed, I think it's a secret.
22:27
But understanding where you want to go, it's very important because people try to
22:31
achieve the best result and then they've got like 50 patients in the office.
22:35
Yeah.
22:35
It's impossible.
22:36
So first decide what you want to do.
22:39
Yes.
22:39
And it's, everything's respectful.
22:41
But this philosophy, imagine is what you believe.
22:47
Business is what you believe.
22:49
Some people, they want production, they will be happy.
22:52
Some people want to quality and less patience.
22:55
This we cannot discuss is what you believe, and we believe in that if you
22:59
are right or not for them, we don't know.
23:02
I'm right for what I believe, but there's a lot of
23:05
people trying to achieve the same but having a different philosophy.
23:10
So it's impossible.
23:11
And then they don't understand where's the mistake and it's listen, you're not
23:16
organizing yourself in a correct way.
23:18
You wanna do clinical case in amazing.
23:21
Give the time
23:22
you have to take choices.
23:24
Huh?
23:24
It's a great point.
23:25
One that you make.
23:25
I think what was interesting when you say this, I never thought
23:29
about this before, but it's so similar to any of the projects,
23:33
we do and I have done in my past.
23:35
If you are not starting with clarity in the beginning, perfect.
23:40
The project is always the risk to go off at one point, but if you start
23:44
with this clarity in the beginning and you invest this time, you are really
23:48
set up well to be fast and successful and to create a great outcome.
23:53
It's very similar to any other project that you can do, and I think it's a
23:57
great way you put this so I can imagine, this is an interesting philosophy also
24:02
for a lot of clinicians out there.
24:05
So if I would like to go into this direction, what are the two or three steps
24:09
I would need to do where you say, look, this is what you need to change to your
24:12
practice to, to move in this direction.
24:15
Organize yourself, organize the office, organize the team around that.
24:21
Be part of a multidisciplinary team.
24:24
You need to understand that things have changed completely.
24:28
You need to have a lab or a lab technician that you really can trust them.
24:35
Trust a hundred percent, because at the end you and them, you're
24:40
gonna organize everything, organize completely everything dedicate a lot
24:45
of time and planning focus in digital.
24:49
It's but digital is not okay.
24:50
I've got a scanner and everything's gonna be faster.
24:53
No, man, that's not digital.
24:55
That's a tool inside the digital.
24:59
So focus in digital, understand really what digital means.
25:04
And then execute.
25:06
And you are a great example of this, Juan.
25:08
I'm not so sure if everybody knows you went through this transformation.
25:11
You had times where you placed 2000 implants a year.
25:14
Yeah.
25:14
That was more volume than but did the transformation.
25:18
I'm, my,
25:19
my kind of philosophy in life is I don't usually feel comfortable
25:23
in any zone, too much time.
25:25
So I need to change and change because if not, I get boring,
25:28
start to fight, no pedal.
25:32
So it's I know that, and I spend too much time in the field of
25:36
surgery, so I decided to change.
25:40
Complemented with the restorative part.
25:42
And after that I understood that everything was part of a plan and
25:46
that plan was digital, so I needed to change again and to understand
25:51
the complete whole was was digital.
25:54
So understanding that after a few years you need to open your mind again and see
26:00
what's coming from outside to, to grow is.
26:04
Philosophy of life, I think,
26:06
And Juan, you said something that I agree 100%.
26:09
It's the most difficult part is really try to find the people that
26:14
share the same philosophy of yours.
26:16
Build a team.
26:17
Not saying that you need like a huge clinic with everybody inside, 40, 50
26:22
people working in the same place, but trying to connect with people that
26:26
has the same philosophy that you have.
26:28
Trying to bring the excellent excellence for the case.
26:31
Trying to be, bring like good assistant that work to with you, like for the
26:36
patient that wants to dedicate the time for excellence, try to find a
26:41
very nice people for the reception that wants to treat very good the patient.
26:45
So it's the difficult part, but it's very important.
26:48
To really reunite a team of people that share the same philosophy.
26:53
And you have, I think this is going to be the difficult part, but when you find it's
26:58
boom, it's for me, very important thing.
27:01
No, makes sense.
27:02
Yeah.
27:02
I imagine it's very difficult if on each case you fight with your
27:05
collaboration partner philosophy,
27:08
but about this philosophy, just to be clear for the young
27:11
ones, you have to have money.
27:14
Otherwise, how we will build everything.
27:17
So it's the first point.
27:18
If you don't have money, you have this.
27:21
You have to start to work for another dentist and believe what
27:25
you want for one day to create that.
27:28
So this is the first point.
27:30
You cannot start your beautiful office with if you don't have money.
27:34
Because when you don't have money, you have time.
27:37
And then when you get money, sometimes you don't have time.
27:41
Then it's the change.
27:42
So for the ones that they are starting, they want to believe
27:45
this, they have to do what?
27:46
Google.
27:47
And one, also, you build your office in 2014.
27:52
So it's, I work, even my father was a dentist.
27:55
I worked for a another dentist more than 10.
27:58
Yeah.
27:58
15 years believing what I want.
28:00
And I will tell that in 2016, after 14, 15 years working for another dentist, I build
28:08
my small offs and doing what I believe.
28:11
Yeah.
28:11
And another thing that give me time to do everything, because I have two
28:16
jobs as a dentist and as a lecturer.
28:20
So I have the opportunity to make money in both sides.
28:24
Give me freedom sometimes to work the way that I want.
28:28
It's not so just a dream and I will do this.
28:31
You have to understand also is a business because you have to
28:33
pay the bills for your family.
28:35
I have a follow up question on this, and maybe it's obvious,
28:37
but I still wanna ask it.
28:39
You know the philosophy that you want to implement in your practice.
28:42
Victor, was it clear when you started or did it form over those 10 years?
28:46
No, it was completely clear because, okay, since I start dentistry, I took, course
28:51
I'm preparing from guys that did the same and also my partner in the school, like
29:00
the couple that we work together, I don't know this name in English, he was, he is
29:05
a dental technician now he's a dentist.
29:08
So I go seeing this quality of dentist to, and you know that for the restorative
29:13
guys, they say if you want to know if the guy is good, go for the lab and see his
29:18
work, his implants, his preps on the lab.
29:21
And since I start in this field, I ask it who is good And he start to show
29:26
in his lab, look, this guy is good.
29:28
No this.
29:29
So I understood.
29:30
So no, I want to be like this.
29:32
And they very nice guy.
29:34
Sometimes he's not the production guy.
29:36
Then you have to decide what you want to be is different.
29:40
Oh, okay.
29:40
That makes sense.
29:42
I think brings us to a community question.
29:44
We ask usually the community, and we got a lot of questions for you guys.
29:47
I selected three, one of, for each of you.
29:50
So the first one that you said, look, it's starting in a young age.
29:54
The audience said, you guys look young, so you are still young, to be honest.
29:59
So how did you accomplish, that much and to be where you
30:02
are, in, in this young age?
30:08
This was for one, actually, no.
30:09
I can, I'm the jungle.
30:13
I'm not the jungle.
30:14
I'm the old, by the way, but that's okay.
30:16
But but again, I think it's what we've been talking is about patience.
30:23
It's like constant working.
30:25
Yeah.
30:25
With this objective always the same.
30:28
It's we were joking when we read that question before when we were having coffee
30:33
and it was like, how can I answer that?
30:37
See, latest Gutto post, it was at 6:30 in the morning.
30:42
We were in the gym there and it, this is not about constant working
30:48
is not only about dentistry, it's a philosophy of life.
30:52
Yeah.
30:52
You do one thing and you do 100% correct.
30:57
And this is not only about dentistry, it's about gym, it's
31:00
about tennis, it's about family.
31:02
It's about everything.
31:03
Because you're 100% in, so the good thing is take choices.
31:08
Yeah.
31:09
Decide what your choices are gonna be.
31:11
And after that, just follow it.
31:13
I agree.
31:14
Be constant.
31:14
I agree.
31:14
I think there is no like one formula.
31:18
But I think it's really a combination of everything that we are talking.
31:22
Let's put like discipline, persistence trying to do the best you can.
31:27
Wait for your time, try to meet good people, good mentors.
31:31
That really gives to you good information and maybe shortcuts.
31:36
Invest in your, the way that you talk, the way that you present yourself the
31:41
way that you are speaking with people.
31:44
It's not only about the technical part.
31:46
I really need to say that.
31:47
It's not only about doing 100 courses of sutures and be the best in the
31:52
world in surgery, but of course the way that you create relationship with
31:57
people, open doors meet good people.
32:00
So I think it's really a huge package.
32:02
And how you dedicate for that, for the 10 fif 10, 15 years of our career,
32:08
when we start, it's was like dedicating 100% of okay, the target is excellence,
32:15
build a very nice, solid career.
32:17
So let's move on 110% of in this direction.
32:22
I think this is really the, let's say.
32:26
Big formula.
32:27
It's a lot of ingredients that gives you these opportunities, let's say.
32:31
No, makes sense.
32:32
And I agree.
32:32
It's it's not only in the industry, but it's in your life.
32:35
I think this topic, longevity, caring about yourself, your family, creating
32:39
a balance, having this discipline also in, in the health aspect, nutrition.
32:43
I think that has a big influence on performance and enduring excellence.
32:47
Yes.
32:48
There is no like shortcuts.
32:50
100%. When everything is too easy, you just say, this is strange.
32:55
There's no lazy way to success.
32:56
Yes.
32:57
I see Instagram today and I say, this is too easy.
33:01
Make money in five days and then you are going to be super rich.
33:04
Maybe not exactly.
33:06
So next question we got is in only two words actually.
33:09
The question is why Straumann and Victor I know you guys, you have
33:13
a long history with Straumann and experience, but we intensify our
33:17
collaboration to the Marks now.
33:19
Why?
33:21
I think that when you think in quality whatever thing, and then we had this
33:29
talk, when you're young, you think that everything is the same, but after some
33:36
years you understand the difference.
33:38
Then we give the example for water.
33:41
Why will we invest in water when start to get older?
33:45
You understand the benefits of different kind of waters,
33:50
pH composition and everything.
33:52
And when we're talking about implants that you think, who is
33:55
your patient, what he deserves.
33:58
He deserves what we have in technology and benefits in everything.
34:02
And Straumann has a long-term history in implants.
34:06
We have a lot of innovation and we have the history.
34:13
So we think that now we had the opportunity to collaborate with
34:19
Straumann and also we are ready, we are major to take this position.
34:25
Maybe if you tell me five, eight years ago, maybe I'm not ready to this, to
34:31
understand all benefits and now what?
34:34
You have the opportunity.
34:35
I believe in the history, we learn it with this.
34:39
We have cases with 14, 15 years follow up with strong one tissue level, bone level.
34:47
And now with these kind of innovations that you are placing in the market
34:51
for the next 10, 15 years is what I want and what my patients deserve.
34:58
So this was the game changer for my life.
35:01
And I have to say, I had a pleasure to have a lot of conversations
35:03
with you now over the last, let's say, month and yesterday.
35:06
And I think we share the same values and and look in the same direction
35:10
if it comes to the philosophy.
35:11
I think that's the beauty of it.
35:14
Good.
35:14
Or third question from the community.
35:15
That leads us actually to the next chapter, which is more about
35:18
the future of the dentistry.
35:20
And there was a very interesting question, which is, do you think
35:23
that machines will replace dentists?
35:26
Tough question, huh?
35:27
Tough question.
35:28
Tough question.
35:29
I think.
35:32
Part?
35:32
Yes.
35:34
Not 100%.
35:36
I think labs, productions, everything, machines are replacing humans.
35:42
But I think it's going to be always a very good combination.
35:46
I think it's not going to be 100%, but part is going to be they are like
35:50
in the market now, we know a lot of nice people developing like robots
35:55
to prep robots to do good things that are like not for all the humans.
36:00
So I think yes, ai robots, machines, they will replace part of the
36:07
production, part of the technical part.
36:11
But I think we are going to be always in combining with the machines.
36:15
And I. I am the one that is not afraid of that.
36:19
Because a lot of people ask oh my God, do you think we are going to lose our jobs?
36:22
And no, we are going to combine.
36:24
I think this is nice, this is exciting.
36:28
Let's use them.
36:28
But yes, part in my opinion will be,
36:32
so it's like in Formula One, it's good to have a great car, but at
36:35
the end the performance is defined.
36:37
Defined by the title pilot.
36:38
Perfect.
36:38
I agree
36:38
100%.
36:39
It's already happening.
36:40
You go to, you don't go to the labs and you can see the Analogic guys that
36:45
use the ceramics and you can see the milling machines on the other side.
36:50
So at the end, it's already happening.
36:53
But you need to be careful and you need to decide what you wanna do.
36:58
It's like you wanna be scared or
37:00
you wanna learn from that.
37:02
Remember who will turn on the machines.
37:05
It's a human.
37:06
It's always gonna be, they will maybe.
37:08
Substitute someone that is not prepared.
37:10
If you are prepared, don't be afraid.
37:13
So depends on I agree.
37:14
Where you are.
37:15
Join to decide.
37:15
Join.
37:16
Join.
37:16
To decide.
37:16
You wanna press the button?
37:17
I agree.
37:18
Yeah, it's what you said.
37:20
Also, Juan, before you said, at one point you are born to want to move on.
37:25
And I think it's a good mindset because things will continue to
37:28
change and I think joining this
37:30
join
37:30
and learn about pros and cons, I think that's important.
37:35
When implant dentistry started, I remember that there were a lot of
37:38
dentists, perio dentists that were saying, no, I'm gonna stay with Presurgery.
37:44
I don't wanna make the jump to implants because at the end I only have more
37:48
like 10 years and then I will retire.
37:51
That's not the attitude.
37:52
Exactly.
37:54
'cause you need to grow, you need to understand what's new
37:57
and that will make you younger.
37:58
And that
37:59
This disruption, let's say from the technology.
38:02
I see so many so many examples in the dentistry.
38:06
And I will I will talk about social media because we were talking
38:08
about this and I remember 10.
38:11
Years ago or maybe more when we start to put like dentistry in in social media, a
38:17
lot of people started to call like me as a blogger, oh, you what do you want to do?
38:21
It was like a blogger or something.
38:23
I said, no I think, I believe that this is going to change a lot of things.
38:27
And I remember in 2015 I was in a congress and someone I was like eating
38:32
the breakfast and someone came to me from Poland, say, Gustavo say yes.
38:37
Oh my God, man, nice to meet you.
38:39
I like your work.
38:40
And I said, how?
38:41
Who are you?
38:41
You like my work?
38:42
And in Poland.
38:43
And then I start to see, wow, this is very powerful.
38:47
Yeah.
38:47
If I try to be solid here, maybe it's going to change a lot of things.
38:51
And I think now.
38:52
With navigation, guided surgery, ai, this is the same.
38:57
Robots and everything.
38:59
Why not?
38:59
We use this and not be afraid of try to not, this is not for me or this is, no,
39:04
this is not going to be the reality.
39:06
It is.
39:07
So use it.
39:09
That is the thing.
39:09
Yeah.
39:11
So if you look back, technology, what has been for you, one of the most
39:15
impressing, impressive and influencing technological innovations over the
39:21
last, let's say, two to three years that really changed what you do?
39:25
You wanna say something?
39:27
Yeah.
39:27
It's like something that we say in our office a lot of time it is like,
39:31
how could we leave without smile Cloud few years ago it was like, come on.
39:37
Yeah.
39:37
For me it was very changing that.
39:40
And if I have to 0.2 that and guided surgery.
39:44
Yeah.
39:45
Again, I'm a really big fan of guided surgery because my surgery specialty.
39:51
It's because I've been working in the university for a lot of years and I
39:57
was working in the postgraduate program in implant dentistry, and I remember
40:01
that when this conical implants came and the drills were like pointed.
40:07
1, 2, 3, 4. Not guided surgery I'm talking about.
40:10
10 years or 12 years ago.
40:12
That was life changing in the university because we didn't have to pay 150%
40:17
attention to the student because they, it was impossible to fail.
40:22
So some things quite similar with guided makes sense.
40:27
It's like you just have to follow the plan and smile cloud and the beginning is
40:33
the one that's gonna organize everything.
40:35
So the papa here is smile cloud.
40:38
The rest is just parts.
40:39
Yes.
40:39
Okay.
40:40
I would point that for sure.
40:41
Yeah.
40:41
What would you add guys?
40:42
Victor and Gutto?
40:43
For me, like scanners or guide surgery, navigations.
40:48
If we go to the literature, more than 20 years in the market, it's
40:52
not new, but this kind of cloudy that you can send the files by WhatsApp.
40:58
Yeah, by everything.
41:00
For me, this is magic.
41:02
Okay, I can scan now and I can send the file by WhatsApp in five seconds.
41:08
The guy in whatever country they can get, they can produce, they can print
41:13
and then can send it in the next day.
41:16
In two days.
41:17
We arrive in our country for, do you do this in
41:19
WhatsApp or in MyCloud today?
41:21
No,
41:21
we do can do in MyCloud.
41:23
But imagine that some guys were not use it to use this if you're not,
41:28
but you can just send by WhatsApp.
41:30
Yeah.
41:30
But this cloud that then you have the perfect software
41:34
that integrate everything.
41:36
It's beautiful.
41:37
And now we will add one thing you told about navigation guide surgery.
41:41
So sometimes the young clinicians, they will tell, I will not
41:46
prepare, I will not buy this.
41:47
I don't have money to buy this.
41:49
But the guy that have money to buy this, sometimes they don't have time.
41:55
And if you are not prepared.
41:57
When you have the opportunity to work for Dan, if you not have the
42:00
formation, you'll not have space.
42:03
So the ones that, okay, this is impossible.
42:05
It's not impossible.
42:06
Try to learn, because someone will hire you and you will be different.
42:10
You have to know Dan's basic pictures, implants, but you have to know
42:14
technology, CAD cans, softwares.
42:17
Then you make your difference in the job.
42:20
Yeah.
42:21
Yeah.
42:21
I will put if you ask two years from two years, I will add for sure it's
42:26
MyCloud for me, change at everything.
42:28
Come on, my office is here now.
42:31
I have everything there.
42:33
I have all my data, all the pictures, all the videos, all the planning,
42:37
all the DICOM files the SDL files.
42:40
The doctors are in my office now.
42:43
Seeing patients, uploading pictures in a group.
42:46
We talk.
42:47
We have, of course, AI inside AI is changing a lot of things.
42:51
Suggestions of smile shapes implant position.
42:54
It's so nice today to evaluate a case, communicate with the team, communicate
43:00
with the patient and everything.
43:02
It's in your cell phone or internal computer.
43:04
This is a game changer.
43:05
The planning is there.
43:06
Everything is so simple now.
43:08
So for me, last two years, this was the biggest game changer.
43:13
Yes, sure.
43:15
I think Victor, you also mentioned very nicely that it's important to
43:18
familiarize yourself with technologies.
43:21
So based on what you said, what are the three to four technologies that you know
43:27
now, in 2025, you would say, guys, in your practice, you really have to adapt this.
43:31
And I think Smart Cloud is probably one of them.
43:34
Yeah.
43:34
What do you see beyond Smile Cloud?
43:37
I like five technology that you need to invest or put in your clinic.
43:43
For me, it's going to be one software like MyCloud for communication,
43:47
for talk with the patient for, everything that is necessary inside.
43:52
I, I don't see an office today working without scanner.
43:55
If you really want to have all the data that it's necessary invest in
44:01
guided surgery if you're a surgeon, I think this is really predictability.
44:05
It's not only about like a 3D position of the implant in one or two cases.
44:10
This is a philosophy.
44:11
It's like your philosophy of work.
44:14
I just had three
44:16
CVCT for sure.
44:18
CV ct.
44:18
Yeah.
44:19
That's part of all this stuff.
44:21
Printing.
44:22
Printing, yeah.
44:23
Perfect.
44:24
You need to follow up the sign.
44:27
And be sure what you want.
44:29
Printing machine for provisional?
44:31
Yes.
44:31
Or maybe for mockups just to understand where you are and where you want to go.
44:35
It's very valuable and I think that printing is changing the direction
44:40
now and everything's gonna be a lot easier to have a chair site.
44:44
It's you don't need to go for a. Complete lab.
44:47
We understand that there's a lot of people in offices that are not gonna be able to
44:51
have a private lab just working for them.
44:54
But somehow with this printing devices that are making everything
44:58
a lot more comfortable, you're gonna be able to see the results that you
45:01
want to get before you do anything.
45:04
So I really think that printers are very important.
45:07
I let
45:07
also, magnification is very important for the clinic today.
45:11
If you're a dentist, you need to see better.
45:13
Yeah.
45:13
I'm not saying only like a microscope or something, but you have so many
45:17
nice loops in the market today and I think this is necessary in dentistry.
45:21
It's a technology that you need to have and because of your back.
45:24
Yes.
45:25
And for one thing more it's collect data of the patient, the basics.
45:33
So imagine that also we have some machine that the patient arrive at the
45:38
office and you can collect data, the health of the patient since saliva,
45:45
the heart pressure, blood pressure, and everything that could be fast
45:51
like machines that you can measure.
45:53
You measure say, okay, now today your blood pressure is this.
45:57
Your heart's like this, your saliva is like this.
46:00
You are healthy because we are touching in the body.
46:05
So something from technology for some app for the quick way that we can measure.
46:10
Yeah, that's already a bit visionary.
46:13
I would say, and brings me maybe to one of my last questions.
46:18
How do you see dentistry evolve?
46:20
How will dentistry look like in 10 years from now?
46:25
Put yourself in a dream of state.
46:26
Yes.
46:28
I think it's really going to be interdisciplinary and we are
46:32
going to use a lot of technology to first diagnose the patient.
46:37
Machines that helps you to analyze the patient saliva, systemic condition.
46:43
Of course reading the external and the internal part.
46:47
I think we are going to upgrade a lot in, in, in vision.
46:51
And of course using, I think, AI to help you for treatment plan execution.
46:58
And I think it's like data acquisition and diagnose and of course treatment plan.
47:06
I think AI is going to change a lot of things in the office.
47:10
Avoiding mistakes, I think you need to be prepared to use and, but I think.
47:16
I will see, like entering the office.
47:18
Patient is here, we put in the machine.
47:20
We read everything.
47:21
We analyze as a team, we discuss and we start guided procedures.
47:26
I think this is going to be the next generation of dentistry.
47:31
I think we have just started to talk about digital dentistry.
47:36
We are just starting.
47:37
There's a lot of things coming on.
47:40
I think it's gonna change completely.
47:42
Just a ting.
47:43
And I, I really believe, one of the biggest problems I think
47:50
in dentistry, like there's no protocolized procedures completely.
47:55
A hundred percent.
47:57
What I learned from the university is that we need to have everything
48:02
a hundred percent protocolized.
48:04
That way we will reduce the mistakes.
48:08
So I think that the field, the objective of digital will be get
48:12
a lot more in the planification.
48:14
Have a real amazing plan from the beginning till the end.
48:19
And once everything's approved, you just follow the dots.
48:23
And that's something that maybe today we are using 5% of the dentist, and
48:29
that's something that should get to a hundred percent and means that everything
48:34
will be a lot more predictable, efficient, and secure, and the result
48:41
will be just reproducible everywhere.
48:45
This, I really think that it's not good.
48:47
You're in Brazil and you go to Gutto and you know that the result is
48:51
gonna be perfect, but if you go to the result is gonna be beyond zero.
48:58
So I think that digital is here to change that.
49:01
Yeah, we should be able to reproduce not the perfect result because at the
49:06
end the mixture of the ingredients is something magic, but it should
49:11
be something that looks like
49:13
that helps elevate the level.
49:14
Yeah.
49:15
Makes sense for everyone.
49:16
Yeah.
49:17
Victor, run restorative perspective, how does future Yeah, for look like?
49:19
For
49:20
me, as he mentioned, nowadays if I see a beautiful case, for me
49:26
it's normal like everybody can do.
49:29
So that kind of innovation is to see the maintenance of the case.
49:37
What I can do for after 10 years, 15 years is still good.
49:41
So imagine that we can target our implant, our restoration.
49:47
If we have a app that I can see that they are brushing, they are cleaning
49:52
what heat, what is the force that this crown or this implant, how is the
49:58
plague stagnation in that situation?
50:00
Maybe the tooth brush doesn't touch this so you are not brushing.
50:04
So we can have a, how we can place some tags in the restorations that
50:10
we can following up everything or the patient can follow it and see warnings.
50:14
No, you are not clean.
50:15
Oh, you didn't clean me.
50:17
Come back again.
50:18
Then we have, this is gonna be very nice.
50:20
Yes, you have to monitoring everything.
50:23
Smart applications, smart devices.
50:25
Yes.
50:26
Yes.
50:26
And you know that toothbrush start to have this.
50:29
Yeah.
50:30
Everything that you
50:31
can monitor and everything.
50:33
Yeah.
50:33
So maybe this, if we place in the research field, when we start to
50:38
do dentures, we can place something to measure pH or another thing.
50:44
But it's too big.
50:45
Place this in a crown that we may, we need an implant in abutment for me.
50:50
And monitoring will be my dream.
50:52
Yeah.
50:52
Cool.
50:54
That sounds like a bright future and sounds like, as you said one, we
50:58
are just starting digital industry.
50:59
Yes.
50:59
I think we came a long way.
51:00
A lot of things are working already.
51:03
So thanks for sharing a lot of insights and inspirations.
51:06
And I know you also brought a question to me and the group maybe
51:11
we have Yeah.
51:12
We have Sure.
51:13
Questions for you guys.
51:15
We saw a lot of innovations in the lab yesterday and I see that
51:19
you have nice projects for the next five years or maybe more.
51:25
So bringing the question to you and strong, what do you really think
51:29
that Straumann is going to change in dentistry for the next five years
51:36
that you can share?
51:38
That I can share?
51:39
Yeah, that you can share.
51:40
I know that, yes, I know that they have
51:42
a lot of nice things, but the good thing, how do you see the strong position
51:47
changing dentistry in the next five years?
51:49
I think next five years, the good thing is we always have too many
51:52
ideas there's not a lack of ideas.
51:54
I think the next five years.
51:56
It's still the focus to improve and progress implant material.
52:01
And, that the componentry we use today, looking into the implants,
52:06
material surfaces, shapes we still believe we can make a difference.
52:10
There.
52:12
But also of course, restorative components are more and more focus specialty implants
52:17
for special situations, as an example.
52:19
So there's a lot of stuff that we can still do on the implant system.
52:23
As such, we are not at the end, by far not.
52:27
But then I think the next five years it'll also be a lot about, helping.
52:32
Create more efficiency, by, still improving the outcomes or maintaining
52:36
the outcomes, the long-term outcomes, the excellence, the clinical excellence.
52:40
But, making this more effortless, perfect, more efficient, more convenient
52:45
for you, but also for your patients, and I think there's a lot that we can
52:48
do, and I think digital will help us.
52:51
We build now this infrastructure cloud Straumann access.
52:57
And when you see that you have something like this infrastructure Straumann access
53:01
and you see what you can do with it and how many workflows you, you can innovate
53:06
on this, softwares that you can run on this it enable, it enables staff workflows
53:13
that you could not imagine before.
53:15
And I think this will be a big focus for us for the next five years.
53:18
Great.
53:19
This is great.
53:19
And, Andreas what what I remember from Straumann.
53:23
I don't know, maybe 10 or 15 years ago, it was a huge company focus on implants.
53:28
Like big implants, solid implants in the market.
53:31
And I see Straumann change it I don't know, maybe last five years.
53:36
Bringing a lot of innovation and bringing a huge portfolio of having products and
53:43
technology from data acquisition to ance.
53:48
And that is, was like for me a big change.
53:51
And I really want to listen from you.
53:55
Why, and how do you see Straumann or why Straumann started to combine
54:02
solutions and not only implants.
54:04
I think to, to what I said, if we wanna make these workflows more effortless and
54:09
easier and faster and more convenient without compromising on the long term
54:14
result, I think that's always important.
54:16
I. Then, we have to go beyond only the material we have to look into.
54:21
How you do stuff and how what tools you use and you just mentioned it.
54:26
Tools like data capturing, cbe, ct, smile cloud.
54:29
These tools are so key for you to make it effortless.
54:32
But then again, we need to make sure that all our components are
54:35
perfectly well integrated into this.
54:38
And, you're not having to use tricks here and there to make it somewhat
54:42
work, but that it's really, it's really created outta one and is very seamless.
54:47
And if we want to do this, then, we have to control big
54:50
parts of the workflow ourselves.
54:53
We have to offer it because if we do this we can make things much easier.
54:57
We don't today, often we depend on other companies that would say, look, can you
55:01
please, put this data file into your software so the clinicians can use it.
55:07
And most of the companies say, yeah, I do.
55:09
And they integrated.
55:09
Some don't.
55:10
And if they don't integrate, we depend on them.
55:13
And then you cannot work with the software.
55:15
So I think here we also need to make sure that things are perfectly well
55:19
integrated because only then it's really effortless and seamless for you.
55:23
Beautiful.
55:23
But still, what I wanna mention, Gutto is we remain to have an open mindset.
55:30
We are not creating something that is closed.
55:32
Quite a difference.
55:33
I think you saw this over the last days.
55:37
We try to remain open in the beginning of the process.
55:40
In the end of the process, we want to approach this very collaboratively,
55:44
invite also other great startups and innovators to join our platform.
55:49
So we, we try to stay open, but we see that certain things we
55:53
need to have a solution for.
55:54
Great.
55:55
Great.
55:55
Good.
55:56
Very nice.
55:57
Cool.
55:58
Thank you.
55:59
Victor.
55:59
Can I ask
56:00
? Yes.
56:01
You can always ask
56:03
just what makes Straumann different than the others in your front, your
56:09
heart, like your work here, but imagine that for the young guy that is watch.
56:13
Okay.
56:14
But what makes different, you have the history, the Swiss brand.
56:18
That's a great question, Victor.
56:20
And I'm 21 years with this company and I think it's really, it's one word or two
56:26
words that really make all the difference.
56:28
It's culture and its mindset.
56:31
We just have a different culture, a different mindset that you can feed it
56:34
with people, it's this passion, this caring, this going the extra mile and
56:38
this really loving, what we do and caring for you guys and for the patients, but
56:43
also the way we interact with each other.
56:46
I don't know if you observed this over last hundred percent last
56:48
times, but, and I think this makes stroma just a great place to work.
56:52
And it's not I don't want to oversell it.
56:54
We are not perfect, but I think we have good 21 years.
56:58
21 years.
56:59
How old are you?
57:00
Is that question?
57:01
When you are hired, we not allowed it to work since 12 years.
57:06
I started very young at Straumann.
57:08
No.
57:08
Beautiful then.
57:09
Very nice.
57:09
Very young at, it's very nice.
57:11
And I see this we met a lot of people and they are super
57:15
passionate about what they're doing.
57:16
Yeah.
57:17
We could feel that it was like when they were showing the material,
57:20
the production, the everything, you could see that it was not a work.
57:23
It's a hobby.
57:24
Yes.
57:24
And they pay me for this.
57:26
Yes.
57:27
And the, I think staying long with the companies, we have a lot
57:30
of people that are long with us.
57:31
I think you need to have, if you want to understand the field of implant industry,
57:34
you need to understand the depth of it.
57:37
You cannot stay superficial.
57:38
It's not going to work.
57:39
You really have to care about the details.
57:41
And this only comes with a couple of years of experience.
57:44
I think, of course, we also have great people coming in that bring
57:47
a lot of different skills that we don't have in digital, and
57:50
we are very grateful for this.
57:51
But for the core business, I think having people that are long time with
57:54
the company, it's a huge benefit.
57:56
Super.
57:57
So thank you guys.
57:59
Thank you.
57:59
Thanks for a very exciting conversation.
58:02
Really enjoyed it.
58:03
I have to say thanks for coming over and to the listeners of ProTalk.
58:07
Continue following us wherever you want to follow us.
58:10
Continue to submit questions to the future guests that we have, and we are
58:14
also happy to have your comments on how did you like the conversations and also
58:19
having a rating on all the platforms that you might listen to the podcast.
58:22
So thanks a lot for listening in.
58:24
Thanks guys for being here.
58:25
Thank you.
58:25
Thank you very much.
58:26
It was a pleasure.
58:26
Very much.
58:27
Yes.
