Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's early Mordy praise party. I am Sherry Mackie at
- 0:04Speaker 1: his time. Right now for today's word. Remember what God
- 0:10Speaker 1: is already done. Remember what God has already done. Genesis
- 0:19Speaker 1: thirty three twenty in the Message translation said, he then
- 0:24Speaker 1: built an altar there and named it l l Oh Israel.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Mighty is the God of Israel. You know, there are
- 0:34Speaker 1: moments in life when God does something so remarkable that
- 0:37Speaker 1: we know it could have only been him. A door
- 0:41Speaker 1: open that should have stayed close. A relationship is restored
- 0:45Speaker 1: when it seemed beyond repair, a burden is lifted, a
- 0:49Speaker 1: breakthrough comes, or a prayer is answered in a way
- 0:52Speaker 1: we never expected. In those moments, we're reminded that we
- 0:56Speaker 1: serve a mighty God. Jacob expir into one of those moments.
- 1:01Speaker 1: For twenty years, he had lived with the fear of
- 1:04Speaker 1: facing his brother Esau. Their last encounter had ended in
- 1:09Speaker 1: anger and threats. Jacob had deceived his father and stolen
- 1:13Speaker 1: the blessing that Esau believed belonged to him. The wounds
- 1:18Speaker 1: ran deep, and Jacob had every reason to believe that
- 1:22Speaker 1: Esau still wanted revenge. As Jacob journeyed home, he learned
- 1:27Speaker 1: that Esau was approaching with four hundred men. Imagine the
- 1:33Speaker 1: thoughts racing through their mind. He likely expected confrontation, punishment,
- 1:38Speaker 1: or even death. From a human perspective, the situation looked hopeless.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But when the brothers finally met, something extraordinary happened. Instead
- 1:49Speaker 1: of anger, y'all, there was forgiveness instead of revenge, That
- 1:54Speaker 1: was reconciliation. Esau ran to Jacob, embraced him, kissed him,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and will with him. What Jacob feared most became one
- 2:05Speaker 1: of the greatest displays of God's favor in his life.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The response of Jacob was powerful. He built an altar
- 2:14Speaker 1: and named it l Loh Israel, which means Mighty is
- 2:19Speaker 1: the God of Israel. Why an altar because Jacob never
- 2:23Speaker 1: wanted to forget what God had done. See, sometimes we
- 2:27Speaker 1: become so focused on the next challenge that we forget
- 2:30Speaker 1: the victories God has already given us. We moved quickly
- 2:33Speaker 1: from one prayer request to another without pausing to thank
- 2:36Speaker 1: Him for his faithfulness. Take a moment today and remember
- 2:41Speaker 1: remember the doors he opened, Remember the protection he provided,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Remember the prayers He's already answered. Remember the times he
- 2:50Speaker 1: carried you when you thought you weren't gonna be able
- 2:54Speaker 1: to make it. See those memories become altars of gratitude
- 2:57Speaker 1: that strengthen our faith for the future. The God who
- 3:01Speaker 1: work for Jacob is the same God working for you.
- 3:04Speaker 1: He's still restoring relationships, He's still healing hearts, He's still
- 3:08Speaker 1: making ways where there seems to be no ways. He
- 3:11Speaker 1: is still opening doors that no one can shut and
- 3:14Speaker 1: turning impossible situations around. Whatever challenge you're facing today, remember this,
- 3:21Speaker 1: The mighty God who helped you before has not changed.
- 3:25Speaker 1: He is still at work. He is still abel. Oh
- 3:29Speaker 1: Father God, thank you, Thank you that you are mighty.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You go before us in ways and work in ways
- 3:36Speaker 1: that we cannot see or understand. Thank you for every
- 3:40Speaker 1: prayer that you've answered. Thank you for every door you've opened,
- 3:42Speaker 1: and every victory you've given us. Help us to never
- 3:45Speaker 1: forget your faithfulness as we face new challenges. Remind us
- 3:49Speaker 1: on what you've already done and strengthen our faith to
- 3:52Speaker 1: belief or what you're about to do. God, we declare
- 3:55Speaker 1: that you're still working miracles, still restoring, and still making
- 3:58Speaker 1: a way where they're sin seems to be known in
- 4:01Speaker 1: Jesus' name. That's your word for today. Take it applied
- 4:03Speaker 1: to your everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged
- 4:06Speaker 1: and inspired. It's early warning praise party. I am Sherry
