- Chandler: Welcome back to Run After Cast, the college football podcast. I'm your typical Thursday host, Chandler, here with Ryan Ryan: Guys. Chandler: and Aaron. Aaron: State. Chandler: And we're back with another prediction and pick'em episode. But just to rehash the rules real quick, we're gonna go through, we're gonna say. Ryan: What do? Chandler: We're gonna go through each game. We're gonna have these boys guess the over-under in the line. Then I'm gonna tell them what the correct over-under line was, and then we're gonna all go through and we're gonna say whether or not the over-under will hit. And we're going to say who we think will win. So to get us started off with our Saturday slate, we have Indiana at Michigan. Brian, start us off. Ryan: I thought you were joking. Okay. I think Indiana is gonna be favored by four and a half points. And I think that the over under is gonna be forty three and a half. Aaron: I've got a guess of Indiana being favorite at seven and a half with an overunder and forty five and a half. Chandler: Indian is favored by seven and the over under is forty one and a half. So low scoring game for sure. Aaron: That is very Ryan: You know what? Aaron: low. Ryan: You know what? Give me team up north this week. I think Indiana is super vulnerable and they'll probably win. But for once, I'll pick Team Up North to win or at least cover. And for a big ten surprise, give me over on the over under. Aaron: we're starting our disagreements off early this week. Normally it takes a few games and yeah, give Yeah. Go ahead and give me Chandler: Sure are. Ryan: Mm-hmm. And I don't know Sherar. Sorry. Chandler: This guy is just just asking for just a disagreement. Aaron: Give me Indiana to cover. Win it. And but I'm going with the under. I I think we got some defense ball coming out of this game. Chandler: I agree. this is just this is a free pick. Indiana to cover and they over on points. Ryan: We know Team Went North though can run the ball really good. And their defense is just gonna out physical Indiana. Indiana hasn't scored a lot of points all year. I think even with Sucky Josh Hoover, their ride receiving core is too good. But like Team Went North kind of caught a spark last week. This is like last year when Auburn put in Ashton Daniels against Arkansas, and everyone thought he won the game. But he didn't really Chandler: The first Auburn mention. Ryan: but but he didn't really Aaron: Ha ha ha. Ryan: do anything. But him coming out kind of brought some kind of spark in a new life. And even the defense started making huge plays. And all offense, the run game opened up and everyone started making some plays. It's like a morale thing. So I think team up north started flying around. they get takeaways. Tommy Carr only threw like a couple passes, but he ran, but even worse, because he's like super white. But he didn't even really put the ball in harm's way like Bryce Hunderwood would. but that's kind of a random connection. I don't think it'll matter. Indiana will probably still win, but I think it'll be close. So just give me them to cover. Because why not? Aaron: Yeah, I d I just have Indiana's defense shutting down Michigan. I d I just don't I don't see it. Chandler: Agree. Aaron: I I now I don't think Indiana's gonna put up a whole lot of points. I just think it's gonna be a few more than Michigan. Ryan: Same. Chandler: Agree. No, you don't. You don't say same. Aaron: Ha ha ha. Ryan: It's a seven point spread, that's kinda huge. Chandler: It's not Ryan: I thought you just said it was seven. Chandler: It's not huge. It should be bigger. Indiana's won by like seventeen. It's not gonna be low scoring. It's not gonna be low scoring. Ryan: No, that if in a low scoring game, that's like a third of the points or something. Okay. Aaron: see I I I still I'm still on the side of the under for the low score. Ryan: I think it goes slightly over, but like no. Chandler: Indiana's gonna be like high twenties, probably low thirties. Ryan: It's it's gonna be a low twenties to mid twenties game. It'll probably seventeen Chandler: No Ryan: to twenty seven. Which isn't which isn't them covering. But that's like this close. Aaron: That's what that's that's how I see it. Yeah. Chandler: Which is high twenties. Which is high twenties as well. Aaron: Yeah. Ryan: But it's not low thirties. You're you're getting egregious here. It's whatever. Chandler: High twenties or low thirties. Gotta leave this guy. He just has to hold on to some hope, guys. And it's it's it's making fun of me, is what it is. Ryan: It's not. I like T North. Chandler: okay, let's go over to Auburn and LSU. Perfect, Aaron. Let's let's rock and roll with this one. Aaron: Yep. So I'm gonna see after LSU's week last week, they're gonna favor LSU by seven and a half, but I'm gonna put the scores a little under Bog standard at fifty-two point five. Ryan: See yeah, I think LSU's also Chandler: Dog standard. Ryan: going to be favored by seven. And I also think the over under should be fifty two and a half. Chandler: LSU is favored by seven and a half, and the over under is fifty one and a half. Aaron: So this one I'm gonna do for Ryan here. I think Auburn covers, wins, and takes the over. I I'm I'm I've got some I don't have a lot of faith in Auburn. I I don't think y'all deserve it, but you did just beat Georgia. I think LSU's coming over a hype win where they're gonna feel really good about what they just did against a very deflated Mississippi State team. And I I don't think that's gonna pay off for. Ryan: You have to give me offering to win. I have to be a homer. I'm a believer now. I'm a little scared we're coming off too big of a win. But give us to win and let's go over on the over under. Chandler: See, Aaron, I think LSU looked over y'all's game and still left you with a goose egg. and I think Auburn is gonna be more so recovering from a emotional win than LSU. And I think LSU's gonna cover. And I think LSU's gonna win. Aaron: I think that's a fair take. I'm just undoing some of the damage from all the shots I've taken at Auburn this season. Y'all get one win. So this week you get my you get my imaginary bet. And Chandler: I do think it's under though on the points. Fifty one and a half I think is too much. Aaron: see, I'm I I'm over all day on this one. I I think we got a lot of s squeaks into the end zone. Yeah. Ryan: I also think it's super over yeah, super over. Chandler: I don't think there's gonna be a lot of scoring on one side of the ball. I think there's only gonna be a lot of scoring on L S U side if any. Ryan: Shamer, I don't care if I'm wrong, but I have so much hope. I mean, what's that saying? They say you don't want an animal to get the taste of blood or they're gonna like start wanting again. Well, we got the taste of blood last week, and we're s we were starving, but we absolutely feasted last week, and now this year's bringing us more food. We gave Georgia a 14 point head start, and then we absolutely kicked their butt. And after that second drive, goalist said Joe Gordon Chandler: Ha ha ha Ryan: was still calling the place, but it was completely different. I think he just had enough. And start going the blaze himself. it's like the thing we've talked about all year. The it actually happened. We ran the ball with Byron Brown a million times. We ran the ball to the outside because where's the weakest point of the line? it's in the middle, and we only run draws plays. I don't know why I don't fix that by starting Kale Ellis, but it's fine, because Cole Best is such a great guy off the field of the I don't even care, so it's okay. But we ran the ball outside, even if we dropped the ball, Byron Brown put it right on them. And Byron run sooner and at least get back to line when he got sacked. That makes Segner and thirdow much more manageable. And the early 14 points were apparently only because Bryce Diaz, who came in for Xavier Atkins, was just in the wrong spot, but he fixed it and we played fine the rest of the game. And I would be terrified if all this stuff clicked at the same time. But what we can't do is think that we switch stuff up, and because they're expecting it, that we have to switch things now too. But I would just like Also, not think you should be scared to run Byron Brown. Look at Notre Dame and Riley Leonard a couple years ago. They would just run him over and over and over. And Byron Brown's huge. I would just be like, I am just that much bigger and stronger and better than you. I'm gonna run it right at you, and you're gonna have to stop me. And I'm just gonna keep doing it until you actually stop me. And we even have so many things that we could clean up. But like I would just be really scared. And I think this was like a glimpse last week into what they have promised us. And until they prove me wrong, I'm gonna ride the Homer and I think we're gonna go in and dominate this LSU's team. I'm really sad about Xavier Atkins. last year I had my wisdom teeth out right after Cam Coleman and Deuce Knight left. And I was freaking Aaron: Mm. Ryan: out that on my anesthesia, I was just gonna be crying, freaking out, telling the nurse like, Deuce Knight, Cam Coleman, they left. But this is worse because I thought he was gonna be here this whole year. He's already agreed to be on our team. So I need your parents to make me a freeze shirt. with him with his diamond grill on it or some kind of something. And other than benching Cole Cole best, I I think I think everything else is fine and I hope it works again. Aaron: Well, tune in Chandler: Ha. Aaron: on the Monday episode for a man who's gone through an emotional roller coaster to save this clip and then we'll watch the Monday clip and we'll see if there's a very different emotion being displayed. Chandler: Can't wait. And I want to be on the record as well saying I never want either one of y'all's teams to lose, especially not Ryan's, because I have to deal with it every Saturday when they do. Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: Because I'm there in person when it happens. And I want the best for that family, and I want them to win every game. But you know, we all thought they were gonna lose last weekend. And we can't, you know, think we're all of a sudden a great team. So that's why I got LSU. Wrong. Alright. Ryan: And it was the biggest win of all time. The biggest one ever. Everyone counted us out. No no, one more thing though. Chandler: Next we have Tennessee versus South Carolina. Ryan: This is a rivalry though. This LSU Auburn is a long historic rivalry, so in your face as well. Sorry. It is, it is, it it is. Aaron: It's not. It's not a real one. It isn't. No, you can't you can't be rivals with everyone in the SEC. I just, I, I Chandler: He is. They are. Aaron: just don't I don't accept it. Ryan: The S C West van. Chandler: Well I'm ex I'm excited for that game. And we're gonna we're gonna get to know the answer real early, eleven o'clock. Aaron: Yeah. Ryan: Okay, sorry. Sorry. Chandler: So next we have Tennessee versus South Carolina. Brian, what's here? Ryan: I know it's not, Chandler: Less words this time. Ryan: but you would think Tennessee would be favored by six and a half. And I'm gonna go fifty and a half, but I know South Carolina's favorite. Aaron: see, I also thought Tennessee would be favored here at three point five, and I had to guess at fifty-one point five is the over-under. Chandler: See, this is again where the AP poll should be structured around Vegas odds because Vegas, with their time and money and effort, blood, sweat and tears in this, let's trust them a little more than the AP poll. They definitely put more thought into it. And South Carolina is favored by two and a half, and the overunder is fifty and a half. The eleventh best team in the country is an underdog to an unranked South Aaron: Well Chandler: Carolina team. Ryan: Give me Tennessee Aaron: Ryan's going Ryan: to win. So they'd have to cover. 'Cause I guess they aren't favored for some reason. And give me the under on points. Aaron: I actually like where Vegas is at with it. Give me South Carolina to cover and give me the over here. I think South Carolina's gonna put up some surprise points. Chandler: You know what, Aaron, I like that. And that's what I was thinking too. I think South Carolina wins this game. And I think the over under of fifty and a half smashes. I think it's over fifty and a half. Maybe maybe Aaron: Yeah, I mean Chandler: fifty one. Aaron: Tennessee hasn't reliably put up a lot of points this season, but South Carolina's been on a little bit of a tear. And if the right Lenore Sellers shows up to this game, it's gonna be a shocker as well as we've seen Tennessee crumple under defensive pressure and we've seen fantastic defensive pressure come from South Carolina this year. So Tennessee's defense has been incredible. Lenores is hard to pin down. Ryan: This is my last rant. It's about a third of the size his last one, so it's not as long. But you know why they win this game? Aaron: Does Auburn come up? Ryan: You know why Tennessee wins this game? Well, one time. You know why Tennessee wins this game? Deshaun Bishop, that blue eyed man, is so good at running that ball. I can't even believe it. He's their entire offense. And I don't care if Luke Fahey's playing quarterback. Sorry, Channel, I'm kidding. I swear I'm a believer. But South Carolina. Can't play a whole game of football, and no matter how good Lenores and their offense is, Derek Owings has just made some absolute monsters all over that field with his steroid strength program. Look at him: Deshaun Aaron: Alleged. Ryan: Bishop, Xavier Gilliam, Arian Carter, in the best man-to-man quarter in the entire country from none other than the Auburn University, Kai Ann Lee. And then you put the 2024 best defensive coordinator, Jim Knowles, in the equation, and you get the Derek Owings-Jim Knowles connection. And they absolutely stuffed Alabama last week. Give them absol absolutely stuff South Carolina. And they'll just be able to outphysical them running the ball too. Because all of their O line is on the Derrick Owing steroid protocol. And they are just the more Aaron: Alleged. Ryan: physical team. They're the most physical team ever. I'm sorry for the eight and four jokes. No more. Gimme Tennessee. I'm a Tennessee believer. Aaron: I'm knocking back down. Tennessee's Chandler: We we got we we've gotta Aaron: eight and four. Chandler: we've gotta let Auburn will lose a couple more games here because this is the the homerness is coming out too much. No, I mean listen, Aaron: Yeah, we can't we this is energy we can't have anymore. Yeah. We we gotta we gotta tamp it down a little bit. Ryan: Derek Owings, Derek Owings, Derek Owings. Chandler: South Carolina if you're watching this game, Shane Beamer, if you stop Deshaun Bits Bishop, you win the game. Ryan: Mm-mm. You can't he's too enhanced. The O line, they're too Chandler: That's all you do. Aaron: Alleged. Ryan: they're too in their whole team's too enhanced. The O line, Chandler: Enhanced with hope. Ryan: too enhanced. The only thing Aaron: Yeah. Ryan: that Dylan Stuart's enhanced with is punching people in the face and being mean to his coach. Chandler: And that's what Xavier Atkins is enhanced with too. That's why he's off the team. Aaron: you crashed him. You crashed him down. Chandler: okay. You know, we're off to a hot start. We're seeing a side of Ryan that we don't usually see. And it's it's weird. We're gonna have to ask what was in that chicken and rice, I guess. Aaron: Yeah, when Auburn wins, we haven't seen it all seated. Yeah. Chandler: so next we have Texas AM versus Alabama. Aaron, whatcha got? Aaron: I got a guess of Alabama being favored by ten and a half with an over-under of fifty-two and a half. Ryan: I think Alabama twelve and a half and I also think fifty two and a half. Chandler: Alabama by fourteen and Aaron: Ooh. Chandler: the over under at fifteen and a half. Aaron: That's fair. I I I went more conservative on the Alabama dominance in this game. I think fourteen, still not enough. Give me Alabama to cover and give me the over on this. I I think both defenses will show up, but I think Alabama's gonna be in for a comeback game. I think they're gonna be fired up. And AM hasn't really stopped anything this year and produced a lot either. Ryan: Give me Alabama to one in cover, and give me the under on the points. Aaron: Fair take? Chandler: See, I think they should have come off that Georgia game with some fire after one loss and then they lose again back to back. Now I think it's like a if they want to make the playoffs, they have to win out. They lose again and it's gonna be a a tough sled to get back in there. So Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: I think they have to harden up and and not play so soft and they have to come out fiery. So I think Alabama covers and wins and the over on points because they they have no choice. And if I'm wrong then it's a hot seat. Over there in Tuscaloosa for some kind of coach. Calen War, Ryan Grubb, Ryan: You know, Chandler: somebody. Ryan: I think you have a great point. Cause it's a simple equation. Texas AM, not good. Really bad actually. And Alabama Chandler: Who is this guy? I mean Ryan: Alabama's been great, except for when they got utterly dominated last week by Derek Owings and Jim Knowles and Deshaun Bishop. They are just going to be mad when Caitlin DeBore can't get it done. And he's gonna have to show how good he is by beating up on little Texas A Chandler: Means more. Ryan: But Aaron: Yeah. Ryan: but they 'cause for some reason they're still rank thirteen because of Nick Saban in their cool uniforms. So that's cool. Aaron: LSU, you gotta do us a favor here this week. You gotta tap this down for us. Ryan: Wha What? What? I Chandler: There was a bone there was a bone. Ryan: just picked Alabama. Wha what do you mean? Aaron: You Auburn wanted energy. No, I know. Chandler: okay. Now we're gonna go we're gonna Ryan: They're the worst and I picked them. Chandler: we're gonna not have the same enthusiasm for this game, I can guarantee it. Because no confidence ever comes out of this man talking about the Big Ten unless it's Ohio State. So we're gonna go over to Iowa versus Minnesota. Ryan: I think Iowa's gonna be Chandler: On FSO. Ryan: favored by seven. And I think the over-under is gonna be fifty and a half. Aaron: I I like where you at with the line. I think I've got, I would have guessed, 7.5 favorite, but I got it way lower over under. I got this at 41.5. Chandler: It is Iowa by six and a half, and the over under is even lower at forty and a half. Aaron: That is not a lot of points, but makes sense. However, I like Iowa. Ryan: Wait, you said it was what? Was the over under? Chandler: Forty and a half. Ryan: Forty and a half. Chandler: Mm-hmm. Ryan: You know, Minnesota got absolutely curb stomped by Purdue last week, but I would like to see a win like I saw against team up north. So give me Minnesota to win, or at least cover, because why not? Aaron: Insanity. Insane. yeah. I like Iowa here. I think Iowa covers. I think Iowa absolutely dominates this game. And I'm still gonna go with the under though. I don't see this as a shootout. I see it as a three and out the game. Chandler: I you would think this is a C B D sponsored episode. Ryan: Well what do you think? Chandler: This guy's unhinged. Ryan: You told that one guy at Disney Road he loved C B D. Chandler: I know I said I dabble. Aaron: Ha. Ryan: yeah, you devil. Chandler: Okay. And that's that's not real. Ryan: Wait, wait. You didn't Chandler: Off the record, don't do that. Ryan: He thought it was music. He thought it was E DM, like J. Marcourt music. What do you think you think Iowa wins as well? Chandler: I think Iowa wins because they're the fifteenth best team in the country. And the AP poll doesn't get it wrong. They are the fifteenth best team in the country Ryan: Which means nothing. Okay. Okay. Aaron: Ha ha. Chandler: and anybody below them they will beat. So therefore give me Iowa to cover and gimme gimme the under on points. Aaron: It is a hard Ryan: Okay, I Aaron: one to take the over or under on, because it is Ryan: It is. Aaron: so low scoring. I just don't have any faith of a lot of points being put up on that board. Ryan: Iowa realistically wins this game, but it would be so funny if Minnesota could pull it off. But I don't know if they have it in But like it's probably gonna be a low twentieth game, like we always say. So seven points is like a big chunk, you know? So why not why not cover? Not cover. Chandler: Yeah. Yeah. Why not? Why not? Okay, so now we have another AP pole catastrophe here. number seven Old Miss at number nineteen Texas. Aaron: So I have a guess here. Texas is gonna be favored. Because they're Texas. And everybody favors Texas by three and a half points. I got a overunder guess of fifty five point five. So give me the blog standard. Ryan: Yeah, I was gonna say, I know it's not, but you would think Ole Miss would be favored by three. And I also picked fifty five and a half. Chandler: Texas is favored by three and a half and the over under is fifty three and a half. Aaron: So a a slightly under on score. I don't like where Vegas is standing on here. Give me Ole Miss. They look like they're back in form. We they had a strong dip with Lacey out. Back. They're looking good. They're rolling. Hexes, on the other hand, been in a down swing with Simmons not in. That was really the defensive side of the ball that we were watching. It was exciting to see. Not there this week, listed as doubtful. So yeah, give me Ole Miss to cover win. And give me the over here. I I still think we're gonna see a lot of points get put up on the board by both teams. Ryan: Yeah, gimme almost to win. And I guess they'd have to cover because they aren't favored for some reason. And give me the over on the points. Chandler: Yeah. I like Holmes Winning. I like the under on points. Aaron: I could yeah, I there's a world absolutely where both defenses are there, slowing it down. A Ryan: Yeah. Aaron: lot of mistakes, turnovers. Chandler: I think Texas's defense won't let Olmus score a ton of points, but I think Olemus doesn't have a problem winning. If that makes sense. Aaron: Yeah. I I if Simmons would in was in, I think there would be a lot more question to this, but Chandler: Even with that, Key W not Key One, Trinidad is an elusive guy and I don't Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: think he he doesn't get down to the ground very, very easily. So I like Ole Miss winning pretty comfortably, but I I definitely like the under on points. Ryan: This is a weird game. Because Olmus has shown their struggles on defense. But even though they let Austin Simmons there for 330 yards and they didn't force any turnovers, still held on to three points somehow. And this year their only really bad win was against Florida. But it seems like it just took a couple weeks to try to figure out how to shut down Florida. And Texas couldn't even really start them. But Texas just has so much talent all over the field. I can't believe that they're not good. they figure out how to throw the game at the end, however they want. And I think the best comparison that I've came up with for Arch Manning is Peyton Thorne. he can do okay when he has but when he really has to do something, he's not gonna go down and win you the game. And you're gonna say, what about Ohio State? whatever. It was super fluky. He didn't even have to do anything. And he had some special time. It was almost like he had extra time. time wasn't linear. He had extra time than even exists and only for that fourth quarter. And then for Texas to be competitive, they've shown that they're just no good. And Olmus is clicking better, I think, with Keywan Lacey. So the potential for them to dominate is a lot higher. And I think it's disrespectful that they're not favored in this game. But I think Texas has potential. They just can't click. Chandler: it's funny because I saw a meme that was like Cam Coleman went from Jackson Arnold to Jackson Arnold two point so I'm surprised you didn't use him as a reference. Aaron: Mm-hmm. Ryan: He's an above average SEC quarterback. I guess Peyton Thorn was statistically he was ranked like highest Chandler: Yeah, for sure. That's why he's at UNLV. Ryan: he was ranked highest twenty five yard plus passes or something, but he's terrible and would throw four interceptions. Chandler: Course. You have to find the nitpick stats. Okay. USC at Wisconsin. Here we go. Ryan: I think USC is gonna be favored by three, and I think the overunder is going to be forty eight point five. Aaron: That makes me feel better because this was the hardest one for me to crack down on of where this line was gonna be. So my guess was that USC was gonna be favored by three and a half with an overunder of fifty two point five. Chandler: USC is favored by three and the over under is fifty and a half. Aaron: Not a lot of point we we've had a few point five left off this week. Ryan: Mm-hmm. Aaron: Throwing me through Chandler: Yeah. Aaron: a loop. Ryan: Yeah. USC will probably win this game, but they have the worst defense ever. And just for fun, give me Wisconsin. I've kind of liked them a lot this year. And Chandler: Yeah. Ryan: they got me that win against Penn State. And I know y'all are picking USC, so give me Wisconsin to win, or at least cover, and let's go over on the points. Aaron: I enjoy Wisconsin as well. I just don't believe in him. Chandler: Especially their cheese curds. Aaron: Yes, I just don't believe him in as strong as you do. I do think they're gonna keep it a tight game. The fact that it's favored USC by three, I think that means USC covers wins. Give me the over here. I think this is gonna be some sloppy ball. I think we're gonna get some some yardage and some good field position for starting for where the ball's starting off and on a lot of drives, and I think that turns to seven points for both teams a lot. Chandler: I am picking this so Ohio State has the best chance to win the next weekend. USC has to Aaron: That's biased. Chandler: win this game. So they don't have a fire in them to be able to, come back and, win the next week. But it's at Wisconsin. And traveling across country is not easy. And I th that's why I think this line is tighter than it could be if it was at their place. I think USC wins and I think they cover. But I'll take the under on points as well. Aaron: That's a fair take too. Ryan: Yeah, US USC probably wins this game. I just think it'd be funny. Aaron: It would be. I like in my heart, I'm rooting for Wisconsin. Ryan: Wisconsin really hasn't done anything other than the Penn State. It would just be so funny. Aaron: Yeah, it would be. And when I watch that game, I'm gonna be rooting for Chandler: Okay, for our second to last game, we have Houston at Utah, our nine fifteen nightcap game in Salt Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: Lake City. Ryan: Is this me? sorry. Aaron: So no, I think I'm up on this one. Give me this heavy favorite towards Utah. Ten and a half going their way with an over under of fifty eight point five. Ryan: Okay, I picked you how Chandler: You you did just ha Aaron: Sponsored by you all. Ryan: I did the drone sum roll on accident. Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: You just you just hard though. That was funny. Ryan: I think Utah will be favored by four and a half, and I think the over under be fifty five and a half. Chandler: Yuha is favored by six and a half, and the over under is fifty six point five. Aaron: Well. So I'm done this season trying to not or trying to doubt teams that have been rising up. Give me Utah all day on this. Win cover and I'm gonna go under on points. Ryan: I you tell's the clear favorite here, but give me Houston. I like Connor Wingman. I think Houstons look good. They've been fun to watch. So why not? Give him to win or at least cover. And let's go over on the points. Cause why not? Aaron: Hey, this season, why not, is just as good of a prediction as Chandler: Why not? Aaron: anything else. Chandler: I think one of these two teams win. give me the cover, because why not? And give me the under on points. Aaron: Yeah. Why not? Chandler: No, I mean think Utah probably wins this game. But you know, I could also see Houston winning this game. So Aaron: Think whoever comes out with more points at the end. Ryan: Same. Chandler: whoever has more points will definitely find themselves victorious. And for that reason I have the under on the points. Aaron: I I I'm feeling under two. I I just think we've had a lot of close Chandler: Give me fifty six on the nose. Aaron: points. Yeah. 56 on the nose. Ryan: think I think it's actually a pretty good line for the over under. So I Chandler: That's why I said fifty six on the nose. Aaron: I did too, yeah. Ryan: know, I know. Chandler: Okay, now to scroll back up, because your host forgot to include Mississippi State because I only had it filtered for the top twenty five. So I apologize, Aaron. Ryan: How disrespectful Aaron: My heart. Ryan: How disrespectful? Chandler: So let's Ryan: They were ranked twenty five before Camario died. Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: Turf Toe. Happens to the best of us. Ryan: And he's gonna be back. He's gonna be back. Chandler: Okay, so in Starkville Aaron: Thank you well. Chandler: we have the Oklahoma Sooners, the John Matir sub sandwiches coming to play Mississippi State, and the the Puckmaster at two thirty. Ryan: I think Oklahoma's gonna be favored by seven. And I think the over under will be forty two and a half. Aaron: Everything I say from this point on is a Mississippi State's fan perspective. so I think Oklahoma State will be favored by four and a half with an over-under of 45.5. Chandler: Good thing you're not playing Oklahoma State. Aaron: Oklahoma. Oklahoma. I think Ryan: I hope you're playing Oklahoma Chandler: If you were playing Oklahoma State and they were Ryan: State. Chandler: favored, we'd have a real problem. Ryan: Yeah, we would. Aaron: They probably still beat us. Chandler: Ha. Aaron: so I'll retake. Yeah. Ryan: It's actually not that terrible this year, actually. Chandler: Yeah. Especially after that letter we got. Ryan: Yeah, their quarterback's gonna be the first round pick or whatever. Aaron: So I got Oklahoma to be favored here by four and a half with an over-under of forty-five and a half. Chandler: Oklahoma is favored by four and a half. And the over-under is forty-four point five. Aaron: It's low. It's a low scoring game. And I don't disagree. Chandler: Sure is because you haven't scored a touchdown in two weeks. Ryan: Wait, Camario and famario and Fluff Aaron: Three. Ryan: are both not playing again, right? Aaron: They are listed as doubtful, I believe. Or they're Ryan: Okay. Aaron: they're not listed to Chandler: Ha Aaron: play right now. No, it's not. Ryan: That's not good. I'm really sorry. Chandler: No, sir. Ryan: Oklahoma to win and cover, I'd maybe altline and then give me the under. Chandler: Hold on. You can't just say you're gonna outline and not tell us what the outline would be. What's your outline? Ryan: I don't wanna be mean. No no no. I don't wanna be mean. I I don't wanna be mean! Chandler: No no no. You already opened the can. Aaron: It's fair. It's fair. Listen, Auburn won last week. I have taken more shots at Auburn. You you must say it. Chandler: No no no no. We will not come off this segment until you tell us what that outline is. Ryan: No, I'm I'm not taking a shot. Chandler: Yeah you have to. Ryan: I'm not being mean. Chandler: You already did. You just s snuck it in there and said you were Ryan: I Chandler: gonna outline. Ryan: the game's gonna be Aaron: So I I Ryan: twenty seven to six or something. Like I'm not trying to be mean. If Chandler: So altline altline twenty five. Aaron: That's better than last week. That's really good. Ryan: if if Camario and them are there, you win this game thirty five to Aaron: Eyes closed. Ryan: seventeen. Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: Okay, I would argue that Oklahoma's defense could be a little bit better than L S U's defense. So you Aaron: That's true. Chandler: you see them scoring s six times the points against Oklahoma. Ryan: No, I think they kick a fuel goal this time because he realized that like Aaron said, he said, zero looks really bad, I can't do that again And he's gonna kick a fuel goal or two. Aaron: Zero gets you dropped off the AP list even as an A an SEC team. Yeah. Chandler: Quickly. That zero's Ryan: I think he's Chandler: filled up with rocks and sent you down to the bottom. Ryan: gonna do all he can he's gonna do all he can to kick a field goal or two this this Aaron: Yep. Ryan: week. Aaron: So Chandler: Four two. Aaron: I got Mississippi State to win this thing to cover. Chandler: Ha ha ha. Aaron: Give me the under on points. But we win. I listen, I believe Chandler: So yeah, you have the puck master taking you to good places. Aaron: in Puckett. And you know, why not? No, I I did like what I saw out of him last week. Ryan: Yeah, why not? I like that. Aaron: I'm hoping that this week we go into this game knowing Kamario wasn't gonna play. Still listed out. And I think, Chandler: You knew he wasn't gonna play last week, too. Aaron: yes, but we did not adjust the playbook to that regard at all. And I hope. That this week we show up, we give Puckett more of a chance to play his style ball and not try to replicate what Kamario was doing. Because nobody can do that. He's a very special quarterback. But like I said, I I liked what I saw out of Puckett. If we change the playbook a little bit, give him more of a chance. Defensively, we're gonna be struggling. But good thing for us that John Matir has also struggled all season. So I think that kind of helps us balance out. We we're missing a safety and a linebacker still. So That's gonna be tough to overcome, but hey, yeah. Chandler: So I have a question for you. You say you want the playbook changed, schemes changed. What do you want to see? Aaron: So I want to give Ryan: Yeah, what is Puckett's style? Aaron: I we haven't seen enough. Chandler: 'Cause I've never really watched any tape on him. Aaron: So what I'd like to see for a young quarterback playing at home this year or this game with the cowbell noise, he's gonna be a little bit more familiar with that. I'm hoping John Matthews just rattling the whole time. I'd like to see some short options, some a couple comeback routes, a couple start and stops, maybe some curls over the middle. And just getting him some options and to open up the offensive line for him to make some scrambles. Cause some of the plays he made on foot la last week were great. He had a couple great drives that took him down to the red zone. We just didn't strike. And so, I mean, if we scored those field goals and the end zone drop that we had from Evans on the two-yard line, if that would have gone in, that game would have been between Seventeen, twenty points. That's a lot better than zero. And I think scoring seventeen to twenty points on somebody like Oklahoma is enough to maybe pull off a win. Ryan: I think your coach last year this is not a cuss, I swear. He said pucket that we weeball, And he kept the same playbook. I think he's gonna do it again. I think he's gonna do it again. Aaron: Yeah. I think so too. I but I as a fan, I have to say Mississippi State wins it. Ryan: No, I get it, I that's very commemorable of you. If that's the right word. I don't know. Commendable. Commemorable. Aaron: It's close. Yeah. Chandler: I mean I think Oklahoma wins and covers and The under on the points too. Aaron: Two like the underarm points. Ryan: Aaron, Chandler: I like the under because I Ryan: I'm really sorry. Chandler: I up unfortunately don't see Mississippi State scoring a tremendous amount of points. I see them scoring more than zero for sure. So that's a positive. But not enough to cover forty four and a half, unfortunately. Ryan: Same. And Aaron, I'm really sorry. We need Camario back. I Chandler: We do. Ryan: would even think about giving him my toe or something if that would help. If Aaron: Yeah. Ryan: if that makes you feel better. That's how much I feel for you right now. Aaron: I appreciate it. I Chandler: When Aaron: but I think this week we'll see some Puckett to Evans connections. Chandler: What the puckster's all about. Aaron: Yeah. And and I think the Evans connection does show up. I just don't think it's gonna be a forty yard bomb downfield. I think he's gonna make a play with his legs after a catch and it's gonna look great. Give me two Chandler: It's okay Aaron: of them. Chandler: because I expect you to do the same thing to me next week. Whenever we're talking about the same situation and not having a starting quarterback and a starting running back. So Ryan: I don't know, Legend Bay is gonna tear Aaron: It hurts. Ryan: it up at quarterback. Chandler: It Aaron: Just direct snap it to him every play. Ryan: Dude, it would be h no, he played quarterback in high school. It would be hilarious. But he tries to do too much Chandler: He played quarterback in high school. That's all he played. Ryan: on kickoffs. Imagine him with Aaron: That's funny. Ryan: the ball at quarterback. He would try to do so way too much. Not good. Luke Fehey. Chandler: Yeah, man, it's gonna fun. It's gonna be a fun time. But that's next week, unfortunately. I get to sleep like a baby this weekend. Aaron: You're very lucky. Ryan: You have to get up and watch a rivalry game with me. Chandler: To watch it wake up and watch a whole lot of losses. Aaron: It's not there's no rivalry game going on for Auburn this week. Chandler: for for the podcast sake And for the overall emotion and excitement that we have when we recorded this episode today, because Ryan brought another energy that we haven't seen all year because he Aaron: Yeah. Chandler: has the spirits of Auburn in him right now. And I'm not sure that's the only thing that's in him. But you know Ryan: What what is that supposed to be? Chandler: Having both of you guys come off a win and a bye week from I that's a that's a triple crown for a win of a week. So let's come in Monday and let's have a great episode because everybody's gonna win. Aaron: I I just hope both teams have fun. Chandler: It's not upward. Aaron: Ha ha ha. Chandler: But with that being said, that wraps up our seventh week of predictions in Pick'em. I can't believe that we're already over halfway done. It's insane. Aaron: I know. I know. Ryan: Sad. It's sad. Aaron: And you know what? Each week what we do here matters less and less because it's a truly unpredictable season. But Chandler: Yes. Aaron: it's Ryan: Mm-hmm. Aaron: it's really turning into one of my favorites. Chandler: It is. Aaron: even it's absolute chaos and that's one of my favorite things about college football. So love to see it. Ryan: Last week might have been one of my favorite weeks of college football I have watched in a long time. one of my best ones ever. Every game was great. Chandler: It was good. It was good.
