Staten Island just got its official flag — and it’s a bold, symbolic design that’s been flying unofficially for a decade. Featuring Henry Hudson’s ship, indigenous oyster boats, and a warrior woman with doves on her shield, the flag was crafted by designer Emil Micha and Borough President Jimmy Oddo to replace the old seagull-over-garbage heap emblem.
