1:43
[SPEAKER_03]: I got the boxing gloves on if I have to defend my man.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'll defend my man.
1:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait to hear it.
1:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I did in the privacy of my own computer and home.
1:57
[SPEAKER_03]: get really snippy with you in a chat.
2:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you saw it because I did see it, but I was like, you were ignoring me.
2:05
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like, so like, I, like if you don't know me, like typically my, my temper is pretty even keels, like it takes,
2:16
[SPEAKER_03]: It does, it, it, it, it, it tastes a lot for me to let the demons out.
2:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's let the angel out, let the Aries moon shine.
2:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I'm an Aries moon if that means anything to you.
2:25
[SPEAKER_03]: But um, and like you said something, you said you taunted me.
2:27
[SPEAKER_03]: That's what it is.
2:28
[SPEAKER_03]: You taunted me.
2:28
[SPEAKER_03]: I, I taunted nobody.
2:29
[SPEAKER_03]: You taunted me.
2:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I can tag you and I swear.
2:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I swear.
2:43
[UNKNOWN]: I swear.
2:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Because like I wrote something like regarding, oh, I wish it's like the regard like in regards to the the kiss between Spike and Buffy.
2:57
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, you get this off my screen.
3:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to see it.
3:00
[SPEAKER_03]: And then you taunted me by sending a gift a Jeff whatever is your brand of a Jeff if you nasty.
3:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
3:12
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even, like, boohoo.
3:14
[SPEAKER_03]: So it is, it is a parvity shallow.
3:16
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're a survivor fan, a parvity shallow gift of her just like sticking out her bottom lip going like, and that piss me off because
3:27
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't talk, oh no, I do talk to you, but I don't talk to you, you are the queen of like not only am I going to talk to you, I'm going to talk to you and talk to you.
3:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I, yeah, I'm living, yeah, this episode, I think we are, I can't, I really, here's the thing, this episode is fine, like I don't, I don't feel like it is like,
3:49
[SPEAKER_03]: breaking any crazy new ground.
3:51
[SPEAKER_03]: It is not the most exciting episode.
3:52
[SPEAKER_03]: However, I was so excited because I was like, oh, oh, we're going to disagree so hard on this episode.
3:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And I can't wait because it always makes a good podcasting.
4:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Always makes a good content.
4:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
4:02
[SPEAKER_03]: So the long and the short of it is like I went on this like five minute rant about how Jessica likes toxic men.
4:12
[SPEAKER_03]: like like whatever his face is spike and how that's so attractive for Buffy to like somebody that treats a woman like absolute shit and be just because he has a silly accent, which is fake by the way and her eyes some like witty combat comments all the girlies swoon
4:36
[SPEAKER_03]: And I, like, I don't want to say that's pathetic for everybody that gets wet over that, but like I will say that like you'll never catch me seeing a man who is a man, man, who might be a little bit boring and might have like a little bit of like ragey issues once in a while and made very insecure.
5:02
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk about it, um, over a guy that threatens to throw a tombstone at a girl.
5:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh, you're leading up the tombstone and is about to throw it, but then throws it right next to Harmony.
5:17
[SPEAKER_03]: And then be excited that he's kissing our girl, Buffy, who is literally our like,
5:26
[SPEAKER_03]: It's amazing to have somebody like Buffie, a character like Buffie, to be such an independent, awesome woman, but yeah, let's get all whiting and crazy about her hooking up with some doofus with a fake English accent.
5:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, love that for us.
5:43
[SPEAKER_03]: So my argument would be, and we'll get to this, when we get to the segment of the actual episode, but
5:52
[SPEAKER_03]: I, it is, I would say of the 100%, right?
5:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if I am 100% spuffy, or, you know, what is it?
6:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, is it spuffy, I think, as they call them?
6:03
[SPEAKER_03]: If I am 100%, because that ship is irrelevant to me.
6:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, because it doesn't even happen yet, right?
6:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess, anyway, if I am, if we're talking, like, if I am 100% spuffy, right?
6:13
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd say like 50% of that is because it makes you so mad.
6:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Like 30% of it is because they have really great chemistry.
6:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think we're, yeah, well, we'll talk again.
6:25
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk about the kiss.
6:27
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like 20% of it is because I really do love an enemy solver's trope.
6:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, if my best friend was buffy in real life, and she was like, I'm thinking about this man's spike.
6:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd be like, girl, no, you need to get your head checked.
6:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
6:45
[SPEAKER_03]: not to get your head in the game like Troy Bolton.
6:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God, that's so get your head in the game.
6:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Why are we making a high school musical references?
6:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but anyway, and that may be one.
6:56
[SPEAKER_03]: So you don't need to see it anymore than that.
6:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, let's back up because we have so that is a very tail end of the episode.
7:02
[SPEAKER_03]: And we have a lot to talk about in your do we, but
7:05
[SPEAKER_03]: And we do, we do, we do because we have to talk about the Buffy and Riley situation because it is so interesting to me that like last episode, we last podcast, we talked a lot about like, oh, this is a red flag like that he feels like she doesn't love him.
7:24
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't really see any kind of proof that that's true.
7:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously physically, they're very much like intimate a lot and we did get like a couple of comments
7:36
[SPEAKER_03]: on our YouTube channel about how like physicality isn't everything, right?
7:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like how that, if a, if a, of some from ascended sex, say on, sorry if I'm not saying that correctly, if a relationship is strictly physical with next to nothing else, it's a red flag.
7:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Buffy has kept plenty from him and only had to tell him when she couldn't hide things in a longer, full of a lot, talks more about the angel stuff which, in my opinion, is kind of a relevant at this point.
8:05
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we, we jump right into like, whoa, trouble and paradise this episode in a way that I was kind of shocked to get like, I thought this was going to be much more of a like slowly paste out kind of falling apart of a relationship.
8:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Sarah, you, you tell me if you're reading this differently, but when Buffy in the very beginning of the episode when Buffy is slang and income's Riley, she is getting so much of the, from his mother in her so like I guess like that is a good main topic of discussion for the beginning of the podcast and I believe we have spoken about this before, um, in, I don't know the last five years that we podcasted together.
8:53
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think very difficult.
8:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it is really difficult.
8:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I also think it depends on how long you've been with that person, right?
9:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you've been with someone for five years and they do something that gives you a slight ache, you probably are able to maybe get over it if you've been with someone for like,
9:08
[SPEAKER_03]: a month, and they give you the egg, not five.
9:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
9:12
[SPEAKER_03]: So like I agree with you.
9:14
[SPEAKER_03]: I do think that Riley being a little smothery, definitely gave Buffy the egg.
9:19
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was just like, ooh, once you get the egg, especially at the state of the relationship, which I guess they've been together for probably like six months.
9:27
[SPEAKER_03]: I would have to guess.
9:28
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, so I would say, yeah, like can you come back for me?
9:32
[SPEAKER_03]: And I would say like maybe, but it depends on
9:36
[SPEAKER_03]: like why he's being smothery and like the answer is because he's insecure about his status in the world again spuffy.
9:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Now when we get into the insecurities I would say I have like a different opinion like about that because I feel like some of it is forgivable and like of course like
10:01
[SPEAKER_03]: people could get on me about like, oh, you would like suck his dick no matter what, and the answer is probably because I think he's hot, but also like it's different.
10:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's different than jealousy in a way.
10:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the insecurities are projected on to him versus like Buffy goes out, talks to a guy, and he's like, don't talk to a guy, you know what I mean?
10:31
[SPEAKER_03]: The fact that Riley's insecurities are like, I don't think I'm good enough for you.
10:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Mace me a little sad.
10:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Mace me sad.
10:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Instead of the fact that he has no purpose ever since he left his job at the initiative.
10:42
[SPEAKER_03]: And for me, at least, and I think different strokes for different folks, and that's okay because we're all individual humans, I think like that is less of like a guilty.
10:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Guilty for the Gavo, where's my stapler?
10:56
[SPEAKER_03]: less healthy in my opinion, then a like I am an insecure man that doesn't want you talking to other girls, different spectrums, right?
11:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Different spectrums.
11:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe, maybe a little bit, but I would also, I think there's another tier though.
11:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's like insecurity that you are not good enough for the person that you are with.
11:21
[SPEAKER_03]: That again, we've talked a lot about of like you need to be comfortable with yourself, for you data, the people blah, blah, blah.
11:27
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that I would go one step further with Riley and say it is part of it is because he was very powerful and now he is less powerful.
11:38
[SPEAKER_03]: is that he brings up yet again the fact that she has dated someone who was very powerful in angel.
11:44
[SPEAKER_03]: And that to me is like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.
11:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I do not like the but would have been you ex-boyfriend because bitch, I'm not dating my ex-boyfriend.
11:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm dating you.
11:55
[SPEAKER_03]: So that should piss me off.
11:57
[SPEAKER_03]: To be fair, my bias completely erases that in my brain all a eternal sunshine at the spotless mind.
12:04
[SPEAKER_03]: That is just lifted away and put in a quarter or the room that does not exist to me no more.
12:12
[SPEAKER_03]: So that is a fair point, my friend.
12:14
[SPEAKER_03]: It really, really is.
12:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that the fact that he brings up angel knot ones, but like more than more than once, twice, three times.
12:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
12:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that that's a good point.
12:24
[SPEAKER_03]: But it's just, it's just like, oh, like, it's just irritating.
12:28
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just enough enough with the angel stuff because Buffy is not dating.
12:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Angel, Buffy is dating you and maybe you're giving her the egg because you're smothering to her tears.
12:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm starting classic.
12:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I've been in a relationship like this, okay?
12:40
[SPEAKER_03]: My very first relationship.
12:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like slowly but surely pulling away like I was, you know, not really into it as much and I was, you know, whatever, pulling away, pulling away and good God, my boyfriend at the time was like vise grip.
12:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it was so overbearing, it was overwhelming, it was way too much.
12:59
[SPEAKER_03]: It only is going to want them to be around you even less when you are smothering them.
13:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Riley does so many things that I cannot stand this episode, one of which is the smother ink, is Major Ick.
13:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Let Buffy do her job.
13:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let her do her job.
13:19
[SPEAKER_03]: And the other thing he does is a Mr. Frick and Macho man.
13:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even see a doctor.
13:24
[SPEAKER_03]: My heart is fine.
13:25
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even see a doctor.
13:27
[SPEAKER_03]: So my question, my question is, is that does that have anything to do with
13:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know.
13:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Does it have anything to do with the fact that he is in like a state because of I don't even know what was going on because they didn't explain it and Graham was like very not descriptive about what was wrong.
13:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because it reminds me of like last time he was having withdrawals or
13:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I was with draws.
13:55
[SPEAKER_03]: This is more like he has supposedly an arrhythmia in his heart, which causes it to have like some sort of an irregular rapid heartbeat, all because of the chip that was in his heart.
14:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that was causing any mental stuff beyond the fact that he already feels like he's losing his powers and
14:17
[SPEAKER_03]: is, you know, now he's hearing he sick like not good.
14:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't I think it was just I think those were his emotional reactions that news more so than like a physical withdrawal sort of a thing.
14:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay fair enough.
14:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Once again, my bias when watching was like yeah, he's only acting that way because he's he's sick, you know, he's like almost dead to give Riley like an ounce of credit.
14:42
[SPEAKER_03]: when he is approached when Buffy does the thing where she like picks up his phone and is like rightly need help and then hangs up because she knows they like tapped his phone or whatever and then he gets approached by Graham who if you don't remember because I didn't remember his freaking name was like part of the initiative right with the little flippy he has the the early odds flip.
15:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, he was usually the quiet one when far as, yes, as far as was the one that was like always gaping, always hating, Graham was like the silent observer of the process of the trio.
15:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
15:14
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's back and he is like, listen, we got a doctor, you're ready for surgery.
15:18
[SPEAKER_03]: If I am Riley, absolutely not am I. I'm trusting you.
15:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Why should I be trusting the government with my body?
15:26
[SPEAKER_03]: We saw what happened last time.
15:27
[SPEAKER_03]: So like,
15:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm giving Riley that bit of credit in that.
15:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I would not trust them either.
15:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it is, I don't think you should immediately trust them, but however, do you think you should seek out some sort of medical attention if your heartbeat is that.
15:45
[SPEAKER_03]: different and is scary for the doctors.
15:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think you should go hide in a tunnel and punch a brick wall.
15:52
[SPEAKER_03]: That doesn't seem like a smart thing to do.
15:54
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, I was very irritated about that.
15:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing annoys me more than it's like me, man.
15:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Me punch wall.
16:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Who cares?
16:02
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
16:03
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you solving?
16:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing.
16:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing.
16:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm finding that punching bag.
16:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Like this punch a punching bag.
16:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Like walls are typically hard.
16:11
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was like rock like it wasn't even like like a plaster or like a, you know, drywall.
16:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't mess with the brick, you know, Levi B. I mean, he's more likely to hurt his hand.
16:22
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a dumb move.
16:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
16:23
[SPEAKER_03]: He did hurt his hand.
16:25
[SPEAKER_03]: But many, many guys punch a wall and it must feel good for them because if they, if it didn't feel good for them, then why do all the guys punch a wall?
16:36
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he can feel it is the thing, which is a part of whatever they did, you know, the initiative did with him is that he can't feel the pain, which is why he is pushing too far beyond his limits, again, to keep up with Buffy because he is feeling insecure.
16:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think we are.
16:55
[SPEAKER_03]: leaning towards a buffy Riley break up and a Riley leaving town because we get this like like you said earlier in Graham's Disney episode like Riley has no purpose anymore in Sunnydale because the initiative is gone.
17:11
[SPEAKER_03]: So why would he stay?
17:12
[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to go back to is he from Oklahoma?
17:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Is that where you found?
17:15
[SPEAKER_03]: No, do you want to try again?
17:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Is it Indiana?
17:19
[SPEAKER_03]: No, that would be funny for us.
17:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know
17:24
[SPEAKER_03]: There, you know, where is it, Kansas?
17:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Iowa.
17:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Iowa.
17:30
[SPEAKER_03]: I see it did start with an I though.
17:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I was there.
17:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I was almost there.
17:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of.
17:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I think we're gearing up for him leaving the show.
17:37
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think?
17:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I agree.
17:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I think so, especially because we have new character, uh, Susie, and, um, you know, I think that there's a lot to explore with like, onya, there's a lot to explore at Tara.
17:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, I'm so distracted because there's a fucking Fox news fan and it's like, what are you doing here?
17:59
[SPEAKER_03]: I for a second I thought you were going to end the sentence at there as a fox and I was going to be like please show me I would like to see the fox.
18:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I am way less interested.
18:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, what are you reporting on?
18:10
[SPEAKER_03]: This is fucking there.
18:12
[SPEAKER_03]: That is a suburb like hello.
18:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, there was like fire trucks So there actually might have been some activity here today.
18:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I didn't get it.
18:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah
18:20
[SPEAKER_03]: because I'm a working girl.
18:21
[SPEAKER_03]: So shit.
18:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
18:23
[SPEAKER_03]: There might be some part for her money.
18:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, anyway, anti-drove this way, and then he drove that way, the Fox News truck.
18:31
[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.
18:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, he's lost.
18:34
[SPEAKER_03]: He's right on.
18:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe he is.
18:36
[SPEAKER_03]: They can't use Google Maps.
18:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking for the crime, and he's not finding it.
18:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Where's the crime?
18:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Where's the crime?
18:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Got a room this suburban streets of Indiana.
18:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I do agree with you.
18:50
[SPEAKER_03]: I really do.
18:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I do think that he's on his way out.
18:55
[SPEAKER_03]: When it happens, I'll have to order my black veil from, uh, from him to the final veil.
19:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
19:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
19:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and like the way we get here is by Joyce fainting, like she's, Susie is making breakfast.
19:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Joyce just goes,
19:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Who are you and then and then faints?
19:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if this was a joke of like we pretend Susie's been around this whole time, but now Joyce doesn't recognize her or if this is like a sign of something to come, but I will say that
19:29
[SPEAKER_03]: When we get introduced to Mr. Dr. Boy, Mr. Dr. Man, who is giving Susie the little stethoscope, like she's 10 years old to play with, um, I was like, oh, are we getting in a character?
19:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Is Ben on a character?
19:43
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
19:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I just thought you'd talk to her guy.
19:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Dr. Boy, I don't know.
19:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Mom's love to flirt with doctors, by the way.
19:53
[SPEAKER_03]: But oh wait, was she flirting with Dr.
19:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, anybody flirty with it?
19:59
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
20:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe somebody was.
20:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but yeah, so that's how we end up in the hospital.
20:03
[SPEAKER_03]: They begin with.
20:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Joyce ends up being completely fine.
20:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
20:07
[SPEAKER_03]: I felt like it was like a little stupid.
20:09
[SPEAKER_03]: How we ended up here.
20:10
[SPEAKER_03]: But whatever.
20:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's like I feel like we could have figured out a different way to have Riley's heart issue discovered than Susie playing with a stethoscope listening to everyone's hearts.
20:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I thought she was going to listen to her own and it was going to be like something weird like this was the this was her powers or like Buffy's was going to have a weird thing because she's a slayer and that was going to be important like I thought that's where we were going with this.
20:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but.
20:36
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, no, no.
20:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
20:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I also thought that I also thought that they were pointing, especially with like a focus on Dawn and the beginning of the episode.
20:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I felt like they were pointing at like and like the coming attractions kept like talking about.
20:58
[SPEAKER_03]: I felt they were pointing
21:05
[SPEAKER_03]: the stethoscope was going to be something, but so far it's not.
21:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I assume we're so going to get it, but not here's the other things, Sarah.
21:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Now I'm getting suspicious and I'm going to tell you right now.
21:17
[SPEAKER_03]: All you listeners out there I'm telling you right now.
21:19
[SPEAKER_03]: If it turns out Susie has no extra special powers, I will be fucking pissed.
21:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Because Susie, in this episode, is like, we get the reveal that she's like, oh yes, sometimes I lie in my diaries just in case anyone's reading them.
21:33
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like,
21:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, that's not okay, girly pop because you told me you had powers and I've been looking forward to finding out what those are.
21:42
[SPEAKER_03]: She did not say I have powers.
21:44
[SPEAKER_03]: She said, I'm not what everybody thinks I am is what she said.
21:48
[SPEAKER_03]: She, she, uh, into it and she, no, that's on it, uh, inferred that she has powers.
21:55
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh-huh.
21:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, I think that like we kind of
21:59
[SPEAKER_03]: I also thought like Tara was like we should get a like real-life psychic and for the magic shop.
22:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for the magic shop.
22:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like couldn't that be what Dawn can do?
22:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, that would be fun.
22:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but what do you think of?
22:14
[SPEAKER_03]: of Susie writing fake things in her diary, just in case people read.
22:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of love that smart.
22:20
[SPEAKER_03]: It's an ericotic and fun.
22:22
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
22:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's really a smart because you never know who's a snooper with a diary.
22:26
[SPEAKER_03]: I would.
22:26
[SPEAKER_03]: If I came across a diary, it'd be really hard for me not to snoop to be honest with you.
22:31
[SPEAKER_03]: This is the least surprising thing I've ever heard in my entire life.
22:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Did our friend of the podcast and frequent guest and library and Todd, when he visited you recently, did he go through your cabinets as we discussed?
22:44
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, I don't think so.
22:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that I think that all the point didn't you.
22:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I think he went through our cabinets as in, like I want to get a glass of water, so I'm going to get up.
22:55
[SPEAKER_03]: Tabi discussed this.
22:56
[SPEAKER_03]: You were supposed to look through Sarah's cabinets.
22:58
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't care.
22:59
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't care.
23:00
[SPEAKER_03]: And plus anyway, my friends were staying in my office.
23:05
[SPEAKER_03]: So he of course is very respectful and did not go into a room that a woman was in.
23:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Any of that any secrets that I have and also my my written thoughts are in a password protected by my finger print I don't even know my password like thing on my computer so you're not game my diary fuckers unless you have my fingerprints.
23:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know my password.
23:34
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't even steal it from my, oh, there you go.
23:36
[SPEAKER_03]: You see red mines.
23:37
[SPEAKER_03]: She wouldn't even be able to read my mind because I don't know what it is.
23:42
[SPEAKER_03]: But you cut off my finger and use that to repeat.
23:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow.
23:46
[SPEAKER_03]: If you want to.
23:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
23:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I never finished a diary in my entire life.
23:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd always start like a journal right one thing and never write it in the again.
23:55
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
23:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Not my thing.
23:56
[SPEAKER_03]: But.
23:58
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's kind of what's going on with Susie and Joyce.
24:02
[SPEAKER_03]: To bounce back to the Riley stuff because there are a couple other things that I did forget to mention that I do need to bring up.
24:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Riley played basketball in jeans.
24:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was a little psychotic.
24:13
[SPEAKER_03]: That is another, okay.
24:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's another egg.
24:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I might to be honest with you, it's like the men that go to the gym or play basketball or go running with jeans.
24:24
[SPEAKER_03]: It is like a real big egg.
24:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Not every man likes, I mean, like my ex.
24:31
[SPEAKER_03]: He did not have like basketball shorts.
24:33
[SPEAKER_03]: He did not have like soft pants.
24:34
[SPEAKER_03]: He only wore jeans.
24:36
[SPEAKER_03]: So.
24:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, jam a pants, no like anything.
24:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes, but like not really like he was either in jeans or like wearing.
24:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And now you have a man who does not wear jeans literally.
24:49
[SPEAKER_03]: He does not own one pair of jeans actually.
24:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow, look at that.
24:53
[SPEAKER_03]: The key to Sarah's heart, no jeans.
24:55
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I guess no jeans.
24:58
[SPEAKER_03]: So, but it's like it's interesting because it's so yucky when you're sweating.
25:04
[SPEAKER_03]: How are you not getting chafed?
25:08
[SPEAKER_03]: It's, well, it is very hot.
25:10
[SPEAKER_03]: It's a very thick fabric.
25:13
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not very flexible.
25:14
[SPEAKER_03]: But I will say, like, seeing Riley bow, sure, I don't have a problem with it.
25:19
[SPEAKER_03]: You were complaining about it.
25:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I think he looks great, especially, especially when we see.
25:25
[SPEAKER_03]: his competition later in the episode and spike shirtless is nasty fuck nasty nasty nasty nasty nasty I don't think he's nasty looking I just think it's funny how the writers will create ways to make Riley in like as least the least amount of clothing is possible that's what I think is funny
25:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't mind that.
25:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I have witnessed this before with other actors.
25:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, yeah, sometimes we need, we need this couple of twins.
25:55
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a great example.
25:56
[SPEAKER_03]: We need to have just objectify men sometimes because the amount of times that in shows and movies, we especially from the 90s or, literally 2000, like the amount of boobs that I saw as a 13 year old girl, like in media, like it was a lot.
26:16
[SPEAKER_03]: They watch where you're literally watching Pam Anderson run down a beach and watching her boobs flop around, you know, sometimes you have to objectify men.
26:27
[SPEAKER_03]: So like I think that there's like a time in a place for everything.
26:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Also I'd love to just say like if men would stop policing what we could do with our bodies while they have absolutely no restrictions on their bodies, then I would stop objectifying them.
26:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's a very fair compromise.
26:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
26:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
26:45
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, sure.
26:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, don't objectify anybody, stop like being a slutty slut.
26:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Stop like staring, stop pinching your husband's butts, like just stop objectifying men.
26:57
[SPEAKER_03]: I own that butt is the thing though, by marriage, by law.
27:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you do.
27:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, that's fine.
27:04
[SPEAKER_03]: So like a pretty sure it was written into the marriage contract that I owned the butt, okay?
27:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Well then, like if you owned the butt.
27:10
[SPEAKER_03]: And then the butcher pincher, it's more of a slap.
27:12
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm more of a slap or than a pincher.
27:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Just saying, but yes, yes, yes, yes.
27:17
[SPEAKER_03]: So am I fall?
27:17
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so nice looking you.
27:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
27:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I know.
27:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I know I have stopped making it look so nice.
27:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Gee, but yeah, you know, we don't condone anything consensual, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
27:27
[SPEAKER_03]: You've got all of that stuff with this stuff these days, because I don't want anybody to quote me and be like Sarah's a predator.
27:33
[SPEAKER_03]: you know, because I'm not a predator, not a predator.
27:38
[SPEAKER_03]: So yes, so Riley goes missing and they're like, okay, maybe he went back to like the initiative because that's like what he knows, what's in town, blah, blah, blah, blah.
27:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so we're going to get a buffie and spike team up because buffie needs spikes help.
27:52
[SPEAKER_03]: So she is like, listen,
27:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Money talks, I have money, you're gonna help me.
27:57
[SPEAKER_03]: He says, I want half now.
27:59
[SPEAKER_03]: She rips the money in half.
28:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I was so mad at her for the money that she wanted.
28:04
[SPEAKER_03]: That was a bit of a disrespectful, because I don't know the rules about this, but I'm pretty sure you can't tape money back together.
28:11
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think so.
28:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I've ripped a corner off before, but like I've never fallen had the entire bill ripped in half.
28:18
[SPEAKER_03]: That was irresponsible, but I feel like I don't know how much money that was.
28:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if it was like 300 bucks or something, but like we can all use $300.
28:26
[SPEAKER_03]: And yes.
28:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
28:27
[SPEAKER_03]: So I didn't like that either.
28:31
[SPEAKER_03]: And she, this is the thing.
28:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, Buffy obviously spike is going to be able to get his chip out eventually in one foreign another.
28:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Stop pissing this man off.
28:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I know that you think you can
28:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Take care of him in like one fell swoop, but like he could be like a decent ally.
28:54
[SPEAKER_03]: So like let's stop pissing him off all the time and like stopping Ruta him because at this moment he is a person that like
29:02
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, at least like you know what you're going to go with him.
29:05
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
29:06
[SPEAKER_03]: And like if you're going to come for favors like can you help me go through the tunnels of the initiative so that I can find my boyfriend maybe like not be rude because like the thing is is that like.
29:19
[SPEAKER_03]: If they weren't so rude to spike all the time, like maybe a spike with like leave them alone a little bit not only that, but they've completely forgotten that harmony has access to her house like have not really tied up that loose end.
29:45
[SPEAKER_03]: is a queen in an icon and if she ends up being the like big bad of the season, you have to get over it.
29:50
[SPEAKER_03]: She's not going to live.
29:52
[SPEAKER_03]: She, her taking up smoking and saying I am a villain spike was everything to me.
29:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Her smoking in his surgery like and then her scene in a smoking saying, I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.
30:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
30:05
[SPEAKER_03]: She's really funny.
30:06
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so irritating.
30:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, this really irritating, but also very, very, very funny.
30:11
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why it's so good
30:13
[SPEAKER_03]: because she like irritates the fuck out of him constant.
30:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, I just like, I just like don't, I don't like how I love spike as a solo character.
30:24
[SPEAKER_03]: I hate spike when he's with women.
30:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I just don't like it.
30:28
[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't.
30:29
[SPEAKER_03]: He's so he's probably going to grow.
30:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Like his probably going to be better eventually.
30:33
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think he's going to get a redemption arc.
30:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for sure.
30:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like don't throw tombstones at harmony.
30:39
[SPEAKER_03]: She has like the red rain cells, you know, like you're gonna you're gonna damage two of them She's stupid is like creature on this earth so like stop it.
30:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Can I make a noise in that like What her voice reminds me of when she does the like yay yay for spiky Oh, yeah, yes, it's from shit's creaky here.
30:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
31:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, like when those lines when she says those lines, yeah, I I can totally hear it's like very much like all she has to do is put her like two little hands in front of her and do that little like funny.
31:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, yes, it's like yeah, all she uses that and like she's basically there.
31:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I like it to I like when the surgery went well and she's like, hey,
31:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Very cute.
31:29
[SPEAKER_03]: It was cute.
31:30
[SPEAKER_03]: It was very cute.
31:31
[SPEAKER_03]: It was, it was funny.
31:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I love her giving him like information on how gross brains are and like telling, she's watching a certain thing.
31:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sick.
31:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I would probably watch the surgery too.
31:43
[SPEAKER_03]: It was so funny.
31:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I loved it.
31:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And also like again,
31:56
[SPEAKER_03]: put two and two together, that spike is going to take that information, kidnapped the doctor, and try to get him to perform brain surgery with no, no, like scans done ahead of time, no preparation at all, just some quick and dirty brain surgery.
32:13
[SPEAKER_03]: The plan was not great.
32:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not
32:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not a desperate.
32:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like the the infection, like percentage is probably really, really high with that.
32:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, when we're thinking about harmony, I just think it's so funny that like she is not even a fleeting thought in Buffy's mind, but it's very much like you are the center of your own universe, and she's like convince that Buffy is like after her, where's just like Buffy's I've been thinking about her at all.
32:42
[SPEAKER_03]: And the thing is, part of me is like a harmony, you should be taking advantage of the fact that you have access to your home if you're that like sneak up on her and Buffy, you should be thinking about the fact that harmony has access to your home.
32:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it just, I'm not saying someone has to be super intelligent to kill someone if they are sleeping in their bed.
33:01
[SPEAKER_03]: unaware of what could be going on or kill your family members, like truly how were we just letting a harmony fall off of the map?
33:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess it's because Buffy is like too busy being concerned about Riley and trying to find him and trying to talk him into getting this surgery, um, I gotta say as much as I'm really, I know you're very much a, um, a roughy fan.
33:22
[SPEAKER_03]: SNG with the tears that will not fall out of her eyes that are just pulled in there is freaking chef's kiss.
33:29
[SPEAKER_03]: She is the best almost cryer.
33:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, truly beautiful.
33:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And like a very much was like season one Angel Buffy Sappiness in those moments, which like we didn't we didn't love at that time too.
33:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Love and use the scariest thing.
33:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh,
33:45
[SPEAKER_03]: So, actually, I really did that, that like, but I'm like such a lovely, I'm like such a lovely, I should not be scary.
33:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Loving someone should not feel scary.
33:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I disagree with that in a way.
33:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, yeah, I think like how he was talking about it, it's just like,
34:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I taking the risk and putting your heart out there, knowing that like there is a high percentage that you are going to get actually like absolutely smashed.
34:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I do think that that's scary.
34:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think that like finding somebody that you love purely for the first time ever and taking that risk is scary.
34:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I really do like I don't I don't think that like
34:28
[SPEAKER_03]: The relationship should, I don't think that you should be scared in the relationship, but I think like giving yourself up and like fully trusting somebody is really scary.
34:43
[SPEAKER_03]: that's fair.
34:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think you can be scared of like losing someone right like scared of like the the in in the um the larger sense of like losing them for some reason or you know that sort of thing and you're scared of like how much you love someone is like fair enough.
35:03
[SPEAKER_03]: It was actually meant by that like I know but like you literally fight demons like
35:09
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
35:35
[SPEAKER_03]: and like taking a risk when you know that like it's so dramatic but like you're either going to it's going to end one of two ways either by heartbreak or by death like you know it's like you know it's so dramatic but like
35:52
[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably why I don't necessarily connect with it and we've talked a lot about this and like to relate it to like the types of books I like to read I really struggle with romance books and like even romance to see if they are too much on the romance side because everything always feels so fraught and like so serious and so just like intense in a way that like
36:19
[SPEAKER_03]: I personally, I think I prefer a relationship that is more comfortable that I don't feel those fraught feelings with.
36:30
[SPEAKER_03]: You can feel passion and not feel this just like, oh my god, like I'm gonna die, like I just...
36:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I would not be able to, I would not deal well with a relationship that is like that because it would be too overwhelming.
36:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I think for me, I prefer a relationship that is comfortable.
36:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I can be myself and not have to worry.
36:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, yes, I worry about existential things, like one of us getting sick and dying, but I don't worry about like, oh my god, he's going to leave me.
37:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, what if we can't be together, you know?
37:02
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
37:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I feel like that is also just like your personality.
37:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Like for me,
37:09
[SPEAKER_03]: like leaving a relationship for me that was a long part of my life.
37:15
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like going into a new relationship, it for me, it was very scary because I was like, oh my gosh, like what happens if in 16 years or whatever, I end up in the same place that I am right now.
37:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's scary.
37:36
[SPEAKER_03]: fraught for no reason, right?
37:38
[SPEAKER_03]: It is the like we just can't communicate with one another.
37:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I find Vegas annoying.
37:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I guess the three are having those problems right now because he's saying like, you
37:52
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he is projecting all of his insecurities, all of his, like, I'm not good enough for you.
37:57
[SPEAKER_03]: You're so powerful.
37:58
[SPEAKER_03]: You're too good for me.
38:00
[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, I'm not saying that.
38:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Also, I think it's infuriating.
38:05
[SPEAKER_03]: This is not like the first time she's been in a relationship with a man where
38:10
[SPEAKER_03]: He is telling her how she should feel and she's trying to be like, this is not how I feel.
38:17
[SPEAKER_03]: This is not what I'm thinking.
38:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, how can I prove to you that this is not what's going on in my brain?
38:24
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like she had the same as that conversations with Angel.
38:27
[SPEAKER_03]: How exhausting will that?
38:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, could that be?
38:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, just taking that face value for goodness sake?
38:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I'm telling you how I'm feeling.
38:35
[SPEAKER_03]: But then again, like, he's,
38:39
[SPEAKER_03]: he's like spilling his heart out and I don't know if she's giving as much back.
38:45
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I mean, and to there were a couple comments on our YouTube channel as well of like she hasn't ever said I love you.
38:51
[SPEAKER_03]: We were unsure whether she had and I guess she hasn't and of course that that breeds insecurity as well, obviously.
38:59
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think, but I think
39:04
[SPEAKER_03]: where Buffy is, or at least where I feel like she is, is she is trying to get him to stay alive at this point.
39:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think she maybe she isn't in love with him, maybe she is not at the same.
39:19
[SPEAKER_03]: point that he is with her feelings for him.
39:22
[SPEAKER_03]: That does not mean that she does not care about him and wants him to get better and healthy, right?
39:28
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why she's crying because he's not listening because he is so focused on his own insecurities that he's going to kill himself over it.
39:36
[SPEAKER_03]: And she is like, please, please, just get this freaking surgery you need to get help.
39:40
[SPEAKER_03]: This isn't okay.
39:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's
39:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I, I'm with Buffy like it is so frustrating watching it and just knowing that like this man is just standing in his own way.
39:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
39:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And like Buffy is the one who is trying to keep all the plates balanced at once and like, you know, we have spike over here stealing the doctor.
40:00
[SPEAKER_03]: her trying to even get fricking Riley to go to the doctor.
40:04
[SPEAKER_03]: He almost died.
40:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Like seriously, when they're in the fight, when the doctor says he fixed spike, what really he just took a penny out of his brain and put it in a dish, which truly cracks me up.
40:15
[SPEAKER_03]: When that all goes down and they end up in a fight with harmony and spike,
40:18
[SPEAKER_03]: and like Riley takes a freaking heart attack like he could have died truly he could have died.
40:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they had taken on one more fight before he saw a doctor.
40:26
[SPEAKER_03]: That's it for Riley.
40:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the doctor said that he should have
40:31
[SPEAKER_03]: gotten this surgery like days ago.
40:34
[SPEAKER_03]: He said to him like, if you, you know, I would be concerned when work if he came to me like yesterday, like let alone today or tomorrow.
40:45
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I mean, like I also think that
40:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that there are a lot of men out there that are very proud and stubborn irritating them the less, but he he goes he gets the surgery seemingly he's a
41:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, seemingly it was successful.
41:07
[SPEAKER_03]: I have no fucking clue what they did.
41:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if they apparently only the special initiative doctor could have done it, because if it was a standard like heart attack and all he needed was like a stinder, like some sort of bypass than any normal doctor could have done it, but like only he had done it.
41:23
[SPEAKER_03]: And let's also crazy that he never saw a doctor after he ripped a chip literally out of his heart with his bare hands.
41:29
[SPEAKER_03]: And he was never like, hey, maybe I should go get a checkup after that.
41:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, like the whole thing has stupid, like apparently like Graham, like Graham and City waited that there's something we're going on.
41:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel, but whoever it's I guess it's not I don't know, but it's it's it's fixed now.
41:47
[SPEAKER_03]: He got an arrow to the leg by harmony that was all fixed up as well.
41:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so he seems to be okay, but I do think we're kind of left wondering how much how long he's going to stick around in Sunnydale because it seems like
41:59
[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't really have a purpose here.
42:01
[SPEAKER_03]: And while we were very complimentary of him early on by saying, wow, he seems to be taking this in stride that he's no longer in charge, that he is now like almost second in commands to buffy.
42:12
[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't seem like that's actually true.
42:13
[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like he is having a problem with this, especially as he loses more and more of like, maybe the powers take a long time to kind of like drain out of his system.
42:25
[SPEAKER_03]: And so he's finally kind of just being a mortal guy.
42:29
[SPEAKER_03]: and Buffy is very busy also Sarah.
42:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it's worth mentioning.
42:35
[SPEAKER_03]: All of the training she is now doing with Giles is eating into a lot of her social time.
42:40
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that that is also a problem that could be happening.
42:44
[SPEAKER_03]: We sit her blow off, Riley, by the view times.
42:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
42:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think the thing is that this is advice for anybody.
42:55
[SPEAKER_03]: You need to have more purpose in your life than your relationship.
43:01
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that like Riley's issue is exactly what Graham said.
43:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, why are you in Sunnydale?
43:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you don't have a job right now.
43:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you don't have your families on here.
43:12
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't really have any prospects.
43:16
[SPEAKER_03]: You're here because
43:18
[SPEAKER_03]: you want to be with Buffy.
43:19
[SPEAKER_03]: She's the main reason.
43:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Secondary reason is that like you're maybe doing something to save the world.
43:24
[SPEAKER_03]: But like, you know, he's not using all of his strengths at the moment.
43:29
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just like, he needs something more than Van Davis.
43:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's a purpose.
43:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't know if the initiative is like exactly what he needs, but he needs like something more than what he's currently getting.
43:42
[SPEAKER_03]: This feels, as much as I've complained about Riley as a character and all this other stuff, it does feel in line with a person who has been in some sort of a thing like the military, where it's very structured, has a routine, or at least has like this very clear purpose.
43:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And then once that falls away, it's like, what do I do now?
44:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I am so used to having this structure around me, all this huge support system, and now that is gone.
44:08
[SPEAKER_03]: So that is really interesting and I think is very much in line with the type of character that Riley is and and how he might feel when Buffy is very busy and you know she wants to do her own thing sometimes I think she is I am this layer I am independent she doesn't need Riley clogging up her space sometimes.
44:31
[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, and now she has the sick new training room in the back of the magic shop, which is called the magic box, which I don't know that we've ever mentioned, but like does give me Felicity.
44:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh god, magic box, yeah, I mean, I think it was really cute.
44:49
[SPEAKER_03]: That Zander is like now like this carpenter and he like, I love this specifically for Buffy.
44:56
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that was really cute.
44:58
[SPEAKER_03]: The room is a little dank, but that's, I, it's fine.
45:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure it's going to be a really nice training room for her.
45:04
[SPEAKER_03]: I like something a little bit more open in Erie.
45:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Like when she was practicing, I don't even know where she was, but in the
45:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I felt very like open and airy and bright, and I think like that's my preference for yeah, but I'm sure she had like, like, monk training where it's like outside so you're like connecting with nature.
45:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's the same time, you know, I mean, but I mean, whatever works, right, like at least she has a space.
45:33
[SPEAKER_03]: She's very happy about it.
45:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because every all of them worked very hard on it, right?
45:38
[SPEAKER_03]: It seemed like it was a team effort, and I did enjoy that.
45:43
[SPEAKER_03]: And again, I agree with you.
45:45
[SPEAKER_03]: I think having Zander go from being in the construction business to doing some sort of carpentry makes a lot of sense.
45:51
[SPEAKER_03]: He's putting some skills to use.
45:53
[SPEAKER_03]: And there is something.
45:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Very satisfying about working with your hands and having like being done and being able to look at that thing and be like I built that I create I created that out of nothing.
46:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I build new.
46:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, remember I bold you No, what is that for we build we build you amaya papaya said that to TJ.
46:15
[SPEAKER_03]: We build you Yeah, yeah, so
46:21
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
46:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's get into the stuff that is going to make us fight.
46:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so yeah, we towards the end of the episode, um, we have Buffy running into confront spike, uh, and spike is like shirtless.
46:37
[SPEAKER_03]: There's like there's some intense energy.
46:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, which like,
46:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Spice shirtless is a nothing burger.
46:44
[SPEAKER_03]: He is not high like I wonder if the bad looking I wonder if anybody thought that that man was attracted most assured Listen, it's very little like he need to email girlies out there are like yes, please bleach bond hair It's very much like Tim Shalame and like
47:06
[SPEAKER_03]: like Tom Holland.
47:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you find those boys attractive, then you probably find like spike attractive.
47:13
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think Tom Holland and Tim Shalamay should be in the same category.
47:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Tim and the Shalamay is like a very slender petite man.
47:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, spike looked very slender petite Holland is literally spider-man.
47:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Like literally he's by the end.
47:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Have you seen, I mean, you have to have seen that when he did the like the lip sync to umbrella.
47:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
47:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
47:33
[SPEAKER_03]: It's very hot.
47:34
[SPEAKER_03]: He's very good.
47:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know.
47:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
47:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying that like two skinny and two slender for me for spike.
47:42
[SPEAKER_03]: He's not like a man.
47:44
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
47:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you prefer you prefer a lumberjack.
47:49
[SPEAKER_03]: We've had these discussions.
47:50
[SPEAKER_03]: You prefer a lumberjack.
47:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
47:52
[SPEAKER_03]: So I like spiky.
47:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
47:54
[SPEAKER_03]: He has like muscle definition, but he's like two thin for me and like two slight and I don't like it.
48:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so they are like, it's very contentious, shits going on, suddenly out of nowhere, spike, grabs, buffy, and kisses her.
48:14
[SPEAKER_03]: And let me tell you, because I was like, we're gonna be analyzing this kiss on the podcast, like I need to do my due diligence.
48:19
[SPEAKER_03]: I rewound this like three times, because I was like,
48:23
[SPEAKER_03]: What has happened?
48:24
[SPEAKER_03]: What is happening?
48:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, how do we get here that I was so sudden for me?
48:29
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like so out of nowhere.
48:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't believe it.
48:32
[SPEAKER_03]: So I rebounded a few times.
48:33
[SPEAKER_03]: And then, and then, they kissed a second time and they cheered by Buffy.
48:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, she pulls back and I don't like is upset about it.
48:44
[SPEAKER_03]: But then she pulls him in and kisses him.
48:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
48:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, look at her.
48:50
[SPEAKER_03]: She is.
48:51
[SPEAKER_03]: You.
48:51
[SPEAKER_03]: You.
48:52
[SPEAKER_03]: You.
48:54
[SPEAKER_03]: You.
48:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I. I. And then.
48:55
[SPEAKER_03]: And so then hold on before we do this.
48:57
[SPEAKER_03]: So then he says he loves her.
48:59
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, what is going on?
49:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm thinking now.
49:02
[SPEAKER_03]: I am thinking.
49:04
[SPEAKER_03]: out at this point.
49:05
[SPEAKER_03]: And then, and then, it's a dream.
49:06
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, they got me, they got me.
49:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I was too excited to be skeptical.
49:10
[SPEAKER_03]: They got me.
49:11
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, I don't really think that like, I was like much of a believer, but I do find it very interesting out of all the stuff.
49:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's the most interesting thing where like, I really do think that spike is developing feelings for Buffy.
49:23
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that scares her.
49:26
[SPEAKER_03]: That scares him.
49:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Which I find very, very, very interesting.
49:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, the fine line between love and hate Sarah, as they say.
49:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
49:33
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
49:34
[SPEAKER_03]: So like, let's like back up a little because like, I got nasty.
49:38
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is it.
49:39
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you're watching us on YouTube, I have brought up some screenshots.
49:42
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is the very first moment of the kiss.
49:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Now at this point in the kiss, I was like, OK, I'm seeing the chemistry.
49:48
[SPEAKER_03]: There's the arm, arms, hands gripping the arms, which again, if it's non-consensual, it's not OK, but if it's consensual, love it.
49:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, we have her hands touching his like four arms.
50:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, at this point I was on board.
50:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Again, he shirtless.
50:03
[SPEAKER_03]: She's wearing like a tank top.
50:04
[SPEAKER_03]: I wish there's a way to annotate on this shit, but whatever.
50:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we can.
50:10
[SPEAKER_03]: So then we get some close ups of the kiss.
50:12
[SPEAKER_03]: And at this point, I was like, the kiss chemistry is not there.
50:15
[SPEAKER_03]: It is a very bad girl.
50:16
[SPEAKER_03]: It's once again, Buffy.
50:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Like,
50:24
[SPEAKER_03]: It very much feels like a lot of like chicken pecking and like closed mouth kissing.
50:29
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just strange.
50:30
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
50:30
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so awkward and just like not hot and like she doesn't have this problem with Riley.
50:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think but she had it with Angel.
50:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't really think she has that much chemistry with Riley.
50:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, well, then it's purely a siren Michelle Gellar thing, which is what I've been saying for a really freaking long time, which is very sad and depressing for her.
50:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what it like it's it's it's just it's just she's in pain, she it's the it's the eyebrows are like knitted together a little bit like it's not good it's looking so bad looking quite bad this is awful.
51:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's pretty bad.
51:06
[SPEAKER_03]: It's pretty bad overall.
51:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I will say I did love the look on Spike's face after where he like can't believe what he did.
51:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's in shock.
51:17
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I love him.
51:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
51:21
[SPEAKER_03]: The kiss that she initiated was like a little bit better.
51:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have screenshots of that or no?
51:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have screenshots of that one.
51:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just like, I don't know.
51:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I just I'm hoping that when it obviously inevitably actually happens that there's better chemistry because that was not a case.
51:42
[SPEAKER_03]: It was not a case.
51:43
[SPEAKER_03]: I just like, I'm so fatigued by like just
51:52
[SPEAKER_03]: the like what if it's just like so it feels so Manufactured by the fandom and like I don't know like I can just envision all your mother fuckers like writing on the board is being like It's going it's going to be so hot and like doing your fan fiction and like the
52:12
[SPEAKER_03]: like typing up your like sexy little stories.
52:15
[SPEAKER_03]: It screams like, like, Draminy, fanfic.
52:19
[SPEAKER_03]: That's exactly what it feels like.
52:20
[SPEAKER_03]: And it feels like because of how tapped in, I feel like the entire fandom was with each other, including like, I mean, I would assume the writers as well.
52:32
[SPEAKER_03]: It just seems so like,
52:37
[SPEAKER_03]: fan service and like it doesn't feel totally organic because I just like I just know that you you fuckers were drooling over this shit and then noise me.
52:49
[SPEAKER_03]: It just feels very much like remember when curse child came out and everybody was like this is literally a Harry Potter fan fiction.
52:58
[SPEAKER_03]: It just feels like that.
53:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I can understand feeling like that.
53:02
[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely can understand
53:06
[SPEAKER_03]: It the reason this happened is because there were there were fans crying out for it because the fans wanted it.
53:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I totally understand that, but I would also like give them me because I'm an asshole.
53:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm like, I don't like it.
53:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't like because you want to be a contrary and like no, I don't want to be a contrarian.
53:25
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like, I don't know.
53:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it just feels like I don't think I'm a contrarian.
53:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's, I do think it's sometimes fun to be like this is whatever everyone else likes.
53:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't like it.
53:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll find it fun.
53:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I just like, I'm like
53:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
53:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I just don't see it.
53:43
[SPEAKER_03]: I do think you have very fair and valid points of spike being a terrible boyfriend.
53:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like we have a lot of proof of that.
53:52
[SPEAKER_03]: All of that is so, so, so true.
53:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I think even if we set aside the like fans crying out for this, which I gosh, you have to assume they were, um, I think
54:04
[SPEAKER_03]: most shows with like uh enemies right where we have two big enemies and they have the ability to be attracted to one another are going to end up together at some point.
54:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it is kind of like right because there is such a fine line between love and hate that it can be misconstrued as something else, right?
54:23
[SPEAKER_03]: We're tension could then change to sexual tension very quickly.
54:28
[SPEAKER_03]: So I totally understand why people would be crying out for it, why people would want it.
54:35
[SPEAKER_03]: So, I don't know, I just think I think it's fun because one of the main reasons I am like, pro this is, again, I want to see the chemistry.
54:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I do like an enemy silver story and on top of that.
54:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I would love to have spike having something to do.
54:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that like when I love him as a character, I just want him to have something to do.
54:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And so like having him more included in the Scoobies again,
55:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
55:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Perfect.
55:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
55:05
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's fun because I think he's going to be so against the fact that he is dreaming in this way.
55:11
[SPEAKER_03]: He is going to be so like what is wrong with me like I hate this.
55:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
55:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I don't know.
55:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not I think I was more into it when spike was like.
55:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh like I don't I I love to kill I can't kill humans but I can kill like like I can kill other vampires I can kill other demons like I'm going to be like a good guy but for like the wrong reasons and I think like I like that way of spike getting into the scoobies more so than
55:46
[SPEAKER_03]: through a love interest, I feel like that's more unique and more interesting to me personally, being like backdoring himself to becoming a good guy because initiated that it's this only way to get his fix of killing is to, you know, kill bad guys and like that satisfies that itch.
56:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's unique, I think that's a story that I haven't really seen before, but it's fun too.
56:15
[SPEAKER_03]: come into the fray not saying that this is going to happen like at this moment or this is whatever but seem him come into the fray because he wants to spend more time with buffy because he has an infatuation with her seems less interesting to me but also seeing like the best spike moments are when he's like kind of down and out the best spike moments are when he's like an underdog
56:40
[SPEAKER_03]: like having like an unrequited crush could also satisfy that.
56:47
[SPEAKER_03]: like, but yeah.
56:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
56:50
[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, I'm interested in seeing where it goes.
56:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think it could be really fun if Harmony gets like jealous or upset.
56:57
[SPEAKER_03]: And then again, she becomes our big bad and that would be her way.
57:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I do have one other question before we jump into courties corner where you add all, okay, so two were you tricked?
57:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Were you tricked with the brain surgery?
57:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you think that Dr.
57:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, but I'm really relieved that that wasn't the case because I like the fact that he's for a better word neutered.
57:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like the fact that is because I once again like my hopes is that he like,
57:33
[SPEAKER_03]: like back doors himself and to be becoming a good guy.
57:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think like that's really an interesting story.
57:40
[SPEAKER_03]: So like I think I was tricked, but I'm relieved that that wasn't the case.
57:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And the penny thing was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty smart.
57:50
[SPEAKER_03]: I felt like at the very least like maybe like the entire chip wasn't taken out, but like the guy just like did nothing.
57:56
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know what he was doing in there for so long.
57:58
[SPEAKER_03]: ruin around in his brain, but no blood, no shaving of spikes head, just like, absolutely nothing.
58:05
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I, with you, where I was like, I wasn't really tricked because while it was happening, I was like, this is so implausible.
58:12
[SPEAKER_03]: This is ridiculous.
58:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, guys going into a brain surgery, he's not prepared for hasn't even looked at a freaking scan of this guy's brain, like, he didn't put the chip in.
58:19
[SPEAKER_03]: So how is he supposed to know how to take the chip out?
58:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I assume he wasn't the one who put it in.
58:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but yeah, it was, uh, and then the second thing was were you at all tricked that the spike buffet kiss was a dream or were you like, were you like, I was like, whatever.
58:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I was too like disgusted.
58:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like, let's very annoyed to actually take it seriously or not seriously.
58:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I was just like, this is a bunch of bullshit.
58:42
[SPEAKER_03]: And then like, yeah, when it was a dream, I was like,
58:46
[SPEAKER_03]: more interested in my brain about being like, oh, he actually has feelings for her probably.
58:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're in a fascination or an obsession.
58:56
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the ways where you're all the above.
58:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
59:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, cool.
59:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I, uh, yeah, I was too excited to, uh, to think twice, I think.
59:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so, all right, let's, let's do some courties corner, uh, we cover, we watched season two episode four untouched.
59:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you watch the episode or am I giving you the highlights?
59:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I have no clue what happened.
59:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Beautiful.
59:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I hope so.
59:18
[SPEAKER_03]: So this episode is called untouched.
59:20
[SPEAKER_03]: We have a new girl and her name is Bethany and Bill has telekinesis.
59:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, she stole my story line about Dawn that really is annoying.
59:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, it's really, it's really annoying.
59:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so she, like, accidentally, there are some men after her.
59:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Cordelia has a vision about it.
59:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Angel goes to save her.
59:41
[SPEAKER_03]: When he gets there, there's blood at the scene.
59:42
[SPEAKER_03]: He thinks that she got killed.
59:44
[SPEAKER_03]: But no, she dropped a freaking dumpster on these dudes and escaped.
59:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, gosh.
59:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, very much Magneto, but she is she can't control her powers.
59:51
[SPEAKER_03]: They basically come out when she is feeling like a very heightened emotion, which is very common and she is living with blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
1:00:05
[SPEAKER_03]: One of the ladies who works at Will From and Heart, Lila.
1:00:09
[SPEAKER_03]: She is like roommates with her or something and Lila tries to pretend like, oh, I got you clearly poppin' besties, but I bet, bet, bet, not besties.
1:00:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Bethany keeps having dreams about, like, abuse she suffered from her father and her childhood.
1:00:22
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like super clear what's going on there, but it definitely seems bad.
1:00:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Angel ends up finding Bethany to like offer her help and everything.
1:00:31
[SPEAKER_03]: She accidentally stabs him with a piece of rebar, which he then pulls out and is like, You can't hurt me.
1:00:36
[SPEAKER_03]: It's all good.
1:00:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, meanwhile Angel is still having a case of the sleepy time troubles.
1:00:44
[SPEAKER_03]: He is sleeping.
1:00:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
1:00:46
[SPEAKER_03]: The time, which is not consensual.
1:00:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Not girls at all is raping him and the dreams bad darla bad.
1:00:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so what she's doing is like she by being near him, she is able to like infect him with this powder that keeps him asleep while she manipulates his dreams.
1:01:06
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why he's been sleeping so much is because she's while he's asleep, she keeps him asleep for longer.
1:01:12
[SPEAKER_03]: And now Cordelia and Wesley are like noticing this.
1:01:16
[SPEAKER_03]: They're like,
1:01:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this is strange, like, why is he sleeping so much?
1:01:20
[SPEAKER_03]: This is just, you just need a little bit of bedtime to be honest with you.
1:01:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they probably just think he's depressed.
1:01:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, also Cordelia is at her best because Cordelia makes a great point of like, hey, should we be paying gun?
1:01:34
[SPEAKER_03]: and for like helping out, right?
1:01:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, because should he be like a contractor where we pay him like per project?
1:01:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, put him, put him, put that man on payroll.
1:01:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:01:44
[SPEAKER_03]: And Wesley is like, oh, but she will be insulted if we offer him money.
1:01:48
[SPEAKER_03]: And Cordelia is like, what are you fucking talking about?
1:01:51
[SPEAKER_03]: You dumb ass, like this man needs help.
1:01:53
[SPEAKER_03]: He literally brought in a homemade axe.
1:01:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe we should give him money.
1:01:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And he just like, I'll deal with it.
1:02:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, broody.
1:02:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll deal with it.
1:02:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll talk to him, man.
1:02:03
[SPEAKER_03]: He acts so weird when offering gun money and gun is easily like, yep, sounds great, perfect, love it.
1:02:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
1:02:10
[SPEAKER_03]: So they're investigating all this stuff.
1:02:12
[SPEAKER_03]: They have to go find Bethany because Angel, the dumb fuck that he is when he met up with Bethany, did not learn her name, did not learn her address, did not learn anything about her.
1:02:20
[SPEAKER_03]: So he didn't know where the fuck to find this bitch.
1:02:22
[SPEAKER_03]: So Bethany, while she's sleeping and having really awful nightmares about her father and what he did to her as a child, she injures Lila with the lamp,
1:02:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Chuck's at the girl's face.
1:02:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, like it's in trouble at work from Bernard, who's like bitch control her control that girl, whatever.
1:02:40
[SPEAKER_03]: She runs all day and all night to get to Angel, who's like, I will rescue you Dems and then distress as he usually is.
1:02:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Cordelia is like something's off about this bitch.
1:02:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what's going on.
1:02:53
[SPEAKER_03]: She seems really strange.
1:02:54
[SPEAKER_03]: It looks like she wants to like fucking Angel.
1:02:56
[SPEAKER_03]: What is happening?
1:02:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Cordelia is not about this.
1:02:58
[SPEAKER_03]: She says no, no, no, no, no, no.
1:03:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, Wesley decides that through a few comments Bethany made and like the weird energy coming from her that it seems like she probably was abused by her father, so he brings up her father, Bethany fucking explode, knocks Wesley into a fucking wall, shoots angel into sunlight where he almost burns.
1:03:23
[SPEAKER_03]: So Wesley has to leave, then they decide in their infinite wisdom what we have this like 100 room hotel, let's just have Bethany stay with us, let's have Bethany stay here.
1:03:36
[SPEAKER_03]: There is some weird dream shenanigans happening where like Angel and Bethany talk and she like offers to have sex with him again, heavily
1:03:46
[SPEAKER_03]: inferring and applying that she was sexually abused as a child because she says she like she's willing to offer it but like doesn't like it like she'll just like basically dissociate when it's happening all this other stuff um really bad really sad stuff but there's also some confusing stuff as to whether or not
1:04:03
[SPEAKER_03]: If she's dreaming or if he's dreaming during some of these like things um because she he calls her Darla at one point like it's very cordelia then takes her out for coffee for like a mocha and she's like bitch don't fuck Angel he's super old he's very old fashioned I mean very old fashioned okay what a girl's girl
1:04:25
[SPEAKER_03]: She gets kidnapped, but they do, well from in heart, sends her father to come get her back.
1:04:32
[SPEAKER_03]: She almost kills her father.
1:04:33
[SPEAKER_03]: She like dangles him out of a window, and it's like, bitch, leave me alone.
1:04:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Probably deserved.
1:04:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Truly deserved.
1:04:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, yes, truly deserved.
1:04:41
[SPEAKER_03]: And then Bethany moves out of Lila's apartment with Angel there to help her.
1:04:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And
1:04:48
[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, she's like, my friends don't usually send people to try to rate and kidnap me.
1:04:52
[SPEAKER_03]: So goodbye.
1:04:53
[SPEAKER_03]: And now I think she's going to join the team.
1:04:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they have like a sort of room.
1:04:57
[SPEAKER_03]: So because it ends with like her seemingly joining the crew.
1:05:02
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if she's going to be around long term, but maybe if she is, we got a redhead in the group.
1:05:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, people.
1:05:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Bethany is here.
1:05:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to ask you if she was hot.
1:05:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Is my only question.
1:05:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I will let you decide by showing you a picture.
1:05:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I would say cute, not hot.
1:05:19
[SPEAKER_03]: That is just, uh, my, my thought.
1:05:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, she's younger than I anticipated.
1:05:25
[SPEAKER_03]: She's very young.
1:05:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Very young.
1:05:26
[SPEAKER_03]: And she's wearing like a grandma night gown when she shows up.
1:05:29
[SPEAKER_03]: She looks very like a ghostly Victorian child.
1:05:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Not a bad description.
1:05:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
1:05:37
[SPEAKER_03]: She looks very gond as well.
1:05:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I do not like Bethany.
1:05:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Bethany could be here to say, who's to say, she's not an annoying voice.
1:05:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, it's pretty normal.
1:05:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I'd say.
1:05:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is weird though when she like, she's like, I couldn't say if I didn't want to sleep and I came in to see you Angel and and then she starts talking about his like nighttime boner because he's like, oh, sorry.
1:06:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I was having a bad dream and she's like, it looks like a good dream.
1:06:04
[SPEAKER_03]: because he had a tent in his blanket.
1:06:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I don't know if we're setting up a romance.
1:06:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if they were trying to establish like cordy being like stay away from my man.
1:06:14
[SPEAKER_03]: That's not the vibe I got.
1:06:17
[SPEAKER_03]: But we did see it.
1:06:18
[SPEAKER_03]: And Wesley and Corey fought more.
1:06:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Much unspricing, blah, blah, blah, blah.
1:06:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Did we have, have we seen Kate this season yet?
1:06:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't she die?
1:06:27
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
1:06:30
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I just swatted her, too.
1:06:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think we have, we see.
1:06:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like we have seen her.
1:06:36
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't remember.
1:06:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
1:06:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Cates.
1:06:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Cates.
1:06:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Cates.
1:06:43
[SPEAKER_03]: She's nothing burger and my brain, so, okay, but yeah, that's basically what happened on Angel.
1:06:49
[SPEAKER_03]: It was, it was a fine, it was so fine episode, it was whatever, you know, it was, it's, you know, it's Angel.
1:06:57
[SPEAKER_03]: It was a fine episode.
1:06:58
[SPEAKER_03]: I've heard that I should watch the next episode episode five of Angel is what I've been told.
1:07:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, well that's up to you.
1:07:06
[SPEAKER_03]: So one that I really need to watch anything is nine, but nine is the next one recommended in terms of crossover.
1:07:13
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that I think that I might be tapping into five.
1:07:18
[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds our friend Tom, the one who said to five, you should watch.
1:07:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
1:07:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:07:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
1:07:24
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, if you want to watch that, totally up to you.
1:07:27
[SPEAKER_03]: But next episode of Buffy season five episode five, no place like home.
1:07:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, some Wizard of Oz shit.
1:07:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Wizard of Oz.
1:07:35
[SPEAKER_03]: That's that's fun.
1:07:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Riley's leaving.
1:07:39
[SPEAKER_03]: He does not live in Kansas, he lives in Iowa.
1:07:42
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's practically Kansas, he's going home.
1:07:44
[SPEAKER_03]: You're so bad, you're so bad.
1:07:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And we're gonna have friend of the podcast and someone who we mentioned earlier taught the librarian on to chat.
1:07:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
1:08:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, not like the, not like the, not the animal.
1:08:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm more likely to watch it if it's EAR than the animal, because I really don't want to see something about a dear boy.
1:08:15
[SPEAKER_03]: like half your half boy.
1:08:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't want to watch that.
1:08:19
[SPEAKER_03]: That I would tap.
1:08:19
[SPEAKER_03]: There's that show.
1:08:20
[SPEAKER_03]: What was that show?
1:08:21
[SPEAKER_03]: A sweet tooth or whatever.
1:08:23
[SPEAKER_03]: That's like pretty much what you're talking about.
1:08:25
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, but I won't watch that hilarious.
1:08:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Incredible.
1:08:30
[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, he is half human half deer.
1:08:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
1:08:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I was worried about that.
1:08:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
1:08:36
[SPEAKER_03]: So that will be next week.
1:08:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Anything else, Sarah?
1:08:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Anything else you wanted to bring out?
1:08:44
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, no, no.
1:08:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, don't.
1:08:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that will be it for us.
1:08:48
[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll return next week with some buffy and the smidge of courty's corner to talk about until then everyone here and if the less.
