Torrential flooding in South Texas and the Hill Country has claimed a third life this week, as a driver was swept away in Val Verde County. Governor Abbott, who flew over the devastation, confirmed two prior fatalities — a 74-year-old in Uvalde and a 65-year-old grandfather in Kerrville — amid rising waters. Cotulla saw record flooding, with the Nueces River cresting over 29 feet, damaging 48 homes and six severely.
