excited to be in the midst of some amazing authors, some amazing business owners,

speakers, and I'm just glad to be in the midst of that amazing

Anyway, I am Glendoria Phillips Boyd. I am a current resident of Fort

Worth, Texas. I've been living here for approximately about forty years now,

and I'm an author. I'm a motivational speaker. I'm I'm minister of God's

Word, and that's the I think that is. Being a minister of God's

Word is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I

love the Lord so and he has brought me from a mighty long way.

So I'm just glad to be here. I'm excited about what's coming up this

am a resident in the DFW area. I've been I've lived between here and

New York. My chosen profession is that human resources the men. So I

love that profession because it gives me the opportunity to reach out and help people.

And then as far as like my writing, it creates a lot of

ideas. Let's say that, because when you're dealing with people you need,

creativity just kind of flows in. I'm a two time best selling author of

poetry book Phoenix Hart and Reflections Rising, and I'm currently working on the new

work and I'm celebrating for fifty three years today. So I'm blessing. I'm

happy, and I'm overjoyed to be here. Oh, thank you, happy

birthday, Yes, thank you, happy Wow. I'll tell you when I

first met you, I think you were in the midst of your second book,

and now you're in the midst of your third book. I tell you

you just keep on you just keep on pushing them out. I tell you

that's amazing. I'm gonna try and make with you just a second. I

I know another Georgia. She is a to health professional now and Nash

she's a black mental health profession now out of Atlanta. Yes, amazing.

She's right here on social so she's probably tuning in because she's also an author

as well. But to chime in a little bit about yourself and and and

the thing shared in your introduction. You are a minister, you are an

author. So being a minister and how how do those two things coincide with

this journey that you're on? Okay, I missed a little bit of your

question. You said, being a minister and an author, how does those

those those two things coincide? Was that the question with the journey? Okay?

I just wanted to make sure a person the journey, Yes, ma'am,

that's the question. Okay, Okay, Well they coincide very well because

I love writing, okay. And from the day I wrote my very first
9:24
book, which is From Black and Blue to Christ. I don't know if

you can see that, I talk about my experience with the Lord and how
9:35
I came to know him and how he spoke to me directly. And so

when you're when you're a minister of God's Word, I mean at this at
9:48
this time, when I wrote this book, I was not a minister of
9:52
God's Word, but I knew who the Lord was, and I knew what
9:54
He had done for me. So as I grew thru and the Word,

and as I started writing more and more of what who God is was really
10:07
filling my spirit and and and feeding that inner man that we see. We
10:13
all need that connection with God. We may not know that we need it,
10:16
but we do. And that's what helps us to grow and be all
10:20
that we can be. So it actually comes out great because I can write

and teach and minister all at the same time. I can take one sermon
10:33
or sermonette as I call them, uh, because I go down to Union
10:37
Gospel Mission every Tuesday and I preach and teach to the people there that comes
10:43
in to have lunch or breakfast or whatever they they're gonna eat that day.

They have to come to mission. They have to come to church before they
10:52
can actually you know, go in to eat. It's part of the curriculum
10:56
there. And so I'm one of the chaplains that goes down there and bring

them a word. And so when I do that, the word that I
11:03
teach them, I have to first you know, develop it and write it
11:07
and study it and then go down and teach it to them. At the
11:09
same time, I have writing Writings of Wisdom dot com is my website,

so I can take that same lesson and put it on my website so it

can minister to all the people. You know, when I get speaking engagements,

I don't have to rush and do anything. I can go back into
11:28
what I've already created or what the Lord has allowed me to say and do
11:33
and just say, well, Lord, which one do you want me to
11:35
talk about today? And so that's how I mean, it works out great
11:39
for me. So I just believe that this is the calling that the Lord
11:45
has has, you know, has orchestrated for me to do. And I
11:48
am so fulfilled in this profession. You know, it just makes me happy.

I can't stop smiling when I start talking about it. I get excited
11:58
because I know that I'm walk in the path that the Lord wants me to

walk today, and that's me And just listening to you, I'm just lighting
12:11
up over here, just getting joy in the inside because just like a lot
12:16
of what you said just resonated to me. I don't walk in an office
12:22
in the ministry, but I am a child of God because God has been
12:26
amazing to me. God has been so good to me. He's been better
12:30
to me than I could ever be to myself. And when he rolls me
12:33
up off my bed of affliction, I said, I wanted to share its
12:37
goodness. And I knew that I didn't want to stand in the poor pit,
12:39
but I knew that I wanted to share with people what he had done
12:43
for me. And I knew that there were gonna be people like me that
12:46
were not always in the church. You know, I grew up in the
12:48
church, and I've always even when my mama didn't go to church, my
12:52
simblis didn't go to church, my mom always sent me to church because she
12:56
must. She knew something that I didn't know. She God was prepared her
13:00
for those days that she was not gonna be here. Because after my sixteenth
13:03
birthday, twelve days after my sixteenth birthday, my mom passed. And all
13:07
those things that she had instilled in me, all those things that sit me
13:11
on the church bus when nobody else was on the church bus, singing on
13:13
the choir, all that stuff just began to play a part in my life.

As I begin to grow up, I started to realize a lot of
13:20
those conversations that me and my mom had was to prepare me for those days
13:24
when she was not gonna be here, and I never under understood that.
13:28
And for God to give me, you know, like you like you say,

you go and you put this stuff on your way so that you can
13:37
go back and you can pull it from it whenever you may have a speaking
13:41
engage on her something coming up. Well, God gave me the outlet of
13:45
man. I looked at Amazon the other day. I was uploading my latest
13:48
book and I looked at Amazon the other day and another platform that I use.

I said, well, Lord, I said I wanted to have a
13:54
hundred books by by twenty twenty five. And it looked like I'm on have

them before twenty twenty five. And that's the outlet that He's given me to

be able to minish and to be able to to other people, like we're
14:11
working on the book right now, and he may just I'm talking about he
14:13
dropped things in my spirit and it just just and now I just have to
14:16
move on it. And he may say do it now, and I can't
14:20
wait, Like I got a book now, and he's saying, get five
14:22
more people, get five more men, get five men to pour into this
14:26
this this book, this book dropped on June first, it's ready. I
14:31
just needed some five men to put their interest in and he gonna it's it's
14:35
already ready. Because whenever he give me something, it just moves so so
14:39
smooth, so quickly so and it don't be no hiccups, no nothing.

That's how I know he be in the miss. But when I'm in the
14:46
midst of something, and when I it don't all right. That's why I
14:52
always move out the way. I have back on up out the way.

There's a lot of here. If that goes to do God, you're a

blessing on I tell you this amazing to my right, Yeah, it was

it. I want to apologize, lady. And we know whenever something good

is going on, the enemy always be busy. It never fails. It

happens every time. Now, if we wish to come on here and be

about some mess, it wouldn't be no delays, no delays, do nothing,

because I don't been like with no delays. But see when you buy

his business and you you're really putting him on the forefront, it always be

some miss. It always be something in the mess. But we buying that

spirit in the name of Jesus. And you don't have no place birthday lady.

I know that you said, because I've interviewed you a couple of times.

Like I feel like I know this lady. I can't wait to meet

her on this weekend and and and and that's what I love about these events.

I love that we and come together and come to each other and really,

you know, put put that energy, you know, share that energy,

spread that positive energy. You know. I feel like when we come

together and spread that energy, we help to elevate each other and to keep

each other on this journey. And that's why I do what I do.

In order for us to see change, we have to be that change.

And I thank God for y'all sharing our books and coming on these platforms and

allowing your voices to be heard and using your gifts, because you definitely have

a gift. It's not each It's not easy at our to write poems because

I I dabble. And when I tell you it's not hard, it's not

easy. When I tell you it be long hard, Yeah, you be

having to go back and go back and go back. So I know what

it is. And for you to share your gift and your talent your second

book, I think I had an opportunity to talk about your first book,

but we never had a really opportunity to dive deep into the second book,

Reflection, right, and that's the name of it's it's so that's that's the

name of the second book, Reflections Rising. Yes. And while y'all were

talking about what God has done for you, do you know before I wrote

my book, I brought a bracelet. I wear this bracelet every day and

he says, I know the plans I have for you. Never take I
17:56
never take it off. And during the before I even start it manifested,

even before I started writing my books. And so it's always on me because

he knew the plans he had for me before I did. Because you know
18:11
that when I started my journey on poetry, that's my strup. I've shared

this over and over and over. I was going through rest of my horse,

right, I keep it on my body. I do not take it
18:22
off. And so you know, when I was going through my divorce and
18:26
since twenty twelve, yes, no, no, I got no. I
18:32
actually got this in twenty twenty one. And when I turned fifty, I
18:37
put that on there because I was like, this is you know, I
18:40
made fifty, so he has some plans for me. I don't know.

And besides, that's one of my favorite Bible verses. Besides one, I
18:48
look to the hills from where it's come to my health because my help comes
18:52
from him. So that but I keep this telling me and who would have
18:56
known? Who would have who would have gone? We do Sometimes I don't

I feel I feel awake, Baily, I don't. I don't be always
19:10
hitting the light. But I get the notifications. But I can't sit up
19:15
here and say I'm in church every Sunday because I'm not. But I know,

I know God, and I know he directs me, and I know
19:22
he leaves me, and I know that if it wasn't for him, I
19:26
wouldn't be here. Because you know, when I talked to you a couple
19:29
of months ago, I was hit by a car right and this was in
19:32
the middle of I was walking. It was me as a person that was
19:36
hit with a car. And she called me. I got hit that Tuesday,
19:40
had been through trauma and she and she she actually asked me to go
19:44
on a podcast for Miss Gimbal, Miss Patrice. No one knew what I
19:48
was going through with him, but he sustained me. I'm here and I
19:52
was in the middle of right my second book, and I just thank God
19:57
that I was able to finish that. I actually added more into that book

before it came out because of what I had experienced. What we're talking about
20:06
Reflections Rising, So it was just a perfect segue into that. So Reflections

Rising, that book, it actually delves into reflecting on your life because when
20:23
you get to a point in your life where you have to self reflect to
20:29
grow, because if you don't self reflect, you're not growing. Because you
20:32
should never remain stagnant. Because if you were remain as stagnant or the people
20:37
around you are stagnant, it's time for you to change. Act you know,
20:41
you need to change in order to elevate and grow. And if you're
20:45
around people who don't express that to you, that that's not beneficial to you.

And so, like I said, my poetry evolved from that, from
20:56
dealing with relationships from platonic to you know, love relationships to which your children

and I think On one show We Reflect, we talked about the vices.

I have a poem called Devil's Reflection, and it talks about the vices because

everybody had vices. It can be money, it could be food, it
21:15
could be another person. But that's the type of poetry that this book reflects

on. So I know I've been I started rambling Angela and Glendora. I'm

sorry, no, you you did. Look on this show. We want

to share, like I want our audience and those that support us like this

is our opportunity for people to really to connect with us. And I just

have this thing where I want people to see us in our authenticness so that

they can see who we are. When when people can see who you are,

they can relate to you. Because I've had people that tell me,

if you print a blank book, and you know, I want to try

him out and see if they would do it. So I put I just

printed a notebook and see if people would buy, and they bought it.

Look at God in there, Look at God. I won't do it,

do it? He and He want us to be able to, you know,

share share like this and to be we talk because you know, some

people, we're gonna be the only Jesus that a lot of people see,

you know. And that's why I put him on the forefront and everything that

I do. You know, I love to have fun. I love to

laugh. I even have me some wine. I might even throw in a

mixed drink every now and then. But I love my God. I love

Jesus because I know what He's done for me. And I know that without

him I am how I have no power without him, But with him,

all things are possible. That the impossible is possible with him. And he

showed me that over over and over, so I have no I have no
23:15
choice but to to pay it for it. And on this journey, I

just asked him to keep me humble. I just asked him to just just

keep me focused on him, keep me in out of the way, and

just allow him that that that and he breathed into us over in Genesis two

and seven. I just want that to show up everywhere I go so that

he can be glorified. And the things that I do not about me.

I want people tonight not only be able to know who y'all are,

but I want them to be able to walk away tonight and know how to

follow y'all. I want them to know how to get your books. I

It's a book of poems that came strictly from the things that I have been

experiencing. And then one church house poetry, which is really comical. If

Wounded Lambs. I talk in this book about how I raised my children before

I came to the Lord, and how I raised them after, or tried

to raise them after I was inspired by God, you know, after I

accepted the Lord Jesus as my savior and tried to live a life, you

know that was godly, you know, instead of the way I had been
26:22
living before, and trying to raise my children in a way where they would

know and love the Lord as I do today. So that's what that is

about. And then I wrote, well, this one is a collective book,

a collaborative book, and it's about deep rooted by His blood. We

did that in church, so everybody took some scriptures and wrote about what that

scripture meant. So I've been on this journey for a very long time.

I think I started writing in two thousand and eight, but actually I started

writing, you know, out of high school. I just didn't have enough

confidence. I guess to put it forward at a younger age, and so

as I got older, someone said, why don't you publish what you do?
