- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and with me is the ever-curious Luna. Luna: Hey everyone! Did you catch last episode on borrowing books at the library? I've been practicing those phrases. Lucas: Totally. Today we're going somewhere fun — the cinema! So Luna, imagine you want to watch a new movie. Luna: Ohh, I love movies! Okay, I'm at the cinema. What do I say? Lucas: First, you tell the cashier, 'Saya nak tengok wayang.' That means 'I want to watch a movie.' Let's break it down: 'Saya nak' is 'I want', 'tengok' is 'watch', and 'wayang' is 'movie'. Luna: Saya nak tengok wayang. Saya nak tengok wayang. Got it! Lucas: Perfect! Now they might ask what movie you want. But let's skip to buying a ticket. Say, 'Saya nak satu tiket' — 'I want one ticket.' Luna: Saya nak satu tiket. So 'satu' is 'one' and 'tiket' is 'ticket'. Easy. Lucas: Exactly. Now if you want to ask the price, you say, 'Berapa harga tiket?' — 'How much is the ticket?' Luna: Berapa harga tiket? Berapa harga tiket? That rolls off the tongue. Lucas: It does! Now, if you want to know the showtime, ask, 'Tayangan pukul berapa?' — 'What time is the screening?' Luna: Tayangan pukul berapa? 'Pukul' means 'o'clock'. Got it. Lucas: And if you're buying for two, say, 'Saya nak tiket untuk dua orang' — 'I want tickets for two people.' Luna: Saya nak tiket untuk dua orang. 'Dua' is 'two', 'orang' is 'people'. So that's useful if I bring a friend. Lucas: Exactly. Let's practice a mini conversation. I'll be the cashier. You come up and say you want to watch a movie. Luna: Okay! Selamat petang. Saya nak tengok wayang. Lucas: Selamat petang. Nak tengok wayang apa? Luna: Err... Saya nak satu tiket. Lucas: Berapa harga tiket? Luna: Oh, I'm supposed to ask that! Berapa harga tiket? Lucas: Tiket sepuluh ringgit. Tayangan pukul lapan malam. Luna: Okay, Saya nak tiket untuk dua orang. Actually, wait — I need two tickets because I'm bringing you! Lucas: Aww, I'm flattered. Then say, 'Saya nak dua tiket.' Luna: Saya nak dua tiket. That's simpler! Lucas: Yes. So let's review the phrases we've got. First: 'Saya nak tengok wayang.' Luna: Saya nak tengok wayang. Lucas: Second: 'Saya nak satu tiket.' Luna: Saya nak satu tiket. Lucas: Third: 'Berapa harga tiket?' Luna: Berapa harga tiket? Lucas: Fourth: 'Tayangan pukul berapa?' Luna: Tayangan pukul berapa? Lucas: And fifth: 'Saya nak tiket untuk dua orang.' Luna: Saya nak tiket untuk dua orang. Lucas: You sound like a pro. Practice these phrases, and next time you're at the cinema in Malaysia, you'll be ready. See you next episode! Luna: Bye bye!
