- 0:00Speaker 1: Come come, h I sure will.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Good morning everybody, you all listening to the voice, come
- 0:11Speaker 2: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got
- 0:14Speaker 2: a radio show. I thank God for it every day.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I try to remember that too, you know. I try
- 0:19Speaker 2: to remember to be grateful. I think gratitude is one
- 0:24Speaker 2: of the things that helps keep me grounded. You can
- 0:27Speaker 2: go as far as you want in life. If you
- 0:29Speaker 2: don't mind who gets the credit. Well, that applies to
- 0:32Speaker 2: God too, don't it. I mean, you know, really, if
- 0:35Speaker 2: you don't mind who gets the credit. I'm surrounded by
- 0:40Speaker 2: very competent people. I'm surrounded by a lot of people
- 0:44Speaker 2: who work hard on their jobs, on their career, who
- 0:48Speaker 2: are dedicated employees and also just dedicated to their families
- 0:54Speaker 2: and you know, dedicated to their own set of aspirations.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I don't expect anybody to work for me forever. I
- 1:02Speaker 2: always look at my job opportunities as stepping stones because
- 1:07Speaker 2: I want everyone around me really to aspire to be more.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I mean, that's really the way I am. I'm not
- 1:13Speaker 2: any other way. I'm not trying to hold you to
- 1:16Speaker 2: this position, you know, tell you there's no room for
- 1:19Speaker 2: growth any of that. But even though I'm surrounded by
- 1:24Speaker 2: these people. I'm grateful that God placed them in my path,
- 1:32Speaker 2: in my life, but in my mind, in my spirit,
- 1:38Speaker 2: in everything in me, the credit still belongs to God.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry. The credit still belongs to God.
- 1:49Speaker 2: See if you would, just for a moment, stop thinking
- 1:54Speaker 2: about yourself, just for a moment. I know that's hard,
- 1:58Speaker 2: but just for a moment, stop thinking about yourself and
- 2:02Speaker 2: realized that maybe you are who you are because God
- 2:06Speaker 2: is who he is.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Maybe that's the case.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Have you ever considered that that's the strongest possibility I
- 2:13Speaker 2: can give to you? You know, how do you think
- 2:17Speaker 2: you the one that made it through? How you think
- 2:21Speaker 2: you the one after all of the ignorant decisions we
- 2:25Speaker 2: have made? And oh my goodness, let's all be honest.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Ain't we made some crazy decisions I'm talking about man,
- 2:32Speaker 2: I have made decisions so adverse to my destiny and career,
- 2:38Speaker 2: my promises. I've made some decisions man, knowingly you hear me,
- 2:44Speaker 2: knowingly do something wrong, And in spite of all that,
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm still here standing. Okay, come on now, really, really,
- 2:54Speaker 2: all the dirt you'd bene done, everybody done dirt, all
- 2:59Speaker 2: the mistakes you've made, you in the position you in
- 3:02Speaker 2: today because of what? Because you all that? Because you
- 3:07Speaker 2: work harder than anybody else. Look, I work hard, I'll
- 3:12Speaker 2: be the I'll tell you in a minute. I work hard.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But I don't think I'm the hardest working person out there.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure somebody done work way harder than I have.
- 3:21Speaker 2: So okay, so you work hard? Okay, cool? I got
- 3:24Speaker 2: all that. But man, what about his grace and his mercy?
- 3:31Speaker 2: What about his favor? How many times, man you done
- 3:36Speaker 2: relied on that even when you ain't know you was
- 3:38Speaker 2: relying on it? How many times man God done shown
- 3:41Speaker 2: you mercy? You ain't even deserve it? Do you know
- 3:45Speaker 2: how many things I've done wrong? I just ain't get
- 3:47Speaker 2: caught at it?
- 3:50Speaker 1: You know. Let me see how simple I can be.
- 3:53Speaker 1: You speed, you jwall.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You lie to police when you get pulled over that
- 4:00Speaker 2: you wasn't speeding. You go to court and to argue
- 4:03Speaker 2: you wasn't speeding when you was. You make U turns.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm just doing traffic violations. Now, let's get off traffic
- 4:13Speaker 2: for a second. Let's get on human violations. You talk
- 4:17Speaker 2: about people when you're not supposed to. You indulge yourself
- 4:22Speaker 2: in gossip even when you don't really have all the facts.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You pass judgment, You lust for people that don't belong
- 4:32Speaker 2: to you. You say things to people that you're not
- 4:36Speaker 2: supposed to say. So look, all of us, we all
- 4:44Speaker 2: were all guilty. Now see, I'm not saying you do
- 4:47Speaker 2: all of that, but I'm saying I'm pretty sure I
- 4:50Speaker 2: hit you somewhere in there, just somewhere in there. You
- 4:53Speaker 2: done lied before, you know, you lied recently. I mean,
- 4:57Speaker 2: come on, And I'm just saying so with all that, See,
- 5:00Speaker 2: I'm just looking at the little things that we do
- 5:02Speaker 2: that we don't get busted for. Not to mention the
- 5:05Speaker 2: chips you stole when you was a kid and nobody
- 5:08Speaker 2: caught you.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Well, that elevated, didn't it.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And some of y'all just didn't stop stealing, And next
- 5:13Speaker 2: thing you know, you was in a car. Now you're
- 5:14Speaker 2: sitting somewhere you don't want to be sitting because of
- 5:17Speaker 2: a decision you made. But through his grace and mercy,
- 5:20Speaker 2: couldn't it have been worse?
- 5:21Speaker 1: Though?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Without his grace and mercy, could not it have been worse?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I know two dudes that got caught in the garage
- 5:28Speaker 2: one time trying to break in somebody's house, and the
- 5:31Speaker 2: person in the house they broke into just happened to
- 5:33Speaker 2: have a gun and held them in the garage, caught
- 5:37Speaker 2: them and held them to the garage to the police car.
- 5:40Speaker 2: That's Grace and Mercy right there, because they had all
- 5:43Speaker 2: full right to shoot these two people, but they didn't.
- 5:46Speaker 2: They're Grace and Mercy. See, all of us have benefited
- 5:50Speaker 2: from his grace and mercy. All of us have done
- 5:53Speaker 2: or wrong, committed a sin, broken the law, and somehow,
- 5:56Speaker 2: through his grace and mercy, got by, doing drugs, buying drugs,
- 6:00Speaker 2: slanging drugs, doing something, got by, jumped on somebody for
- 6:04Speaker 2: no reason, got by, you know. So see how you
- 6:09Speaker 2: figure with all that that can go on in your life?
- 6:13Speaker 2: And then hold on, let me throw a couple more
- 6:15Speaker 2: at you. You can't wake yourself up in the morning,
- 6:18Speaker 2: mister big shot. You don't have the ability to control
- 6:24Speaker 2: the breaths that you take. Really, mister big shot, really,
- 6:29Speaker 2: let's get real basic with it now.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You can't wake yourself up in the morning.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That's favor, that's grace, that's mercy, that's him allowing you
- 6:42Speaker 2: to wake up, just hoping we get it right. You know,
- 6:47Speaker 2: God spared me through all the dirt I was doing,
- 6:50Speaker 2: just hoping one day? Man, can you just straighten up
- 6:52Speaker 2: a little bit? When I finally straightened up, and I'm
- 6:56Speaker 2: gonna just say it straightened up a little bit. See,
- 6:58Speaker 2: I ain't straightened up all the way. Say I ain't
- 7:00Speaker 2: gonna sit here and tell you that I just straightened
- 7:02Speaker 2: up a little bit. He started blessing me. So the
- 7:05Speaker 2: more blessings I got start going, Man, maybe I'll try
- 7:07Speaker 2: straighten up a little bit more. So I straightened up
- 7:09Speaker 2: a little bit more. I still got a long way
- 7:11Speaker 2: to go, but I'm straighter than I was now. When
- 7:14Speaker 2: people judging me and as they will, and they do
- 7:17Speaker 2: because that ain't right, but they do, and I ain't
- 7:19Speaker 2: walking just the way they walk.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Then here come to criticism. I get it all the time.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Stop wanting credit all the time, and give out some
- 7:27Speaker 2: credit where credit is due instead of having somebody patting
- 7:30Speaker 2: you on your back all the time. Why don't you
- 7:32Speaker 2: tell God kill people it was really was God, man,
- 7:35Speaker 2: that you don't really know how you made it? That
- 7:38Speaker 2: really man, you have no explanation for your success or
- 7:41Speaker 2: you have no explanation why you still exist in today?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Why don't you tell somebody it was God today. Don't
- 7:46Speaker 2: be ashamed. It's the truth, ain't it. I mean, really, man,
- 7:50Speaker 2: let's give God some credit here. Give God the credit
- 7:53Speaker 2: and the glory and the honor. And like that plaque said,
- 7:56Speaker 2: you can go as far as you want in life
- 7:58Speaker 2: if you don't mind who gets the credit.
