- 2:09Speaker 4: You got the yellow lights around us?
- 2:11Speaker 5: They really do.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Like I really feel like the studio pops a little
- 2:14Speaker 3: bit more of the yellow. You were fired up this morning.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I walk into the studio.
- 2:18Speaker 7: You're back here messing with the with the lights over
- 2:21Speaker 7: here behind us, like trying to get the perfect shaded yellow.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I was impressed. I didn't even know you knew how
- 2:25Speaker 3: to do it. Not a big deal. Look it matches
- 2:27Speaker 3: perfectly too, looks good.
- 2:30Speaker 4: I'm a big light guy. Love lighting. I don't like
- 2:33Speaker 4: seeing light bulbs. That's kind of like my thing at
- 2:36Speaker 4: the house. I don't want to see light bulbs, but
- 2:39Speaker 4: I love a.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Light Yeah, they gotta have some sort of skonce or something,
- 2:42Speaker 5: some sort of some.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Sort of glow situation. Now, I get it.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You gotta have can lights when it's like homework time
- 2:50Speaker 4: at the house for you, like, you gotta have some lights, right,
- 2:52Speaker 4: I get it.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I like good lighting. I don't want to see a
- 2:55Speaker 3: light bulb though, just me, so I don't of these cool.
- 3:01Speaker 5: And they're also just not great.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Yeah, these lights, these theater lights came from the theater
- 3:07Speaker 4: where Lincoln was shot, I think.
- 3:09Speaker 3: And they were old. Then they were old, then they
- 3:11Speaker 3: were used.
- 3:12Speaker 7: Absolutely, they were used all right.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Well as of last night, women's final four set kind
- 3:25Speaker 4: of a stinker too.
- 3:26Speaker 3: It's boring. It's all number ones.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Typical.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that happens a lot with the women's Let we
- 3:34Speaker 3: talked about it. They're very top heavy. Yeah, they did.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And none of the games were like particularly close.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Se there Texas Beach. Texas beat Michigan seventy seven to
- 3:43Speaker 4: forty one. Let's see Duke but No eight U C
- 3:49Speaker 4: Lab Dukes seventy to fifty eight. Yukon beats Notre Dame
- 3:52Speaker 4: seventy to fifty two. South Carolina bet TCU seventy eight
- 3:57Speaker 4: fifty two they weren't really close, but then we got
- 4:00Speaker 4: a set. So it's Yukon, Ucla, Texas, South Carolina Yukon
- 4:03Speaker 4: minus two hundred and two thirty five to win the
- 4:06Speaker 4: national championship.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Ucla and Texas both tied at plus five point fifty
- 4:11Speaker 3: South Carolina plus seven fifty to win the championship. So
- 4:16Speaker 3: based on that, I guess Yukon is a big favorite here.
- 4:19Speaker 7: I would like to see them win, like they'd be
- 4:21Speaker 7: be number twelve for Gina and think about how hard
- 4:23Speaker 7: that is, Like that would put him over John Wooden.
- 4:27Speaker 7: That's probably what they said about eleven ro think about
- 4:30Speaker 7: how hard that is. But I mean he tied Wooden
- 4:32Speaker 7: with eleven. This would give him this is give him
- 4:34Speaker 7: twelve national championships. I mean that's a that's a hell
- 4:37Speaker 7: of a run. So if you want, if you want
- 4:38Speaker 7: to find something to pull for, plus, I think Gino
- 4:41Speaker 7: does it the right way. Gino has always been a
- 4:43Speaker 7: pretty good coach. I got I've always been a Geno
- 4:46Speaker 7: arim a fan.
- 4:48Speaker 4: He's been pretty good for sure, and he always says
- 4:51Speaker 4: the right things too. Like I like listening to him,
- 4:53Speaker 4: especially this time of year in press conferences because he
- 4:57Speaker 4: fights for the sport certainly and like to get its
- 5:01Speaker 4: fair share of opportunity in the spotlight, and he fights
- 5:04Speaker 4: for his team, certainly so. But it like to be
- 5:07Speaker 4: in the final four with all number one seeds and
- 5:10Speaker 4: to be minus two thirty five to win.
- 5:12Speaker 3: It's pretty tells you something right there.
- 5:14Speaker 4: And you look over at the men's side, number one seed, Michigan,
- 5:18Speaker 4: number one seed, Arizona, number three seed, Illinois, number two seed, Yukon,
- 5:22Speaker 4: much more evenly distributed. Actually, Michigan has the best odds
- 5:29Speaker 4: per the betting, per the per vegas. I guess to
- 5:33Speaker 4: win it all, Michigan's at plus one seventy to win
- 5:35Speaker 4: it all, Arizona plus one eighty to win it all,
- 5:38Speaker 4: Illinois plus four hundred, Yukon plus five fifty. So those
- 5:42Speaker 4: matchups will begin here in the next few days, Michigan
- 5:46Speaker 4: versus Arizona, so you got the two number ones going
- 5:49Speaker 4: at it, then Illinois versus Yukon.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Out of you broke down our OTV brackets, which we
- 5:57Speaker 7: don't need. We don't need to mention what place we're
- 5:59Speaker 7: in or anything. But uh, I think Michigan's my loan.
- 6:05Speaker 5: I don't even know if I have anybody in the
- 6:06Speaker 5: final four.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Look, we we created are off the bench little group
- 6:12Speaker 4: and Mark. So it's called OTB, Wolfpack, foxhol T, Martin
- 6:18Speaker 4: and I think twelve people joined it, like and I'm
- 6:22Speaker 4: sure more people would have joined it as well if
- 6:24Speaker 4: I didn't make the name so long and confusing. I
- 6:26Speaker 4: get it, but it made me laugh at the time.
- 6:28Speaker 4: That's why I did it, So I don't apologize. Well,
- 6:31Speaker 4: the tripod we're in the last three places.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't have anybody in the final four.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not good, guys, it is not good.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Duke was like my last shot at having somebody in
- 6:42Speaker 6: the final four.
- 6:45Speaker 3: There a miracle away too, So yeah. So I had Michigan.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Do you have them winning it all? I got them
- 6:52Speaker 3: winning at all?
- 6:54Speaker 7: Well, because I do too, And I was like, I
- 6:55Speaker 7: don't know if that gives you points if you get that,
- 6:59Speaker 7: probably not like point.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yeah, so let's see I had let's see, I had Michigan, Arkansas,
- 7:04Speaker 4: Michigan State, and Vandy. I really thought Vandy was heating
- 7:09Speaker 4: up the right time. Did oh, yeah, Delta, it's a
- 7:11Speaker 4: big on them.
- 7:12Speaker 6: I had Duke, Houston, Texas Tech in Texas.
- 7:18Speaker 4: It's not great. So let me ask you this. Have
- 7:21Speaker 4: y'all been Have y'all been locked into the tournament? I mean,
- 7:26Speaker 4: Taylor you're locked into.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I mean not not as.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Elected as I have been in years past, just because
- 7:31Speaker 7: it's it's kind of been so chalk.
- 7:32Speaker 3: But I mean, I've watched the I've watched the big schools.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Are we are we bandwagon? Like if our brackets kind
- 7:37Speaker 4: of busted, you kind of tune out of it?
- 7:39Speaker 3: Or is it?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Has this been a different year for y'all? Because I
- 7:43Speaker 4: probably I think it's just like my time of life
- 7:46Speaker 4: right now. We're so slammed with kids stuff all the time,
- 7:50Speaker 4: you can't like lock in as much as you want to.
- 7:52Speaker 4: But I also didn't know it is because like Bandy
- 7:55Speaker 4: lost early, so I wouldn't as interested.
- 7:57Speaker 7: I never thought I'd pull from Michigan in anything, but
- 8:00Speaker 7: kind of like to see them win. The Big Ten
- 8:02Speaker 7: hadn't won a national championship in the NCAA tournament? Was
- 8:05Speaker 7: it one O two? Michigan State? And that's the last time?
- 8:09Speaker 7: So street coming to an end? That's that's a little
- 8:12Speaker 7: bit interesting. That's wild, right, I know, because they up
- 8:14Speaker 7: basketball schools? Is it last time since matteen Cleaves? Was Yes,
- 8:19Speaker 7: that's the entire ten. The last time a Big Ten
- 8:23Speaker 7: team has won the national championship Men's basketball, Matteaen Cleaves
- 8:28Speaker 7: like the one of the few people that I remember
- 8:30Speaker 7: watching as a kid. Like I can tell you because
- 8:32Speaker 7: I'm you know, Mike come as a shock to y'all.
- 8:35Speaker 7: I'm not a guy that recalls a lot.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Of names and sports, but matteen Cleaves is one of them.
- 8:41Speaker 3: The lefty I believe that was a fun team to watch.
- 8:47Speaker 7: Yeah, and that's the last time and like freshman up
- 8:50Speaker 7: the they don't how any Wisconsin teams Michigan, I mean
- 8:53Speaker 7: you know that. You've seen the The Fab five documentary,
- 8:55Speaker 7: Chris Webber, Jalen Rose and all them. They never won
- 8:58Speaker 7: the national championship. Like, there's just so many teams that
- 9:01Speaker 7: were very very close. Wisconsin with Frank Kaminski a few
- 9:04Speaker 7: years ago, it was really really good.
- 9:06Speaker 3: They got to the finals.
- 9:07Speaker 7: They lost to do Like, there's so many teams out
- 9:10Speaker 7: there that got closed or just han't got it done
- 9:12Speaker 7: for whatever reason.
- 9:14Speaker 4: You got to think that with the emergence of the
- 9:18Speaker 4: pay for play period of college football, this time we're
- 9:21Speaker 4: in that you got to think that the Big Ten,
- 9:23Speaker 4: we will have better teams probably not to say that
- 9:27Speaker 4: they haven't had. I mean, it's hard even if you're
- 9:28Speaker 4: a great team, it's hard to get through the tournament.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Everybody understands that. But you got to think.
- 9:34Speaker 4: That some of the bigger schools will invest the money,
- 9:37Speaker 4: just like teams of the SEC are doing, teams in
- 9:40Speaker 4: different different parts of the country are doing in different conferences.
- 9:43Speaker 4: But you got to think there's some teams out there
- 9:45Speaker 4: in the Big Ten that say, you bring up like
- 9:48Speaker 4: a Wisconsin. I know they have funds to do it.
- 9:50Speaker 4: I know that's a proud sport for them. You got
- 9:52Speaker 4: to think teams like that will invest those inn aisle
- 9:56Speaker 4: dollars and be able to fundraise necessary funds for those
- 10:01Speaker 4: different programs that you know outside of football. We know
- 10:04Speaker 4: that for a lot of SEC and Big Ten, football
- 10:08Speaker 4: is going to get the line line's share of like
- 10:10Speaker 4: the revshare portion, But those teams that have that history
- 10:14Speaker 4: of being really good just haven't been able to break through,
- 10:17Speaker 4: I think are going to benefit from that fundraising. So
- 10:21Speaker 4: that's an interesting one you bring up there with the
- 10:23Speaker 4: old badges. But we'll see if Michigan get it done.
- 10:25Speaker 4: I'm not don't want to cheer for them, But for
- 10:28Speaker 4: the sake of my bracket, right, Like, that's I need
- 10:31Speaker 4: to go from like third to last place to at
- 10:32Speaker 4: least fifth or sixth to the last place.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Can I get the middle of there? That's a big
- 10:36Speaker 3: deal for me. Talking about some bragging rights there not
- 10:39Speaker 3: somebody just put this in the chat.
- 10:41Speaker 7: You were talking earlier about the Saints having marketing rights
- 10:46Speaker 7: in Italy. The Cleveland Browns are just posted we are
- 10:50Speaker 7: excited to announce that we've fig granted marketing rights in Italy.
- 10:55Speaker 3: So it's not exclusive, not exclusive.
- 10:59Speaker 5: I don't know how any Maybe they're gonna play each other.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Italy's just handing out those rights. Like It's true, you
- 11:04Speaker 3: do gotta have two teams. So that's a fair point.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Now the Browns are a choice for sure.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Got to play someone. Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 4: I even asked, like I even asked chat GPT, what
- 11:15Speaker 4: does NFL Global Market Program mean?
- 11:20Speaker 3: Didn't really have a great answer for me. Really. Basically,
- 11:25Speaker 3: it says the NFL is franchising its teams globally without
- 11:28Speaker 3: moving them by letting them quote unquote own fan growth
- 11:32Speaker 3: in specific countries.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I mean that makes sense, what does it?
- 11:39Speaker 6: Yeah, if you want to spread the game, globally like
- 11:41Speaker 6: NFL wants to do. Then, Yeah, it would make sense
- 11:44Speaker 6: that you would have to market in other countries.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, but like doing.
- 11:49Speaker 4: About team, that makes it a little weird, right, and
- 11:51Speaker 4: especially given in the Browns, I.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Guess yeah, the Browns are choice for sure.
- 11:57Speaker 7: Are you selling Saints gear and Brown's gear exclusively in it?
- 12:01Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 12:02Speaker 4: So that the National Football leagu Global Market Experiment allows
- 12:04Speaker 4: individual NFL teams to market themselves in specific countries outside
- 12:08Speaker 4: the US, almost like giving them territories overseas. I don't
- 12:13Speaker 4: know what that means though. Were they not allowed to
- 12:16Speaker 4: sell a Saints jersey in Italy beforehand?
- 12:20Speaker 3: I don't get. I don't know what that means.
- 12:25Speaker 4: I read like the big statement from this that the
- 12:27Speaker 4: Saints posted as well, it still told me a whole
- 12:29Speaker 4: bunch of nothing.
- 12:34Speaker 6: It's looking so I'm on like the NFL's website right now,
- 12:37Speaker 6: and it does look like every team has its own
- 12:40Speaker 6: little territory.
- 12:40Speaker 5: So Italy is Saints and Browns.
- 12:43Speaker 6: Germany has the Falcons, the Panthers, the Lions, the Packers,
- 12:47Speaker 6: the Colts, the Chiefs.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, why Germany gets so many I don't know.
- 12:54Speaker 6: Greece only has the Chargers. South Korea only has the Rams,
- 12:58Speaker 6: Japan only has the Rams, Nigeria has the Browns, Argentina
- 13:03Speaker 6: only has the Dolphins.
- 13:06Speaker 5: France only has the Saints.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Which France makes sense because the flair flitidly.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I think that, Like it's the proximity from France to Italy.
- 13:21Speaker 3: What does it mean they can sell jerseys there?
- 13:23Speaker 6: I mean this feels pretty self explanatory to me.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Why because they're just trying to.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Market in other countries, Like I don't know why that's
- 13:31Speaker 6: hard to understand.
- 13:32Speaker 3: What do you mean about market in other countries?
- 13:34Speaker 5: Like they're just trying to like promote themselves.
- 13:39Speaker 3: This country. This is your team now, I guess. Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 6: It's kind of how the Jaguars weren't the Jaguars like
- 13:44Speaker 6: in uh, England?
- 13:46Speaker 5: Yeah? Or who's in Ireland.
- 13:52Speaker 6: The Steelers, Like isn't it one of the.
- 13:56Speaker 3: One of them? Is? So like Italy is like I
- 13:59Speaker 3: declare that all citizens of this great country can only
- 14:05Speaker 3: be fans of the Browns or the Saints because they
- 14:08Speaker 3: are marketing here.
- 14:10Speaker 6: And I'm sure any other team could be like, hey,
- 14:12Speaker 6: I want to market in Italy too.
- 14:14Speaker 4: A couple hundred bucks, maybe we're gonna ask Nick Underhill,
- 14:23Speaker 4: we had to get to the bottom of this situation.
- 14:26Speaker 4: And I agree, like the words they're saying are self explanatory,
- 14:31Speaker 4: but I don't agree that what it actually means means
- 14:36Speaker 4: anything except to confuse me on a Tuesday morning.
- 14:41Speaker 6: I think it's just a global initiative to get people
- 14:43Speaker 6: more into the NFL.
- 14:47Speaker 7: Good do you because like I'm okay with a couple
- 14:53Speaker 7: of games, but like the NFL opens on a Wednesday night.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, this year, which I hate.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you're gonna do it, Like give everybody
- 14:59Speaker 4: one country in one team.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Jeremy, what you got eight of them? It's not fair.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Ram's got a couple of countries, just pick one. Who
- 15:18Speaker 3: do you think the Cowboys have? North Korea?
- 15:21Speaker 7: No, let me think somewhere somewhere, Yeah, some third world.
- 15:29Speaker 5: I actually don't see the Cowboys on here.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Nobody wants them. Jerry said, it's all about America.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Probably all right, they got the Great State of Texas,
- 15:42Speaker 6: all right.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Probably exactly what he said. All right, well we.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Are back in Mexico makes sense too, That also makes sense.
- 15:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Fifteen minutes we got Ja Clark joining the show where
- 15:54Speaker 4: you will talk about you gymnastics as they go into regionals.
- 15:57Speaker 4: They're gonna host the regionals starting to April first through fourth,
- 16:01Speaker 4: I believe right here at the Pemis. So we'll have
- 16:03Speaker 4: him joining the show. We got Nick Underhill coming in
- 16:06Speaker 4: at nine am to discuss these global marketing rights. What
- 16:11Speaker 4: what the hell that really means? So we'll find out,
- 16:13Speaker 4: but stick with us right here, off the.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Match, off the bench.
- 16:18Speaker 4: All right, do y'all know what if you dial eight
- 16:20Speaker 4: eight eight eight eight eight eight, you know where that
- 16:22Speaker 4: takes you?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Uh?
- 16:24Speaker 5: Gordon mccurna, Yes, no way.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Gordon mccurnon, injury attorney.
- 16:27Speaker 4: So if you've been injured, if you get a little
- 16:29Speaker 4: thinder bender, get a car accident, maybe been injured on
- 16:32Speaker 4: the job, we'll pick up your phone, start.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Hitting the eighth eight eight eight eight eight eight. You
- 16:37Speaker 3: started hitting it.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Till calls no matter where in Louisiana, doesn't matter where,
- 16:40Speaker 4: what that area code is, that is the number of dials.
- 16:44Speaker 4: So if you have been injured, you don't really know
- 16:46Speaker 4: what to do, well give them a call, because they
- 16:48Speaker 4: do know what to do. They can get exactly what
- 16:51Speaker 4: you deserve. They've been doing it a long time and
- 16:55Speaker 4: we've seen them in the community, Gordon mccurnet in the
- 16:57Speaker 4: community doing so many great things throughout the year, so
- 16:59Speaker 4: many charitable giveaways, donations, all the things that they do.
- 17:05Speaker 3: For all of us.
- 17:06Speaker 4: And then as well as the G team as well
- 17:08Speaker 4: l s U Athletics proud partners with all the all
- 17:11Speaker 4: the work they've done with the G team right over there,
- 17:13Speaker 4: so good check them out. If you've been injured called
- 17:15Speaker 4: Gordon mccarne Injury Attorneys. Get Gordon dot.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Com off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn,
- 17:29Speaker 2: presented by Community Steel.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Him many deal.
- 17:54Speaker 4: I'll all right, welcome back here off the bench Tuesday morning.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I've got some complaints by my Mike levels the chat.
- 18:12Speaker 4: I'm just gonna speak up, speaking a little low this morning.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I'm not going to complain like Hester and say I'm
- 18:18Speaker 4: tired this morning.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I would never do that.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I saw a great comment in the chat earlier that
- 18:25Speaker 4: said Hester now identifies as a running back, not a
- 18:30Speaker 4: fullback since he's gone to NFL.
- 18:34Speaker 3: That's a tough look for him.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 4: He one of the big things that has kind of
- 18:43Speaker 4: been coming across my timeline this past week and this weekend. Certainly,
- 18:47Speaker 4: I want to get y'all's thoughts on it is the
- 18:49Speaker 4: new ABS system in Major League Baseball. I know there's
- 18:53Speaker 4: a lot of good to it, but I want to
- 18:56Speaker 4: know how y'all feel that it has gone through the
- 19:00Speaker 4: first you know, first handful of games out now that
- 19:04Speaker 4: of course, the ABS system is the automatic ball strike situation,
- 19:08Speaker 4: which is allows players to challenge balls and tricks obviously
- 19:14Speaker 4: well tap of the head most of times getting a
- 19:16Speaker 4: real quick tap of the head as well. But the
- 19:19Speaker 4: umpires are getting exposed real fast out here now, Like like,
- 19:22Speaker 4: I'm not gonna say this is an easy situation because
- 19:24Speaker 4: most of these things that I'm seeing at least that
- 19:26Speaker 4: are getting challenged are like fractions of an inch that
- 19:30Speaker 4: they're either hitting the square or not hitting it. How
- 19:34Speaker 4: do y'all think it's gone? Is this Is this good
- 19:37Speaker 4: for the game or is this bad for the game?
- 19:39Speaker 5: I think it can be both, But I'm also a
- 19:41Speaker 5: lot things can be true. I think both things can
- 19:43Speaker 5: be true.
- 19:44Speaker 6: I know that's kind of like a riding the fence
- 19:46Speaker 6: kind of answer, but I personally this is and this
- 19:50Speaker 6: is a hot People don't agree with me at all,
- 19:53Speaker 6: but me personally, I'm like a traditionalist, right so I
- 19:57Speaker 6: don't like to see all the new stuff that's happening
- 19:59Speaker 6: in baseball, well just because like I just like the
- 20:01Speaker 6: old school way of doing things, and like baseball is
- 20:05Speaker 6: America's pastime, you know, so I just feel like that's
- 20:07Speaker 6: one of those things that you shouldn't really mess with.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Like I don't like the pitch clock. I know that
- 20:12Speaker 6: people hate that take and everybody loves the pitchclock, but
- 20:17Speaker 6: I just don't like it. But I think that when
- 20:21Speaker 6: there's umpires that are clearly really bad at their.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Job and.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Sometimes inconsistent with calling balls and strikes, I think that's good.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Who was the who?
- 20:37Speaker 6: I think objectively it could be a good thing. Subjectively,
- 20:40Speaker 6: I'm not like I don't care either.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Way, right, Like I'm all about all sports. Yeah, and
- 20:45Speaker 4: I'm not even gonna say exposing.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Refs or ups expose them.
- 20:49Speaker 8: But.
- 20:51Speaker 4: I guess exposing the ones that aren't as good like
- 20:55Speaker 4: they are going to be having people watch you have
- 21:00Speaker 4: an accountability, especially immediate accountability, like this makes you be
- 21:04Speaker 4: better at anything that you do. Are your good coach
- 21:06Speaker 4: hos hold his players accountable, A good parent holds his
- 21:09Speaker 4: kids accountable, Like that's the way we get better and
- 21:12Speaker 4: I'm sure that these umps have a grade and they're
- 21:15Speaker 4: accountable to somebody, but now they're accountable to everybody in
- 21:20Speaker 4: real time. Immediately. How embarrassing had to it have been
- 21:24Speaker 4: for it was? It was it cb C B. Buckner
- 21:28Speaker 4: the umpire, I can't even remember what a game was
- 21:30Speaker 4: like he got six, like immediately he got six wrong?
- 21:35Speaker 4: Now again, like, look, we're talking to like a quarter
- 21:37Speaker 4: of an inch off wrong? I get, like, it's it's
- 21:41Speaker 4: hard and the ball's moving a lot. These catchers are
- 21:44Speaker 4: elite or absolutely elite at framing the strike zone. Like,
- 21:48Speaker 4: I get it. It's not an easy situation. But but
- 21:52Speaker 4: my god, and I'm sure and I can imagine that
- 21:54Speaker 4: every umpire in Major League Baseball is gonna have games
- 21:57Speaker 4: like that where they get exposed on multiple So everybody's
- 22:00Speaker 4: gonna have a little egg on their face at some point.
- 22:05Speaker 3: But I think most of the ones.
- 22:06Speaker 4: That I saw called wrong, we're not wrong by a lot, right,
- 22:10Speaker 4: Like if it was if they called it a ball
- 22:12Speaker 4: and the catcher thought it was a strike, Like it's
- 22:14Speaker 4: clipping the outer edge of the perimeter of that rectangle. Yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 4: like so it's not like crazy. So I was watching
- 22:20Speaker 4: it and I was like, man, these refs or these
- 22:22Speaker 4: umps are getting like poo pooed on by everybody, and
- 22:25Speaker 4: I'm like, it's it doesn't look that easy. And these
- 22:28Speaker 4: were really close calls, So like I'm all about you know,
- 22:32Speaker 4: we're not going to ever give like the ref the
- 22:34Speaker 4: benefit of the doubt here on these shows. But I'm
- 22:37Speaker 4: watching it and I'm like, I don't like seeing as
- 22:40Speaker 4: a guy that had like tuned into a lot of
- 22:42Speaker 4: baseball in his adulthood, yeah, starting to try to tune
- 22:45Speaker 4: in a lot more now, especially my son playing baseball.
- 22:49Speaker 4: He wants to watch some more new just baseball on
- 22:51Speaker 4: the TV at least, right, and I like to have
- 22:53Speaker 4: it like at least on the background so.
- 22:55Speaker 3: He's at least like soaking things in subconsciously. Right.
- 22:58Speaker 4: It was just baseball knowledge terminology or whatever it is.
- 23:02Speaker 4: I'm watching it and I don't like it just seems
- 23:06Speaker 4: like they're and I know there are rules and you
- 23:07Speaker 4: can't like there's I'm sure there's a certain amount that
- 23:09Speaker 4: you can do. It seems like there's just people tapping
- 23:12Speaker 4: the head all over the place. I guess my question
- 23:15Speaker 4: like how many do you get?
- 23:16Speaker 7: Because like that's a good point that Lauder brought up
- 23:18Speaker 7: about the pitch clock, like you either love it or
- 23:19Speaker 7: hate it, but they installed the pitchclock to speed up
- 23:22Speaker 7: the game.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I feel like this kind of slows down the game.
- 23:24Speaker 4: And I think they only have like fifteen seconds to
- 23:26Speaker 4: make the decision like once it is.
- 23:28Speaker 7: Which is fine, but it's like, I do feel like
- 23:30Speaker 7: this slows down the game. The pitchclock was to speed
- 23:32Speaker 7: up the game, So it's I mean, kind of like,
- 23:34Speaker 7: what are we doing?
- 23:35Speaker 4: It's goind of counterintuitive, right, so do the first forty
- 23:38Speaker 4: seven games there was one hundred and seventy five challenges,
- 23:41Speaker 4: which is the average of like three point seven per game.
- 23:43Speaker 4: So I guess, like, if you're doing the math, it's
- 23:46Speaker 4: around a minute. I guess probably wasted or not wasted.
- 23:51Speaker 4: So it's it's actually it's not slowing it down too much,
- 23:54Speaker 4: A guess. But that was my thoughts. It's kind of
- 23:57Speaker 4: messing up the flow of the game, right, like to
- 23:59Speaker 4: watch it. But but but there's this other side of
- 24:02Speaker 4: me that's like, but it's actually really good because you're
- 24:04Speaker 4: holding them accountable. They're gonna eventually be better because of
- 24:08Speaker 4: the scrutiny that they're getting.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Uh So I think I.
- 24:12Speaker 7: Don't think there's less reviews there than there is in
- 24:14Speaker 7: like football.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I just don't need to see like a review.
- 24:18Speaker 4: A ball missing like a quarter of an inch outside
- 24:21Speaker 4: of the strike center getting called a strike. I don't
- 24:22Speaker 4: need to see that in the top of the third inning. No,
- 24:25Speaker 4: well it's like no outs, nobody on base, Like I
- 24:28Speaker 4: don't need to see that. Maybe there's a situation to
- 24:30Speaker 4: where like you want the you want that in big situations,
- 24:34Speaker 4: like meaningful situations. So maybe there's parameters on when they
- 24:38Speaker 4: can be called, yeah, or like tighten it down to
- 24:41Speaker 4: how many you can call it, then they're not wasting
- 24:43Speaker 4: them as much like trying to tell a catcher you
- 24:45Speaker 4: can only do it twice again, Like that right, that
- 24:47Speaker 4: guy's like tapping his head every time he's framing one up.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:50Speaker 5: And also like don't leave it up to the ump.
- 24:53Speaker 6: We say it all the time, like if the call
- 24:56Speaker 6: is close, don't leave it up to the ump.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Aoulew that thing off.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Okay if it's like a quarter point Yeah, if it's
- 25:02Speaker 6: a quarter of an inch off the little rectangle or whatever,
- 25:06Speaker 6: like you could have filed that one off.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Leave some of those some of those pictures have so
- 25:11Speaker 4: much movement they probably don't even it's sick.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It is pretty sick. It's fun to watch.
- 25:15Speaker 4: But anyway, hey, look, if you're listening, you're looking at
- 25:19Speaker 4: listening at home, or if you're just at the office.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Whatever is jumping YouTube jumping the chat with us over
- 25:25Speaker 4: on YouTube at the live stream.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Tell us your thoughts, let us know.
- 25:30Speaker 4: But look, we're gonna go to break here and when
- 25:32Speaker 4: we come back, we got the head coach if you'r

- 26:57Speaker 2: it by Community Steel.
- 27:10Speaker 4: All right, welcome back to Off the Bench, Hey thirty
- 27:13Speaker 4: three on it Tuesday morning. Tuesday show is brought to
- 27:15Speaker 4: you by a Community Steel right here from the Raisin
- 27:18Speaker 4: King studio, and uh yeah, it's time. We are pleased
- 27:23Speaker 4: and happy to welcome in the coach of your LSU
- 27:27Speaker 4: gymnastics team. Mister j Clark, how are you doing this morning?
- 27:30Speaker 8: Jay doing good fellas, how are you all this morning?
- 27:33Speaker 3: We are doing fantastic.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Excited for Excited for your team right now hosting a
- 27:38Speaker 4: regional right here in the PMAC.
- 27:40Speaker 3: What does that?
- 27:40Speaker 4: What does that mean for you to have that seed
- 27:43Speaker 4: at the end of the year, to be able to
- 27:44Speaker 4: host these regionals?
- 27:46Speaker 8: Well, you know, we haven't. We haven't hosted one of
- 27:49Speaker 8: these things since twenty nineteen. And you know, I don't
- 27:53Speaker 8: understand the whole bit process deal that we've got. We
- 27:56Speaker 8: we try to get it every year. We think we're
- 27:58Speaker 8: one of the more attractive locations for this for obvious reasons.
- 28:02Speaker 8: But nonetheless we've got it. This year. We've positioned ourselves
- 28:07Speaker 8: in a great position as the number one seed for
- 28:09Speaker 8: this regional, number two overall nationally, and we feel good
- 28:14Speaker 8: about it. Hopefully we can take advantage of the of
- 28:17Speaker 8: the familiar confines of the p back and being on
- 28:21Speaker 8: our own equipment and and get through this thing.
- 28:23Speaker 3: It's going to be.
- 28:24Speaker 8: It's a tough field that we've got coming in here,
- 28:26Speaker 8: and you know, when you get to this stage of
- 28:29Speaker 8: the game, it's never easy but I feel good about
- 28:32Speaker 8: where our team is mentally and physically at this.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Point because you got these regionals. You have number you know,
- 28:40Speaker 4: of course, number two LSU, you had number fifteen Clemson,
- 28:44Speaker 4: you got Auburn Air Force, Nebraska, the number seven stand
- 28:46Speaker 4: for number ten Michigan, you NC Utah State. So certainly
- 28:51Speaker 4: a lot of good teams out there, but y'all certainly
- 28:53Speaker 4: are not. Y'all are experience with playing of course, being
- 28:58Speaker 4: in the SEC, playing the best of the best in
- 29:00Speaker 4: every single week.
- 29:01Speaker 3: So just how are your girls feeling?
- 29:03Speaker 4: I know they've had a fantastic season, a lot of
- 29:07Speaker 4: great meets, a lot of great scores. They've been posted
- 29:09Speaker 4: coming off the SEC Championships a week and a half ago.
- 29:12Speaker 4: So how would the girls feeling right now, just going
- 29:15Speaker 4: into the postseason.
- 29:17Speaker 8: Well, you're, first of all, you're right, you know, anytime
- 29:20Speaker 8: you can run the gauntlet of the Southeastern Conference during
- 29:24Speaker 8: the year, you should be prepared for just about anything.
- 29:27Speaker 8: But I think our kids are in a good position,
- 29:30Speaker 8: you know, right now, as far as how we train,
- 29:33Speaker 8: less is more Because you get to this stage of
- 29:36Speaker 8: the game and you're fifteen weeks in, the bodies begin
- 29:39Speaker 8: to begin to show a little wear and tear, but
- 29:42Speaker 8: I think more than anything, you know, we've just got
- 29:44Speaker 8: to continue to be the team that we have been
- 29:48Speaker 8: from a mental approach standpoint, and not not trying to
- 29:52Speaker 8: be overly perfect right now. We just need to get
- 29:55Speaker 8: out there and compete hard, which is what we've done
- 29:57Speaker 8: all year. We've shown the ability to fight and let
- 30:00Speaker 8: things snowball on us when when we do have a mistake.
- 30:03Speaker 8: So I feel good about it. I think our kids
- 30:05Speaker 8: feel good about it. Their confident bunch and uh, and
- 30:09Speaker 8: we should be we should be able to position ourselves
- 30:11Speaker 8: pretty well.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Because so your your team takes it takes the floor
- 30:16Speaker 4: on Thursday, Thursday evening at seven pm. And then if
- 30:19Speaker 4: you're interested, there's a lot of gymnastics this week. So
- 30:22Speaker 4: April first through fourth there will be gymnastics tomorrow Air Forest, Nebraska.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Then at one pm on Thursday, Stanford, Michigan, North Carolina,
- 30:30Speaker 4: Utah State. But LSU takes the court on it takes
- 30:34Speaker 4: the floor on Thursday night. So it's a you're going
- 30:37Speaker 4: to go into this is gonna be a four team
- 30:39Speaker 4: meet Thursday night. So how do you how do you
- 30:42Speaker 4: go into those types of meat? There's so much happening around.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Usually it's it's two teams there. Do you tell you
- 30:48Speaker 4: do you tell your girls to focus on what they're doing?
- 30:51Speaker 4: Do you all score watch around what other people are
- 30:53Speaker 4: doing as well?
- 30:54Speaker 8: Well, I hope they don't score watch. I know some
- 30:56Speaker 8: of them probably do. But really, you know, as if
- 31:00Speaker 8: you've heard me stay before, there is no defense. So
- 31:02Speaker 8: the best thing we can do is just stay present
- 31:05Speaker 8: with what it is we're doing, uh, and focus on
- 31:07Speaker 8: on on what we're doing. Look when when things when
- 31:11Speaker 8: things go wrong, it's it's impossible to not wonder, you
- 31:14Speaker 8: know where you stand, and so we you know, we
- 31:16Speaker 8: just have to control those emotions and and stay stay
- 31:20Speaker 8: very very present. As I mentioned, I've likened it before
- 31:24Speaker 8: to you know, being uh, being in the final round
- 31:27Speaker 8: of a of a of a major golf tournament. You
- 31:31Speaker 8: can hear what's going on around you. You can hear
- 31:33Speaker 8: the galleryes going crazy if somebody somebody birdies at sixteen
- 31:37Speaker 8: or whatever. But you've got it. You've got to stay
- 31:39Speaker 8: focused on what you're doing. And the only way to
- 31:41Speaker 8: do that is just to not scoreboard watch, but pour
- 31:44Speaker 8: all your energy into what we're doing. Stay in that bubble.
- 31:47Speaker 8: The best you possibly can, and and uh and hope
- 31:50Speaker 8: for a great outcome and and really for us, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 8: we we're hopeful that our fans will get in there
- 31:56Speaker 8: on Thursday night and again on Saturday. And I realize
- 31:58Speaker 8: it's Easter weekend, you know, and that that poses a
- 32:01Speaker 8: little bit of an obstacle. But you know, we've grown
- 32:04Speaker 8: so accustomed to being in there and having our our
- 32:07Speaker 8: art and support from our fan base and being able
- 32:09Speaker 8: to uh depend on that is something that that that
- 32:13Speaker 8: we need to be able to take advantage of certainly.
- 32:16Speaker 4: And uh, we we hope and we expect LSU fans
- 32:20Speaker 4: to pack the p MAC as well for every time
- 32:23Speaker 4: LSU gymnastics because it is as much watch TV right there.
- 32:27Speaker 4: And I want to follow up a little bit on
- 32:29Speaker 4: the Okay, so and look, this question is coming from
- 32:33Speaker 4: old football player meat had here.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Uh.
- 32:36Speaker 4: If you're watching, so the coaches y'all have to kind
- 32:40Speaker 4: of probably keep track. You want your players to focus
- 32:43Speaker 4: certainly on what's happening. Yeah, but when you get into
- 32:45Speaker 4: the postseason, I mean, it's it's it's winner go home
- 32:48Speaker 4: at this point.
- 32:48Speaker 3: It's just best scoring.
- 32:49Speaker 4: So if there's a situation you kind of mentioned golf
- 32:52Speaker 4: like a golfer doesn't want to watch the score, but
- 32:55Speaker 4: if he's down, he might know that he has to
- 32:57Speaker 4: pull something.
- 32:58Speaker 3: He he has to.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Make a shot that he would normally try. Maybe at
- 33:01Speaker 4: the end, is there a situation that, okay, we need
- 33:05Speaker 4: to score a certain amount? Is there is there something
- 33:07Speaker 4: that you would ever change in a routine, add something
- 33:11Speaker 4: to a routine because you know you need it, or
- 33:13Speaker 4: is it just no, you got to execute the routine
- 33:16Speaker 4: we practice every single time.
- 33:18Speaker 8: It would be highly unusual for me to do something
- 33:21Speaker 8: like that. I can I can only think of maybe
- 33:23Speaker 8: one time where that's been the case in thirty five years.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Of doing this.
- 33:27Speaker 8: The reality is they get into a rhythm and and
- 33:30Speaker 8: a routine, and everything in their mind at that point
- 33:33Speaker 8: is very choreographed, and they you know, they they've got
- 33:36Speaker 8: certain things they say to what themselves, They've got verbal
- 33:39Speaker 8: cues that they put themselves through, and for me to
- 33:42Speaker 8: disrupt that, you know, midstream most of the time, is
- 33:46Speaker 8: going to be a lot more detrimental than it is
- 33:47Speaker 8: going to be beneficial. So it's not something that that
- 33:50Speaker 8: you'll see us do very often. And in fact, you
- 33:53Speaker 8: know I tell them all the time, just let me
- 33:56Speaker 8: get pissed off at the judges. You don't worry about things.
- 33:59Speaker 8: You keep doing what you do and don't get distracted
- 34:01Speaker 8: by anything that I say or do you know that
- 34:04Speaker 8: in the course of a competition, we just have to
- 34:08Speaker 8: their their best approach is just going to be to
- 34:10Speaker 8: stay in there. Bell. There's certain kids that that can handle, uh,
- 34:14Speaker 8: you know, shifts in the environment, and then there's those
- 34:17Speaker 8: that really you just have to leave alone and let
- 34:19Speaker 8: them go into. You know, a couple of our kids
- 34:21Speaker 8: almost go into a kind of a catatonic, transical looking
- 34:25Speaker 8: uh state of mind before they go where they block
- 34:28Speaker 8: out everything and they don't hear what's going on around them.
- 34:30Speaker 8: It does you no good to talk to them because
- 34:32Speaker 8: they are they're dialed in and it's uh, it's it's
- 34:37Speaker 8: one of the one of the challenges of of my
- 34:39Speaker 8: job is to meet them where they are, because they're
- 34:41Speaker 8: all a little bit different that way. Some of them
- 34:43Speaker 8: want more inputs, some of them want zero inputs, and uh,
- 34:47Speaker 8: and you just got to be able to be able
- 34:48Speaker 8: to kind of read the moment with each one of
- 34:51Speaker 8: them and try to help them get where they.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Need to get.
- 34:53Speaker 4: Yeah, well said, I mean, everybody's a little bit different.
- 34:55Speaker 4: That's the mark of a good coach is to be
- 34:57Speaker 4: able to understand the mentality the psychology of your players.
- 35:01Speaker 4: And and you're and the girls on your team, and
- 35:03Speaker 4: certainly you got some you got some studs.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Your team is.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Full of a bunch of exeasonal language with a bunch
- 35:08Speaker 4: of badass women. Uh and All Americans came out recently
- 35:13Speaker 4: Lincoln All American, Unvault and Flora Connor McClain and even
- 35:16Speaker 4: bars Beam, Amari Drayden, Fault, kayle Chi basically everything.
- 35:21Speaker 3: What does it mean?
- 35:22Speaker 4: What does it mean to have studs like that on
- 35:26Speaker 4: your team that are just going out there every week?
- 35:29Speaker 3: You know?
- 35:29Speaker 8: It's uh, it's it's definitely a comfort to know that
- 35:33Speaker 8: you've got you've got and there's more than just them,
- 35:36Speaker 8: I mean, it's it's Our team is full of great competitors,
- 35:39Speaker 8: kids that are proven over time and time again that
- 35:42Speaker 8: uh that they have a level of consistency that can
- 35:45Speaker 8: be counted on over and over again. They rely on
- 35:48Speaker 8: each other, and those kids that are that that made
- 35:51Speaker 8: regular season All American would be the first to tell
- 35:53Speaker 8: you they don't do it without without their teammates setting
- 35:56Speaker 8: them up. So We've got a great group of kids.
- 35:58Speaker 8: I've got a credit Gar Griffiths spearheads are recruiting efforts.
- 36:02Speaker 8: He identifies the talent, but not only that, the personalities
- 36:05Speaker 8: that will fit here with the culture that we try
- 36:08Speaker 8: to create year over year here at LSU. And so
- 36:13Speaker 8: I'm just you know, I'm a I'm a blessed man
- 36:15Speaker 8: to have done this as long as I have.
- 36:17Speaker 2: But to be.
- 36:18Speaker 8: Surrounded by this caliber of young women day in and
- 36:20Speaker 8: day out that want to do things the right way
- 36:23Speaker 8: and represent this university the way they do is uh
- 36:26Speaker 8: is really a privilege and an honor for me coach.
- 36:29Speaker 4: What's been the best part about this team? Coaching this team?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Every team's got their own identity, their own personality, their
- 36:37Speaker 4: own DNA and you've had some good ones, of course,
- 36:40Speaker 4: But what's been the best part about being with these
- 36:44Speaker 4: ladies this year?
- 36:45Speaker 8: Well, I think they from the from the first meet,
- 36:48Speaker 8: they've they've demonstrated that they're fighters and that they they're
- 36:53Speaker 8: they're very proud of what they represent and a lot
- 36:56Speaker 8: of that goes back to what I just said, they
- 36:59Speaker 8: represent each other there. One of the things they've repeated
- 37:02Speaker 8: and that we repeat a lot, is that we honor
- 37:04Speaker 8: each other with our actions and not our words. And UH.
- 37:07Speaker 8: And they've they've spent a lot of time investing in
- 37:09Speaker 8: one another, uh, really growing their relationships outside of the gym, which,
- 37:14Speaker 8: as you guys know, UH, particularly in the more classic
- 37:17Speaker 8: team sports, is super important. That locker room, in the
- 37:19Speaker 8: chemistry that you can provide that you get is super
- 37:23Speaker 8: important to the success of a team. And it's and
- 37:25Speaker 8: believe it or not, it is in our sport too,
- 37:27Speaker 8: which which is seemingly an individual sport that that you
- 37:31Speaker 8: wouldn't think that matters a whole lot. It does. And
- 37:35Speaker 8: I've been part of teams that had no business thinking
- 37:37Speaker 8: they could win a championship and they did because of that.
- 37:40Speaker 8: And I've been part of teams that should have run
- 37:42Speaker 8: off and left everybody and didn't because they didn't have that.
- 37:46Speaker 8: And I'm just proud of this team for investing in
- 37:49Speaker 8: one another, spending the time with one another, getting to
- 37:51Speaker 8: know what makes each other tick, what are the possible
- 37:54Speaker 8: what are the things that could divide them so that
- 37:56Speaker 8: they don't and and that they've they really put on
- 37:59Speaker 8: a great effort into those relationships and prioritize one another
- 38:03Speaker 8: over outside things that that could get in the way,
- 38:06Speaker 8: so that that's one of the biggest things I'm proud of.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Well, I can tell you, for LSU fans, what y'all
- 38:11Speaker 4: do certainly does matter in this community.
- 38:13Speaker 3: It does.
- 38:13Speaker 4: I can tell you got two little girls that did gymnastics,
- 38:15Speaker 4: and there's about there are so many gymnastic places for
- 38:19Speaker 4: little girls to go in Baton Rouge, and I only
- 38:22Speaker 4: I can only contribute that to the success and the
- 38:24Speaker 4: popularity that your team has within this community. So it
- 38:27Speaker 4: certainly does matter. Coach, I wanted to ask you. I
- 38:31Speaker 4: asked this to Jay Johnson last week. Well, of course
- 38:35Speaker 4: there's a new coaching hire with the men's basketball team
- 38:39Speaker 4: gonna be playing in the same building where your team.
- 38:41Speaker 8: Some say it's a new hire, some.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Old I guess, yeah, yeah. But coach, what's it like
- 38:47Speaker 3: to coach a successful program at a school that cares
- 38:53Speaker 3: so much about the product that puts out on the
- 38:56Speaker 3: field or the court or the floor, and it does
- 39:00Speaker 3: all the resources and everything that it goes into it
- 39:03Speaker 3: will support you, guys and every single way. What does
- 39:05Speaker 3: it mean to be a coach here at LSU.
- 39:08Speaker 8: I can't think of I can't think of about it
- 39:10Speaker 8: I've done it, and I've only done it in two places,
- 39:13Speaker 8: and both of them in the conference Once. Once was
- 39:16Speaker 8: my album of honor. But I'm going to tell you
- 39:18Speaker 8: something right now, and I kind of echo what Will said.
- 39:22Speaker 8: You know, Louisiana and LSU is home for me now
- 39:24Speaker 8: and and it's different, you know, And I know that
- 39:28Speaker 8: Laye has coined that, and everybody's just talking about it's
- 39:31Speaker 8: just different. It that's maybe that's a catchphrase. Whatever, It's real,
- 39:37Speaker 8: and it's contagious. And the culture here drives that, and
- 39:42Speaker 8: the personalities of our coaches drive that. We're We're not
- 39:47Speaker 8: we're not always the easiest people. We're not the people
- 39:50Speaker 8: that you know our coaching. Our coaches here at LSU
- 39:52Speaker 8: don't take no for an answer very well, and we
- 39:56Speaker 8: attract that kind of personality. We're all fighters, we're all competitive,
- 39:59Speaker 8: we all all want to win, and we all take
- 40:01Speaker 8: a great deal of pride in what we do and
- 40:04Speaker 8: this university and this state and what it represents. And
- 40:08Speaker 8: it's just something that I think it's it's cyclical. If
- 40:11Speaker 8: it all feeds. I'm I'm I'm part of a sport
- 40:14Speaker 8: that you know, in most places doesn't get a whole
- 40:16Speaker 8: lot of attention, but it does here and uh, and
- 40:19Speaker 8: that's that's just an amazing testament to not only the
- 40:24Speaker 8: support that we have at l s U, but to
- 40:26Speaker 8: Louisiana and particularly South Louisiana as a whole.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 40:30Speaker 8: They're just supportive and they want, they want to they
- 40:33Speaker 8: want to be part of a winner, and and it's
- 40:35Speaker 8: it's it's an incredible situation to be a part of.
- 40:38Speaker 8: This is my last stop. I'm gonna retire here and uh,
- 40:42Speaker 8: and I'm excited about what this team is capable of
- 40:44Speaker 8: doing this weekend. But we need the fans to get
- 40:46Speaker 8: their butts in the seat. I can't say that too often.
- 40:49Speaker 3: That's right, Go get the butts in those seats. Good
- 40:51Speaker 3: to take us. Uh.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Thursday night, seven pm, l s U takes the floor
- 40:57Speaker 4: and then they advance. It will be Saturday at five pm.
- 41:01Speaker 4: So go get him in. Coach, I know exactly what
- 41:02Speaker 4: you're saying. I'm just a boy born and raised in
- 41:05Speaker 4: Texas and Louisiana's home now, so I completely get it.
- 41:08Speaker 3: And we appreciate the time. And good luck to your
- 41:10Speaker 3: ladies and.
- 41:12Speaker 8: Go kick some butt, all right, guys, I appreciate you
- 41:14Speaker 8: all having us all take care.
- 41:15Speaker 4: All right, thanks coach. All right, there he is Jay Clark.

- 41:36Speaker 3: Get loud.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Cheer those lady Tigers on to victory as they chase
- 41:41Speaker 4: down a national championship.
