- 0:18Speaker 1: Team Six. The haters are going to celebrate. We got
- 0:24Speaker 1: to keep it under an hour today. Phoenix is going
- 0:26Speaker 1: to love this set. We have to keep it under
- 0:29Speaker 1: an hour today. I will say right off the top,
- 0:32Speaker 1: if you have little ones at home, like I have,
- 0:35Speaker 1: Rue is four. Scotty is about to turn two. And
- 0:40Speaker 1: like the last week, I feel like I've crawled in
- 0:42Speaker 1: bed each night. My wife and I kind of just
- 0:44Speaker 1: talk about how we wish that they could stay this small.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And if you have that, cherish it. Thank you. Which
- 0:55Speaker 1: movie am I thinking of? Happy Gilmore? No, no, not
- 0:57Speaker 1: Happy Gilmore. Billy Madison. You cherish it. It is Tuesday
- 1:09Speaker 1: morning right now. If you guys are a fan of
- 1:11Speaker 1: Sean Ryan, he was just on Bustin' with the Boys.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We have no relational tie here, but Rex Ryan on
- 1:18Speaker 1: the show here and a little bit on Bustin' with
- 1:19Speaker 1: the Boys. So that is why we're getting, you know,
- 1:23Speaker 1: That is why the haters are going to be dancing
- 1:24Speaker 1: on our grave, because we potentially have to keep this
- 1:26Speaker 1: one under an hour.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And guys, we're talking about keeping this one under an hour. Yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 2: we really are. We're not saying, hey, keep it under
- 1:34Speaker 2: an hour. We're keeping it under an hour. I got
- 1:38Speaker 2: a few follow-ups from last week's Sode. And by the way, Sherm,
- 1:41Speaker 2: cherish it. Cherish it.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:45Speaker 1: A little scar, scar.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Cherish it. Especially when she gets around that two mark
- 1:49Speaker 1: like where Scottie is. See if you can freeze her
- 1:51Speaker 1: in time. Like that is, Rue's getting too big and just, dude,
- 1:55Speaker 1: it makes me sad. And she's like, Dada, you're going
- 1:58Speaker 1: to come up and scratch my back. I'm like, I'm
- 2:00Speaker 1: going to come up and scratch your back. And all
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm thinking about is she's standing at the top of
- 2:02Speaker 1: the stairs. And she's just this beautiful little girl that's
- 2:05Speaker 1: growing up. And I'm just like, you just ain't going
- 2:07Speaker 1: to be that way when you get older. You're not
- 2:10Speaker 1: going to be wanting Dada to come up and scratch
- 2:12Speaker 1: your back. You're going to be like, oh, fucking dad.
- 2:14Speaker 1: He's going to try and come scratch my back again
- 2:16Speaker 1: and talk about how he always used to do it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I got to kind of go along with it. Like,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I just want to text my friends or hang out.
- 2:23Speaker 2: He's going to tell me about the Big 12 championship
- 2:25Speaker 2: against Texas. And if Matt Brown was full of shit,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that one second, he's going to tell me about it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Oh, cherish it, man. The laundry hack is top tier.
- 2:32Speaker 1: This is from Swaggy Trees. The laundry hack last week
- 2:35Speaker 1: is top tier. Laugh out loud. Always doing that during
- 2:37Speaker 1: ball games. You fold your laundry while you watch football games.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It truly is a dad hack that is reoccurring on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the show. I have Ty Gorman, GBR on YouTube. He says,
- 2:50Speaker 1: might use my PTO if there's a Clay Matthews episode.
- 2:54Speaker 1: gbr big words from a big man gbr is in
- 2:56Speaker 1: hell right now i'm calling bullshit this from benjamin mole
- 3:00Speaker 1: i'm calling bullshit sherm spent all night on that shirt
- 3:04Speaker 1: told scarlet get your own hoodie every time she got close.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Oh benjamin benjamin.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You scribble on the pumpkin hoodie last.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Week okay yeah maybe i did bring it home and
- 3:13Speaker 2: maybe i did think hey i don't want my daughter
- 3:15Speaker 2: to touch this with a 10 foot pole she's got
- 3:17Speaker 2: hand foot mouth Bobby Wolf, the 6892 on YouTube says,
- 3:24Speaker 2: why does Chef Santa voice sound like Cronk trying to
- 3:26Speaker 2: do a Cronk impression? Chef is the goat. That comes
- 3:31Speaker 2: from Bobby Wolf?
- 3:31Speaker 1: You are the goat, Chef.
- 3:32Speaker 5: You are the goat. Thanks, guys.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Boys, this is from Firestein J underscore on YouTube. Fearstein.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Who knows? Boys, let me put you on some game
- 3:39Speaker 1: courtesy of my wife. Hair tie cutters. It's a hook-shaped
- 3:43Speaker 1: tool that lets you cut microscopic rubber hair ties that
- 3:46Speaker 1: totally alleviates hair The hassle of scalping your precious daughters.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Fellow girl, dad of a five- and three-year-old. Love the pod,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and you guys always have me rolling. Thanks for the
- 3:55Speaker 1: great outlet. Go Big Red. Oh, this was— when did you
- 3:59Speaker 1: print these out? Yesterday. Two days ago?
- 4:03Speaker 5: Yesterday?
- 4:04Speaker 1: It would have been Saturday before the game took place.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Because he's yelling, go Big Red right now. I know
- 4:08Speaker 1: he's in hell. And I know he's sitting there with
- 4:09Speaker 1: a five- and three-year-old like, yes, we have to freeze
- 4:11Speaker 1: him in time. We have to cherish it forever.
- 4:15Speaker 2: This goes to Preston Stalvey, GBR no matter what, on YouTube.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Oscars are in hell right now.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We're just hitting GBRs.
- 4:30Speaker 2: For my dad.
- 4:31Speaker 5: How long ago was that one?
- 4:33Speaker 2: It doesn't say it.
- 4:35Speaker 4: It does.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It does up next to the name. Great.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Top of the paragraph. Preston Stalvey.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Two days ago.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Two days ago. I think it doesn't say it. I
- 4:46Speaker 2: made it up. I made it up. The date's right there, Sherman.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I got you up before the Huskies came to town.
- 4:55Speaker 2: GBR no matter what, man. Preston says, for my dad
- 4:59Speaker 2: with the bullying situation as the coach of the team,
- 5:02Speaker 2: it sounds like some privileges should be taken away from
- 5:05Speaker 2: the bullying kid if he can't respect his teammates off
- 5:08Speaker 2: the field. Just like in any sport, the coach sits
- 5:11Speaker 2: that guy down and says, hey, sorry, you're off the
- 5:14Speaker 2: team for a week. We're going to suspend you because
- 5:17Speaker 2: of your behavior. I don't think that's a bad idea
- 5:19Speaker 2: to look the kid's parents in the eyes and say, hey,
- 5:22Speaker 2: little Jimmy's going to sit out a week until his
- 5:24Speaker 2: actions are corrected because we're a team and we don't
- 5:27Speaker 2: bully each other. That's from Preston Stalvey.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I will say some APR for my wife. She said
- 5:34Speaker 1: you nailed it. Oh, really? Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Really? Yeah. Thank you, Charo.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Just coaching your own. Like coaching your own. You can't
- 5:43Speaker 1: worry about how everybody else is going to respond and
- 5:45Speaker 1: react to you. You can only worry about how you
- 5:48Speaker 1: handle yourself. Your own attitude and effort.
- 5:51Speaker 2: With my quarantine suit on, I still wouldn't do it.
- 5:56Speaker 2: But I really would shake Charo's hand. That meant something
- 6:00Speaker 2: right there. Thank you, Charo. Those were kind words.
- 6:03Speaker 1: That was some more late night pillow talk.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Really?
- 6:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Okay.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I was going to see you guys break down bullion.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Look at us.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Doing some dad shit.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, doing some dad shit.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Good soad.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Good soad.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Good soad.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Okay, so do we want to do Adamant or what
- 6:17Speaker 2: are we?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Look at you.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Chef, you got chef.
- 6:22Speaker 4: As I'm like battling sickness, I'm like just trying to
- 6:24Speaker 4: stay alive. You're sick too, chef?
- 6:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You don't have time to be sick, man.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Don't have time to be sick. That's why I'm here.
- 6:31Speaker 2: We do have an extra suit on the other side
- 6:33Speaker 2: if needed. You do not have to put it on,
- 6:36Speaker 2: but I'm just putting it out there.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And for anybody new that has joined just this week,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I know we read follow-ups there from last week's episode. Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 1: The reason for doing that is because this is what
- 6:48Speaker 1: this show is all about. This show is all about community.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It's all about Papa Team 6, Milk Team 6. You
- 6:54Speaker 1: see people writing in and commenting. We love featuring everybody
- 6:57Speaker 1: on the show because everybody else helps us out as
- 7:00Speaker 1: much as everybody's like, oh, I get so much from
- 7:01Speaker 1: this podcast. We feel unworthy even doing that because we
- 7:05Speaker 1: know we're not qualified all the time. Nobody is. Nobody
- 7:08Speaker 1: has all the answers. But that is what this show
- 7:10Speaker 1: is about. We read follow-ups. We talk about dad hacks, wins, losses,
- 7:14Speaker 1: the highs and lows of fatherhood, marriage. Sometimes we vent.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Sometimes we vent. Sometimes we give out fun coupons. This
- 7:21Speaker 1: is a fun little show. Okay.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Hey, and if you don't like it, you don't have
- 7:27Speaker 2: to listen. But if you especially don't like it when
- 7:30Speaker 2: we go under an hour, you're really not going to
- 7:32Speaker 2: want to listen to this episode. I just want to
- 7:33Speaker 2: put it out there.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, there's been a theme. Yeah, if you're newer, it's
- 7:37Speaker 1: not like we allude to it all the time. It
- 7:40Speaker 1: was like this running joke, we got to keep it
- 7:42Speaker 1: under an hour. And everybody yells, everybody in the comments,
- 7:44Speaker 1: can't keep it under an hour, can't keep it under
- 7:46Speaker 1: an hour. We never truly have. We tried to, but
- 7:49Speaker 1: this episode, the haters are going to win. because we're
- 7:53Speaker 1: going to have to keep it under an hour.
- 7:54Speaker 2: They're going to win and shout out to one of my, uh,
- 7:57Speaker 2: my back in the day friends, Daniel that listens to
- 8:00Speaker 2: the show. He told me favorite bit is when we
- 8:03Speaker 2: have a long winded comment and you end, got to
- 8:06Speaker 2: keep it under an hour. God, he said, he said
- 8:08Speaker 2: he laughs every time we hit the gong on.
- 8:11Speaker 1: This show too.
- 8:12Speaker 2: We do dude.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And just make sure, even if you're not new here,
- 8:16Speaker 1: just make sure that you are subscribed to the channel
- 8:18Speaker 1: helps the boys out tremendously. Um, What do we got here? Dude,
- 8:23Speaker 1: it was Halloween weekend. You have, you got something going
- 8:26Speaker 1: on right now, but you have this suit on. Yes. Scar, scar.
- 8:30Speaker 1: We got a little HMF.
- 8:32Speaker 2: We got a little hand, foot, mouth, and Casa de
- 8:34Speaker 2: Young going on right now. Unbeknownst to us, she was
- 8:38Speaker 2: not showing any signs as far as the heavy coughing, fever-
- 8:44Speaker 2: the sores that usually appear on the hands and the
- 8:47Speaker 2: foot in the mouth. That's the name. Uh, we went
- 8:53Speaker 2: to Chicago for a wedding. I'll talk about that a
- 8:57Speaker 2: little bit. My crack a cold one. We're more in
- 8:59Speaker 2: the dad loss section of this story. Uh, we come
- 9:02Speaker 2: home on Sunday night and Scarlett, you can just see
- 9:07Speaker 2: it in their eyes. You know, when, when a kid's
- 9:10Speaker 2: really sick and it's like, they're not sleepy.
- 9:14Speaker 1: They look sick. They just want to cuddle.
- 9:16Speaker 2: They just want to cuddle.
- 9:18Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 9:19Speaker 2: They look like a little monkey, like, hugging a tree
- 9:22Speaker 2: limb type of cuddling. Like, it's a full-on come here. Like,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I'm hurting. And she's doing that to mom and dad. One,
- 9:29Speaker 2: she's excited that we're home. But two, she's hurting. And
- 9:34Speaker 2: Jill gets the thermometer on her. She's at, like, 101.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And we notice a little bump on the lip right there.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That's the only outer thing that she has. Shout out
- 9:48Speaker 2: to the apparatus that we have here at Bustin' with
- 9:52Speaker 2: the Boys because Jill was not able to take off
- 9:55Speaker 2: on Monday. It's a clinic day for her. She works
- 9:57Speaker 2: at the uh burn clinic at vanderbilt uh pediatric And
- 10:02Speaker 2: I let you know, I let Jeremy know, and a
- 10:06Speaker 2: couple others, obviously our guys here on this For the
- 10:09Speaker 2: Dads team, that I'm going to have to be daddy
- 10:14Speaker 2: daycare tomorrow at home.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Because the initial plan was to shoot For the Dads
- 10:18Speaker 1: on Monday, to squeeze it in on Monday because of
- 10:21Speaker 1: the scheduling taking place this week.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And trying to zoom in. And apologies if you hear
- 10:26Speaker 2: ripping in the background. I'm trying to vent the back
- 10:28Speaker 2: of this quarantine suit because it's so hot.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I'm sweating. You'll get out of it here in about
- 10:34Speaker 2: an hour. Oh, maybe even 45.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Pretty soon. Um, and it was, dude, it was just,
- 10:43Speaker 2: it was a dad loss, but it was such a
- 10:45Speaker 2: dad win the way that we were able to attack
- 10:48Speaker 2: the hand, foot, mouth. I reach out to the shop.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Shop's cool with me doing daddy daycare. Jill is like,
- 10:56Speaker 2: I need you to step up right here, husband, and
- 10:59Speaker 2: take care of our sick daughter and, And a part
- 11:02Speaker 2: of me is thinking about how busy our Mondays are
- 11:05Speaker 2: because that's probably my busiest day aside from Tuesdays. Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And I'm sitting there with my work brain just thinking
- 11:12Speaker 2: about I'm going to be letting so-and-so down. I'm going
- 11:13Speaker 2: to be letting so-and-so down. And I could see Jill's
- 11:16Speaker 2: face as she sees my wheels spinning of her basically saying,
- 11:20Speaker 2: I need you in this moment. And her kind of seeing, oh,
- 11:23Speaker 2: he's thinking about it on whether or not he can
- 11:26Speaker 2: take off. And in that moment, I said, you know what, honey?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I'm going to be home with Scarlett. Let me go
- 11:32Speaker 2: make some phone calls, shoot some texts out. Everything's going
- 11:36Speaker 2: to be OK. Let's go ahead and get a doctor's
- 11:38Speaker 2: appointment going. She's like, hey, you know, doctor can only
- 11:42Speaker 2: do two o'clock, which is when we are going to
- 11:45Speaker 2: record for the dads. I said, honey, that's the only
- 11:49Speaker 2: thing that won't work because I'm going to be doing
- 11:51Speaker 2: a Zoom call for for the dads episode. Is there
- 11:53Speaker 2: anything earlier? And she said, with another doctor, we can
- 11:56Speaker 2: do 1120. I said, perfect.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Ben Johnson, creativity on offense. Come on.
- 12:04Speaker 2: And she goes, honey, here's what you need to do.
- 12:08Speaker 2: She's going to need a lot of snacks. This is
- 12:10Speaker 2: before we knew it was hand, foot, mouth. She's going
- 12:12Speaker 2: to need a lot of snacks. She's going to need
- 12:13Speaker 2: a lunch. She's going to need some of her toys,
- 12:16Speaker 2: some diapers. I don't have time to pack that stuff.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I've already left the house. Do you mind doing it?
- 12:23Speaker 2: I got it. I get the diaper bag. I went
- 12:25Speaker 2: and got her cutesy TikTok date. That's actually my dad
- 12:28Speaker 2: hack is these snack boxes. They look like those little
- 12:31Speaker 2: bento boxes that you get at a Japanese restaurant.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 2: It's all segmented out. We got this big old thing.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I'm chalking it up with goldfish and all of her
- 12:41Speaker 2: favorite little stuff. Pack that up. Get everything ready for
- 12:46Speaker 2: the doctor's appointment. Show up to the doctor's appointment 20
- 12:49Speaker 2: minutes early.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Check in. I see you with that chest out.
- 12:54Speaker 2: What's your daughter's date of birth? That would be July 3rd, 2025.
- 12:57Speaker 2: First and last, hit her with that as well. I
- 13:04Speaker 2: go to the waiting area because that's a big quiz.
- 13:07Speaker 2: The daughter's date of birth and the daughter's doctor's name.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Those are the two heavy hitters when mom's not around.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 2: And I'm telling myself, Jill didn't even warn me about that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm on a dad podcast. These are the, that's the
- 13:23Speaker 2: crowd noise that's going on in my head. What's that?
- 13:28Speaker 1: What's that fucking doctor's name? What's that fucking name?
- 13:31Speaker 2: I know she's got the same first name as Jill,
- 13:33Speaker 2: so we're good there. Her name is Jill. But what
- 13:37Speaker 2: is that last name?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Coach, can you give me the list of docs in-house?
- 13:42Speaker 1: If I see it, I'll know it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: And I know that I'm going to a doctor that's
- 13:47Speaker 2: not our usual doctor. And I know that she's going
- 13:50Speaker 2: to ask, who's your primary care physician? Who is a usually?
- 13:56Speaker 2: And I'm sitting in that little waiting room. I got
- 13:58Speaker 2: the snacks going. I'm just feeding Scarlett. And she's downing
- 14:02Speaker 2: these Ritz crackers and goldfish. And she's got high spirits
- 14:06Speaker 2: for being a sicky girl. And we get her back there.
- 14:10Speaker 2: And we really weren't thinking hand, foot, mouth because there
- 14:13Speaker 2: weren't all the signs. And doctor walks in, hits me with,
- 14:19Speaker 2: who's the usual, you know, who's your doc? I said, well,
- 14:23Speaker 2: her first name's Jill. And I believe it's Steigel. And
- 14:28Speaker 2: I get like the first part of it. She goes, oh, Steigelfest.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I go, exactly.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Exactly. You nailed it. Coach, the people out front promised
- 14:37Speaker 1: me a list. If you just give me that list,
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'll dial it in.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Then I'll be good.
- 14:42Speaker 2: She goes, and what's Scarlett's date of birth? I said,
- 14:44Speaker 2: July 3rd, 2025. Again, very proud that I knew that.
- 14:48Speaker 2: And she said, good job, dad. Those were some big words.
- 14:54Speaker 2: That actually got me kind of juiced. I'm sitting there
- 14:57Speaker 2: with the snacks on the little sick bed thing before
- 14:59Speaker 2: they're checking her. She was like, dad, I'm going to
- 15:02Speaker 2: need your help a lot. Kind of distracting her and
- 15:05Speaker 2: keeping her engaged, whatever. The 15 to 17 month mark
- 15:10Speaker 2: is usually when the kiddos are really scared of us.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I'm thinking about the doctor set that we have back
- 15:16Speaker 2: at the house that Jill bought for Scarlett. I'm like, oh,
- 15:19Speaker 2: there's all these noises that we do with the certain toys.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I'll make those same noises when she puts the stethoscope
- 15:25Speaker 2: on Scarlett.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And I'll be doing the....
- 15:30Speaker 2: Because that makes Scarlett kind of smile and laugh. works
- 15:35Speaker 2: like a charm dude she gets the ear thing out
- 15:37Speaker 2: and i'm showing her that has a light just like
- 15:39Speaker 2: her ear thing at home scarlet's loving it it's a
- 15:44Speaker 2: home game it's a home game dude everything's like going
- 15:48Speaker 2: my way in a situation that really really sucked granted
- 15:53Speaker 2: jill prepped me a ton for the situation but it
- 15:57Speaker 2: was a good feeling pulling out of that uh of
- 16:02Speaker 2: that doctor's appointment. Now, we did get a bad diagnosis
- 16:05Speaker 2: of hand-foot-mouth. We weren't happy about that.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It happens.
- 16:08Speaker 2: It happens, right? No more kissies on the mouth for
- 16:12Speaker 2: a little scar-scar for a minute. She'll be out from daycare.
- 16:15Speaker 2: She's on IR.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Short-term IR.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Short-term IR. Just two days without fever, and then she's
- 16:22Speaker 2: back in. I'm trying to think what else.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Oh, huge.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Okay, so this was actually really cool. The doctor was like,
- 16:31Speaker 2: has she been eating those Ritz crackers and goldfish all day?
- 16:34Speaker 1: I was like, yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 2: She was like, her mouth is filled with sores. I'm
- 16:39Speaker 2: surprised she's eating those like hard foods. Like that's actually
- 16:42Speaker 2: kind of impressive that she's doing that. I get, I've
- 16:45Speaker 2: looked at scar scars.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Hell yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yo coach, he's a dog.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's like, hell yeah. Hey, I say, Hey doc, watch this.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I gave her another goldfish. She down one right there
- 16:55Speaker 2: in front of the doc.
- 16:57Speaker 5: I swear.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Um yeah hand foot mouth that's tough and you were
- 17:02Speaker 1: saying you caught it on the or it was kind
- 17:03Speaker 1: of caught on the tail end so you weren't even
- 17:05Speaker 1: really getting the signs.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah and that's what the doctor was saying she she
- 17:08Speaker 2: thinks that scarlet is coming off of the hand foot
- 17:11Speaker 2: mouth has probably had it over the last seven.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Days probably going around the daycare big time yeah that's
- 17:17Speaker 1: how it happened with the with the like rue yeah
- 17:20Speaker 1: and we just we hit up daycare and let them
- 17:22Speaker 1: know oh get closer yes please absolutely yes sir uh We.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Let the daycare know. And yeah, I mean, she's handled
- 17:32Speaker 2: it like a champ. She did not sleep well last night.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And now Jilly Bean's at home dealing with a sick
- 17:38Speaker 2: scar scar. So she's able to work from home for
- 17:40Speaker 2: the next three days. But we're fighting, man. We're getting
- 17:44Speaker 2: through it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: That's good.
- 17:47Speaker 5: That's good.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I'm just I'm thinking of my PTSD from hand, foot, mouth.
- 17:51Speaker 2: You had it like or y'all's house had it like.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Three or four times in a short span. And I
- 17:57Speaker 1: made the mistake of posting about it.
- 17:59Speaker 2: I forgot about the wedding.
- 18:03Speaker 1: We took Scottie to the wedding. And the next thing
- 18:06Speaker 1: you know, next week I'm on People Magazine. Hey.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Silver lining? You were in People Magazine.
- 18:16Speaker 1: No doubt. And people don't get, like, we're at a
- 18:20Speaker 1: wedding in Bonne Terre. If you listen to the locker room,
- 18:23Speaker 1: go listen to the stories of the chat dump. Like,
- 18:26Speaker 1: people are built around the chat dump in that place.
- 18:28Speaker 1: There ain't no hand, foot, mouth that's infecting anywhere in
- 18:31Speaker 1: Bonne Terre, Missouri.
- 18:33Speaker 2: You rubbed some dirt on some hand, foot, mouth. We
- 18:36Speaker 2: were around people with lead poisoning, man.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Come on.
- 18:41Speaker 2: What did the article say? It said beloved mouth. Something
- 18:45Speaker 2: like that. It was like local beloved mouth.
- 18:50Speaker 1: In mining town. God, we had lead in our yard.
- 18:54Speaker 1: And I'm learning about Bontero. I'm learning about the Chad
- 18:57Speaker 1: dump like in real time last week.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I got people from back home hitting me up after
- 19:03Speaker 1: that clip went out. My old athletic director, friends, laughing about, yo,
- 19:08Speaker 1: this chat dump was literally essentially in the backyard of
- 19:12Speaker 1: an elementary school.
- 19:13Speaker 2: It was a local landmark. Yeah. It was like a
- 19:16Speaker 2: field trip if you go to the chat dump. Would
- 19:19Speaker 2: the kids sneak in there and climb on it and stuff?
- 19:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Dude, the boys, I'd have friends at the house, and
- 19:28Speaker 1: every now and then on days, they'd be like, yo,
- 19:29Speaker 1: let's go climb the chat dump. You go out the
- 19:31Speaker 1: front door, cross the street, cross the creek, and you
- 19:34Speaker 1: are there to climb the Chad Dump. Oh, no. You
- 19:37Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:40Speaker 1: You don't know any better, man.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Hey, we're just having a little bit of fun, man.
- 19:43Speaker 2: We're just trying to have some fun.
- 19:45Speaker 1: We don't got much. We got a chat dump. And
- 19:47Speaker 1: we're going to climb that motherfucker, dude.
- 19:49Speaker 2: We don't have snow hills to go sledding on. We
- 19:51Speaker 2: got a chat dump.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Did you sled down the chat dump?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: You have snow on it.
- 19:58Speaker 1: You get to go.
- 19:59Speaker 2: You get a cookie sheet, some aluminum foil, and man,
- 20:01Speaker 2: you're flying down that thing, man.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And learning that it's like the chat dump is... Filled with,
- 20:08Speaker 1: what is it, lead, zinc, sulfite.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Good stuff.
- 20:13Speaker 2: The good stuff, man. The Holy Trinity, some would say.
- 20:20Speaker 1: The old athletic director, his dad, the AD's dad, was like,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I think Mike Leach at Texas Tech, Tom Osborne at Nebraska,
- 20:33Speaker 1: Nick Saban at Bama. He's been the legend at North
- 20:37Speaker 1: County when we had our better years, like when we
- 20:39Speaker 1: went to state.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Does he have any roads named after him? Are there
- 20:42Speaker 2: any streets?
- 20:43Speaker 5: I believe so.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Anyway, he would have the athletic director. He hits me
- 20:49Speaker 1: up and he's like, my dad had me do the
- 20:50Speaker 1: same thing. Because Coach Haug sometimes would have the team
- 20:54Speaker 1: doing sprints at the Chad Dome. PC Sickos.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We interrupt this episode to bring you our proud sponsors,

- 22:36Speaker 2: that I'll add to that. Make sure you hide in

- 22:44Speaker 2: Hide that in the trash. Bury it with a little
- 22:46Speaker 2: bit of paper towel. That's how I got caught. Otherwise,

- 22:52Speaker 2: Kevin's is the move. They've got flavors like Thai-style coconut chicken.

- 23:14Speaker 2: their entrees in the refrigerated aisle. at your local grocery store.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Bro, there's just no, like, yeah, I don't know. You
- 23:23Speaker 1: don't know no different. All you know is this. Hard
- 23:26Speaker 1: can work, man.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Yeah, man.
- 23:28Speaker 1: There's a hill right there that we can sprint up.
- 23:30Speaker 1: We're going to go build men.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And what's that hill made out of?
- 23:33Speaker 1: Metal.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And iron sharpens iron, boys. We're going to get up
- 23:39Speaker 2: on the chat tub.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Oh.
- 23:43Speaker 1: We're worried about no lead poison. We're worried about winning.
- 23:47Speaker 2: And if I was a parent in Bonterre, and my
- 23:49Speaker 2: daughter did have hand, foot, mouth, you know I'd have
- 23:52Speaker 2: her out on the chat dump.
- 23:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 1: It'll nip that in the butt right away.
- 23:56Speaker 2: She's good. You're born with hand, foot, mouth in Bonterre.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I love that I called Will yesterday, and I said, hey, Will,
- 24:09Speaker 2: Scarlett does have hand, foot, mouth. I want to run
- 24:11Speaker 2: this by you. I want to run it by.
- 24:16Speaker 2: You know, Taylor and Jeremy, who also have kids, just
- 24:20Speaker 2: make people aware of this so that my coming to
- 24:23Speaker 2: the office tomorrow isn't, you know, met with, hey, what
- 24:28Speaker 2: the hell is this guy doing? And Will on the
- 24:30Speaker 2: phone just goes, hey, sure. Hey, you know me, man.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Come on. Hey, we good, man.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Not only that, it was my fault.
- 24:40Speaker 1: You know I'm backcountry, man. Ain't nobody worried about no hands.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Adults can rarely even get it. Just wash your hands, man.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Maybe we don't dab for a couple days.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Sherm, not only that, because I was the one that
- 24:53Speaker 4: handed him the phone to be like, hey, can you
- 24:55Speaker 4: talk to Sherm? Sherm's like, I should probably clear this
- 24:57Speaker 4: with Will. And in the back of my head, I'm thinking,
- 24:59Speaker 4: I guess. And so I handed it to Will the
- 25:01Speaker 4: whole time. As Will's like, you're talking about like, I
- 25:03Speaker 4: just want to make sure everyone's comfortable. Will's kind of
- 25:05Speaker 4: giving me a look. So like, you know, kind of like.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I'm sure it's fine.
- 25:09Speaker 5: You know, kind of give me the look of like,
- 25:11Speaker 5: I don't think this is a big deal at all.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. You know me, man.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You want to play, you can play.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And thus, and now we're here.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Now we're here. Now we're here.
- 25:24Speaker 2: So that was my dad loss, my super speed dad loss.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 2: We got to get rolling. We have to get rolling.
- 25:31Speaker 2: We're halfway through the episode right now.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Halloween. A time was had.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Will, I want the full breakdown. I know we got
- 25:40Speaker 2: to keep it under an hour. I want the full breakdown. Okay,
- 25:43Speaker 2: I'll give you an under an hour Cliff Notes breakdown.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Okay, okay.
- 25:47Speaker 1: My wife, Charo, murdered the costumes.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Insane.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We went as where the wild things are. Yeah. Rue
- 25:54Speaker 1: was Max. Scotty was like the wolf or whatever. Charo
- 25:58Speaker 1: and I were a couple of the wild things, the monsters.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yep.
- 26:03Speaker 1: We are getting compliments left and right. parents are like
- 26:06Speaker 1: oh my gosh who made these i'm thinking i just
- 26:09Speaker 1: looked at her i'm like hey you really kind of
- 26:11Speaker 1: crushed these costumes yeah she's like i was trying to
- 26:13Speaker 1: tell you like been crushing yeah been crushed where the
- 26:16Speaker 1: wild things are is popular and i'm thinking to myself
- 26:18Speaker 1: i i knew it was popular i didn't know it
- 26:20Speaker 1: was like that popular like the book has no substance
- 26:24Speaker 1: yeah the movie sucks yeah like i didn't know it
- 26:27Speaker 1: was that pop like kids like 10 year olds yo
- 26:31Speaker 1: where the wild things are like those are sick costumes
- 26:33Speaker 1: i'm thinking damn we're kind of just like In the
- 26:36Speaker 1: mix right now. We're nice with it. We are nice
- 26:38Speaker 1: with it. Fully homemade. Charo knocked it out of the park.
- 26:41Speaker 1: All the big, all the stuff. It was cardboard, paper, mouchet.
- 26:45Speaker 1: She's painting. Rue got to paint a little bit. But
- 26:49Speaker 1: Charo's painting. Charo's doing all of it. Until we get
- 26:52Speaker 1: to Halloween.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And then it's, hey, Will, could you maybe cut zigzags?
- 26:57Speaker 1: Like some of the pants?
- 26:59Speaker 2: No. Like some of the felt and everything else?
- 27:00Speaker 5: You did the pants?
- 27:02Speaker 1: I did the pants. Come on. What's the word? Reluctantly.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I was reluctant to do the pants.
- 27:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 2: But the pants look good. I remember that vividly.
- 27:12Speaker 1: That was your boy cutting those zigzags.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Because then I'm thinking, like, I thought you were going
- 27:16Speaker 1: to do the homemade costumes. Like, that was the whole, hey,
- 27:19Speaker 1: you want to do homemade costumes? You can do them. Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You know me. I'm purchased.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Let's buy something, put them on, and rock. Now I'm
- 27:27Speaker 2: doing the costumes. If I'm making homemade queso, I don't
- 27:30Speaker 2: expect you to stir the bowl, right? Because I'm making
- 27:32Speaker 2: the homemade queso. Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Exactly. Like, I want to give Charo all the credit
- 27:38Speaker 1: for doing the homemade costumes of where the wild things are,
- 27:41Speaker 1: but now she has to share it with me. Like,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I made those costumes too.
- 27:46Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Which is a shame. That's
- 27:48Speaker 2: a shame for Charo. I would hate that for Charo.
- 27:51Speaker 2: It's like when she's cooking dinner, she needs me to
- 27:53Speaker 2: cut a cucumber. Oh, so I need to make dinner now. Oh,
- 27:56Speaker 2: so we made dinner tonight. We made dinner together. I
- 27:59Speaker 2: would hate to steal that from you, honey. I want
- 28:03Speaker 2: you to get all the flour.
- 28:04Speaker 1: You fucked up. What would happen? I'm making dinner now.
- 28:07Speaker 1: That's what. This chili is now mine. This onion I
- 28:13Speaker 1: just cut, I made the chili.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I can just see your dad in the living room
- 28:18Speaker 2: overhearing this conversation. He's watching TV with Back to the Kitchen.
- 28:21Speaker 2: And when you say that, you just go.
- 28:29Speaker 2: That's exactly what would happen. Kids got it. Kids got it, man.
- 28:34Speaker 2: That's my boy. That's my son in there. Holding his spitter.
- 28:41Speaker 2: There you go, kiddo.
- 28:44Speaker 1: But it was awesome. Charles had it all mapped out.
- 28:47Speaker 1: She knew this little spot on the road that we
- 28:51Speaker 1: were driving to go to trick-or-treating. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 1: She had this little spot on the road she wanted
- 28:55Speaker 1: to stop that had trees so we could get the photo.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Map it out. You see Scottie in there. She's got
- 29:01Speaker 1: the hands up.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Like rocking.
- 29:04Speaker 5: She was.
- 29:05Speaker 1: She was dialed in. She handled the costume very well. Bro, Scottie,
- 29:12Speaker 1: there was no rookie year in Halloween, during Halloween, during trick-or-treating.
- 29:18Speaker 1: There was no rookie year for Scottie Jolie. I'm talking
- 29:23Speaker 1: a five-year vet was operating. Zero nerves. Zero, somebody walk
- 29:29Speaker 1: with me. No, she was ready to go right out
- 29:33Speaker 1: of the gate. I'm talking hand her the ball, and
- 29:36Speaker 1: you're going to get four or five a pop every play.
- 29:39Speaker 1: She goes up. tick a teat She gets the candy.
- 29:43Speaker 1: And you know what I'm telling her? I'm like, say
- 29:44Speaker 1: thank you. She's like, thank you. And the person might say,
- 29:47Speaker 1: happy Halloween. She echoes it back to him as she's
- 29:50Speaker 1: walking off. And she knows the deal. She's thinking, I'm
- 29:52Speaker 1: going to take one. Yeah. And like, oh, you can
- 29:54Speaker 1: grab two.
- 29:54Speaker 5: You can grab two.
- 29:55Speaker 1: She's already about her business to walk away. And you
- 29:57Speaker 1: got to remind her, hey, you can actually grab two here.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 1: She'll get another one. Doesn't make a whole lot of
- 30:01Speaker 1: eye contact because she's about the business of getting the candy.
- 30:04Speaker 2: We're working here, Dad.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We're working. Rue, her rookie year, and she still kind
- 30:09Speaker 1: of got it. Like once Halloween was here and we
- 30:11Speaker 1: were about– We were dressed and we were about to
- 30:13Speaker 1: go trick-or-treating. Yeah. Rue was already starting to say, I
- 30:15Speaker 1: don't know if I want to trick-or-treat. You could just
- 30:17Speaker 1: tell there's a little bit more shyness, a little bit
- 30:19Speaker 1: more that are you going to walk up with me
- 30:21Speaker 1: and help me out? And it's like, dude, I got you.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I just knew. I'm like, I bet Scottie balls. And
- 30:27Speaker 1: bald she did, bro. Now Rue, she sees Scottie. She
- 30:32Speaker 1: sees that energy. Yeah. And now Rue's kind of running
- 30:35Speaker 1: across the street ready to go. Dad, let's go to
- 30:37Speaker 1: this one. Like Rue was dialed too, but Rue's four.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Like Scottie not being two yet. Like there was just,
- 30:44Speaker 1: there was no, I don't know what to do here.
- 30:47Speaker 1: It was just tell me the call and I'll go
- 30:49Speaker 1: make it happen.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Scottie is the rookie on the team that's elevating an
- 30:55Speaker 2: already winning tradition that you guys had. Yeah. But then
- 30:59Speaker 2: we have this psycho rookie come on to the, and
- 31:02Speaker 2: you're watching him at practice and you got your arms
- 31:04Speaker 2: crossed and you're watching her bang her head against glass doors.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Is she really a five star?
- 31:10Speaker 2: Sit like a six year old man in a chair,
- 31:13Speaker 2: just staring at the TV and you think to yourself,
- 31:16Speaker 2: this kid may really have it. I don't want to
- 31:18Speaker 2: speak too soon, but they might have it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like there's a lot going on in there,
- 31:22Speaker 1: but she also could just have it.
- 31:24Speaker 2: And then she walked into a rivalry week game. Big game.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Lots of crowd noise. Yeah. And she goes for 200-something yards.
- 31:33Speaker 2: She has four touchdowns. Tickety, tickety.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, tickety.
- 31:38Speaker 2: And you go, yeah, the kid's got it. We were
- 31:40Speaker 2: right the whole time.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Yeah. It was a performance. Halloween was great. It was awesome.
- 31:46Speaker 1: The in-laws came with us.
- 31:48Speaker 2: What did the inside of the head apparatus look like
- 31:52Speaker 2: as far, did y'all build around like, I'm almost thinking
- 31:55Speaker 2: like a baseball helmet, like a batter's helmet. And then
- 31:58Speaker 2: you build off the paper mache. What was Charo's?
- 32:00Speaker 1: So Charo had basically a hat.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Oh.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Super glued, like hot glued to the cardboard. So I
- 32:08Speaker 1: put it on and my hat kind of sat like this.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Because if you go too far back, then it'll tilt
- 32:12Speaker 1: up too much. But my hat would kind of sit
- 32:14Speaker 1: on my head like this. And then she had two
- 32:18Speaker 1: holes cut like right underneath the nose. Yeah. And they
- 32:21Speaker 1: were sizable. Like, you know, your eyes would focus on
- 32:23Speaker 1: one of the holes, but you could see straight ahead.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Now it was here. That would be kind of cut off. Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And it was also open in the mouth. So under
- 32:32Speaker 1: the teeth, it's like, you know, you sit there, you
- 32:34Speaker 1: can see where you're walking. You can see straight ahead. Yeah.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And then it was easy too. Cause anytime, you know,
- 32:39Speaker 1: you wanted to get something going on, you just have
- 32:42Speaker 1: the hat like this or at the end of the night,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I would just turn it on to where I just
- 32:45Speaker 1: wore the hat and then it was behind me.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I was thinking full helmet this entire time because of
- 32:52Speaker 2: the picture. It's like it looks so dense and thick.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I thought it was a full helmet. Oh, you thought
- 32:57Speaker 2: it wrapped all the way around?
- 32:58Speaker 5: Yes.
- 32:59Speaker 1: She crushed it, bro.
- 33:00Speaker 2: She crushed it.
- 33:01Speaker 1: She crushed it.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Dang, dude. She honestly gets a gold medal for that
- 33:06Speaker 2: as far as like going above and beyond for a
- 33:09Speaker 2: Halloween costume and making it by hand. Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Yeah, come on now.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Apologies.
- 33:18Speaker 1: We tag-teamed those costumes.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Apologies.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Will did help.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Will did. Not just help.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Will also made those.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Will and Charles crushed the costumes.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Will and Charles crushed the costumes. We got to keep
- 33:30Speaker 2: this thing under an hour.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Give her a fun coupon. I dare you.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Here's a couple coupons for you guys.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Charlie, you got a Shockwave coupon you're holding.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Oh, man, that's crazy. Dang, it expires tomorrow. That's crazy.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Got to use it within 24 hours.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Sherman must have the ones from last season. That's why
- 33:54Speaker 2: he handed that one out. God, that's funny. It reminded
- 33:59Speaker 2: me of a homemade Boba Fett costume that I made.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'll send a pic to Chef Rooney. There's no better
- 34:07Speaker 2: feeling than a homemade Boba. Halloween costume. I just want
- 34:10Speaker 2: to throw it out there.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Anytime you look back at the old ones that your
- 34:14Speaker 1: parents had you in or your mom would have you in. Oh,
- 34:17Speaker 1: I'd be like a dead athlete. That was always kind
- 34:19Speaker 1: of like a go-to for us. Cause I always wanted
- 34:21Speaker 1: to be like an athlete and then it'd be like, well,
- 34:23Speaker 1: let's make you a dead athlete. So it'd be paint
- 34:25Speaker 1: the face, get the cobwebs all over you.
- 34:27Speaker 2: That's really good. I do like that.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Ultimate warrior. One time she made like this, uh,
- 34:32Speaker 1: what is it called? Laminated, illuminated, laminated, laminated belt. That
- 34:38Speaker 1: went around, face painted. I was the ultimate warrior. Bobbing
- 34:42Speaker 1: for apples at the Halloween party.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Ultimate warrior had the tassels hanging off of him, right?
- 34:53Speaker 2: Do you have the makeup when you're bobbing? Yeah. Were
- 35:02Speaker 2: you pretty good at bobbing for apples?
- 35:04Speaker 1: I was okay. The bobbing's tough, bro. Getting them apples.
- 35:10Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 35:10Speaker 1: I went in. You're not second guessing your game.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 1: But those things are tough once you get under that
- 35:16Speaker 1: water trying to bob for apples.
- 35:18Speaker 2: The secret is pinning it to the bottom.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 2: You got to pin it to the bottom, sink the
- 35:23Speaker 2: teeth in, and now we're going.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Now we go. Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Any.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Crack a cold ones. Do we want to get into crack.
- 35:34Speaker 5: A cold one?
- 35:35Speaker 1: We can do crack a cold one. We can do
- 35:36Speaker 1: crack a cold one.
- 35:38Speaker 2: We also bring you our Lucy breakers and we have
- 35:42Speaker 2: our Lucy 12 milligram espressos here. Now with the flavor
- 35:48Speaker 2: pouches in the Lucy breaker, I got an eight milligram
- 35:51Speaker 2: mint here. You can break that a bead that is
- 35:55Speaker 2: actually inside of the pouch for an extra little boost
- 35:59Speaker 2: of flavor. I'll go ahead and knock that out for you.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Easy peasy. Lemon squeezy, or in this case, mint squeezy.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Lucy is the only pouch that delivers long-lasting, on-demand flavor.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Get 20% off your first order when you buy online

- 36:30Speaker 2: of legal age, and every customer is age-verified. Warning, this
- 36:35Speaker 2: product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I'll crack a cold one.
- 36:40Speaker 2: You got to crack a cold one. I got to
- 36:42Speaker 2: crack a cold one.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Crack a cold one. This segment is always brought to
- 36:44Speaker 1: us by Olipop. The Pomegranate Sparkle is a new one
- 36:48Speaker 1: that you should get your hands on. The boys are
- 36:50Speaker 1: raving about it in the shop. But go and get
- 36:53Speaker 1: you some Olipop. You know we love Olipop. I love Olipop.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Sherm loves Olipop. Papa Team 6 loves Olipop. My crack
- 36:59Speaker 1: of cold one this week is Scotty Jolie. She can
- 37:06Speaker 1: do Simon Says. And we'll just take, go ahead and
- 37:09Speaker 1: run the tape.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Simon Says. Simon Says. Simon says, touch the back.
- 37:29Speaker 6: Simon says, touch the back.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Touch the back. Tricked everyone.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Simon says, touch the water.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Touch the water.
- 37:46Speaker 7: Simon says, touch.
- 37:51Speaker 1: The water.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Do something different.
- 38:25Speaker 3: You didn't do it, babe.
- 38:33Speaker 6: Are you going to stop?
- 38:42Speaker 2: What happened?
- 38:51Speaker 1: How adorable.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Hey, I hate to start with some logistical talk.
- 38:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:00Speaker 2: But she kind of cooked y'all with the, Simon says,
- 39:04Speaker 2: put your hand on the back. And she put her
- 39:07Speaker 2: hands on your tummy. But she did say, put your
- 39:10Speaker 2: hands on your back. Both you and Rube went hands
- 39:13Speaker 2: on the tummy first. Is that her getting us into technicality?
- 39:16Speaker 2: I think she kind of got y'all. And she let
- 39:18Speaker 2: y'all off easy because you could see the little twinkle
- 39:20Speaker 2: in her eyes. She knew she got it. I don't
- 39:23Speaker 2: know if she knew.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I think she's thinking like, okay, what's like another thing
- 39:26Speaker 1: that I can say? Because she starts rolling, like, touch
- 39:29Speaker 1: the water, other hand. Then we're laughing. She knows she's joking. Uh-huh.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But her doing Simon Says, I mean, just adorable. Cap
- 39:38Speaker 1: of hands.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Cap of hands. Take a T into the back.
- 39:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 2: And then what really kind of got me in that
- 39:46Speaker 2: video was seeing Rue... giggling like super hard during it
- 39:52Speaker 2: and looking back i'm sure was it char that was
- 39:54Speaker 2: filming yeah she kept on looking back at charo and
- 39:57Speaker 2: smiling and laughing at charo that was like that added
- 40:01Speaker 2: layer of look at my little sister being so cute
- 40:05Speaker 2: and like sweet yeah look at her being funny like
- 40:07Speaker 2: she kind of gets it she's kind of being.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Funny too Yeah, she's not like. I don't know if
- 40:11Speaker 1: she knows she's being funny.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 2: And she's not sitting there being like overly corrective to
- 40:16Speaker 2: her and going like, no, you're not doing it right.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Like she realizes this is cute and fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 2: That was like extra sweet.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah. That right there, that's my crack a cold one.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Dude, that's a solid crack a cold one. My crack
- 40:31Speaker 2: a cold one this week was the weekend with Gammy
- 40:35Speaker 2: and Cocoa. So we officially have a grandparent name for Cody.
- 40:42Speaker 1: That's a big deal. Grammy and Coco. Gammie and Coco.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Gammie and Coco. Gammie and Coco.
- 40:48Speaker 1: First weekend operating with just Scar Scar all weekend?
- 40:52Speaker 2: All weekend. And they really did crush it when you
- 40:55Speaker 2: think now that Scarlett was sick the entire time. Yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 2: And Scarlett was having a time with them. They also
- 41:03Speaker 2: did Halloween solo with Scarlett. They did the perfect amount
- 41:08Speaker 2: of videos and pictures to us. And I'll provide those
- 41:12Speaker 2: to both you, Chef, and Matty-O. Scarlett was a witch
- 41:17Speaker 2: for Halloween. She was getting pushed around in her pink car.
- 41:22Speaker 2: She didn't really want to be in the pink car.
- 41:24Speaker 2: She wanted to walk around because she saw all the
- 41:25Speaker 2: other kids are walking around.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Right, everybody running around having fun.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Why are they walking and I'm not? What the hell
- 41:32Speaker 2: is up with that? And so... She got her big
- 41:35Speaker 2: girl boots on. She's walking around. She's getting candy. They
- 41:41Speaker 2: hooked her up with a bucket. That's a bucket for Dada. Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I don't know what Gammy and Coco were doing with
- 41:49Speaker 2: the trick-or-treating, but they were trick-or-treating with Scarlet. So shout
- 41:54Speaker 2: out Gammy and Coco for that as well. We got
- 41:56Speaker 2: a lot of candy for the candy fairy. For next
- 41:59Speaker 2: year's Halloween.
- 42:00Speaker 5: Fun update on that. I've seen people comment.
- 42:02Speaker 2: They call that the Switch Witch as well. Candy Fairy,
- 42:05Speaker 2: the Switch Witch. Oh, the Switch Witch. I was on.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I love that dad hack that was in last week. Yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 1: On doing the whole Candy Fairy, the Switch Witch.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Then I'm thinking, I want the candy.
- 42:20Speaker 2: I think that is the exact premise of.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Where do you think the candy goes?
- 42:26Speaker 4: I think.
- 42:27Speaker 1: So... What.
- 42:29Speaker 2: first off it goes to some fairy and first off
- 42:32Speaker 2: hit that gong hit that gong for me because will's
- 42:34Speaker 2: exactly right i think how it should happen like i'm
- 42:38Speaker 2: good that they can have their candy but every time
- 42:40Speaker 2: i'm going and sneaking candy like i'm trust me that
- 42:44Speaker 2: has been eating the candy come on and i was
- 42:46Speaker 2: telling him like hey grab you a butterfinger Don't be
- 42:48Speaker 2: grabbing the sweet tarts. Don't be grabbing them little packets
- 42:52Speaker 2: of gummy bears. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:54Speaker 1: In the little gold wrapper. Get some chocolate. Get you
- 42:57Speaker 1: a Kit Kat. Get you a Snickers.
- 42:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:59Speaker 2: And to Will's point, for anyone that missed last week's episode,
- 43:03Speaker 2: what Will's getting at, and I think he's exactly right.
- 43:06Speaker 2: The candy fairy, you would leave the candy out. Candy
- 43:09Speaker 2: fairy takes the candy and leaves a toy. Now, extra
- 43:14Speaker 2: layer that I think should be added is candy fairy
- 43:16Speaker 2: shouldn't actually take the candy out. Candy fairy should sneakily
- 43:20Speaker 2: give it to the parents and the kid gets a toy.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I like that idea.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I see what you're saying. Part of me was thinking
- 43:27Speaker 1: you do away with the candy.
- 43:30Speaker 6: Oh no.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Like you throw it away or it's gone. No, that's
- 43:32Speaker 2: the whole hack, man.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I'm thinking I want this.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Hell yeah, brother. Yay. We're good.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Chad, that gig is up. The chat dump gang is
- 43:44Speaker 1: up right now. That's chat dump. That's what happens when
- 43:49Speaker 1: you grow up around a chat dump.
- 43:50Speaker 2: But all you got to do is hit the gong
- 43:52Speaker 2: and we spin zone it and we're good chat dump
- 43:54Speaker 2: on top, man. We are also brought to you by Olipop.
- 43:58Speaker 2: We had our Crack a Cold One segment where we
- 44:00Speaker 2: talked at length about our Pomegranate Sparkle, the newest flavor,
- 44:05Speaker 2: limited edition flavor from Olipop. It's absolutely incredible.
- 44:13Speaker 1: And it really is.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Olipop has done it again with the pomegranate sparkle. And
- 44:20Speaker 2: what's something else that they continue to do time after time?
- 44:23Speaker 2: It's the buy two cans, any two cans of Olipop
- 44:27Speaker 2: in store. They'll pay you back for one. That's any flavor.
- 44:31Speaker 2: You can mix and match. You get a little crisp apple.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Mix it with the pomegranate sparkle. You could get a
- 44:36Speaker 2: raspberry sherbet. Mix it with the pomegranate sparkle. Buy both
- 44:40Speaker 2: of those cans. We'll pay you back for one of them.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Just go to drinkolipop.com forward slash BWTB. Olipop is available
- 44:49Speaker 2: in the soda aisle and with the chilled beverages at
- 44:52Speaker 2: thousands of retailers nationwide, including major grocery stores, Costco, and Walmart.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Drinkolipop.com forward slash BWTB. Cat dump on top.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Scotty went up there once because, you know, she can't
- 45:07Speaker 1: like see or she's just grabbing whatever. She's doing her thing. Yeah, yeah.
- 45:09Speaker 1: One time I did have to knock some gummy bears
- 45:11Speaker 1: out of her hand. I was like, get something else.
- 45:14Speaker 1: And then I grabbed one and gave it to her,
- 45:16Speaker 1: and I'm like, take this one. Because that's the one
- 45:19Speaker 1: I want.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Scotty, you don't like gummy bears.
- 45:22Speaker 1: There was a point where I'm like, I'm seeing too
- 45:24Speaker 1: many Twizzlers and the sweet end of the spectrum. It's
- 45:28Speaker 1: not all Sour Patch Kids. I saw a couple in there.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Sour Patch Kids are great. Yeah. But the Twizzlers and
- 45:35Speaker 1: the Gold Rapper gummy bears and the sweet tarts and
- 45:37Speaker 1: just stuff that I'm like, what? What are we handing out?
- 45:41Speaker 1: These aren't winning candies.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Whoa, Twizzlers.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Twizzlers are solid, but we're talking about trick-or-treating, bro.
- 45:49Speaker 2: The best video I saw.
- 45:51Speaker 5: I'm going to abstain, but I disagree with that.
- 45:54Speaker 1: If we're a bucket of candy, if we're a bucket
- 45:56Speaker 1: of candy, I need 70-30 chocolate to sweet end of
- 46:01Speaker 1: the spectrum.
- 46:01Speaker 5: Okay, I can get behind that.
- 46:02Speaker 1: And in the sweeter end of the spectrum, I need
- 46:04Speaker 1: to see about Two, three at most thing at Twizzlers.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Three at most.
- 46:12Speaker 4: That's fair if you're only seeing Twizzlers, but Sweet Tarts, Twizzlers,
- 46:16Speaker 4: those have a place. I think those are a solid, like,
- 46:19Speaker 4: a good mix. Like a couple, though. Because too much chocolate,
- 46:22Speaker 4: then it's like. Like Sweet Tarts, maybe one. But you always,
- 46:24Speaker 4: so you just. You think Sweet Tarts is goat?
- 46:27Speaker 2: Sweet Tarts is my favorite sweet candy.
- 46:31Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I'm in on Sweet Tarts.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Hey, respect.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I'm not in on. Hey, respect everybody. I'm in on
- 46:34Speaker 1: Sweet Tarts.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Yeah out on smarties and on sweet tarts yeah i'm
- 46:37Speaker 5: not a twizzler right now i like to see some
- 46:39Speaker 5: sweet in that jar every once in a while like
- 46:41Speaker 5: a now and later if anyone knows ball unbelievable now.
- 46:44Speaker 2: And later yeah great yeah hey you you really want
- 46:47Speaker 2: to talk about you you start fucking around and finding
- 46:49Speaker 2: out on hollywood or on halloween the shock tarts dude
- 46:57Speaker 2: sour skittles dude Warheads win the sour stuff.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I'm a chocolatier. I'm a chocolatier.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's fair.
- 47:03Speaker 1: I hear you guys getting excited, and so I'm like,
- 47:05Speaker 1: I need to respect the game of the sweetness out there.
- 47:08Speaker 1: For sure. Oh, man, that's hard, bro.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Say those again.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Just plain Hershey chocolate bar? I'm probably going Reese's one.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Not probably. Reese's is my one. Snickers. I'm a big
- 47:34Speaker 1: Kit Kat guy. You didn't have Kit Kat in there.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Love Kit Kat.
- 47:37Speaker 4: You can add that.
- 47:38Speaker 3: You can add Twix.
- 47:38Speaker 5: You can alternate.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Twix.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Another.
- 47:42Speaker 1: That's gang right there. Who are you kicking out? Milky Way.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I'll probably kick out Milky Way. I'll probably kick out
- 47:51Speaker 1: Three Musketeers. Three Musketeers will have a place for me
- 47:54Speaker 1: every now and then, especially the bite-sized ones. I can
- 47:56Speaker 1: throw that one in. I love Butterfinger. You didn't mention Butterfinger. Butterfinger,
- 48:01Speaker 1: Kit Kat, Reese's, Snickers, Twix. Those are the hitters.
- 48:05Speaker 5: That might be a perfect list.
- 48:07Speaker 2: That was a fabulous list. I just kicked out Milky
- 48:11Speaker 2: Way and Three Musketeers as well, and I added in
- 48:14Speaker 2: your add-ins. I went Reese's, then Kit Kat, then Snickers,
- 48:17Speaker 2: then Twix, then Hershey. That's my top five.
- 48:20Speaker 5: Quick add-in for the— Where's Butterfingers?
- 48:22Speaker 2: If Butterfinger were to be added in there. I mean,
- 48:25Speaker 2: we're adding whatever we want.
- 48:26Speaker 1: My question's out the window.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Butterfinger's definitely over.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I'm probably going Reese's.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Cookies and cream Hershey's. Oh, no.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I'm kicking regular Hershey's out. I'm putting cookies and cream
- 48:37Speaker 2: Hershey's in its place because, boy, oh, boy.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Dude, I'll say this. I feel like that's younger generation.
- 48:45Speaker 1: You might be having great nostalgia because the cookies and
- 48:47Speaker 1: cream one is like number one in your mind.
- 48:50Speaker 2: But as I've gotten older, I've really.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Enjoyed some milk chocolate. Especially like when we did s'mores
- 48:57Speaker 1: for the camping. Something about it. Something about it. Just
- 49:01Speaker 1: gets me going a little bit more in my older age.
- 49:06Speaker 2: What's hit me, dude, now is, and they say this
- 49:09Speaker 2: happens with your taste buds as they mature. I am
- 49:13Speaker 2: falling in love with dark chocolate in a really bad way.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I'm not a sweets guy. We've had this combo a lot.
- 49:20Speaker 2: I never get dessert. I'd rather have two plates of
- 49:22Speaker 2: barbecue than a plate of barbecue and a big old dessert.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Just give me, I'll just take the two plates.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:29Speaker 2: But you get some dark chocolate in front of me, dude.
- 49:31Speaker 1: That stuff is- You gotta get the dark chocolate peanut
- 49:34Speaker 1: butter cups at Trader Joe's. Oh, buddy.
- 49:37Speaker 2: If you could put that in a syringe where I
- 49:39Speaker 2: could just mainline it, yeah. That's one of my favorite
- 49:44Speaker 2: things on planet Earth.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:47Speaker 1: So you're aware. Oh, big time.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Why?
- 49:49Speaker 2: Because I work here and you put me on game.
- 49:53Speaker 2: You put me on game.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 2: But yeah, Halloween, that was my crack of cold one.
- 49:58Speaker 2: And coming home to Scarlett, seeing her reaction to mom
- 50:02Speaker 2: and dad being gone that long and having my first

- 50:36Speaker 2: takes a deep.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Breath and blows out the candles. It works shockingly well
- 50:41Speaker 1: and gets him on the next thing quickly.

- 50:48Speaker 2: if you're about to have a baby and you're preparing
- 50:51Speaker 2: for a baby, it will probably feel a bit overwhelming.
- 50:54Speaker 2: There's a lot of different products out there on the
- 50:56Speaker 2: market that do tons of different things that most people
- 50:59Speaker 2: will say, quote unquote, are a have to have. or
- 51:03Speaker 2: a need to have, got to have. Most parents end
- 51:07Speaker 2: up buying or registering for multiple devices, one for video,
- 51:12Speaker 2: another one for breathing motion, and then relying on gut
- 51:15Speaker 2: instinct or late night Googling to figure out the sleep. Guys,
- 51:21Speaker 2: what if there was a device that could do everything
- 51:24Speaker 2: that I just listed? Everything under the sun, some would say.
- 51:29Speaker 2: For that, For my wife and I, that has been Nanit.

- 51:37Speaker 2: and adore. Currently, my baby is unfortunately sick with a hand, foot, mouth.

- 51:50Speaker 2: I was able to just check out my sweet little
- 51:52Speaker 2: girl sitting there getting her sleepies because she's not feeling
- 51:56Speaker 2: too good. was able to track how well she slept

- 54:01Speaker 1: That's a solid hack. I'm going to try that.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Is that a gong hit worthy hack?
- 54:05Speaker 5: I think.
- 54:09Speaker 2: And Will, in the vein of staying under an hour,
- 54:14Speaker 2: it is now time for our favorite part of the show.
- 54:18Speaker 2: It's our Gravely Collins. Oh, our Gravely Collins.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Can I throw in? I got one here from Hunter Robertson.
- 54:24Speaker 1: A dad hack.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Okay. Hunter Robertson.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Dad hack.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Similar to the hand stack. When we are sitting down
- 54:32Speaker 1: to eat dinner and mama's serving it, we count one, two, three,
- 54:35Speaker 1: and say, thank you, mommy, for dinner. My girls are
- 54:38Speaker 1: three and almost two, and we started it before dinner.
- 54:41Speaker 1: my almost two-year-old could talk. Now, it's made its way
- 54:44Speaker 1: beyond the dinner table, and after a car ride, the
- 54:46Speaker 1: girls will count from the backseat and say, thank you, daddy,
- 54:49Speaker 1: for driving us. It's so sweet. And Hunter, I know,
- 54:52Speaker 1: the top of the soda. Cherish it.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Cherish it.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Cherish it, man.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Does he grab his face?
- 54:58Speaker 1: He cherishes it for as long as you can.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Oh. And then also bonus shout out, bonus shout out.
- 55:08Speaker 2: All the people that reached out to me and my
- 55:10Speaker 2: personal DMs about the hair ribbon cutters. The little elastic
- 55:16Speaker 2: hair things that we were trying to figure out last episode.
- 55:19Speaker 2: I had so many people. I had someone text me. Hey,
- 55:23Speaker 2: listen to the episode, dude. You got to use this.
- 55:25Speaker 2: You got to get this going. The dad hacks were
- 55:28Speaker 2: flooding in.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:31Speaker 2: First voicemail, and again, these are presented by Gravely. These
- 55:36Speaker 2: are dad call-ins. Let's hit our first one, titled Figure
- 55:40Speaker 2: It Out. What's up, y'all?
- 55:43Speaker 3: It's Jorge from Ventura, California. I just had a dad
- 55:47Speaker 3: win and a dad loss.
- 55:51Speaker 6: So me and my wife are at a store and
- 55:54Speaker 6: she starts telling me, hey, I think he pooped.
- 55:56Speaker 3: And I'm like, nah, it's okay. He can wait. He's
- 55:58Speaker 3: a grown boy, two months old.
- 56:00Speaker 1: He knows what he's doing. He knows what he's doing.
- 56:02Speaker 3: I wait a little bit longer and he starts fussing.
- 56:04Speaker 6: Okay, let's get him out. I go to the car
- 56:07Speaker 6: to check for the diaper bag. And of course, mom
- 56:10Speaker 6: took it out of the car and it's my fault.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Here I go.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out.
- 56:14Speaker 6: How am I going to get this boy cleaned up.
- 56:18Speaker 6: I was going to run to Target in the middle
- 56:20Speaker 6: of the store run. But then I turn around and
- 56:23Speaker 6: I see this mom changing her baby in the back
- 56:27Speaker 6: of the trunk just like me. I go and I
- 56:29Speaker 6: ask her, excuse me, miss, I just had a blowout
- 56:34Speaker 6: and I need a diaper.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Can I pay you.
- 56:36Speaker 6: Five bucks for a diaper? She turns around and says,
- 56:38Speaker 6: here you go. Tosses it to me like a lifeline.
- 56:42Speaker 6: I crack that thing open and realize it's a size
- 56:46Speaker 6: four diaper on a size one baby.
- 56:50Speaker 3: The diaper goes all the way up to his mid chest.
- 56:52Speaker 3: But guess what? We're going to roll with it.
- 56:54Speaker 6: My son and I are in the trenches. My wife,
- 56:57Speaker 6: she came out of the store looking at me like, well,
- 56:59Speaker 6: how'd you get this done?
- 57:00Speaker 3: I said, baby. It's what I do.
- 57:02Speaker 1: I'm a dad. I figure it out. Come on, Jorge.
- 57:05Speaker 3: Anyways, guys, thank you for the pod.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Keep it up.
- 57:09Speaker 2: I figure it out. Hey, Jorge's about that life, dude.
- 57:12Speaker 1: He's about that life.
- 57:13Speaker 2: God, he could roll with our crew. You said it,
- 57:17Speaker 2: and my brain said it at the exact same time.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Heady play. Heady play. And also, you know the instinct
- 57:24Speaker 1: when it's like, I think they pooped the diaper. Nah, nah,
- 57:27Speaker 1: they're good.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Because you're thinking at the time, man, I don't want
- 57:30Speaker 1: to go change a diaper right now. We just got
- 57:32Speaker 1: in the store. Let's try and shop. Let's try and
- 57:34Speaker 1: figure out if we can get home in time before
- 57:35Speaker 1: we have to change a diaper. Then he obviously gets,
- 57:39Speaker 1: you know, the little one starts getting upset. All right,
- 57:43Speaker 1: let daddy go take care of it.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. He may have pooped a little bit. Sue him.
- 57:48Speaker 1: You know, he's a baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 57:50Speaker 2: And yeah, dad rule number probably 327. Head on a swivel.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Be aware of your surroundings.
- 57:57Speaker 5: 327. Yep.
- 57:59Speaker 1: It's above my bed. Yeah, man.
- 58:01Speaker 2: You sent me that just the other night is what
- 58:04Speaker 2: you did. Halloween mishap. This is our last voicemail.
- 58:10Speaker 7: Hey there, this is Brayden Murhoff. I'm from Great Bend, Kansas.
- 58:14Speaker 7: 26 years old expecting father of a little boy about
- 58:20Speaker 7: to do in we'll say three weeks got my first
- 58:26Speaker 7: hit of being a dad we were throwing a Halloween
- 58:32Speaker 7: party one of the friends got a little too tore
- 58:35Speaker 7: up and they threw up on the couch threw up
- 58:39Speaker 7: on the carpet big mess got the wife out of
- 58:44Speaker 7: the house People were freaking out trying to clean it.
- 58:48Speaker 7: Being the soon-to-be dad over here, ran up, got the
- 58:53Speaker 7: carpet cleaner real quick. Pulled that son of a bitch out.
- 58:58Speaker 5: Come on.
- 58:59Speaker 7: Got the fluid in it, the hot water, the cleaner,
- 59:04Speaker 7: and couldn't figure out how to turn the son of
- 59:06Speaker 7: a bitch on. You know, stadium impulse is crazy. going.
- 59:11Speaker 7: I'm freaking out. Fourth quarter, a couple seconds left on
- 59:17Speaker 7: the 99-yard line. All we got to do, three points left.
- 59:23Speaker 7: Ended up figuring out how to get the son of
- 59:24Speaker 7: a bitch turned on. Carpet cleaned, couch cleaned. Upcoming dad,
- 59:30Speaker 7: win of the year. I'm just saying, really impressed my wife.
- 59:36Speaker 7: Just getting ready for the newborn trenches. Looking forward to it.
- 59:40Speaker 7: Love the pod. Hey, you guys are the best. See ya.
- 59:46Speaker 1: That right there. Not a dad yet. Not a dad yet.
- 59:53Speaker 1: But when that baby comes, we got to cut the
- 59:56Speaker 1: throwing up bullshit at the house. You can't be having
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: liabilities in the house.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Because I know parents at home that our parents
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: sit there like, you have a party and buddy's yacking
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: on the couch. He's got to be eliminated.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Guess who's not coming to Halloween party next year?
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: When the little one comes, there ain't no more grab ass.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: You can get a little drunk. You can feel yourself
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: out a little bit. But to the point that we
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: look like we're in college again, we got to eliminate
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: that shit.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Here's what I would say also. These are only
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: his first steps. This is an ST Sicko win. I
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: will give him that. I will crown him an ST
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Sicko win. But he's in buds training. It's almost there.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: You know what I mean? He's completed buds training. He's
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: like 99% like he's saying. This isn't even the true
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: test of the warrior. These are only his first steps.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: This might be the hero's journey that we talk about
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: so much. That's the threshold guardian. Puke boy on the couch.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: He's threshold guardian. S.T. Sicko is cleaning the puke. He's
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: probably thinking in the back of his mind, man, I'm
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: kind of done with this bullshit. I got to get
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: this guy out of here. He's turning a new leaf.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: These are the first steps of his journey, my friend.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because I know he says win of the year. Yeah,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you solve the issue, but if you're going to be
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: a real PT sicko, those are the things you've got
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: to be mindful of to be like, we can't even
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: be in that situation again.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: And, buddy.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Because if it happens again, say next Halloween party, it
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: happens again. Yeah. That ain't a win. You cleaning the
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: rug and everything else. That's you saving your candy ass. Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You better be down on
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: your hands and knees taking care of this. Buddy, because
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: you look up some of the dad losses that have
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: come into this show, some pictures of just dads just
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: poop and milk spit up and whatever. Just covered in it, dude.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Welcome to the trenches.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Those are the times where you're, you know, you're cleaning,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: but you can't have a liability in the house anymore.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Cue the James Franco first time.
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: Jif.
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: With the noose around the neck.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: And of course, that's this week's Dad Call-Ins presented by Gravely.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Click the link in the description below of this episode
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: to find a Gravely mower.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Shout out Gravely.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Do we have more of those?
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Not to be that guy.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I don't know. It did showed up at my desk
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: and I'm like, Oh shit.
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: Great.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: God, I'm jealous of that. Um, Let's get some shout-outs.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: I know we got an email.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: We got a lesson of the week. We're at 53
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: minutes right now. I don't know what it is actually
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: on the thing because we also had a minute and
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: a half video. So we're pushing right now to get
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: under an hour. We got some new dads, some new shout-outs.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Drake Parker from Ogden, Utah. He's been a Bustin' fan
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: for over a year. They're expecting their first child in
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: late May of 2027. He'll be repping the four the
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: dads had in the hospital. Shout-out all Milk Team Sixers.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: He loves the episodes every week. Thanks for all you
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: guys do. Keep up the great work.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Ryan Marsden, he writes in about his wife, Kinsley. She's
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: absolute agap material, and she got a C-section. The physical therapist,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: they were blown away with what she was able to
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: do just 24 hours after the operation. We got Landon
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Queener here for the dads.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Hey, boys, I don't know if you'll see this, but
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: me and one of my best friends met you and
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: the team at the tailgate in Knoxville. We're expecting our
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: kids during the same week. Turns out both mamas had
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: kids the same night. Just want to send the love
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: to the PT6 family out there and all the dads,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: just two dads that happen to be best friends soaking
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: up every minute sent from his iPhone.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Hit the gog, sent from the iPhone, Mike Schmidt. He says,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Will Sherm, chef in PT6 family. He also said Deke,
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: but he forgot to write it. This is Mike from
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Delaware writing in to share the great news that my wife, Danielle,
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: and I welcomed our firstborn into the world on October 23rd,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: our little girl, Mary Lucille. Born 7 pounds, 0.9 ounces,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: is healthy as can be and absolutely gorgeous. Gets it
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: all from her mama. Look at Mike Schmidt with the
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Papa Team 6, baby.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: We got Landon Queener coming back in here because he
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: also sent in a photo. And here are the two
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: beautiful little babies born the same night.
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: Cutie, cutie, cutie, cutie.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: We might have found something with that.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Hey, we might have. We might have found something.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: We might have found something. I have an email here.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Email from Houston Rutledge.
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: Oh, Houston.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: First broken bone turned into a dad win. Okay. Brothers,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: last week our household had a first, first broken bone.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Our oldest of our three kids is our all-out competitive
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: never-quit athlete. Her name is Turner. Shout out the Atlanta Braves.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: Come on.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: This fall was her first year of softball and she
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: put in weeks of training with me one-on-one leading up
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: to the season. She immediately became a defensive asset playing
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: third base and then the pitcher position and her bat
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: came to life ending up with an almost 600 batting
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: average coach pitch but still a great first season. Last
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Thursday her team won the first game of the year.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: First game of the season which was their first playoff game.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Turner went three for three and two runs scored. 11
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: total bases and two put outs. On Friday she was
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: borrowing her sister's roller skates, and had a fall when
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: her brother, four, rolled a toy jet under the skates.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: When I got home that evening, she had me check
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: her wrists. After examining it, I determined it was probably broken,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: and we went to the ER. X-rays confirmed a fracture
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: in the distal radius through the growth plate, ending her season.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Ugh.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Her first reaction after the shock and a few tears
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: was to ask if she could still go to her
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: team's next game and sit in the dugout to cheer
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: on her teammates. Once we knew the diagnosis, she immediately
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: wanted to know how soon she could get back to
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: working out and training to be a pitcher and getting
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: back in the batting cage to prepare for kid pitch
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: next spring. What initially felt like an L clearly ended
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: up being a dad win due to her mentality and attitude.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I'm only a couple months into the ranks of Papa
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Team 6 and appreciate what y'all offer to those of
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: us Loving our time in the trenches of fatherhood. Keep
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: up the good work, boys. Houston Rutledge.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: I mean, that's a gong.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: It's a gong for honor.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: To have the wherewithal of not even asking how quickly
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: can I get back to playing, but how quick can
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I be at the next game to cheer on the team?
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: You know you got one.
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: Team needs me, Dad.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: You know you got one. You almost like that that happened. Yes.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: It builds character. Yeah. And anything that's getting fractured or broken,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: it's coming back stronger.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: 100%. We're good. You don't want a lion that doesn't
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: have scars on it. You want that scar lion that's
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: been in battles. Yeah.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Got a little blood on it.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: I have a topic quote lesson of the week. Would
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: we want to end the show with that?
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: We better hurry.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: All right. Asking questions. This was the one that we
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: punted from last week because Charles was asking all those
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: questions with some story. And I said, hey, that reminds
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: me of my topic quote lesson of the week. It's
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: those follow up questions that you don't typically really think
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: of in the moment. You don't just answer questions or
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: move on to the next thing, but be eager to
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: ask questions to those that you love and are close to.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I get so caught up with my own world that
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: I very often just tell funny update stories from my
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: day-to-day to my wife or my friends or family or
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: to just be the fun dad to my daughter because
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: she has put me in that role naturally. We've talked
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: about how she hides from me, runs from me. She
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: wants me to be a plaything. lost where I was.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: I've been challenging myself to ask my wife questions and
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: my daughter questions to not only further explore their minds,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: but to open my mind up to their point of
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: view and see if I can help come alongside them
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: as a husband and father. Those little extra questions that
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: you wouldn't even think of, of, you know, Scarlett's picking
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: up a leaf or something on the ground and we
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: could just move on to the next thing, but really going, Scarlett,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: what is that? Hey, is that a leaf? Where does
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: a leaf come from? Did it come from that tree
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: up there? And kind of asking those like leading questions
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: to where she then is looking at the leaf. And
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: then she is looking up at the tree and then
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: back down at the leaf. And it's been a lot
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: of fun because Scarlett is in a learning stage right now.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: But it's also assisted with Jill in conversations like with
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: us as.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Husband and wife, I've really been challenging myself to ask, like,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: not follow-up questions, but, like, questions that probe and like
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: create a conversation, if you will, not just like a, Hey,
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: how was your day? Did anything funny happen? Like those
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: are kind of the typical ones, but I really racked
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: my brain. I go, Hey, I know that you're really
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: close with the nurse practitioner at the, how's the nurse
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: practitioner and her kids doing? What, what's, Like, what are
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: they doing for Halloween? Kind of digging into those questions that, like,
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: start a convo. It's been really nice. It's been good.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I love that.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Good lesson.
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: Hey, thank you.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Take out the trash. Guess what? The haters are sick. Oh,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: they're sick. Because we got right over an hour.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Eww. Leave a clock in the comments.
