- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello gorgeous, it's Lala Kent. Welcome to Untraditionally Lala. Hello gorgeous,
- 0:08Speaker 1: I am so excited because when people ask me for something,
- 0:14Speaker 1: I deliver.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And today I have delivered a Jenna Willis.
- 0:18Speaker 3: The hot goods. Hello Jenna Willis.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Hello Lala Kent.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Before we start, I have a confession to make.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Oh shit. Already?
- 0:29Speaker 3: Like, what's happening?
- 0:32Speaker 2: And you're going to.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Want to strangle me and punch me in the face.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Should we turn this off for a second? This past week.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I consumed wiener schnitzel.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Not once. Not twice.
- 0:48Speaker 3: But three times. And I got two shots. Chili cheese dogs.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Oh my lordy.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Never an all beef. Frank, I want the original with
- 1:01Speaker 1: a side of chili cheese fries.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Oh, that just sounds like not only heartburn, but like
- 1:06Speaker 2: straight up like shit.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I was fine. Did you sleep alone? That's like the
- 1:13Speaker 3: first place that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: My brain goes was like, how many times did you
- 1:15Speaker 2: poop yourself?
- 1:16Speaker 3: I have the gut of a billy goat. You know this.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I do know this actually.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It like, I'm getting a colonoscopy this year because I'm
- 1:23Speaker 1: just not regular.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Ever. I know you're not.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Like, it takes a cup of coffee, maybe two, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: a hit of the vape for me to be like,
- 1:31Speaker 1: all right, we're moving.
- 1:32Speaker 3: We're in business.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We're good. Otherwise, and if I don't make it in, like,
- 1:37Speaker 1: the window of morning time, it's not happening at all.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It's because I'm so good. Just tap it in. Yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 2: you've always been like that. Like, literally... There'll be times
- 1:50Speaker 2: where you're like, hold up, I just got to drop
- 1:52Speaker 2: a deuce real quick, but you're gone for like 15 minutes.
- 1:55Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, she's on the struggle bus right now. Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Hold up.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Because when it's that time, I'm in and out in
- 2:02Speaker 1: under three minutes. Like there's no, like if I'm in
- 2:06Speaker 1: there for a minute, it's like we have to make
- 2:08Speaker 1: the window.
- 2:09Speaker 3: If it doesn't come now, it ain't coming at all.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Let's just make this whole episode about your poopy problems.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I don't think anyone wants that.
- 2:16Speaker 2: But I needed to get... That off of my chest.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It was delicious.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I almost went for round four last night, but I
- 2:22Speaker 1: was like, I'm just, I can't.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Literally when I walked in the house, the first thing
- 2:27Speaker 2: you said was, I'm so excited for this workout right now.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I was like, it's time.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I mean, look, so you can't take it back.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I don't want to take it back.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And you don't want to take it back.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And I can't promise it's not going to happen again
- 2:41Speaker 1: next week. It will happen again because I love it.
- 2:44Speaker 2: That's why we stay on track with the workouts and
- 2:47Speaker 2: do the best we can when you're not eating schnitzel.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Well, by the way, we are going to have to
- 2:52Speaker 1: get on like a very strict and not even for
- 2:55Speaker 1: like a long period of time because here's the thing
- 2:58Speaker 1: with my body makeup.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:01Speaker 1: My just genetic makeup. This is how I came. I...
- 3:07Speaker 1: When I'm hungry, we'll eat whatever I want when it
- 3:11Speaker 1: sounds good because I know that I am one panic attack, heartbreak,
- 3:17Speaker 1: stressful moment away from losing everything.
- 3:21Speaker 3: To where I look emaciated.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 3: So if I'm hungry, I'm like, I'm like a bear.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'm like, instead of packing.
- 3:28Speaker 1: On the pounds for hibernation, I pack on the pounds
- 3:31Speaker 1: for like a sad day.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Or a week or months. No. So you say this,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but like the truth is how you eat really does fluctuate. Me? Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. So like just for clarity, it's not like
- 3:46Speaker 2: you do eat this way all the time. You don't.
- 3:48Speaker 3: No, I'm really balanced usually. You are.
- 3:50Speaker 2: So it's like you, what you would call intuitive eating technically, right?
- 3:55Speaker 2: You're giving your body what you feel like. That's like
- 3:57Speaker 2: what they would call that. Okay. And a lot of
- 4:00Speaker 2: the times, like when I'm around, you're eating well-balanced meals. Yeah. Like,
- 4:04Speaker 2: let's be honest. So, and it's just funny that you
- 4:06Speaker 2: say that because every single client, because I'm a trainer
- 4:09Speaker 2: or like anyone, like it'll be a random person on
- 4:11Speaker 2: the street and you're, they'll be like, they'll be like,
- 4:13Speaker 2: what do you do? And I'm like, oh, I'm a trainer.
- 4:15Speaker 2: And they're like, oh, well, last night I went to McDonald's.
- 4:18Speaker 2: They're like, all right. Like everyone always wants to confess
- 4:22Speaker 2: their food to me because I'm a trainer and they
- 4:25Speaker 2: want my reaction to it. And I'm like, okay, well,
- 4:27Speaker 2: you can't take it back. So like, they're like repenting. Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 3: You're like God.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And this podcast is done and my life is complete.
- 4:34Speaker 3: God. She is risen. I forgive you for what that's worth.
- 4:42Speaker 2: And we're going to focus on strength training today and
- 4:46Speaker 2: continuing the balance. And ass. There's always ass.
- 4:50Speaker 3: That's my number one thing.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I heard, because I'm not usually a person that I
- 4:57Speaker 1: have ADD and ADHD. So like the comment section, it's
- 5:01Speaker 1: not like I only steer clear of it because it
- 5:04Speaker 1: gets scary. But also it's just like a lot to
- 5:07Speaker 1: where I short circuit. It's like a giant group chat
- 5:09Speaker 1: with people you don't know. Oh.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Is the best. And like I do not thrive in
- 5:14Speaker 2: a group chat with people I do know. No. For
- 5:18Speaker 2: the record, you do not.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So I.
- 5:22Speaker 1: heard from one of our producers and you that there
- 5:25Speaker 1: was like a dispute about the butt injection thing.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So uh you heard it here first they are injections.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I'm just kidding everyone goes.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Wild um no it's it's comical to me that people
- 5:41Speaker 2: even think that because like you say it first like
- 5:44Speaker 2: if you got injections.
- 5:46Speaker 1: There would be no, like, did she? You would just know, like, oh,
- 5:50Speaker 1: she did. Because the moment you saw it, it would
- 5:52Speaker 1: be like, clearly it's not real. Because I like that look.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I'm still.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I still have not written it off to, like, get
- 6:00Speaker 1: my body done. However, just listen.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Just listen.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I love that look. But I also don't know if
- 6:10Speaker 1: I'm fully done having kids.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Like, I know.
- 6:14Speaker 1: That at this moment in time, I can say, I
- 6:17Speaker 1: don't want any kids anymore.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:20Speaker 3: But to say like, okay, so you're done. It's like, well, no, no, no.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I didn't say that. Hold up.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I did not say that. But for the time being.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:29Speaker 3: I'm fine.
- 6:30Speaker 1: So if I'm going to go in and like have
- 6:33Speaker 1: fat taken and put in my ass, I want to
- 6:35Speaker 1: make sure that I'm done having babies. And I know
- 6:39Speaker 1: you're anti-ass injections. By the way, a lot of, even
- 6:42Speaker 1: a lot of doctors are.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Okay, look, like I don't want to say I'm fully
- 6:46Speaker 2: anti because if something makes you feel good, right, and
- 6:50Speaker 2: it feels safe to you, then do it. Like if
- 6:54Speaker 2: someone wants a mommy makeover, don't deprive yourself of something
- 6:58Speaker 2: that will help you feel good, right? However, like my
- 7:01Speaker 2: thing is always let's go the natural path first. And like,
- 7:04Speaker 2: if people are literally on the internet arguing that you
- 7:07Speaker 2: got injections.
- 7:08Speaker 3: There would be no argument.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Why the fuck do we need injections? Do you see
- 7:11Speaker 2: what I'm saying?
- 7:12Speaker 3: Like, why do you, if people.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Are literally like, oh, she injected that fat ass. Why
- 7:16Speaker 2: are you like, I'm going to inject my fat ass?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Because it could always be fatter. The bigger, the better. Good.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Keep eating your schnitzel and see what happens.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I was looking at my ass.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Although there is a balance to that.
- 7:29Speaker 3: No, but I did look at my ass today.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And like the lights were kind of off and I
- 7:33Speaker 1: only had natural lighting and I like looked into my
- 7:35Speaker 1: vanity and I was like, Oh no, we've got, we've
- 7:38Speaker 1: got a little, we've got.
- 7:39Speaker 3: A little dimplage happening. We've got a little dimplage.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Wait, who was, can we just digress for a moment?
- 7:46Speaker 2: It's fine. Please, please, please don't go telling my clients
- 7:50Speaker 2: just to eat pasta and you'll get a fat ass.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Someone to tell me that.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I know. And I was so pissed when I showed
- 7:56Speaker 2: up that morning because I was like, that is not,
- 7:58Speaker 2: that's not how it happens. Um, Look, you put the
- 8:04Speaker 2: work in and like there are ebbs and flows depending
- 8:06Speaker 2: on your schedule, of course. But like we've been working
- 8:09Speaker 2: out consistently for how many years? Oh, very long time. Right.
- 8:12Speaker 2: So I lived at Palazzo in the very first apartment.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I know.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And I've known you since I moved here.
- 8:18Speaker 2: When I was 23. I know. I'm going to be 36.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I'm 36 today, actually. So wild. When this comes out. Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I was like, no, not today. I was like, did
- 8:27Speaker 2: I forget your birthday too? Yeah.
- 8:32Speaker 3: We're going to get into all of it.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to get into that. But what I
- 8:38Speaker 2: do want to touch on is like consistency is key.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And like the reason that you can, first of all, yes,
- 8:43Speaker 2: you are like 1000% naturally blessed. You're considered an ectomorph,
- 8:47Speaker 2: which means- What the fuck is that? I mean, you're
- 8:49Speaker 2: naturally skinnier.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I'm not a dinosaur. Doesn't that sound like a dinosaur?
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's ectomorph, endomorph, and a mesomorph. So there's
- 8:58Speaker 2: three different body types. And like you are an ectomorph,
- 9:01Speaker 2: which means you're naturally skinnier.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:03Speaker 2: So the blessing is that like, yeah, you do have
- 9:06Speaker 2: a little more leeway to eat the way that you
- 9:08Speaker 2: eat and your body will snap back quicker. You also have, right,
- 9:12Speaker 2: like what we said, like the consistency of 10 years,
- 9:16Speaker 2: holy hell, of exercising and consistency. So you have a
- 9:22Speaker 2: little more elasticity to play with those kinds of things
- 9:24Speaker 2: because you have built the foundation.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:27Speaker 2: And that's what like creating a sustainable lifestyle is all about.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And not depriving yourself of everything because you don't need
- 9:33Speaker 2: to at this point.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Does that make sense?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yes. And I love, you and I were talking the
- 9:38Speaker 1: other day and we were talking about you as a
- 9:39Speaker 1: trainer and we spoke about like your method of training
- 9:46Speaker 1: is not complete lifestyle changes, but lifestyle integration where like,
- 9:52Speaker 1: totally let's live the way that we live so that
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's not a shock to the system or habits. But
- 9:58Speaker 1: how do we like, add things to your lifestyle to
- 10:02Speaker 1: make those tweaks? Because I find that when I have
- 10:07Speaker 1: not worked out for a while and then we get
- 10:10Speaker 1: back into it, it's fucking brutal.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 10:14Speaker 3: When we do start adding things.
- 10:17Speaker 1: More days or more times or more weight, I'm like,
- 10:20Speaker 1: oh my gosh, you start becoming obsessed. And then those
- 10:24Speaker 1: lifestyle changes just naturally happen. 1000%.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And then you're like, oh, I didn't change anything. When
- 10:30Speaker 2: like you've actually changed everything. And that's the most beautiful part.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And it's all about making small changes like at a time, right?
- 10:38Speaker 2: So it's like, What's one thing that I can do
- 10:40Speaker 2: right now? It's like technically not to get all whatever,
- 10:43Speaker 2: but a smart goal, right? So something that's like specifical, specifical.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I like that word. That would be great.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You're a specifical anamorphosis or whatever the fuck you said.
- 10:52Speaker 2: A lot of weird words happening on this podcast.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Are these trainer terms?
- 11:01Speaker 2: No, it's literally non-existent.
- 11:02Speaker 3: You guys are your own species.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Trainers. Put them in a box on an island by
- 11:08Speaker 1: themselves over here.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You're over here. No, like specific, measurable, attainable, relative, and
- 11:14Speaker 2: time bound.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And it's such a great way to pick like one
- 11:18Speaker 2: thing at a time. And you and I do it.
- 11:20Speaker 2: You just don't realize that we're doing it most of
- 11:22Speaker 2: the time because I'm not like, hey, we're doing a
- 11:23Speaker 2: smart goal today.
- 11:24Speaker 3: No, I don't want to know because I don't like change.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You don't even realize it's happening and then kind of
- 11:30Speaker 2: how you said. You're like, oh.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, point it out after the fact.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Well, obviously, I know you well.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Because Jenna, during our workouts, there are days where she'll
- 11:38Speaker 1: be like, we're going to try something new today. And
- 11:41Speaker 1: I'm like, I immediately start to panic.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yes, she does.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I feel like I want to take a nap. I'm like, new?
- 11:48Speaker 3: New means different. And different means a change.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And now my body is going into shut down mode. Ergo.
- 11:56Speaker 3: It is Virgo.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Full Virgo. She's like, not this. Not now.
- 12:01Speaker 3: The wind blew a different direction. How do I handle it?
- 12:03Speaker 3: This was not a part of the plan.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I wrote down what we were doing today and we're diverting.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 2: That's how I've always been though.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And it's with everything.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But then what happens? We do it.
- 12:13Speaker 3: We do it and I don't die.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And then I'm like, wow. This felt amazing.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I didn't die. And then the ass gets some blood flow.
- 12:20Speaker 1: And it's like perky and excellent.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So to touch on that nice ass of yours.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's very nice. I, you know, no, it's not fake.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Let's be clear here. And secondly, it's the work that
- 12:33Speaker 2: we put in over time. It's really, it's really that
- 12:37Speaker 2: simple and progressive overload and making sure that you're actually
- 12:41Speaker 2: lifting heavy enough. Not when you're lifting and you're like, Ooh,
- 12:44Speaker 2: this hurts a little bit. Like Lala is literally like
- 12:46Speaker 2: you are screaming at me in, in the workouts. Like
- 12:51Speaker 2: you get pissed at me because you're like, this fucking hurts, right?
- 12:56Speaker 2: And it hurts because you're putting your body through enough
- 12:57Speaker 2: adversity to actually grow the muscle. And that's why your
- 13:01Speaker 2: butt is getting bigger and bigger. I will say though,
- 13:04Speaker 2: my ass has always been bottom heavy. She's got them
- 13:07Speaker 2: apple bottom jeans, baby. She's like down here.
- 13:11Speaker 1: That's how you know it's not a fake ass because
- 13:12Speaker 1: the shelf was not happening a lot. And I have
- 13:17Speaker 1: the dimples in the side. You can't change those though.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I can with some injections.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 13:23Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'm back and forth on the whole thing. There are
- 13:27Speaker 1: days where I'm like, I'm going to do it. And
- 13:29Speaker 1: then there are days where I'm like, oh, what if
- 13:30Speaker 1: something goes wrong?
- 13:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Also, first of all, yeah, they can move.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I know.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I had a friend who had her ass done to
- 13:38Speaker 1: fill out the dimples. And instead of dimples, she now
- 13:41Speaker 1: has what she calls saddlebags.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Saddlebags. Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 1: She does.
- 13:47Speaker 3: The fat dropped.
- 13:48Speaker 1: No.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So that's one thing that can happen. And the other
- 13:51Speaker 2: thing that can also happen is like, right? When you
- 13:54Speaker 2: do those injections, then you're having to find the fine
- 13:56Speaker 2: balance of not over-exercising because you're going to burn through
- 13:59Speaker 2: the fat. I don't want that. So they can literally disappear.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Oh, I don't like that. There you go.
- 14:05Speaker 1: See, this is where I think I differ.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Like this GLP-1 kick where it's like really skinny. I
- 14:16Speaker 1: have never wanted that body type. I'm grateful for the
- 14:20Speaker 1: body that I have. Everything works. Everything's moving.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Love it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But I like the feeling of being able to, I
- 14:29Speaker 1: like when I put jeans on and I'm like, oh shit,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I got to jump a little bit.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Or, oh, I can't get this over my ass.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I like that feeling. Yeah. I prefer women with meat
- 14:43Speaker 2: on their bones. Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And I don't necessarily have that body type. So we
- 14:49Speaker 1: always want what we don't have, right? No.
- 14:51Speaker 3: So that's another thing when I'm eating all of that food,
- 14:54Speaker 3: I'm thinking, Oh, thickness. I want to get thick.
- 14:59Speaker 2: However, what I will say is, um, you know, eating
- 15:04Speaker 2: the right balance of foods is also important. And also
- 15:07Speaker 2: eating cleaner foods is most important. Um, And that's like
- 15:11Speaker 2: the trainer oatmeal. See now berries for breakfast. I love this.
- 15:16Speaker 3: I love this.
- 15:18Speaker 2: And that's what will actually prevent those little dimple looking things.
- 15:21Speaker 2: The dimples are coming from.
- 15:22Speaker 3: The excessive amounts of fast food that I have been consuming.
- 15:26Speaker 3: It's been nonstop pretty much.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And that will be a side effect of eating that way.
- 15:30Speaker 2: You know? Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I wouldn't, I got a little too comfortable in the paint.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I was like, we should do this every night. Hold up.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Hold up.
- 15:43Speaker 3: You got to try one, though.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I can't.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Why?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Gluten-free. Okay, I'll take the bun off. Then I could.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I'll get you a gluten-free bun. Fine. You will die.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I will do it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I ordered them for the whole house. You had people over. No,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I had them over. I had people over, and I
- 16:01Speaker 1: was like, you guys have to try Wiener Schnitzel. And
- 16:04Speaker 1: when I tell you, they were like, this is.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Fucking delicious.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 2: And it's always piping hot, as my mom would say.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 2: We do like piping hot, though. For real. It's going
- 16:19Speaker 2: to be piping hot.
- 16:20Speaker 3: My mouth is watering. I can't stop thinking about it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Can we talk about this really quickly and then we'll
- 16:38Speaker 1: get back into like fitness, but also I have some
- 16:41Speaker 1: pop culture.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Stuff I want to talk about. Okay. You know that
- 16:45Speaker 2: time I missed your birthday? Oh, this year?
- 16:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Jenna was like, you never texted me.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I was like, I swear I did.
- 16:57Speaker 3: And she was like, you didn't. And I was like, oh, fuck.
- 17:01Speaker 1: There was so much talk about a birthday trip that like,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think I just.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Forgot.
- 17:09Speaker 3: I literally, wait, this is the best part.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I was literally leaving town and you were going to
- 17:14Speaker 2: try and come, right? And then you couldn't. And I
- 17:18Speaker 2: get back, like didn't hear from you while I was away.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And I mentioned that you missed my birthday and you're like,
- 17:25Speaker 2: isn't it in July? Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I said are we in july and you're like yes
- 17:33Speaker 1: which means you missed my birthday and i was like.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Oh shit yeah look really bad fuck up really bad
- 17:41Speaker 2: fuck up but i i know how you are no
- 17:46Speaker 2: i'm serious and this is no sometimes but i'm just
- 17:51Speaker 2: kidding no you're not you're not like the truth is
- 17:54Speaker 2: i i know you as a person i know I
- 17:58Speaker 2: know your personality. I know, right? Like your, even though
- 18:03Speaker 2: your birthday is coming up, it is today, technically right now. Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 3: But please text me. I'm in a really bad spot. Oh,
- 18:10Speaker 3: you know how it feels now. I'm in a really
- 18:11Speaker 3: bad spot. I now know how you feel. Keep going.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Keep going.
- 18:15Speaker 2: You can make it up to me.
- 18:15Speaker 3: It's fine. I'll text you on my own birthday.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, please.
- 18:20Speaker 2: This is really for you. And I know that you
- 18:24Speaker 2: love me. And we all, we make mistakes. And I
- 18:27Speaker 2: know that like before I was leaving, you're like, have
- 18:28Speaker 2: the best time. We'll talk. I know that it wasn't
- 18:32Speaker 2: from a bad place. And I think you and I
- 18:35Speaker 2: have the gift of understanding each other on a deep
- 18:39Speaker 2: enough level that like we can get mad. We can
- 18:44Speaker 2: get hurt. But we have always worked through it. Oh,
- 18:47Speaker 2: every time. And, and when I, there's been a lot
- 18:49Speaker 2: of times, but there's, there's been times and like, that's okay.
- 18:52Speaker 2: That's what friendship is.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It's testing and then growing together. Yeah. You know what?
- 18:56Speaker 2: And to me, that's like what true friendship is. And
- 18:58Speaker 2: we've always had that gift and the ability to do that.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And that is a beautiful thing. And when, when I
- 19:05Speaker 2: told you, you like, you took acceptance and you apologized.
- 19:10Speaker 2: And like genuinely apologized, gave me the biggest fricking hug,
- 19:13Speaker 2: got emotional about it. And you didn't just try to
- 19:15Speaker 2: make excuses. Do you know what I mean? I think
- 19:18Speaker 2: that's the biggest thing. You're like, I own this. And,
- 19:20Speaker 2: and I fucked up.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Can I tell you, so I miss your birthday.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And then you also, and then I missed Amber's birthday.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Cause I was like, Oh, it's not. I was like,
- 19:30Speaker 3: what is going on with me?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Where like, I'm not remembering important days. Like, Put it
- 19:37Speaker 2: in your phone. Put it in your calendar.
- 19:38Speaker 1: And I was going to say, and there's no excuse,
- 19:41Speaker 1: but I feel like I live and die by my
- 19:45Speaker 1: Google calendar. And so when it's written down for me,
- 19:48Speaker 1: like I know it's almost like a checklist.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Not that a birthday is.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Like a checklist, but there, there was, I don't, it's,
- 19:56Speaker 1: it's a blessing and a curse of being in the
- 19:59Speaker 1: industry that we're in because every day feels the same. Yes.
- 20:03Speaker 1: You know, like weekdays look similar to the weekends. So
- 20:07Speaker 1: you never really know. And that's, The months all look
- 20:10Speaker 1: the same because it's always fucking just sunny and gorgeous.
- 20:14Speaker 3: And you don't even realize time is passing.
- 20:15Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I wake up and I'm like, after your birthday, I
- 20:20Speaker 2: was like, we're in July. And you're like, first of all,
- 20:22Speaker 2: we're not.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But even if we were, it's still a miss. You
- 20:25Speaker 1: missed my birthday. Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 3: It's funny now, but it was not funny then.
- 20:31Speaker 2: No, at the time it was not, it was not funny,
- 20:34Speaker 2: but like we talked about it and you accepted it. Well,
- 20:36Speaker 2: I knew that it was like, you were struggling with
- 20:39Speaker 2: this birthday. I was really struggling with this.
- 20:41Speaker 1: What was the struggle that you were feeling? Like knowing
- 20:44Speaker 1: that your birthday was coming up, like what was going
- 20:47Speaker 1: through your head of like what this birthday represented that
- 20:51Speaker 1: maybe it has every birthday been hard for you?
- 20:54Speaker 2: No, not every birthday, but I think it's, the realization
- 21:01Speaker 2: of time passing. Yeah. And you know, and you're similar to,
- 21:07Speaker 2: I am, it's like, we have goals and aspirations and
- 21:11Speaker 2: I'm not talking financially. I'm, I'm talking familial friendships, life.
- 21:18Speaker 2: And every year they pass, it's like, Oh, I get emotional. Um,
- 21:24Speaker 2: That's fine because I will most likely sob on this podcast.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I'm just giving you fair warning. You're in great company. Okay, good, good.
- 21:32Speaker 3: This is where we get emotional.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
- 21:34Speaker 2: It is. Okay, so this didn't, like, I'm still single.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I haven't met a person in my life that I'm
- 21:45Speaker 2: super excited about. I don't have kids. And there's all these...
- 21:50Speaker 2: milestones that you think you're going to hit in life
- 21:54Speaker 2: at a certain point and you haven't.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And when the birthday hits, even though every day is
- 22:02Speaker 2: technically time moving. Right. Do you know what I mean?
- 22:05Speaker 1: Every day is like the thought of it is like
- 22:10Speaker 1: a celebration.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Correct.
- 22:12Speaker 3: And you're like, right.
- 22:13Speaker 1: But for me, it's a representation of me feeling like
- 22:18Speaker 1: I would be somewhere different and maybe this birthday I
- 22:20Speaker 1: would have someone to be there to celebrate with or
- 22:23Speaker 1: this birthday.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Now I have a baby, you know, I understand.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So this year hit really hard for me.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Um, is this your 40th? Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Did that mean anything?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it did.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It really did.
- 22:43Speaker 2: It's a whole new decade. Right. And like, 40 sounds
- 22:48Speaker 2: more mature and kind of deeper into life than 30.
- 22:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 22:56Speaker 1: But I'm looking at you and I'm like, she does
- 22:58Speaker 1: not look 40.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I know, I get it. She's a child.
- 23:01Speaker 2: She's a baby. I get it all the time where
- 23:04Speaker 2: people are like, no. Like they don't, like people do
- 23:07Speaker 2: not believe me. You look really fucking good.
- 23:10Speaker 3: It's wild.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It's all that exercise.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And all that good eating. And all that gluten-free shit.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yeah. It's not ultra processed like schnitzel. Fuck you. I
- 23:21Speaker 2: will process my ass off with the schnitzel.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Do not come for the schnitzel.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I will process my ass to the schnitzel every day.
- 23:28Speaker 3: One of the great loves of my life. One of
- 23:32Speaker 3: the greatest.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And who are the others? My kids. You know, I
- 23:39Speaker 2: think it's taking the mindset shift of All of the things,
- 23:47Speaker 2: and this is what really worked for me because your birthday,
- 23:51Speaker 2: and I want to hear about that.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Was really from all of the things that haven't happened.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 2: And shifting it into the things that have.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:02Speaker 2: And what I have accomplished and what I can do that,
- 24:06Speaker 2: you know, other people can't at this point in their
- 24:09Speaker 2: lives who are in a different situation.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 2: And for instance, right, like I've been traveling.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:16Speaker 3: You get to go wherever you want.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I get to go wherever I want. At any time.
- 24:19Speaker 2: At any time.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Work.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Everything. And instead of focusing on the time that has
- 24:28Speaker 2: passed and things that haven't happened, focusing on the things
- 24:31Speaker 2: that have.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:33Speaker 2: And the relationships that I have built. And that is
- 24:36Speaker 2: a gift.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:38Speaker 2: And has helped a lot. I think that's.
- 24:41Speaker 1: A wonderful and a beautiful way to look at it
- 24:43Speaker 1: because I think, you know, I'm a part of this
- 24:47Speaker 1: gratitude text thread that's mainly.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Sober women.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Well, it is all sober women. Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 3: But it does force you to take.
- 24:55Speaker 1: A moment even when you're going through all the shit
- 24:57Speaker 1: because the shit is so much more overwhelming and easy
- 25:00Speaker 1: to focus on. And I don't know why. It's just
- 25:02Speaker 1: how we were created. But take a moment to like
- 25:06Speaker 1: in that thread. We all fucking bitch, right?
- 25:09Speaker 2: Of course.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And then we say.
- 25:10Speaker 1: So today I'm grateful for my fucking Starbucks that like
- 25:14Speaker 1: put a smile, like even the smallest of things.
- 25:17Speaker 2: The smallest. I wake up every morning and do a
- 25:18Speaker 2: gratitude list.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I think no matter if you're sober or not, it
- 25:22Speaker 1: should be just a part of the mind, body, and spirit.
- 25:25Speaker 2: For every negative, I'm sorry, for every positive thought, we
- 25:28Speaker 2: have eight negative thoughts. And think of how many thoughts
- 25:31Speaker 2: we have 10,000 thoughts in a day.
- 25:33Speaker 1: That's it.
- 25:34Speaker 2: It's like way more, maybe it's more, maybe I'm way off,
- 25:37Speaker 2: but like, think about that. Think of all the negativity
- 25:40Speaker 2: that we're just, our brains are constantly fighting. So if
- 25:42Speaker 2: you wake up and the first thing you do is
- 25:44Speaker 2: you're like, okay, I'm, I'm grateful for this bed right now.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Right. I'm grateful for ocean cuddling me, you know, whatever
- 25:50Speaker 2: I know. Right. And you say five things, you're immediately
- 25:53Speaker 2: at least putting yourself in a place where you're thinking
- 25:55Speaker 2: positively versus what naturally happens, how the brain works.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Negatively. And I love that you do that every day.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Cool.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I mean, it's been... I don't... This birthday.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, talk to me.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Coming up is like... Or I guess today is so
- 26:14Speaker 1: weird for me. And I can't quite put my finger
- 26:18Speaker 1: on why it feels weird. I think, again, it's a
- 26:22Speaker 1: reminder of where you thought you would be. And, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Ocean started school and she lost a tooth. And... There's
- 26:32Speaker 1: big changes happening with my kids. Ocean is, or Sosa's
- 26:36Speaker 1: turning two tomorrow. You know, this baby who was such
- 26:42Speaker 1: a well.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Thought out human.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Oh gosh, I know I helped you pick the donor.
- 26:51Speaker 1: To think back like, oh my gosh, that feels like
- 26:53Speaker 1: it was yesterday.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yeah. And now.
- 26:56Speaker 3: She's here in human form.
- 26:58Speaker 1: The name that I had picked out years ago now
- 27:02Speaker 1: has a face to it.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:04Speaker 1: The greatest decision I ever made, but she's turning two. Like,
- 27:08Speaker 1: what are you talking about?
- 27:09Speaker 2: It's too fast.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It's too fucking fast. And then that situation, you know,
- 27:16Speaker 1: with the boy who I met at the beginning of
- 27:19Speaker 1: the year.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Do I?
- 27:20Speaker 1: Everyone remembers him because. still to this day, he has
- 27:24Speaker 1: really wreaked havoc on my emotional state. And I don't know,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you know, I've cried to my mom and Easton and
- 27:31Speaker 1: I'm like, I know how you guys feel, but I
- 27:33Speaker 1: have to tell you, like, I'm really super bummed about it.
- 27:38Speaker 3: And it's like a good thing.
- 27:42Speaker 1: And I guess a bad thing, the, the bad thing
- 27:44Speaker 1: about it is, is it's taken me a really long
- 27:47Speaker 1: time to recover because But also what it's brought into
- 27:51Speaker 1: play is like a lot of like a grieving process.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but yes. And can I also add in like
- 28:03Speaker 2: before for me, the biggest gift in this whole thing
- 28:08Speaker 2: before this guy, you didn't believe that you could ever
- 28:13Speaker 2: feel that way.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Well, not only did I feel like I.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Like you really believed you would never feel this way
- 28:19Speaker 2: again and now you know you can't.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yes. Well, that was the other thing I was going
- 28:23Speaker 1: to say is it's brought... Even though there's a grieving
- 28:26Speaker 1: process happening that's so far beyond just him and what happened. Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 2: But like I look at my kids.
- 28:36Speaker 1: And I had to explain this to my mom because
- 28:38Speaker 1: sometimes my mom just like she doesn't fucking get it.
- 28:41Speaker 2: And like.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I was crying yesterday and my mom said something back
- 28:47Speaker 1: to me and Easton.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Was like, that's your response.
- 28:51Speaker 2: It was like, it was basically nothing.
- 28:53Speaker 1: And my brother was like, Lauren just like spilled her
- 28:57Speaker 1: whole soul to you.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And like, that is your response.
- 29:01Speaker 2: And I had to explain to her, like, my mom
- 29:04Speaker 2: is very, she doesn't want to look under the hood.
- 29:06Speaker 2: She just wants to look at the car. I think
- 29:08Speaker 2: it's their generation. It must be, but it's my mom
- 29:11Speaker 2: is the same way. It, it drives me nuts. It's like,
- 29:16Speaker 2: you don't want to talk about it. You don't even
- 29:19Speaker 2: necessarily want to process it. And then it's like, okay,
- 29:22Speaker 2: so how do we move past? No, no, no. Like
- 29:24Speaker 2: you have to process it to move past.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yeah. My mom, like I'll spill my heart sobbing and
- 29:29Speaker 1: she'll be like, You're going to find someone.
- 29:31Speaker 2: And I'm like, what the fuck? This is so much
- 29:34Speaker 2: deeper than that.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Like I'm going through something where like I'm devastated that
- 29:38Speaker 1: I really.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Thought like, oh my God, did I find someone.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Who I really, really enjoy and like would consider having
- 29:47Speaker 1: a baby with, would consider all of these things that
- 29:49Speaker 1: I never in a million years thought I wanted nor needed.
- 29:53Speaker 1: So blessing, but also curse. also it opened up like
- 30:10Speaker 1: i will never have like oceans memories will always be
- 30:17Speaker 1: mom's house and dad's house she will never experience what
- 30:20Speaker 1: i experienced like all of my stuff in one place
- 30:22Speaker 1: and although kids are resilient and most likely she's not
- 30:26Speaker 1: going to be affected by it because I have to say,
- 30:29Speaker 1: I feel like I'm doing a pretty damn good job
- 30:32Speaker 1: as a parent.
- 30:33Speaker 2: You're a freaking incredible mom. I get to see it
- 30:35Speaker 2: firsthand all the time. Well, thank you.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And I hope that God continues to like speak through me.
- 30:41Speaker 1: And like, when I say that, I just mean like,
- 30:45Speaker 1: sometimes I feel like my brain is shutting down and
- 30:47Speaker 1: I can't do it. And I'm like, God, I need
- 30:49Speaker 1: you to like take over for me and help me
- 30:51Speaker 1: through this moment of her having a meltdown or getting
- 30:55Speaker 1: through first school drop-off because like I'm, not well.
- 30:59Speaker 4: And I know that she's going to go through changes
- 31:03Speaker 4: and so is Sosa. And I just, when I think
- 31:06Speaker 4: about like my life and what I've created and I'm
- 31:10Speaker 4: so fucking proud, but there are moments where I'm like,
- 31:16Speaker 4: Ocean is never going to have like her parents in
- 31:19Speaker 4: one place.
- 31:19Speaker 3: This was not the game plan.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Sosa most likely will not have like someone come into
- 31:27Speaker 1: my life where he will take over as a dad. Like,
- 31:30Speaker 1: and I have to be okay with that. This is
- 31:31Speaker 1: a decision I made and she's going to be fine.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Cause again, I call on God and I'm like, just,
- 31:38Speaker 1: you know, help me navigate this. But meeting that guy,
- 31:42Speaker 1: like made me realize that like, maybe I want it,
- 31:46Speaker 1: want something that I didn't think I wanted or needed.
- 31:50Speaker 1: And this birthday is like a representation of like, fuck,
- 31:55Speaker 1: like what, Have I done with my life?
- 31:59Speaker 2: Well, I can list a thousand things that you have done.
- 32:06Speaker 2: You know, the first thing that my, I love you
- 32:09Speaker 2: so much.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I love you too.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Like so deeply. And you're such an incredible human.
- 32:14Speaker 5: And what Ocean doesn't have to go through because of
- 32:22Speaker 5: the strength that you had to step away.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Is a house full of anger, hate, arguing, fights.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:37Speaker 2: That, in my mind, is far more detrimental to any
- 32:41Speaker 2: child than having two happy homes.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Yeah, no, you're right.
- 32:47Speaker 2: And, like, she has two homes. How cool is that?
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I mean, she's thriving, and I know she's
- 32:53Speaker 3: going to continue to thrive.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Thriving.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I know she's going to continue to thrive.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And you couldn't predict how terrible that relationship was going
- 33:02Speaker 2: to end. You had no idea at the time. I
- 33:05Speaker 2: could have predicted, Jenna. I chose to ignore it.
- 33:08Speaker 3: That's the other thing.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Why though? Why?
- 33:10Speaker 2: Because you wanted to have one home.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Okay. But the lesser of two evils was leaving.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Yeah, no. There was no version of sticking. With all
- 33:23Speaker 2: the information that came in, There was no version of
- 33:27Speaker 2: staying with, with. So with the cards that were dealt
- 33:30Speaker 2: in that situation, all we can do, you know, to
- 33:35Speaker 2: bring it back to the schnitzel is make the best
- 33:40Speaker 2: choice of the cards that were dealt.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 33:45Speaker 2: And like, like I said, with the schnitzel, like you
- 33:46Speaker 2: can't take it back.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:47Speaker 2: So now we're going to work out. We're going to
- 33:48Speaker 2: do this.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 33:49Speaker 2: So like, you can't take back what happened. No. Do
- 33:52Speaker 2: you know what I mean? So you're moving forwards the
- 33:54Speaker 2: best way you can in the most healthy way for
- 33:57Speaker 2: your kids.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Yeah. And I, like getting a donor and having Sosa
- 34:02Speaker 1: was the greatest decision of my whole life. Like I
- 34:05Speaker 1: look at her and she's just the most, she's so
- 34:10Speaker 1: different from Ocean. But when I say that Sosa is
- 34:14Speaker 1: just happy to be here.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I see her every day.
- 34:19Speaker 3: She just wakes up.
- 34:20Speaker 2: She's so happy.
- 34:21Speaker 1: And is just Happy to fucking be here. You know,
- 34:24Speaker 1: she's like a little brand new spirit. She's, like, magical
- 34:29Speaker 1: and whimsical and free-spirited and curious.
- 34:34Speaker 2: And has a great freaking home.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:39Speaker 2: And, like, you're saying she's never going to have this
- 34:43Speaker 2: fatherly figure. You don't know. You cannot predict the future. No,
- 34:46Speaker 2: I can't.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I can't.
- 34:49Speaker 2: This year, maybe this birthday, which is really just one
- 34:52Speaker 2: day that we make such a big deal of. And
- 34:55Speaker 2: I can't say, why do we do that? Because I
- 34:57Speaker 2: do it every year. But it's one day where you
- 35:03Speaker 2: get to be with her and celebrate everything that she
- 35:05Speaker 2: does have.
- 35:06Speaker 3: And it's a lot.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I know. I know.
- 35:10Speaker 2: She has a lot, like so much love, so much family, friends, everything.
- 35:15Speaker 2: And like you do too.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 2: And I know it's really easy. Now I'm going to
- 35:22Speaker 2: get emotional.
- 35:23Speaker 3: What the fuck are you doing to me? No, I've
- 35:24Speaker 3: been emotional for the past two weeks.
- 35:27Speaker 1: And I looked at my Flow app and I am
- 35:28Speaker 1: nowhere near my period.
- 35:34Speaker 2: It's really easy for us to fixate on the things
- 35:38Speaker 2: that we don't have. And to get emotional about them.
- 35:45Speaker 2: And it's understandable. It's human-like. But I am getting emotional
- 35:52Speaker 2: because I see the beauty in everything that you do have.
- 35:57Speaker 2: And like that is a gift.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 2: And everything that you give these kids, everything that you
- 36:02Speaker 2: put your heart and soul into, like.
- 36:05Speaker 3: You should be celebrating this birthday.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You just like made me feel so happy.
- 36:12Speaker 3: It's just what I see.
- 36:14Speaker 2: No, you're right.
- 36:15Speaker 3: I really needed to talk about this.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I love you so much. I love you too. I
- 36:25Speaker 2: watch you every day pour your heart into these kids.
- 36:28Speaker 2: We're working out from home for how many years now
- 36:31Speaker 2: because you don't want to leave your kids. Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Thank you for pointing all of that out. And I
- 36:39Speaker 1: shouldn't be celebrating because I also think that Your perspective
- 36:46Speaker 1: changed and we don't have to like get into it
- 36:49Speaker 1: if you don't want to, but losing your dad.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Oh God. You know, like right before I was, um,
- 37:00Speaker 2: leaving my mom, like had this note on the table
- 37:04Speaker 2: because we were supposed to celebrate my 40th, like with
- 37:06Speaker 2: my dad.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:08Speaker 2: And like, I didn't get to, um, And it was like,
- 37:14Speaker 2: we were talking about how we were all going to
- 37:15Speaker 2: like do something together and like go on a trip
- 37:17Speaker 2: and it didn't happen.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Um, and.
- 37:23Speaker 2: It's, I mean, it's the hardest thing I've ever been
- 37:25Speaker 2: through in my life.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 2: You know, um, I mean, you've been there every day
- 37:32Speaker 2: for me through it to just check in and reach out.
- 37:36Speaker 2: And it's something that I know you've been through and
- 37:40Speaker 2: we'll all go through.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 37:43Speaker 2: And nothing in life prepares you for it.
- 37:46Speaker 4: No.
- 37:46Speaker 2: And you go through that.
- 37:48Speaker 1: It's not only like losing your parent, but then having
- 37:52Speaker 1: to accept that like, he's not going to see you
- 37:58Speaker 1: get married. He's not going to see you have kids.
- 38:01Speaker 1: And depending on what you believe in, like, obviously I
- 38:05Speaker 1: know that my dad did see me have children and
- 38:10Speaker 1: be a mom. And I think he's, one of the
- 38:14Speaker 1: greatest reasons why I have what I have.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Yeah. But like, we're just selfish by nature and it's like, right.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I understand that. But I, I want to see my dad.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Like.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Look at my kids.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah. I think there's something really different between knowing they're
- 38:37Speaker 2: there and like, looking down on us right or whatever
- 38:42Speaker 2: you believe in versus being able to give that hug
- 38:46Speaker 2: being able to physically be there and touch it's like
- 38:48Speaker 2: one of the main senses that we have as humans
- 38:52Speaker 2: and we're cut off from all of them.
- 38:56Speaker 3: So it's it's a very different experience.
- 38:58Speaker 5: Than okay i know he's seeing Well, you have to
- 39:03Speaker 5: dig really deep and you have to find like, no,
- 39:06Speaker 5: you know.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Where my mind goes to.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I'm like, is he seeing everything?
- 39:09Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 39:11Speaker 3: He talked.
- 39:11Speaker 1: But by the way, I had a picture of me
- 39:14Speaker 1: and my dad on my nightstand.
- 39:18Speaker 2: And I now have it in a drawer and I'm like,
- 39:20Speaker 2: I'm really sorry, dad.
- 39:21Speaker 1: But like, you got to go in the drawer because like, you.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Don't want to see everything. I don't want you to
- 39:26Speaker 3: see everything. They don't see that shit. They don't see
- 39:29Speaker 3: that shit. I promise.
- 39:32Speaker 1: No no if they couldn't see it here on earth
- 39:36Speaker 1: they ain't seen it up there.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Can I also say one more thing regarding just to
- 39:39Speaker 2: go back to what you were saying about Sosa we
- 39:44Speaker 2: only know what we know you're like what the fuck
- 39:47Speaker 2: no I love this elaborate So this is the household
- 39:52Speaker 2: she grew up in.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Oh, I love where you're going with this.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Keep going. She doesn't even know what it's like to
- 39:58Speaker 2: have the dad around, right? Like she has Easton. It's
- 40:01Speaker 2: not like she doesn't have a great role model. Yeah,
- 40:03Speaker 2: and she loves him. And she's obsessed with him, but
- 40:05Speaker 2: meaning this is her home. You're projecting onto her.
- 40:09Speaker 3: I shouldn't do that.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm not saying you are, but I'm saying like
- 40:13Speaker 2: part of you getting emotional was like, she's never going
- 40:17Speaker 2: to have a dad. Like, you know what that's like. Mm-hmm.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Which is a beautiful gift. And you and I had
- 40:22Speaker 2: the conversation of, you know, both of our dads passed
- 40:27Speaker 2: and it's been the hardest thing in my life. And
- 40:28Speaker 2: you're like, me too. And you said something that was
- 40:30Speaker 2: so beautiful that resonated with me that was like, I
- 40:33Speaker 2: would rather take this feeling, right, over not having a
- 40:38Speaker 2: relationship with my father at all. Yeah. There are people
- 40:40Speaker 2: who are like, my dad dies. Right. I feel nothing.
- 40:42Speaker 2: There's a lot.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 40:45Speaker 2: But Sosa doesn't even know what she's missing. No. It's
- 40:49Speaker 2: like the roadrunner, like ignorance is bliss. And sometimes that
- 40:52Speaker 2: is a beautiful gift.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I had a conversation. She's not lacking love. That's for
- 40:57Speaker 1: damn sure. Right.
- 40:58Speaker 3: She's got a lot of love.
- 40:59Speaker 2: So much love.
- 41:00Speaker 1: It's very, to the cookie cutter world, it's very untraditional. Okay.
- 41:07Speaker 3: But for my kids, this is just their norm.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:10Speaker 3: And I had a conversation. So like, fuck traditional.
- 41:16Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 41:16Speaker 3: I had no choice. Well, actually, I did have a choice.
- 41:20Speaker 3: You did have a choice. I did have a choice,
- 41:23Speaker 3: but it wasn't on my terms, right?
- 41:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Like, there was compromise and a waiting period. And I
- 41:31Speaker 1: said to myself, this is not the life. I'm not
- 41:35Speaker 1: just going to, like, throw it to the wind. I'm
- 41:38Speaker 1: not compromising when it comes to my next child. My
- 41:42Speaker 1: kid is going to be in this household with stability
- 41:45Speaker 1: and consistency and all of the things. And I had
- 41:49Speaker 1: a conversation with a dear friend of mine who's gay
- 41:54Speaker 1: in a gay partnership. And when I brought this up,
- 41:58Speaker 1: it was very tough love. And he was like, what
- 42:01Speaker 1: a fucking ignorant thing to say. And I was like,
- 42:07Speaker 1: I know where this is going. I mean, he was like,
- 42:09Speaker 1: my kid will never have a mom.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Right. Literally was just thinking that. Right. I'm in a.
- 42:16Speaker 3: And untraditional in some places.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Totally.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Partnership.
- 42:22Speaker 1: My kid's never going to know the difference because my
- 42:24Speaker 1: kid has love.
- 42:25Speaker 3: And I was like, you just checked me so fucking hard. Like,
- 42:29Speaker 3: I don't even know what to say to that.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Accurate and so real. Yeah. That's amazing.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 3: I was called ignorant. And I was beat. You just
- 42:41Speaker 3: said it. Oh my God.
- 42:43Speaker 2: That felt really good. And you know what? I'm now.
- 42:46Speaker 1: looking forward to my birthday because I am going to
- 42:48Speaker 1: celebrate it like that. Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 2: You just made like a massive change in my thought process.
- 42:54Speaker 2: How do you feel about that?
- 42:55Speaker 3: It feels so good.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 2: It feels good to make a difference in someone's day.
- 43:00Speaker 2: You just made a huge one in mind, just so
- 43:02Speaker 2: you know, it's just the truth. I'm glad that we
- 43:06Speaker 2: talked through it. You and me both.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Oh, I just feel like a weight was lifted off of.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I love that. I feel like I was hit by
- 43:13Speaker 2: a train, but like a really fun train. So I
- 43:16Speaker 2: don't have to text you on your birthday? Bitch, if
- 43:18Speaker 2: you don't text me on my birthday, you're a petty motherfucker.
- 43:23Speaker 2: We know I'm not, actually. Obviously, Dolly Parton passed away,
- 43:28Speaker 2: which was horrible.
- 43:31Speaker 3: That one, like, hit.
- 43:34Speaker 2: We were training when your mom came in and told us. Yes.
- 43:37Speaker 2: That and Hayden Panettiere. I was... So surprised. I mean.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Like my heart felt heavy.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Same. The Hayden one because, you know, I was obsessed
- 43:51Speaker 1: with her because she was responsible for doing the cove
- 43:58Speaker 1: with the dolphin slaughtering. Where she like paddled out with
- 44:02Speaker 1: a bunch of people to stop it.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. It's brutal. But she was like a
- 44:06Speaker 2: huge fucking voice for that. Both of those actually really
- 44:09Speaker 2: hit me hard too.
- 44:10Speaker 1: It did.
- 44:11Speaker 2: You could just like, Dolly was like such a sweet spirit.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I saw this video of her, by the way, which
- 44:18Speaker 1: was so good because she's like, when people talk about how, um,
- 44:22Speaker 1: I will always love you as Whitney songs or Whitney song. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 1: She can have the credit as long as you're giving
- 44:29Speaker 1: me the check.
- 44:31Speaker 2: He's like, fucking gangster. Take the credit. I just want
- 44:36Speaker 2: the money.
- 44:37Speaker 3: I don't give a fuck about that.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Show me the money. That song by Tupac where he's like,
- 44:43Speaker 2: all I want is money.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Fuck the fame.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I'm a simple man.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Rings so true to my soul. Is that your theme song?
- 44:49Speaker 3: That's my... What is it?
- 44:52Speaker 1: Slogan?
- 44:52Speaker 2: Motto? I don't know. It's written right there.
- 44:55Speaker 3: I'm like, I.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Don't... Have the fame.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Have the relevance.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I just want the check.
- 45:02Speaker 2: It is... By the way, we've had this conversation before,
- 45:07Speaker 2: and I think that is what keeps you, in particular,
- 45:14Speaker 2: so grounded in life. Because I don't want relevance. I
- 45:19Speaker 2: don't mean it like that. Because you don't get caught
- 45:22Speaker 2: up in it.
- 45:23Speaker 1: No.
- 45:24Speaker 3: It exhausts me.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Which is very rare. Like when I. It's so rare.
- 45:29Speaker 1: You have to post more on socials because we got
- 45:31Speaker 1: to stay relevant.
- 45:32Speaker 3: I'm like, what is this?
- 45:35Speaker 1: Like when I see people who like never post on socials,
- 45:37Speaker 1: I'm like, I so relate.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Like I would not.
- 45:39Speaker 1: I know you do. Look, I wouldn't think twice about
- 45:42Speaker 1: it if it wasn't like part of the job description.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Because now in entertainment, like you truly have to have it.
- 45:48Speaker 1: And it's exhausting. I love posting on the podcast page though.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Because I feel like I'm like talking with my friends.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not.
- 45:56Speaker 3: It's like real honest conversation.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Doesn't feel like you're forcing anything. Not that I ever feel, but.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I don't feel like I have to be on.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Like when I'm on this mic with my people
- 46:07Speaker 1: who like obviously are listening because- They're my people. Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 1: I just feel like I can just truly be my, myself. Yeah.
- 46:17Speaker 2: It feels authentic.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Like your most authentic self, which when you're your authentic self,
- 46:21Speaker 2: it's not work.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Right. Doing the podcast is like the best thing ever.
- 46:26Speaker 2: That's what I mean.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Um, Kendall Jenner sees Jacob Elordi as husband material.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Um, I had no idea they were dating. You're talking
- 46:36Speaker 2: to the wrong person. Do you know who Jacob Elordi is?
- 46:38Speaker 1: Nope.
- 46:39Speaker 2: You're going to die. Let me see. I don't normally
- 46:41Speaker 2: like this type of man. Oh, Elordi.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Show me the goods.
- 46:46Speaker 2: He is. Show me the goods. He is fine as fuck. Really?
- 46:50Speaker 1: Yes.
- 46:50Speaker 2: All right, let me see.
- 46:51Speaker 3: And you know my type.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 46:53Speaker 1: This is like so not my type. But he's like
- 46:55Speaker 1: suddenly my type. I like him with facial hair better.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 47:00Speaker 3: He's super handsome. He's so hot.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Like, look at him.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Face yeah his facial structure is a I gave it
- 47:06Speaker 2: a tan.
- 47:07Speaker 1: He's got that fucking uh snatched the jawline so yeah
- 47:11Speaker 1: he is husband material.
- 47:12Speaker 2: He is definitely husband material I would what are what
- 47:16Speaker 2: are what would you say is like the number one
- 47:19Speaker 2: for husband material oh that's a great question like my
- 47:25Speaker 2: number one trait for husband material yeah support love it
- 47:34Speaker 2: You want to know mine? I think I already know,
- 47:37Speaker 2: but go for it. A big deal. I'm just like, no.
- 47:41Speaker 1: So obviously one that everyone would say is like, you
- 47:43Speaker 1: have to be excellent with my children. Yes.
- 47:46Speaker 3: That's like a given. Last night I used.
- 47:49Speaker 1: One of those hair rollers and my mom walks in
- 47:51Speaker 1: to take her contacts out. She goes, oh, that's interesting.
- 47:56Speaker 2: She goes, leave it to your mom.
- 47:57Speaker 3: She goes, that'll keep you single forever.
- 47:59Speaker 1: I was like, I go, speaking of which I was like,
- 48:05Speaker 1: This is what husband material would be for me.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Sexy time. Like I will fuck you good. You'll fuck
- 48:12Speaker 3: me good.
- 48:14Speaker 1: And then I can go into the bathroom, put my
- 48:16Speaker 1: hair like this, cover my face in castor oil, come out.
- 48:20Speaker 3: You make a joke. And then want to cuddle while
- 48:23Speaker 3: we watch Friends for a few hours. That I know.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Girl.
- 48:27Speaker 3: That is my husband.
- 48:29Speaker 2: You're going to get that. That's not that difficult. I
- 48:31Speaker 2: have seen you looking like that.
- 48:34Speaker 3: No, it was so bad.
- 48:35Speaker 1: It was so bad. I looked at myself and was like,
- 48:39Speaker 1: holy shit. But I'm telling you, mark my words. The
- 48:43Speaker 1: man that sees me, he's in bed and I walk
- 48:45Speaker 1: out like that. And he says something funny. That's like
- 48:48Speaker 1: kind of teasy. And we can both cackle about it.
- 48:51Speaker 1: And then lay in bed and watch friends together. I'm
- 48:54Speaker 1: marrying that man. Like contract and all. That's how locked
- 48:58Speaker 1: in I would be.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Just from that.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:02Speaker 3: To be able to walk out.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Come on. Is that not a big deal?
- 49:07Speaker 1: What is that?
- 49:08Speaker 2: Like something about Mary. Like you probably just look like
- 49:10Speaker 2: the chick from something about Mary with the semen in
- 49:12Speaker 2: her hair.
- 49:13Speaker 3: She's like, hello.
- 49:16Speaker 1: And he's like, I don't know about you, but he's like,
- 49:18Speaker 1: I got something about Mary right now.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I'm going to send you a picture tonight. Please do.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Because honestly, if.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I feel comfortable enough, I will send it into the podcast.
- 49:27Speaker 2: I think you should. And we can do a vote
- 49:29Speaker 2: because God's honest truth. I feel like there isn't a
- 49:31Speaker 2: single man who wouldn't bone you with your hair like that.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I'm not even asking you to fuck me with it in.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Like we can fuck when I look hot.
- 49:38Speaker 1: As long as after I can come out looking like that.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:42Speaker 1: You make a funny, silly joke and then watch friends
- 49:45Speaker 1: with me. That's all I require.
- 49:46Speaker 2: I feel like that could easily happen. I just want
- 49:48Speaker 2: you to know. Yeah. Just saying, I'm just throwing it
- 49:51Speaker 2: out there. I'm going to find him. He's there.
- 49:53Speaker 3: I think I may have found him in some capacity.
- 49:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 49:58Speaker 3: We got to, we'll see.
- 49:59Speaker 2: I'm not going to get too into it because the
- 50:02Speaker 2: last time I did, I was left in the fetal
- 50:04Speaker 2: position and, And I just don't want that to happen again.
- 50:07Speaker 1: That was awful.
- 50:10Speaker 2: You're down in that fetal.
- 50:23Speaker 1: The other thing that I wanted, you don't care about this,
- 50:26Speaker 1: but I care a lot. Real Housewives of Salt Lake.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Jen Shaw completes her prison sentence. So she was let
- 50:33Speaker 1: out of prison.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:35Speaker 3: A few months ago.
- 50:37Speaker 2: But now, like, the home confinement and all that shit
- 50:39Speaker 2: is over and done. What is she going to do?
- 50:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Like, what do you do now after that?
- 50:45Speaker 1: You know she was in there with the girl who
- 50:49Speaker 1: did the blood?
- 50:51Speaker 5: What?
- 50:51Speaker 3: Theros or something?
- 50:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I have no idea.
- 50:54Speaker 1: You didn't ever watch that with Amanda Seyfried? No.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Oh, you got to watch it. There's this girl who.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Claims that she could— her name's Elizabeth Holmes.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Oh, of course I do.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Shh.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Of course I do.
- 51:05Speaker 1: We can do all the testing with one drop of blood.
- 51:07Speaker 3: They were in prison together.
- 51:08Speaker 2: They were?
- 51:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:09Speaker 3: We got to get the tea.
- 51:11Speaker 1: The only thing I think of when I hear that
- 51:14Speaker 1: they were in prison together is Rick Ross's song, Stay Scheming.
- 51:20Speaker 3: I'm like, they were up in there scheming.
- 51:24Speaker 2: That is their theme song.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Because I don't think she'll ever be allowed back on Housewives.
- 51:27Speaker 2: There's no way, right?
- 51:28Speaker 3: Time makes everything better. Crazier things have happened.
- 51:31Speaker 1: She's a nut job. The greatest of television. And her
- 51:35Speaker 1: looks were always fabulous. I'm going to leave it on
- 51:39Speaker 1: this one. Burning Man is this week. Would you go
- 51:42Speaker 1: to this or have you been?
- 51:44Speaker 2: Never been. Not really on my bucket list. Not really
- 51:47Speaker 2: on mine either.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 51:49Speaker 2: And people are always like, you don't know until you go.
- 51:52Speaker 2: And I understand, but I feel pretty free in life.
- 51:56Speaker 2: I think you do too.
- 51:56Speaker 5: I don't.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I feel like a caged animal most of the time.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Just wait until you have kids. It's wonderful.
- 52:03Speaker 1: But then you have like your single friends who are like,
- 52:07Speaker 1: we should go do this. Let's go to Mexico on
- 52:10Speaker 1: a whim. And even though Mexico is like not.
- 52:13Speaker 2: crazy.
- 52:14Speaker 3: It's not like you're.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Asking me to go on an African safari, but I'm like,
- 52:18Speaker 1: you want to go in two weeks. Like it's impossible.
- 52:21Speaker 1: I can plan it in like a few months. Yeah.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I, I think it's one of those things
- 52:27Speaker 2: where people are like, Oh, you'll it's the most free
- 52:29Speaker 2: I've ever felt in my life. And I feel pretty
- 52:34Speaker 2: open in life already. And there are aspects of it
- 52:38Speaker 2: that I would like to experience, you know, like the
- 52:40Speaker 2: artwork that people build from the ground up, stuff like that.
- 52:42Speaker 2: But I just feel like people go and do drugs
- 52:45Speaker 2: and they're like, this is the best time of my life.
- 52:47Speaker 3: It's because that's what they do, Jenna. Yeah, exactly. Oh no,
- 52:51Speaker 3: it could be fun. Obviously I can't go.
- 52:53Speaker 2: I'm sober.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I think I would absolutely hate it. And you're dusty.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Oh, you're so dusty. But then people talk about the
- 52:59Speaker 2: camps that you're in. And if you're in the right
- 53:01Speaker 2: camp and there's showers.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Not much of a camper.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Not much of a camper. No, me neither. What I
- 53:06Speaker 2: do it, if it was the right situation, yes. Is
- 53:08Speaker 2: it on my bucket list? That's a hard pass. Yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I've gotten a little bougie in my day. Yeah.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Well, are they setting up like a pop-up Waldorf Astoria situation?
- 53:21Speaker 3: Because then I'm all in. I would say definitely not.
- 53:25Speaker 3: I had the best time with you on the podcast.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Me too.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Where can people find you? Where can people sign up
- 53:29Speaker 1: to have you train them?
- 53:30Speaker 2: All the things. Yes. You can find me on all
- 53:33Speaker 2: social handles at MsJennaWillis.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Ms.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Jenna Willis. Yes. And for any sort of training services,
- 53:41Speaker 2: you can go to my website, www.jennawilliscoaching.com. Excellent. Yeah.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Thank you guys for listening to another episode of Untraditionally Lala.
- 53:52Speaker 1: We are going to catch you on the bonus.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Ooh, I'm excited for it.
- 53:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you're going to be here today and on Monday.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Yeah, baby. Answer all them fit questions. Yep.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Happy hump day, y'all. I'll catch you next week.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Bye.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Bye. Thank you.
