  Speaker 1: but bringing our lives under God's leadership.

  Speaker 1: Saying to him, Lord, not bless my agenda, but Lord,

  Speaker 1: what is your agenda for my life? What are you

  Speaker 1: trying to do in me and through me as I

  Speaker 1: think about this day? What is your plan for this day?

  Speaker 1: How do you want me to relate to this person

  Speaker 1: I am going to encounter today? How can I encourage
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: them spiritually? How can I help them move towards Jesus Christ?

  Speaker 1: How can I encounter the problems and situations of this

  Speaker 1: day in a way that honours you.

  Speaker 1: God wants to meet with you. He wants to speak
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: to you through His word.

  Speaker 1: We're looking this week at the theme of becoming strong
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: in the Lord. We looked yesterday at how important it
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: is to.
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: Base our lives on the word of God. It is
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: the foundation, the blueprint for a healthy spiritual life.

  Speaker 1: Today I want to look at some verses in Jeremiah
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: chapter 7.

  Speaker 1: Where starting in verse 21, thus says the Lord of hosts,

  Speaker 1: the God of Israel, Add your burnt offerings to your
• 1:42
  Speaker 1: sacrifices and eat flesh.

  Speaker 1: He's talking about the sacrificial system they had for finding
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: forgiveness from God.

  Speaker 1: For I did not speak to your fathers or command
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: them in the day that I brought them out of
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: the land of Egypt concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.

  Speaker 1: But this is what I commanded them, saying, Obey my voice,

  Speaker 1: and I will be your God, and you will be

  Speaker 1: my people, and you will walk in all the way

  Speaker 1: which I command you, that it may be well with you.

  Speaker 1: Yet they did not obey or incline their ear but

  Speaker 1: walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: their evil heart.

  Speaker 1: And they went backward and not forward.

  Speaker 1: Since the day that your fathers came out of the

  Speaker 1: land of Egypt until this day, I have sent you

  Speaker 1: all my servants, the prophets, daily rising early and sending them.

  Speaker 1: Yet they did not listen to me or incline their ear,
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: but stiffened their neck. They did more evil than their fathers.

  Speaker 1: Did you catch that one verse in the middle verse 23?
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: Obey my voice, God says.

  Speaker 1: And I will be your God, and you will be
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: my people, and you will walk in all the way

  Speaker 1: which I command you that it may be well with you.

  Speaker 1: God wants things to be well with us. He wants
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: to bless our lives. He wants to be our God
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: and us to be His people.
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: But do you see what's that the foundation of that relationship?
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: Obedience.
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: Spiritual strength in your life comes from obedience to God.
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: That's not a popular concept these days, is it? We
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: want to just let everyone choose their own way in
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: life and say, Well, if it works for you, that's great.
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: This is what works for me.
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: But that's not what God says. God says, I have
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: shown you my way to live. Obey me, and I'll
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: bless your life. If you want spiritual strength in your life,
• 4:00
  Speaker 1: you need to learn to obey God. It's at the
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: heart of your relationship with Him. It's the same with
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: parents and children in a family, isn't it?
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: If the children constantly disobey their parents, it destroys the
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: healthy relationship of that family. But when they obey their parents,
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: there's a wonderful strength in that family life. It's the
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: same in your spiritual family. God is your Father. Learn
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: to obey Him and follow Him in all things. I'm
• 4:33
