- 5:32We've got something that came through about a month ago over
- 5:36on my Patreon chat that we're going to be getting into today,
- 5:40kind of one of those topics that we'll probably all think about a
- 5:44bit. It's not really particularly
- 5:45like, you know, the heathen religion or anything like that
- 5:50or faith or Folkway or whatever, but more or less just how we
- 5:52behave in the world around us that.
- 5:55Or or or. How we could be potentially
- 5:57impacted by other behavior in the world around us.
- 6:01So hey, hello to David Klen. Good evening.
- 6:04Glad you're able to catch this too.
- 6:05Man, that was good to see your name pop up here on the screen.

- 7:57Booty Viking is says he's mighty fine and so said every lady I've
- 8:02ever been with. Leo, I hope it was true.
- 8:08Fairly bite. However, that one time at band
- 8:11camp, there's always that one time, you know, there's always
- 8:14that one time at band camp, there's always, there was always
- 8:18the, the, the French horn, you know, or the tuba or or whatever
- 8:22it was, the trumpet. I don't know.
- 8:26Various things happen at band camp that we do or do not talk
- 8:30about. Yeah.
- 8:32I hope you're all doing well tonight.
- 8:34Thank you for being here. Anything that pops up that you
- 8:37want to talk about or have questions about, feel free to
- 8:39let me know, but we're just going to really kind of just
- 8:43jump right into it here shortly. I do just want to say that this
- 8:46past weekend in in Murfreesboro, TN, matter of fact, it was just
- 8:51yesterday, the time of this broadcast, which is Monday of
- 8:55course. So yesterday on Sunday had a
- 8:58bunch of people show up to a local park in the city where we
- 9:03had a secret bloat celebration. So that was fun.
- 9:08It was more more, you know, just a for to the untrained eye or
- 9:12to, you know, the passers by, it was just a family cookout, you
- 9:15know, a bunch of people sitting around having food.
- 9:18But there was some clues and, and hints of, of things like a,
- 9:22you know, a table with some, some, some God pieces and some
- 9:28incense burning and things like that as a as an altar.
- 9:30And there were people gathered around for a little ritual that
- 9:32we did just to kind of commemorate the importance of
- 9:36our our victory sacrifice, our victory bloke this year.
- 9:40So that was my first time actually doing a public bloat or
- 9:44I wouldn't say it's a bloat, but at my public ritual, you know
- 9:47what I mean? And so it was, it was new
- 9:50territory for me to venture into.
- 9:53I've only ever done things of that nature with my closed off
- 9:58kind of, you know, people who I know and in, in places where I'm
- 10:04more comfortable, you know, so either in the privacy of my yard
- 10:07or in a more very rural setting or area where, you know,
- 10:13there's, there's no outside eyes, you know what I mean?
- 10:15So to be in a public park where there are other families and
- 10:21other people enjoying the day 'cause it was a beautiful day in
- 10:24Tennessee, the Middle Tennessee yesterday was, you know, bright
- 10:27sunny skies, a nice breeze blowing, you know, in the 70s,
- 10:33just a perfect day to be outside and enjoying it.
- 10:36So everybody else, you know, in the in the community that we're
- 10:38at that we're out that day or are seeing, you know, me kind of
- 10:41wearing what I wear, you know, the tunic and, and we got, you
- 10:44know, a bunch of people gathered around this table and we're, you
- 10:48know. It's very obvious.
- 10:51That we're doing something of a kind of spiritual or even maybe
- 10:54religious nature. But thankfully nobody bothered
- 10:58us like it was no, nobody, you know, disrespected our, our
- 11:02time, which I was relieved for because again, having never done
- 11:07anything like this in a public way, I had my reservations and I
- 11:11was a bit anxious, you know what I mean?
- 11:12And I didn't want that feeling to transfer into the ritual.
- 11:17I didn't want my, my worries or my fretting to, to, to impact
- 11:23how the ritual was done. So I, I took a lot of, you know,
- 11:27time in, you know, the day prior and, and even the day of to kind
- 11:32of just sit with my feelings and realize that this, there are
- 11:35things that are out of our control.
- 11:39You know, there's things in our lives that are out of our
- 11:41ability to, to, to, to, to control anything.
- 11:45So it, to worry about the outcome of something like that
- 11:49is no good. It, it doesn't do well for my
- 11:51spirit, doesn't do well for the people around me 'cause that
- 11:53energy is felt and that energy is shared, you know, hey there,
- 11:57we got sculd. It works.
- 11:58That just joined over here on YouTube says greetings.
- 12:02What did I miss? Not a whole lot there, Blake.
- 12:06I'm just kind of telling people about the cigar bloke thing that
- 12:08I did yesterday in Murfreesboro, TN.
- 12:12And just the sense of, you know, I've, I think I've talked a bit
- 12:15before about people have asked, you know, like, you know, can
- 12:21you hold ritual in a public space?
- 12:23And I've always been very reserved about that idea because
- 12:26to me, you know, setting sacred space and, and having ceremony
- 12:30and ritual like that, you know, should be done with the right
- 12:37people and, and in the right environment and all this kind of
- 12:39thing. And so I have, I've had my
- 12:41reservations. So yesterday, being my first
- 12:44time conducting A ritual, kind of leading that presiding over
- 12:48ritual in a public space was new territory for me.
- 12:51So being nervous about it, having anxiety about it, I had
- 12:54to sit with those feelings and know how to process it and then
- 12:58release it and let it go and let what was to happen to happen,
- 13:02you know, do my best with it. And again, it worked out.
- 13:06It worked out fine. I asked for a lot of feedback
- 13:10from people or, you know, I asked for feedback from several
- 13:13people saying, hey, you know, how do you think it went?
- 13:16You know, I think I could have done better, right?
- 13:18I like to get that feedback. And I mean, I didn't get
- 13:23anything of, you know, constructive criticism or
- 13:25anything. It was like it was great for
- 13:26what? For what it was and for what you
- 13:28were able to do. We, we definitely felt what you
- 13:31were trying to provide for us in the ritual and and then
- 13:34everything that you did. So I'm thankful for that.
- 13:41Cigar blow. Yes.
- 13:42Fire, fire, fire. Raining blood.
- 13:44Yeah. Like a Slayer.
- 13:45Like, like Slayer, you know, from a lacerated sky.
- 13:49So we couldn't do that. Obviously.
- 13:50We couldn't have blood, not Even so much of the fact that it was
- 13:53in a public park. Because if I had the, if I, if I
- 13:58had been able to obtain food grade, you know, safe to consume
- 14:03regulated animal blood, it would have been part of the ritual.
- 14:08Not in any great amount. It would have been just, you
- 14:09know, a little sprinkle here or there.
- 14:10But I had fully intended on doing that.
- 14:12But I just, I couldn't get any. None of the markets in the area,
- 14:15none of the butchers had it. I even asked, you know,
- 14:18international markets between here and Nashville.
- 14:20They didn't have it. That's a funny story.
- 14:24I, I went into, I went into one place and I knew just from
- 14:27walking in. I'm like nobody here speaks
- 14:29English like, or at least it's not their native language
- 14:32because I walked in and I was, you know, the whitest person in
- 14:37that, in that, in that Mercado, you know, in that Mercado.
- 14:42So I was like the Dennis Sangre or Comer, you know, like I don't
- 14:46know Spanish very well. I'm like, I know blood and I
- 14:48know for eating. So I'm like, do you have life
- 14:51for eating? And they no, no, no, no, no.
- 14:53OK, all right, bye. Adios.
- 14:56So yeah, that was that was funny.
- 14:59Have to get in there and and ask for that.
- 15:00But no, we just I what I ended up doing was I ended up making
- 15:04like a tea. I tried to collect as many of
- 15:07the herbs that are mentioned in the 9 herbs charm to kind of
- 15:11make this infusion of a liquid and I got most of them.
- 15:16You know, obviously there were some things that either weren't
- 15:18growing around here or that I just couldn't obtain.
- 15:22But I, you know, I got probably more than half of the 9 charms.
- 15:25I got probably about 5:00 or so of the mentioned 9 charms or,
- 15:29you know, something close to it, not of the, of the 9 herbs of
- 15:32that charm. And, you know, let it kind of
- 15:35simmer and steep in a in a in a pot that morning, transferred
- 15:40over into a bowl when we got there and then used a a sprig of
- 15:44cedar as the hot Tang to dip into it and then bless the
- 15:48people with and give them a blessing as I went through and
- 15:51did it. So, you know, it was it was it
- 15:55was nice and and everybody appreciated it and they
- 15:58everybody got something out of it.
- 16:02Sculd it works is I have Oh yeah, I have that feeling as
- 16:06well every time that I hold ritual in my backyard.
- 16:10No fence. Our backyard, you know, where I
- 16:15live is, is, you know, it's a, it's a trailer Park Community, a
- 16:19nice one, but we're still, you know, next to another family's
- 16:25home with no privacy fence. We have a chain link fence to
- 16:29keep our pets in, in contained areas, but we don't have, you
- 16:32know, a privacy fence. So, you know, but they, they
- 16:36keep to themselves and they keep their blinds closed.
- 16:38So it's, it works out well. Like what we do in that side of
- 16:40the house. We, we are respectful of other
- 16:42people, but we don't get super crazy wild and loud and
- 16:45disruptive. But I get it.
- 16:47It's a little bit different though, when you're in like a
- 16:49public park and there's, you know, families of kids and, and
- 16:52other things going on around you.
- 16:56Voodoo Vikings, is that the few times that I've done public
- 16:59ritual always, always went tits up.
- 17:05Well, you know, I, I, I, I can't say that, you know, this time
- 17:12or, you know, or any time that you, that you have something
- 17:14isn't, you know, something could there's always a potentiality
- 17:17for it. So I mean, just use it as a
- 17:18learning experience. You know, Asian market sell food
- 17:22grade pig's blood in Brits. Yeah, but each state has its
- 17:26way. Yeah, we have, I mean, a lot of
- 17:28the international markets here do sell it.
- 17:31They just didn't have any, you know, so they definitely cook
- 17:39with it like the, the Latin communities and, and the Asian
- 17:43communities definitely use it to cook with.
- 17:46It's a great ingredient to cook with, you know, you know, just
- 17:49as like a as a thickener, you know what I mean?
- 17:53Something to help emulsify like a Stew or whatever with.
- 18:00Yeah, it's called it where it says next door is a parking lot
- 18:03for an Event Center. Yeah.
- 18:05So, you know, you got a lot of activity and stuff going on
- 18:08there was the Vikings saying here, yeah, Asian markets
- 18:13usually sell food grade. Oh, OK.
- 18:15Yeah. And then people have been using
- 18:21meat or alcohol instead of replacement of blood.
- 18:24So I didn't because of the nature of, you know, meat,
- 18:27especially it's, it's a lot of sugar or high sugar content, you
- 18:30know, I mean with the honey it, it gets super sticky and I
- 18:34didn't want with sprinkling people with Mead because I
- 18:38wanted something that, you know, I could bless people with.
- 18:41And if it was blood, obviously that can wash off pretty easily.
- 18:43But when you're talking about like Mead and this, you know,
- 18:45like. Sure.
- 18:46Yeah, I guess you could. Wash it off.
- 18:47But I'm like, it's spring, almost summertime.
- 18:50The flies and just the bugs and stuff.
- 18:52I'm like, this is the last thing that people are going to want is
- 18:54if it gets honey wine sprinkled on them is to have to worry
- 18:58about, you know, feeling sticky and then bugs bother them and
- 19:01this so that. So I, I went with tea, which
- 19:04again, not traditional, but because of referencing the 9
- 19:09herbs trauma said, well, this is something that we can at least
- 19:12say that the, the meaning of these herbs, you know, like the
- 19:15mugwort and the, the chamomile and the lamb's Crest and the
- 19:20crabapple and, you know, all the various things that are
- 19:24mentioned in the 9 herbs charm have various meanings for the,
- 19:29for their use associated with them in a, in a ritual sense.
- 19:33So maybe they weren't used for teas.
- 19:35However, it was, it was my way of trying to incorporate that
- 19:38into the ritual, the meanings of everything and explaining it to
- 19:41people, what the importance of it was.
- 19:42And then giving them the chance to research it themselves and
- 19:44say, hey, you know, learn something about what the 9 herbs
- 19:46charm is and, and its significance to, you know,
- 19:54medicine and, and, and even ritual ceremony and things.
- 20:00It's called it or sorry Voodoo Vikings is made blood sausage
- 20:04and that's when I always I've gotten blood.
- 20:05Yeah blood sausage. It's delicious if you've never
- 20:08had it before right. It's good stuff and then scald
- 20:11it works is alcohol is frowned upon in public spaces as well
- 20:16without a license. Yeah.
- 20:17And listen like we I I I did bring Mead.
- 20:22I brought enough as as the gift to the divine.
- 20:25You know, that was our gift to the gods for cigar bloat because
- 20:29blood wasn't an option, you know, from a traditional sense.
- 20:35The blood usually being the offering of the animal that was
- 20:37consumed at bloat or during bloat.
- 20:40The the blood was what the gift to the divine was.
- 20:44So we bless the people with that tea mixed with some of the herbs
- 20:48mentioned in the 9 herbs charm. And then the gift to the gods
- 20:51was alcohol. We brought some of Raven
- 20:54Moonheart's Mead and poured it into a bowl.
- 20:57And there was no consumption of it, but it was there for
- 20:59religious purposes, you know, and it was kept in that context
- 21:04throughout the whole event. There was, it was not out on the
- 21:07dining table. So even if like, let's just say
- 21:09off a whim, like, you know, law enforcement wants to show up and
- 21:12give us crap about it, There was, we had religious, what do
- 21:18you call that exemption? You know, so even it was, it was
- 21:27only just, you know, like a, a little bit enough to pour into
- 21:30a, a small offering bowl. Yeah.
- 21:36Blood in heat ain't much better. It does, it gets sticky.
- 21:38I mean, yeah, it's, I know. I've, I've been, I've, I've
- 21:40slaughtered plenty of cattle to know what blood gets like after
- 21:43it gets on you. So it all worked out actually
- 21:46pretty well considering. Yeah, you get, you know, it's,
- 21:51it's an animal product, you know what I mean?
- 21:52So when it does warm up, it, it tends to turn and it smells not
- 21:57so nice. It stinks.
- 22:00So getting it on you and and having to deal with it and you
- 22:02know it because we didn't have it available to us and it was
- 22:05being in a public park, it actually kind of worked out.
- 22:08I didn't say it kind of worked out.
- 22:09Well, it worked out perfectly. It was, it was the right thing
- 22:12for us not to have blood in the public park.
- 22:18Schizo over here on YouTube says that in, in my mind, your
- 22:24intention was known and that's what was shared by everybody.
- 22:29You know, that I asked for feedback about it was it was
- 22:34appreciated and and the intentions of, you know, what I
- 22:38went through into doing this. You know, I had a purpose in
- 22:40mind why I wanted to, to, to it's cigar blow, right?
- 22:47So we want to celebrate our victory.
- 22:48So I wanted, I wanted more to be about that than about the, the
- 22:53various mechanics of the ritual. You know, I wanted, I wanted the
- 22:58ritual ceremony parts to, to mention, you know, you know,
- 23:02where, where, as you know, as warriors seek victory in battle
- 23:04and as farmers seek victory in their crops and as, and as
- 23:07travelers seek victory in their, in their journeyings, You know,
- 23:10like we are also seeking victories over the struggles of
- 23:13our lives and no matter what we're going through, right?
- 23:14Like celebrate those victories and use those wins to help us
- 23:18achieve even more and, and win more victories.
- 23:22And, you know, and, and even the downfalls or the pitfalls or
- 23:24the, OR the things when times go tits up, as we Viking says, you
- 23:29know, that we, that we use those moments as opportunities to
- 23:33learn, you know, so it was very nice, you know, to, to be able
- 23:41to serve the people that, that type of medicine, you know,
- 23:45that, that type of experience and to be there to partake of it
- 23:50with them. It was my first, again, you
- 23:52know, public ritual. So it was, it was an honor to,
- 23:56to be in the position to, to serve that type of thing and to
- 24:00be there to, to experience it with everybody.
- 24:06ANYWAYS, going into kind of, let's say the main topic of the
- 24:10show, but you know, something that I wanted to breach as a
- 24:13topic here. This is one that might strike a
- 24:16lot of people because of their personal feelings.
- 24:20So feel free to chime in in the comments if you want.
- 24:23But it came through as a comment from one of my patrons on
- 24:26Patreon. He also follows me here on
- 24:27Facebook, but I've redacted his last name just for the sake.
- 24:31Of anonymity. I very crudely redacted it.
- 24:35It's, it's scribbled out, but I'm going to read it out loud
- 24:39because in case you miss it or you don't want to pause your
- 24:42screen or whatever after it's been up.
- 24:45This gentleman was watching the anniversary podcast.
- 24:48So last month's live stream, I had a bunch of panelists that
- 24:52come on the show, a bunch of friends of mine and guests
- 24:55attend that live stream. And they were, as you know, like
- 24:57four or five of us all on screen together.
- 25:00And one of the things that came up during that topic was
- 25:04organizations or the just organization in general, right?
- 25:07Having order and organization in our heathen communities.
- 25:13And this prompted a question from Robert.
- 25:17And he's saying, you know, with the radical rise of Islam, a
- 25:20religion that will kill us for our faith, do we need to be more
- 25:25organized? And I guess we meaning like
- 25:28heathens. And he says, you know, many
- 25:30heathens wine. And I like how you put wine
- 25:32with, you know, like as in the drink, but, you know, complain
- 25:36or whine about Christianity. But Islam is another beast
- 25:41altogether. And I wouldn't, I wouldn't
- 25:45necessarily disagree, you know, with that sentiment.
- 25:52But I'm going to tell you something.
- 25:54Any organized religion and, and Christianity and Islam both have
- 25:59been known as being the power religions of the world, you
- 26:07know, the most more powerful religions of the world because
- 26:14both religions have killed people for or in the name of
- 26:23their God, in the name of their religion, you know, and it's
- 26:27really just a testament, I think of what religion can do to
- 26:31people on a much smaller scale. We've, we've seen instances
- 26:38where, you know, people who claim to be heathens
- 26:46misappropriate and misuse symbols and figures of our lore
- 26:51and, and names of sagas and things and different, you know,
- 26:54the symbols and, and, and all that.
- 26:56To, to, to do. Things of a villainous nature of
- 27:00a, of a dishonorable nature, or they hurt people or they, they
- 27:04bring harm to people to the point of, of, of killing them
- 27:08also, you know, in the name of what they believe in.
- 27:14So, you know, the threat of organized religion, whether you
- 27:21know, whatever you want to, you know, and I don't know what what
- 27:24kind of sparked this with with the focus on on Islam more so
- 27:29than Christianity. Because, you know, the heathenry
- 27:31never had a time, at least that I'm not aware of, that the
- 27:35Muslims were going after heathens to try and convert them
- 27:38to Islam. That was happening with
- 27:43Christians when the Christian Franks under Charlemagne, you
- 27:48know, went to convert the Saxons during that, during the Saxon
- 27:51wars, it was violent. It was convert or die, you know,
- 27:56and it was convert to Christianity.
- 28:01Nothing like that happened towards Christian, towards
- 28:04heathens from, from, from Muslims.
- 28:09But the Muslims have to have their own dark history and their
- 28:12dark parts. I'm, I'm very good friends with
- 28:17the, with an Islamic gentleman who's also a content creator.
- 28:22Doesn't, he doesn't do religious or, or Islamic, you know,
- 28:26content. He's, he's more of a food
- 28:28content creator type of person. But he's, I mean, he's very
- 28:32devout in his beliefs. I don't know how devout.
- 28:35I mean, I don't want to speak out of turn with regards to how
- 28:40he, how devoutly he practices. I'll just say that, you know, on
- 28:45their holy tides, you know, I'm always sending him
- 28:48acknowledgments. You know, whether it's Ramadan
- 28:50or whether it's Ed or whatever it might be that I know is is
- 28:54going on, I'll, I'll send an acknowledgement.
- 28:57He is a you. Know white American man from,
- 29:01from West Virginia and he speaks Arabic like fluently, you know,
- 29:04like, so he takes his religion seriously, at least enough to
- 29:08the point of learning the language.
- 29:10And he's, he's the opposite of, of what you, you know, hear of a
- 29:16lot of in the negative media of, of, of Islamic radicals and
- 29:20stuff. And I think that's, that's,
- 29:22that's the operative word, right, guys?
- 29:23It's, you know, any religion, no matter what, whether, whether
- 29:26it's Christianity, whether it's Islam, you know, whether it's
- 29:31these, these heathens, they're all radical extremists.
- 29:35And, and anybody that uses their religion to, you know, bring
- 29:40harm to others, you know, they're, they're, they're
- 29:45poisoned. They, they've, they've taken
- 29:48what their doctrine is and, and they've twisted it.
- 29:51Now there are, you know, certain things.
- 29:54I think, you know, you study religion, you study theology
- 29:56enough and you're going to find things about any doctrine, you
- 30:00know, that is a horrible for, for modern context or for any
- 30:05point in time, really. You think about like, you know,
- 30:08wow, you know, like the, some of the stuff that you read about in
- 30:11the, in the Christian Old Testament or the in, in Judeic
- 30:14test, you know, some of the old Levitical laws in the old things
- 30:17from, from that period of time. It was brutal.
- 30:20It was terrible stuff, you know, and, and it's been the cause of
- 30:24the reason why a lot of folks abandoned those religions, you
- 30:27know, and myself included. I won't, I won't shy away from
- 30:30that, you know, admission to say that one of the things that led
- 30:38me away from, from my, from my upbringing in, in a, in a sort
- 30:43of Christian worldview was, was reaching a point in my life
- 30:48where I stopped believing what I was told and, and just being LED
- 30:54blindly, just believing what I was being told.
- 30:56Started thinking for myself and started researching for myself
- 30:59and started, you know, testing and improving things, you know,
- 31:07after I get to the point, after I got to a certain point that I,
- 31:10you know, there were certain things just didn't sit right
- 31:11with me, you know, and I was not met with answers that I felt
- 31:17were sufficient to justify the actions, You know, and I've
- 31:28talked a bit about it over the years too, 'cause I mean, I'm,
- 31:30I'm going on, you know, about 10 years now of, of being a
- 31:34heathen. And, you know, those early years
- 31:40while my parents were still alive and, and having them ask
- 31:49me about what I believed in because it was obvious that I
- 31:51wasn't, you know, I didn't just come out and tell them one day,
- 31:55hey, guess what, Mom and dad, you know, I'm a Pagan, you know,
- 31:58I'm a heathen because I knew how that was going to go.
- 32:00You know, based on my upbringing, I knew that those
- 32:02were, those were, those are the bad guys, right?
- 32:06For, for the Christians and stuff.
- 32:08And then what I believed in those is, you know, that's not
- 32:11what you want to be labeled as they're known as.
- 32:13So I'm like, I'm not going to just openly tell them about it.
- 32:16But I'm also not going to be untrue to what I believe and
- 32:20what was calling to me and what I felt like I wanted to, to
- 32:23pursue. But when the inevitable day came
- 32:27for my parents to ask me a question, what do you believe in
- 32:31exactly? I couldn't lie.
- 32:34I didn't want to lie. I had to be honest.
- 32:36And I think, you know, once that happened and once they knew,
- 32:41they didn't want to be educated, they didn't want to know
- 32:42anymore. They heard the word heathen,
- 32:44they heard the word Pagan and they go up, you know, Jesse's
- 32:49the devil, Jesse's possessed. Jesse is the enemy now.
- 32:53And didn't matter what I was doing, you know, with the good
- 32:56works that the, the things that I was doing to help them, it's,
- 33:02it was, you know, you're not, you don't believe what we
- 33:05believe anymore. You're not following Jesus
- 33:09Christ, you're not following God, you know, and this and that
- 33:11and you're. So therefore it doesn't matter
- 33:14what you're doing. And I, I couldn't, I asked, I
- 33:17said, you know, I thought your doctrine says that, you know, we
- 33:20are known by our works and that faith without those works is
- 33:24dead. So what, what, what matters if,
- 33:26if, if what I believe doesn't exactly line up with your faith?
- 33:30I'm, I'm my, I'm being known. I should be known by my works.
- 33:33And this is my, the works that I do, are they good or are they
- 33:38bad? If you're going, if you're going
- 33:40to be that absolute about things, if you're going to deal
- 33:42in absolutes, you know, you're going to say that I'm evil,
- 33:46right? Because if I'm either good or
- 33:48evil, I'm either one or the other.
- 33:49There's no middle area with you guys.
- 33:50If I'm one or the other, then look at my works and judge me by
- 33:54my works. If you're going to judge me, you
- 33:56know, or not, judge me. But if you're going to judge
- 33:58anything, judge the works I do and do the works that I do.
- 34:01Are they good or are they not? And I, I never got a clear
- 34:06answer from them about about that.
- 34:09So you know, I had to kind of accept the fact that it was, you
- 34:19know, them against me. Phoenix samurai over here on
- 34:25YouTube just commented. I think that some organization
- 34:28can be a good thing for Norse paganism, especially since part
- 34:33of what we know is so fragmented.
- 34:36With that being said, watch the sources you select to learn
- 34:40from. Oh yeah, sorry to yeah, so I got
- 34:46your, yeah, I saw a point PPT, but I got the, you know, a lot.
- 34:50So so yeah, I mean, like, and let's explore this, you know,
- 34:53let's explore the, the organization for, you know,
- 34:58Norse paganism. And and this is this is one of
- 35:00those things where I don't like to split hairs too much with
- 35:03people, but I I do want to make a differentiation between
- 35:07certain things. Norse paganism, you know, that's
- 35:12its own thing. Germanic Heathenry, you know,
- 35:15that's its own thing. Also true is its own thing.
- 35:19Also do is its own thing. Foreign, save it says is its own
- 35:23thing. Anglo-Saxon Heathenry is its own
- 35:28thing. Fayette ISM, they're they're
- 35:32their own thing. You know what I mean?
- 35:33There's there's all these various components.
- 35:35So it is to, you know, to put heathenry and lump it under one
- 35:40category. Like it's yes, there's a lot of
- 35:43similarities. Yes, there are a lot of things
- 35:44that we can we speak a lot of the same language when it comes
- 35:48to the belief of the Norse gods, Germanic gods, right ancestor
- 35:55worship or veneration, the land spirits and the OR the whites or
- 35:58the Vaitir, you know, like these are terms and these are things
- 36:00that we can all relate with. But there's certain things about
- 36:08Germanic Heathenry, Germanic polytheism, Germanic paganism, I
- 36:11guess that is not all the same, you know, And so it needs to be
- 36:17the, the, the organization, I think that we're that we're
- 36:20wanting to maybe see happen is that more of the groups that are
- 36:27doing what they're doing. So, you know, if, if the also
- 36:29true people want to do what they're doing and, and they want
- 36:33to follow a Wiccan wheel of the year and whatever, then fine,
- 36:36all well and good. Do your thing and be organized
- 36:38with it and be to come together to, to, to, to form a coalition
- 36:42or a confederacy or a unification of, of things.
- 36:45There's, there's just too much infighting that's going on.
- 36:48You know, people talk about Robert was talking about, you
- 36:50know, organization and worrying about the other religions
- 36:53killing us or putting us down and we're doing it to ourselves.
- 36:57Pagans are are are ruining them themselves with the fickle BS
- 37:02that they fight about, you know? Hey, he, he, he.
- 37:06Called me a name. She, you know, said this to my
- 37:09husband. I, you know, he smells funny,
- 37:12you know, whatever it's, it's all this fickle stuff that
- 37:14nobody wants to work through and get, get sorted.
- 37:16And it can be get it can be sorted rightly, it can be done.
- 37:20But Nope, we're going to, we're going to just bicker and we're
- 37:23going to fight. And then, and then when these
- 37:25people over here want to fight and they can't agree what are,
- 37:29what are those people going to do?
- 37:30They're going to, they're going to go over here to this other
- 37:31side of the town, the other side of the state where they're going
- 37:34to make their own group where everybody else can get along and
- 37:35they could be all happy, go lucky and this and that.
- 37:37Look, how are you going to be able to resolve conflict unless
- 37:40you're facing the conflict? So I'm not so much worried about
- 37:44the outside as I am about what's going on within and in all this
- 37:47infighting. So all that works is they try to
- 37:50stay away from mentioning belief names like Pagan or heathen
- 37:53when, when someone asks me what I believe in, because I usually
- 37:56see that or I usually see that I believe that all things contain
- 38:01a spirit and consciousness and that's beautiful.
- 38:06That's very animistic and Heathenry is, you know, it fits
- 38:11well, animism is, is something that fits really well into a
- 38:17heathen worldview. And even that, you know what I
- 38:23mean? Like even that, like I've seen
- 38:25so many posts online from people that see native indigenous song
- 38:32being sung, you know, drummings and, and prayers and, and, and
- 38:37certain ceremonial things that get shared online.
- 38:39And I see, you know, people dogging the shit out of those
- 38:43practices, talking about how it's devil worship or this that
- 38:46the ignorance just that comes through people online.
- 38:48Just, I don't know if it's just to seek attention.
- 38:51You know, maybe they're lonely at night and they don't have
- 38:54enough people that call them or text them or whatever.
- 38:56I don't know. But even the purest of things
- 39:03that cause no harm to others are getting ripped apart by the
- 39:08ignorant. So wherein do our obligations
- 39:12lie when it comes to stuff like that?
- 39:13You know, we as, as, as heathens who do practice, however openly
- 39:17we decide to, to do so. You know, like I talked about
- 39:22having a ritual in a public park, you know, Well, is it, is
- 39:29it our right? Should we be able to attend a, a
- 39:33City Park or a county park? A public space, should we be
- 39:36able to be out in nature and enjoy one another's company and
- 39:41express our beliefs, our spiritual beliefs.
- 39:45And I'm going to say the word religious beliefs, but I'm going
- 39:47to say it cautiously because I understand the implications that
- 39:51religion has when you talk about organized religions, big
- 39:55religions, right? Religion is a man made thing.
- 39:58It's a man made construct and it's meant to control.
- 40:02It's meant to put fear and to control people.
- 40:07I'm talking about religion or religiosity, the religious
- 40:11aspects of our beliefs in the context of our relationship with
- 40:16the divine, not necessarily spirit.
- 40:19You know, the, the, the things like Blake from Scarlett works
- 40:22is talking about everything has a spirit and a consciousness.
- 40:25You know, the animistic side of things.
- 40:26That is, those are those are things that exist within our
- 40:29profane space and time. They may not be visible to the
- 40:32naked eye, to us all the times, but they exist in our space and
- 40:35time. When I'm talking about the gods,
- 40:38the sacred, the divine, you know these are in sacred space and
- 40:42time and therefore to to to classify them in a different
- 40:47category. I use the term religious right.
- 40:50So understand the context in which I'm using religious right.
- 40:53So when pagans are hedons, how you want to label find
- 40:56themselves in a space, A public space, and they want to express
- 40:59themselves in, in the religious nature of what they believe in.
- 41:04You can't just go out and start drumming and hooting and
- 41:07hollering and lighting a fire and then doing things that are
- 41:11disruptive to the public. That could be seen as, you know,
- 41:14red flags. You know, it's, you got to be,
- 41:17we got to think a bit about our, our, our, our, how we're
- 41:22projected, how we're, how we're presenting ourselves to the
- 41:26public, You know, because listen, like I, you know, I
- 41:29wanted our, our gatherings or I would like our gatherings to be
- 41:32welcoming to people who are going, wow, you know, looks like
- 41:36you guys are having a nice time. Or I saw that, that, that table
- 41:39that you have over there with the incense and the, you know,
- 41:41the little statues, you know, what is, what is that?
- 41:43Maybe they're curious, Maybe they see something that is
- 41:46spirit trying to reach them. Maybe maybe something in their
- 41:51spirit is, is lighting a fire or sparking an interest in them to
- 41:57want to ask a question. So into to be approachable and
- 41:59to be conducting ourselves in a way that brings honor to what we
- 42:06believe in and brings honor to our ancestors and, and upholds
- 42:09us in an honorable way. You know, I think that's
- 42:11important. So to be out here just, you
- 42:13know, acting a fool in a public space, it, it's, it's a bad,
- 42:18it's a bad look. You know, it's not a good
- 42:21representation of our of our beliefs, however you want to
- 42:24classify them or in whatever category you want to put them.
- 42:28Scarlet Works is noting that some people are afraid or some
- 42:33people who people who are afraid of magic secretly believe in
- 42:37magic. The same goes for other pagans.
- 42:39They act as if we can harm them. Yeah.
- 42:43You know, like people fear what they don't understand.
- 42:48That's been the case for for a long time.
- 42:51You know, it's people are afraid of what they don't understand
- 42:54and what they can't explain. So, you know, seeing a group of
- 42:57people who are standing around in a circle or a semi circle
- 42:59around, you know, an altar, you know, and they're they're
- 43:04reciting prayers or they're saying or they're doing things
- 43:07that maybe in an anguish that they don't understand.
- 43:10It can look very intimidating and frightening even.
- 43:15But there's an allure, you know, like, I think you like you bring
- 43:17up a good point. Their skull, it works.
- 43:19Like people that say they don't believe in it.
- 43:20There's this like mystique about it, you know, there's this
- 43:25interest to want to explore that side of things.
- 43:30So, yeah, Skeeto, the entire world is going insane and people
- 43:34can't live and let live even for minor disagreements.
- 43:38They just they, you know, and I blame social media, you know, I
- 43:43mean, hell, here's a platform that I'm kind of moderating in a
- 43:48way, but I'm using a third party, you know, I'm using a
- 43:51platform to put thoughts and stuff out here.
- 43:54And you know, people are free to to express how they feel and
- 44:00what they want to say even up even right now.
- 44:03I mean, I could, I could be going about this a totally
- 44:06different way. And I'm sure, you know, you
- 44:08know, you look back on enough of my content, you're going to see
- 44:10some some wacky comments. You know, people could just you
- 44:12could, you could easily just scroll by, you know, but no,
- 44:15people like to set themselves out and get the and try to get
- 44:18the attention that they so desperately need.
- 44:21The the, you know, the validation.
- 44:25That's really mostly what it's about.
- 44:28Hey there, Azure Phoenix. Great to see you here again on
- 44:33the live stream, they say over there on YouTube.
- 44:35So if you want people to learn, you have to be willing to teach
- 44:41in, in my opinion, the the unwillingness to teach and to
- 44:44share is a big problem in many spaces.
- 44:49Yeah, that's true schizo she's or they're agreeing.
- 44:52Sorry that I believe that the believe and let others believe
- 44:56as they live or as they like. But if someone asks, I'll tell
- 44:59them and invite them to share with me in return.
- 45:03And yes, you know, you bring up a good point there that you
- 45:06know, to if, if, if you, if you want people to learn, then you
- 45:08should be willing to teach and you know.
- 45:16Always a student. I've been, you know, I've been
- 45:20even for 10 years roughly now close to nearing, I guess if I
- 45:24have to. I, I didn't like mark a calendar
- 45:27or whatever, but I know that I'm in my 10th year and I've been
- 45:32looked at in the community in my area, as, you know, a teacher
- 45:38and I have this platform, you know, so people, you know, I,
- 45:42I've even had people come up to me in person and be like, I want
- 45:45to call you brother because you know, what you say means so much
- 45:48to me. And I'm like, I don't know you,
- 45:50man. I don't know you like that,
- 45:52don't like, I'm not trying to be mean, but I mean, back, back
- 45:56off, you know, like, I appreciate that you feel that
- 46:00way. It's nice for you to think that
- 46:03that's, you know, like if there's a kinship between us,
- 46:05but until we get to know each other more or better, you know,
- 46:10reserve that title. Don't, don't, please don't just
- 46:12use that title of kinship. So casually, you know, know who
- 46:19the people you are talking to and interacting with and
- 46:21engaging with before you ever get to the point of wanting to,
- 46:26you know, exchange titles of kinship with them.
- 46:30Or, and at least understand and respect the fact that if they
- 46:33don't want to give you that name or that title in return, that
- 46:39it's not a dis, you know, disrespect or it's not an insult
- 46:43towards you. That person could be very
- 46:46particular about who they bestow that title upon.
- 46:49So if you address them in a familial way and they don't
- 46:52return the favour, try not to take it seriously or, or
- 46:56personally, I should say, because it's, or maybe just ask,
- 46:59you know, like, Hey, I've been calling you this, does this
- 47:01bother you? You know what I mean?
- 47:03I don't care. Like if people want to call me
- 47:04that, I'm not going to, I've said it enough.
- 47:06I'm not going to beat a dead horse about it.
- 47:08But I'm also, I also stand by what I believe and I'm not going
- 47:12to just throw that title out to anybody.
- 47:14But in the same way, you know, when I, what are, you know, when
- 47:18I do encounter those people and they're like, well, you know,
- 47:19what can I call you? Oh man, I'm just Jessie, you
- 47:22know, like, and they're like, what about mentor?
- 47:24What about teacher? I'm like, listen, the title
- 47:27means just, it's, I'm just doing something that I, I enjoy doing,
- 47:32first of all, and I, you know, people like it.
- 47:34And so, you know, I'm not too worried about the title thing.
- 47:41You know what I mean? Like it, I'm still learning,
- 47:44always a student, you know, so I look up to people that are
- 47:46teachers of, of to me and, and my mentors, you know, and if
- 47:50people want to look at me and, and, and see me as, as something
- 47:53like that, I'm honored. And I only wish to continue to
- 47:59uphold that expectation. You know, if if if that that's
- 48:02where people who come in through me or come to me and see me as
- 48:07such that. Well, then let me live up to the
- 48:10to the responsibility and to the obligation.
- 48:12And as you say, as you're Phoenix right, like your
- 48:14obligation as a teacher is, you know, or you wanted people to
- 48:18learn is to teach and to be approachable and to and to come
- 48:22to it from an angle of helping and inviting them.
- 48:27You know, some people don't want to learn no matter how hard you
- 48:34try. Yeah, I mean, like, you know,
- 48:35you can and I've run into plenty of people like that.
- 48:39There's a skull that works is just saying you know some people
- 48:42you can you can you can tell them everything you can.
- 48:45You know it's an old saying you'll lead a horse to water.
- 48:48You know you can't make people believe something and you can't
- 48:51make people learn something they have They have to want to learn
- 48:55themselves. It has it has to be something
- 48:58that they want to learn. Thank you Azure Phoenix there
- 49:04learned a lot that the random heathen ramblings.
- 49:08It's, it's the, it's been one of the most enjoyable things that
- 49:12I've done on this, on this platform.
- 49:14You know, it's a great way for me to share what I'm learning
- 49:19and talk outwardly and openly and then have some guests and
- 49:22stuff that come on and, and we have these great dialogues and
- 49:26then seeing the folks like yourself come on here and, and,
- 49:28and share your thoughts too. You cannot teach someone
- 49:32anything that they aren't interested in knowing.
- 49:36They have to want to know it themselves.
- 49:38They have to want to learn. They have to want to be willing.
- 49:40You know, they have to, they have to be willing.
- 49:43You know, it's like, you know, giving somebody your opinion or
- 49:51your thoughts, you know, half the time what, what's the
- 49:54response? You know?
- 49:55Oh, thanks, but I don't remember asking you.
- 49:59You know, they get defensive, they get mad when you try to
- 50:03show care, you know, show interest in in to the point of
- 50:06wanting to help. Well, let them ask for it then.
- 50:12I guess is is is what I've come to learn.
- 50:18What else here? Oh, efficiencies.
- 50:20OK, Azure Phoenix is I wonder if it's too much more difficult to
- 50:23have a clannish or tribal mentality in a digital digital
- 50:28age. You know, it's different if you
- 50:31grow up that way, understanding it.
- 50:33You know, that's a really great point.
- 50:37I the way I grew up, even though it wasn't heathen, it was quite
- 50:43honestly a cult, cultish, you know, Christian cult type stuff.
- 50:50But it had a very strong sense of community at the tribal
- 50:54level. You know, everybody's,
- 50:57everybody's families were very closely integrated in our
- 51:01gatherings, in our, in our, you know, our time together was very
- 51:05close and very personal and it was frequent, you know, so we
- 51:08had a lot of interactions and dealings with one another and we
- 51:13looked out for one another, you know, people looked out for each
- 51:15other. And, and, and we, we, I remember
- 51:17growing up and it was like, you know, as, as the, the limited,
- 51:22the least amount of, of dealings that we had to, to have with the
- 51:25outside world outside of our little community, there was,
- 51:29was, was desirable. So the least amount of outside
- 51:32influence, the better. And flash, flash forward or Fast
- 51:38forward all these years later into Heathenry and I start, you
- 51:42know, realizing, wow, you know, this is a very regional belief
- 51:44system. This was a very, you know,
- 51:45tribally focused societal thing, you know, people.
- 51:49It was, it was small groups and small units that, you know,
- 51:53helped each other out in communities like that way.
- 51:56And so it resonated with me and I'm like, yeah, I get that
- 52:01because I kind of was raised in that sort of thing.
- 52:05But for people that aren't brought up in it to be exposed
- 52:09to that. Yeah, I, I, I fully agree that
- 52:15it's very difficult to be, to integrate into, into, into
- 52:19something like that, having had no prior experience, because
- 52:23most of what we are in nowadays in the way kids and, and, and
- 52:26people young people are, are raised is everything's long
- 52:29distance. There's no consequences for your
- 52:31actions. You're your own person, you
- 52:33know, love yourself and and you know, nobody's going to help you
- 52:39in this and that. And it's, it's very
- 52:40individualistic. You know, it's not tribalistic.
- 52:43There's no, I don't maybe said say that there's no sense of
- 52:49community, but the sense of community is kind of jaded
- 52:53through a, in a false sense 'cause you look at, you know,
- 52:57online spaces and oh, I got a group full of 2000 members or
- 53:015000 members or 30,000 followers or 20,000 subscribers or 100
- 53:06million views and wow, look at me.
- 53:08Look how important I am. Guess what, Jack, not even 1% of
- 53:13those people are going to care about you if you drop off the
- 53:15face of the earth tomorrow. They're not going to be there
- 53:19for you when you need them in the real way, you know, So it's,
- 53:24it's, it's a lost, it's a lost thing.
- 53:28But I hope that it, it's something that's, that's brought
- 53:31up more the way the world's going, it's, it's going to be
- 53:32needed. Azure Phoenix says.
- 53:36It's hard to know what your place is and what your
- 53:38responsibilities are and what standard of honor you're to
- 53:42upheld or uphold when it's so fragmented and scattered.
- 53:52Really great comments, by the way, Azure Phoenix.
- 53:54I appreciate you chiming in. Yeah, it is, it's, it's, it's
- 54:01hard, you know, And, and that's The thing is when, when you
- 54:06know, because if you look at it through a, through a heathen
- 54:08lens, how what, what was honor? You know, like honor was
- 54:11something that was demanded. It was something that was upheld
- 54:16at the community level. You know, it was, it was
- 54:20bestowed upon you by your deeds. You know, your, your, your deeds
- 54:23determined your honor and then your and the people were the
- 54:27ones who said or, or you know, it was upheld by the people you
- 54:32know. So if, if you're, if something
- 54:34was, was done that was dishonorable, it was the people
- 54:37recognized it and it was, it was, they held each other
- 54:40accountable. And there were, there was
- 54:42accountability, There was that, there was that sense of keeping
- 54:48things in balance, you know, and if you were, if you were
- 54:52dishonorable, if you did something that was villainous or
- 54:57criminal, like there was penalties to be paid.
- 54:59And it was, you know, we have that in place now.
- 55:01We have laws, you know, criminals are supposed to, you
- 55:03know, be subject to law. And we're all subject to the law
- 55:08of, of our respective states or, or, you know, countries and
- 55:13regions and not wherever it is that you're where is it that
- 55:17you're living? But, you know, when you break it
- 55:20down, you get down to that, you know, very, very close, insular
- 55:24level of things. That governance, you know, how,
- 55:30how the people are ordered and, and how the people are living
- 55:33is, is, is on a much smaller scale.
- 55:36So they don't have that sense if they're not.
- 55:43Yeah, if if they're if they're not held up to that, you know,
- 55:45they don't want pulled at themselves.
- 55:46And if there's no shared belief in that, you know, there needs
- 55:50to be a, a shared understanding, a shared belief.
- 55:57Otherwise you're just one person doing things your way and, and,
- 56:01you know, living, living a life that is, you know, based on
- 56:04whatever world views, how however they're informed, it's,
- 56:08it's just, you know, whatever you feel is right, whatever,
- 56:12whatever works for you and, and nobody else is involved.
- 56:14Nobody else is a part of it, so it's a much different way of
- 56:22looking at things that Azure Phoenix is going on again.
- 56:27And with the great comments here, accountability is hard to
- 56:30enforce. You get kicked out of the chat
- 56:33group, So what? Go to another chat group?
- 56:37Problem solved. Can we actually enforce honor
- 56:43anymore, you know, on the grand scale of things, on a large
- 56:53scale, you know, Heathenry, It's no, not not because it's never
- 56:59going to be this, this great big universal belief system.
- 57:03It never was that to begin with. So trying to make it that, you
- 57:06know, as, you know, trying to turn a banana into an orange,
- 57:09let a banana be a banana, man, you know, keep, don't, don't,
- 57:13don't, don't try to turn it into something that it's not.
- 57:16And, and trying to, you know, globalize heathenry, you know,
- 57:21turn it into this, this, this, this universal belief system for
- 57:27all pagans. And you know, dramatic pagans
- 57:29like, oh, we all believe the same thing.
- 57:31No, no, no, Sometimes there's there's things that are very
- 57:35specific to a certain group, you know, like for instance, the
- 57:38holy tides. You know, well when you're going
- 57:40to do it, you're going to follow the Wiccan wheel of the year
- 57:42and, and, and do your, you know, have your holidays on the, the
- 57:46Sabbats or are you going to follow a lunar solar reckoning
- 57:51of time, the way that the old ways documents things are being
- 57:55done prior to, to, to Christianity?
- 57:58And are you going to keep the holidays that are documented in
- 58:00the sources? And are you going to do it in a
- 58:02historical way, you know, and all these things so like trust
- 58:13and loyalty, you know, we're talking about things like honor,
- 58:15truth, loyalty. That's another concept that is
- 58:21so far removed from from, from, you know, from people nowadays,
- 58:27even from people who you think would know better.
- 58:34And how do you and how do you enforce it?
- 58:42You're either going to have your own sets of customs with people,
- 58:48you know, like in your own groups of things, You're you're
- 58:50gonna have your own sets of of laws or customs that that demand
- 58:54the upholding of such things to the point that if it's not
- 58:58maintained, then there will be penalties.
- 59:01You know, to pay the shield, to pay the wearer Guild, whatever
- 59:05you want to term, you want to put to it.
- 59:08That's the only way of of, you know, smaller groups being able
- 59:12to, I think, kind of govern themselves, you know, at at that
- 59:16level of things. So if if honor has been damaged,
- 59:19if loyalty has been broken in betrayal has been, you know, if
- 59:25if people have been betrayed, then then then it's you know,
- 59:29you've got to you've got to pay the shield.
- 59:32You've got to to pay the recompense and and whatever that
- 59:36recompense is. If if the penalty for the for
- 59:38the crime is to be, you know, pay a pay a fee, pay a penalty,
- 59:43then then so be it. But if that penalty is is you
- 59:45are no effectively need you have been outlawed now, then that's
- 59:50the penalty. Yeah, you're done messed up a a
- 59:53Ron, you're out. Go to principal Oshak Hennessy.
- 1:00:00For those of you that don't understand it to key key and
- 1:00:03Peele reference. Go look it up.
- 1:00:04You'll. You'll know what I'm talking
- 1:00:06about, but Skaldick, Skaldick here I am Sean Connery in the
- 1:00:11chat, Skaldick works says that the best way is to trust the
- 1:00:14luck of those who are closest to you.
- 1:00:19Look, man, I, I, I get the sentiment and that sounds great.
- 1:00:25Luck, Luck can come and go, man. Luck is up and down.
- 1:00:29Luck is, is, you know, can be strong some days and and and
- 1:00:32not, you know, luck has abandoned even the mightiest of
- 1:00:36kings. And so to trust luck I I again,
- 1:00:45I get what you're what you're getting at, because even those
- 1:00:49that are closest to you can, can be the ones that are betraying
- 1:00:51you. Speaking from experience, you
- 1:00:57know, if you have someone who is a swarm brother, a kinsman, you
- 1:01:02know, somebody who you swore an oath with, and then you know
- 1:01:06that person is, you know, and when oaths are sworn, you know,
- 1:01:11when, when you have that truth, that loyalty, that, that, that
- 1:01:13contract of I will be there for you.
- 1:01:16I will back you up. I will protect your honor, I
- 1:01:19will defend your honor. I will be there for you when you
- 1:01:21need me. And then, you know, they're,
- 1:01:23they're found. They find themselves in a place
- 1:01:25where your name or your honor is being attacked or questioned and
- 1:01:29they don't come to your defense. They don't speak up for you,
- 1:01:32they don't defend you. That's a betrayal of trust
- 1:01:36because that person who swore that oath, who, who said they
- 1:01:38would do what they're doing, have now proven to be
- 1:01:41untrustworthy. They have, they have, they have
- 1:01:44negated on their oath of truth. And that is an ultimate act of
- 1:01:49betrayal, man. And, and you know where you come
- 1:01:51back from that? How do you come back from that?
- 1:01:55You know, you confront the person or do you say, look,
- 1:01:58that's, that's, that's it. I'm, I'm, I'm effectively
- 1:02:01outlawing them from my life. I'm, I'm removing them from my
- 1:02:03life. I'm not gonna keeping them at
- 1:02:05arm's distance. It's because, you know, like
- 1:02:07it's a very famous, you know, stanza from the hull of them all
- 1:02:10that that refers to, you know, to a good friend, you know, you
- 1:02:14should be a good friend and, and, and to, you know, repay
- 1:02:19their kindness with kindness, but to a a false friend, be
- 1:02:24false and repay their lies with lies or their leasing with
- 1:02:28leasing or their betrayal with betrayal, right.
- 1:02:29So there's this sense of reciprocity, you know, Oh,
- 1:02:32you've betrayed me. Well, then effectively, you
- 1:02:35know, up yours, buddy. Screw you.
- 1:02:39It's a it's a, it's a, it's a tough thing to to find oneself
- 1:02:45in voodoo Viking responding to a skull that works.
- 1:02:47Is that what does one do if they don't have anyone around them
- 1:02:51that has the same worldview and belief?
- 1:02:54There you go, right, 'cause you're talking about beliefs and
- 1:02:56things that are very specific to a, a, a subset of people or, you
- 1:03:00know, belief system that some people have and you can't, you
- 1:03:04know, online, it's, it's close enough, right?
- 1:03:06There's, there's, there's shared values, there's, there's similar
- 1:03:08things. It's, it's not always, you know,
- 1:03:11you can't enforce it. And and and those online
- 1:03:14exchanges, don't you know it's not enough then the luck of the
- 1:03:23entire group you've built it with then and that takes time,
- 1:03:26you know, scald it works, you know, building the shared luck,
- 1:03:31you know, the luck that is, you know, contributed from every
- 1:03:35member of that group. You know, individual luck that
- 1:03:39is, that is poured into the well of that tribe of that group of
- 1:03:42that kindred of that unit. You know, everybody's shared,
- 1:03:47you know, sharing their, their own light, their own main, their
- 1:03:50own luck. And it becomes the luck of the
- 1:03:53tribe, you know, But again, I get what you're saying.
- 1:04:01So. OK, so yeah.
- 1:04:01Voodoo Viking says what, what, what if you don't have anyone
- 1:04:04around you, you have no tribe or group or anyone to speak with.
- 1:04:08It's it's, it's not there. You know, at that point, it's
- 1:04:10not, you know, this, the things that we're talking about here
- 1:04:13is, you know, the trail of, of kinsmen of, of, of your family,
- 1:04:18even, you know, that the people who have become close to you
- 1:04:21through whether it's, you know, marriage, whether it's through
- 1:04:24oaths being sworn, whether, you know, whatever thing it is, you
- 1:04:31know, it's, you know, this, this type of thing revolves around
- 1:04:35stuff like that. So if you don't have a tribe or
- 1:04:40group of anyone to speak with or belong to, then, you know, it's
- 1:04:42a little bit of a different dynamic.
- 1:04:44I think Weary Vikings says, you know, you could find shared
- 1:04:50values in books like The Clockwork Orange or Last of the
- 1:04:52Mohicans. And it doesn't replace actual
- 1:04:55people. Yeah.
- 1:04:56I mean, you know, you got book clubs and and, you know, you
- 1:05:00know, common interests, you know, those are interests.
- 1:05:04You know, those are, you know, there might be things about, you
- 1:05:06know, the characters or whatever that resonate with you, that,
- 1:05:10you know, resonate with other people as well.
- 1:05:14And so, you know, but I think that's a bit different than, you
- 1:05:19know, actual heathen world views of, of honor, of truth, of
- 1:05:25loyalty, of luck, of, you know, Frith, the backbone, the root of
- 1:05:32Heathenry is in Frith, you know, and then what Frith means from a
- 1:05:36societal standpoint, and it's a very deep subject.
- 1:05:39It's, it's a, it's a thing I've talked that you know a lot about
- 1:05:43over the years and, and in a lot of episodes, but it's, it's a
- 1:05:49very Frith is not just something Frith is not the fact that, you
- 1:05:53know, we like each other. We're going to be peaceful with
- 1:05:56one another and we've, we've got a few ceremonies together.
- 1:05:59And so therefore we're sharing in Frith.
- 1:06:02I mean, Frith goes way deeper than that.
- 1:06:04Those are things that can start the, the, the bonds of Frith to
- 1:06:07be, you know, established and then tying those threads
- 1:06:10together to establish that Frith web.
- 1:06:14But Frith is something that is much deeper metaphysically.
- 1:06:18It it goes beyond just a, a sense of belonging.
- 1:06:23And I like you and I want to support you.
- 1:06:28There's obligation that is inherent when it comes to Frith.
- 1:06:33It's, you know, I am, I am, I am, I am yours, you are mine.
- 1:06:38I protect you, you protect me. You know, pack mentality that
- 1:06:43that tribe mentality that's very so much about what Frith is that
- 1:06:49that just doesn't seem to get appreciated so much.
- 1:06:54It's like they they see this word Frith and, and a lot of
- 1:06:55people think that, oh, we're all we're having a nice meal
- 1:06:58together and we had a few ceremonies or ritual or bloat,
- 1:07:00whatever. And you know, hail the gods and
- 1:07:02hail the ancestors and all of a sudden we're sharing Frith Not
- 1:07:08really. It's it's it goes way deeper
- 1:07:11than that. That's again, that's a start.
- 1:07:13There's there's things about fruit that definitely involve
- 1:07:16those things that I mentioned. But where you going to be when,
- 1:07:19when shit hits the fan? You know, for me, who are my
- 1:07:25people? Who who can I rely on?
- 1:07:26And then for you, can you rely on me?
- 1:07:29Am I going to be there for you when you need me?
- 1:07:31Like that's that's what we're talking about.
- 1:07:34Where does our loyalties lie? Sometimes you have to deal with
- 1:07:37it the best you can. I mean, yeah, that's dealing
- 1:07:45with it the best you can. Sure.
- 1:07:47I don't want to say that's a passive way of love looking at
- 1:07:49it, but what is the best way that you can?
- 1:07:51So what does that mean? You know, what can you do?
- 1:07:54Make do with what you can Skull, it works.
- 1:07:56Make do with what you have and who you are and who you have it
- 1:08:00with. Make sure that ground rules are
- 1:08:04applied to establish the peace between everyone.
- 1:08:08And yeah, like, you know, accountability.
- 1:08:10We were talking about this earlier too, you know, like, and
- 1:08:14it and it touches on this, this, this desire, this, this feeling
- 1:08:20like we should be organized, let's, you know, get our shit
- 1:08:22together people and let's be here like, yeah, 'cause you
- 1:08:25can't, you can't have Frith without that, that organization,
- 1:08:29without that structure, you know, without understanding the
- 1:08:36social constructs behind it and that involve it, right.
- 1:08:44And Voodoo Viking says, yes, it's true in all dynamics.
- 1:08:46However, most of us, most of what I find is doing security on
- 1:08:52Bourbon Street and Lower 9th Ward down there in, in New
- 1:08:56Orleans. Yet none of them share beliefs.
- 1:08:59We just fight, drink and pick up strippers.
- 1:09:02Well, you know, you hang around degenerates, that's what you're
- 1:09:05going to get, man. And I'm not trying to talk down
- 1:09:07upon people, but that sounds like behavior of of, of people
- 1:09:11who have no real interest to do anything constructive with their
- 1:09:15lives. Those are those are acts and
- 1:09:18behaviors of of I mean, I'm not going to, I don't, I don't want
- 1:09:24to, you know, talk smack about people that you know, or, or
- 1:09:28whatever, But I mean, come on, like that doesn't then don't be
- 1:09:32around it. Get away from it.
- 1:09:34If you don't want, you know, if you want to have a relationship
- 1:09:37with people who have a have a better value of life and in a
- 1:09:40worldview of of things and then don't hang around people that
- 1:09:43want to fight, drink and pick up hookers, strippers, whatever.
- 1:09:47Ladies of the night, you know, ride motorcycles.
- 1:09:54Well, that's cool. I mean, you can do that and not
- 1:09:56be a an idiot. Yeah, the motorcycle brosa true,
- 1:10:02you know, till Valhalla, you know, and I'm going to to scald
- 1:10:05brother this and that Yeah, they like the aesthetic, but they're,
- 1:10:09you know, they're they're not about the the culture, they're
- 1:10:12not about the the beliefs. So, you know, I don't know, I
- 1:10:16don't know. It's people look at the, the
- 1:10:21history of the Germanic people and they and all they want to
- 1:10:24see is, is the war band type, the warrior class, you know, yes
- 1:10:29man, you know, there was that. There's also the farmers and,
- 1:10:34and, and the, the farriers and the blacksmiths and the, you
- 1:10:37know, the country folk that just wanted to live in peace and, and
- 1:10:40have their beliefs, just live in peace and, and, and believe what
- 1:10:48they want to believe. And, you know, peacefully.
- 1:10:53Sometimes organizing in smaller groups is just as good as larger
- 1:10:56organizations. I mean, it's the only way that
- 1:10:58Heathenry can, can function. If as, as far as an organization
- 1:11:02goes is at the smaller level. Look at, look at, look at, look
- 1:11:06at the, the, the outcomes of things like the AFA or even TAC
- 1:11:13or even, you know, the truth. I mean, they're these, these
- 1:11:20groups have had so many problems, man, like, and, and
- 1:11:24these are supposed to be representations of heathenry in
- 1:11:30North America or heathenry in America.
- 1:11:34At least I don't, you know, the United States.
- 1:11:38I know they have international chapters or charters or whatever
- 1:11:44the hell, you know, you want to call it, but it doesn't work
- 1:11:47that way because, you know, 11 group does one thing and then
- 1:11:51it's a whole bad representation on on this global organization.
- 1:11:56I don't like that in my Heathenry and I choose to not be
- 1:11:59a part of it because it doesn't align with what I think
- 1:12:03Heathenry should be. So smaller is better for
- 1:12:06Heathenry. I I fully support and I agree
- 1:12:10with you there. Scholar works voodoo Vikings is
- 1:12:15none taking. Listen, I, you know, I know who
- 1:12:17you are, if we do Viking, at least to the, to the extent of
- 1:12:20we've talked, you know, back and forth online a lot.
- 1:12:23So, and I know, I know who I'm talking to on the screen here,
- 1:12:30which is why I, I, I can be a bit more candid.
- 1:12:32I think, you know, so thank you for understanding.
- 1:12:36They're also the people he says that, that have my back.
- 1:12:39And that's important. You know, when, when you're in a
- 1:12:41situation like the lifestyle you're talking about, whether
- 1:12:44it's security or any other sort of, you know, you know, type of,
- 1:12:48of profession that you could be hurt from other people.
- 1:12:52You know, you got to know who your people are.
- 1:12:54I remember, you know, I worked in the prison system for over 10
- 1:12:58years collectively between working at a facility and
- 1:13:03transporting inmates, You know, so between those two details, I
- 1:13:06was, I was in corrections and prisoner extradition for about 9
- 1:13:11years. And you've got to know who's got
- 1:13:14your back, you know, regardless of what their lifestyle is,
- 1:13:16that's, and that's, that's very much like a war band culture.
- 1:13:19You know, that's it, that's tribalism almost in a way, but
- 1:13:22it's, it's like the war band culture, you know, the warrior
- 1:13:25cult. So whether or not they're into
- 1:13:30the, you know, belief of, of paganism, of, of, of Heathenry,
- 1:13:35you know, you have a culture, you have a, you have a war band
- 1:13:39culture that you're connected with, you know, and that type of
- 1:13:44lifestyle can, can cultivate its own subculture amongst its
- 1:13:52people. So OK, so Buddha Viking has
- 1:13:57questions. Let me ask something.
- 1:13:58Driving trucks and security is the only thing I understand.
- 1:14:01I can't wrap my head around computer.
- 1:14:03So head first mentality and isolation is all I know.
- 1:14:09How do you go to the next? How do we what, how do we escape
- 1:14:17those things when you're honestly that you're honestly
- 1:14:21good at and understand? I mean, how do you escape it?
- 1:14:28You find a way. I mean, you mentioned two
- 1:14:37things, you know, you know, drug truck, truck driving and
- 1:14:39security. OK, so you're good at driving
- 1:14:42big vehicles and making sure people are are not doing things
- 1:14:47and not going places where they shouldn't and being that sort
- 1:14:49of, you know, bouncer security detail type person, you know,
- 1:14:55and you can't convince me that you're not good at anything
- 1:14:58else. Maybe computers, but I'm good at
- 1:15:03computers and that's 'cause that's the field I've been
- 1:15:05working in for eight years. You know, I work in IT.
- 1:15:09I'm not good at home. Give home care like, like home
- 1:15:13health care, like I'm not a, a, a caretaker.
- 1:15:17I can take care of myself, but I'm not the type of person that
- 1:15:19can take care of other people. My wife is, you know, she can't
- 1:15:24really stand computer. She doesn't, you know, deal with
- 1:15:28it too much. She doesn't like it, but her
- 1:15:30passion, her love is in healthcare, home healthcare.
- 1:15:33Take caregiving because it's what she's done for a long time
- 1:15:38of her life. And that's what she's done for
- 1:15:39for many, many years. So if you're good at something
- 1:15:45and you understand it and that you're calling, find a way to
- 1:15:48make it work, right. If the detail that you're on is,
- 1:15:52is bad for your mental health, you know, pivot, find another
- 1:15:57detail, find another way of, you know, being able to, to, to
- 1:16:01serve your purpose without compromising your integrity.
- 1:16:07You know, Scarlett works there, backs up.
- 1:16:11Let me back up for a second here, 'cause he had a comment.
- 1:16:14Yeah. Was it.
- 1:16:17Oh, the truth to keep seeing? Yeah.
- 1:16:20The truth seems to keep more of a research Research Center these
- 1:16:25days more than actual belief organization.
- 1:16:29Yeah, I know we, you know, I don't know, I wouldn't.
- 1:16:32Maybe there's maybe there's some good stuff out there that
- 1:16:34they're doing research wise. I don't, I can't say 'cause I
- 1:16:38don't, I don't go to them as a resource for much.
- 1:16:45Sorry to say. Azure Phoenix is back.
- 1:16:49I think some people aren't really into religion in general,
- 1:16:53Fairpoint. Maybe too much responsibility to
- 1:16:56others as a turn off. Very keen point.
- 1:17:00You know, like we talked about the responsibility, the
- 1:17:03obligation that comes with things like Frith.
- 1:17:05It's too structured, it's too regimented, it's too ordered.
- 1:17:09You know, it makes people feel too boxed in, you know, and a
- 1:17:16lot of people don't like that. A lot of people don't like what
- 1:17:20order has to offer and structure has to offer.
- 1:17:24And I think that there, I think that there's a really fine line
- 1:17:27between having order and having structure and knowing how to
- 1:17:32apply it in the different contexts that it exists.
- 1:17:37You know, because you can have order at your job, your place of
- 1:17:42employment, what you do to earn a paycheck and earn your living
- 1:17:46and your lifestyle at your job. The culture that surrounds the
- 1:17:50job is different. Every place you go, every, every
- 1:17:53profession is has its, has its own different, you know, culture
- 1:17:57and even companies have their own culture.
- 1:17:59And then you go home in your home life, your home life has
- 1:18:02its own, you know, you know, how you, how you interact with, with
- 1:18:07your family or how you act with people outside of work.
- 1:18:11And then you have perhaps maybe stuff, stuff like, you know, the
- 1:18:14religious side of things or the spiritual side of things where
- 1:18:16you have a community of people who you interact with at that
- 1:18:19degree and at that level. You're not going to behave the
- 1:18:22same way, you know, take this and do the same things that you
- 1:18:24would do at your place of employment, at your job and,
- 1:18:29and, and do that at home. I mean, if it works, I guess
- 1:18:33maybe then, then, then, then fine.
- 1:18:34But I, I've not been able to do that.
- 1:18:39You know, a matter of fact, it bites me.
- 1:18:40And they ask if I try to be, you know, well, this is how we do it
- 1:18:45at work. And I'm going to take that
- 1:18:48rigidness or that structure or that, you know, concept of, of
- 1:18:53dealing with people. And I want to bring it into my
- 1:18:55home life. It doesn't work that way.
- 1:18:57It doesn't work well that way 'cause it's a different culture.
- 1:19:00So maybe with, you know, religious stuff, when, when,
- 1:19:04when there's this sense of order, when there's a sense of
- 1:19:06structure has to be done this way.
- 1:19:07It has to be done that way. Maybe it feels too much like a
- 1:19:10job to people and they don't want to feel that obligation.
- 1:19:13They don't want to feel that sense of, oh, I have to do it
- 1:19:15this way. Now I've, I would venture to say
- 1:19:20that there's again, it's a, there's a fine line that, you
- 1:19:23know, if you're not ordered and if you're not structured and
- 1:19:27everything's all Willy nilly, you know, flying off the seat of
- 1:19:30our pants, We're not, we're not preparing ourselves for
- 1:19:35anything. We're not, we're not
- 1:19:37conditioning ourselves for, you know, times when, when things
- 1:19:40could be really rough, you know, So if all we're doing is just
- 1:19:45skating by and hoping for the best, and if I need you, I'll
- 1:19:48call you like, Nah, man, like, you know, let's, let's order
- 1:19:51ourselves appropriately. Let's let's put, you know, let's
- 1:19:55snap to let's, let's get some construction going on here.
- 1:19:58Let's, let's build ourselves up and let's all understand what
- 1:20:01our jobs and responsibilities are.
- 1:20:03And let's uphold ourselves to those responsibilities.
- 1:20:06Let's hold ourselves accountable.
- 1:20:08I'll hold myself accountable. You hold me accountable.
- 1:20:10I'll hold you accountable. We hold ourselves accountable.
- 1:20:14And like you say, Azure Phoenix, not a lot of people like that.
- 1:20:16I want to embrace that lifestyle.
- 1:20:24So Voodoo Viking, Yeah, I mean, sorry to to cut your comment
- 1:20:27there off Voodoo Viking. You know, things don't pay
- 1:20:30enough. Listen, you can make money
- 1:20:33anywhere, you know, doing almost anything and not even break the
- 1:20:38law doing it. But, yeah, you know, we could
- 1:20:42probably get you. Do, you know, do a live stream
- 1:20:47or something? This one is getting near its
- 1:20:50end. We've been going for almost an
- 1:20:51hour and a half tonight. A lot of great discussion, by
- 1:20:53the way, folks. And thank you so much for being
- 1:20:55here. We can definitely work something
- 1:20:57out maybe for next month for you to come on and pick this back
- 1:21:00up. Scarlett works back to Azure.
- 1:21:03Phoenix's comments says religion is mostly seen in a negative
- 1:21:05light because of the face, like Christianity and Islam, who've
- 1:21:08used the belief as a way to force their views upon others.
- 1:21:11You know, that whole sense of control.
- 1:21:12So that's a key observation and it does it, it, it, it we, you
- 1:21:17know, I'll, I'll say personally, you know, like I've, I've seen
- 1:21:21that happen in Heathenry too, on a very smaller scale.
- 1:21:25But but I've seen that tendency, the propensity leak in to
- 1:21:29Heathenry and, and have it become something that is like
- 1:21:34trying to dictate what others believe and what others do like,
- 1:21:37oh, you have to do it this way. It's, or else, you know, in a,
- 1:21:42in a, in a, in a, in an effort to control, you know, not in an
- 1:21:45effort to educate or, or an effort to teach or to maintain
- 1:21:49structure and to maintain order for oneself and for one's, you
- 1:21:53know, group. But in a sense and, and through
- 1:21:56a context of I want to be in control and I want to control
- 1:21:59all these people. And that let you know, have them
- 1:22:01look at me as a certain figure, head of, of authority or
- 1:22:05something like that and have this whole ego about it.
- 1:22:07It's, you know, that, that approach.
- 1:22:09I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't agree with yeah, Voodoo
- 1:22:18Viking agrees with you there too, Skull.
- 1:22:21It works and it's a general consensus.
- 1:22:22I think we understand that that the majority of of organized
- 1:22:27religions, the bigger religions have only done Grant, you know,
- 1:22:31there's some good people amongst them, but the organizations
- 1:22:34themselves have only done effectively just instilled fear
- 1:22:39and control. Yeah.
- 1:22:41My way or the highway, You know, shout out Fred Durst.
- 1:22:48I'm a do things my way. It's my way, my way or the
- 1:22:52highway. OK.
- 1:22:57But like he said, OK, So Buda Viking says, yeah, but like the
- 1:22:59the New Orleans lifestyle, too much wine, women in song, you
- 1:23:03know, rub shoulders with the upper crust, the lobbyists, the
- 1:23:06mayor, politicians learn, learn the inside about how it all
- 1:23:12works. It's you know, New Orleans.
- 1:23:14It's it's almost like, you know, the the Vegas of the Bayou.
- 1:23:20You know what I'm saying? It's it's it's it's got that
- 1:23:23just non-stop party atmosphere cause of, you know, Bourbon
- 1:23:28Street and Mardi Gras and then just a lot of that.
- 1:23:32So it's like a smaller Vegas of the Bayou.
- 1:23:34This it's swamp Vegas, I guess they call it.
- 1:23:36I don't know if they do, but I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll call it
- 1:23:38that. Yeah.
- 1:23:43If there are no core beliefs and and values.
- 1:23:46Azure Phoenix says if there's no core beliefs and values, then
- 1:23:49there's nothing to rally around or unite us.
- 1:23:51Exactly. You know, it's, there's a fine
- 1:23:55line and it can be done rightly. And you know, you got some
- 1:24:01people that agree with you there.
- 1:24:02The Viking agrees with you there, Azure.
- 1:24:05It's you know, it's a fine line, you know, and the right people
- 1:24:12should be in place for for leading those initiatives.
- 1:24:15You know, you you don't want people that are just here to be
- 1:24:19called something like I've seen I've seen so many groups pop up,
- 1:24:23man, and they're intermingling titles.
- 1:24:25You know, you've got president so and so and then you've got
- 1:24:28high vulva this person and you've got high Drotan over here
- 1:24:32and then Chieftain so and so and you're all this and like you're
- 1:24:35blending names and titles from different cultures that that
- 1:24:39don't even they never spoke to one another.
- 1:24:41They had nothing to do with one another culturally.
- 1:24:43So you're like, it, it, it's just like, OK, what are you
- 1:24:46doing? What why are you giving titles
- 1:24:49to people? What titles of authority,
- 1:24:51authoritative, authoritative titles, authoritative titles to
- 1:24:56people who have no freaking idea what a Dwoten is.
- 1:25:02You know, you got an organization that you have a
- 1:25:03Dwoten driten, whatever. But I'm going to use the the,
- 1:25:07the Saxon pronunciation, the Dwoten.
- 1:25:10And then you have somebody else called the Chieftain.
- 1:25:11Listen, idiot, you know that it means the same thing.
- 1:25:14It's same thing. You have two people carrying the
- 1:25:19same quote UN quote title and you've got one called Chieftain
- 1:25:25and another one called Dalton. And you're just calling them the
- 1:25:29same thing in a different language.
- 1:25:31Sorry, that's my rant. It's silly.
- 1:25:34Nola is the palace Versales or Versailles?
- 1:25:38Yeah, the palace Versailles and Rome wrapped into one.
- 1:25:42Yeah, Yeah, that's a good the pomp and the and the the the
- 1:25:47debauchery and this and that, Right.
- 1:25:51So it's a good, good analogy of Azure is wary of bringing my
- 1:25:58kids to gatherings because I don't know what the hosts
- 1:26:02believe. And if it aligns with our
- 1:26:05beliefs, it's hard to know where to go.
- 1:26:08Gosh, I, I, I hear you. I hear you so loud and clear
- 1:26:15said I can't, like I said, I can't do 2 years of research on
- 1:26:17eBay. Or is it every, every, oh, every
- 1:26:22organization to see if they won't teach my kids some yeah,
- 1:26:26some, some BS. You know, it's, it's, it's
- 1:26:30unfortunately like one of those things where you got to kind of,
- 1:26:36I don't want to say you have to go and, and check it out for
- 1:26:40yourself. Like you gotta, you know, see it
- 1:26:43for yourself to determine it 'cause, you know, people can put
- 1:26:47anything they want to online. They can say whatever they want
- 1:26:50to about their beliefs and, and, and how they approach.
- 1:26:53And then the way they act in person is, is totally different.
- 1:26:56I always, I always tend to lean into the fact that you're going
- 1:27:00to get the truest sense of anybody's personality,
- 1:27:05intentions, purpose, what they're doing by being in person
- 1:27:10with them. You're going to get a sense of
- 1:27:12where they're coming from almost immediately from being in person
- 1:27:16with them. You're going to get that initial
- 1:27:18feeling, you know, especially if you're a parent, your intuition
- 1:27:21is super strong. You, you know what's right for
- 1:27:24your kids, you know, and it's smart of you to be so cautious
- 1:27:31about bringing them to a place that may or may not align with
- 1:27:35what you want them to be raised it with, you know, and believe
- 1:27:38in. You know, you don't want to you
- 1:27:40don't want to put them in a position of a being misfed
- 1:27:43information or or being exposed to something that you know
- 1:27:47doesn't align with what you're believing.
- 1:27:49I would just say just my personal opinion is, you know,
- 1:27:52really the only way you're going to know that for sure is do what
- 1:27:55you can research wise, but then go and check it out for
- 1:27:58yourself. Maybe maybe an event or repeat
- 1:28:01events that happened in your area.
- 1:28:02You know, maybe you go and do a Recon of it.
- 1:28:04Maybe you, you know, get grandma and grandpa or you know, a
- 1:28:08friend or whatever to watch the kids while you go check it out.
- 1:28:11Maybe you, maybe maybe you do a solo run or you and your partner
- 1:28:14go and and leave the kids with a trusted babysitter or something
- 1:28:18to say, Hey, you know, we have a family.
- 1:28:20We want to make sure that we check this out before bringing
- 1:28:24our kids to it. Maybe you've already done that
- 1:28:26too. I don't know.
- 1:28:28You know, you didn't ask for my thoughts or opinions on it, but
- 1:28:30I respect that you have their, their safety and their
- 1:28:33well-being in mind. So it was just a thought.
- 1:28:37I had a thought I'd throw out there.
- 1:28:39Ask all that works. Lives in the Silicon Valley of
- 1:28:41the South. So yeah, we know.
- 1:28:46Oh, Huntsville man, Huntsville AL voodoo Viking says they they
- 1:28:53see heathen re rising to levels that people don't want to begin
- 1:28:55to believe. Creating inclusive groups where
- 1:28:57we can reach out when whoever needs anything 24/7.
- 1:29:01Like like the orders we had 100 plus years ago.
- 1:29:05I mean, it's great to have the the the tools like social media.
- 1:29:10I mean, I'll just say, like, for example, today there, there's an
- 1:29:14elder of our community up here who had some life changing news
- 1:29:22dropped on them today, you know, and it, it didn't take long for
- 1:29:30people to get in touch with others and find ways of coming
- 1:29:35to support. Like after this live stream, I,
- 1:29:37I, I, I'm going to get in touch with them again to check in on
- 1:29:40them because I was talking to them earlier and I said, but I'm
- 1:29:42just making sure you're OK and, and wanted to check in, but I'd
- 1:29:45like to continue talking. I have this thing I'm doing
- 1:29:47tonight, but afterwards, So, you know, having that, but it goes
- 1:29:56back to, you know, yes, it, there's, there's inclusivity
- 1:29:59involved, but it's more of networking and building that,
- 1:30:04that group with people. You know, it does have to be
- 1:30:07inclusive to a, to a degree. The inclusivity of of things
- 1:30:12nowadays is, is becoming like the lines are becoming so
- 1:30:15muddled. You know, it's, it's, it's, it's
- 1:30:19a touchy thing to, to a lot for a lot of people to, to approach.
- 1:30:23But having the right group of people, the right, the right
- 1:30:26inclusions to help with things, you know, and to help get people
- 1:30:31the, the, the, the a that they're looking for that they
- 1:30:33need. You do have a decent heathen
- 1:30:37group down there skull that works.
- 1:30:38I know you got the Ravenwood meatery, but despite not wanting
- 1:30:45to gather in, in small tribes or groups, you got a good
- 1:30:49population. Same thing up here, man.
- 1:30:51Like there's, there's definitely, there's a bit of a
- 1:30:53mix, you know, there's, there's a lot of pagans and, and, and
- 1:30:57other folks and, and heathens that, that have a group that
- 1:31:00they like to call their heathen home and then others that are
- 1:31:03just kind of nomadic and they come to events here or there and
- 1:31:08everywhere. And so, yeah, we, I get this.
- 1:31:13I get what you're saying, Scaldic works.
- 1:31:16Replying to Azure Phoenix is I believe the same issue goes if
- 1:31:19you would take them to a Christian Church if that was
- 1:31:22what you believed in terms of bringing children around and
- 1:31:25making sure that what they're being exposed to is an alignment
- 1:31:31with what you want them to to be exposed to.
- 1:31:34And as Azure Phoenix is a help network is a great idea in the
- 1:31:37digital age. Like a phone tree, you know,
- 1:31:40area maps would be helpful, but people can't go on being so
- 1:31:48clustered if they, if they want a community.
- 1:31:49Yeah, you got to, you know, it's, it's, it's good to have
- 1:31:53your roots established. But don't, don't forget the
- 1:31:55roots don't just go down. They grow out, you know, they,
- 1:31:59they, they, they spread out, they go deeper, they spread,
- 1:32:02they have to in order to support the growth that's happening up
- 1:32:05here. So it's one thing to be aware
- 1:32:11of, you know? Well, let's see what else we've
- 1:32:16got. Sorry.
- 1:32:16More from Voodoo Viking. Lawyers, doctors, contractors.
- 1:32:21My, we build and fully take care of our own.
- 1:32:25Yeah. I mean, look, it's so it makes
- 1:32:28the world go around. Everybody has a job.
- 1:32:31Everybody has a purpose. Well, great commentary folks.
- 1:32:38Thank you again for for being here and and taking the time out
- 1:32:41of your going to want to talk about this stuff.
- 1:32:43I love seeing the engagement and the talking about things as your
- 1:32:47Phoenix is. Maybe I'm being dense, but I see
- 1:32:49very few women involved in community building.
- 1:32:52Aren't we supposed to be the Frith weavers?
- 1:32:54I'm weaving the hell out of my Frith over here.
- 1:32:57OK, keen observation. And that is a very valid point.
- 1:33:05You know, I'm not sure I, I recognize the screen name and
- 1:33:12forgive me because it's been so long.
- 1:33:13I don't know geographically where you are.
- 1:33:17But yeah, like a lot of what I see are, are male LED efforts.
- 1:33:23You know, now there are some, I know there are definitely some
- 1:33:27in our area who there are like groups for women, Pagan groups
- 1:33:33for women exclusively where, you know, it's just for the ladies.
- 1:33:37And then there's stuff that's just for the men too.
- 1:33:39But then there's the Coed mixture of of family friendly,
- 1:33:43you know, things. But yeah, no, I think it's I
- 1:33:46think it's a very interesting point to to raise their Azure
- 1:33:50Phoenix that where are the Frith weavers?
- 1:33:53You know, where are the ones who with the right, you know, with
- 1:34:01the right resources are, are creating these hearth spaces
- 1:34:06for, for for the folk to gather around, you know, these safe
- 1:34:08places, these these community centers, these, let's say hearth
- 1:34:13fires to gather at, whether it's, you know, a home or
- 1:34:19whether it's, you know, an online space.
- 1:34:21And then you got, you know, have different things at different
- 1:34:25locations here and there. The work should be, I think
- 1:34:30it's, you know, it's a shared effort, but I, I think it's a, a
- 1:34:32great observation that you making, that you're making.
- 1:34:39I, I see some of it in my area. I do see, I do see a lot of
- 1:34:42things being done by, by women and it's, it's good work that
- 1:34:51they're doing. So I hope that maybe this this
- 1:34:56helps kind of raise that attention.
- 1:34:58Maybe this live will will reach the ears and the hearts of some
- 1:35:02women in the area. Right.
- 1:35:03Ladies, get out there and then get to weaving.
- 1:35:07I don't know, but thank you for saying so and thank you for
- 1:35:11bringing up that observation. All right, let's see.
- 1:35:14We'll take a couple more comments here and then we're
- 1:35:16going to wrap things up for the night.
- 1:35:18Yeah. Scarlet Works needs to get going
- 1:35:19of work in the morning. First paid rune reading client
- 1:35:23at 5:00. Well, any advice before you go
- 1:35:26there, Skull, it works. Meditate, you know, go into that
- 1:35:32with your with your heart open, but but realize that what the
- 1:35:37runes can take can say might not be easy for you to to deliver.
- 1:35:43So I hope that it goes well for you.
- 1:35:49I hope that your first rune reading for for a client or, you
- 1:35:55know, the the first run reading that you are being compensated

- 1:36:10some grounding, maybe, you know, get your skin to earth, get your
- 1:36:13bare feet on the earth. Like that's always a great
- 1:36:15preface, I think to any sort of spiritual work is, is absorb
- 1:36:21that energy from from mother Yard, you know, so good luck
- 1:36:26with that. Hope it goes well.
