- 0:00First Nephi, chapter seventeen through nineteen chapter seventeen. And it came to pass
- 0:08that we did again take our journey in the wilderness, and we did travel
- 0:11nearly eastward from that time forth, and we did travel and weigh through much
- 0:15affliction in the wilderness. And our women did bear children in the wilderness.
- 0:20And so great were the blessings of the Lord upon us, that while we
- 0:22did live upon ramat in the wilderness, our women did give plenty of suck
- 0:26for their children, and were strong, yea, even like unto the men.
- 0:30And they began to bear their journeyings without murmurings. And thus we see
- 0:35that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that
- 0:39the children of men keep the commandments of God, he doth nourish them and
- 0:42strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which He has
- 0:46commanded them. Wherefore He did provide means for us while we did sojourn in
- 0:51the wilderness, and we did sojourn for the space of many years, yea
- 0:55even eight years in the wilderness. And we did come to the land which
- 0:59we called bountiful because of its much fruit and also wild honey, and all
- 1:03these things were prepared of the Lord that we might not perish. And we
- 1:07beheld the sea, which we called Iriantum, which being interpreted, is many
- 1:12waters. And it came to pass that we did pitch our tents by the
- 1:15sea shore. And notwithstanding we had suffered many afflictions and much difficulty, yea,
- 1:22even so much that we cannot write them all, we were exceedingly rejoiced
- 1:26when we came to the seashore. And we called the place bountiful because of
- 1:29its much fruit. And it came to pass that after I Nephi had been
- 1:34in the land of Bountiful for the space of many days, the voice of
- 1:37the Lord came unto me, saying, arise and get thee into the mountain.
- 1:41And it came to pass that I arose and went up into the mountain
- 1:44and cried unto the Lord. And it came to pass that the Lord spake
- 1:48unto me, saying, thou shalt construct a ship after the manner which I
- 1:52shall show THEE, that I may carry thy people across these waters. And
- 1:56I said, Lord, whither shall I go that I may find and or
- 2:00to molten that I may make tools to construct the ship after the manner which
- 2:04thou hast shown unto me. And it came to pass that the Lord told
- 2:07me whether I should go to find or that I might make tools. And
- 2:12it came to pass that I Nephi and did make a bellows wherewith to blow
- 2:15the fire of the skins of beasts. And after I had made a bellows,
- 2:20that I might have wherewith to blow the fire, I did smite two
- 2:23stones together that I might make fire. For the Lord had not hitherto suffered
- 2:27that we should make much fire as we journeyed in the wilderness. For he
- 2:30said, I will make thy food become sweet, that ye cook it not.
- 2:35And I will also be your light in the wilderness. And I will
- 2:38prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my
- 2:42commandments. Wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall be
- 2:46led towards the Promised Land. And ye shall know that it is by ME
- 2:50that ye are led, yea. And the Lord said also that after ye
- 2:53have arrived in the Promised Land, ye shall know that I the Lord am
- 2:58God, and that I the Lord, did deliver you from destruction, yea,
- 3:02that I did bring you out of the land of Jerusalem. Wherefore,
- 3:07I, Nephi did strive to keep the commandments of the Lord, and I
- 3:09did exhort my brethre into faithfulness and diligence. And it came to pass that
- 3:15I did make tools of the oar, which I did molten out of the
- 3:16rock. And when my brethren saw that I was about to build a ship,
- 3:21they began to murmur against me, saying, our brother is a fool,
- 3:24for he thinketh he can build a ship, yea. And he also
- 3:28thinketh that he can cross these great waters. And thus my brethren did complain
- 3:31against me, and were desirous that they might not labor, for they did
- 3:36not believe that I could build a ship. Neither would they believe that I
- 3:38was instructed of the Lord. And it came to pass that I Nephi was
- 3:43exceedingly sorrowful because of the hardness of their hearts. And now when they saw
- 3:47that I began to be sorrowful, they were glad in their hearts insomuch that
- 3:52they did rejoice over me, saying, we knew that YE could not construct
- 3:54a ship, for we knew that ye were lacking in judgment. Wherefore thou
- 3:59canst not accomplished so great a work. And thou art like unto our father,
- 4:02led away by foolish imaginations of his heart. Yea, he hath led
- 4:06us out of the land of Jerusalem. And we have wandered in the wilderness
- 4:10for these many years. And our women have toiled, being big with child,
- 4:14and they have borne children in the wilderness and suffered all things save it
- 4:17were death. And it would have been better that they had died before they
- 4:20came out of Jerusalem than to have suffered these afflictions. Behold, these many
- 4:26years we have suffered in the wilderness, which time we might have enjoyed our
- 4:29possessions in the land of our inheritance. Yea, and we might have been
- 4:32happy. And we know that the people who were in the land of Jerusalem
- 4:36were a righteous people, for they kept the statutes and judgments of the Lord
- 4:41and all his commandments according to the law of Moses. Wherefore we know that
- 4:45they are a righteous people. And our father hath judged them and hath led
- 4:48us away because we would hearken unto his words. Yea, and our brother
- 4:51is like unto him. And after this manner of language did my brethren murmur
- 4:56and complain against us, and it came to pass that Nephi spake unto them,
- 5:00saying, do you believe that our fathers, who were the children of
- 5:03Israel, would have been led away out of the hands of the Egyptians if
- 5:08they had not hearkened unto the words of the Lord? Yea, do ye
- 5:11suppose that they would have been led out of bondage if the Lord had not
- 5:14commanded Moses that he should lead them out of bondage. Now ye know that
- 5:17the children of Israel were in bondage, and ye know that they were laden
- 5:21with tasks which were grievous to be born. Wherefore ye know that it must
- 5:26needs be a good thing for them that they should be brought out of bondage.
- 5:30Now ye know that Moses was commanded of the Lord to do that great
- 5:33work. And ye know that by his word the waters of the Red Sea
- 5:36were divided hither and thither, and they passed through on dry ground. But
- 5:41ye know that the Egyptians were drowned in the Red Sea, who were the
- 5:45armies of Pharaoh. And ye also know that they were fed with manna in
- 5:47the wilderness, yea. And ye also know that Moses, by his word,
- 5:51according to the power of God which was in him, smote the rock,
- 5:56and there came forth water, that the children of Israel might quench their
- 5:59thirst. And notwithstanding they being led the Lord, their God, their redeemer,
- 6:03going before them, leading them by day, and giving light unto them
- 6:08by night, and doing all things for them which were expedient for man to
- 6:12receive, they hardened their hearts and blinded their minds, and reviled against Moses
- 6:16and against the True and Living God. And it came to pass that according
- 6:20to his word he did destroy them, and according to his word he did
- 6:25lead them, and according to his word he did do all things for them.
- 6:29And there was not anything done save it were by his word. And
- 6:31after they had crossed the river Jordan, he did make them mighty unto the
- 6:35driving out of the children of the land, yea unto the scattering them to
- 6:39destruction. And now do ye suppose that the children of this land who were
- 6:44in the land of Promise, who were driven out by our fathers, do
- 6:46ye suppose that they were righteous? Behold, I say unto you, nay,
- 6:50do ye suppose that our fathers would have been more choice than they if
- 6:55they had been righteous? I say unto you, Nay. Behold, the
- 6:59Lord esteemeth all flesh, and one he that is righteous, is favored of
- 7:02God. But behold, his people had rejected every word of God, and
- 7:06they were ripe in iniquity, and the fullness of the wrath of God was
- 7:10upon them. And the Lord did curse the land against them, and blessed
- 7:14unto our fathers. Yea, he did curse it against them unto their destruction,
- 7:17and he did bless it unto our fathers, unto their obtaining power over
- 7:21it. Behold, the Lord hath created the earth that it should be inhabited,
- 7:26and he hath created his children that they should possess it. And he
- 7:30raiseth up a righteous nation, and destroyeth the nations of the wicked. And
- 7:33he leadeth away the righteous into precious lands. And the wicked he destroyeth and
- 7:38curseth the land unto them for their sakes. He ruleth high in the heavens,
- 7:43for it is his throne, and this earth is his footstool. And
- 7:46he loveth those who will have him to be their God. Behold, he
- 7:49loved our fathers, and he covenanted with them. Yea, even Abraham,
- 7:54Isaac and Jacob and he remembered the covenants which he had made. Wherefore he
- 7:59did bring them out of the land of Egypt, and he did straighten them
- 8:03in the wilderness with his rod. For they hardened their hearts even as ye
- 8:07have, and the Lord straightened them because of their iniquity. He sent fiery
- 8:11flying serpents among them, And after they were bitten, he prepared a way
- 8:15that they might be healed. And the labor which they had to perform was
- 8:18to look. And because of the simpleness of the way or the easiness of
- 8:22it, there were many who perished. And they did harden their hearts from
- 8:26time to time, and they did revile against Moses and also against God.
- 8:31Nevertheless, ye know that they were led forth by His matchless power into the
- 8:35land of Promise. And now, after all these things, the time has
- 8:39come that they have become wicked, yea nearly unto ripeness. And I know
- 8:43not, but they are at this day about to be destroyed. For I
- 8:46know that the day must surely come that they must be destroyed, save a
- 8:50few only who shall be led away into captivity. Wherefore, the Lord commanded
- 8:56my father that he should depart into the wilderness and the Jews also sought to
- 9:00take away his life, yea, and ye also have sought to take away
- 9:03his life. Wherefore ye are murderers in your hearts, and ye are like
- 9:07unto them. Ye are swift to do iniquity, but slow to remember the
- 9:11Lord your God. Ye have seen an angel, and he spake unto you.
- 9:15Yea. Ye have heard his voice from time to time, and he
- 9:18hath spoken unto you in a still small voice. But ye were past feeling
- 9:22that ye could not feel his words. Wherefore he has spoken unto you,
- 9:26like unto the voice of thunder, which did cause the earth to shake,
- 9:30as if it were to divide asunder. And ye also know that by the
- 9:33power of his almighty word, he can cause the earth that it shall pass
- 9:37away. Yea. And ye know that by his word he can cause the
- 9:41rough places to be made smooth, and the smooth places shall be broken up.
- 9:45Oh, then why is it that ye can be so hard in your
- 9:48hearts? Behold, my soul is rent with anguish because of you, and
- 9:52my heart is pained. I fear lest ye shall be cast off forever.
- 9:56Behold, I am full of the spirit of God in so much that my
- 10:00frame has no strength. And now it came to pass that when I had
- 10:03spoken these words, they were angry with me, and were desirous to throw
- 10:07me into the depths of the sea. And as they came forth to lay
- 10:11their hands upon me, I spake unto them, saying, in the name
- 10:13of the Almighty God, I command you that ye touch me not, for
- 10:18I am filled with the power of God, even unto the consuming of my
- 10:20flesh. And whoso shall lay his hands upon me shall wither even as a
- 10:24dry reed, and he shall be as not before the power of God,
- 10:28for God shall smite him. And it came to pass that I Nephai said
- 10:33unto them that they should murmur no more against their father, neither should they
- 10:37withhold their labor from me. For God had commanded me that I should build
- 10:41a ship. And I said unto them, if God commanded me to do
- 10:45all things, I could do them. If he should command me that I
- 10:48should say, unto this water, be thou earth, it should be earth.
- 10:52And if I should say it, it would be done. And now,
- 10:56if the Lord has such great power and has wrought so many miracles among
- 11:00the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me that I
- 11:03should build a ship. And it came to pass that I Nephi said many
- 11:07things unto my brethren, insomuch that they were confounded and could not contend against
- 11:13me. Neither durst they lay their hands upon me, nor touch me with
- 11:16their fingers, even for the space of many days. Now they durst not
- 11:20do this lest they should wither before me. So powerful was the spirit of
- 11:24God. And thus it had been wrought upon them. And it came to
- 11:28pass that the Lord said, unto me, stretch forth thy hand again unto
- 11:31thy brethren, and they shall not wither before THEE. But I will shock
- 11:35them, saith the Lord. And this I will do, that they may
- 11:37know that I am the Lord their God. And it came to pass that
- 11:43I stretch forth my hand unto my brethren, and they did not wither before
- 11:46me. But the Lord did shake them, even according to the word which
- 11:50he had spoken. And now they said, we know of a surety that
- 11:54the Lord is with THEE, for we know that it is the power of
- 11:56the Lord that has shaken us. And they fell down before me, and
- 12:01whereabout to worship me. But I would not suffer them, saying I am
- 12:05thy brother yea, even thy younger brother. Wherefore, worship the Lord,
- 12:09thy God, and honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may
- 12:13be long in the land which the Lord, thy God shall give thee Chapter
- 12:18eighteen. And it came to pass that they did worship the Lord, and
- 12:22did go forth with me, and we did work timbers of curious workmanship,
- 12:26And the Lord did show me from time to time after what manner I should
- 12:30work the timbers of the ship. Now, I, Nephi, did not
- 12:33work the timbers after the manner which was learned by men. Neither did I
- 12:37build the ship after the manner of men. But I did build it after
- 12:39the manner which the Lord had shown unto me. Wherefore it was not after
- 12:43the manner of men. And I, Nephi, did go unto the mount
- 12:48often, and I did pray oft unto the Lord. Wherefore the Lord showed
- 12:52unto me great things. And it came to pass that after I had finished
- 12:56the ship according to the word of the Lord, my brethren beheld that it
- 12:58was good, and the workmanship thereof was exceedingly fine. Wherefore they did humble
- 13:03themselves again before the Lord. And it came to pass that the voice of
- 13:07the Lord came unto my father that we should arise and go down into the
- 13:11ship. And it came to pass that on the morrow, after we had
- 13:16prepared all things, much fruits and meat from the wilderness, and honey in
- 13:20abundance, and provisions according to that which the Lord had commanded us, we
- 13:24did go down into the ship with all our loading, and our seeds,
- 13:28and whatsoever thing we had brought with us, every one according to his age.
- 13:31Wherefore we did go down into the ship with our wives and our children.
- 13:37And now my father had begot two sons in the wilderness. The elder
- 13:39was called Jacob, and the younger Joseph. And it came to pass,
- 13:43after we had all gone down into the ship, and had taken with us
- 13:46our provisions and things which had been commanded us, we did put forth into
- 13:50the sea and were driven forth before the wind towards the promised land. And
- 13:56after we had been driven forth before the wind for the space of many days,
- 13:58be my brethren and the sons of Ishmael, and also their wives,
- 14:03began to make themselves merry, insomuch that they began to dance and to sing,
- 14:07and to speak with much rudeness, yea, even that they did forget
- 14:11by what power they had been brought thither. Yea, they were lifted up
- 14:16unto exceeding rudeness. And I Nephi began to fear exceedingly lest the Lord should
- 14:22be angry with us and smite us because of our iniquity, that we should
- 14:24be swallowed up in the depths of the sea. Wherefore, I Nephi began
- 14:28to speak to them with much soberness. But behold, they were angry with
- 14:33me, saying, we will not that our younger brother shall be a ruler
- 14:35over us. And it came to pass that Layman and Lemuel did take me
- 14:39and bind me with chords, and they did treat me with much harshness.
- 14:43Nevertheless, the Lord did suffer it that he might show forth his power unto
- 14:48the fulfilling of his word which he had spoken concerning the wicked. And it
- 14:52came to pass that, after they had bound me, insomuch that I could
- 14:54not move, the compass which had been prepared of the Lord, did cease
- 14:58to work. Wherefore they knew not whither they should steer the ship. Insomuch
- 15:03that there arose a great storm. YEA, a great and terrible tempest,
- 15:07and we were driven back upon the waters for the space of three days,
- 15:11and they began to be frightened exceedingly, lest they should be drowned in the
- 15:15sea. Nevertheless, they did not loose me. And on the fourth day,
- 15:18which we had been driven back, the tempests began to be exceedingly sore,
- 15:24and it came to pass that we were about to be swallowed up in
- 15:26the depths of the sea. And after we had been driven back upon the
- 15:30waters for the space of four days, my brethren began to see that the
- 15:33judgments of God were upon them, that they must perish, save they should
- 15:37repent of their iniquities. Wherefore they came unto me and loose the bands which
- 15:41were upon my wrist. And behold they had swollen exceedingly, and also mine
- 15:46ankles were much swollen, and great was the soreness thereof. Nevertheless, I
- 15:50did look unto my God, and I did praise him all the day long,
- 15:54and I did not murmur against the Lord because of mine afflictions. Now,
- 15:58my father Lehi had said many things unto them, and also unto the
- 16:02sons of Ishmael. But behold, they did breathe out much threatenings against any
- 16:06one that should speak for me, and my parents, being stricken in years
- 16:10and having suffered much grief because of their children, they were brought down,
- 16:14Yea, even upon their sick beds, because of their grief and much sorrow,
- 16:18and the iniquity of my brethren. They were brought near to be carried
- 16:21out of this time to meet their God. Yea, their gray hairs were
- 16:23about to be brought down to lie low in the dust. Yea, even
- 16:27they were near to be cast with sorrow into a watery grave. And Jacob
- 16:33and Joseph, also being young, having need of much nourishment, were grieved
- 16:37because of the afflictions of their mother. And also my wife, with her
- 16:40tears and prayers, and also my children, did not soften the hearts of
- 16:44my brethren that they would loose me. And there was nothing save it where
- 16:48the power of God, which threatened them with destruction, could soften their hearts.
- 16:52Wherefore, when they saw they were about to be swallowed up in the
- 16:55depths of the sea, they repented of the thing which they had done,
- 16:57insomuch that they loosed me. And it came to pass that after they had
- 17:02loosed me, behold I took the compass, and it did work whither I
- 17:06desired it. And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord.
- 17:10And after I had prayed, the winds did cease, and the storm did
- 17:12cease, and there was a great calm. And it came to pass that
- 17:17I Nephi did guide the ship that we sailed again towards the Promised Land.
- 17:21And it came to pass that after we had sailed for the space of many
- 17:23days, we did arrive at the Promised Land. And we went forth upon
- 17:26the land, and did pitch our tents, and we did call it the
- 17:30Promised Land. And it came to pass that we did begin to till the
- 17:33earth, and we began to plant seeds. Yea, we did put all
- 17:37our seeds into the earth, which we had brought from the land of Jerusalem.
- 17:41And it came to pass that they did grow exceedingly. Wherefore we were
- 17:45blessed in abundance. And it came to pass that we did find upon the
- 17:48land of Promise, as we journeyed in the wilderness, that there were beasts
- 17:52in the forest of every kind, both the cow and the ox, and
- 17:56the ass, and the horse, and the goat, and the wild God,
- 18:00and all manner of wild animals which were for the use of men.
- 18:03And we did find all manner of ore, both of gold and of silver,
- 18:07and of copper, Chapter nineteen. And it came to pass that the
- 18:14Lord commanded me. Wherefore I did make plates of ore, that I might
- 18:18engraven upon them the record of my people. And upon the plates which I
- 18:22made, I did engrave in the record of my father, and also our
- 18:25journeyings in the wilderness, and the prophecies of my father, and also many
- 18:29of mine own prophecies have I engraven upon them. And I knew not at
- 18:33the time when I made them, that I should be commanded of the Lord
- 18:36to make these plates. Wherefore the record of my father and the genealogy of
- 18:40his fathers, and the more part of all our proceedings in the wilderness are
- 18:42engraven upon those first plates of which I have spoken. Wherefore the things which
- 18:47transpired before I made these plates are of a truth. More particularly made mention
- 18:52upon the first plates. And after I had made these plates, by way
- 18:56of commandment, I Nephi received a commandment that the ministry and the prophecies,
- 19:00the more plain and precious parts of them should be written upon these plates,
- 19:04and that the things which were written should be kept for the instruction of my
- 19:07people, who should possess the land, and also for other wise purposes,
- 19:12which purposes are known unto the Lord. Wherefore I nef I did make a
- 19:17record upon the other plates which gives an account, or which gives a greater
- 19:21account of the wars and contentions and destructions of my people. And this have
- 19:26I done, and commanded my people what they should do after I was gone,
- 19:30and that these plates should be handed down from one generation to another,
- 19:33or from one prophet to another, until further commandments of the Lord, and
- 19:38an account of my making these plates shall be given hereafter. And then behold,
- 19:42I proceed according to that which I have spoken. And this I do,
- 19:47that the more sacred things may be kept for the knowledge of my people.
- 19:49Nevertheless, I do not write anything upon plate, save it be that
- 19:53I think it be sacred. And now if I do err, even did
- 19:57they err of old? Not that I would excuse myself because of other men,
- 20:02but because of the weakness which is in me. According to the flesh,
- 20:04I would excuse myself for the things which some men esteem to be of
- 20:10great worth both to the body and soul. Others set it not and trample
- 20:14under their feet. Yea, the very God of Israel, do men trample
- 20:18under their feet? I say, trample under their feet, but I would
- 20:21speak in other words. They set him at naught, and hearkened not to
- 20:23the voice of his counsels. And behold he cometh according to the words of
- 20:29the Angel, in six hundred years from the time my father left Jerusalem,
- 20:33and the world because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing
- 20:36of nought. Wherefore they scourage him, and he suffereth it. And they
- 20:40smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him,
- 20:44and he suffereth it because of his loving kindness and his long suffering towards the
- 20:48children of men and the God of our fathers, who were let out of
- 20:52Egypt out of bondage, and were also preserved in the wilderness by him.
- 20:56Yea, the God of Abraham and of Isaac, and the God of Jacob,
- 21:00yieldeth himself, according to the words of the Angel, as a man
- 21:04into the hands of wicked men, to be lifted up according to the words
- 21:07of Zenik, and to be crucified according to the words of neum and to
- 21:12be buried in a sepulcher, according to the words of Zenus, which he
- 21:15spake concerning the three days of darkness, which should be a sign given of
- 21:19his death unto those who should inhabit the isles of the sea, more especially
- 21:25given unto those who are of the House of Israel. For thus spake the
- 21:27Prophet. The Lord God shall surely visit all the House of Israel at that
- 21:32day, some with his voice because of their righteousness, unto their great joy
- 21:37and salvation, and others with the thunderings and the lightnings of His power,
- 21:41by tempest, by fire and by smoke, and by vapor of darkness,
- 21:45and by the opening of the earth, and by mountains which shall be carried
- 21:48up. And all these things must surely come, Saith the Prophet Zenus,
- 21:53and the rocks of the earth must rend. And because of the groanings of
- 21:56the earth, many kings of the isles of the sea shall be wrought upon
- 22:00by the spirit of God to exclaim the God of Nature suffers. And as
- 22:04for those who are at Jerusalem, saith the Prophet, they shall be scourged
- 22:08by all people, because they crucify the God of Israel, and turn their
- 22:12hearts aside, rejecting signs and wonders and the power and glory of the God
- 22:18of Israel. And because they turn their hearts aside, saith the Prophet,
- 22:22and have despised the Holy One of Israel, they shall wander in the flesh
- 22:26and perish, and become a hiss and a byword, and be hated among
- 22:30all nations. Nevertheless, when that day cometh, saith the Prophet, that
- 22:36they no more turn aside their hearts against the Holy One of Israel. Then
- 22:38will he remember the covenants which he made to their fathers Yea. Then will
- 22:44he remember the isles of the sea Yea, And all the people who are
- 22:47of the House of Israel. Will I gather in saith the Lord, according
- 22:51to the words of the Prophet Zenus, from the four quarters of the earth,
- 22:55Yea. And all the earth shall see the salvation of the Lord,
- 22:56Saith the Prophet. Every nation, kindred tongue and people shall be blessed.
- 23:03And I, Nephi, have written these things unto my people, that perhaps
- 23:06I might persuade them that they would remember the Lord, their redeemer. Wherefore
- 23:11I speak unto all the house of Israel, if it so be that they
- 23:14should obtain these things. For behold, I have workings in the spirit,
- 23:18which doth weary me, even that all my joints are weak for those who
- 23:22are at Jerusalem. For had not the Lord been merciful to show unto me
- 23:26concerning them, even as he had the prophets of old, I should have
- 23:29perished also. And he did surely show unto the prophets of old all things
- 23:33concerning them. And also he did show unto many concerning us. Wherefore it
- 23:37must needs be that we know concerning them, for they are written upon the
- 23:41plates of brass. Now it came to pass that I, Nephi, did
- 23:45teach my brethren these things. And it came to pass that I did read
- 23:48many things to them which were engraven upon the plates of brass, that they
- 23:52might know concerning the doings of the Lord in other lands among people of old.
- 23:57And I did read many things unto them which were written in the books
- 24:00of Moses, that I might more fully persuade them to believe in the Lord
- 24:04their redeemer. I did read unto them that which was written by the prophet
- 24:07Isaiah. For I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be
- 24:11for our prophet and learning. Wherefore I spake unto them, saying, hear
- 24:17ye the words of the Prophet, He who are a remnant of the House
- 24:19of Israel, a branch who have been broken off. Hear ye the words
- 24:23of the Prophet which were written unto all the House of Israel, And liken
- 24:27them unto yourselves, that ye may hope as well as your brethren from whom
- 24:30ye have been broken off. For after this manner has the Prophet written.
