- 0:28This is the Eat More Carbs podcast.
- 0:35Hello and welcome back. This is the Eat More Carbs
- 0:37podcast. We're Riley Beatty Sports
- 0:39Nutrition, and we're a team of dietitians and we talk every
- 0:41Thursday about sports nutrition for the girlies.
- 0:44I'm Jenna and I'm the host. Of this podcast and I'm Riley,
- 0:46I'm the founder of Riley Beatty Sports Nutrition.
- 0:48We like to call it around here, our BSN.
- 0:50We're super. Excited to talk with y'all
- 0:51today. Before we get into today's
- 0:53episode, we are going to do our high and low.
- 0:55So sharing just a little bit about our week, the good and the
- 0:57parts we wish had gone a little bit differently.
- 0:59Riley, can you? Take us off What's?
- 1:00Your high and. Low OK, my high just happened
- 1:02and I'm so excited to share I was a little late to this
- 1:05recording that we had scheduled I was actually a lot late, but I
- 1:08was a little late to our second time that we had talked about
- 1:10recording this. I just got my period which.
- 1:12Congrats, you're not going to be on your period for the race.
- 1:15No, but I'm going to be my follicular.
- 1:16Phase. Nice.
- 1:17That is perfect. I'm.
- 1:18Very excited that I will be on my follicular phase for the race
- 1:22which might help because I need all the help I can get.
- 1:25Gosh, you're so ridiculous. Can you explain why that's a
- 1:27good thing? Yeah.
- 1:28I mean, I feel like like females, like we know that we
- 1:32just feel different on different parts of our cycle.
- 1:34So when we look at, you know, the follicular phase versus the
- 1:37ludial phase, there are sometimes things that can affect
- 1:41our performance from like a ludial phase perspective.
- 1:44I guess you could say when we look at at least like my time
- 1:47right now preparing for the race, usually a carb load has to
- 1:51be adjusted if you are in your ludial phase.
- 1:53So my carb load is actually starting today on Thursday, I'm
- 1:56going to do a pretty high carb day-to-day and tomorrow and then
- 2:00in a small way kind of cut back a little bit on Saturday because
- 2:03I'm going to load up really high today and tomorrow, which that's
- 2:05how we're supposed to be talking about right now.
- 2:07But carb load doesn't have to be adjusted.
- 2:09When we look at the Lido phase as well, core body temperature
- 2:12often increases. RPE is a little bit more
- 2:15challenging. There's a lot of more like fluid
- 2:17shifts and things like that affect performance and hydration
- 2:19status. And sometimes we just don't feel
- 2:21the best. We have PMS symptoms, different
- 2:23things like that. Not saying that if you are in
- 2:25your Lido phase that you're not going to perform as well, but it
- 2:28just a little, I feel like I have a little a little bit more
- 2:30confidence going into my race knowing that I'm on the
- 2:33follicular phase. I think that you hit a big thing
- 2:35there with even if you are on part of your cycle that isn't
- 2:38maybe associated with that, but you can still do great.
- 2:40You can still perform well. Like we've run, both of us have
- 2:42run multiple races in pretty much every single stage of our
- 2:46cycle now. But it's always nice, especially
- 2:47when you already have like some nerves and you planned out a lot
- 2:50already to like kind of have that little boost of confidence.
- 2:53Yeah. Everything like that can help me
- 2:55out at this point, because at this point there's nothing else
- 2:58I can do. Oh my gosh, I love that though.
- 2:59That's exciting. Yeah, very excited about that.
- 3:01I also had a little bit of a wonky cycle last time because of
- 3:04travel. And so I feel like that always
- 3:06stresses me out a little bit, obviously, in the space that
- 3:08we're in. So it's just great that she's
- 3:10back, she's back and she's ready to go.
- 3:12That is my high, my low. I think.
- 3:14It's a low. I mean, eventually the outcome
- 3:16will be a high, but I'm just not ready for the process of
- 3:20starting potty training with Charlie.
- 3:22OK, I did see you post on social media about girl.
- 3:27Doing her thing. You are close friends though, so
- 3:29only close friends got access to that.
- 3:31I was laughing so hard about her taking her time and doing her
- 3:36thing and being Miss Independent.
- 3:38She is like such a sassy woman, like such a sassy girl.
- 3:42I like laugh at her like all the time when she's being sassy
- 3:44because I think it's funny and like it's probably like I'm
- 3:47probably not. It's probably bad momming, but
- 3:49she is just like such a strong personality and she's like
- 3:51coming into that, but she only, I feel like really has it like
- 3:55around me or like at home, like she's not doing that like out
- 3:57publicly. But her new thing is if she's
- 4:00doing her business, she will like literally either like go
- 4:02into another room or go into the closet and like be like, bye,
- 4:06mom, mom and like shut the door or she'll like go into the
- 4:08corner and she will just be like, bye, leave me alone, leave
- 4:11me alone. She knows she wants space,
- 4:14monster space. Yesterday she was just, you
- 4:16know, in in the room just singing, doing her thing.
- 4:19Like don't come near me. I'm an independent woman.
- 4:22I'm like, you go girl. That means it's time to potty
- 4:25train. And if anybody has potty train
- 4:27their child, please let me know all of your tips.
- 4:30Tips and teas and peas your way, Riley, there's.
- 4:32Something called a three day weekend.
- 4:33So we just basically try it out for three days and she learns
- 4:37and I do think she's probably going to pick it up pretty
- 4:39quickly because she is very like neat and organized as a baby and
- 4:43it's very particular. So I think she's going to not
- 4:46like potentially getting messy. So she's going to pick it up
- 4:50pretty quick. So teas and peas and tips.
- 4:52What about you? How is your week going?
- 4:54I am really excited to share my high today.
- 4:56We talk a lot about like the kind of bitter sweet feeling
- 5:00that we feel when a athlete comes to the end of working with
- 5:03us. They've gotten their period
- 5:04back, they're doing really great and then we say goodbye and it's
- 5:07hard to say goodbye to people that we've established
- 5:09relationships with. We keep in touch with a lot of
- 5:11the athletes that we work with, but I got an Instagram DM from
- 5:14an athlete that I have worked with in the past letting me know
- 5:16that ever since we stopped working together, she has
- 5:19consistently kept her cycle and she PR D her 5K and it was just
- 5:22like one of the best things ever to hear that like she has been
- 5:25able to continue on with like all of the things that we
- 5:28implemented together and then it's worth working really well
- 5:30for her. So that was a huge high for me
- 5:32to just like get to celebrate that with her.
- 5:33If you've ever worked with Riley and I like please continue to
- 5:35share your wins like we love to hear them.
- 5:37I. Love that.
- 5:39I also love that she was able to build sustainable habits because
- 5:41that is what it's all about. It's not just about just, you
- 5:44know, getting your period back once, but it's about getting
- 5:46your period back and freaking keeping it so.
- 5:49Heck yes to her. And I feel like we've talked
- 5:50about this so many times. I think you even talked about it
- 5:52maybe on our last week's episode where you mentioned that like
- 5:56the same things that are holding you back in period recovery are
- 5:59the same things that are her your performance.
- 6:00And I think she's like a great example of that because she's
- 6:02kept her period and then she PR D and that was just a great
- 6:05thing to kind of go hand in hand.
- 6:07Yes, and if you're not familiar with like the period recovery
- 6:10journey or things like that, right like if you don't have
- 6:12your period like that is a sign that something is off right That
- 6:16you are not completely healthy as a human and you can't be the
- 6:19best athlete possible if you are not healthy and have a strong.
- 6:23Foundation first exactly Milo has also to kind of do with
- 6:27social media. Every Monday I share a recipe on
- 6:31social media. I do that with like the meal
- 6:33prep that I do on Sunday. A lot of times it's like a one
- 6:36off, like I am filming and doing my own meal prep all at the same
- 6:39time. And I'm not following a recipe
- 6:41like I am making it up as I go. I have my computer right there
- 6:44next to me. So that way I can write down
- 6:45like what am I putting in this recipe so that way I can share
- 6:48it online. I had this great idea based on
- 6:50like an idea I'd come up with with a client and I was like,
- 6:52I'm going to take this and tweak it a little bit and use it
- 6:54myself. And it was going to be like a
- 6:56crock pot chicken noodle soup. And then I was going to make it
- 6:58like a creamy version. And I was like, this is going to
- 7:00be great. So I have all of my ingredients
- 7:03and I'm like, oh, shoot, I don't have carrots.
- 7:05And I really wanted carrots in my crock pot chicken noodle
- 7:08soup. So I was like, OK, I'm going to
- 7:08run to the store real quick. I go to the store and Trader
- 7:11Joe's has these like super fun Tri colored carrots, like
- 7:13purple, orange and yellow. And I was like, I love this
- 7:16idea. Like it'll get a little bit of
- 7:17different colors in there. And it just is going to like,
- 7:20it's going to be so fun. I start cooking my soup.
- 7:22We leave for the afternoon to go and do things because it's slow
- 7:24cooker. So it's going to take a minute
- 7:26and I come back and I open my crock pot and my soup is purple.
- 7:30I did not think about the fact that using purple carrots would
- 7:33then, like dye my soup purple. And I'm not talking like a
- 7:37purplish hue, like I'm talking bright purple.
- 7:40Like it looked like I had put purple food coloring into my
- 7:43soup. Would you eat it?
- 7:44OK. I was like, I can't waste this.
- 7:46And so I was like, maybe I'll edit this and I will show
- 7:48everyone like on the week of Halloween, like I made purple
- 7:51soup and then it was intentional.
- 7:52I put the rest of it together and I was trying to eat it and
- 7:55it was like grayish purple. I was like, I can't eat this.
- 7:58Like, it's throwing me off so much because this looks like
- 8:01rotten. And I'm not gonna lie, it was
- 8:03definitely not the best recipe I've ever made.
- 8:05Like my sweet husband took his to work and came home and like,
- 8:08he never says anything about the things that I cook.
- 8:10And I was like, what did you think of lunch today?
- 8:12And he was like, I know, like, just like, maybe it wasn't my
- 8:15favorite, like that kind of thing.
- 8:16And I was like, it was awful. And he was like, my gosh, yeah,
- 8:18it was awful. And I don't know what happened.
- 8:20Like, I don't know if like, my onion was bad or what happened,
- 8:23but it was terrible. And it was purple. 0 out of 10
- 8:26stars. Oh, my gosh, it was so bad.
- 8:27It was so bad. And I was so disappointed
- 8:29because obviously it takes a lot of time, but it's like a lot of
- 8:32food that I was like, oh, my gosh.
- 8:33So I made purple soup. That's my love.
- 8:35I was like hoping it was still going to be good.
- 8:38So bad. I was like so excited to see the
- 8:40purple color on your Instagram, but yeah.
- 8:42I can't do it. Might be a.
- 8:43Bad it's. Gonna be a big pass.
- 8:44If it was good, I think I would still put the recipe out there
- 8:47and I'd be like you like just use a different colored carrot
- 8:49if you want to avoid purple. But it wasn't any good.
- 8:52So I like don't feel comfortable putting that out there and be
- 8:54like, make this and then also it's purple and you hate it like
- 8:57this. Gross.
- 8:58No, nobody wants that. I love a crock pot soup though.
- 9:00I know, so I might try again, but I'm also a little scarred.
- 9:04Need a break? Would you eat purple soup?
- 9:07If it tasted good, OK, that's fair.
- 9:08An honor of Halloween being tomorrow.
- 9:10I like love a Halloween like food situation.
- 9:15Like I just remember growing up, my mom would always like make us
- 9:18like different like Halloween foods and like would like make
- 9:20us like a Halloween meal before we went out and trick or
- 9:23treated. And I love Halloween.
- 9:24So of course I love Halloween foods.
- 9:27Well, mine is not going to fall into the category of Halloween
- 9:29foods that you love. Would you eat purple soup if it
- 9:31tasted? Good.
- 9:32It tasted good, yeah, but I like it.
- 9:33Just like the combination of it not being good and it being
- 9:36purple. I was like, this is not life's
- 9:38too short to eat bad food. Amen to that.
- 9:40On today's episode we are going through some of our favorite
- 9:43Halloween and Fall themed things.
- 9:45Yeah, that's kind of kind of like what you just said, where
- 9:47we're going to talk about things that we're not eating because
- 9:49life's too short and I'm not eating pumpkin spice.
- 9:51We also have Lily on today to help us through the Smasher Pass
- 9:56that we're going to play for Halloween and fall flavored
- 9:58things. I'm Lily.
- 9:59I'm the newest addition to RVS 10 as one of the performance
- 10:02dietitians and I work with our post grad girlies as well as our
- 10:05CrossFit and High Rocks athletes.
- 10:07On today's episode, we're doing something a little bit
- 10:09different. We're actually playing a game of
- 10:11Halloween slash Fall Smasher Pass.
- 10:13We've done something like this before, but it was a really long
- 10:16time ago so I figured it was time for an update.
- 10:18I'm so excited. Let's jump into it.
- 10:19OK, so. I have a list of fall and
- 10:21Halloween popular or maybe not so popular items and I want to
- 10:26hear whether you would smash or pass on them.
- 10:28So you like them or you don't like them.
- 10:29We're going to do these rapid fire.
- 10:31I have a whole first one, even though we've talked about this
- 10:33on previous episodes of the Markers podcast Pumpkin Spice
- 10:37Lattes. By pass passing for Riley.
- 10:40I'm a Smosh. I actually have one with me,
- 10:42right? How fitting.
- 10:45I love that. So it was a perfect day for one
- 10:47which is pretty much every day so.
- 10:50OK, that ties into the next one, which is pumpkin spice latte
- 10:52season starting in August. I think I'm gonna pass on that
- 10:56one, honestly. OK, what's the perfect time for
- 10:58pumpkin spice season to start? For you, I'm sure very where you
- 11:02are in the country because I live in Texas and August is
- 11:06literally our hottest month. So do I want a pumpkin spice
- 11:10latte when it is 90° outside? No, but maybe like late
- 11:14September, early October is when I start getting into it.
- 11:18I think that's an appropriate time for pumpkin spice and like
- 11:20fall things to kind of start. I feel like we've talked about
- 11:22this before, but seasons keep starting earlier and earlier,
- 11:25and I'm not a fan of it. Riley, you don't even have to
- 11:27answer whether or not you'd be cool with pumpkin spice latte
- 11:29seasons starting earlier. Since we know you're going to
- 11:31pass either way, I have a guess on what Riley is going to say
- 11:34for this next one. But candy corn, OK.
- 11:36This is supposed to be a rapid fire but I'm a yapper so I'm
- 11:39going to get into it and I apologize.
- 11:41I personally am going to pass on candy corn, but I actually had a
- 11:45client who sent me the nutrition on candy corn and it was
- 11:49actually like candy pumpkins because we've made everything
- 11:52like candy corn, but anything fault related, I guess becomes a
- 11:54candy corn in a different shape. She was pumped because she could
- 11:58eat four of these little pumpkins.
- 11:59I'm going to give her 30 grams of carbohydrate.
- 12:02I think that's great. Personally, I don't think I can
- 12:05get those down and that's not my thing, but I love them for
- 12:09somebody else who wants to fuel with them.
- 12:11Lily, what about you, Smasher Pass.
- 12:13I am also past I just I can't do it.
- 12:16Maybe it's because I have too many when I was little, but
- 12:18grown out of that for sure. OK, my reason for smash is
- 12:23because it reminds me of my childhood.
- 12:25So that's why I always have to do that.
- 12:27Plus, I think it's an easy way to get in like fuel before you
- 12:30are training and I'm good with that.
- 12:32So anytime that we can have good fuel for training and I like it,
- 12:36like I'm I'm all for it. I know that like most people are
- 12:38going to be like they're waxy and gross, but it's just my
- 12:40thing. I can do it.
- 12:41I have a question for you, Jenna.
- 12:42Yeah. Do the layers of the candy corn
- 12:44have different flavors or is the entire piece of candy one
- 12:48flavor? I think it's one flavor, but
- 12:50maybe I'm wrong. But it's also like I'm not, I'm
- 12:52not breaking it apart. I mean like probably was when I
- 12:54was a kid and being like, and I only eat this flavor.
- 12:57So to me it's just like one flavor.
- 12:58So I don't know. OK, I might be crazy then
- 13:01because I don't like what again I I pass on them.
- 13:03I don't love them but like I used to eat like the flavor
- 13:05separately when I was a kid. And they are different.
- 13:08I don't think so. I don't know.
- 13:10Oh man, they might be crazy. OK, they could be.
- 13:13I don't know. Oh, OK, next one.
- 13:15Pumpkin pie for breakfast. Smash or pass?
- 13:18Oh Lily, go on 1st on this one. I am a sweet squirrely but I do
- 13:22not think I could, so I think I have to pass.
- 13:25I'm smashing times 10. OK, tell us why Riley.
- 13:27I just like. Love pumpkin pie.
- 13:29I I don't know what it is. I'm like I don't love pumpkin
- 13:32spice, but I love pumpkin and I think I like pumpkin like
- 13:35earlier in the day. So like a pumpkin pie, a
- 13:37pumpkin's go and a pumpkin muffin, a pumpkin bread.
- 13:40I feel like I want that like in the morning and I have
- 13:43definitely pumpkin pie for breakfast.
- 13:45I love that so much. I think there is a huge
- 13:47difference between pumpkin spice and pumpkin flavor, so I'm gonna
- 13:51put that out there like I'm AI, like a pumpkin bread.
- 13:53I'm with you on that. What about you?
- 13:55Are you smashing or passing? I'm gonna pass on that just
- 13:57because, like of all pies, I'm not the biggest pumpkin pie fan.
- 14:01Like I want an apple pie and cold apple pie.
- 14:04To me, I'm like, I can do that. So I am the odd 1.
- 14:07Today, Riley is shaking her head no.
- 14:09For anyone not watching the video, she's all the way out on
- 14:12the apple pie. All the way out.
- 14:13I'm the weird one. I think this is what's happened.
- 14:15We've found out that I'm eating pumpkin pie for breakfast, that
- 14:18I think that there's multiple flavors in the candy corn.
- 14:21I think I might be the odd one now.
- 14:23OK, fun sized Halloween candy. Define fun sized.
- 14:27The little bite sized ones. Smash if it's a good type of
- 14:30candy. Yeah, I think it's nice
- 14:33sometimes because then you get to like pick multiple types,
- 14:39multiple different fun sized ones and it's like trick or
- 14:42treating all over again. OK, Speaking of that, smash your
- 14:45pass matching costumes with groups of friends or significant
- 14:49others. Riley, you can include Charlie
- 14:51in this for sure. Smash.
- 14:53Me too. Riley, do you have costumes this
- 14:55year? So.
- 14:56Charlie has a costume and maybe we we'll do like a poll on what
- 14:59people think Charlie is going to be.
- 15:01We do not have a group costume this year because I'm actually
- 15:05not going to be with Charlie for Halloween because I'm going to
- 15:07be in New York. Well, now I'm sad.
- 15:10I know, sorry, but my parents are going to be here and they
- 15:15refuse to partake in the costume that Charlie's going to be.
- 15:19But Charlie has a costume and I, I mean she's a year and a half
- 15:23ish, like a little bit over a year and a half.
- 15:25So I don't know if she is truly excited, but I think she's
- 15:28excited about her costume. OK.
- 15:29So she's kind of like on the edge of it.
- 15:31I mean, she's like she's interested in a sock.
- 15:33So like, I'm like, are you actually interested in your
- 15:35costume? Am I not sure?
- 15:36Well, I'm excited. Let's definitely do a poll and
- 15:39see if you guys can guess what Charlie's Halloween costume is
- 15:42going to be. Willie, are you dressing up this
- 15:44year? I.
- 15:45Don't think so. As of right now, I'm excited to
- 15:48be in a house for the first time where I get trick or treaters,
- 15:51so I am looking forward for that.
- 15:54That is me too. I am so excited to have trick or
- 15:56treaters for the first time. The other time that I lived in a
- 16:00place where I could have trick or treaters, I went for a run
- 16:03and I didn't realize that they did trick or treating really
- 16:06early in the afternoon. Like they did it right after
- 16:08school so I missed them all so. So I will be ready this year.
- 16:13Smash your pass. Dressing your pets up in
- 16:16Halloween costumes. Smash.
- 16:17I think that it's. Adorable.
- 16:19I'm also smashing but my dogs are saying pass.
- 16:21Same Smash your pass running in Halloween themed races in a
- 16:27costume. Smash.
- 16:28Smash to observe other people doing it.
- 16:30But if I was in a costume running I would be so miserable.
- 16:34Depending on the costume, of course.
- 16:35But if the costume consists of a T-shirt that has a like, that is
- 16:40the costume. I think I could do it.
- 16:41But otherwise I think I'd have to pass.
- 16:43Like I am so particular about being comfortable when I'm
- 16:46running. I don't think I could do it even
- 16:47if it was just a shorter race. So I'm no fun what I'm doing it.
- 16:50You want to be in AT Rex suit or something?
- 16:53No, I wouldn't, but maybe, maybe we could do a Halloween themed
- 16:58run as like an RBSN team and we could have like a matching.
- 17:02Have you seen, I think it was London where they had all the
- 17:04people that were like in a four person costume trying to break
- 17:08their record for the fastest marathon.
- 17:10We don't need to do a marathon, but we could do something like
- 17:12that, like where they were like in the scooby-doo bus.
- 17:15Have you seen that? And they're like running in it.
- 17:16We could do something like that. I would do that.
- 17:19There was somebody in Berlin who was like trying to break a
- 17:21record for like the fastest marathon run as a chef carrying
- 17:26a pot. Oh my God, when I ran my
- 17:30marathon there was a guy attempting to break the world
- 17:33record for fastest marathon bouncing a tennis ball in a
- 17:35tennis racket. And he still ran like a sub
- 17:38three. He was like, I don't know if I'm
- 17:40gonna do it, but we passed him and he was has the whole like,
- 17:43gear. He's got the like the shirt on
- 17:45that says this is what I'm doing.
- 17:47And Nolan was like, I gotta talk to him.
- 17:48And I was like, of course you do.
- 17:50So we were like at like miles 1617.
- 17:52And he was like, it's getting close.
- 17:53I don't know if I'm gonna break the record.
- 17:54And I was like, I can't believe one already exists but.
- 17:58See, how can you not smash that right?
- 18:00Like got to make it fun. That's true because the.
- 18:03Whole point of running in the 1st place is supposed to be fun.
- 18:05So without that, where are we at?
- 18:07Smasher Pass Decorating with fake spider webs.
- 18:11Pass pass. My neighborhood though gets very
- 18:14into Halloween apparently and everyone has like the big like
- 18:18giant skeleton, you know the tall guy.
- 18:20And a lot of people have the dog skeleton like the big one and my
- 18:23dog is afraid of it. Poor George.
- 18:26Welcome to the suburbs, Jenna. Where everybody has the skeleton
- 18:30that's available at Costco and you can pick them out and you're
- 18:33like, OK, well, that was last year's model.
- 18:37We live in really old houses. Like there's not closet space in
- 18:40our houses. And I'm like, where are you guys
- 18:42storing this skeleton? Like where does he live the rest
- 18:45of, you know, 11 months out of the year?
- 18:49A lot of people in our neighborhood will dress them up
- 18:51for Christmas, so they are out for like a couple of months.
- 18:55Oh OK, smash her past that Halloween decor repurposed as
- 18:59Christmas decor. I'm smashing for them but it's
- 19:01not going in my yard. OK.
- 19:04But if you have the giant skeleton, I think that that's
- 19:07only fair that you have the ability to use it for more than
- 19:11just one month, because I think that's hard A. 100% my grandma
- 19:15is also one that does a Halloween Christmas tree
- 19:19Christmas tree. So there's multiple different
- 19:21ways that people be pulling out the decor every single month for
- 19:25the here. I've heard of Thanksgiving
- 19:27Christmas trees, but never a Halloween Christmas tree that's
- 19:30new. Yes, it has all of the skeletons
- 19:33and everything just as if it was.
- 19:34Christmas. Oh my gosh, that's hilarious.
- 19:36Well, I love your grandma. That's so good.
- 19:38OK, smash your pass. Haunted houses.
- 19:41No, no, no, no, no. Past times 10 I no, no, no, no.
- 19:44I do not need that in my life. Lily, what about you?
- 19:47I think I am also a pass. I haven't gone to one since I
- 19:52was much, much younger, and I think there's a reason for that.
- 19:55Closest I want to be to a haunted house is like watching
- 19:57somebody else go through it. That's the closest I could.
- 19:59Get I am literally punching somebody if they come after me
- 20:01in a haunted house. Like I'm throwing both.
- 20:03Like I like no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 20:06I just had a visceral reaction thinking about it right now.
- 20:08It's like literally past. I'm done.
- 20:10The closest I'm getting to a haunted house is Haunted Mansion
- 20:13at Disneyland or Disney World. Oh, that's a fun ride.
- 20:15Yeah, that's where they have like the the holographic ghosts.
- 20:19And they do like a night before Christmas thing, so it's set up
- 20:23from October through December. Wait, so fun, I didn't know
- 20:26that. That's it.
- 20:27But I'm not going in a haunted house.
- 20:29I don't blame you, I'm not either.
- 20:30I'm gonna wait outside for everyone.
- 20:31Have fun. Cheer you on, Smash.
- 20:34Your pass Apple cider. Doughnuts smash.
- 20:36I literally had ones. Where do you get them?
- 20:39There's like a local coffee shop and they make their own
- 20:41doughnuts. So it's like apple cider
- 20:43doughnut and you get like a Maple glaze on it that sounds.
- 20:45So good I can't say. I've ever had one.
- 20:48I might need to try one. The pumpkin spice latte smasher
- 20:52is not going to have had an apple cider doughnut Lily, what
- 20:56are you doing? No, I'm missing out.
- 20:58Clearly. OK, well Lily has homework this
- 21:00weekend and it's to go try apple cider doughnuts.
- 21:04What about corn mazes? Pass.
- 21:06I mean, smash, whoa, smash, smash.
- 21:09But pass if they're haunted, because now we're back to a
- 21:12haunted house, but I'm just in the cornfield.
- 21:13Like no. But I'm smashing.
- 21:15I used to actually have my birthday party at corn mazes as
- 21:18a kid because my birthday's near Halloween.
- 21:20Oh wait, that's fun. Yeah, I'm a smash all the way on
- 21:23this one because like, I miss going to like, the apple
- 21:26picking, corn maze, fall festivities, stuff that we used
- 21:29to have in Ohio. Like we don't get that here in
- 21:31Arizona. And I miss that.
- 21:32Like there's all those like funny Instagram videos about
- 21:35people going and doing those things, but it's so fun so.
- 21:38I think I'm smash as well, except I don't think I've ever
- 21:42been to one that's not haunted. I need to re do that and get
- 21:47regular corn maze. You need to go to the US has
- 21:50like apple cider doughnuts and apple cider and you have your
- 21:53little sweet treat and walk around the corn maze with like,
- 21:56you know, all the nice little families and the kids in wagons
- 21:58and it's not hard and you're not lost.
- 22:00Yes, I think that I need to plan a perfect fall weekend for
- 22:04myself and do all the things. I love that idea.
- 22:07OK, last one eating pumpkin flavored everything until
- 22:10December. I think I'm a smash.
- 22:14Lily loves the pumpkin I. Do I really do.
- 22:18And I think it's so funny that you guys said about pumpkin
- 22:20flavor because pumpkin spice is what's in pumpkin pie.
- 22:24Like the seasoning, pumpkin spice is what's in pumpkin pie.
- 22:28It's the synthetic flavor of pumpkin spice.
- 22:32Like there. I feel like there's a like,
- 22:34yeah, like a Tua pumpkin spice. I'm getting really into this but
- 22:37like and there's not that Tua pumpkin flavor.
- 22:40OK, fair. I think it has a lot to do with
- 22:43maybe this is on me because I like a pumpkin bread or pumpkin
- 22:47muffin or something like that and it's not hot.
- 22:50And if I'm drinking a pumpkin spice latte, they're hot.
- 22:52And I think maybe that's where I run into issues.
- 22:55Maybe that's why and I need to try like an iced version.
- 22:57Maybe I'd like it better. But I also don't really like
- 22:59love iced coffee. Like I'm a hot coffee drinker
- 23:01all year round. So maybe that's my problem.
- 23:04The pumpkin foam from Starbucks I really like actually.
- 23:08So we are very specific on whether or not we smash or pass
- 23:12a pumpkin, pumpkin spice, what format comes in like we could do
- 23:15an entire episode on just like specific pumpkin things That's.
- 23:19Me, I'm obviously the problem, like I'm obviously a diva here
- 23:22on my pumpkin, but I just yeah, I'm very particular I.
- 23:25Guess that's fair. You know what she like, that's
- 23:27what matters. See, that's a good point.
- 23:29So we're going to wear the Halloween themed costume when we
- 23:32run. We're going to have a pumpkin
- 23:33spice latte if we want it, and we're going to have an apple
- 23:35cider doughnut. Thank you so much for listening
