- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with our radio. Hey everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Is Ashley and it's Ben. He's back to recap episode
- 0:16Speaker 1: three a Bachelor in Paradise. Yeah, sorry about that. I was.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm in Nashville right now. The man Hope United has
- 0:23Speaker 1: board meetings, and so I was in Nashville. I'm in
- 0:25Speaker 1: Nashville at the meetings. But we have a little break
- 0:28Speaker 1: and I said, hey, if I'm gonna have a little
- 0:30Speaker 1: time from the meetings, what their thing to do, then
- 0:33Speaker 1: get on here and talk Bachelor in Paradise to my
- 0:35Speaker 1: friend Ashley down. I mean, we've kind of like missed
- 0:39Speaker 1: each other throughout the fall season. Obviously I was in Vegas,
- 0:44Speaker 1: um you were in Italy. We got to catch up
- 0:46Speaker 1: on that. And then now it's kind of end of
- 0:49Speaker 1: the quarterboard meeting season, so I'm gonna kind of be
- 0:52Speaker 1: in and out for the next two weeks, but then
- 0:53Speaker 1: we'll be right back at it. We're still watching Paradise.
- 0:56Speaker 1: We still enjoy Paradise. This is, uh say, the momentum
- 1:00Speaker 1: for Paradise feels like it's definitely picking up after episode three,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and today we're gonna have Gena vivan Uh one of
- 1:07Speaker 1: the star of the show. I was seriously definitely one
- 1:09Speaker 1: of the stars. Yeah, I like gene Vieve. She was
- 1:13Speaker 1: in Vegas with us actually, and and I kind of
- 1:15Speaker 1: mentioned this you the last time we're together, but I said,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I said, I could just see what kind of person
- 1:22Speaker 1: she would be on the beach by who she is
- 1:24Speaker 1: in person. And some might love her. I think she's
- 1:28Speaker 1: gonna have a massive filing. Some might not like her.
- 1:31Speaker 1: She definitely reminds me of a lot of the characters
- 1:33Speaker 1: that we remember from Paradise of the Past, totally. Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 1: She is like not afraid to be dramatic or have
- 1:42Speaker 1: a lot of feelings really fast, be vocal about them.
- 1:46Speaker 1: And I love that. So we'll have jenevieval and a
- 1:48Speaker 1: little bit and we'll talk all about her storyline with her,
- 1:52Speaker 1: of course, but before we do, before we get to
- 1:55Speaker 1: her storyline, which was a huge part of this episode,
- 1:58Speaker 1: let's talk about some other things that went down during
- 2:02Speaker 1: this this episode. So first we start with the cocktail party.
- 2:05Speaker 1: It's where we left off, and I guess, like the
- 2:08Speaker 1: there's a couple of things going on. Of course, one
- 2:11Speaker 1: is that Jacob is basically the Bachelor in Paradise. He
- 2:16Speaker 1: is probably the guy with the most rows up for grabs,
- 2:21Speaker 1: you know, like he has no firm connection to anyone,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and we see Lace and Kira and Haley particularly going
- 2:32Speaker 1: after him. No big loves, I don't think coming coming
- 2:37Speaker 1: out of any of those relationships. But he's got to
- 2:39Speaker 1: give his rows to somebody. Did you see this one coming, Ashley?
- 2:43Speaker 1: I mean I think as a viewer, we see a
- 2:45Speaker 1: guy show up to the beach shirtless, very little his body,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and you're thinking, this guy is just there, here's the deal,
- 2:54Speaker 1: here's now. Actually I kind of didn't finish my thoughts there,
- 2:57Speaker 1: so let me finish my thought and then finish my
- 2:58Speaker 1: second thought. My first thought is he shows up the
- 3:00Speaker 1: beach be much nude, it's a lot of attention, a
- 3:03Speaker 1: lot of lass, and we think, hey, that's for show, right,
- 3:06Speaker 1: he's the one guy willing to do this. However, we
- 3:09Speaker 1: saw last season with Kenny work out really well, and
- 3:12Speaker 1: now we're kind of seeing it with Jacob. Now, like
- 3:14Speaker 1: you said, the love connection might not be there, but
- 3:17Speaker 1: he does get the attention I think he was seeking
- 3:21Speaker 1: and he's not without some affection, and so is this
- 3:25Speaker 1: the new strategy? The guy shows with the beach naked
- 3:27Speaker 1: that's ripped. It's all the gets all the uh kind
- 3:31Speaker 1: of like I guess, well, it's great for for a
- 3:36Speaker 1: week that he has the rose, but not necessarily the
- 3:39Speaker 1: weeks that he doesn't have the rose, because you do
- 3:42Speaker 1: usually need to have a pretty good connection going forward,
- 3:45Speaker 1: or at least a really solid friendship. And I don't
- 3:48Speaker 1: even see him having a really solid friendship with any
- 3:50Speaker 1: of these girls. But but it is quite entertaining when
- 3:53Speaker 1: we see Kira try to woo him over with the
- 3:56Speaker 1: pedals or whatever, like the big tropical leaves on all
- 4:00Speaker 1: of her private parts. Uh, it's revealing. I mean we
- 4:06Speaker 1: can say that right, yes, But it seems like the
- 4:10Speaker 1: couples we have going into this rose ceremony are Michael
- 4:14Speaker 1: and Jasmine, um Serene and Brandon, and then um Andrew
- 4:20Speaker 1: and Teddy. Now Andrew and Teddy totally fall apart later
- 4:22Speaker 1: in the episode we'll get set. Then. Another big cocktail
- 4:27Speaker 1: party storyline is who is going to give Victoria a rose?
- 4:31Speaker 1: You know, Victoria is gonna get a rose, but is
- 4:34Speaker 1: it gonna be from Justin who she went on the
- 4:36Speaker 1: date with, who still has a love triangle with Genevieve
- 4:40Speaker 1: or is it going to be from Johnny who kind
- 4:43Speaker 1: of comes out of right like left field. We don't
- 4:47Speaker 1: see them interacting at all really, maybe a little bit
- 4:50Speaker 1: um in the one the episode in where she arrives
- 4:53Speaker 1: but she decided to take justin that was who she
- 4:56Speaker 1: was going after. Then all of a sudden she has
- 4:58Speaker 1: interested in Johnny, but he's in a pretty solid ish
- 5:03Speaker 1: thing with Hunter. How do you feel about the fact
- 5:07Speaker 1: that Johnny just abandons Hunter and gives Victoria like the
- 5:13Speaker 1: siren that's like the sexy siren arose after just really
- 5:18Speaker 1: one sit down. Yeah, well, I think we've seen it
- 5:23Speaker 1: every season with Paradise, so we've talked about this before.
- 5:25Speaker 1: You're in Paradise to date, right you, I mean, I
- 5:29Speaker 1: don't know what the it. What makes Paradise beautiful is
- 5:34Speaker 1: the boundaries and typical traditional ways of dating are kind
- 5:39Speaker 1: of have to be thrown out the window. Right You're
- 5:41Speaker 1: gonna have to go on multiple dates with multiple different people,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and you're gonna have to live in the same place
- 5:45Speaker 1: with those people at the same time. It's gonna feel
- 5:48Speaker 1: very intimate and very blustered and very confusing. That's what
- 5:52Speaker 1: makes Paradise interesting. I don't necessarily mind the dating part
- 5:57Speaker 1: of things and saying, Okay, I'm into you, interest it
- 6:00Speaker 1: in you. I'm gonna try and see if maybe somebody
- 6:03Speaker 1: else my attention more every I mean, I feel like
- 6:06Speaker 1: every couple that's worked actually, I mean, I bet you
- 6:09Speaker 1: could probably hold me out on this and say I'm wrong,
- 6:12Speaker 1: But it feels like most of the time couples that
- 6:15Speaker 1: really work at the end have split apart for his
- 6:17Speaker 1: season for a couple of episodes, and then they come
- 6:20Speaker 1: back together and they realize just how special that other
- 6:23Speaker 1: person is. That's my thought. Are you saying that you
- 6:27Speaker 1: think that Johnny may regret this decision? I don't know. Yeah, Okay,
- 6:34Speaker 1: well we'll find out soon. Uh. And we do also
- 6:38Speaker 1: have Romeo hanging around, and Rodico is um Romeo. He's
- 6:46Speaker 1: like basically crying at the beginning of the episode because
- 6:49Speaker 1: he has nobody get to give a rose to nobody
- 6:52Speaker 1: wants his rose. It's pretty crazy to see people like
- 6:57Speaker 1: being like, no, I do not want to an ex
- 7:00Speaker 1: arose from you. You've messed up so much, poor guy,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but also not poor guy, like, oh, somebody said he
- 7:08Speaker 1: got himself into the situation. That's true. Very Blake Hortsman, Oh,
- 7:14Speaker 1: we can't compare Romeo's actions to that was a little
- 7:19Speaker 1: fling off camera versus him sleeping with a whole ton
- 7:22Speaker 1: of people at stage coach a ton of people. But two,
- 7:27Speaker 1: I get that, but it is does feel very similar
- 7:30Speaker 1: to what emotions are being like people upset with him
- 7:33Speaker 1: because of the same stuff, right, stuff was happening behind
- 7:36Speaker 1: the scenes. I still have a problem with it. It's
- 7:38Speaker 1: gonna happen. I don't know when as cast members, like
- 7:41Speaker 1: you're gonna talk to somebody else in between your season
- 7:43Speaker 1: and Paradise, especially when there's a year or so out
- 7:47Speaker 1: there dating you're going to events like I mean, I'm
- 7:50Speaker 1: just happy that we get to watch it on Paradise. Yeah,
- 7:53Speaker 1: actually kind of did kind of skip over the Justin part.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you last week, and I we're
- 8:00Speaker 1: obviously want to talk to a few guests as we go.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Are you surprised that Justin's getting the attention or kind
- 8:05Speaker 1: of I feel like he's one of the top people
- 8:08Speaker 1: on the beach um women really like him. Are you
- 8:11Speaker 1: surprised by that at all or did you expect that
- 8:13Speaker 1: coming into the season. Am I surprised that women like Justin. No,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I'm not surprised. I was expecting that He's He's got
- 8:22Speaker 1: a great personality and he's very cute. Um, I like,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I liked being around him during our time there. I
- 8:28Speaker 1: also think that we have to talk. Well, I want
- 8:32Speaker 1: to address what you were just saying before you jumped
- 8:34Speaker 1: into Justin Romeo. Like the problem with Romeo, Jared and
- 8:40Speaker 1: I were talking on the podcast yesterday, is that he
- 8:43Speaker 1: tells Kira, I don't want to I want I'm not
- 8:46Speaker 1: going to be with you because I really do want
- 8:48Speaker 1: to put like my eggs and Jeel's basket and then
- 8:52Speaker 1: sounds terrible. Yeah okay, and then um, an hour, you know,
- 8:58Speaker 1: hours later is like, Hi, Brittany, I don't want my
- 9:02Speaker 1: eggs and Jill's basket anymore. I want them in yours.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And I'm going to continue with that comparison. So he
- 9:09Speaker 1: just is all over the place, and that is why
- 9:12Speaker 1: he got in trouble. It's not really for what ever
- 9:15Speaker 1: happened off camera before. You know. Yeah, I get it.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I mean I do I understand it. I don't know.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, how else could you have handled that? Actually,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you've been on the beach, You're on the beach this season.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Obviously you're a trusted voice and a voice of wisdom
- 9:31Speaker 1: to the people trying to pursue each other on the beach.
- 9:34Speaker 1: How could he have handled that better? Or what if
- 9:36Speaker 1: you were down there, like, hey, Roma, this is the
- 9:38Speaker 1: next things you want to do, this is how you
- 9:40Speaker 1: should do it. Um. I think what he should have
- 9:42Speaker 1: done has basically just been like, hey, Kia, I'm not
- 9:46Speaker 1: really interested in you. I am interested in seeing where
- 9:49Speaker 1: things go with Jill, but I'm not ready to, of course,
- 9:51Speaker 1: commit to that, because there are some other people that
- 9:53Speaker 1: I have my eyes on, so I'd like to get
- 9:55Speaker 1: to know Jill Moore and other people. I do think
- 9:58Speaker 1: that in hindsight, he may I have used Jill as
- 10:02Speaker 1: an excuse to get rid of Kira in a nice
- 10:05Speaker 1: way where he wasn't exactly saying it's not you, it's
- 10:10Speaker 1: you know, like it's not I don't like you. You
- 10:12Speaker 1: know that would be wrong, right? Yeah? Not okay, somebody
- 10:16Speaker 1: to get well, I think. I mean, at this point
- 10:21Speaker 1: in time, obviously you you've talked about Jill before, you know, Bill, Um,
- 10:28Speaker 1: how do you feel like she's handling the beach? How
- 10:32Speaker 1: do I feel like Jill's handling the beach. I mean
- 10:34Speaker 1: hilariously and amazing, and I love it so much. Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: so proud. We're gonna have her on the podcast tomorrow.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Everything that comes out of her mouth is so funny
- 10:45Speaker 1: and over the top because she's that tells Romeo, she
- 10:47Speaker 1: goes um our ship is sailed and it's already landed
- 10:51Speaker 1: at the Middle East. Already, it's already at the Middle East.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Is so good. I love her so much. Let's see
- 10:59Speaker 1: what else of so Street, just going to the Rose
- 11:01Speaker 1: ceremony and what happens, Like we said earlier, so much.
- 11:04Speaker 1: There's so much here actually we have to talk about
- 11:06Speaker 1: with Genevieve so much the show. Yeah, let's break down
- 11:10Speaker 1: the show. Let's break down her big chunk of the
- 11:12Speaker 1: show with her. I mean, who better to talk to
- 11:14Speaker 1: you about it, right than the person in herself. And
- 11:16Speaker 1: so let's get to the Rose ceremony. The rose ceremony
- 11:19Speaker 1: has lots of roses that we really don't know where
- 11:21Speaker 1: they're going to. Like I said earlier, we just know
- 11:24Speaker 1: that Andrews is probably going to Teddy's, which it does,
- 11:26Speaker 1: Brandon's own, and michael A to Sierra. Now we have
- 11:30Speaker 1: Logan to Na which also isn't particularly surprising, but it's
- 11:34Speaker 1: not like they're like glued. Then we have Casey giving
- 11:38Speaker 1: his rose to Brittany. We haven't seen a lot of
- 11:41Speaker 1: either of these two yet. I don't think that there's
- 11:43Speaker 1: some great romance going on there. Yea. I love Brittany
- 11:46Speaker 1: and I have no idea why all these men aren't
- 11:49Speaker 1: fighting for her. She's got it all, She's the total package.
- 11:53Speaker 1: We'll see if that changes. Um. Then we have okay, good,
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm so glad that you Jared will go on a RAM.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Jared wanted to go on a write yesterday, but I
- 12:02Speaker 1: was like, Jared, that would be like, um, you would
- 12:05Speaker 1: kind of be spoiling things if you said that you
- 12:07Speaker 1: knew Brittany. You know what I mean. Because we didn't
- 12:09Speaker 1: see the roast ceremony until this episode. He and I
- 12:13Speaker 1: just told her like every hour, we don't understand why
- 12:17Speaker 1: isn't everybody coming after you? You are? You got it all? Anyway?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Well again, hopefully that does change when somebody comes in
- 12:23Speaker 1: for her. Um. But then we have Jacob to Lace.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I would have thought it was gonna go to Kira,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but whatever, again, whatever, I'm glad it's Lace. So glad
- 12:38Speaker 1: it's like season of course all of us are. Then
- 12:43Speaker 1: we have Justin to Genevieve, which is the shocker and
- 12:45Speaker 1: we'll address it later with her. And then we have
- 12:48Speaker 1: Johnny to Victoria, which is a huge shock because I
- 12:52Speaker 1: mean he and her only had that one conversation. Then
- 12:57Speaker 1: we have Romeo apologize to Jill, saying that he made
- 13:02Speaker 1: mistakes and hurt her. He wants the Rose to go
- 13:05Speaker 1: to her for a fresh opportunity to work on their
- 13:09Speaker 1: relationship or for her to explore new connections. So he's
- 13:13Speaker 1: just leaving an open unded which is very That's a
- 13:16Speaker 1: good move. Good job, Romeo. And then Jill says yes
- 13:19Speaker 1: because she knows that nothing in Paradise is guaranteed. Kira
- 13:22Speaker 1: Hunter and Haley go home. Uh, none of that is
- 13:26Speaker 1: super duper surprising. Haley was an obvious choice that Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 1: here's a cup of questions for you. Actually, so one,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I just want to make the comment that Haley might
- 13:38Speaker 1: have the shortest average day on this show of any
- 13:44Speaker 1: contestant ever. I mean, I think she was a night wonder,
- 13:47Speaker 1: wasn't she was she a night winner on her season
- 13:51Speaker 1: in the Batchelor. I believe she was a night winner
- 13:53Speaker 1: and then she's I mean, what really, how far in
- 13:56Speaker 1: are they a week into? Yeah, so she got eliminated
- 13:59Speaker 1: at the first Row ceremony both times. Yeah, I mean,
- 14:03Speaker 1: poor girl, But also like she's a little too she
- 14:07Speaker 1: just no, I don't know, there's something about her that
- 14:10Speaker 1: doesn't make me want to hang with her. Hey, obviously
- 14:15Speaker 1: people in Paradise don't want to hang either. Second question
- 14:28Speaker 1: for you, and out of these relationships that are formed
- 14:31Speaker 1: from the first Row ceremony, obviously you just ran through room.
- 14:34Speaker 1: If you had to put your your money on who
- 14:37Speaker 1: these relationships to make it through the end, who would
- 14:40Speaker 1: it be. I mean, I think we have to take
- 14:43Speaker 1: Brandon and Serena out of this because that's like, let's
- 14:46Speaker 1: let's go with somebody other than those two. Well, people
- 14:49Speaker 1: are going to know that I'm like lying because like,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I know where a lot of these relationships go, even
- 14:54Speaker 1: just in the following week, because we're there for a week.
- 14:58Speaker 1: So I'm not gonna I'll say who. I'm interested as
- 15:03Speaker 1: a viewer in seeing where things go because they seem
- 15:06Speaker 1: very strong. Now does that make sense. It's not a
- 15:09Speaker 1: good way of wording it. That's a fair way of
- 15:11Speaker 1: work wording it. Okay, it seems like Mike Lay and
- 15:19Speaker 1: Sierra would be the second strongest couple, following Brandon and Serene.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You're excited and then um, after this rose ceremony, I
- 15:32Speaker 1: don't feel strong about anybody else except for I guess
- 15:35Speaker 1: I would feel strong about Andrew and Teddy. But then
- 15:39Speaker 1: we see at the end of the episode where Andrew
- 15:40Speaker 1: and Teddy go. So I'm not feeling strong about anybody.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I think it's kind of a typical of Paradise to
- 15:48Speaker 1: only have like that one star couple at this point
- 15:51Speaker 1: that you just know as smooth sailing. Yeah, so if
- 15:54Speaker 1: you're okay before we continue on here, Actually, if you're
- 15:58Speaker 1: a strong couple in Paradice, if you are a weak
- 16:01Speaker 1: oneer where like there's a love connection, Uh, everybody knows it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Producers know what other people know it. Are they gonna
- 16:08Speaker 1: mess with you? Is this good? Are they going to
- 16:10Speaker 1: protect your relationship and try to continue to foster it
- 16:13Speaker 1: and make it healthy or do you think that typically
- 16:18Speaker 1: will get rocked a little bit, They'll have to make
- 16:20Speaker 1: it through some rough patch and then at the end
- 16:23Speaker 1: we see they either come back together or choose not to.
- 16:26Speaker 1: What's the typical What do you typically see and expect
- 16:28Speaker 1: in Paradise. I typically would expect one couple to be
- 16:33Speaker 1: smooth sailing pretty much the entire time, or their relationship
- 16:36Speaker 1: doesn't get messed with, and I think that would be
- 16:38Speaker 1: Brandon and Serene. Those are also the couples that like
- 16:41Speaker 1: barely get any screen time because like they're just in
- 16:44Speaker 1: love and a little bit boring for the audience. I'm
- 16:47Speaker 1: excited to see that date though, that's previewed at the
- 16:50Speaker 1: end of the episode where Serene says, like she's never
- 16:52Speaker 1: seen anybody look at her the way that he looked
- 16:54Speaker 1: at her, and that was like adorable. He also we
- 16:59Speaker 1: like we got a teaser of him saying that he's
- 17:00Speaker 1: falling in love with her. They're gonna be cute to watch,
- 17:03Speaker 1: but again, like we're not going to get like any
- 17:05Speaker 1: drama from it, so they're not going to be seen
- 17:06Speaker 1: a ton. Then they'll be like one or two relationships
- 17:10Speaker 1: that have to stand like tests and intruders and all that.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And I uh, if you're a strong couple and you're
- 17:29Speaker 1: you are just like hanging out, what are you doing
- 17:32Speaker 1: all day? Are you just sitting there cuddling and kissing
- 17:34Speaker 1: and talking or are you like swimming in the ocean.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Are you just laying by the pool? You just having drinks?
- 17:40Speaker 1: I mean, if you know you are the boring couple
- 17:44Speaker 1: who was like, I just want to get out of
- 17:45Speaker 1: here with you, I would leave to day and leave
- 17:48Speaker 1: this beach. What is your day look like? Your day
- 17:53Speaker 1: looks like a lot of just sitting around by the
- 17:56Speaker 1: pool if you want to. It's not bad life, not
- 18:02Speaker 1: a bad life. Some people get bored, and I can
- 18:04Speaker 1: see that, but you do have so many people to
- 18:06Speaker 1: talk to, so and then there's like a lot of
- 18:08Speaker 1: good food to eat, and there's a lot of good
- 18:11Speaker 1: drinks to drink. And I don't go in the water
- 18:13Speaker 1: because it's very scary in there. The undertow is strong.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You don't go in the water. But the pool people
- 18:20Speaker 1: are to pool a lot. The pool is really warm. Well,
- 18:25Speaker 1: thanks for the insight. Actually all right. So the next
- 18:27Speaker 1: scene is the next morning after the rose ceremony, when
- 18:31Speaker 1: people are waking up tired, because these rose ceremonies seem
- 18:34Speaker 1: to last till what oh, the early ones. I don't
- 18:40Speaker 1: know why it is and why it is um like
- 18:43Speaker 1: that in Paradise, But again, it's just like the regular season.
- 18:46Speaker 1: The early cocktail parties are so long and so late
- 18:50Speaker 1: to get a little bit better as the season goes on,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but oh my gosh, it's probably around four thirty when
- 18:58Speaker 1: the final road is given out and then you wake
- 19:00Speaker 1: up at what time. It's so evil because there's usually
- 19:04Speaker 1: an intruder that comes down that morning and they're waking
- 19:08Speaker 1: you up by seven thirty eight, and you're we're working
- 19:12Speaker 1: on the three and a half hours. That seems like
- 19:15Speaker 1: it's probably not a good three and a half hours.
- 19:17Speaker 1: You're probably a little drunk, it's hot, sweaty, you're tired,
- 19:21Speaker 1: your emotional been nervous. It's weird. And then two hours later,
- 19:26Speaker 1: back up at a bed on national television, waking up
- 19:29Speaker 1: and that's what we see the next morning. So the
- 19:31Speaker 1: first intruders, can I just call them intruders forever? I
- 19:36Speaker 1: like it. I think it's gonna I think it really works. Yeah,
- 19:40Speaker 1: they are. The next morning, we have Aaron and James
- 19:45Speaker 1: come in. All the girls are like so into Aaron
- 19:48Speaker 1: and James. It's actually funny because I think of them
- 19:51Speaker 1: as like a comedy duo, not as like this beefy,
- 19:54Speaker 1: hunky kind of remind me of Night at the Roxbury. Yeah,
- 19:58Speaker 1: like like come in with their head like, you know,
- 20:01Speaker 1: shaking on the side, shirts off like girls. Yeah, it's
- 20:06Speaker 1: so funny because I think that's true to Aaron's character
- 20:10Speaker 1: and not so much James. I had to say that
- 20:12Speaker 1: when we were with Aaron and James, like James seems
- 20:15Speaker 1: super sweet, Like there's nothing like bashed BROTHERI really about
- 20:19Speaker 1: his aura, right, he just seems like a lover, not
- 20:23Speaker 1: like a fighter. But I I was like, Aaron, you're
- 20:26Speaker 1: so annoying on TV. I was like, I've talked so
- 20:28Speaker 1: much back about you because you just seem like you're
- 20:31Speaker 1: always looking for a fight. Oh I want to fight,
- 20:35Speaker 1: always angry. I'm like, I'm angry. And then in real
- 20:38Speaker 1: life he wasn't like that at all. He was so
- 20:41Speaker 1: fun yea and life hearted and chokey. Yeah, I mean
- 20:47Speaker 1: he does come off very ingred like Duff sets him
- 20:52Speaker 1: off quickly. It is. It's odd. I mean, it's the
- 20:55Speaker 1: reason why you said, Hey, I've I'm glad you told
- 20:58Speaker 1: him that. Aaron, I've talked a lot of smack about
- 21:01Speaker 1: you because I don't know what it is, but you
- 21:03Speaker 1: have like four or five moments that like are definitely
- 21:07Speaker 1: not easy to watch. I am excited to see Aaron
- 21:09Speaker 1: on the beach because obviously is there, Genevieve is there.
- 21:14Speaker 1: This was a controversy and Mentel all Um few seasons
- 21:18Speaker 1: back that was crazy crazy, So it is. I mean,
- 21:23Speaker 1: he does kind of bring outside story that we all
- 21:27Speaker 1: know and are aware of into Paradise and so now
- 21:30Speaker 1: we get to watch his fans being like this is
- 21:32Speaker 1: this is gonna be interesting. It is going to be interesting.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Well that that we see the date and it's actually
- 21:39Speaker 1: drama free. It's crazy, but we do need to talk
- 21:42Speaker 1: to them. But we did talk to that, talk to
- 21:45Speaker 1: Genevieve about that, about her relationship with and how it
- 21:48Speaker 1: changed so quickly, and her decision to go on the
- 21:52Speaker 1: date with Aaron when she was leaving Justin who so
- 21:57Speaker 1: generously gave her the rose the night before, if though
- 22:00Speaker 1: they were not really on the best terms. We'll say
- 22:04Speaker 1: this actually when we're in Vegas, you know, I'm I'm
- 22:07Speaker 1: fairly that you were obviously on the beach this season. Um,
- 22:10Speaker 1: so you were there. You've got to see the behind
- 22:12Speaker 1: the scenes. You've got to meet these people in person. Uh,
- 22:16Speaker 1: typically am now just a viewer commentator, opinion better of
- 22:22Speaker 1: my own uh here on this podcast, But with Genevieve
- 22:25Speaker 1: in Vegas, I got to sit down with her and
- 22:27Speaker 1: ask her, like, hey, was that thing with sene real?
- 22:30Speaker 1: He says, very much, so, it very hurt. It hurt her. M.
- 22:32Speaker 1: She was upset about it. Then she did tell me.
- 22:35Speaker 1: And we'll get into it with Genevieve here and just
- 22:37Speaker 1: a bit. But it was cool for me to hear
- 22:40Speaker 1: her and gene were able to talk on the beach,
- 22:43Speaker 1: reconcile and heal and both move forward. Right, A big deal.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And I think sometimes as viewers we just think this
- 22:50Speaker 1: is like fantasy land and fake and their actresses and actors,
- 22:53Speaker 1: and that none of this actually affects the real life
- 22:55Speaker 1: of these humans. But it really does. And here that
- 22:59Speaker 1: the beach once again gave that redemption story to something
- 23:04Speaker 1: um at some level. Right is. It's exciting and also
- 23:08Speaker 1: really cool. Right It's the I think ever since the
- 23:12Speaker 1: Thomas Jacob scenario, I said, this beach can be used
- 23:15Speaker 1: for a lot of good. Let it now they don't
- 23:18Speaker 1: always have to let it. They want to. Beach does
- 23:20Speaker 1: feel like that place that kind of wipes the slate
- 23:22Speaker 1: clean and helps everybody start over and say, hey, what
- 23:25Speaker 1: have I learned last time you saw me on a
- 23:28Speaker 1: dating show. Before we get Genevieve on, let's talk about
- 23:32Speaker 1: the one other huge storyline of this episode, and that
- 23:36Speaker 1: was Teddy and Andrew. So I come in and I
- 23:41Speaker 1: could just vibe Teddy was not super into Andrew. She
- 23:47Speaker 1: vocalized that she was oddly not as physically throwing herself
- 23:52Speaker 1: at him as she'd like. She was like, I came
- 23:56Speaker 1: in for him, um, and I think that we have
- 23:59Speaker 1: a good thing, but she didn't feel like an overwhelming
- 24:02Speaker 1: passion for him. And I don't know, like I guess
- 24:07Speaker 1: it was Rodney walking and it was all very weird.
- 24:10Speaker 1: It was. It was a little strange. So Rodney walks
- 24:14Speaker 1: in and apparently this gives Teddy a little flutter in
- 24:17Speaker 1: her heart, and that didn't make her feel good about
- 24:22Speaker 1: her relationship with Andrew. She's like, I shouldn't be feeling that.
- 24:25Speaker 1: She pulls Andrew aside and tells him I want I
- 24:31Speaker 1: wanted to just be with you here. You came for me,
- 24:34Speaker 1: I came for you, And as much as I'm feeling
- 24:39Speaker 1: like I like you, I'm not feeling like I really
- 24:43Speaker 1: like you. And she ends up feeling so bad about
- 24:48Speaker 1: her lack of passion that she decides to leave and
- 24:52Speaker 1: doesn't even tell anybody. It's it's strange, like, what did
- 25:00Speaker 1: you do? You find that strange to leave without one
- 25:03Speaker 1: saying goodbye? And then to leave just because the one
- 25:07Speaker 1: person that you expected to have a great romance with
- 25:11Speaker 1: didn't end up in a great romance. That's not how
- 25:14Speaker 1: paradise is traditionally supposed to work. If you go with
- 25:18Speaker 1: your eyes set on someone, you're like, oh, I'm excited
- 25:20Speaker 1: to see them, excited to get to know them. If
- 25:22Speaker 1: there see if there's anything there. But then when you
- 25:25Speaker 1: actually but if but like if in real life that
- 25:28Speaker 1: doesn't really hit well, then you have other options. It
- 25:32Speaker 1: just seems like I guess Teddy is just not comfortable
- 25:34Speaker 1: with the format of paradise, which is totally respectable. Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I don't. I mean I think I don't know. We'd
- 25:44Speaker 1: have to ask Teddy. I would assume she in her
- 25:47Speaker 1: mind thought this is gonna be controversial, This is going
- 25:51Speaker 1: to add some type of um drama, right, no matter
- 25:58Speaker 1: what if I go on another date with an their person, Um,
- 26:02Speaker 1: you know, this isn't working out the way I thought
- 26:03Speaker 1: I would. I came, you know, really hoping this worked
- 26:07Speaker 1: in it and um, and then she decided to leave.
- 26:11Speaker 1: So she obviously, I think what we can there is
- 26:13Speaker 1: like she's choosing be uh not involved in the drama
- 26:19Speaker 1: over her ability to maybe find somebody in Paradise. And
- 26:24Speaker 1: I have to respect it. That's not an easy decision
- 26:26Speaker 1: to make. You're so early on in this process. It's
- 26:29Speaker 1: probably fun. It's still exciting if you're single and you're
- 26:32Speaker 1: ready to mingle. The Paradise is an amazing place for it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: And she's saying, hey, uh, I need to go. This
- 26:40Speaker 1: obviously is not going to go out by the way
- 26:42Speaker 1: I thought it would. And as interested as I am
- 26:44Speaker 1: maybe in somebody else in the beach, uh, it's not
- 26:47Speaker 1: worth it for the pain it that would cause. Now
- 26:51Speaker 1: saying goodbye it would have been nice. I respect it.
- 26:55Speaker 1: She she definitely didn't want people to uh try to
- 26:59Speaker 1: argue with her to day. They didn't. She didn't want
- 27:01Speaker 1: the convincing. She don't want the convincing. I respect it.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I am saddened by it because I feel like, you know,
- 27:08Speaker 1: before the season started, we said Eddie, he's gonna be
- 27:11Speaker 1: sought after, He's gonna be somebody on the beach that
- 27:14Speaker 1: people love, people are very interested in She was obviously
- 27:18Speaker 1: talked about a lot, and we didn't get this year enough.
- 27:20Speaker 1: During Clayton season we saw her, you know, get the
- 27:22Speaker 1: first impression Roseen, and she kind of disappeared. I was
- 27:24Speaker 1: wanting to know more about Teddy. We're just gonna get it,
- 27:28Speaker 1: and that's a lost for us as viewers. Um, but
- 27:30Speaker 1: a respectful decision. I feel like on Teddy's part, I'm
- 27:33Speaker 1: not I'm not upset by Yeah, she probably just doesn't
- 27:36Speaker 1: like being on the show. You know, some of us
- 27:41Speaker 1: love it, and then some of us are just like,
- 27:44Speaker 1: you know what, it's not for me. It's probably not
- 27:46Speaker 1: for today. And that's totally cool. All right, let's get
- 27:51Speaker 1: I enjoy it. I'd love to be in Paradise. I
- 27:53Speaker 1: just my life never worked out that way. You had
- 27:56Speaker 1: to go to Winter Games instead. Okay, so let's take
- 28:01Speaker 1: a quick break and then we're gonna get Genevievan as promised.
- 28:14Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast, and we have on
- 28:17Speaker 1: this podcast the absolute guests every current season of the show,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and we have a podcast today. Genevieve I've talked about
- 28:27Speaker 1: from meeting in Las Vegas. I really enjoyed hanging out
- 28:30Speaker 1: with UM. I didn't get to hang out with everybody
- 28:33Speaker 1: enough because I heart kept me busy, which I didn't
- 28:36Speaker 1: enjoy it as well. But Genevieve, welcome to the Almost
- 28:38Speaker 1: Famous Podcast. Thank you Benn and Nashley. Thank you for
- 28:42Speaker 1: having me well, thank you for being here. We want
- 28:47Speaker 1: to talk to you about Genevieve. You we talked in
- 28:51Speaker 1: Vegas and you were like, I don't know how Paradise
- 28:53Speaker 1: is gonna be for me, and I said, I think
- 28:56Speaker 1: you're going to be a main character just from meeting you.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I think your storyline is going to be like a
- 29:01Speaker 1: Ruler coaster, and I believe everybody UM is going to
- 29:05Speaker 1: enjoy watching you on tone and so far, my first
- 29:09Speaker 1: question for you is are you having an okay time
- 29:12Speaker 1: watching yourself on television or is this as brutal as
- 29:16Speaker 1: you were nervous about. No, I think you've got me
- 29:19Speaker 1: at my worst right before it aired, so I was like, really,
- 29:23Speaker 1: just it is? It is okay. I do think it's
- 29:26Speaker 1: funny to watch myself because I'm just kind of like
- 29:29Speaker 1: all over the place and it's just funny, UM, But
- 29:32Speaker 1: I mean seeing myself be very emotional, it's not fun
- 29:36Speaker 1: to watch and like just seeing how I how my
- 29:41Speaker 1: reactions played out. Um, it's not great to watch back,
- 29:44Speaker 1: but I can learn from it. So people, you know,
- 29:48Speaker 1: gave me the same flak for like being so invested
- 29:52Speaker 1: in Jared's so fast and that's sort of what we
- 29:55Speaker 1: see with you and Justin And it's really easy to
- 29:58Speaker 1: be a viewer and to be like, oh my god,
- 30:01Speaker 1: why does she think that they're a real thing after
- 30:03Speaker 1: one day? For some reason, Bachelor in Paradise rules are
- 30:08Speaker 1: feelings are so much different than in the real world.
- 30:13Speaker 1: So did you I don't even I don't really know
- 30:18Speaker 1: what question I have from that statement, except for like
- 30:22Speaker 1: do you want to explain to people how it's different,
- 30:25Speaker 1: and like how intensely you're feeling after just one night
- 30:30Speaker 1: being on the beach. We are with the same people, Um,
- 30:34Speaker 1: you do everything with them. And if you're forming a
- 30:37Speaker 1: connection with someone, I mean that connection forms very quickly
- 30:41Speaker 1: when you are just constantly with them, getting to know them,
- 30:44Speaker 1: learning more about them, Um, seeing how they are in
- 30:46Speaker 1: a private setting, when you're on one on one, seeing
- 30:48Speaker 1: how they are around other people. So, um, one day
- 30:52Speaker 1: does not feel like a day in paradise. I have
- 30:54Speaker 1: to say it feels a lot longer, and um, I
- 30:57Speaker 1: would say emotions can form very quickly. Now. The only
- 31:01Speaker 1: thing I have to say as far as like a
- 31:02Speaker 1: criticism with how you possibly dealt with things, is that
- 31:10Speaker 1: I think that you have every right to feel as
- 31:14Speaker 1: sad as you were when Justin went on the date.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But looking back, do you feel like he did all
- 31:23Speaker 1: the right things and you know, in preparation of going
- 31:27Speaker 1: on that date, like he did come up to you
- 31:29Speaker 1: and explain that he was going to do it. Um,
- 31:33Speaker 1: he's just I don't think he messed up at all.
- 31:36Speaker 1: But I think that while that that being said, you
- 31:39Speaker 1: still have every right to your feelings. But do you
- 31:42Speaker 1: think you did get to upset about him deciding to
- 31:47Speaker 1: go on a day on a different with another girl
- 31:49Speaker 1: just like day two? Um? Yeah, yes, definitely. I definitely
- 31:55Speaker 1: was too upset because I spent all my time I
- 31:58Speaker 1: was a d percent invest in Justin. Um, so I
- 32:00Speaker 1: was very upset and I yeah, I definitely was in
- 32:03Speaker 1: my head. I was too upset and too emotional about it. No,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I think you could be upset for sure, but like
- 32:09Speaker 1: mad at him, I wasn't. I wasn't angry at him
- 32:13Speaker 1: until the conversation after when he got back, because get
- 32:18Speaker 1: me be silly things. But he didn't talk to me
- 32:21Speaker 1: for about an hour. He's talking to the guys. He
- 32:22Speaker 1: went to shower, and like, I just wanted an answer.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I was waiting all day for him, and so I
- 32:27Speaker 1: wanted him to come talk to me right away and
- 32:28Speaker 1: just give me an answer. Um. And then our conversation
- 32:31Speaker 1: also I was looking for I had a connection. I
- 32:35Speaker 1: feel stronger connection with her. I feel stronger connection with you,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and he didn't give me. He gave me absolutely thing.
- 32:42Speaker 1: He didn't really even tell me he was still interested,
- 32:46Speaker 1: like really interested in me, so well he said he
- 32:50Speaker 1: was during the day. I was not. I was so
- 32:54Speaker 1: sad during the day, so sad during the day. But
- 32:56Speaker 1: then after our conversation when he got back, I did
- 32:59Speaker 1: get agree because I felt he should have come talked
- 33:02Speaker 1: to me right away. And again I shouldn't agree with that,
- 33:05Speaker 1: he has the right to talk to his friends first
- 33:07Speaker 1: and everything, but I was upset all day waiting on that,
- 33:10Speaker 1: so I think I just wanted to talk to him.
- 33:13Speaker 1: But in the anger, he did say that he was confused.
- 33:16Speaker 1: So when he said that, like he I thought he
- 33:19Speaker 1: was alluding to being kind of torn between you guys,
- 33:22Speaker 1: and then you said, I either want him to be
- 33:25Speaker 1: totally in on me or totally in on her and
- 33:29Speaker 1: let me be Do you regret Okay, yeah, I was
- 33:36Speaker 1: gonna say that is one of the one of the
- 33:39Speaker 1: few things that I actually do like regret saying, because
- 33:44Speaker 1: that's not how it is, like you do. Sorry, sorry,
- 33:46Speaker 1: you do have to you have to explore, you have
- 33:49Speaker 1: to you have to get to know both people. I mean,
- 33:52Speaker 1: and I was saying you have to know after one day,
- 33:55Speaker 1: but you don't. You really don't have to know after
- 33:57Speaker 1: one day, and like, looking back, I'm seeing that. So
- 34:00Speaker 1: that was definitely exactly Jared loves you, you know that.
- 34:04Speaker 1: And he was talking yesterday on this podcast and he
- 34:08Speaker 1: was like, he knew you for twenty four hours and
- 34:11Speaker 1: he knew her for six hours. It's like, I think
- 34:14Speaker 1: that he has the right to be confused and unsure
- 34:16Speaker 1: which direction to go into at this point. But I
- 34:19Speaker 1: just want to also reiterate, when you're there and all
- 34:24Speaker 1: this is happening to you, you can't help how you respond.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Sometimes well, of course help how you respond, but like
- 34:33Speaker 1: you're just living your life and the camera happens to
- 34:35Speaker 1: be there and we all make some that's the thing.
- 34:38Speaker 1: You forget that there's yeah, yeah, you forget the cameras
- 34:43Speaker 1: are and that that matters. But like you're just for
- 34:46Speaker 1: raw emotion and it's all being filmed. Um. But no,
- 34:50Speaker 1: when I said he has to either choose one, I mean,
- 34:53Speaker 1: that was so silly. I think I just I don't
- 34:55Speaker 1: know what was going on in my head. I was
- 34:57Speaker 1: so upset. I really was just so upset. Um, and
- 35:01Speaker 1: I was I don't know, but I to regret saying that.
- 35:05Speaker 1: And I don't think that someone should be able to
- 35:08Speaker 1: come back from a date and just make a decision
- 35:10Speaker 1: right away. I don't take it that easy. Now, let
- 35:13Speaker 1: me ask you both, because the thing that I you know, Genevieve,
- 35:16Speaker 1: I don't know you as well as I know Ashley.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Obviously I get the sense that you both. Um. Ashley
- 35:23Speaker 1: was mad at me as her work husband, UM, as
- 35:27Speaker 1: somebody who you know gets to talk to her a
- 35:29Speaker 1: couple of times a week. She would tell me, like,
- 35:32Speaker 1: very quickly, I have no concern about actually hiding it,
- 35:36Speaker 1: pressing it, pushing it down. If I hurt Ashley. She
- 35:40Speaker 1: would tell me, I have a feeling you're very similar right,
- 35:43Speaker 1: you are authentic and transparent, and even if your reactions
- 35:47Speaker 1: are not things that you are going to look and
- 35:50Speaker 1: be like, yeah, I handled that perfectly. I'm at least
- 35:52Speaker 1: gonna know where you're at, Like, I'm at least gonna
- 35:54Speaker 1: know what you both are feeling at that gift time.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And so to help this makes sense for anybody out
- 36:00Speaker 1: there listening in for myself who has never been to
- 36:02Speaker 1: the beach when this scenario happened. You're eating somebody, you're
- 36:06Speaker 1: into somebody, you're starting to, you know, have very strong
- 36:09Speaker 1: feelings for these people, and they go on another day
- 36:12Speaker 1: and then they come back. What's the closest real world
- 36:16Speaker 1: feeling that you could relate it to. I'm gonna throw
- 36:18Speaker 1: out some ideas, Right, do you feel like you're being
- 36:20Speaker 1: cheated on? Do you feel like you're being broken up with?
- 36:23Speaker 1: You feel like you're being um trade? Do you feel
- 36:26Speaker 1: like you've been strung along? What the closest kind of
- 36:31Speaker 1: real world relationiship things that you could I, you know,
- 36:37Speaker 1: own this in and say that's what I was feeling
- 36:39Speaker 1: at that. You feel like you're about to be broken
- 36:41Speaker 1: up with, I would say you're about Yeah, you're about
- 36:47Speaker 1: to be broken up if they found someone, and yeah, yeah,
- 36:52Speaker 1: it's that feeling of like, Okay, it's not completely over,
- 36:56Speaker 1: but I know the end is so near, and like
- 36:57Speaker 1: the anxieties is rushing through me. Feel like, for me,
- 37:02Speaker 1: tell me if I'm wrong. But if I'm sitting there
- 37:04Speaker 1: and somebody did this to me, I would start to compare,
- 37:07Speaker 1: and I would start to get really on myself. Um
- 37:11Speaker 1: just you know, wait, what why wasn't I good enough?
- 37:13Speaker 1: What do I what do I not have? What am
- 37:15Speaker 1: I missing? You know? What's wrong with me? YouTube that
- 37:19Speaker 1: same thing kind of go through your head. I mean
- 37:22Speaker 1: that's exactly what I was going through my head. Um. Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Like and also like the fact I had the first
- 37:31Speaker 1: I was the first one that had to kind of
- 37:32Speaker 1: be the one sitting back while the person I was
- 37:35Speaker 1: interested in it on a date. Um uh yeah, no,
- 37:39Speaker 1: it was definitely very hard to her is beautiful, she's amazing. Um.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I love her, and so it's of course it's hard
- 37:47Speaker 1: to not compare and be like, well, she's beautiful, she's funny,
- 37:51Speaker 1: she's awesome. I'm sure they're going to have a better connection.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And then you just start getting even more in your head. Um,
- 37:56Speaker 1: and yeah, it doesn't help at all. There's something about
- 37:58Speaker 1: Paradise which is different from the main show, which you
- 38:03Speaker 1: just feel the comparison way more strongly. Like on the
- 38:08Speaker 1: main show, of course, you can kind of like you'll
- 38:11Speaker 1: be like, oh, she has that, she has that, or
- 38:13Speaker 1: he likes her because of this. Well, there's something about
- 38:16Speaker 1: Paradise where you feel like more of a direct competition
- 38:20Speaker 1: with the person that your love interest is going on
- 38:22Speaker 1: a day with. Okay, well, we've gotta like jump ahead.
- 38:26Speaker 1: He ends up giving you the rose that day over Victoria.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Do you think that was because Victoria was showing interest
- 38:36Speaker 1: in Johnny or do you think that Justin really wanted
- 38:38Speaker 1: to give you guys another chance. I think that it
- 38:41Speaker 1: was because, um, Johnny was going to give his rose
- 38:46Speaker 1: to Victoria, and Victoria was into Johnny, and I think
- 38:49Speaker 1: he could sense it. M Okay. So then the next day,
- 38:53Speaker 1: you guys have a sit down a little bit before
- 38:56Speaker 1: the guys come in James and Aaron, and you're like,
- 39:01Speaker 1: Aaron's probably not into me. I've met him twice before.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I wouldn't worry about him taking me out on a date.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And we let's address the drama that you guys had
- 39:12Speaker 1: as this circle with Jane and Aaron and you on
- 39:17Speaker 1: TV sitting next to you on a couch. En accused
- 39:21Speaker 1: you of having like slept with Aaron already, which is craziness.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Where did that rumor originate from? And how did she
- 39:31Speaker 1: have the balls to say that. I don't know how
- 39:35Speaker 1: she had the balls to say that, Um, but the
- 39:38Speaker 1: rumor I had met Aaron at a bar and I
- 39:41Speaker 1: had posted a picture, Um, I think on my story
- 39:44Speaker 1: and so I guess that's where she got that from.
- 39:48Speaker 1: But and then like come up with you see a
- 39:50Speaker 1: picture and imagine and then like from a picture context,
- 39:55Speaker 1: that's insane. Actually she does. We talked about it on
- 39:59Speaker 1: the show. So she does say like she doesn't know
- 40:02Speaker 1: where that came from. She just I mean, yeah, but um,
- 40:08Speaker 1: it definitely is not true. Um. We both have addressed that.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And then I did sit next to him after the
- 40:13Speaker 1: final rose and seating those seating is assigned. We did
- 40:18Speaker 1: not pick those ourselves, um, And that was it. So
- 40:22Speaker 1: I met him twice, very platonic, and there's never anything.
- 40:27Speaker 1: And I did say, like it's not that there couldn't
- 40:30Speaker 1: be anything. I do think he's handsome and he's nice,
- 40:32Speaker 1: but there just wasn't there yet at least, so okay,
- 40:38Speaker 1: So when Aaron does ask you out, how did you
- 40:43Speaker 1: feel about broaching this with Justin? Did you end up
- 40:47Speaker 1: going over to Justin and talking to him and being like, hey, like,
- 40:50Speaker 1: how do you feel about me going out with Aaron?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Or did you feel like you didn't have to do
- 40:54Speaker 1: it at that point? Oh, I did talk to I
- 40:57Speaker 1: of course talked to Justin out it. Um, that's the
- 41:02Speaker 1: first Like, right after I talked to Aaron, I talked
- 41:05Speaker 1: to Justin. Um, I don't think that that him going
- 41:10Speaker 1: on a date would excuse but like would make it
- 41:12Speaker 1: okay for me just not have a conversation with him. Um,
- 41:15Speaker 1: I asked him, it'll be okay, he said, I mean,
- 41:18Speaker 1: he said, like, yeah, go, I personally didn't think I
- 41:21Speaker 1: was going on a date. I know when we didn't
- 41:23Speaker 1: see this right when Aaron No, yep, when Aaron walked down,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I said to Justin, we saw this, I said, I promised,
- 41:32Speaker 1: I don't think it's gonna be me. But when he sorry,
- 41:35Speaker 1: but we didn't see the second conversation. Okay, yeah, sorry,
- 41:39Speaker 1: so we didn't see this conversation. But of course I
- 41:41Speaker 1: talked to him. I mean like I would have never
- 41:43Speaker 1: just left and said I'll probably be thinking about you.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't have. I absolutely had a conversation with him
- 41:48Speaker 1: and asked him how he would feel. He said he
- 41:51Speaker 1: would suck obviously, but go so ye her least is messy. Uh.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Let's uh, let's I want to pause here. And I
- 42:10Speaker 1: always love listening to actually talking people about paradise because
- 42:15Speaker 1: he just has a great perspective on and work for it.
- 42:17Speaker 1: But um, do you going in and just to pause
- 42:20Speaker 1: obviously here? Do you feel like it could be this messy?
- 42:24Speaker 1: Do you realize how hard it was going to be
- 42:27Speaker 1: to make the right decisions and to um find love
- 42:32Speaker 1: interests and to pursue people? Well, why other people are
- 42:35Speaker 1: coming to the beat? Or did this become a lot
- 42:38Speaker 1: more than you expected very quickly? You said it perfectly.
- 42:43Speaker 1: It was a lot more than I expected very quickly.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I went there. I just had such high hopes I
- 42:49Speaker 1: was going to leave engaged, honestly, um, and I went
- 42:52Speaker 1: through such a positive mind. Um. And then once you
- 42:56Speaker 1: spend all your time with someone, it affects It really
- 43:00Speaker 1: does affect you when they get taken away to go
- 43:02Speaker 1: on a date with someone else for a whole day imparatives,
- 43:04Speaker 1: The whole day is a lot of time. Yeah, so
- 43:09Speaker 1: it it's a lot more than I expected. I thought
- 43:12Speaker 1: I would be able to kind of go through handle
- 43:13Speaker 1: my emotions better. I thought I would be able to
- 43:15Speaker 1: to control them much better. But I saw I really wasn't.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I guess I just acted how I was feeling in
- 43:23Speaker 1: the moment, and I know it was all genuine how
- 43:25Speaker 1: I was acting. Um, but it doesn't excuse it. But yeah,
- 43:28Speaker 1: it definitely it's harder than I imagined or than it
- 43:32Speaker 1: even looks. I always say it's like emotional boot camp.
- 43:35Speaker 1: There people people you know. Of course, we sit down
- 43:38Speaker 1: on the on the couch and we criticize and we
- 43:41Speaker 1: go how do they feel like this? So fast? We
- 43:43Speaker 1: make fun of everyone, you know, as a as a viewer,
- 43:46Speaker 1: Like I know how easy it is to do that,
- 43:48Speaker 1: and it's funny. Sometimes I'll watch the show with my
- 43:50Speaker 1: mom and she'll be like criticizing and critiquing people in
- 43:53Speaker 1: situations that, um, whether I know the contestants or not,
- 43:59Speaker 1: and I get so defensive, like Mom, like I was here,
- 44:04Speaker 1: Like you can't say that, Like I know exactly what's
- 44:06Speaker 1: actually going on here, and um, I think that as
- 44:11Speaker 1: hard as it is, you do have to like give
- 44:14Speaker 1: the cast even more grace when they're in Paradise because
- 44:18Speaker 1: it's a situation that you can't even fathom. Like I
- 44:21Speaker 1: almost feel like the viewer can fathom a little bit
- 44:24Speaker 1: would it would be like to be on the Bachelor.
- 44:25Speaker 1: It's definitely an experience that translates a little bit more
- 44:29Speaker 1: through TV. Paradise is so much more emotional than anything
- 44:34Speaker 1: I could ever imagine going through. When I went there,
- 44:40Speaker 1: I remember saying to the producers, you guys are gonna
- 44:44Speaker 1: have to like force me to like someone. I'm not
- 44:45Speaker 1: gonna like someone. And it's like, just it's hilarious. It's
- 44:51Speaker 1: it's funny how much you feel there, And it was
- 44:54Speaker 1: fun being there with you guys because we got to
- 44:58Speaker 1: see you guys go through it all that we went
- 45:02Speaker 1: through and then not have to do it right because
- 45:06Speaker 1: you yeah, you guys are you're happy. Yeah, yeah, but
- 45:11Speaker 1: I know all the turmoil you guys are going through,
- 45:13Speaker 1: And I just kind of want everybody out there watching
- 45:16Speaker 1: to be like, it's easy to judge, but if you
- 45:20Speaker 1: were in this situation, you'd be just as ridiculous as
- 45:24Speaker 1: everyone there. It's a long. It's their long days and
- 45:28Speaker 1: nights for long, long hard. Yeah, it's hard to yeah,
- 45:34Speaker 1: be all there, I guess. Yeah. So you end up
- 45:36Speaker 1: going on the day with Aaron and it goes really well.
- 45:39Speaker 1: From of yours point of view, I see more chemistry
- 45:43Speaker 1: that you have with him than Justin. Justin at this
- 45:46Speaker 1: point just seems like I feel like that relationship you
- 45:50Speaker 1: got you guys kind of gotta cut off. There's just
- 45:53Speaker 1: like a lot of hostility there, law of defensiveness. When
- 45:57Speaker 1: you were on that date with Aaron, were you thinking,
- 46:01Speaker 1: did you have a clear cut feeling on who you're
- 46:03Speaker 1: choosing or was there still like a lingering I like
- 46:07Speaker 1: Justin back at home feeling. No. See, that's the thing.
- 46:10Speaker 1: So I before going on the date, I thought I
- 46:13Speaker 1: was going to go on the date and just want
- 46:15Speaker 1: to go back to Justin. I thought I was gonna
- 46:18Speaker 1: have a fun time, but not be like romantically interested
- 46:21Speaker 1: in Erin. Then after the date, I was like so
- 46:25Speaker 1: surprised at how well it went, and I just saw
- 46:27Speaker 1: a side of him, like I just obviously I don't
- 46:30Speaker 1: know him, um, and I just saw the side of
- 46:32Speaker 1: him and I actually my decision was Eron, like on
- 46:37Speaker 1: my way back. My decision was Erin and um, you
- 46:40Speaker 1: don't see it yet, but yeah, um, I know that
- 46:45Speaker 1: Justin and I are very not good together obviously, and
- 46:48Speaker 1: I think he knows that too. I do think, um,
- 46:53Speaker 1: he gave me a rose. I don't know, to see
- 46:55Speaker 1: if there was potential, and of course both of us
- 46:57Speaker 1: cared about each other and all that, but um, after
- 47:02Speaker 1: my date with Aaron, it made it clear to me
- 47:05Speaker 1: that Aaron was what I wanted. Did you feel guilt
- 47:09Speaker 1: about that, knowing that he had given your rose, that
- 47:12Speaker 1: I've given you a rose the night before and you're
- 47:14Speaker 1: over it or you're just like that's the day of
- 47:17Speaker 1: the game. No, I did. I did feel bad, But
- 47:20Speaker 1: at the same time, I do know Justin wanted to
- 47:24Speaker 1: give his rose to Victoria. So I don't think if
- 47:27Speaker 1: things went the way they did with Victoria and Johnny,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I think I just said someone's name on. I don't
- 47:33Speaker 1: think if things went as well as they did with
- 47:35Speaker 1: Victorian Johnny, Justin um would have given me a rose.
- 47:39Speaker 1: So um, I do. Of course, it sucks to have
- 47:42Speaker 1: someone keep you around and then give like being more
- 47:47Speaker 1: interested in someone else, But at that point I was
- 47:50Speaker 1: just following my heart, and um, that's just all I
- 47:54Speaker 1: could do. And I mean, you don't want to be
- 47:58Speaker 1: a consolation prize, like that's not are you gonna get
- 48:00Speaker 1: engage exactly? Somebody's second choice, right, And then we have
- 48:04Speaker 1: that we had the roses the second week, so then
- 48:06Speaker 1: after rose ceremony, we wake up and then it's kind
- 48:08Speaker 1: of all we were like almost pretending it is back
- 48:11Speaker 1: to normally, even though I don't know if we could
- 48:13Speaker 1: have come back from that. Yeah, a great timing, though, Huh,
- 48:18Speaker 1: how crazy is it that Aaron and James show up
- 48:20Speaker 1: to the beach to day after your dramatic rose ceremony
- 48:24Speaker 1: and dramatic day. I know that back day I thought
- 48:28Speaker 1: I was going I mean I truly thought I was
- 48:30Speaker 1: going home. Um, and then yet the following day I
- 48:34Speaker 1: found someone I was very interested in. So to talk
- 48:37Speaker 1: about a couple of relationships that don't involve you, what
- 48:42Speaker 1: do you think about Teddy leaving without saying goodbye to
- 48:45Speaker 1: you guys? Um, I it's crazy because I tried to
- 48:50Speaker 1: do like I honestly tried to do the same thing
- 48:53Speaker 1: I tried to. I don't think I would have gone
- 48:55Speaker 1: through it, but I was like, I want out and
- 48:57Speaker 1: I can't even I can't bring myself to go say
- 49:00Speaker 1: goodbye because you know you're going to be convinced to
- 49:02Speaker 1: say yeah so um and like you know it'll hurt.
- 49:07Speaker 1: So I mean it is. I think it would have
- 49:11Speaker 1: been nice for her to just go and just say
- 49:13Speaker 1: a goodbye, just say like and not even talk about anything,
- 49:16Speaker 1: just say goodbye. Um. She didn't had to explain herself
- 49:20Speaker 1: because that's hard, and she doesn't have to explain herself
- 49:22Speaker 1: either way, but um, it's that that's tough. I think
- 49:27Speaker 1: I think a goodbye would have been nice. But I
- 49:29Speaker 1: do understand that like she was just feeling all the
- 49:33Speaker 1: emotions and she just wanted out. What do you feel
- 49:37Speaker 1: about her just not giving anybody a chance and it
- 49:39Speaker 1: being like Andrew or Bust. I don't think, Yeah, I
- 49:43Speaker 1: think I think that has to do more of it.
- 49:45Speaker 1: She didn't like the setting and like she was in
- 49:50Speaker 1: because I don't think you would just leave if it
- 49:52Speaker 1: didn't work out with with one person. I do feel
- 49:55Speaker 1: like it was because she just it was a lot
- 49:57Speaker 1: to deal with, like all of us, like we know,
- 50:00Speaker 1: and she just didn't want to deal with it. And
- 50:02Speaker 1: if it didn't work with Andrews she just didn't want
- 50:04Speaker 1: to continue and lead anyone on if she couldn't really
- 50:07Speaker 1: handle it. Yeah, it makes sense. Well, Genevieve, we're gonna
- 50:10Speaker 1: let you go here. Um you We've got some great
- 50:14Speaker 1: time with you, but we we really I want to
- 50:18Speaker 1: see you shine and thrive again. You were so much
- 50:24Speaker 1: fun at by Her Music Festival and we appreciate that
- 50:27Speaker 1: you made. You made that trip really enjoyable. That was
- 50:31Speaker 1: the fun trip. So thank you. Oh I just thought
- 50:33Speaker 1: of a question, well, wrapping up, I thought of a question,
- 50:37Speaker 1: how did you and Cheney get over that hump? Okay,
- 50:47Speaker 1: we had a conversation on the couch, um, and she
- 50:51Speaker 1: apologized to me. She said, she is honestly various. We
- 50:56Speaker 1: were both carrying up like this was a genuine, honest
- 50:59Speaker 1: like I truly felt it was a genuine apology from
- 51:02Speaker 1: and that's all I wanted. Um. And so she apologized
- 51:05Speaker 1: for kind of making that up. She said she wasn't
- 51:07Speaker 1: going to let me win on Clayton's season, so that's
- 51:10Speaker 1: why she pulled the actress thing. And then, um, she
- 51:13Speaker 1: just made something up on the couch because Darren thing. Yeah,
- 51:17Speaker 1: oh no, she fully she fully admitted it. And I
- 51:19Speaker 1: know I know you said that earlier, but it's funny
- 51:21Speaker 1: to hear her being like, I just pulled it out
- 51:23Speaker 1: of my ass. Yeah, I was like, Shoday, what do
- 51:27Speaker 1: we see that in a your episode? Or is that
- 51:30Speaker 1: gone now? I don't know if they're going to show it.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that was the day I was in
- 51:35Speaker 1: the yellow bathing suits. So that was like the second
- 51:36Speaker 1: day we had a good thing for us to see.
- 51:40Speaker 1: I'm not and I apologized for because I said, at
- 51:43Speaker 1: the woman tell all, I said, it looked like I
- 51:45Speaker 1: had a diaper because of like something under her dress.
- 51:48Speaker 1: I apologized, like she told me that upsettera and I
- 51:51Speaker 1: truly apologized for it. And so we just got through
- 51:54Speaker 1: everything that, like all of our issues, and and then
- 51:58Speaker 1: we we hugged and we're like crying, why we don't
- 52:01Speaker 1: watch this stuff? This is this stuff I want to
- 52:03Speaker 1: see redemption, like come on now to I feel bad
- 52:07Speaker 1: because she is not like she has been great, and
- 52:10Speaker 1: it's not showing that she's really is different at this
- 52:12Speaker 1: time around. So it's implied, which is weird. It's implied
- 52:17Speaker 1: because everybody's begetting along with her. But yeah, there's definitely
- 52:20Speaker 1: a gap in that storyline. Oh, we're getting word that
- 52:24Speaker 1: says we show this conversation at it so it is
- 52:28Speaker 1: to come, it is to come. Okay, excited about a team. Hey,
- 52:31Speaker 1: it's it's a great it's a great story. Genevieve, shine shines.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Well again, we wish you the best. You're awesome. People
- 52:40Speaker 1: need to know Naviv Hey, Jena and Nevive, they shine
- 52:48Speaker 1: during this conversation. Genevieve, you are the best. We wish
- 52:50Speaker 1: you the best. Um, you're great only to know it,
- 52:53Speaker 1: and you're great television, And I mean that like I'm
- 53:00Speaker 1: you're on our screen. You keep things fun. So hey,
- 53:03Speaker 1: thanks for joining us, Thank you, Thank you so much.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Fight well everybody. This is a great episode. The conversation
- 53:12Speaker 1: with Genevieve, I thought was really fun for me to
- 53:15Speaker 1: listen to and also be a part of. It brings
- 53:18Speaker 1: to light a lot of the things happening in Paradise. Ashley.
- 53:22Speaker 1: I'm happy that I got to speak with you today
- 53:25Speaker 1: about this episode because Paradise continues. I think, I'll say

- 53:35Speaker 1: and I enjoy it, and I hope it continues throughout
- 53:38Speaker 1: the rest of the season. I am too. But until
- 53:40Speaker 1: Next time I've been Ashley and I've Been Been. Follow
