- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Moral Marriage Podcast, guys.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And we've just got a special one for you today.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Um we have been everyone is special.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, but a lot of times I think that we we underrate the spiritual warfare that's going on, the attacks on marriage right now.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I think that some of you don't know God.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: I was you, I was raised atheist.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: I think some of you have left God or left God behind.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Um I think uh that's a that's a huge amount of people that watch and listen.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I just spoke to another man uh just a moment ago who's actively trying to find faith in recovery from alcohol and so on and so forth.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And then I think there's the Christians um who I wrote about, wrote a new song called uh I'm a Good Christian.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: It's not out yet.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe by the time this episode's out, but like we're doing everything we're supposed to do.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, are we doing everything we're supposed to do?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And um, we have started today, will be day eight when we film this, not when it's published, but day eight of going live every single day.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, we have the people from our app morrow.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: You can go to uh app store and search morrow, it's in Google Play as well.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Uh you can just go to go.moralmarriage.com.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: That's the website, go.moralmarriage.com.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: You can get our app and you can join the live event, join on Zoom.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: If you could pray, if you could intercede, then we want to hear from you.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: If you want prayer, come on.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Um we're also going live on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Because somebody brought it to, I think brought it to your attention, correct?
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: That we should be praying more corporately.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: We should be we should be praying more as a business together.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that inspired something in me.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Uh, we heard a really great message on um being more diligent, and uh somebody prophesied over me and actually was was um talking about consistency, not consistency, so diligence.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Well, no, that was the message, the capacity, capacity, thank you, was the was the prophesy.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I and and the prophesy, prophecy, and I just man, I started to really think like how much uh am I doing to try to hear from God?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And I don't hear God in this war all the time, in fact, ever.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And I just know that we're doing God's work, but something I feel is happening just in seven days, today's day eight, but in seven days of praying online, I feel like people are receiving at the very least confirmation that they're moving in the right direction.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Um, some of the words, the specific lines, there's a line I repeated twice, Jesus died for us in that song, and or died for me, is what I said actually, selfishly as a narcissist.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: But anyway.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Um, it's true, he did die for you.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: But anyway, somebody, Ryan, um, confirmed it.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: He was like, he was just he just started talking about it, and I was like, dude, I'm talking about playing this song for you guys later, and then boom, here you are.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: There were a few other examples, but I don't want to bore you.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: My point is this I don't want to spend a lot of time on this.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: I want you to spend as much time listening to a short episode as possible on repeat about why I think that we need God in our lives and why God is helping us with our marriages.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Number one, even if you're like me and you don't believe in God, you can't go wrong living and loving like Jesus.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Pardon me?
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Even you're like, he was.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: You do believe in God.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Now I do believe in God, but like I know beyond a shadow of doubt God is real.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: I just have trouble hearing from and I get frustrated.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: That's another story.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: My point is this when I started going to church with Catherine, you can learn every single time.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: The very first message I ever heard in church as an adult was about anger and what it does to you and how it hurts you.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And I mean, you can't learn from that.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Anybody here feel like they get angry too often?
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Not me anymore.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: I don't put my hand back down, but you keep your hand up.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So, like, the very first thing is whether you believe in God or not, just like all these men that came to my program were like, is this based on the Bible?
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Well, I was raised atheist, so no.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: But what I've learned, we put scripture to it, we understand that that uh, and you don't you don't have to go through the scripture version yet, but the bottom line is it's learning to be someone who can love and not be so judgmental, who can focus on the way that we want to be treated and actually act in that instead of victimizing ourselves.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: And so whether again you believe in God or not, like how how bad could that be if you just didn't take things personal and get fucking angry and aggressive at your spouse or your children or the guy who cuts you off?
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Like, is that actually a bad thing?
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: So whether you believe in God or not, like, don't you think you could learn something?
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Two, if you do believe in God, like God first, then marriage.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: We all hear it if you go to church, but I think that we forget sometimes because enter state one, where you take it all personal, where it's all about you, and you forget.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Three, if you actually understand God first and you actually live in that, you don't hurt your partner.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: You just don't.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Are we perfect?
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: No.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: But you have a better shot at being a consistent example.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: How many of you think I don't believe my partner's changes are real?
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Or my partner thinks these changes aren't gonna last.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Being consistent beats that every single time.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Not a lecture, not a speech.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Actually, you filmed something on that recently.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: You're like, she doesn't want to hear about it, she wants to experience it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: If you are acting in a way that sets the example, then that's how people learn to trust.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: So I just want to give you guys some practical steps.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Go to our app, that's Morrow, the Morrow app, and join us on Zoom.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Actually ask for prayer.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: But don't ask for prayer just for your marriage.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Think about every person in your situation.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Because believe it or not, you're not alone.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: If somebody's asking about, I you know my situation, and I want my wife, blah, blah, blah.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Shut the fuck up.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: If you are that selfish, that's why your marriage isn't working.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Ask God to not be so selfish and realize that whatever you're going through is what somebody else is going through.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: And if we all pray against that, then that problem can happen.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Let me give you an example.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: My wife is having an affair, not my wife, but yours.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: Let's say, like, that's what you're feeling.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Can you pray for my wife to change your heart, her core values, to not be so negative, to not be running from the Yeah, but what if we prayed for everybody in that situation?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Don't you think that maybe we get a lot further than your specific selfish situation?
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: That's a difference, guys.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: That's the difference.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: So I want you to just understand that join our app, get in in prayer.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: Also, we go live.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Don't be a stranger.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: If you want to just listen, then just listen.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Receive.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Receive.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: But if you can't look around and see that the whole world is going to shit, not just your marriage, then you're probably gonna fail.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Call a lawyer.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Or start focusing on the problems that we're all facing, and let's get the higher power down to give us a hand.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: You have anything you want to add?
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: That's new covenant thinking.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: This is short but sweet and to the point.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Play it over and over again.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: See you next time.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Bye.
