The Long Road Towards Transparency In Palm Beach · The Epstein Chronicles

Speaker 1: Well, folks, it looks like the judge who is overseeing
• 0:06
Speaker 1: the transcripts from 2006 from the grand jury. Well, it
• 0:11
Speaker 1: looks like this judge in Florida is going to release
• 0:15
Speaker 1: these transcripts. Now, this is a big deal. This is
• 0:18
Speaker 1: a huge deal. In fact, this is going to add
• 0:21
Speaker 1: what I love the most. Some more context, right? Or
• 0:25
Speaker 1: as I say, some more meat to the bone. It's
• 0:28
Speaker 1: about time. Now, it's only about 15 years late, but,
• 0:32
Speaker 1: you know, here we are. When it comes to the
• 0:36
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein case, there is no amount of transparency that
• 0:41
Speaker 1: could be enough after everything that has went on, after
• 0:44
Speaker 1: everything that we know has went on, and after everything
• 0:48
Speaker 1: these fucking people got away with. How can we not
• 0:52
Speaker 1: be screaming from the rooftops about transparency? So whenever we
• 0:56
Speaker 1: have a judge step up to the plate, And move
• 0:59
Speaker 1: towards a more transparent position. I got to stand up
• 1:03
Speaker 1: and applaud. Because there is no reason that anything to
• 1:08
Speaker 1: do with Jeffrey Epstein's disgusting ass. Should be under seal.
• 1:14
Speaker 1: It should be exposed for the world to see. No
• 1:16
Speaker 1: matter how gross it is. No matter how disgusting it is.
• 1:22
Speaker 1: Because the people deserve to know the truth. And the
• 1:24
Speaker 1: survivors more importantly deserve justice. And for the past however long, decades, well,
• 1:38
Speaker 1: they've been denied that. So it is beyond time that
• 1:42
Speaker 1: we start moving to a more transparent position. With that said,
• 1:47
Speaker 1: let's take a look at this article from the Palm
• 1:50
Speaker 1: Beach Post and let's see what author Jane Musgrave has
• 1:54
Speaker 1: to say. Headline. Judge expects to release sex offender, pedophile,
• 2:00
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's 2006 grand jury transcript. The document is expected
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to shed light on why the financier, pedophile, wasn't punished
• 2:10
Speaker 1: more harshly after teens say he lured them to his
• 2:14
Speaker 1: mansion to have sex. Well, I can tell you why.
• 2:17
Speaker 1: Because he was friends with all of the people who
• 2:19
Speaker 1: were in charge. When you got a picture of Bill
• 2:22
Speaker 1: Clinton in a dress and pumps on your wall... pretty
• 2:25
Speaker 1: safe to assume that you're connected on high. So that's
• 2:30
Speaker 1: why nothing happened to him. And that's why he scored
• 2:34
Speaker 1: this sweetheart deal. What I hope this does, I hope
• 2:36
Speaker 1: it exposes everybody who was involved. And everybody who was involved,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: I hope that there's repercussions for them. Will there be?
• 2:44
Speaker 1: Probably not. Should there be? 100%. A Palm Beach County
• 2:51
Speaker 1: judge Friday signaled he would release secret grand jury records
• 2:55
Speaker 1: that could explain why serial molester Jeffrey Epstein didn't face
• 2:59
Speaker 1: serious charges for sexually assaulting dozens of teens at his
• 3:03
Speaker 1: Palm Beach mansion more than a decade ago. I'm probably
• 3:07
Speaker 1: going to release the records, Circuit Judge Donald Hatfield told,
• 3:11
Speaker 1: said after listening to the Palm Beach Post's arguments about
• 3:14
Speaker 1: why the transcripts of a 2006 grand jury hearing should
• 3:18
Speaker 1: be made public. Hafeel didn't make a final decision. He
• 3:21
Speaker 1: said he would summon attorneys back to court when he
• 3:24
Speaker 1: has his mind made up. So it's looking like he's
• 3:27
Speaker 1: going to release this shit. And if he does, boy,
• 3:29
Speaker 1: it's going to be explosive. I don't think people understand
• 3:32
Speaker 1: who haven't been following this case, how important this is,
• 3:37
Speaker 1: how crucial this information is, because what it's going to
• 3:40
Speaker 1: prove is that this profile that we've been building of
• 3:43
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, of him being this so-called elite member of society.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: All of that gets built on this because normal people
• 3:53
Speaker 1: don't catch these deals. Who was pulling the strings from
• 3:57
Speaker 1: on high? My guess is it was Mukasey. But he
• 4:03
Speaker 1: said there are a few reasons to keep the record secret.
• 4:06
Speaker 1: The politically connected money manager is dead. Pedophile. In August 2019,
• 4:11
Speaker 1: at age 66, he hung himself in a Manhattan jail cell, allegedly,
• 4:16
Speaker 1: and while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges that could
• 4:19
Speaker 1: have sent him to prison for 45 years. Imagine 45 years.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: It enrages me to hear that. Only 45 years, huh?
• 4:26
Speaker 1: Put a few zeros on the end of that. How
• 4:28
Speaker 1: about 4,500 years? This sick fucking guy and all of
• 4:32
Speaker 1: his sick fucking friends. I have had a belly full
• 4:36
Speaker 1: of these people, folks. I have had a belly full.
• 4:41
Speaker 1: and their smug, stupid attitudes, the dumb smirks on their
• 4:45
Speaker 1: faces in every picture, and the way they continue to
• 4:49
Speaker 1: treat us as chattel. I have had enough. So I'm
• 4:53
Speaker 1: over here waiting for everybody else who is carrying the
• 4:56
Speaker 1: pitchforks and the torches right now over all of the
• 4:58
Speaker 1: other manufactured bullshit to come to their senses and join me.
• 5:04
Speaker 1: Your enemies aren't your friends on the internet. Your enemies
• 5:07
Speaker 1: aren't your relatives who voted differently than you. These are
• 5:10
Speaker 1: your enemies, folks. Wake up! Since then, dozens of his
• 5:14
Speaker 1: survivors have publicly talked about the abuse he inflicted upon
• 5:18
Speaker 1: them at his mansion in Palm Beach, his ranch in
• 5:21
Speaker 1: New Mexico, his New York penthouse apartment, and his private
• 5:24
Speaker 1: island in the Virgin Islands. Meanwhile, never an investigation in
• 5:29
Speaker 1: New Mexico. Not a state investigation. Nothing. Nobody ever kicked
• 5:33
Speaker 1: in any doors in New Mexico. I bet you drug
• 5:36
Speaker 1: dealers are getting their doors kicked in as we speak
• 5:38
Speaker 1: in New Mexico right now, though. But if you kidnap
• 5:41
Speaker 1: indigenous women, if you abuse women there, you traffic women,
• 5:45
Speaker 1: rape them, no big deal. As long as you have
• 5:47
Speaker 1: a couple of bucks and you're politically connected. Have you
• 5:52
Speaker 1: folks not seen the absurdity of it all? None of
• 5:54
Speaker 1: these people care about you. Not Joe Biden, not Merrick Garland,
• 5:59
Speaker 1: not Donald Trump, not Bill Barr, none of them. You
• 6:03
Speaker 1: are nothing but a piece on a chessboard. We're talking
• 6:09
Speaker 1: about something that happened in 2006 as opposed to now,
• 6:12
Speaker 1: Hafil said, emphasizing that the passage of time factored heavily
• 6:16
Speaker 1: into his decision making. Release may shed light on punishment
• 6:20
Speaker 1: Epstein received. If the records are released, the grand jurors,
• 6:25
Speaker 1: those who testified, and conspirators won't be identified, he said.
• 6:29
Speaker 1: The names will be redacted. Oh, of course they will be.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: So about that transparency I was talking about, huh? Right
• 6:36
Speaker 1: back at it. Why are you going to redact it?
• 6:39
Speaker 1: Why won't you just let us know who the co-conspirators are?
• 6:42
Speaker 1: Why are you guys so secretive about that? I'm fired
• 6:46
Speaker 1: up this morning, folks, if you can't hear it in
• 6:48
Speaker 1: my voice. I'm so sick of this bullshit. And I
• 6:54
Speaker 1: cannot wait for this trial to get underway. I just
• 6:58
Speaker 1: can't wait to see the smug smile wiped off her face.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: And then all of her friends, I can't wait to
• 7:04
Speaker 1: see them running for the hills. The court will review
• 7:10
Speaker 1: each and every shred of documentation, so those involved in
• 7:13
Speaker 1: the process are protected to the fullest extent of my ability,
• 7:17
Speaker 1: Hatfield said. Attorney Steven Mendelson, who represents the Post, said
• 7:22
Speaker 1: the newspaper had no interest in exposing the names of
• 7:24
Speaker 1: those who testified or those of the grand jurors. Instead,
• 7:29
Speaker 1: he said the records are needed so the public can
• 7:31
Speaker 1: learn why Epstein wasn't dealt with harshly. After dozens, folks, dozens, dozens,
• 7:37
Speaker 1: it's actually hundreds of teens told Palm Beach police they
• 7:40
Speaker 1: were lured to his mansion to give him massages and
• 7:43
Speaker 1: then they were pressured to have sex. Had he been
• 7:47
Speaker 1: prosecuted to the full extent of the law, the lives
• 7:50
Speaker 1: of many others could have been spared, Mendelsohn said. Yes.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: And that's why we are where we are, isn't it?
• 7:58
Speaker 1: When he was out on his little extended stay, when
• 8:02
Speaker 1: he was only sleeping at the jail, he was still
• 8:04
Speaker 1: raping and abusing people. But nah, nobody should be responsible
• 8:09
Speaker 1: for it. Everybody should just wipe their hands clean and
• 8:11
Speaker 1: keep it moving. These are the same people that demand
• 8:15
Speaker 1: responsibility out of you. These are the same people that
• 8:18
Speaker 1: make demands of your body via abortion or medicine or
• 8:24
Speaker 1: whatever it may be. And yet they can't even hold
• 8:27
Speaker 1: these people accountable when they're raping and abusing children. I
• 8:34
Speaker 1: can't be the only one who finds this all absurd, right?
• 8:39
Speaker 1: Attorney Shane Voight, who represented Palm Beach County Clerk of
• 8:42
Speaker 1: Courts Joe Abruzzo, said the office didn't object to the
• 8:47
Speaker 1: release of the records that it is legally required to maintain.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: The clerk can't do anything without a court order, Voight said.
• 8:54
Speaker 1: They will comply with the court order. oh, well, isn't
• 8:56
Speaker 1: that nice? I mean, at least he'll comply with the
• 8:59
Speaker 1: court order and all. I mean, shh, wow. The Palm
• 9:05
Speaker 1: Beach Post sued for the release of transcripts in 2019.
• 9:09
Speaker 1: The paper filed suits seeking to force the clerk to
• 9:12
Speaker 1: release to the grand, excuse me, to force the clerk
• 9:15
Speaker 1: to release the grand jury transcripts in 2019. Its investigation,
• 9:20
Speaker 1: the first failure, detailed how the Palm Beach County State Attorney,
• 9:24
Speaker 1: Barry Krischer, torpedoed the child molestation case that Palm Beach
• 9:29
Speaker 1: police built against Epstein. Instead of listening to police or
• 9:33
Speaker 1: the victims, Krischer instead was swayed by Epstein's high-octane defense team,
• 9:38
Speaker 1: including the famed attorney, Alan, I kept my underpants on, Dershowitz.
• 9:43
Speaker 1: Of course, Dershowitz was involved, considering the allegation against him
• 9:47
Speaker 1: by Virginia. You'd think he'd have a reason for being
• 9:53
Speaker 1: involved here, huh? you know, a little bit of motivation
• 9:57
Speaker 1: for Mr. I-kept-my-underpants-on, the naked volleyballer from Martha's Vineyard. Imagine
• 10:04
Speaker 1: being a prosecutor and getting end-rounded by Alan Dershowitz. Absolutely
• 10:10
Speaker 1: getting cucked and schooled. What an embarrassment Barry Krischer is.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: You had the complete power of the United States government
• 10:18
Speaker 1: behind you. and you let this crypt-keeping, naked volleyball-playing, bullshit-prattling,
• 10:27
Speaker 1: molester-defending son-of-a-bitch torpedo you. You, Barry Krischer, are voted off
• 10:35
Speaker 1: of the island. Krischer first offered to let Epstein plead
• 10:41
Speaker 1: guilty to aggravated assault. Under the proposed deal, Epstein wouldn't
• 10:46
Speaker 1: be jailed, and, if he complied with the terms of probation,
• 10:49
Speaker 1: his criminal record would be erased. When that deal fell apart,
• 10:53
Speaker 1: Krischer took the case to the grand jury. While at
• 10:56
Speaker 1: least 13 underage girls told police Epstein molested them, only
• 11:02
Speaker 1: one 14-year-old girl was called to testify. That's because they
• 11:06
Speaker 1: knew if they called all 13, they couldn't make this
• 11:09
Speaker 1: sweetheart deal appear for them. Am I the only one
• 11:12
Speaker 1: who's following here? And meanwhile, while all of this is happening, folks,
• 11:17
Speaker 1: I hope you're ready for this. your beloved Congress, okay?
• 11:21
Speaker 1: That was going to change everything after the election. Well,
• 11:25
Speaker 1: they're busy going after the Washington football team's emails and
• 11:29
Speaker 1: still have no desire to dig into this story. Ask
• 11:33
Speaker 1: yourselves why. And then say to yourselves, why did I
• 11:36
Speaker 1: vote for these people to send them to Congress if
• 11:38
Speaker 1: they're worried about the NFL and the emails there, but
• 11:42
Speaker 1: not about children being molested and sold into slavery? How
• 11:47
Speaker 1: anyone can... come to terms with that is beyond me,
• 11:51
Speaker 1: but here we are. Our Congress is an absolute dumpster fire.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: They're an embarrassment, and they're leading us down a road
• 11:59
Speaker 1: of disaster. Sources told the Post that prosecutors quizzed the
• 12:06
Speaker 1: teen about her MySpace pages, which featured posts about boys
• 12:09
Speaker 1: and drinking. Her social media accounts had been provided to
• 12:12
Speaker 1: Krischer's office by Epstein's defense team, records show. And of course,
• 12:16
Speaker 1: I mean, what teenage girl doesn't have a couple of
• 12:19
Speaker 1: drinks or talk about boys? That's so out of character.
• 12:22
Speaker 1: It just makes her a non-credible witness, huh? Miss me
• 12:26
Speaker 1: with all of that shit. The idea of the prosecutor
• 12:30
Speaker 1: getting in bed with the defense team to move this forward,
• 12:33
Speaker 1: this is one of the parts of this case that
• 12:36
Speaker 1: really ignites me and launches me into orbit, if you
• 12:39
Speaker 1: haven't been able to tell with the way I've been
• 12:43
Speaker 1: acting during this podcast today. It is... unseemly to me,
• 12:47
Speaker 1: that this many girls can come forward and only one
• 12:50
Speaker 1: of them is asked to testify. Police had asked Krischer
• 12:56
Speaker 1: to charge Epstein with four counts of unlawful sexual activity
• 12:59
Speaker 1: with a minor and one count of lewd molestation. The charges,
• 13:04
Speaker 1: punishable by maximum 30 and 15 year sentences, respectively, could
• 13:09
Speaker 1: have sent Epstein to prison for decades. No Man Act.
• 13:13
Speaker 1: No RICO. No. Ask yourselves why. It's good for R. Kelly, though, right?
• 13:17
Speaker 1: It's good for Rainieri, but not Epstein? Well, I'll tell
• 13:20
Speaker 1: you why. My opinion? It's because Epstein was being protected
• 13:23
Speaker 1: by people in the government, while the other guys, well,
• 13:26
Speaker 1: they weren't. Instead, the Grand Jury indicted Epstein on a
• 13:32
Speaker 1: single charge of solicitation of prostitution. By then, an outraged
• 13:36
Speaker 1: Palm Beach police chief, Michael Ryder, had taken the case
• 13:40
Speaker 1: to the U.S. Attorney's Office. After months of negotiation with
• 13:43
Speaker 1: Epstein's defense team in Krischer, South Florida U.S. Attorney Alex
• 13:47
  Speaker 1: Acosta crafted a secret non-prosecution agreement. Here's where I diverge
• 13:53
Speaker 1: from most here. I don't think that Alex Acosta crafted
• 13:56
Speaker 1: this agreement. He's a mid-level bureaucrat. This came from on high,
• 14:01
Speaker 1: Mukasey and friends. If Epstein would plead guilty to two
• 14:07
Speaker 1: state prostitution charges, Acosta agreed to shell the 60-page federal
• 14:12
Speaker 1: indictment that had been prepared against him. As part of
• 14:15
Speaker 1: that agreement, Krischer added a charge of soliciting a minor
• 14:18
Speaker 1: for prostitution. Federal prosecutors insisted on it because it would
• 14:23
Speaker 1: force Epstein to register as a sex offender. So that
• 14:27
Speaker 1: was their, oh, well, he's a sex offender. We made
• 14:30
Speaker 1: him register at least. That was their mea culpa. Man,
• 14:34
Speaker 1: F you guys. This whole entire thing is gross and
• 14:38
Speaker 1: I won't let it go. How about that? Until someone
• 14:43
Speaker 1: rectifies this situation and people are held accountable, me and
• 14:47
Speaker 1: my beard are going to be yelling about this. Epstein
• 14:52
Speaker 1: ultimately pleaded guilty to two charges. He served 12 months
• 14:56
Speaker 1: of an 18-month sentence in the Palm Beach County Stockade.
• 14:59
Speaker 1: A cell block, he was allowed to leave for 12
• 15:01
Speaker 1: hours a day, six days a week. So basically, it
• 15:05
Speaker 1: was like he was some kind of mafioso in the
• 15:07
Speaker 1: old days in Sicily. Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm in prison. Meanwhile,
• 15:10
Speaker 1: he built the prison. He employs all the guards. Basically,
• 15:13
Speaker 1: what's going on here? You think that would happen to you,
• 15:16
Speaker 1: your cousin Jeff, your friend Mike? No, it only happens
• 15:20
Speaker 1: for the so-called elite and because they have these politicians
• 15:23
Speaker 1: in their pocket. Now, run home and tell Merrick Garland that.
• 15:29
Speaker 1: As part of the plea agreement, Epstein also agreed to
• 15:32
Speaker 1: settle lawsuits that were filed against him by nearly three
• 15:35
Speaker 1: dozen women he sexually assaulted. Hafiel handled many of those cases,
• 15:42
Speaker 1: along with one Epstein filed against attorney Bradley Edwards, who
• 15:46
Speaker 1: represented dozens of young women who sought to bring their
• 15:48
Speaker 1: molester to justice. Having presided over those cases, Hatfield said
• 15:53
Speaker 1: he was all too familiar with the allegations against Epstein
• 15:57
Speaker 1: and voiced dismay at how the young women were treated
• 16:00
Speaker 1: by the criminal justice system. These women were not victims,
• 16:04
Speaker 1: he said, of how the teens were portrayed. They were
• 16:07
Speaker 1: done both criminally and in front of this court. Yes,
• 16:12
Speaker 1: they were. They were multiple times victims, but they became survivors.
• 16:19
Speaker 1: courts more willing to release grand jury records at least
• 16:22
Speaker 1: years afterwards. If Hathfield agrees to release the grand jury records,
• 16:26
Speaker 1: it would be the first time in the county's history
• 16:28
Speaker 1: that the public has gotten an inside look at the
• 16:30
Speaker 1: secret proceedings. But in recent years, judges have been more
• 16:34
Speaker 1: willing to pierce the veil of secrecy, particularly in high-profile cases.
• 16:39
Speaker 1: Most of the releases came years after the fact. Well, look,
• 16:44
Speaker 1: better late than never, right? but you all know how
• 16:47
Speaker 1: I feel about transparency, especially at this point. It needs
• 16:50
Speaker 1: to be a more transparent process. In 2008, a New
• 16:56
Speaker 1: York judge agreed to release most of the records of
• 16:59
Speaker 1: the Grand Jury proceedings that led to the 1950 espionage
• 17:02
Speaker 1: indictments of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. The couple was tried, convicted,
• 17:08
Speaker 1: and executed for passing atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.
• 17:13
Speaker 1: In 2015... Additional testimony was released that historians said raised
• 17:18
Speaker 1: questions about Ethel Rosenberg's involvement. Historians also pushed for the
• 17:23
Speaker 1: release of testimony of President Richard Nixon that he provided
• 17:28
Speaker 1: at Watergate after he left office in 1974. In 2011,
• 17:32
Speaker 1: a judge in Washington, D.C. ordered the transcripts to be
• 17:36
Speaker 1: made public, and they are now available online. Halfhill said
• 17:44
Speaker 1: the Epstein case is unique. Any decision he makes would
• 17:47
Speaker 1: be carefully tailored to ensure it can't be used to
• 17:49
Speaker 1: open the floodgates of requests to release grand jury documents. Still,
• 17:55
Speaker 1: he said understanding what happened in the Epstein case could
• 17:58
Speaker 1: help others who are survivors of sex trafficking. These survivors
• 18:02
Speaker 1: are not unique, he said. While highly publicized, these kinds
• 18:05
Speaker 1: of cases are going on as we speak. with victims
• 18:08
Speaker 1: who are not victims of a wealthy Palm Beach resident,
• 18:11
Speaker 1: but by people who likely have as much control over them.
• 18:15
Speaker 1: And that's a fact. This is happening all over the
• 18:17
Speaker 1: world right now. Every county, in every state, in every nation, everywhere,
• 18:22
Speaker 1: there are people running these sorts of organizations and criminal enterprises.
• 18:27
Speaker 1: The question is, what are our authorities and our elected
• 18:31
Speaker 1: officials going to do about it? From where I'm sitting...
• 18:35
Speaker 1: Seems they're more concerned about the emails in the NFL
• 18:38
Speaker 1: than they are about your kids being trafficked or abused.
• 18:44
Speaker 1: And that, in my opinion, is absolutely unacceptable. We have
• 18:48
Speaker 1: to demand more from our elected officials. And we can't
• 18:51
Speaker 1: do that if we're continuously fighting with one another. So folks,
• 18:56
Speaker 1: I implore you. Take a look behind the curtain. And
