- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:08Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes eight seventy seven through eight seventy nine.
- 0:17Speaker 1: What are the titled again? I should have had this
- 0:19Speaker 1: pulled up here. It is the parting time Pudding's last wish.
- 0:23Speaker 1: The world is stunned, the fifth Emperor of the Sea emerges,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and to the reverie, the straw Hats sworn allies come together.
- 0:35Speaker 1: In these episodes, everybody is finding out that Loofy has
- 0:42Speaker 1: been called the next Warlord and celebrating and not really
- 0:50Speaker 1: at all surprised for the most part, which I wouldn't
- 0:54Speaker 1: be either. Also, we find out what exactly was going
- 0:58Speaker 1: on with putting that time and you guys, welcome to
- 1:07Speaker 1: spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning this episode.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Florian is here in the chat and oh, Seraphim, Seraphims
- 1:39Speaker 1: is emperor. War Lord is a lower title. I completely forgot.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I think that I'm I'm a little bit too in
- 1:47Speaker 1: the wandering in right now, and so warlord is kind
- 1:51Speaker 1: of at the front of my mind. There's also warlords
- 1:56Speaker 1: in Uh dunn't curler Carl so I suppose it's the
- 2:00Speaker 1: fluence from everybody affecting me. So I'm gonna be honest
- 2:07Speaker 1: with you guys and say that I'm not entirely sure
- 2:11Speaker 1: how I will cover how I will make an hour
- 2:15Speaker 1: out of some of this. This is not like an
- 2:19Speaker 1: insult at all. It's more just like there is so
- 2:22Speaker 1: much flashbacking that it feels as if I'm going to
- 2:28Speaker 1: be just covering shit we know, and it's mostly reactions
- 2:35Speaker 1: to Lufy and thinking back what it's about with Lufy,
- 2:40Speaker 1: like what this means for him. Sarahim says, I have
- 2:45Speaker 1: zero worries. You can find somebody to talk about, and
- 2:49Speaker 1: that is true. I mean fair Florian says, at least
- 2:55Speaker 1: is reanimated, is it? I genuinely this is not something
- 3:00Speaker 1: that I have enough experience in to be able to
- 3:03Speaker 1: spot when it happens. I'll be honest, guys, I am
- 3:05Speaker 1: genuinely like not the person to clock it, which is
- 3:10Speaker 1: weird because I like to draw. I'm an artistic person,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but animation is like its own particular thing and I
- 3:18Speaker 1: just don't really know very much about it. But that's
- 3:23Speaker 1: not to say like I didn't enjoy this section, but
- 3:25Speaker 1: it did feel a little bit strange and disconnected at times,
- 3:29Speaker 1: just because there's a sense of like when we are
- 3:37Speaker 1: flashing back, it's not always clear to me that that's
- 3:42Speaker 1: what's happening. And there are times within this group of
- 3:47Speaker 1: episodes where I think that's what's happening, and then it
- 3:49Speaker 1: turns out not to be. For example, like with Soanji
- 3:56Speaker 1: and Zeph, at one point, I believe that it's meant
- 4:01Speaker 1: to be both he and Zef right now are cooking
- 4:06Speaker 1: for people, and that we're witnessing what's going on in
- 4:11Speaker 1: the present for both of them, just as a sort
- 4:14Speaker 1: of like look at how similarly they've turned out. They're
- 4:17Speaker 1: both cooking for pirates, even though in Zef's case, they
- 4:21Speaker 1: are not pirates that he's like friends with or anything.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It's just Zef cooks for anybody who's hungry. So I
- 4:30Speaker 1: really got a little confused for a second there, and
- 4:32Speaker 1: I thought that we were flashing back to Zef. But
- 4:36Speaker 1: then the way it's animated is it's like a split
- 4:39Speaker 1: screen with the two of them, and I still thought like, oh, okay,
- 4:43Speaker 1: we're just seeing Sanji sort of imitating behavior that he
- 4:48Speaker 1: once saw from Zef. And then I watched this section twice,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and I on the second viewing, I was like, wait,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I think that's not a flashback at all. I think
- 4:59Speaker 1: that's supposed to be what's happening right now. SARAHM says
- 5:06Speaker 1: the everyone reacts to the latest straw Hats news bits
- 5:10Speaker 1: after the major arcs tends to be called decks of
- 5:13Speaker 1: the world bits and mostly handled via cover series, with
- 5:17Speaker 1: each cover page being one place's reactions. So yeah, will
- 5:21Speaker 1: be odd when they try to turn that into an episode.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And also, yeah, that's meant to show the connection between
- 5:26Speaker 1: Soanji and his real dad. Okay, cool, because you know
- 5:32Speaker 1: it could Like, honestly, it doesn't matter if it's a
- 5:36Speaker 1: flashback or not. Either way, it's just the influence that
- 5:40Speaker 1: Zef has had on Soanji. Whether zeph is still doing
- 5:43Speaker 1: the thing or not, we know that's what informs who
- 5:47Speaker 1: Sonji is, so it doesn't matter. But I really was
- 5:51Speaker 1: sort of like watching it going hold on, wait, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: there's a a I want to just talk about, like
- 6:01Speaker 1: Sanji up top since some pudding was meant was what
- 6:07Speaker 1: I mentioned in the intro. But I did find it
- 6:11Speaker 1: really really funny that Sangi's what do you call it?
- 6:18Speaker 2: Guys?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Bounty goes up and he's psyched about it. Plus it
- 6:23Speaker 1: says dead or alive now. But then he like continues
- 6:27Speaker 1: reading and now he's called Vince Smoke Sanji, and he
- 6:32Speaker 1: feels that it only went up because of the notoriety
- 6:37Speaker 1: of his family and not because he himself has proved
- 6:40Speaker 1: to be more of a badass. And he is very
- 6:45Speaker 1: annoyed about that, which I really understand. I fucking love
- 6:53Speaker 1: the fact that his family name is out there now
- 6:57Speaker 1: and this is going to have potential some lasting effects.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's like, I don't know what I expected. I guess
- 7:06Speaker 1: I thought that like he could just kind of keep
- 7:09Speaker 1: it on the DL who he was related to. But
- 7:12Speaker 1: Morgan's being here and then spreading the word about everything
- 7:16Speaker 1: that happened has had a It has caused a complete
- 7:21Speaker 1: shift on tons of fronts, and Big Mom swears that
- 7:28Speaker 1: she is going to fuck that dude up when she
- 7:31Speaker 1: sees him, because basically he publishes saying she was beaten
- 7:38Speaker 1: by Loofy, which she takes issue with and says, like
- 7:44Speaker 1: beaten when was I beaten? And like, to a point,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I kind of agree with her. Beaten doesn't feel like
- 7:52Speaker 1: the right wording I would say that out smarted so
- 7:55Speaker 1: that he was able to escape without suffering the consequences
- 7:59Speaker 1: that she would usually inflict on somebody is winning in
- 8:05Speaker 1: comparison to what would have happened to him otherwise and
- 8:09Speaker 1: considering his strength level, but it's not beating her. Him
- 8:14Speaker 1: winning doesn't result in her being beaten. It more feels
- 8:19Speaker 1: simply like we have delayed the consequences of this, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and the fact that Morgan's has published this, I have
- 8:33Speaker 1: to assume he knows the way she's going to react,
- 8:39Speaker 1: so I don't I'm wondering if it's like I wouldn't
- 8:43Speaker 1: mind if we had a side story about Morgan's and
- 8:47Speaker 1: his like publishing this and then hiring extra security, you know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: or maybe like going on a prolonged vacation somewhere, maybe
- 8:57Speaker 1: arguing with somebody about publishing it at all because he's like,
- 9:02Speaker 1: this is what happened, and they're like, yeah, that's not
- 9:04Speaker 1: my problem with it. It's that you are gonna get
- 9:07Speaker 1: targeted real bad. I really enjoy this aspect of things
- 9:15Speaker 1: simply because when things have been made news before, it's
- 9:20Speaker 1: been a really different feel due to the fact that
- 9:22Speaker 1: like we haven't been as we haven't seen as much
- 9:28Speaker 1: of the connection of who was there and witnessed it
- 9:31Speaker 1: and the translation of the story through them. Like when
- 9:35Speaker 1: we see the Marine Ford fight being broadcast to everybody,
- 9:43Speaker 1: that's like a video that's being sent over in real time.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And sure, depending on who's in front of the camera
- 9:51Speaker 1: or who is like choosing where we're filming, that will
- 9:55Speaker 1: influence things. But it's a lot more difficult to like
- 9:59Speaker 1: fake in a gen to when it's live like that.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And we have seen these these bounty posters come out,
- 10:10Speaker 1: But correct me if I'm wrong, Guys, I don't know
- 10:14Speaker 1: if we ever see the person reporting to whomever is
- 10:20Speaker 1: in charge to like give them an update about why
- 10:24Speaker 1: we need to create a higher bounty for this person.
- 10:28Speaker 1: It just sort of happens. We'll just see a new
- 10:31Speaker 1: poster and we'll be like, oh shit, you know, because
- 10:34Speaker 1: something just occurred that was like changes the whole landscape
- 10:37Speaker 1: of things, and so naturally their bounty will shift. But
- 10:43Speaker 1: actually getting to meet Morgans and then like finding out
- 10:47Speaker 1: he is the one responsible for this news getting out
- 10:50Speaker 1: for the changes that happen, it gives everything a bit
- 10:54Speaker 1: of a target in a way that like I want
- 10:59Speaker 1: Morgans to have eaten a devil fruit or have something
- 11:05Speaker 1: very distinctive about him that will guarantee protection because like
- 11:12Speaker 1: any good journalist, he's playing with fire. You know. I
- 11:17Speaker 1: will say, like a lot of the time, when I
- 11:22Speaker 1: think about the word journalist, it's a bit of a
- 11:27Speaker 1: it's like journalist in brackets derogatory, where I'm thinking really
- 11:32Speaker 1: about like paparazzi, you know, the kind of people who
- 11:35Speaker 1: just like dog the steps of celebrities, or I'm thinking
- 11:38Speaker 1: about news anchors at Fox who just pair it absolute bullshit.
- 11:44Speaker 1: But it's really unfair that I think that way, because
- 11:47Speaker 1: those people are not Paparazzi is a specific thing. News
- 11:51Speaker 1: anchors at Fox are not journalists, and I think any
- 11:54Speaker 1: journalist would really get their fucking dand or up being
- 11:58Speaker 1: compared to those people. So I recognize that, like that
- 12:04Speaker 1: immediate moment of where I go in my head is
- 12:07Speaker 1: not fair. But really, when you think about journalists and
- 12:13Speaker 1: what they do and who they are, and the danger
- 12:16Speaker 1: that they put themselves in finding things out and putting
- 12:19Speaker 1: it out there, it is such you have to have
- 12:22Speaker 1: some balls. You have to be really willing to like
- 12:28Speaker 1: just be in the crosshairs. And I can't imagine, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: it doesn't always work out for them. Plenty of journalists
- 12:37Speaker 1: are murdered. It happens a lot more frequently than I
- 12:40Speaker 1: think we even realize because most of us don't really
- 12:45Speaker 1: know about the journalists we know about like the talking
- 12:49Speaker 1: heads that regurgitate what the journalists reported, if that makes sense.
- 12:56Speaker 1: So anyway, I just find this sort of interesting because, like,
- 12:59Speaker 1: while Morgan's was there talking about like, oh, this would
- 13:02Speaker 1: be a fun headline, YadA YadA, I was just sort
- 13:06Speaker 1: of seeing him as a like kind of poking at
- 13:12Speaker 1: the family and just being like being there to irritate
- 13:17Speaker 1: them and say things that would make them feel like
- 13:21Speaker 1: they really need to like get their shit together. I
- 13:24Speaker 1: was not considering what kind of influence he was going
- 13:29Speaker 1: to have in the way that he could just really
- 13:31Speaker 1: fuck their shit up pretty badly. So Sarah Im says,
- 13:38Speaker 1: we saw a bit of the bounty creation process the
- 13:40Speaker 1: first time Ratfink got loofy his bounty. Though keep in
- 13:44Speaker 1: mind the bounties are set by the Marines. Morgan's an
- 13:47Speaker 1: independent newspaper publisher. Yes, but his report will influence them, right,
- 13:55Speaker 1: is that? Because that's how I was interpreting it. But
- 13:57Speaker 1: now I'm like, is that true? Jorkins has a devil
- 14:00Speaker 1: fruit the albatross zohen and he's pretty much the William
- 14:04Speaker 1: Randolph Hirst type of journalist. So he is a human
- 14:10Speaker 1: and the albatross form that he takes on is due
- 14:15Speaker 1: to the devil fruit. It's not that he was like
- 14:18Speaker 1: an albatross who was a mink. That's the word I'm
- 14:23Speaker 1: looking for, thing a seraphim. He's a human, not a
- 14:25Speaker 1: minx at seraphim. Okay, okay, cool. So anyway, all that said,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I had, I'm over here like, let me talk about
- 14:36Speaker 1: Soanji and Pudding, and then I just did not do that.
- 14:41Speaker 1: We find out what went on with Pudding and guys,
- 14:45Speaker 1: it was her taking memories, but it wasn't what I thought.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I was thinking that it was just going to be
- 14:51Speaker 1: I am going to remove memories of me so that
- 14:55Speaker 1: you're not hurt, or I'll remove the memories of me
- 15:00Speaker 1: being a millin because I can't stand to think of
- 15:03Speaker 1: you seeing me that way, or you know, YadA YadA.
- 15:06Speaker 1: But what it seems to be is that she kisses
- 15:10Speaker 1: Sanjy and then she takes the memory of the kiss
- 15:15Speaker 1: from him and then is like in the Alley crying
- 15:20Speaker 1: over this last moment of the two of them together
- 15:24Speaker 1: that he doesn't even remember, which I can understand if
- 15:32Speaker 1: some people take issue with this. You know, by it's
- 15:35Speaker 1: very nature. Her power is fucked up. It's very invasive.
- 15:41Speaker 1: She doesn't ask for consent. It's like messing with the
- 15:45Speaker 1: fundamentals of who a person is. And I will acknowledge
- 15:48Speaker 1: all of that, but you know, for the sake of
- 15:51Speaker 1: the show, we're just gonna go with it. And this
- 15:55Speaker 1: moment really got to my heartstrings. It really did the
- 15:59Speaker 1: idea idea of like, I want this moment for myself
- 16:06Speaker 1: and taking it from him so that only you remember it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It's as if it never happened, or as if you
- 16:13Speaker 1: simply imagined it fantasized so hard. You know, this is
- 16:21Speaker 1: I wanted them to be together so bad, and I
- 16:24Speaker 1: still do. There's a part of me that's still thinking
- 16:27Speaker 1: that there's like somehow this can happen, And there's a
- 16:31Speaker 1: part of me that still feels like this wedding happened
- 16:33Speaker 1: and they are technically married. You know, I do not
- 16:37Speaker 1: think that it is in canon that that's true, because
- 16:42Speaker 1: I think that I'm basing this on Western weddings and
- 16:45Speaker 1: the way that things would have had to go, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 1: for a Western wedding. They both said, I do, and
- 16:53Speaker 1: that would be enough. But I don't know if it's
- 16:56Speaker 1: like you know, I think it's meant to be that
- 16:59Speaker 1: they just missed. But yeah, this moment is just genuinely
- 17:06Speaker 1: very sweet. And I just feel so bad for her
- 17:09Speaker 1: because we go back to like the flashbacks of her
- 17:12Speaker 1: being made fun of her eye and the way that
- 17:15Speaker 1: everybody told her what a freak she was and how
- 17:18Speaker 1: disgusting and just keep it hidden. I can't stand looking
- 17:21Speaker 1: at it. And it's always going to like get to
- 17:25Speaker 1: me when you see somebody being bullied for some shit
- 17:29Speaker 1: that they have no control over it all. And in
- 17:33Speaker 1: that vein, we have to talk about Kategori, who the
- 17:40Speaker 1: reveal of his relationship with Brulet is really really sweet.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Also I wasn't expecting this, but and I also didn't
- 17:50Speaker 1: quite realize about like, yeah, he fell on his face
- 17:54Speaker 1: that one time, but then he stood and then he
- 17:55Speaker 1: fell on his back like that that clearly was a
- 18:00Speaker 1: choice he was making. And that line that she had
- 18:06Speaker 1: said he's straight up disrespectful of the ground will never
- 18:11Speaker 1: not be funny. To me, but she is there to
- 18:16Speaker 1: bind his wounds, and she asks him, why'd you stand
- 18:20Speaker 1: up again just to fall on your back, And he's like,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I really don't know, but that whole thing about me
- 18:26Speaker 1: never falling on my back isn't true, you know, to
- 18:30Speaker 1: which Brula is like, yeah, of course I know. I've
- 18:33Speaker 1: watched you through the mirrors a lot of times, I know.
- 18:38Speaker 1: And then we get a flashback of him as a kid,
- 18:44Speaker 1: where yes, he's made fun of for his weird mouth,
- 18:50Speaker 1: but he doesn't seem as upset by it, nearly as
- 18:53Speaker 1: upset as pudding. Of course, a major part of that
- 18:57Speaker 1: being because physically he will just beat the shit out
- 19:01Speaker 1: of people who mock him. But what he doesn't like
- 19:06Speaker 1: account for is that folks don't have to come at
- 19:12Speaker 1: you to hurt you. In fact, sometimes it's better to
- 19:16Speaker 1: not come at you to hurt you. So one day
- 19:22Speaker 1: he hears somebody yelling about how Brulay got hurt, and
- 19:26Speaker 1: he runs over and sees she's been fucked up and
- 19:31Speaker 1: there's like a mark over her face, and she's trying
- 19:34Speaker 1: to tell him it's not a big deal, it's okay,
- 19:37Speaker 1: but he is enraged at the fact that somebody would
- 19:41Speaker 1: come after her when it's him that they have a
- 19:44Speaker 1: problem with. Now, what she says, like in the present
- 19:49Speaker 1: is I know that you like manufactured this reputation of
- 19:53Speaker 1: being completely invulnerable to protect your siblings. But I'll say
- 20:01Speaker 1: that I don't really understand why that would help. If
- 20:06Speaker 1: they are coming after his siblings and not him, like
- 20:13Speaker 1: being an even bigger badass who can't be beaten, I
- 20:18Speaker 1: would think would give folks even more motivation to not
- 20:21Speaker 1: come at you and to come at your brothers and
- 20:23Speaker 1: sisters instead. So I feel like I missed a step
- 20:28Speaker 1: in here about exactly what was going on. It's not
- 20:31Speaker 1: like it's not that big an issue for me, but
- 20:34Speaker 1: I feel like there's something I maybe missed. But that said,
- 20:40Speaker 1: the two of them being buds in this way and
- 20:43Speaker 1: him really thinking that he's like getting one over on everybody.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But it turns out that Brulet has known this whole
- 20:48Speaker 1: time that he's full of shit and that the reputation
- 20:51Speaker 1: isn't real is actually kind of great and funny. Even
- 20:57Speaker 1: it does make it fucked up that later she go
- 21:00Speaker 1: out to everybody and it's just like straw Hat obviously cheated,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and that's the only way he could have won, because
- 21:08Speaker 1: you know, but she's on the side of her family,
- 21:12Speaker 1: so of course she's gonna do that. Make himself such
- 21:19Speaker 1: an unmitigated badass who makes it clear that you fuck
- 21:21Speaker 1: with his family, he will end you see also Harry
- 21:24Speaker 1: Dresden regarding his own family. Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It just still feels like you want to teach your
- 21:33Speaker 1: family how to defend themselves more. But yeah, yeah, I suppose.
- 21:41Speaker 1: But like I said, I just really like the relationship
- 21:44Speaker 1: between these two. I think that what it is with
- 21:48Speaker 1: Fellah of this arc is big Mom has such a
- 21:51Speaker 1: huge family, all these children, and we meet so many
- 21:56Speaker 1: people and actually spend like a fairmount of time with
- 22:00Speaker 1: certain ones of them, so that you do get more
- 22:06Speaker 1: of a sense of the role that they play in
- 22:09Speaker 1: the family. That getting to see moments like this, of
- 22:14Speaker 1: like these two are a team and get along and
- 22:18Speaker 1: look out for each other. Of course, there has to
- 22:22Speaker 1: be all kinds of alliances like this with her children.
- 22:26Speaker 1: You know, they're all going to be different people who
- 22:29Speaker 1: are really like close with one another and have each
- 22:32Speaker 1: other's backs versus others. But it's just I like it
- 22:39Speaker 1: because I think that it would be easy to portray
- 22:43Speaker 1: everybody as kind of cutthroat and out for themselves, and
- 22:49Speaker 1: you know it being much more competitive amongst everybody for
- 22:55Speaker 1: Mom's affection or approval in a very sort of like
- 23:02Speaker 1: cold blooded way. And I like seeing a relationship like
- 23:07Speaker 1: this where it's about just genuinely wanting his family to
- 23:14Speaker 1: not get picked on and targeted, and it's like, got
- 23:17Speaker 1: nothing to do with personal gain, it's just don't do
- 23:22Speaker 1: this to my people. And I won't go so far
- 23:27Speaker 1: as to say like Kadakuri is a good person, because
- 23:32Speaker 1: I really don't have enough inherration. He's clearly honorable, so
- 23:37Speaker 1: that's something. But I just like they're being scattered in
- 23:42Speaker 1: amongst all these maniacs. Somebody that I feel like, maybe
- 23:48Speaker 1: they can be rescued. Maybe this could, you know, the
- 23:52Speaker 1: same thing with Pudding we have here and there someone
- 23:58Speaker 1: that I feel like, maybe it doesn't have to be
- 24:02Speaker 1: that they stay stuck here and that there's no escape
- 24:07Speaker 1: from Big Mom's family because they are too much of
- 24:10Speaker 1: that mentality. Maybe there's a potential for a way out
- 24:15Speaker 1: for them. I don't know how that would happen, but
- 24:16Speaker 1: you know, it just gives a sense of more humanity
- 24:22Speaker 1: to everybody who is involved in this. Her all of
- 24:25Speaker 1: her children are not a monolith of just like mustache
- 24:30Speaker 1: twirling villains, and we need that, we need to have
- 24:34Speaker 1: some more personality injected in here, Saraphim says, see also
- 24:42Speaker 1: Lola and Chiffon. Yes, but I do count them separately
- 24:47Speaker 1: simply because Big Mom rejected them. So it feels less
- 24:53Speaker 1: like Lola is rejected because she left, so that is
- 25:00Speaker 1: like her deciding to go out into the world, and
- 25:04Speaker 1: you know that's her making this choice. But when it
- 25:07Speaker 1: comes to Putting, especially but also kind of Cory, they
- 25:11Speaker 1: are like really part of this family in a way
- 25:16Speaker 1: that is central. You know, They're like in the mix,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and they would be the exact type of people that
- 25:23Speaker 1: I would think there's no way they're getting out of this,
- 25:27Speaker 1: or that they would be willing to turn their back
- 25:29Speaker 1: on her or whatever. And now I'm kind of like
- 25:32Speaker 1: maybe they would, like I don't know what it would take,
- 25:36Speaker 1: because I was hoping that Pudding would run away with
- 25:38Speaker 1: Sanjy here, so genuinely, I don't know what would have
- 25:43Speaker 1: to happen for her to be willing to like take off,
- 25:47Speaker 1: But maybe maybe someday I don't know, so okay, okay,
- 25:56Speaker 1: I will talk too about like Lufy's It's it's funny
- 26:00Speaker 1: how long this joke goes on because I think it's
- 26:02Speaker 1: in the second episode of these three where Loofy is
- 26:05Speaker 1: like crying because his bounty has gone down and he
- 26:08Speaker 1: doesn't understand why everybody's trying to like comfort him and
- 26:12Speaker 1: make it like it's not that big a deal. Brook
- 26:14Speaker 1: says something like why would it go down? Did you
- 26:17Speaker 1: do something wrong? And carrots like isn't that backwards? And
- 26:21Speaker 1: he's like, oh, yeah, you're right. But eventually Brooke picks
- 26:29Speaker 1: up the poster and he's like, hold on a second,
- 26:34Speaker 1: and then points out that Loofy has misread it because
- 26:40Speaker 1: there are so many zeros, which I like deeply understand,
- 26:45Speaker 1: and actually it's one point five billion berries that is
- 26:51Speaker 1: his bounty, which is fucking bonkers. So yeah, very very
- 26:58Speaker 1: exciting news. And it was like because the way that
- 27:02Speaker 1: we find out his bounty has gone down, so he says,
- 27:06Speaker 1: but then we get the information about him being like
- 27:12Speaker 1: the fifth Emperor of the Sea, and I'm like, well,
- 27:16Speaker 1: then why would his bounty go down? Are the Emperors
- 27:19Speaker 1: of the Sea somehow? Is there like something separate that
- 27:23Speaker 1: happens for them or what, and it just takes a
- 27:26Speaker 1: long time before we finally get Brooke correcting him. And
- 27:31Speaker 1: like I said, in the meanwhile, we have got the
- 27:33Speaker 1: reactions of all of these different people to the news
- 27:37Speaker 1: and seeing we watch another flashback, you know, with him
- 27:41Speaker 1: and Shanks and everything that happens there and Shanks losing
- 27:43Speaker 1: an arm. I'll be honest, I don't really understand why
- 27:46Speaker 1: we needed to do all that again, because it doesn't
- 27:50Speaker 1: really inform anything for me, Like it just I think
- 27:57Speaker 1: that there were other things we could do. And I
- 27:58Speaker 1: don't know if it's supposed to be we're just reusing
- 28:00Speaker 1: footage we already have because we couldn't afford to pay
- 28:03Speaker 1: animators to do new stuff or what. But I if
- 28:07Speaker 1: we if that's what it is, then like, so be it.
- 28:10Speaker 1: But the one scene that I found very surprising was Kobe.
- 28:19Speaker 1: So Kobe is out here. There's like some pirates that
- 28:23Speaker 1: have gotten their hands on a submarine somehow. I don't
- 28:29Speaker 1: know how this all happens, but it like it's unclear
- 28:36Speaker 1: whether or not because of this, like what I'm about
- 28:41Speaker 1: to describe, if this were being handled in this way
- 28:47Speaker 1: by a different property. I would take this as evidence
- 28:52Speaker 1: that this is like a newly acquired thing, this submarine,
- 28:56Speaker 1: But because it's one piece, I think maybe it's not
- 28:59Speaker 1: new acquired. And it's just that this like kind of
- 29:02Speaker 1: awkward dialogue is there because it's letting us know a thing.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But we've got the pirates that are on a submarine
- 29:14Speaker 1: talking about how great a submarine is because nobody's going
- 29:19Speaker 1: to see them coming and we can get right up
- 29:22Speaker 1: to them before they have a clue or there, And
- 29:24Speaker 1: let's see, you run from a missile and blah blah
- 29:27Speaker 1: blah blah blah. And these guys fire a missile toward
- 29:32Speaker 1: a ship that we find out has Viv and her
- 29:37Speaker 1: father on it, among many others obviously, and Kobe appears
- 29:47Speaker 1: out of nowhere and like jumps on the missile itself
- 29:54Speaker 1: and manages to somehow like redirect it so that it
- 29:58Speaker 1: explodes near the ship but does not bust.
- 30:02Speaker 2: A hole in the hull of the ship.
- 30:05Speaker 1: And obviously like saves all their lives. I will also
- 30:14Speaker 1: say too, that like this is such an unwise way
- 30:18Speaker 1: to operate as a pirate, like the point of being
- 30:21Speaker 1: a pirate if we're going traditionally would be I'm climbing
- 30:25Speaker 1: on board taking all your stuff, and now I'm taking
- 30:28Speaker 1: your ship and it's going to be part of my
- 30:31Speaker 1: armada now. But here it's just I'm gonna kill you
- 30:36Speaker 1: and your whole ship is gonna sink. Haha. And that's it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Like this is not a great means of taking people
- 30:46Speaker 1: down if you want the treasure that's on there, or
- 30:50Speaker 1: if you want to like collect ransom for the people,
- 30:53Speaker 1: or you know, any number of things. But I'm willing
- 31:00Speaker 1: to put this down to these pirates are just not
- 31:03Speaker 1: great at their jobs. That's fine. And he jumps on
- 31:08Speaker 1: this manages to stop it, and then when he climbs
- 31:12Speaker 1: on board, and like they thank him for what happened.
- 31:16Speaker 1: King Kobra is just like, wow, you really saved our asses.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I can't believe that you were able to do something
- 31:23Speaker 1: like that. And Kobe is like it really wasn't that
- 31:27Speaker 1: big a deal, And Cobra says he thinks something like
- 31:32Speaker 1: what a good kid, if only he could learn to
- 31:35Speaker 1: take a compliment, which I did think was kind of funny.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Seraphim says, I think their plan was to sink the
- 31:42Speaker 1: ship in a way that doesn't kill everyone instantly. But
- 31:45Speaker 1: leaves them helpless in the water. Then they kidnap the
- 31:48Speaker 1: rich nobles and hold them for ransom. Okay, I don't
- 31:52Speaker 1: know how, Like, you know, they're literally just shooting it
- 31:55Speaker 1: with a missile, so it feels like that's not how
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's gonna happen, guys, But it's fine. I actually prefer
- 32:03Speaker 1: it that maybe these are just very dumb pirates. And yeah,
- 32:09Speaker 1: he Kobe spots that Vivi is holding a newspaper that
- 32:15Speaker 1: has Lufy's face on it, and he begins reading, and
- 32:19Speaker 1: it's so funny because he's like very proud of Loofy
- 32:23Speaker 1: and just thinks to himself, man, he is so cool,
- 32:27Speaker 1: Like there's something very wholesome about whenever somebody's just like
- 32:31Speaker 1: they're really cool and they're totally sincere in saying that.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And Kobe has been impressed with Loofy from like the
- 32:41Speaker 1: get go, and of course we do have that also
- 32:44Speaker 1: as filler for this episode is like all of the
- 32:48Speaker 1: scenes of the two of them together. The one thing
- 32:51Speaker 1: I'll say for the flashbacks is because I'm watching in
- 32:59Speaker 1: dub now when I had been watching the sub only before,
- 33:03Speaker 1: it's kind of fun to see those scenes with the dub.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Now it's just a different you know, it's a very
- 33:10Speaker 1: different vibe, and so that in itself is there's like
- 33:15Speaker 1: I was watching it and I had a moment of like,
- 33:18Speaker 1: why is this so much funnier than I remember? And
- 33:21Speaker 1: then I realized that's why it was the dub, and
- 33:23Speaker 1: the delivery of the line is part of what makes
- 33:27Speaker 1: this work so well. And when it's just the sub,
- 33:31Speaker 1: that delivery gets lost, you know, that kind of intonation,
- 33:36Speaker 1: And so watching it as the dub is it hits
- 33:41Speaker 1: a lot better for me. So at the moment when
- 33:47Speaker 1: he's explaining to Loofy why he doesn't fight back against Alvida,
- 33:52Speaker 1: and Lufy's like, so, you're an idiot and a coward.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I really hate people like you. But he says it
- 33:59Speaker 1: with the big smile on his face. I remember thinking
- 34:03Speaker 1: that line was really funny to begin with in the sub,
- 34:07Speaker 1: but hearing it is just way funnier, and I just
- 34:14Speaker 1: I don't know, anyway, I just wanted to mention that
- 34:17Speaker 1: and Kobe obviously having this big reaction. Oh, Florian says
- 34:25Speaker 1: Kobe is a captain now, by the way, it's the
- 34:26Speaker 1: first time we see him after the time Skip I
- 34:30Speaker 1: did not catch that, thank you, Florian. But Kobe is,
- 34:37Speaker 1: you know, emotional over this article about Loofy, and everyone
- 34:43Speaker 1: on the ship is like, oh, are you friends with him?
- 34:47Speaker 1: And he gets very uptight because you know, he's a
- 34:49Speaker 1: marine and he's not supposed to be buddies with a
- 34:52Speaker 1: fucking pirate. So he's like, no, what, we're foes. There
- 34:59Speaker 1: was something about the way he says were foes that
- 35:04Speaker 1: was so weird and it was just extra hilarious for
- 35:08Speaker 1: this reason. And all I could think here was about
- 35:13Speaker 1: Garp and gold Roger and the fact that, like it's
- 35:18Speaker 1: clear they were friends, and when gold Roger was executed,
- 35:24Speaker 1: it was done because he was dying anyway, and this
- 35:29Speaker 1: was like going to help Garp if it was done
- 35:33Speaker 1: this way. But they were obviously like buds. And I'm
- 35:38Speaker 1: just seeing kolbe get older and eventually turn into a
- 35:42Speaker 1: Garp and having to deal with this extremely powerful icon
- 35:51Speaker 1: who he knew back when, and just you know, that
- 35:56Speaker 1: is that is complicated. That is a tough, really relationship.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I would love to go back in time and see
- 36:02Speaker 1: Garp's origins with Roger and like exactly how all that happened.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Seraphim says, oh, yeah, Kobe is so Loofy's garb. Yeah.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So eventually, like everybody, because he keeps denying it, and
- 36:22Speaker 1: then they say something else about how like he's in
- 36:24Speaker 1: this article too, and immediately Kobe's like, oh he is,
- 36:27Speaker 1: and they're like see, but yeah, we can tell your
- 36:30Speaker 1: friends with him it's fine because he just really thinks
- 36:33Speaker 1: that it's a bad look. But he doesn't understand that
- 36:36Speaker 1: the people he's talking to know lufy oh lufy a lot,
- 36:40Speaker 1: and they would understand if even as a marine, you
- 36:45Speaker 1: kind of like this dude because he isn't like the
- 36:47Speaker 1: kind of pirate that just wreaks havoc and takes from people.
- 36:51Speaker 1: He's out here helping and he helped us, and I
- 36:54Speaker 1: think you know that he does that, and I am
- 36:58Speaker 1: interested because, like, you know, it's it's the title of
- 37:02Speaker 1: the third of these episodes is the Reverie, because they're
- 37:06Speaker 1: all still heading there. We get the Reverie mentioned many
- 37:10Speaker 1: many episodes ago, and everybody starting to head out to this,
- 37:14Speaker 1: so it's, uh, you know, these episodes as they pass
- 37:19Speaker 1: are like each covering five minutes of time really, so
- 37:23Speaker 1: the fact that people are still heading there makes sense
- 37:25Speaker 1: in universe with the time passage. But it's just funny
- 37:29Speaker 1: because when we come back to this, I had forgotten
- 37:32Speaker 1: that this was going on, that we were like going
- 37:35Speaker 1: to have essentially what sounds like a summit.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I now am extremely curious exactly how this all is
- 37:44Speaker 1: going to go down, because like my expectation is that
- 37:48Speaker 1: somehow the straw hats end up there, which I don't
- 37:51Speaker 1: know how that would even happen, but I feel like
- 37:57Speaker 1: the like having something where everybody has gathered together, but
- 38:02Speaker 1: then the straw hats don't go there, and it all
- 38:06Speaker 1: happens like kind of I won't say off screen because
- 38:09Speaker 1: I feel like we would see it, but it wouldn't
- 38:13Speaker 1: actually involve the straw hats directly. Would be a little
- 38:18Speaker 1: bit unsatisfying. But I also can't think why they would
- 38:23Speaker 1: go there, except maybe like Loofy sees somebody that is
- 38:28Speaker 1: a friend and familiar heading in a certain direction and
- 38:31Speaker 1: just goes, let's go there. Let's go where they're going.
- 38:33Speaker 1: You know, I do not know. I also have to mention,
- 38:39Speaker 1: like the whole thing with Morgan saying Loofy won and
- 38:44Speaker 1: Big Mom lost is due to the fact that like
- 38:48Speaker 1: they get away, they get outside of the boundaries of
- 38:53Speaker 1: Mom's territory, which Monduur is like really really agitated. Don't
- 39:00Speaker 1: let them past it. If we get if they get
- 39:02Speaker 1: past the boundary, we are screwed. And it's sort of
- 39:06Speaker 1: funny because like, even if they hadn't gotten past the boundary,
- 39:10Speaker 1: it seems like they'd be screwed anyway. That all of
- 39:14Speaker 1: this stuff got published by Morgan's already and it was
- 39:19Speaker 1: too late to put that cat back in the bag.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But regardless, I had, like I kept losing sight of
- 39:28Speaker 1: the fact that their reputation was on the line here,
- 39:32Speaker 1: that it wasn't simply like a matter of pride. It's
- 39:36Speaker 1: a matter of we can't let people think that will
- 39:40Speaker 1: be beaten by a fucking kid nobody, because then what
- 39:47Speaker 1: everybody's gonna try and come at us. And so that's
- 39:51Speaker 1: another thing that I'm interested in seeing is like do
- 39:54Speaker 1: people begin to react to the fact that Big Mom
- 39:58Speaker 1: got like, you know, you know, punked. Essentially, are folks
- 40:03Speaker 1: gonna come out of the woodwork and be like, huh,
- 40:06Speaker 1: interesting a whole island of chocolate, you say, don't mind
- 40:11Speaker 1: it do and decide to like really start some shit
- 40:14Speaker 1: with her. Because I could understand that and a big
- 40:20Speaker 1: mom is still like, I think part of the reason
- 40:26Speaker 1: that they get away is simply because she goes into
- 40:28Speaker 1: this like fugue craving state, and even though that makes
- 40:31Speaker 1: her so dangerous, it also like it makes it easy
- 40:34Speaker 1: to control her by putting in her path something that
- 40:37Speaker 1: will distract her. But just being like, oh, they only
- 40:42Speaker 1: got away because she did this well, but she does that, like,
- 40:47Speaker 1: she'll do that again. It's only a matter of time
- 40:49Speaker 1: before she goes back into one of her cravings, and
- 40:53Speaker 1: so maybe people will begin to take advantage of that.
- 40:58Speaker 1: There's also the whole thing with German Double six and
- 41:03Speaker 1: the fact that, like, you know, they were going to
- 41:07Speaker 1: be part of this and now aren't. And we have
- 41:10Speaker 1: like one of those cans on the sunny and Sanji
- 41:16Speaker 1: just like like is like, I'm gonna throw this bitch overboard,
- 41:20Speaker 1: and Louvi's like, don't do that, because Lovie's sort of
- 41:22Speaker 1: enchanted with this whole superhero idea weirdly, and he swears
- 41:30Speaker 1: that if Sanchi throws it overboard, he's gonna go get it,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and Sanchi's like, you can't fucking swim, dude, Go ahead
- 41:35Speaker 1: and try, saraph him says, And even if it's not
- 41:39Speaker 1: upstart pirates thinking they can take on the big dogs now,
- 41:42Speaker 1: there are still three other emperors already at her level
- 41:45Speaker 1: that might jump on a chance to take a shot
- 41:48Speaker 1: at her. Yeah, like it just would be potentially uh
- 41:52Speaker 1: what do they call that? Open season? So so anyway, uh,
- 42:00Speaker 1: German dollar six remaining is something that I'm I really
- 42:07Speaker 1: can't like decide how I feel about. They helped us out,
- 42:12Speaker 1: but his father is a piece of shit. They're doing
- 42:16Speaker 1: this weird eugenic stuff. It's just like they feel like
- 42:24Speaker 1: a bug that we're gonna have to crush at some point.
- 42:28Speaker 1: And I understand why we can't. I understand why Sanji
- 42:33Speaker 1: wouldn't want to even after he was treated the way
- 42:36Speaker 1: he was. They're his family, and like that's a difficult thing,
- 42:40Speaker 1: you know. But I don't love the fact that it
- 42:44Speaker 1: seems like they get to just sail off and pick
- 42:48Speaker 1: up the pieces. Now, you know, I'm I wish that
- 42:53Speaker 1: at least Judge have been killed. And if people are
- 42:56Speaker 1: gonna pick up the pieces, it's going to be Sonji's brothers,
- 42:59Speaker 1: who like are not better people because they have no
- 43:02Speaker 1: emotions and so they are definitely fucked up, and they're
- 43:05Speaker 1: going to probably do something fucked up. But I just
- 43:11Speaker 1: dislike Judge in a specific way that I think he
- 43:14Speaker 1: shouldn't be alive anymore. What his brothers wind up doing
- 43:18Speaker 1: is a separate issue, and I want Judge to suffer
- 43:24Speaker 1: some fucking consequences, And it seems like the most the
- 43:29Speaker 1: consequence that we're getting is simply their reputation being damaged
- 43:33Speaker 1: because they almost got got because it was a close
- 43:36Speaker 1: thing for them as well. Not enough in my opinion.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I want Judge dead, and maybe I'll get it someday,
- 43:45Speaker 1: but not yet. Let's see Florian says, do they get
- 43:52Speaker 1: to sail off? Last we saw was Mom arriving in
- 43:54Speaker 1: Jimbay and Germans sixty six looking like, well shit, let's
- 43:57Speaker 1: buckle up everybody here she comes. Well, yeah, it's not
- 44:02Speaker 1: like when I say sail off into the sunset. I
- 44:05Speaker 1: mean like that they are with Chiambay, that they're in
- 44:10Speaker 1: a position where they could be escaping, and that they're
- 44:14Speaker 1: that whatever was going to happen to them didn't happen already.
- 44:18Speaker 1: While we were in the in the big battle to
- 44:20Speaker 1: get the straw hats away, I was hoping that Judge
- 44:24Speaker 1: was going to die while our people were still there,
- 44:29Speaker 1: and it would be like a moment of a kind
- 44:34Speaker 1: of closure for Sanji, you know what I mean. I
- 44:37Speaker 1: was hoping for it to be like, not exactly, because
- 44:40Speaker 1: I have no illusions about if Judge dies that on
- 44:44Speaker 1: his deathbed, if Sanji is there, he's gonna suddenly be like,
- 44:47Speaker 1: I'm so sorry I mistreated you, because like, no, he's not.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Judge would never say that, but I would have liked
- 44:54Speaker 1: it to be we're doing our thing, taking on these
- 45:00Speaker 1: people to cover so that you guys can get away
- 45:04Speaker 1: with the plan that we are then going to turn
- 45:06Speaker 1: and run too, and then they get ganked or Judge
- 45:11Speaker 1: goes down and it's just his brothers and sisters that
- 45:14Speaker 1: manage to like escape somehow, and Judge maybe gets eaten
- 45:21Speaker 1: by Big Mom while she's in the midst of her
- 45:24Speaker 1: hunger payings. You know, that'd be kind of fun. I
- 45:27Speaker 1: wouldn't mind that type of very undignified death for him.
- 45:34Speaker 1: But it's more the fact that like they're getting to
- 45:38Speaker 1: take a stand in a we're the wronged heroes sort
- 45:44Speaker 1: of vibe that I'm just like, I don't like this.
- 45:50Speaker 1: It's giving you too much credit. I don't know if
- 45:54Speaker 1: that's the word I want, but ooh, sorry, guys, it's
- 45:59Speaker 1: a really intense thunderstorm here. It's been all day. Our
- 46:03Speaker 1: electricity flickered earlier, and I was worried that I was
- 46:06Speaker 1: not going to be able to record, but it seems
- 46:08Speaker 1: like everything is holding steady. But yeah, the thunder down
- 46:10Speaker 1: here is no joke. And even when I have like
- 46:13Speaker 1: the background sound dampening on, it can sometimes come through.
- 46:16Speaker 1: So sorry, if you hear that, it's a it's not
- 46:19Speaker 1: my fault. Blame God, all right. So I'm just like
- 46:24Speaker 1: trying to make sure that I, uh managed to like
- 46:29Speaker 1: cover everything because they're the way that these episodes are structured.
- 46:33Speaker 1: It's really difficult because there are such long sections that
- 46:37Speaker 1: are just flashbacks, and then we'll suddenly go into something new,
- 46:41Speaker 1: and then we'll go back into another flashback, and you know,
- 46:44Speaker 1: YadA YadA, Oh my god, Okay, right, I forgot about
- 46:50Speaker 1: uh uh Loofy Chopper is the one who tells Loofy
- 47:00Speaker 1: that the canister is the thing that the German double
- 47:03Speaker 1: six uses to transform. Like Lufy doesn't even realize that's
- 47:07Speaker 1: what it is. He just has one in his pocket
- 47:11Speaker 1: and they try to use it, so let's see. Yeah,
- 47:16Speaker 1: he says that he hates science and it's use like that.
- 47:20Speaker 1: And this is when Nami chimes in and it's like,
- 47:24Speaker 1: did I hear you shit talking science? And I love
- 47:28Speaker 1: this bit of Soanji coming back, the Sanji that we
- 47:32Speaker 1: know and love, where he immediately is like, oh no, no, no, no,
- 47:39Speaker 1: what do you mean I love I love science? And
- 47:41Speaker 1: she's just like, yeah, you fucking better because my climate
- 47:44Speaker 1: tack thing is built with science. That's the way it works.
- 47:49Speaker 1: And then she has Zeus come out of her wand
- 47:54Speaker 1: and it's just like, this is my new servant. I
- 47:58Speaker 1: should have realized the way this was gonna go, but
- 48:02Speaker 1: I'm very silly, and so I didn't think.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Of it.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Because like her having Zeus be a servant, it was
- 48:12Speaker 1: already established that Zeus is fine with it. Zeus is
- 48:18Speaker 1: more than happy. You know. I'm still over here thinking
- 48:21Speaker 1: that he's going to be resentful of it or something.
- 48:26Speaker 1: And then the fact that like Sanji wants nothing more
- 48:30Speaker 1: than to be no me slave, of course he's gonna
- 48:33Speaker 1: be jealous, right, So instantly Son, she's like, he's your
- 48:37Speaker 1: what are you serious? And he says he tries to
- 48:43Speaker 1: like make some claim about how he is better than Zeus,
- 48:48Speaker 1: and Zeus is like, well, yeah, but I'm stored inside
- 48:52Speaker 1: this thing that she carries by her side all day
- 48:57Speaker 1: every day and just looks at Sanji like top of
- 49:02Speaker 1: that bitch, And Sanji gets like genuinely pissed and starts
- 49:08Speaker 1: to yell at him, and Brooke cuts in and he
- 49:11Speaker 1: says something like, Soanji, you're yelling at a collection of
- 49:16Speaker 1: water vapor. I fell out so bad. Again, it's the delivery.
- 49:23Speaker 1: It's the delivery. But something about saying it like that,
- 49:29Speaker 1: you're yelling at a collection of water vapor is very humiliating, Sanji.
- 49:37Speaker 1: This is your competition and you're mad about it. It's
- 49:40Speaker 1: a cloud. You need to get a grip, sir. There's
- 49:44Speaker 1: also the moment where Sanji offers to make food and
- 49:48Speaker 1: everybody flips out and is just like he is saying,
- 49:52Speaker 1: what the hell were you doing without me? Like how
- 49:55Speaker 1: were you getting by well poorly? Sir? Like you know,
- 49:59Speaker 1: they were living on hot pockets and ramen. That's what happens,
- 50:06Speaker 1: oh right, Florian in the chat says, Kara and Sanji
- 50:11Speaker 1: also talk about Pedro at the very beginning thoughts is
- 50:14Speaker 1: he dead? I really want to say that he's not dead,
- 50:18Speaker 1: because it just doesn't seem like that happens on this show.
- 50:21Speaker 2: But like.
- 50:23Speaker 1: I would have thought, if he weren't dead, we'd have
- 50:28Speaker 1: seen him by now, so I feel like he is.
- 50:33Speaker 1: If it turns out he's not, I will I will
- 50:35Speaker 1: be surprised, despite myself. You know, there will be a
- 50:40Speaker 1: part of me that's like I should have fucking known.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Of course he wasn't dead, but I think it's just
- 50:46Speaker 1: been such a long time for this reveal to happen.
- 50:49Speaker 1: If it does happen, that I'll be taken off guard
- 50:51Speaker 1: by it. I really don't know what to expect if
- 50:55Speaker 1: he did turn out to be alive. If it would
- 50:58Speaker 1: be like he managed to crawl off somewhere and hide,
- 51:05Speaker 1: but he's hideously injured, Or if it's going to be
- 51:08Speaker 1: like he was injured and found still alive by his
- 51:11Speaker 1: enemies and they have imprisoned him. Or did he like
- 51:16Speaker 1: somehow manage to fake his death and he has been
- 51:19Speaker 1: up to something this entire time. I don't know how
- 51:22Speaker 1: that would go. I don't really prefer any of those
- 51:26Speaker 1: outcomes over any others, so I'm open, but it does
- 51:31Speaker 1: feel like he's dead. I don't know, Sarah him says,
- 51:36Speaker 1: I love the scene between Sonjy and Carrot. I yeah,
- 51:41Speaker 1: I forgot to talk about that scene. I'll be honest.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I I was a little like, I don't know if
- 51:51Speaker 1: it's just the delivery or if it's just the way
- 51:54Speaker 1: Sanji is. But he just like goes, well, that's a shame.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Oop.
- 52:00Speaker 1: My power just went out after saying that. Guys, SANCHI
- 52:05Speaker 1: just he underreacts so much to the news that I
- 52:08Speaker 1: was kind of like Jesus, you know, I felt a
- 52:12Speaker 1: little bit irritated at him for the fact that he
- 52:15Speaker 1: was so like even keeled about it, especially considering that
- 52:21Speaker 1: it's Carrot who told him. And I would always feel
- 52:25Speaker 1: like if I'm facing somebody that I know was super
- 52:28Speaker 1: close with the person they are telling me just died,
- 52:33Speaker 1: that I would want to have more of a reaction
- 52:36Speaker 1: to sort of like validate their feelings, you know, and
- 52:39Speaker 1: not insult them somehow. But he thinks about, like and
- 52:46Speaker 1: says out loud a couple of different things that indicate like, well,
- 52:51Speaker 1: maybe I could have done something, and Carrot stops him
- 52:55Speaker 1: and is like, don't think about it like that, don't
- 52:59Speaker 1: carry that burden. Just be thankful because he saved our
- 53:03Speaker 1: lives and if it weren't for him, we would never
- 53:09Speaker 1: have been able to get away. It was for the best,
- 53:13Speaker 1: it was and us escaping is what he wanted. So
- 53:18Speaker 1: just be grateful. And it is very much giving her
- 53:23Speaker 1: telling herself this and trying to because obviously in her
- 53:29Speaker 1: own mind she is going to have a lot of
- 53:31Speaker 1: these same exact thoughts, you know. And yeah, I am
- 53:36Speaker 1: always a fan of that kind of subtlety in a
- 53:39Speaker 1: scene where somebody is telling somebody a piece of advice
- 53:44Speaker 1: and you can feel that this is like projection. Projection
- 53:51Speaker 1: might not be fair because that usually implies that the
- 53:53Speaker 1: person who is feeling it has no idea they are
- 53:56Speaker 1: feeling that same thing. And I think Carrot does know
- 53:59Speaker 1: she's feeling the same thing. But you get what I'm saying.
- 54:04Speaker 1: So like, yeah, I with Pedro, I really keep like
- 54:10Speaker 1: low key expecting him to turn back up. But now
- 54:14Speaker 1: that everybody has like gotten away, well, I say everybody,
- 54:18Speaker 1: Jimbay is still there and like they were people, they
- 54:22Speaker 1: knew each other, so it's possible if he is revealed
- 54:25Speaker 1: to still be alive, it'd be through Jembay. I don't know, hm,
- 54:31Speaker 1: perhaps so. Oh, and there's also this princess that's being
- 54:40Speaker 1: held hostage. Guys, this thing was very confusing to me.
- 54:48Speaker 1: I'm just remembering this plot line at all, and I
- 54:51Speaker 1: don't even remember it well enough to like talk about
- 54:54Speaker 1: it because I can't. She's she eventually gets rescued and
- 54:58Speaker 1: she's like kicking the shit out of theates that had
- 55:00Speaker 1: her hostage. But uh, I can't remember this girl's name
- 55:05Speaker 1: or anything. Florian says, the underwater pirates already had a princess, Okay,
- 55:13Speaker 1: the ones with the right, right, right, That's what it was.
- 55:17Speaker 1: And so when eventually they are taken out, she is
- 55:21Speaker 1: able to beat the shit out of them, which I
- 55:23Speaker 1: think it's a maybe Kincobra who's just like, hey, girl,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I get it, but like tone it down a little
- 55:30Speaker 1: bit because she is very very angry. Don't blame her
- 55:34Speaker 1: one little bit. And let's see, I'm trying to just
- 55:42Speaker 1: scrub through and make sure. Sorry, guys, I just like
- 55:45Speaker 1: I said, the way that everything is told is so
- 55:48Speaker 1: spread out that it's a little bit like it's a
- 55:55Speaker 1: bit difficult for me to make sure that I'm not
- 55:58Speaker 1: missing anything because I can't just go beat by beat
- 56:01Speaker 1: because so much of this is flashbacks. Let's see, Oh right,
- 56:07Speaker 1: I forgot about Kayuto, who sees that Lufy is being
- 56:13Speaker 1: called like the emperor an Emperor of the sea, and
- 56:17Speaker 1: is like, how the fuck did he manage that? And
- 56:22Speaker 1: Blackbeard is also just like this, it's pretty early to
- 56:26Speaker 1: say this about him, and I've forgotten all about Kayuto.
- 56:31Speaker 1: That guy sucks so bad. I really don't like him.
- 56:35Speaker 1: But everybody being like it's a little early to say
- 56:39Speaker 1: this about Lufy, I agree with actually, like you guys
- 56:43Speaker 1: know a mom my boy's side here, but it does
- 56:46Speaker 1: feel premature to be saying this about him. A part
- 56:49Speaker 1: of me like, because the way the big mom is
- 56:51Speaker 1: interpreting this, understandably from her point of view, is like, oh,
- 56:55Speaker 1: this is just to fuck up my reputation. But there's
- 56:58Speaker 1: another part of me that's like, this also just really
- 57:00Speaker 1: paints a target on movies back. And I don't know
- 57:03Speaker 1: if Morgan's doing that on purpose or if he's just
- 57:07Speaker 1: not really like caring about that consequence. Who knows, but uh,
- 57:14Speaker 1: you know, I Florian says, Oh, yeah, Morgan's just wanted
- 57:18Speaker 1: to generate headlines. He's low key click baiting, which makes
- 57:23Speaker 1: a lot of sense, and Florian also says, well, we
- 57:27Speaker 1: are at the end of the whole cake arc final thoughts.
- 57:31Speaker 1: I'm sad that it's over. I really liked this one.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I really did. Even though you would think Big Bomb's
- 57:39Speaker 1: rampage going on for so long would get boring, they
- 57:42Speaker 1: managed to do so many other things and it isn't
- 57:47Speaker 1: even about battling her. It's about making a cake. I mean,
- 57:53Speaker 1: come on, it's like nothing could be more in my
- 57:56Speaker 1: fucking wheelhouse. I still maintain that the fact that we're
- 58:01Speaker 1: like fifty grams of butter short and Sanji saying replace
- 58:07Speaker 1: it with prunes is psychotic, like just no. But you know,
- 58:14Speaker 1: it's fine, and I'm kind of glad the way it
- 58:21Speaker 1: ends like Big Mom is still around. You know, she's
- 58:24Speaker 1: not defeated and all of her people are pretty much
- 58:28Speaker 1: undefeated as well. So probably we're going to like revisit
- 58:33Speaker 1: a lot of this at some point, which I think
- 58:36Speaker 1: could be really fun, depending how it's done, you know.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Florian says, yeah, we all thought you would enjoy this arc.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Glad to be right. I'm glad you were right too.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Sarah FM says, also the epic rant about how crap
- 58:51Speaker 1: store bought butter cream frosting is listen. There was a
- 58:55Speaker 1: whole conversation in one of the Dressden Files episodes, like
- 58:59Speaker 1: chats I think about barbecue because Rashan and I were
- 59:02Speaker 1: talking about it, and Bernadette, who commissions a lot of
- 59:07Speaker 1: these episodes, was in there to agree with me about
- 59:11Speaker 1: like American desserts just being so fucking sweet, overly sweet.
- 59:16Speaker 1: It's crazy. Anyway, We won't get on that because I
- 59:20Speaker 1: don't have time, but I feel how I feel, all right, Well,
- 59:26Speaker 1: thank you guys again so much, and I'm sad. I
- 59:31Speaker 1: really am sad. I just enjoyed this so much. I'm
- 59:35Speaker 1: still going to try and make those cakes, so stay
- 59:38Speaker 1: tuned for that. I'm gonna post about it, probably in
- 59:43Speaker 1: the like discord when I do it. Looking forward to
- 59:47Speaker 1: trying it all right, don't.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Know, motherfuckers.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: That was an Unspoiled Network podcast
