- 2:30It's been a crazy, crazy weekend.
- 2:32It really has been. It's been back and forth.
- 2:35The weather, it's raining. I was over there in Salem, MA
- 2:40for for Saturday. It was interesting.
- 2:42The weather was up and down it. It drizzled a little bit.
- 2:46The clouds were out. The sun was out.
- 2:48It was in its 50s. I actually like the weather.
- 2:50Brittany did not. Jabba was hanging out at the
- 2:53Nebraska game and hanging out because his World Series buddies
- 2:58were out and about celebrating their 20th anniversary.
- 3:02So I'm sure Jabba has some some stories.
- 3:05It's been crazy. It really has been.
- 3:07And it hasn't been a let down with sports because as you heard
- 3:11from fish, The Jets won their first game of the season.
- 3:15They're not won in seven. The Giants lose cams catapult,
- 3:19but they still lose and, and again, The Jets are still
- 3:22sitting at #1 if the season were to end today, The Jets still
- 3:27draft that one, even winning on Sunday.
- 3:30But and then you have the Dodgers, the Dodgers and the
- 3:33Blue Jays. I, I picked the Blue Jays to win
- 3:36this series in seven games. I just wanted to go that route
- 3:39and hopefully go seven games because no matter what happens,
- 3:43what happens, it will be fun all the way through because you
- 3:47would love to see a Canadian team when you would love to see
- 3:50an American League team win, even I do.
- 3:54I want to see, I want to see a Canadian team win that the last
- 3:57time we seen a Canadian team win was 93.
- 4:00It's been a long time, so why not see a Canadian team win?
- 4:03And I, and again, I want to see the Blue Jays win because I
- 4:07can't stand the Los Angeles Dodgers.
- 4:10So I don't like the deferred money.
- 4:12I can't stand share with Tony. So you know, I, so my, my goal
- 4:18here is to root on root on the one and only Blue Jays all the
- 4:23way through. And we'll get into that heading
- 4:24into tonight's game and game three, the Los Angeles YES
- 4:29Dodgers and the World Series between the Dodgers and the Blue
- 4:33Jays is all tied up one game apiece.
- 4:36The Blue Jays struck first and took game #111 to 4 after
- 4:41scoring nine runs in six innings off with Dodgers relief Dalton,
- 4:46Alejandro Kirk and Addison Barger.
- 4:49A Pinchick Grand Slam all homered.
- 4:51Game 2 was a different story. The Dodgers starting pitcher
- 4:56Yamamoto threw his second straight complete game in the
- 5:00playoffs, shutting out and shutting down Toronto 5 to one
- 5:04in a victory, allowing only one run and four hits with eight
- 5:08strikeouts. It is the first complete game in
- 5:11the World Series since Johnny Cueto did it with the Royals in
- 5:142015 and the first back-to-back complete games in the playoffs
- 5:19since Kurt Schilling did it three times in a row for the
- 5:232001 Diamondbacks. I know Javados, I want to hear
- 5:26about that. Game three starts shortly with
- 5:29Max Scherzer. Yes, the great Scherzer getting
- 5:33to the start for the Blue Jays and Tyler Glass now for the
- 5:36Dodgers as the next three games will take place tonight,
- 5:41tomorrow and Wednesday all at Dodger Stadium before heading
- 5:46back to Toronto for game six, Game 7 if necessary.
- 5:51We can go back and forth on this series and what we think is
- 5:53going to happen. I expect this series to go six
- 5:57or seven games. I think that the Blue Jays have
- 5:59enough offense and we haven't really seen the best of
- 6:02Bichette. Now Bichette comes back.
- 6:04He has been really 80% at best, maybe 75%.
- 6:09We heard Bichette say it doesn't matter where he is at.
- 6:11I, I heard his press conference after game #1 and he's, they
- 6:15asked him where do you see yourself?
- 6:16And he says, what does it matter?
- 6:18I'm up. I'm going to go up to the plate
- 6:20and I'm going to swing at the ball.
- 6:21It doesn't matter if I'm 100%. It doesn't matter if I'm 70%.
- 6:24I'm going to be up there and I'm going to try to hit the ball as
- 6:26hard as I possibly can. So we all know that Bichette is
- 6:29going to go out there and speak freely on who he is and what he
- 6:33is capable of doing in in a game.
- 6:35But the fact is, we haven't seen the best of Otani yet.
- 6:40We haven't seen the best of Mookie Betts or Friedman yet in
- 6:43this series. The offense of the Dodgers has
- 6:45not been very good in this series.
- 6:47Now in game number 2, they had a couple home runs and they pulled
- 6:51off a win 5:00 to 1:00, but they didn't dominate like the Blue
- 6:55Jays did in game #1 And I'm going to tell you this right
- 6:58now, if the Dodgers do not hit for over 7 or eight runs in
- 7:05every single game, this Blue Jays team is going to be in
- 7:08every single one of these games. This is a good offensive team.
- 7:12You saw what they did against the Yankees.
- 7:14You saw what they did against the Mariners.
- 7:16Coming back from the Mariners deficit. 2O2O this is a good
- 7:20team. This is a very confident team.
- 7:22This is a team that has the ability to put up big runs and
- 7:26and dominate in the later innings.
- 7:28We've seen the offense that this Blue Jays team could pick at
- 7:32pick a par pitching and they did it again.
- 7:35They did it against Max Freed. They did it against every one of
- 7:39the Yankees as Schlittler. They did it against all the
- 7:43arrow Don. I remember that because I
- 7:45watched those games pretty, you know, pretty consistently from
- 7:48inning to inning, pitch by pitch, inning by inning.
- 7:52This is a good offense. They're hitting on all
- 7:55cylinders. And usually when this happens,
- 7:57you ask the Texas Rangers, when they're hitting on all
- 8:00cylinders, they're very hard to beat.
- 8:02I remember against the Arizona Diamondbacks a couple of years
- 8:06ago, the Texas Rangers and they got good pitching.
- 8:09Obviously they got really quality pitching from an ex Y2
- 8:14ex Yankees in that, in that rotation, but it was their
- 8:17offense. It was the the providing offense
- 8:20that they got extra innings from their shortstop, their second
- 8:24baseman and they're outfield. They had a tremendous amount of
- 8:27offense in the World Series. And I think that was the reason
- 8:31why they beat the Diamondbacks and they got good pitching as
- 8:34well. I'm not going to lie about that.
- 8:35You need pitching, but you need offense.
- 8:37And, and again, the Dodgers have both with the the, the, the
- 8:42money that they have invested, the deferred money, they have
- 8:44invested in every single one of these players.
- 8:47And again, everybody's going to bring up Otania, what he did to
- 8:51close out the way he did against the Brewers, hitting the three
- 8:55home runs, the 10 strikeouts, the six innings world beater and
- 9:00winning the the National League MVP heading into the World
- 9:04Series. The fact here is, career wise,
- 9:08Otania is a career 200 hitter in the playoffs.
- 9:11He is not a great hitter in the playoffs.
- 9:13Now, that doesn't take away his greatness.
- 9:16That doesn't take away what he can do on a foot, on a base, on
- 9:19a baseball field. It doesn't mean that he can't go
- 9:22up and pitch in extra innings if they need pitching.
- 9:25If if he's going to start in any of these games, he is going to
- 9:28be quite capable of striking out the side, pitching 10 strikeouts
- 9:33in a game. He's that type of player.
- 9:35The fact here is this, this series was practically called
- 9:40off. It was pretty about pretty much
- 9:42over before the series even started.
- 9:44Everybody had the Dodgers winning this series in five
- 9:47games. And after the Blue Jays won game
- 9:51one, I don't think it's going to be that easy.
- 9:54And, and the Blue Jays had a chance to win game #2 as a
- 9:58matter of fact, it was 11 going into the 7th inning.
- 10:02The Blue Jays pitching is been quality.
- 10:04It's not like they've been dominated.
- 10:07And, and the Dodgers have been dominating at the plate.
- 10:10They have not been, they have not been hitting as much as we
- 10:14thought they were going to in this series like they did
- 10:17against the Yankees. They completely dominated the
- 10:19Yankees offensively last year. The Yankees could not compete
- 10:24with the Dodgers offensively. As a matter of fact, Freeman
- 10:27killed the Yankees last year. Mookie Betts, when he got a
- 10:30chance to hit and he was hitting, he killed the Yankees.
- 10:33Oh, Donnie couldn't kill the Yankees because Donnie couldn't
- 10:35hit against anybody in the playoffs last year except in the
- 10:39first. I think the first series he was
- 10:41actually hitting close to 400. These teams are very well
- 10:46matched, matched very well throughout this series.
- 10:50I do believe this series could go six or seven games.
- 10:53I don't think it goes five. I think the Blue Jays have too
- 10:57much confidence in the players that they have right now, too
- 11:01much ability with guys like Vladimir Guerrero that can play,
- 11:05play offensively, sound the way he has throughout the playoffs,
- 11:09hitting 347 in the ALCS and winning and and winning the
- 11:14American League MVP going into the World Series.
- 11:17And then you see what the the Dodgers can give, especially in
- 11:21the middle of this lineup and really throughout this lineup.
- 11:25I, I just think that this is very evenly matched.
- 11:28I didn't, I know a lot of experts did not believe it was
- 11:30going to be evenly matched. I also believe that the pitching
- 11:35is very evenly matched to even though the names don't really
- 11:39cross over to say, oh, when you look at Dalton for show and then
- 11:43you look at guys like Otani or Yamamoto or any of these guys,
- 11:47Glass now or Snell. These guys are all world MVP Cy
- 11:51Young winners. If you look at it, Otani, this
- 11:55is every year. He's a borderline Cy Young
- 11:57winners. Snell is 1.
- 11:58Cy Young's glass now has been up for a Cy Young in the American
- 12:02League. We've seen this.
- 12:04Yamamoto has been a consistent pitcher since he's come into the
- 12:07league, especially in the second-half of his career.
- 12:10He's been in the league for how many years?
- 12:122-3 years? He he doesn't really start off
- 12:14very strong in the beginning of the season and then in the
- 12:17second-half of the season, the guy's a completely different
- 12:19pitcher. So we, we know what the Dodgers
- 12:23can provide offensively and defensively.
- 12:25We know what they can provide offensively.
- 12:28But again, it's not a surprise with the Dodgers.
- 12:31It has been a surprise with the Blue Jays throughout the
- 12:34playoffs. Nobody.
- 12:35I had so many New York guys tell me, especially broadcasters that
- 12:39I spoke off air and listen to their shows that as soon as the
- 12:42Yankees and our Judge hit that three run home run and the
- 12:45Yankees won that game, that the series was over.
- 12:47And I said, what do you wait a second?
- 12:49The Yankees win a game the series over the Blue Jays were
- 12:52up two to one when that happened.
- 12:54So I, I, I didn't get that. And and I I took shots at a lot
- 12:58of broad, you know, analysts and broadcasters a year in New York
- 13:02for what they said because they thought the Blue Jays are a
- 13:05choke artist organization. They don't they don't really
- 13:07provide enough offense to get over the hump.
- 13:10But this is a different Blue Jays team.
- 13:12They proved it in the Mariners series when they were down to
- 13:15oh, and we, they have the board and we know what the Mariners
- 13:19have. They have one of the best
- 13:20couches in Cal Raleigh and probably an MVP or maybe MVP
- 13:24candidate because I've already told you Aaron Judge is winning
- 13:27it. Everything that I've heard, he's
- 13:28going to come away with most of the first ballot voting, voting
- 13:34for first ballot MVP. So I, I think that obviously
- 13:39when you look at this series, if you can go back and forth on
- 13:42who's going to provide the, the offense.
- 13:45I, we have again, we haven't seen enough of Freedmen.
- 13:48We haven't seen enough of Mookie Betts yet.
- 13:50I think we're going to, we haven't seen the best of the
- 13:52Dodgers. So what we want to see is the
- 13:54Blue Jays figure it out and get this series back to Toronto in
- 14:01Game 6 and game seven. I think the advantage goes to
- 14:04the Blue Jays if they have the home field advantage of the Blue
- 14:06Jays are very hard to beat in Toronto.
- 14:08And if they could keep this series three to two, maybe them
- 14:13or even three to two, the Dodgers and you go back home and
- 14:17you have the last two games at home, the advantage definitely
- 14:20goes to the the Blue Jays. You were talking about different
- 14:22teams that have made the World Series recently.
- 14:24And I think of one of the common themes you see and you brought
- 14:27up the the Royals too in 2015 is a lineup that doesn't have.
- 14:30Any Well, I brought up Johnny Cueto.
- 14:31Right, but there was a common thing.
- 14:33Jabba Chamberlain he was a part of.
- 14:34That I know. And there's a common theme where
- 14:36those those teams don't have easy outs in their lineup.
- 14:39I think besides Arizona, like all the other teams you brought
- 14:41up, maybe they're 89 hitters might have been, but like every
- 14:45other team did not have an easy out.
- 14:46And I think the Blue Jays are kind of justifying that where
- 14:49when they score, they score in bunches.
- 14:50And I always said the Dodgers pro season kryptonite has
- 14:53usually been the middle of the game.
- 14:55Like if pitch innings 5 through 7 is the times if the Dodgers
- 14:59are going to be vulnerable, that's when it's been even
- 15:00before Dave Roberts was there when they had Don Mattingly and
- 15:03they had the great starting pitching with Kershaw and Grinky
- 15:05there. And they they were vulnerable in
- 15:07the middle of games when they played the Cardinals, they
- 15:09played the Giants teams like that.
- 15:11And you saw it even against the Padres too, when they when the
- 15:13Padres beat them in four games a couple years ago.
- 15:16I was going to reference that point with the Blue Jays too.
- 15:17We've seen them use starters out of the pen in gay way gay ways.
- 15:22They're comfortable enough. Bassett they did at the end of
- 15:24at the end of the series. You've seen that do that with
- 15:26Scherzer. Scherzer's done that in many
- 15:28teams throughout his career. The Nationals tried it.
- 15:30The Dodgers tried it when he got traded over there.
- 15:32So it wouldn't be surprising if John Schneider continues to do
- 15:35that kind of creativity now. We've seen them make mistakes by
- 15:37not using their higher leverage relievers at certain points
- 15:39during the Mariner Series and maybe in the certain points
- 15:42during Game 2 of this World Series too.
- 15:44But like Errol, like you were saying, the Dodgers top of the
- 15:47line about side of the one home run went by Otani in the first
- 15:49game has not really gotten it going.
- 15:51It's been Will Smith, it's been T Oscar Hernandez and those are
- 15:55the consistent guys that the line of depth of the Dodgers
- 15:57need. But the Blue Jays line of depth
- 15:59has been right on par with them in terms of the consistency
- 16:02aspect. Now Vlad's obviously going off
- 16:04Springer really hasn't had the great series so far, but still
- 16:07that kind of track record does favor the Blue Jays for the time
- 16:10being, even though the Dodgers have more depth.
- 16:11Just a matter of the Dodgers dominant starting pitch and come
- 16:14back to like you saw how a Moto do again, which is insane.
- 16:16Like that's two young two years in a row.
- 16:18This young kid has been phenomenal later in the
- 16:20postseason. I think the only bad game he's
- 16:22had is the second game against the Mets in the NLCS last year.
- 16:26It's insane the run he's on. And tonight glass.
- 16:28Now we've seen him be vulnerable later in the stretch innings.
- 16:30So that's where the Dodgers have to or the Blue Jays have to get
- 16:33to it inning #5 inning number six if they want to win this
- 16:35game in this series. It's the names that you see with
- 16:38the Dodgers, obviously, but you you don't count the Jays out
- 16:43because of exactly what they can do in game one.
- 16:45When they when they scored all those runs in one inning, they
- 16:47didn't swing and miss at a no two pitch.
- 16:50And they have guys that can just step up and put quality at bats
- 16:53and you know there there's going to be run scored.
- 16:55I was talking about this this morning.
- 16:57There's going to be run scored no matter what from both sides.
- 17:01And and it could be the same way with homers.
- 17:03It could be manufacturing and it it's just how the pitching comes
- 17:08into play. If you can get to the bullpens
- 17:10early, if they, you know, if they can get guys to go deep in
- 17:13the game, it it was funny how we were talking about, you know,
- 17:16just getting to a bullpen and whatever.
- 17:18They showed the the, the Snell when he came out with 73 pitches
- 17:22left. And then the Dodgers go ahead
- 17:24and, and, and take over the game.
- 17:26So they have the ability as a Dodgers lineup to go ahead and
- 17:32change the game with, with a swing.
- 17:34And there's multiple guys that can do it.
- 17:35We've seen guys obviously with the names that they have, but
- 17:39not really, you know, do what they're expected other than, you
- 17:44know, obviously Otani in the one game.
- 17:45But Will Smith's been the consistent, you know, little
- 17:48engine that could by just, you know, being behind the plate,
- 17:51being consistent and strong. And then Yamamoto coming out and
- 17:54doing things that that we've very rarely seen.
- 17:58And I think it was the last time was other than my dear friend go
- 18:02fly a kite sticker where the sun don't shine curd ceiling.
- 18:05And he did it three times. So it's it's interesting to see
- 18:10how this is going to play out. Which Max Scherzer do you get?
- 18:15I mean, this is his fifth World Series game.
- 18:17And it is literally going to be interesting knowing Max and
- 18:22being a teammate it is and being, you know, on the other
- 18:25side and seeing how he gets locked in.
- 18:28Is he going to be able to get deep in this game?
- 18:31How deep will they let it go? Will they let him face it 2-3
- 18:33times? I mean, you literally got to pry
- 18:35the ball out of the dudes hand. So we'll kind of see how he
- 18:39there's, whereas Velo is kind of is 9496.
- 18:42It averaged 95.3 last start, which is good for him.
- 18:46But also too that that you can't let that you know, be, you know,
- 18:50get on the fastball and then it flattens out your breaking stuff
- 18:53and and Max needs to do that to get these guys off of his
- 18:55heater. So then you got glass now who
- 18:58who obviously young on power on great curveball and then the
- 19:01moxie of Max. So it's going to be kind of from
- 19:03a pitching standpoint tonight and obviously moving forward
- 19:06because there are going to be runs.
- 19:08Let's see, this could be, you know, matches Lasser up.
- 19:11He loves pitching, loves seeing, you know, this these lights turn
- 19:15on and and he's done it for a long time.
- 19:17This could be his last one. And and he goes out and he's
- 19:20going to lay it on the line definitely.
- 19:22So I'm excited to see this one And and I'm glad we're going to
- 19:25we're going to get at least, you know, six games and and I hope
- 19:29we get I love game sevens. And so we'll, we'll see how this
- 19:33one plays out if it gets back to Toronto.
- 19:36Like Earl said, Ronald's tough at home.
- 19:39The Rogers Center is a different, different animal
- 19:41there. They'll be out in LA, you know,
- 19:44it's it's the World Series. They'll show up late to be seen
- 19:48and leave early just so they can be seen and, and avoid traffic
- 19:51as Max just about. Where's one in the face?
- 19:54In this series to and a lot of people don't think that the Blue
- 19:58Jays had a chance in this series.
- 19:59That what the Blue Jays have done throughout the playoffs
- 20:02from jumping from the Yankees and it really it all started
- 20:05with the Yankees and then going to the Mariners.
- 20:07I did not think the Blue Jays had a chance against the
- 20:09Mariners. I wanted to see the Mariners and
- 20:11the Dodgers. I didn't think that the Blue
- 20:14Jays matched up very well. Against the Dodgers now when you
- 20:17look at the rosters and you look at what Vladimir Guerrero is
- 20:20doing throughout the playoffs and now you have Bichette back.
- 20:23Now we'll see what Bichette is in the first two games.
- 20:26In game number one, I think he got a hit and game #2 I don't
- 20:29even think he got a hit. So I you want to see a little
- 20:32bit more from Bichette, if he can add a little bit more
- 20:35offense to this lineup that they didn't have throughout the
- 20:39playoffs. Maybe this is a different team.
- 20:42And Bouchette is a really good defensive player.
- 20:44This is one of the best second shortstop.
- 20:47He plays second. I think he's a shortstop, but
- 20:49he's been second base in shortstop.
- 20:51You can move them all over the infield.
- 20:53So Bouchette is a really good player.
- 20:55Remember, he's a free agent at the end of the season, so he has
- 20:59an opportunity to make a lot more money and he wants to prove
- 21:03himself. So him coming back and somehow
- 21:05the Blue Jays pull off a win and they knock off the Dodgers where
- 21:08nobody expects. We all know Bakers has the
- 21:11dodgers -210 if somehow the Blue Jays win this series and
- 21:17Bichette has a big part of that, Bichette's going to give himself
- 21:20a lot of money. It doesn't matter if it's with
- 21:21the Blue Jays, it could be with somebody else in the National
- 21:24League or American League team that's looking for an infielder
- 21:27that can play defensively as well as he can and can hit for
- 21:30power and average as well. The problem with Bichette is the
- 21:33guy never stays healthy. You look at his background in
- 21:36his career in the last three or four years, the guy never stays
- 21:39healthy in 100, healthy for 162 games.
- 21:42That's the big that's been the big problem for Bichette and and
- 21:45why Bichette probably didn't get his money over the last two
- 21:48seasons. When you saw Vladimir Guerrero
- 21:51and Bichette wanting Otani, remember that story?
- 21:54Otani was going to come to the Blue Jays.
- 21:58Now a lot of people believe that was where he was going.
- 22:01And then he kind of did a flip. So we whatever they call it a a
- 22:04trickery. He goes over there to Dodgers
- 22:06signs with the Dodgers. And that was why they told the
- 22:09Blue Jays. Bouchette and Vladimir Gross
- 22:12said don't sign us, get Otani and then worry about us after
- 22:16that. And what happened was?
- 22:18If they didn't take deferred money.
- 22:19Think about this though. If Otani goes to the they don't
- 22:23get Vlad. True.
- 22:27I don't know. It's to me, it's I know with the
- 22:31Mets. The Mets won if Lana Mcgarrell
- 22:34junior and if he ever became a free agent in the offseason And
- 22:40and the Blue Jays waited. There's no way the Blue Jays
- 22:44resigned because I believe the Mets would have given him five,
- 22:47six, $700 million if they if they if need be, because you
- 22:51know, Soto, you know, Lindor very, very close.
- 22:53They train in the offseason with each other.
- 22:56So I, I did believe, a lot of Met, Met fans believed that
- 22:59Vladimir Guerrero junior was going to the Mets.
- 23:02And then they made sure before the season started or really the
- 23:07first week of the season, that they were going to seal the deal
- 23:09with him. And that's why they gave him
- 23:10$325 million guaranteed because that was sealing the deal for
- 23:14him. I don't think any team would
- 23:16have given him that deal. And the Blue Jays did because
- 23:19they wanted to make sure that they were going to keep him.
- 23:20So I and what he's doing right now, it would have gotten more
- 23:24money. Could you imagine?
- 23:26The Blue Jays didn't sign him. He goes he he goes to the World
- 23:31Series and he's their borderline World Series champion.
- 23:34If they win the World Series, that adds an extra probably
- 23:37seventy, $80 million to the contract that the Mets or any
- 23:40other team would have given him or offered him in the offseason.
- 23:43There's no way the Blue Jays would have kept them.
- 23:45Don't forget about the alternate Ruber, too.
- 23:47The Blue Jays were very much in on soda last offseason, too, up
- 23:50until it probably got to the 700 million mark that the Mets and
- 23:53the Yankees did. They were right in with it.
- 23:54Because like you've, oh, you mentioned many times, Vlad and
- 23:57Soda are very good friends. Very good friends.
- 23:59And so is Lindor. They train, all three of them
- 24:02training the offseason together. Yeah, and I've heard that many,
- 24:06many times. It's not just them.
- 24:07There's another one I forget who also trains with them in the
- 24:10offseason big. They all, they all train
- 24:13together. It's either in Dominican or
- 24:14Florida, Puerto Rico, they all like a bunch of.
- 24:18Tatis. I don't remember.
- 24:20No, it's not Tatis Machado. I think it was Machado.
- 24:23They all trained together, all all four of them trained in the
- 24:26offseason with each other. They're all good friends and,
- 24:29and, and, and I'm not saying they would have gotten Manny
- 24:32Machado, but I really do believe the Mets would have had Vladimir
- 24:36Guerrero junior right at their fingertips if, if that ever
- 24:39happened. But the Blue Jays made sure they
- 24:42saw, they sealed the deal and and he's their young superstar
- 24:45and that's where they're keeping.
- 24:46I think that's the guy they wanted to keep.
- 24:48I do not believe the Blue Jays are keeping Bichette.
- 24:50I think he goes to free agency and he will work the money,
- 24:55whatever whoever offers him or whoever wants to pay him a
- 24:58significant lump sum of money. He had a great season, Bichette.
- 25:03Then he went down in the second-half of the season.
- 25:04It was out for a significant amount of time.
- 25:07And that's the Bichette, you know, story.
- 25:09And his father was like that. If you remember his father when
- 25:13he played baseball with Colorado, he could never stay
- 25:16healthy. Ever.
- 25:17And if if you remember his father, he D aged a lot too.
- 25:20And then today's game, you know, the DH doesn't make as much
- 25:23money as the guy who can play the field when they go to the
- 25:26contract signings. And I think that's going to be
- 25:28unfortunately the situation for Bichette.
- 25:30You know, obviously had a really good productive season at the
- 25:32bat for the first time in a few years.
- 25:34Really. He was on this great trajectory.
- 25:36I mean, we talked about it a bunch when we bring him up.
- 25:38He had that weird knee injury that he never really fully
- 25:41recovered from, it looks like. And, you know, he just lost that
- 25:44elite athleticism that we all thought he was going to have.
- 25:47He's still a good player. Yeah, he's still a good player.
- 25:49But as guys like that with lower half injuries get older, you
- 25:52generally don't see it get better.
- 25:54And it's it's. Going to be a.
- 25:56Lot yeah, at shortstop, they're already playing him at second
- 26:00base because I think they're obviously making a comment by
- 26:04playing at second base that his range is no longer the same as
- 26:06it used to be going left and right, you know, so they're
- 26:10gonna move him to another. Also that him and as it's hit
- 26:12really well though too because he wasn't really a.
- 26:14Right. And I think the other thing
- 26:16Speedy is those guys have been, you know, at the back getting
- 26:19all the at at bats, you know, getting all the timing down.
- 26:22He hasn't been hitting, You know, getting your timing back
- 26:26in the World Series doesn't sound easy to me.
- 26:29You know, like that's even if you're a really good hitter and
- 26:31had a good season, that's going to be tough for anybody to try
- 26:35to get their timing back and then be an important part in the
- 26:37middle of the lineup against the pitching staff.
- 26:40Let's not forget, are all elite starters.
- 26:43I mean, look, they have to win tonight in my opinion, because
- 26:46they get an Otani next game and then they're going to throw
- 26:49another great pitcher at him after that and then another and
- 26:52then another. They they have to take this game
- 26:55so they can get back to Toronto because I agree.
- 26:57With that, I think, I think the pressure is on the Dodgers.
- 27:00I think there's more pressure on the Dodgers to win tonight than
- 27:03it is the Blue Jays. Because if the Blue Jays,
- 27:06absolutely. What do the Blue Jays have to
- 27:08lose? What do you mean no way Vegas
- 27:10has the Blue Jays losing this series in five games.
- 27:15In five games. So if you who has the pressure
- 27:17Blue Jays lose tonight, let's talk it out then.
- 27:21So let's talk it out. If the Blue Jays lose tonight,
- 27:23that means they got to deal with Otani tomorrow night.
- 27:26So that's look staring 3 down three one right in the face as
- 27:31opposed to the Dodgers. They dropped down the two one
- 27:34and they got Ohtani. Wait, hold on one second that
- 27:36they hold on one second. So because Dodgers, because
- 27:40Ohtani is on the mount, Otani because Otani's on the mountain.
- 27:43So he's unhittable. He's unhittable because he's on
- 27:46the certainly look like it. Last time it's one game, it's
- 27:49one game and it was the Brewers. The Blue Jays most the Blue Jays
- 27:54are better off in the NL. The Blue Jay, it doesn't matter.
- 27:57They're young team. The Blue Jays have veterans and
- 28:00better hitters in the middle of their lineup.
- 28:02OK, All right. I'm not going.
- 28:03To sit here and say wrong about the better.
- 28:05So you're going to you're going to come out here and you're
- 28:07going to say, well, if the Blue Jays lose tonight, it's over.
- 28:10They need to win tonight's game. That's that's a crock of you
- 28:13know what, that's a crock of crap.
- 28:15Of course it's not. Over.
- 28:16I just think you look back at a series.
- 28:18The series. Whoever gets the momentum can
- 28:20crash in the second part of the series is a big deal the.
- 28:23Pressure is absolutely on the Dodgers throughout this series.
- 28:28It's on the Dodgers. There's no chance in hell that
- 28:31it any of the pressure is on the Blue Jays.
- 28:33The Blue Jays weren't even supposed to be here.
- 28:36Everybody and their mother had the Mariners winning that
- 28:39series. They came back to, oh, I
- 28:41remember when they were down to, oh, I was at Applebee's with
- 28:44Speedy. Everybody on the bar says the
- 28:46series is over, over. And I saw Vladimir Carrera when
- 28:50he was interviewed at the end of the game by Baseball Tonight, I
- 28:53remember it and he says what? What do people say?
- 28:562O and no teams got come back from a 2O deficit.
- 29:00It's absolute problem. It's absolutely probable that
- 29:04this could happen. And he and what did they do?
- 29:07They came back from a 2O deficit and then winded up winning the
- 29:10series. So to sit here and say, well,
- 29:13you know what the Dodgers are, if they win tonight, the series
- 29:17is over. The pressures on the Blue Jays,
- 29:19it's not on the Blue Jays. It's all on the Dodgers.
- 29:23All on them there. There's no argument to that
- 29:26because everybody, I disagree with you because the Dodgers
- 29:30know they're going to win this series.
- 29:31In their minds, they think, how are we going to lose this
- 29:34series? When we look at this series as a
- 29:36whole, We have Glass now, Snell, two guys that one of them that's
- 29:40won two Cy Youngs, another one that's been up for Cy Young in
- 29:43the American League multiple times.
- 29:45Then we have Otani, We have Yamamoto has pitched 2 complete
- 29:49games. The last guy to do that was Curt
- 29:51Schilling, who, by the way, won a World Series in 2000 against
- 29:54the New York Yankees. I mean, come on.
- 29:56When you look at naturally the numbers and you look at the
- 29:59players that they have, there's no possibility that the Blue
- 30:03Jays or any of their fans believe they actually can win
- 30:06the series. But guess what they do?
- 30:10Because they came out and they dominated in game number one, in
- 30:13game number 2, they took that. They took that game all the way
- 30:16to the 8th or 7 1/2 innings before the Dodgers went up and
- 30:20they hit. I think they were up 3 to one in
- 30:22that inning. And then in the next inning they
- 30:24gave up two runs. Yamamamoto pitched well to say
- 30:28that Otani is is dominant and that he's unhittable.
- 30:32The only time we've seen that is in in the final game of that
- 30:36series against the Brewers. And but God, by the way, I look
- 30:40at Otani and every time you put Otani on the mound, that scares
- 30:45me as if I was the Dodgers because it's just another inning
- 30:49and another pitch that could put him on the sidelines or put him
- 30:52in a position where he could go down.
- 30:54And get out of here. Dude dude, he tore his UCL how
- 30:58many times? Yeah.
- 30:59But how many times? And he's recovered how many
- 31:01times? He's not going to automatically
- 31:02tear. It he tore his UCL twice.
- 31:05Okay, usually, usually, but he's not hurt.
- 31:09Usually when you tear your UCL that many times, you're not the
- 31:13same picture. You're not now.
- 31:15Again Jabba will say well that's not true.
- 31:18Jacob degrom came back from 2 torn Ucls and and and again, I'm
- 31:23not comparing Jacob degrom to Otani, but Otani is an everyday
- 31:27hitter and when he goes up to the plate every single day,
- 31:30you're you're putting yourself at risk every single day to get
- 31:33hurt at you don't say. Well, what can we say, Errol?
- 31:36What can we say? Otani is a gambler.
- 31:39What can we say? Boy, Boy is he ever as Jabba
- 31:42doesn't believe it. Proven proven.
- 31:45Until then, what? Does he say, look, I just said
- 31:47they're staring down 31 because of the gauntlet that they're
- 31:50going to face. They were lucky enough to to get
- 31:53up against the bullpen and get Snell out of the game early.
- 31:55I think that's the recipe. This is take a lot of pitches
- 31:58and try to get to that Dodgers bullpen.
- 31:59That's the little weaker. Tanner Scott got hurt at the end
- 32:02of the season. He's not on the roster that
- 32:04another pitcher had a family thing that he's not on the
- 32:06roster and the pen, I mean, it's.
- 32:08It's his blow is big. I mean his family, obviously.
- 32:11All the best to him and his family.
- 32:12But yeah, that's a it's AI mean. It just obviously no timing is
- 32:16great for anything to happen to your family, but that's that's a
- 32:18big blow for them to feel. Obviously Tanner Scott was huge.
- 32:21But you know, coming into this not only, you know, dealing with
- 32:24him being gone, but emotionally, you know, going through what
- 32:26he's going through as as not only a teammate but a friend
- 32:29too. Is is adds up?
- 32:31You know what I'm saying? I think this series is anybody
- 32:34series. And I don't even think if if the
- 32:36Dodgers win tonight, I don't think this series is over.
- 32:39Not for a long shot, not for a long shot.
- 32:41But I do believe that if the Blue Jays win tonight, this is
- 32:45going 6, probably going 7. So I actually think it's going
- 32:517, not 6. I.
- 32:52Think, do you think, do you think when you say like there's
- 32:55more pressure on the Dodgers is because of like the way they've
- 32:58constructed their lineup and talents?
- 33:01Yeah, The talent, the deferred money, they set this up to win
- 33:05multiple championships, not just one, not just 2-3 or four.
- 33:09If you look at this roster right now and you look at the talent
- 33:12right now, the pitching staff that they have, Sasaki is in the
- 33:16bullpen right now. Sasaki didn't have a great
- 33:18season. Yamamoto, his first year was not
- 33:21you. Never start again, by the way.
- 33:23Yeah, probably. Looks like he's a good closer,
- 33:26yeah. I mean, I'm speaking from
- 33:28experience, dog. You might as well stay at this
- 33:30point. Well, maybe they will, but
- 33:32nevertheless, I I think that they're in position to win
- 33:36multiple championships and everybody and their mother
- 33:39believe that Dodgers are going to run away with this.
- 33:41I don't believe the Blue Jays believe that.
- 33:43I think the Blue Jays believe they can compete with them and
- 33:46with the middle of the lineup, if they can get this, if they
- 33:48could get Bichette to get themselves and get get on base,
- 33:52even walk and get on base and and get these guys in high pitch
- 33:57counts. I you can get the starters off
- 33:59the mound as quick as possible. And by the way, Max Scherzer is
- 34:02not a terrible pitcher. Now, he's not the same pitcher
- 34:04he once was and the Cy Young winner that we saw with the
- 34:07Nationals and the Detroit Tigers and remember the Arizona
- 34:12Diamondbacks. But this is still a quality
- 34:14pitcher. And if he can get, you know, get
- 34:17into the later innings, the six or seven innings and he could
- 34:20stay on the mound and keep this to one or two, two runs.
- 34:23Why couldn't the Blue Jays win this game?
- 34:26So I, I think the Blue Jays are much more confident after what
- 34:31they did in game #1 and I don't really think they have any
- 34:34pressure on if the Dodgers win this series.
- 34:36Everybody expected it. If the Blue Jays get, you know,
- 34:40win game #3 or game #4 and get this back to Toronto and take
- 34:46this to Game 7, where do you think the pressure is going to
- 34:49lie? It's going to lie on the
- 34:50Dodgers. The Dodgers are the ones that
- 34:52have all the pressure on them because they're expected to win
- 34:56as Las Vegas and DraftKings and FanDuel.
- 35:00Everybody has them up -210 -, 250.
- 35:04And when you have that kind of number and you're looking at
- 35:07those numbers, what are the Blue Jays have to lose?
- 35:09As you heard Vladimir Guerrero junior say, we have nothing to
- 35:12lose. We're out there, we're going to
- 35:14play, and we're going to play all the way to game #7 if need
- 35:17be. And that's what you want to hear
- 35:19you from your best player, and that's all I'm going to say
- 35:21about that. Yeah.
- 35:23I mean, it's it's however you look at it from where the
- 35:29pressure is. I mean, if you're in the World
- 35:31Series, it's it's on everybody at this point.
- 35:34Yeah. OK.
- 35:35You can look at it from that view.
- 35:36Yes, They're supposed to get there.
- 35:38Yeah, they're not supposed to get there.
- 35:39So you can kind of look at it either way.
- 35:41I, I think it goes six or seven games, honestly, because I think
- 35:46there's going to be a, a situation where they blow it in
- 35:49and out and somebody goes and shoves.
- 35:51That's kind of going to be the nature of the beast with these
- 35:53two teams. And you know, you, you've seen
- 35:56it already. And I think that's kind of going
- 35:57to how it's going to play out for the rest of the time.
- 35:59I'd love to see it go seven games.
- 36:01I love a Game 7, especially when it's like literally win or go
- 36:05home. There's like no round
- 36:06afterwards. It's like either you're going
- 36:08home or you're going to celebrate for and be hammered
- 36:11for the next three days. So here's my problem with the
- 36:14seven games. I feel like this team might be
- 36:16better than the team that beat the Yankees in five last year.
- 36:19And because Otani was hurt, if you remember, with the separated
- 36:22shoulder slide in the second base in that series, they got a
- 36:25full strength. Otani, he's pitching that's I
- 36:29just think they're better if they win tonight.
- 36:31You think I'm the only one who has a love fest?
- 36:33You have the guy is the. Best player in the world he's
- 36:36pitching. No, he's when he's pitching the
- 36:38best player in the world and hitting Judge and we've gone
- 36:41over. There when Otani is pitching
- 36:43like this and hitting it does more to winning dude him than
- 36:47what judge? Could you remember?
- 36:49Could you remember a last time? The last time Otani hit three
- 36:52home runs in a game and had 10 strikeouts?
- 36:54Could you remember? It was the other day.
- 36:56Never, never. That was the only time he's ever
- 36:58done it in his career. You make it since.
- 37:01Oh, he's pitched it like this, pitch it like this and he's hit
- 37:04it like this. How many times does he hit three
- 37:06home runs in a game? He doesn't have to hit 300 runs
- 37:10and have any strikeouts to to. Win.
- 37:12It was an all world game. He's not going to do that again.
- 37:15It's almost physically impossible.
- 37:17He's not going. To do it my point, they have
- 37:19enough guys. Well, you're making it out to be
- 37:21well, if you pitches like that, it's going to be like he was the
- 37:24Brewers. And they didn't.
- 37:26It was. The Milwaukee Brewer.
- 37:28Last. Year you why are people making
- 37:30this argument against the Brewers OK yeah they.
- 37:32They were young. You're what are you?
- 37:34They're in that situation. Yeah, they were.
- 37:36They didn't hit very well, but you're downplaying the fact that
- 37:39the Brewers were in that position.
- 37:41Like Java. I heard this argument on MLB
- 37:43Network too, which makes zero sense to me.
- 37:46You're discrediting the fact of what he did is absolute
- 37:49astronaut. Let let me ask you a question.
- 37:50Let me ask you a question. What?
- 37:52Remember last year? Remember when the Mets
- 37:54eliminated the Brewers in the playoffs?
- 37:56Everybody had the Brewers winning that series.
- 37:57Remember that? Remember that?
- 37:59Yeah. Did the Brewers hit in that
- 38:00series? Did the Brewers hit in that
- 38:01series? Yes or no?
- 38:03No, the Brewers have it in the series.
- 38:05Exactly, Exactly. But what are you taking away
- 38:09from him? I'm not taking away from
- 38:10anything and I'm just telling you you're never going to see
- 38:13Otani do that again. You will never happen.
- 38:14Again, he already did it. Obviously he could do it again.
- 38:17Can Aaron Judge do what Otani did?
- 38:19No, sorry, he doesn't pitch. That's my point.
- 38:23But again, he can't do what Otani does.
- 38:26Here's what I'm going to tell you.
- 38:27Here's my point. Aaron Judge is an Aaron Judge is
- 38:30an everyday player. He plays in the outfield.
- 38:32He's a. Great defender.
- 38:34If Trump wanted to play every day, he could play every day.
- 38:36I I disagree. What makes you think that he
- 38:39could go out? What makes you think he could go
- 38:40on the outfield and do what Aaron Judge does?
- 38:42But that if he's not, if he didn't pitch 100%, he could do
- 38:46it. I, I and then he would I have to
- 38:48see it. Job.
- 38:49I have to see it, I have to see it, I have to see it because he
- 38:52might be a different player if he's playing out in the outfield
- 38:54every single day. 100% but to to what you're saying is he's not a
- 38:59pitcher. So Aaron Judge can't do what
- 39:02Otani does. Otani can do what Judge does.
- 39:04Really. Because if you look at the
- 39:06numbers, that's not true. If you look at the.
- 39:08Last thing he he physically in one year can do what Judge does.
- 39:13I'm not taking anything away from either of them, but what
- 39:15you're saying is an absolute stupid ass argument because just
- 39:20because you're saying Judge isn't a pitcher, Judge can't do
- 39:23what Otani does because he doesn't pitch but that Tony.
- 39:26Can, but that doesn't take away from what I think Aaron Judge is
- 39:29as a player over. I know you're not.
- 39:32It was one game he pitched in the playoffs and he pitched 10
- 39:35strikeouts in six innings and three.
- 39:37He's A10 WAR guy. What does that mean?
- 39:41What has he done in the playoffs besides that game that he
- 39:44pitched? He's a 220.
- 39:46He's in a 225 hundred. Yeah, that's fine.
- 39:49He hit 500 this year. Has no time he done that?
- 39:52Has no time he done that? Has he done that?
- 39:55Has he done that? The answer is no.
- 39:57That's my opinion here. OK, so you're going to tell me
- 40:00that Chair Otani could do the same thing?
- 40:02Aaron, Judge, Don. I'm telling the Dodgers are me,
- 40:04as is better with this version of Shohei Otani than last year.
- 40:07'S version good. Therefore, they're going to be
- 40:09better against this when the Blue Jays beat down.
- 40:12Yankee, when the Blue Jays beat the Dodgers, I don't want to
- 40:15hear your your, your yapping and all that here.
- 40:17Down to tonight here. Big deal to get ahead of Otani
- 40:20well. Guess what?
- 40:21I disagree with you. If the Blue Jays lose tonight,
- 40:24they could beat Otani and take it right back to Toronto and
- 40:28winning seven games and that's it.
- 40:30And I'm. We're not saying that anybody
- 40:32can be beat. We're not.
- 40:33Saying I'm telling you, I think. This might be a better team than
- 40:36the team they had last. I disagree.
- 40:38OK, so if if you're saying whatever and I'm just going to
- 40:41go based upon stats, right? Yeah.
- 40:43Why is Otani's playoff OPS better than judges?
- 40:46Let me ask you a question, Jabba, who is, If you look at
- 40:49the Dodgers and the Dodgers team last year, you look at the
- 40:51Dodgers right now and you look at the Dodgers last year, who
- 40:55the Dodgers last year, their record last year in the regular
- 40:58season, did they not have a better record going into the
- 41:00playoffs than they did this? Regular season doesn't.
- 41:02Matter. You say that, but I disagree.
- 41:05It means a lot. It shows me the the momentum a
- 41:08team has going into the playoffs.
- 41:10OK, so now you're talking on the other side of your mouth,
- 41:12because now you're talking. Oh, it does matter, but then
- 41:15you're shitting on the Brewers. Come on, I am well, the Brewers.
- 41:18What are you talking about? The Brewers were up and down in
- 41:20the second of the season. The regular.
- 41:22They were the Dodgers. Wait a second.
- 41:25The Brewers, The Brewers in the second-half of the season were
- 41:28up and down. They were not good in the
- 41:31second-half regular. Season doesn't matter.
- 41:33It doesn't have record in the NL.
- 41:35So what? They had a great first half.
- 41:38In the second-half they weren't as good as they were in the
- 41:40first half. They were absolutely unbeatable
- 41:42in the first half and in the second.
- 41:44Half, they were like the middle of the season.
- 41:46They had this. It was the second-half of.
- 41:48The over the summer. It was the second-half of the
- 41:50season when the the Brewers started having a losing streak.
- 41:53I think they went on A10 or A9 game losing streak.
- 41:56They want they won like a bunch of games around then they then
- 41:58they lost a bunch and they kind of came back down to earth and
- 42:01got let the Cubs catch back up. But let me let me no one's
- 42:04saying the Brewers were ready to face that team.
- 42:07They got swept, obviously. And no one's saying that the
- 42:10Blue Jays aren't a much better team than the Brewers are
- 42:13currently. And no one's saying that.
- 42:15I'm just saying this dodge. You're wrong.
- 42:17I disagree. Might be a lot better than even
- 42:19the team that beat the Yankees. I disagree with saying Dodgers
- 42:22in 5I. Disagree with you and they're
- 42:23not winning in five. I'll put money tonight.
- 42:26You want to bet? You want to bet?
- 42:28Put your money where your mouth is.
- 42:30I bet you 50 bucks. I bet you I don't.
- 42:31Want to? I don't want to.
- 42:32I bet you 50. I'm not going to take.
- 42:34That's fine. The New York Jets finally got
- 42:37their first win of the season versus the Cincinnati Bengals in
- 42:42a shootout, scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter to win the
- 42:46game 39 to 38. Breeze Hall had a great game for
- 42:50gangrene with 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns and had a
- 42:56passing touchdown to Mason Taylor on a trick play at the
- 43:01end of the game, which is the game-winning touchdown.
- 43:03Justin Fields, a week after being bench, got his start due
- 43:07to Tyrod Taylor having a knee injury and had 244 passing
- 43:12yards, 31 rushing yards and a touchdown.
- 43:14After the game, Fields opened up on his emotional difficulty he
- 43:18went through during the week, receiving criticism from many
- 43:22different Jet fans and even from Woody Johnson, who took shots at
- 43:26him for not being a complete passer.
- 43:30Head coach Aaron Glenn, after his first game and his first win
- 43:34as an NFL head coach, yelled effing grit in in the locker
- 43:39room to the team. And after the game, Glenn said
- 43:42he was proud of Fields. And it's handled things very,
- 43:46very well. He was still unsure over who
- 43:50would be starting quarterback for The Jets coming back from
- 43:54their bye week. The New York Giants fell.
- 43:56Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles beat them 38 to 20,
- 44:01getting revenge on week six loss to the Giants at MetLife
- 44:05Stadium. Former Giants running back
- 44:07Saquon Barkley looked like the Offensive player of the year
- 44:10like he was in 2024 form again after his 150 rushing yards and
- 44:16a touchdown, including breaking off the 65 yard touchdown run on
- 44:22the second player of the game for the Giants, the game turned
- 44:25as hard and badly as running back Cam Scataboo.
- 44:29His ankle turned after it was dislocated in the game.
- 44:32The ankle injury will likely end Scataboo's rookie season.
- 44:36After getting that horrendous injury, there was missed calls
- 44:41by the referees that went against the Giants, including
- 44:45the tush push that should have been a fumble recovery by Kevon
- 44:50Thibodeau, which made coach Brian Dabel a little bit upset
- 44:55and a little bit more hotter on the sideline.
- 44:57The Eagles, who were without receiver A.J.
- 45:01Brown in the game, head into the bye week comfortable at a six
- 45:05and two record while the Giants host the five and three 49ers at
- 45:10MetLife Stadium. I'm going to tell everybody how
- 45:12I really feel about The Jets. The Jets should not have won
- 45:15this game. I don't care how and what Justin
- 45:18Field said at the end. Again, I feel bad for Justin
- 45:20Fields. He got, he got attacked by
- 45:21ownership and, and obviously Woody Johnson.
- 45:24We've heard Chris Johnson in many different podcasts over the
- 45:27last couple of weeks say that maybe Justin Fields is just not
- 45:31fit to play in the NFL. Bree Saul had a good game.
- 45:35Bree Saul, really what The Jets were doing was promoting and and
- 45:39putting them out there because they're looking to move him at
- 45:41the trade deadline in the next couple of weeks.
- 45:44I, I don't know what they're going to get for him.
- 45:45Probably a third round talent. The The Jets right now are in
- 45:50position to get the number one pick.
- 45:53If you're in position to get the number one pick, why the hell
- 45:56are you trying to win these games?
- 45:57The Bengals, win or lose, Joe Burrow won't be back into Week
- 46:0210, a Week 11. They're not making the playoffs
- 46:04the way the AFC is really starting to fall, fall into
- 46:08place now obviously at Oliver going down, it affects the
- 46:12Buffalo Bills and and maybe the Buffalo Bills might not be a
- 46:16contender this year because of losing a guy that can stop the
- 46:19run as well as Ed Oliver can. And, and the problem really for
- 46:22a lot of these teams, The Jets and a lot of these AFC teams is
- 46:26stopping the run. If you look at the Baltimore
- 46:28Ravens, they've had a problem stopping the run.
- 46:30They're usually really good at it.
- 46:31The Bengals this year stopping the run, The Jets stopping the
- 46:34run, all these teams stopping the run, even the Kansas City
- 46:37Chiefs all season long really, except the last two games, their
- 46:41problem was stopping the run. And now you look at The Jets
- 46:45winning this game. They've got 2 winnable games
- 46:48left. They could beat the Cleveland
- 46:50Browns after their bye week. They could beat the Saints in a
- 46:54couple of weeks and and they put themselves in a bad position to
- 46:57fail because right now The Jets are sitting at one.
- 47:00If they win those two games, they can fall out of the top
- 47:04five, maybe even fall out of the top ten.
- 47:06The way everything is lined up. This win is not a win for Aaron
- 47:11Glenn. I know Aaron Glenn said.
- 47:13Effing grit and whatever he says and I love his enthusiasm.
- 47:18I don't think Aaron Glenn was going to get fired no matter
- 47:20what happened. They could go and offer this
- 47:23year. The Jets.
- 47:25We're going to keep Aaron Glenn. There's no way with a new GM and
- 47:30and the way this roster is set up because they pretty pretty
- 47:34much took Robert Salas team and his roster and he didn't really
- 47:38have much. The Jets really didn't have a
- 47:39real offseason of bringing in free agents because there was
- 47:42really no money that their salary cap was really invested
- 47:47into Garrett Wilson and source Garner.
- 47:50So The Jets didn't bring in free agents.
- 47:52They they really didn't bring in any, any Aaron Glenn guys.
- 47:56So that would be this offseason. And that's what I believe the
- 48:00New York Jets were going to do. They were going to give Aaron
- 48:02Glenn the opportunity to build his team and maybe his
- 48:06quarterback. Your your position Now where I'm
- 48:10worried because this is very jet jet esque.
- 48:13I remember. No, I'm not saying Trevor
- 48:17Lawrence is any good, but I remember that season where
- 48:21everybody thought, oh, The Jets are going to get Trevor
- 48:23Lawrence. They're going to get the number
- 48:24one pick. This guy can change a team, a
- 48:27roster, and this guy is the next Andrew Luck.
- 48:30And what did The Jets do against the Rams?
- 48:32I remember that game. They win the game, a game they
- 48:36shouldn't have won. They win it just very jet, jet
- 48:40esque. Just like this Bengals game.
- 48:43They win it at the end of the game and this is this is been
- 48:48The Jets Forte for years. It's been a big problem for the
- 48:52New York Jets. It bothers me as a Jet fan.
- 48:55I am not happy watching and really comparing this Jet team
- 49:00to any of the Jet Jet teams over the years.
- 49:02And Aaron Glenn is not been as bad as Robert Saleh, even though
- 49:05his record would probably argue that.
- 49:09If you look at every single game he's been in, every single game
- 49:11but the Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills, the games have been
- 49:16close. The Jets really should have
- 49:19three to four wins right now. If you were to ask me right now,
- 49:23my argument to the New York Jets is The Jets should be, what is
- 49:27it? They're seven games in.
- 49:29The Jets should be 4 and three. That's where The Jets should be.
- 49:33They choked in the Pittsburgh game.
- 49:34They could have beaten quite a few other teams, and I'm not
- 49:38going to mention the teams, but you could just look at the the
- 49:40scores of those games. They should have beaten Miami,
- 49:42even though they lost 27 to 2427 to 20.
- 49:46Miami's not a good team. But again, this is very Jet ask
- 49:53and the only reason why The Jets are still drafting at one is
- 49:56because their schedule is one of the top five easiest schedules
- 49:59in football and the teams right below them are some of the
- 50:04harder schedules. So right now The Jets are
- 50:06sitting pretty at one. What happens if The Jets pull
- 50:10off a win after their bye week against the Cleveland Browns,
- 50:13who have really nothing to play for?
- 50:15What do they got to play for? They got Gabriel and Gabriel
- 50:20and, and, and Shaddor Sanders. That's that's all we're we're
- 50:23trying to figure out who their starting quarterback's going to
- 50:25be next year. That's all they're playing for
- 50:29The Jets. And you know, Aaron Glenn, he's
- 50:32playing, he's playing for his life because everybody, every
- 50:37single fan on social media, every single radio show, every
- 50:40single broadcast, everybody was picking on Aaron Klein that he's
- 50:43not the guy. What were The Jets thinking?
- 50:44The guy doesn't know how to play.
- 50:46He doesn't know how to play call.
- 50:47He doesn't know how to call the game.
- 50:48He's he's, he's put in a really bad position in the fourth
- 50:52quarter. He doesn't know how to call a
- 50:54timeout. This Jet team, look at their
- 50:58star wide receivers. Yesterday it was Johnson and
- 51:00Williams. Who the hell are they?
- 51:03I don't even know who they are. They're on their depth charts.
- 51:07They were five and four on their depth charts going into the
- 51:10season. Watching The Jets is
- 51:15humiliating. It's not something as a fan.
- 51:18If you're a giant fan, at least you have something to watch.
- 51:20I mean, yeah, it's got a Boo. Yeah.
- 51:21Dart, you have a good front seven.
- 51:23You have Dexter Lawrence. I mean, The Jets, we don't even
- 51:26know if this defense is going to be the same next year.
- 51:28Why? Because this isn't Aaron Glenn's
- 51:31defense. You can see it's not Aaron
- 51:32Glenn's defense. We've heard Quinton Williams
- 51:35name being brought up in trades. Quincy Williams name being
- 51:37brought up in trades. Bruce Hall's name being brought
- 51:39up in trades. Every single one of these guys.
- 51:42Jamie and Sherwood's name being brought up in trades.
- 51:46This whole defense besides source Garner has been brought
- 51:49up in trades. This is not going to be the same
- 51:53Jets team next year. And that's why I have always
- 51:56believed that Aaron Glenn was never going to lose his job even
- 51:59if he went over and for him to win this game.
- 52:02Exciting. If if you're a Jets fan and you
- 52:04want to jump for joy and I want to give, I want to say something
- 52:09I do. I do believe The Jets were
- 52:11playing for Nick Mango. I do everything that we've heard
- 52:16from the players after the game and really from, you know, Rex
- 52:21Ryan and what he said before the game at an NFL countdown on ESPN
- 52:27and, and we know how what Rex Ryan thought of Nick Mangold.
- 52:30I know what I thought about Nick Mangold.
- 52:32This guy's a Hall of Hall of Fame center.
- 52:35Malai was a Hall of Fame Hall of Fame Center for the New York
- 52:38Jets. And Nick Mangold, he only played
- 52:41for one team, new New York Jets. Malai played for Miami and he
- 52:43played for The Jets and he played for, I think another,
- 52:46another organization, Titans. Nick Mangold was a Jet his whole
- 52:50career. This guy was a Hall of Fame
- 52:53center and and to hear the loss of Nick Mangold at the age of
- 52:5841, I think they just play for him.
- 53:00I think Aaron Glenn, who knew Nick Mangold and a lot of these
- 53:03players, Garrett Wilson who trained and actually saw Nick
- 53:07Mangold at the facility in the off seasons, year in and year
- 53:10out. Sauce Gardner who got a chance
- 53:12to make Nick meet Nick Mangold. All the coaching Staffs that
- 53:16knew Nick Mangold, he was a Buckeye, OK, we all know Wes and
- 53:22what he said about Nick Mangold and the the special player that
- 53:25he was for the Buckeyes. This guy was an old world New
- 53:29York Jet and, and losing him before the game and the
- 53:32announcement that The Jets and the organization lost a great a
- 53:37great player and a great personality like that.
- 53:40I think The Jets absolutely played for Nick Mangold in the
- 53:43fourth quarter. You saw that the trick played by
- 53:45Bruce Hall throwing it to Mason Taylor was sensational, was fun
- 53:48to watch. It really was.
- 53:52But Jet fans, this is not good. Any Jet fans sitting here today
- 53:56and thinking that it was? It's it's not.
- 54:00I'm not happy watching the New York Jets win that game.
- 54:03That's why I didn't watch it. I didn't I didn't care for it.
- 54:07You, you Jeff fans sitting there and we won our first game.
- 54:10You're won in seven. How many games do you think
- 54:13you're going to win? And this is just very Jet esque
- 54:16as far as the New York Giants are concerned.
- 54:19They were never beating the Eagles.
- 54:21They were never going to win two games against the Eagles in the
- 54:24same season. This Eagle team is too good, too
- 54:27talented, even without A.J. Brown.
- 54:29And you are not going to have another game like you did in
- 54:33game #1 where Saquon Barkley couldn't run the ball.
- 54:35There was no way they were stopping Saquon Barkley
- 54:38back-to-back games in in a three or four weeks, man.
- 54:41There was no way in hell. Saquon Barkley is too dominant,
- 54:44too good of a player. Giant fans know that the fact
- 54:48that Cam scataboo went down the way he did it, it was
- 54:51disgusting, horrible to watch, horrible to watch a kid like
- 54:55that. All the fans love this kid.
- 54:58It's not fun to watch somebody go down like that and and in the
- 55:01in the pain that he went down and and and and out for the
- 55:04season for everybody. The the one thing that fans were
- 55:08looking forward to week in and week out.
- 55:09I know that from fish. I know that from Speedy.
- 55:12I know that from Mr. Poops over here is Cam Scataboo and and
- 55:18Jackson Dart, the special players that they are and and
- 55:22the type of players that they could become for the New York
- 55:26Giants in the family of the New York Giants organization.
- 55:29That was hard to watch even more harder harder to watch Kevon
- 55:34Tibono not recover a fumble. OK?
- 55:38This guy is an absolute disgrace.
- 55:42OK, I, I, I, I don't know what you're watching, fans, and you
- 55:46think that this guy deserves any kind of money in the offseason.
- 55:50This guy thinks he's going to get paid a significant amount of
- 55:52money. He has a free agent at the end
- 55:54of this year. Giant fans, if the Giants bring
- 55:57this idiot back. I, I'm going to tell you this
- 55:59right now, Abdul Carter is a million times better than Kevan
- 56:03Thibodeau. I, I, I don't even know why
- 56:06anybody thought that this kid was going to be a good play.
- 56:09This was Joe Shane's first draft.
- 56:11I'll never forget it. He had two top 10 picks and both
- 56:16of them aren't going to last with the New York Giants more
- 56:19than five years and you think that this guy deserves to keep
- 56:24his job? Honestly, the Giants right now,
- 56:29they're going to win probably another three-game.
- 56:31I'm not up for games, probably another game or two.
- 56:34I think they can win 4, maybe five games depending on how
- 56:36everything falls together. The Giants have no running game
- 56:39now. Tracy can't stay healthy.
- 56:42You lost catapult for the season.
- 56:43Who are you going to bring off the scrap heat Now you're going
- 56:46to say singletary? Give me a break motor.
- 56:50They have nothing. They have no running game.
- 56:53They have no wide receivers. They lost neighbors that Darius
- 56:56Slayton. I never thought any highly of
- 56:58Darius Slayton. I I mean, they got some, you
- 57:01know, they got some weapons in some kind of way.
- 57:05I mean, if you want to say Jackson Darty's put in a bad
- 57:08situation. I I I don't know if any giant
- 57:12fan is happy to watch the rest of this season and how it's
- 57:15going to fall together now the trade deadlines around the
- 57:18corner. If the Giants think that they
- 57:19could, you know, somehow sneak into the playoffs.
- 57:22I don't I don't see it anymore. The only way they sneak into the
- 57:25playoffs if they won last week, which they should have because I
- 57:28knew they were going to lose this game against the Eagles,
- 57:30The Eagles are I'm telling you guys this.
- 57:34This is the best team in the NFL.
- 57:37I'm going to tell you this right now, I don't think anybody can
- 57:40argue this right now. This is the best team in the
- 57:43NFL. You will see after their bye
- 57:46week when they come back, they're they're going to they're
- 57:49going to go on a four or five game-winning streak.
- 57:52I I just don't think there's any team in the, the NFCI thought
- 57:55that the Packers were going to be good adding Mike apart.
- 57:58The Packers. Jordan Love looked sensational
- 58:00last night. He did and and and Tucker looked
- 58:05fantastic too. They they, they're, they look,
- 58:08they look great a tandem like that.
- 58:10But you're not going to see that week in and week out.
- 58:13I have Jordan Love on my fantasy team, two of my fantasy teams.
- 58:17Am I going to bet that Jordan Love is going to take me to the
- 58:20promised land in those fantasy leagues?
- 58:22No, that was a game that he wanted to prove himself against
- 58:25Aaron, Aaron Rodgers and he did. He proved himself.
- 58:30Y'all played Aaron Rodgers that that NFC, that NFC North that we
- 58:35thought was going to be good. Minnesota's not good.
- 58:38The Packers up and down, Chicago's up and down.
- 58:41The Lions are the best team in that division.
- 58:44There should win that division. A Division I thought was the
- 58:47best division in football is really up and down.
- 58:51It's not really that good. You know what I thought?
- 58:54I think the division, the division that really stands out
- 58:56to me is that the Buccaneers division, even though Atlanta
- 59:00lost against Miami, and we'll talk about that a little bit
- 59:02later in the show. The, the Eagles are the best
- 59:06team right now in the NFC. You want to say that the Rams I,
- 59:11I don't, I don't trust the Rams. They're young.
- 59:14They got a young defense and and and again, the the the players
- 59:19that they have in Devante Adams and and Puka Naku.
- 59:23Puka Naku has played in how many years?
- 59:25What was it three years in the NFL, third year, third year?
- 59:28How many times has he been injured?
- 59:31How many times has he been injured?
- 59:33He's been injured a couple of games here and there every
- 59:36single season he's played. Yeah, he puts up the numbers,
- 59:40but is he going to stay healthy? He's going to be 100%.
- 59:43No, nobody's 100% going into the playoffs, as we've heard many
- 59:46players say. I I don't trust.
- 59:49I don't trust any of those teams.
- 59:51The only team I do trust is the team that won a Super Bowl last
- 59:55year and when when on all cylinders are unbeatable and we
- 59:59haven't even seen the best in Jalen Hurts yet.
- 1:00:02Yeah, it's one of those instances where we looked at the
- 1:00:05passing game with the Eagles and it was about to get going at
- 1:00:08some point and it wasn't this game was just A.J.
- 1:00:10Brown not even being there. He got Smith getting going.
- 1:00:12Johann Dotson caught a touchdown in that game and Saquon finally
- 1:00:15got back to the form that he did and that was what was missing.
- 1:00:18I think it was the play calling with the offense.
- 1:00:19We saw that in 2023. It really hurt the Eagles and
- 1:00:21now you're seeing him at full throttle.
- 1:00:22The Giants. Yeah, just keep your players
- 1:00:24healthy at this point because you already got a worst case
- 1:00:27scenario and you're seeing CT issues with Dark potentially 2
- 1:00:30that I worry about as well. Brian Dabel, if he just able to
- 1:00:33keep his job, just go with a quick game offense at this
- 1:00:35point. As far as The Jets are
- 1:00:37concerned, yeah, I'm not going to say this win means anything
- 1:00:39for them. Maybe trade deadline strategy
- 1:00:41like you're saying. Breece Hall, trade him.
- 1:00:42Quinn and Williams, see what you can get for him.
- 1:00:43Don't sell low on Quinn and Williams, but see if you can
- 1:00:45sell high on him and maybe get good value with that too.
- 1:00:48But definitely a good emotional win for Nick Mangold as well.
- 1:00:51Nick Mangold, one of the best centers I've ever seen, if not
- 1:00:53the best center I've ever seen. Very sad what happened to him.
- 1:00:55And The Jets really rallied around that.
- 1:00:56And I agree with you on Glenn. Glenn is a gritty coach.
- 1:00:59It takes a lot for a coach to be fired in a year 1.
- 1:01:01Aaron Glenn, even though he's losing his.
- 1:01:03He is just like Dan Campbell. He is just like Dan Campbell.
- 1:01:06I don't care what anybody says. Jet fans got to stop this, stop
- 1:01:10all this garbage. All all of the social media
- 1:01:12saying fire. They have signs up on.
- 1:01:15They're making signs up like memes now.
- 1:01:18Fire Glen. Fire Glen.
- 1:01:21It makes no sense. After one year, Robert Sala's
- 1:01:24roster, it's Joe Douglas's roster.
- 1:01:27It's not even mogies or Aaron Glenn's roster.
- 1:01:32And everybody has them out. Everybody has them out, yeah.
- 1:01:35Quickly, we have our guest and I just want to mention like it
- 1:01:38takes a lot more like Urban Meyer with the scandal with the
- 1:01:40Jaguars, the Texans, all the stupidity they did with the
- 1:01:43Rooney Rule, trying to hire these like basically phantom
- 1:01:46coaches that never were to keep their job.
- 1:01:47Arizona with Steve Wilkes, like you were talking about a few
- 1:01:49weeks ago. There are a lot of players in
- 1:01:50like Steve Wilkes, so he had to get fired like it takes a lot.
- 1:01:53Aaron Glenn is not really fit any of those boxes.
- 1:01:55Steve Wilkes is getting fired. Yeah, Steve Wilkes was a head
- 1:01:58coach of Arizona. He's as good as fired.
- 1:02:00The Jets are going to fire him at the end of the season.
- 1:02:02They're Aaron. Glenn's one of those guys that
- 1:02:04won't fire him in the middle of the season.
- 1:02:06That that's what Bill Parcells would do.
- 1:02:09Bill Parcells would wait until the end of the season and he'd
- 1:02:11disband guys. He'd get rid of guys.
- 1:02:13He is not going to fire him in the middle of the season.
- 1:02:16It's not Dabel did that with Wink Martindale, right?
- 1:02:18I think it was He did that Gables different and he is also
- 1:02:23a Bill Belichick disciple and what's he Bill Parcells to?
- 1:02:26I'm not even sure. I don't even remember, but maybe
- 1:02:29he's a part of that tree. But Aaron Glenn is not going to
- 1:02:32fire Steve Wilkes until the seasons end.
- 1:02:34I believe Aaron Glenn will take over the reins of the defensive
- 1:02:37coordinating at the end of the season.
- 1:02:39He is not getting fired for all that Mike McCarthy.
- 1:02:42I've been hearing names of Mike McCarthy and the chance at the
- 1:02:45game the other day was MM McCarthy.
- 1:02:49I, I, I don't want to hear it anymore.
- 1:02:51Jeff. Fans need to stop this.
- 1:02:53Give this guy a chance to succeed.
- 1:02:56You're not going to succeed jumping from one coach to
- 1:02:59another. You can't fire him in the in the
- 1:03:02first year based upon the fact that he doesn't really have his
- 1:03:04dudes in obviously crappy situation with, you know, when
- 1:03:09you have to rally around something like that.
- 1:03:12I mean, that sucks. Obviously all the best to him
- 1:03:14and his family and and the organization as a whole because
- 1:03:17you know, like, you know, fish is going to touch on later and,
- 1:03:20and how he impacted that whole organization.
- 1:03:23And yeah, the the energy, the young guys, the Giants had, you
- 1:03:26know, look forward to and Cam that first you had neighbors,
- 1:03:29now you have Cam and as somebody that's done the same thing to
- 1:03:32his ankle, hopefully, you know, best case scenario, there's
- 1:03:34nothing wrong with his tibia and fibula.
- 1:03:36But if there is going to be a little longer, if it was just an
- 1:03:38open dislocation where they snapped it back in, maybe a
- 1:03:41couple screws here and there, it won't be as long as you think.
- 1:03:44But if there was a if there was a a fracture in the fibula and
- 1:03:47tibia, it's going to take a little bit longer.
- 1:03:49But obviously nothing came out like that.
- 1:03:50So, yeah. And they weren't going to stop
- 1:03:53Saquon back-to-back. And he goes out and then it's
- 1:03:56funny how they were just talking about his longest run of the
- 1:03:58year been 18 yards and he busts out of 65 to go ahead and start
- 1:04:01off the start off his day. So yeah, it was a it was an
- 1:04:04interesting day for both teams. That's for.
- 1:04:05Sure, I will say this. Kev says that the.
- 1:04:07Colts. If they were to match up in the
- 1:04:10Super Bowl, he'd have the Colts beating the Eagles and running
- 1:04:12over the Eagles. I don't believe that.
- 1:04:14Be your dream though. Danny dies versus Sacral.
- 1:04:16I would love to see that and, and that's my prediction right
- 1:04:19now. If you were to ask me right now
- 1:04:20who are the two best teams in the NFL, it would be the
- 1:04:24Indiana, Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1:04:27I think those are the two best teams in the league.
- 1:04:29And wouldn't that be fitting for all you Giant fans to see that
- 1:04:32in the Super Bowl in San Francisco?
- 1:04:34I don't know if that's going to happen.
- 1:04:36I would love to see it because I know Fish can't stand Saquon
- 1:04:40Barkley. He can't stand Danny Dimes as he
- 1:04:44has his middle finger up right now pointing at me.
- 1:04:46And I know all you guys, all the Giant fans do not want to see a
- 1:04:50Kev is a Giant fan. He don't want to see it.
- 1:04:52Nobody wants to see it. But it would be very fitting to
- 1:04:55me to see the two guys that I've been rooting for ever since
- 1:04:59they've moved on from one team to another and, and see them in
- 1:05:02the Super Bowl. And, and that means one of them
- 1:05:04are going to win the Super Bowl. So it'd be fun to watch.
- 1:05:07But I think it's the I think the Eagles are the best team right
- 1:05:10now in the NFLI. Don't think there's an argument.
- 1:05:11And A.J. Brown needs to keep his mouth
- 1:05:13shut. And if A.J.
- 1:05:14Brown could just stay on the field and be even 80% healthy,
- 1:05:17this Eagle team with a healthy Saquon Barkley, almost
- 1:05:21impossible. This defense hasn't even played
- 1:05:23at its top game yet. Think about this.
- 1:05:27This defense is way better than they've played.
- 1:05:30Jaylee Carter, who was one of the best defensive lineman in
- 1:05:33the league last year, has not been the same player he was last
- 1:05:35year. Just think about this, what he's
- 1:05:38going to be and what this defense is going to be when he
- 1:05:40when this whole team starts to play as well as they did last
- 1:05:44year in the second-half of the season.
- 1:05:45Watch out for the Philadelphia Eagles.
