- 0:15blocker. This is the Predators official
- 0:18podcast with Cara Hammer and Max hers for.
- 0:20The empty net and hits it on about.
- 0:23On 102.5 and 106.3. The game at

- 0:31point streak and we are on the Predators official podcast.
- 0:36You're on your exclusive radio home for Preds hockey, ESPN one
- 0:39O 2 five and one O 6 three. The game.
- 0:42The date of recording is Tuesday, October 29th.
- 0:45Some of you are also hearing this episode on One O 25 The
- 0:48Game on Wednesday night, October 30th as part of the hockey block
- 0:53here on your Home of Preds Radio.
- 0:55My name is Max Hers from Fred's radio along with Kara Hammer
- 0:58from Fred's TV. Hello Hammer.
- 1:01The standings points are starting that up for the Fred's
- 1:04who have gone from O5 and O to three, five and one with five
- 1:10points in four nights. Yeah, I think it was a big turn
- 1:14around for this team. Obviously, they're on this trend
- 1:17of starting, outgoing, down by two goals and finding a way to
- 1:22come back. But a big comeback last night in
- 1:24Tampa Bay for them and obviously a very, very emotional return to
- 1:29Tampa for one Steven Stamkos. Yeah, it was a big night and
- 1:35there were many, many sweet, fun, funny things said
- 1:41throughout the day. We're going to play a lot of
- 1:42them for you here as the Predators went to Tampa on
- 1:45Monday night, ended up losing 3, two in overtime.
- 1:48Stamkos had assists on both Preds goals his first multi
- 1:51point game as a Pred after just one point in his first eight
- 1:55games with the Preds, two big assists in his return to Tampa
- 1:59and a special night league wide and for Steven Stamkos and the
- 2:04way I want to introduce all this Kara is was something that
- 2:07Fred's coach Andrew Brunette said in response to R Robbie
- 2:10Stanley from one O 25 the game and nhl.com.
- 2:13Robbie Robbie knew he was he'd be writing an article about
- 2:16Stamkos's return in advance and there will be no more interviews
- 2:20between after the game on Saturday and arrival in Tampa on
- 2:23Monday. So he asked Andrew Brunette to
- 2:27look ahead to that right after the win against the Blue
- 2:29Jackets. And Bruno, in prime form right
- 2:32after the game, says with a smile.
- 2:35I think it's going to be a good thing to get it over with for
- 2:38all parties. But it was a weight on a lot of
- 2:40people's shoulders. He's not wrong.
- 2:43It was, I mean, during the Gladiator shoot, when we talked
- 2:46to the players before the season even starts, I specifically
- 2:49asked Steven Samkos, do you have this date marked on your
- 2:54calendar? And he said I'm aware of it.
- 2:56I know, I know it's coming. Yeah, the schedule's no secret,
- 3:00and I think it was good that it could be done early, and I think
- 3:03now it'll be business a little bit more as usual going forward.
- 3:07For Steven Stamkos, who is on the Nashville Predators and had
- 3:11two assists in his return to Tampa on Monday night.
- 3:14He did a lot of interviews throughout the day, a big press
- 3:17conference before the game, a big press conference after the
- 3:20game. One thing he said, Kara, that I
- 3:22think defines his early tenure with the Preds was in response
- 3:27to a question about the adjustment of changing teams for
- 3:31the first time ever in Year 17 as an NHL are here's Steven
- 3:35Stamkos. Certainly it's been an
- 3:38adjustment period, not only for me, for, for my family, for for
- 3:42your friends, everything. It's this is all I had had known
- 3:46my, my whole life as a professional athlete.
- 3:50So it's, it's certainly difficult in, in, in terms of
- 3:54that, but you know, certainly landed in, in a very good place
- 3:59in terms of, you know, a place that that is now home for, for
- 4:03my family. And, and that transition is, has
- 4:06been great. I think they've they've probably
- 4:09handled it a lot better than than I have personally.
- 4:11And in terms of, you know, obviously we didn't get off to
- 4:14the greatest start and in myself either.
- 4:16So you, you put that pressure on on yourself.
- 4:19So, you know, we, we've turned the page a little bit, but I
- 4:23think, you know, I probably thought that the family
- 4:26transition was going to be more difficult than than the hockey
- 4:29one. And it's kind of been the
- 4:30opposite. So but that, but that's, you
- 4:35know, I'd rather have it that way where my, my wife and and
- 4:37kids are are making the transition and then I can figure
- 4:41it out my myself. That's Stephen Stamkos.
- 4:43Kara. First of all, very selfless
- 4:45there to say, hey, I'd rather be the one who's struggling with my
- 4:48part of the deal. Then my wife and three kids are
- 4:51happy. That's what's most important to
- 4:52me. Yeah, I mean, it's a huge
- 4:54adjustment for these players. We experienced it last season
- 4:57when Ryan McDonough left Tampa, right, and came to Nashville.
- 5:00And he talked about his daughter writing him a letter saying
- 5:02like, hey, daddy, like, good luck in Tennessee.
- 5:06We're excited to move with you because these players are and
- 5:09their families are so accustomed to being in one spot and then
- 5:12everything in your world changes.
- 5:15Stamkos was asked if his kids, who are famous in Tampa, would
- 5:21be at the game. No kids.
- 5:24Yes family. Here's why, with a guest
- 5:27appearance by everybody's favorite cat.
- 5:30No, the kids aren't here to tonight.
- 5:34You know, they got school. So that's, that's, that's
- 5:36important. But you know, it's, it's funny,
- 5:41you know, you, you play here for so long and you have all those
- 5:45amazing memories and, you know, your kids being young, I mean,
- 5:49they might not remember that that aspect of it, like their
- 5:53new normal is being a Nashville Predator.
- 5:55And, you know, the mascot came over, I think the second day we
- 5:59came over and, and they flipped pretty quick.
- 6:01So it's, it's funny how that works.
- 6:05But you know, they're, they're enjoying it.
- 6:08They, they love coming to the rink.
- 6:09I mean, that's the, the beauty of, you know, unconditional
- 6:13love, right? You come home.
- 6:14It doesn't matter what kind of mood I'm in, they're happy to
- 6:18see dad and and they're, they're proud and and that's what helps
- 6:22you kind of sleep at night. The one the only Nash easing the
- 6:26transition for the Stamkos kiddos.
- 6:30There you go. And, you know, you have to
- 6:32assume that they were also watching on TV.
- 6:34So I'd be interested to see how the kids handled it, you know,
- 6:37seeing their dad go back to Tampa.
- 6:41Yeah, and it was an emotional moment and everybody knew that
- 6:44the tribute video would be at the first TV time out that would
- 6:48it would be an extended stoppage and a large moment of
- 6:51acknowledgement. Stamkos was asked in the morning
- 6:55how he thought he would handle it emotionally.
- 6:57Here's what he said before the game.
- 7:00Yeah, I mean, I, I not usually a, a very emotional guy in terms
- 7:07of letting people see the emotions.
- 7:10But you know, like I said, I don't, I don't know how it's
- 7:13going to be till that moment comes.
- 7:15I mean, you, you have an idea of what it is, but you can't
- 7:18replicate that, that feeling. It's, it's like anything, you
- 7:22know, the best feelings in your life, the worst feelings in your
- 7:24life, you, you don't know how you're going to react till you
- 7:26go through it. So certainly, you know, went
- 7:29through some of that in, in, in the summer with everything that
- 7:34went on. But I think this will be a a
- 7:36little different and, you know, we'll see how it plays out.
- 7:40We'll see how it plays out and I think it played out perfectly.
- 7:45It played out very emotionally. Of course, I was very fortunate
- 7:50to be at the game and announcing the game on Preds radio and I'll
- 7:53never take an opportunity like that for granted to announce any
- 7:56game, but let alone a moment of great hockey significance like
- 8:00last night was. And the tribute video was
- 8:03exceptional. It was unbelievably well done.
- 8:06I don't know if the Lightning made it, I would assume they did
- 8:08unless the NHL has a hand in something bigger like that.
- 8:12But it was incredibly well done. And and it wasn't all sunshine
- 8:16and roses. It wasn't all Stanley Cups.
- 8:18First at portrayed Stamkos's childhood.
- 8:22It portrayed his injury in the 2020 bubble playoffs in his
- 8:25return. It portrayed low moments.
- 8:28It portrayed high moments and the crowd was going nuts and
- 8:32Stamkos came off the bench to do a pretty full lap around the
- 8:37entire rink, which he said after the game.
- 8:40Care. I did not realize this was the
- 8:42same thing that Marty Saint Louis and Vinnie Le Cavalier did
- 8:45and their returns to Tampa. And he said he wanted to
- 8:48continue the precedent that they had set before him, his two
- 8:50former team mates. Wow, that's magical.
- 8:54From our point of view, watching it on the TV broadcast, we
- 8:58didn't see the full video. A lot more shots just of
- 9:00close-ups of of stammer on the bench.
- 9:03But one thing that really stood out to me was how many times
- 9:06they went to John Cooper, the bench boss for Tampa Bay, and he
- 9:10was mouthing the words. Wow, wow.
- 9:13Like just looking back, reminiscing what it was like to
- 9:16have Sam close on his team. But for you to be there, Max, I
- 9:20mean it, it, it felt loud watching from my couch.
- 9:23How loud was it to be there in person?
- 9:26Oh it was unbelievable. And and then as soon as the game
- 9:29got back going, Stamkos wasn't even on the ice on the 1st shift
- 9:32after that, which I think was a nice move by Andrew Brunette to
- 9:35to let him catch his breath there after getting real high
- 9:39heartbeat. I would imagine in a moment like
- 9:41that. But it was big chance you heard
- 9:44it from the crowd. They were chanting Stephen
- 9:45Stamkos lightning threatening as a Stephen Stamkos chant breaks
- 9:49out. The man's not even on the ice.
- 9:52He's not on their team. He's not on the ice, and they
- 9:54love him more than anybody. And when the PA announcer, Paul
- 10:06Porter, who's a friend of our Paul McCann's and I think is an
- 10:09exceptional PA announcer, when he announced the two Preds goals
- 10:13and announced Stamkos as an assistor on both, the crowd
- 10:16cheered as if a Lightning goal had just been announced.
- 10:19So it was incessant, the love and support for Steven Stamkos.
- 10:23And two other things I would like to say about the video.
- 10:25I didn't realize they didn't show the whole thing on TV.
- 10:27I, I guess they want to show the faces and that makes sense.
- 10:31But I'm sad you guys didn't get to see it.
- 10:33But the Lightning did tweet it. If anybody wants to see it.
- 10:35They tweeted it right after it played on the scoreboard.
- 10:38First, I want to say a couple more things about John Cooper
- 10:41since you brought him up, and I'm glad you did.
- 10:43So Cooper is the longest tenured NHL head coach by far in a sport
- 10:48where the coaches don't last too long.
- 10:50Andrew Brunette, by the way, it is in the first month of his
- 10:54second season as the Preds head coach, is already in the top
- 10:57half of longest tenured NHL head coaches currently.
- 11:00Is that not insane? He's 15th out of 32 based on the
- 11:04date he was hired. Yeah, yeah, ridiculous.
- 11:07But anyway, John Cooper became the Bolts head coach in March of
- 11:132013. This is his 11th full season as
- 11:16the Tampa Bay Lightning head coach, and looking back at
- 11:19Stamkos's early career in preparation for this game, he
- 11:24had four head coaches in his first five seasons.
- 11:28And the one thing that I I remembered in the back of my
- 11:31mind, but it didn't really stick with me fully, how insane.
- 11:36It was the summer when Stamkos was drafted 2008 and debuted
- 11:41immediately as the number one overall pick.
- 11:43The Lightning pulled Barry Melrose off of ESPN after a
- 11:47decade and a half out of coaching to come be the big name
- 11:51head coach, to be Steven Stamkos's first NHL head coach,
- 11:56and he left after 16 games. Rick Talkett became the interim
- 12:01coached the rest of that season, coached one more full season.
- 12:05Then they had Guy Boucher for 2 1/2 seasons.
- 12:07And then Cooper came in. He played for four head coaches
- 12:11in his first five seasons, and Cooper is the 9th head coach in
- 12:16Lightning history, dating back to their first head coach, the
- 12:19great Terry Crisp, for the first six seasons starting in 1992.
- 12:24But yeah, the turmoil Stamco's face at the beginning of his
- 12:27career, like he was playing under 5 minutes in a vice time
- 12:30some games in that first month under Melrose.
- 12:33Crazy start. He didn't score a goal until his
- 12:349th game. He barely played.
- 12:37Can I, can I tell you a little story that happened to me over
- 12:40the weekend, please? Do I my brother in
- 13:02And I said, yeah, he goes, I got a pack of cards back then and I
- 13:07was having a conversation with my friend and we decided, let's
- 13:10keep this card. This guy might be a star.
- 13:13And I, I said, well, you know, maybe I could get the sign for
- 13:18you. He goes, oh, no, we have it in
- 13:20glass now. It doesn't come out of the
- 13:22plastic case. So shout out to to my stepfather
- 13:27in law for knowing back then Steven Samkos was going to be a
- 13:33star. Wow, Yeah, that's a valuable
- 13:36piece of cardboard right there. It is and a valuable moment that
- 13:41you got to experience in person. Yeah, watching him make his
- 13:44return to Tampa. One more thing about the video,
- 13:46if I may, as we as we turn back the clock to early Stamkos.
- 13:50So they showed a couple moments of his childhood playing hockey,
- 13:53which is awesome, and then they showed the moments of the
- 13:56Stanley Cup final in 2020 and 2021 when the Lightning won.
- 14:00I gotta say, Stephen Stamkos when he was 12 looks way more
- 14:06like his current self than Stephen Stamkos when he was 30
- 14:11and had a massive beard and long hair for the playoffs.
- 14:13His child self looked more like his actual self than his Stanley
- 14:17Cup adult self. It's the playoff beard.
- 14:21It gets you every time. But he looks exactly the same as
- 14:25a kid. One of the pictures was from he
- 14:28may have been 15 or an early teenager or maybe even a preteen
- 14:33playing for the Markham Waxers in his hometown of Markham ON
- 14:36Canada. He looks literally exactly the
- 14:39same as he does right now. I thought that one time before
- 14:43about Nick Benigno, not to go back to to when the press didn't
- 14:46win the Stanley Cup. Obviously he was on the on the
- 14:49winning side of things. But when he came to Nashville
- 14:51the next season and lost his beard, I felt like he had shaved
- 14:54off 10 years of his life. I felt the same way about Ryan
- 14:57O'Reilly at his introductory press conference 2 summers ago.
- 15:01Cuz like all the Ryan O'Reilly in my head I've never met him
- 15:04before. Obviously is from the Blues
- 15:062019. Beard grizzle everything and
- 15:10it's the summer. So he he's wearing a plain white
- 15:12tee and shorts and as is as shaved down as I've ever seen
- 15:17him. It's like, Oh my God, like this
- 15:18is just like a normal guy. And it's not the the playoff
- 15:22beast that is emblazoned in my brain.
- 15:25Yeah. But I just thought that was so
- 15:27funny, so, Stamko said before the game.
- 15:31He's not too emotional outwardly.
- 15:34If there were ever a night to show it, it would be in that
- 15:37moment. And he said he was happy he got
- 15:39back to the bench when he did because there were some tears
- 15:41that were about to come that he was able to breathe and I think
- 15:45hold in, maybe a couple slip down, who knows.
- 15:49But Stamkos had a very touching quote after the game on what all
- 15:52of this meant and how he internalized the reaction from
- 15:56Tampa. Yeah, for sure.
- 15:57I mean, I don't think it's goodbye.
- 15:59I think it's more of a, you know, thank you, see you later
- 16:02type type of thing. But like I said, pretty, pretty
- 16:06emotional, you know, you see where it all began as an 18 year
- 16:11old kid is, is right here where I grew up, as you know, from a
- 16:15boy to a man and you know, a Stanley Cup champion husband,
- 16:19the father, you know, son. I mean, it's just, you know,
- 16:24most of my life has been here. So it, it's definitely
- 16:27emotional, but at the same time it's, it's a fun place for me
- 16:32to, to play hockey. You almost feel at ease being,
- 16:34being here. So I thought that was cool as
- 16:37well. It's a cool night, Kara, when
- 16:40everybody in the building grabs the same sweater with the same
- 16:44name on the back and I I think at least 50% of the crowd was
- 16:48wearing a Stamkos jersey, either Nashville or Tampa.
- 16:52Yeah, it's so special. And, and you know, Max, even
- 16:54before the game, PK Subban put out a a post about how emotional
- 16:59it is to be a player to return. You know, he talked about when
- 17:02he was in Nashville and going back to Montreal.
- 17:04And in his video, it showed him crying upon his return.
- 17:06But it felt like everybody across the league was waiting to
- 17:11watch last night. And also it it was special for
- 17:15the guys on the ice with him, too.
- 17:18Yeah, we got some reactions from Fred's players throughout the
- 17:21day. We'll go in chronological order.
- 17:23This is Tommy Novak, pregame on Preds radio, who was playing on
- 17:27a line with Stamkos in the game, talking about what he was
- 17:30expecting. Yeah, it'll be cool to see him.
- 17:32I already see a legend of the game and come back to, you know,
- 17:35where he spent so many years. It's it's going to be like a
- 17:38movie, like probably seen there. And Tommy Novak was cast in that
- 17:42movie as his everyman line mate playing with the big dog.
- 17:48It's special and when we get into talking about the game, I
- 17:51mean, imagine being Tommy Novak on the ice for the overtime with
- 17:54Stephen Stamkos in his return to Tampa.
- 17:57Yeah, at the first intermission, Jeremy Lozan was with Hal and I
- 18:00on Preds radio, and we started right off asking him about the
- 18:04tribute in the ceremony as a teammate.
- 18:07Preds defenseman Jeremy Lozan is our first intermission guest.
- 18:10Jeremy, what was it like being down there for that moment for
- 18:13Stephen Stamkos? I think it was.
- 18:16I had chills. Obviously, yeah.
- 18:18Steven was was in Tampa for 17 years, so it's special moment
- 18:22for him and I'm glad that he was able to enjoy it.
- 18:27That's Jeremy Lauzon and then after the game, an equally
- 18:31beloved veteran who has done something similar before.
- 18:34Change teams, come back to where he won a Cup, to where he was
- 18:37the captain. Not quite on the same scale, but
- 18:40Ryan O'Reilly knows what all of this is like.
- 18:42Yeah, that was, that was obviously, I think, you know,
- 18:44emotional, you know, for everyone.
- 18:46I like seeing that, yeah, just such a impactful player for
- 18:51hockey. And you just see it there, all
- 18:53he's done and just, yeah, it was very emotional.
- 18:56And again, it would have been it would have been nice to get him
- 18:58that way. But, and O'Reilly very
- 19:00complimentary of Stamko saying this was his best by far as a
- 19:05pred. I think he had assists on both
- 19:07Preds goals, including a massive game tying goal that he was
- 19:11right in the middle of to tie the game late in the second
- 19:15period and icing waved off as Shay retreats.
- 19:18Puck did not go far enough, stretch past the Stamkos open on
- 19:21the right in front for Nyquist and a scores Gus Nyquist from
- 19:28Steven Stamkos. Predators tie the game with 1:20
- 19:32left in the second. It's a 2 point night for Stamkos
- 19:36in his return to Tampa. Nice play all around.
- 19:39Kara Shay to Stamkos to Nyquist, the game tying goal late in the
- 19:44second that would eventually get the game to Oti.
- 19:49Think we could talk about Samco's, we could talk about
- 19:51what the offense said, getting the team back into it.
- 19:53But Max, when I look back at last night, that third period,
- 19:57for me it was all UC sorrows. Insane.
- 20:01The Lightning were buzzing that top line with Jake Genzel taking
- 20:05Stamco's place this season on a new big contract with Point and
- 20:09Kucharov. They were everywhere.
- 20:12Soros was up for the task again and again and again.
- 20:16There was a left pad flash on Anthony Sorelli late in that
- 20:20game that spellbound Hal Gill here on Preds radio Pass Open
- 20:27Sorelli rod by UC Soros. Soros with the left pad.
- 20:33Sorelli was right there and the net was staring him in the face
- 20:38until it wasn't. Holy.
- 20:39Juice. You've heard of holy water?
- 20:42Now there's holy juice Cara. Holy juice that I mean numerous
- 20:46times last night I think I said holy juice.
- 20:48That was he was standing on his head keeping the preds in that
- 20:52game. I was one of those moments Max
- 20:54where you on the I start looking back and you have to think we
- 20:58have to win this game based off of how Soros is playing.
- 21:01Obviously the feds weren't able to pull it out in overtime, but
- 21:03a big night for them to pick up the point and put themselves, as
- 21:07we mentioned, at 3, five and one.
- 21:09Yeah, 4 game points streak here after an O and five start,
- 21:12including five standings points in three games in four nights.
- 21:16We will recap wins over the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus
- 21:20Blue Jackets over the weekend. Coming up next year on the
- 21:23Predators official podcast, she's Kara Hammer from Preds TV.
- 21:26I'm Max Sirs from Predators radio.
- 21:28You were listening to the POP on your exclusive radio home for
- 21:32Preds hockey, ESPN. One O 2 five and one O 6 three
- 21:35the game. Welcome back to Steven Samkos in
- 21:57Tampa and also welcome back to the Predators official podcast
- 22:00here on 102.5 and 106.3 The Game.
- 22:04My name is Max, Hers from Preds Radio along with Kara Hammer of
- 22:07Preds TV. Kara, that's a classic old
- 22:10school hip hop there. Welcome back by Mace.
- 22:14Not sure if Chris Mason is also the musical artist Mace, but
- 22:19they're both American and we've never seen both maces in the
- 22:22same places so maybe they are the same.
- 22:26OK, now we're rhyming. Well, since we're on the subject
- 22:28of music, if you have not yet seen the video of the rapper
- 22:35with a song titled Roman Yossi, I highly suggest you go on to
- 22:40social media right now and please watch that.
- 22:43Yeah, this is like the Swiss version of Gangnam Style.
- 22:45I guess this is how you get your name out there.
- 22:47You rap about Roman Yossi. I love it though because in the
- 22:51music video that I watch, the rapper who's rapping that's not
- 22:54even wearing a Yossi jersey. It's just like the hype man in
- 22:57the background. Yeah, I think he's just like, I
- 23:01live my life like Roman Yossi. I dominate life.
- 23:03I'm the captain. I'm.
- 23:04I never come off the ice. I think it's a mentality kind of
- 23:07thing. Not that I understand any of the
- 23:09lyrics, but. I I was very confused by it all.
- 23:13I did see like a Google like translate for it.
- 23:15Who knows if it's correct or not because it is the Internet, but
- 23:19it it was like hyphen. Yeah, Yossi up.
- 23:21He's the guy. Well, our German translator is
- 23:23Pete Weber. He doesn't quite speak Swiss
- 23:26German. He gets most of it, but it is a
- 23:28little different. Pete has warned us.
- 23:30So yeah, maybe we'll get Pete on that one.
- 23:33But I was thinking about it last night.
- 23:34I didn't get to mention it during the game on the radio,
- 23:36'cause there was a lot of good in the game to talk about.
- 23:39But it was it was a rap rivalry. Roman Yossi against the great
- 23:44Zemgus Gergensen's who has a Latvian rap song written about
- 23:47him from when the entire country of Latvia stuffed the ballot box
- 23:52to get him into the NHL All Star game like 10 years ago when he
- 23:55was on the Sabres. So yeah, not the same artist,
- 23:59but same hustle for two players from underrepresented European
- 24:04hockey countries who produce some great players. 9 Swiss guys
- 24:07in the NHL now including JJ Moser.
- 24:10So a top pair defenseman on each team last night was from Roman
- 24:14Yossi's home country. Predators are on a four-game
- 24:17point streak, including five out of a possible 6 standings points
- 24:21in a back-to-back this past weekend, and they went down to
- 24:25nothing in all three of those games.
- 24:28We'll go back to Friday night in Chicago to start the weekend
- 24:31back-to-back against the Blackhawks.
- 24:33Predators were not good at the start of this game, Went down to
- 24:36nothing, and as they did in two of the three games, we're going
- 24:40to go down 3 nothing, but had a successful offside challenge to
- 24:43get the game back to two. Nothing, then scored late in the
- 24:46second to get the game back within reach.
- 24:48Ended up tying it up at the end of two and took the lead in the
- 24:52third. Philip Forsberg had a massive
- 24:54goal in this game. Care to get the scoring started?
- 24:57Took a handoff from Gus Nyquist just inside the offensive blue
- 25:00line and zipped right in on goal.
- 25:03Goal of the season so far for the Preds for Philip Forsberg on
- 25:05Friday in Chicago. Yeah, it's a huge comeback.
- 25:09I I didn't like the start of that game.
- 25:10I I didn't like seeing Craig Smith in a Blackhawks jersey
- 25:14scoring against Nashville. That really just ticked me off
- 25:17to start. But, you know, going down to
- 25:20nothing, They, they just looked slow.
- 25:22They looked discombobulated. Then, you know, Phil kind of got
- 25:26him back into it. But I think that Brady Shay
- 25:29getting the the getting the game-winning goal, that's this
- 25:32is a guy who's still been struggling to acclimate a little
- 25:35bit and still trying to find his rhythm within the team.
- 25:38And anytime you watch the puck go in the back of the net, it's
- 25:41a huge confidence boost. And I think that it really kind
- 25:44of got him going and it was a big moment for for Shay.
- 25:48Yeah, I thought he was good in the back-to-back this weekend.
- 25:51Here's the goal. It was scored by the second
- 25:53power play unit with under 7 minutes left in the game.
- 25:57Trying to get the puck out high, Shay couldn't get there.
- 26:00Now Shay on the left half wall to the blue line, Novak Shay
- 26:04with a shot to score and the Predators tally on the power
- 26:09play to take a 3-2 lead. Mark Jankowski with the screen.
- 26:15Brady Shay gave him all the credit, forgetting in Peter
- 26:18Mrazak's eyes, Tommy Novak and Luke Evangelista with the
- 26:22assists, Brady Shea with the game winner as the Preds beat
- 26:25the Blackhawks 3:00 to 2:00 on Saturday night or Friday night.
- 26:28Excuse me? I think special teams has really
- 26:31been clicking. It was nice to watch the power
- 26:32play come together. I asked about Special Teams with
- 26:36Brady Shea in the skate up before the Columbus game,
- 26:40specifically about the penalty kill unit.
- 26:42Max, 'cause they have been, they've been great.
- 26:44It's probably been the best part of Preds hockey that we've seen
- 26:47so far to start. And he said that that really
- 26:50seems to be working amongst them.
- 26:52And obviously you know, it it, it almost felt like Deja vu,
- 26:55right going into the Columbus game and all of a sudden the
- 26:58Preds go down to to nothing again and you're thinking, do
- 27:01they have another comeback in them?
- 27:02Like what's happening? Why is it two goals again to
- 27:05start? And then it was a four on four
- 27:08goal for Philip Forsberg on a little rush with Ryan O'Reilly.
- 27:12And Phil's a big soccer guy, so we'll use the soccer term to
- 27:15describe that goal and overlapping run four on four.
- 27:19O'Reilly with a little drop pass pushes the defender back and
- 27:23Philip Forsberg sent the Neil Terrace of the Blue Jacket
- 27:27goalie into another stratosphere with that one.
- 27:29He had no idea where to go to try and block that.
- 27:32Fuck. That's what a Philip Forsberg
- 27:34shot will do to an unproven goalie.
- 27:36Back out the Preds on the board 2 to one.
- 27:38They end up tying it up in the 1st shift of the third period.
- 27:42First of two goals in the third period from the fourth line.
- 27:46This one may have been doubly accidental.
- 27:49Kara Michael McCarron, I think, was trying to throw the puck in
- 27:52front. He ended up sweeping it back to
- 27:54Cole Smith in the left circle. Smith couldn't even see the net
- 27:58and he shot it and it went in. Zach LaRue with the screen and a
- 28:02whole lot of traffic along the way.
- 28:04First of two big game tying goals in the third period for
- 28:08the fourth line on their first two shifts of the period.
- 28:11In fact, Alex Carrier defenceman scored the second one.
- 28:14Zach LaRue had the screen again there for his first NHL point.
- 28:19He was pretty close to tipping both of those.
- 28:21LaRue said for what would have been his first NHL goal on
- 28:25either occurrence. But great job by the 4th line.
- 28:28You spoke with Cole Smith after what would be a four three
- 28:31overtime win. Talking about how the 4th do you
- 28:34actually do you want to and one of those 4th liners in on two
- 28:37goals. Scorer of one of them, Cole
- 28:39Smith, was with you Hammer after the game on Fred's TV.
- 28:43Guys were down 2 to one to start the third, but your line came
- 28:46out firing. Kind of take us through the
- 28:48start of that period. Yeah, I mean, a focus for us was
- 28:51just getting the puck in deep and just stabbing herself.
- 28:54And you know, Macker and the Z there had a very good four check
- 28:59and I was lucky enough to be sitting right there in the dot
- 29:00and they hit me and shot found its way in on ice.
- 29:03So I'll take that any day. Zach LaRue picks up his first
- 29:06point in the National Hockey League on Carrie A's goal.
- 29:09What has he brought to your line?
- 29:11I mean, he's, he's a fast straight line player.
- 29:13He's got a lot of energy and you can see it the way he plays.
- 29:15He's he fits us very well. You know, we're, we're a
- 29:18straight line kind of line and he gets in the fore check.
- 29:21He's hard, he's physical and he can make those little plays too.
- 29:23So he's been a huge addition to us in the last few games.
- 29:26And talk about Wedgewood, I mean, he was able to really keep
- 29:28you guys in this one. Yeah, You know, it's coming in
- 29:31on a game like that and you know, as a backup he had a heck
- 29:34of a game. You know, we have full
- 29:36confidence in him back there and he's made some saves that I
- 29:38don't know how he made them. And you know, he's then today we
- 29:41got to have a goalie and make some big saves like that and he
- 29:44got US1 tonight, that's for sure.
- 29:45That's Cole Smith with you, Kara.
- 29:47And I think the three big stories of this game, the fourth
- 29:51line, the backup goalie Scott Wedgwood, and then a beautiful
- 29:56overtime goal from new Pred Jonathan Marsha.
- 29:59So those are the three reasons the Preds were able to come back
- 30:02and beat the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
- 30:05Yeah, that third period, Scott Wedgwood had had big time saves
- 30:08help them get into overtime. Then overtime started Max and
- 30:13you know, the the first players to go out were Yossi, O'Reilly
- 30:17and Forsberg. And you're kind of thinking, all
- 30:19right, that they're going to do what they always do.
- 30:21Then when they come over the boards, you're wondering, well,
- 30:24well, what's Bruno going to do here?
- 30:25Because now you have Stamkos, now you have Marcia.
- 30:27So you know, you still have players like Novak, you know,
- 30:30who's going to be the next line that rolls out.
- 30:33And it was Jonathan Marcia. So, and as the kids would say,
- 30:37he broke ankles on the ice. Right circle the shot, that one
- 30:42goes off Tarasov. Marcia so picks up the rebound,
- 30:46coming back with it now Marcia so but he's far Predators
- 30:52winning over 5. Jonathan Marciseau, it's 4/3.
- 30:58Jonathan Marciseau playing the role of host or sommelier.
- 31:02He took Damon Severson right to his table on the back wall of
- 31:06the establishment and showed him his seat.
- 31:09Lower body injuries. Kara 2 broken ankles for Damon
- 31:13Severson. I mean, it was a beautiful goal.
- 31:17It was so fun that Smashville just erupted.
- 31:20I mean, Max, I was one of the prettiest goals that I have ever
- 31:24probably seen. And it it really showed the
- 31:27skill set of Jonathan Marshall. So and so then when the press
- 31:30went into overtime against Tampa Bay, weren't you kind of
- 31:32wondering, well, who's Bruno going to put out there now after
- 31:35what we just saw Saturday night against Columbus?
- 31:37Yeah, and he moved Stamkos up in the order a little bit after he
- 31:40was not part of the 1st 2 trios on Saturday.
- 31:43And I like that. Give him a little hometown
- 31:46flavor. He let him play a full power
- 31:47play in that game as well. Stayed out there with the second
- 31:50unit. So yeah, you get a lot of cards
- 31:53in the deck all of a sudden for three on three.
- 31:55And the Preds have been exceptional on both, four on
- 31:58four and three on three this season, 5 on five.
- 32:01They've still got a laundry list of things to sort out, but in
- 32:04those open, nice situations, they've been a whole lot of fun.
- 32:07And Jonathan Marshall so was a whole lot of fun for that
- 32:10game-winning goal. He gave Brady Shea a lot of the
- 32:12credit for it in his post game interview with you as he was
- 32:15announced as the number one star headlining a Quebec qua trio of
- 32:19stars in Smashville. You asked Marcia so some great
- 32:22questions on the bench. A lot of folks heard this in the
- 32:24arena and on TV on Saturday night after a big dub in
- 32:28Smashville. Jonathan Saturday night in
- 32:31Smashville and you guys get the overtime win.
- 32:33Take us through that shift. I mean, it was just a good zone
- 32:37entry by Shay there. I think he he used his speed and
- 32:39his talent there and he just made a good play and just trying
- 32:43to move my feet there and he was open on the back door and I was
- 32:46just able to to bring it to the net.
- 32:48Talk about how big the fourth line was for this group tonight.
- 32:52I mean, it's all them. I think they're the, they're the
- 32:55first start at night. I think they're they're the one
- 32:57that brought us back in that game and they were unbelievable,
- 33:01to be honest. It was just nice and simple
- 33:03hockey and we need more more of that in our in our on our team.
- 33:08You guys get the back-to-back. You're now in a three-game win
- 33:11streak. Are things trending in the right
- 33:13direction? Well, after a tough start like
- 33:17we had we we had to battle back here in their season and
- 33:20obviously we're really early in the season, but winning it
- 33:23back-to-back and especially Saturday night than the had
- 33:25Bridgestone. I think it's it's a good feeling
- 33:27for sure all. Right.
- 33:28Congrats. Thank you.
- 33:30Great interview Kara with Jonathan Marshall so.
- 33:33It's a good feeling. Just feels right to be picking
- 33:39up Dubs and getting some points going.
- 33:40And I was not perfect in this 3:00 and 4:00 but they played
- 33:44three and four. They got great goaltending
- 33:46throughout. 2 from UC Soros, one from Scott Wedgwood to make sure
- 33:51those points go in the Preds pockets.
- 33:53And they are three, five and one after an O5 and O start.
- 33:57The worst five game start in franchise history.
- 34:00First time ever the Preds lost the first five games of a
- 34:03season. Well, they've come out of it
- 34:05with points and four straight games and they begin a
- 34:07three-game home stand on Thursday night, Halloween night
- 34:12against the Edmonton Oilers, Saturday night in Smashville
- 34:15against the Avalanche and then Monday night against the Kings.
- 34:19So three home games in five days before the Predators begin a
- 34:22road heavy stretch where they will be on the road for seven of
- 34:26the next eight and eight of the next 10 games starting in the
- 34:29second week of November up through the week of Thanksgiving
- 34:32when they will be back home for home games on Thanksgiving Eve
- 34:36and Black Friday afternoon. But there been a lot of home
- 34:39games early, which means you got to have a lot of Rd. games to
- 34:41make up for it. And the Preds did not bank as
- 34:44many points as they would have hoped, starting with nine of the
- 34:461st 12 games at home. But they've still got some
- 34:49chances to make up for it and make up for it they have here in
- 34:52this last week. And I think the way that was
- 34:54illustrated, Kara, Jonathan Marshall said they were the
- 34:57number one star. The fourth line dug themselves
- 35:00out of a hole. It had been a really bad start
- 35:03to the season and even strength for the fourth line for the
- 35:05Predators. Michael Mcgarran and Cole Smith
- 35:08were pushing -10 early on in this season.
- 35:12They were great with Zach LaRue throughout this week, especially
- 35:15on Saturday night against the Blue Jackets, generating a
- 35:18couple goals. And after the game on Preds
- 35:20Radio, Michael Mccarran, the center of that fourth line,
- 35:23acknowledged that this was the turn around that the fourth line
- 35:26needed to show so that they can carry the team like they're
- 35:29counted to in their own way. It's good to play with him.
- 35:32Yeah, he played the same way as Smitty and I.
- 35:33We just hound box and it was nice for him to get rewarded.
- 35:36I think we've had three, three pretty good games together as a
- 35:38group, as a line. And it was nice, nice for for
- 35:43our line to to step up in a big way and and help the team get a
- 35:46win because, you know, a few other games earlier in the year,
- 35:50we've been, we've been, you know, taking a few minuses and
- 35:53turning our team a little bit. So it was good to good to help
- 35:56our team win, win a game tonight.
- 35:57And we'll continue continue to go.
- 36:00As the hockey people say, a lot of dashes were piling up for the
- 36:04fourth line and that changed in a big way on Saturday and they
- 36:09weren't quite as impactful on Monday.
- 36:11But they had a lot of shifts on the road, out of TV timeouts,
- 36:16starting periods, defensive zone, and I think they did their
- 36:22thing. And Zach LaRue has been a big
- 36:23reason why the Preds have standings points in all four
- 36:26games since he was called up to join McCarron and Smith there.
- 36:30I expect that we're going to see more Zach LaRue and Max I I
- 36:33think that it's getting close to this line.
- 36:35They're going to need a name. You know, when they lost Kiefer
- 36:37Sherwood, you could no longer call them the Americans.
- 36:40And now, now we have a, a Canadian on the fourth line.
- 36:44So maybe we'll put it out to the podcast listeners to tweet us.
- 36:47What do you want to call the this this trio that comes out?
- 36:51Because obviously, you know, they're so dominant to start.
- 36:54It's Bruno's. Got to love them.
- 36:56Yeah, and there are auxiliary members of the line who I don't
- 36:59think are ever leaving, Zach Larue's parents who have been at
- 37:02all four games this week, including the road game.
- 37:05So hopefully they stick around forever.
- 37:07They might need some donations to make that happen, but they.
- 37:11Yeah, hopeful. Hopefully Robert and Siobhan
- 37:14LaRue never leave. Well, I heard from Siobhan said
- 37:18when I interviewed her that it's expensive to get to Nashville
- 37:20from Montreal. So it probably is a little bit
- 37:22more cost beneficial to just stay in America.
- 37:26Do a few, do a few of the road games.
- 37:28Now they're back at home, so you get a few more games at
- 37:30Bridgestone Arena versus having to travel back and forth.
- 37:33Yeah, and as Chris Mason would say, God Bless America.
- 37:36We're happy to have him here here on Preds Radio and the
- 37:38Predators Official Podcast. She's Carrie Hammer from Preds
- 37:41TV. I'm Max Herz from Preds Radio.
- 37:43We'll be back to tell you what's coming up in Smashville during
- 37:46this three-game homestand hockey, Halloween and Star Wars
- 37:49night this week. This is the Predators official
- 37:52podcast here on ESPN. One O 2 five and one O 6 three
- 37:55the game. This is The Predator's official
- 38:15podcast here on your exclusive radio home for Predators Hockey.
- 38:19ESPN 102.5 and 106.3 The Game. My name is Max Hers from Preds
- 38:24Radio with Kara Hammer from Preds TV.
- 38:27Preds are back home for a three-game home stand starting
- 38:30on Halloween night, Thursday night and I guess Kara, we
- 38:34should get the Halloween tunes going.
- 38:35That's my bad. But I don't know.
- 38:37I haven't really been too scared recently.
- 38:39I'm not in the mood. Maybe you just think the monster
- 38:42mash. I feel like that's the best
- 38:44Halloween song. Yeah, I think we'll put.
- 38:46It for Thriller I mean right? Does does Thriller count as a
- 38:49Halloween song? It does, but I don't know it's
- 38:51that's an Evergreen Halloween. So I we'll go monster mash the
- 38:55next segment and I will restrain myself from playing the I Think
- 38:59You Should Leave Halloween song that I played last year on
- 39:01Halloween that you did not get the reference.
- 39:06I still don't get it. Yeah, well, it says you're a
- 39:08normal person, so I'm I'm the weird one.
- 39:10But you can all be weird on Halloween.
- 39:12And let's get weird in Smashville.
- 39:14Halloween night hockey on Thursday against the Oilers.
- 39:17That is the Predators next game. The game is at 7.
- 39:20We want everybody to come in costume, kids, parents, everyone
- 39:24in between come in a Halloween costume to the game.
- 39:27There is a costume contest. There is trick or treating on
- 39:31the concourse before the game for kids.
- 39:33There will be some candy at the Preds radio desk behind section
- 39:36112 I believe and don't blame me if there isn't.
- 39:40So come see us, come get some candy.
- 39:42And you don't even have to bring your trick or treating bucket
- 39:45because the 1st 5000 kids aged 12 and younger will get a Preds
- 39:49Halloween candy bucket when they walk into the game on Thursday
- 39:53night. And there is also a kids costume
- 39:56hangout and a big group picture with Nash.
- 40:00Who knows what Nash is going to be dressed as.
- 40:02He's got a million costumes in his dressing room.
- 40:06So we'll see what Nash is dressed as.
- 40:08And there will be a kids Halloween hangout with Nash at
- 40:11the first intermission on Thursday night in the brand new
- 40:14Nashville Kids Zone. I know many of you have been
- 40:17there already. This is a new area this season.
- 40:20It's in the space that used to be the Tennessee Sports Hall of
- 40:23Fame, which has moved outside of the arena, and now we've got a
- 40:27massive kid zone. There You go in the fan
- 40:30information entrance, right under the escalator by the main
- 40:34entrance at the corner of 5th and Broadway.
- 40:36You walk in the arena the normal way, go straight under those
- 40:39escalators that are straight ahead of you.
- 40:41Go to the right, down that hallway.
- 40:43You'll see some meeting rooms. And then at the end of the
- 40:46hallway on your right is the kid zone.
- 40:48It's got a big hockey rink in it.
- 40:50That's where the bubble hockey games have gone as well.
- 40:52And there's lots of fun arcade style kid stuff in there.
- 40:56That's where you need it would be Thursday night for Hockey
- 40:58Halloween. First intermission with Nash and
- 41:03maybe even Karen Hammer will be dressing up with Remy too when
- 41:06they get back to Smashville this weekend.
- 41:08We'll be there. We will be dressed up.
- 41:12One other thing going on this home stand on Monday night, game
- 41:17three of the three-game homestand Tanner's, you know
- 41:20Kevin Fiala and the LA Kings will be here on Monday night,
- 41:23November 4th and it is Star Wars night.
- 41:26The Kings are the dark side. You can get a Star Wars ticket
- 41:29package and get a limited edition Nashville Predators Star
- 41:33Wars jersey with your ticket. Go to
- 41:36nashvillepredators.com/theme nights.
- 41:39You need the special ticket package to get the jersey.
- 41:42I don't know enough about Star Wars.
- 41:44Care to tell you what logo this is?
- 41:46That's on it, but it's one of the things from Star Wars.
- 41:49So clearly I'm, I'm not in the market for this, but I know many
- 41:52of you are Star Wars people. In fact, everyone other than me
- 41:56is and I'm the loser. So go to
- 41:58nashvillepredators.com/theme Nights.
- 42:00You can see the sweater there and it's different from last
- 42:03year. I know many of you got the the
- 42:04Baby Yoda one from last year, which was awesome.
- 42:07We got a new one this year. This is the only way to get it.
- 42:09Nashville predators.com/theme Nights.
- 42:13And maybe next year we'll get someone better versed on Star
- 42:16Wars than me to do this advertising.
- 42:18But for now, you're stuck with me.
- 42:20What? What can you offer here?
- 42:22I have nothing. We need a special guest host to
- 42:24come in for our Star Wars promos.
- 42:27I mean, Harrison Ford, That's like my knowledge.
- 42:31Princess Leia. I thought you meant we should
- 42:33try and book Harrison Ford. I was like, yeah, I'm sure
- 42:35that'll go really well. Hey, Harrison, you wanna come on
- 42:37a hockey podcast? You know, when my dad was
- 42:40younger, he did, he did look a little bit like Harrison Ford
- 42:43and had been mistaken a few times on airplanes for people
- 42:46thinking that's what it was. And that's about, that's as far
- 42:50as I go with any sort of knowledge.
- 42:52Did he roll with it when people would say he was Harrison Ford?
- 42:56No, but I always thought it was really cool, like, oh wow,
- 42:58pretty, you know that that works.
- 43:00Yeah, yeah. I thought it was cooler when it
- 43:03was more of like an Indiana Jones thing.
- 43:06Oh yeah, yeah. Well, it depends on how he's
- 43:09dressed probably as well. Like if he's, if he's got his
- 43:11lightsaber, it's one way. If he's got his satchel, it's
- 43:16Indiana Jones. Or his rope?
- 43:18Is that what he had? He had a rope.
- 43:20I just know a satchel is what Indiana Jones has and it's
- 43:23referenced in the Hangover. Again, we're we're very cultured
- 43:29here on the POP. We're going to take a break,
- 43:31come back. We've got an interview for the
- 43:32week coming your way as the Freds get ready to start a
- 43:35three-game homestand Thursday night against the Edmonds and
- 43:37Oilers, who may be without Connor McDavid for that game.
- 43:41He was injured in their six one loss Monday night against the
- 43:43Blue Jackets in Columbus and reportedly went back to Edmonton
- 43:47to get medical testing done on Tuesday.
- 43:50So I would say probably unlikely.
- 43:52McDavid is back for a single Rd. game before they return home
- 43:56this week, so Fred's maybe catching a break there.
- 43:58We have course hope Connor McDavid is OK and not going to
- 44:01miss too much time, but he may not play on Thursday night in
- 44:04Smashville against the Preds. That game is another ESPN Plus
- 44:08exclusive. John Butcher Gross and Kevin
- 44:10Weeks will be announcing it after that.
- 44:12Back to normal pretty much on Preds TV for a while here.
- 44:17Kara, we got one TNT game in November, but other than that,
- 44:21the ESPN Plus ESPN Plus October barrage comes to an end on
- 44:26Thursday. Is that right?
- 44:29I believe that's it. I'm not so curious what Kevin
- 44:31Weeks is going to wear to the game on Thursday night because I
- 44:33felt like the suit he wore to do the Tampa broadcast is really
- 44:37what he should have saved for Halloween.
- 44:39So. Yeah, let's see.
- 44:41What weeks he has. Little Addams family with the
- 44:44blackout white stripes. I did.
- 44:46I was feeling that. I thought, I feel like he was
- 44:49just maybe he was just preparing.
- 44:50He was already in the Halloween mood.
- 44:54I like it, whatever it was. So yeah, I got to get a
- 44:56Halloween tie. Actually.
- 44:57That's something I need to remember to do later today.
- 45:00I did find some great Halloween socks with Jason on them, which
- 45:04are great because it's also hockey Goldie masks, so it works
- 45:08for everything. Yeah, there you go.
- 45:10All right, more to come after this on The Predator's official
- 45:12podcast. I was working in the lab late
- 45:23one night when my eyes beheld an eerie sight for my monster from
- 45:28his lab began to rise and suddenly, to my surprise, he did
- 45:36the monster man the monster match.
- 45:39It was a graveyard smash. It caught on in a.
- 45:44Flag the Monster Mash is a classic he.
- 45:46Did the. Monster Happy Halloween friends
- 45:48fans hockey Halloween Thursday night at 7 friends and Oilers at
- 45:52Bridgestone Arena. We had to get this one in since
- 45:56Kara won't let me play my Tim Robinson.
- 45:58It was also the night when the skeletons came to life.
- 46:01But if you do know, you do know. But the monster mash is the
- 46:04classic right down the middle. Kara gets you in the Halloween
- 46:07mood. It is.
- 46:09It's just so good. It it hits every time the
- 46:13monster mash it does, it absolutely hits.
- 46:16She's Kara Hammer from preds TV. I'm Max Herz from preds radio.
- 46:19This is the POP on one O 25 the game.
- 46:22We've heard a lot of interviews today.
- 46:24Our interview of the week comes on Preds Radio after their win
- 46:29in Chicago on Friday night. The way these interviews work
- 46:33for Rd. games on the radio, the players are outside the locker
- 46:36room, the announcers are in the press box upstairs, the player
- 46:39puts on a headset and sometimes things happen to that headset.
- 46:44And that's what happened to Gus Nyquist after his big goal in
- 46:48the win over the Blackhawks on Friday.
- 46:49Talking to Pete and Hal. Well, you did it here this
- 46:52evening and now back-to-back games for the first time this
- 46:56year. Columbus Blue Jack is tomorrow
- 46:58night. So they rested.
- 47:00They are back in Nashville and I would assume taking it easy for
- 47:04tomorrow. Sorry I missed you there.
- 47:07I had a guy banging on my headphones here.
- 47:09Really. Yeah.
- 47:10What was his name? His name is Nick Felino,
- 47:13actually. So all right, gotcha.
- 47:16An old friend of mine, I can't believe he's he's old now, so.
- 47:19How old do you think he is? He's got a chosen in on 40s here
- 47:22for sure. Go enjoy it.
- 47:24And yes, thank you. See you.
- 47:26OK. All right.
- 47:26Appreciate your visit. Bye.
- 47:28Nick Fellino breaking up the interview.
- 47:30Former teammate of Gus Nyquist in Columbus and just getting
- 47:33called old for it. It's funny, I love when stuff
- 47:38like that happens. I do too, yeah.
- 47:40And Fellino, by the way, he's kind of always 37, but like us,
- 47:45Kara, he's in his 30s and we're all the same age here.
- 47:48We are. They were talking about it last
- 47:50night on the broadcast. The Predators have the 5th
- 47:55oldest team right now in the National Hockey League.
- 47:57Obviously Romanosi's 34, Steven Sampco's coming in.
- 48:01These guys are older. Like this is the time Max this
- 48:05is the time. I actually think that that
- 48:09number has gotten younger for the preds because at the
- 48:11beginning of the year I think they were third.
- 48:14So I think Zach Larue's call up drags that number down quite a
- 48:18bit. Which is what gets for the play.
- 48:21But we'll take the, we'll take the the age, right that that's
- 48:28bringing the number down. Yeah, he was not called up to
- 48:31add age diversity to the Predators roster here, but he's
- 48:34been a lot of fun to watch. We'll see you guys back in
- 48:36Smashville this weekend, Thursday night against the
- 48:39Oilers, Saturday night to Smashville against the Avalanche
- 48:42and Monday night against the Kings before going back on the
- 48:45road next week. All three of those home games
- 48:47are at 7:00. We will be there looking forward
- 48:50to seeing you. And we'll be back with a podcast
- 48:53on Friday after the game against the Oil on Thursday night.
- 48:57She's Gary Hammer for Fred's TV. I'm Max Hurst, Fred's radio.
- 49:00Thank you so much for listening to the Predators official
- 49:03podcast here on your radio. Home for Fred's hockey, ESPN
- 49:06102-5106. Three the game.
- 49:11The guy asked for something spooky.
