- 0:10Hello everyone, and welcome to the Doctor Randy show.
- 0:13We're very excited to have Nick Tverdick, the owner of Aria
- 0:19Integrated Health on the show today.
- 0:22So excited to have Nick. I've known him for years.
- 0:24So excited to have him as a guest on the show.
- 0:26He has so much going on and so much to talk about.
- 0:30Not only Aria, but also a business venture that's about
- 0:34five years in the making. Practice Empowered.
- 0:36So I'd love to hear all things going on with you, Nick.
- 0:39But every time I jump on social media, I see your face.
- 0:43So I know you're staying busy. I know Arya has been around for
- 0:47about 14 years. So congratulations.
- 0:50One of the largest in the country, over 15,000 patients.
- 0:55What you are doing there is groundbreaking, as I understand.
- 0:59I think over 20 devices and every type of treatment under
- 1:03the sun. So as we dive into the
- 1:06technology and innovation and aesthetics, Nick is our perfect
- 1:09guest. So welcome, Nick, and feel free
- 1:12to tell us a little bit about what you're up to these days.
- 1:14Thank you, Doctor Randy. I'm, I feel blessed to be here
- 1:17and if I can help any of the listeners on their path, because
- 1:21this can be a bumpy road. And trust me, we've made the
- 1:25mistakes and we love doing this. And as you said, we've been
- 1:29around for 14 years and treat a lot of patience.
- 1:32And if we can help you not make the same mistakes again, that's
- 1:35what we're, that's what we're doing.
- 1:36But also take where your business is now early to the
- 1:40next level. And that's where that technology
- 1:42and the innovation really come into play.
- 1:45Great, Nick, I would love to start with a hot topic that I've
- 1:50been researching a lot lately. I've also been testing a lot
- 1:54lately. So I've have a lot of products
- 1:58coming being shipped to me and they are all fall under one
- 2:02category of exosomes, right? And I'm trying so many different
- 2:07brands, trying so many different kinds and there's a lot of
- 2:10mystery behind exosomes, right? It seems that there's the kind
- 2:15that use in clinic, there's the kind that we use at home, and I
- 2:19think the consumer out there remains somewhat confused about
- 2:24exactly what exosomes are, what they do.
- 2:28You know, why we need the version that's in clinic, why we
- 2:31have a version that's at home? How long is the actual shelf
- 2:34life? Do they need to stay in the
- 2:35refrigerator? So I think you're the pro and
- 2:39I'd love to educate our audience, not only just the
- 2:43listeners that are trying exosomes for themselves, but
- 2:46clinics that are interested in adopting exosomes into their
- 2:51clinics. It sounds like you've done an
- 2:53amazing job of that. So I think they could use your
- 2:55advice. Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:57And it's a, it's a confusing world because you hear a lot of
- 3:03of kind of nonsense that's out there.
- 3:06And the way that I like to talk to our patients about exosomes,
- 3:10and this might be a lame analogy, but it seems to work.
- 3:13Because really, if we have any controlled damage, the way your
- 3:16body heals is if you think about the stem cells that are actually
- 3:21healing the tissue as the worker bees and the worker bees are
- 3:26going to use different tools and scaffolding to rebuild that type
- 3:31of tissues. Think about that being the wax
- 3:33or the tools that is your proteins and your growth
- 3:36factors, right? However, there's another piece
- 3:39to it where there's pheromones which are really driving the
- 3:43bees to do something. So they need to go to this area
- 3:47and repair that tissue. That's like where exosomes
- 3:51really play into the part is we're able to drive that natural
- 3:56healing response to where we want it.
- 3:58So we've been using exosomes and stem cells were really about
- 4:03nine years we jumped into the regenerative medicine space.
- 4:06When I say regenerative medicine, yes, we've done knee
- 4:10injections, joint injections, IV, all different types of
- 4:14regenerative treatments, but we've also done a lot of hair
- 4:17regeneration treatments. And how can we really maximize
- 4:21facial aesthetics treatment, whether it be RF, microneedling
- 4:24or post ablative treatment, how can we really boost those
- 4:29results? And that's where biologics come
- 4:32into play. The technology and where these
- 4:36products have come from and where they are now has changed
- 4:39dramatically. So I'm glad you're having me on
- 4:42here to hopefully clear up some of the confusion because they're
- 4:46just like with anything, especially in aesthetics, that
- 4:49can be Wild West and what's real, what's not.
- 4:53So I'm glad we're having this conversation.
- 4:55Yeah, absolutely. And I am too, because I think
- 4:58the mystery behind it reminds me of what happened with GLP 1.
- 5:03So remember the buzz started around GLP ones and people just
- 5:09what is this and what's going to happen next?
- 5:12And I think clinics were confused, patients were
- 5:15confused. And I feel like that's the stage
- 5:17that we are at right now with exosomes.
- 5:20So sounds like you were there from the beginning.
- 5:24You use them in clinic, but do you also sell them for patients
- 5:28to take home? Tell me a little bit about that.
- 5:31So that's a great question. So let's break down some of the
- 5:35why it's so confusing out there. So I'm a big believer in
- 5:39utilizing umbilical cord derived biologics, right?
- 5:43If you were to take a healthy 50 year old, and I'm going to talk
- 5:47about stem cells here for a second.
- 5:48This is just on average, if you were to take a healthy 50 year
- 5:51old and you wanted to use their own stem cells, so it's all the
- 5:55stem cells for that patient, they would go in and they take
- 5:58bone marrow out of the patient, spin it down.
- 6:01And on average, a healthy 50 year old is going to be left
- 6:05with 2500 Mesentimo stem cells, OK.
- 6:10And then they'll put them in the joint.
- 6:11And stem cells are so powerful that even just those 2500 can
- 6:16really make a big difference. We don't inject less than 5
- 6:20million stem cells into any patient's joint right now.
- 6:25They're coming from umbilical cord tissue.
- 6:27So the reason why I say that is we're able to have the purest
- 6:31and most viable form of stem cells when we're utilizing it
- 6:35from the umbilical cord tissue. So when I say umbilical cord
- 6:37tissue, Wharton's Jelly, predominantly the reason why I'm
- 6:41talking about stem cells is where the quality of exosomes
- 6:46and the end result from those exosomes is directly
- 6:50proportional to the quality of the stem cells that they're
- 6:54being derived from. So when I say that is the
- 6:58question that everybody should ask and I'm going to piss off a
- 7:01lot of companies by saying what I'm about to say, but anytime
- 7:05you're talking about exosomes, you need to ask what is the post
- 7:09thaw viability rate of the stem cells you're getting these
- 7:13exosomes from? Yeah, and.
- 7:17These aren't questions that people are answering answering a
- 7:20because it's typically garbage. So on average, from what I
- 7:24understand, the average post on viability rate for a Warton's
- 7:28Jelly stem cell product is sitting around that 60% range,
- 7:335060%. So the exosomes that we're using
- 7:38it is and I'll share the name later, but it's coming from a
- 7:42post on viability rate of 90 to 93% exosomes coming from those
- 7:48stem cells. OK.
- 7:49That is a very high and really industry standard from what I
- 7:54have seen. So the higher the quality of
- 7:57stem cells you're deriving your exosomes from, the better the
- 8:01quality are going to be. Now that being said, to go along
- 8:04with do we send patients home with them, we currently don't.
- 8:08Right now we keep all of our exosomes cryo preserved.
- 8:12So the exosomes that we use -20 is all that's needed for proper
- 8:17storage. We have a -80° freezer.
- 8:20We also have a liquid nitrogen Dewar in our clinic.
- 8:23So we store full live umbilical cord derived stem cells
- 8:27etcetera, etcetera, depending on what we're treating.
- 8:30But the results when you can combine quality exosomes coming
- 8:34from a quality stem cell product are going to take your aesthetic
- 8:39patients results to an entirely different level.
- 8:43I love Nick, you are the expert in this.
- 8:45This is what we've been waiting to hear.
- 8:48This is this is great. But it makes sense because some
- 8:51of these bottles that I'm receiving say growth factors on
- 8:54them. And so next is home.
- 8:55So it's really interesting. But the things I'm receiving are
- 8:59the at home treatments. But I understand now.
- 9:02So there's two different but so how do you feel about the at
- 9:05home treatments? Just curious.
- 9:06Any sort of biologics, if you're going to get a regenerative
- 9:10response, OK, I know in clinic exactly what we're seeing
- 9:15because we objectively track and we're going to break down some
- 9:20exosomes a little bit more. And I don't know if you can call
- 9:23me the expert. I know enough to be dangerous.
- 9:25There's definitely people that are a lot smarter than me in
- 9:28this space. But I've been in the game a
- 9:30decent amount of time. So I'm going to talk some more
- 9:34about exosomes, if that's OK. So I personally believe what is
- 9:40Jelly from umbilical cord tissue is the absolute gold standard
- 9:43for where your exosomes are coming.
- 9:46So our product for instance, it's a four MLS of actual
- 9:51exosomes and A5ML vial, it's Cryopreserve and it's 400
- 9:56billion exosomes with 400 growth factors and 400 proteins in that
- 10:03one vial. We're talking about like when
- 10:05people are out there, I'm not going to name names, but there's
- 10:08a lot of stuff out there that is expensive that really is not
- 10:13giving very much. So most products out there
- 10:16sitting at 10 billion and they might have bone marrow aspirate
- 10:20from somebody in the I know. So bone marrow aspirate derived
- 10:26exosomes may be mixed with some Morton's Jelly 10 billion.
- 10:30OK, the one and the other super popular brands is actually
- 10:34coming from post abdominoplasty adipose stem cells.
- 10:40So you're taking, let's just call it what it is on average
- 10:43middle-aged people which aren't healthy to begin with, otherwise
- 10:46they wouldn't need the abdominoplasty.
- 10:49You're taking those adipose derived stem cells and then
- 10:53you're forcing it to regenerate dermal tissue.
- 10:56Doesn't make much sense. Yeah, two companies out there
- 11:00singing at 10 billion and 10 billion.
- 11:02We're only playing with 400 billion right now with 400
- 11:06growth factors, 400 proteins, all from umbilical cord tissue.
- 11:10So ask questions, ask questions and if they can't answer, they
- 11:14what's the post thought viability rate, run like the
- 11:17wind. Or you can contact me.
- 11:19I would love to help you get the best results for your patients
- 11:23that you can. Yeah.
- 11:24And Nick, I love that you're you've always been for a minute.
- 11:29I met you very generous with your time and expertise.
- 11:34And I think that says a lot about you because you want other
- 11:38clinics to do well, not just your own, and you want to show
- 11:41them the way. And clearly you're an expert on
- 11:44this science. And I think that a lot of
- 11:46clinics are still, hey, what should I do?
- 11:48Which one should I bring on? But yeah, I was reading about
- 11:52exosomes from cadaver tissue, all kinds of things out there.
- 11:56And that do we want, you know, cadaver tissue?
- 12:00No. So you're right.
- 12:01Like people really need to understand the science behind
- 12:05what's being applied, what's being used, and it's not all
- 12:09created equal. So I love that you're the expert
- 12:12on this. Thank you.
- 12:13Thank you for. We can maximize patients results
- 12:17and I'm a firm believer that we are all in this together.
- 12:21If I can help somebody in Florida that's listening to your
- 12:25podcast not make mistakes and make more money, help their
- 12:30patients get better results, not spend money on bad technology or
- 12:34something out there, we're making the world a better place.
- 12:37Try to have some altruism along with this.
- 12:40Entire no, it's great that you do that.
- 12:43And I think this industry is craving that and craving
- 12:47somebody who speaks out as the voice of reason, the expert, and
- 12:51somebody who's generous with their time.
- 12:54And I want to dive in a little bit more to what you're doing
- 12:57for different clinics. But before we go there, not only
- 13:01are exosomes on top of everybody's mind, but I would
- 13:05say the second most popular topic that people approach me
- 13:08about or want to hear about are peptides, right?
- 13:12That's right behind it. Peptides are, they're saying
- 13:16this is the fountain of youth. I can tell you that as I scroll
- 13:19through social media at night, I'm seeing all from the
- 13:23celebrities down to patients talking about if they tried a
- 13:27peptide or they you're interested in trying a peptide.
- 13:30And there's just thousands of responses of people talking
- 13:34about amazing results and how they're suddenly transported
- 13:38back 20 years in time with their ability to work out or whatnot.
- 13:42So I'm interested to hear your thoughts about peptides and
- 13:46where you're going with it. Yeah.
- 13:48So this is really an exciting and I'm using this word very
- 13:52intentionally frontier because the data out there isn't fully
- 13:58there to support us at Aria and along with thousands of other
- 14:03doctors and clinics global, globally is OK.
- 14:06We've had the access to these for for decades.
- 14:10Where is this really able to take us and the answers very far
- 14:16and places that we haven't been able to do just with diet or
- 14:19exercise or supplementation in the past.
- 14:22So I'm very excited for where peptides are going.
- 14:26I'm also very excited to see some actual data around some of
- 14:31the clinicals that I'm sure will be coming out.
- 14:34But there's also, I want to clear up a lot of confusion out
- 14:37there because people are making some wild claims out there on
- 14:41what's happening. I see it yes.
- 14:45Like should I order that? So wild claims out there right
- 14:49now the data and when I say data, double-blind peer reviewed
- 14:54white papers that really support this, we're not quite there yet
- 14:57for how many peptides are out there.
- 15:00So please anybody out there that's listening, we also need
- 15:06your help in really figuring out, OK, what are the protocols
- 15:10that you're seeing? And then let's put together a
- 15:12full actual clinical data trial around what we're trying to
- 15:17accomplish because we're figuring this out as we go.
- 15:20We stick much more with just the straight, the driven responses
- 15:25for what we know because it's been suppressed.
- 15:29And thank you, Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk because they're
- 15:33like, oh, peptides, they're dangerous except for the ones
- 15:35that we have patented, right? Thank you, drug companies.
- 15:39But when I say that other peptides are equally as
- 15:43powerful, So understanding what they can do, there's so much out
- 15:48there about showing that BPC 152nd 7 can really help with
- 15:53tissue repair at least. So they're saying, but is that
- 15:56going to be the best solution for an individual patient?
- 15:59We're still trying to figure that out.
- 16:01However, we are truly on the core frontier of this space and
- 16:06we're going to be sharing as much as we possibly can.
- 16:09So when we do hopefully dog again in the future, Andy,
- 16:12whether it's next year or six months, I'll have even more data
- 16:16around this that can really show you some results around.
- 16:20It. Yeah, I'd love that because I
- 16:22think that we're all intrigued by it.
- 16:24Let's face it, everybody wants to be young, right?
- 16:27No matter if you're 35, you're 55, you're 60, you want to look
- 16:32younger, we want to stay younger.
- 16:33We're constantly searching for the fountain of youth and if
- 16:37that is in the form of a peptide, we want to know about
- 16:40it. What are the favorites that
- 16:41you're using right now in clinic for the peptide?
- 16:44So right now we have a patient, one of my very good friends,
- 16:46actually. He's a big snowboarder and he
- 16:49went up to the mountains 3 weeks ago and just broke tib fib high
- 16:55spiralized break and he's 56, right?
- 16:59So he's not going to heal like an 18 year old, right?
- 17:03Doesn't have the stem cells, he doesn't have all the
- 17:06testosterone. It's just all the healing
- 17:07capabilities that young kids have.
- 17:10So we got him. We're actually throwing the book
- 17:12at him. He got a source for some HGH and
- 17:17also we are really guiding him down the testosterone and the
- 17:21BBC 157. We're utilizing photobiome
- 17:24modulation, so some PBM with him to really reset some of that
- 17:30neural connection pathways because we don't want him to
- 17:32atrophy. A very long answer to your
- 17:35question is peptides play a part in the overall functional
- 17:40picture of what we're doing. And I think that's the same case
- 17:44with the aesthetic side as well because is OK, when the patient
- 17:50comes in, are we just going to CO2 their face off or are we
- 17:54really going to take a look at what's happening with their
- 17:57skin? Where have they lost their
- 17:59muscles, their connective tissue messed up?
- 18:01What is that program really going to look like?
- 18:04Have they gone through menopause?
- 18:05Are they having hot flashes? So now their estrogen is in the
- 18:10basement. Are they going to be able to
- 18:11really respond as well and keep the results because their
- 18:15hormones aren't optimized as it could be if we're taking a look
- 18:19at the whole whole picture? So where I started rambling, but
- 18:25when we get into this whole conversation is we're utilizing
- 18:29both on the healing side as well as the aesthetic side as part of
- 18:33a true functional look at each individual patient for what they
- 18:37have going on. A peptide by itself is going to
- 18:40change the world. If you have a 60 year old with a
- 18:44higher hemoglobin A1C, are we going to put them on a GOP1 or a
- 18:49peptide to help drop that down? Of course.
- 18:51Is that the only thing that we're going to do?
- 18:54Absolutely not. What got them into where they
- 18:57weren't recovering with exercise?
- 18:59They don't have that that really driving anymore to get up and go
- 19:02work out. They don't have the emotional
- 19:05control to stop eating the food. So it's taking a look at the
- 19:08entire picture and treating that patient functionally to really
- 19:13get them to that next level of results, whether that's looking
- 19:16better, feeling better or living longer or just healthier in
- 19:20general. It's a full functional outlook
- 19:23is how I think we should be doing it, but I'm also biased.
- 19:27Well, Nick, you're biased, but you're doing things well and
- 19:32you're doing things right and you're winning.
- 19:33And I think that at the end of the day, I think most clinics
- 19:38out there are striving at this time, even if they weren't
- 19:42before, to become functional, to become a functional clinic.
- 19:47And I think those that are not hopping on to that will
- 19:52eventually have to because I think that we've seen such a
- 19:55wave of change. Let's talk about the ghost in
- 19:59the room here, the GLP ones that the weight loss drugs for just a
- 20:02minute, because those that didn't jump on for a second
- 20:05really got left behind. And look how fast people were
- 20:09having results. I watched friends and family
- 20:12just, you know, just shrink down in size and how impressive that
- 20:16was. And that became the
- 20:18conversation. If you ask me for functional
- 20:22right, because it became now not only do we just give this person
- 20:27a shot to take home, but now we have to make sure they're eating
- 20:30right, they're exercising, they're getting their
- 20:32nutritional values. And we've all seen the horror
- 20:35stories of these 25 year old women with osteoporosis, right?
- 20:39Because they didn't eat anything except 1 egg a day for the last
- 20:43year. So I think that becoming and
- 20:47turning into this functional medicine, even if we're just in
- 20:51aesthetics, like treating the whole person, their body, you're
- 20:55the leader with this. And I think this is where the
- 20:57industry is going. I think it's where we have to go
- 21:01still. Right now, on average,
- 21:03nationwide, 40 to 50% of the weight that people are losing is
- 21:07lean mass. Yes, like for my good friend
- 21:11Doctor Chef in in Denver, he always likes to talk about the
- 21:15Biggest Loser effect. It's happening nationwide right
- 21:18now. I don't care so much about the
- 21:20number on the scale. It's more about the body
- 21:23composition. He says this all the time.
- 21:25But for all the viewers out there, all the listeners out
- 21:28there that aren't familiar with the Biggest Loser effect is and
- 21:32I'm just blanket statements. So if the data is a little off,
- 21:36you'll understand what I'm trying to say at the end of this
- 21:38where they followed 14 contestants of The Biggest Loser
- 21:42and on average, let's just say their basal metabolic rate,
- 21:46right? So how many K cows they were
- 21:48going to burn throughout the day just being alive was 2000.
- 21:53So after they go on extreme calorie depletion diets and
- 21:58extreme exercise programs, yes, they all lost to say on average
- 22:02200 lbs. At the end of that 200 lbs,
- 22:06their K cows per day dropped to 1350.
- 22:10OK, here's the problem. They all gained the fat.
- 22:13Fat back Plus, except now, metabolically speaking, their
- 22:19entire body. They're fighting with their
- 22:21hands tied behind their backs because they don't have that
- 22:23basal metabolic rate. Because they were not watching
- 22:26the muscle at the same time as losing all this fat.
- 22:30So are GOP ones amazing? Yes, they're one of the
- 22:34strongest longevity drugs out there if they're done
- 22:37appropriately. However, functionally speaking,
- 22:41people aren't even paying attention if you don't.
- 22:44If you are not paying attention to what is happening with your
- 22:47patients, what is their skeletal muscle mass?
- 22:50Is it going up? Is it going down?
- 22:51If it's going down, are you having direct intentional sit
- 22:56down conversations with your patients over, hey, we have to
- 22:59change this. You have to get minimum 1g of
- 23:03protein per pound of ideal body weight, ideally 1.3 based on
- 23:07what doctor Gabrielle Lyon is saying out there to make sure
- 23:11that we're protecting the muscle.
- 23:13That's not even getting into exercise, but this is proper
- 23:17care for your patients. And if you're not having these
- 23:20functional, shouldn't even be functional.
- 23:23This is just what we should be doing that that's it's
- 23:26important. So it was a very long winded
- 23:30answer to your question, but we need to be having the functional
- 23:34conversation not only on the health but also on the aesthetic
- 23:38side. Because people come in and throw
- 23:39their hands up and if you look at their hormone symptomology
- 23:44checklist and it's all over the board, they're fatigued, right?
- 23:48They have inability to lose weight.
- 23:49Their hands are cold all the time.
- 23:51And you go and you say, hey, I think we might want to do a full
- 23:55comprehensive hormone panel here and have you sit down with our
- 23:58functional health practitioner because based upon some of what
- 24:02is going on here, you might have some issues.
- 24:05And then we'll just walk down the list.
- 24:07Fatigue is testosterone, thyroid, iron, ferritin, vitamin
- 24:10B12. And you just go down the list
- 24:13and educate. My PCP did a thyroid panel and
- 24:16everything was normal. That is not function rate.
- 24:20It is not functional health where very rarely has a patient
- 24:24had a full comprehensive hormone panel or even full comprehensive
- 24:27metabolic and fatigue panel before they come in or when you
- 24:32get into a comprehensive lipid panel, which is really important
- 24:36for a lot of these patients. So where we are in functional
- 24:40health and how it directly feeds into the results that are
- 24:46possible with aesthetics is a mandatory and necessary
- 24:50conversation. Once again, I'm biased, but
- 24:52we've been doing this and having these conversations for 14 plus
- 24:56years because that's really where we are at.
- 25:01How can people make sure to take care of themselves to make sure
- 25:05that as they're losing 3040 lbs at a time and their body fats is
- 25:10still super high. What do we recommend?
- 25:13Because not every clinic is doing the right thing right now,
- 25:16whether they're trying or they're learning or they're
- 25:18figuring it out. Let's give them the benefit of
- 25:20the doubt. But at the same time, for the
- 25:22listeners out there, how, how do the patients take better care of
- 25:26themselves? And how can the clinics get
- 25:28themselves better aligned with the patients to make sure that
- 25:30we're seeking help and not just weight loss?
- 25:33Yeah, I know that's a great question and I'm going to answer
- 25:37and I may upset some people because when we're seeing
- 25:41patients that we've had in the past and we get them on an in
- 25:44body scan. So I like body composition
- 25:47scanners we personally use in body.
- 25:49Zika makes a good one. There's some other good ones out
- 25:52there, but you have to track it. So I know you said give them the
- 25:55benefit of the doubt. I say screw that.
- 25:59If you are not paying attention to your patients overall health
- 26:03and what you're doing, you're hurt.
- 26:05You can hurt people. Personally, that's how I feel.
- 26:08And we have gotten patients where they have just wasted
- 26:11away. And there's tons and tons of
- 26:13stories where, yeah, somebody loses 40 plus pounds out there
- 26:18and they're like, Oh my gosh, the scale.
- 26:20This is great. The fastest way to lose weight
- 26:24is to lose muscle, everybody. It's much more dense and it
- 26:29weighs more than that. If you are not fueling your
- 26:33body, you're not going to just lose fat with the weight.
- 26:38We care about body composition. Dr. Gabrielle Lyons speaks about
- 26:42this all the time. My good friend Doctor John Chef
- 26:45is all about muscle. So if these clinics are not
- 26:50tracking body composition on their patients with specifically
- 26:55the GOP one peptides, you got it.
- 26:58You have to pay attention because you can very easily be
- 27:02hurting people. We see the data out there.
- 27:05These are very serious averages. When you're saying 40 to 50% of
- 27:08the weight that people are losing is lean mass, you are not
- 27:13doing any help to your patients if you're not tracking it and
- 27:17holding your patients accountable to the lifestyle to
- 27:19do it. And then if they're still not
- 27:21doing, now you have to have a technology conversation, OK, how
- 27:24can we actually build muscle for the patient if they're not going
- 27:28to do it for them or we pull the plug on managing their GOP 1.
- 27:32So this is a very important conversation that needs to be
- 27:36had. And some of the clinics out
- 27:38there really need to look at themselves in the mirror and see
- 27:41if they're doing this the right way once you get unbiased.
- 27:44No, but that brings us to another important topic of what
- 27:48you are doing for clinics with Practice Empowered.
- 27:52I think if you're doing the entire industry a favor, right
- 27:56and you're bringing what you have done and grown and honed in
- 28:00and you're bringing it to other offices.
- 28:02And not everybody does that, right?
- 28:04Because some people want to keep it all secret for themselves.
- 28:07But I think it's great that you're helping clinics grow.
- 28:11You're helping clinics understand what's the best way
- 28:14to grow and you've been hugely successful.
- 28:17It's like when when they say only take advice from somebody
- 28:22that you emulate. I remember being much younger in
- 28:25my 20s and going to a gym that I signed up for and they gave me a
- 28:30personal training session. And this personal trainer came
- 28:32out, was like a complimentary personal training session.
- 28:35And I was like, looked at this person that came out and I was
- 28:39like, I don't want to look like this person, right?
- 28:41This was person who is completely out of shape but
- 28:44wanting to tell me what to do. So you are the person who is in
- 28:49the best shape with your business and you're the prime
- 28:52example of what clinics need to follow.
- 28:56So if you don't mind telling us a little bit about practice and
- 28:58power. Yeah, absolutely.
- 29:00So we got thrown into this. Actually.
- 29:03We weren't planning on starting this.
- 29:05And a good friend of mine, he worked for a company is OK, by
- 29:08the way, I'm sending you 2 clinics out for you to train him
- 29:11for this. And Stephanie, who's my
- 29:13substantially better looking and smarter wife, we're like, OK,
- 29:16looks, we're getting into consulting.
- 29:19And yes, we dive into some of the clinical aspects and how we
- 29:22can functionally optimize treatments and things like that.
- 29:26But what we found out very painfully is really 80% of this
- 29:32entire space on the aesthetic side or even functional side is
- 29:36lead generation, lead conversion, proper patient flow,
- 29:40how you do a consultation and money and follow up like not
- 29:45that complicated. Now, that being said, it's cost
- 29:49us 14 years of our lives and millions of dollars of pain
- 29:53running through walls face first to really figure it out.
- 29:55I'm not trying to pat myself on the back too much, but we've
- 29:58done a really good job of figuring it out.
- 30:00We don't want everybody to have to go through the same pain
- 30:04again. That's how Practice Empowered
- 30:07really started. So we do a day and a half, two
- 30:10days in training in our actual clinic.
- 30:12So you see how this process works.
- 30:15How does the patient flow need to work most efficiently for you
- 30:19to optimize your business? You Get full access to all of
- 30:21our vendors, all of our paperwork, all of our back ends,
- 30:25who we use for marketing, advertising, who we use for our
- 30:29exosomes, all of that. By the way, reach out.
- 30:32Anybody who's listening to me, feel free to reach out.
- 30:35I'll give you all of our contacts.
- 30:37But it's really helping people not make the same mistakes that
- 30:41we have. And my background's actually in
- 30:43business, right, where a lot of these doctors, they, they've
- 30:47never been taught business. And it's unfortunate because
- 30:51then they're thrown to the wolves in this marketplace and
- 30:54they don't have the tools. And that's really what practice
- 30:56and power it is all about. This is going to sound very
- 30:59corny, but this is a quote by Pablo Picasso.
- 31:03But he said the meaning of life is to find your gift, and the
- 31:08purpose of life is to give it away.
- 31:10And that's really what Stephanie and I are trying to do with
- 31:13this. And it's working very well.
- 31:15Everybody leaves with the tools needed to really take off
- 31:20because everybody's still going to make mistakes, right?
- 31:23It's just going to be your own. And we're trying to help people
- 31:26in that smooth of a paved road as we possibly can.
- 31:30And it's really built around energy based device treatments
- 31:34because that's where all the margin is and helping people.
- 31:38Here's how you advertise the top high, high value, high dollar,
- 31:42high revenue treatments. And then it's easy to sell down
- 31:45as opposed to the opposite. So it's we really like to help
- 31:48people. And now we have friends all over
- 31:50the country. We've had several 100 clinics
- 31:53out. So it's been we feel blessed.
- 31:56I can tell by when you're talking about it is lighting you
- 31:58up, right? It's that you're helping build
- 32:01clinics all over the country and some of them are your
- 32:04competitors, but you don't, even if you're like, there's enough,
- 32:07everybody wants to look better, look younger, right?
- 32:10So there's definitely enough of us that are out there seeking
- 32:14these treatments. But I think it's just it, it
- 32:16speaks to who you are, your character, which is why we
- 32:20wanted you on today, because you're building, you're helping
- 32:23build the industry. From the minute I met, you were
- 32:26warm with your energy, your, your generosity of who you are
- 32:29and the wealth of knowledge that you have.
- 32:31And I think that that's a game changer in life, right?
- 32:34You'll always be successful because you're just helping
- 32:37others level up and continue to climb.
- 32:40How many offices have you helped so far?
- 32:42How many clinics? Oh, it's right at 200 at this
- 32:46point in time. So quite a few over the last
- 32:49five years and it's been an amazing experience.
- 32:52And for everybody that's listening out there, we are all
- 32:55in this together. There's three things that
- 32:58there's plenty of in this world. Wrinkles, fat and pain.
- 33:02OK, it's not going anywhere if I can help other clinics make
- 33:09money and get better at the business side, we almost have a
- 33:12compounding interest effect for how many patients we can help by
- 33:16helping these other doctors and clinics and nurses and
- 33:19practitioners and business people run the business
- 33:22appropriately. But as you can tell from the
- 33:24from this podcast, we deeply care about the functional side
- 33:28of things. How can we at the end of the day
- 33:30where they help our patients not only look better, but feel
- 33:33better, healthier and live longer.
- 33:36And it's amazing how many and patients that we've affected by
- 33:40helping businesses. So it's been an amazing
- 33:42experience and Stephanie and I would feel blessed to be able to
- 33:46do this. You're super inspiring, Nick,
- 33:49and I think that this podcast is going to be on fire because
- 33:53people love to hear other people be successful.
- 33:56Your passion behind what you do is so inevitable.
- 33:59It's just it's contagious. It's infectious.
- 34:02So congratulations on all of your success.
- 34:05I do hope that you'll come back in about 6 months and tell us,
- 34:09you know what else is new and hot in in aesthetics?
- 34:12Innovation. That's really where things are
- 34:14going. I know that when we reconnect in
- 34:16six months, we'll have a home new list of things that you're
- 34:19working on, but I then you do it and you do it right and you do
- 34:23it all the way. And you're not going to do
- 34:26something unless you've studied it.
- 34:27What's going to help your patients?
- 34:29Look, at the end of the day, everybody in this world wants to
- 34:31make money, but you're monetizing things that really
- 34:35are helping your patients and we can tell that you care.
- 34:37So thank you so much for joining us today for being a part of our
- 34:42amazing network here. But moreover, just before we
- 34:45close, how can people reach? How can they get in touch with
- 34:49you, even if they just want to start a conversation?
- 34:52Learn more about Practice Empowered or learn more about
- 34:54Aria? What's the best way to get in
- 34:56touch? Yeah, absolutely.
- 34:57The best way to do is actually e-mail at consulting at practice
- 35:02empowered.com. That'll come straight to us.
- 35:05So if you want to know who we use for XS homes, it's called
- 35:08Revive X by the way, but or any of our other vendors.
- 35:12I want people to get the right treatments because there's so
- 35:15much BS out there and please feel free to reach out.
