Transcript
- 0:00As part of Ferrari Fridays, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace will
- 0:04be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live and breathe.
- 0:08The Ferrari brand topics range from road cars to racing drivers to owners,
- 0:13as well as auctions, private sales and trends in the collector market.
- 0:28Well, hello everyone.
- 0:29Welcome back to the channel, the Vlog, the podcast, depending on
- 0:33how you are listening to this.
- 0:34I'm your host, William Ross, and we are talking or reviewing in
- 0:38this episode, Monterey Car Week and the top 10 Ferrari sales.
- 0:43There was a lot of hot and heavy action that went on this past weekend
- 0:46out there in Monterey, California.
- 0:49And those of you were out there, you know, participated some of these things.
- 0:51I mean, there were some crazy numbers, some that were, you know,
- 0:54right in line where they should be.
- 0:56It's, uh, not too surprising, but there was the top seller, one
- 1:00was from left field, so to speak.
- 1:01I guess you say it was for a good cause, but.
- 1:03The cause is a little murky.
- 1:05So kind of interesting.
- 1:07Hopefully you guys just listen to the audio Part of this will uh, be
- 1:10able to follow along because the video's popping in there, which car
- 1:13I'm talking about briefly and kind of give an overview of it real quick.
- 1:17'cause like I said, there's some really cool stuff.
- 1:19We even get into stuff that didn't sell.
- 1:21'cause there's some significant cars that went across the block
- 1:24at Gooding and they did not sell.
- 1:27Now I don't know what the high bid was, everything like that.
- 1:29'cause that's what kind of sucks.
- 1:30These auction houses, if it doesn't sell passes, there's a reserve on it.
- 1:34They won't post what the high bid is.
- 1:35That's kind of to protect the owner because then all of a
- 1:38sudden that number's out there.
- 1:39But everyone knows the number that was there is gonna get passed around.
- 1:42So the people that are gonna be interested in that car or wanna know information,
- 1:45they'll find out what the high bid was.
- 1:47So that's kinda like.
- 1:48Showing you what that car has kind of maybe worth at that time in the room?
- 1:51Maybe.
- 1:51I don't know.
- 1:52It just can be a little bit annoying.
- 1:54Mecca's not that good at about putting it on there.
- 1:56It'll just say sold.
- 1:57But you don't know what it's sold for, which is kind of rude.
- 2:00But you got some other ones that do an awesome job put on there,
- 2:04high bid, including, you know, they, hey, this is what's sold for.
- 2:06That includes the fees, is the whole nine yards.
- 2:07'cause that's the other thing too, is you know, you got your fees of 10 15%
- 2:11and one end both ends ing like that.
- 2:13So, I mean, there's a lot of money involved.
- 2:15In taking your car and selling it at auction, or buying it at auction.
- 2:19I think some people seem to forget just someone, a layman that's just
- 2:22not into this industry and has no clue, sees, well, wait a minute.
- 2:26It went across the block and hammered at this, but why is it say it sold for
- 2:30that much more while you have fees?
- 2:32Tell these people stay in business now, and here's the kicker.
- 2:36Like I said, they're anywhere from 10 to 15% on both ends,
- 2:39so 10 or 15% from the seller.
- 2:4110 to 15% from the buyer.
- 2:43You're talking 20, 30% on top of what it hammered for that they're collecting.
- 2:48So I mean, do the math.
- 2:50If you're talking a million dollar car, 20%, what is that?
- 2:53Yeah, $200,000.
- 2:55The fees are just obnoxious.
- 2:57That's why I'm not a big fan of auctions.
- 2:58That's why I'm not a big fan of when I talk with some of my
- 3:01clients about having them sell a card auction, I just think, no.
- 3:04I go, the fees are just absolutely extraordinary and I don't think you
- 3:07get what you should get out it for that cost, and I'm a lot cheaper.
- 3:11But you know, hey, they're gonna do what they wanna do.
- 3:12You get a huge audience, you get it out there.
- 3:14But as have I made the comment before, the problem is if it doesn't
- 3:18sell, that price is out there.
- 3:20Anyways, let's get to it.
- 3:21Like I said, we're gonna talk about the top 10, 11 breweries that sold this
- 3:25past weekend in Monterey during car Week at the various auction houses.
- 3:29And the first one we're gonna start with now.
- 3:31I've seen this car, this car's at Caino, early this year.
- 3:34Inching little story.
- 3:35Indy car driver, Santino Ucci was toning it around for JR over there
- 3:40GT Motorcars 'cause he represented the car or it was his car.
- 3:43Something like that.
- 3:44I don't know.
- 3:44But man, that thing was loud, but Santino drove it up onto the lawn there at Caino.
- 3:48So that was kind of cool to see.
- 3:50Santino is a very, very little dude.
- 3:52You can't weigh more than 140 pounds if that.
- 3:55I mean, he is a little guy, but that's what you want for your IndyCar, right?
- 3:57No weight, no nothing.
- 3:59So you get around quick.
- 4:00So we have a 2010 Ferrari 5 9 9 XX Evo sold fees, all in
- 4:07everything at 3.305 million.
- 4:10$3,305,000. There's only few hundred 50 of these done.
- 4:14It was in your traditional red.
- 4:15It's got the numbers 44 on there.
- 4:17Um, in the video people are watching, I'll put links for all
- 4:20these on there as well, so you can just pull us up and check it out.
- 4:23'cause it's gonna give you a lot of detailed information on the car.
- 4:26It'll give you a van, the whole nine yards.
- 4:28A lot of detailed photos, which is really cool that you can go out and
- 4:31check out and see and really kinda get a really detailed look at this
- 4:35car and get the story behind it.
- 4:36These XX cars are unbelievable, but they're track only cars.
- 4:40Now.
- 4:40They got the, uh, XX versions they came out with for their street versions.
- 4:45Now it's getting murky, I guess you could say.
- 4:47'cause aren't this supposed to be only track only cars,
- 4:49but so they have 5 9 9 XX evo.
- 4:52So for $3.3 million, that's about where that should be at three 50 of those built.
- 4:57So it's a very rare car.
- 4:59But again, this is a situation where, okay, 99% of the time.
- 5:03You have this car sitting at Ferrari, they take care of it for you.
- 5:06They deliver it, put it on a truck, ship it to wherever you're gonna go.
- 5:09They have check side, crew, everything like that.
- 5:11Then you're paying for that to the Corsa Clientele program, or however
- 5:15you wanna pronounce that in Italian.
- 5:16'cause my Italian's horrible.
- 5:17But this one's kind of out in the wild, so to speak.
- 5:19So, I mean, you get the right people, you can run this thing, but that thing's loud.
- 5:23It's fast.
- 5:24The unbelievable car.
- 5:25So, well you might drive a few times a year, but you know, when you're in that
- 5:28tax bracket, what do you care right next?
- 5:30What we're gonna go with here, F forties are always in abundance at these auctions,
- 5:34especially when you get to these big ones like Monterey and stuff like that.
- 5:37And these are gonna actually kinda all depend on condition,
- 5:41mileage, you know, history, repaint accidents, all that kind of jazz.
- 5:46And this one actually, I believe is a non-Cat down adjust.
- 5:50I can't remember if this was an actual, um, us one of the.
- 5:54200, whatever it was just us built cars, which that's what you want.
- 5:58If you're here in the United States, you know you want a US car.
- 6:01'cause European cars.
- 6:02The big difference was Euro F forties had a bladder in the gas tank.
- 6:06It had to get replaced every five, 10 years, something like that.
- 6:09So no matter what, even if you didn't drive it, you always
- 6:10had to replace that bladder.
- 6:11It was always like 10 to $15,000.
- 6:13It wasn't cheap.
- 6:14US cars due to regulations.
- 6:15It was an aluminum tank.
- 6:17A lot of people actually take their eurocar and then retrofit and do
- 6:20this aluminum tank because one, you don't have to do the bladder
- 6:23anymore, but two, it's just safety.
- 6:25'cause the tank's not gonna get well, it could get punctured.
- 6:27It's not easily as that bladder.
- 6:28So everyone knows the F four.
- 6:30There's really no reason to kind of discuss it.
- 6:32It is one of my all time favorite.
- 6:34This was said, this is chassis number 8 4 0 3 6.
- 6:37So it's got kilometers.
- 6:38So this was actually a eurocar, so it was not a US built for the US originally.
- 6:42Well, size of the bladder, there's a few little things, side marker lights, that
- 6:45kind of stuff that kind of differentiate these cars from your euro, from a US cars.
- 6:49So it's not all that much.
- 6:51Again, it's all preference.
- 6:52These things have been floating back and forth between the oceans.
- 6:54If you're gonna get the car to drive, it has a fun, who cares?
- 6:57Get whatever you want that's gonna get your best value, best price, best quality.
- 7:00Always buy the best if you can.
- 7:02So this sold for $3,855,000.
- 7:07I can see why it went that high.
- 7:09This actually had single ownership for one owner car only 360 kilometers.
- 7:14So 224 miles non-Cat on a just car long-term storage.
- 7:18And I. That's a brand new car.
- 7:20So that's why the thing went so high.
- 7:21That's up there in value.
- 7:23I mean, that's normal mileage say around, you know, like between 5,000
- 7:26to 15,000 miles, that kind of jazz.
- 7:28You know, you're gonna be 2.5 to 3 million.
- 7:31You're paying for the low mileage.
- 7:32So now, but here's your issue you're gonna run into with this car.
- 7:35It's gonna have to go going completely gone through, everything's
- 7:38gonna have to be looked at.
- 7:39All your seals, gaskets, everything like that.
- 7:41You can't just jump in and drive.
- 7:42Oh, you think, oh, it's got low miles, I can go with you.
- 7:44No, you're gonna have a lot of service bills for this car.
- 7:47You're gonna be in the six figure range on your service bill for this thing to
- 7:50get that thing up and going and running to be able to drive this suckers does
- 7:53have a US title, which is really good.
- 7:55Obviously it's been over here for a long, long time.
- 7:58There's always ways to get around and import that kind of stuff.
- 8:01But hey, if you want something that's basically a brand new F 40.
- 8:03There you go.
- 8:04All right, next.
- 8:05Now, this was an odd one because Gooding's website, Gooding Christie's,
- 8:09now I should say DISC 1958.
- 8:11Two 50 TDF chassis oh 9 2 5.
- 8:14It didn't list as being sold.
- 8:16Instead it got passed so it didn't meet Reserve.
- 8:18Well, now all of a sudden, post Hammer sold for four point.
- 8:22Eight $5 million, which is good money for that car.
- 8:25I mean, these things are fantastic cars.
- 8:27I mean, they're absolutely gorgeous.
- 8:29They get their name from their, I wanna say specially built, but
- 8:32these things were built for the Tour de France, not the bicycle race.
- 8:36Look up the original Tour de France.
- 8:38It's a really, really cool situation.
- 8:40'cause they went all over France.
- 8:42It was rally racetrack.
- 8:44It was all these different types of racing events, participation, so it
- 8:48really put your car through the paces.
- 8:50They always win, so they built these ones named 'em, tour to France, but
- 8:53they're just absolutely stunning.
- 8:54You're gonna see some ones out there now.
- 8:56This one's a unique one 'cause it's just, it's all red.
- 8:58Normally you see these are either like in the French blue and then they got
- 9:01the French flag stripes going down the center of it, everything like that.
- 9:04So absolutely stunning cars.
- 9:06It was delivered new to Mr.
- 9:08Hara.
- 9:08As we all know, the big casino guy.
- 9:11He had a unbelievable collection of cars, especially Ferraris.
- 9:14What'd he have when he died?
- 9:15Like a couple thousand cars, something like that.
- 9:17It was quite a bit.
- 9:18That was that one.
- 9:19So I believe we are going onto number what we got here.
- 9:23Eighth highest car.
- 9:24So we're working our way.
- 9:25Up to number one, which I think everyone knows what your event is
- 9:28next, a 2015 Ferrari, LA Ferrari.
- 9:32These are going up like crazy in value in price.
- 9:34The coops, yes, too, but their parenters, that's $5.23 million.
- 9:40So this is from the Ming Collection.
- 9:42So he had quite a few cars that were going across.
- 9:44Think Coupled didn't sell, but he, it was all across the board.
- 9:46You know, everyone knows Lot.
- 9:48Ferrari 499 built.
- 9:50And I believe there's one more that was built for the Pope.
- 9:53I know.
- 9:53Something like that.
- 9:54Something special.
- 9:54They always do something crazy like that.
- 9:56This is one of the 120 US specification models built, so that even makes it
- 10:02more special, but you can't bring any, uh, European car anyways.
- 10:05I don't know if you could send it to JK Technologies to.
- 10:08One of these US specified, I guess you could say, make it
- 10:12legal here in the United States.
- 10:13'cause that was the one thing, you know, used to be back in the day,
- 10:16you had a gray market car and you could send it to one of things.
- 10:18But JK Technologies was the biggest, most well known stone business
- 10:21today, does all the stuff that brings the car up to us regulations with
- 10:25changing, you know, headlights, tail markers, all that kind of stuff.
- 10:28So some cars, it wasn't all that difficult to do.
- 10:30Others, it was like unbelievable.
- 10:32But some you couldn't even do it anyways.
- 10:34This car is only showing 54 miles.
- 10:38Same as with that F 40.
- 10:40This one only has 50.
- 10:41I mean, okay, you're gonna have to change the battery 'cause it
- 10:43just, it was sitting like that.
- 10:44So you're gonna have to get a new battery.
- 10:45And I, that's like $200,000 or something like that.
- 10:48$300,000. And the Ross, of course.
- 10:49So it's the red, it's got the black roof.
- 10:51So it's pretty much your, um, standard fare for a la Ferrari.
- 10:55I mean, this is.
- 10:55A little over $127,000 in options.
- 10:58That's your, you know, your, your mandatory fender
- 11:00shields, that kind of stuff.
- 11:01These are gaining popularity.
- 11:03When they first came out, they weren't the hottest one.
- 11:06People were more about that.
- 11:07P one kinda still are, I think a lot prefer the P one over this anyways.
- 11:12Unbelievable car.
- 11:13What's cool about these?
- 11:14And if you're able to buy one, drive, one, it's a very comfortable car.
- 11:18So this is actually one, I won't say you're gonna daily it, but
- 11:20if you wanna take a road trip or something on it, you can.
- 11:22It's a great car.
- 11:23But again, you got that battery pack.
- 11:25These things are getting scary with that kind of stuff.
- 11:28And what's gonna happen in 10, 15 years trying to replace it, whatnot.
- 11:31I mean, I guess the cool thing will be is if.
- 11:34In that timeframe, when you go to replace it with the battery,
- 11:38that will work with that car.
- 11:39The technology has advanced so much that they were actually able
- 11:44to, you know, it is an upgrade.
- 11:45Either more horsepower, more long life, more longevity, something like that.
- 11:49So that would be really cool if that was a case.
- 11:52We shall see.
- 11:53So next, number seven, the erta.
- 11:58It does not say if this was from the Ming collection either, but the app Parentes,
- 12:02it was just one of 210 examples built.
- 12:05This is a black with red accents.
- 12:06I think this thing's stunning.
- 12:08I'm a big fan.
- 12:09I love black cars.
- 12:11They're hard to keep clean, but they are just absolutely unbelievable.
- 12:14I just think they're just sexy as hell.
- 12:15So this thing was sold in Serviced Cauley Ferrari, up in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
- 12:19If you're ever in the Michigan area, definitely stop in at Ley Ferrari.
- 12:23Say hi to Jeff and the boys up there.
- 12:24Those guys are awesome.
- 12:26Awesome people.
- 12:26Very nice, very accommodating.
- 12:28Big shout out to those guys.
- 12:30This thing is just sexy as all get out.
- 12:34It has just over 2300 miles as you get in these newer ferras, you're gonna have your
- 12:38full fledged, you know, actual VIN number.
- 12:40You're not gonna just have four numbers and all that kind of jazz.
- 12:42So these LA Ferrari are just.
- 12:45Awesome, awesome cars.
- 12:46If I win the power ball this weekend, you'll know because
- 12:49I'll be driving a a la Ferrari.
- 12:50I don't think I'd get the appar though.
- 12:52'cause it's like you're paying a premium.
- 12:53I mean, you're paying almost over at least a million more,
- 12:56if not almost 1,000,005 more.
- 12:58To me.
- 12:59I'd rather have a coop.
- 13:00That's just me.
- 13:00That's my preference.
- 13:02But sexy, sexy car.
- 13:03Absolutely beautiful.
- 13:04Like I said, links will be in all the descriptions, stuff like that.
- 13:07So as you're following along, if you got the wherewithal.
- 13:10Click on the link.
- 13:11Next.
- 13:12We're getting into some old Enzo era stuff.
- 13:14We have a Cal spider made infamous by Ferris Bueller himself
- 13:19in Ferris Bueller's Day off.
- 13:20This isn't that car, but that's how everyone knows what these cars are.
- 13:23That's how they just put those two together.
- 13:25But this 19 57, 2 50 long wheel based, beautiful, beautiful Cal Spider.
- 13:30It is gorgeous so far.
- 13:326.6 million.
- 13:33Interesting thing is.
- 13:34It's sold basically for a million dollars below.
- 13:37Low estimate.
- 13:38Did someone get a steal on this?
- 13:40It's hard to say.
- 13:41I wanna say yes, possibly.
- 13:43I can't tell.
- 13:44This thing has the covered taillight because it's got the covered headlights.
- 13:47That's even like more rare.
- 13:49But this one is chassis oh 7 6 9 gt.
- 13:53Let's see if I can tell if it's got covered headlights.
- 13:56Yes, it does.
- 13:57The short wheel base covered headlight ones are the big, big dollar ones.
- 14:01Now there's a car further down this list, but that's an alloy body I
- 14:05say, but long wheel base covered headlights is checking the boxes.
- 14:08Someone got themselves a heck of a good deal on this car.
- 14:12Absolutely beautiful.
- 14:13It's a great color.
- 14:14It's a darker red.
- 14:15It's not the roast, it's not that bright.
- 14:17So it's like a darker red.
- 14:18It's absolutely.
- 14:19Now it's got T and Ter, which I hate.
- 14:21T and interior, I'm just not a fan of.
- 14:22I mean, it's almost like a cream, but that is a sexy, sexy car.
- 14:26Next in line, if you ever get an opportunity to hear one of these
- 14:29things run, look up videos online for a 365 GTV four Cam Daytona Comp.
- 14:36You wanna talk about.
- 14:37Something loud and mean, and just ground just shakes when this car's running.
- 14:42Absolutely, just gorgeous.
- 14:43This actually is friend of mine, Colleen Sheehan's, favorite car, according to
- 14:48her, or one of her all-time favorites.
- 14:49She just absolutely loves these things and I could see why.
- 14:52I mean, it's just absolutely stunning.
- 14:54This is chassis 1 6 4 0 7, and it sold for $7.4 million again below the low
- 15:01estimate by over half a million dollars.
- 15:04Gooding has a tendency at times to, I guess you would say,
- 15:09have too high of an estimate.
- 15:10I don't know if that's just to entice the owner.
- 15:12It's gonna be between eight and 10 million.
- 15:14Well, I'm sorry, you only got 7.4.
- 15:16Well, actually that's not even to them because part of that
- 15:19goes to Gooding for their fees.
- 15:21So they probably walked with 6.5 million, 6.7 million, something like that.
- 15:27After all said and done.
- 15:27So it's kinda hard to say, and I know that a couple of these
- 15:31have been bouncing around.
- 15:32There's 15 of 'em that were built by the factory officially.
- 15:35It's got the red book, it's got the whole nine yards.
- 15:37So I mean, it's got what you want.
- 15:39In all honesty, these aren't too hard to get your hands on.
- 15:41I'll just say that.
- 15:42I'm trying to remember.
- 15:43We're just at the Lamont Classic.
- 15:44I know there's one, if not two of these there.
- 15:46I don't think it was this one though.
- 15:48They're not that difficult to get your hands on.
- 15:49If you really wanna get your hands on one unbelievable car, look up a video.
- 15:53Check it out.
- 15:54Listen to it, look at the photos, click on the link.
- 15:56Next we have got the infamous one of two US spec Gilo F fifties owned
- 16:04originally by Mr. Ralph Lauren.
- 16:06I think everyone knows Ralph Ralph's got one of the most unbelievable
- 16:08collection of cars in the world.
- 16:10Lots and lots of Ferrari.
- 16:11This was originally his car.
- 16:13It's got a little over, uh, 5,400 miles on it.
- 16:16This was the one that was gonna be interesting to see because of one of only
- 16:20two US spec cars, and I think there's only out of entire production of F fifties, I
- 16:27think there was only six yellows total.
- 16:30See, there's only 55 US spec cars.
- 16:33Only two were finished in the yellow, got black interior.
- 16:37This thing is just absolutely, absolutely stunning.
- 16:40People that put it up for Oxy actually bought it from Ralph Lauren through Paul
- 16:43Russell and Company who handled the sale for, um, Mr. Lauren and I believe the
- 16:49gentleman's garage, a guy down in Texas.
- 16:52He just bought the other yellow one from Curated a few
- 16:55months back, and kudos to him.
- 16:57He had a caino, but he drove it from Texas to Florida.
- 17:01Awesome.
- 17:02That's what it's supposed to be.
- 17:03The car's supposed to be driven.
- 17:04That man has my respect.
- 17:06Now, if you wanna look up something that's even sexier as an F 50, look up the F 50
- 17:10GT one, our F 50 gt, absolutely gorgeous.
- 17:14If I have the means, if I win the Powerball Saturday, I'm gonna
- 17:18buy a higher mileage F 50, and I'm gonna replicate that F 50 gt.
- 17:22Put all new body work on it.
- 17:23I mean, it's just stunning.
- 17:24Check that out.
- 17:25But this car here, one of the two owned by Ralph Florin, let's do the last.
- 17:30Four digits is 4 7, 9, 8 of the US you know, F 50.
- 17:33So I mean there's only 55 US spec ones.
- 17:36We are well past the 25 year rule.
- 17:38So obviously you can bring in euro spec cars as well.
- 17:41Now this was the last manual, V 12, no nanny aids, all that kind of jazz.
- 17:46Pure analog that everything started going to the flappy paddles
- 17:50'cause next you had your Enzo.
- 17:52So long for the, uh, gated manuals.
- 17:54This was it for a gated manual, V 12.
- 17:56Unbelievable.
- 17:57Now, obviously they had some subsequent front engine cars.
- 18:00The 5, 9 9, they did 20 for the US 30 worldwide.
- 18:04That was a gated manual.
- 18:05Front engine V 12, but this is pretty much your true last V 12.
- 18:10Gated manual from Ferrari.
- 18:11Absolutely beautiful.
- 18:12I love this thing in yellow.
- 18:14I think it's just damn sexy.
- 18:15Next one of my all time favorites too.
- 18:18I don't think I'd spend the money and get an extra lm. I would just replicate
- 18:21it and get a high mileage F 40 and turn it into an F 40 lm. Now, there's
- 18:26only 19 of these built by micato back in the day, but they also built F 40
- 18:31gt, and so there's a couple variants.
- 18:33They did this for racing, but there's only 19 f. 40 LMS that were built.
- 18:38Again, seeing these things in person, oh, just something about it.
- 18:42The little tweaks it does and everything to it just kind of gives it that
- 18:45little bit more of a sexier edge.
- 18:47Now this is a track only, but one of these they did at LM
- 18:51and they made it street legal.
- 18:52Uh, and actually I believe it is for sale right now too.
- 18:55I dunno if it's sold yet or not.
- 18:56And it's pretty well known because they take it out and everything like that.
- 18:59And it's in a unique color.
- 19:00It's not in the red.
- 19:01One of my all time favorites, I'm gonna be a busy boy if I win
- 19:04the Powerball Saturday night.
- 19:06Because this would be another one where I'd buy two, I'd get one
- 19:08regular for, but that I'm would take one and I'm gonna re body it.
- 19:11Supercar Ron, he did that or he bought it that way from Curated
- 19:15and his helper, his assistant, was driving somewhere and crashed it.
- 19:20O didn't do too much damage, but it did enough damage for It does.
- 19:24But again, you know, that was all different new body work because they made
- 19:28it look like an lm. It was repainted and it's like, I wanna say not blue, but.
- 19:31Kinda light chain boob.
- 19:32This was number 14th of 19 built.
- 19:35You got chassis 9 5 4 4 8.
- 19:38That's a serial number two.
- 19:39Again, this is a track only car.
- 19:41It's got engine number 15 in it.
- 19:42Gearbox number 17.
- 19:44Funny story.
- 19:45I was at Caino last year and two older gentlemen, probably in their late,
- 19:50mid seventies, the early eighties.
- 19:52The guy driving was a little bit younger, but the guy in the passenger
- 19:54seat, he was up there probably late seventies, early eighties, and
- 19:57they came rolling up in there, F 40, you know, rumbling, grumbling.
- 20:00He couldn't get outta the car.
- 20:01I had to be standing there.
- 20:03And now he was saying, Hey, uh, excuse me, could you please help me get out?
- 20:05He goes, Hey, come here.
- 20:06Help me get out.
- 20:07But you know, you got these guys that got money, they have bear kind of entitled.
- 20:11And I got to take my sip of my diet Mountain Dew, 'cause all of you know
- 20:14that, follow me and watch all my stuff.
- 20:16I'm addicted to Diet Mountain Dew.
- 20:17So anyways, these things are gorgeous.
- 20:19I, I, I just absolutely love those lms.
- 20:21They're absolutely stunning.
- 20:22Next, we're number two, highest sale Ferrari.
- 20:26This is your cow spider, short wheel based covered headlight,
- 20:30but this is a comp version of it.
- 20:32There was just two alloy body full comp spec, short wheel based cal spiders built.
- 20:37This is chassis 2 3 8 3.
- 20:39$23 million because including fees, you're at 25 million, 305,000 with fees.
- 20:47Good insight on here does not have the fees involved.
- 20:49So just think about that.
- 20:50You bought a car for $23 million.
- 20:52Bam.
- 20:53You gotta tack on almost another $2.5 million in fees.
- 20:58Unbelievable.
- 20:59So that's why I don't like auctions 2.5.
- 21:00Imagine what you can buy car-wise with that.
- 21:02Other cars and the stuff, but very, very special.
- 21:05Very special car.
- 21:07Like I said, one of two of these built for a comp.
- 21:10I mean, imagine races, you know, it's a convertible.
- 21:12Erase that back in the day.
- 21:13Gooding does a great job in regards to history and everything on this
- 21:16car, kind of giving all the story, the background, the whole nine yards on it.
- 21:19So definitely click on the link for this because it's, it's got a great video.
- 21:24It's got a lot of cool stuff.
- 21:25I mean, it really goes through this thing.
- 21:27In details and I, as it should, when you're spending that
- 21:30kind of money, gorgeous car.
- 21:32I mean, just absolutely stunning.
- 21:34And last but not least, our big seller for charity sold by Ferrari for the Ferrari
- 21:41charity for future educational endeavors.
- 21:44That's what Ferrari was saying, what the money went for?
- 21:46Everything.
- 21:46It was the final SP three that was built.
- 21:50Taylor made, they did all this funky stuff with it.
- 21:52It's like two different colors.
- 21:54They split it down the middle.
- 21:55It says Ferrari.
- 21:56They did all this really interesting stuff with it.
- 21:58A really, really specializes car.
- 22:00They had this thing going between eight and 10 million.
- 22:03It sold for $26 million.
- 22:05Unbelievable.
- 22:06I mean, 26.
- 22:07Someone with very, very, very deep pockets needed a tax write
- 22:11off because that's just obscene.
- 22:13These dcs are going just a regular SP off market.
- 22:16You're about seven, $8 million.
- 22:17So that's why I think, okay, eight to 10.
- 22:19'cause it's a tailor made special, no restriction everyth like that.
- 22:22It's a US spec car.
- 22:24So all you gotta do is you go to your local dealer, wherever's
- 22:26good's gonna get sent there.
- 22:27It's gonna get all done up so you can go drive it on the
- 22:29road, do the whole nine yards.
- 22:30It'd be good to go.
- 22:31But $26 million the room about pooped their pants or pretty much did because
- 22:37that was just absolutely crazy.
- 22:38And I'm sure Sotheby's was a little bit like miffed, like, oh yay.
- 22:42Now as a whole all the auction, auction and everything, just a little over $432
- 22:46million was brought in in auction dollars.
- 22:50Cars sold.
- 22:50So, which is great to see.
- 22:52Now, the one thing I wanted to kind of go over that was a little
- 22:54interesting is ones that didn't sell, there was some significant Ferraris.
- 22:59Especially a gooding that did not sell.
- 23:01There was a Super America that did not sell.
- 23:03There was a 1 6 6 mm slash 1 9 5 'cause it was like a combo.
- 23:08If memory serves me on this car, it's a 1 6 6 mm chance.
- 23:12But that was a 1 9 5 s spec motor, all this kind of stuff.
- 23:16Then there was another Cal Spider 61.
- 23:20Short wheel base, but it had the ugly headlights on it,
- 23:23so that didn't sell either.
- 23:25That was estimated between eight and $10 million, but as we know, the other
- 23:28one was that too, and sold below that.
- 23:30Like I said, there was some significant Ferraris that did not, so actually
- 23:33some significant cars that didn't just sell in general, there was a
- 23:362 75 GTB four cam that didn't sell.
- 23:39Those cars are fantastic.
- 23:41You ever get the opportunity to drive one of those?
- 23:42Definitely drive one.
- 23:43Absolutely sexy.
- 23:44Then another two 50 luso.
- 23:46I mean, just there was quite a few cars that did not sell
- 23:49here at the Gooding auction.
- 23:50There's one cool one if you wanted to kinda get real ballsy and make it street
- 23:54legal was a four 30 GTC track car.
- 23:56It wouldn't take too much to get that thing back.
- 23:58Lot of stuff in the lower price range under a million dollars, under a half
- 24:02a million dollars Ferrari wises that you could have got your hands on.
- 24:05So a lot of great stuff, a lot of cool stuff.
- 24:07Like I said, a lot of stuff also went unsold, but I would say out
- 24:10of the top 10 cars that sold.
- 24:12At Monterey, eight of 'em are the top 10.
- 24:15Were all Ferraris.
- 24:16What does that tell you?
- 24:17Ferrari market's very, very strong.
- 24:19It's just going up.
- 24:20So look, if you're looking to get into a Ferrari and if you're looking
- 24:23to park your money somewhere, I wanna stay safe, get ahold of me, we'll find
- 24:27you something fun, something exciting, something you go out and enjoy.
- 24:30Yes, you're gonna have to spend a few dollars, but you know what?
- 24:33You'll get your money back and then some.
- 24:35'cause you're gonna have smiles for miles driving that car.
