- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Hey you guys, welcome back.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Welcome back, welcome back to the Visual Historian Podcast YouTube channel video game and happy Friday, everybody.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: I have some great news that I wanted to share with you.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Um, this is a very informal recording.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna be very long, it's more of a helpful PSA for uh anybody that is actually using AI software in general.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: If you are paying for like a pro version of Chat GPT or Claude or whichever one you are happy to be using.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Um let me give you my scenario really quick.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm a pro photographer based out of New Orleans.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: I've been doing this for over three decades, and my normal marketing step would be as follows.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And then I'm gonna explain to you how AI just blew my doors off on how it can help me.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: I see AI as the tool that it is, it's that other employee that I could uh ask it to do anything, and uh it will say yes, sir, usually.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Um, so let's just say and it look just applies to anybody with a business, okay?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be a photographer.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna give you my example, you'll know how to apply it in your own world.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: I do a lot of headshots, I do a lot of group images for corporate work, for corporate businesses, and you know, finding time to drive around and knock on doors and shake hands, it's very time consuming and normally a waste of time.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Just because me as a business, if you just came to my door, knock-knock, and you're trying to sell me something, I would be like, Bro, why are you here, man?
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Like, I am in the middle of a work day, I had no idea you were coming.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: It's a lot, it's a lot of work.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Um, but a nice little email, little virtual handshake, is a good idea.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So let me just explain to you what I just did.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: I'm about to do a follow-up podcast and video and let you know how if I had any any results.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: But I asked chat GPT to hey, can you find me emails in the two nearest cities for lawyers and financial businesses?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So we can create a very simple introduction email with an infographic with a link to my contact us, kind of like a nice virtual handshake.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: It said yes.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So we created the email.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Um, it went ahead and did the search, it pulled up like 30, 40 uh public emails, which is how it works, by the way.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Public, it doesn't do any weird finding everybody's email on the planet, it needs to be in the public domain, the public um interest, you know, like a website, and you can find that email on the website, and that's that's usable.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: The the key is is that we we don't want to do a bulk email because then whatever email platform you're using, like Yahoo, Gmail, whatever, it's it's gonna be seen as spam.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: So I was like, can we email separately, individually, to each company, as if it's me to them, and not do a BCC, you know, a blind carbon copy.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Um, it said yes.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I'm like, get out of here.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Well, let's design this, let's send it to the first person on the list.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Let me go to my sent folder and just see what was sent.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: It said great.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: So we did that.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I looked at it, verbiage is great, it's nice and soft, and it's a great introduction.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Um, it explains I'm a local business just like they are.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Here are my services.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I would love to speak to you beyond this email.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Here's my contact info.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Click here.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Um and I was like, hey, this is fantastic.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Go ahead and send to each individual.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: You know, I repeated the process again just so it understood, and it did.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: While I got up and made lunch, it sent that exact email process individually to everyone on the list.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Oh that's amazing.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: That's amazing because I could do the same thing, me manually, but why?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: That's what these things are good for.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: They're tools, you know, something that saves you time on something that you're already doing.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: It's no different than paying an employee to do it for you.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: That's how I see AI tools, actually.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: So I was like, can we expand this list?
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Can we also look up veterinary businesses?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Can we look up dentists?
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: You know, hospitals.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm giving it some some little hints and clues, and it's like, yep, let me go look.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Pulls up another 50, 60 emails.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wow, wow, all within the range of the two cities that I asked it to search.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Sent out those emails to all that were valid.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: That's key.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: So it came up with say 30, 40 emails, and uh it does the research on the back end whether they're valid or not, so they don't get sent.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Um, I've only had a handful.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Actually, no, I've had some automatic replies come back, but I I think I had one or two that said email not sent because the email must be broken.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I just thought that was flipping amazing as all can be.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Um, by the time you're watching this video, right now it's August of 2026.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: If uh you know you're watching this in the very near future to later future, you're you're telling yourself, This is so easy, it's old school.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Well, it's not right now, it's not it's not old school, it's new, it's what we're able to do now, it's what we can be doing and should be doing with these AI tools, which is first of all, talk to it like you would another person, okay?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Speak clearly in direct directions on what you're asking it to do.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And dear Lord in heaven, ask it to run a check on itself, but then you as the human make sure everything's running correctly, make sure what is happening is gonna happen according to how you want it to happen, if that makes any sense, you know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: So the uh the other thing I wanted to mention was the ability to create ad spaces that would normally take you a lot of time, you know, and what I really do enjoy about the AI services right now is that I'm able to get a first graphic on an ad that it did for me, and I was like, hey, can we tweak this?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: It looks very AI.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Can we change the color tones?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Make it seem like I'm talking, not like you're speaking.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: It said sure, and it did it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: And chat GPT for me does graphics way better than Claude can.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Now I'm saying that that's Claude right now.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Of course, Claude tomorrow may be destroying chat GPT.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: That's just where we are right now.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Things are moving so fast.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Um, in a good way for us, they're moving fast, and they keep on improving.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Um, what I need them to do, and this is just I'm gonna end this uh video on this, is be careful of when you're clicking on chat or work.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: So when you ask it to do something in the work area, it will charge you for your time, and then when you use all your a lot uh allotted coins or points or whatever the heck you your credits that you go by, you gotta pay more.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: I was running, I was creating a studio assistant chat bot on my website, and I just asked chat, hey, can we even design this for my Squarespace website?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: It said yep, and I'm like, how?
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: That's so cool.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Because I wanted something that was custom according to what I was trying to do.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: I just I just didn't want to go find a widget, and then it was just very generic.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Um so it did, and I had no idea about open AI and paying for credits that you need to do, and then it it opened up.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Um I'm gonna say this wrong.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Hold on, give me a second.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Cloudflare.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: It opens that up, and open AI is like the service of open AI is the open version of um how it's where it's gonna run, cloud fair is the operational systems in in the background.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so the API tokens and all those things um get used.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: That is all new to me, even though that I grew up on computers and I understand what it's doing when I'm seeing it pull up all these code entries and verifications, and I know what it's doing, but I don't know how to sit here manually and do all of these things that chat is able to do in five minutes.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: That's unbelievable.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: You know, again, speak to it like you're speaking to a person.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: So as it was running the skill, I was like, hey, when people ask about mini sessions, use this link to where they can go book those sessions.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: So any you know, verbiage form of mini sessions in the fall, it said sure thing.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Give me a second, and you see it on your screen, and it's going to both of the codes and it's updating it, then it checks the update, it makes sure it makes sure that it's live.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: That's the difference of work and regular chat.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I find chat is just very laxy daisy.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: You need to check it.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Work actually does the work.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: I know that sounds weird, but you do get what you pay for, literally.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So um, look, if you want to, I would love to know in the comments.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Go to gkphotography.com.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: My studio assistant will pop up.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Ask it any questions as if you are a client.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, if you are a client calling you, calling a photographer, what would you be calling for?
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Well, those are the questions that it's prepared to ask.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: It knows all of your FAQs on your website.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but the part that I liked that I didn't even know it was even possible was I can speak to chat and say, Hey, when people are asking about weddings, can you come up with this as my starting point and then lead them to my contact page for more information?
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: It said yes.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Holy crap.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: This is awesome because it's adjustable, it's an ongoing conversation.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So, what I would like you to do, first of all, go try it out.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Let me know of any bugs, um, which is great, because that's an easy fix on my end when I know about them, you know.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Um, if the studio assistant seems like a waste of time, I may delete it.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: But right now it's new, it's on my website, it's a virtual handshake, it talks to my clients, it helps guide them through my website way quicker immediately, rather than relying on them to scroll and find the pages I want them to find.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: That's what I was really trying to do was give it um an experience that they're not seeing from other photographers locally.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: So, um, anyway, that's what I wanted to do.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, man, it's Friday.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: I hope you guys are having a fantastic Friday leading into this weekend of ours.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: It is blistering hot over here in New Orleans.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, 110 degrees is hot anywhere.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: And uh, if you have been to any of the south, then you'll understand what our humidity does, it makes the air thicker, and I swear it's a little harder to breathe.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Um, but that wear and tear on your body, man, from that heat and the humidity just sucks all the moisture out of your body.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: We can't walk to our car without needing a shower.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Like, that's that's rough, man.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: So not only is it 110 degrees, but the the 105 humidity index is insane.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: It's almost like somebody's trying to kill us, man.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Um, so look, you guys, thank you so much for being here.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Uh, I have way more to come.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: I wanted to throw out this PSA just because it's Friday, this will give you something to do over the weekend.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Go try it out.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Um, I would love to hear and read the comments of what you guys think about all these things.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: And uh please, if you do go check out my studio assistant, just uh let me know of any bugs, you know, or any ideas you may have.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'll see if it's worthy of asking Chat GPT Pro to update it for me.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Uh all right.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: This is my outro.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: It's my big idea.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: My mic was turned off.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: All right, see you next time.
