- 0:23Speaker 1: on Geek Ultimate Life podcast Memory for any and all
- 0:25Speaker 1: Things star Wars, where we have all the shows that
- 0:28Speaker 1: you need, seven days a week. Basically, I am your
- 0:33Speaker 1: host as always Katie, and with me for this special
- 0:38Speaker 1: Sunday recording is Clay Clay. We are here to talk
- 0:42Speaker 1: about Star Wars celebration. Are you ready for this? We
- 0:45Speaker 1: forgot this at the beginning, but just as a reminder,
- 0:48Speaker 1: while and Or is airing Our Lives episodes will not
- 0:51Speaker 1: be on Wednesdays. They will be Saturday nights at eight
- 0:56Speaker 1: pm Eastern Standard time. So that is is this Saturday,
- 1:02Speaker 1: which is April twenty sixth. Next Saturday, which is April.
- 1:06Speaker 1: It is not April third, it is May third, May tenth,
- 1:11Speaker 1: and then May seventeenth. So that is our next four
- 1:16Speaker 1: live dates.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I am so ready. I was actually a little bit
- 1:22Speaker 2: inside baseball for you guys. I was actually doing last
- 1:26Speaker 2: minute ad breaks and editing on our Wayseeker review, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: literally like first five minutes we were like, oh man,
- 1:39Speaker 2: We're gonna have so much to talk about on Sunday,
- 1:41Speaker 2: And I'm like, all right, yeah, totally forgot that. We
- 1:44Speaker 2: actually started to talk about that stuff and then stopped
- 1:46Speaker 2: so we could talk talk about it here today. So yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 2: I am ready. I'm excited because I'm just gonna go
- 1:57Speaker 2: ahead and say it. We will talk about the specifics
- 2:00Speaker 2: when we get there, but I am too for two
- 2:04Speaker 2: on predictions. I am so happy I.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Want to call party foul on one of them. So, oh, okay,
- 2:16Speaker 1: it's the party foul to you, it's party fould to
- 2:19Speaker 1: celebration itself.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get to it. We'll get to it. But Katie,
- 2:25Speaker 2: where do you want to start? Do you want to
- 2:27Speaker 2: go day by day? Do you want to go to uh,
- 2:32Speaker 2: least excited to most excited? Like how do you want
- 2:36Speaker 2: to do this? I don't know.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I just kind of put the topics on the page.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I assumed we'd follow the page.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like it's up to you. But like you know,
- 2:45Speaker 2: people people like a little bit of structure, people like chaos.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So I'm just asking, hey, do.
- 2:52Speaker 1: This like we're gonna go for movies? First? I think definitely,
- 2:56Speaker 1: And then I think this is formatted day by day
- 3:01Speaker 1: is what I did.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So it looks like it. So I think we're good.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I just went down the Star Wars dot Com
- 3:08Speaker 1: celebration web page, and that's how I made my topics. So, y'all,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I made show notes. Okay, you need to clap wherever you.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Are because they are very impressive. By the way. I
- 3:21Speaker 2: like it. I like it. I like it. I like it.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'm a very go by the flow person. But with
- 3:27Speaker 1: how much news there was, which genuinely surprised me because
- 3:32Speaker 1: a lot of this here is like news related and
- 3:34Speaker 1: not really just like hey, like this is how we
- 3:38Speaker 1: feel about this kind of thing. Yeah, but to go
- 3:42Speaker 1: ahead and talk about this Star Wars celebration twenty twenty seven,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I know, getting that little ahead of the game. We're
- 3:49Speaker 1: going to closing ceremonies, but then we'll go day by day.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I promise is going to be in Los Angeles for
- 3:55Speaker 1: the fiftieth anniversary of Star Wars. Also, one hundred and
- 3:59Speaker 1: twenty five countries were represented at this Star Wars celebration
- 4:03Speaker 1: in Japan. Like, that's so impressive to me. So if
- 4:11Speaker 1: you were there, props. I know. Hopefully we will have
- 4:15Speaker 1: Adrian on to talk about the experience. But like, yeah,
- 4:20Speaker 1: my it looked like it.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Was still fun Network, my old podcast network that I
- 4:25Speaker 2: was on prior to the GUA went to celebration this.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I was a little jealous.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I was a little jealous too because when this was
- 4:37Speaker 1: announced in twenty twenty three, I was like, not we're
- 4:39Speaker 1: going to go to this, We're gonna go to this,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and then I decided to have the baby.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Okay, but in all seriousness, Katie, we gotta have a
- 4:48Speaker 2: conversation we do next celebration because they made the announcement
- 4:53Speaker 2: of where it's gonna be, and we'll talk about it
- 4:55Speaker 2: at the very end.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Uh. I already said, oh.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Well yeah yeah. But like Abby was like, isn't that
- 5:02Speaker 2: the year that you promised Amberln that we're going to
- 5:05Speaker 2: Disney World? And I was like, yeah, but we can
- 5:10Speaker 2: all go to Disney World and then only I can
- 5:12Speaker 2: go to celebration. Like correct, That's something that could totally happen.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Absolutely, And you know, to get the rundown on Star
- 5:22Speaker 1: Wars Starfighter because Celebration seven is April first, threw and fourth. Yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 1: that could be super fun.
- 5:34Speaker 2: We got, we gotta got we we have to have
- 5:37Speaker 2: an actual talk about this. No promises, I would say that,
- 5:42Speaker 2: no promises, We're going to have a conversation. We're gonna
- 5:46Speaker 2: see how it goes, but it may actually be a
- 5:48Speaker 2: goal to go to celebration.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Who knows when might have a panel proposal or something
- 5:55Speaker 1: if we can come up with that exactly wait to
- 6:00Speaker 1: the celebration.
- 6:02Speaker 2: You spoke about it Starfighter. First up, very first thing
- 6:06Speaker 2: that popped up.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This is why I want to call party foul because
- 6:11Speaker 1: this panel was entitled on all the panel news and
- 6:17Speaker 1: everything like pamphlets whatnot, it was entitled the Mandalorian in
- 6:21Speaker 1: Grogu And the first bit of news is Sean Levy
- 6:27Speaker 1: and Ryan Gosling walk out on the stage. Hell yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I think that's a party foul.
- 6:34Speaker 2: No, it's not. No, no, no, because you got to
- 6:38Speaker 2: make it a surprise. You gotta make this like because
- 6:41Speaker 2: for one, the easy layup was Sean Levy, you know,
- 6:46Speaker 2: just being like, I agree with that he's gonna, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 2: officially announce this movie, and then boom, you know that's
- 6:55Speaker 2: that Ryan Gosling being there. I said, hey, I'm gonna
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna, you know, on all my predictions. I said,
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna go for the craziest prediction I could possibly say.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And I even said, hey, does Japan really like, is
- 7:14Speaker 2: Japan really in love with Ryan Gosling? Because I could
- 7:17Speaker 2: see that being like the Hey, you should really go
- 7:20Speaker 2: because Japan loves you. Now. The reason why I don't,
- 7:23Speaker 2: the reason why I say it's not a party foul
- 7:26Speaker 2: is for one, yes, it needs to be a surprise. Two,
- 7:32Speaker 2: I think this quite possibly opens a small spoiler or
- 7:41Speaker 2: window into Sean Levy's movie. Why announce it here?
- 7:48Speaker 1: Okay? If it does, you think it's going to make
- 7:52Speaker 1: an appearance.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I'm thinking Gosling is making an appearance in Mandalorian Grogu.
- 7:58Speaker 1: How does that work? I don't. I don't see that
- 8:00Speaker 1: happening because so okay, so let's look at this. Gossling
- 8:08Speaker 1: is Ryan Gosling is? That doesn't tell me how old
- 8:14Speaker 1: he is. He's forty four years old. Yeah, I guess
- 8:18Speaker 1: they could like manually manipulate him cgi him to look
- 8:24Speaker 1: younger in the Mandalorian and Grogu. But like, there's thirty
- 8:29Speaker 1: five years between Mandelorian and not thirty five years because
- 8:34Speaker 1: Ben was born a year after Return of the Jedi.
- 8:38Speaker 1: There's thirty five years between Return of the Jedi and
- 8:42Speaker 1: the Force Awakens. Yes, and there's forty years between return
- 8:48Speaker 1: of the Jedi and Starfighter.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Has Start Fighter been?
- 8:54Speaker 1: That's what's in the show notes. It says five years
- 8:56Speaker 1: after Rise of Skywalker.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Read ah, yes, okay, yeah, no, no, no, no, you're right,
- 9:02Speaker 2: you're right, you're right, So so let me walk it
- 9:07Speaker 2: back then. No, I won't see I don't think Ryan
- 9:12Speaker 2: Gosling could be in the Mandalinian Grogu. But I could
- 9:17Speaker 2: see there being some sort of.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Are you thinking he's broom boy? I'm using that as
- 9:25Speaker 1: like a term here.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I know what you mean. But no, I don't think
- 9:31Speaker 2: he's a broom boy. Because as soon as they said,
- 9:38Speaker 2: like when they showed the title the Star Wars Starfighter,
- 9:43Speaker 2: I immediately said I knew he was a pilot, Like
- 9:47Speaker 2: I said it out loud. I knew he was going
- 9:49Speaker 2: to be a pilot. I don't think he's for sensitive anymore.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I don't think he's going to be a Jedi or whatever. Now,
- 9:58Speaker 2: you could pull a fast one and you could, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 2: play the the U s his name I Jedi horn Horn.
- 10:12Speaker 2: You could definitely do that last, you know, But now
- 10:15Speaker 2: seeing it, I don't think that's the case.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Well, when I say broom boy, I didn't mean precisely,
- 10:20Speaker 1: broom boy. I meant like, okay, is he like the
- 10:24Speaker 1: Spider Man and Iron Man two where the.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Kid oh, okay, okay, and then you.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Have the adult later. All right, y'all, we're going to
- 10:32Speaker 1: hit our first ad break and we will be right
- 10:35Speaker 1: back in three two one.
- 10:39Speaker 2: If that's the case. If that's the meaning, No, I
- 10:43Speaker 2: don't think he's gonna be in Manda Loring grog But
- 10:45Speaker 2: what I do think is that there could possibly be
- 10:49Speaker 2: like the start quote unquote of whatever fleet or company
- 10:59Speaker 2: that Ryan Gosling's character will eventually be flying in. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 2: like we we see the start of that in the
- 11:10Speaker 2: Mandalorian Grogu movie or the appearance of.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I could see it. But with the Republic being based
- 11:19Speaker 1: on Hosney and Prime in the sequel trilogy, I don't
- 11:24Speaker 1: know if like the Republic takes back over, do you
- 11:28Speaker 1: catch my meaning? Like, so, I don't know if those
- 11:33Speaker 1: those Starfighter units would transition over Okay because of that, Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: we'll see. As we have said, Sean Levy is directing.
- 11:45Speaker 1: It is going to go into production this fall and
- 11:48Speaker 1: currently has a release date of May twenty eighth, twenty
- 11:53Speaker 1: twenty seven, which is Memorial Day weekend, So it will
- 11:59Speaker 1: be a good two months after Star Wars celebration twenty
- 12:03Speaker 1: twenty seven when it comes out.
- 12:07Speaker 2: And it being Memorial Day weekend, that's a great three
- 12:11Speaker 2: day weekend for movies.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Correct.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I think that's amazing for Star Wars to be quote
- 12:18Speaker 2: unquote back in theaters. Yeah, I think. I think it'll
- 12:23Speaker 2: be It'll be fun. Yes, But well, I was gonna say,
- 12:28Speaker 2: speaking of back in theaters, we still have a movie
- 12:32Speaker 2: that's prior to that coming out in theaters.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Correct. The Mandalorian and grogu the focus of this panel,
- 12:40Speaker 1: as per the namesake, did get most of the time
- 12:46Speaker 1: slot on here. Kathleen Kennedy did come out for this panel,
- 12:49Speaker 1: by the way, so she was on stage, but Feloni
- 12:53Speaker 1: and Favreau came out with So Goourney Weaver and Pedro
- 12:56Speaker 1: Pascal to talk about the Mandalorian and Grog. It looks
- 13:01Speaker 1: like Sigourney Weaver is playing another X Wing pilot that
- 13:05Speaker 1: hires Din to go looking for somebody.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna go ahead and say it, Sigourney Weaver looks amazing.
- 13:18Speaker 2: She does in that suit. Now, I'm not gonna say
- 13:22Speaker 2: he doesn't look like she's aged at all. Since the eighties.
- 13:25Speaker 2: But my god, the type of work that she has
- 13:29Speaker 2: done to her body, make up, everything else. She looks
- 13:33Speaker 2: great for her age, like the the HD photos that
- 13:38Speaker 2: were being shared online and everything else, she looks amazing.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I'm really going to enjoy her in this. There was
- 13:49Speaker 2: a excuse me, small clip and the actual trailer that
- 13:55Speaker 2: was actually being passed around. Guys, these trailers were being
- 14:01Speaker 2: snatched from the internet so fast, and say, we're lucky
- 14:07Speaker 2: enough to grab first looks at these trailers not from Adrian,
- 14:13Speaker 2: but you know, we were able to get them from
- 14:15Speaker 2: the internet real quick. We shared them with each other.
- 14:16Speaker 2: We're like, watch hurry, Harry. So we saw mostly everything
- 14:21Speaker 2: that was shown. But there's a moment with her and Grogu,
- 14:26Speaker 2: like when they're sitting down at a table, and that's
- 14:29Speaker 2: all I'll say, because it's just a really funny, cute,
- 14:33Speaker 2: very Star Wars moment there.
- 14:37Speaker 1: This feels like what they based on the footage and
- 14:41Speaker 1: the descriptions from what came out from Celebration. It feels
- 14:44Speaker 1: like what they wanted Solo to kind of be like
- 14:47Speaker 1: just a fun Star Wars movie that you can go
- 14:50Speaker 1: to theater with and enjoy and not really have to
- 14:55Speaker 1: think a lot about it is what it kind of
- 14:57Speaker 1: feels like based on that first trailer, So we will see.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I will say also, apparently the AT and T footage
- 15:08Speaker 1: using loose terms here looks awesome for the fight. So
- 15:14Speaker 1: very excited for when we get to officially see it.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the last piece of the trailer, Oh yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 2: go ahead, go ahead.
- 15:23Speaker 1: The last piece of the trailer included a first look
- 15:26Speaker 1: at rod of the Hut, and Feloni and Favreau actually
- 15:30Speaker 1: acknowledged how the huts have kind of been manipulated visually
- 15:36Speaker 1: in the comics to kind of be a variety of
- 15:39Speaker 1: sizes and shapes and everything, and so they wanted a
- 15:42Speaker 1: chance to do it on the big screen for the
- 15:45Speaker 1: first time.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I really like it's it's guys, it's literally a blink
- 15:52Speaker 2: and you miss it part of this trailer. The screen
- 15:58Speaker 2: grab of that trailer has made its way onto the.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Internet and it has still not been taken down.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that one hasn't been taken down because I honestly
- 16:07Speaker 2: think it's such a small moment compared to everything else
- 16:11Speaker 2: that I think they were just like, okay, that's that's okay,
- 16:14Speaker 2: to keep up.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It's fine, and you don't even see like the huts
- 16:17Speaker 1: face or anything. Everybody's just kind of assuming it's like
- 16:21Speaker 1: a it's.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Like a worm's eye view, like way back like behind him,
- 16:27Speaker 2: so you just see him raising his arms in this
- 16:32Speaker 2: arena type of setting.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah, so we will see It's do out in
- 16:40Speaker 1: almost a year now, so yeah, we'll see what happens.
- 16:47Speaker 1: So the last bit of film news that Kennedy talked about,
- 16:52Speaker 1: it's just confirmation of other films that are currently in
- 16:55Speaker 1: the works. I said in production on the show, notes
- 16:58Speaker 1: it's just kind of in the works really, So Charmine obeyed,
- 17:02Speaker 1: Shannoi's ray film, James Mangold's film, Taikawa's film, and a
- 17:07Speaker 1: new trilogy from Simon Kinberg and not related to celebration news.
- 17:11Speaker 1: But we did get uh this, I believe it was
- 17:15Speaker 1: from screen Rant that Takaw film just got an update
- 17:20Speaker 1: because Poor Things. Writer Tony mc namara will take on
- 17:25Speaker 1: the next draft of the script for his Star Wars movie.
- 17:31Speaker 2: A movie that we thought was dead somehow. Taiker's film
- 17:39Speaker 2: is like and this is like very harsh to say,
- 17:43Speaker 2: but I mean, honestly, if you know what you're getting into,
- 17:46Speaker 2: I think you can honestly enjoy a Taycho movie, but
- 17:50Speaker 2: like his Star Wars film is just like the cockroach
- 17:53Speaker 2: that won't die, Like you get the spray, you get
- 17:55Speaker 2: the shoe, you get the swatter, like everything, and it's
- 17:58Speaker 2: still just like it's still lingering. I'm interested to see
- 18:04Speaker 2: what comes of this because I genuinely believe, like I
- 18:10Speaker 2: have said, like Katie have said, like Adrian has said,
- 18:14Speaker 2: Star Wars works best when it's thrusted into a genre.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Taika knows what genre he knows best, and that is
- 18:27Speaker 2: the slapstick comedy type of movie, which in all honestly
- 18:35Speaker 2: he can do like raw emotion as well in very
- 18:40Speaker 2: small pockets. But he knows his stick, he knows his genre.
- 18:46Speaker 2: So because of that, I genuinely believe a Star Wars
- 18:52Speaker 2: universe movie with his genre could work. Oh so I'm
- 18:59Speaker 2: still interested in it. I just don't know if everybody
- 19:04Speaker 2: else will be. And we'll definitely see when all of
- 19:07Speaker 2: that comes to fruition.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm excited by this. I know I loved for uh,
- 19:14Speaker 1: Ragnarok a lot more than you did Love and thunder Hit.
- 19:20Speaker 1: It hits sometimes, it misses other times, but Ragnarok was
- 19:24Speaker 1: definitely top tier Marvel for me, and you can judge
- 19:27Speaker 1: me all you want for that, Okay, I'm just saying
- 19:31Speaker 1: it's my perspective. So I have not seen Poor Things.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I think.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Poor things.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I don't even know what that is.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Okay, so poor things, yes, okay, So that this was
- 19:44Speaker 1: the time I thought it was. It is definitely a
- 19:48Speaker 1: weird film.
- 19:49Speaker 2: But it ah, okay.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Like rapists and like genital mutilation and things. Because this
- 20:02Speaker 1: was Oscar nominated I think for twenty twenty four and
- 20:06Speaker 1: I was like, dude, I'm not watching that, not my company.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Weird Okay, So very weird movie.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I from what I've heard, it fits what TTS vibes.
- 20:18Speaker 2: So okay, it could it could, it could.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Hit who knows, so we will see, we'll see. To
- 20:29Speaker 1: move on to the publishing panel, we're gonna go into
- 20:34Speaker 1: our second ad break and we'll be right back. There
- 20:38Speaker 1: was not really any new reveals here other than they
- 20:43Speaker 1: did talk about the art of Star Wars Andrew, which
- 20:46Speaker 1: is for the complete series, uh and that will be
- 20:50Speaker 1: available in March twenty twenty six. The other new thing
- 20:55Speaker 1: that was revealed, And I'm gonna go ahead and talk
- 20:59Speaker 1: about this because by the time this publishes, the embargo
- 21:05Speaker 1: is up for way Seeker. So the Full Trials of
- 21:08Speaker 1: the Jedi cover was released and it showcases the full
- 21:12Speaker 1: Luminous Nine plus Ember, so the full Luminous Nine, and
- 21:17Speaker 1: they showed additional concept art for this, but the cover
- 21:21Speaker 1: also showcases them. So it's l Zar Avar, Burryaga, Bell,
- 21:26Speaker 1: and Taie and now those were the ones that we
- 21:29Speaker 1: knew of. The next set is Aslin Wreath Terarik not
- 21:35Speaker 1: Serah Terik, and Buckets of Blood and it looks like Aslin,
- 21:40Speaker 1: like you pointed out, Clay is potentially wielding the Rod
- 21:44Speaker 1: of Sessions, I think is what it is on the cover,
- 21:48Speaker 1: So that's super interesting. But we did also get a
- 21:51Speaker 1: summary that they are going to Planet X to basically
- 21:57Speaker 1: restore the Nameless. So what do you think about this?
- 22:01Speaker 2: I really like this reveal.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I love.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I can't even remember who the who the artist is
- 22:11Speaker 2: for this cover, but just the style of their art
- 22:18Speaker 2: with buckets of Blood just towering on the back of
- 22:22Speaker 2: this book. I absolutely love it. And you know, it
- 22:26Speaker 2: was just it was just I was just looking at
- 22:28Speaker 2: it and when I saw like the pink and purple
- 22:31Speaker 2: like aura and power coming off of this rod was
- 22:35Speaker 2: when I was like, holy crap, he's not who the
- 22:37Speaker 2: Olhite Saber, Like, what is this law? So I thought
- 22:42Speaker 2: that was really really cool. We had been talking about
- 22:50Speaker 2: the possibility of the Luminous Nine die and while you
- 22:57Speaker 2: were making these notes. I think you were literally making
- 23:01Speaker 2: these notes when you when you messaged us saying, wait
- 23:05Speaker 2: a minute, they can't all die because of this character.
- 23:10Speaker 2: And I literally can't say it because that is in
- 23:14Speaker 2: the review that is actually taking place this Thursday when
- 23:18Speaker 2: you guys are hearing this.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, technically the embargoes up so we could tell you
- 23:22Speaker 1: the character. But I think Clay is smart here in
- 23:25Speaker 1: leaving that for the review. But basically, one of these
- 23:28Speaker 1: characters is in that book, which means not everybody's gonna die.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah, So if you remember from the Master and Apprentice
- 23:38Speaker 1: prophecy to heal the Sense of the Nameless, many Jedi
- 23:42Speaker 1: will die. Basically that's paraphrasing, but that's basically what the
- 23:46Speaker 1: prophecy is. So it's like, okay, so is that the
- 23:52Speaker 1: signifier everybody going to Planet X is gonna die? No,
- 23:56Speaker 1: it is not. The other High Republic news piece that
- 24:04Speaker 1: came of this is they revealed the last piece of
- 24:09Speaker 1: Phase three media is actually going to be a one
- 24:13Speaker 1: shut finishing off the Fear of the Jedi mini series
- 24:16Speaker 1: by Cavin Scott, and it's going to focus on our
- 24:19Speaker 1: crew from the Marvel comics and it is entitled The
- 24:22Speaker 1: Beacon and it is out July thirtieth.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Is this when we finally see eighth Kiev leave?
- 24:39Speaker 1: I would assume so.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I think I think so. I think with the with
- 24:47Speaker 2: Trials being over, this being the end, I think this
- 24:54Speaker 2: is literally going to be a conclusion, an actual epilogue
- 25:01Speaker 2: to the High Republic. Katie. I was a little sad
- 25:11Speaker 2: because I was telling everybody and kind of just like
- 25:16Speaker 2: throwing it out there into the ethos hoping that it
- 25:19Speaker 2: would happen. I'm like, maybe they'll have more announcements on
- 25:21Speaker 2: the High Republic. Maybe they'll surprise us with one really big, like, hey,
- 25:26Speaker 2: by the way, all these characters that you know and love,
- 25:29Speaker 2: we're not saying goodbye completely. And here is what I
- 25:33Speaker 2: came the realization, the realization that I came to after
- 25:38Speaker 2: celebration is because they literally can't make that announcement because
- 25:44Speaker 2: Trials is not out correct.
- 25:48Speaker 1: They have to kind of finish everything off and Captain
- 25:51Speaker 1: said when he talked about this one shot in his newsletter,
- 25:55Speaker 1: like this may be the end of the current with
- 25:59Speaker 1: of the Higher Republic, but it's not the end of
- 26:02Speaker 1: the Higher Republic. So he's already said that in his comic.
- 26:05Speaker 1: We also still have Broken Blade. I know, because Charles
- 26:09Speaker 1: soul is like part of the creative team for Star Wars. Now,
- 26:13Speaker 1: there's no way he's not going to publish Broken Blade.
- 26:17Speaker 2: See there's there's Broken Blade. But like I I think
- 26:21Speaker 2: that there is still hope with For one, we have
- 26:28Speaker 2: Sandy Comic Con immediately after the release of Trials, not
- 26:37Speaker 2: a little bit after, not even a month after. Yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 2: so I think that's plenty of time that passes to be.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Like account for spoilers and that anything exactly.
- 26:47Speaker 2: And then there and then they're being like, oh, hey,
- 26:50Speaker 2: here's the Higher Republic. But not only that, we've seen
- 26:55Speaker 2: Star Wars and the publishing make announcements at New York
- 27:00Speaker 2: Comic On as well. Those are two conventions that are
- 27:03Speaker 2: still you know, here this year to pass. And we've
- 27:08Speaker 2: had both Michael and Tom both say hey, we are
- 27:14Speaker 2: not subjected to making these really big announcements strictly at
- 27:21Speaker 2: celebrations at San Diego or anywhere else. We can literally
- 27:24Speaker 2: make them whenever we want.
- 27:26Speaker 1: And Tom posted about that again because he responded to
- 27:29Speaker 1: somebody on Twitter who was kind of upset that there
- 27:31Speaker 1: wasn't any like real new announcements at celebration, and he
- 27:37Speaker 1: pointed out, like, you don't often get a live audience
- 27:41Speaker 1: to talk about book things and like tell what your
- 27:45Speaker 1: story is going to be about. So yes, could they
- 27:48Speaker 1: have announced Adam Christopher's book at celebration, Yes, but a
- 27:55Speaker 1: lot of time has passed now where they can go, Okay, hey,
- 27:58Speaker 1: a lot of people have read like the mini synopsis
- 28:02Speaker 1: and everything. Let's ask a question instead, Whereas if you
- 28:06Speaker 1: just announced that at celebration, a lot of times an
- 28:09Speaker 1: audience doesn't get a chance to process things. So I
- 28:13Speaker 1: do think it was smart. Adam even said that Master
- 28:18Speaker 1: Evil takes place very close to the end of Revenge
- 28:20Speaker 1: of the Sith, and it helps fill in some gaps
- 28:22Speaker 1: from Charles Sol's Vader comics, including one gap he doesn't
- 28:27Speaker 1: think that the story group or Soul even remembers about.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And once again, guys, this book is about Vader search
- 28:37Speaker 1: for eternal life, so I think that'll also bring some
- 28:40Speaker 1: potentially cool tie ins with the Acolyte potentially, So it's
- 28:47Speaker 1: something to definitely keep an eye on. This book is
- 28:49Speaker 1: out in November eleventh of this year. It should be
- 28:52Speaker 1: the last I'm thinking of the year for Star Wars.
- 28:57Speaker 2: For Star Wars, yeah, I think so. The last time, well,
- 29:00Speaker 2: last year we had oh, shoot, what was the historian book?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it was The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.
- 29:12Speaker 1: But then we also had Tempest Breaker at the beginning
- 29:14Speaker 1: of December.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Oh, it was the beginning of December. Forgot about that. Well, okay,
- 29:21Speaker 2: that is a little bit because that was an audio
- 29:25Speaker 2: drama and not a novel. Uh so I think there's
- 29:29Speaker 2: a little bit of like, you know, leeway there for.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Speaking of riise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. Chris
- 29:37Speaker 1: Kipshaw was actually at celebration and I didn't get this
- 29:42Speaker 1: in here because it wasn't in the Star Wars dot
- 29:44Speaker 1: Com notes, but he was asked a question and he
- 29:47Speaker 1: said he is working on a sequel, and his hint
- 29:50Speaker 1: was rogue to responding, so basically wedgedentillities.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Oh well, I guess I'm definitely gonna have to read
- 29:59Speaker 2: that book.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Now we again, we we we we are we've have we.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Have it in the realm of our planning and we've
- 30:09Speaker 2: kind of been moving it or whatever. We've both made
- 30:14Speaker 2: it very well known that, uh, non fiction is not
- 30:19Speaker 2: like super big in our criteria of reading fun. This
- 30:25Speaker 2: book is literally written in a fictional universe as a
- 30:30Speaker 2: non fiction like makes it hard. Yeah, it's it's it's
- 30:34Speaker 2: a very weird so I will probably wait. Actually, I
- 30:44Speaker 2: haven't even looked. Have they even made a uh audiobook
- 30:51Speaker 2: of this?
- 30:52Speaker 1: No, I don't think so.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's a different publisher.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so uh, in all honesty, what I might do
- 31:03Speaker 2: is I might be searching for it on Libby to
- 31:07Speaker 2: see if I can't get a quick read in and
- 31:13Speaker 2: if I really start and enjoying it. Of course, we've
- 31:16Speaker 2: made we've made it known that, like, hey, I always
- 31:19Speaker 2: try to read something digitally before you buy it physically.
- 31:23Speaker 2: But it is a Star Wars book that I would
- 31:25Speaker 2: probably love to have in my collection anyway, so I
- 31:27Speaker 2: know it'll make my way on my shelf.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yeah. From what I've read so far, it does have
- 31:33Speaker 1: like really good tie ins and Kemshall wrote it really well.
- 31:38Speaker 1: It's just it's non fiction and a fiction universe that's
- 31:43Speaker 1: like my only hang up really, all right, So moving
- 31:49Speaker 1: into the comics realm of things. So Keleron beck On
- 31:55Speaker 1: my best character from The Mandalorian and oh my gosh,
- 32:00Speaker 1: it's the it's the YouTube show which is like the
- 32:03Speaker 1: kids training camp thing for the Jedi. But he's going
- 32:08Speaker 1: to be the feature Jedi in Star Wars Jedi Knights
- 32:10Speaker 1: issue number eight, where he is teaming up with Yoda
- 32:16Speaker 1: and other Jedi Knights to fight someone. We haven't been
- 32:19Speaker 1: reading that comic because we're waiting for it to come
- 32:22Speaker 1: to Marvel Unlimited, so once it does, we will start
- 32:26Speaker 1: doing the reedy things the other comic bit of news.
- 32:32Speaker 1: So we had kind of talked about this when this
- 32:34Speaker 1: comic was first announced for the Legacy of Vader, Charles
- 32:37Speaker 1: Soul had talked about how Order sixty Sex was going
- 32:41Speaker 1: to play a small role in the comic, and it
- 32:45Speaker 1: looks like we may have found out what that role
- 32:48Speaker 1: is going to be with the introduction of a new
- 32:51Speaker 1: character called Tava Wren, who is the new leader of
- 32:55Speaker 1: the Knights of Wren in this comic, which again remind
- 32:59Speaker 1: everybody's between the Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. She
- 33:04Speaker 1: and Kylo are going to face off and Taala is
- 33:07Speaker 1: an Order sixty six survivor.
- 33:12Speaker 2: How do you feel about that?
- 33:14Speaker 1: I don't mind it. I think as kind of the
- 33:17Speaker 1: canon universe has built out, we kind of see different
- 33:20Speaker 1: lifespans going around. I would think at this point she
- 33:24Speaker 1: was a Jedi Padmon, but honestly she could be Vernestra.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Who knows? Like that was a yeah joke? And you
- 33:32Speaker 1: didn't even say anything.
- 33:33Speaker 2: No, I I I like I could see there being like, hey,
- 33:39Speaker 2: how do we pull this way into uh in a
- 33:44Speaker 2: small little teaser for our ouh Way Seeker review in
- 33:52Speaker 2: the sense of we seeing Vernestra have a lot of
- 33:55Speaker 2: growth and a lot of different mindsets. Who's to say
- 34:01Speaker 2: she doesn't finally, you know, get to this point where
- 34:05Speaker 2: she finally realizes, man, Yoda's a piece of shit. I'm
- 34:08Speaker 2: gonna go to the dark side, you know. So who knows?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah exactly so I can't remember which issue she was
- 34:21Speaker 1: going to come into being in, but yeah, it'll be
- 34:27Speaker 1: interesting to see basically, Yeah, yeah, I know Snell was
- 34:32Speaker 1: not excited about this, but he loves Kylo, so he
- 34:36Speaker 1: may read this. He may not. Now I don't know.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Well, and you know, and in all honesty, we've talked
- 34:43Speaker 2: about the idea of them going back to that. Well, Hey,
- 34:48Speaker 2: Order sixty six survivor, Order sixty six survivor, Order sixty
- 34:51Speaker 2: six survivor. Guys, this entire galaxy was protected by Jedi galaxy,
- 35:01Speaker 2: not planet, not Solar system galaxy. There were thousands upon
- 35:10Speaker 2: thousands of Jedi. We've known that there are the unknown
- 35:18Speaker 2: regions of this galaxy. There could have been very easily
- 35:23Speaker 2: Jedi that didn't that, that had no idea what Order
- 35:28Speaker 2: sixty six was until they made their way into the
- 35:31Speaker 2: known galaxy. So I'm okay with this. I'm literally as
- 35:38Speaker 2: long as you can have the story to back up
- 35:41Speaker 2: your claim correct and that it makes sense and we're
- 35:46Speaker 2: not just literally drawing back from the well from other
- 35:51Speaker 2: individual stories. Because you can't tell me the exact same
- 35:58Speaker 2: story of Riva fourteen times. I'm gonna get tired after
- 36:03Speaker 2: the fourth, you know, So it has to be a
- 36:07Speaker 2: little different every single time. You have to make it
- 36:11Speaker 2: make sense. Yeah, as long as they do that, I'm
- 36:13Speaker 2: totally fine. Legitimately, I am totally fine with this. The
- 36:20Speaker 2: next piece of news we as far as publishing we.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Have, I think the last thing is the last bullet.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yes, Alyssa Wong said that she they sorry. They they
- 36:38Speaker 2: had some plans to be working on, of course, some
- 36:43Speaker 2: Star Wars stuff, but they could not say anything with
- 36:48Speaker 2: the possible threat of Michael singlaning suplexing man, which I
- 36:55Speaker 2: think is very is very funny because this weekend is
- 36:58Speaker 2: literally WrestleMania. So just using that verbiage was gold. Would
- 37:06Speaker 2: you like to make a prediction, what do you think.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Obviously? Okay, I can't really say obviously, but I don't
- 37:15Speaker 1: think is Afra based. I think it's something.
- 37:19Speaker 2: New, Okay, Okay.
- 37:23Speaker 1: I would probably guess towards comic related just because that's
- 37:28Speaker 1: kind of their strongest suit, that's what they have done
- 37:32Speaker 1: a lot of work in. But I would also really
- 37:36Speaker 1: be excited to see a novel, So.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I would be interested in a novel because, like you said, she,
- 37:44Speaker 2: they are more known for their comic book work. But
- 37:52Speaker 2: I am also going to say comic. But I am
- 37:57Speaker 2: going to say a Republic.
- 38:00Speaker 1: You're gonna high Republic comic.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I'm going to say high Republic comic. And I'm going
- 38:03Speaker 2: to go as far as again because I'm feeling lucky
- 38:07Speaker 2: because I am just so good with these predictions these days,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I'm saying High Republic, I'm saying Soilandra's show.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I would not bet on Silandra. I would probably lean
- 38:20Speaker 1: towards our Golden Trio. You think so in their Padawan days?
- 38:31Speaker 2: Oh, I would love that. But hmmm, hold on, hold on,
- 38:45Speaker 2: I just want to yeah, you keep going.
- 38:49Speaker 1: So while Clay thinks about that, I'm going to go
- 38:52Speaker 1: ahead and jump into our next panel that we had,
- 38:56Speaker 1: which was animation saving the big topic, The Young Jedi
- 39:01Speaker 1: Adventures show uh will return for season three this coming fall,
- 39:06Speaker 1: no official release date, and we're about to jump into
- 39:09Speaker 1: our third ad y'all.
- 39:12Speaker 3: We promise we'll be right back.
- 39:13Speaker 1: We promise. Just said this fall kind of showed some
- 39:17Speaker 1: footage with some new characters. It looks like the show
- 39:20Speaker 1: is really growing. I have not had a chance to
- 39:22Speaker 1: go back to season two and finish that off, but
- 39:26Speaker 1: I'm also really excited to just see that this show
- 39:29Speaker 1: is getting a lot of love and that the High
- 39:32Speaker 1: Republic is getting some attention.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say, well, for one, going back to
- 39:37Speaker 2: Lisa Long real quick, if you look at her comic
- 39:40Speaker 2: book work, she has literally only done two characters that
- 39:46Speaker 2: they they have only done two characters that are not
- 39:51Speaker 2: people of color. Okay, and that is why I chose
- 39:57Speaker 2: Solander's shoe.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I can see that.
- 40:00Speaker 2: But I love the idea of the trio.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like Alissa would do a
- 40:07Speaker 1: great job with the trio, just because I feel like
- 40:09Speaker 1: with her with their Afro comic, I just felt a
- 40:13Speaker 1: lot of chaos, and I feel like the trio got
- 40:15Speaker 1: up to a lot of chaos.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so I can see that, but as four Young
- 40:21Speaker 2: Jedi Adventures, I got some beef with not only Celebration
- 40:26Speaker 2: but lucasfilm. Okay, they not on the poster. They are
- 40:31Speaker 2: not on the poster. You give me a twenty year
- 40:35Speaker 2: Anniverse animation anniversary. You put everybody. You even put characters
- 40:40Speaker 2: that were on a canceled show. You put characters that
- 40:44Speaker 2: didn't even make it into actual prime time however many
- 40:50Speaker 2: minute episodes you were going to make that show. They
- 40:52Speaker 2: made it onto the poster, But you didn't put any
- 40:55Speaker 2: of my amazing Young Jedi Adventure characters on that poster.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Shame on you, Shame on you, shame I love that cartoon.
- 41:07Speaker 2: I have also not sat down to watch second season
- 41:12Speaker 2: or the rest of the second season Amberlin has been
- 41:15Speaker 2: on a very big Paw Patrol kick right now, so
- 41:20Speaker 2: like I suggest anything other than Paul Patrol and She's
- 41:23Speaker 2: just like no, no, no no, And so I'm kind
- 41:28Speaker 2: of waiting until we can get back into it. But yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 2: I was.
- 41:33Speaker 1: To calm mar.
- 41:36Speaker 2: But uh but yeah, that that really kind of like.
- 41:40Speaker 2: I immediately started looking for those characters after because I was like, oh,
- 41:43Speaker 2: it's everybody, And I was like, there's so many different
- 41:46Speaker 2: types of animation. Why don't I not see Young Ji
- 41:49Speaker 2: Adventure characters? Oh? Okay whatever, very sad day.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but do you want to jump into the main
- 41:59Speaker 1: topic of animation panel.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Yes, this was I think literally first night as far
- 42:10Speaker 2: as animation goes. It was the literal first thing that
- 42:14Speaker 2: I saw waking up the next day. Mall the rumors
- 42:22Speaker 2: of the Mall show are true. The trailer has already
- 42:29Speaker 2: been taken down, but it was out there into in
- 42:33Speaker 2: the internet, in the interwebs. Maybe some people have saved it,
- 42:39Speaker 2: maybe not. But this takes place between Clone Wars and Rebels.
- 42:52Speaker 2: This is literally the moment, like these moments that literally
- 42:58Speaker 2: Katie wanted to see. Katie literally said this, if this
- 43:02Speaker 2: show was going to be true, we needed to see
- 43:06Speaker 2: the moment that takes place that gets him so freaking
- 43:09Speaker 2: riled up and crazy to go to this freaking Sith
- 43:13Speaker 2: temple awaiting of course Ezra and our crew and our
- 43:19Speaker 2: Rebel Cruel crew. But I think one of the biggest
- 43:24Speaker 2: things that a lot of people are really gravitating towards
- 43:32Speaker 2: is the fact that.
- 43:36Speaker 1: This read Twilight makes an appearance.
- 43:40Speaker 2: This is quite possibly the introduction to Darth Talent. Now, Katie, you,
- 43:50Speaker 2: being the Star Wars Alliance Legends expert, please tell the
- 43:59Speaker 2: audience where was Darth Talent originally introduced in Star Wars Legends.
- 44:07Speaker 1: So this is where it's super funny, because George Lucas
- 44:13Speaker 1: actually took a liking to Darth Talent when she was
- 44:16Speaker 1: introduced in the Star Wars Legacy comics, which take place
- 44:21Speaker 1: around one hundred and forty ABY. To put that into
- 44:24Speaker 1: perspective for people, Mara and Luke get married in nineteen ABY,
- 44:31Speaker 1: so this is almost one hundred and twenty years later
- 44:35Speaker 1: from their wedding, so several generations of Skywalker's have kind
- 44:39Speaker 1: of come and gone at this point. But the Sith Empire,
- 44:43Speaker 1: which makes an appearance in the Fate of the Jedi
- 44:48Speaker 1: series basically comes in and takes over Coruscand, and so
- 44:53Speaker 1: the Sith Empire kind of reigns anew and Darth Talent
- 44:56Speaker 1: ends up being the leader's hand, literally calling her the
- 45:01Speaker 1: Emperor's hand as Mark Jade was kind of taking place,
- 45:06Speaker 1: and she ends up training Kid Skywalker in the Dark
- 45:11Speaker 1: side of the forest before he fully commits to the
- 45:14Speaker 1: Light side. She's a red twilec, which is a very
- 45:17Speaker 1: rare type of twilec. I believe it's called a Lathan twilec,
- 45:25Speaker 1: but in the Star Wars Legacy run she is heavily
- 45:29Speaker 1: tattooed and very reminiscent of Mall's design. And uh, George
- 45:36Speaker 1: Lucas actually wanted in his sequel trilogy that he envisioned
- 45:40Speaker 1: he wanted to kind of bring Darth Talent and Maul
- 45:44Speaker 1: together as kind of the master and apprentice. That it
- 45:48Speaker 1: looks like they're going to be in this, and so
- 45:53Speaker 1: Sam Wenter even made an appearance. He's of course returning
- 45:56Speaker 1: as the voice of Mal in the series, and he
- 46:00Speaker 1: teased that they are reusing ideas from George Lucas's canceled
- 46:03Speaker 1: sequel trilogy in this. Obviously it would be a change
- 46:08Speaker 1: because we don't know a Twilex lifespan. But to introduce
- 46:13Speaker 1: talent in this early does change her legacy from Star
- 46:19Speaker 1: Wars Legends. But is it a big deal?
- 46:24Speaker 2: No, it's not. And this is exactly what I wanted
- 46:27Speaker 2: when it came to Legends going into Star Wars Proper.
- 46:34Speaker 2: There is such a large span of legends. Granted, would
- 46:43Speaker 2: I want to go through those in Star Wars Proper? Yes,
- 46:48Speaker 2: so we can get out of the small pocket of
- 46:50Speaker 2: Star Wars. I totally get that. But if you want
- 46:55Speaker 2: to stay in the sandbox, the only way you can
- 46:58Speaker 2: make it interesting is to throw these characters in there.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Now again, it always comes down to the same argument, Well,
- 47:08Speaker 2: we've never seen this character before and we started in
- 47:13Speaker 2: the middle of the timeline, you know, so again, you
- 47:18Speaker 2: have this opportunity to write it in such a way.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Darth Maul, he was written in such a way that
- 47:36Speaker 2: he could be brought back in Rebels. Yep, it's very clever.
- 47:41Speaker 2: They made it work. I think they can do the
- 47:43Speaker 2: exact same thing with Darth Town.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it'll really work. I am interested to
- 47:54Speaker 1: see how much goes into building Crimson Dawn in this
- 47:58Speaker 1: series versus training the Twilight Apprentice. It'll it will be
- 48:07Speaker 1: interesting to see the other thing that I forgot because
- 48:10Speaker 1: it's not on here really is. The animation panel did
- 48:14Speaker 1: showcase the first episode of Tales of the Underworld, which
- 48:17Speaker 1: was an Assage Venturess episode, and it does showcase how
- 48:22Speaker 1: she survived from Dark Disciple and taking on that young
- 48:26Speaker 1: apprentice that we see in the trailer and the young
- 48:30Speaker 1: apprentice that she has. Also mentions Quinlan Voss and how
- 48:33Speaker 1: he created the Path. So little tidbits there, but that's
- 48:37Speaker 1: coming out in like three weeks, two weeks, so we'll see,
- 48:44Speaker 1: we will see.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Yep.
- 48:49Speaker 1: So I had high hopes for the manga panel, yes,
- 48:56Speaker 1: and there wasn't really a whole lot there. So there's
- 48:59Speaker 1: adapt of Star Wars Thrown and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.
- 49:04Speaker 1: There were also some pages shown from Path of the Saber,
- 49:09Speaker 1: which is the sequel trilogy manga. It has an English
- 49:13Speaker 1: translation that's coming in December. There was also a reveal
- 49:17Speaker 1: of a Kickstarter for the original a new Hope manga
- 49:23Speaker 1: from he I'm Totally gonna butcher this He's Saw Tamaki,
- 49:29Speaker 1: which includes a special edition with an English translation as
- 49:32Speaker 1: well as a large format Masterpiece Edition. So dark Horse
- 49:36Speaker 1: is holding those kickstarters, so you can go check those
- 49:39Speaker 1: out if you're interested. But it looks like besides the
- 49:43Speaker 1: New Hope manga, there's not gonna be any English translations
- 49:47Speaker 1: besides the Path of the Lightsaber. So I'm kind of
- 49:50Speaker 1: disappointed because I was really excited for the Fallen Order
- 49:54Speaker 1: one in particular because obviously we have figured out I'm
- 49:58Speaker 1: not a big video game person, so to get Fallen
- 50:01Speaker 1: Order kind of written out for my shelf would have
- 50:03Speaker 1: been super nice.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm looking at the kickstarter now, this is
- 50:08Speaker 2: actually the art of Star Wars a New Hope, so
- 50:15Speaker 2: it could be the fact that, like, yes, you're going
- 50:19Speaker 2: to get the actual story as well as storyboards, concept
- 50:26Speaker 2: and things like that, so it is going to possibly
- 50:28Speaker 2: be legitimately worth it other than you know, just getting
- 50:33Speaker 2: a small little book. Now, I will say with this,
- 50:40Speaker 2: I'm a big manga person. I loved the art that
- 50:47Speaker 2: was showcased for these three the Throng Jedi Fallen Order,
- 50:56Speaker 2: and they also showed another one Path of blod Table,
- 51:00Speaker 2: Path of Lightsaber. Yeah, I think they I think it's
- 51:05Speaker 2: gonna be great. Now, am I going to possibly get
- 51:10Speaker 2: these with no possible English translation, probably not.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the only one I see us getting would be
- 51:21Speaker 1: Path of Lightsaber because that one's coming out in English.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Was there anything else in the manga or
- 51:35Speaker 2: comic publishing? No? Okay, so, uh you want to open
- 51:41Speaker 2: us up with the.
- 51:42Speaker 1: And Or Yes, So there was a lot more than
- 51:45Speaker 1: what I have written down for and Or, Guys. I
- 51:48Speaker 1: just found these were like the big highlight points, and
- 51:51Speaker 1: especially with the first three episodes coming out this week, Guys,
- 51:54Speaker 1: we have two days left. I didn't want to include
- 51:56Speaker 1: a ton of spoilers and interpretation things, so uh, Genevieve
- 52:04Speaker 1: O'Reilly revealed that the season opens on Chindrilla as Lida's
- 52:08Speaker 1: wedding ballooms. So a lot of people have assumed that
- 52:12Speaker 1: with some of the footage that we've gotten the big
- 52:14Speaker 1: dance party, that we are going to Leda's wedding. The
- 52:20Speaker 1: other thing that I found interesting is that they are
- 52:22Speaker 1: going to be exploring the relationships between Bix and Cassian,
- 52:26Speaker 1: and also Didra and Cyril kind of exploring the dynamics
- 52:32Speaker 1: between those two couples.
- 52:38Speaker 2: I am still un well thinking that Deirdre and uh
- 52:46Speaker 2: Cereal are a couple like you know. I think that's
- 52:50Speaker 2: just a very awkward, uh and quite possibly very toxic relationship.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Very toxic.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Yes, so I I it's gonna be very odd. I
- 53:05Speaker 2: do want to say I love the story of oh who.
- 53:12Speaker 3: What's the actress's name who plays Bix, I can't remember
- 53:18Speaker 3: her name, Rhonah.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Yes, yes, her story about what she kept from the
- 53:29Speaker 2: from the show. Did you see that story?
- 53:32Speaker 1: So?
- 53:33Speaker 2: Uh, she got permission to keep it. But she has
- 53:38Speaker 2: her like knee high boots from the show, and how
- 53:44Speaker 2: like she still doesn't know what to do with them,
- 53:46Speaker 2: whether she should like frame them or wear them all
- 53:51Speaker 2: the time, or like have them like showcased somewhere. So
- 53:58Speaker 2: I just love how excited she was about keeping her boots.
- 54:01Speaker 2: She looks great in those boots, by the way, she does.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Did you see Diego Lunas with his blaster?
- 54:08Speaker 2: No, I didn't see that.
- 54:09Speaker 1: So he took his blaster home from set and got
- 54:13Speaker 1: caught with it in the airport and had to explain
- 54:16Speaker 1: that it was a prop gun.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Oh No, terrifying. That terrifying.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Yeah. The last thing that I found interesting for season two.
- 54:29Speaker 1: For and Or season two included one hundred and forty
- 54:33Speaker 1: sets across seven stages, two backlots, twenty four locations. The
- 54:38Speaker 1: show also had seven hundred costumes, one hundred and fifty
- 54:42Speaker 1: six creatures, thirty droids, and forty one hundred visual effect shots.
- 54:49Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Better than the volume.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Yes, yes, better than the volume.
- 55:00Speaker 1: But I hope it was worth it, and it seems
- 55:02Speaker 1: by the social embargo lifting that it was worth it. Yeah,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but just had to say that.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Yeah, really excited about and or that is literally what
- 55:19Speaker 2: two days I was gonna say, three days from now,
- 55:21Speaker 2: two days from now, So very very excited for sure.
- 55:26Speaker 2: Next up would be Ahsoka. We have confirmation that Ahsoka
- 55:35Speaker 2: is filming this week, literally the day that we are recording,
- 55:42Speaker 2: they have started filming.
- 55:44Speaker 1: Yep.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Not only that, but the thing that they did not
- 55:50Speaker 2: necessarily confirm on the panel but has seemingly been confirmed
- 55:54Speaker 2: on Disney Plus is that this is also coming out
- 55:58Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six. The banner wild Yeah, the banner
- 56:05Speaker 2: on Disney Plus right now says Ahsoka Season two coming
- 56:10Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, and this should be.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Our final ad break. So y'all, thanks for bearing with us.
- 56:17Speaker 1: We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back. You think about it.
- 56:20Speaker 1: They're gonna spend three to four months in production, and
- 56:23Speaker 1: we thought they had been in production for three weeks
- 56:26Speaker 1: at this point, and they were gonna come with a
- 56:28Speaker 1: teaser trailer like they did last time. So you're talking
- 56:32Speaker 1: they're ending in August, and there's eight episodes that was
- 56:36Speaker 1: confirmed by Collider and they've all been written by Feloni.
- 56:41Speaker 1: But like, so I guess you could still make it
- 56:45Speaker 1: into like Winter Era twenty twenty six, but like typically
- 56:50Speaker 1: it's four months of production, a yeu of post production.
- 56:56Speaker 2: So we got a Soca this time last year?
- 57:02Speaker 1: No, no, no, in August twenty twenty two.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, August of twenty twenty two.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Or is it twenty twenty three, twenty three, twenty three?
- 57:12Speaker 2: It was twenty three, because I'm pretty sure it was
- 57:15Speaker 2: the same year that I moved here in Indiana. Yeah,
- 57:20Speaker 2: just a couple months after or a couple months before
- 57:23Speaker 2: I actually moved. So I'm excited for this. I hope
- 57:29Speaker 2: they don't super rush this to the point where like
- 57:32Speaker 2: it just like just looks horrible for this just for
- 57:35Speaker 2: the sake of having it out in twenty twenty six.
- 57:40Speaker 2: But there seems to have been a lot of conversation
- 57:46Speaker 2: one being that there has been confirmed by the man
- 57:51Speaker 2: himself Anakin will be making an appearance again. Yeah, and
- 57:57Speaker 2: the reason why I really loved Dave actually gave this explanation.
- 58:03Speaker 2: And I'm curious to hear what you think about this,
- 58:07Speaker 2: But Dave was saying that he can use Anakin in
- 58:15Speaker 2: such a way that he has because it literally does
- 58:19Speaker 2: nothing to the legacy of the character in the capacity
- 58:24Speaker 2: that he uses him in. Because he said that him
- 58:28Speaker 2: and George have talked so much with you know, doing
- 58:33Speaker 2: what they do or doing what they did in Clone Wars,
- 58:37Speaker 2: that he knows Anakin's store, Anakin's story, you know, all
- 58:44Speaker 2: the way through to Clone Wars, all the way through
- 58:47Speaker 2: Clone Wars to get to revenge the Syth, and then
- 58:51Speaker 2: we see him as Darth Vader in Rebels was still
- 58:55Speaker 2: a Dave Filoni project. And then again Dave Filoni is
- 58:58Speaker 2: getting to play around with that sandbox in Ahsoka. But
- 59:05Speaker 2: at this point in Ahsoka, Darth Vader and Anakin's story
- 59:11Speaker 2: are done. There's nothing else that you can do other
- 59:17Speaker 2: than play with those flashbacks, play with those emotions. And
- 59:23Speaker 2: he already said, like the main story that he is
- 59:26Speaker 2: getting to is Ahsoka, and you can't really have Ahsoka
- 59:31Speaker 2: story without having Anakin story in there as well, and
- 59:34Speaker 2: that's why he's using that character. How do you feel
- 59:38Speaker 2: about that?
- 59:38Speaker 1: I don't necessarily like that you can't have Ahsoka without
- 59:42Speaker 1: Anakin to him.
- 59:44Speaker 2: I feel like he probably didn't mean it like that,
- 59:49Speaker 2: but in the sense of, like, hey, we were introduced
- 59:54Speaker 2: to Ahsoka with the characters that we know and love
- 59:58Speaker 2: in the prequel saga, so we're still gonna play in
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: that sandbox to help develop the ending of her story
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: quote unquote, and and that's not a quote for him,
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: that's that's me saying that. So other than other than that,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: how do you how do you feel about the explanation
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: that he gives.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I don't I don't mind it. I do disagree that
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: because Star Wars has chosen to have Force ghosts in
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: this and with the Force Ghosts in Star Wars Legends,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: those ghosts kept learning and they were there to help
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: teach other people. Yes, but the ghosts kept learning, and
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Obi Wan learned so much from watching Luke and watching
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: over him and interacting with Luke. I don't feel like
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: you can say Anakin's story is over when that character
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: technically still exists. He just doesn't have a body anymore.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I don't necessarily disagree with flashbacks, but like clearly with
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: the way Ahsoka season one ended, there was a force ghost,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: so they want to use force ghost Anakin in some way,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: shape or form. Yeah, So to me, you can't say
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: anakin story is over, so I can't ruin his legacy.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: That is true. I didn't really think about it in
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: that way. But for the fact that, yeah, like I
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: didn't even think about the fact that these characters, they
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: aren't just got stuck in a certain time lote like
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: a certain time frame. They they they live, they breathe,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: they they learn, they develop, you know, relationships, like we
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: also got that even with Yoda and.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: In Yoda and Luke Qui gone like yeah, so, I
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: mean these force ghosts still hang around and technically, like
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you could say, oh, well, they have to exist within
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: the force so they have to let go of everything.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: We all know that's not how that works.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: We definitely know that's not how that works.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: So especially for the case of the very ending of
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: a SOCA, like for the fact that Anakin is there
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: with a smile on his face, like he isn't just
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: a shell of an individual like that is Anakin.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: They're not just their knowledge their lifespan, like a holochron is.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: If you wanted to do it that way, then you
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: would just make it a holochron and kind of go, Okay,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you're learning from Anakin this whole way. But as a
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: force goes, their personality is still there and that's really important.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: And I think Dave forgets that a lot of times.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: M yeah, the other thing, and this isn't really news.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Let's be real. This is just the cuteness factor. And
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Dave even says it himself. Loath kittens. And because we're
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: not live guys, I'm not popping a picture up. But
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: they are basically cute little balls and their legs are
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: too short and they don't have enough strength to walk around,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: so instead they roll. This sounds adorable.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: This is literally something that you would have seen if
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: if loaf cats were a thing in George Lucas's Star Wars.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I feel like this would be a perfect perfect use
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: for like animatronic and puppets, like you think of like
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: things from like The Dark Crystal and The Never Ending Story,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: and like the type of special like the special effects
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: that they use for that, Like I can even immediately
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: think of how that would would work in eighty Star
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Wars and I love it.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I love it too, and Florie said, I have to
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: pay for the show somehow. I'm not disagreeing with you.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I think this is an adorable concept.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Mm hmm yeah.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Filoni also said that Zeb will be in season two
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: of ah Soka because he wasn't in season one and
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: that was a huge mistake, and the Ghost Crew will
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: have a more prominent role in season two, particularly, I'm
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: assuming in the fight between Acbar and Thron.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: I so so. Travis said, wow, that's a hell of
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: a sentence, and there was the announcement of Admiral Acbar
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: and Thron will go head to head in Aska season two.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: That is a hell of a deadline for sure. I
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: love that we are genuinely getting rebels season five in
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Ahsoka season two. This is this like the fact that
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: we're going to get Zeb and the Ghost Crew along together.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Dave even said that Hara is gonna have a more
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: prominent role in season two. I love this, I know.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: I like I'm gonna say it here so that way,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: by some miracle, I'm proven wrong. I can come back
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: and say, hey, you were wrong, Clayton, you were wrong.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I'm telling the audience and you can't see me because
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: it's not live, and I'm gonna I'm talking straight into
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: the camera. We are not getting Breda Prince Junior in
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Ahsoka season two playing Canaan. It's not gonna happen. We're
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: not gonna get flashbacks. It sucks, I know, but I
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: know that there will be a moment where they either
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: reminisce or they talk like there's gonna be raw emotion.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Especially with Jason, Like you can't tell me they're not
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: going to reminisce and zeb's not gonna go Oh, that's
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: exactly what your father used to do.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: Oh. Also just want to also point out Jason was
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: not in the twentieth anniversary animation as well. You could
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: have had the whole family together for the first time perfectly,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: and they chose not to do it. Yeah, that's messed
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: up anyway. Yeah, I love that the Ghost crew is
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: going to be in season two. Uh, trying to think
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: of there's anything else that they had also.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Seen the big quote that I have here Rory mccannon.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: Oh, yes, it's just h yeah, you read the quote,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: so of course this is uh he is taking over
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Bayalen Skull taking over not I was.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: I was going to say, uh, recast, but of course
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: it's not a recast. He's taken the He's taking over
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: the role. Writing season two was particularly big, a big
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: challenge for me because of the loss of Ray. He
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: was the most beautiful person on set and off, and
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: it was a challenge for me to even consider a
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: way to move forward. Bayalen is meant to be the
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: parallel to Ahsoka in every way, a different journey for
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: a Jedi who has been lost. That parallel must continue.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: This also brings me up to his quote of saying
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: that the Mortise gods are still going to play a
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: big role in the next season. They have to, was
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: what he said. I still like this, and also I'm
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: also going to say this, I think it's very convenient
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: that the Mall Show started production and is you know,
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: just in the works, you know, for Sam Whitword to
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: be back in the circles of lucasfilm. I'm just going
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: to say that.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say that, Hey, you and I have
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: both put my put fake money on it.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: So yes, I still believe Sam will make an appearance
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: as the brother in AHSOCA season two. I'm saying it now.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: All right, y'all. So the next panel was Zero Company
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: new single turn strategy game, Turn Base, and there wasn't
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: really a whole lot of news. There was an official
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: announcement trailer and you can kind of see footage and
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: not and everything. I forgot to watch the trailer. I
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: don't have a lot to say about it.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Katie, this is not live. I'm literally writing down the time. Now.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Watch the trailer.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Girl.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I said, this could possibly be a game for you.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: Okay, I'm watching it and this should be our final
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: ad break. So y'all, thanks for bearing with us. We
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: appreciate y'all. We'll be right back. Yeah. Based on that
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: minimal gameplay at the end, looks like it could be
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: too many buttons for me.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Okay, well, I will tell you this. I will tell
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: you this. I am writing down the time now. Uh.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: It's an hour, ten minutes and forty five seconds. Now.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: The characters of Zero Company Hawks, the leader of the group,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: who will be fully customizable. This will be the character
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: that you play as. This is your character.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: So is it customizable? Because clearly the narrator I feel
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: like his Hawks in the trailer.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I think he will be customizable to a point. I'm
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: not entirely sure if it'll be. You'll be able to
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: genderbin the character. I think that it would be appropriate
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: for you to be able to do that. I really
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: hope that you're able to do that. But right here
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: it says hawks the leader of the group, who will
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: be fully customizable, luc O, bronc an Umbar, and sharpshooter
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: who hasn't given uh, who hasn't forgiven the republic. The
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: third character Jedi Tellia Tria, trying to avenge her fallen master.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: And the last character is Trick, a clone trooper with
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: a haunted heart.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Forgot the Mandalorian.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: That Mandalorian character is not on this breakdown, so she.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Is a female Mandalorian who is one of the last
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: of her clan. For Mooth, I want.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: To say, oh, okay.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: It is interesting because she has a helmet with a
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: T visor and not a why visor, which has kind
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: of been the standard take for the ginger differentiation with Mandalorians.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Because of Bokatan's helmet, they kind of transitioned all of
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: the female Mandalorians to having that live visor versus the
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: tea visor. So it could be interesting.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: I think that this could be a little bit easier
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: than you think it is. Now, I will say anything
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: with the spin wheel, like you saw at the very
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: end with the gameplay footage, can be a little frustrating
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: if you're not both patient and picked with your choosing
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: of the wheel, because just the way that these controllers
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: are made, you make one small shift with your thumb
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: on that wheel and you could be picking something completely
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: different from what you want.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I ran into that with Lego Harry Potter, But.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I still think this is an interesting type of game.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Like I had said before, tactics is a genre of
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: game that I'm really really into. As I've gotten older,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: I want to say, in the last five to ten years,
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: I've been really enjoying that type of gameplay. It's more of, Hey,
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: I can sit and relax a little bit more than
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: having to move every single thing and touch every single
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: button and freak out over every little thing. So really
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: really going to enjoy this game. The next part is
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: what we have here on the show notes. Lego Star
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Wars Rebuild the Galaxy Pieces of the Past will be
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: out September nineteenth. Now, I will say this, this is
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: something that I did not see out of all of
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: the stuff that came out of celebration, this is something
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: that I did not see. I thought I saw something
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: about Oh my gosh, I forgot her name. Ashley. Yes,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Ashley is voicing Ahsoka again in this is this supposed
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: to be a sequel.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: To Yeah, so this is like season two.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Oh oh, I love it. I love it, and thank
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: god they continued with this, this is gonna be amazing.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: I all right. So Billy Dee was not at celebration
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: and was not talked about at the panel, but he
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: posted this on his story on Instagram, so that makes
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: a lot of people think that he's going to be
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: returning to voice the Landaloorian. But as you said, Ashley
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: x Stein is joining the cast as a brickheads Ahsoka,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: so it's not your traditional Lego character role. But Ben
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Schwartz is also coming to join the cast. He has
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: been in Star Wars a couple of times, but this
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: time he is voicing Jackson, a rabbit looking character who
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: got his basis in Legends and has made his return
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: with Cavin Scott's work, and this will mark Jackson's first
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: appearance on a television screen.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, I love this now that I know that
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: it's it's a sequel to Rebuild the Galaxy or or
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: sorry the original was called.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Oh shit, what was the I think it was just
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Rebuild the Galaxy?
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Okay, okay, Yeah. We had a lot of fun with it.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: We thought it was very very silly, very very fun.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: So I'm glad that we get to go into that
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: world again. The next part of it, in the last
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: bit and the last bit where prediction number two came
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: into Fruition Visions. Volume three release is this October twenty
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: ninth five. Now we get not one, not two, but
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: three sequels from volume one, those being the Duel, The
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Village Bride, and the Ninth Jedi. And I want to
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: go ahead and say not only was I right, but
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Adriane was right and Katie was right. All three of
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: us said. When I said, oh, this has to be
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: this has to get a sequel, Adrian was like, why
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: that one? I would much rather see a Village Bride,
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: And then Katie has said, oh, well yeah, those two
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: would be really good four sequels, but I think the
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: only one, or one of the ones that would make
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: sense would be for the Duel to get a sequel
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: because of the expansion of the novel. We got all
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: three predictions correct. That is awesome. I love that.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I think you're giving me too much credit because I
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: specifically remember saying I think the duel makes sense, but
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: I hope it doesn't because of the novel. I want
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: it to be able to interact with the novel if
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: it does.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Get true true true, Okay, but still we the mention itself.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: I think correct is enough. So we have uh, an
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: animated series spin off of volume well, something that we
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: talked about and it's not what we wanted, but it's
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: damn close enough.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Yes, I think this will make a whole lot of
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: sense if we get like a Vision's volume one year,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: and then the next year we get Star Wars Visions Presents,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: and then we get a long form sequel.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: I would love that, Katie. I think is absolutely.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: A tone of sense because there so there so what
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: we were talking about, guys is Star Wars Visions Presents,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: and it is a new They didn't specifically call it
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: anime series, but I've got anime series on here, because
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: Visions is anime and that's what we've kind of gone with.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: But Star Wars Visions presents and it is going to
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: be where Visions presents a long form limited series based
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: on one of the shorts that has come to play
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: in the first one is the Ninth Jedi. So they
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: didn't say how many episodes it would be, but they
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: did say it's coming in twenty twenty six. So can
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: you just imagine we get twenty twenty five, Vision's Volume
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: three next year, Ninth Jedi Series twenty twenty seven, Vision's
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Volume four, twenty twenty eight. What do we get next?
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Like, I would absolutely love this. For one, you have
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: this moment of that you have these small windows of
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: time and I say when I say we, I mean
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: Locus Film, Lucasfilm has these small windows of time to
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: see what is more lining up with what the audience wants,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: like what is really popping off on social media with
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: these anthologies, and that is where they can be like, Okay,
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: people really love this, Let's make that a series.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because you think Ninth Jedi was kind of like
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the fans like Best Picture out of Visions Volume Village Bride,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: they nominated freaking Oscars for a short film. Yeah, And
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: the duel was probably best perceived by critics because it's
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: the most traditional based anime and was one of their highlights.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: So all three of these make sense for sequels. So
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: what comes next out of those? Like, is that what
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: they're gonna like? They're gonna go Okay, the fans really
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: loved this one, so let's do a series out of
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: this one. And this should be our final ad break.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: So y'all, thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: We'll be right back. I'm excited, very excited for this.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: The rest of what I have on here is the
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: little summaries for each of the new stories. Do we
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: want to go through those or do we want to
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: say this for another time?
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: It's up to you. I think that we have a
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: lot here for an episode. We're at an hour and
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: twenty minutes so far, and honestly, I don't want like,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: I haven't even looked at the vision stuff. I think
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: I like visions more so when I don't have anything
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: like any expectations to go on.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, like you posted the trailer, but I'm like, yeah,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: I saw.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: The trailer just to kind of see the trailer, but
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: I have not looked at what the story plots are
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: for like the very last one, that I see here.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: It's called black Like I saw a freeze frame of
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: what the trailer was before I even saw the trailer,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: and I was like, that's kind of wonky art. Really
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: interested to see how that plays out, And that's kind
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: of really all I want from these is like what
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: I would like to know what the title is as
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: far as the like what it's going to be named,
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: and then the studio that's working with him, And that's right, I.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Don't have the studio, So maybe we save this for
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: next time and we can kind of go through each
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: studio one by wine with the story. But y'all, all
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: of this information is available. A lot of sites published
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: really good panel Synopsio, star Wars Net is one that
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: we really like. Uteny is another one. I've kind of
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: switched to getting all my news from there. But also
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Colleier was there. Maggie love It did incredible job moderating
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: the publishing panel, and then she did some incredible interviews
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: with Dave Filoni, John Favreau, Hayden Christiansen, Diego Luna, and
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Rosario Dawson. So there's a lot of people that you
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: can go to if you're interested in specific panels getting
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: the big details because we kind of just went over
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the highlights basically for these panels. So Clay, why don't
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: you tell us where they can find you?
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: Yeah, of course you can always find me at fanboy
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: Clay on Blue Sky, on Instagram, on threads, and on TikTok.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: I have also just downloaded Blue Sky's version of TikTok.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: I might be getting off TikTok. It really depends on
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: if things are, you know, shutting down whatever. Social media
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: is kind of stupid these days. Who cares he really is?
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: But but of course I've been on this really big
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: book kick and I've been talking a lot about that,
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: so if you would like to follow that journey with me.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: I think this month is literally the month that I
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: have in my whole adult life of reading books. I
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: have read the most books this month I have ever read.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: With it being four books, I still got a week
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: and a half to see how many more I can
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: finish off, and I think I'm going to try to
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: aim for three more books. I'm insane, people, I don't
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: know what I was thinking about it today. I used
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: to be the person for summer reading in school. I
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: wouldn't do it. And then when they tested me on it,
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I would literally make up every single answer, and then
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: when my parents would force me to read over the
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: weekends during the summer, I would literally sit back in
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: a way where I could fake myself sleeping whenever they
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: came in and they'd be like, oh, he was reading
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: so much he fell asleep, where I was just like
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: fucking around. I wasn't reading. Like I am a completely
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: different person than I was twenty years ago. But yeah,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I love it. I love the U and I told Katie,
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: I'm also a little bit of a monster. I just
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: bought seventeen books for twenty bucks yesterday, and I think
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: I'm starting that journey sometime this week. It's insane, all right, y'all.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: You can buy me on you can buy me social
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: media platforms that it's at place, Katie. This show you
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: can find via email. It is a Star Wars alliance
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: at gmail dot com. Remember there's no a in the worst.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: It's very important to forget it. You can also shoot
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: his text or leave us a voicemail. Eight three zero
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: five three eight four eight two eight. Y'all, we had
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: nobody enter the giveaway for Into the Light, so we're
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: gonna have to figure out how to give that away
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: because apparently people just don't want books.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, honestly, what I can do is, well,
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: you know what, No, no, I'm not I'm not gonna
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: buy all three books. Again. I was gonna say I
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: could do a uh the end of the Higher Republic
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: package for when Trials comes out, I can, I can
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: do all three, But no, I'm not even gonna do that.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: We will figure something out. But guys, Into the Light
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: was such a great book, genuinely, uh, it's and it
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: it literally feels like the start of the end of
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: the road. So if you guys want it, all you
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: gotta do is message us, text us, email us. It
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: doesn't even have to be on the hotline. You can
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: find us on the social media apps that we are
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: on and give us your opinions on anything and everything
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: within the last week and a half.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Since maybe it looks like it's gonna be first first
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: one or first come, first serve, so why not, you know,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: But y'all, I think again, eight pm Eastern is a
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: little bit off from our typical time, but I'm going
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: to be doing some traveling, so I need the flexibility
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: and everything. So yeah, we will see you guys Saturday
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: nights on the geek First YouTube channel at eight pm
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Eastern centertime this Saturday, April twenty six. With that, guys,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: I want to wish everyone a great day or night,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: whatever time to day you are listening, and we will
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: see y'all next time. May the Force be with you.
