- 0:20Speaker 1: Okay, well, welcome, bless this Messaventry Crump podcast, I don't
- 0:23Speaker 1: care who was to says too, Hey, we are back
- 0:25Speaker 1: this weekend. We are going to Louisiana.
- 0:28Speaker 2: We just got back from Louisiana.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We did. And the reason we're doing this case because
- 0:31Speaker 1: we crossed the bridge where this person was thrown over.
- 0:35Speaker 2: So and we drove by the bar.
- 0:37Speaker 1: We did, but it's closed.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It is closed.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yes, I looked up and said permanent closed. There was
- 0:42Speaker 1: some dramas on the Facebook about elect electric bills and
- 0:47Speaker 1: people blaming each other boat posting it on the Facebook status.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So the bar had a Facebook post page still and
- 0:55Speaker 2: people were arguing on it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: No back when it closed back in twenty night team.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Maybe they were like, he's a liar. I sent him
- 1:05Speaker 1: the money for the electric bill. That's not why this
- 1:07Speaker 1: bark stuff like.
- 1:10Speaker 2: That, somebody's doing drugs, somebody's skimming the tail drinking their
- 1:13Speaker 2: own profits that I don't know, probably.
- 1:15Speaker 1: At this bar, yes, but that's not what they were saying.
- 1:17Speaker 1: They were just there was just a lot of public drama.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And then the Facebook page is still up so we
- 1:23Speaker 1: can read some of the posts later on it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Just Fanger pointing but no specifics.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Some about an electric bill.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh call comes down and then those things are high
- 1:32Speaker 2: these days.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes. Anyway, so since we drove through this town, we
- 1:38Speaker 1: decided to do this case because we drove on the bridge.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I did record the bridge. Uh so, because we're morbid
- 1:47Speaker 1: like that. Yes, mainly for you guys though, so you're welcome.
- 1:52Speaker 2: There's a lot of people not from the area that
- 1:54Speaker 2: would be like it's like.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, they can see the bridge. So we are go
- 2:00Speaker 1: into Louisiana for all of our patreons, Thank you very much.
- 2:04Speaker 1: We have been off on the shoot the poos because
- 2:06Speaker 1: we were out of town. We did put one out.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I thought I released it before we left. I did not,
- 2:12Speaker 1: so it was very late and then we missed the
- 2:15Speaker 1: week that we were we went to record something on
- 2:17Speaker 1: our phones, but you know we did. We did remember
- 2:22Speaker 1: we were going to say we were going to try
- 2:23Speaker 1: to record something. It might be bad audio, yes, and
- 2:26Speaker 1: then we never did. So we're back. So we will
- 2:29Speaker 1: record one this week about our vacation and I think
- 2:31Speaker 1: we're going to talk about, uh the apartment six oh three,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the one with the girl that got that was a suicide,
- 2:40Speaker 1: with the twenty stab.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Ones and then it was not class suicide.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a suicide, then it wasn't, then it was,
- 2:48Speaker 1: then it wasn't, then it was in limbo, and now
- 2:50Speaker 1: it's back.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Again and it's a suicide.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yes, so anyway, so we might chitchat about that one anyways,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and then iTunes or app where we get your podcast.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Apple mainly Rate Review, Subscribe five stars only, and then Instagram, Facebook, TikTok.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I do almost daily recommendations on what to watch true
- 3:15Speaker 1: crime wise, so you can go check those out. We're
- 3:18Speaker 1: almost a ten.
- 3:19Speaker 2: K on TikTok, so slacker.
- 3:22Speaker 1: We have been slacking because it's so funny. You like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I was on a roll and I was really like
- 3:28Speaker 1: gaining it each week. I was gaining about a thousand
- 3:30Speaker 1: followers on TikTok or whatever, and I was really heading
- 3:33Speaker 1: towards that ten k, and something happens and you just
- 3:37Speaker 1: like lose all my fation. So I've been off and
- 3:39Speaker 1: on the last couple of weeks, but I'm back on it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm going to put another recommendation out today, so go
- 3:45Speaker 1: check that out. I do post them on Facebook and Instagram,
- 3:47Speaker 1: but Facebook and Instagram they don't.
- 3:50Speaker 2: That'll show you no.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Love no, like TikTok pushes it out to people it
- 3:54Speaker 1: thinks that will like it. I don't know who. You
- 3:56Speaker 1: gotta know or blow at Instagram, Facebook, New Blue to
- 4:00Speaker 1: get your stuff pushed out. But it's they don't like me,
- 4:03Speaker 1: so I don't have the right in the technique. I
- 4:06Speaker 1: guess it. Stop stop anyways, Uh wow, too much already
- 4:17Speaker 1: said too I said too much already, So anyways, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: then buy us a coffee. We appreciate everybody there, and
- 4:25Speaker 1: then I think that is it if you are if
- 4:28Speaker 1: just so. For the Patreon thing though, if you're confused,
- 4:31Speaker 1: we do a thing called shoot the poos. So instead
- 4:33Speaker 1: of us chit chatting about like our vacation on this
- 4:36Speaker 1: because not everybody wants to hear that, we do it
- 4:39Speaker 1: over on Patreon once a week. We just kin't. We
- 4:42Speaker 1: usually pick some sort of documentary to kind of talk
- 4:44Speaker 1: about true crime wise, so you still get a little
- 4:46Speaker 1: bit of that, but sometimes it's just a lot of gibberish, yes,
- 4:50Speaker 1: a lot of nonsense, like just nonsense anyways, and then
- 4:56Speaker 1: you also get the episodes twenty four hours early and
- 4:59Speaker 1: they're ad free. If you would like to join, we
- 5:01Speaker 1: would appreciate you all. Right, I think that is it?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Are you sure?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yes? Because we're not going to talk about the vacation or
- 5:11Speaker 1: anything like that except for that we did drive across
- 5:14Speaker 1: this bridge where this woman was thrown over. It all right,
- 5:18Speaker 1: let's go ahead and get into our case out of Louisy,
- 5:23Speaker 1: Anna stew Yes, that's what they call that state. As
- 5:27Speaker 1: I pull up my phone so I can.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Remember that we were talking about it, you forgot what
- 5:33Speaker 2: state we were going to.
- 5:34Speaker 1: No, I was saying it's low so I could get
- 5:37Speaker 1: my phone pulled out. So you're supposed to cover for me.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I thought I got my phone and opened it. No,
- 5:43Speaker 1: I was trying to get my phone and open it
- 5:45Speaker 1: to the case so I could keep going. And you're
- 5:47Speaker 1: supposed to cover, but you didn't. And now I've just
- 5:48Speaker 1: had to explain this to everybody.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to Krotch Springs, Louisiana.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I'm about to say that it's.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Not Crotch Springs. It's crotch.
- 5:57Speaker 1: It's a terrible name of the town.
- 5:58Speaker 2: What was named after C. Kritz who was drilling for
- 6:01Speaker 2: oil and he found an artesian well instead. And now
- 6:05Speaker 2: an artesian well is different than groundwater because natural pressure
- 6:08Speaker 2: pushes the water up out of the ground. So people
- 6:11Speaker 2: think it's more healthy for you that way. But they
- 6:15Speaker 2: say that groundwater and artesian water is no different from
- 6:19Speaker 2: each other or chemically purified water.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Well, I think you don't drink enough water anyway, So
- 6:24Speaker 1: it doesn't mean artesianal arch, regional.
- 6:27Speaker 2: New Blue spring, distilled.
- 6:29Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. Just drink it. Not the tap in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the air, though you might it might order the next
- 6:34Speaker 1: Flint Michigan for sure.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll clog up your kidneys for sure.
- 6:38Speaker 1: All right. So on July eighteenth, two thousand and nine,
- 6:41Speaker 1: now we have the history of Crotz Springs, Louisiana.
- 6:43Speaker 2: That what was not of You want more history?
- 6:45Speaker 1: No, Around one am in Crotz Springs, Louisiana, krt Z,
- 6:51Speaker 1: the Sheriff's department receives a call from a man saying
- 6:53Speaker 1: that he is concerned about his girlfriend. He said she's
- 6:57Speaker 1: been missing for about an hour. He can't find and
- 7:00Speaker 1: he's worried something has happened again. She's only been missing
- 7:03Speaker 1: an hour. This is a grown woman. This is a
- 7:06Speaker 1: grown woman. So he says his name is John Snyder,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and so they recognize him on the phone call because
- 7:13Speaker 1: he is pretty well known in the town. Again, this
- 7:16Speaker 1: is very small town. This is a small town for
- 7:18Speaker 1: even Louisiana, which is I mean their biggest I understand,
- 7:23Speaker 1: like in Texas if you're from that, If from Texas,
- 7:26Speaker 1: a small town could be like I grew up in
- 7:28Speaker 1: a small town of thirty five to forty thousand people
- 7:32Speaker 1: in Louisiana. It's a decent size. Okay, yeah that's not
- 7:38Speaker 1: but that's a small town in Texas. Not that we
- 7:40Speaker 1: don't have small towns. Like Alto was just down the
- 7:43Speaker 1: road and it had like one hundred people. I mean
- 7:44Speaker 1: there were small towns, but I think this town only
- 7:47Speaker 1: had two thousand people. Two hundred people.
- 7:52Speaker 2: No, I don't know what that counted.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But it's a small town. So they knew John Snyder
- 7:56Speaker 1: because his aunt was actually the chief of police. So
- 8:00Speaker 1: they ask, huh.
- 8:03Speaker 2: All three of them? Yeah, all three of the cops.
- 8:06Speaker 2: She was the chief of them.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it was probably only three. So they ask what, uh,
- 8:11Speaker 1: his girlfriend's name is, and he says Davina Chapman. He
- 8:15Speaker 1: tells him that they are at They were at Kelly's
- 8:17Speaker 1: Tavern in cross Spring, which is the one that is
- 8:19Speaker 1: closed now that has the dramas on the Facebook, and uh,
- 8:25Speaker 1: they said they'll send somebody over to talk to him
- 8:27Speaker 1: or whatever. Now you have to know that Kelly's tavern,
- 8:31Speaker 1: they kind of go into it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: It is to dive bard dive bar. It's my kind
- 8:37Speaker 2: of place.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yes, it's Stu's kind of place. It is not my
- 8:40Speaker 1: kind of place.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So why you like the clubs?
- 8:45Speaker 1: No, I don't want any of that. I don't know.
- 8:47Speaker 1: My type of place is home, my house. Yes. Anyways,
- 8:52Speaker 1: it's a it's a true dive bar, like it's gonna
- 8:55Speaker 1: you're gonna get some seed folk in there, yes, and
- 8:58Speaker 1: maybe some seed and the restaurants anyways, not anymore. He's
- 9:06Speaker 1: got too many children to be yes, doing that nonsense.
- 9:10Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So the deputy arrives at the scene and begins asking
- 9:13Speaker 1: about the last time that John saw Divina, and he's
- 9:16Speaker 1: and if there's any reason why she would just up
- 9:19Speaker 1: and leave like this. He's insisted that she would never
- 9:23Speaker 1: leave on her own accord like that and just walk
- 9:25Speaker 1: off and with nobody, and he knows that there's got
- 9:28Speaker 1: to be something wrong wrong. So John he walks the
- 9:31Speaker 1: police officers through the evening. He said that they were
- 9:35Speaker 1: in town for this boat race, due this big boat race,
- 9:38Speaker 1: which a big deal. Anyways, they arrived around eight o'clock
- 9:42Speaker 1: at Kelly's Tavern to meet up with some family and friends.
- 9:45Speaker 1: John says Divina began drinking heavily immediately upon arriving at
- 9:49Speaker 1: the bar.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Shot shot shots.
- 9:52Speaker 1: A party girl.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Sometimes it's not about the journey, it's just about getting there.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yes, So she was ready to it is already eight o'clock.
- 9:58Speaker 1: She's like, I should have already been gaming, like I should.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I got to catch up with everybody.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Been there, Divin. I've been there myself.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So he's trying to. He says that he tries to
- 10:07Speaker 1: slow her down a little bit, but that's just not
- 10:09Speaker 1: her personality. She's gonna she likes to drink and party
- 10:12Speaker 1: and everything like that. She's at the Kelly's Tavern and
- 10:16Speaker 1: cross Spring. She's back home.
- 10:17Speaker 2: You know, she's what everyone she knows, everybody knows her.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Everybody knows everybody in that bar. Now. She was also
- 10:25Speaker 1: known to get quite a temper whenever she was drinking.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So you're gonna add she wasn't the best drunk. Stuart,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I do not get are you kidding me? I have
- 10:37Speaker 1: what are you talking about?
- 10:38Speaker 2: See it is no, No, this is just me normal.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I do not get angry when I'm drunk. I think
- 10:44Speaker 1: I'm a pretty fun drunk person. No, I just get tired. Usually,
- 10:49Speaker 1: I'm just like good bed. Anyways, John tells the officer
- 10:54Speaker 1: that he decided that it was time for them to
- 10:56Speaker 1: go around ten or ten thirty, So do only here
- 10:58Speaker 1: like two two and a half hours. And he's like,
- 10:59Speaker 1: this is not a good Divina is out of control. Yes,
- 11:04Speaker 1: so he said a friend of Divina shows up around
- 11:07Speaker 1: that time. And this friend of hers his name was Jason.
- 11:14Speaker 1: They were a bit flirty and and everything, and this
- 11:18Speaker 1: was causing some issues between Divina and John, who are
- 11:22Speaker 1: boyfriend and.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Girlfriend as one would think so.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Anyway, so this interaction happens. John said he did get
- 11:29Speaker 1: upset about it and everything that, but she this is
- 11:32Speaker 1: what made him want to leave. He's like, I want
- 11:35Speaker 1: to go. This guy's here, you're flirting with him. We
- 11:37Speaker 1: need to get out here.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Wasn't he an X as well, Well, we're.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Going to talk about it too, Yes, Stuart, we're going
- 11:43Speaker 1: to talk about it.
- 11:43Speaker 2: No, they were like lovers.
- 11:46Speaker 1: They weren't on again, off again situation. So there might
- 11:50Speaker 1: have been some cheating involved, so Divina did not agree
- 11:53Speaker 1: with leaving, and they got into an argument in the
- 11:55Speaker 1: parking lot, and John says that he left for about
- 11:57Speaker 1: a half an hour to cool off, and when he
- 11:59Speaker 1: came back, that's when he noticed that she was gone.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So he looks around for and everything that that's when
- 12:05Speaker 1: he calls police around one am. The officer spoke to
- 12:08Speaker 1: a few other people in the bar, and nobody remember
- 12:10Speaker 1: seeing Divina or the other guy, Jason after John left,
- 12:13Speaker 1: So nobody's seen Divina and nobody saw Jason. So John
- 12:18Speaker 1: is thinking.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That Devina ran off with Jason.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yes, Or Jason has taken kidnapped her.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yes, he has taken her.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Does John have a certain set of skills?
- 12:28Speaker 1: No, John has no skills whatsoever.
- 12:31Speaker 2: The officer began looking around the bar to see if
- 12:33Speaker 2: they could find any signs of Divina or what happened
- 12:37Speaker 2: to her where she may have gone. A friend of hers,
- 12:41Speaker 2: while doing a search conducting the search outside the bar,
- 12:44Speaker 2: did find one of her shoes was left behind, indicating
- 12:49Speaker 2: that she probably wouldn't be able to get too far
- 12:52Speaker 2: with only one shoe. Not out there in the swamp,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you wouldn't want to be walking around one shoe. Meanwhile, yes,
- 12:59Speaker 2: and this is a rural area.
- 13:01Speaker 1: This is not a there's probably not a real side.
- 13:05Speaker 1: They do not have sidewalks.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I saw them there by the Billies, Cracklings and Budan.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Okay, well that Billy's put them in himself, because that's
- 13:12Speaker 1: a nice establishments. Back then, in two thousand and nine
- 13:15Speaker 1: and cross Spring, they had no real sidewalks. I guarandamn
- 13:18Speaker 1: tee it. They had that one of them gravelly rocky
- 13:22Speaker 1: roads out there that you would have to walk on
- 13:24Speaker 1: or you'd have to walk on the highway.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't remember because I didn't frequent krit Springs too
- 13:30Speaker 2: much back in two thousand and nine, but started in
- 13:32Speaker 2: twenty fifteen. I drove through it quite a bit.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Okay, but I'm just telling you that it would be
- 13:36Speaker 1: rough to walk around with no shoes. It'd be rough
- 13:39Speaker 1: to walk a distance because she was wearing flip flops.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It'd be rough to walk any distance even with both
- 13:44Speaker 1: shoes in the like the cheap flip flops.
- 13:47Speaker 2: How do you know they're cheap?
- 13:48Speaker 1: There were those thin flip flops. It wasn't a leather
- 13:50Speaker 1: sole or anything.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Saying that Divanda got them at a dollar storm.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Maybe I don't know.
- 13:54Speaker 2: At the Walmart anyway. Meanwhile, John and his cousin are
- 13:59Speaker 2: dry having around looking for Divina, so they call her mom.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Devina's mom hadn't heard from r either.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Divina's mom does not live in Tount either. Divina's mom
- 14:08Speaker 1: lives northern Louisiana.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I believe, yeah, somewhere, Okay, it doesn't.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Matter the city. Still, they didn't say it's northern Louisiana.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Well, she doesn't live in the Crat Springs.
- 14:18Speaker 1: No, so it's not like no, they don't either, that's
- 14:22Speaker 1: where they're from though, yes, okay.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Anyway, Divina's mother is like John Divina. They get in
- 14:29Speaker 2: little spats all the time. They go cool off whatever.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Divina usually turns up at work on Monday because she
- 14:36Speaker 2: always calls her boss if she's not going to be
- 14:38Speaker 2: at work.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and she would check in or actually they said
- 14:43Speaker 1: she would just show up. She's one of these people
- 14:45Speaker 1: that she would show up.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yeah, she'll go off the grid and then she'll just
- 14:48Speaker 2: be at work on Monday. And if for some reason
- 14:50Speaker 2: she's not going to be at work, she always calls
- 14:52Speaker 2: her boss. So Mama is not concerned. She said, if
- 14:55Speaker 2: she doesn't show up for work on Monday or doesn't
- 14:57Speaker 2: call in, then I'll be concerned. However, John was putting
- 15:01Speaker 2: together a search party because he was certain that something
- 15:04Speaker 2: had happened to Divina, and since his aunt was the
- 15:07Speaker 2: chief of police, she sent a detective to start asking
- 15:10Speaker 2: questions and start the investigation.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, no, it wasn't an official investigations too. They called
- 15:16Speaker 1: in a favor because again, she she's only she's a
- 15:19Speaker 1: grown she was thirty two years old. She's only been
- 15:21Speaker 1: missing for an hour or at this point maybe two
- 15:24Speaker 1: or three. Yeah, and she's been drinking heavily. You can't
- 15:28Speaker 1: there's a good chance she just ran off with someone.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They don't know where Jason is or anything that they
- 15:33Speaker 1: just have. This is John in charge of this because
- 15:36Speaker 1: he has connections, calling his aunt and his aunt being like, hey,
- 15:39Speaker 1: I'll send a detective in to ask questions, but it
- 15:42Speaker 1: won't be like an official investigation until we determined she's
- 15:46Speaker 1: actually truly missing. So the detect what do you have
- 15:51Speaker 1: to say.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I'm just in awe of your beauty, honey.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Okay. The detective begins speaking to the bar and he
- 16:00Speaker 1: tells them that it was a very busy night that
- 16:02Speaker 1: night at the tavern due to that boat race in town.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I kind of know what this boat race is, well.
- 16:07Speaker 1: The town was. I can't remember what the town was.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I might have mentioned what the name of the what
- 16:14Speaker 1: did it's I feel like it started with an E.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I don't remember. Anyways, it's uh, it's it's a it's
- 16:21Speaker 1: a boat race. Do I thought I wrote down the
- 16:24Speaker 1: town and what the actual boat race was, but I
- 16:26Speaker 1: guess I didn't. So anyways, so he's like, hey, it's
- 16:30Speaker 1: very busy in here. There's this this big fest or
- 16:34Speaker 1: this big boat race in town, and so on top
- 16:36Speaker 1: of all the regulars, there was a lot of tourists
- 16:37Speaker 1: in town as well, as he said, a bunch of
- 16:39Speaker 1: pipeline workers due to the area that they were. There
- 16:43Speaker 1: was a refinery or something nearby, and there's just a
- 16:47Speaker 1: lot of pipeline workers such.
- 16:48Speaker 2: A repairs, new pipelines, something going on.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Now. Pipeline workers can be coming from or they do
- 16:55Speaker 1: come from all over the country. It's not just some
- 16:57Speaker 1: locals being like, you got to have skill sets to
- 16:59Speaker 1: be you gotta be a welder to be a pipeline worker.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And so anyway, so they're coming from all over place.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So this is a different set of people. It's transient workers,
- 17:11Speaker 1: which we are familiar with out here. We live in
- 17:13Speaker 1: West Texas.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You're a transient worker, We're no.
- 17:17Speaker 1: That's not what a transient Transiit means coming in and
- 17:19Speaker 1: out of town all the time. Used to be okay,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I used to be a transient worker. We're not transient worker.
- 17:27Speaker 1: We live here now. But there's a lot of truck drivers,
- 17:30Speaker 1: a lot of people like that, just coming and working
- 17:32Speaker 1: for a week or two at a time and then leaving.
- 17:34Speaker 1: So you've got a lot of people coming and going,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and you don't know really who these people are because
- 17:40Speaker 1: let me tell you what they don't. It's very difficult
- 17:44Speaker 1: to find a whole group of people to work that
- 17:46Speaker 1: don't have a criminal history to do that type of work.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I'll just tell you that in my experience.
- 17:51Speaker 2: You're saying they hadn't been fully betted. Possibly, Well, no
- 17:54Speaker 2: they can't. We're not going to worry about such. If
- 17:56Speaker 2: you got some of these crimes on your thing, we're
- 17:58Speaker 2: not going out with someone.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Well they don't. No, they don't even run the background
- 18:01Speaker 1: checks after you take down to a certain level you
- 18:03Speaker 1: don't like. So there's a hierarchy, and once you get
- 18:06Speaker 1: below a certain level in terms of workers, they don't
- 18:10Speaker 1: even run them because they're probably gonna have a criminal history,
- 18:13Speaker 1: and you can't be worried about that, because otherwise you
- 18:15Speaker 1: won't have anybody to do any.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Of the work. Now, they're more concerned if you've got
- 18:17Speaker 2: a traffic violation because you can't drive a company.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Track or that that, or if you've done something in
- 18:24Speaker 1: terms of monetary.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Oh, some type of equipment of cash or of like
- 18:32Speaker 3: at these places, like fuel like oil and stuff like
- 18:35Speaker 3: that that they steal, you got to worry.
- 18:38Speaker 1: About, all right. So we've got the tourists in town,
- 18:42Speaker 1: we've got the pipeline workers, and they're all convening at
- 18:44Speaker 1: this bar because they're with the locals, with the locals,
- 18:47Speaker 1: because there's no other game in town. He did say
- 18:51Speaker 1: that Divina was drinking a lot, so this would make
- 18:55Speaker 1: her an easier target. The bartender said she was slamming
- 18:57Speaker 1: them back, you know. Now, the bartender had mentioned that
- 19:00Speaker 1: Divina did have an on again, off again relationship with
- 19:04Speaker 1: that mal friend Jason Thibodeaux that was flirting with her.
- 19:08Speaker 1: That caused a fight between her and John. So detectives
- 19:11Speaker 1: are looking at this person who might be someone that
- 19:16Speaker 1: did something to Divina or she left with or whatever.
- 19:20Speaker 2: At this point, Yeah, so they don't know if she left,
- 19:23Speaker 2: she was taking what the hell happened to poor Divina.
- 19:26Speaker 1: The only thing, the only reason they're looking into this
- 19:28Speaker 1: right now is because John is certain something bad happened
- 19:31Speaker 1: to her.
- 19:31Speaker 2: He is not letting this go in related. Yes, Otherwise,
- 19:34Speaker 2: if he wouldn't have.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Been related, they wouldn't even be looking at this right
- 19:37Speaker 1: now at all.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Meanwhile, John is continuing the search, and he has basically
- 19:43Speaker 2: put himself in charge of directing all these volunteers. He's
- 19:46Speaker 2: basically gathered, sending them, giving him areas to look for,
- 19:52Speaker 2: sending him through the swamps down the rivers. Now, crot
- 19:56Speaker 2: Spring is very I would say, rural, Carol, would you.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Know, Yes, the road, I think said earlier.
- 20:02Speaker 2: The base of the road, there's basically a levee there,
- 20:05Speaker 2: and then you got a swamp on one side, woods
- 20:07Speaker 2: and crap on the other side.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So yeah, it seems like when we drove through it,
- 20:11Speaker 1: it basically the highway goes through and then crosses that
- 20:15Speaker 1: bridge that we're gonna talk about in a little bit.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And then there's some businesses on either side.
- 20:20Speaker 2: There's a bridge right there in Crott Springs that goes
- 20:22Speaker 2: over the river, and then you get to the four
- 20:24Speaker 2: mile bridge after that going over the basin.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Okay, well, anyways, when we drove it seemed like it
- 20:29Speaker 1: was one of those towns where there's some there's a
- 20:31Speaker 1: highway running through the middle of it, there's some businesses
- 20:33Speaker 1: on either side of the town. I don't know what's
- 20:35Speaker 1: going on deeper into the town. I don't know if
- 20:36Speaker 1: there's much, but it is very there's a bunch of
- 20:39Speaker 1: pretty much the town. Okay. So yeah, so it's one
- 20:41Speaker 1: of those like just drive by towns.
- 20:43Speaker 2: There's not even that's where all the public buildings are.
- 20:46Speaker 2: There's some houses and private residences down in the in
- 20:50Speaker 2: the swamps.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Now, if you've ever been Louisiana in this area areas.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Or just a no, you don't have to be in Louisiana,
- 20:59Speaker 1: just imagine a swamp Louisiana.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Like Florida anywhere, or Shrek, you know, or Shrek. Now,
- 21:08Speaker 2: I don't see them alligators.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I know they don't have much water for a swamp.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I think that they're a little misrepresentation of a yes,
- 21:16Speaker 1: of a swamp, because Shrek was not. I didn't see
- 21:19Speaker 1: in a bunch of water or nothing.
- 21:20Speaker 2: He was kind of down in a hollow instead of it.
- 21:22Speaker 1: He just looked like he was in a forested area. Anyways,
- 21:28Speaker 1: moving on from.
- 21:28Speaker 2: That, Yeah, so you got gators, you got snakes, you
- 21:31Speaker 2: got all sorts of creepy Crawley's kill the neutral rats.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Bugs, bugs, the mosquitos. The side of it's a July too, Yes,
- 21:40Speaker 1: this is July.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Humidity's out. Every damn bug and creature in South Louisiana
- 21:45Speaker 2: is out.
- 21:45Speaker 1: They are at their peak at right now. They have bread,
- 21:48Speaker 1: this is in their climate.
- 21:50Speaker 2: It's great. Hmm. Well, the detective begins talking to John,
- 21:56Speaker 2: trying to so.
- 21:56Speaker 1: The point of that is it's hinder. It does hinder.
- 21:59Speaker 1: The search party takes longer to search. But they got
- 22:02Speaker 1: some some Louisiana.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Boys down there, got their boats, air boats, definitely got
- 22:09Speaker 2: their their swamp boats out there out there looking for
- 22:13Speaker 2: Divina out there in the swamps. Detectives start talking to John,
- 22:17Speaker 2: talking to him. They're trying to get a better understanding
- 22:20Speaker 2: of what Divina's movements were the night that she went missing.
- 22:23Speaker 2: John tells the detectives about the evening, how he became
- 22:26Speaker 2: upset with Divina and that he decided to leave and
- 22:29Speaker 2: go for a drive. He tells him again that the
- 22:32Speaker 2: friend of hers was a problem, and he is a
- 22:36Speaker 2: certain that old Jason had something to do with Divina's disappearance.
- 22:41Speaker 2: The detective tries to get some better understanding of Divina
- 22:44Speaker 2: and John's relationship. Family and friends tell the detective that
- 22:49Speaker 2: Divina met John and they had been dating for about
- 22:52Speaker 2: four years. They know it no longer lived in Crost Springs, however,
- 22:56Speaker 2: and they live just outside of Baton Rouge. John was
- 23:00Speaker 2: working at a factory and Divina was working as a receptionist.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Divina was known to be a bit of a wild Childcara.
- 23:08Speaker 2: She loved a party, and every party she went to
- 23:10Speaker 2: they say she was the life of it.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so she was, because she was the life of
- 23:16Speaker 1: the party. She was very popular in town, made friends easily.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Everybody knew her, so it was easy to get people
- 23:23Speaker 1: to go.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Search for Yeah, because everybody seemed to like.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Everybody's afraid of John and his aunt.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I guess, I guess now. In the relationship, John was
- 23:32Speaker 2: the more steady of the two, while Divina was known
- 23:35Speaker 2: as kind of the wild and crazy one.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yes, and then her mother did speak on the relationship
- 23:42Speaker 1: and she said that John was very protective of Divina
- 23:45Speaker 1: and he really did love her a lot.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Like they were now, that he would do just about
- 23:50Speaker 2: anything to plays her or make her happy and all
- 23:52Speaker 2: that other stuff.
- 23:52Speaker 1: So they had no reason to think he would ever
- 23:55Speaker 1: harm her anything. So that's why they're really focusing on
- 23:58Speaker 1: on this, Jason felt. Now, Monday, July twentieth, investigators called
- 24:03Speaker 1: Divena's place of work and ask if she has shown
- 24:06Speaker 1: up there, because at this point, John is putting together
- 24:10Speaker 1: all the search parties and the aunt has a detective
- 24:12Speaker 1: looking into it. But like I said, there's no larger
- 24:15Speaker 1: official missing person's search going on. This is all like
- 24:19Speaker 1: an inside job. So Divina's family even at this point,
- 24:24Speaker 1: was still not concerned unless they find out she did
- 24:27Speaker 1: not show up for work because like I said, she
- 24:29Speaker 1: is known to be a very hard worker and she
- 24:31Speaker 1: would not miss a shift. So detective calls up and
- 24:34Speaker 1: speak to speaks to Divina's boss and he says, hey, yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 1: she's in right now. So they're like okay, So he's like, yeah,
- 24:40Speaker 1: let me go check check in on or whatever, she's here,
- 24:42Speaker 1: because that's how certain he was that she would show
- 24:45Speaker 1: up for work. And he's like, gets back on the phone.
- 24:47Speaker 1: He's like, wait a minute, she's not here. This is
- 24:50Speaker 1: kind of crazy. So, now that Divina has failed to
- 24:52Speaker 1: show up for work and she's been missing for over
- 24:54Speaker 1: twenty four hours, they speak to the family and this
- 24:57Speaker 1: has now the mom's concerned everything, and this has turned
- 25:01Speaker 1: into a full blown investigation. Now. During this time, John
- 25:05Speaker 1: and his mother they go on to speak to reporters,
- 25:08Speaker 1: begging for anyone to come forward with any information on
- 25:11Speaker 1: where Divina might be. He's crying, he's upset, he's been
- 25:16Speaker 1: up for hours organizing these search parties trying to find
- 25:20Speaker 1: his girlfriend.
- 25:22Speaker 2: The detective tracks down the male friend of the Vina's.
- 25:25Speaker 2: This is the one, mister Jason Tibbadoo. He was the
- 25:29Speaker 2: one that John insisted had something to do with her disappearance.
- 25:33Speaker 2: While speaking to detective, Jason denies any involvement and says
- 25:37Speaker 2: that he only interacted with Divina for a short period
- 25:40Speaker 2: of time that night and that was all there was
- 25:44Speaker 2: to it. However, he doesn't see he doesn't have an alibi,
- 25:47Speaker 2: and he didn't really seem that concerned about what happened
- 25:50Speaker 2: to Divina. The detective finds him very suspicious, but since
- 25:54Speaker 2: he has nothing to hold him on, they sent him
- 25:56Speaker 2: about his way.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Jason's kind of like the smokes a lot of
- 26:02Speaker 1: weird parties, so he's not the most reliable, so he
- 26:05Speaker 1: probably doesn't have an alibi. At the middle of the night,
- 26:09Speaker 1: at like one o'clock.
- 26:10Speaker 2: In the morning, I was playing poker with Tigger and Pooh,
- 26:14Speaker 2: smoking a blunt.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Okay, oddly specific.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Well, you know, you know what happens.
- 26:20Speaker 1: No, I don't know what.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Meanwhile, by Tuesday, Devina had been missing for over three days. John,
- 26:26Speaker 2: who is still pretty much leading this search, decides that
- 26:30Speaker 2: they need to expand their search to include a place
- 26:33Speaker 2: called the four Mile Bridge. This is an area outside
- 26:37Speaker 2: of crot Springs.
- 26:37Speaker 1: That's what stew was talking about, the area where you
- 26:40Speaker 1: drive through Crost Springs. And then I guess we went
- 26:41Speaker 1: over a.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Bridge, We went over a river, got out of crass.
- 26:47Speaker 1: You keep making this motion like it like we're going
- 26:50Speaker 1: out at Galveston.
- 26:51Speaker 2: We went up over that one bridge, a big tall bridge. Yes,
- 26:55Speaker 2: were you not in the car with me?
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yes? I was in the car with you.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I don't even know how. You don't remember that bridge?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Was it the one with the yellow.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yellow stripes on it? I don't know, no lines in
- 27:05Speaker 2: the middle.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Was it a huge bridge?
- 27:07Speaker 2: That was it higher over the river? Yes, leaving Croft
- 27:12Speaker 2: Springs that went ran through the woods to Saint Francis
- 27:16Speaker 2: phil We go.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Okay anyway, So this is this is extending quite a
- 27:22Speaker 1: bit outside of the actual town of Crott Springs where
- 27:25Speaker 1: they had been searching. This is now apparently have to
- 27:29Speaker 1: go over a bridge, four mile bridge.
- 27:32Speaker 2: If you've ever been on the I ten bridge crossing
- 27:34Speaker 2: over the basin, you know it's just a bunch of
- 27:37Speaker 2: swamp out there.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yes, that's the similar to four mile bridge.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yes, because everything crot Springs, all those towns are on
- 27:44Speaker 2: one niney, which is north of I ten. It runs
- 27:47Speaker 2: parallel to I ten, so you're crossing the same swamp
- 27:51Speaker 2: at a different place up north.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Yes. So if you've ever been on that Basin bridge,
- 27:56Speaker 1: which some of you might have been, it is literally
- 27:59Speaker 1: you can get stuck on that bridge if there's any
- 28:02Speaker 1: type of accent. There's no way to get off. You're
- 28:04Speaker 1: just stuck. You're in literally over the swamp.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Yes, for hours, I was stuck on that bridge for
- 28:10Speaker 2: six hours once.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how many miles it is, but
- 28:12Speaker 1: you can get stuck on that bridge because there's nowhere
- 28:15Speaker 1: to go. This is similar, except for it's only four
- 28:17Speaker 1: miles apparently because it's called four mile Bridge.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Yes, all right, Yes, so it's difficult. It's a difficult
- 28:26Speaker 2: area to search. A friend of John's by the name
- 28:28Speaker 2: of Philip Edwards was searching along the four mile Bridge
- 28:32Speaker 2: along US Highway one ninety. Now they're down below. They're
- 28:36Speaker 2: not on top of the bridge. They're searching down below
- 28:40Speaker 2: in the swamp. They're in the swamp, they're not on
- 28:41Speaker 2: the bridge looking over the rail, and they find to
- 28:46Speaker 2: be in his body. It was found on private property
- 28:48Speaker 2: and it was not in a place where anyone would
- 28:50Speaker 2: be going on a regular basis. And it's a very
- 28:52Speaker 2: isolated area due to the temperatures and the environment of
- 28:57Speaker 2: the area.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's July again, it's hot, it's humid, it's swampy.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It's terrible even in October.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yes, even Yeah, I'm not ever going to another pumpkin
- 29:10Speaker 1: patch unless it's sixty five degrees outside or lower or lower. Yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 1: I'm no, I've I've I've got to move out of
- 29:17Speaker 1: the south. It's too hot here. Anyways, we were just
- 29:21Speaker 1: in the middle of so her body is bloated and
- 29:22Speaker 1: already decomposing. So why do we always do I feel
- 29:25Speaker 1: like it's because it's uncomfortable. Maybe we start trying to
- 29:27Speaker 1: say something.
- 29:28Speaker 2: About the environment. Why it's why it's.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Like we always whenever we're talking about when finding the bodies,
- 29:34Speaker 1: we always seem to sidetrack, sidetrack. Maybe it's because we're uncomfortable,
- 29:40Speaker 1: you know, so before you guys judge es.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Or do maybe we're not uncomfortable.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Maybe we're just terrible people. It's possibility, yes, okay, anyway, so.
- 29:51Speaker 2: We do get a lot of comments of that nature.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Yes, So they in all seriousness, they where John told
- 29:58Speaker 1: them to go search this friend of his, goes in
- 30:00Speaker 1: search and they find her decomposing body. They're in shock
- 30:04Speaker 1: to like, can this even this? There's no way this
- 30:06Speaker 1: is Divina, Like this is the last place that they
- 30:08Speaker 1: would have even imagined she would end up. And so
- 30:12Speaker 1: they find it and then it turns out to be her.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they didn't think it was her when they originally
- 30:16Speaker 2: found her because her body was so decomposed. They're like,
- 30:19Speaker 2: this can't be her.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Well, it's not decomposed, more like it was like bloated.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It just looked very Yeah she.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Was anyways, So now that they have discovered Divina's body,
- 30:31Speaker 1: this missing person investigation house now turned into a homicide
- 30:34Speaker 1: investigation now due to the location of the body. Whenever
- 30:38Speaker 1: this turned into this homicide investigation, it actually transferred to
- 30:42Speaker 1: the next parish over because her body was found just
- 30:45Speaker 1: beyond the parish lines outside of Saint Landry Parish and
- 30:48Speaker 1: it was in Point Coupey. I don't know, that's how
- 30:54Speaker 1: they pronounced it.
- 30:55Speaker 2: That's how they that's how the French pronounced it.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Okay, well that's not how they pronounced it on the
- 30:58Speaker 1: TV show.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Announce it the way it's people say, in the way
- 31:02Speaker 2: it's spelled here le point coop point point coopy.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Point coopee p o I n t cou Pe. And
- 31:09Speaker 1: remember these are parishes, not counties, because it's Louisiana, so
- 31:14Speaker 1: they would need uh. So, now this new detective is
- 31:17Speaker 1: taken over. He will work with the other one though
- 31:19Speaker 1: you'll see now they would need an autopsy to determine
- 31:22Speaker 1: the cause of death. During that autopsy, they found that
- 31:24Speaker 1: she had lacerations to her liver and spleen. Those injuries
- 31:29Speaker 1: caused an accumulation of blood in Divina's abdominal cavity in
- 31:32Speaker 1: this ultimately proved fatal. Now, in addition to the injuries
- 31:37Speaker 1: to her spleen and liver, she also had broken bones
- 31:40Speaker 1: on the side of her face. This indicate that she
- 31:42Speaker 1: had been punched or struck on the side of the
- 31:45Speaker 1: head with something prior to falling or jumping off the bridge. Now,
- 31:50Speaker 1: also during the autopsy and looking at the crime scene,
- 31:53Speaker 1: they did determine that this is the really disturbing part
- 31:56Speaker 1: of it, Divina was still alive when she was thrown
- 31:59Speaker 1: off the bridge, fell off the bridge, or jumped off
- 32:01Speaker 1: the bridge, because again they still don't know. With her
- 32:03Speaker 1: being punched on the side of the face, it's indicating
- 32:06Speaker 1: that there was foul play involved. That appeared that she
- 32:09Speaker 1: was trying to crawl out of the area because they
- 32:11Speaker 1: could see the dirt underneath her fingernails and like the
- 32:14Speaker 1: marks and this. So she's trying to crawl the area
- 32:18Speaker 1: to try to get help, and she slowly dies from
- 32:20Speaker 1: her injuries because it's just she's got that spleen laceration.
- 32:24Speaker 1: They estimated that she was alive for about six hours
- 32:27Speaker 1: trying to get out. So this is like horrific way
- 32:30Speaker 1: to pass away.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't even know how far she crawled. They
- 32:34Speaker 2: didn't really say how far she had crawled. They just
- 32:36Speaker 2: said that they knew that she had crawled from. Yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 2: they knew there was one point to another.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and her trying to get her trying to get out.
- 32:43Speaker 2: The new detective speaks to the detective from Saint Landry Parish.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I just wrote new detective, because I couldn't. I knew
- 32:50Speaker 1: I wouldn't build a paul. Yeah, I knew I wan
- 32:53Speaker 1: to pronounce it. So I even say atchafalayah wrong or whatever,
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yes you did. How do you say it a check
- 33:00Speaker 1: a chaffelon whatever.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Yeah, the guy on the show said it wrong to him, Yeah,
- 33:04Speaker 2: he numerous times. Anyway. The new detective from Ponkope is
- 33:12Speaker 2: investigating the missing person case, trying to go over the
- 33:15Speaker 2: possible suspects. He told him that everybody had an alibi
- 33:19Speaker 2: except for Jason and the boyfriend John. The Poncope detective
- 33:25Speaker 2: starts asking around about John again because he's the last
- 33:29Speaker 2: one that saw Devina alive. That they're aware of. They
- 33:32Speaker 2: find out from the person who found Deviina that John
- 33:35Speaker 2: was the one that told them to go look there.
- 33:38Speaker 2: But they also said that John told him to look
- 33:40Speaker 2: in a lot of places and that just happened to
- 33:43Speaker 2: be the last place that he had sent him to.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Ye, so the guy, the friends of his were like,
- 33:50Speaker 1: he's in. He told us to go everywhere like this
- 33:53Speaker 1: is just one fifty one, one of fifty places. He said, Hey,
- 33:56Speaker 1: go search in this area, go search in this area,
- 33:58Speaker 1: and this is where she happened to be. Nobody. None
- 34:00Speaker 1: of the friends found it suspicious that he was the
- 34:02Speaker 1: one that told him. The detective, however, did find it suspicious.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yes, because finding that this suspicious, the detective brings John
- 34:10Speaker 2: in for even more.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Questioning, which he should have been questioned more to begin with.
- 34:14Speaker 1: He got a pass because of his relations to the
- 34:19Speaker 1: Sheriff's tomorrow.
- 34:19Speaker 2: But I han't related to nobody over on the other parents.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Nobody gives a fuck over there.
- 34:23Speaker 2: No, they don't. So this new detective starts poking holes
- 34:27Speaker 2: in John's story. As they're doing this, John loses his temperance,
- 34:33Speaker 2: says I tried to stop her, she jumped off and
- 34:36Speaker 2: they're like, wait a minute, you need to start this
- 34:39Speaker 2: all over again from the beginning. Tell us the story.
- 34:43Speaker 1: This was no more times us at all. You said
- 34:45Speaker 1: that got up. You guys got in a fight and
- 34:47Speaker 1: you left to cool off. And then that was the
- 34:49Speaker 1: last time he saw her and she Jason.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Tibetu and now she did what now?
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, So John begins walking through his story. He tells
- 34:57Speaker 1: the detectives that him and Divina had to fight at
- 34:59Speaker 1: the bar and she got into the car with him.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Now he's thinking that they're gonna calm down as they
- 35:04Speaker 1: drive around, talk it out or and everything. You can't. Also,
- 35:08Speaker 1: she was really drunk and he was drinking. You that's
- 35:11Speaker 1: a recipe for disaster. Just I watched all those people
- 35:14Speaker 1: on Love is Blind and they I was watching that
- 35:16Speaker 1: season of Love is Blind and that girl that so
- 35:19Speaker 1: they so if you've never seen Love is Blind, they
- 35:21Speaker 1: chat and they can't see each other and they have
- 35:23Speaker 1: to get engaged to meet each other.
- 35:24Speaker 2: M hm.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And so this one couple there, they put him in
- 35:29Speaker 1: situations where they're gonna drink.
- 35:31Speaker 2: So the show does don't see what happens.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's available to him. They cannot drink if
- 35:36Speaker 1: they don't want to. So the one, the girl and
- 35:38Speaker 1: the guy, this is a new couple. They just now
- 35:40Speaker 1: met each other. I mean they've been talking to each
- 35:42Speaker 1: other for like ten days over this pod, but they
- 35:44Speaker 1: met in person in Baja Mexico. So they're at this resort.
- 35:48Speaker 1: They're having a good time. Well then they have the
- 35:49Speaker 1: party where they everybody's drinking. The guy drinks a whole
- 35:53Speaker 1: bunch and he decides he's gonna go back to the room,
- 35:57Speaker 1: and then she goes back and they get into it
- 35:59Speaker 1: and she's still like just talking him. It's like, you
- 36:01Speaker 1: just gotta when someone's that drunk, you just gotta walk away, Okay,
- 36:04Speaker 1: Like nothing positive is gonna come out of this.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I just think you're gonna have a come to Jesus
- 36:08Speaker 2: moment and relationship and everything all. And then she was
- 36:11Speaker 2: clouds will part and the sun will shine that.
- 36:13Speaker 1: And then of course he's drunk, so he's just trying
- 36:15Speaker 1: to pass out in the bed. And then she's not
- 36:17Speaker 1: saying he wasn't in the wrong, but it's just you're
- 36:20Speaker 1: not gonna get any sense out of it. And then
- 36:21Speaker 1: she's crying in the room, and then she's like he's
- 36:23Speaker 1: not coming to. I mean, been there, done that, sister.
- 36:25Speaker 1: It don't work. Okay, all right, So but there new
- 36:29Speaker 1: they were a brand new couples. So they need to learn.
- 36:33Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I think John and Avina should have learned a long
- 36:35Speaker 2: time ago. You don't argue when you're drunk. Well, there,
- 36:37Speaker 2: they've been together four years. Sounds like they did a
- 36:40Speaker 2: lot of art their best arguing when they were drinking.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Yes, so he so he's thinking they're gonna calm She's
- 36:47Speaker 1: gonna calm down. However, he says, she just keeps getting
- 36:49Speaker 1: more wild. Now while they're on the forem Old Bridge,
- 36:52Speaker 1: he claims that she opened her door and like got
- 36:54Speaker 1: out while the truck was moving. She stumbles towards the
- 36:57Speaker 1: edge of the bridge and she ends up falling off. Now,
- 37:00Speaker 1: he indicated that she fell off while she was in
- 37:02Speaker 1: the pro He says that she was in the process
- 37:05Speaker 1: of trying to jump. He was pulling her off. That's
- 37:07Speaker 1: why he said she fell off the bridge, because he
- 37:10Speaker 1: was trying to stop her from jumping, but she was
- 37:13Speaker 1: trying to fling herself off. There. He says he didn't
- 37:17Speaker 1: know what to do. He thought she would be dead,
- 37:19Speaker 1: and so he was afraid he was going to get
- 37:21Speaker 1: in trouble, so he just left her there, he said.
- 37:23Speaker 1: He drove around for a little bit longer, trying to
- 37:25Speaker 1: come up with his story, like what am I gonna do?
- 37:26Speaker 1: What am I gonna tell anybody? And this is when
- 37:30Speaker 1: he heads back to the bar. It's like, Okay, I'm
- 37:33Speaker 1: gonna call. I'm gonna be the concerned boyfriend. So John
- 37:36Speaker 1: is sticking to his stories. So detectives do take him
- 37:39Speaker 1: in because they don't have they can't get him to
- 37:42Speaker 1: admit that he did something wrong, but they do have
- 37:45Speaker 1: enough that he was at the crime scene, he knew
- 37:48Speaker 1: that she fell slash jumped off the bridge, and he
- 37:52Speaker 1: didn't help her. He left her there. And now at
- 37:54Speaker 1: this point they know she was alive for six hours afterward,
- 37:57Speaker 1: so they can at least arrest him from not rendering aid.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I was unaware that was a crime.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Yes, So you can't let someone.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Just you can't just watch him drown.
- 38:07Speaker 1: No, you can't just like walk have see someone jump
- 38:11Speaker 1: off a bridge or whatever, not call anybody.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Can't watch them just get mugged and laugh at him
- 38:15Speaker 2: and film it like Seinfeld in the lane and you
- 38:19Speaker 2: don't remember. That's how that's how the series ended. They
- 38:22Speaker 2: went to jail because they watched the guy getting mugged.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Oh is that what happened? Yeah, so you can't do that.
- 38:28Speaker 1: So he's in so they're our able to at least
- 38:31Speaker 1: arrest him for that reason, to buy him some more
- 38:34Speaker 1: time to look into this.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah, they can keep him where they know he's at
- 38:39Speaker 2: while they investigate further, and then they can go in
- 38:41Speaker 2: there and just question him because they already got him.
- 38:43Speaker 2: While they have John in custody, they obtain a search
- 38:46Speaker 2: warrant to check out his vehicle. On his vehicle the
- 38:51Speaker 2: night that Deviana went missing, he did have a broken
- 38:54Speaker 2: windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle. His friend
- 38:59Speaker 2: said that John had punched the glass. However, when looking
- 39:03Speaker 2: at the forensic evidence around the broken windshield that found
- 39:06Speaker 2: the beans blood, indicating he possibly smashed her head into
- 39:11Speaker 2: the side the passenger side of the windshield, which cracked
- 39:15Speaker 2: her windshild, which has got to be pretty hard. But
- 39:18Speaker 2: then again, you got to remember that in her autop
- 39:21Speaker 2: her orbital socket was fractured on the side of her face,
- 39:26Speaker 2: so he probably did smash her face in his windshield
- 39:30Speaker 2: and broke her when well, they.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Think that he too. Well we'll get into it, but
- 39:34Speaker 1: they think he punched her first to kind of knock
- 39:37Speaker 1: her off, and then she tried to run. That's when
- 39:39Speaker 1: he slammed her back into the windshield. So that may
- 39:42Speaker 1: not initially broke that, but it did cause all the
- 39:45Speaker 1: blood in the damage. But that is a hard smash
- 39:48Speaker 1: into a windshield.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, because I mean, if you try and punch your windshield,
- 39:51Speaker 2: it's not gonna crack that easily.
- 39:53Speaker 1: So they could have looked at his hand to see
- 39:54Speaker 1: that he didn't have I don't know if he did
- 39:57Speaker 1: punch her in the face, though he might have.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Had some some bruising.
- 40:00Speaker 1: He seemed like the kind that would always be in
- 40:02Speaker 1: a fight anyway, so it would have been like, oh, yeah, John's.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Hands are always fucked up. Yeah, I fight went old
- 40:06Speaker 2: t Bow and Tobodeau. Now, in addition to the broken
- 40:10Speaker 2: windshield with the blood of Divina, there was a bloody
- 40:13Speaker 2: handprint on the vehicle. It was Devina's blood, however, it
- 40:18Speaker 2: was John's handprint, so they got her blood on his
- 40:23Speaker 2: palm print, his pomp print in her blood.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so obviously there's.
- 40:27Speaker 2: So now please have enough to arrest John for Divina's murder.
- 40:32Speaker 2: You would think that all this stuff going on, he
- 40:33Speaker 2: would have washed his truck at some point. I don't.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I think he had just so much. Uh, he just
- 40:38Speaker 1: thought I'm going to get away with this because my
- 40:40Speaker 1: mom's the chief, you.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Know, my aunt y, Yeah.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Or his aunt's a chief or whatever. Now, during John's trial,
- 40:47Speaker 1: prosecutors painted a picture of John callously leaving Divina to
- 40:50Speaker 1: die under the bridge. They believed that they got into
- 40:53Speaker 1: an argument in the parking lot about Jason about whatever.
- 40:57Speaker 1: He punched her and then slammed her head into the
- 40:59Speaker 1: window it. He then dragged her into the vehicle, driving
- 41:03Speaker 1: her to the four mile bridge, and then throwing her
- 41:05Speaker 1: over the side. Now, the thirty foot fall from the
- 41:08Speaker 1: bridge is what caused her spleen to rupture and slowly
- 41:11Speaker 1: kill her in the end. Now, it only took the
- 41:14Speaker 1: jury about a couple hours, they said, to find him
- 41:19Speaker 1: guilty of second degree murder, and he was sentenced to
- 41:21Speaker 1: life in prison without the possibility of pearl. What was
- 41:25Speaker 1: crazy about it, though, was you really the way that
- 41:29Speaker 1: the mom talked about John and Divina. She's like, he
- 41:33Speaker 1: just loved her so much, and da da da, I
- 41:35Speaker 1: mean and she is talking about this.
- 41:36Speaker 2: After the fact, after the fact.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Yea, I would not like have a hard time saying
- 41:40Speaker 1: stuff like that, But I guess she was just in
- 41:42Speaker 1: her mind he did love her at the time or
- 41:45Speaker 1: what she thought. Yeah, but there was no they didn't
- 41:48Speaker 1: have any indication of I mean, she probably did think
- 41:52Speaker 1: that because there was no indication of any type of
- 41:56Speaker 1: domestic violence or anything prior to this incident. So, uh,
- 42:00Speaker 1: it looked like this was a singular incident in their
- 42:03Speaker 1: relationship as opposed to just you know, people saying coming
- 42:07Speaker 1: forward and say, you know, she did always have bruises
- 42:09Speaker 1: or something like that. He didn't seem like he was
- 42:11Speaker 1: abusive during the relationship, but then he did went and
- 42:15Speaker 1: did something this terrible to leave her. Because the thing
- 42:20Speaker 1: that they painted in the trial was that how could
- 42:23Speaker 1: he know he knew she was laying there the whole
- 42:25Speaker 1: entire time and just didn't do anything, like for days
- 42:28Speaker 1: he knew she was laying there. Yeah, she's very disturbing,
- 42:31Speaker 1: which he said that he thought she was dead. But
- 42:33Speaker 1: it doesn't matter, like it's just it's just really messed
- 42:37Speaker 1: up anyway. Stue, do you have a y'all need Jesus Why.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Yes, I do, Kara. Would you like to hear it?
- 42:42Speaker 1: Yes?
- 42:43Speaker 2: Okay, Well let me pull it up. Okay. Coming to
- 42:47Speaker 2: us from w AFB Live in local news Kara from

- 43:14Speaker 2: arrest while facing murder charges and the death of his girlfriend,
- 43:18Speaker 2: is back behind bars. According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's office,
- 43:24Speaker 2: The man, aged thirty six, of Gonzalez, was arrested on
- 43:28Speaker 2: Sunday night and charged with DWI and hit and run.

- 43:35Speaker 2: around nine forty five pm and then he drove off.
- 43:40Speaker 2: He was out on bond from pont Coupee Parrish in
- 43:44Speaker 2: connection with the murder of his girlfriend.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Is this sounding familiar, guys.
- 43:48Speaker 2: According to conditions of the man's release, he was supposed
- 43:53Speaker 2: to be under house arrest and wear an ankle bracelet
- 43:56Speaker 2: to track his whereabouts. He was only allowed to go

- 44:01Speaker 1: He was not allowed to go to the Jambalaya Festival.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Deputies said he had beer tickets from the Jambalaya Festival
- 44:08Speaker 2: and Gonzales on him when he was arrested. Bond has
- 44:12Speaker 2: not been set for the charges related to the hit
- 44:14Speaker 2: and run. John Snyder is being held in the Ascension
- 44:18Speaker 2: Parish jail. Official Zimpunt Coupee Parish have been notified of
- 44:22Speaker 2: Snyder's apparent violation of the terms of his bail there.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yes, did you read the charges he was charged with
- 44:29Speaker 1: DWI It was alcohol in it.
- 44:32Speaker 2: I don't have that one in this article.
- 44:36Speaker 1: A hit and run and something else. Yes, are y'all
- 44:41Speaker 1: need Jesus is the guy? So the guy got it,
- 44:43Speaker 1: the John guy that killed his girlfriend. They let his

- 44:52Speaker 2: Well, the best part is the hit and run. Here's
- 44:57Speaker 2: another news article from the Gonzalez Weekly Man on house
- 45:00Speaker 2: arrest rear ends unmarked Sheriff's department car.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that probably would have been the article I sent
- 45:05Speaker 1: you stew but she said you'd find it yourself.
- 45:08Speaker 2: So wow, Well I found the WAFB one. I didn't
- 45:12Speaker 2: realize that woudn't have all the stuff. I didn't want
- 45:14Speaker 2: you to have to tap dance and cover while I
- 45:16Speaker 2: read three or four different articles to find the one.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I told you i'd send it to you. I had this,
- 45:21Speaker 1: I had looked this up to put into our case.
- 45:23Speaker 1: That about what he did. And we were like, oh,
- 45:25Speaker 1: that's a perfect yelling Jesus that this idiot is out
- 45:28Speaker 1: on bond from killing his girlfriend and gets in a
- 45:31Speaker 1: dw I and rears an unmarked Sheriff's department car.
- 45:35Speaker 2: He was arrested on May thirtythin gonzale Is following a
- 45:38Speaker 2: hit and run accident in which they suspect ran into
- 45:41Speaker 2: an unmarked sheriff's car.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Okay, we already went through the stories. Due it's over.
- 45:47Speaker 2: We didn't say he was in a hit and run.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Do not say that because she didn't read the right article.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I didn't read the right art.
- 45:53Speaker 1: No, you didn't know. Okay, let's start over.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Okay, yes, I probably need to read this article an
- 45:58Speaker 2: accused murder on house arrest Penny trial Karra Florida, enough
- 46:01Speaker 2: Florda was arrested May thirty, think Gonzalez following a hit
- 46:04Speaker 2: and run accident in which the suspect ran into unmarked
- 46:07Speaker 2: sheriff's car again for the fiftieth time, Larry Snyder, Junior,
- 46:11Speaker 2: thirty six of fourteen one one one Caesar Road. Gonzalez
- 46:15Speaker 2: rear into the sheriff's unmarked car on Cornerview Road shortly
- 46:19Speaker 2: after nine thirty pm, then fled the scene. The deputy
- 46:23Speaker 2: who was hit gave a chase, and Snyder pulled into
- 46:27Speaker 2: a parking lot about a half mile away. Snyder was
- 46:29Speaker 2: wearing an ankle bracelet and was out on jail from
- 46:32Speaker 2: Point Compee Perrish at the time. According to court minutes
- 46:35Speaker 2: from poink a Pee, he was released on two hundred
- 46:39Speaker 2: and fifty thousand dollars bond with the condition that he
- 46:41Speaker 2: will be under house arrest where his ankle bracelet. At
- 46:46Speaker 2: the time of his arrest, he was in possession of
- 46:48Speaker 2: beer tickets.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Like we said from the Jumbalai at Gonzalez.
- 46:51Speaker 2: That is one I have never been to. I assume
- 46:54Speaker 2: it is a good one.
- 46:55Speaker 1: There's fifty million festivals in Louisiana.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Yes, there is. They got the Strawberry Festival on Paca too.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I never went to either. I need to go to
- 47:01Speaker 2: that one one day anyway. From officers. Officers of the
- 47:09Speaker 2: Gonzales Police Department the rest of Snyder following the May
- 47:12Speaker 2: thirtieth accident and charged him with hit and run driving,
- 47:16Speaker 2: second DWI, improper laying usage, possession of alcoholic beverages in
- 47:22Speaker 2: a motor vehicle. They haven't set bond for his new.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Hopefully he didn't get out again. I didn't. I couldn't
- 47:31Speaker 1: find a follow up one. But he's in jail now.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Says his lawyer. Must have been like, oh my god.
- 47:37Speaker 1: You idiot. I got you out on you did this
- 47:39Speaker 1: and now you're doing it Like if there's if he's
- 47:42Speaker 1: not gonna if being on bond for murdering your girlfriend
- 47:45Speaker 1: isn't gonna get you right in the world. Ain't nothing
- 47:48Speaker 1: going to get you right you deserve.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Maybe he was going party it up. He's like, but
- 47:51Speaker 2: I'm going to jail for life anyway.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you get someone to drive you then a friend? Anyways?
- 47:58Speaker 2: All right, Well that's how many friends you think he
- 48:00Speaker 2: got left after he got he found his time?
- 48:02Speaker 1: Oh please? The people are people out there.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, well you're talking about my people down there.
- 48:09Speaker 1: But he but he family, He can't be fine, that's John.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Put him to the crawfish boil.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Let's te John.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Come on going out to John's house to do a
- 48:21Speaker 1: crawfish boy can't leave. He got that ankle bracelet on. Anyways,

- 49:00Speaker 1: want I don't really want to pay for pictures. And
- 49:02Speaker 1: we used to just set up a tripod and take
- 49:05Speaker 1: pictures ourselves, but we are now outnumbered and we cannot
- 49:08Speaker 1: get these children, like it's like an act of God
- 49:12Speaker 1: to get these children to look at the camera and
- 49:15Speaker 1: not cry. So this lady, we've done pictures with her
- 49:18Speaker 1: a couple of times. It does suck because it caught
- 49:21Speaker 1: their mini sessions. So it's on like fifteen to twenty minutes,
- 49:23Speaker 1: which that's all you need, was you can't be doing
- 49:25Speaker 1: an hour, Like we can barely get these children to payttention.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Do you remember when you try to get that girl to
- 49:29Speaker 2: do it in Europe and it was a complete night.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Oh that was a nightmare. And then she didn't even
- 49:32Speaker 1: get any of our whole family together. Right. We did
- 49:34Speaker 1: them at the Christmas Market, and I feel like.
- 49:36Speaker 2: We were on a cruise or something. Hold in the hands.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Yeah, she did a bunch. Yes, we went and we
- 49:40Speaker 1: paid for someone to do pictures at the Christmas market.
- 49:44Speaker 1: She did a bunch of Like I guess she was
- 49:46Speaker 1: more used to doing couples or something. I didn't realize
- 49:48Speaker 1: she had taken it.
- 49:49Speaker 2: She must have been a cruise line photographer at some point.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Ye. She kept having me and Stu like hold hands
- 49:53Speaker 1: and like look at each other and stuff of that,
- 49:54Speaker 1: and we're just like, we just wanted you to take
- 49:56Speaker 1: pictures of our children and some like family phoes. We
- 49:58Speaker 1: do not want these weird like poses like cruise ship poses.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Yeah, always which cruise ship poser like prom pictures.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Yes, they we're starting to look a little promised or graduation.
- 50:08Speaker 1: So we have no And then most of them I
- 50:11Speaker 1: had like my red coat on and everything that, and
- 50:13Speaker 1: most of them I had that pacifier hanging out in
- 50:15Speaker 1: the pocket. She never said anything, and she didn't edit
- 50:20Speaker 1: it out or anything like that. So I'm at the
- 50:22Speaker 1: I don't know. I never even posted any of thee
- 50:24Speaker 1: or anything because I was so upset about the photos.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I was like, do you have any more of us
- 50:28Speaker 1: as a family. She's like, oh, no, those are the
- 50:31Speaker 1: only ones I had. I gave you all. There was
- 50:34Speaker 1: like two. Anyways, I picked the latest date in October.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I picked the latest one in the evening. Also, because
- 50:40Speaker 1: you want to try to get sunset that's the best lighting. Yes,
- 50:45Speaker 1: so I got the latest that we could. But it's
- 50:47Speaker 1: still going to be like ninety degrees outside and we
- 50:49Speaker 1: have to dress like we're in full because she does
- 50:51Speaker 1: the she edits it to make the lighting look like somehow.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I don't know how she did it last year, but
- 50:56Speaker 1: we went and took pictures last year and we were
- 50:58Speaker 1: out in this like filled with all these stickers and
- 51:00Speaker 1: trash and all this stuff, and so in the middle
- 51:03Speaker 1: of West Texas everything was like green, which they have
- 51:06Speaker 1: to do it there because it is the only place
- 51:07Speaker 1: with a tree. Yeah, the only place that looks like
- 51:10Speaker 1: it has some trees. Anyway, she's able to like model,
- 51:12Speaker 1: like edit the lighting so it looks more foolish. So anyway,
- 51:16Speaker 1: so we're gonna go out there and by the time
- 51:17Speaker 1: we're done, though, you're like sweating and stuff. But I
- 51:20Speaker 1: did sign us up to do it at the other
- 51:21Speaker 1: place now, so we don't have to walk through the
- 51:25Speaker 1: the the forest and I use that term lightly.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Oh, we don't have to go to the same swat.
- 51:29Speaker 1: No, I told you we're going to that one place,
- 51:31Speaker 1: the that we went and ate at that British the
- 51:35Speaker 1: neighbor that owns the British. Uh, that wasn't that green?
- 51:40Speaker 2: It was fun. I like it.
- 51:42Speaker 1: That's the neighbor situation. That's a conversation for the shoe poo.
- 51:46Speaker 2: So well that's already been in this podcast.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so the dog drama. Yeah, all right, so we're
- 51:53Speaker 1: going to do that. We gotta go get ready, But
- 51:55Speaker 1: all right, that is our episode and I guess we
- 51:58Speaker 1: will see you next time.
- 52:00Speaker 2: What I'm not gonna ask me if I know anything
- 52:02Speaker 2: else does what?
- 52:04Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Yes, I got some bit of advice for you. Okay,
- 52:09Speaker 2: on the same night you never take a sleep and
- 52:12Speaker 2: pulling the like of this oh my God's advice corner.
- 52:17Speaker 1: No, we're not doing Stu's advice at all. All right,
- 52:23Speaker 1: that's it, buyveryone.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Say bye bye, Steve. Don't you know it's bad to
- 52:31Speaker 2: be supersticious? But nothing else is working. It's pretty hurting
- 52:42Speaker 2: sick of this worthy I can
