- 0:03Tracy: I'm your host, Tracey Cartwright, and together we will be exploring the world of family constellations with facilitators from, and clients from around the world.
- 0:13Tracy: Looking at different perspectives and experiences in the work, having a cup of tea, and just chatting with some friends around their experiences in constellations.
- 0:23Tracy: We'd love for you to join us.
- 0:25Tracy: I hope that you enjoy this series as much as I have loved making it.
- 0:33Tracy: Kia ora, everyone.
- 0:34Tracy: Welcome to Constellations and All That.
- 0:37Tracy: Today, I have the utmost pleasure of chatting with Patricia Yu.
- 0:42Tracy: Welcome, Patricia.
- 0:43Patricia: Thank you so much, Tracy, for having me.
- 0:45Patricia: It's a pleasure and an honor to be here with you.
- 0:48Tracy: Aw, thank you.
- 0:49Tracy: I, um, I've been really looking forward to this.
- 0:51Tracy: Your name's been, um… I've seen your name and I've, and I've followed you for quite a while.
- 0:55Tracy: And, and in honor of you, I've placed some water in the field behind us.
- 1:00Patricia: Thank you.
- 1:02Tracy: Um, for those who don't know you, would you share a little bit about yourself?
- 1:06Patricia: Yes.
- 1:07Patricia: So I'm Patricia Yu.
- 1:09Patricia: I am a facilitator and a teacher of water constellations, creator of the Water Dance method, and you're gonna find out more about what it is.
- 1:21Patricia: I am a mom of three.
- 1:23Patricia: I'm originally from Brazil, but currently living in the United States.
- 1:28Patricia: So I've lived in China for 11 years, so I've been away from my home, my home country for 23 years almost.
- 1:38Patricia: And I've been a holistic practitioner for 10 years, and family and water facilitator, uh, constellation facilitator for around four years.
- 1:50Patricia: Yeah, I'm just excited to be here with you, Tracy, and, uh, explain a little bit more about, um, my work, and just really, um, be at service of the field and just to have fun.
- 2:04Tracy: Great.
- 2:05Tracy: That sounds fantastic.
- 2:06Tracy: So I'll start off with my usual question.
- 2:08Tracy: I only… I'm not scripted really, but I have a couple of questions that I tend to ask, and that is how did you first meet constellations, or how did constellations find you?
- 2:20Patricia: So as probably many people, constellation finds you at a very challenging time in your personal life.
- 2:31Patricia: In my case, it was about four, four or five years ago.
- 2:38Patricia: When I was having a really rough patch in my marriage, uh, the only thing I could see was a divorce because there was a really difficult dynamic between my younger son and my husband, and I would get in the middle, and then the other two sons will feel neglected as usual, right?
- 3:01Patricia: And after trying different approaches, one of my friends suggested family constellations, and I booked a session online with a facilitator from Brazil.
- 3:14Patricia: And within two weeks, for the first time in 13 years, my son and my husband were able to have a conversation without yelling or doors banging around the house.
- 3:28Patricia: I was like, "What just happened?
- 3:30Patricia: What is this?" So because the results were so profound to the point that it rearranged and rebalanced the whole family system, I was like, "I need to learn how to facilitate." Amazing tool for my clients, right?
- 3:50Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 3:50Patricia: So then I started training with a facilitator in Brazil online, and did, uh, two other trainings after that.
- 4:00Patricia: And, um, last year I came across water constellations.
- 4:05Patricia: Not sure if you would like me to say- Yeah,
- 4:08Tracy: talk a little bit
- 4:09Patricia: about that … that now?
- 4:09Patricia: I'd like that.
- 4:09Patricia: Okay.
- 4:10Tracy: Yeah, yeah,
- 4:10Patricia: yeah.
- 4:11Patricia: Yeah.
- 4:12Patricia: So I was getting ready to see a client in person, and I was gathering my materials and everything, and instead of grabbing the wooden dolls that people, people normally use for family constellations, I grabbed the floating dolls, which are these cuties here.
- 4:32Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 4:34Patricia: And then I'm getting my things and getting ready, put my things in the car, and I come inside the house to grab something else, and I hear a whisper saying, "Take the bowl." And I'm like… And this whisper is my, you know, spiritual guide, higher self, whatever people- Mm-hmm … wanna call it.
- 4:55Patricia: And he's always here on my right side.
- 4:57Patricia: Same.
- 4:57Patricia: So that's why I did that.
- 4:58Tracy: All right.
- 4:59Patricia: Yeah.
- 4:59Patricia: Oh, really?
- 5:01Patricia: Yeah.
- 5:01Patricia: Yes.
- 5:02Patricia: The good thing, I was alone at home, right?
- 5:04Patricia: I stop and I was like, "I only did that for myself once.
- 5:09Patricia: I don't even know how to do that for a client, and it's my first time client.
- 5:13Patricia: I don't wanna mess it up." And I was like,"Eh, not gonna do it." And then the voice was a little bit louder, "Take the bowl." And I'm like, "I'm not gonna do it." Okay.
- 5:21Patricia: "I, I'm not sure what to do." Just an enactment.
- 5:24Patricia: Yep.
- 5:24Patricia: Yes.
- 5:25Patricia: And it was like, "Take the bowl." And I said, "Okay.
- 5:29Patricia: I'll take a bowl." So I just grabbed the, the like, uh, serving dish that I had in the kitchen, and I put it in the car.
- 5:36Patricia: I said, "I'm… Take it." On the whole drive there, Tracy, it's like 25 minutes, I'm like, "I don't know if I'm gonna do it." And the voice just, "Just trust.
- 5:43Patricia: Just trust." So I get into my zone.
- 5:50Patricia: I get the room ready.
- 5:51Patricia: I place the bowl.
- 5:52Patricia: I, you know, start talking to the client, and we start putting figurines in the water.
- 5:58Patricia: And I'm just surrendering and allowing everything happen.
- 6:03Patricia: And then all of a sudden, the figurines, I think there were s- five or six of them in the bowl.
- 6:10Patricia: And by the way, I use a bowl with water and the floating figurines.
- 6:17Patricia: They settled, and my client just started crying.
- 6:21Patricia: Like, she's, like, bawling in front of me, and I'm just, like, holding space for her.
- 6:27Patricia: And then I ask, when she calmed down, I asked her, "Would you like to share what you're feeling?" And she said, "You have no idea, but this is exactly what my family looks like." Mm. Like, I don't remember the specifics, but the way they were placed, like, Mom n- not looking at the dad, the dad looking at the other side.
- 6:50Patricia: She was with her younger brother.
- 6:52Patricia: They're very close.
- 6:53Patricia: They were looking at each other very close together.
- 6:55Patricia: The other brother on the other side of the bowl.
- 6:58Patricia: And then she told me, "Oh, he's always, like, the black sheep of the family.
- 7:02Patricia: He's the excluded one." And in that moment, I just had this rush of adrenaline, like, wash over my body.
- 7:13Patricia: You know, you… I'm sure you have, you've felt already, like, a quantum jump.
- 7:18Patricia: Like- Mm … you know?
- 7:20Patricia: Like, there was this vibration inside my body.
- 7:22Patricia: I felt like something just got downloaded into my whole being, and I'm like, "What just happened here?" You know, after the session, I remember I sat in my car, I'm like, "Oh my God.
- 7:35Patricia: What just- Mm … happened here?" So the whole way home, I'm like, "You know, thank you universe and spirit guides for allowing me to experience that." And I got home, and I shared the experience in the Constellations International Facebook group.
- 7:55Patricia: And everybody's like,"Wow, this is amazing.
- 7:58Patricia: How did you learn this?
- 7:59Patricia: I wanna learn that too.
- 8:01Patricia: I wanna learn that too.
- 8:02Patricia: Where did you learn this?" I say,"I learned that in Brazil, but she doesn't speak any English.
- 8:06Patricia: She s- only speaks Portuguese." Like 50 something people commenting, and I'm like, "Whoa, this is just amazing." The next day, I go out for lunch with my son, one of my twins.
- 8:19Patricia: I have twins and a third one, and a younger one.
- 8:22Patricia: I go out for lunch with my son, and I'm just telling him, "I don't know what happened," but, you know, just telling him, and people want to learn.
- 8:29Patricia: And he looked at me and said,"Why don't you just teach it?" I said, "What do you mean?" "Didn't you know how to do the session?" "Yes.""Didn't you do a session for yourself before?" "Yes." "Haven't you, haven't you been a teacher since you were 15?
- 8:43Patricia: That's what you've been doing for 40 years.
- 8:46Patricia: Yes?
- 8:48Patricia: Just start teaching it." And I was like, "Ah, are you sure?" You know?
- 8:51Patricia: And it was like a mix of excitement and fear at the same time.
- 8:56Patricia: Like- Mm … who am I, and do I have the tools?
- 8:58Patricia: Mm. And am I capable?
- 9:00Patricia: And then I was like, "Okay, I just need to go home and just meditate on that," because it's a lot.
- 9:05Patricia: It's, a lot has happened in 24 hours, right?
- 9:09Patricia: So I just sat with it, and it was, like, a very clear yes from my body.
- 9:15Patricia: And I believe in two days I put a waiting list together, and 47 people signed up for the waiting list.
- 9:22Patricia: And I believe a month later, I had a class with people from 17 different countries.
- 9:28Patricia: Ooh.
- 9:30Patricia: And it's gonna be a year now in October, and I'm onto my fourth class already, having taught this method to, I believe, 56, 55 people so far.
- 9:43Tracy: That's fantastic.
- 9:45Tracy: Well done.
- 9:46Patricia: I know.
- 9:47Patricia: I know.
- 9:47Patricia: Well done.
- 9:48Patricia: I know.
- 9:48Patricia: And it's so funny because one of my students, um, yesterday, I have, um, a class with a Korean professor.
- 9:57Patricia: So they are professors from Korea, professors of psychology, psychiatry, and, uh, she's was saying, saying, "I don't feel ready. Done the practices for myself, but I don't feel ready to do it for anybody else." And then I told them the story again.
- 10:14Patricia: I said, "If I didn't push my fear of being ready, this class would, wouldn't, wouldn't have happened." So-
- 10:23Tracy: Mm. Mm… Patricia: just trust and just, um, open Exactly.
- 10:31Tracy: I'm just writing- Yeah … a couple of things down here, 'cause, like, as we're talking, as you're talking, there's a whole lot of stuff, a whole lot of questions coming through for me.
- 10:38Tracy: You mentioned that this voice had said to you three times, I just wanna, uh, that's, I have a, I have set up a system with my guide, higher self, whatever you wanna call it, the voice.
- 10:50Patricia: Yes,
- 10:51Tracy: yes.
- 10:53Tracy: And that's the one that I really trust innately, you know?
- 10:55Tracy: Like, it's just so-
- 10:56Patricia: Mm-hmm… Tracy: I know that when I hear that There was a time when it was like, because I had been hearing s- stuff for such a long time, all my life, and pushing it away, and stuff like that.
- 11:08Patricia: W- when I first d- decided that, um, I was gonna be on my authentic path, and stop pushing it all away, stop numbing it, I made a deal, and that was that they would keep me in my own lane, in my own channel, not picking up v- all this other stuff that was confusing and overwhelming, and that they would tell me three times.
- 11:33Patricia: If I didn't listen- Three … the first time, they would tell me, yeah, three times.
- 11:38Patricia: And if I heard that the third time, then I would trust, you know?
- 11:40Patricia: And it's obviously, it's like a muscle.
- 11:42Patricia: Uh-huh.
- 11:42Patricia: And I had to learn to do that.
- 11:44Patricia: And I had a, I had a f- um- Had a couple of tests I put unconsciously- … put in there.
- 11:50Patricia: But I just wanted to say, that just reminded me of that story, you know?
- 11:54Patricia: Um- Mm-hmm… Tracy: and when we trust Yeah… Tracy: profound what can come through.
- 12:02Patricia: So- It is… Tracy: well done.
- 12:03Patricia: Yeah.
- 12:03Patricia: Well done.
- 12:04Patricia: It is.
- 12:05Patricia: Yeah, it's interesting that you made a deal, uh, of the three times, yeah.
- 12:09Patricia: Or
- 12:09Tracy: an ag- yeah, a deal and agreement or whatever you wanna call it.
- 12:12Patricia: Yeah.
- 12:12Tracy: It was,
- 12:12Patricia: uh- Yeah.
- 12:13Patricia: Like a, like a- Seeming like some boundaries communication.
- 12:15Patricia: Yeah.
- 12:16Patricia: Like clarifying the communication, you know?
- 12:19Patricia: Yeah, I love that.
- 12:20Tracy: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:21Tracy: Be- because I'd spent so many years pushing it away, um- Mm-hmm … because I've been hearing the, uh, hearing the, uh, guidance since I was young, little, little thing.
- 12:33Tracy: So, um-
- 12:34Patricia: Mm-hmm… Tracy: yeah, I just had to So you call it the water dance?
- 12:40Patricia: Water constellations?
- 12:41Patricia: The water dance method.
- 12:42Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 12:43Tracy: The water dance method.
- 12:44Tracy: And you had learnt this from your teacher in Brazil?
- 12:47Tracy: But you learnt something different, right?
- 12:49Tracy: C- can y- what was the difference?
- 12:51Patricia: Yeah.
- 12:52Patricia: So I learned water constellations from a teacher in Brazil when I was studying family constellations.
- 12:59Patricia: So we had one module that she touched on the water.
- 13:04Patricia: And then later I did a whole water constellation course, right?
- 13:09Patricia: Certification.
- 13:11Patricia: But throughout the classes, and ever since October, every time I hold a class, Tracy, the field expands.
- 13:22Patricia: The field asks more of me, asks more of- Mm … the students, deepens the clarity and the quality of information that we're able to gather fr- from the water.
- 13:35Patricia: So I, just for the class that I opened, the two classes that I opened in July, I revisited all the training, and I r- re-recorded the whole training and really specifically, um, organizing it into a method.
- 13:57Patricia: Mm. So even though I studied with, uh, different teachers of water constellation, you know, itself, I created my own method according to the 12 different certifications that I have in holistic healing throughout the years.
- 14:13Patricia: Yeah.
- 14:14Patricia: And, um, I just made it my own, right?
- 14:17Patricia: So that's why I call it the water dance because I really believe that when we open the water field- To what's possible.
- 14:28Patricia: It's a, it's really a dance between the wisdom of the water, the client, and their intuition, inner wisdom, higher selves, myself as a facilitator, my intuition as well, and something that I call universal intelligence that really is the part that guides the work, allowing the client to receive what they are ready to receive that moment, that day.
- 14:58Patricia: So that's why it's a dance, you know?
- 15:00Patricia: As a facilitator, it's a dance between giving the client time to experience, to integrate, allowing a lot of silence.
- 15:11Patricia: So if you compare water constellation to traditional family constellations, water constellation is very slow.
- 15:19Patricia: A lot of people say it's very slow, and it looks like nothing is happening in the field, but there's a lot happening inside the client So the way that I see it is that wisdom of the water really resonates with the water molecules of the client.
- 15:39Patricia: And if you think about Dr. Vita Austin's, uh, research on the intelligence of the water, she strongly believes that the water in our body and the water in the whole planet Earth hold the Akashic records.
- 15:59Patricia: Mm. That's why I've seen it time and time again, clients looking at three figurines in the water that are, that look stuck, and all of a sudden a deep memory comes up and their body starts shaking, like, uncontrollably, or they just start crying or they suddenly remember something from their childhood that they haven't thought about for 20-something years.
- 16:28Patricia: Just the other day, one of my students was finally able to understand where her grief was coming from.
- 16:36Patricia: She's been dealing with this deep grief and sadness for 37 years.
- 16:42Patricia: So even though I might not have the knowledge or the word to really explain what happens-
- 16:52Tracy: Mm. Mm … it
- 16:53Patricia: happens, and it's just magical.
- 16:56Patricia: It's just magical.
- 16:57Patricia: If you are able to surrender to the wisdom of the water and really be okay with universe intelligence allowing you to see what you're ready to see and receive that day.
- 17:11Tracy: Fantastic.
- 17:13Tracy: I love that.
- 17:13Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 17:14Tracy: That is so good.
- 17:15Tracy: We have a, an immersion here in New Zealand, and, and for in New Zealand it's still, you know, constellations is, is very much in the evolving days of compared to other parts of the world.
- 17:30Tracy: And we were doing a nature constellation outside.
- 17:33Tracy: Rochelle Mann was, um, running a nature constellation at the immersion, and I was part of that.
- 17:39Tracy: And we ended up all… The nearest body of water was a big puddle in the car park.
- 17:47Tracy: And we were all outside in this area, and we all kind of gravitated to this puddle.
- 17:53Tracy: It was, like, quite a big one, and it had different layers to it and we all ended up at this puddle pool of water.
- 18:02Tracy: We were all having our own individual constellations in nature, but at the same time it was a collective one.
- 18:09Tracy: Right?
- 18:09Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 18:10Tracy: And one of the participants had picked up all these little acorn hats.
- 18:15Tracy: You know the little bits that sit on the acorn?
- 18:16Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 18:17Tracy: And she'd gone around she was like,"Look, I'm just giving everyone an acorn." And then a few of us were just standing around- The po-, the p-, uh, the water.
- 18:26Tracy: We started putting our acorn hats in the water, and we watched the dance between us all.
- 18:33Tracy: And it was- Mm for me it was meaning something.
- 18:36Tracy: For someone else it meant something completely different, you know.
- 18:38Tracy: So there was these multilayers of constellations happening at the same time.
- 18:42Tracy: Insights that we all got from this-
- 18:44Patricia: Exactly… Tracy: multiple layered of things from a- Exactly … plant as well.
- 18:49Tracy: Yeah.
- 18:49Patricia: I know.
- 18:50Patricia: If you surrender to the magic- Mm you know, to the unknowing, to the not having control, 'cause in the water you, you don't have control.
- 18:58Tracy: That's right.
- 18:59Tracy: Yeah.
- 18:59Tracy: Yeah.
- 19:00Tracy: 'Cause there was another- So- … another example I wanted to give you was I, we were in, we were traveling.
- 19:05Tracy: There was a few of us, and a situation had come up that really rattled, and they were feeling angry and anxious, and all sorts of different things were coming up.
- 19:14Tracy: So I said, I said, 'cause we had lots of water bottles- How about we just all take the lid off our water bottles and we'll fill the bath with water with the intention of just seeing what's there.
- 19:29Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 19:29Tracy: Not to… Just, just see what's there.
- 19:33Tracy: And so we did that.
- 19:33Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 19:33Tracy: And that was a beautiful dance and insight too.
- 19:36Tracy: Once we got out of our way and put aside any pain and just to… for curiosity.
- 19:42Tracy: So yeah, we've had some- That's
- 19:45Patricia: magical.
- 19:45Patricia: Magic-
- 19:45Tracy: And it was because of, of your work, because of what I'd seen of you.
- 19:50Tracy: And even though I haven't done your work, haven't done your course yet, it was like that was an inspiration for me to-
- 19:57Patricia: Aw
- 19:57Tracy: to do that.
- 19:58Patricia: So.
- 19:58Patricia: Thank you.
- 19:59Tracy: Mm. Thank
- 19:59Patricia: you.
- 20:00Tracy: Mm. You're welcome.
- 20:01Tracy: You're welcome.
- 20:01Patricia: Thank you.
- 20:03Tracy: How do you describe it to people when your clients or friends or at a barbecue someone says, "What do you do?"
- 20:12Patricia: That's a very good question because it's not something very easy to explain, right?
- 20:16Patricia: And it really depends the level of consciousness of the people that I'm with.
- 20:22Patricia: But, like, for people that never met me, I'm a holistic therapy and I work with, uh, generational trauma.
- 20:30Patricia: I believe that the language gravitates- Mm … according to the group of people.
- 20:36Patricia: And, uh, if they ask me, "What do you do? Tell me more," or something like that, I then explain… I don't explain the method, but I explain the process.
- 20:48Patricia: I have a bowl of water, you know, and then we get together, and then I use… I usually s- um, show them pictures on my website for the figurines, and each one represent one person, and we see what comes up.
- 21:01Patricia: You know, I try to keep it very simple because I don't believe people can really understand what it is unless they experience it.
- 21:10Tracy: Mm. It's very a felt somatic thing, isn't it?
- 21:14Patricia: That's it.
- 21:14Patricia: Yeah.
- 21:15Tracy: Do, do you, do you only do the water constellations or are you still in- working with the traditional or the-
- 21:21Patricia: No.
- 21:22Patricia: I only do water constellations.
- 21:24Tracy: Wow.
- 21:24Tracy: It's really-
- 21:25Patricia: So far.
- 21:25Patricia: I don't know … guided your life.
- 21:27Tracy: Yeah.
- 21:27Patricia: But so far.
- 21:27Patricia: Yeah.
- 21:27Patricia: Yes.
- 21:28Patricia: It has seriously transformed my life.
- 21:32Patricia: Transformed my life in ways that I don't even know what they are.
- 21:37Patricia: I really feel that this is just the beginning of the expansion of this work.
- 21:43Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 21:44Tracy: And you showed me a, a little figurine.
- 21:47Tracy: Can you hold that up again- Yeah … to
- 21:48Patricia: this one?
- 21:48Patricia: Oh, yeah.
- 21:49Patricia: I have… So when- Thank you … my students, when my students… Uh, no, I have them all here.
- 21:55Patricia: When my students sign up, they receive a kit with 30 different figurines.
- 22:02Tracy: Oh, wow
- 22:04Patricia: They're so adorable.
- 22:06Patricia: They're made by this amazing artist in Brazil.
- 22:08Patricia: She makes them all by hand.
- 22:11Tracy: Fantastic.
- 22:12Patricia: Yes, one by one.
- 22:14Patricia: So th- this is grandpa.
- 22:16Tracy: And did you design them or they were designed by-
- 22:19Patricia: No, she, she already had, um, the designs, and then we just got together to, to decide which ones I wanted to add in the kit.
- 22:31Patricia: So this is an angry man
- 22:34Tracy: Oh.
- 22:35Patricia: And the ribbon I wonder how you can tell.
- 22:39Tracy: Quite a bit going on in the head.
- 22:41Patricia: I know.
- 22:42Patricia: And this usually I use for when the person is stuck or-
- 22:47Tracy: Oh,
- 22:47Patricia: wow … lost.
- 22:48Patricia: Yes.
- 22:50Patricia: This one is, like, burdened or carrying the world in their shoulders.
- 22:56Patricia: Wow.
- 22:57Patricia: Yes.
- 22:59Patricia: This one is my favorite one that I showed you before.
- 23:01Patricia: It can mean so many different things.
- 23:03Patricia: It can mean self-love, higher self.
- 23:07Patricia: Yeah.
- 23:07Patricia: Expansion, transformation.
- 23:11Patricia: And we have here representing the maternal line, so three women.
- 23:18Tracy: And, and they must be quite light, are they?
- 23:21Patricia: They are.
- 23:21Patricia: They're super light.
- 23:23Patricia: And this is the paternal line.
- 23:25Tracy: Wow.
- 23:26Patricia: The paternal line.
- 23:27Patricia: And then, uh, I have a few other ones here.
- 23:30Patricia: Heart, and the children is the little girl and the little boy.
- 23:37Tracy: Fantastic.
- 23:38Tracy: Yes.
- 23:38Tracy: And so you sh- you ship them a- all around the world, obviously, if you've got 17- Yes … you've had-
- 23:43Patricia: Yes… Tracy: probably every country in the world Yes.
- 23:50Patricia: I counted the other day, it's 22 countries so far.
- 23:53Tracy: Wow.
- 23:54Patricia: The la- last week I just shipped to Bosnia.
- 23:59Patricia: It's amazing.
- 23:59Patricia: Yes, I know.
- 24:00Patricia: It's amazing.
- 24:01Patricia: It's amazing.
- 24:03Tracy: Wow.
- 24:03Tracy: That's got-
- 24:04Patricia: Mm-hmm… Tracy: really cool.
- 24:05Patricia: Yes.
- 24:06Tracy: Ah.
- 24:07Tracy: And do your boys, do they, have they experienced it?
- 24:10Tracy: Like, you know the son that took, you were having lunch with and he said,"Do it, Mom." Have they experienced
- 24:16Patricia: this?
- 24:16Patricia: No.
- 24:16Patricia: No.
- 24:17Patricia: No.
- 24:18Patricia: They haven't experienced it.
- 24:20Patricia: They haven't asked me yet because it, maybe it's not their time to experience that yet.
- 24:27Patricia: Mm. And it's, it's gonna be hard for me to open a water constellation for them because I'll be biased, right?
- 24:34Patricia: As, as much as I try to stay professional, I'm their mom, so I usually, I usually no.
- 24:40Patricia: I don't work with family and friends.
- 24:43Patricia: I refer them to other facilitators.
- 24:46Patricia: But I have opened the field with something that I wanted to resolve between me and one of them or more than one of them.
- 24:56Patricia: Mm. But then I open the field, they're not here with me.
- 24:58Patricia: I take my insights and then I have a conversation or change so- something.
- 25:05Patricia: Little by little, I've been having conversations with them about- Uh, invisible loyalties, family dynamics, um, family patterns.
- 25:16Patricia: And it's, it's just been wonderful because the, the other day I was having lunch with another one, one other son, and we were talking about, um, family and dynamics and then, like, I got a little bit into loyalties, right?
- 25:31Patricia: In- invisible loyalties.
- 25:33Patricia: And he was like, he said, "Mom, I don't fully understand what you do, but that makes a lot of sense." Mm-hmm.
- 25:40Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 25:41Patricia: So planting the seed here and there, right?
- 25:45Patricia: But I don't believe I would work directly with, with them.
- 25:49Tracy: It's, um, yeah.
- 25:50Tracy: Yeah, I hear you.
- 25:52Tracy: I've got a cou- I've got three children as well, and, um, my daughters, they both run businesses as well.
- 25:57Tracy: And, uh-
- 25:58Patricia: Mm-hmm… Tracy: they often refer They've been… When I first started out, because the work was so unknown then, and I, I get a lot of, I, I, I do a lot of sharing and stuff now, and more and more people know about it.
- 26:12Patricia: But in my world, around here, uh, but at the beginning it was very hard to get people to come to my workshops if they didn't know about it.
- 26:20Patricia: So I might- Mm-hmm … might get two or three that wanna work, and I really needed some more reps, so my children, my girls who were- late teens, early 20s back then.
- 26:31Patricia: They would come and represent for me, so they got to kind of- Brilliant … see what I did without being constellated themselves.
- 26:40Patricia: Nice.
- 26:40Tracy: Yeah.
- 26:40Tracy: That's- So they re- they, they share with others about it a little bit.
- 26:43Tracy: They don't really understand it either, but,
- 26:46Patricia: yeah.
- 26:48Patricia: But that's incredible that they were open to help you.
- 26:50Patricia: That's really lovely.
- 26:52Tracy: And my mom and my sister as well, and niece.
- 26:54Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 26:55Tracy: And they just would… They came to represent.
- 26:57Tracy: It was really great for them, um, and great for me.
- 26:59Tracy: I'm very grateful for their, for all of them, for coming and supporting me in that way.
- 27:04Patricia: Yeah.
- 27:05Patricia: Yeah.
- 27:05Patricia: It's amazing.
- 27:05Patricia: Yeah.
- 27:05Patricia: It's, it's great when your family supports you, isn't it?
- 27:08Patricia: Yeah.
- 27:09Tracy: And it sounds like- Mm … I mean, obviously you're portable.
- 27:11Tracy: You take your bowl and you take your figurines and you travel, yeah?
- 27:15Patricia: I do.
- 27:16Patricia: I had the opportunity to, to do a workshop in Malta, in Italy, um, this May, for the Constellators International Retreat.
- 27:28Tracy: Mm.
- 27:29Patricia: So that was really something special because I presented my method, uh, for the participants who were there, and I did a demonstration of the method.
- 27:41Patricia: A whole session, you know?
- 27:42Patricia: So that was really incredible.
- 27:44Patricia: And then now for the, the conference in Portugal, there were a few of them who were in Sintra as well, in Malta as well, and they were like,"Did- didn't you bring your bowl?
- 27:56Patricia: You're not gonna do anything?
- 27:57Patricia: You're not gonna present?
- 27:58Patricia: You're not gonna do a workshop?
- 27:59Patricia: Where, where are my little guys?" And I said, "No, I'm, I'm here for myself.
- 28:05Patricia: I didn't come here to work." Mm. But I learned my lesson, because a lot of people were asking about it and curious to see.
- 28:12Patricia: So next time I go for a conference or a retreat, um, they're coming with me.
- 28:18Tracy: Great.
- 28:20Patricia: Because it was amazing.
- 28:21Patricia: People started asking me about it.
- 28:22Patricia: "Oh, you were the water lady.
- 28:24Patricia: Oh, where are the, the little guys?" I said, "I didn't bring them.""Oh, why didn't you bring them?"
- 28:30Tracy: Um, you mentioned Vida earlier.
- 28:32Tracy: So Vida lives not… Well, she lives about an hour from me.
- 28:35Tracy: Oh, really?
- 28:35Tracy: Vida and we've got lots of friends in common.
- 28:38Tracy: Have you me- met her?
- 28:40Tracy: Have you worked with her- No … or done anything, anything at all?
- 28:42Tracy: No.
- 28:42Tracy: Nothing.
- 28:42Patricia: I wonder if,
- 28:43Tracy: um-
- 28:43Patricia: Nothing… Tracy: yeah, I'll see if I can find a I think that'd be lovely.
- 28:49Patricia: Oh my God, that would be an honor.
- 28:51Patricia: That would be an honor.
- 28:52Patricia: I, I just watched so many videos of her from YouTube, and I recommend her to my students.
- 28:59Patricia: Actually, it's mandatory to watch at least one of her interviews, in my, my training.
- 29:04Tracy: I can't pro- no promises, but I'll see what I can do.
- 29:06Tracy: Yes.
- 29:06Tracy: Well, that would- And maybe, maybe I'll share this interview, um, and see if I can get it to, to her.
- 29:11Patricia: Yes.
- 29:12Patricia: That would be my honor.
- 29:12Patricia: Thank you so much.
- 29:14Tracy: Yeah.
- 29:14Tracy: Have you ever done any constellating?
- 29:16Tracy: I know you've got the figurines.
- 29:18Tracy: I don't know why I just got asked to ask this, about around animals, was it?
- 29:22Tracy: Anyone brought an angel
- 29:23Patricia: in- It's so funny that you ask.
- 29:24Patricia: It's so funny that you ask because, uh, my client, I think it was this Monday, came to me feeling like she has no life force, feeling like something is disconnected from her.
- 29:36Patricia: She has the motivation to do something, but then she doesn't.
- 29:40Patricia: Like, this pattern throughout her whole life, right?
- 29:43Patricia: So I, I chose the angel to be, to represent her life force.
- 29:49Patricia: And as I, I, I picked it up, I showed it to her, and then it just fell on the table, not inside the bowl.
- 29:56Patricia: And then I showed it to her.
- 29:57Patricia: Mm. I said, "Look what happened.
- 29:59Patricia: Your life force doesn't have any force to go into your field." And she just contemplated that.
- 30:06Patricia: And then I ask her, "Who would you like to bring into the field that you feel strong with?" And she chose her cat.
- 30:16Tracy: Oh, wow.
- 30:17Patricia: It was so adorable.
- 30:19Patricia: So she has two cats.
- 30:20Patricia: She chose representing the two cats, right?
- 30:24Patricia: And then they enter the field, and she's, like, so emotional and feeling so good, and we started… You know, I gave her space for her to feel everything.
- 30:34Patricia: And then she brought another representative.
- 30:37Patricia: I don't remember who, which one it was.
- 30:40Patricia: And then the field became stronger and stronger, and then I ask her,"Do you feel like life force, your soul, it feels strong, strong enough to come into your field now?" And she said, "Yes." And then it did, and it went straight to her cat, you know?
- 30:59Patricia: Oh, yeah.
- 31:00Patricia: Uh, to representing her cats.
- 31:01Patricia: And then, uh, w- her black cat just comes into the room and just sits there.
- 31:07Patricia: So it was so amazing.
- 31:09Patricia: And she's like, "Yeah, my cats are, like, really there for me.
- 31:11Patricia: I know when I'm feeling sad, they come over.
- 31:14Patricia: They know what I need from them." Uh, she feels she's been… She said that, um, when she was really depressed, first time she started seeing a therapist, the therapist said, "No, um, you know, a cat's not gonna help," whatever.
- 31:29Patricia: And then she said, "No, but I really felt this, this deep voice inside of me telling me to get a cat, and I'm glad I did because he helped me so much." So it's funny that you ask that.
- 31:40Patricia: Yes.
- 31:41Patricia: So cats and dogs.
- 31:42Patricia: I have a dog as well.
- 31:44Tracy: Oh, very cute.
- 31:45Patricia: Yes.
- 31:46Patricia: And we can always use, like, a- these kind of representatives for- Yeah … other animals, right?
- 31:52Patricia: I just remembered a story about, uh, one of my, my students.
- 31:56Patricia: She has a parrot.
- 31:58Patricia: So we start the class and her parrot is here on top of her computer doing this on the camera.
- 32:05Patricia: She takes the parrot out, and then she's like, "Okay, go do something else." The parrot comes back.
- 32:11Tracy: Tap, tap, tap.
- 32:12Patricia: And then I look at her and I said, "Leslie, what don't you want to see? Or what don't you want the world to see about you?" And she's like, "." So she stopped, you know?
- 32:25Patricia: She was like, "Oh my God, you're so right." And then she started talking about it, talking about it.
- 32:30Patricia: And the parrot left and just left the room.
- 32:34Tracy: That's amazing, isn't it?
- 32:35Patricia: It's,
- 32:36Tracy: it- It's so good.
- 32:37Tracy: It's so good.
- 32:37Tracy: It is.
- 32:37Tracy: I was, I was like… 'Cause you s- you said your dog was outside, um, the door earlier.
- 32:42Tracy: Yes.
- 32:43Tracy: And my dog- Mm-hmm … if I let her out, she wants to be in it.
- 32:46Tracy: So she's got a little bed in here beside me, and she's always in part of it.
- 32:51Tracy: And, um, and the amount of conversations that I have with facilitators who, um… And c- we often come around to the animals and how- Mm-hmm … they are supporting us.
- 33:00Tracy: And we think w- we are giving them a life, but, you know- They just give so much to us, don't they?
- 33:07Tracy: They're just so unconditional.
- 33:08Patricia: They're amazing.
- 33:09Patricia: There was another day I was, uh, having a session with a client, and my dog just start barking out of nowhere.
- 33:17Patricia: And then she starts crying, and I ask her, um, "W- what are you feeling?" She said, "No, your dogs barking and looking at the field really reminded me of how chaotic my home was when I was growing up, and how unsafe I felt in my house." And as soon as she said that, the dog stopped barking and just went to lay down.
- 33:41Tracy: Amazing, eh?
- 33:42Patricia: They did their job, right?
- 33:44Tracy: Well, at the immersion last year, we, there was a, at the hotel there's this cat.
- 33:49Tracy: He actually doesn't live at the hotel.
- 33:50Tracy: He lives somewhere else down the road, but he's decided that the hotel is his domain, and they even give him- Mm-hmm a little chair and that.
- 33:57Tracy: And I was setting up the field for the last day.
- 34:01Tracy: I was running kind of like the, the, the end, the closing ceremony and stuff.
- 34:06And I was up at 4: 00 in the morning being guided of things to do, so I went down there and the cat came in with me into this room.
- 34:14And I was up at 4: Setting up the space for, like, 90 people and, and the cat's following me around, and he's talking away, like- I'm like,"Okay, I, I just really need to focus.
- 34:25And I was up at 4: Could you please just go and find somewhere to sit?" And he went over and, and he just went and sat on the chair that was gonna be my chair.
- 34:33And I was up at 4: I didn't know it.
- 34:34And I was up at 4: It wasn't till later- Mm-hmm … I realized, oh, that's where the cat sat.
- 34:37And I was up at 4: In front of that altar,'cause I was doing this-
- 34:39Patricia: Mm-hmm… Tracy: big circle.
- 34:41Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 34:41Patricia: And then, um, and, and at one stage during the conference as well, he'd… And he s- 'cause in that moment he sat there and he surveyed me, and it was like he was guiding me, but in a quieter way, which was lovely.
- 34:54Patricia: But at one time we'd had… And I think you've met Kelly.
- 34:57Patricia: She's done your course.
- 34:58Patricia: I know.
- 34:59Patricia: Yeah.
- 34:59Patricia: I love Kelly.
- 35:00Patricia: She's gorgeous, isn't she?
- 35:01Patricia: Oh, my God, yes.
- 35:02Patricia: Yes, she is.
- 35:03Tracy: So Kelly and Leanna had, um, had had a session in the evening, and they'd put a bowl of water in the middle.
- 35:10Patricia: Mm.
- 35:10Tracy: And the cat came up, and he kind of circled everyone, and then he went in and he just drank the water.
- 35:14Tracy: It was like he was, um, being part of it as well, taking the blessing-
- 35:19Patricia: I love that… Tracy: giving it, yeah.
- 35:21Patricia: I love that.
- 35:22Patricia: I love that.
- 35:23Tracy: He's such, such a part of the bigger, the bigger field, which was beautiful.
- 35:26Tracy: So if we think of water and we think of our mothers and, you know, would you describe the waters as representing the womb, the waters that we are in?
- 35:37Tracy: Or is it… I don't know.
- 35:39Tracy: I don't know where that question was come from.
- 35:40Tracy: Yeah.
- 35:40Tracy: Just seeing the word mother and it's like, hmm.
- 35:42Patricia: Yes.
- 35:43Patricia: Yeah.
- 35:43Patricia: That's a really interesting question.
- 35:45Patricia: I never thought about that as representing the womb.
- 35:49Patricia: To me, the water bowl res- represents your life, your whole life.
- 35:54Patricia: But it's interesting, because I've had clients who had insights during a water constellation of their life in the womb.
- 36:06Patricia: Mm. Like, um, a twin that didn't survive.
- 36:10Patricia: Yeah.
- 36:10Patricia: It's, it's most likely, you know, what they, they remember.
- 36:14Patricia: But I never thought about that that way.
- 36:16Patricia: Thank you, Tracy.
- 36:16Patricia: I'm gonna contemplate on that.
- 36:18Tracy: You're welcome.
- 36:19Patricia: Interesting.
- 36:19Patricia: You're welcome.
- 36:19Patricia: Interesting.
- 36:21Tracy: Hmm.
- 36:21Tracy: Just the… I, I kind of often look around for inspiration or just for the field to give me something to, for my eyes to see it along and, oh, there's
- 36:28Patricia: a- Yeah, interesting there's the next wisdom … to maybe do a, do a guiding session, you know, uh, or a guiding workshop for people who suffer trauma in the womb.
- 36:38Patricia: Mm. Interesting.
- 36:39Patricia: Yeah.
- 36:40Patricia: Yeah.
- 36:40Patricia: Something to explore.
- 36:41Patricia: Thank you.
- 36:41Patricia: Think
- 36:41Tracy: I might invite you to come over as well.
- 36:42Patricia: Yes.
- 36:44Patricia: Thank you.
- 36:46Tracy: I love it.
- 36:47Tracy: I love the- Yes … fluidity and the expansion and the- Yes the way that we can use this modality in so many ways.
- 36:58Patricia: Absolutely.
- 36:59Patricia: So during my training, every module has a self practice.
- 37:03Patricia: So the possibilities are endless.
- 37:06Patricia: When I'm creating the slides for each module, channeling, okay, how, what practice can they bring, can I bring to them to kind of, um, allow them to express what they learned, right?
- 37:22Patricia: Because I really believe in embodiment more than learning.
- 37:26Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 37:27Patricia: And then I was just creating the slides and the flow and recording the lesson, and then the self practice came to me to choose a representative for a block that they felt they had.
- 37:43Patricia: And another one for a resource, like a solution, you know.
- 37:47Patricia: Let's say, for example, you feel that your soul is trapped or blocked in trauma that you suffered, right?
- 37:56Patricia: And, uh, using an example for from a, a student, she lost, uh, her sense of creativity in that trauma that happened.
- 38:07Patricia: So she feels like she's not in touch with her creativity and flow and joy and happiness.
- 38:14Patricia: So that was the resource that we chose a representative to, to bring back to her.
- 38:20Patricia: So it was just lovely to see that these can represent pretty much anything.
- 38:27Tracy: Mm.
- 38:29Patricia: Right?
- 38:29Patricia: And even, even the, um, the mic, um, the people looking figurines.
- 38:36Patricia: The other day I did a consolation with this client who- feels that her business is not going anywhere, and we just worked with that.
- 38:48Patricia: And then I have a representative for money as well.
- 38:51Patricia: Of course, we brought money into the picture, right?
- 38:54Patricia: But for her business, we really showed a house.
- 38:57Patricia: You know?
- 38:58Patricia: Like, she has a physical business, right?
- 39:00Patricia: So the possibilities for exploring are endless.
- 39:05Patricia: Yeah.
- 39:05Patricia: And what I love about the water constellation is that you can do your own practice, and you don't even need the figurines.
- 39:12Patricia: I know they're super cute, right?
- 39:14Patricia: I just love them.
- 39:15Patricia: Sometimes I come here, and I just go over there.
- 39:19Patricia: I admire them and rearrange them.
- 39:21Patricia: I love my, my little, my little people.
- 39:23Patricia: But I have a student from… She's in Thailand, and, uh, the first life circle that we did, she didn't have her figurines yet.
- 39:33Patricia: They were stuck in customs.
- 39:35Patricia: And then she was so resourceful that she didn't have a, a proper bowl, so she went to the kitchen.
- 39:43Patricia: She got a frying pan with some water on it, and she grabbed some seeds that she had in the kitchen.
- 39:50Patricia: Mm. And she was just crying and crying, looking at the seeds.
- 39:54Patricia: Oh my God, it was so beautiful to know that you don't really need the figurines.
- 39:59Patricia: You can get leaves from outside, a cork.
- 40:04Patricia: Little figures.
- 40:05Patricia: Yes.
- 40:06Patricia: Flower petals, right?
- 40:07Patricia: Mm-hmm.
- 40:07Patricia: Anything that floats, really.
- 40:10Patricia: And just allow yourself to be in the presence of the field- Exactly … and trust that the field is going to let you know what you're ready for.
- 40:20Patricia: It's gonna show you what you're ready to release.
- 40:23Tracy: That's beautiful.
- 40:24Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 40:24Tracy: Exactly.
- 40:25Tracy: Uh, yeah.
- 40:26Tracy: I mean, uh, uh, not in a water constellation, but I've used all sorts of bizarre, obscure, we'll call them, obscure representatives, you know?
- 40:34Patricia: Yeah.
- 40:35Tracy: Been, been in a cafe and used sugar and salt and-
- 40:38Patricia: Oh, yes… Tracy: sauce and spoons and- Yes.
- 40:43Tracy: Mm. That's great.
- 40:46Tracy: So if someone wants to get in touch with you, and I know that you've given me the link, but if someone wants to get in touch with you, how would they do that?
- 40:53Patricia: I am very active on Facebook, and it's just my name, Patricia Yoo.
- 40:58Patricia: Not as much on, on Instagram.
- 41:01Patricia: I… 99% of my clients come from Facebook, not from Instagram, so that's why I don't spend much energy there.
- 41:08Patricia: But on Instagram, it's, uh, Water Constellations.
- 41:11Patricia: And my website is Patricia Yoo.
- 41:13Patricia: You have all the links there.
- 41:15Patricia: If you're not sure if a water constellation session is right for you or if you have questions before booking a session, you can book a free discovery call, you know, so we can get together, we can see if this work is what you're looking for- Mm-hmm … and, uh, and decide from there.
- 41:33Patricia: So all in all, you know, Facebook, I love, you know, getting to know more people and modalities as well, and expand my network of, um, Facebook friends and other facilitators as well for to collaborate.
- 41:49Patricia: I love collaborations like this.
- 41:52Patricia: So those three channels.
- 41:54Patricia: But my website has everything if people want one place to find out more about the work, about the training, order a kit, or, um, book a discovery call or a session, my website would be the best place.
- 42:08Tracy: Fantastic.
- 42:09Tracy: And so do, does your website have examples of the work, or, uh, do you have some on YouTube?
- 42:15Patricia: No, because it's very personal, Tracy.
- 42:18Patricia: Mm. It's very personal.
- 42:20Patricia: I did not find one person yet that is comfortable with allowing the whole world to see a session, right?
- 42:29Patricia: What I usually do, and I have one coming up in, um, October, it's a free workshop, and then that link, that replay link, is shared with everybody who signed up for the workshop that couldn't make it online.
- 42:44Tracy: Okay, great.
- 42:45Patricia: So that, tho- those events I do, but I do not leave, like, a whole session open on YouTube.
- 42:54Tracy: Great.
- 42:55Tracy: Okay.
- 42:56Tracy: Mm-hmm.
- 42:56Tracy: That's great for everyone to, to be able to connect and reach out to you and, yeah, I'm so- Yeah … so happy that we got to connect here.
- 43:04Patricia: Me too.
- 43:05Tracy: Thank you.
- 43:06Tracy: And, and, and, uh- Thank you so much … yeah, it's been a pleasure.
- 43:08Tracy: Thank you for taking the time to, to come and share- Thank you … wisdom and knowledge, and, uh, see we, what other magic we can create.
- 43:16Patricia: Yes.
- 43:17Patricia: Yes.
- 43:17Patricia: So thank you so much, Tracy, for reaching out.
- 43:20Patricia: Um, I saw the interview that you did with Monica, and I'm like, "Aw, I want to talk to her too." So- … not too long after that you reached out, so thank you so much for, you know, universe that brought us together.
