- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I got to come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:30Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in.
- 0:34Speaker 2: OTB live from Rouse's little football Friday here. Football.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Football.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Actual football.
- 0:40Speaker 3: With the ball and everything?
- 0:42Speaker 2: In the stadium.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Not in the corner.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Ball will soon be placed on tee. Because I know
- 0:48Speaker 2: you don't like boot meets ball.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Trying that one out. How'd it go?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Tee on the grass.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:54Speaker 3: There you go.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Nope.
- 0:55Speaker 3: So we do have that. So the entire stadium is
- 0:58Speaker 3: going to be rocking.
- 0:59Speaker 2: We do. And college game day is going to be rocking.
- 1:03Speaker 2: The campus is already rocking. Like, just trust me, go
- 1:07Speaker 2: down anywhere close to campus if you want to find
- 1:09Speaker 2: yourself in a parking lot. Not like in an actual
- 1:12Speaker 2: parking lot, but because you can't really go anywhere. The
- 1:16Speaker 2: buzz is real. It's going to be fantastic. And love it,
- 1:21Speaker 2: hate it, agree, disagree, whatever, whatever. Once that does happen,
- 1:26Speaker 2: once you wake up tomorrow, for a short period of time,
- 1:30Speaker 2: maybe it's a day, you are going to forget about courtrooms,
- 1:33Speaker 2: court cases, Commissioner Sankey, all of this. Because you're going
- 1:37Speaker 2: to be focused on the actual game, the actual stadium,
- 1:41Speaker 2: the LSU Tigers versus the Clemson Tigers. And you get
- 1:45Speaker 2: to escape and you get to go watch the game
- 1:47Speaker 2: that we've all been waiting for. Since Brian Kelly got fired,
- 1:51Speaker 2: not just like since the end, but since Brian Kelly
- 1:53Speaker 2: got fired, we've all been waiting for that. Once Lane
- 1:56Speaker 2: Kiffin was announced as the head coach, we've all been
- 1:58Speaker 2: circling this date. We've been looking forward to this date.
- 2:01Speaker 2: We've been trying to find a path to get here quicker.
- 2:04Speaker 2: How do we get there? We want to be in
- 2:05Speaker 2: that stadium. So tomorrow when you wake up, You're going
- 2:09Speaker 2: to do just that. It's going to be about football. Now,
- 2:12Speaker 2: I can't promise you what Sunday and Monday and Tuesday.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Is this show going to continue talking about court cases?
- 2:18Speaker 2: It's probably not. Just not our MO. It's not really
- 2:20Speaker 2: what we do. But for a little short period of time,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I think everyone's going to be able to escape away
- 2:26Speaker 2: from the court cases and the drama.
- 2:28Speaker 4: You know, that's been the most frustrating part about this thing.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I get it.
- 2:32Speaker 4: It doesn't matter what side you like, where your opinion
- 2:37Speaker 4: is with whether or not LSU should or could or shouldn't, whatever.
- 2:41Speaker 4: It doesn't really matter. The frustrating part for everybody on
- 2:45Speaker 4: either side of the opinion has been it's a couple
- 2:49Speaker 4: of days away from the first game that we have
- 2:51Speaker 4: all been dying for. Ever since Lane was announced as
- 2:55Speaker 4: the head coach for LSU, we've been waiting for Saturday.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Right. All of it.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it's cool to see them work in the transfer portal. Yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 4: it's cool to see a five-minute media period from training
- 3:06Speaker 4: camp practice or spring ball practice, whatever it is.
- 3:09Speaker 3: All that's cool. But we've been waiting on Saturday.
- 3:12Speaker 4: And for whatever reason, all this has transpired in the
- 3:15Speaker 4: last few weeks, last few days, and all we've been
- 3:18Speaker 4: able to talk about or hear about or think about
- 3:22Speaker 4: has been this court battle over two players.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I get it. It's more than that. All right, just
- 3:27Speaker 3: proving a point here.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It's like 40.
- 3:29Speaker 4: But we've been wanting so badly to talk about football
- 3:33Speaker 4: and get to football, and we're almost there. And just
- 3:36Speaker 4: like any big-time news story that comes across and steals
- 3:42Speaker 4: the attention of everybody, everything, every show, this will soon
- 3:46Speaker 4: be forgotten.
- 3:47Speaker 3: And we'll be back, and football will always be there.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And it'll still be here, and it's going to be
- 3:52Speaker 4: here Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. By God, it's going
- 3:54Speaker 4: to be absolutely electric. And we're going to kind of
- 3:58Speaker 4: forget all about this stuff.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I'm ready for that.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Man, do you think Lane's going to, like, just absolutely
- 4:04Speaker 4: troll everybody and run Daquan out there first play?
- 4:07Speaker 2: Well, I was actually going to get to that. Actually,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I would laugh at that. I was going to get
- 4:12Speaker 2: to that because Wilson Alexander, who was here for a
- 4:16Speaker 2: long time, did a great job on the beat. Now
- 4:17Speaker 2: with on three, he did say that, you know, as
- 4:21Speaker 2: we all do, that Wright and Harris are expected to
- 4:23Speaker 2: be on the roster. He had a conversation with them.
- 4:26Speaker 2: He also said that Wright told on three he would
- 4:29Speaker 2: most definitely play against Clemson while Harris would need a
- 4:33Speaker 2: couple of weeks to get ready. He had a foot injury,
- 4:36Speaker 2: so he is eyeing the Ole Miss game for his return.
- 4:39Speaker 2: So Daquan Wright said most definitely he feels like he
- 4:45Speaker 2: is going to play against Clemson. Now how much, I
- 4:48Speaker 2: don't know. And what role, nobody knows. But that's a
- 4:51Speaker 2: player that was in the courtroom yesterday saying, that is
- 4:54Speaker 2: telling you he most definitely his verbiage expects to play. Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Um, and if not this weekend, certainly by week two, again,
- 5:06Speaker 4: like even, even at the professional, the real professional level,
- 5:10Speaker 4: even at the NFL level, like it doesn't happen very
- 5:14Speaker 4: often where you get signed and then you get thrown
- 5:16Speaker 4: into a game without practicing at least next to the.
- 5:19Speaker 3: People you're going to play against one time.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Um, I'm trying to think of a case where I
- 5:26Speaker 4: was on a team where somebody came in, like, on
- 5:28Speaker 4: a Friday and played on a Sunday.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I got to Denver. No, I got to Denver on
- 5:38Speaker 2: a Thursday, played that next Sunday.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Got there on Thursday, played that next Sunday. Baker Mayfield.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield. That's the only person I can think of.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Tuesday, Thursday. Got there on Tuesday, started on Thursday.
- 5:48Speaker 3: That's the only one I can think of.
- 5:50Speaker 4: And that's a great example.
- 5:53Speaker 3: But did you ever have, like, Most people, new guys,
- 5:56Speaker 3: and you.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Have new guys coming in every single week, right, whether
- 5:59Speaker 4: it's practice squad or somebody getting injured or a special
- 6:01Speaker 4: teams guy. But then sometimes you would have a big-time
- 6:03Speaker 4: player come in middle of the season. They'd at least
- 6:06Speaker 4: get there on a Tuesday or a Wednesday and have
- 6:08Speaker 4: at least one or two practices before they got thrown in.
- 6:11Speaker 4: And still, if they did get thrown in, it was
- 6:14Speaker 4: very small amounts. Now, it is different that he does
- 6:20Speaker 4: know the whole offense.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Right. Because in the examples you were giving, because we
- 6:25Speaker 2: need to give context, when I got to Denver, I
- 6:28Speaker 2: had no idea what Peyton Manning's offense was. Baker Mayfield
- 6:31Speaker 2: didn't know Sean McVay's offense when he got to L.A.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I'm sure there was maybe some stuff. But this is
- 6:37Speaker 2: a player that has been in this offense for multiple years.
- 6:39Speaker 4: And realistically, what they're going to do is they're going
- 6:43Speaker 4: to have a– if Daquan is going to play a
- 6:48Speaker 4: little bit, they will have a handful of– they'll have
- 6:51Speaker 4: a package for him that he can go in.
- 6:53Speaker 3: And be able to run those plays. Like, when he's in,
- 6:56Speaker 3: he's going in for these specifically.
- 6:58Speaker 4: If he's got to run a route that's not really
- 6:59Speaker 4: in correlation with somebody else running a route.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Like, they're not in tandem with each other.
- 7:03Speaker 4: If he's just running a seam route or a stick
- 7:05Speaker 4: route or a flat route, something like that.
- 7:07Speaker 3: He'll have probably a pocket of plays that he can
- 7:08Speaker 3: go in for.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You know what would be the ultimate troll?
- 7:11Speaker 3: Hand him the ball. First play.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Throw him a bubble in the first play, I was
- 7:16Speaker 2: going to say. Be in a tight end.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It is pretty funny to think about it because it's
- 7:24Speaker 4: a joke, but there is more than a 0% chance.
- 7:28Speaker 3: That that happens.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Gulf South says apparently the SEC has a rule that
- 7:34Speaker 2: a player must be practicing for X amount of days
- 7:36Speaker 2: before they can play. Acclimation period is actually in there,
- 7:41Speaker 2: so you're not wrong on that. But again, Gulf South.
- 7:44Speaker 3: What's a rule? You can't have rules around here.
- 7:46Speaker 2: What's a rule? How do we follow the rule? And
- 7:49Speaker 2: this isn't just like talking about LSU specifically in this
- 7:53Speaker 2: one instance. We're talking about over the last five years
- 7:55Speaker 2: of college football.
- 7:56Speaker 3: What happens like the first time?
- 7:57Speaker 2: But they do have that in place.
- 7:58Speaker 3: You think a.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Coach at some point this season, there's going to be
- 8:02Speaker 4: a bad call on the field, like a personal foul,
- 8:05Speaker 4: maybe a late hit, maybe a pass interference.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Argument with a coach. Coach gets fired up. He's like,
- 8:11Speaker 4: I'm going to sue you. It was a bad rule.
- 8:14Speaker 3: You think that's going to happen?
- 8:16Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You should have put in your bold predictions yesterday if
- 8:18Speaker 2: you think it's going to happen.
- 8:20Speaker 3: It's true. I don't know if it's that bold.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Then that might be the norm. I'll sue you.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Oh, man. It is.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So, like, being in this seat and talking about this stuff,
- 8:37Speaker 2: and I'm going to, like, this is, I've said this before,
- 8:40Speaker 2: but if you're new here, because I know we've got
- 8:42Speaker 2: a lot of people that are probably new. This is
- 8:45Speaker 2: the main reason that I switched from college sports radio
- 8:49Speaker 2: on SiriusXM to NFL radio on SiriusXM. I got offered
- 8:54Speaker 2: the job, and sure, the NFL is the NFL, but
- 8:56Speaker 2: I said, oh, I'm going to have 32 teams. I'm
- 9:00Speaker 2: going to have one sport and rules.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 9:03Speaker 2: That you can follow, you can talk about, and you
- 9:05Speaker 2: can speak in absolutes. Nobody in this profession that covers
- 9:08Speaker 2: college athletics right now can speak in absolutes. I don't
- 9:11Speaker 2: think anybody can. You can act like you're the smartest
- 9:13Speaker 2: guy in the room, and you can act like you
- 9:14Speaker 2: can talk about things in absolutes, but you can't. Because
- 9:18Speaker 2: there's nothing that's in absolute. There's nothing. It's everything. It's,
- 9:24Speaker 2: I think, maybe, I've heard, they said, there's nothing right now.
- 9:29Speaker 2: And it's just, it goes into a courtroom and... I
- 9:33Speaker 2: don't know.
- 9:34Speaker 4: And you have, you know, tens of thousands of people
- 9:38Speaker 4: walking out there that think they have a law degree
- 9:40Speaker 4: and actually know what's going on when no one really does.
- 9:42Speaker 4: It's fun to speculate. It's fun to guess. It's fun
- 9:44Speaker 4: to have a conversation with your buddies and be like, well.
- 9:46Speaker 3: You know, they can't do this. They can do that.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Like nobody, there's people out there that know, of course,
- 9:52Speaker 4: but most people don't really know. I certainly don't know
- 9:55Speaker 4: what's going to happen. I don't know what happens if
- 9:58Speaker 4: they get a federal rule. in their favor, that city
- 10:01Speaker 4: gets a favorable ruling in their favor. Can they go
- 10:04Speaker 4: back and enforce their rules on what happened before the ruling? Like,
- 10:10Speaker 4: can Lane be punted? Like, there's so much out there.
- 10:13Speaker 4: And Pete said it on the call. Like, we don't
- 10:15Speaker 4: really know what they can do afterwards. There might be
- 10:20Speaker 4: someone listening out there that said, no, they can't go
- 10:21Speaker 4: back and enforce rules before the ruling, blah, blah, blah.
- 10:24Speaker 4: There's probably somebody else out there that's saying, no, they
- 10:27Speaker 4: actually can. So it's so intriguing. I don't even want
- 10:33Speaker 4: to use the word fascinating because that has a positive
- 10:38Speaker 4: connotation to me. Because this all, to me, is a
- 10:41Speaker 4: negative thing for college football. Not necessarily this specific case,
- 10:46Speaker 4: just the unknown, not having rules, not having a clear
- 10:53Speaker 4: league with attorneys making rules on the fly.
- 10:57Speaker 3: None of that's positive. I don't know if anybody can
- 10:59Speaker 3: think it's positive.
- 11:00Speaker 4: It's positive that LSU won the court case because everybody
- 11:03Speaker 4: wants LSU to win at everything.
- 11:07Speaker 3: But it's so intriguing.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Well, them winning it, too, I think it for the
- 11:11Speaker 2: moment feels like it protects you a little bit because
- 11:13Speaker 2: if you would have lost it and then you fight
- 11:15Speaker 2: it again i don't know but that's.
- 11:16Speaker 3: The thing that pete was saying does it you don't
- 11:18Speaker 3: really know if.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It does protect you and that's what i said for
- 11:21Speaker 2: the moment for.
- 11:22Speaker 4: The moment you don't know if it's going to protect
- 11:24Speaker 4: you i mean if you would have lost it then
- 11:26Speaker 4: you would have known right there okay we're not going
- 11:28Speaker 4: to put them on the roster then you got nothing
- 11:30Speaker 4: to worry about going forward i think you know i
- 11:33Speaker 4: think you gotta look over your shoulder a little bit
- 11:35Speaker 4: right now so you do have to be careful but Also, locally,
- 11:38Speaker 4: you're going to be held in contempt if you don't.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Roster these kids.
- 11:44Speaker 2: One thing I do want to kind of make sure
- 11:49Speaker 2: we know about the two players that we're talking about,
- 11:51Speaker 2: because I do keep seeing the same thing. And I'm
- 11:54Speaker 2: not even agreeing or disagreeing, but a lot of people,
- 11:58Speaker 2: LSU fans, but certainly nationally, like it's a juice worth
- 12:00Speaker 2: the squeeze. And they keep saying role players, role players.
- 12:03Speaker 2: For Daquan Wright, I do want to point out, that
- 12:07Speaker 2: he would have been your leading receiver last year. He
- 12:11Speaker 2: would have been LSU's leading receiver last year. He's a player. Now,
- 12:17Speaker 2: he might not be a pro player, like as far
- 12:19Speaker 2: as making the Eagles or the Browns roster, but I
- 12:23Speaker 2: don't think we can keep saying role player for him.
- 12:27Speaker 2: He's a player that, again, would have led your team
- 12:30Speaker 2: in receiving well.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Not hard to do.
- 12:33Speaker 2: It wasn't, but he had over 600 yards, and nobody
- 12:36Speaker 2: on your roster had over 600 yards. He didn't lead
- 12:39Speaker 2: Ole Miss, but he would have led your team. If
- 12:42Speaker 2: you don't remember who he is, he closed out the
- 12:46Speaker 2: game against you a year ago. He had 39 catches
- 12:51Speaker 2: for 635 yards and five touchdowns.
- 12:55Speaker 3: All right?
- 12:56Speaker 2: So remember that.
- 12:57Speaker 3: 39, 635. Got it?
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm going to write that down.
- 13:03Speaker 1: 39, 635.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And why am I going to keep repeating that? Because
- 13:06Speaker 2: then we're going to take what he did. Again, because
- 13:09Speaker 2: we keep hearing role player, role player, role player. I
- 13:12Speaker 2: think they have much bigger plans for Daquan Wright.
- 13:15Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Then you go to the other side of it. And look,
- 13:19Speaker 2: different coordinators. We're expecting more. I get all of that.
- 13:21Speaker 2: But I just want to lay this out. All right. So, Matt,
- 13:24Speaker 2: 39 catches, right?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 2: For Daquan? Oh, yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Trey Des Green had 33. Okay. How many yards for
- 13:29Speaker 2: Daquan Wright?
- 13:30Speaker 3: 635, sir.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Trey Desgreen had 433. So he's better. I didn't say
- 13:36Speaker 2: he was better, but I'm just telling you, everybody keeps
- 13:38Speaker 2: saying role player, role player, role player. Daquan Wright is
- 13:42Speaker 2: a dude in college football. Again, maybe he's not a pro.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Pros don't just release bad players, right? Jack Pyburn got
- 13:51Speaker 2: picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs, okay, because they
- 13:54Speaker 2: got him. Well, the Chiefs picked him up, and Jack
- 13:57Speaker 2: was the name before any other name. He was the
- 14:00Speaker 2: biggest name of all of this. And the Chiefs said,
- 14:03Speaker 2: he had how many sacks in the preseason? You're in
- 14:06Speaker 2: Kansas City. You're not going to Baton Rouge.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Right? Chiefs a little bit more self-confident than the Browns. Whatever.
- 14:12Speaker 2: It's still like no team likes distractions, but they also
- 14:16Speaker 2: like sacks. So they pick him up. I'm not talking
- 14:18Speaker 2: about what he can be down the future, but I
- 14:20Speaker 2: am telling you that he had 39 catches for over
- 14:23Speaker 2: 600 yards and five touchdowns, and Trey Des Green, who
- 14:26Speaker 2: we all think is going to have a monster year,
- 14:28Speaker 2: had 33 for 433 and seven touchdowns. He's a player.
- 14:33Speaker 4: And I brought that up about teams don't like distractions
- 14:36Speaker 4: because he might have got released not because of his skills,
- 14:41Speaker 4: not because he wasn't good enough. He might have got
- 14:44Speaker 4: released and not even got an opportunity because of this
- 14:47Speaker 4: court case. And you just made a counter-argument with the
- 14:51Speaker 4: Pieburn and the Chiefs, but not every team's the same, right?
- 14:56Speaker 4: The Browns might, could have released him because of the
- 14:59Speaker 4: whole distraction part, not because of the skill set.
- 15:02Speaker 2: He also wasn't on the field there. He had an
- 15:04Speaker 2: injury or whatever. Darius, your comment, that was last year.
- 15:07Speaker 2: He's not playing more than trade-ins. I didn't say that.
- 15:10Speaker 2: That's why you have to listen to the nitty-gritty of it.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I'm saying that he is a player that had more
- 15:15Speaker 2: catches and more yards than trade as did a year ago.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Trade as might end up being your best overall player
- 15:21Speaker 2: on your team. It's to say that a year ago
- 15:26Speaker 2: he had more. So to call him a role player,
- 15:29Speaker 2: I think because forget what's happening in the courtroom, whatever
- 15:33Speaker 2: for his actual skillset, I want to pay respect to
- 15:35Speaker 2: what it is. And he had more catches and more yards.
- 15:38Speaker 2: That's my point. He can be much more than just
- 15:40Speaker 2: a role player. But he keeps getting thrown into that group.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And just from the player perspective, I want to make
- 15:45Speaker 2: sure we mention he's not just that.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah. But it still begs the question, is the juice
- 15:54Speaker 3: worth the squeeze?
- 15:57Speaker 4: And I don't have a great answer for that. I
- 16:01Speaker 4: think common knee-jerk reaction would be no, it's not.
- 16:06Speaker 3: And I think most people understand that.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I think most of the fan base is saying it's
- 16:09Speaker 4: just more of a principal battle it's not even really
- 16:12Speaker 4: our other teams are doing it it's it's more i'm
- 16:14Speaker 4: just saying i'm not even justifying it but i'm saying
- 16:17Speaker 4: it is disrespectful to how good he was a year
- 16:20Speaker 4: ago is my whole point and so like the coaching
- 16:23Speaker 4: staff who was with him last year saw him make
- 16:25Speaker 4: those plays in their mind they're fighting for way more
- 16:28Speaker 4: than a role player that's the only part i'm trying
- 16:31Speaker 4: to make sure that we we mentioned yeah and i
- 16:36Speaker 4: was not i knew he was um very productive.
- 16:42Speaker 3: But I'm glad we put some stats to it.
- 16:43Speaker 4: So it kind of does paint the picture of exactly
- 16:45Speaker 4: what type of player you are getting. Assuming fully healthy
- 16:50Speaker 4: right now. But still, I have a hard time believing
- 16:51Speaker 4: he's going to make too much of an impact in
- 16:54Speaker 4: week one in this first game versus Clemson. But I
- 16:58Speaker 4: would assume that he's going to make an impact at
- 17:01Speaker 4: some point during the season in a very positive way.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yes. Yes. And then Any better.
- 17:11Speaker 3: He's a Peru football player.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Oh, God. On that note, we'll step away. More OTB
- 17:17Speaker 2: when we come back here live from Rouse's.

- 18:58Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the

- 19:04Speaker 5: The next room, sometimes I wish she weren't you.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I guess we never really moved on.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It's really good to hear your voice.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Saying my name.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It sounds so sweet.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Coming from the lips of an angel.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Hearing those words, it makes me weak.
- 19:33Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from Rouse's
- 19:37Speaker 2: on a football Friday. Want to remind you about our
- 19:40Speaker 2: friends over at Bayou Automotive. BayouAutomotive.com is the website. Go
- 19:44Speaker 2: there today, buy your vehicle online, or make the short
- 19:48Speaker 2: drive down to La Paz, Louisiana. Go see what they

- 19:54Speaker 2: got the Black Widow packages available in multiple different vehicles.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I've had the Jeep. I've had the F-150. You'll be
- 20:01Speaker 2: blown away at the Black Widow as well. Go to BayouAutomotive.com.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I know you really want to talk about Hinder there
- 20:07Speaker 2: as well.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you let that list of an angel breathe, buddy. Hey,
- 20:14Speaker 4: have you been following... I might have a record. An
- 20:18Speaker 4: absolute record. I might have the fastest correct bold prediction
- 20:23Speaker 4: in the history of bold predictions.
- 20:25Speaker 2: On which one?
- 20:25Speaker 3: When yesterday I.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Said one of my bold predictions for the college football
- 20:29Speaker 4: season was that UNC and Bill Belichick would mutually part
- 20:33Speaker 4: ways at some point during the season. Have you been
- 20:37Speaker 4: following what's happening over there at North Carolina?
- 20:39Speaker 2: I have not, actually.
- 20:41Speaker 3: It's pretty unbelievable.
- 20:43Speaker 4: General Manager Mike Lombardi resigned yesterday after spending more than
- 20:48Speaker 4: a month on paid administrative leave to admit an investigation
- 20:51Speaker 4: stemming from a personnel complaint. But the investigation now has
- 20:58Speaker 4: widened to the entire football program. Investigators are now reportedly
- 21:02Speaker 4: asking about allegations that Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick used drugs
- 21:08Speaker 4: on the job and or provided drugs to at least
- 21:11Speaker 4: one North Carolina football player. A member of UNC's recruiting
- 21:14Speaker 4: staff had a sexual relationship with a player. Assistant coaches
- 21:19Speaker 4: may have had sexual relationships with members of the recruiting staff.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Steve Belichick has been on an undisclosed medical leave since
- 21:29Speaker 4: August 6th. UNC says the investigation remains ongoing and will
- 21:35Speaker 4: consider all appropriate corrective actions based on what it learns.
- 21:39Speaker 3: A lot happening. So crazy to me.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Outside of that.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Outside of that, everything's going fine. They're 1-0.
- 21:46Speaker 2: They did win a game.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Winning cures all, right? No, I don't think that's the
- 21:51Speaker 3: case here.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Sounds pretty serious. GM has had to step down. Been
- 21:55Speaker 4: out for a while. A lot of issues and, you know.
- 22:00Speaker 4: situations just kind of tend to follow Belichick around a
- 22:03Speaker 4: little bit here and there and it's not good over
- 22:07Speaker 4: there anyway thought I'd just bring that up and it's
- 22:10Speaker 4: kind of shocking and surprising you know that clip of
- 22:14Speaker 4: Steve Belichick on the sideline like kind of looking crazy
- 22:17Speaker 4: like he's got some performance enhancing drugs in him they
- 22:20Speaker 4: might not be prescribed.
- 22:23Speaker 2: So your bold prediction was that Belichick and North Carolina
- 22:27Speaker 2: part ways.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Right Mutually part ways. I don't know.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Well, based on this, based on these allegations, if things
- 22:34Speaker 4: do not go real well for him and his staff,
- 22:38Speaker 4: it might not be mutual.
- 22:39Speaker 2: All right.
- 22:42Speaker 4: But usually, even if you get fired, the guy with
- 22:46Speaker 4: the respect that Belichick has, known as the greatest NFL
- 22:49Speaker 4: coach of all time, usually that's the respect that we're
- 22:52Speaker 4: going to mutually part ways instead of, hey, you're fired.
- 22:56Speaker 3: But, you know, we'll see.
- 22:58Speaker 4: So it shocked me that his son, the one that
- 23:00Speaker 4: looks like licking the air on the sideline, is on drugs.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 23:07Speaker 2: This will be a great case study, I guess, of
- 23:11Speaker 2: does winning cure everything? Because they actually did look good
- 23:17Speaker 2: in their game in Ireland.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Did they look good? I mean, they did. I don't know.
- 23:20Speaker 3: TCL was pretty bad.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Do you remember watching them?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Do you remember watching them? This guy apparently was on drugs.
- 23:26Speaker 2: There's no chance.
- 23:27Speaker 3: No shot.
- 23:29Speaker 2: That mullet what do you think he tells the barber
- 23:31Speaker 2: when he sits down party.
- 23:32Speaker 3: In the front no party in the back business in
- 23:37Speaker 3: the front.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Or he just says hey as sarcastic of a haircut
- 23:44Speaker 4: as you can bud.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah that's um that's a telltale sign.
- 23:55Speaker 3: That's a telltale sign if you've not seen the.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Video so We did have some actual football last night,
- 24:01Speaker 2: Georgia Tech in Colorado. Boy, was that a rock fight.
- 24:05Speaker 3: My God.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Man, that was a rough watch. Man, Georgia Tech last year,
- 24:09Speaker 2: they were fun to watch, and they were gritty, and
- 24:14Speaker 2: they were executing stuff, well-coached. Man, oh, man, do we
- 24:19Speaker 2: realize how important Haynes King is to a football team.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Man, it does.
- 24:22Speaker 4: And how important an established leader quarterback is for a
- 24:27Speaker 4: team that might not be the most, like, top to bottom, like, talented. Well,
- 24:33Speaker 4: Little Mendoza did play pretty good, though. He had some
- 24:38Speaker 4: moments where he made some really nice throws, nice plays.
- 24:41Speaker 4: The supporting cast around him wasn't the best. But it
- 24:46Speaker 4: was like the definition of a first game of the
- 24:48Speaker 4: season for both those teams.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Now, I will say this. Both teams' uniforms looked really good.
- 24:56Speaker 4: I liked the all-whites for Georgia Tech, and I liked
- 24:59Speaker 4: the shiny gold face masks for Colorado.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Both of the uniforms looked very good.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Every TV that I kept going to, and I told
- 25:05Speaker 2: you this last night, every TV I kept going to
- 25:07Speaker 2: was green. The gold was green. It had like a
- 25:09Speaker 2: green hue to it.
- 25:11Speaker 3: That's not good. That'll change the filters, bud.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Not mine. Not the Flynn household. It was nice.
- 25:17Speaker 4: And the uniforms looked very good. But the football looked
- 25:22Speaker 4: very bad.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Yes, it did.
- 25:24Speaker 3: It did not look good. A lot of running.
- 25:26Speaker 4: You could tell that both teams did not completely trust
- 25:30Speaker 4: their young quarterbacks to go win a game. There was
- 25:33Speaker 4: lots of third and threes, third and fours where it
- 25:36Speaker 4: was a handoff. And I get it in this day
- 25:38Speaker 4: and age. Yeah, sometimes you see that now because you're
- 25:41Speaker 4: going to go for it on fourth down a little
- 25:42Speaker 4: bit more than you used to. But there was multiple
- 25:45Speaker 4: drives that were ended because of a no-yard run.
- 25:50Speaker 3: But there was a lot of runs.
- 25:52Speaker 4: I think there was a drive at the end of
- 25:53Speaker 4: the game for Colorado to try to go win it.
- 25:56Speaker 4: I think there was like 16 or 17 runs in
- 25:59Speaker 4: a row or something like that.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Heck, yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I mean, it was your type of football, except they
- 26:04Speaker 4: were all clap counting and then the shotgun running. It
- 26:06Speaker 4: wasn't like good runs. But the running backs, they had
- 26:11Speaker 4: a game. Georgia Tech looked like the dominant team early on.
- 26:14Speaker 4: They were physical. They just kept getting stopped. They couldn't
- 26:17Speaker 4: execute in the red zone. And then I think there
- 26:19Speaker 4: was two blocked field goals. Oh, I was so excited.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Georgia Tech did the thing that we talk about sometimes.
- 26:24Speaker 4: They put a really tall guy on field goal block,
- 26:27Speaker 4: and they blocked it. A guy that was 6'9. We
- 26:30Speaker 4: always talk about that. Get the tallest guy in the world,
- 26:32Speaker 4: just put him on field goal block. And they did that,
- 26:34Speaker 4: and he blocked it.
- 26:35Speaker 3: It was great.
- 26:37Speaker 4: There was a shank, a field goal shank, a couple
- 26:39Speaker 4: of field goal blocks. There was a great block by
- 26:42Speaker 4: Colorado at the end. Georgia Tech had set up. Yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 4: got timed it up perfectly. Yeah, but Desiree made a
- 26:47Speaker 4: nice throw with like 30 seconds.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Left in the game, 30-ish, and hit a seam route.
- 26:53Speaker 3: They get down to field goal range.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I didn't like the game, the clock management by Georgia
- 26:58Speaker 4: Tech at the end. I think there was about 17
- 27:00Speaker 4: or 18 seconds left with a timeout. I believe it
- 27:04Speaker 4: was second down, and they decide to run it, For
- 27:08Speaker 4: no yards, or maybe one or two yards or whatever,
- 27:11Speaker 4: to set up a 45-yard field goal.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Didn't love that.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Because they run the clock down, they take a timeout
- 27:18Speaker 4: with three or four seconds left. They should have thrown
- 27:20Speaker 4: it at least to get it to, at least to
- 27:23Speaker 4: try to pick up five, six, seven more yards, something
- 27:26Speaker 4: like that. I did not like the, with the timeout,
- 27:29Speaker 4: I did not like the decision to run it with
- 27:32Speaker 4: 17 or 18 seconds left. I think that was poor
- 27:34Speaker 4: clock management, and they should be held accountable.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 2: And they lose the game.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Steve Belichick.
- 27:39Speaker 2: 14-13. Utah beat Idaho 66-14. Missouri beat Arkansas Pine Bluff 54-14.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Let's see. UCF beat Bethune-Cookman 73-6. Wake Forest takes care
- 27:47Speaker 2: of Akron 38-16. You had, let's see. Oh, Rutgers. Oh, Rutgers.
- 27:51Speaker 2: You lose to UMass. 37 to 21 umass gets their
- 28:07Speaker 2: first victory over a power four opponent since 1978 uh.
- 28:13Speaker 4: Umass quarterback looked really good he did he made very
- 28:17Speaker 4: accurate made a lot of plays outside the pocket um
- 28:21Speaker 4: i guess probably pretty surprising that the quarterback for umass
- 28:24Speaker 4: goes out there and plays like that but he made
- 28:27Speaker 4: some legit plays it was fun to watch Now, of course, I.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Didn't watch it. I saw the highlights, but the highlights
- 28:32Speaker 3: were real nice.
- 28:33Speaker 2: If you did a deep dive into UMass and Rutgers,
- 28:36Speaker 2: there is a number I can have for you so
- 28:39Speaker 2: you can call said number.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I have not broken down that film just yet.
- 28:44Speaker 4: It looks like it was really nice.
- 28:49Speaker 2: He did play really well, though.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 28:50Speaker 4: I mean, to be able to, for UMass to be
- 28:54Speaker 4: able to beat Rutgers, you're probably going.
- 28:56Speaker 3: To have to have good quarterback play.
- 28:58Speaker 2: All right, we will go across kind of the SEC,
- 29:00Speaker 2: look at the SEC slate of games, of course, including
- 29:03Speaker 2: the LSU and Clemson game, kind of give you the lines,
- 29:06Speaker 2: give you some of these storylines and what we expect
- 29:08Speaker 2: to see in those games, and we'll do it when
- 29:10Speaker 2: we come back here on OTB.

- 30:31Speaker 1: Hester and Matt Flynn. I said, where you been?
- 30:36Speaker 3: He said, ask anything.
- 30:41Speaker 5: Where were you when everything was falling apart?
- 30:47Speaker 3: Oh, my.
- 31:22Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from Rouse's,

- 31:59Speaker 2: was incredible. The Chick-fil-A is paying off, I guess. I
- 32:02Speaker 2: don't know.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 4: We're talking hormone replacement therapy. A little HRT, if you've
- 32:07Speaker 4: heard those letters put together.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Well, they're.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Louisiana's leader for the last over 10 years. They've been
- 32:12Speaker 4: at hormone replacement therapy. Louisiana's leader. They also got the

- 32:32Speaker 4: Just go have the conversation. They might look at those
- 32:34Speaker 4: labs and say, hey, dude, you're great. Your hormones are great.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Everything's looking good. Or they might have a fix, and
- 32:40Speaker 4: everything's going to be medically supervised again. I told you
- 32:43Speaker 4: I took my labs again, my yearly labs last week,
- 32:46Speaker 4: just to make sure.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Everything's good and nothing needs to be changed. So I
- 32:51Speaker 3: feel great. I feel beautiful. Except for the back. It
- 32:54Speaker 3: still hurts a little bit.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That's because you're hard-headed. That has nothing to do with RejuveMe.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Don't blame that on them.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Ricky Bobby. RejuveMeMedical.com.
- 33:01Speaker 2: All right, let's go to some of the scorelines that
- 33:05Speaker 2: we've already seen in the SEC. As we mentioned, Missouri 54,
- 33:08Speaker 2: Arkansas Pine Bluff 14. But then let's also look at
- 33:12Speaker 2: what's coming up in the SEC tonight. You've got Oklahoma
- 33:16Speaker 2: hosting UTEP. Now, Oklahoma is a 40.5-point favorite, so watch
- 33:21Speaker 2: that if you dare.
- 33:23Speaker 3: You know what I found interesting? on that.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Like, so they're 40 and a half point favorite. Um,
- 33:30Speaker 4: there is Georgia's 46 and a half point favorite versus
- 33:35Speaker 4: like Tennessee state. So you have all these people playing
- 33:37Speaker 4: directional school, you right.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Uh, sec, these, the.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Top, top, top teams in the conference, top teams in
- 33:43Speaker 4: the country and the lines about 40 to 45.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Good.
- 33:47Speaker 4: It was interesting to me. And I don't know if
- 33:49Speaker 4: Texas state has like a pretty strong squad. They're, Texas
- 33:54Speaker 4: is a 29-point favorite over Texas State. Texas State is
- 33:58Speaker 4: not a bad football team.
- 33:59Speaker 3: No, not at all. Matthew. Yes. Oh, boy.
- 34:05Speaker 2: What conference does Texas State play football in?
- 34:07Speaker 3: I feel like it's a better one than it used
- 34:16Speaker 3: to be. I'm going to say What conference? Oh, God. Sunbelt.
- 34:26Speaker 2: They play in the Pac-12. True story.
- 34:32Speaker 3: From San Marcos, Texas?
- 34:35Speaker 2: They play in the Pac-12.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Pacific Ocean is not that far away.
- 34:41Speaker 3: That's a really good point. Yeah. If you go through Mexico,
- 34:44Speaker 3: it's not very far. True. It's a little further to
- 34:48Speaker 3: get there from the U.S.
- 34:49Speaker 2: That's actually a pretty solid point by you.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Thank you. Hmm. That's really the only type of points
- 34:54Speaker 3: that I make.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yep. Solid ones. That's what they were thinking. Yeah, but.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you can get there pretty quick. Go to Cabo.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Here is the first game on Saturday for the SEC.
- 35:08Speaker 2: We'll go through the slate here. It is Alabama hosting
- 35:10Speaker 2: East Carolina. Alabama, 27 and a half point favorite. South
- 35:14Speaker 2: Carolina hosting Kent State. South Carolina, 35 and a half
- 35:18Speaker 2: point favorite. Kentucky hosting Youngstown State. Kentucky a 22.5-point favorite.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Georgia hosting Tennessee State. Georgia, 46.5-point favorite. Texas hosting Texas State.
- 35:31Speaker 2: You mentioned it, 29.5-point favorite. Tennessee hosting Furman. Tennessee's a 47.5-point favorite.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And then you've got Arkansas, who's hosting North Alabama. who
- 35:44Speaker 2: is a 40.5-point favorite. You've got Texas A & M
- 35:48Speaker 2: hosting Missouri State. They're a 40.5-point favorite. You've got Vanderbilt
- 35:53Speaker 2: hosting Austin Peay. They are a 29.5-point favorite. You've got
- 35:58Speaker 2: Mississippi State hosting Louisiana Monroe. Mississippi State, a 28.5-point favorite.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Florida hosting Florida Atlantic, a 26.5-point favorite. Then you do
- 36:09Speaker 2: have one other actual real football game, Baylor and Auburn.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Auburn right now, this game's in Atlanta, a seven and
- 36:16Speaker 2: a half point favorite. And then you've got LSU Clemson
- 36:20Speaker 2: in Death Valley, LSU a 10 point favorite. So you
- 36:23Speaker 2: have one game outside of the Sunday night game, which
- 36:29Speaker 2: is going to be Louisville and Ole Miss. That game's
- 36:32Speaker 2: going to be in Nashville. So one game on Saturday
- 36:35Speaker 2: involving an SEC team that is going to be a
- 36:38Speaker 2: single-digit line. Everything else is at least double digits, and
- 36:41Speaker 2: everything else is pretty much 40-plus. That is not a
- 36:44Speaker 2: banner slate.
- 36:46Speaker 3: It is not a banner slate. But you know what?
- 36:48Speaker 3: There are a couple of good games, of course, this weekend.
- 36:52Speaker 4: And that's really all that matters because it's the first
- 36:55Speaker 4: week of college football.
- 36:56Speaker 3: So, you know, as long as we get a couple. And, look,
- 37:00Speaker 3: I'm really looking forward to the Baylor-Auburn game.
- 37:02Speaker 4: I know I grew up a Baylor fan, so I'm
- 37:03Speaker 4: a little bit biased towards that. But I think it's
- 37:06Speaker 4: going to be a really good football game. Now, is
- 37:10Speaker 4: it going to be perfectly executed? No, I think this
- 37:13Speaker 4: is the week that you're going to see a lot
- 37:14Speaker 4: of sloppy play just from every team. You're going to
- 37:16Speaker 4: see mistakes made by LSU and Clemson this week. But
- 37:20Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to that game. I think it's going
- 37:22Speaker 4: to be a good game. What is it, six and
- 37:24Speaker 4: a half, seven, seven point spread?
- 37:27Speaker 3: Auburn Baylor.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Seven and a half.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Seven and a half.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Auburn's favorite.
- 37:31Speaker 3: I'm going to probably pick Baylor to win that game.
- 37:35Speaker 3: For what reason? I don't really know. You're going to.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Pick who to win that game?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Baylor.
- 37:40Speaker 2: And you don't know the reason?
- 37:41Speaker 3: Sick them.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Because you're biased.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Because they're going to sick them.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Because your father played quarterback at Baylor.
- 37:45Speaker 3: They're going to sick them.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Don't act all brand new over there.
- 37:47Speaker 3: DJ Lagway might win the Heisman this year. Who knows? Actually,
- 37:53Speaker 3: do you think he's going to have a bounce back year?
- 37:56Speaker 5: No.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Why not?
- 37:59Speaker 2: Because I've seen him play. No, that old coach for
- 38:02Speaker 2: Florida wasn't very good. It would be some heavy lifting.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 2: For DJ Lagway to be a good quarterback.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:14Speaker 2: He threw five picks the last time I saw him
- 38:16Speaker 2: play in person.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Did you see the tweets yesterday? It was pretty funny.
- 38:22Speaker 4: I guess his mom was quoted, DJ Lagway's mom was quoted,
- 38:25Speaker 4: like there was a text conversation between him and his mother.
- 38:28Speaker 4: You know, talking about, you know, trying to encourage her son, saying,
- 38:31Speaker 4: you know, the Lord's always with you. God's like, it's
- 38:36Speaker 4: in God's hand. Like, we're trusting him. Like, we do
- 38:39Speaker 4: in all things, in all life. And he's like, man,
- 38:41Speaker 4: I kind of feel like, and you go through a
- 38:42Speaker 4: hard time. Like, I feel like I'm forgotten right now.
- 38:46Speaker 2: There was a.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Guy that tweeted.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Wait, wait.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I'm blanking on the coach's name.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Billy Napier.
- 38:53Speaker 3: He said, Napier was so bad at Florida. It made
- 38:56Speaker 3: this man think.
- 38:58Speaker 2: God just forgot about him.
- 39:00Speaker 3: He was so bad as a coach in Florida.
- 39:02Speaker 2: He thought the Lord forsaken him because of, oh, my God.
- 39:05Speaker 4: Because of how bad they were. I'm cheering for him.
- 39:08Speaker 4: I'm cheering for Aranda. You know, I don't know how long.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I'm not cheering for Auburn. I don't know how.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Long Aranda can make it as the Baylor coach.
- 39:17Speaker 3: If they don't.
- 39:17Speaker 2: He's on life support right now.
- 39:19Speaker 3: They've got to do something, right?
- 39:21Speaker 4: And he's such a good human and a good leader
- 39:23Speaker 4: of men like that.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:25Speaker 4: They just it just have not it has not quantified
- 39:29Speaker 4: in the win-loss column and it has to at some
- 39:31Speaker 4: point that's the reason why he has a job because
- 39:33Speaker 4: he is such a good person uh but i would
- 39:36Speaker 4: uh i would love to see dj lagway it's he
- 39:37Speaker 4: seems like a really good kid um certainly has not
- 39:40Speaker 4: had the success i feel like he's one of these
- 39:42Speaker 4: guys that was really young and in like his body
- 39:45Speaker 4: was like grew but His body was not ready for
- 39:48Speaker 4: it to grow so much.
- 39:49Speaker 3: You saw him. We saw him at SEC media days.
- 39:51Speaker 3: It's like, wow, that guy looks the part.
- 39:53Speaker 2: He's listed at 6'3, and we're like, hey, bud, you're
- 39:55Speaker 2: like 6'5.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 4: He's like, dude, just keep growing. And he kept having, like,
- 39:58Speaker 4: all these soft tissues. I think his body just probably
- 40:00Speaker 4: grew too fast. He wasn't growing into his body yet.
- 40:02Speaker 4: And hopefully he has a little.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Bit of turnaround.
- 40:04Speaker 4: And then we don't know what Auburn's going to be.
- 40:06Speaker 4: There's a lot of excitement, I think, in that program.
- 40:08Speaker 4: I think, was it Alondra that said that they might
- 40:12Speaker 4: be a team to watch that's going to overachieve this year?
- 40:16Speaker 2: We went through this exercise last week.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Maybe not. Maybe I'm misspeaking. For Auburn? Yeah.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Oh, there you go.
- 40:24Speaker 2: There you go.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Look at me.
- 40:25Speaker 2: You remembered it.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Like an elephant.
- 40:31Speaker 2: How impressed are you that I just hit the right button?
- 40:33Speaker 3: You did. Was it a guess? Yes.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Was it this one? No, I turned it off. You
- 40:37Speaker 2: think I'm going to let you touch these buttons? Absolutely not.
- 40:41Speaker 2: All right, when we come back, let's get a little
- 40:44Speaker 2: breakdown of Louisville and Ole Miss. We talked about the
- 40:47Speaker 2: other games in the SEC. There's a nothing burger there.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Every point spread is like seven touchdowns, but one that
- 40:53Speaker 2: we're highly intrigued by. And, of course, we'll break down
- 40:56Speaker 2: LSU-Clemson before we get out of here today. But let's
- 40:58Speaker 2: look at Louisville and Ole Miss. We're going to have
- 41:00Speaker 2: the pontoon parlay. We're going to have what's the ticket.
- 41:03Speaker 2: We'll have a final breakdown of LSU and Clemson. All
- 41:05Speaker 2: still coming your way. Stay locked in here to OTB.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Hey, Matt, if you were to jump into a pool,
- 41:13Speaker 2: what would you say?
- 41:15Speaker 3: I'd probably say something like cannonball.
- 41:18Speaker 2: That's right. RussellPools.com is the website. Russell Pool Company been
- 41:22Speaker 2: in the game since the 1960s here. in South Louisiana.
- 41:26Speaker 2: And look, if you live here, you know we've got
- 41:27Speaker 2: harsh conditions. It can be hotter than hot, hotter than
- 41:30Speaker 2: the devil's lair. And sometimes that can affect some of
- 41:33Speaker 2: the things you have outside, but not when it's built
- 41:35Speaker 2: by Russell Pools.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Why?
- 41:36Speaker 2: Because they've been here so long. They know the conditions.
- 41:39Speaker 2: They know how to build a pool that is going
- 41:41Speaker 2: to stand the test of time. It's going to be
- 41:43Speaker 2: a custom pool. It's going to be your design. It
- 41:45Speaker 2: is going to blow you away every single time. Go
- 41:47Speaker 2: to RussellPools.com.
- 41:48Speaker 3: That's right. RussellPools, RussellPools.com.
- 41:50Speaker 4: The name you think of when you think of the
- 41:52Speaker 4: highest quality custom pools in all of Louisiana. Chris Anderson
- 41:55Speaker 4: and his team have been doing it a long time
- 41:57Speaker 4: and they've been doing it the right way.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Two landscape architects on staff.
- 42:00Speaker 4: So if you have a dream, if you have a
- 42:02Speaker 4: design in your head, if there's something that you want
- 42:04Speaker 4: to do, heck, you can go to RussellPools.com and see
- 42:05Speaker 4: their gallery of work. They can draw it, they can
- 42:08Speaker 4: design it, they can engineer it, build it, maintain it,
- 42:10Speaker 4: everything right over there.
- 42:11Speaker 3: RussellPools.com.
- 42:32Speaker 5: There's many things I wish I didn't do. But I
- 42:38Speaker 5: continue learning. I never meant to do those things to you.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is Off The Bench.
- 42:57Speaker 4: All right, welcome back here. Off the bench, closing out
- 43:02Speaker 4: hour number two on a football Friday live from Rouse's.
- 43:05Speaker 4: I want to tell you about our good friends over
- 43:07Speaker 4: at Cateris. When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy.
- 43:10Speaker 4: And one company to help and shape the future is Cateris.
- 43:13Speaker 4: Cateris developing the Commonwealth LNG export facility over there in
- 43:15Speaker 4: Cameron Parish, connecting American natural gas with customers around the world. Now,
- 43:20Speaker 4: under construction, after reaching its final investment decision in 2026,
- 43:23Speaker 4: the project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future. But
- 43:27Speaker 4: it's about more than just exporting that energy. It's about
- 43:29Speaker 4: creating Louisiana jobs, supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and reinforcing
- 43:34Speaker 4: Louisiana's position as one of the world's leading energy hubs.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Through that natural gas production and the Commonwealth Project over.
- 43:42Speaker 3: LNG project.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Catalyst is helping build an integrated energy platform that connects
- 43:46Speaker 4: domestic resources with the growing global demands. Construction continues on
- 43:50Speaker 4: Louisiana's Gulf Coast. Catalyst is proud to invest in American energy,
- 43:54Speaker 4: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Catalyst, connecting Louisiana
- 43:58Speaker 4: energy to the world.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Louisville.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Ole Miss.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Louisville.
- 44:05Speaker 2: In Nashville. It's going to be a good game.
- 44:09Speaker 3: It's going to be a very good game.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Look, I'm not saying Ole Miss is going to outright lose,
- 44:14Speaker 2: but I'm just telling you it feels like a four-quarter game.
- 44:17Speaker 3: What's the line again?
- 44:18Speaker 2: Six and a half. It's gone down. I think there
- 44:22Speaker 2: was a seven and a half at one point. It's
- 44:24Speaker 2: now down to six and a half. And this isn't
- 44:26Speaker 2: like an Ole Miss slander type situation. Of course, the
- 44:30Speaker 2: LSU guys are talking about Ole Miss. This is actually
- 44:32Speaker 2: me giving a lot of love to Louisville. I think
- 44:34Speaker 2: they're a good football team. And I think they're going
- 44:36Speaker 2: to be in this game. I think it being a
- 44:38Speaker 2: neutral site game helps them. Ole Miss is going to
- 44:40Speaker 2: have the crowd, but it's not going to be like
- 44:42Speaker 2: it's played in Oxford. They've got a lot of new
- 44:44Speaker 2: pieces on that Louisville team. They're going to have five
- 44:47Speaker 2: starters on defense through the portal, and they're going to
- 44:50Speaker 2: have eight, I believe, on offense. But the thing to
- 44:54Speaker 2: pay attention to, like I told you yesterday, Isaac Brown
- 44:57Speaker 2: at running back for Louisville, he is a dog, and
- 45:00Speaker 2: he is going to get his And it all comes
- 45:02Speaker 2: down to some of the other stuff. Obviously, you've got
- 45:05Speaker 2: a new quarterback in there. You're going to have a
- 45:07Speaker 2: lot of new receivers. But I'm a big fan of
- 45:09Speaker 2: Jeff Braum and how he can put together an offense.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Brian Braum, one of your teammates, is the OC there,
- 45:14Speaker 2: his brother. It's going to be a game. It's going
- 45:17Speaker 2: to have some points, I think. I think it's going
- 45:19Speaker 2: to have a little bit of a shootout feel. I
- 45:21Speaker 2: think Ole Miss probably has the ball and scores, and
- 45:25Speaker 2: maybe they score with five minutes left and it's a
- 45:28Speaker 2: big defensive stop. I do think Ole Miss wins the game, probably,
- 45:31Speaker 2: but it's going to be a four-quarter game.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's going to take their full attention to win
- 45:36Speaker 4: that football game.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I think so.
- 45:37Speaker 4: And I keep saying this because it was a little
- 45:39Speaker 4: bit of shock to me when I saw it at first,
- 45:41Speaker 4: and I keep saying this for– The people listening and
- 45:44Speaker 4: LSU fans thinking about, okay, LSU-Clemson, big game, big game,
- 45:48Speaker 4: big game. You could argue that Ole Miss-Louisville is a
- 45:52Speaker 4: bigger game than LSU-Clemson because we talked about the odds.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Clemson has the fifth lowest odds to win the ACC.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Louisville has the third. Louisville's plus 800 to win the ACC.
- 46:06Speaker 4: Louisville plus 1450. So they almost have double odds. You're
- 46:10Speaker 4: talking about Clemson. You said Louisville twice.
- 46:12Speaker 2: So Louisville has the better odds, and then Clemson's plus 1450.
- 46:16Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Clemson has plus 1450. So on paper, the
- 46:20Speaker 4: people think preseason, Louisville is a better football team than Clemson.
- 46:24Speaker 3: So Ole Miss, got your hands full.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Lincoln Keels, their quarterback, coming over from Ohio State, a
- 46:30Speaker 2: very highly, highly touted guy out of high school. All right,
- 46:34Speaker 2: we'll step away. More coming your way here, hour number three.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Off the bench.
