SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Becoming Saians, a Dragon Ball Rewatch podcast.
0:06
SPEAKER_00: And we're back.
0:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm Truman.
0:08
SPEAKER_00: And I'm Jesse.
0:09
SPEAKER_00: And this is Becoming Saiyans, a Dragon Ball Rewatch Podcast.
0:12
SPEAKER_00: On today's episode, we watched episodes 100 and 101, titled The Spirit Cannon and the Fallen.
0:24
SPEAKER_00: And coming out, uh, the Spirit Cannon debuted in uh Japan on February 10th, 1988, and in America on December 30th, 2002.
0:35
SPEAKER_00: Whereas The Fallen came out February 17th, 1988, and December 31st, 2002.
0:42
SPEAKER_00: So New Year's Eve, we are watching this episode.
0:45
SPEAKER_01: That'd be a pretty good New Year's Eve, Kate Live.
0:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
0:48
SPEAKER_00: Jumping into differences from the manga and trivia, at least for the first episode.
0:52
SPEAKER_00: Yamcha, Bulma, Puar, all on, yada yada, they're all at the hospital listening on the radio.
0:58
SPEAKER_01: As we've kind of explained, just know that they're not here for the entirety of the arc after he broke his leg.
1:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:07
SPEAKER_00: In the manga, go uh Tien's able to get Goku with the forearms and grab him after catching him off guard.
1:14
SPEAKER_00: In the anime, Goku has a whole bunch of other stuff that happens, and uh Tien sees an aerial kit coming for before Tien grabs him.
1:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:22
SPEAKER_00: Like in the manga.
1:24
SPEAKER_00: Tien only headbuts Goku once in the manga, whereas he does it five times here.
1:28
SPEAKER_00: Similarly, Goku waxes tail only once, where he does it eight times here.
1:32
SPEAKER_00: In the manga, Roshi explains that Goku's multi-arm technique is just the boy using his speed to make it appear he has eight arms.
1:39
SPEAKER_00: The anime doesn't include that.
1:41
SPEAKER_00: The huge clash between Goku and Tien that ends up knocking them both out, with the announcer, with the announcer almost reaching the 10 count, isn't in the manga.
1:50
SPEAKER_00: Roshi's flashback about he and Goku ended up in a similar uh situation was also just added.
1:56
SPEAKER_00: Tien retracts his extra arms in the manga of his own volition, seeing that it was a waste of energy.
2:02
SPEAKER_00: In the anime, they retract his Tien breaks concentration after attempting to strangle Goku while also being in a submission.
2:10
SPEAKER_00: During the grabbing scene, which wasn't in the manga, the announcer comes up to Tien and um asks in the Japanese version if he wants to give up, only for Tien to uh to refuse.
2:21
SPEAKER_00: Chiyatsu attempts to aid, but also gets yelled at.
2:24
SPEAKER_00: When Chiyatsu tries to get Tien to not use the triboom, only for Tien to say he won't die.
2:29
SPEAKER_00: They they use telepathy to communicate this, but in the manga they use regular speech.
2:35
SPEAKER_00: Um Trivia.
2:37
SPEAKER_00: This episode is the 100th episode of Dragon Ball.
2:40
SPEAKER_00: Um launches back with the group despite having been knocked out uh all the way across the tournament grounds by Shin in the other episode, and it's never explained how she got back.
2:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I picked up on that, but I didn't care because it's fun to have launch back.
2:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
2:53
SPEAKER_00: And then jump into the next episode, we have Differences from the manga.
2:57
SPEAKER_00: Guess what the other one is?
2:59
SPEAKER_00: Yamcha, Bulma, Launchpoo, aren't there, they're listening over a radio.
3:03
SPEAKER_00: Which means that they the scene where they hear Goku is falling to the ground is moved from them hearing it to them witnessing it.
3:09
SPEAKER_02: Yep.
3:10
SPEAKER_00: Uh the anime pr uh presents the conclusion of the tournament with the gang and the rest of the spectators go into the spot where they where both of the fighters fell, congratulating them.
3:20
SPEAKER_00: Uh Roshi uses his telepathy to tell Tien that like this is what it means to be adored instead of hated, and then they both get lifted up and taken off while Yamcha initiates an applause.
3:30
SPEAKER_00: None of that happened in the manga.
3:33
SPEAKER_00: Krillin's death is presented quite differently.
3:35
SPEAKER_00: In the manga, they all hear Krillin scream while still on tournament grounds and rush to his aid.
3:40
SPEAKER_00: Here, however, they all leave the grounds to have a victory dinner, and everything that happens, uh, Goku hears it for a second and then runs after him.
3:48
SPEAKER_00: This is the, for trivia, the first episode to show one of the main characters dead.
3:54
SPEAKER_00: Uh in this case, it is Krillin, which is this is his first death.
3:58
SPEAKER_00: Despite first.
4:00
SPEAKER_00: Despite Roshi telling Tien that the crowd cheering for him uh means they no longer have hatred directed at him.
4:07
SPEAKER_00: It conflicts with an earlier scene in another episode where the girls said they already liked Tien and wanted his autograph.
4:14
SPEAKER_00: The restaurant that they they go to is a different restaurant.
4:18
SPEAKER_00: Um this is uh possible it's because Roshi couldn't follow up on his promise and they weren't going back to that one.
4:24
SPEAKER_00: So he went to a different restaurant as to not like have to deal with that that staff.
4:28
SPEAKER_00: And that is all the trivia and everything we have for this episode.
4:32
SPEAKER_00: So, previously on Dragon Ball.
4:36
SPEAKER_00: The conclusion of the world's martial arts tournament is going great.
4:40
SPEAKER_00: Uh it starts with Goku fighting against the four-armed Tien, getting headbutted in the stomach a bunch to the point where he looked like he was about to pass out.
4:48
SPEAKER_00: But he's eventually able to use his tail to get out of it, put him in a full Nelson, and hold him until he yells for his mommy.
4:55
SPEAKER_00: And eventually he tries to choke- Tien tries to choke Goku, um, but then the the arms retract because he's getting too weak from the full Nelson that's going on here.
5:04
SPEAKER_00: And so with that, they're able to break apart, and then they go back to just fighting some more until Tien decides he's gonna pull out the special cannon, otherwise known as the Tribeam Cannon.
5:16
SPEAKER_00: Tell me how a triangle cuts a square and uh completely destroys a square.
5:21
SPEAKER_00: I don't know, but it does, and the whole arena is gone after this attack, and so is Goku.
5:26
SPEAKER_00: Except for just kidding, in the next episode we see that Goku had jumped so far out of the sky that nobody knew where he was at, they just knew he wasn't dead.
5:34
SPEAKER_00: And then eventually they were able to see him, and him and Tien fight just a little bit longer.
5:39
SPEAKER_00: Goku uses Kamehameha to headbutt him, and it's a f it's a fall to the finish line.
5:44
SPEAKER_00: Who's gonna land first?
5:46
SPEAKER_00: It just so happens to be Goku after he gets hit by a truck and hits the ground, meaning that Tien is the winner.
5:54
SPEAKER_00: Tien tries to give his money, or half of his money, to Goku, saying, Man, you were gonna win that one.
5:59
SPEAKER_00: You you beat me.
6:00
SPEAKER_00: It was just that unlucky that that truck hit you.
6:03
SPEAKER_00: You could call it the truck of fate that hit you right there.
6:06
SPEAKER_00: And um, Goku's like, I don't even need money.
6:08
SPEAKER_00: Let's just go eat.
6:09
SPEAKER_00: And but on their way to go eat, Goku realizes he left his power pole and his dragon ball back at the the tournament.
6:17
SPEAKER_00: So Krillin, being the the best bro that you could ever have, runs off to get it.
6:23
SPEAKER_00: And that is it for Krillin.
6:26
SPEAKER_00: My boy Krillin.
6:27
SPEAKER_00: Okay, Krillin, he does get killed by an unseen monster.
6:31
SPEAKER_00: Uh presumably saving the announcer's life because the announcer isn't killed.
6:36
SPEAKER_00: He grabbed the we find out the monster grabbed the Dragon Ball, grabbed a paper with a like just a list of names on it, and killed Krillin and peaced out.
6:45
SPEAKER_00: And that is what you missed on Dragon Ball.
6:47
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, go for it.
6:50
SPEAKER_01: Great episodes.
6:52
SPEAKER_01: Um the the best possible kidding I'm kidding, by the way, the best possible end at the final episode.
6:58
SPEAKER_01: Just gonna taunt trim it a little bit, because he taunted me about some other stuff throughout these these episodes.
7:04
SPEAKER_01: No, it is once once I kind of skipping it a little bit, like once I saw Krillin walk away, I'm like, well, something bad's gonna happen to him, obviously.
7:12
SPEAKER_00: Like we know, Krillin's gonna die.
7:15
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Justin, you're right.
7:17
SPEAKER_00: I can't tell you, but you're right.
7:18
SPEAKER_01: Like, like like the way Goku is looking at him, Goku felt something was off, but like he couldn't prove it, so he's like, I guess we'll see it a little bit, Krillin.
7:26
SPEAKER_01: Um you could tell something was gonna happen.
7:29
SPEAKER_01: Whether he was dead or he was gonna be like severely wounded, like you something bad was gonna happen.
7:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
7:36
SPEAKER_00: You could see it coming.
7:38
SPEAKER_00: Especially because like it wasn't Goku going to get the thing.
7:40
SPEAKER_00: It and the way it ended was different than how I remember it happening.
7:44
SPEAKER_00: I remember it happening as like Goku could notice something was off, but it was played just normal.
7:50
SPEAKER_00: You could see it on his face, and he's like, hmm, but not like a full stop where everybody stares at Krillin and he's like, Don't worry, guys, I'll be right back.
7:57
SPEAKER_00: It was just like I remember him running off and then Goku like looking and being like, hmm, that doesn't seem good.
8:03
SPEAKER_00: Anyways, let's go eat.
8:05
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there was more suspicion.
8:07
unknown: Yeah.
8:08
SPEAKER_00: Because I felt like it was just going to be like like you it's supposed to be seen as like shocking.
8:14
SPEAKER_00: But it's definitely like watching it, I'm like, oh yeah, this is like 100% like shown exactly what's going to happen.
8:21
SPEAKER_00: Like you know something bad's happening.
8:23
SPEAKER_01: I I guess the shocking part is you're expecting him to not be dead.
8:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
8:27
SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, yeah, you hope he's not dead.
8:30
SPEAKER_00: At least I do.
8:31
SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, I was I even wrote it down in my note for that second episode as like I know it's coming, but I'm never ready, and it always hurts every time we go there and you see like it hurts you see Goku's reaction, you like you see Krillin's dead body.
8:48
SPEAKER_00: It's just tough because he's yeah, like he's just a child, you know?
8:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he is still just like regardless of how killed before, but he is just a child.
8:56
SPEAKER_01: Like regardless of how strong he is, like in universe, he's which I guess kind of like the fact that he died to it kind of does also go to show as like a power scale, like, oh, this thing is uh on a different level.
9:09
SPEAKER_01: It's like up to like top three in the world right now.
9:12
SPEAKER_01: Like it was able to kill Krillin.
9:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:15
SPEAKER_01: Top three in the world, I don't think it's three.
9:17
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:17
SPEAKER_01: And it might there's an argument that it's probably also not two.
9:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:21
SPEAKER_01: Like I think it's number one.
9:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:24
SPEAKER_00: It it hurts every time I see it, you know.
9:27
SPEAKER_01: It also gives context to the name of the episode, which being The Fallen.
9:30
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, the Fallen is just reference to Krillin.
9:33
SPEAKER_00: The Fallen has been Krillin the whole time.
9:35
SPEAKER_01: Um But we're skipping really, really far ahead in the reader.
9:38
SPEAKER_01: That's literally like the last three minutes of the second episode.
9:42
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
9:42
SPEAKER_01: Uh but like going back to the fight and how the fight's going, this is about as good of an ending to a fight.
9:50
SPEAKER_01: Like the last like twenty-ish plus minutes of this fight.
9:54
SPEAKER_01: Because you have moments where it bounces back and forth and things like that.
9:57
SPEAKER_00: How do you feel about the ending, Jesse, of the fight?
10:01
SPEAKER_00: Because like for the first episode, it's just the only note I have that's worth anything is that like Goku being able to pull out eight arms, even though it's just because he's moving really fast is cool.
10:11
SPEAKER_00: And the tribeam cannon would is just an insane technique.
10:16
SPEAKER_00: Every time I see it, I'm just like, this is insane.
10:18
SPEAKER_00: But Jesse seemed to have some notes about how the ending of the the the uh fight went.
10:24
SPEAKER_01: It's like but I I guess we're just setting a precedent that like the world martial arts tournament until Goku wins, because obviously Goku's gonna win at some point.
10:34
SPEAKER_01: Until Goku wins, it's just gonna end on the most like dumb BS, because last time it ended on like who gets up first, and Goku just was a few seconds late getting up behind Jackie.
10:47
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
10:47
SPEAKER_01: And then this one's like, who lands first?
10:49
SPEAKER_01: And of course Goku gets hit by a truck, thus landing half a second before Tien lands.
10:55
SPEAKER_01: Tien, the character who has like who literally was so knocked out and so so zonked out that when he recovered, he he had like like it's surprised Pikachu face.
11:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
11:09
SPEAKER_01: He's like, what is going on?
11:12
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
11:12
SPEAKER_01: Whereas when Goku recovers, he's like, ah, he has all of his wits about him.
11:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
11:18
SPEAKER_01: And but like it in hindsight, because we were talking a little bit off.
11:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I talked I brought up the philosophy of it off mic.
11:26
SPEAKER_00: Like the philosophy without like without spoiling stuff that happens, it's that like when Goku uh because he does eventually win the tournament, and the tournament's name is number one under the heavens, best under the heaven, yeah.
11:39
SPEAKER_01: The tournament's name is the world martial arts tournament.
11:41
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's and you you are crowded.
11:44
SPEAKER_00: The Japanese name of it that it's based off of is like number one under the heavens.
11:47
SPEAKER_00: Number one under the sun, I think.
11:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
11:49
SPEAKER_00: Under the sun, under the heavens, whatever.
11:51
SPEAKER_00: And that is because there's another anime I watched recently that like had the same thing.
11:55
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
11:56
SPEAKER_00: But they um like once Goku does win it, that's when the show is allowed to like move on to like extraterrestrials and otherworldly threats.
12:07
SPEAKER_01: Which we know comes in in Z.
12:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
12:10
SPEAKER_00: And so if it were to if he were to win this one now, like then.
12:14
SPEAKER_01: Technically there's nothing left on the planet for him to do planet Earth that like can beat him.
12:19
SPEAKER_01: So he has to win it when there's nothing left to to beat.
12:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
12:23
SPEAKER_00: And we know that there's another threat looming, which we don't know the name of, some sort of monster that came and attacked.
12:29
SPEAKER_00: Um, but like the like that is the thought after watching it, and I've seen this er throughout like the when people are talking about it, is it's like it's so cool how like it's not until Goku becomes the strongest one on Earth that the uh the other monsters the universe starts to like send tougher show up.
12:51
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
12:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's when the other characters from the other world.
13:01
SPEAKER_01: It does make sense that it takes Goku being recognized as the strong and because this is kind of showing my my knowledge of like dragons, what happens to Dragon Ball Z.
13:12
SPEAKER_01: So if I remember right, like some of the first extraterrestrials to show up and start picking fights with Goku is Vegeta, isn't it?
13:22
SPEAKER_01: Like the other Sand.
13:23
SPEAKER_01: I say nothing.
13:24
SPEAKER_01: But I'm pretty I'm pretty sure like he's like what he's he's at least like the moment where like Z really starts to hit his stride, at least if he's not the first person to show up.
13:34
SPEAKER_01: I say challenge Goku.
13:35
SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, of course the other like another person of Goku's race will show up because now he like because Goku's at a certain power level, maybe he could like recognize Goku's aura off of Earth and he shows up to challenge her mobile.
13:50
SPEAKER_01: I don't know the plot.
13:52
SPEAKER_00: It's the same as like with like Superman, where as soon as Superman like is like recognized uh as like a defender on Earth, he as soon as he starts to use his powers, that's when the the bad, the evil Kryptonians like Zod and stuff show up, like okay, time to fight.
14:06
SPEAKER_01: Like we like we we're getting Kryptonian power levels off of this planet.
14:10
SPEAKER_01: Maybe we should go investigate them and kill him.
14:14
SPEAKER_00: At first they're like, well, we we we should go investigate him and get him on our side so we can wreck the whole earth.
14:19
SPEAKER_00: And then he's like, I don't want to do that.
14:20
SPEAKER_00: It's like, well, time to kill him.
14:22
SPEAKER_00: Superman's not omni man.
14:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
14:24
SPEAKER_01: Maybe we have to kill this guy.
14:25
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
14:26
SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, that's like that's that's where I kind of like I don't know enough about Dragon Ball Z to confirm if I'm correct.
14:33
SPEAKER_01: And I don't want to be confirmed if I'm correct, because I want to get there and be like, haha, I was correct.
14:37
SPEAKER_01: Or yeah, oh, I was slightly off on this.
14:38
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like that's I do remember like he's one of like the first real challenges that Goku has to face in Z, if I remember.
14:45
SPEAKER_01: I say I say nothing.
14:46
SPEAKER_01: Um maybe him and maybe the Ginyu Force, maybe I say nothing.
14:50
SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
14:51
SPEAKER_00: That's a weird name to pull.
14:52
SPEAKER_00: That's such a weird pull for everybody at home.
14:55
SPEAKER_00: That is an insane pull to pull out, which I know it's because there's like jokes about like some characters like getting ready to fight my elite task force, and there's just like five guys dancing as I walk out.
15:07
SPEAKER_01: I know the Ginyu Force because I watched a a playthrough of like a Dragon Ball uh Z game way back, way back like eight years ago at this point.
15:18
SPEAKER_01: Like I was still I think I was still in like middle school or was just a freshman when it came out.
15:23
SPEAKER_01: But but like one of the plot points was like it was like it was like a time traveler, traveler game, and they had to go back in time and stop the Guinea Force from actually being competent.
15:34
SPEAKER_01: They had to like beat them up.
15:36
SPEAKER_01: Because they were because like in like the alternate history, they like gained an artifact that made them like actually like a threat.
15:43
SPEAKER_01: So they had to go beat them into submission.
15:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's just such an insane pull, because every time I see them, it's really bad name, like character that's like a a legitimate threat that could like destroy the whole universe.
15:54
SPEAKER_00: It's like, before I fight you, you're gonna have to fight my elite special task force, and then it says the Ginyu Force colon, and it's just them like dancing because they're known for like their dance moves as they like show up.
16:05
SPEAKER_00: They do dance moves and poses.
16:07
SPEAKER_00: It's pretty great.
16:08
SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll get there.
16:09
SPEAKER_00: It's probably another gear at or maybe even two before we get there.
16:13
SPEAKER_00: Before we get to the Genu horse.
16:14
SPEAKER_00: But I I love your reaction to me pulling out the Ginyu cords.
16:17
SPEAKER_00: Because like I was expecting like one of the names that like is mo more recognized.
16:21
SPEAKER_00: You pulled out like the mini bosses for one of the main baggages.
16:28
SPEAKER_00: I pulled out the silly, the silly tech on you.
16:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
16:31
SPEAKER_01: It caught me caught me completely.
16:32
SPEAKER_01: I also love them because they're so memeable, so I see memes of them all the time.
16:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
16:38
SPEAKER_01: Um, which just make shows you how like incompetent they are.
16:41
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
16:41
SPEAKER_01: But also why they might be some of the first things he encounters as well.
16:45
SPEAKER_01: But no, like, but like we get back to the fight, and it's like, I mean, Goku's giving them to it.
16:50
SPEAKER_01: Like, I also love that like when they both go down simultaneously, the announcer was getting jiggy with the countdown.
16:58
SPEAKER_01: He's like doing poses and dances while he's counting them down.
17:01
SPEAKER_00: I love the announcer.
17:03
SPEAKER_00: There's not a better I I wrote this down during the second episode, but this is better, he's a better official than these NBA playoff officials a bit.
17:12
SPEAKER_00: He's like, oh god, the the the the fight's over there.
17:16
SPEAKER_00: I gotta throw it on my capsule and jump in my airplane so I can keep official.
17:19
SPEAKER_01: There's a non-zero chance that when this episode comes out uh for you guys, that the NBA finals ended like a week ago.
17:26
SPEAKER_01: Because if it's a sweep, it's like it's over already.
17:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
17:29
SPEAKER_00: But w while we're recording this, we are still in the Western Conference Finals.
17:33
SPEAKER_00: But while we're recording this, actually right now.
17:35
SPEAKER_00: Game six is going to be.
17:36
SPEAKER_00: Game six of the Western Conference Finals.
17:37
SPEAKER_00: It's like about to come back from the third quarter, about to come back in the third quarter.
17:40
SPEAKER_00: Actually, it was about four minutes into the third quarter.
17:43
SPEAKER_00: But they um because I can see he he can't.
17:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
17:46
SPEAKER_00: But uh that was just a dig at the NBA officiating during the.
17:50
SPEAKER_00: They've been very not to get on a tangent, but man, I have been I as somebody who's a Suns fan who had to deal with the Thunder in the first round, not that we were ever going to win that series, but the fact that they needed all that extra extra crap just to beat us.
18:05
SPEAKER_00: Just to sweep you.
18:05
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like, come on.
18:06
SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be ridiculous.
18:08
SPEAKER_01: If the refs weren't helping you, at most we get one game off of you in Phoenix.
18:13
SPEAKER_01: We like at most we maybe win game three, and then you curb stomp us again in four and five.
18:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
18:19
SPEAKER_00: You don't need all this extra crap.
18:21
SPEAKER_00: If you're that good, you don't need to do all the extra crap.
18:24
SPEAKER_00: That's my whole thing.
18:25
SPEAKER_00: Is that if you really were as good as you guys as as the Thunder fans say that you are, like, you don't need all the extracurricular crap to be that good.
18:33
SPEAKER_00: You don't need Lou Dort falling into people randomly, quotation marks heavily around randomly.
18:40
SPEAKER_00: Falling into superstars randomly.
18:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh no, I can't believe I just accidentally fell into your knee and hyperextended it.
18:46
SPEAKER_00: I can't believe that happened.
18:48
SPEAKER_00: We're not a spark.
18:49
SPEAKER_00: We're not supposed to be.
18:50
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I I get so angry about this because I work with like a diehard Thunder fan who is like, my my my boss, uh, his brother and cousin have a Thunder podcast.
19:00
SPEAKER_00: So like I hear about it all the time, and I'm just like, anyways, no one can deny that they're good.
19:08
SPEAKER_01: But it's it's the style of play that people hate.
19:11
SPEAKER_01: Because it's like we know you're good enough to not play like a bunch of pansies.
19:16
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
19:17
SPEAKER_00: It it really bothers me.
19:18
SPEAKER_01: But anyways, yeah.
19:20
SPEAKER_01: But like he like he's given a good fight.
19:22
SPEAKER_01: I love the like Charlie horse that he gives him and then puts him in the full submission.
19:28
SPEAKER_01: Which, by the way, when you brought up when you're reading off full Nelson, I kept chuckling, I kept chuckling to myself uh what during your like expl explanation because every time I hear the full Nelson, I just think of the Phineas and Ferb Ferb moment where he's like, no, he's giving him a half Nelson, now he's giving him a full Nelson, now he's just beating him with Nelson.
19:48
SPEAKER_01: It's like it's when Buford's surfing.
19:51
SPEAKER_01: He's like, God, he's got a nerd in the and then in the last one, he's got Nelson by the legs and is just beating him over the head with the just makes me laugh every time I see that clip.
20:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
20:03
SPEAKER_00: My first note for the first episode was the problem with being that big is that he'll be slower.
20:08
SPEAKER_00: Which does seem to be true.
20:10
SPEAKER_00: Like he's not getting as many hits on Goku until he has Goku completely grabbed.
20:15
SPEAKER_00: Like, Goku's able to dodge and avoid out.
20:18
SPEAKER_01: It also just comes down to um how much what's the actual like speed difference between him and Goku when Goku is going as hard, like as hard as Goku is going in these last like episode and a half of the fights.
20:32
SPEAKER_01: Like this last this last you know, 20 minutes of fighting.
20:35
SPEAKER_01: Because Goku is probably going as fast as he can.
20:39
SPEAKER_01: Like full potential.
20:40
SPEAKER_01: Like if you're measuring off of like uh Deku's one for all, like he's going 100%.
20:45
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
20:45
SPEAKER_01: Like the entire time.
20:47
SPEAKER_00: And uh and Tien s chooses to slow himself down.
20:51
SPEAKER_00: Like but for the power advantage.
20:53
SPEAKER_00: But for the power advantage.
20:55
SPEAKER_00: But the problem is that the only times he gets hits on Goku when he's in four arm mode, is when he has Goku corraled.
21:03
SPEAKER_00: So like but any other time Goku's able to avoid them.
21:06
SPEAKER_00: Because like even the first hit is because Goku's blocking two punches.
21:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
21:10
SPEAKER_00: But like after that, when Goku gets up and is able to just like Mr.
21:14
SPEAKER_00: Miyagi his way through those four arms because they're slower and he's moving faster.
21:19
SPEAKER_00: And he's smaller, so they're have to be more targeted.
21:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
21:22
SPEAKER_00: And it's not working, and that the energy output versus the result is just not the the tips, the scales are not going the way it's supposed to.
21:31
SPEAKER_00: But once he's grabbed and he's getting headbutted a bunch of times, I was literally in the middle of writing, why don't you just use your tail?
21:38
SPEAKER_00: As he uses his tail, and I wrote out, I was about to write you should use his tail.
21:42
SPEAKER_00: Because like that was my thought.
21:43
SPEAKER_00: I was watching like, dude, you got an extra appendage, just use it, you know.
21:47
SPEAKER_00: And we know you've trined your tail, use it.
21:51
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then like we like his arms go away once he like starts to focus and gets into the the Nelson submission, and it's Just like this fight is so hype.
22:03
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
22:03
SPEAKER_01: He gets out, he gets out of the submission, and he like is like, I didn't want to have to do this.
22:10
SPEAKER_01: Please dodge so I don't kill you.
22:12
SPEAKER_01: And he goes into the air.
22:14
SPEAKER_01: Uh TN does.
22:15
SPEAKER_01: And unleashes the Tri-Beam Canon.
22:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
22:19
SPEAKER_00: Which which is so insane because the name of the the episode is the Spirit Canon.
22:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think it's not a spirit canon in it.
22:27
SPEAKER_01: It's gotta be some sort of like translation difference.
22:29
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go look real quick, see if there's anything about translation on here.
22:33
SPEAKER_00: Because there's there's no the other name of the episode is Life or Life or Death, a Last Resort.
22:40
SPEAKER_00: Um also the original episode titled Canon was spelt with one N instead of two.
22:46
SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, the the the literal name from Japan is Life or Death, a Last Resort.
22:52
SPEAKER_00: There's nothing about it being a different name, you know.
22:56
SPEAKER_00: It is just the Tri-Beam Canon.
22:58
SPEAKER_00: Like when I read the Spirit Canon, I was like, when does this happen?
23:03
SPEAKER_00: Like what move is that?
23:04
SPEAKER_00: Like, I know what Tien's known for.
23:06
SPEAKER_00: The Tri-Beam Canon is like his move, because he three eyes makes a triangle, shoots the shoots it out of his eyes, is what I assume happens.
23:14
SPEAKER_00: I know that's not, but like every time I think about it, it's just him just like and it just shoots out of his eyes.
23:19
SPEAKER_00: Like it feels like it should be that way.
23:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but um, though it's I don't know why they called it the spirit canon.
23:24
SPEAKER_00: Um, but it does make your prediction wrong.
23:29
SPEAKER_01: To be fair, there's prediction wrong.
23:32
SPEAKER_01: Even though it's like technically, how would I suppose to guess that it wasn't the spirit canon because they got the title wrong?
23:38
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
23:40
SPEAKER_00: But they it looks like one one thing that I've noticed, because I've been re-watching Super, is Super has the same naming convention as that du as that naming convention is in English.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:50
SPEAKER_00: Of like, life or death, a last resort, is like the way that the the announcer, like the narrator comes in and is like, Goku appears, the fight of our lives, or you know, something like that.
24:02
SPEAKER_00: It's like two two completely different sentences put like back to back.
24:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
24:06
SPEAKER_00: And so like seeing that I'm like, oh yeah, that they must have just gotten closer to the Japanese titling.
24:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I just I don't know.
24:15
SPEAKER_00: I don't know why they call it the spirit canon.
24:18
SPEAKER_00: Um when it's the tribeam canon.
24:20
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I was right, it was named after a tech like that it was supposed to be named after the technique.
24:25
SPEAKER_01: Just the technique didn't have the name of the title of the episode.
24:28
SPEAKER_00: And the technique isn't like isn't because he like draws out the souls of nature or something to shoot it.
24:34
SPEAKER_00: Like it's just like he He's using, he's powering it with his own spirit essence.
24:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
24:39
SPEAKER_00: Like even Roshi.
24:40
SPEAKER_01: Which I do which does give to another great Roshi line where like Krill's like, why would he do that?
24:45
SPEAKER_01: And Roshi just is like, Imbissing seldom gives way to reason.
24:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
24:50
SPEAKER_01: He's like, you know what?
24:51
SPEAKER_01: That's that's a bar.
24:52
SPEAKER_00: That's a that's a Yoda line right there.
24:53
SPEAKER_00: That is a bar.
24:54
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
24:55
SPEAKER_00: That that's that's why Sensei moments.
24:57
SPEAKER_00: It's like it doesn't make sense, but it doesn't have to.
25:00
SPEAKER_00: He wants to win.
25:01
SPEAKER_00: He wants to win so bad that he's not gonna do exactly what he needs to do.
25:04
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's he's he wants to win so bad he's taking a chance.
25:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
25:08
SPEAKER_00: Is it stupid?
25:09
SPEAKER_01: Calculated risk.
25:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like is it is it a stupid chance?
25:12
SPEAKER_00: Mostly.
25:13
SPEAKER_00: But it's a calculated Yes, because if if it wasn't for the truck, Goku wins because of that move.
25:20
SPEAKER_00: Like, we don't know if Goku would have won if they just kept going head to head, if eventually Goku would win that war of attrition.
25:25
SPEAKER_00: But we do know as long if that truck doesn't appear on that road, Goku wins by like a split second.
25:31
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
25:32
SPEAKER_01: Instead of it being him losing by a split second, he wins by split second, yeah.
25:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
25:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I that jump that's where the first episode leaves off is the the canon has gone off.
25:42
SPEAKER_00: Again, the one's gone, Goku is gone.
25:45
SPEAKER_00: I want to bring it.
25:46
SPEAKER_00: How do all these squares make a circle?
25:48
SPEAKER_00: How does this triangle break up the square completely?
25:51
SPEAKER_00: He's shooting in a triangle fashion.
25:54
SPEAKER_00: Why does it cut in a square?
25:56
SPEAKER_00: It doesn't make any sense.
25:59
SPEAKER_00: How do all these squares make a circle?
26:02
SPEAKER_00: It's it's all of that.
26:04
SPEAKER_00: It's constantly that.
26:05
SPEAKER_00: Um but anyways, that's just silly.
26:08
SPEAKER_00: But my next note is holy crap, how'd he get up there?
26:11
SPEAKER_00: Like, how did he jump that high?
26:13
SPEAKER_00: Because like to get that high in the air, you would expect that he used the command mayo.
26:17
SPEAKER_00: But he doesn't.
26:18
SPEAKER_00: He just jumps a million feet in the air.
26:20
SPEAKER_01: He just goes that high.
26:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
26:22
SPEAKER_01: And he eventually he's like Which I think again just shows how much Goku holds back sometimes.
26:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because it's like, dude, what?
26:29
SPEAKER_00: He jumped past him and he didn't even notice.
26:32
SPEAKER_00: And then we get a classic Goku headbutt, his go-to move, his signature move, headbutt you as hard as he can into the stomach.
26:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
26:39
SPEAKER_01: By using Kamehameha to accelerate himself faster.
26:43
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
26:44
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then that's where I put the note about better officiating than the NBA playoffs.
26:49
SPEAKER_01: And then Because he hops in a plane to give live updates on who hits first.
26:55
SPEAKER_01: Which is the only reason why people know that Goku hit first.
26:58
SPEAKER_01: And Tien did not.
26:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
27:00
SPEAKER_00: It is it is a factual thing via the rules.
27:04
SPEAKER_00: Because we know just seeing how Tien reacts, and how like Goku wouldn't have noticed, and how Tin react reacts if it's that close without a third-party official, Tien would have just conceded, because he even says later on, like, you beat me.
27:19
SPEAKER_00: Like, I I won on a technicality, but you you beat me.
27:23
SPEAKER_01: It's like tet technically, you were more conscious than I was when I won.
27:28
SPEAKER_01: Like, like if there wasn't the arbitrary who hit first rule, I would have lost because it would have taken me way longer to get up than you to get up.
27:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
27:37
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I wrote down who hit the ground first because it they kind of leave it ambiguous at the when it first happened.
27:43
SPEAKER_00: Well, when it Because we see Goku hit and then we see Tien hit, but we don't see them on the screen at the same time.
27:48
SPEAKER_01: I believe it is edited that way to imply that Goku hit just first.
27:53
SPEAKER_01: Because that's that's how I took it like from it.
27:54
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh yeah, Goku hit first.
27:56
SPEAKER_01: As soon as I saw the edit, I was like, yeah, Goku hit first.
27:58
SPEAKER_01: Because why, because when you can't, when you don't show them at the same time, you are supposed to be like the audience is believed to be smart enough to interpret that the reason why Goku was shown first is he hit first.
28:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
28:14
SPEAKER_01: And also he was hit by a car, so obviously the car put him on the crown first.
28:19
SPEAKER_00: But speaking of editing, thank you for setting me up for that one.
28:22
SPEAKER_00: I'll slam that one down.
28:23
SPEAKER_00: The editing while they're like surrounding the Tien and Goku, and they're all talking about like Goku, like, oh my gosh, you did so good out there, you're my favorite.
28:32
SPEAKER_00: Nice, you got really nice hair.
28:34
SPEAKER_00: I love your hairstyle, and then it cuts to Tien getting up.
28:37
SPEAKER_00: It's it's a bald guy saying, nice hairstyle to Tien.
28:42
SPEAKER_01: To a bald guy.
28:42
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just great, you know.
28:45
SPEAKER_00: Um, otherwise, like, you know, I wrote down like it's insulting what Roshi said to Tien about like, you know, it's true, but it's insulting.
28:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, maybe people will like you now, you know.
28:56
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's it's the fact of like Roshi kind of knows deep down.
28:58
SPEAKER_01: It's like if you're training under Shandy and you're that that ready to murder a person, they've killed people.
29:05
SPEAKER_01: You're probably not well received by most people you come across.
29:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
29:10
SPEAKER_01: I mean, even we even know, like, deep like deep down, like from probably what 20, 30 episodes ago, like when he appeared during Goku's like training arc when we first see Tien and Chiatsu, where they're scamming villages out of money by uh by working with like a monster pig to then be like, we'll solve your problem, and then like the pig takes a fall, and they all get away with food and money and just scam people out of out of it.
29:39
SPEAKER_01: So like when you're running that type of scam when you first meet a character, obviously they're not a good person and people don't like them.
29:45
SPEAKER_00: This is a moment where I I do want to bring this up now that we've reached the end of the saga, is that I really do love Tien like as a character.
29:55
SPEAKER_00: Like going further, like going past this, I enjoy his his abil his thing.
30:00
SPEAKER_00: Because he doesn't go back to Shin, just like spoiler alert, they don't go to trainer Shin.
30:04
SPEAKER_00: Well, I think I think that was obvious where like, well, we already betrayed Shin.
30:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we renounced him, but we can't take another school's name.
30:11
SPEAKER_00: So like we we are trainees of the you know the uh crane school.
30:16
SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna associate with them outside of just knowingly being associated with them.
30:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but they they literally like they become like monks basically, like um just like hermits, yeah.
30:26
SPEAKER_00: Well they you know traveling monks, like they they they travel, they train, they are a part of nature, all that kind of stuff.
30:32
SPEAKER_00: They but like hermits.
30:34
SPEAKER_00: I would well hermits are more like I'm settled down in one spot and I I don't associate with people, but I'm like settled in my one spot really.
30:42
SPEAKER_00: Because like when I think of a hermit, I think of like the hermit under the bridge.
30:44
SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm thinking I'm gonna be like when I'm referencing hermits and like monks and I'm mixing I'm I'm thinking more like the D D version, like the D D back background.
30:53
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
30:54
SPEAKER_01: Where it's like that's a common background for for monks in D D or like wizards in D, is like because the D hermit is someone who just travels from city to city, taking odds and ends, making a little bit like doing a job in a city, getting some money, getting some supplies from that city from the money you got from doing that little like maybe helping somebody farm and then moving on to the next place.
31:17
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
31:17
SPEAKER_01: So that's where I reference the hermit, as it was like, oh, they're just moving from forth.
31:21
SPEAKER_00: Or the gypsies.
31:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but that's not a good word.
31:25
SPEAKER_01: But like that that that's that's that type of type of lifestyle is kind of like that type of lifestyle where you're just going through.
31:30
SPEAKER_01: But that's why I reference the D D hermit in my brain when I think of hermits.
31:34
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
31:34
SPEAKER_00: I just think of like when I think of hermits, I think of like the hermit under the bridge, the hermit that like like a brochy style where they're kind of just settled in one spot and they don't really interact with people.
31:44
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
31:45
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I all I do love finally we get to like well-adjusted Tien at the end of this episode, because I do really enjoy Tien.
31:54
SPEAKER_00: Like even Not so much Chiatsu, I don't really care much about Chiatsu, but like Tien I really do enjoy.
32:00
SPEAKER_01: Chatsu's just another like kind of simple character, I guess is the best way to put it.
32:06
SPEAKER_00: He ends up becoming like one of the joke characters as like the show continues.
32:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
32:11
SPEAKER_00: Like we see that he's not even on like at this point, he's not on the level of like Krillin, and probably not even Yamcha at full strength.
32:20
SPEAKER_00: Like, if we're not gonna have to do that.
32:21
SPEAKER_01: The only reason why he can beat, like, he could ever beat any of them is like by using telepathy.
32:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
32:26
SPEAKER_01: Like that that's his big hallmark, is he has one of the most overpowered just like powers in the entire universe.
32:33
SPEAKER_00: They even nerf it later on.
32:35
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not gonna spoil it, but like he's he like never uses it as good as he uses it in this saga.
32:41
SPEAKER_00: Like, he's all this is the most good, like the most powerful he's been.
32:46
SPEAKER_00: He only gets worse as it goes along.
32:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
32:49
SPEAKER_00: Um, but like that that's my thing is I just love Tien.
32:54
SPEAKER_00: I wish Tiatsu didn't exist for the most part, because like for the most part, it's like Yamcha and Pu'ar.
32:59
SPEAKER_00: It's like if Pu'ar didn't exist, it doesn't really add or it doesn't really take away much from the show if there was no Puar.
33:06
SPEAKER_00: Like it's same as with like Chiatsu.
33:08
SPEAKER_00: If like Chiatsu didn't exist, it just means like Tien would wouldn't have somebody to say, hey Chiatsu, let's go, you know?
33:13
SPEAKER_00: Like he wouldn't have a sidekick.
33:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
33:15
SPEAKER_00: It's like he literally just has like an animal sidekick.
33:17
SPEAKER_00: That that's what Chiatsu tur eventually is like a joke character slash animal sidekick.
33:22
SPEAKER_00: And it's like whatever.
33:23
SPEAKER_00: But I love Tien and I love that we're finally getting to like like well-adjusted.
33:29
SPEAKER_01: Like as I as I said, like even in this saga, you it's hard not to enjoy his character, like how he is in this saga.
33:39
SPEAKER_01: Because it's like he is kind of what you need in a tournament arc, just like a guy who you know it's gonna be mono imano, he's the big guy, he's the final boss.
33:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
33:50
SPEAKER_01: And you're just waiting for that clash, and that and then that's what you get.
33:55
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he for what the role he is meant to play as like the heel of the tournament, like he does that well.
34:02
SPEAKER_00: But now that he's like part of the squad, I I we finally get like fun, like you know, well-adjusted TN, and I I like that.
34:10
SPEAKER_00: So um, but then we finally get to the part of like Krillin passing away.
34:15
SPEAKER_00: It's a sad moment, it really sucks.
34:18
SPEAKER_00: I don't I'm not like I I for reference.
34:22
SPEAKER_01: I just like read a notification on my phone right as Truva started saying that, so I started laughing.
34:28
SPEAKER_01: I want to tell you, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at the tweet that I just saw that popped up on my phone.
34:33
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
34:33
SPEAKER_01: I'm not on Twitter, it's just like on my like Nation bar.
34:37
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not laughing at you because Krillin is dead.
34:40
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
34:40
SPEAKER_01: I'm laughing, and it just happened to be the worst time for me to read that.
34:45
SPEAKER_00: But Krillin, like, I I I know I say it a lot, like I'm like, he's my boy Kay Rillin.
34:50
SPEAKER_00: Like, I I really do mean it that like Krillin is my favorite character in this show.
34:55
SPEAKER_00: He like in even going into Z, he's still like one of my favorite characters.
34:59
SPEAKER_00: He gets like uh replaced, he ends up falling to like third favorite character in Z and beyond.
35:06
SPEAKER_00: Um, but in especially in Dragon Ball proper, he is my favorite character.
35:11
SPEAKER_00: More than Goku, more than any of the other ones we'll see, like more than any of them that we have or will be seeing in the next a hundred or next fifty episodes, he is my favorite.
35:22
SPEAKER_00: And it just it I I knew it was coming, I I know it comes.
35:26
SPEAKER_00: Like the first time I saw this, it shocked me, and it was very sad.
35:31
SPEAKER_00: But every time I've seen it since then, it's uh like I know it's coming and it still hits me.
35:36
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, gosh dang it.
35:38
SPEAKER_00: He's just a child.
35:39
SPEAKER_00: He was just a boy, and now he's dead, you know?
35:43
SPEAKER_02: My boy, that's my boy.
35:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it literally is that, like the goblet of fire is like Cedric Diggory's dead body is thrown out in front of the people.
35:52
SPEAKER_00: That's what I feel like, is like Krillin, no, Krillin, no, my no! It's just that's how I feel about it.
36:00
SPEAKER_00: I love him.
36:01
SPEAKER_00: He like I said, he is my favorite character in Dragon Ball, and now who knows when he will be back.
36:07
SPEAKER_00: We obviously know foreshadowing, they said it was his first death, so we know he dies at least a couple other times.
36:15
SPEAKER_01: It's if there's one thing I know about Dragon Ball, people love coming back from the dead.
36:19
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
36:19
SPEAKER_01: Like people people even and even if they are dead, they love still appearing as still dead but in the living world for like a episode or two.
36:28
SPEAKER_01: Character with a halo.
36:29
SPEAKER_00: Like the the character model, but wearing a halo, yeah.
36:33
SPEAKER_01: Um As was a sabbler like 30 episodes ago.
36:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
36:37
SPEAKER_00: With Grandpa Gohan.
36:38
SPEAKER_00: Yep.
36:39
SPEAKER_00: But it just it really does.
36:41
SPEAKER_00: It hurts every time and it makes me sad every time.
36:44
SPEAKER_00: And it's it's but it it it's important for the the show and for the the next bit.
36:51
SPEAKER_01: It is impactful because it also gives, like, because as we've re as you come to realize almost immediately, Goku is not gonna seek out the dragon balls unless he has a legitimate reason to seek out the dragon balls.
37:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
37:01
SPEAKER_00: He never wanted to in the first place.
37:03
SPEAKER_01: He was just like, cool, you know?
37:06
SPEAKER_01: Because hey, it's something to do.
37:08
SPEAKER_01: I'm I can I can leave home and stuff.
37:10
SPEAKER_01: And and also like he I think he like his grandpa's ball gets stolen and then he gets it back, and then Bullman's like, we gotta stop the bad guys from getting the dragon balls so the world doesn't get taken over.
37:19
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
37:19
SPEAKER_01: And go show's like, yeah, that sounds like a real logical thing to do.
37:22
SPEAKER_01: And then the second time he collects him, he's like, I gotta, I gotta give uh I gotta bring uh Boar back.
37:27
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
37:28
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I like I have to save my my uh friend, my new friend's dad.
37:32
SPEAKER_01: He just got murdered.
37:33
SPEAKER_00: Because of me.
37:34
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like he was brutally murdered because I just happened to be here, so I feel responsible.
37:38
SPEAKER_01: I gotta fix this.
37:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
37:39
SPEAKER_00: So now he wasn't he was gathering them before that.
37:43
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
37:44
SPEAKER_00: Like because it was mo if at that point it was like they took my like I want to find my grandpa's dragon ball, and I stumbled into this giant army.
37:51
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
37:51
SPEAKER_01: Like, like, but he was he like he wasn't gonna collect them all, he was just gonna keep collecting until he got his his grandpa's ball.
37:57
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
37:58
SPEAKER_01: And then Bora gets murdered, he's like, Well, now I now I have to get them all.
38:02
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
38:02
SPEAKER_01: And now it now we're getting a new setup where it's like, okay, I have to bring Krillin back.
38:06
SPEAKER_01: So I have to get all these dragon balls.
38:08
SPEAKER_01: And at the same time, I have to stop whoever killed Krillin.
38:12
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
38:12
SPEAKER_01: So now we got a whole new motivation.
38:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
38:15
SPEAKER_00: But Jesse, since we're at the end of the saga, do you want to s uh circle back to your saga predictions, Jesse?
38:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna get anything else right, because I think most of them dealt with Goku winning.
38:27
SPEAKER_00: Um the Goku wins the tournament was your end of your saga predictions.
38:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
38:32
SPEAKER_00: That one, Jesse, I'm gonna say, incorrect.
38:35
SPEAKER_00: Goku wins the fight as the two episode predictions.
38:38
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, that one is not right.
38:41
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume uh.
38:43
SPEAKER_00: CN andor Goku pulls out a technique called the Spirit Cannon.
38:46
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, it's called the Tribeam Cannon.
38:49
SPEAKER_00: I can't believe you didn't get that from the title, the Spirit Cannon.
38:52
SPEAKER_00: Can't believe you didn't get that one.
38:53
SPEAKER_01: Would have guessed.
38:54
SPEAKER_00: I wonder why.
38:55
SPEAKER_00: Um, The Fallen is a mention to the next big bad.
38:58
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, that is not right.
39:00
SPEAKER_01: The Fallen is uh Krillas dead.
39:04
SPEAKER_01: Or obviously the fallen also references how the uh fight ends.
39:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and also you said that like the fallen being the re the being the name of the character, uh the bad guy, and that the fallen is a fallen angel as the next bad guy.
39:18
SPEAKER_01: Jesse?
39:19
SPEAKER_01: We can't confirm that yet, but it it's not right because it's the end of the circle.
39:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
39:24
SPEAKER_00: Um with that, Jesse, that leads you with a perfect 0% rating.
39:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
39:29
SPEAKER_01: Granted, one of those is literally because how was I supposed to get the move correct when the name wasn't in the thing?
39:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if it was named Tribeam Canon, you would have gotten that one right.
39:39
SPEAKER_01: Um that one that one if I was.
39:42
SPEAKER_00: And you probably would you probably would have said, and Tien's the one to use it, because he's the one with three eyes.
39:46
SPEAKER_00: Like you would even go more like succinct on who uses the tribeam cannon.
39:51
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
39:52
SPEAKER_00: But that that one that one is probably the first one I'm like, okay, come on.
39:55
SPEAKER_01: Like, like can we really count me as being wrong there?
39:58
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
39:58
SPEAKER_01: Because how am I supposed to be right?
40:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, come on, Jesse.
40:01
SPEAKER_00: Just know don't why don't you know the spirit canon is the tribe cannon?
40:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, but with that sour taste and with the saga coming to a close, Jesse, what are your final thoughts on the Tien Shinhan saga?
40:14
SPEAKER_01: Um, God tournaments, brother.
40:17
SPEAKER_00: And this one's a this one's a just pure tournament.
40:20
SPEAKER_00: The entire because like the first tournament saga, we had the whole training and lead up to the tournament.
40:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
40:24
SPEAKER_00: This one is just tournament.
40:26
SPEAKER_01: And uh I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the next tournament saga, which probably towards like the last couple episodes of the ser the show of Dragon Ball, I'm gonna go out and limb and assume Goku wins that one.
40:39
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
40:40
SPEAKER_00: But I will tell you, this is like this next saga we're coming up on is not the last saga.
40:46
SPEAKER_00: There's two sagas left.
40:47
SPEAKER_00: So it's this one and then the next one.
40:49
SPEAKER_01: And then the next one.
40:50
SPEAKER_01: Which I'm assuming the last saga is probably a tournament saga that Goku wins, as we kind of mentioned.
40:54
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
40:55
SPEAKER_01: Because I know Z is the next show after this.
40:57
SPEAKER_00: Yes.
40:58
SPEAKER_00: Um, but before we get there, I just wanted to circle on your on your thoughts about the episode about the saga as a whole.
41:05
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's it's about as it's better than the first tournament saga, I think I say that.
41:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
41:10
SPEAKER_01: But it's hard not to improve on yourself, especially with you know, what, forty to fifty episodes in between tournaments?
41:22
SPEAKER_01: Give her today.
41:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
41:23
SPEAKER_01: I can definitely the first tournament saga ends.
41:27
SPEAKER_01: Then we go on the whole red ribbon saga.
41:29
SPEAKER_01: Red ribbon saga.
41:31
SPEAKER_00: The first tournament saga ends at episode 28, and then that's the second one starts at uh let me get down to it.
41:38
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I went the wrong way.
41:40
SPEAKER_00: Um, but the next one starts at 84.
41:42
SPEAKER_00: So it's about almost 60 episodes in between.
41:46
SPEAKER_01: So when you have 60 episodes of like world building in between, it's hard not to improve on yourself.
41:52
SPEAKER_00: One thing you brought up was like the animation, like they because they show a flashlight.
41:55
SPEAKER_00: Well, they show a flashback, like you can tell like the budget has gone up on the animation because or the time has gone up, or the manpower, something has gone up to make it look cleaner.
42:05
SPEAKER_01: Well, well that would that would kind of go into budget.
42:07
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
42:07
SPEAKER_01: You know, you have you have the ability to make everything cleaner, which you should expect, because it you know, if you release one episode, if you average one episode every week and you've released 60 and what uh almost sixty episodes, you've gone almost an entire year of making the show.
42:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
42:24
SPEAKER_01: So at at embarrass minimum, if you'd never stop releasing episodes weekly.
42:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
42:29
SPEAKER_01: Which I mean, there's probably a break in between.
42:32
SPEAKER_00: At least like two or three week breaks here and there.
42:34
SPEAKER_01: So like you if you're also taking breaks, then you have even longer to improve.
42:39
SPEAKER_01: Those breaks are probably allowing you to f finish out uh polishing up certain animations and then giving you more time to get ahead on the next episodes coming out before the next break.
42:51
SPEAKER_01: So all logic points to uh well of course the animation has gotten better because if it didn't get better, then you're invincible.
42:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
43:01
SPEAKER_01: Not to rag on another show, but like then you're invincible.
43:05
SPEAKER_01: And you're paying too much to your voice actors.
43:06
SPEAKER_01: Maybe you should stop paying that much to your voice actors.
43:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
43:09
SPEAKER_01: I don't know, they do a pretty good job.
43:11
SPEAKER_01: I I well again, that they do a great job, but like what are like it's wrong priorities.
43:17
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
43:19
SPEAKER_01: Because you could find really good like voice actors on a much smaller budget.
43:24
SPEAKER_01: Instead of buying, like, getting triple A talent for like triple A acting talent, you know.
43:28
SPEAKER_00: Instead of just going to the voice acting.
43:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, go into the go into the voice actor.
43:32
SPEAKER_00: That's a whole different show.
43:32
SPEAKER_00: We're not talking about it.
43:34
SPEAKER_00: But and speaking of the show, we are talking about, Jesse.
43:36
SPEAKER_00: Do you want to hear what the name of the next saga is for you guys?
43:39
SPEAKER_01: I gotta make my predictions, yeah.
43:41
SPEAKER_00: You want to know it?
43:42
SPEAKER_00: It is the King Piccolo saga.
43:46
SPEAKER_00: What name what does Piccolo what does King Piccolo sound like to you, Jesse?
43:50
SPEAKER_00: Jesse is making a shock Pikachu face himself right now.
43:54
SPEAKER_00: With a little bit of joy.
43:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm excited because I think he knows the name of the city.
43:59
SPEAKER_01: Now, is it the The same Piccolo is what I have to guess.
44:03
SPEAKER_01: I cannot tell you that.
44:05
SPEAKER_01: Because I know of Piccolo, and he is world best ed.
44:09
SPEAKER_01: I cannot tell you that, Jesse.
44:11
SPEAKER_01: I refuse to tell you.
44:12
SPEAKER_01: But is he is he the king?
44:15
SPEAKER_01: Or is he like a different piccolo?
44:18
SPEAKER_01: I refuse to tell you.
44:20
SPEAKER_01: I'm saying nothing.
44:21
SPEAKER_01: He's a piccolo.
44:22
SPEAKER_01: And he's absolutely supposed to be like a black-coated character.
44:28
SPEAKER_01: I say nothing.
44:30
SPEAKER_01: But no, um, well, I think we're fighting King Piccolo.
44:33
SPEAKER_01: I think that's what we're fighting the saga.
44:36
SPEAKER_01: Um who do you think he wants?
44:40
SPEAKER_01: Um, maybe he wants his wife back?
44:42
SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
44:44
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
44:44
SPEAKER_01: I mean collecting he's collecting Dragon Balls.
44:47
SPEAKER_01: So He wants something.
44:50
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he wants something.
44:52
SPEAKER_01: Definitely wants something.
44:55
SPEAKER_00: Do you want me to give you the episode names for the next two episodes?
44:59
SPEAKER_00: Uh well we're not watching two episodes next.
45:01
SPEAKER_00: We're watching a movie name.
45:02
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're right.
45:02
SPEAKER_00: I forgot.
45:04
SPEAKER_00: So we will have to leave these two episodes for later, which means we have to pull back up the name of the movie so that you can try to take a guess at that.
45:12
SPEAKER_00: Where is the name of the movie?
45:14
SPEAKER_00: Dragon Ball, Mystical Adventure.
45:16
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, what do you think is gonna happen in Mystical Adventure?
45:19
SPEAKER_00: Well, I Outside of what I've already told you from the picture.
45:22
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but say well, we obviously know we're going back to Penguin Village.
45:27
SPEAKER_00: Here, if you want to circle the table really quick, I have the picture pulled up.
45:31
SPEAKER_00: I don't want to move the computer because I don't want to mess it up.
45:34
SPEAKER_00: This is the this is the poster for it, Jesse.
45:36
SPEAKER_00: What do you think is going to happen in the the mystical adventure?
45:40
SPEAKER_00: What do you think that is?
45:42
SPEAKER_00: Jesse, describe to the audience what you're seeing.
45:44
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
45:45
SPEAKER_01: So we're on the Nimbus Cloud.
45:48
SPEAKER_01: Goku's at the front.
45:50
SPEAKER_01: Then we get uh directly behind him are the two little fairy characters, the Gachimons.
45:58
SPEAKER_01: Then standing, looming above all the Gachimons and Goku on the cloud, uh, Tao is back, apparently, with no halo.
46:08
SPEAKER_01: And then um at the very back of the cloud is Ariel.
46:13
SPEAKER_01: Robert uh is Ariel.
46:16
SPEAKER_01: And then a bunch of like scenery in the background.
46:19
SPEAKER_00: Alright, so Jesse, what do you think is gonna happen in this episode?
46:23
SPEAKER_00: Well, or in this movie.
46:26
SPEAKER_00: This movie, I believe, Tao is going to be a villain.
46:30
SPEAKER_01: Tao is the villain.
46:32
SPEAKER_01: Who could have seen that coming?
46:34
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, honestly, what it seem what it feels like, it's just gonna be a quick retelling of everything dealing with Tao from the actual anime.
46:44
SPEAKER_01: Okay.
46:45
SPEAKER_01: But condensed into a movie is my guess.
46:48
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
46:48
SPEAKER_01: Because the only other reason why Goku, young Goku, would be back at Penguin Village and Tao is in the poster, is probably because he's fighting Tao back into the village again.
46:58
SPEAKER_00: Well, Tao was never at the village, that was blue.
47:00
SPEAKER_01: Was that blue?
47:01
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was blue.
47:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, maybe I'm dumb.
47:05
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
47:06
SPEAKER_00: I refuse to tell you anything about that.
47:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for some reason I had my brain that that was Tao that got to the village.
47:11
SPEAKER_00: I can tell you it's a little bit different here.
47:14
SPEAKER_00: Like reading the summary.
47:16
SPEAKER_00: Um, it's it's it the timeline is a little bit different than um this the the timeline says it takes place during Goku and Krillin's training under Masuroshi.
47:28
SPEAKER_00: So, like, if that gives you anything to predict on like the timeline, like like the timeline is uh converging in it.
47:36
SPEAKER_00: It's like uh different, it's like they first they go and stop the sleeping princess from Devil's Castle, and then they show up in Tao's there for some reason, you know, whatever's going on.
47:47
SPEAKER_01: I'm fighting Tao in the Penguin Village.
47:50
SPEAKER_01: That's the best I got.
47:51
SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know what else I'm supposed to interpret from that posting.
47:54
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
47:55
SPEAKER_00: I'm putting it there.
47:56
SPEAKER_00: Um so Jesse, with all your predictions, what do you think was your worst part in these last two episodes?
48:06
SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's not what you're gonna say.
48:11
SPEAKER_01: Pretty accurately, I feel confident about.
48:13
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be Krillin being dead.
48:15
SPEAKER_00: It does hurt my soul.
48:17
SPEAKER_00: I can't say it's my worst part because like it's it's done well, but it is the part that hurts me the most in these episodes.
48:24
SPEAKER_00: In the first 101 episodes.
48:26
SPEAKER_00: The most painful part.
48:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this part hurts me more than anything.
48:29
SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, there's not really any like anything.
48:32
SPEAKER_00: I thought you were gonna eat I thought you were gonna pick the truck.
48:35
SPEAKER_00: It was gonna be your worst part.
48:37
SPEAKER_00: I mean, like because you did not like that one.
48:40
SPEAKER_01: That's anti-clima that's like it's like it's an anticlimactic way to end it, but how else are you supposed to end it?
48:44
SPEAKER_01: Because if you end it like going mono imano, Goku would have now have two titles.
48:49
SPEAKER_01: I mean, because I mean I think even like uh Chan Chun and slash Roshi.
48:54
SPEAKER_01: Chun uh, admit that like Goku probably wouldn't have beaten him had he had just a little bit more experience.
49:03
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
49:04
SPEAKER_01: Um so you could there's a very good argument that Goku could have two winners' medals.
49:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
49:10
SPEAKER_00: For me, it's just like my worst part, just to get it out of the way, is probably just the fact that like it took Goku so long to use his tail.
49:19
SPEAKER_00: There were moments where it felt a little stretched when it could have it could have just been a little condensed.
49:24
SPEAKER_00: And it's I know it's nitpicky because I didn't care that much about it, but as a part, like if they kept it more close to the mind, these episodes are so good.
49:32
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
49:32
SPEAKER_00: I don't mind it, but like if I'm gonna pick a part, it's like you could have condensed it just a little bit.
49:37
SPEAKER_01: I guess I guess if you're gonna pick a worse part about like um anything for me, it's probably just um spoiling by how they did it when Krillin runs away, like spoiling like, oh, something obviously bad is gonna happen.
49:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
49:57
SPEAKER_00: If it had just been more surprising, it would have it would have hit harder.
50:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
50:02
SPEAKER_00: As he's getting ready to leave, you're like, oh, something bad's gonna happen.
50:05
SPEAKER_00: You said like Krillin's gonna die.
50:07
SPEAKER_00: And I know you were like joking in that moment, but like he really did joke.
50:11
SPEAKER_01: But it was but it's like it was it was like it was I said it was a joke, so I'm like, oh obviously something bad's gonna happen to Krillin.
50:16
SPEAKER_01: But it was like, oh, it would be funny if you're like, oh, Krillin's gonna die.
50:18
SPEAKER_01: You're like saying it's a joke.
50:19
SPEAKER_01: And then like he is dead, and you're like, well, why did you why did you why did you spoil it so hard by like zooming in, Coco being like, wait, oh, oh, and you took like 20 seconds for Killer to run off.
50:35
SPEAKER_00: That's definitely a part where the pacing felt that.
50:38
SPEAKER_00: So, yeah.
50:39
SPEAKER_00: It like spoils this big emotional moment at the very like that's supposed to start off the new saga.
50:45
SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
50:46
SPEAKER_00: And it this really does feel like you're just supposed to go straight into that next saga, which is hilarious because we're like movie time.
50:55
SPEAKER_00: It says when it says to watch the.
50:56
SPEAKER_00: No, it says to watch it like episode like 93 or something.
51:00
SPEAKER_00: Like midway through the tournament saga, you're supposed to stop and go watch this.
51:03
SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah.
51:04
SPEAKER_00: I guess it's I think it's like in between rivals and arrivals in like the start of the tournament is where they want you to watch it.
51:11
SPEAKER_01: It must be like Goku must kill Tao in the movie because I think around that time is when they realize that Goku killed Tao.
51:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
51:22
SPEAKER_01: So then it's like, oh go watch this, go watch the movie so you can watch Goku kill Tao again.
51:27
SPEAKER_01: But the movie came out like you haven't watched the you haven't watched the episode where he kills Tao.
51:35
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
51:35
SPEAKER_00: But the thing is with that is I don't I think the movie comes out after the this next saga, I'm pretty sure.
51:41
SPEAKER_00: So Rivals and Arrivals were I went the wrong way.
51:44
SPEAKER_00: Rivals and Arrivals came out in uh October.
51:49
SPEAKER_00: No, I just October 1987 is when the the saga starts for the um for the tournament saga.
51:57
SPEAKER_00: The movie comes out in in Japan or at the Toei Cartoon Festival, July 9th, 1988.
52:04
SPEAKER_00: So like you literally after the saga, like because I'm pretty sure that the the last episode, didn't I say it came out like this New Year's Eve?
52:13
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
52:13
SPEAKER_00: Of 97, I'm pretty sure.
52:15
SPEAKER_00: Or it'll mean like 87.
52:16
SPEAKER_00: Or 1988.
52:17
SPEAKER_00: February 17th, 1988, is when it came this the the end of this saga came out.
52:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
52:22
SPEAKER_00: And then the movie kind of doesn't come out until June.
52:25
SPEAKER_00: But they say, put it right here between these two episodes.
52:28
SPEAKER_00: I guess like if you are watching timeline-wise, it's nice to get a reminder that Goku killed Tao.
52:32
SPEAKER_00: But like it also they show it like every other episode for the first five episodes of the saga.
52:37
SPEAKER_01: Like Well, once once they realize Goku's when he killed Tao, that's when they should tell you.
52:42
SPEAKER_01: Which, if it's rivals on arrival, that's like when they show up for the fight.
52:47
SPEAKER_01: Like the fight fully.
52:48
SPEAKER_01: So that means I guess it works.
52:51
SPEAKER_01: Like it's supposed to be inserted there for you to for you like, I remember he killed he killed Tao, because it's important to know this before like for the next like 12 episodes.
53:03
SPEAKER_00: I guess it makes sense.
53:04
SPEAKER_00: I just I personally I like the I like the way that we like the way that I've I've decided to do it, is just like we're not breaking up a saga with a movie.
53:14
SPEAKER_00: The movies are happening after a big saga ends, no matter what comes after it.
53:18
SPEAKER_00: Even if this is supposed to just deadbolt straight into the next episode, we are taking a break.
53:23
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna go to the Penguin Belge, gosh dang it.
53:26
SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna like it.
53:27
SPEAKER_01: It's a great, it's a great vacation to take before he getting into that super emotional saga where Goku's trying to bring Killin Kirlin back.
53:36
SPEAKER_01: Because I can guarantee you that's what's gonna happen.
53:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
53:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, but with that, I don't really have anything else to say.
53:41
SPEAKER_01: If we say best part.
53:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh oh yeah, we did not.
53:44
SPEAKER_00: Best part, Tribeam Cannon.
53:46
SPEAKER_00: Tribeam Cannon's gonna be.
53:46
SPEAKER_00: It's hard not to pick that.
53:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
53:48
SPEAKER_00: It has to be my best part.
53:50
SPEAKER_00: I every time I see the Tribeam Canon, I think of a scene where it's used later, and I love that scene so much, and I'm not gonna say what it is, but it also has an amazing Dragon Ball Z abridged version of it.
54:02
SPEAKER_00: It happens in Dragon Ball Z.
54:04
SPEAKER_00: But in Dragon Ball Z Abridged, they have a funny version of what's happening, but it's equally as epic, even with the silliness going on.
54:12
SPEAKER_00: I I just love it every time.
54:13
SPEAKER_00: And I every time I see him use it, every time I see him floating with his little triangle in front of his hands, I'm like, oh boy, it reminds me of that part.
54:22
SPEAKER_00: Oh the fold nails on.
54:24
SPEAKER_00: Oh TN, you are so strong.
54:26
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're not even the strongest Z Fighter.
54:29
SPEAKER_00: I I don't even think you're as strong as you are.
54:33
SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
54:36
SPEAKER_00: Every time, I just that I think of the Z abridge, but it's also just such a cool animation.
54:41
SPEAKER_00: You see him like almost like summoning lightning like Avatar Last Airbender, just like shoot it down.
54:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, it is cool.
54:48
SPEAKER_00: The fact that he has to like site like, you know, like focus on his sights, like as it like moves around like the predator's sight.
54:54
SPEAKER_00: It is amazing.
54:55
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
54:56
SPEAKER_00: So, Jesse, what is your best part?
54:57
SPEAKER_01: Uh, I mean, that's that's a great best part if I just want to take it.
55:02
SPEAKER_01: I am going to take kind of like Tien's like everyone's makeup scene at the end.
55:09
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
55:10
SPEAKER_01: Like before they go to dinner and they spoil Krillin's gonna die, and then Crump dies.
55:13
SPEAKER_01: That is my honorable mention.
55:16
SPEAKER_01: Tries to offer the money and everyone's kind of talking, and like even Yamcha comes up, like, you dude, I forgive you, man.
55:21
SPEAKER_01: Like, it's all good.
55:21
SPEAKER_01: It happens.
55:22
SPEAKER_01: I understand.
55:22
SPEAKER_01: Crappy people.
55:23
SPEAKER_01: It's the heat of battle, yeah.
55:24
SPEAKER_00: And happy people, you know, you're led by.
55:27
SPEAKER_00: As I say, what, the fog of war?
55:28
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the fog of war or whatever.
55:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
55:30
SPEAKER_00: Like that type of thing.
55:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
55:32
SPEAKER_00: I that was my honorable mention.
55:34
SPEAKER_00: If you hadn't picked it, I was gonna say it is an honorable mention.
55:37
SPEAKER_01: Like, but the tribe canon is so good as well.
55:40
SPEAKER_01: But you have you have a better reason to like it.
55:42
SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, you know what?
55:43
SPEAKER_01: I'll take the cool, like cool, like, as as we always say, Goku.
55:48
SPEAKER_01: Great at making friends out of enemies.
55:50
SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
55:50
SPEAKER_01: It's why I'm like, there's almost it's there's a very good chance this King Piccolo is the same piccolo that I know.
55:57
SPEAKER_01: Because odds are Goku's gonna make a friend out of an enemy.
56:00
SPEAKER_00: I guess we'll have to wait and see.
56:02
