- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Hello, this is Kenny, your podcast preacher.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to my podcast, Deep Waters.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: This podcast is brought to you by Applied Strengths Ministry, where we believe working together on our strengths is the effect of working out the will and calling of God and into our lives.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Thanks for joining me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Let's open up in prayer.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: God, we thank you for today and for the opportunity to grow.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: We pray that you would give us a revelation within this message that you intend on us receiving with the understanding.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: The title of this message is Revelational Word Definitions and Meanings, part one of 13.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, so just one more time, I want to let my listeners know that we are now on Amazon Podcast.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Sorry for the delay in posting my next message.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: My heart surgery resulted in me getting pneumonia, and so I was required to bed recently.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Besides, I didn't really have the lung capacity to record.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: But by the grace of God and the love of God, I'm able to return and present part one of the 13-part series on end-time terms.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Yes, there will be some redundancies, but that will only help to get this past our forehead memory and deep within our cranium.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: As I was reading the book titled They Lied to You About the Rapture written by Emiline Didham, published by Destiny Published Books, he had placed at the end of his book an end-time glossary of terms.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: As I was reading through some of those terms, it occurred to me that perhaps I should throw some of that information out your way.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Since I too am teaching a lot on the end of the end times, I highly recommend reading his book if you are double interested in the study of the end times.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: You say why I can't speak here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I say because you will be blessed, considering that the term or activity of watching, as described and commended in the Bible, is listed in over 30 places in the Bible, and that reading the book of Revelation and studying the end times is a hedge against the great deception, which is now being played out all over the earth.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: You can dial into many of my 2025 through 2026 messages if you need to get caught up.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: People are most caught up are because of self-induced ignorance, unbelief, and an overestimation of how nice people are or can be even when the pressure is on.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Revelation 1, 1 through 3.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants, things which must shortly take place.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the Word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it, for the time is near.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Behold, I am coming quickly.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: No other book in the Bible makes this declaration about itself, and we cannot keep what we do not know.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, on to the terms, and as always forgive the redundancy, as it is a strong method used in effective learning cycles.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: The terms will be listed in alphabetical order.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: You don't want to miss these, as I know that you do not know all of what these terms mean, and I know this because I didn't either, and I am in fact still learning.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: The hundred and forty four thousand.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, the hundred and forty four thousand refers to a specific group of servants sealed by God during the end times, mentioned in the book of Revelation, chapter seven and fourteen.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Specifically Revelation seven four through eight.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: John hears the numbers of those sealed, twelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israel, excluding Dan and Ephraim, and including Joseph and Levi.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Revelation fourteen one through five.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: They appear standing with the lamb, Jesus, on Mount Zion, described as having the Father's name on their foreheads, singing a new song, and being redeemed as first fruits for God.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: The main biblical interpretation Christian traditions view and define the hundred forty four thousand in two primary ways, a literal group of Jewish evangelists.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Many literal or dispensational interpreters view the hundred forty four thousand as an exact number, twelve thousand literally, ethnic Jews from each of the twelve tribes of Israel.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Their role, according to this view, is that they are converted or set apart during the end time tribulation period, to act as divine witnesses or evangelists who preach the gospel to the rest of the world, a symbolic representation of all believers, the view many Bible scholars view the number as symbolic rather than a strict headcount, pointing out that revelation uses heavy apocalyptic and symbolic imagery.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: The math of symbolism, the numbers derived by multiplying twelve, the traditional tribes of Israel, times the twelve apostles of the Lamb, times a thousand, a standard biblical term representing a large, complete quantity or totality.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Their role.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: In this view, the hundred and forty four thousand represents a complete, perfect totality of God's redeemed people from every background throughout history, mirroring the great multitude described immediately after in Revelation 7 9.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: Not that you want to know my opinion, but I like the first interpretation, which is that there will literally be twelve thousand Jewish people, a total of one hundred and forty four thousand, witnessing during the tribulation, the most difficult time on earth.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Specific denominational views, such as Jehovah's Witnesses.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Their view is groups like the Jehovah's Witnesses interpret the hundred and forty four thousand as a literal number of anointed Christians who will go to heaven to rule alongside Jesus as kings and priests, while the rest of the faithful inherit an earthly paradise.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Mainstream Christian theology rejects this distinction, arguing the Bible places no numerical limit on eternal salvation.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: This is true, and also the hundred and forty four thousand are Jews.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: They're from the tribes made up of Jews, so it has nothing to do with the church, which is made up of people from all different races.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss the hundred and forty four thousand are as follows Revelation seven one through three.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Angels are held back from harming the earth and sea until the servants of God receive a seal on their foreheads.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Revelation seven four.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: John hears the exact number of those who are sealed, one hundred and forty four thousand from every tribe of the sons of Israel.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Revelation seven five through eight.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: The text lists twelve thousand sealed from each of the twelve tribes of Israel Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Ishkar, Zebelin, Joseph, and Benjamin.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Revelation fourteen one, John sees the lamb, Jesus, standing on Mount Zion, and with him are the hundred and forty four thousand who have his name and his father's name written on their foreheads.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Revelation fourteen two through three, they sing a new song before the throne of God that no one else can learn except the hundred and forty four thousand who were redeemed from the earth.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: Revelation fourteen four through five.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: They are described as those who have not defiled themselves with women, kept pure, following the lamb wherever he goes, are purchased as first fruits for God, and are found without fault.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Our next definition Abadon.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: In the Bible, Abaddon means destruction, or the realm of the dead in the Old Testament, and it represents the angel of the bottomless pit in the New Testament.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: The Hebrew root of the word Abadon means to perish or ruin.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: It is not a living creature or spirit in these early passages.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: It describes a place of ruin, destruction, or death.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: It often appears alongside Sheol, which is the ancient Hebrew word for the grave or the underworld.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: It is found in wisdom and poetic books like Job, Proverbs, and Psalms.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: The meaning in the New Testament, such as Revelation nine hundred eleven, mentions an angel who rules over the abyss, the bottomless pit.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: His Hebrew name is Abadon.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: His Greek name is Apollyon, which translates to the destroyer.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: He rules over a plague of locust like creatures that come out of the smoke of the abyss to torment people during the end times.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Is Abadon Satan?
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Theologians debate whether Abadon is Satan himself or a high ranking demon working under Satan.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Most biblical scholars separate the two, noting that Revelation portrays Abaddon as a warden or king of the pit rather than the devil who opposes God from the outside.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss Abaddon are as follows Revelation nine eleven.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: His name in Hebrew is Abaddon.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: In Greek he is called Apollyon.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Context During the end times trumpet judgments, the abyss is opened, releasing a plague of tormenting, demonic locusts.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Abaddon, whose Greek name is Apollyon, means destroyer.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: He's their ruler.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Job twenty six six.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Sheal is naked before God, and Abadon has no covering.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Job twenty eight twenty two.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Abaddon and death say we have heard a rumor of it with our ears, speaking on the elusive nature of true wisdom.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: And Job thirty one twelve, for that would be a fire that consumes as far as Abadon, and it would burn to the root of all my harvest.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: In the Psalms it states in Psalm eighty eight eleven, is your steadfast love declared in the grave, or your faithfulness in Abadon?
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: In the book of Proverbs fifteen eleven it states Sheol and Abadon lie open before the Lord, how much more the hearts of the children of man?
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And Proverbs twenty seven twenty states Sheil and Abadon are never satisfied, and the eyes of man are never satisfied.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Our next term is abomination of desolation.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: The abomination of desolation is a detestable, sacrilegious act or idol that profanes a holy place and brings God's judgment and destruction.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: The phrase comes from the Old Testament book of Daniel and is later referenced by Jesus in the New Testament.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: Biblical scholars and traditions view its meaning through historical first century and future end times lenses.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: The phrase appears multiple times in the book of Daniel Daniel nine twenty seven, eleven thirty one and twelve eleven.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: They describe a future time when regular sacrifices in the Jewish temple will stop and the abomination that causes desolation will be set up.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Historical fulfillment one hundred sixty seven BC.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: Most scholars agree that this prophecy saw a direct historical fulfillment when the Greek Syrian king Aenechus fourth Ephanes invaded Jerusalem.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: He desecrated the Jewish second temple by erecting an altar or statue to Zeus and sacrificing pigs, an unclean animal under Jewish law on the altar of God.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: References in the New Testament.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Jesus used the phrase when warning his disciples about future destruction.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Matthew twenty four, fifteen and Mark thirteen, fourteen quote Daniel directly.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Jesus tells his followers that when they see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place, it is a signal to flee.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: AD seventy fulfillment.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Many historians and theologians view this as partially fulfilled when the Roman general Titus destroyed Jerusalem and burned the second temple in seventy AD.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: The future end times view in Christian eschatology the study of end times, many believers hold a futurist view.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: They believe Jesus was also pointing to a final, ultimate event, the Antichrist, a future political or religious leader who will make a covenant with Israel, only to break it midway through a seven year period.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: In the temple desecration, this figure will force a stop to temple sacrifices and demand worship for himself or set up an idol, like the image of the beast in Revelation thirteen fourteen, in a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss the abomination of desolation are as follows.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: The phrase abomination of desolation or abomination that causes desolation is found in the Old Testament books of Daniel and repeated by Jesus in the New Testament Gospels.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: The Old Testament scriptures are as follows.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Daniel nine twenty seven mentions a future covenant being made and broken, bringing an end to sacrifice and offerings with an abomination that makes desolate.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Daniel 11 31 foretells forces that will defile the sanctuary fortress, abolishing the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Daniel 12 11 measures the timeline twelve hundred and ninety days, from the time the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Daniel 8 13 asks how long the vision concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation will last.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: The New Testament scriptures, Matthew twenty four, fifteen sixteen, Jesus warns his disciples, so when you see standing in the holy place, the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel, let the reader understand, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Mark thirteen, fourteen records a parallel warning from Jesus.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it does not belong, let the reader understand, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Luke twenty one twenty.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: While not using the exact three word phrase, Luke records the companion teaching, but when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: In Second Thessalonians two three through four, the apostle Paul expands on the concept, describing the man of lawlessness taking his seat in the temple of God and proclaiming himself to be God.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Our next definition age or dispensation.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Dispensationalism is a Christian theological framework that divides human history into distinct chronological ages or dispensations, during which God administers his relationship with humanity in unique ways.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: So a definition of key terms age, a specific measurable period of time on the historical timeline, and dispensation, the administrative system, rule, or stewardship God establishes during a given age to direct human responsibility and test humanity's obedience.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: The core principles a literal interpretation.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Dispensationalists read the Bible, especially prophecy, using a consistent, everyday literal hermenetic, which is in a simpler form interpretation method.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Israel and the Church The system maintains a clear theological and prophetic distinction between ethic Israel and the Christian Church.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Unified salvation, while God rules and tests change by age, salvation has always been granted by God's grace through faith.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: The seven traditional ages or dispensations.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Most classical dispensationalists outline seven major eras in human history the age of innocence, from creation until the fall of Adam and Eve and Eden, conscience, from the fall until the global flood, human government, from Noah and the flood until the call of Abraham, promise from Abraham through the patriarchs to Moses, law from Mount Sinai and the giving of the Mosaic Law until the cross of Christ, grace, the church age, from the day of Pentecost until the rapture of the Church, the current era of history, and as I taught on the rapture, it is somewhat supportable that it could happen within the next fifteen years.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss age or dispensationalism are as follows.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Dispensationalism is a theological framework that interprets human history as being divided into distinct administrative periods or ages, during which God tests humanity under different responsibilities or revelations.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: The key scriptures Ephesians one ten, that in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: This points to a plan, management or administration of time periods.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Ephesians three two through three.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, which is given me to your word, how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery, Paul defines a specific administration, the age of grace, entrusted to him for the Gentiles.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Colossians one twenty six, the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints, indicates secrets revealed or shifts occurring between past ages and the current era.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Hebrew one verse two God has spoken to us by his Son, by whom also He made the worlds.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: The Greek Aeons means ages or eras.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: The scriptural basis for distinguishing eras, the seven dispensations.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: While the systemized framework of seven dispensations is a theological structure rather than a single explicit verse, theologians anchor each period to specific textual markers innocence, Eden, Genesis 1 twenty eight and Genesis two fifteen through seventeen man's state and mandate before the fall.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Conscience from the fall to the flood Genesis three seven and Genesis six five humanity guided by conscience ending in judgment, human government, post flood, Genesis nine six, the institution of capital punishment and human governance promise Abraham era Genesis twelve one through three, God's covenant and focus through the patriarchs.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Law Moses to Christ Exodus nineteen eight and John one seventeen for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Grace, the church age, Acts two four and Ephesians two eight through nine, the current parenthetical period of the Holy Spirit and salvation by faith apart from the Mosaic Law and the Millennial Kingdom, Revelation twenty four through six, Christ reigning physically on earth for a thousand years.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Our next definition Age of Grace or the Church Age.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: The Age of Grace, also called the Church Age, is the current period in biblical theology expanding from the day of Pentecost, Acts chapter two until the rapture of the Church, which we've already stated is very near.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: While the exact phrases church age does not appear verbatim in Scripture, the concept describes an era defined by specific theological characteristics distinct from previous eras, like the Old Testament Age of the Law.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Some of the key characteristics Salvation through faith.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Salvation is a free gift from God received entirely through faith in Jesus Christ, rather than by keeping ceremonial laws or performing good works.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Ephesians two eight through nine.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: The permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit, unlike in the Old Testament, where the Holy Spirit came upon individuals temporarily, the Holy Spirit permanently lives inside each believer during this church age, John fourteen, sixteen.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: The inclusion of all nations, God's redemptive focus expands broadly to include Gentiles, that is non Jews, uniting believers into one spiritual body, the church, Ephesians two, thirteen through fourteen.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: And the Great Commission, believers are commanded to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to every corner of the globe, Matthew twenty eight, nineteen through twenty.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Timeline and context in the beginning, it started on the day of Pentecost in Acts two, when the Holy Spirit descended and the first body of New Testament believers was formed.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: And prophetic theology teaches that this age will close with the rapture when Christ removes his followers from the earth, before a future period of tribulation and the ultimate fulfillment of God's promises to national Israel.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Grace through history, while this era is defined distinctively by grace, theologians note that God has always extended grace to people who trusted him.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: However, the age of grace represents the full revelation and completion of that redemptive promise through the new covenant in Jesus Christ.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss Age of Grace or the Church Age.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: The Age of Grace of the Church Age is a current period in biblical history that begins at Pentecost, Acts two, when the Holy Spirit was given, spanning a time until Christ returns for his church.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: While the exact phrase age of grace does not appear in the Bible, several key scriptures establish its foundational promises, arrival, and defining characteristics.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Matthew sixteen, eighteen.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Jesus explicitly predicts the birth of the church, stating on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Daniel nine, twenty four through twenty seven prophesies the timeline of Israel leading up to the cutting off of the Messiah, the crucifixion, creating the prophetic gap or parenthesis of an unknown length known as a church age before the final seventieth week.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Ephesians three six, Paul explains that the church, where Gentiles are fellow heirs and part of the same body through Christ, was a mystery not made known to human generations in other times, as it has now been revealed.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: So the beginning of the age, Pentecost and the Holy Spirit, Acts one eight, Jesus promised the arrival of the Holy Spirit power, which marks the operational start of the church's global witness.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Acts two, one through four and thirty two through thirty three records the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, officially inaugurating the indwelling of the Spirit in believers, characterized by grace and faith.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Titus two eleven through fourteen declares that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching believers how to live in the present age while looking for Christ's return.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Ephesians two, eight through nine highlights the core mechanism of this era, that salvation is a free gift of God through faith, not by human works.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And Romans six fourteen states that believers are not under law but under grace.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: Marking a shift is how God deals spiritually with humanity compared to the Old Testament.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Our next definition a great mountain burning with fire.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Could it be the asteroid Apophophilus?
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: In Bible graphics Cut in biblical eschatology, the great mountain burning with fire described in Revelation eight eight is symbolic or literal catastrophic divine judgment, representing the collapse of a major world power or a violent impact on global oceans.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Whether it is the asteroid nine nine four two, Apophis is a matter of speculation rather than a scriptural certainty, and mainstream science states Apophis poses no impact risk.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: Someone ran the numbers the same way that NASA did and found out that their numbers are incorrect.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I read a book about it, and I kind of believe that they wouldn't tell us if it was going to strike Earth anyways, would they?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Biblical definition and interpretations Divine Judgment in the Book of Revelation, part of the Second Trumpet Judgment, the blazing mountain is cast into the sea, turning a third of it to blood and destroying a third of ships and marine life.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: Symbolic view many theologians view mountain in apocalyptic literature as symbols for powerful kingdoms, empires, or political structures being overthrown by God's sovereignty.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Others view it as a symbol for spiritual forces or satanic opposition.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: The literal or physical view, other Bible scholars also interpret the text literally as a massive celestial body, such as a large asteroid, meteorite or comet crashing into the Earth's ocean.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: This is a perspective that I agree with.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: But you can make up your own mind.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: So the question could it be the asteroid Apophis?
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: The Apophis connection, some prophecy watchers link Apophis to biblical imagery, such as a second trumpet or the star Wormwood in Revelation eight, ten through eleven, because of its size, high profile, close approach dates, and its name.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Apophis is named after the ancient Egyptian serpent deity of chaos and darkness.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: The scientific reality, according to NASA and international tracking data, Apophis measures roughly one thousand one hundred feet across and will pass safely by the earth during its close flybys, such as in April 2029, with no known impact risk.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Again, I've said somebody else looked into those numbers and found that NASA had either made a mistake or intentionally changed them so as not to create a global panic, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: The theological caution, mainstream biblical scholars emphasize that scripture never explicitly names modern cataloged asteroids, while apocalyptic language uses vivid cosmic imagery, applying specific contemporary space rocks to prophecy often falls into speculative date setting that the text itself does not support.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss a great mountain burning with fire are as follows Revelation eight eight the burning mountain.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: Then the second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea turned into blood.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Revelation eight, ten through eleven, wormwood follows immediately after describing a great star burning like a torch named Wormwood that falls on a third of the rivers and springs, making the waters bitter.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: There is also an asteroid named Wormwood.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Other Old Testament echoes.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Passages like Jeremiah fifty one twenty five use destroying mountain as symbolic language for kingdoms, specifically Babylon being thrown down.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Could it be the asteroid Apophis?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: The speculation, some modern prophecy teachers and internet commentators link the asteroid nine forty two Apophis, named after the ancient Egyptian serpent god of chaos and destruction, to these apocalyptic descriptions, noting its close approaches to Earth.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: The skepticism or context.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Most biblical scholars and theologians interpret the burning mountain and wormwood symbolically or as supernatural estatology judgments rather than predicting a specific modern day named asteroid.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Furthermore, Apophis is scientifically projected to pass safely by Earth without hitting it.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: Our next term, a great star burning like a torch.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: Could it be wormwood?
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: A great star blazing like a torch, that is named wormwood, refers to a catastrophic end time's judgment described in Revelation eight through eleven, where it falls upon a third of the world's freshwater rivers and springs, turning them bitterly toxic and causing widespread death.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: The biblical definition and context The text Revelation eight ten through eleven states that when the third angel sounds his trumpet, a blazing star falls from the sky.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: The third trumpet, this event is the third of seven trumpet judgments in the book of Revelation, marking a period of severe divine retribution during the tribulation.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: The effect the star poisons one third of the earth's freshwater sources, rivers and springs, making them taste as bitter as wormwood oil, which results in the death of many people who drink from them.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Could it be wormwood?
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Yes, it is literally named wormwood.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: The text explicitly names the star wormwood.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: The meaning of the name Wormwood is a real, intensely bitter herb that has long been used in the Old Testament as a metaphor for extreme sorrow, calamity, and the bitter consequences of sin and turning away from God.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Literal versus symbolic views A literal interpretation many Bible scholars view the star as a literal physical object, such as a blazing meteorite, asteroid, or comet entering into the atmosphere that physically impacts and contaminates water supplies.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Others view it literally as a celestial or angelic messenger of judgment.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Symbolic spiritual interpretation some interpret the star and its bitterness as a metaphor for spiritual corruption, false teaching, or the bitter anguish that engulfs the earth during the times of severe societal religious departure from God.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Again, not that you need my opinion, but I go with the fact that it's probably an asteroid, and as some of the many that have hit our earth, this one will be sizable enough to do exactly what God said it would do.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss a great star burning like a torch are as follows Revelation eight eleven.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on springs of water.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: The name of the star is wormwood.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Context in the Book of Revelation This event is part of the trumpet judgments in the book of Revelation, chapter eight and nine, where sequential catastrophic warnings hit the earth.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: The first trumpet, Revelation eight seven, hail and fire mixed with blood strikes the earth, burning up a third of the trees and grass.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: The second trumpet, Revelation eight, eight through nine, a burning mountain is thrown into the sea, turning a third of the sea to blood and destroying sea life and ships.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: The third trumpet, Revelation eight, ten through eleven, the falling star Wormwood lands on freshwater sources, rivers and springs, making them toxic, bitter, and deadly.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: So there's a literal and symbolic interpretation.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Many Bible commentators view this as a literal celestial body, such as a meteor common or asteroid, entering the atmosphere, burning like a torch and contaminating water supplies, potentially via toxic minerals or heavy metals.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Others view it as symbolically as a major historical catastrophe, a political empire, or a spiritual judgment representing bitter sorrow and affliction sent upon human systems.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Our next term Alpha and Omega, the first and last, the beginning and the end.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Alpha and Omega, the first and the last and the beginning and the end, are divine titles in the Bible that describe the eternal, unchanging, and all encompassing nature of God and Jesus Christ.

- 30:02SPEAKER_00: The full alphabet, because all words are formed using letters from start to finish, these letters symbolize that God contains, oversees, and comprehends all of existence.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Interchangeable phrases, the Book of Revelation pairs these Greek letters directly with the phrases the first and the last and the beginning and the end to explain their exact meaning.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Biblical usage these phrases appear exclusively in the Book of Revelation at Revelation 1 eight seventeen through eighteen, twenty one six, and twenty two thirteen, and find roots in the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, Isaiah forty four six, where God declares He is the first and the last, and besides him there is no other God.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: The key theological meanings Eternality, God has no beginning and no end.

- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Sovereignty, he is the author of creation and brings all history and human life to its ultimate purposeful conclusion, the deity of Christ.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: In Revelation both the Lord God and Jesus apply these exact same titles to themselves, linking the identity of Jesus directly to the eternal Almighty God.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Some of the scriptures that discuss the Alpha Omega, the first and last, in the beginning and the end.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Revelation one eight, I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come?

- 32:08SPEAKER_00: I am the first and I am the last.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Besides me there is no God.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: And Isaiah forty eight twelve.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Listen to me, O Jacob and Israel, whom I called.
