- 0:00Speaker 1: Danny and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:04Speaker 3: We're getting closer to Labor Day weekend, which is closer
- 0:07Speaker 3: to cooler temperatures.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I look at the weather every morning when I wake
- 0:12Speaker 2: up and just be like, okay, Only a couple more
- 0:15Speaker 2: days of it being really hot, right? By Sunday, it
- 0:17Speaker 2: doesn't look too bad.
- 0:18Speaker 1: But then, yeah, I don't know if you looked into
- 0:20Speaker 1: next week.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. Okay.
- 0:22Speaker 1: By Sunday, it doesn't look too bad. It's Sunday and Monday.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah. We're going to get deep into my weather app here.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It like goes in waves, right? Like we have maybe
- 0:32Speaker 2: some rain that will cool things off. Gets hot again.
- 0:35Speaker 2: A little more rain cools things off. Yeah. Yeah. Like
- 0:40Speaker 2: find a pool.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Or find a friend with a pool. The lake, you know,
- 0:45Speaker 1: someone with a boat.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That's a good idea, too.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Or just stay in your air conditioner and never leave it.
- 0:51Speaker 2: That sounds like a good plan as well.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know what it is you're up
- 0:53Speaker 3: to this weekend, but those all might be great options
- 0:57Speaker 3: for you. We've got money back in the New Country
- 1:01Speaker 3: Cash jackpot. We did not get a winner yesterday.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Thousand bucks today.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Thousand dollars for you to win on Thursday.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that always sounds so much fun. 8.50 will tell
- 1:11Speaker 1: you what time to win at Danny and Cole.
- 1:13Speaker 2: They did what? Football season is upon us. And so
- 1:19Speaker 2: you will see a lot of people rocking their team's gear. Now,
- 1:23Speaker 2: I've got a Colts hat on today. But this one,
- 1:25Speaker 2: kind of interesting. This guy, he was dressed in a
- 1:29Speaker 2: Packers robe and a Packers cheese head, you know? And
- 1:33Speaker 2: then he went and robbed a bar. And they found
- 1:37Speaker 2: him down the road still rocking all his Packers gear,
- 1:39Speaker 2: just like in a bush hanging out with a six-pack
- 1:41Speaker 2: white cloth.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Didn't quite think that all the way through.
- 1:45Speaker 2: No, it doesn't seem so.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Like, oh, yeah, this bush, this will be a good
- 1:49Speaker 1: hiding spot.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Well, you're still wearing the same exact noticeable gear.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Whereas, like, just everybody in Green Bay, Wisconsin, also wearing
- 1:58Speaker 2: that all the time. Like, I'll blend right in.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Maybe, but as a Bears fan, this goes ahead and
- 2:02Speaker 1: proves my point. Packers fans, come on.
- 2:05Speaker 2: So shocking, it'll make your jaw drop. He clicked on
- 2:08Speaker 2: it so you don't have to. It's Clickbait Cole on
- 2:13Speaker 2: Hank FM. There's an online post that's going viral where
- 2:16Speaker 2: someone says, it's kind of crazy that months are different lengths.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I got to do the thing with my fist where
- 2:21Speaker 2: I'm like 31.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, where it falls.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Then you have February in there and that one's a
- 2:25Speaker 2: 30 and that one's a 31. So why not make
- 2:28Speaker 2: five equal months of 73 days each?
- 2:33Speaker 1: Like a month that never ends.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Like this is just so long.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It would be so long. And just like, think of
- 2:42Speaker 2: like the holidays in those months that now, okay, wait,
- 2:46Speaker 2: hold on. All of a sudden is, you know, yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So Thanksgiving in December or October.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Or what do we call them?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't want to sound dumb, but I'm going
- 2:57Speaker 3: to ask this question out loud anyway.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Who decided that? the 12 month thing.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Um like how did we settle on one the names
- 3:09Speaker 3: of them and two how long they should be and
- 3:12Speaker 3: three that we're gonna have 12 of them like i
- 3:14Speaker 3: don't i i'm sure somewhere along the line have something
- 3:17Speaker 3: to do with stars because isn't everything have to do
- 3:19Speaker 3: with stars and constellations but where did if you know
- 3:23Speaker 3: where did they come.
- 3:24Speaker 2: From Well, what was the calendar that everyone was worried
- 3:28Speaker 2: that was ending the Aztec calendar in 2012? Remember that?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 3: What was the thing that happened while I was on
- 3:35Speaker 3: vacation where Rob told me that, like, the Earth was
- 3:37Speaker 3: going to stop having gravity?
- 3:38Speaker 1: I saw that, too.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Like, we're going to lose gravity for seven seconds or
- 3:43Speaker 2: something like that. It didn't happen.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't think it did, anyway.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Not here, not where I was.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But are those the people making up the calendar?
- 3:51Speaker 3: 97.1 Hank FM. When's the last time or have you
- 3:55Speaker 3: ever watched Dancing with the Stars? I.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I dancing with the stars is not my thing. Although
- 4:02Speaker 2: I did host recently a gala that was dancing with
- 4:05Speaker 2: the stars.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I did dancing with the stars before.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Uh, it was, I was terrible, terrible. Yeah. I mean,
- 4:11Speaker 2: I wouldn't have been any good either.
- 4:13Speaker 3: People are up in arms though about this year's cast.
- 4:15Speaker 3: They always get the mix of like, who are these people?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Which is me most of the time when I look
- 4:19Speaker 3: at them. Uh, but some are saying that it might
- 4:21Speaker 3: be cheating for a couple of the people on this list.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Uh, saying that they already have dancing backgrounds.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I feel like that has happened before.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, definitely. Jenna Dewan, who was in, what is
- 4:36Speaker 1: the movie?
- 4:36Speaker 3: Step Up was her first movie where she literally played
- 4:40Speaker 3: a dancer.
- 4:42Speaker 1: With Channing Tatum. Then everyone's mocking Julia Stiles.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Like, she went to Juilliard for dancing and saved the
- 4:48Speaker 3: last dance. How can she possibly be on this list?
- 4:53Speaker 1: I have a lot of friends who are freaking out
- 4:54Speaker 1: about Taylor Hanson.
- 4:55Speaker 2: That's what I was going to ask you.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Being on this one.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I was never much of a Hanson girl. But if
- 5:00Speaker 3: you got into Hanson back in the day, you're still
- 5:03Speaker 3: into Hanson now.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Like, you've... They're very passionate fans.
- 5:07Speaker 2: What about this person that was in Glee? Wouldn't Glee
- 5:10Speaker 2: include some dancing?
- 5:11Speaker 1: I don't... I don't know. Do you have a favorite
- 5:13Speaker 1: to win the mirror ball trophy? And are you watching
- 5:16Speaker 1: this season?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Danny and Cole 97, one Hank FM. I don't know
- 5:21Speaker 3: if it's been because of the weather because of this
- 5:24Speaker 3: time of year, things have just kind of felt like
- 5:29Speaker 3: everything feels hard lately to do it.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like this is what I've said before
- 5:36Speaker 2: about summer. When you're not in school anymore, you don't
- 5:40Speaker 2: get summer break and summer can feel very long. I know.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I just feel like every little thing that I've had
- 5:45Speaker 3: to do has been like a little bit of a struggle.
- 5:47Speaker 3: And I've just been like in this funky mood where
- 5:51Speaker 3: I don't want to rub. I'm one of those people
- 5:52Speaker 3: when I'm in like a weird mood, I don't want
- 5:54Speaker 3: to rub it off on anyone else. And so I
- 5:55Speaker 3: just kind of like put myself in my own little
- 5:58Speaker 3: island to deal with it instead of actually dealing with it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I just kind of ignore it myself. But then we
- 6:04Speaker 1: saw this thing that said, you know what?
- 6:06Speaker 3: If you're in a bad mood, if you're not feeling
- 6:08Speaker 3: that great, just know that even some of the best
- 6:11Speaker 3: places on earth have bad reviews. Like not everyone's going
- 6:15Speaker 3: to like you. Not everything's going to feel great all
- 6:17Speaker 3: the time. I mean, I just saw the story that
- 6:19Speaker 3: they have to repair Dolly's star in the Hollywood Walk
- 6:22Speaker 3: of Fame because people were vandalizing Dolly Parton's star on
- 6:25Speaker 3: the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
- 6:26Speaker 1: So we've got some things to maybe make you smile today.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Some of the best places on earth with the bad
- 6:33Speaker 3: reviews that go with them.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Coming up in two songs. It's Annie and Cole on Hank.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I follow.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I like. I share. Annie and Cole on Hank FM.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Saw this post on Instagram that said, if you're feeling bad,
- 6:48Speaker 3: just remember, even the prettiest places on earth have bad reviews.
- 6:51Speaker 3: And I saw one that was focusing on Glacier National Park.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Zero stars.
- 6:57Speaker 3: If you want to fight with your wife and get
- 6:59Speaker 3: a divorce, just go to Glacier National Park. Again, probably
- 7:05Speaker 3: nothing that has to do with Glacier National Park, but
- 7:08Speaker 3: still getting the bad review.
- 7:11Speaker 2: You told me this off air and I was like,
- 7:13Speaker 2: that is actually very funny. Let me go look at
- 7:17Speaker 2: a few other ones. And so here's what I found.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Some of these places, you know, like some of the
- 7:21Speaker 2: prettiest places in In the world. Like Yellowstone National Park,
- 7:25Speaker 2: where this one says, not enough Wi-Fi. Grand Canyon. It's
- 7:31Speaker 2: too big.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Statue of Liberty. When is the last time somebody cleaned it?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Death Valley National Park. It's like visiting a giant litter box.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Walt Disney World. Too much walking. And finally, the last
- 7:48Speaker 2: one I have for you is the San Diego Zoo.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And it says, all the animals are asleep.
- 7:54Speaker 3: So just remember, if you're having a bad day, even
- 7:58Speaker 3: the best places get bad reviews.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Something you want to say? Give Annie and Cole a call. 317-663-9797.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Good morning. Dennis from Speedway. How are you guys doing?
- 8:09Speaker 1: We're good.
- 8:10Speaker 2: What's up, dude? Well, I hear you guys talking about,
- 8:12Speaker 2: you know, even the happiest places have bad reviews. One,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I didn't hear you say, and I don't know if
- 8:19Speaker 2: it's possible, but the Indianapolis Motor Speedway... Cars are on
- 8:25Speaker 2: the track. It's always a good time. I was trying
- 8:27Speaker 2: to find one for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The best
- 8:32Speaker 2: one I got was it said you could hear the
- 8:35Speaker 2: cars before you can see them. All right. That's called anticipation. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 2: there you go.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Danny and Cole 97 one Hank FM. I don't know
- 8:48Speaker 3: how we got here, but today I feel like we're
- 8:50Speaker 3: just ranking and rating everything.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I actually saw another radio friend do this. They
- 8:56Speaker 2: put this prompt into the internet AI and asked it
- 9:01Speaker 2: to like, how cool am I? I don't think I
- 9:05Speaker 2: want to know. I don't think I want to know.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I am.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Cause how would you rank yourself? Out of 10.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Seven, maybe?
- 9:15Speaker 1: I give myself like a six and a half.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. I was
- 9:18Speaker 2: like a soft seven.
- 9:19Speaker 1: This job might be the only thing that kind of
- 9:21Speaker 1: keeps me above the five.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Well, we asked my niece, Quinley, that one day. What
- 9:25Speaker 2: did she say? Eight? She give me an eight?
- 9:27Speaker 1: I think.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll take an eight. Okay.
- 9:31Speaker 1: So we're going to ask the question.
- 9:32Speaker 3: You could ask this too about yourself because we want
- 9:34Speaker 3: to know how cool do you think you are?
- 9:38Speaker 1: And what does the internet think of you?
- 9:41Speaker 2: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 9:43Speaker 2: to know. So I saw somebody else do this online.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I'm like, I wonder what it would say about us.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So I don't know why you want to know. I
- 9:52Speaker 1: don't want to know the answer to this.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I threw it into AI and asked how cool we are. Okay. Which,
- 10:01Speaker 2: before we reveal what it said, what's your guess? What
- 10:04Speaker 2: do you think about yourself?
- 10:06Speaker 1: How cool do I think I am?
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Or us together?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Both.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Us together, I'll give us a seven.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Me, 6.5.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Individually, we bring it down. Together, we bring it up
- 10:20Speaker 2: to a strong 7.
- 10:22Speaker 1: A solid 7.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Here's what it said about me. It said your cool
- 10:28Speaker 2: strengths are you have an us Indiana Hoosier identity. Okay.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Don't take radio too seriously. You're comfortable being silly. Marathon
- 10:37Speaker 2: running credibility. A sports guy without making everything about sports.
- 10:41Speaker 2: And then the family man angle makes you more relatable.
- 10:46Speaker 2: There's probably a tiny bit of, quote, radio guy who
- 10:50Speaker 2: knows he's a radio guy lurking in there. Keep that
- 10:53Speaker 2: in check and you're golden. Okay. Which, by the way,
- 10:57Speaker 2: I like made it. We were with some friends this
- 10:58Speaker 2: weekend and someone had made a joke about like wanting
- 11:02Speaker 2: all the attention on them. And then I had made
- 11:04Speaker 2: another joke similar to that. I'd be like, that's why
- 11:06Speaker 2: I'm on the radio. And one of our friends laughed
- 11:09Speaker 2: a little too hard at it. I'm like, oh, OK, cool.
- 11:12Speaker 2: But it gave me. Are you ready for this? Out
- 11:16Speaker 2: of 10. OK. A 9.3. All right. Well.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Just to summarize, I'm a 9.4.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Oh, no! According to ChatGBT, because.
- 11:26Speaker 2: You beat me.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Your particular brand of cool seems to be, quote, funny, approachable,
- 11:32Speaker 3: slightly chaotic, but surprisingly competent. I don't know if that's...
- 11:38Speaker 3: I mean, I guess that's a good way to be described,
- 11:41Speaker 3: but I'm not exactly sure. So what do you think?
- 11:44Speaker 1: How cool do you think you are? And then go
- 11:48Speaker 1: ahead and ask the internet. What they have to say
- 11:51Speaker 1: about you today.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 11:55Speaker 2: to know.
- 11:56Speaker 3: How cool do you think you are versus how cool
- 11:58Speaker 3: does the internet think you are?
- 12:01Speaker 2: We have asked. It gave me a 9.3.
- 12:03Speaker 3: You a 9.4.
- 12:03Speaker 2: So what do you think? 317-663-9797. Good morning. Good morning.
- 12:12Speaker 3: How are y'all?
- 12:13Speaker 2: We're doing good. What you got for us today?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Well, I think I used to be cool. I drove
- 12:18Speaker 1: a tie-dye car. I worked at a theme park. I
- 12:21Speaker 1: had a ton of friends.
- 12:22Speaker 2: But now....
- 12:24Speaker 1: I pick up hair ties and hurt off lights as
- 12:26Speaker 1: a hobby.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Right. I have told Annie this so many times that
- 12:31Speaker 2: college coal was the coolest coal. Like that was the
- 12:35Speaker 2: coolest version of me. I had a bunch of friends.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I was like out all the time, like hanging out
- 12:39Speaker 2: with them and like going to bars and do all
- 12:41Speaker 2: that stuff. And now if I'm out past eight, I'm
- 12:44Speaker 2: like this past my bedtime. I'm ready to go to sleep. Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:49Speaker 3: So current you, what are you ranking yourself out of
- 12:52Speaker 3: 10 on a coolness level?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Ooh, I'd say about a seven. You're kinder to yourself
- 12:58Speaker 1: than I was to me.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I gave myself a 6.5.
- 13:03Speaker 2: On the Armor Air text line, we have another response
- 13:05Speaker 2: to this. It says, I asked how cool I am
- 13:08Speaker 2: on a scale of one to 10, and this is
- 13:09Speaker 2: what it gave me. An 8.7. Apparently 15 acres, two
- 13:13Speaker 2: Bernice Mountain dogs, teaching dental students, and being a youth
- 13:17Speaker 2: theater mom put me firmly in the cool category of
- 13:20Speaker 2: I lost points for chronic overthinking, executive dysfunction, and a
- 13:25Speaker 2: kitchen sink that has repeatedly defeated me. And honestly, I'll
- 13:30Speaker 2: take the 8.7. Annie and Cole, 97.1 Hank FM.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I'm glad y'all are being good sports and playing along
- 13:38Speaker 3: with this. How cool do you think you are?
- 13:39Speaker 2: I love this. Are you ready for Jen on the
- 13:42Speaker 2: Armory Air text line who got an 11.7 out of 10? Whoa,
- 13:44Speaker 2: cool kid. Here's what it says. This is the evidence
- 13:49Speaker 2: for it. You have porch goose plus porch dinosaur energy.
- 13:56Speaker 2: You're out here raising pitcher plant babies like a proud
- 13:58Speaker 2: plant grandma. You have 30 plus years of early childhood
- 14:03Speaker 2: experience and you're going back for your bachelor's.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 14:06Speaker 2: You make work stuff fun instead of boring for everyone.
- 14:09Speaker 2: You appreciate cows. This alone earned significant points. And most importantly,
- 14:16Speaker 2: you have asked at 7.42 in the morning what your
- 14:19Speaker 2: coolness rating is.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Okay, that works.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Cool. What was it? 11? 11.7 out of 10. That
- 14:25Speaker 2: is our highest rating yet.
- 14:26Speaker 1: The coolest person we might know right there.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Good news. I need some good news. Send me sipping
- 14:34Speaker 2: on cold soup. Right here. Annie and Cole on Hank FM.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Let's all take a collective deep breath together.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And push out all of the bad, all of the yuck.
- 14:46Speaker 3: As we take a look at your good news stories,
- 14:48Speaker 3: you can always share yours with us at 317-663-9797. I
- 14:53Speaker 3: think this is, is it your wife that has this
- 14:56Speaker 3: goal to run marathons in every state?
- 14:59Speaker 2: She does. We are at the end of the month
- 15:00Speaker 2: going to do one in Iowa for her. Well, she's
- 15:03Speaker 2: doing it. I'm not doing it. She is running in Iowa.
- 15:06Speaker 1: How many has she done? Do you know off the
- 15:08Speaker 1: top of your head?
- 15:08Speaker 2: 11? Okay.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I mean, that's significant. I mean, because you're not just
- 15:12Speaker 1: like me. I'm trying to visit. You're actually doing something.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Pretty full of commitment.
- 15:18Speaker 2: It's hard to like, especially with the school schedule, she's
- 15:22Speaker 2: got to plan around the school schedule and hope that
- 15:25Speaker 2: a race falls within that schedule and it's a place
- 15:28Speaker 2: that we can go to that's not going to break
- 15:30Speaker 2: the bank.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Well, Emma Tillman out of Carmel, 17 years later, she's
- 15:35Speaker 3: now part of that special club.
- 15:37Speaker 1: She has done 50, all 50 states. That's amazing. Finished
- 15:41Speaker 1: it in Alaska.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Also cool.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Which, this is what we were talking about when my
- 15:46Speaker 3: best friend and I were, our goal is 50 states.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I'm ending in Delaware.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Like, she saved it, like, her 49th was the 49th
- 15:56Speaker 3: state of Alaska, and her 50th is going to be Hawaii.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That's a pretty cool way to celebrate it. Delaware will
- 16:01Speaker 2: be cool. Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 1: But we need good news today, right?
- 16:06Speaker 2: I got a couple different stories for you here. One
- 16:08Speaker 2: about a landlord in Milwaukee was cleaning out a vacated
- 16:11Speaker 2: apartment and then made an incredible discovery. An original Pablo
- 16:15Speaker 2: Picasso etching that was stolen from a gallery in 2018
- 16:19Speaker 2: immediately turned it into police. Gallery owners later confirmed that
- 16:23Speaker 2: when it disappeared, it was worth about $ 50, 000. Another kind
- 16:26Speaker 2: of similar story, a family in England, they discovered a
- 16:30Speaker 2: small fortune sitting in an old jewelry box. They were
- 16:33Speaker 2: cleaning out some stuff, found a 1930s wristwatch that sold
- 16:39Speaker 2: for nearly $ 80, 000 at auction. I need to start cleaning
- 16:44Speaker 2: out my junk, right? Annie and Cole, weekday mornings 6
