- 0:00The following program is produced by the Tech Talk Radio Network. Welcome to another
- 0:05episode of tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor. I'm Justin LEMMI man,
- 0:10we have the show that talks about computers technology. Wait, where's Sean?
- 0:15Wait, Sean is having to get her to trouble. Oh, that's why
- 0:18we did this this way. It's really difficult to do a tech show when
- 0:22your guy's having internet out. It's this is this is the life of being
- 0:27a tech guy. Like we're like, hey, we're gonna record the show,
- 0:31and he's like, oh, yeah, I got internet issues. I'm
- 0:32gonna reboot my modem and then he comes back. I don't know what the
- 0:35problem is. Guys like, yeah, it's probably your ISP. Well,
- 0:38I'm wondering. Wasn't he supposed to they were putting fiber in his neighborhood.
- 0:43I'm kind of wondering. Did he finally? Was he gonna Was he gonna
- 0:46show up today and say I got fiber, I'm faster than any of you,
- 0:52And now he's dead in the water. Yeah, well, you know
- 0:56that very well could have been. But then I would just send him a
- 0:58screenshot of my speed test because as I actually have true gigabet fiber. As
- 1:02a matter of fact, at work, it was funny we put in dual
- 1:06fiber internet circus. So now we've got two gigs up and down, which
- 1:10is what he's supposed to be getting, right, Yeah, it's supposed to
- 1:12be I think he said, yeah, two gigs up and down. He
- 1:15couldn't find like a where you got a gig up and a gig down.
- 1:19It was always you know, gig up and maybe three hundred down. I
- 1:23ended up. You know what, this is a good I think then that
- 1:26is still amazing. It really is. I mean I I you know,
- 1:29I have an Exfinity and you know, they kept telling me, oh,
- 1:32it's faster, it's faster. It's like, where is it faster? So
- 1:36I went ahead and I did a hard reset on the modem, you know,
- 1:38completely shut out the modum, disconnected everything, shut down the router.
- 1:42Then brought the modum back after a good but ten minutes, then brought the
- 1:47router back and yeah, my speed increased to one point one point three.
- 1:52So I'm yep. I'm like, well, you know, honestly, I
- 1:56have kind of the same issue in my home, Like I don't even use
- 1:59the Bilton Wi Fi router of my century Link or I guess now they're called
- 2:05Lumen, right, I don't know, but what they're giving. They actually
- 2:07gave you one with your account, So if you wanted to use that as
- 2:10a Wi Fi router with the modem, you could, Oh yeah, sure
- 2:14you definitely could. But I I I'm basically putting my WiFi modem or I'm
- 2:21sorry, internet modem slash Wi Fi router into like a bridge mode and then
- 2:25it connects to my A sous router, and the A sous router acts as
- 2:31my wired router slash gateway and also the wireless router slash gateway. Um.
- 2:38But I even find that probably every two weeks or so, I need to
- 2:44reboot the modem by routed by Lumen, and I need to reboot my A
- 2:51sous router. It just it helps, I don't know, man, It
- 2:53just something about it, like you just have to reboot your stuff every once
- 2:59in a while and on that and that includes your computer too, all right,
- 3:01I mean, oh yeah obviously, because I'll go a week and a
- 3:05half two weeks without rebooting the computer unless the window Windows pushes an update where
- 3:08I have no choice. But I mean, I've gone that route. I've
- 3:12never even thought about this idea of rebooting the modem and the router. I
- 3:19speaking of just rebooting your computer, I actually ran across this at work.
- 3:23Somebody called me. I'm not going to mention names, okay. Somebody called
- 3:25me and said, hey, I just can't open up any programs on my
- 3:30computer. Like every time I try to do it, it just nothing happens.
- 3:34Right, And I'm like, all right, all right, let me
- 3:35check it out. So I jump onto like the screen Connect, which is
- 3:38our software that we use to do remote control. And every computer is registered
- 3:44to screen connect, so the computer reports its data to screen connect, so
- 3:49I can see it like it's IP addressed its computer name. How long it's
- 3:53been up. That's where the problem was. Oh no, how long had
- 4:00had his computer been up? This computer had been up for seven hundred and
- 4:04sixty two days. I want to say, oh my lord, really,
- 4:09And I was like, dude, do you ever reboot this computer? He's
- 4:12no, no at all, because it runs our sprinkler system. I'm like,
- 4:15okay, yeah, but is the sprinklers running at this very moment?
- 4:19No? Right, So probably you could go ahead and reboot the computer.
- 4:25And then the sprinklers will run at the same time next morning. Yeah,
- 4:29it's all automated, right, Yeah, seven hundred and sixty two plus days.
- 4:32Wow. Well, the good news is Sean has just popped into the
- 4:36show. We're hoping his microphone is working, is it, Sean? Give
- 4:41us the thumbs up or thumbs down? Yeah? Except one. Oh you're
- 4:46using your phone? Are you? So? Okay? So we've been talking
- 4:49about you know, the fact is you're getting fiber in your neighborhood, which
- 4:55is a great thing. We thought maybe you bit the bullet and you said,
- 4:58that's it. I've got fiber two gay up, two gigs down,
- 5:00and now it's something. Is that the case. I'm not sure. I
- 5:05turned it back over to Exfinity because I still have ex City right now.
- 5:11So I think I'm connected now. I'm just don't checking, but uh yeah,
- 5:15not sure. I just came downstairs. We head intern earlier and it
- 5:19was working, and now I'm back on Exfinity. It looks like I have
- 5:21connectivity now. So all right, so do you do you want to you
- 5:25want to try us back because your phone connection in the audio is just really
- 5:30awful. It's not good. Well, he's in the baseball so, yeah,
- 5:38seven hundred and sixty two days or something like seven hundred and sixty two
- 5:42days something crazy. I don't remember exactly, but I really wanted to like
- 5:46go off in this guy, like, dude, you got to reboot these
- 5:49computers, like I just it goes back to my other point being an IT
- 5:55person my whole career, I've been an IT person. Older people were ray
- 6:00in a generation where there's not a lot of computers, and I give it
- 6:04to them. I give it. I understand, Okay, you got a
- 6:06problem with your computer, I'll help you out. But these young people that
- 6:11have been raised in a generation with computers, and I've said this before,
- 6:15there is no excuse for you not to understand how to operate a smartphone or
- 6:24a computer. Because you were raised in that generation. You know how to
- 6:30turn off a computer or to reboot a phone. But yet people's stupidity amazes
- 6:35me. But you know what worries to me about this situation. But this
- 6:39guy keeping in computer on so long, and any of you listening to this
- 6:44that have not rebooted your computer in it now a great amount of time or
- 6:48wait, wait, wait till after the show. Yeah you might wait if
- 6:50you're listening to this online. Yeah, but here's the deal. You're you're
- 6:56also then at telling me you haven't done secarity updates. Yeah, you haven't
- 7:00done some of the things that you need to do to make sure your system
- 7:04is running at optimum. Most of those Windows updates require a restart, most
- 7:11all of them, and sometimes it will autodo. So I don't know how
- 7:14you've been able to bypass that for so long. But again that's saying other
- 7:18other kind of issues that that has been up that long. Let me give
- 7:21it the ending to this story. Oh there is an ending? Is it
- 7:24a happy ending? No? Guys, well, it depends on how you
- 7:28look at it. All right, this computer was also running Windows seven,
- 7:31okay, And so I said, all right, you know what I'm taking
- 7:34this computer with mere stating it. I'm confiscating it. I'm the it manager.
- 7:41Yeah. And the guy's like, no, no, no, we
- 7:42need it to water our lawns. I'm like, well, I guess you're
- 7:45doing it by hand, right, he's talking about the automation. No,
- 7:48come on, And I said, it's also a security liability. Give me
- 7:53twenty four hours, I'll reimage it and we'll give it back to you with
- 7:57a you know, brand new installation of Windows eleven in with a software blah
- 8:01blah blah. Sure there'd be a way to bypass that in most cases.
- 8:05I mean, do you mean that's well to bypass that? Maybe? Is
- 8:09there are another way? Because obviously it's switching on and off the waters throughout
- 8:13the golf course. It's controlled by a computer program. Really yeah, I
- 8:16mean there's a specialty. There's a specialty. Uh, I think I want
- 8:20to say PCI probably not even PCIe, but PCI card and it. Oh
- 8:26that's got a lot of dongles attached to it. Well, hopefully talk to
- 8:30the different with the updated system it would work, because they will find out
- 8:35tomorrow. That's you know, that's the problem. A lot of you listening
- 8:37that have businesses that maybe you're using a software program to maybe print T shirts
- 8:43or to run certain machines within your business, and they haven't grown with the
- 8:48times, or you decided I bought it one time and I'm not going to
- 8:52upgrade the license because it's too expensive. But see, that's the problems you
- 8:56can run into if you're running off us well, or even government institutions or
- 9:03educational institutions. We saw the big ransomware attack here in Tucson, and now
- 9:09they're finding out all kinds of stuff, and they're finding out that the budget
- 9:13that they had is not allowing them to upgrade them to today's standards, which
- 9:16they need to be because they are a prime target. There are just an
- 9:20absolute prime target for that. So again, I mean, that is a
- 9:24good reason to upgrade the systems. And if it means upgrading and having to
- 9:28pay for the software upgrade for a specific software program you're using, that's probably
- 9:33going to be worth it now, it will say. Though, on a
- 9:35side note, if you're running a system that has special network connections that does
- 9:41not go out to the Internet, and it works on specialized softwares and it
- 9:46is still running maybe under Window seven or even older OSS, then sometimes you
- 9:52don't have to begin if it's not reaching out to the internet, but it
- 9:54always something is something that should be thought of. But if it is a
- 9:58system that goes out onto the internet, yeah, without the security updates,
- 10:01you're running into all kinds of problems. I mean, you think about it.
- 10:05You could be down for a day or two while your computer gets upgraded,
- 10:11reimaged, whatever it is, or you could pay a million dollars to
- 10:20have your computers seized by hackers demanding ransomware or else. They won't let you
- 10:24have your system back, which controls a multimillion dollar facility, and there goes
- 10:31your operation. Yeah, so think about it. Yeah, you upgrade it
- 10:37while you can keep it updated, keeps security practices in place, and then
- 10:41you shouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff. I'm doing this,
- 10:46matter of fact, in the next week or two for a gentleman that actually
- 10:48does own a printing company. And I went and I've done a hard drive
- 10:56upgrade for them before, where they had a hard drive die and it turns
- 11:01out the plastic was broken on the hard drive, so I switched one out
- 11:05where got all his data go and he was fine. But to my horror,
- 11:09they're running Windows XP and he was complaining because he said he couldn't get
- 11:15onto any browsers that you know, Chrome wasn't working anymore, and Internet Explorer
- 11:20of course wasn't working anymore, and he was having no luck. And now
- 11:24I think I recommend it. I said, well, I think you may
- 11:26get some luck. I've used Opera and I think he may have tried it
- 11:30for a little while and now that's not working. So they finally decided they're
- 11:33gonna They're gonna update their system. And it looks like what we're gonna do?
- 11:37You know, they're big concerned. Is this software program that works.
- 11:41They weren't sure if it would work under Windows ten, but it works under
- 11:46Windows XP. They weren't sure. So I told him, I said,
- 11:50well, your your I could come give you a loaner system. You could
- 11:54test install your software on it and go that route. But why bother,
- 11:58why don't we just go the other route. You're gonna need to upgrade your
- 12:01system anyways, buy a new computer, which they're doing, so I'm I'm
- 12:05specking one out for them, and then we're gonna try PC mover. I've
- 12:11had good luck with that in the past. We're gonna try and see if
- 12:13we can just move the files over that way, see if that'll work.
- 12:16If not, we'll do a reinstalled and see and if it means him having
- 12:18to spend more money to keep his operation going, he's ready to do that.
- 12:22Finally, Sure, good, So that's gonna be the way to go.
- 12:26I think we might have Sean back, but she's right now, yeah,
- 12:31all right, I'm back, all right, good. Good to have
- 12:35your back. Nothing's a lot of stuff is not working right now in my
- 12:39house. So now any idea what happened? No lights? Yeah, well
- 12:43right now, I'm on Axfinity, so I'm not on metro Net all right,
- 12:46So Metronet not giving the ideas, not giving me out, not giving
- 12:50me an output. But it really upset my wise light bulbs apparently that's why
- 12:56I'm not blue that you're sitting on the video. I'm not I'm not sitting
- 12:58in the dark. But you know, honestly, this this actually looks better,
- 13:01it really does. It focuses more on your beautiful face in the background.
- 13:11Yeah. No, so we you know, we we were having some
- 13:13issues like with our phones earlier and I didn't think anything of it, right,
- 13:16so, you know, just defaulted to our you know, five G.
- 13:20But the cell phone coverage in our neighborhood has gotten significantly worse, significantly
- 13:28worse over the last Yeah. So I'm talking one bar sometimes no bars and
- 13:33service. So and it's it's come up in our HIA meetings, has come
- 13:39up in our neighborhood meetings, has come up in our county meetings. Is
- 13:41it on next door? I'm sure you're finding that on next door it's face
- 13:45the Facebook group. Well, kay, lets sees it on the Facebook group
- 13:46next door. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, I'm not sure what no,
- 13:52no, I am, I'm sorry. I get on there now just
- 13:56to read. I just think it's funny just because I'm not I'm not getting
- 14:03any so as I go over to Metronet, it gives me nothing. So
- 14:07now what met they're not quite ready Metronet is this new service you're going to
- 14:11be jumping over to correct? Yeah, my Metronet is is a fiber provider,
- 14:15at least in this part of the country. Um, and it's been
- 14:18great for the last week that I've had it, right, Oh, so
- 14:22you've already had it for a week and then it just oh yeah, yeah,
- 14:24I've had it for you know. Uh, you know, we didn't
- 14:28do a show last week, and uh I did. I got I got
- 14:31it two days after the last show that we recorded. Sorry being Sean didn't
- 14:37do it. Yes, I were not available last week. I had show.
- 14:41I had to do my own all right, Dad, did you test
- 14:43the speeds on the Yeah, I was getting about eight ninety up about nine.
- 14:52Well, um, that's okay. You know what I was going to
- 14:56make fun of you. But that's actually pretty close to what I was getting.
- 14:58I usually get about nine and about eight. Yeah, so it was
- 15:05it was almost reversed back a little backwards. But um, the two gig
- 15:09service is not available in my area right now? Now what do they have
- 15:11to do now? Not what the online portion told me. Oh, the
- 15:13guy told me that the two gig service wasn't available here yet because it's they
- 15:18haven't rolled everything out here yet, so they can't. I don't know.
- 15:20He gave me some bs, but um, it went fine. You know,
- 15:22the guy came and ran the line to my neighbor's backyard, which is
- 15:26where the hub is. So my neighbor is really upset. He's also a
- 15:30coworker mine. Right when I told him I was getting metured at, he
- 15:33was visibly upset because he metured At has to get his permission to come into
- 15:37his backyard because that's where the hub is for our type. Oh oh wow,
- 15:43that's where the affinity boxes. Apparently that's just where the infrastructure. I
- 15:50have no idea. I mean, legally, that's your property, right,
- 15:54so like if they have their stuff on your property, do you like?
- 15:56I'm sure at the County easement. I'm sure it's an easement. It was
- 16:00considered an easement for the county. For a while, it was great and
- 16:03I was getting great up, great down, and today we just started having
- 16:06some weird you know, our phones weren't connecting. I didn't think anything of
- 16:10it, you know, I'll put Max down to bed, was doing some
- 16:11stuff around the house, and then came down to get ready for the show
- 16:15and nothing. Well, you're neighbor probably disconnected. You Yeah, this kind
- 16:18of thinking. You're lucky you're able to switch over to Exfinity though. That
- 16:22makes great well because I have it until you know, least I just paid
- 16:25my Exfunity bill, so I've got it. I'm you know, not going
- 16:26to turn it in until at least my services up. But um yeah,
- 16:30so I just flipped it over to Exfudity and pop it up. So I'm
- 16:33gonna have to There's no outage map recorded, so I'm gonna have to call
- 16:37them and see what's going on. So you can jump on down to down
- 16:40Detector if anybody is ever looking to see if a service is down, whether
- 16:45it be cable service or even even apps or even um yeah, it's a
- 16:49great resource. You go on to downdetector dot com and basically type into a
- 16:53search of what you're looking for, and it can even triangulate for your area,
- 16:57so you gotta let them know you know where you're at. But either
- 17:00way, I mean, that's a that's a great resource, very easy to
- 17:06Yeah, all right, yeah that works out. I'll take I'll take a
- 17:08look. But yeah, exits up and working well. Good, good to
- 17:12have you. I don't know if you guys heard. We got a chance
- 17:15to listen to the playback of the show last week, but um, and
- 17:18then the week before that, which actually just got posted as well. Um.
- 17:22Of course Eric makes his debut in that show, so justin you're gonna
- 17:26have to actually have to listen to one of our shows to hear that in
- 17:30the second segment. But come on, I do the show. I have
- 17:33to listen to it. Yes, you gotta listen to it as well.
- 17:36But uh, pretty cool. Last week we talked about this and it's so
- 17:38bizarre. So we talked about having Ben Sawyer on from an interview I found
- 17:42that we did back in I want to say it was nineteen ninety nine,
- 17:48our ninety seven, somewhere around there, said Ben Sawyer, Yeah, Ben
- 17:51Sawyer who wrote this book with Justin Frankel, all about um uh when MP
- 17:56three power and it was all about the power of MP three using Winamp of
- 18:00course, and then shout casts and we aired that interview and it's a great
- 18:03interview. So if it's up on the archives, if you missed it,
- 18:07that interview has been hidden. We found a hard drive with that on there.
- 18:11And then Michael Giacchino, the guy who does the music for some great
- 18:14video games, called it duty Star Trek movies. He's done those. The
- 18:18show Lost in the Whole Bit had him on the show, but it was
- 18:22it was really cool because I'm I just jumped online like the next day and
- 18:26zd net had a story that MP three players are still viable. People are
- 18:32still buying MP three players even if you can, you know, carry your
- 18:34smartphone with your music. Some people just like to have the MP three you
- 18:38copy of from your computer and there you go and carry him with you.
- 18:42Those people are called normal well in the old days, yeah, yeah,
- 18:48because I mean everybody now wants to you know, well, I guess maybe
- 18:52I should say everybody. Maybe they're not normal, but everybody wants to carry
- 18:56their cell phones everywhere, but you know, people go on jogs or bike
- 19:00rides or whatever. They don't want to have to carry a bulky cell phone,
- 19:03no matter how small it is. Yeah, it's still bulky to have
- 19:07like a tiny little MP three player that I could load up, you know,
- 19:11twenty thirty songs and just go on a run. Right, that's the
- 19:15market for that, I think, Yeah, I think it makes it easy.
- 19:18I had one of the first MP three players, that Diamond Real PMP
- 19:22three hundred, which I still had to You had that too, That was
- 19:26a great little MP three player, had n ST card on it. You
- 19:30could easily change it out, copy of music, you had skip features.
- 19:34I mean it was super, super well designed. Diamond was huge back then.
- 19:38They had the video cards. They had had this this MP three player,
- 19:42and they never happened to them. You know, Diamond's still around,
- 19:47but they don't make the products like I don't think they produced the products like
- 19:51they used to. I mean they used to really have high end of an
- 19:55audio cards, video cards maybe audio cards sure, but like even you said
- 20:00a couple of shows ago, audio cards are kind of a dying fat unless
- 20:04you like an audio file. But I haven't heard the name Diamond and twenty
- 20:10years Diamond Multimedia. Diamond MM I think was their original website. And I
- 20:15don't even know. You know, it was funny because when Ben was on
- 20:18the show last week, he was talking about websites that you know, I
- 20:22pulled him up at websites gone, MP three power is actually available if somebody
- 20:26wants to buy it. But you know, I guess, you know,
- 20:29we've come a long way. It's it's kind of like, dude, we
- 20:30should totally buy that and redirect it to tech talk radio dot com. Wouldn't
- 20:33that be great? We have a couple of sites out there that do that.
- 20:37Like one of the one of the domains I bought when Anne Wilson of
- 20:41Heart. I'll be honestly, I own it. And Wilson of Heart you
- 20:45know she uh somebody Heart like yeah, the group like yeah there, like
- 20:48the singing group. Yeah yeah. They So somebody had commented she had held
- 20:53up a shirt and it was like, you know, it was Anne Wilson
- 20:56for President, right, So what do you think I did? I one
- 21:00online and said, oh, look this domain is available. So I bought
- 21:03the domain and Wilson for President dot com. Uh. And but I was
- 21:07a nice guy. I wasn't a jerk. I went ahead and pointed it
- 21:11too, of course, her website, and I mean, but then she
- 21:15got rid of that website, her own personal website, and now it just
- 21:18goes nowhere in them. I'm thinking I should renew it and pointed to ours.
- 21:22So I don't know if Wilson Wilson is this part of the Wilson Sisters
- 21:26or whatever. Again, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart so so so Anne.
- 21:30I'm sorry we're kind of diving into music here, but we understand Anne
- 21:34Wilson was a part of Heart. But what was her sister's Nancy? Was
- 21:38she also a part of Heart? Yes, it was Anne and Nancy.
- 21:41Nancy was high, okay, okay, But then they formed the Wilson Sisters
- 21:48as a different group. No, your way off, No, the Wilson
- 21:52Phillips will do you think of Wilson Phillips. Yeah, yeah, that's a
- 21:56different group. That's a totally different group. And that's what the that's what
- 22:00the daughter of um Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. There's just too many.
- 22:06Darmond and China Phillips, the daughter of Papa John Phillips, seriously,
- 22:11Yes, really, I would love it if you would have ever met the
- 22:18Wilson Phillips and said I liked it when you were in arts. I probably
- 22:23would have, and then you would have just you just probably just sitting background
- 22:27way face planted. Yes, yeah, but yeah, so yeah, domans
- 22:33domains are cool. I mean planted. Wasn't he the lead singer of led
- 22:36Zeppelin? Oh you guys are way after track now he's great. Hold on,
- 22:42I gotta turn this bust around. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm done.
- 22:45I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. Diamond Multimedia or Diamond MM
- 22:49dot com right still they dive, they still exist, they still exist.
- 22:53What they mostly do They mostly do wireless a V like wireless, HDMI cap,
- 22:59video capture cards, docking stations, USB adapters, a little bit more
- 23:03of a niche market. Yeah, I don't know. I remember they used
- 23:06to do a TV card and it was kind of cool because then TV capture
- 23:11card and then you could watch TV on your PC. Then hapeg you know,
- 23:15was was out there competing with them, and I think a Peg put
- 23:18out a pretty good product and help Gato. They had a really good TV
- 23:21tuner that you could you know, connect to your PC the via USB.
- 23:25That made it a lot easier. But I think Diamond was doing a lot
- 23:27of that too. And I can't remember the name of their capture card,
- 23:32but I had one and it was good. You know. People would come
- 23:33over and they'd be like, oh, you're watching TV on your computer.
- 23:37They didn't understand that technology. Everything's done with stream technology and innovation. All
- 23:44right, we got a lot of stuff talk about today on the show.
- 23:47Um FBI sending out a warning. Uh, they're finding out that AI is
- 23:52uh the ultimate password cracker and so if you do not have a password manager
- 24:00that will allow you to do long characters, you need to start thinking about
- 24:04it because artificial intelligence and is using computing power to crack passwords now and boy,
- 24:14howdy do I have a password protector for you. We come back more
- 24:18of tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean Weird, and I'm
- 24:22justin. Let me find us on the web at tech talk radio dot com.
- 24:25We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio. So before
- 24:30the break, we talked about the need for password managers. And we have
- 24:33mentioned password management before on the show. I mean many times we've talked about
- 24:40the need for this. Now you can always store your passwords and your browser,
- 24:45which is not recommended any browser used, Edge, Chrome, Firefox.
- 24:52Every time you go to type into password, it's like, wha, would
- 24:55you like me to store your password? It's super secure? Not yeah,
- 25:00but what happens if Google crashes the password manager, which is what happened to
- 25:06mine and I was suddenly forced to listen to you guys finally and get a
- 25:11password manager, And that's exactly what I did. And you what what?
- 25:17You just finally listen to us? Yeah? Yeah, a while, it's
- 25:19a couple of years. Love you too, buddy. All right, but
- 25:22here's the deal. Here's the deal. Have you noticed Google is running ads
- 25:26now about hey, store your password with us story in our browser because it's
- 25:33easy because we have enough of your information. But we're just missing that fin
- 25:36a little. Why is this not a good idea other than you know,
- 25:40maybe crashing and losing half of your passwords or all of them. Um,
- 25:44it's a security risk, isn't it. First off, you don't want to
- 25:48trust Google with every bit of your information. I mean, they have enough
- 25:53information about us already. Now you're gonna give them your passwords to your bank
- 25:59and to everything else. I mean, this is this is just wrong in
- 26:03so many ways. All it takes us for you to click on one bad
- 26:07link and somebody can get all that information for your Chrome. That's right,
- 26:11I mean somebody. It's it's a lot of people think that, oh,
- 26:15it's not that hard to store your stuff in Chrome or whatever. Well I
- 26:18can sit down if you're logged into Chrome, and I can go in into
- 26:22Chrome and see all your store passwords and click a button and then reveal those
- 26:26passwords. You can also export them as a CSV file, which once you
- 26:30have that exported file, you're taken with you. You pop into Excel or
- 26:33or even you know, open Office in the spreadsheet programming. You could see
- 26:37it there. You give you all the passwords. The thing is people,
- 26:41Yeah, it's just people will trust Google too much. Just keep stuff secure
- 26:45when it's not. The thing is is browsers. You know Firefox. I
- 26:48know we're here talking trash about Chrome, okay, because that is the world's
- 26:53wideliest widelyest There you go, that wiliest used browser. I can't spell it.
- 27:00Don't even ask you a world why leader? Sure? Why not?
- 27:04The number one browser? Sure, let's go with that. But the thing
- 27:07is Google Chrome or Firefox or Edge or whatever brave. They are kind of
- 27:15like a password manager for you, right, because you store your passwords with
- 27:21them, but you have you have a Google Chrome account, which happens to
- 27:25be your Gmail. So in essence, your passwords to your entire digital life
- 27:32is only as secure as your Google password. Yeah, if you use if
- 27:36your Google password is password one two three, but then you're using the Google
- 27:41password manager to come up with like twenty three character long hyphenated special character ask
- 27:48keys, it doesn't matter because everything can be hacked with your Gmail password,
- 27:55which happens to be password one two three. And yes, Frank, you're
- 27:59listening. I know that's your password. Frank, Frank, what are you
- 28:03doing here? Here's a really scary note about this. So AI can be
- 28:08great, right, Well, have you heard about Wonderful. Wonderful is an
- 28:12AI that can crack the most common passwords almost instantly. Now I have a
- 28:21program from a company that can help crack a password to be able to access
- 28:26like access the actual password system of the computer, can access RAR files,
- 28:33zip files in case that forensics are needed for that. Right, and it
- 28:37works, It works great. It can take a while. Been working three
- 28:41months on a pretty complex password as well, So three months mind you now
- 28:45wonderful. This AI password cracker can figure out the most common four to seven
- 28:49character passwords in a matter of seconds. Seconds, and that includes here's the
- 28:59field you guys might be thinking about. That means password one, two,
- 29:02or three four right. This includes passwords with upper and lowercase letters and numbers
- 29:08in really seconds. So but but no special characters though. Yeah, I
- 29:15don't know if once you start throwing the alphae, you know the alphae in
- 29:18there, you've got the pound signed, the exclamation point, the dollars signed,
- 29:21the it's yeah, it's gonna take. It's going to add a little
- 29:25to that. But the fact that it can work this fast because of the
- 29:29computing power we have today has got to be very scary, and that is
- 29:33why it's worth the investment for a password manager to get one that's reliable.
- 29:38We all like one pass that has been really good. One password dot com.
- 29:45That is the one I recommend by far, because what I love about
- 29:48one password is not only do you have to sign in to your account on
- 29:53a browser, but if it is a new browser or a new computer,
- 29:59even if it's the same browser. You will store a backup or whatever.
- 30:03When you signed that browser and you download the one password extension, right,
- 30:07it's going to ask you not only for your master password, but it's going
- 30:12to ask you for your account master key, which is not short at all.
- 30:18It's not short at all. No, it's ridiculously long, like gosh,
- 30:22thirty two characters in No, let's say thirty five characters in like seven
- 30:29seven blocks. Yeah, that makes sense, like five characters seven blocks.
- 30:34You have to have that all that information. So even if somebody were to
- 30:38even get your master password to your one password, they could never sign in
- 30:44to your one password unless they had the master key to also decrypt that vault
- 30:49on their computer. So it's really really secure in my opinion. So somebody
- 30:56listening to us right now, all right, Frank, hopefully you'll do it.
- 30:59But anybody else listening to this, thinking, William, I hear these
- 31:02guys talking about it, Maybe it makes sense, especially now I'm telling you
- 31:04this info on AI. So say they have it already integrated into Edge,
- 31:08or they already have an integrated into Chrome, can they go in and delete
- 31:14all those passwords? Once they go ahead and reset up everything and then be
- 31:18good to go or is it automatically going to store them? And because one
- 31:22pass, it will take a little while for you to really get up to
- 31:25speed on it and understand it. And one pass does have a browser extension,
- 31:30Yes it does. They do. Yeahah, so I'm thinking, you
- 31:33know, should they should definitely not keep those passwords in the browser itself.
- 31:38Could go in and remove those. Yeah. So if you download the browser
- 31:42extension for one password, and again there's also other password managers that do roughly
- 31:48the same thing, but we're talking about one password. If you download the
- 31:52browser extension to one password, whenever you're on a website that requires your log
- 31:57in information, one password will prompt you to say, hey, I know
- 32:02that I have something here in my vault. Should I use it? That
- 32:07that that you might need here? It's like, hey, I got something
- 32:12you might want, but but if you want it, you got to unlock
- 32:15me first. Yeah, here, what do you have to do? That
- 32:17voice? I don't know that was a really badly bad Brooklyn accent. Um,
- 32:23Hey, I just watched the Super Mario Brothers movie. Okay, yes,
- 32:28um, we'll talk about that later. But no, I mean yes,
- 32:30so you you have to you have to unlock the password manager to make
- 32:36it work first. So hey, now costwise, Sean, I know you
- 32:39kind of covered it this last time we talked about it. One month for
- 32:45five for five users. It's easy to do, right, and I'm gonna
- 32:47tell you right now, So don't lose your master password emergency kit. I'm
- 32:52trying to log in down my desktop, which I haven't done before. If
- 32:54it requires my secret key, which I just had to go get from a
- 33:00secured PDF file that I had saved, don't lose that because otherwise I wouldn't
- 33:04build a log in. I actually with my secure key, I actually printed
- 33:08it out and I put it in a bank vault and then I deleted any
- 33:12reference to it. So if I ever have to get on a new computer
- 33:16to launch my one password, I literally have to go to the bank to
- 33:22get that out of the document. I take the computer with me, I'll
- 33:27log in, I'll put the you know, the master key on it,
- 33:31and then I will save it, and then I will put that document back
- 33:36in my bank and then you won't be able to find my master key on
- 33:38any of my computers. Don't make the mistake that some people have made in
- 33:42years passed around their office computer or their desktop computer where they take a piece
- 33:46of paper and they write their lug in password next to the computer. I
- 33:52put it under the monitor or even under the keyboard that way. Well yeah,
- 33:55so it's it's like it's like at work, right, we get we
- 33:59get yelled for sharing emails. Like some people will still say, hey,
- 34:04I'm logged out of this machine. Here's you know, what's the password?
- 34:07And I'll send them a one password thing. It's like, hey, I
- 34:08can't get into my one password. Can you just email to me? No,
- 34:12figure it out. I'm not sending a plain text and email. It's
- 34:15things like that that internally they will scan emails and if you're sending passwords in
- 34:20plain text, they'll flag those and you'll get a nasty gram saying hey,
- 34:23don't send emails a plain text. Yep. Yeah, So have the most
- 34:28elaborate password for you, especially you know, I'm just connecting your bank self
- 34:30security, I mean all of that. Whatever you're using, make sure it's
- 34:35an elaborate system. That's why you want to use the password manager, and
- 34:37well, we recommend one past there may be others out there that will work
- 34:42for you that you might want to try, but Honestly, if you're gonna
- 34:45go, we think that's one of the best routes to go. Couldn't this
- 34:47help in a legacy situation where somebody unfortunately passes away and that happens that if
- 34:53they had that master password, they had that stored in a safe deposit box,
- 34:59and somebody gets that, somebody has the authorization to go to that safe
- 35:01deposit box and has access then to the password. That would enable them to
- 35:07then do whatever they needed to for the family. With bank accounts and you
- 35:12know, maybe retirement accounts, they would be able to do that. So
- 35:15that's honestly not a bad way to go to get that Get that master password,
- 35:19you know, get it installed in your systems, and then take that
- 35:22and go put it in a safe deposit box. A lot of people have
- 35:23them. So I mean because the thing is this, Yeah, I mean
- 35:27that, that's exactly That's exactly the reason I did what I did is because,
- 35:32you know, God forbid, I should mean an early demise, right,
- 35:37I want to be able to have my family be able to access everything
- 35:40on my computer except for my browser history. Um and took this second on
- 35:47that way, Yes, yeah, I was waiting for it. Hello,
- 35:52this is your cue to laugh. Um, No, but I'm I mean
- 35:57yes. I want them to be able to access every thing that I would
- 36:00be able to because then it'll make the transition to the next stage a lot
- 36:07easier. Right, Um, yeah, you have you have so many different
- 36:09ways. What about what about digital currency? I don't know if you sold
- 36:14all yours to have all that? No, I have all that in a
- 36:16safety deposit box as well. That is also something to think about it.
- 36:20And I have it actually sitting in my trust for my son Eric. Right,
- 36:25hopefully it'll be it'll still be worth money when after it'll be worth a
- 36:30lot of money by then. Yeah, there's been able to buy so many
- 36:32legos. There's there's been a lot of talk recently too about how bitcoin could
- 36:38could happen, could be going up, not not that we're recommending it quite
- 36:44in a bullmarket yet not yet. We come back. I gotta tell you
- 36:47about this new Massive Arcade game, which is pretty cool, and why the
- 36:52FBI is sending you a warning. Will do that with more of tech Talk
- 36:55Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Seanda Weird, and I'm justin let me
- 37:00this is TikTok Radio. Wow, that's good. Will be right back now
- 37:06back to TikTok radio. So it's back to the movie. COVID took a
- 37:12really big hit on the movie, right, and yeah, there's spent some
- 37:15big blockbusters that have come out this year. I just recently saw the Dungeons
- 37:19and Dragons movie, which was pretty incredible in my opinion, but justin just
- 37:22saw the Actually, my son and I went to go see the Super Mario
- 37:27Brothers movie, and honestly, I heard a lot of really bad things really
- 37:32about the movie. I just heard that it wasn't really good and blah blah
- 37:36blah. But you know what, we've got somebody who's the best critic of
- 37:39them all. Eric, What did you think about the movie? Good?
- 37:45Like critic? Good? Yeah, you liked it. What was the best
- 37:49part of the movie when when toads it don't touch that match? Well,
- 37:53do touch the what? Don't touch the mushroom? Okay the mushroom? Yeah?
- 37:58But but did you like Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario? Yes?
- 38:02Yes, okay, okay? Is he spelling something from the movie.
- 38:09I haven't seen that. No, he's spelling poop oh and you're gone.
- 38:15And there we go. We try it out that was great. Actually,
- 38:20no, right, we we we we we enjoyed it. We actually enjoyed
- 38:22it. I heard a lot of stuff time for heehaw. What do you
- 38:28make it this kid watch? Seriously, you make him watch bad television shows
- 38:34from the seventies he and he haw. Yeah, I would never. First
- 38:37off, you could call child support or child protective services for that, because
- 38:43I would never let him watch he haw. Okay, that's that's his cruel
- 38:47as kind. No, yes, but no, we went. We went
- 38:51to the Mario movie. I I heard a lot of aboud things about it.
- 38:54He doesn't been good. Everybody keeps saying how good it is. It
- 38:58is now it's the blockbuster hit of this last week. I mean it are
- 39:02just grossing animated movie of all time. Yeah wait wait, wait, hold
- 39:07up, you didn't hear that. Yeah, it's it's the highest grossing animated
- 39:12movie of all time. Now. See, I'm starting to wonder if all
- 39:15of these people that are doing these hate things on like movies and IP like
- 39:22intellectual property, think back to what was it, like a month and a
- 39:24half ago, all these people were bashing that new Harry Potter video game.
- 39:30All of a sudden it becomes the greatest, like one of the fastest selling
- 39:34video games of all time. Everybody that I've heard has been talking bad about
- 39:37the Mario movie, saying it's not true to character, blah blah blah blah
- 39:43blah. Sean is telling me it's the fastest selling animated movie of all time.
- 39:47Well, all right, here's what people need to think about when,
- 39:51and I don't think enough people think this way. Guys, we are in
- 39:55a circle and everybody that gets onto Twitter, that gets see into Facebook,
- 40:00that gets into any of the social media sites out there, you put yourself
- 40:06in a circle. Now you might not put yourself there, but it's the
- 40:09people that are around that circle. That's why it's important to be very careful
- 40:15of who you accept as friends, whether it be on Twitter, on Facebook,
- 40:20Instagram, Snapchat, the whole bit, because you get put in that
- 40:22circle, that is the info you're going to be fed. A difference of
- 40:25opinions is always good, but remember if they're with that circle that is negative,
- 40:31negative, negative, Nancy, and you're overhearing, You're like, I
- 40:35just want to experience it, Like I want to see the movie from myself
- 40:38and make the opinion. I agree with you on so many different factors.
- 40:44But here's a different point of view on one of those is personally with my
- 40:49social media, I like to invite all different types of people, yeah,
- 40:52to my social media. I don't want to be called because I'm conscious of
- 40:58that circle. If you say, right, yeah, because there is that
- 41:01is there's definitely truth to that. You will align yourself with people that you
- 41:06agree with. I like to align myself with people that I disagree with as
- 41:10well, right because I kind of want to see their point of view.
- 41:15And so I guess, you know, not to get into political discussion,
- 41:19but that kind of puts me in the middle because I'm willing to listen to
- 41:22the other side. Whereas what you're saying is you can find yourself getting in
- 41:27that whirlpool of the same type of people and the same type of content,
- 41:34and before you know it, you're already down the drain. But don't forget
- 41:37it is important that no matter what somebody says online, no matter what opinion
- 41:43they share or something they say, I know this to be true, to
- 41:46take it all with a grain of salt, even if it's coming from some
- 41:50of the closest people that you know, so that you form your own opinions
- 41:54and you don't let them straight be an individual. And I've told my kids
- 41:59that for years, to be themselves. And that's it's really important, especially
- 42:04when it comes to social media. Like say, somebody in that circle that
- 42:07you maybe don't always interact with and you don't really always like, and they
- 42:13say something there's some sense to that, you click on the like you're gonna
- 42:16get fed more of that opposing side, so be ready for it. And
- 42:22you know that's that's really like the sad thing about it is it's you've got
- 42:27to be kind of visually careful about what you're commenting on, what you're liking,
- 42:30what you know, what you're seeing out there online. Now, the
- 42:35reviews i've heard, like your your review is good. Eric's review is good
- 42:40as well, even though he likes Hehaw. I'm looking forward to see what
- 42:44Sean thought of Dungeons to Dragons because everything has been Mario, but it's not
- 42:47been Dungeons to Dragons. I was just gonna say, you notice how Sean
- 42:52had been silent this whole time while we were talking about social media. It's
- 42:54because he's not on social media, but I'm not. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:59so did you how did you get the reviews about the movie. What made
- 43:01you say I want to go see it? Oh? I still look,
- 43:05I still actively search for stuff on the internet when I'm interested in it,
- 43:07right, and you still used Reddit, so I'm not off all social media?
- 43:12Right? Well, real quick, before we find out about Duntons and
- 43:15dragons, Sean, when it comes to Super Mario Brothers, you've got to
- 43:17think about it. With the success of the movie, this is a this
- 43:20is good. It means we're gonna see merchandizing, We're gonna see sequel.
- 43:24Hello, we already have merchandizing, it's called Nintendo. Yeah, but I
- 43:28mean we're gonna see further stuff tied to the movie, which, you know,
- 43:31the kids are liking it, the adults are liking it. It's kind
- 43:35of a bit of nostalgia. It's kind of a shame that there dogging's so
- 43:38bad on the nineteen ninety three you know, Super Mario Brothers Live action movie
- 43:44with it sucks. It was pretty bad with the late Bob Hoskins and John
- 43:47Legazamo. It was flat. It was like hard to like follow. Did
- 43:53you hear he's like trash talking this one, John Legazamo, Yeah, he
- 43:58said he won't see it, which which shame. I'd take. Go see
- 44:00it, you know, draw your opinions afterwards. I don't even know exactly
- 44:04what he's talking about, but he's just like trash in this movie, like,
- 44:07oh, it's not blahlah blah blah or whatever. I'm like, yeah,
- 44:09did you even see it? See it for your He hasn't seen it,
- 44:13said he won't. You gotta see it for yourself. Like again,
- 44:15Dungeons and Dragons. All right, I didn't play it. I want to
- 44:19see this. My co worker said she didn't want to see it because she's
- 44:22never played I said, I dabbled in Dungeons and Dragons, but the movie
- 44:25is a fantasy film based on that Dungeons and Dragons from what I understand,
- 44:30am I sean help me out here? Dug Dragons? I miss the first
- 44:32part. I was reading more about the movie. I was reading into the
- 44:37ratail. Tell us your review. Let all right, give us your review
- 44:42of Dungeon Dragons the movie. Yes, the Dungeon Dragons the movie was great.
- 44:46And I would have to bring in my co worker to kind of because
- 44:51I was one song with a co worker right. I had a day off
- 44:52last week and I called him up so let's go see this movie, and
- 44:57I will tell you that the storyline felt it was very They did an action
- 45:05scene and then they were at the next part. They did an action scene.
- 45:07Then there there was no like transitioning between places. There was no right
- 45:12time, kind of like the game. Yeah, so if you were sitting
- 45:14and playing Dudgeons Dragons, right, You're not going to spend a whole session
- 45:17traveling from point A to point B. You're just gonna be like, you
- 45:21traveled seven days, you ate this much food, you drank this much wine,
- 45:23you got this fire. But yeah, yeah, so the movie felt
- 45:28very segmented. It was like, hey, action scene, all right,
- 45:30next story, next story element, action scene, next story elements. It
- 45:35felt like you were watching people play Dudgeons and dragons. Really okay, that's
- 45:40yeah. The way the characters interacted with each other, it felt like you
- 45:45were in the dialogue. So you got like different personalities in the actors too,
- 45:52right, because those are like there's like a smart alec and then there's
- 45:54like the brute and then there's like the shy person. Right. Yeah,
- 45:59I mean everybody kind of placed their own style, right, which is which
- 46:04is good and it takes that's an element of the game. Right, every
- 46:07player character brings that element to their in game character, right, So,
- 46:14and it was good, right, And there are elements of the game where
- 46:15it's like, as as somebody who has been a dungeon master and who has
- 46:20played as a character, as played played as a player character, there are
- 46:23elements of this rego, oh yeah, I can see how they came up
- 46:27with that, because they're trying to describe this creature. And this creature looks
- 46:30miserable on the screen, but that's how somebody might have described it in the
- 46:34game, right at the specific scenes in the movie. As as somebody who
- 46:38has been a dungeon master who's had to come up with stuff on the fly
- 46:40and be creative, it's like, oh, I can see how if I
- 46:45described this that that's how it would look to somebody. So now, okay,
- 46:49so I'm kind of understanding it. So people are playing dungeons or dragons,
- 46:52but now the what they're doing in the game is now being related to
- 46:57on the big screen. Is that it? Yeah? Now, Chris Pine,
- 47:00I know is in it. Uh, And I'm trying to think who
- 47:04else is a part of it. Well, let let's Sean look up.
- 47:07I am dB. Yeah, that's a great. Honestly, this is this
- 47:10is a really good movie. I mean you think about it, you think
- 47:15Dungeon Dragons. Uh yeah, I'm not gonna see that. No, this
- 47:17is actually a really cool movie and I can't wait to see it. I'm
- 47:22gonna go see it this weekend. You know, it's it's it's really good.
- 47:24And even if you don't like or if you're like you're hesitant because oh
- 47:29it's dungeons dragons, I'm not gonna do a thing about dungeons dragons, like
- 47:32I don't I don't know. I don't play dungeons dragons. My co worker
- 47:36doesn't play dungchets dragons. Right, he's interested in playing Dustons dragons. And
- 47:40he's now more interested. He's like, that was fun, Like I enjoyed
- 47:44that movie. Is this what it's like playing It's like, yeah, yep,
- 47:47what you watch is how it feels playing Dustess dragons. Like the chaos,
- 47:52the fun, the crying, the you know, I cried during the
- 47:54movie because it's you. They got you so invested. Wait wait, hold
- 47:59on a cry like a laughing cry or like a sad cry, sad cry?
- 48:02What? Oh? Yeah? Yeah, And there was laughing, crying
- 48:06too, right there there's some moments that they're just like so unbelievable, but
- 48:09that's dumpet and dragons, right there are there are scenarios and games that are
- 48:14just so unpredictable and so out of control of your mind, right that you
- 48:20just can't think of the possibilities how your your mind can come up with these
- 48:23ideas and stuff, right, and those are relaid on the silver screen,
- 48:28right. So it's it's really fun. And I'm pulling up the castle list
- 48:30because you're gonna I'm gonna read these castle lists off, right, like,
- 48:35just give us like the first four. Who's the first four on them?
- 48:38So Chris Pine, right, michell Enriquez igaan page, Oh yeah, from
- 48:46Bridgerton. He's he's a guy, this guy that was in the first season.
- 48:50Everybody fell in love with him. And then he's like, okay,
- 48:52I'm gone, Yeah, he's gonna go fight dragons now, Justice Smith.
- 48:58Who's that? So Sophia Lillis all right? Grant Grant? Oh yeah,
- 49:01you Grant. He does great interviews. Four Weddings in a Funeral, Yeah,
- 49:09behind Blighters, but those are kind of the big ones. But it's
- 49:15really good. I want to go see it so bad? All right,
- 49:17we're gonna have to maybe make that a plan. Can I can I just
- 49:22give it work quick? About that Mari movie, Yeah, it really was
- 49:24pretty cool. I mean, yes, we're missing so many different facets of
- 49:30the movie, but honestly, there were so many little like little background behind
- 49:35the scenes type of thing. If you if you're not watching the main character,
- 49:37you're kind of looking off to the side of the screen and you'll see
- 49:39coming off easter egg and there's stuff going on. And the cast was not
- 49:45that bad. Everybody was given Chris um, oh my gosh, now you
- 49:49say Chris Pines and maybe you think that Chris Pratt, thank you. They
- 49:52were giving so much grief about his character. He didn't do that bad of
- 49:55a job just because he didn't speak like mad didn't. It's me. It's
- 50:01it's me, you know, it's they took They got an a list cast
- 50:06to do the Yeah, yep. And a lot of people have mixed feelings
- 50:10about Chris Pratt because he's been in so many different movies recently. Everybody's burned
- 50:15out. They're like, oh, you could have found somebody originally could have
- 50:17found the original voice. Oh oh, they got they wanted that. I
- 50:21like Jack Black is in it as well. He plays a decent job.
- 50:25Yeah, he plays bowser. He did. Now. The only person that
- 50:28I didn't recognize from the cast, honestly was Princess Peach. She's kind of
- 50:34an I mean maybe maybe from my generation, but an an unknown. Was
- 50:37it Anna Taylor Joy? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, she's good?
- 50:44Is she? She was in Um? She was in a really good
- 50:47series on Netflix that I just loved. And I'm trying to remember what the
- 50:51what that series was, Sean, you're the master of the IMDb right now?
- 50:54What was it? He is? Um? She did Queen's Gambet?
- 50:59Queen's Gambit? Did you ever see the we started watching that sheep? Wait
- 51:02does she play She's She's the main character of Queens Gambit? Oh my god,
- 51:07yeah, seriously, yeah that's her. Yeah, Oh my god.
- 51:10My wife is gonna blow her mind right now because oh yeah, she's washed
- 51:15Queen's Gambit. No, she had no idea. Oh my god. All
- 51:17right, let me tell you about Let me tell you about this kind of
- 51:21ties in to Super Mario Brothers, one of my favorite arcade games. When
- 51:24I used to go to the arcade, the way in Park Mall and drop
- 51:27quarters in was Donkey Kong. I love Donkey Kong of course. The Strong
- 51:31National Museum of Play and you can look this up, it's in New York
- 51:36has unveiled a massive Donkey Kong arcade cabinet that's nearly twenty feet tall. Uh.
- 51:44The cabinet will be available for actual play because if you're standing, the
- 51:47controls are right there, like near your chess level. But um, when
- 51:53it's fully installed on June thirtieth. If you want to see the pictures,
- 51:57you can check out Strong Museum on Twitter to see the photos of the largest
- 52:01Donkey Kong arcade game. Oh wow, that you're gonna be able to play.
- 52:07We're looking at I'm showing them rendering right now from from the from Polygons
- 52:10website, and it's got a three D rendered person in front of this.
- 52:15It's ginormous. We'll ahead and pop the photo up on our blog. As
- 52:17a matter of fact, you could subscribe to our blog blog dot tech talk
- 52:22radio dot com and check out the photo there to see what this massive arcade
- 52:24looks like. Quick FBI warning where we come back with more of Tech Talk
- 52:29Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de weird and I'm justin let me
- 52:32send us a tweet at tech talk Radio. We'll be right back and now
- 52:37back to tech talk Radio. So I've been kind of teasing this whole FBI
- 52:42thing, and not for We've just been having a fun discussion about stuff.
- 52:45But the FBI is warning. We have talked about this before here on tech
- 52:49talk Radio. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys. FBI is warning against
- 52:52using public phone charging stations. They are finally saying, now bad actors have
- 52:57figured out ways to use this public speed ports, introduced malware and monitoring software.
- 53:02They're saying, this goes for airports, hotels, shopping centers. So
- 53:07why is this. I mean, you go to your favorite coffee shop and
- 53:09there you see a charging station. You don't want to use that because somebody
- 53:14could have changed it. You could plug it, it could be plugged into
- 53:15a computer. On the other end, it could just be sucking the data
- 53:19off your phone. It could have like a little brick charging station that looks
- 53:22like it's part of the coffee shop. Could have like a raspberry pie with
- 53:24a storage unit on it that could be copying everything you do on your phone
- 53:29or everything. Not even a lap you do, yeah, passively, laptop
- 53:32whatever, you do. Not want to plug anything into a public charging station
- 53:38period. Do you remember this happened a few years ago. We talked about
- 53:42it back then, where people were dropping USB courts. So somebody sees a
- 53:45USB court and it's like, oh, that's kind of cool. Oh it
- 53:49has it has a lightning connector, or it has a USB you know,
- 53:52B or C or A or whatever, and they would plug their devices in.
- 53:55But that small little connector that was on there was an to capture keystrokes
- 54:00or you know, information or data being passed through, and people were getting
- 54:06hacked and getting aware from that. And see the thing is is even if
- 54:09you have that little USB chord or whatever and you're like, oh, you
- 54:13know, it's just a USB chord, it's got a computer chip inside,
- 54:15and once you plug it into your computer or your phone, it's gonna use
- 54:21your phone's data plan or your computer's Wi Fi connection or whatever it is to
- 54:27send all that information back to it's it's it's parent or whoever you want to
- 54:31call it's home. I was telling uh my boss about this and he asked
- 54:36me, he said, well, should I be careful about buying USB chords
- 54:38at yard sales, and I said, yeah, you should be careful about
- 54:44buying USB chords on Amazon. Period. Yeah, some good points. Now.
- 54:47What they're they're advising, though, is for you to carry your own
- 54:52charger. Remember that, pack it before you get away on vacation. Carry
- 54:55your own charger, USB chord and use an electrical let instead. Don't plug
- 55:01the USB chord. You carry your own chord, don't plug it into a
- 55:05USB outlet that's on maybe a table somewhere. Take your own, you know,
- 55:09take your own electrical plug it into an absolute outlet. Yes, so
- 55:14yes, something to think about. All right, that's it for this week's
- 55:15Tech talk radio guys, have a great week now. Sean's gotta go see
- 55:21Super Mario Brothers, Justin's gotta go see Dungeons and Dragons. We'll talk about
- 55:25it next week. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm shin to weird, and I'm
- 55:28Justin. Let me don't worry. Andy's gonna watch his Hallmark channel. But
- 55:30have yourself a great week.
