- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another bite of French? Luna: Always, Lucas. I've been practicing my numbers, especially the ordinals from last time. Lucas: Awesome. Last week we covered onzième through quinzième. Today, we finish the teen ordinals: seizième, dix-septième, dix-huitième, dix-neuvième, and vingtième. Luna: Yeah, that's sixteenth to twentieth. Let's start with seizième. Lucas: Exactly. Seizième. It comes from seize, sixteen. So seize becomes seizième. Repeat after me: seizième. Luna: Seizième. Lucas: Perfect. Now dix-septième. From dix-sept, seventeen. Dix-septième. Luna: Dix-septième. That one's a mouthful! Lucas: Yeah, but you got it. Next, dix-huitième from dix-huit, eighteen. Try it. Luna: Dix-huitième. Lucas: Nice. Then dix-neuvième from dix-neuf, nineteen. Luna: Dix-neuvième. Lucas: And finally vingtième from vingt, twenty. Vingtième. Luna: Vingtième. That one's easier. Lucas: Let's use them in a sentence. Imagine a race. Il est arrivé seizième. He finished sixteenth. Luna: Il est arrivé seizième. Lucas: Good. Now, for fun: Mon anniversaire est le vingtième mai. My birthday is May twentieth. Luna: Mon anniversaire est le vingtième mai. I like that one. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. I'll say the number, you give the ordinal. Sixteen. Luna: Seizième. Lucas: Seventeen. Luna: Dix-septième. Lucas: Eighteen. Luna: Dix-huitième. Lucas: Nineteen. Luna: Dix-neuvième. Lucas: Twenty. Luna: Vingtième. Lucas: Perfect.
