- 0:14Speaker 1: to us on audio, enjoy this episode. Afore the Dads,
- 0:18Speaker 1: the dog conversation cost some good steam, some good traction
- 0:21Speaker 1: in the comments last week.
- 0:22Speaker 2: A lot of dog talk, and we set it to
- 0:25Speaker 2: at the top.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We were entering kind of a phase where it's like
- 0:28Speaker 1: there's going to be a couple extremes coming after Yes,
- 0:31Speaker 1: either coming AFTERSS. There's a lot of people who fully
- 0:33Speaker 1: understand what's going on, but we knew we were going
- 0:35Speaker 1: to get a taste of the a gap. We're going
- 0:38Speaker 1: to dive in all that hope the trash is taken out.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of four the Dads Pop A
- 0:42Speaker 1: Team six. Any new members joining right now, you're going
- 0:45Speaker 1: to find out throughout every episode. We love to engage
- 0:49Speaker 1: with our audience. This is not an advice giving platform.
- 0:52Speaker 1: This is not an expert platform on fatherhood. This is
- 0:55Speaker 1: just a couple dads talking shop or highs and lows
- 0:58Speaker 1: or wins and losses, the suck, the love, everything in between.
- 1:02Speaker 2: We are happier here if you are watching.
- 1:05Speaker 1: What keeps this show operating is obviously you guys leaving comments, engaging,
- 1:10Speaker 1: helping continue to grow this community, but simply throwing a
- 1:14Speaker 1: subscribe our way, hitting the like button on a YouTube
- 1:17Speaker 1: video following us, sitting a little plus sign on Spotify
- 1:21Speaker 1: and Apple podcasts wherever you get your podcasts.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Maybe a repost on Instagram if you're feeling spicy.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we dive it at for the Dad's Pod across
- 1:30Speaker 1: all social channels, and again we shout out comments, comments, comments.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We also do voicemails where you can call in. I
- 1:38Speaker 1: believe we have four today, but you can call into
- 1:41Speaker 1: the hotline six o one the Dad's You can vent,
- 1:44Speaker 1: You can drop a dad hack, a win, a loss story,
- 1:47Speaker 1: or you can just simply say I forgot to take
- 1:49Speaker 1: out the fucking trash and my wife is on my
- 1:51Speaker 1: ass right Hey, send us a picture of you in
- 1:53Speaker 1: your front yard, put on your outfit.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It just goes.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Stand in the yard, give it a thumbs up, and
- 1:59Speaker 1: just send a picture to six someone the Dad's.
- 2:02Speaker 2: At gmail dot com.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're on International Soil, you can write in
- 2:06Speaker 1: an email. There's a lot of ways to get featured
- 2:08Speaker 1: on the show. We love featuring you, all of you
- 2:11Speaker 1: on the show. We got a special guest in house
- 2:13Speaker 1: with this today. His name is Jack Coleman. Jack Coleman, Jack,
- 2:18Speaker 1: you you are I would label you you are st
- 2:20Speaker 1: six right Semen Team sixer, Yes, absolutely, just for the
- 2:23Speaker 1: love of the game every day, he says every day.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But it's very rare that you get a.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Story where a Seman Team sixer gets a front row
- 2:35Speaker 1: seat to a dad loss, an actual marriage, husband and
- 2:40Speaker 1: wife exchange, and they're kind of caught in the middle
- 2:43Speaker 1: of said dad loss with Sherman Young. We're going to
- 2:46Speaker 1: dive into that story, a dad loss we have at
- 2:49Speaker 1: the top of the show, involving Shrham, involving Jack. We
- 2:52Speaker 1: just hired Jack not too long ago. He joined Busting
- 2:54Speaker 1: with the Boys. How long you've been with us now?
- 2:56Speaker 4: Just a week, not like a full week last week.
- 2:59Speaker 4: That's here, ready to go, ready to rip, That's what
- 3:02Speaker 4: we're doing. We got a big giveaway stream coming Sunday,
- 3:05Speaker 4: our first stream for Ripping with the Boys and on.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Ripping with the Boys.
- 3:10Speaker 1: We in our bust and universe the same way you
- 3:13Speaker 1: see the for the Dad's format, the for the Dad's vertical,
- 3:16Speaker 1: we are standing up another vertical ripping with the Boys.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It's one of Taylor's brain childs. He is ripping cards
- 3:23Speaker 1: and giving away to fans and being engaged with his
- 3:26Speaker 1: kids and doing the whole Pokemon hunt. I know he's
- 3:28Speaker 1: hunting a chew, he's ripping NFL cards, but he has
- 3:32Speaker 1: an obsession in this lade to which we are standing
- 3:35Speaker 1: up this vertical ripping with the Boys. Jack being higher
- 3:38Speaker 1: number one, a former producer, somebody that lives eat sleeves,
- 3:42Speaker 1: breeze the card world, and he will be helping stand
- 3:45Speaker 1: this thing up as well.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So continue on the stream doors.
- 3:48Speaker 4: So you know, Taylor's been ripping for a while now,
- 3:50Speaker 4: you want to really upgrade this brand and bring it
- 3:53Speaker 4: to this new you know avenue and venue and build
- 3:56Speaker 4: up the community and give you know, some of these
- 3:58Speaker 4: high cost products you know, out to the people. Maybe
- 4:01Speaker 4: they can't afford it, and he wants to give back
- 4:02Speaker 4: to the fans. So what we're doing Sunday is our
- 4:05Speaker 4: first debut stream ripping with the Boys YouTube that's ripping
- 4:08Speaker 4: WTB across socials where we're ending the chase for the chew.
- 4:13Speaker 2: We're finding this little round. Come on, man, we are
- 4:15Speaker 2: finding it.
- 4:16Speaker 4: So we're gonna be ripping about five hundred plus packs
- 4:19Speaker 4: that night, and for every single side duck he pulls out,
- 4:24Speaker 4: it's one of his bits he does on stream. We're
- 4:26Speaker 4: doing a courtyard give you running gives the entire time.
- 4:28Speaker 4: It's gonna be a ton of fun. We don't know
- 4:30Speaker 4: how long we're gonna be ripping for. I might not
- 4:34Speaker 4: leave the shop for days, but I'm ready. I'm here
- 4:37Speaker 4: for it. It's gonna be a ton of fun.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It's hard to imagine that there aren't parents out there
- 4:43Speaker 1: right now that are in the Pokemon world, whether it's
- 4:45Speaker 1: with their kids or they're ripping cards. So if you
- 4:47Speaker 1: have the opportunity, if you're in the world again ripping
- 4:49Speaker 1: with the Boys, it's ribbing packs and it's giving it away.
- 4:53Speaker 1: The side duck thing that will happen anytime they pull
- 4:56Speaker 1: a side duck, there'll be a giveaway happening, even twenty
- 4:58Speaker 1: four hours leading up to the every hour on the hour,
- 5:02Speaker 1: a giveaway is happening on the rip and WTB channel,
- 5:06Speaker 1: So again, follow those on all platforms.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And guys, these giveaways, I mean, I'm not gonna like
- 5:10Speaker 3: over sell it to where you know I'm speaking out
- 5:13Speaker 3: of turn, but these are some dope giveaways.
- 5:16Speaker 2: These are big prizes. Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Is it like a little keychain or a sticker from
- 5:21Speaker 3: Busting with the Boys? Like some of these cards, some
- 5:24Speaker 3: of these slabs that you can get are like high
- 5:28Speaker 3: price stuff.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Dude, It's crazy, and we'll be getting to dip our
- 5:31Speaker 1: toe in that world. I know where We're partnering with
- 5:33Speaker 1: Courtyard Io, which is a big giveaway platform or a
- 5:37Speaker 1: big platform where you can can you explain Courtyard.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Io Basically on Courtyard you're able to purchase a digital
- 5:43Speaker 4: pack rip and on there you'll be able to kind
- 5:46Speaker 4: of sweat your card, open it and you'll be able,
- 5:49Speaker 4: you know, within different price ranges, find a card pack
- 5:51Speaker 4: that works best for you and your range.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So it's pretty cool.
- 5:54Speaker 4: You can then add it to your vault basically or
- 5:57Speaker 4: ship it to you and it becomes a physical thing
- 5:59Speaker 4: is well.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Or you could have it for a gift, whether it's
- 6:02Speaker 1: Christmas whatever, coming up, a birthday and one of your
- 6:04Speaker 1: kid who's been one something yeah, a bust and pack
- 6:07Speaker 1: is on the site.
- 6:08Speaker 4: But I think there's a lot of intersection between you know,
- 6:10Speaker 4: this brand and that brant because in the comments, you know,
- 6:14Speaker 4: you see a lot of people saying, I'm just getting
- 6:16Speaker 4: back into cards because my kids are doing it, or
- 6:18Speaker 4: like my dad passed down a big box of cards.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I know, even around the office here, like there's guys
- 6:22Speaker 4: that are sharing some of the stories that they're telling
- 6:25Speaker 4: with their dads. So it's a great way to kind
- 6:28Speaker 4: of build up the community that way as well.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Absolutely, And what's cool is since Courtyard's coming into partner
- 6:33Speaker 1: with all the Busting with the Boys, the nucleus of
- 6:35Speaker 1: it is happening on Ripping wtb Ripping with the Boys,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but we're gonna get to do giveaways with Busting.
- 6:41Speaker 2: With the Boys.
- 6:41Speaker 1: With our sports betting shows the Locker Room, NFL and
- 6:44Speaker 1: college football on for the dads, you might get to
- 6:47Speaker 1: see one of our faces, Chef as a seaman Team sixer.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I know he's in the cars world.
- 6:51Speaker 1: You got d you got Sherman myself to where we
- 6:53Speaker 1: could be going live like on our four the Dad's
- 6:55Speaker 1: channels to give stuff away. So a big partnership with
- 6:58Speaker 1: Courtyard Io, which is massive. The entire brand the nucleus
- 7:01Speaker 1: are ripping what the boys is happening and also leading
- 7:04Speaker 1: into our story Jack Coleman Stemen Team sixer was part
- 7:07Speaker 1: of a dad loss with our wonderful Sherman Young over
- 7:10Speaker 1: the weekend Friday, right before the weekend, the precipice of
- 7:14Speaker 1: the weekend, we had a time We had a time
- 7:17Speaker 1: day so to paint the picture.
- 7:19Speaker 4: I just moved down here from New Jersey. I'm from
- 7:21Speaker 4: New Jersey, Jersey Shore, and I have an empty apartment
- 7:24Speaker 4: right now. Like I have a couple of things here
- 7:25Speaker 4: and there, just kind of making it by. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 4: maybe this weekend I'll go out full fledg shopping. But
- 7:30Speaker 4: I needed a couch. So nice man Sherman here he goes, Hey,
- 7:34Speaker 4: my buddies are trying to get rid of a couch.
- 7:36Speaker 4: You know, I'll help you pick it up from them,
- 7:38Speaker 4: bring it to your place. Just great, guys, stuff, great
- 7:40Speaker 4: move one hundred bucks flat. I'm like done, easy, Like
- 7:43Speaker 4: we could throw on a table two extra fifty. I'm
- 7:45Speaker 4: like done. So we hit the road. Now Sherman has
- 7:49Speaker 4: this all planned out where at the end of this
- 7:52Speaker 4: whole stretch he needs to pick.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Up his daughter. And did I say that at the
- 7:57Speaker 2: very beginning, Yes you did. I'm good to help, just
- 8:01Speaker 2: got to pick up my doll. Got to priority priorities.
- 8:04Speaker 2: What time you got to pick up Scarlett?
- 8:06Speaker 3: I need to be leaving this office before five pm
- 8:10Speaker 3: at the latest, at the latest at the scar scar.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yes, sir, right, So we head out. He brings one
- 8:16Speaker 4: part of his back. Around three o'clock, we head to
- 8:18Speaker 4: my place drop it off. As we're dropping off, quick
- 8:21Speaker 4: side note, this guy was great.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Oh this guy rule. His neighbor's awesome dude. Where we
- 8:28Speaker 2: see this big dude, you know, kind of walking down
- 8:30Speaker 2: the hall.
- 8:31Speaker 4: He's got a big bag of golf gloves with him,
- 8:33Speaker 4: just had himself a day. He sees that we're bringing
- 8:35Speaker 4: a big couch out of the truck, and from down
- 8:38Speaker 4: the hall he goes, hey, y'all.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Need a little pulley and we're like, what he's like?
- 8:42Speaker 2: When I brought my couch in, We I have a
- 8:45Speaker 2: pully you use it well. And here's a Texas boy too.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I forgot about that because he goes, hey, which one
- 8:50Speaker 3: y'all from Texas? And I was like, oh me because
- 8:53Speaker 3: I still have Texas tags on my car.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Now he gets back to a boy.
- 8:56Speaker 4: We don't even have to lift a finger really getting
- 8:58Speaker 4: this thing in there. It was in all time. Move
- 9:00Speaker 4: by that guy. Shout out that guy, shout out that guy.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It was Brad.
- 9:03Speaker 1: That's that old one.
- 9:05Speaker 4: So we get this done, we get back in the car.
- 9:07Speaker 4: We're coming or we're going to get the second portion
- 9:10Speaker 4: of everything from his friend's place.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Phone rings, what time, what time we had? We're probably
- 9:16Speaker 2: four four almost four on the dot. Okay, okay, at
- 9:20Speaker 2: four o'clock out.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I'd say from this point it would take about thirty
- 9:26Speaker 4: minutes to go pick up bring it back.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I wasn't too worried. Jill's on the line.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Hey, so I'm getting ready to head out to work.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Is this a speaker?
- 9:37Speaker 5: Is this speaker?
- 9:38Speaker 2: You guys are the car, So you're in.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I'm in, you know you're she instantly it is like
- 9:43Speaker 4: new Hire Coleman's here with me.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Okay, spirits are too yeah, Like I think she's calling
- 9:49Speaker 2: it like, hey, how's it going.
- 9:51Speaker 1: But it's always a great hedge if say, you hear
- 9:53Speaker 1: the tone and you're like Coleman's in the car hedging
- 9:56Speaker 1: against if you're coming to meet me in the a
- 9:58Speaker 1: gap right now.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Just no, somebody that you haven't met yet is sitting
- 10:02Speaker 2: in the car with me.
- 10:02Speaker 3: And that's a dad hack because honestly, if I hadn't
- 10:05Speaker 3: done that, it could have gotten messy.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and it could have gotten Eddie play, Eddie play.
- 10:10Speaker 2: And it quickly turned the quickly swat right.
- 10:13Speaker 4: So I'm like, hey, like, so nice to meet you all, bubbly,
- 10:15Speaker 4: like we're having a grand old time. We're sipping, we're
- 10:18Speaker 4: going sipping some some ollipops.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Too, you know, in the car, we're having a good.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Time knocking him back and you can hear like, well, Sherman,
- 10:29Speaker 4: you know you said that we were gonna pick you
- 10:31Speaker 4: were gonna pick her up. I'm busy today and there's
- 10:34Speaker 4: that edge that's like on the precipice of breaking through.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And I'm just saying that.
- 10:38Speaker 4: My face starts getting red and I'm like, oh man,
- 10:41Speaker 4: She's like, Sherman, like, we talked about this and it's
- 10:45Speaker 4: getting more and more regus when she's like it's nothing
- 10:48Speaker 4: against Jack, like, and I'm like, what I do now?
- 10:51Speaker 4: At that moment, I flipped the script real quick on
- 10:54Speaker 4: him and I go, yeah, I fully agree with you.
- 10:56Speaker 4: I fully agree with you shouldn't be doing it, and
- 10:58Speaker 4: I'm I left him.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm been drivers going keep doing that.
- 11:02Speaker 1: But but in your mind, like again, we still have
- 11:04Speaker 1: an hour cushion before you have to leave five o'clock
- 11:07Speaker 1: the latest, right, absolutely, okay, so we're good sailing.
- 11:11Speaker 3: But there's Friday traffic. Will there's Friday Friday traffic.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Will.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay, you're all the way across town, Rman, so.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You're you're kind of defending, like okay, yeah, yeah, totally aware.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna be able to leave the shot by five.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It's gonna be all good. And then she lumps in.
- 11:27Speaker 1: She starts running the football with traffic, and I have I.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Have a let's say, a metaphorical army behind me, and
- 11:36Speaker 3: I'm doing this going a. We don't need to fight.
- 11:40Speaker 3: We don't need to fight right now. We don't need
- 11:42Speaker 3: to defend ourselves even Okay, in this moment, let the
- 11:46Speaker 3: wife you speak, Let her speak her mind at length.
- 11:50Speaker 2: I just sat back and stay quiet.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Just let her get it all out.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Let her get it all out, honey. I love you, like,
- 11:57Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. I I should have thought this threw better.
- 12:02Speaker 4: It's like, it's okay, sherman like like, we'll talk, not
- 12:04Speaker 4: even it's okay, so we'll talk later.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Boom. So she doesn't say it's okay. She says, you said,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I love you.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I love you. She said I love you too, we'll
- 12:14Speaker 2: talk later, something along those lines. Right, Yeah, she.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Didn't even say I love you too.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't remember one. I don't remember
- 12:21Speaker 2: now I think back, I don't think there was one.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I mean, it was a truly like a at.
- 12:28Speaker 2: The end of it, it's just like a good three Mississippi.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Before you meet.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I thought I was in trouble too.
- 12:36Speaker 3: It felt like a spend the night party where like
- 12:38Speaker 3: you stay up way too late at your boys house
- 12:40Speaker 3: and yard kind of being loud, and their mom comes in.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It just strips your friend down. Yeah, but then I'm
- 12:49Speaker 3: not mad at you boys. You're all sweet boys. But
- 12:51Speaker 3: my son should die and I will kill him. But
- 12:55Speaker 3: y'all are fine, you're good boys. It felt like that.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Can get that you get the hang up and it's
- 13:01Speaker 4: like you said a good pause and at the same
- 13:03Speaker 4: time we're both like, I think the math is working
- 13:06Speaker 4: out still, I think we got this still, Yeah, sure enough,
- 13:12Speaker 4: you saved the day. Everything worked out right, like we
- 13:14Speaker 4: were able to pick up everything, drop it off, and
- 13:17Speaker 4: I believe you got there. You left here at five
- 13:19Speaker 4: like you said you would. I left here at five
- 13:22Speaker 4: like I said I would.
- 13:23Speaker 2: The math math.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Jill basically left it at a proved me wrong type
- 13:30Speaker 3: of scenario.
- 13:31Speaker 2: She went ahead and picked up Scarlet.
- 13:33Speaker 3: But I took a little screenshot of when I was
- 13:36Speaker 3: parallel with Scarlet's daycare called Jill to let her know
- 13:40Speaker 3: that I was parallel with Scarlet's daycare at the time
- 13:44Speaker 3: that I said I was going.
- 13:45Speaker 2: To before the time that I said I was going
- 13:47Speaker 2: to be able to pick Scarlet up.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Can I get a quid thirty please? So the math math. Yeah,
- 13:53Speaker 1: she got off the phone doubting you. Yeah, but not
- 13:56Speaker 1: doubting you and challenging you, doubting you and saying I'm
- 13:59Speaker 1: going to take over. She picked up Scarlett.
- 14:01Speaker 2: She picked up Scarlett.
- 14:03Speaker 4: And we're getting texts along the way too. It's not
- 14:06Speaker 4: just phone call ends. It's like we're getting text updates
- 14:08Speaker 4: too coming through. And I think one you quoted was
- 14:12Speaker 4: I'm a tea kettle ready to boil over.
- 14:15Speaker 2: At that moment, I was just like, yo, you're on
- 14:17Speaker 2: your own here, brother.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Jill Texas said, I'm a tea kettle ready to boil.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Over, dude, because we had just had a conversation about
- 14:24Speaker 3: letting our yes this be yeses and our nose be nosed, OK.
- 14:28Speaker 3: And when we say we're going to show up, where
- 14:31Speaker 3: we're going to do it and when we're going to
- 14:32Speaker 3: do it needs to be where and when we're going
- 14:35Speaker 3: to show up. And we had that conversation maybe two
- 14:39Speaker 3: days prior to this. It wasn't like a serious hashm
- 14:43Speaker 3: a conversation, but it was a conversation where Jill was saying, like,
- 14:47Speaker 3: it is important to me that when you say you're
- 14:50Speaker 3: going to do something and at what time, that you
- 14:53Speaker 3: do it at that time. That shows me that I'm
- 14:56Speaker 3: a priority of yours. That shows me that you are
- 15:00Speaker 3: actively taking measures to put your families first in situations
- 15:06Speaker 3: and not putting other things before family.
- 15:09Speaker 4: She made valid points she made, not deny that she
- 15:12Speaker 4: made after I'm on both I see both sides here,
- 15:14Speaker 4: you know, but the math is still math.
- 15:16Speaker 1: She right, like, as guys sitting there knowing like this
- 15:20Speaker 1: is still gonna work out, I think you know, let's
- 15:22Speaker 1: let's not get too overreactive about it, like we're still
- 15:24Speaker 1: going to bring it home. So you get off the
- 15:26Speaker 1: phone as she's texting you. Does she let you know
- 15:28Speaker 1: she's taken over?
- 15:29Speaker 3: She's oh, yes on the phone that she was picking
- 15:32Speaker 3: up scarlet right, and again, I have the army back here.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I'm going like this.
- 15:37Speaker 3: She kind of has a war hammer like this, but
- 15:39Speaker 3: she's not bringing it down on me either. Like the
- 15:42Speaker 3: you could feel the tension on the phone, but there
- 15:45Speaker 3: was no there was no clashing, right. It was like
- 15:49Speaker 3: a prove me wrong, prove me wrong, but she wasn't
- 15:53Speaker 3: letting you prove it wrong.
- 15:54Speaker 2: She took over.
- 15:55Speaker 1: She did take over, you stee when the hammer's up
- 15:57Speaker 1: in the air. In my opinion, she kind of swung
- 15:58Speaker 1: the hammer. And I'm just eating these gummies to get
- 16:02Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 16:03Speaker 2: More the situation.
- 16:04Speaker 1: He's over here with the eating popcorn, just watching the
- 16:09Speaker 1: show go down. So question for you, Yeah, you know
- 16:12Speaker 1: she's taken over. You still decide I'm going to prove
- 16:18Speaker 1: it wrong by going and getting parallel, letting her know,
- 16:23Speaker 1: like you're still.
- 16:24Speaker 3: It's on my way home, regardless, I got dried by
- 16:27Speaker 3: the daycare anyways.
- 16:29Speaker 2: But it's almost like a hey, I just want to
- 16:32Speaker 2: let you know.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I was letting my yes B yes, and my no
- 16:35Speaker 3: B no, and I was going to make it there
- 16:37Speaker 3: on time, like I was going to get there.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And kind of like in kind of like a hey,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I told you.
- 16:45Speaker 3: I mean she literally asked for like, let me know
- 16:48Speaker 3: when you are parallel with the daycare, like I want
- 16:54Speaker 3: to see if you would have gotten there on time.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Now are you right home with him?
- 16:57Speaker 2: No? No, no. At this point, he's I'm good.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I'm still a little red in the face though, you know,
- 17:02Speaker 4: like I felt like I was in like the principal's
- 17:04Speaker 4: office for a little bit.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like you're in the spot to where I'm gonna
- 17:07Speaker 1: let an hour or two go by and I'm gonna
- 17:08Speaker 1: hit him up, check on my boy.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Heyes, something I'm looking for that right now. He hit
- 17:12Speaker 2: me up. We had some grow while you looked it up.
- 17:14Speaker 1: How was it when you got home?
- 17:16Speaker 2: It was actually really good.
- 17:17Speaker 3: We had a great conversation on the ride home, and
- 17:20Speaker 3: she said, because this and I will on myself self
- 17:24Speaker 3: grading APR. I should have COMMUNICATEDLF scout self, scout, I
- 17:29Speaker 3: should have communicated everything to Jill earlier in the day.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I've been radio silent. So then all of a sudden,
- 17:35Speaker 3: at four o'clock, she sees in this group text with
- 17:38Speaker 3: our couple friends. Hey, Hillary, We're gonna come by and
- 17:41Speaker 3: come grab the couch. We'll be at your house by
- 17:43Speaker 3: around like four twenty. And Jill's like, whoa, I thought
- 17:49Speaker 3: he was picking up our daughter. If I communicated earlier
- 17:52Speaker 3: in the day with her, it would have been a
- 17:55Speaker 3: way different situation where I could have talked this out
- 17:58Speaker 3: with her instead of you know, she reads this text
- 18:03Speaker 3: and she calls me Coleman's.
- 18:04Speaker 2: In the car. We're on the We're already on the way.
- 18:07Speaker 3: There's no like, we can't cancel the couch pickup couch
- 18:10Speaker 3: pit cup's happening. Yeah, you have to pick Scarlet up
- 18:13Speaker 3: by what five thirty six? By six o'clock.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You you handled that better than I would have on
- 18:22Speaker 1: the phone. I would have said, hey, sweetheart, it's four o'clock. Like,
- 18:27Speaker 1: I gotta pick her up by six. I told you
- 18:28Speaker 1: I'm pick her up by six. Watch dad work. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: Like I'm gonna pick her up by six.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Well, there is the timeframe of Jill wanting she doesn't
- 18:38Speaker 3: want Scarlet picked up by six, which I get that
- 18:41Speaker 3: as well. She doesn't want her daughter being the last
- 18:44Speaker 3: kid at daycare. She wants me to get there, you know,
- 18:48Speaker 3: a little after five, get Scarlet to the house.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Letter decompressed. So she's not right.
- 18:53Speaker 1: But if you're if you're still hitting that in your world,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I am.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I'm with you. I'm out and about right now. But
- 19:00Speaker 2: we have all this math out.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yes, I need you to tone it down because that
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'm still gonna leave the shot by five like I said,
- 19:08Speaker 1: And I'm still gonna pick up scarscr No, don't you
- 19:10Speaker 1: go pick up scarscar. I'm picking up scarscar. If you
- 19:14Speaker 1: pick up scarscar. Yeah, I pulled the move wrong and
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm in the parking lot and I'm letting you know
- 19:20Speaker 1: I just like I said, I would have picked up
- 19:22Speaker 1: scarscar and cold.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Man. I'm a good dad. I'm a good I just
- 19:27Speaker 2: want you to know I get a cool down. Are
- 19:33Speaker 2: you a glass of still water?
- 19:34Speaker 5: Now?
- 19:34Speaker 2: Because I told you I would have had it. You know,
- 19:36Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 19:37Speaker 1: When I walked into the back door, I was expected
- 19:40Speaker 1: to hear.
- 19:42Speaker 2: That's the problem.
- 19:43Speaker 1: You don't trust me, honey, Yeah, didn't we just have
- 19:46Speaker 1: a combo A couple of days ago, let our yes,
- 19:48Speaker 1: be yeses and noseby nos. I told you I was
- 19:50Speaker 1: gonna get scarscar and what can you chop my knees
- 19:53Speaker 1: from under me? And what I say in the car
- 19:56Speaker 1: about that the trusting thing? Do you remember what I
- 19:59Speaker 1: said myself? Scouts have a.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Letter down a lot in the past.
- 20:05Speaker 1: You remember, But this is the moment, this is the
- 20:07Speaker 1: moment where you're proving yes, yeah, this shift is gonna happen.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, shift was happening. A shift was happening, and I
- 20:15Speaker 3: did prove myself.
- 20:16Speaker 4: The funny thing, too, is we're saying all this and
- 20:18Speaker 4: going back and forth over a baby seat, like I'm
- 20:20Speaker 4: holding the baby sheet.
- 20:21Speaker 2: I forgot about that. I'm leaning over to talk to him.
- 20:25Speaker 3: We couldn't see each other in the car with the
- 20:28Speaker 3: way the sofa like cramming everything in big l couch
- 20:32Speaker 3: like took two trips and baby seat is literally to
- 20:35Speaker 3: where we cannot see each other. We're just staring straight forward,
- 20:39Speaker 3: having this full on breakdown of like, yeah, Colevin, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 3: like I've done a bad job in the past telling
- 20:46Speaker 3: Jill that I would be there at a certain time
- 20:48Speaker 3: and I show up late or I do something else
- 20:52Speaker 3: and I forget about blah blah blah. Colevin's just over here,
- 20:55Speaker 3: can't see me, and he's like, oh, yeah, sure, I
- 20:58Speaker 3: get that man, this guy I met like four days ago.
- 21:03Speaker 4: It was good, so obviously, so I go back, you know,
- 21:07Speaker 4: an hour or two passes. He texts me absolved of
- 21:10Speaker 4: all crimes with like a salute emoji in quotes. I
- 21:13Speaker 4: stand corrected, I go all caps back out to Alan bad.
- 21:21Speaker 4: She said, I may even pick the movie tonight. And
- 21:27Speaker 4: I did what good leverage? Good leverage? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:30Speaker 4: but I feel like she took your helmet. Yeh, she did,
- 21:33Speaker 4: she did. I still got some playing time there in
- 21:36Speaker 4: the fourth quarter.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's like you knew what the game plan was,
- 21:40Speaker 1: you trusted your preparation, you knew the job, you knew
- 21:46Speaker 1: the assignment. And a teammate walks over like hey, are
- 21:49Speaker 1: you sure you're good, and you're like yeah, like I
- 21:52Speaker 1: have this all mathed out.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm good to go.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'm ready to go in the game, and like, ah,
- 21:57Speaker 1: you've messed up one too many times in the past.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Give me your helmet, Like that's what happened. You did
- 22:03Speaker 1: a better job listening, But you can't let you. You
- 22:06Speaker 1: can't let her take your helmet. I got like, I
- 22:09Speaker 1: can sit there and hear my teammate out, but you
- 22:12Speaker 1: can't take my helmet from me. Hey, give me that
- 22:15Speaker 1: helmet bag. Yeah, I'm taking up scars car. You got
- 22:18Speaker 1: I got this, Like, no, dude, I'm going in the game.
- 22:22Speaker 1: This is what we talked about.
- 22:23Speaker 3: If Coleman's not in the car, I don't I don't
- 22:27Speaker 3: let the helmet be taken.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I was gonna say, you like, if I'm mapping out,
- 22:32Speaker 1: you do a better job of listening. Yeah, then I
- 22:35Speaker 1: probably would have.
- 22:36Speaker 3: If he wasn't in the car, I would have been
- 22:39Speaker 3: extremely defensive of my situation of like, I am going
- 22:44Speaker 3: to get there on time.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I will get our daughter.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Everything's right, right, you got to You got a homie
- 22:51Speaker 1: who's kind of just you know, they're new, they're a
- 22:52Speaker 1: week old. Yees semen Team six are sitting in the
- 22:58Speaker 1: sitting in the passenger. You don't want to ask gladden
- 23:00Speaker 1: from one of your boys to where it's like, oh ship,
- 23:02Speaker 1: like they're getting after it over a pickup. Yes, this
- 23:07Speaker 1: is the first taste for my wife to that. I
- 23:10Speaker 1: tell Coleman, I go, if we're playing.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Around the horn.
- 23:12Speaker 1: You're getting all the intro to Jill, my wife.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Jill, and I apologize not on her behalf. She didn't
- 23:25Speaker 3: need to apologize, but I'm apologizing to am of Hey,
- 23:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry I put you in this situation because my
- 23:31Speaker 3: I think my wife rocks. A lot of people at
- 23:33Speaker 3: the office enjoy her and like her, and I hate
- 23:37Speaker 3: that your first iteration of my wife is her basically
- 23:39Speaker 3: being like taking your helment. Sure, you gotta be a
- 23:42Speaker 3: man of your word. Dude, what are you doing?
- 23:44Speaker 2: And I'm sitting there, Yeah, I'm sitting there. And I
- 23:48Speaker 2: also broke out with him. I'm like, pull man.
- 23:50Speaker 3: I could be on the back nine of a golf
- 23:52Speaker 3: course hammered right now. I'm just helping a guy get
- 23:55Speaker 3: his sofa.
- 23:56Speaker 6: Like, damn man, there's the oral term where you death
- 24:00Speaker 6: Hinslight twenty twenty.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Should have gone to daycare asking where Scar, Scar?
- 24:05Speaker 1: Where's my daughter? Who picked her up? What'd she look like?
- 24:08Speaker 1: A short blot?
- 24:10Speaker 2: My wife's tall?
- 24:10Speaker 1: For what's going on here?
- 24:16Speaker 2: I should have I should.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Have you guys get a good movie. Yeah, we got
- 24:21Speaker 1: a good movie. And we did have a good talk about.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Uh communication, about planning and scheduling, and I was able to.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Show her that, like because we we've been talking about
- 24:39Speaker 2: this on.
- 24:39Speaker 3: The podcast a lot lately with me is schedule, schedule, schedule,
- 24:44Speaker 3: and prioritizing family time and being at a place on time,
- 24:50Speaker 3: being at the right place. This is something that I
- 24:56Speaker 3: have struggled with, Like I do a poor job of
- 24:59Speaker 3: being somewhere on time. I do a poor job of
- 25:02Speaker 3: scheduling stuff where I'm telling Jeremy, oh shit, I have PTO,
- 25:08Speaker 3: like in four days, I totally forgot about that, didn't
- 25:11Speaker 3: put it on the calendar. I've had conversations with you
- 25:14Speaker 3: about that, that that's my shortcoming. So like there is
- 25:17Speaker 3: a one thousand percent a lesson to be learned that
- 25:21Speaker 3: I need to do a better job of taking control
- 25:26Speaker 3: of my life and my schedule so that it does
- 25:29Speaker 3: not affect others around me, that that legit needs to happen.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And Jill is coming from a great place in challenging
- 25:37Speaker 3: me to get better on that.
- 25:40Speaker 2: But in that moment, I was kind of on top
- 25:41Speaker 2: of that. I was on top.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Right, you ain't got a new to me from my boy?
- 25:47Speaker 1: What's going on? She's she's acting like she's always got
- 25:51Speaker 1: a caller on me, like, lord joking, do you see
- 26:07Speaker 1: what I deal with?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Do you see this bullshit I made?
- 26:11Speaker 1: I made a leveraging play last night that didn't really
- 26:13Speaker 1: work out for me. What happened subtle, subtle. I won't
- 26:19Speaker 1: even say dad lost, maybe husband lost, because my uh
- 26:22Speaker 1: my dear wife. She came downstairs and she was like, okay,
- 26:24Speaker 1: so what happened at bedtime? Sweeterar let me tell you
- 26:27Speaker 1: what happened at bedtime? I was on rude duty last night,
- 26:31Speaker 1: and Webb was just she's about to start school up
- 26:33Speaker 1: next week, so it's been summertime. It's been summer action mode.
- 26:38Speaker 1: We get in the bedroom, she's changing, she's doing all
- 26:40Speaker 1: the things that she's got to do to get ready
- 26:42Speaker 1: for bed. She wants me to put on her pjas
- 26:45Speaker 1: even though she can do it, she can do it herself.
- 26:47Speaker 1: So I'm giving her a good little not like stern
- 26:50Speaker 1: talking to it, but a good lecture of like, hey,
- 26:52Speaker 1: when you when you get all, who do you think
- 26:53Speaker 1: puts on dad ass close? And she's like I was
- 26:56Speaker 1: like yeah. I was like, who do you think takes off
- 26:57Speaker 1: dad ass close? She's like dad Dad. I was like, yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 1: people don't put my clothes on, it off. When you
- 27:03Speaker 1: get older, like people aren't going to be We're not
- 27:05Speaker 1: going to be there to do everything for you. So
- 27:06Speaker 1: when you are capable of doing something on your own,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I love allowing you to do it. Number One, you
- 27:12Speaker 1: like to do it. I love you feeling empowered to
- 27:14Speaker 1: do it. I want to grow. I want you to
- 27:16Speaker 1: grow and you have confidence to know that you can
- 27:19Speaker 1: handle yourself on your own. Yeah, and Pj's is something
- 27:22Speaker 1: simple as I'm like putting her pants on and putting
- 27:25Speaker 1: her shirt on, like I'm just giving her this kind
- 27:27Speaker 1: of talking to why it's good that you put on
- 27:29Speaker 1: your own stuff because mom and dad ain't going to
- 27:31Speaker 1: be there one day. She's just looking at me with
- 27:33Speaker 1: her little four year old eyes. She's like, I take
- 27:37Speaker 1: care of myself. I'm like, oh, sweetheart, you don't necessarily
- 27:39Speaker 1: take care of yourself.
- 27:40Speaker 5: You think.
- 27:42Speaker 1: She's like, well, I you know, when I was downstairs
- 27:44Speaker 1: playing today like Abby, I wanted to kind of play
- 27:48Speaker 1: by myself, and I told Abby and Scotty that I
- 27:50Speaker 1: didn't want to be over with me so I can
- 27:52Speaker 1: have some alone time and I played by myself.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, you did a good job.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Kind of communicating what you needed, but you still need
- 28:00Speaker 1: super vision, Like you still need supervision and guidance.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Like, sweetheart, you.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Ain't living on your own. You think you're living on
- 28:04Speaker 1: your own. Let me go drop you at a hotel
- 28:05Speaker 1: and we can figure out if you can live on
- 28:06Speaker 1: your own. I'm like, go uh, And she's like, Dad out,
- 28:11Speaker 1: can I brush my teeth in the morning? That's code
- 28:14Speaker 1: for can we just not brush my teeth tonight? Dad,
- 28:16Speaker 1: Dad sitting there knowing you just you operate a full day.
- 28:19Speaker 1: There's times there right, This.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Is right after the conversation you just had, which no
- 28:25Speaker 3: with real Yeah, with Rue.
- 28:26Speaker 2: She steps back. We kind of laugh.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'm kind of, you know, buttoning up the whole taking
- 28:30Speaker 1: care of yourself. Like you can do your pj's on
- 28:32Speaker 1: your own. This is a simple task that you can do.
- 28:36Speaker 1: She's like, Daddy, can I brush my teeth in the morning.
- 28:38Speaker 1: That's code for like me and Ru. I know my
- 28:41Speaker 1: wife's listening right now, but that's kind of code with us,
- 28:43Speaker 1: is like, we don't have to brush your teeth tonight.
- 28:45Speaker 1: We can get in bed and do story time and
- 28:47Speaker 1: everything else. I negotiate with Rue because I'm saying there
- 28:51Speaker 1: Ru's a talker.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Ru loves to talk. We read a book.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Can we talk about the book? Yes, I tell a story, Daddy,
- 28:57Speaker 1: can we talk about the story? And then she just
- 28:59Speaker 1: she she runs the football with questions of why this,
- 29:02Speaker 1: why that. I brought up shadow Land last night and
- 29:05Speaker 1: she had to break down shadow Land. And then she
- 29:06Speaker 1: was scared about shadow Land when I was leaving because
- 29:08Speaker 1: she's like, there's a lot of shadows in my room
- 29:10Speaker 1: right now, sweetheart, that's imagination World. And so I negotiate
- 29:16Speaker 1: when she says, dead, can I brush my teeth in
- 29:18Speaker 1: the morning? And I'm thinking, yeah, if I can skip
- 29:21Speaker 1: a little something, it's summertime, Like, we brush your teeth.
- 29:24Speaker 1: You've been to the Dennis, you've checked out clean, You're
- 29:26Speaker 1: you're bat in a thousand right now with your teeth, Like,
- 29:28Speaker 1: can you miss the night of brushing your teeth? In
- 29:30Speaker 1: my brain, I'm thinking, yeah, why not? It is summertime.
- 29:34Speaker 1: So I use that as leverage. I'm like, Okay, if
- 29:37Speaker 1: you brush your teeth in the morning, then Dead I
- 29:39Speaker 1: only has to read you one Dead I only has
- 29:41Speaker 1: to tell you one story tonight. Because Rue makes me
- 29:43Speaker 1: tell her stories. Yeah, where I got to make up stories,
- 29:46Speaker 1: and sometimes we had Dad hacks like, hey, use AI
- 29:48Speaker 1: to do stories. I've done those structures. And then it's
- 29:51Speaker 1: like I don't want to sit there and like I'm
- 29:52Speaker 1: just trying to read the story from my phone. So
- 29:54Speaker 1: I rue makes me tell her story. So I got
- 29:57Speaker 1: to come up with stories all the fucking time. She's back,
- 29:59Speaker 1: dadad tell me story when you were little and from
- 30:01Speaker 1: something bad happened.
- 30:03Speaker 2: She always wants something bad in there.
- 30:06Speaker 1: But I negotiate, instead of having the bandwidth and creativity
- 30:09Speaker 1: to manufacture two stories, I'm gonna use this as instead
- 30:14Speaker 1: of me reading a book. And then we go to
- 30:16Speaker 1: brush your teeth, and then we lay in bed and
- 30:18Speaker 1: I tell you another story, and then we talk about
- 30:20Speaker 1: the story. I'm mixing my leverage. You don't want to
- 30:23Speaker 1: brush your teeth. I get that. I respect that. Yea,
- 30:27Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do. Hey, you want to not brush
- 30:29Speaker 1: your teeth tonight? You want to do it in the morning.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Dad only reads you one story and we turn the
- 30:34Speaker 1: lights off, so that means we skip note talking, we
- 30:37Speaker 1: skip the book. Yep, we miss We don't do brush
- 30:41Speaker 1: your teeth, and we get right in bed and we
- 30:43Speaker 1: get in the story action and She's like okay, So
- 30:47Speaker 1: we get in bed and I'm like, hey, let me
- 30:48Speaker 1: brush your pony teel.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Like, dude, the whole long hair thing. I know.
- 30:51Speaker 1: We got a comment in hear about fleeting time and
- 30:53Speaker 1: hairs getting along on the three year old and four
- 30:55Speaker 1: year old. This time, I feel like it's slipping away.
- 30:57Speaker 1: But just diving in on the hair with girls sometimes
- 31:01Speaker 1: I don't know what the hell to do, Like I
- 31:02Speaker 1: want to brush your hair. We would brush your hair
- 31:05Speaker 1: every night, but then she's got so much hair that
- 31:07Speaker 1: no matter what, you got to brush it again in
- 31:09Speaker 1: the morning. Like the shit just tangles all the time
- 31:11Speaker 1: twenty four to seven. Oh yeah, and you can't let
- 31:13Speaker 1: it build up because then bad tangles happen. Then they
- 31:16Speaker 1: fucking cry and like dad is not doing it that hard.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Just sit there and let me work this tangle out.
- 31:22Speaker 1: But a big move for parents out there, for people
- 31:24Speaker 1: is like putting their hair in a braid or putting
- 31:26Speaker 1: their hair in like some type of concoction so that
- 31:28Speaker 1: way it doesn't get all tangly. Overnight, Rue had a
- 31:32Speaker 1: ponytail rock. So I was like, so before we crawl
- 31:35Speaker 1: in bed, grab the brush or I can brush your hair.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I'm thinking in my head, we've done the braid stuff.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Like again, I'm not fully in tune with everything that
- 31:43Speaker 1: has to be done. I can't braid hair. I'm not
- 31:45Speaker 1: there yet. I'm just not there in my developmental braiding hair.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I'm not gonna let her go into Scottie's room because
- 31:51Speaker 1: mama's putting Scottie down. But her hair is in a ponytail.
- 31:53Speaker 1: So I'm like, I guess she wants to sleep in
- 31:55Speaker 1: her ponytail to night, and maybe that's a move to
- 31:58Speaker 1: not get half.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Of it tangled. You're in a ponytail.
- 32:00Speaker 1: You're better at being a girl than I am. Yeah, Like,
- 32:03Speaker 1: I'll let you do you.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 1: So she grabs a brush and I start brushing just
- 32:08Speaker 1: her ponytail, Like I don't take the ponytail out and
- 32:10Speaker 1: brush over har Yeah, I just brushed the ponytail because
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm like, that hair is probably gonna be cool because
- 32:15Speaker 1: it's up, it's tight, it's in the ponytail.
- 32:18Speaker 2: So we go to bed. I just read her story.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I get done with bedtime before Charlo. Usually Scotty's the
- 32:23Speaker 1: easy one. Scotty's the one you can put down. You
- 32:24Speaker 1: read a few stories, you put her down.
- 32:26Speaker 2: You're usually out.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Ruse the longer one because she wants to talk the
- 32:29Speaker 1: whole time. But I get out early, and I kind
- 32:31Speaker 1: of leave the bedroom and kind of look down the
- 32:33Speaker 1: hall and I have a little smirk on my face, like, ah, yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: that's done for the day.
- 32:36Speaker 2: And Charles's sitting in there seeing you get out early.
- 32:38Speaker 1: She's going yeah, because charl usually comes in and kiss
- 32:43Speaker 1: her good night. Like, well, I'm in the middle of
- 32:44Speaker 1: storytime or something, and now Charles gotta be the last
- 32:46Speaker 1: one in, which is good for me. Like I'm going downstairs.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, I started Reach her. So I
- 32:51Speaker 1: want to dive in on an episode of Reacher. I
- 32:53Speaker 1: want to see if any of my new flicks are out.
- 32:54Speaker 1: If ted Lasso's out, if Lucky's out. I watched The
- 32:57Speaker 1: House of Dragon. I'm caught up there, so like, let
- 32:59Speaker 1: me die, man, I get to kick the feet up.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Let's watch a little bit of Reach. You might as
- 33:02Speaker 1: well sue him. Get everything ready tidy up downstairs, Let's
- 33:07Speaker 1: get these toys away. Wife's gonna be like, oh, you
- 33:09Speaker 1: crush it downstairs, honey, And I'm like, you just add
- 33:11Speaker 1: a gold start of the calendar.
- 33:12Speaker 2: There's the guy married kick the feet up.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I got reach your plane, And all of a sudden,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I hear crying, crying from Scotty's room. Charles's been in
- 33:19Speaker 1: Rou's room for a moment, and I'm like, Ru's got her,
- 33:21Speaker 1: Like Ru's probably telling her how she scared a shadow
- 33:23Speaker 1: Land and telling her the entire story that I told
- 33:25Speaker 1: her about shadow Land. I hear Scotty start crying, and
- 33:29Speaker 1: then I know Charles up in Ru's room, and I'm
- 33:31Speaker 1: thinking there could be a moment where Ru's breaking down,
- 33:33Speaker 1: Sky's breaking down. I'm like, fuck, And now I gotta
- 33:35Speaker 1: go up there because I can't just leave her. I
- 33:37Speaker 1: can't just feed Charlo to the wolves. I can't feed
- 33:39Speaker 1: my wife to the wolves. I go up there, give
- 33:41Speaker 1: Scott to your passy, give her Lama, give her a
- 33:43Speaker 1: little kiss good night.
- 33:44Speaker 2: She's good.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Walk in the Rose room and I'm like, is everything okay?
- 33:47Speaker 1: And I turned the corner and I see Charles on
- 33:50Speaker 1: her knees and she's got Ruth's ponytail out and she's
- 33:52Speaker 1: just brushing her hair, and She's like, what's going on?
- 33:55Speaker 1: Like why wasn't her hairbrush? Like Ruth said that Ruth
- 33:58Speaker 1: said that vers said that you guys, you didn't brush
- 34:01Speaker 1: your teeth, and oh yeah, we made a deal. We
- 34:08Speaker 1: negotiated a deal. And so I quickly kind of like, okay,
- 34:11Speaker 1: they're doing this. It seemed like they're in a decent mood,
- 34:13Speaker 1: so let me just leave the room. When I says,
- 34:15Speaker 1: I'm watching TV. And that's when the first part of
- 34:17Speaker 1: the story comes in. Whe Charle walks down. She's like, hey, so,
- 34:19Speaker 1: what the hell happened at what happened at bedtime? I
- 34:22Speaker 1: was like, we made a deal, Like she had an
- 34:26Speaker 1: she has she wanted to not brush your teeth. I'm thinking, okay,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna leverage that and just tell one story. Like
- 34:32Speaker 1: she checked out, She checks out at the dentists, smooth,
- 34:34Speaker 1: she's clean, like.
- 34:35Speaker 2: She can miss for a night, summertime. Man.
- 34:38Speaker 1: And she's like, you are the parent, like you gotta
- 34:41Speaker 1: you gotta tell her that she's brushing her teeth. And
- 34:43Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, but sweetheart, I had an interest,
- 34:46Speaker 1: Like I knew her interest was not one to brush
- 34:48Speaker 1: your teeth.
- 34:48Speaker 2: My interest was.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Getting it down to one story. And we both come
- 34:52Speaker 1: like everybody won. She just told me to you that
- 34:54Speaker 1: she didn't brush your teeth. She's like, oh, when does
- 34:58Speaker 1: she brush your teeth in the morning? Did she brush
- 35:00Speaker 1: her teeth? Do you make sure she brush her teeth
- 35:02Speaker 1: in the morning. I'm like, no, but she told me
- 35:03Speaker 1: she's gonna brush your teeth in the morning. She never
- 35:05Speaker 1: remembers that she's gonna brush your teeth in the morning.
- 35:08Speaker 1: She just says that. So it's like she just doesn't
- 35:10Speaker 1: brush your teeth. She's got it, like the fair points.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Fair points. But we made a good, solid and we
- 35:16Speaker 1: had a good solid negotiation, and that's how those work.
- 35:20Speaker 1: She had something I identified, I brought it to her,
- 35:23Speaker 1: We agreed, we shook hands, Yeah, and we executed the negotiation.
- 35:27Speaker 2: The hair thing, I brushed her ponytail. I didn't know
- 35:29Speaker 2: if you want me to.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Take it out.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Right before that, she aged, you're telling you you ain't
- 35:35Speaker 2: got it by yourself. You can't do shit into your wife.
- 35:43Speaker 1: She brush your teeth on the boys, got it.
- 35:48Speaker 2: She's gonna do great, Udie.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Oh, that should have been my fault. She told me
- 35:51Speaker 1: she was gonna start taking care of herself, like.
- 35:53Speaker 2: So so sweet.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I'm also challenging her, yeah, to take care of herself. Yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 1: we'll find out tomorrow of this all off. It's honey,
- 36:01Speaker 1: it's layers. It's layers. You just look at the first
- 36:04Speaker 1: leger go deeper and then you kind of sit there
- 36:07Speaker 1: the awkward pause for three seconds. I'm sitting there for
- 36:09Speaker 1: three seconds thinking to myself, can I press play and
- 36:11Speaker 1: start watching again? Are we now having a conversation? Because
- 36:15Speaker 1: this is this Reacher honey, it's based on novels. I
- 36:18Speaker 1: sit there and I kind of like, do one of those.
- 36:19Speaker 1: I like, look back, and I sit started looking at
- 36:21Speaker 1: the TV again. I look back and I was like,
- 36:23Speaker 1: can I turn the show back on? She's like, yeah,
- 36:27Speaker 1: you can turn the show back on.
- 36:28Speaker 2: She's laughing.
- 36:29Speaker 1: We're going back and forth because it's I am always
- 36:32Speaker 1: trying to find some wiggle room. So okay, yeah, you
- 36:34Speaker 1: don't want to brush your teeth. How about this, let's
- 36:37Speaker 1: get right in bed, let's turn the lights off. So
- 36:40Speaker 1: that was my pseudo kind of dad lost for a moment.
- 36:44Speaker 1: It was almost chaotic. I thought they were both breaking
- 36:47Speaker 1: down upstairs. I was like, oh fuck, I kind of
- 36:48Speaker 1: left her with the grenade. I need to go up there.
- 36:50Speaker 1: And then I see her on her knees, like they're
- 36:52Speaker 1: on the bed, sitting up You know what, I mean,
- 36:54Speaker 1: and she's like brushing her hair and I'm like.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Fuck, I didn't why threw rat? She's a punk dude.
- 37:00Speaker 2: That's that's like rat, like third time, right, that's what
- 37:03Speaker 2: she rats a lot? She rats a lot, but rat. Yeah,
- 37:07Speaker 2: and kids do it.
- 37:08Speaker 1: And I'm trying to figure out the pocket where I
- 37:10Speaker 1: can try and actually break him down when you say
- 37:13Speaker 1: stuff and when you don't.
- 37:15Speaker 3: But there's Grayary in there. Yeah, and Game of Thrones
- 37:19Speaker 3: might be a good teaching tool there. See, honey, it's
- 37:21Speaker 3: little Finger.
- 37:22Speaker 1: If he tells seriously that nets that this net's in
- 37:25Speaker 1: a whole world of trouble. So he's he's got to
- 37:28Speaker 1: keep his mouth shut like you need to the mama's.
- 37:31Speaker 1: But if you watch Sweetereart, I just told you about
- 37:34Speaker 1: a little Finger, if you watch Olf in the recent
- 37:37Speaker 1: House of Dragons, you can't light everybody. You can't light
- 37:41Speaker 1: everybody because then what do you gotta do? You got
- 37:43Speaker 1: right off on your dragon. It's you versus the world.
- 37:46Speaker 1: You're gonna end up drunking a porter potty that she
- 37:52Speaker 1: says boozers or anytime it's a new drink. She's like
- 37:55Speaker 1: dead as their booze in there. And I'm like, no,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I guess Choros Jones does are boost? You can't have that,
- 38:03Speaker 1: there's booze in it. So any new drink is there
- 38:07Speaker 1: booze in there? Can I have a drink? And just
- 38:09Speaker 1: holding up sippy cups too? I'm sure good boozing this.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I'm boozing that, uddie.
- 38:15Speaker 2: You're good. Yeah.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Do we want just so we don't have them kidnapped
- 38:20Speaker 3: all day? We want to rip into these packs?
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, let's change us into a dove right now.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Let's get a little dad rip going here. Yeah, you
- 38:28Speaker 4: may have seen across the ripping with the boys socials,
- 38:30Speaker 4: Taylor has been chasing electrolytes. I figure, let's bring some electrolytes,
- 38:34Speaker 4: hopefully to the dads here.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And so we got electro lights in our hand right now. Yeah,
- 38:38Speaker 1: what exactly are we looking for? So this is top
- 38:41Speaker 1: for surgeons. The hit that we're looking for is called electrolyts. Okay,
- 38:45Speaker 1: and it's just gonna say electrolytes.
- 38:46Speaker 2: You see it looks nice and pretty.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Also, do we want to do if we get a
- 38:51Speaker 1: big Derrick Henry Sure, friend of the show, friend of
- 38:55Speaker 1: the show, Calvin Ridley Sure, kind of a friend of
- 39:00Speaker 1: acts Smith and Jigba.
- 39:01Speaker 2: That's wide receiver in the league.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I don't see electrolyts, no electric and how how do
- 39:08Speaker 1: they know that?
- 39:09Speaker 2: We're dead?
- 39:10Speaker 1: Loss? And right now take that loss?
- 39:14Speaker 4: Anything you see some nice collar, but otherwise electro lights,
- 39:21Speaker 4: something maybe an auto chef.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Doesn't matter if there's like a game boy or something
- 39:27Speaker 1: behind the player.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Those are voltaic voltankic? Are those great?
- 39:32Speaker 1: They're they're an insert, They're okay, Okay, I got Caleb
- 39:34Speaker 1: Williams nice vull take something.
- 39:38Speaker 2: It seems like I got doctors. Oh, cam Wood can
- 39:40Speaker 2: doctors will take those?
- 39:42Speaker 3: And just I'm I'm just making sure because I don't
- 39:46Speaker 3: know what I'm looking for.
- 39:47Speaker 2: You're good. It sounds that you want to find elect
- 39:50Speaker 2: Are all just basic cards? Yeah? You may have like
- 39:53Speaker 2: a silver in there, nothing crazy, okay, cool? Yeah, these
- 39:56Speaker 2: these are all basic cards as well. Just want to
- 39:59Speaker 2: make sure.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Yep, yo, I'm telling you you will know if it's electric, right, Okay,
- 40:03Speaker 4: it says it.
- 40:04Speaker 1: That card on the left is pretty sick. Is that
- 40:06Speaker 1: a chief? Yeah, that's a fun one.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Chris Jones.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Chris Jones, that's a good player.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Chris Jones.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Wonder if he's got any dogs Hey, we got a
- 40:15Speaker 1: race to give away. Yeah, we got to rip our guy,
- 40:18Speaker 1: by the way, the long snapper.
- 40:20Speaker 2: He has a card. We need it. Yeah, yeah, bro,
- 40:23Speaker 2: we need that.
- 40:24Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Casey Critter creator.
- 40:27Speaker 6: He got k R E I T E R. But
- 40:30Speaker 6: his handle is Critter sixty one. So I'm gonna go
- 40:33Speaker 6: with Casey Critter.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Okay, Casey dude.
- 40:36Speaker 1: So it's shouting out Casey Creator, long snapper for the
- 40:38Speaker 1: Arizona Cardinals. We were at the Hall of Fame game
- 40:41Speaker 1: last week in Can't, Ohio, and we're sitting on the
- 40:43Speaker 1: sideline pre game. All the boys are warming up, and
- 40:46Speaker 1: Casey runs up massive fan of for the dads. If
- 40:48Speaker 1: he's listening right now, Casey, good luck out there in camp.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I hope you're keeping your head low. Come on, I
- 40:52Speaker 1: hope you're keeping those camp bys right. But he starts
- 40:55Speaker 1: talking about his trash Day failures with his wife and
- 40:59Speaker 1: he had a voicemailed he said he left Deeke's kicking
- 41:02Speaker 1: himself that it didn't make the cut because he had
- 41:04Speaker 1: a whole debacle where it's like the dog poops in
- 41:07Speaker 1: something and it's loose in the trash bag.
- 41:10Speaker 2: He gets the trash bag he's got.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Ship on the shoulder, but he's just talking to me
- 41:14Speaker 1: about good old fashioned dad lost with the trash and
- 41:16Speaker 1: he shout out the boys, you're talking about what you are?
- 41:19Speaker 2: He shouting out Deeke. He double took on Chef.
- 41:21Speaker 1: He's like, oh, Chef, what what a.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Stunt because that's a specimens.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I'm just sitting there just seeing an NFL player talk
- 41:30Speaker 1: about listening for the deads and he's like, man, I'm
- 41:32Speaker 1: two months behind. I'm still trying to catch up. I
- 41:34Speaker 1: rock you guys on my commute every day, and I'm like, dude,
- 41:37Speaker 1: this is fucking awesome to hear. Welcome to the show, bro,
- 41:39Speaker 1: Welcome to the community.
- 41:42Speaker 2: He's gonna catch up.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I wonder if he has dogs. We got to dive
- 41:44Speaker 1: into the dog's conversation because we have followed us from
- 41:46Speaker 1: last week we have dog talk. I'm gonna kick this
- 41:50Speaker 1: dog conversation off with a comment here from Frank calls
- 41:54Speaker 1: sixty six zero three. Shout out Jack. Great showing shout
- 41:58Speaker 1: out Jack in the comments, Frank calls sixty six zero three.
- 42:04Speaker 1: This is a comment on YouTube that's gonna kick off
- 42:07Speaker 1: this dog conversation that we're gonna come back to with Shrham.
- 42:09Speaker 2: I'm ready.
- 42:11Speaker 1: The dog conversation is exactly why I love this pod.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Love how you guys keep it real even when you
- 42:16Speaker 1: know there will be lots of upset people in the comments.
- 42:18Speaker 1: There's no shortage of that, that is true. Sure, we've
- 42:21Speaker 1: been dealing with the same conversation in our house for now.
- 42:24Speaker 1: We have decided to keep the dog due to the
- 42:26Speaker 1: commitment we made when adopting him, but the conversation does
- 42:30Speaker 1: get revisited on almost a monthly basis. That's the kickoff
- 42:34Speaker 1: the convo again. Shirm's in a situation where him and
- 42:36Speaker 1: Wifey we're like, hey, do we send Do we send
- 42:39Speaker 1: our two little dogs on a permanent vacation a grandma's
- 42:41Speaker 1: house down in Texas? Actually own a grandma's house, actually
- 42:44Speaker 1: loving home. Yes, because of some of the things that
- 42:47Speaker 1: these dogs do that cause some chaos in your household.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Just to kick it off this for Brett Anderson sixteen
- 42:55Speaker 1: thirty on YouTube, just quitting on the dogs is crazy work.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Giving them the grandma is quitting. I'm sorry, boys, if
- 43:06Speaker 1: you can't handle two dogs, but you think you can
- 43:08Speaker 1: handle more kids.
- 43:10Speaker 2: What are we doing here? What are we going now?
- 43:13Speaker 5: Where?
- 43:13Speaker 2: Are we doing Brett? Brett brings up good points?
- 43:17Speaker 1: Does he does?
- 43:21Speaker 2: He bring up good point?
- 43:22Speaker 7: Sure?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Because what I'm hearing you can't handle two dogs, but
- 43:27Speaker 1: you think you can handle more more kids.
- 43:29Speaker 2: That is that's a shot.
- 43:31Speaker 1: That's that's bull that's a bullshit shot.
- 43:34Speaker 2: That's a bullshit shit.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Because your heart, mind, body, soul when you're thinking about
- 43:38Speaker 1: your kiddos and you're looking at your kiddos, your kiddos
- 43:40Speaker 1: are why you're even thinking about giving the dogs win
- 43:43Speaker 1: the first place. But you just you love the kids
- 43:46Speaker 1: so much or kids. If you're wanting to have more
- 43:49Speaker 1: kids to where it's just it's a zero question in
- 43:51Speaker 1: your mind. The dog just becomes a lower priority. I
- 43:54Speaker 1: hate to say it, but I like a take it
- 43:56Speaker 1: or leave it. Some people are obsessed with their dogs,
- 43:58Speaker 1: and that's totally fine. Again A dog guy, dog guy,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I have a dog waffle. She shot all over the
- 44:03Speaker 1: house and puke all over the house over the weekend.
- 44:04Speaker 1: And I brought it the same question, when can we
- 44:06Speaker 1: get rid of her?
- 44:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:08Speaker 1: But if that's a kiddle, like you're just so like
- 44:11Speaker 1: kid's gonna be in your life forever, your soul wants
- 44:13Speaker 1: them in their life forever you can handle more than
- 44:15Speaker 1: you can handle more kids without being like, oh I
- 44:17Speaker 1: failed to take into care of three dogs, we shouldn't
- 44:19Speaker 1: have more kids. No, no, you just see dogs.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Dogs. It's people dogs. Yeah, it is. And I want Brett.
- 44:28Speaker 3: To know, in all seriousness, he is talking to the
- 44:31Speaker 3: guy that, in this situation with my wife, I'm the
- 44:35Speaker 3: one that has advocated strongly to keep the dogs. And
- 44:40Speaker 3: I'm not just talking, oh honey, we can't do that.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I'm talking honey, that's bullshit. We're not getting rid of
- 44:46Speaker 3: the fucking dogs. Quit talking about it like we made
- 44:50Speaker 3: a commitment. We're keeping the dogs.
- 44:52Speaker 2: So this is a follow up conversation after last week's no.
- 44:55Speaker 3: No, no, no, I'm just talking in the past, gotcha.
- 44:58Speaker 3: When Jill has this baby bump with a little scarscard
- 45:02Speaker 3: grown in her and she's like, I'm just telling you,
- 45:05Speaker 3: And usually ten out of ten times Jill's right when
- 45:08Speaker 3: she says I'm just telling you, I got a feeling
- 45:11Speaker 3: I feel like this could be an issue.
- 45:14Speaker 2: We need to look into this. How are we going
- 45:16Speaker 2: to deal with the dogs?
- 45:17Speaker 6: Now?
- 45:17Speaker 2: I'm sitting there going don't worry about it. I got it.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I got it. It's gonna be good.
- 45:23Speaker 3: And now I'm kind of sitting here on the other
- 45:24Speaker 3: side and I'm like, damn, Like Jill was right. And
- 45:29Speaker 3: then when I bring up this stuff with the snarling
- 45:31Speaker 3: and the snapping that one time from Wrigley, it like
- 45:36Speaker 3: it helped a lot having that conversation with you guys
- 45:40Speaker 3: and all of you guys collectively being like that, that
- 45:44Speaker 3: changes the situation.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Oh, what absolutely changes the situation. I had a buddy
- 45:49Speaker 1: back in the day. I was in high school. So
- 45:51Speaker 1: again this is dog love her peak, right, like dogs
- 45:54Speaker 1: like you just grow up, you love the animals. And
- 45:58Speaker 1: dog made a little, I guess, a little move on
- 46:00Speaker 1: the kiddo, nothing like egregious, but something. And he shot
- 46:03Speaker 1: the fucking dog. And you tell it, and we're talking
- 46:16Speaker 1: eight this is like, you know, country boy in Missouri.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was just the first time I.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Kind of witnessed the human have that switching their soul
- 46:27Speaker 1: to where when he told me it didn't even face
- 46:30Speaker 1: him when he was telling me, oh, yeah, because he's
- 46:32Speaker 1: older than me, because he had two kids at the time.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Yeah they were grown and obviously they were growing up
- 46:38Speaker 1: and stuff like that.
- 46:39Speaker 2: But yeah, he he shot the dog.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I mean, and I'm like, hey, how were you able
- 46:45Speaker 1: to even fucking bring yourself Today's like it ain't It's
- 46:48Speaker 1: pretty cut and dry with me.
- 46:53Speaker 3: I know a lot of people that take their that
- 46:55Speaker 3: stance with pets and their kids, like you do some
- 47:00Speaker 3: into my kid. Yeah, there ain't no way you're gonna
- 47:04Speaker 3: be able to stop what I'm about to do, too,
- 47:06Speaker 3: said animal that just did that to my kid. And
- 47:09Speaker 3: I get that that's a real thing, yeah, I but
- 47:13Speaker 3: just a perspective on the extreme.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, hey, you're you're delivery of uh yeah, you know,
- 47:20Speaker 1: there's something like unforgivable really bad. Shut the dog, yeah,
- 47:25Speaker 1: you know what, nothing egregious, like he didn't like full
- 47:27Speaker 1: on bite, but maybe like a little aggression and uh,
- 47:31Speaker 1: shut the dog. Keep pumped one in them.
- 47:34Speaker 2: God, I know. And I was just there were petty sick.
- 47:41Speaker 1: I was scared hearing that.
- 47:42Speaker 3: There it goes in the uh in the comments with
- 47:45Speaker 3: the raccoon thing, They're like, sure, why haven't you just
- 47:48Speaker 3: gone up into the crawl space and just you know,
- 47:51Speaker 3: shout it do like a little twenty two calibers so
- 47:54Speaker 3: it doesn't scare the neighbors, and you know, just take
- 47:57Speaker 3: care of the raccoons. I'm like, I'm within any limits,
- 48:00Speaker 3: Like I'm not out in the country.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Could just go up there and just.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Some raccoons. I don't know what they said, put four
- 48:09Speaker 1: in the coon.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Well there were four raccoons in that. Oh yeah, and
- 48:13Speaker 3: there were four raccoons and then.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Babies.
- 48:22Speaker 3: But to that point, dude, like I felt that rage
- 48:28Speaker 3: when Wrigley did snap and show teeth and start growling,
- 48:34Speaker 3: like it truly was everything inside of me to hold
- 48:39Speaker 3: back on Wrigly, but to also I'd ripped them off
- 48:43Speaker 3: the ground, took them instantly into the laundry room, shut
- 48:46Speaker 3: the laundry room. Scarlett's losing her mind in the kitchen.
- 48:51Speaker 3: I'm like, that was not okay, Like that was nothing
- 48:54Speaker 3: about that was okay. I'm checking Scarlett to see if
- 48:56Speaker 3: she got bitch. She's fine, she didn't get bit. And
- 49:01Speaker 3: then I overhear you because Taylor had asked, like, hey,
- 49:05Speaker 3: how was for the dad's this morning, and you gave
- 49:07Speaker 3: him like a little rundown, little yeah. And I walked
- 49:11Speaker 3: into the room where they're talking about it, and Taylor
- 49:14Speaker 3: literally looks looks me in the eyes and is not
- 49:17Speaker 3: joking instead serious, and it was like Hey, if that's
- 49:20Speaker 3: my kid, my dog, dog's gone, dog's gone next day, Like,
- 49:24Speaker 3: no question, You're you're not doing a bad thing.
- 49:28Speaker 2: So it helps to hear that that, like.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Because you feel like when you're questioning in it, yeah,
- 49:34Speaker 1: you fully know the sigh, You fully know the sphere
- 49:38Speaker 1: in which quitting on the dogs, giving up on the dogs. Man,
- 49:41Speaker 1: this is it doesn't feel like people really do this.
- 49:44Speaker 1: You kind of get in your own head about it.
- 49:46Speaker 1: But then you hear like what Taylor said or my
- 49:49Speaker 1: experience with my buddy being like, oh, it's pretty cut
- 49:50Speaker 1: and dry with me, and you know, shooting the dog.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Oh a hundred percent.
- 49:55Speaker 3: And there's also the euphemism of like, oh it went
- 49:58Speaker 3: to the farm, you know, yeah, like they going by
- 50:02Speaker 3: the way.
- 50:02Speaker 1: We're not saying to shoot your dog. I just want
- 50:03Speaker 1: to make that very clear, very.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah, don't shoot the dog, don't make the dog, don't
- 50:15Speaker 1: kick the dog.
- 50:16Speaker 3: The But yeah they the grandma's house saying like that's
- 50:20Speaker 3: not a euphemism either. It's like literally grandma's house where
- 50:25Speaker 3: they have lived for multiple years, where there are there
- 50:29Speaker 3: are two cats that they get along with very well,
- 50:33Speaker 3: like they are friendly with the cats that still live
- 50:36Speaker 3: at the house. They have this huge backyard to go
- 50:38Speaker 3: explore in. It's like it's a no brainer. So Jaiale
- 50:43Speaker 3: and I sat down after the pod of last week
- 50:47Speaker 3: and I told Jill that I felt comfortable after talking
- 50:50Speaker 3: with you guys because there was some conversations off the
- 50:53Speaker 3: pod as well with you guys. I talked with Taylor
- 50:56Speaker 3: a little bit more about it as well, talked with
- 50:59Speaker 3: my dad about it.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Then broke it down to.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Jail and I said, I think it would be good
- 51:06Speaker 3: if they went to Fort Worth, not on a permanent vacation,
- 51:10Speaker 3: but just on a vacation of a couple months, figure
- 51:14Speaker 3: out a scenario, situation, a plan of Scarlett is now walking,
- 51:21Speaker 3: Scarlet is not because the dogs are so small, dude,
- 51:24Speaker 3: that once she's upright, they will not be in her face.
- 51:28Speaker 3: And when we're able to like communicate, hey with Wrigley,
- 51:32Speaker 3: don't get up in Wrigley's face because one time he
- 51:34Speaker 3: snipped at you like building like you just can't build
- 51:39Speaker 3: that knowledge and that education with Scarlet right now, with
- 51:42Speaker 3: the age that she's at like we're doing, you know, I.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Think it's still gonna be tough to even when they're
- 51:48Speaker 1: one too, because there's just not going to have.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Oh dude, for sure, for sure. I mean it's probably
- 51:53Speaker 3: gonna be like a year, a year or two. I
- 51:55Speaker 3: was gonna say that two months is going to turn
- 51:57Speaker 3: into a year, year or two. They're just gonna turn
- 51:59Speaker 3: into oh sure, forever. Yeah, but the plan is a vaca,
- 52:04Speaker 3: not a permanent vac but ill.
- 52:07Speaker 1: What you want.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Dogs are gone, Yeah, they're gone. Dogs are gone.
- 52:10Speaker 3: So uh, Lisa is coming to pick them up Labor
- 52:14Speaker 3: Day weekend.
- 52:15Speaker 1: So it's happening. It is truly happening. Sure is getting
- 52:19Speaker 1: away as dogs. You're quitting, I'm quitting. I just go
- 52:23Speaker 1: to the to the other side, like you're really gonna quit?
- 52:26Speaker 2: Wait, so okay, Uh funny.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Brat's my best friend from back home, and we talked
- 52:34Speaker 3: on the phone for like an.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Hour and we both agree. You're a quitter, Sherman. Both dogs,
- 52:41Speaker 1: both dogs.
- 52:42Speaker 2: I know you guys were talking about one or the
- 52:44Speaker 2: other or what. I know. That's the best ocsion.
- 52:46Speaker 5: I know.
- 52:47Speaker 3: I think we're gonna I think we're gonna miss it.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna miss him really bad.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Uh.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I am happy for them because right now they are
- 52:57Speaker 3: behind a baby gate to where they basically go out
- 53:01Speaker 3: whenever they're going on a walk or going into the backyard.
- 53:06Speaker 1: So honestly, there was a comment about having a gate up.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and it weigh on a couple people.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Yeah, going off of Sherm's dog situation, we had something
- 53:14Speaker 3: similar where our Pomeranian that we've had for six years
- 53:17Speaker 3: would snap at our one year old crawling around.
- 53:20Speaker 2: We did the baby gate.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Separation for like six months, but it just ended up
- 53:23Speaker 3: having our dogs secluded in a room away from the baby.
- 53:26Speaker 3: It hurt us, but we made the decision to rehome
- 53:28Speaker 3: the dog and it made for a less stressful on
- 53:30Speaker 3: edge household where we were tiptoeing around every dog slash
- 53:34Speaker 3: baby situation. I've been there with Shrham in the sense
- 53:38Speaker 3: of not giving up on a dog because he was
- 53:41Speaker 3: our world before the baby. But the baby has to
- 53:43Speaker 3: come first, and that's the decision my wife and I made,
- 53:47Speaker 3: which that comes from mccola plays on YouTube. I also,
- 53:51Speaker 3: I do want to shout out just super quick. I
- 53:54Speaker 3: should have put them all together to shout out everybody's names.
- 53:58Speaker 3: I probably all together got around like fourteen dms from
- 54:02Speaker 3: people that were books that were basically like shirm done
- 54:08Speaker 3: this exact same thing, dude, and it's hard and it sucks.
- 54:11Speaker 3: But dogs snipped at baby one time and we were like, yeah,
- 54:15Speaker 3: that ain't happening. And a lot of them very similarly
- 54:19Speaker 3: were like to family members, to in laws, to sisters,
- 54:23Speaker 3: brothers that like one Ed needed, we're happy to have
- 54:27Speaker 3: the dogs and we're going to happy homes, and some
- 54:30Speaker 3: of them were like from shelters, where you can have
- 54:33Speaker 3: the shelter rehome. So there's a different story with everyone,
- 54:37Speaker 3: but I do want to think those people that reached
- 54:39Speaker 3: out to me, like, as weird as it sounds, it
- 54:42Speaker 3: was helpful to be able to read those dms and
- 54:45Speaker 3: be like, Okay, I'm not a complete heartless soul lis dude.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Dude, I know I feel like it happens so naturally
- 54:51Speaker 1: like Waffle. Legitimately the height of love that I felt
- 54:56Speaker 1: having a dog like Waffle because English Bulldogs was like
- 54:59Speaker 1: my number one. English Bulldogs like am Staffs, so you
- 55:01Speaker 1: know Rottweiler growing up, loved the rod Wilers, but obviously
- 55:04Speaker 1: we had a smaller We were in a townhouse at
- 55:06Speaker 1: the time. But when Charles brought Waffle home, dude, I
- 55:08Speaker 1: was elated and Charles pregnant, she's grown, her belly's growing,
- 55:11Speaker 1: and I'm just snuckling on the couch of Waffle, giving
- 55:14Speaker 1: Waffle kisses, like telling Waffle, You're never this, this little
- 55:17Speaker 1: thing growing in here is never going to take the
- 55:19Speaker 1: number one spot. You're gonna be my number one forever.
- 55:21Speaker 1: And I felt that way at the time, and it
- 55:24Speaker 1: just shifts. It's so weird. It just happens like that's
- 55:29Speaker 1: just the way it goes. And I was convinced that
- 55:33Speaker 1: Charle's like you think when Cerulian comes that that Waffle,
- 55:37Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, Waffle's number one forever. And I'll look
- 55:39Speaker 1: at Waffle like nobody's gonna take your spot, like you
- 55:41Speaker 1: mess with her little face, give her kisses and stuff,
- 55:45Speaker 1: and now, like you know, I show her love, but
- 55:48Speaker 1: it's almost like pity love. Yeah I ain't even saying that,
- 55:52Speaker 1: Like I still love on her, not in the same way,
- 55:55Speaker 1: but it's very much like it's dude, kids are just
- 55:58Speaker 1: so it is number one part priority. And it pains
- 56:01Speaker 1: you that you have such a shift to put you
- 56:04Speaker 1: just in this weird headspace because it sucks. But the moment,
- 56:08Speaker 1: the moment, they do get a little territorial it just
- 56:11Speaker 1: I don't know, it just it just happens in you man.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's it's something where like the comment from
- 56:18Speaker 3: Brett where he was talking about like having more kids,
- 56:22Speaker 3: like do you think you'd be able to have more
- 56:24Speaker 3: kids if you can't even handle a dog? The to
- 56:27Speaker 3: add to that mental shift as well with a dog.
- 56:31Speaker 3: It's I'm trying to find the right words to describe it.
- 56:34Speaker 3: At no point do you kind of look down at
- 56:38Speaker 3: your child and think to yourself, oh, well, if this
- 56:42Speaker 3: doesn't work out, like she could go to Grandma's house.
- 56:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you never look at your child in a
- 56:47Speaker 1: way to where it's pure, like obviously it's the responsibilities
- 56:50Speaker 1: are there, they're constant, but you don't like look at
- 56:52Speaker 1: your child in a way that your kid is like
- 56:55Speaker 1: a responsibility. Well, I feel like when I look at
- 57:00Speaker 1: when I look at having waffle or just having dogs
- 57:02Speaker 1: in general, just becomes like a you know, it's like
- 57:05Speaker 1: you're doing your best to be a parent, you're doing
- 57:08Speaker 1: your best to be a husband. You're juggling those things
- 57:11Speaker 1: along with juggling all of your own stresses that you
- 57:14Speaker 1: have going on with her and work, health, whatever. It
- 57:16Speaker 1: is like keeping your keeping everybody's sanity afloat, like embracing
- 57:20Speaker 1: the suck, having a positive and optimistic mentality, having the
- 57:23Speaker 1: fun and love that you have, like growing your family. Yeah,
- 57:26Speaker 1: and the dog ins of just I feel like I
- 57:29Speaker 1: look more at it as like this is just added responsibilities.
- 57:33Speaker 2: And I don't save this out of defense.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Is like truly where my heart is on it, to
- 57:39Speaker 3: like give people full context, if we own the home
- 57:42Speaker 3: that we lived in were renters, I would one hundred
- 57:45Speaker 3: percent have a doggy door going into the backyard. I
- 57:48Speaker 3: would have a brand new fence put in where the
- 57:50Speaker 3: dogs can't escape out of the back and I would
- 57:53Speaker 3: have a baby gate up where they also have their
- 57:55Speaker 3: own space inside of the house from the doggy door,
- 57:58Speaker 3: with their water bowl, their food bowl, and I would
- 58:01Speaker 3: make this work. Like that's where my heart and my
- 58:05Speaker 3: mind are at. I can't do that at my rent house.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I just can't.
- 58:10Speaker 3: I can't do that, which sucks, And that's what I
- 58:14Speaker 3: would truly want to do before I would ever consider
- 58:19Speaker 3: taking this step of like Lisa coming and taking the
- 58:22Speaker 3: dogs to her house. But that's another thing too that
- 58:25Speaker 3: I talked about with Jill, Because it's not like we're
- 58:27Speaker 3: in the housing market. But I've had some conversations with
- 58:30Speaker 3: you of like that that's in our future and like
- 58:35Speaker 3: that's a perfect example of them being able to come back.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Is like Scarlett's three.
- 58:40Speaker 3: Now you know, we have a backyard, we have a
- 58:48Speaker 3: doggy door, like we have a baby gate, we have
- 58:50Speaker 3: a setup that we can do and like, yeah, like
- 58:53Speaker 3: that's what I want.
- 58:55Speaker 2: I want that. Like I'm really sad that the dogs
- 58:59Speaker 2: are going.
- 58:59Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm really gutted because I do love them.
- 59:03Speaker 3: But at the same time, I like, I know that
- 59:07Speaker 3: Scarlet's way more of a priority, and I just keep
- 59:10Speaker 3: on telling myself with like if she had a scar
- 59:14Speaker 3: on her face for the rest of her life, dude,
- 59:16Speaker 3: and I look at that face and see that scar
- 59:19Speaker 3: and know that it's there because of my inability to
- 59:22Speaker 3: take action. I don't want to live with that weight.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Like I even cannot do that, cannot.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Do that to put a ball on it. This is
- 59:32Speaker 1: from EMK Burt on YouTube chef wins the dog Argument.
- 59:37Speaker 1: And he did, I don't even know what he said,
- 59:39Speaker 1: and he did.
- 59:40Speaker 2: I don't even remember what I said. You said there
- 59:42Speaker 2: was some classes that we could take.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, because we also we got to a
- 59:47Speaker 1: solve of even the electric gate, the invisible gate, the
- 59:50Speaker 1: invisible gates.
- 59:52Speaker 8: Also, I like have the cop out of like the
- 59:55Speaker 8: dog that I have. It's really my girlfriend's dog. I'm
- 59:58Speaker 8: like the pseudo dad, but I only get to see her,
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: you know, every once in a while. My girlfriend's also
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: like going to VET school to be a veterinarian. So
- 1:00:04Speaker 8: it's like I'm not gonna have a fucking choice in this.
- 1:00:07Speaker 8: Like she'll you know, she always makes it work. But
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: that's like she loves it too.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: I feel like I can kind of like co.
- 1:00:14Speaker 8: Sign my hey, we'll make it work because I know
- 1:00:18Speaker 8: that at the end of the day, we got I
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: got a badass woman who will one hundred percent make
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: of work and I'll.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Just use life is like dedicated, yes.
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: Tim Grenada. Right now, she starts school in January. She's
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: like touring the college right easy, excited.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Good combo boys, good combo. Thank you to everybody that pitch.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: And this is why we dad, man, this is why
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: we dad.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Even the people that do call me a quitter joking
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: or not, like I appreciate people's inputs. I feel like
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: that's kind of the backbone of the show is people
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: would be able to if they.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Listen to you, if they do a great job of
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: listening to you, they know that it's obviously a very
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: tough decision, and you struggled with it multiple times for sure.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: It ain't like you're just cold hearted, yeah, and being like, Hey,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna go put the dogs down. We're gonna put
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: them down for the long nap, real long. It's always
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: sound tough. Put that dog down tomorrow. It's always shot him,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: not not in my house. Fucking Christ when he dropped
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: that on and I was like, oh my god.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: New Dad's dude, new dad out there.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: This one game from Garret Psalm eight seven four on YouTube.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: He said, first time PT six reporting in with the
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: arrival of our identical twin boys, Cooper and Jonah.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Let's go, Let's go.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: I got one here from Anthony Webber ninety two zero
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: six boys, wife and I are expecting baby number two
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: in January twenty twenty seven. We're having a baby girl,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: our own little Scottie An Webber. Oh, keep doing your thing, guys,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: love the pod. Congratulations to you and your wife, my friend.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: This one comes from for Rocious on YouTube.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: For ros says, Heavy the Brave is a legend for
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: the PT six community. That little girl is going to
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: grow up with so many fans and so many people
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: that lover. He needed the update. Thank you and God
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: bless the pains.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Dude.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I also had followed. People were shouting out Heavy the
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Brave man. This is from Brando zero nine fifty. I
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: love Brandow.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Hit the bong for the brain had.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Me rolling, cry, laughing emojis. Can't wait then, somebody commented
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: on that or replied under that YouTube comment, can't wait
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: to show Evy that clip down the road too funny.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: That is from mister Pain himself.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: That pain dude shout out to me being so hit
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: the bong dude, I was so I was so in
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: tears that when I then tried to say the right
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: thing of gong, I called it a dong. So you
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: said hit the bong, and then I started saying hit
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: the dong.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: That's what Shaye Black here X six wile and YouTube
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: sure I'm correcting Will by saying hitting a dong instead
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: of gong multiple times was classic.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: We just he just sat there and doubled down.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: We said, after he hitting the bong, hit the dog
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: What's crazy too, is when even that clip came out,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I wasn't even aware, and then when I saw gong,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, that is a gong.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: What the fuck am I talking about?
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: There's a there's a few times on the show where
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: like Sirm will start laughing at you and you're like
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: ha ha, and like I can tell you're not registering
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: what the joke is.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: And that was one of those moments.
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: We're looking back, he's dying and it was like Penelope
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: for a half second where you're just like, yeah, hit.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, hit the I'm like, he's really he's really
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: hurting over they hit the bong, Like yeah, I said it,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: but they hit the bong maybe like the voice I
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: don't know I had. Did you know that I'm saying
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: the wrong thing? A hundred percent? Is hilarious.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Here's in my eyes, dude. That that truly.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Was like a visceral, Like that's the hardest I've laughed
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: while crying.
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: The bottom of that card was my favorite thing because
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: Chef's nuck in, We'll camped into a three year old
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: cancer survivor. I was like the best bottom card I
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: think I've ever seen in my life.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: That was crazy. I didn't even know.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Once I read gong in one of the comments, I'm like,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: oh yeah, it's a fucking called a gong. And I'm like,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: maybe the boys didn't know either, Wait didn't he wasn't
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: the guys all knew? Fuck man that Dad. We're in
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: the Create gummies, no free shoutouts, God Create, get on
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: with the boys, man, Come on.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Hey we did.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: We also had a letter a package if you will
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: that as we get into maybe we jump into our
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: crack of cold ones next. But all right, Dylan Williams.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: I wanted to do a quick shout out of Dylan.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: He's sent in from Garrett land and Cattle, which it
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: sounds like he is an employee of Garrett Landing Cattle
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: or an owner.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he says, I see you fellas eat beef. Great thought.
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: Let me send you all a beef bundle from GLC Beef,
- 1:04:53Speaker 6: a director consumer beef company I operate. Oh there you go,
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: so he I mean, we've been in the comments and
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: we were working some other stuff.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: But yeah, shout out a land So.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: Shout out and then shout out Dylan specifically, he sent
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: over all this stuff that was one of the meat steakstics.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Were incredible, by the way. I one of the spicy
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: ones had a little, good, little kick to it. They're
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: so good and they came in clutch.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: Yesterday.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I was looking for a snack before the food got here,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: and I saw him sitting in the fridge the honey
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: jalapeno rack them, oh man, And unfortunately let me get
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: my hands on one of them.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Dylan did ride in in his letter and said, this
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: is Hawkeye country, this is Hawkeye meat.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: Well that's all.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Right, man.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: I I you know, I have a love hate relationship
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: with the Hawkeys as much as I'll literally never I
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: won't say never, but of the time, I won't say
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: anything good about the Iowahawk guys and football, and it's
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: always going to be, you know, we need to beat
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: their ass and they've owned us for the last decade. Yeah,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I always find myself I enjoy all the Iowahawkeye fans.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: They seem like good people.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: They do it from the from the Midwest, like that
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: salt of the earth.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: The only thing different about Nebraska and I was the spelling,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Same with Missouri, the Missouri
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: in that category Cansas. I love that the only thing.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Different with people like that is just a spelling.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: I hadn't heard this until a podcast that was a
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Big twelve football podcast called Heartland Ye podcast.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I never.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Heard the Midwest like referred to as the Heartland. And
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: on the packaging of H. Garrett Land and Cattle, it says,
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: you know manufactured or you know manufactured and harvested from
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: the Heartland, which I love.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: That's good meat. So what we have are we just
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: doing a tasting? Chetti cheese, summer sausage? You doing tasting?
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Was just shouting out, Dylan, Yeah, just shouting him out,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: shout this summersauce.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Cold, Thank you, chef.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Do you like the end? Like butt cut at all?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: All right? Big buck guy, big building on the crack
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: of cold ones, Dude, Mike Cracord cole one. This week
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: brought to us always by fucking Ollipop. Shout out Ollipop
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: forever and always. They need to be uh. I'm really
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: talking to how people need to sponsor the show they do.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Ollipop needs to be our title. They need to be
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: our presenting present And we do have a room anybody
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: out there listening, We do have room for anybody to
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: come in. But the relationship with ollipop. We need to
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: get some ollipop, Mike Crecord Cole on this week, do
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: we try going to the fair on Saturday?
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Yes, at the Williamson County Yeah, dude.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: It's always a great time we've we've been. We've been
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: each year kind of it's it's felt like a tradition
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: where we always have to go now each year because
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: we went with Rue when she went on the little
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: bumblebe ride. Now she's tall enough to hit some of
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: the bigger rides, and I know she's stoked. But we
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: went with the in laws on Saturday, and wouldn't you know,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: it didn't playing on the rain. I want to say.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: We got there around like five clouds raming in and
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: rain started to come. But the crack of cold one
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: is handling the moving target. I'm talking the optimism top
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: to bottom from mom and dad to the in laws
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: to the kiddos and Rue. I thought she'd be way
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: more bummed than she was. Like she was bummed, but
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: it's like, hey, we're gonna spin this around.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: We're out right now.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: We're still gonna go have a good time. Went to
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: a Pilado down in Franklin.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Buddy and it was amazing.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Then we went to you know how we always order
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Uber Handel's homemade ice cream. Yeah, we were like a
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: half a mile away. We went two Handel's and was
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: he out at the picnic table in the ring. We're
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: all like under the umbrella, just having a good time,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: but just turning up moment of like expecting to go
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: to the fair and not doing it and still making
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: an evening out of it. Yeah, that's my crack of.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Cold one, dude, that's a great krack of cold one.
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: I'll the say, will that's really nice because similarly, I
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: was supposed to go fishing on Saturday, and as we
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: got to the boat to put on the trailer, it
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: started raining and unlike your daughter, and my twenty four
- 1:09:01Speaker 8: year old best friend through an absolute, absolute temper tantrum
- 1:09:04Speaker 8: that we couldn't go on the lake like a five
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: year old temper tantrum, was stomping his feet like this
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: is bullshit, dude, the radar wasn't doing this. And hearing that,
- 1:09:13Speaker 8: I cannot wait to call him after work and relay
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: and go. We'll just talked about his four year old
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: daughter having like the best stay after they can't go
- 1:09:20Speaker 8: to the fair.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it was a bummer because we started walking
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: to the fair, we saw the clouds coming in and
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: we were at the entrance, so it's like, you know what,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: let's get in with head if you rise in them
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: when the rain comes, like, we'll figure it out. But
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: they started to not let people in because lightning in
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the distance all that kind of stuff, so we didn't
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: even get to go in and we're kind of just
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: standing there and it was like it all felt like
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: in Unison. I know, for me, I was like, all right,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: good mentality. I was like, we're out right now, dude,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Let's just be optimistic. Let's just keep the energy up.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Let's go find somewhere, let's go out to eat. We
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: got everybody together, let's go out to eat. I'll started
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: trying and look up arcades. Obviously it would have been
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: sick if we were close to daven Busters, but going
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: up to uh Opery Land with David Busters, but also
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: looking at some fun things that we could do. I'm like, man,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: it's rude old enough, like a Scottie keep her keep
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: her wits about her if we like were in an
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: escape room. But we ended up settling on let's go
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: to Plato Plato Rips in Los haven't been there, We
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: hadn't been on the one down to Franklin and German Town.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: It is incredible tapestyle Italian and the food top to
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: bottom a plus.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: So we went to Plato, got in and hit some
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: ice cream afterwards. Pa is so good.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: And there's something like, uh, we talked about it with
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: the Vanderbilt uh spring game where it was raining. Yeah,
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I didn't have the see through bag and.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: The store you you went to a little apparel store.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: Yes, sir, And like, there is such a beauty in
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: that of My mom always have the philosophy of she
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: would say, let the day unfold. Whenever your plans like
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: don't come to fruition or it doesn't work out how
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: you wanted it to, you just let the day unfold,
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: go with the flow. And I love little moments like
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: that because sometimes the best memories come from the rainy day.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: Hey remember when we got ice cream in the rain?
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: Dad?
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and you were sitting there making the funny faces
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: because we all had to squeeze.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Underneath the umbrella and make it worse. There's Scotti taking
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: my ice cream. There you go, dude, Rue experimenting with
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: some birthday cake ice cream. Rue is strictly of vanilla
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: and sprinkles, but now her palette with everything too. She's
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: trying new foods. She's like into trying new foods, and
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: if she doesn't like it, she's like, I don't like it.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: But her trying it's firing us up. We used to
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: be like a one trick pony. Ru is a little girl. Yeah,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: she's a little girl. Now it's yeah, it's nuts. And
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: she starts school next week. Like last night, my wife
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: and I we went to the opening night. She's in Montosori.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: That's right so close to kindergarten. I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: but she's in the three through five age range, going
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: back to the same classroom, one different teacher, but one
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: the same. Yeah, she's fired up, and just the confidence
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: that she has, the confidence that we have now. I
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: remember last year when I was we were on the
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: sew breaking down Ruth's first day of school and the
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: emotions that go into it. And she's coming in and
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: feeling like a little vet in year two, doing the
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: parent doing the parent opening the night thing. Last night,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: sitting down kind of hearing the same stuff, I almost
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: kind of fell asleep. I was like, you can really
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: get anything new out of that. To my wife, She's like,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: it's good to get out and get around all the
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: parents and stuff. I'm like, I know, but yeah, man,
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Ruth's fired up. I'm fired up for he to go
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: back to school. Like we wanted to articulate, like a
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: good summer for we got to go to Europe. We
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: do the pool all the time, Like right now, I
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: want to say, she's out with her mom doing breakfast
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: and they're gonna swim at Uh, they're gonna swim somewhere
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: else today. Have a little like mommy daughter Dadah. But
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: she's had a good summer. She's fired up to go back.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: I'm juiced that she's going back because the school is
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: awesome and a lot of good people there, and it's
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: just fun to see that, just her confidence. We went
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: through a yearbook yesterday and she named all twenty six
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: people that were involved in her class.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, everyone, God, I love that.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, starting to see the little budding of friendships.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll just make up a name.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: But uh, there's a girl named Caroline that's in uh
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Scarlet's daycare that they hit it off. I know, they're
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: only one years old. But like the other kids, when
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: I bring Scarlet in, like in the mornings, they don't
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: look and like smile or get excited. This Caroline girl,
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: every single time I come in with Scarlet, is instantly
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: beaming and like making noises and kind of like doing
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: her hands like this, and any of the pigs that
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: we get from the daycare. It's Caroline and Scarlet hanging
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: out with each other. And I'm like, their buddies, like
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: they're little friends. Like that's crazy that even at a
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: year old, they like they start to make those little
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: like relationships.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I saw a h your enthusiasm with Scarlet
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: and her being she's one now. Yeah, oh, I think
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I saw a comment. I forget what they're like. It's
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: kind of like a d Yeah, I'm like, because you
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: were talking about her elevating from one daycare class to another,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: or just being like sad seeing her friends kind of,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: and I'm just I'm like, after the fact, I'm thinking
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: of the same thing. I'm like, yeah, I mean, they
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: don't necessarily know right now, but it's so funny the
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: enthusiasm you have. It's like you you've you've raised You're
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: like you're on year seven. The way you talk about
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: the emotions going on with your one year old, you.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: Know her friends are in the other classroom, The way.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: You describe some of the situations with Scotty. I'm able
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: to put my I'm able to put my head in
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: your headspace.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Just thinking about.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Ruey with Rubying four, I'm like, yeah, I feeling there,
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: And then after I'm like, yeah, she is only one.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: She's only one. I think about Scotty being twenty one
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: months right now.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: And You're like they're hitting it off, like they hit
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: it off, like I can't even imagine Scotty like having
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: a having all. I can see her getting excited, but
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: like hitting it off. They're like having conversation.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Yea, it was hitting.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: It off even look like like Scarlett picked up a
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: block and went no, no, no.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: I love did.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: She picked up this meat stick and started who roun,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Like Carolina's crawling over she dates the meat stick and
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: they're like they're bonding over it.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: My head does go there. It's so funny, dude. And
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: like the pressure of like wanting to see Scarlett succeed,
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: wanting to like her transition to like work, out into
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: big girl class. But it is such a small hurdle
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: in the same sense. I'll send you some pics, Chef.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: She officially started this Monday in big girl class. So
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: I dropped her off in big girl class, And like, what's.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: The difference with oh, bring her down?
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: What's the bigger to that exact point? Hey, sure, what's
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: the difference? Oh, her naps aren't in cribs anymore. They're
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: in a little sleeping bag that's on the ground.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: The gang, the gang she operates with, it's not tell
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: me time. They crawl now, they crawl now.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: They don't drink their milk out of bottles, They drink
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: them out of cups because.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: They're big girls. They're big girls. They're big girls.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: And then no passes unless they're napping or they're like
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: arriving or leaving. Yeah, the passes during the day, just
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: some big girls.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Did I love it? Continue to be od man either.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Comment here from a dunker Duncan Robinson Duncan Robinson eighty
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: seven ninety on YouTube for will my daughter's almost three
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: in October. Her hair is getting so long and she's
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: getting tall like her dad. When Rue's hair got long
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: and she started growing fast? Did I feel like time
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: was slipping away? Signed Duncan and Boise, dad of an
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: almost three year old girl with a boy on the
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: way doing February. Shout out to you Duncan, congrats and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the boy coming in February. I'm sure you are ecstatic
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: knowing you're getting one of each gender, absolutely like shouting
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: out Shuran for the enthusiasm, dude, who cares if it
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: sounds o d even if I'm thinking like, yeah, that's buddy,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: she's one years old, like you got so much more
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: like I do. You know my stance, I've always hated
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: that because it's like time does move so fast, man,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: it goes like when we my phone is doing a
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: great job of just bringing up moments where Scotty was
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: in not even one yet, and Ru's holding her and
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Rue just seems like she has so much more that
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: baby face, the little crooked teeth of the space teeth
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: and just happiness and just seeing her as a baby
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: compared to where she is now at four. It does
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: feel like time just goes and you got to enjoy
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: that shit. When you dive into a heel blooms. Five
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: types of wealthy breaks down the time you basically spend
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: with your kids until they leave in high school, and
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: you essentially spend like ninety percent of your time with
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: them in these all the way up through high school, right, yeah,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: and after that it is a steep decline in time
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: you get with your kids. And we're young, like we're
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: young in the game with our kids right now. Yeah,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: but it's like even from eighteen, you spend ninety plus
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: percent of your life or seventy five percent whatever math
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: you want to do. The majority of your time spent
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: with your kids is when they're in your house until
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: they leave for college. And then you break it down
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: even more from that, Dude, when they're in high school,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: they have their own they have their own friends, they
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: do their own thing. Like you're more there as a
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: guide and hopefully a listening here, like you're in tight
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: with your boy or your girl or your daughter and
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: they tell you stuff like that's what as a parent,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: you're more kind of I feel like you'll be just
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: more desperate for the connection that you had with them
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: when they were younger, just knowing that they're growing up
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: and dude, they're making their own decisions and let's guide
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: them the right way.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: Hey, you really fucked up here.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: This is why you got iss or oss.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: You're going through all those.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Iterations in high school before that is what middle school.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: You remember how it was in middle school? You have
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: your own homies that you're trying to go over to
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: their house, you're trying to do sleepovers. That's like the
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: part where you're not wanting your parents like in your
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: business as much because you're getting a little bit more
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: autonomy and you're just growing. You're hitting puberty and everything else.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: That's like sixth grade, Like sixth grade below that, it's like, uh, sports,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: everything kind of takes up the weekends you get to
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: enjoy it with them. But again and all those in
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: all those iterations like when when do I feel like
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I was just becoming friends and I just wanted to
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: hang out with my friends all the time.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: Well, sixteen, when you have a card, dude, then you
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: don't have the car rides with mom and dad anymore,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: no doubt, With no doubt, he's felt like such a
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: bonding thing.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, like you're losing the grip on your kids. And
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: then it's like we all remember when we started to
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: make friends, and friends was all about what we wanted
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: to do on weekends and everything else. You still love
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: mom and dad. You're still with them. That's in like
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: elementary school. It's like elementary school that I can envision
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: a little bit more on the horizon because that's what
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: you got till ten.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you got till about ten years old, when.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: You get as much time with them as you possibly
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: can to where you are their entire world. Yeah, and
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: up until ten, it's like you're in a pocket as
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: a parent to where you're in the heights of your career.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: You're trying to kick off the heights of your career.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: You're making big boy decisions that's driven around selfish ambitions
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: and stuff for mom and dad and the family, and
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: wanting to provide for the family, feeling the pressure and stress,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: so where you're also torn when you have I have
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: that perspective of ten years old in mind of how
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: much time like being intentional about being at home. That's
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: why it's like, dude, go off about being od.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: It helps me, dude, seeing how my dad operates now,
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: like it truly has helped me to really understand my dad,
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: because my dad is a worry warri and he does
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: want to make sure everything's okay, And he tries his
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: hardest not to micromanage, and he does a fabulous job,
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: but I can see that every inch of his being
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: is always wanting to help me in some capacity.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Or oh sure, mean you could do it this way?
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: And da da dah.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: And when I was a teenager, I'm like, man, why
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: is he all up in my business?
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Like, leave me alone?
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Dad?
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, shit, I got it.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: And now when I'm looking at Scarlett, he wanted to
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: do the exact same thing for Scarlet at all times,
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: I'm like, I get a dad, Like, I get it,
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: and I really appreciate it.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you just it naturally happens, but you just start
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: to witness how the whole mentality of like you're loosing
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: them every day, every week, every month. Yeah, it's like
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: picking up root now, dude, it's like feeling like a
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: human body, like a She's taller, longer, heavier, where it's
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: harder to hold her. And then you know, if I
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: thought I'm throwing little scott Zilla on my shoulder around
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: the house and doing the fly thing, Rue wants me
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: to do that with her. So I'll pick grew up
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: and I'll do it. And I'm just like, man, it's
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: so crazy feeling how big you are because you were
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: just my little girl. Like look at all these photos
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: that are all over our house. Oh yeah, like you
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: were just my littlest baby girl, Like your head was
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: literally smaller than my palm. Yeah, I would, dude. I'm
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: she pulls away from kisses all the time now, like Scarlet.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: Hates kisses on the cheek. Yeah, and that used to
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: be my thing, dude, But she didn't know any better
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: because she was such a baby.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and you just get right in her neck and
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: she'd giggle and laugh.
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: And now I try and go in for a kiss
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: and she's instantly.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Should be back, she'ld be back, dude, She'll be back, hopefully.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: But yeah, man, go off with you back on the Uh.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: Oh did I say that that was my Cracker cole One.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: I don't even know we were. I just think we
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: were just talking shop. It might have been a Kracker
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: cole one.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: That was my Cracker cole one.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Is that she has officially started the older class.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: Big girl, big girl class.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you Ollipop always, and thank you Ollipop
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: for this Cracker cole One. Right, and we got here
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: From Jerry Jackson looks like he's with this boy at
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: a preseason game. Cincinnati Bengals fan, Hey boys, listen to
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: the part of the pod today where you're talking about
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: ball season coming up, and he got me juiced. I
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: took my son Jamie to Bengals training camp so we
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: could get his eyes on our guy, Joey, b Jamar
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: and T Higgins. There you go, hoping for a better
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: season this year. PS love you, Deeck, but can't stand
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: your Steelers. Who day Jerry Jackson from Cincinnati, Shout out
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Jerry Jackson. Here's a wonderful picture him and his son
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: at training camp. That fires me up, man, because you're
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: so juice for football season. You're trying to tell the
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: little lad about everything going on. You see you see
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: Joey be out there. That's the guy. He's got a couple.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: This is a big year for Joey, but he's got
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: to stay healthy. He's got his weapons. They paid his
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: boys or building around him a little bit better. This
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: is the year because he's a Hall of Fame type guy,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: but he hasn't had a lot to show for it.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: And they were so close they could almost touch it.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and they'll be back. You see Joey b sitting
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: with his girlfriend over there. They saw a little surfacing
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: of Justin Herbert out in La Chargers with though who's
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: a Madison Breer?
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, shoking his hare.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: So now they're we're kind of recreating it like that's
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: not him for real, Like he did they do that
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: for the media for the click. Yeah, for the clicks.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: You gotta worry about that, dude.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: Speaking of dads and football, coach Oh, he's such a
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: dad dude with the amount of stories now that we've
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: had him on the bus.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Yeah, which, by the way, generational episode.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Generational episode.
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Please go watch that after you're done listening to this.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: But Coach O told some stories that he also told
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: on Kyle Matthews podcasts, I think the week prior that,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: I have also seen him tell on other podcasts. I've
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: also seen him tell on like you know, dinners and stuff.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: And then his son just got married and he's like
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: doing a speech at the rehearsal dinner or whatever, and
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: it was a video that went viral and it's that
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: same story where he's like.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: We're parked ou was on and the on the bus,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Joey be was on the bus, Joey b was on
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: the butt and hey, joe Burrow ain't on the bus.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: That bus ain't driving off. It ain't driving off.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: And just seeing his smile of knowing that's the punchline.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: Everybody's gonna laugh. Dude, I've seen my dad make that
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: same smile telling the story for the twentieth time and
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: knowing that he's about to get to that punchline and
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: they're all about to lose it.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: Coach Oh, dude, shut up, Coach O chef, go ahead.
- 1:24:51Speaker 8: I was just gonna say that video they just came
- 1:24:52Speaker 8: out of Coach O dog cussing the living shit. That's
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: the old mill, Like, hey, football, football to get back.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: I'm started.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Legs coming in though, Bro, the old people legs were
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: kind of looks like Clay straight starting to wrinkle from
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: got a slight little muffin flare on the sock.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: Just from years of just sitting in the sun in Louisiana.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: Hate just bacon in the Delta is bacon Bacon. I'm
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: starting to turn into a crawl fan. What's happening? You
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: eat enough into one pt sikos. We interrupt this episode
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: to bring you Lucy.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Uh.

- 1:25:39Speaker 3: that they have come alongside us to sponsor for the dads.

- 1:26:01Speaker 3: I got Lucy Lucy pouches rocking twelve millies. They also
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: make eights. They also make sixes. Lucy's got all different
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: types of flavors, all different types of milligrams. I usually
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: rock the mint. I have apple ice right here. I
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: have winter green as well. I have cinnamon. These are
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: all the twelve milligrams. They also have breakers. Breakers come
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: with a little capsule of extra juice. Sometimes other pouches
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: that will remain nameless.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: They lose their flavor.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: Lucy has come up with a way to keep the
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: flavor in the pouch with a little flavor capsule. It's
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: a nice little break it with your finger, or you
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: can break it with your teeth. You can do that
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: before you put them in. You can put them in
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: and then while you have them in, pop them in
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: the mouth, put it back in your lip, and they're
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: ready to go.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: And they taste delicious.
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Lucy is the only patch that delivers long lasting, on

- 1:27:44Speaker 2: Thank you, Will, boys.
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: This pod has been great and shaped me into the
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: data I've become. To my almost one year old boy, Miles,
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: who turns one on August twenty six, Happy early birthday.
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: I typically listen on my way to work in the mornings,
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: but when I don't finish, you guys come on during

- 1:28:12Speaker 3: points and gets a huge smile on his face. He
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: especially gets excited when he sees Shirm's mug. Keep it up, boys,
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: you're making a difference. Ps sherm. Keep the accents the

- 1:28:30Speaker 1: I am so sorry why I have a teammate loss
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: oh that I'm witnessing right now that we've witnessed the

- 1:28:41Speaker 9: Oh that's so to be fair, Shirm runs that clock.
- 1:28:44Speaker 9: I have my phone for an hour and twenty five minutes.

- 1:28:57Speaker 9: and held it up and they're like, yeah, I'll put
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: it on. And I stood there a little longer and
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: he kind of looked, and I was like, yeah, I
- 1:29:02Speaker 9: put it on the fridge. And I wasn't gonna say it.
- 1:29:04Speaker 9: You look comfy, you look good.
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: I do.

- 1:43:21Speaker 12: at the playground indoor play jungle gym, and I see
- 1:43:28Speaker 12: my niece walking to me, and I have my tea
- 1:43:31Speaker 12: kicked up. We're trying to schedule a birthday party there
- 1:43:35Speaker 12: and then next thing you know, I actually like kicked

- 1:44:31Speaker 1: face on accident.
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: We don't exactly know how the kick occurred, but it
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: seems like he had his feet up and then like

- 1:44:40Speaker 6: Is my guest, and she was there and he didn't
- 1:44:41Speaker 6: see her, just clocked her. Don't know, but all the

- 1:44:47Speaker 6: crying too, while his one year old niece is probably
- 1:44:50Speaker 6: on the groun because he kicked her in the face.

- 1:44:54Speaker 2: That's a tough loss.
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: Dude.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: Talk about feeling like you're in the fetal position if
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: you're crying too, you know, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: Like I was at a summer concert like outdoor movie thing.
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: This little three year old kid kicked my dog in
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: the face, full up, wind up and kicked him in
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: the face.
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: And I instantly look.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: At him like what the heck, And everybody that's around
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: looks at this little kid, and he starts going and
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: then my dog, because he just got kicked in the face,
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: is like barking. So everybody that's outside of what just
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: happened and didn't know, they just see my dog barking
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: at this kid that's crying, and they're all giving me looks,
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: and I'm like, he just kicked my dog in the face, like,
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: that's crazy.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: He kicked my dog, pissed me off.
- 1:45:47Speaker 6: I also sure I was not doing that to play
- 1:45:49Speaker 6: the next one. I was doing that motion because you
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: were so close to getting.
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: That phrase right. Oh, you just switched like the wording
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: was not telling you to rush. Was just I thought,
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: you're good.
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: And by the way, you you can't be cutting up
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: that meat.
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: Tossed the meat around, dude. Honestly, I was thinking about it.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: I was like, that snack was good.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: I want more of it. But I kind of just
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: laid low.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: I was waiting for him to start talking. Were you
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: over there eating during phone calls?
- 1:46:14Speaker 8: There's another stick to ask him verse second slice? And
- 1:46:18Speaker 8: he like gave me like a sliver slice, and I
- 1:46:20Speaker 8: was like, what.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: I'll cut up more during this next voice, man, you
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: want some more summer sauce?
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: And did you give me that?
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: I want?
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: I want to I want a big one. Just got
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: it all right? Run the next one, Yeah, just keep
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: cutting it. I clicked play.
- 1:46:37Speaker 13: Hello boys, This is Carlo is from my wife Carlo
- 1:46:44Speaker 13: Love the podcast.
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: I years old.

- 1:47:12Speaker 14: from the episode one and right now I'm on episode five.
- 1:47:18Speaker 14: Love the Podcast. The podcast was about Will go in
- 1:47:22Speaker 14: crazy in the car five hours drive with the little
- 1:47:28Speaker 14: Rusee screaming, Scory screaming. I was bursting out of love
- 1:47:33Speaker 14: failure for I feel you man.
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: I was bursting out with lave Herman Congress show.
- 1:47:42Speaker 14: Right now you have like your first year birthday and
- 1:47:44Speaker 14: everything and all of that for your little one, Scarlett.
- 1:47:48Speaker 14: Love the Show. Sorry to say that late this would
- 1:47:52Speaker 14: be like a dead act as well. Boys learn how
- 1:47:57Speaker 14: to cook, learn how to cook. On the fifth episode,
- 1:48:02Speaker 14: one Color, the wife got the rawn milk and he
- 1:48:07Speaker 14: stood up as a as a real man who went
- 1:48:11Speaker 14: to cous can change the milk and you can buy
- 1:48:14Speaker 14: yourself sometimes boys learn how to cook.
- 1:48:19Speaker 13: This is the heck you can buy yourself sometime. If
- 1:48:22Speaker 13: you have a.
- 1:48:23Speaker 14: Yard and you have a grill, go outside, make some steaks,
- 1:48:27Speaker 14: make some chicken for your wife or your kids, for
- 1:48:29Speaker 14: your family.
- 1:48:31Speaker 13: Crack a cold beer, enjoy cooking and everything because da. Also,
- 1:48:36Speaker 13: we deal like sometime to be on your phone, to
- 1:48:38Speaker 13: give a call to your friend. You have a little
- 1:48:42Speaker 13: bit of a piece of mind. Doesn't have to be fancy, boys,
- 1:48:46Speaker 13: learn how to cook. Thank you so much, boys, thank
- 1:48:49Speaker 13: you so much. Love the podcast is helping me mentally,
- 1:48:52Speaker 13: like crazy, I don't feel alone.
- 1:48:54Speaker 14: I'm twenty eight with an almost two years old daughter.
- 1:48:58Speaker 14: Beautiful podcast, your bite.
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: I love Carlos, the ascension of Carlos. Bro Carlos, Carlos
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: and that voice coming in right after the dog kicking.
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: Guys, I'm being dead serious.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: If I am on my deathbed and y'all have to
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: deliver the news that like it is terminal, please let
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: Carlos be the one to do it.
- 1:49:22Speaker 2: Please send Carlos in there. That was beautiful.
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: That is the dad hack. He doesn't have to be fancy.
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: That was our favorite part.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: He doesn't have to be found. And they make me
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: burst it out with a laugh. Little Scotty, Is she
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: crying or rue she crying? This podcast is Cazilla Little
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: episode five. But I love it.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: Boys, It's already so so good. Dude, I burst it out.
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: We doesn't have to be it doesn't fancy, but geez,
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: learned to cook voice.
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: That is the hawk. That is the way you talk
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: about the peace of mind doesn't have to be a dude.
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: The best part is that he's on episode Vibe right now.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: He's not gonna hear this for like another like five
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: six months, and then.
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: He's gonna be like, oh, gee, boys, that is me
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: on the podcast I made it. Oh, Carlos, Carlos, I
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: need you calling in off three weeks after my man.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: Please call in every week. Do we want to jump
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: into emails or one more voicemail?
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: I kind of want to hear one more voice.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: Okay, maybe we should eat sausage to keep eating me.
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: I was about to say, maybe we just need to
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: eat summer sausage. Every voicemail thing, there's another stick of it.
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: Here's the question that I think is fair if we
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: do another voicemail, are we kind of setting that one
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: to for failure knowing what type of high wrong?
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: The fourth one is a discussion point. Someone's asking for advice.
- 1:51:03Speaker 6: Oh, here's what I word it, Carlos, is he's my
- 1:51:06Speaker 6: white whale on this episode. Yeah, but this fourth voicemail,
- 1:51:09Speaker 6: I wouldn't tell you there was four if it wasn't
- 1:51:10Speaker 6: a good one.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: Okay, also one, I just want to warn you.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: The meat stick is a greasy a greasy get meat
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: stick doesn't have to be fun see, doesn't have to
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: be fund But.
- 1:51:28Speaker 7: Hey, it's Justin from New Jersey calling in.
- 1:51:33Speaker 15: Got a question for you guys, not necessarily fully a
- 1:51:37Speaker 15: dad question, but it rides the coat tails of being
- 1:51:40Speaker 15: a father.
- 1:51:41Speaker 5: I'm twenty seven.
- 1:51:43Speaker 15: I have a twenty five year old girlfriend who loves
- 1:51:46Speaker 15: talking about pumping out some kids, looking into some bringing sizes,
- 1:51:53Speaker 15: and uh, the conversations get further and further.
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: So my question to you guys would be when do
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: you know? Oh I get it, having a.
- 1:52:06Speaker 15: Kid can be beautifully unplanned, But when do you know
- 1:52:11Speaker 15: when you're really ready to just even have a kid
- 1:52:14Speaker 15: in the first place?
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: I mean, who really is?
- 1:52:17Speaker 7: And then, at the same time, with it being twenty
- 1:52:20Speaker 7: twenty six and times have changed, is it so frowned
- 1:52:24Speaker 7: upon to maybe have a kid before a marriage or
- 1:52:29Speaker 7: would you be handicapping yourself twenty seven?
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: Hey about it? Hit that year, those years.
- 1:52:35Speaker 7: The thirties where like you know, family members start talking
- 1:52:40Speaker 7: about kids.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: So, just a New Jersey guy, you ask if for
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: some help, do I run?
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: Do I hump it down, Do I stop pumping kids?
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: Pump to me?
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: Boys? Love you? Well?
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: It was a great voicemail. Yeah, great voicemail. Just a
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: new judge the guy do I run? Hey? Just have
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: a kid? Does have to be fancy, don't don't have
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: to be married, just have a kid?
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: That easy, DoD hoc seems like he's asking a few
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: different things.
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: Yeah he is.
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: How do you know when you want to have a kid?
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: When is the right time? In twenty twenty six? Can
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: you have a kid before you're married?
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: Did I hit all of them? I feel like that's
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: the big thing you did. That was a good reminiscent
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: of it. Yeah. I don't know how locked in he
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: is with his girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I assume you.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: Gotta be locked in if you're talking kids. Oh yeah,
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: if you know you're getting married, like if you know
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: that time's coming and you just feel like the wedding
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: planning will be longer than the nine ten months and
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: you guys are gonna have a kid if that's the
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: woman you're married. I don't think if you want to
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: have kids out of the gate, then dude, just have kids.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: You're never we're gonna fully feel like you're absolutely ready.
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you just never are.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: Yeah. It doesn't matter how much you conquer stuff in career,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: money you have brought in, you're always going to overthink
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: it if you're kind of like, you know, paralysis by analysis,
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: if you're just thinking about all the time, Man, is
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: now the time I gotta regret this? Am I gonna?
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: Dude?
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: You're never gonna You're never gonna fully know and fully
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: be ready. If you know you want kids and you
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: know you want kids with this woman, and you know
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: you're going to marry this woman and you're asking about
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: can we have a kid before we get married? Number One,
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: we're not the we're not the judge, jury, an executioner
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: on that. Like in my brain, if you know you're
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: spending forever with this one and you guys both want
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: kids and it seems like marriage and the kid thing
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: could be happening around the same time, I don't see
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: an issue. Like I brought it up with Charo, but
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: she didn't want to be in a situation where it's
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: like we get married because we got married before we
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: did the wedding at a what is it called not
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: a quarter We got legally married before we actually had
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: our wedding. Yes, but charl didn't want to have a bump,
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: she didn't want to have any of that with her dress,
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: or she didn't want to be going through postpartum or
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: anything else like while she's getting married or have like
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: you know, just have the little one around like while
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: we're getting married. Yeah, you wanted to because we brought
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: it up and we talked about it because we wanted
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: to try to have kids kind of right away. I
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: mean we got rue when we were she was a
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: honeymoon baby. Yeah, I know, I said a lot right there.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: All I know is this, make sure this is the
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: woman you want forever. And if it is the answer
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: to have a kid is fully up to you or
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: do you want to have the kid before the wedding?
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: That seems like a conversation with wifey after. Just know,
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: I hope he's not asking is a front upon and
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: to have a kid before you get married and he
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: doesn't know if he wants to get married, but he
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: do not go down that road.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, if that's the whole reason for
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: like you know, that's a completely different book, a completely
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: different book of which I do not have the answers
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: to other than you know, don't just get married because
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: you're having a kid. You know, take your time process
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: what is going to be best for this kid. I've
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: had some friends that have, you know, from a one
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: night stand, had a child, didn't marry the baby mama,
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: but it worked out great because they both didn't want
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: to get married, but they're both raising the child, both
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: in the child's life and very active parents.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: And then people that have gotten married, like, there's so many.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: Ways to cut that cake. But don't feel like you
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: have to force your hand and getting married.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: I love what you said of make sure that she
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: is the woman that you want to you know, raise
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: your children with like and be with and be with
- 1:56:52Speaker 3: because y'all are going to be teammates for the rest
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: of your life.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: I grew up in.
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: The Bible Belt, and do you have to you where
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: it's frowned upon to even live in a house with
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: your significant other before you're married, Not by everyone, but
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: like it's round you feel that per I mean, my
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: mom cried when I said we were having our wedding
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: outdoors because she wanted it to be in the Catholic
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: Oh oh.
- 1:57:15Speaker 3: Well with the Catholic church especially, dude. Yeah, feel you
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: on that. So it's like, yeah, it's twenty twenty six.
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: You're not going to catch any judgment here.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: I mean, this is probably the safest podcast to call
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: into and we're like, yeah, hell ya, dudeah, like have
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: a kid. Yeah, if you're if you're wanting to know,
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: like Willie C's thoughts, my thoughts are, just if you
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: know this is the woman you're gonna be with forever
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: and partner and be a partner with forever with children,
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: then that's up to you guys.
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: So you guys want to have them early, going to
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: have them soon?
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: Yeah, You're never gonna know when you're absolutely ready to
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: have kids. You're just not if you know you want
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: to be a dad, yeah, and you know she's going
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: to be an incredible mother and you guys are partners
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: for life. It's like, dude, get the pumping, get the pumping, dude.
- 1:58:02Speaker 3: Well, and to answer Will's question, or I'll say this
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: because Will put it very eloquently to me when I
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: asked him the same question of Jill and I had
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: been married at that point for a year, and I
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: went and had coffee with Will a couple of times.
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: He brought Rue along, like for two or three of those,
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: and I'm sitting there kind of picking his brain about
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: it because you.
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: Were on my ass a little bit too with Posts
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: and Rue on the story because Jill would see him
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: get the baby fever and he's like, buddy, you're not
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: doing me any favors right now.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: Yeah, because Rue's adorable.
- 1:58:35Speaker 3: It doesn't help that, like she's super cute and Jill's
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: imagining her own little cute sweetness.
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're up in the air on if you
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: were ready.
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: Big time dude, scared shitless, scared shitless.
- 1:58:48Speaker 10: And.
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know if anybody's ever ready.
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: I don't know if there's any you can certainly prep
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: like I'm sure you could read and watch videos all
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: about pair shoots before you go skydiving, but it doesn't
- 1:59:02Speaker 3: change the fact that, like, you still got to jump
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: out of the plane in order to go skydiving. So
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: I don't think anybody is truly ready for that moment
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: no matter the amount of preparation, once you're in it,
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: it's way different. And that's not a knock on prepping
- 1:59:20Speaker 3: because I certainly with some of the books that you
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: had given to me and doing this podcast before Scarlett
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: was even born. The preparation did help. But it's not
- 1:59:32Speaker 3: like there's some tests that you have to pass. Does
- 1:59:36Speaker 3: that make sense? I feel like I answer that in
- 1:59:38Speaker 3: a bad way.
- 1:59:39Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: I mean, it's such a load of question and yeah,
- 1:59:41Speaker 1: coming off like we're trying to give a whole lot
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: of advice and an expert opinion to me. It's like, bro,
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: if you know this is the woman you want to
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: be with, and that box is checked, you know she's
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: going to be an incredible mother. That box is checked.
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: And you know that you want to be a dad,
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: and you're excited about being a dad one day and
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: you're just kind of questioning it if you're ready or not,
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: but you check the box wanting to be a dad
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: and the greatest scheme of things, nobody's ever ready. But
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: when the little one comes, you're gonna know exactly what
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: to do because this is something that's been in your
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: vision and in your in your life and in your future.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: When that little one comes, you're gonna know. You're just
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: gonna know, like you'll know I put I'm put here
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: to raise this child, and you'll be with your with
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: your life, partner, man.
- 2:00:23Speaker 3: With your life partner, you'll be dead meat as soon
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: as you meet your your little one. I love what
- 2:00:30Speaker 3: Josh Allen said on his interview about his daughter. Uh,
- 2:00:35Speaker 3: just talking about how instantly it softened his heart so
- 2:00:39Speaker 3: much in that Yeah, he just feels like a different
- 2:00:41Speaker 3: person now.
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like all all that.
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: Stuff, like all the good that comes with it, and
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: just take everything on the chin.
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: Yeah. And if you don't have those boxes, one of
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: them's not checked, Like you don't know that this is
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: gonna be the lifer forever and that box isn't checked.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: Take a pause. If you know that it is a lifer,
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: but you don't want to be a dad right now
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: and you just you're feeling a lot of external pressure,
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: fully understanding like where you're coming from. But if you
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: don't check the box of like wanting to be a
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: dad and you being excited about being a dad, and
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: that box is not checked, then take a pause and
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: think about it, think about it a little bit longer. Yes,
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: But if those are checked and you're just having like, man,
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: am I ready?
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: Am I this?
- 2:01:20Speaker 1: I am excited about being dad? I got my girl,
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: I know we want to do life together.
- 2:01:24Speaker 3: Buddy, get the pumping will and I are on a
- 2:01:28Speaker 3: podcast about renting cars. You're currently asking if you should
- 2:01:31Speaker 3: rent a car. We're saying yes, but we're also saying,
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: also get the insurance with it.
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go, There we go. Emails, dude emails.
- 2:01:42Speaker 1: This comes in you can ride in at six oh one.
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: The dad's at gmail dot com. This comes in from
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: rock messic. They're just kids, man is the subject line.
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: Brock says, what a fella's North Carolina dad of two
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: girls here, oldest six and the youngest will be two
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: in October. I look forward to the new episode every
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: Wednesday as it challenges me to be a better dad
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: and husband.
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: Also fills my lifelong travel It also fills my long
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: travel day with plenty of laughs. A couple weekends ago,
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: we took the girls to see Mimi, my mom, to
- 2:02:19Speaker 3: spend the weekend with her, since she lives about two
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: hours away and doesn't get to see them much before
- 2:02:24Speaker 3: school starts back up. That Saturday, we were going to
- 2:02:27Speaker 3: grill out with her, my stepdad, and my grandparents. While
- 2:02:31Speaker 3: we were eating, a storm came up, and when it stopped,
- 2:02:34Speaker 3: as per usual, these feral kids wanted to go out
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: and play in the puddles.
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: And mud man.
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: So the wife and my mom took them out and
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: let them do their thing, while I stayed back and
- 2:02:43Speaker 3: talked with my stepdad about how I absolutely gave him
- 2:02:47Speaker 3: the smoke on the course earlier that day. Ten minutes later,
- 2:02:51Speaker 3: the wife comes in and says, you need to come
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: out here and look at your kid. I go outside
- 2:02:58Speaker 3: to find my youngest covered in mud. Right as I
- 2:03:01Speaker 3: went to take a breath to tell them it's time
- 2:03:03Speaker 3: to get cleaned up, my grandfather walks by and says,
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: they sure are having fun, aren't they.
- 2:03:08Speaker 5: Son.
- 2:03:09Speaker 3: I waited just a second and responded, yes, sir, they
- 2:03:12Speaker 3: sure are. He went on to tell me how I
- 2:03:14Speaker 3: should enjoy these memories while I can while I can,
- 2:03:18Speaker 3: because memories are all that will be in the blink
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: of an eye at the moment I realize.
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: At that moment, I realized they are just kids.
- 2:03:26Speaker 3: Man, I was about to stop them from having fun
- 2:03:29Speaker 3: and enjoying being just kids all because I did not
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: want to deal with any more cleanup than I was
- 2:03:36Speaker 3: already going to have to do.
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: I say this to say, they're just kids.
- 2:03:41Speaker 3: Let them enjoy it while they can, and soak up
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: the memories while you can. Do the extra bubbles at
- 2:03:48Speaker 3: bat time and play with all the toys. Let them
- 2:03:51Speaker 3: crack the eggs for Saturday morning breakfast, make the slime,
- 2:03:55Speaker 3: let them paint with their fingers, let them hate you
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: with the water balloons, go along with the that you
- 2:04:00Speaker 3: already know will cause a mess, and let them enjoy
- 2:04:04Speaker 3: making mud pies when the summer storms come. Don't deprive
- 2:04:08Speaker 3: them of the childhood memories of being just a kid,
- 2:04:11Speaker 3: and don't deprive yourself with the memories that you will
- 2:04:14Speaker 3: one day look back on. Take the extra cleanup time,
- 2:04:17Speaker 3: because that is the only real consequence of a lot
- 2:04:21Speaker 3: of these memories. You guys, are an encouragement. Keep doing
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: you brock messic. Here is Brock and his two girls.
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: And look at that one girl in the mud.
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: Puff in the mud. Dude, that is awesome. That that
- 2:04:35Speaker 1: right there. That's like the lesson. That's the lesson of
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: the week.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's better than my lesson of the week. Truly,
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: it was a really good lesson. And I hope too
- 2:04:44Speaker 3: with Brock. It's like just to add on a bro
- 2:04:46Speaker 3: pull out the phone and hit record man. The catch
- 2:04:50Speaker 3: myself so much as looking at the old photos of
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: who I bring it up all the time. But I'm
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: so glad I have them because you know my brain,
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: I'm forgetful. I got some severe dad brain.
- 2:04:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and uh, I'm glad I have them just because
- 2:05:03Speaker 1: it pulls me back into said memory. Dude sometimes ruse
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: memories better than mine, and I'll get to just pull
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: out my phone and figure out what she's talking about
- 2:05:11Speaker 1: because she'll say like, oh, you remember the video, and
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: I'll get to go back to a video. But man,
- 2:05:15Speaker 1: record it all, take photos and do everything that man
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: just said. I'm really glad that my wife is the phone.
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: That's like, aren't the guys like since I do busting
- 2:05:29Speaker 1: and everything else, Like, I'm just I have my phone
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: out a lot to record and do a lot of things.
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: I know that's usually like a mom thing and like
- 2:05:39Speaker 1: oh this is a nice little dad hack or just
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: a reminder. But I always find my wife included. But
- 2:05:46Speaker 1: moms are always complaining about dads not taking photos of
- 2:05:49Speaker 1: them with like with their kids, like just getting out
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: your phone and taking more photos. Listen, I'm guilty of
- 2:05:53Speaker 1: that too. Like I can take videos and photos of
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: everything else, but I'll forget to pull out the phone
- 2:05:57Speaker 1: and get some cool shots of my wife with the kids,
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: because my wife will always show me photos she gets.
- 2:06:01Speaker 3: Of me and the kids. Yep, I need to do
- 2:06:04Speaker 3: a better job of that. That is really good, dad hack.
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good just reminder for dads.
- 2:06:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so i'd even hack.
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: We all know, we all hear the complaints when it
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: comes up when you're around friends, like, yeah, will he
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: never takes photos of me and the kids, Jill.
- 2:06:18Speaker 2: Jill hasn't even brought it up to me.
- 2:06:20Speaker 3: But I'm just thinking about all the pictures that Jill
- 2:06:23Speaker 3: is taken with and.
- 2:06:23Speaker 1: People compliment them, like the photos, Oh, shure them, those
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: pictures are so cool, Jill. Are you taking those?
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: I wish I wish su them would take pictures of
- 2:06:30Speaker 1: me doing that.
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: I mean truly, Yeah, I really need to step my
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: game up. We all do.
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: My friend email here from Scott Brown, and we'll get
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: out of here and we'll make sure we're taking our
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: trash hot. Hey, fellas, this is Scott from Memphis writing
- 2:06:43Speaker 1: this email. Currently in the trenches, rocking our two day
- 2:06:45Speaker 1: old baby in the middle of the night while mom
- 2:06:47Speaker 1: gets some rest. I've been listening to the podcast since
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: day one, and I thought you guys might appreciate this.
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: I'm a fellow girl dad. I had three girls already,
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: and back in November we found out my wife was pregnant.
- 2:06:58Speaker 1: We waited until birth to find out the gender. Well,
- 2:07:01Speaker 1: Monday night, on August third, my wife gave birth to
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: our little bundle of joy. And you guys aren't gonna
- 2:07:06Speaker 1: believe it, girl number four. Seriously, how do you even
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: make boys? I don't get it. Is there a trick,
- 2:07:15Speaker 1: a certain position, a secret handshake. I feel like there's
- 2:07:18Speaker 1: something nobody ever told me. I don't know why I'm
- 2:07:22Speaker 1: asking you, guys, because clearly neither of you know. When
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: they held her up for the first time, I honestly
- 2:07:28Speaker 1: couldn't do anything but laugh. I was just sitting there thinking,
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: another girl. You got to be kidding me. People are
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: still asking me, don't you want to try for a boy?
- 2:07:37Speaker 2: I did four times.
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: I guess I gotta get the pads on the third
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: one because she's the little Minis of the family and
- 2:07:45Speaker 1: built for the a gap. But all jokes aside, new
- 2:07:47Speaker 1: baby girl is absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier
- 2:07:50Speaker 1: being a girl dad has honestly been one of the
- 2:07:52Speaker 1: greatest blessings of my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
- 2:07:56Speaker 1: Any dad who doesn't have a daughter is really missing out.
- 2:07:59Speaker 1: And I know you guys know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: I just want to let you know that you're not
- 2:08:03Speaker 1: the only guys out there who apparently don't have to
- 2:08:06Speaker 1: don't know how to make boys, and I'm right there
- 2:08:07Speaker 1: with you. PS My wife chose the name Rooney may Oh.
- 2:08:11Speaker 1: I like that name, and we will call her Rue
- 2:08:15Speaker 1: for sure. She's never listened to a second of the podcast,
- 2:08:18Speaker 1: so I thought this was pretty ironic. Love the podcast. Boys,
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: keep doing what you're doing, and thanks for everything. Shout
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: out Scott and I don't know, buddy, we're trying. I
- 2:08:27Speaker 1: love to get I love to get a little I
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: love to get a little lad in the family.
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: But I do think about it.
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: I feel like it's I would just look at the
- 2:08:35Speaker 1: boy and see the boy so much differently that I
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: do my girls. Not that it's like less or more superior, inferior.
- 2:08:41Speaker 2: But it's just a completely different saying, different world.
- 2:08:44Speaker 1: It's just like having little girls and they know that
- 2:08:46Speaker 1: they just have your fucking heart no matter what is
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: the best thing, and there's just no doubt in your mind.
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: There's no like questioning them the way I feel like
- 2:08:56Speaker 1: I would my son or just no, I just know boys. Yeah,
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: I know myself. I know guys.
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you know how you.
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: Want to raise them. You're just going to naturally be
- 2:09:05Speaker 1: a little You're gonna just naturally be different with the boys.
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: I feel like from my perspective being being one of
- 2:09:12Speaker 1: three boys, having a lot of masculine energy around the house,
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: being around sports and competition all the time. Like having
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: the two girls. Man, fuck, it's awesome.
- 2:09:23Speaker 3: Everything that I'm about to say is not held in
- 2:09:27Speaker 3: absolute truth, but I will say this. I've heard that
- 2:09:31Speaker 3: if you drink lollipop, if you pop in.
- 2:09:35Speaker 2: A little lucy maybe a little breaker, you.
- 2:09:38Speaker 3: Go to bwtv dot com, go dabble around there. These
- 2:09:43Speaker 3: are things that will help with the x Y Crimson.
- 2:09:49Speaker 2: I've heard rumor.
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: We are at a place now platform wise where we
- 2:09:56Speaker 1: can start to do trials. Oh so any ST six
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: are out there?
- 2:10:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:10:04Speaker 1: Or PT six are going for kiddo number two? Yeah,
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: we love to open up the study on if you
- 2:10:11Speaker 1: slug an olipop before, wear a Papa Team's six shirt
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: during with a pouch of Lucy in your lip. We
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: would just love to know what the data would say.
- 2:10:28Speaker 2: There's some sick go out there that's gonna do it. Yes, yes,
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: guy's gonna do Whalon has a boy, of course he does.
- 2:10:40Speaker 1: Of course, Whitlan has a boy. He probably already done it.
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: Man, I've been doing that ship man, you got two boys.
- 2:10:49Speaker 1: We just we'd love to see the data.
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: I might have to try that. Hey, good seed, good sold.
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: Take off the trash, tick out the trash.
- 2:10:59Speaker 1: We will see you next
