- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, come back to the pod, you guys.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a beautiful Monday morning here in Brooklyn, New York City when we're recording this when we're recording this it is Monday
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Because we're trying to get our lives together, we're trying to record on time, have worked on time, have the podcast come out on time.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: So we're doing our best.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're still in that January beginning of the year mentality, which is why we actually meant to talk about this topic last week, but then we ended up veering off completely and having a whole other episode.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Which was happening and we just kind of took over.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: we had to hop on it, you know, how it is, but we're finally making the time to talk about decluttering our lives.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Which is the perfect episode for it has to be in January.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: We couldn't do this in February because I feel like decluttering is something that most people kind of think about at the top of the year.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I need to or at least should.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like get my life in order, like organize my space, get rid of the random shit that's under the bed, get rid of the random stuff that's in that drawer that I just never look at, but anytime I need something from that drawer, like I'm gonna reach in, and then I'm just gonna close him like, ah, not today.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think everybody got one of those drawers down home.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: So do you want to tell us what cluttering means?
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Fangirling up.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Fangirling up.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: Who may not know what that means.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: The cluttering means intentionally removing what no longer adds value.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you, I value value.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: Value.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so there's more space mentally, emotionally, and physically for the things that actually matter.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that's huge.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think it kind of this conversation ties back to if you listen to our analog episode.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: Was that on?
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Was that audio or picture?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: That was audio.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: We were, you know, talking about all the different ways in which we are trying to remove digital things out of our lives that are maybe even causing some some feeling of clutterness.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: because we all know what clutter feels like.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Physical clutter is easy to identify.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, digital clutter, especially now is that we're just so digital in so many ways.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why this kind of ties into the analog perspective of like trying to remember that some things are actually better that are things that are tangible things that you can hold in your hand, things that you can entertain yourself that are in real life and not through a screen.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but what thing that I feel like I never really thought about before or it wasn't until so I wrote this.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_02]: We both wrote our list.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked about this yet.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: We both wrote our declutter list in our notebooks.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's still going strong.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Yoni's notebook is still going strong here.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: He ran out of pages.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I run out of pages today is actually the first day that I'm going to be starting my second, my second refill for my first refill.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I still got a long way to go.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: But you definitely inspired me to write more.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, you know what, let me write my declutter episode notes on my notebook.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: Because for some reason, for a long time, I thought like, for the podcast, that needs to be like on the fly.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I can't have my notebook or notes or something.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: If actually it's the opposite.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you should.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: So the episode is better.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: The episode is better, but then sometimes we just happen to be able to make a lot of episodes are not like this.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're very much on the, like, really on the fly.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: One thing that I didn't really, when I was writing this down, like the first things that come to mind when you're thinking about decluttering are obviously the physical decluttering, like decluttering your apartment, decluttering your space, the nooks and crannies, the random drawers, which we'll get into.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: But that's the first thing that I was actually- Most people think about.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then the next thing was digital declutter of random things, especially for us, like, we work from our computers and our, it's a combination, like, our personal computers and our work computers.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: So we have a bunch of random things mixed in together.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: But then when I was running the list, I also realized that mental clutter is huge.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: If anything, that should be the first one.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, mental clutter.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like most people don't think about, but it's actually one of the biggest I would say, and hardest things to declutter, you know, because it's like physical declutter, you can take care of that.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: But your mental feel very much, and everyone has that.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone has some things they need to gear rid of, mentally.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: But it's a little abstract.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can really identify, you really have to tune in with yourself and be like, what am I feeling?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's hard to overlook the mental.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: exactly.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: And one thing, I think it kind of, it was funny because the other day I did a meditation that kind of inspired today's episode or at least this part of that episode for me as that meditation was called letting yourself monotask.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I actually talked about this in my video recently and it's something that I never even thought about before, monotasking or monotasking,
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: One at a time, really.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like for me 20, 25 was the year where I was just multitasking all the time.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes it wasn't even for like productivity.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was just, I didn't know how to do one singular thing at once, whether it's like, I'm only cooking and I'm not doing anything else.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: Or I'm only putting the dishes away and I'm not doing anything else.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're constantly trying to maximize our time and we almost are scared, or not scared, but it becomes uncomfortable to just do one thing.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I want to get more into that later in the episode because it's so interesting.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: There is a reason why we try to, like you just said, maximize.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm watching the dishes, I have to watch something else because...
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's a perfect time to watch something because when I'm done doing the dishes, I don't have time to watch something.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: But the crazy thing is like, sometimes we don't realize that it's actually, and this is like self-imposed clutter that you might not even categorize this clutter, but once you remove it, you realize how much more like mentally clear you feel.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I mentioned this was meditation that I did through Headspace, and I couldn't be more excited to mention that today's episode is sponsored by Headspace.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Which is crazy.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you've never heard of said space, it is a meditation app that makes meditation super accessible for so many types of I would say not necessarily concerns, but Intensions whether you want to achieve clarity whether you want to reduce your stress Whether you want to sleep better work better It's truly an amazing meditation app that I recommend to everybody.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: I really recommend it to my friends the other day
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: And what it comes to this conversation, I really feel like we could all benefit even from the science little shows that five minutes of headspace reduces stress.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody has five minutes.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you have to have five minutes.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the big thing for me, I would say when it comes to meditation is I realized it doesn't always necessarily have to be when you feel the need for it, I think it would be great if we could get in the habit of, you know, meditating the same way that we, you know,
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: Stillness is not something that we participate in very often.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like in general, when do you just sit still for five minutes straight without being on your phone without reading without doing something?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: Except when you're sleeping, which you're not conscious.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, five, I mean, what would you do in five minutes without?
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like we never think of that, but stillness is so important.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: Tuning inside with your body, with how you're feeling, letting thoughts come into your brain and figuring out like, when I'm still and when I'm quiet and when my mind is like zero, what are the thoughts that keep coming back into my mind?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then identifying what those are and maybe you're realizing how much maybe subconscious clutter comes in your mind when you're like, wow, I have so many tabs open that I can't
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: I can't shut off and that was a meditation that I did where the meditation on headspace called Let Yourself Monotask, it basically took me through an exercise of visualizing what tabs do I have open in my brain right now?
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: and by one by one identifying each one and literally closing the tab, because there's some tabs that are like the same Yonis computer always has hella tabs, at least 50.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like sometimes you have tabs that are open but are in the background.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: So there's things that are always running in the background, they're always kind of holding onto clutter, but you're not using them.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: They're not active and they're not a priority.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: So those you can already close off.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: and visualizing that mentally.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: I literally imagine my brain with all the tabs open and closing each one felt so good.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then I was left with maybe like three main tabs, and it made me feel like, okay, these are my main three, and also which one am I gonna go with first?
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: And it helped so much truly declutter my brain in that moment of, and it was a moment of like, overwhelmed and kind of feeling like, I don't even know
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: today.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, the other time what's what's your favorite time to use that space?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Would you say?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think Headspace, for me, comes in handy the most when I need to relax before bedtime.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: So for one, it helps me usually, and this is a really bad habit, but grab my phone, doing my last few scrolls before bed, which is so bad, it's not a good thing to do, but Ali introduced me to Headspace, and it really helped me a lot with actually following
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, relax my mind and I was actually doing the same exercises with closing the tabs.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: And before I even got to closing all the apps, like I fell asleep in your brain, right?
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I know I don't remember getting to the last tab and finishing the task.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe that's kind of like the thing to most most people.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like if you could
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: using headspace by just doing a task like that.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there's many.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's so many meditations for different.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many meditations.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: There's sometimes courses.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to be more intentional with your meditation practice to either achieve balance or to work on a specific area in your life.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and the sleep cast and specifically the wine down meditations we love to do before bed are such a game changer because they really help you kind of shut down your mind and your body to go to sleep.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes we fall asleep before the meditation is even over.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: It helps me so much and what happens the next morning.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we talk about like yo that meditation was so good.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even remember
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like we don't remember the meditation ending which means we fell asleep before it was over So like we fell asleep and then the meditation was still talking about relax and all that stuff It helps me so much and that my person who has like a really hard time falling asleep I just don't know what to think about.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just not okay.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Should I like what what is the thing that people do count sheep?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, what do you think about us?
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that truly truly helps me enough all asleep like
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: in minutes.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to set the foundation for a strong year ahead, you can get 60 days of free headspace by entering our code what's the juice at headspace.com slash code that is CODE.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: So by visiting headspace.com slash CODE and typing in what's the juice you will get 60 days completely for free and we could not recommend it more.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: You get 60 days free.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's two months of using headspace.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: I told Jess little us five minutes a day can make a huge difference And you'll see how much you're gonna reach for it.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: How much is gonna help you and I think you know us going analog Trying to declutter our life all these things.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: It will be a great tool to have at any time Because you can also meditate on the go.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's a beautiful thing.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's like it's always in your phone You can meditate when you're home
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: when you're on the go, when you're traveling, when you're getting ready for a flight, if you have flight anxiety, it's crazy how much work has gone into this app.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I've been a member since 2016, so that should tell you a lot.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: But okay, when it comes to mental declutter, we talked about like multitasking and over stimulation.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: It was in 2025.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I truly don't know what happened, but I got into this, I got to this point where I was watching, and I am like kind of a shing tune with this.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I was constantly under over stimulation.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: From the moment you woke up, I remember, I don't know when I started to notice it, but I was an iPad baby.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like I was an iPad kid.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would be walking around the house from the kitchen to the bedroom with the iPad playing some random show that I'm not even truly watching, but it was just for background noise.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: You remember that they asked you, I was like, how can you, you always have some, because let's say we call it background, right?
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: You don't really pay attention, whatever you still see motion on the screen.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: You still hear action, whatever's happening.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: Dialogue or something, whatever.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, your brain is processing that information.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: It can be good for your brain.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have a moment of just like stillness.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know why.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: This could be, this could have been me like maybe avoiding something because when you're when you're filling up all your sense sessions from visual to audio that like let's say maybe I was doing a task so I would be looking at the dishes or cooking or something but the audio is constantly on.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't leave space for any sort of thoughts, any sort of inner dialogue to come through.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I really don't know what it was, but it got really bad, and it went through phases, but there was a point when I truly, it's insane to even think about like, I would wake up and grab the iPad to turn on whatever show I'm like binging at the time and brush my teeth, wash my face, and I bring the iPad to the kitchen, start making breakfast, then after that,
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: The screen time on the iPad was just all day.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: It was crazy, and I'm glad you're not doing that anymore.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know when I just, I just once stopped.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: But it wasn't very, it was like a conscious decision.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: To stop, right?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like I wasn't like, I need to stop, and then I did.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think we went on a trip, and then we came back, and I just, didn't pick it back up.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is great.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what trip that was, but that was now.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like a few times I did mention it to you, but when you're just in a certain phase, I guess it's just like something you almost can't, you can't get yourself out of it.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have that.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see it as a super problematic thing, but it was basically, if you want to compare to anything else, it was as if any time I was doing a task, whether I'm like cooking in the kitchen or something, imagine I'm cooking and there's just clutter everywhere, but it was all in my mind.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I was self-imposing this clutter.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: to hide away from my inner thoughts or like, I don't know.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what I, for some reason it makes me feel like if I reflect back, I would be uncomfortable to not have something on.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's it.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think you would.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have that, but I don't think you have that.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was so used to always having something, like even right now,
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Cooking is a very special thing.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Alia, there's this thing when Alia is cooking, and she's watching something, she's going to make the greatest meal ever.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's the thing.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: I do reach a specific flow state, but it would be bad when I'm like, on my computer, let's say I'm browsing, shopping online or something.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm at the same time on my phone, looking at,
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: Instagram.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then behind all those two screens, I have the iPad, which is, uh, like, you know, playing some sort of TV show.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then I start watching like reals on my phone.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's insane.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: I remember if you sometimes look at over like, you know, you have, I would be listening to three things at the same time.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: But somehow I was like, I would feel like I'm like plugged in in a way that there's something that's like satisfying to you doing that.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: Something like there's something about the chaos and the oversimulation that would almost like feel like I'm itching a scratch.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: But do you know why sometimes I feel I don't I don't know if it has something to do with that, but the times because we all get stressed sometimes.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: having so much like not having stillness in your brain that the moment you unplug you're kind of like okay back to reality and then you're like stress about this thing or stress about like different things in your life.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that has to be anything with that or I don't know hard to say but I'm just glad I'm not in that in that anymore.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm glad to so for declaring I want to let's do
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well I have I have one more mental thing like a few I guess that one's digital but I do think for me those two kind of go hand and hand and we've talked about them so we don't want to talk with a lot but I do think for me A mental clutter that doesn't help is
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: self-imposing timelines for no absolute reason like I will impose a timeline for something like just how the day goes and I'm very the opposite of flexible so and unflexible rigid I'm very rigid enough flexible with the random things that nobody is putting on me
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: and I think like the biggest thing that kind of helps me is actually having Yoni be a direct mirror and realizing like, but this doesn't have to happen at this time.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: Especially if there's trust, if there's trust attached to that thing, that timeline that you made up.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's when
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's when I guess it frustrates me a little bit, like the most out of all things is when that happens.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: Can you give an example?
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, like, you love calling out what time it is of the Vietnamese random.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Babe, it's 10.30.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: I have a very weird relationship with just time.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we'll be working over whatever.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: And then she's like, I can't believe it's over the two o'clock.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like okay, why stress about tool.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's it's about to be dark at 5.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, I think like that makes sense because for my job like I need to be able to film stuff and if the daylight is gone Then I can't film it.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like I get that on the stand.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: There's sense, but even when it's not about filming You just love I feel like time is running out all the time if like time is moving by so fast
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: I always feel like I'm running out of time.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have enough time to do everything that I want to do.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: I somehow, in my ideal world, I would be able to wake up at 4 o'clock and get a bunch of stuff done.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: And feel like so much stuff is done and it's like just now 7 a.m.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: So 4 o'clock give me 4 a.m.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a crazy world to look at.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you would love to do so many things and then look at the clock and then just like, okay, it's 9 a.m. no.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: No, not even that 9 a.m. it's late.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that's not that's something that I think is a little bit unhealthy and you stress yourself out for no reason.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: You have to get your work done.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: You have to be on time and you are very disciplined, which is a great thing that is something that I can learn from you.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: But also I think there's there's like this middle ground where is a little bit too much and nothing is worth the stress and how you feel because then sometimes.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: It reflects on to me or like it projects like you it would um you know what I mean like Yeah, it rubs off on you where you would be stressed and I'm not stressed I'm kind of like doing my things going by the day one by one Okay, it's one o'clock.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay cool Let me make sure finish this at least by two or three so I can move on time doesn't stress me out And sometimes it could be a good thing or a bad thing but to me.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: We're like two extremes In my world time does not stress me out
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: And my world is the opposite.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Things will be okay.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: You will finish what you have to do.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Sooner the later obviously is better, which is something that I've been working on.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: My time management has always kind of been like my kind of like my, my enemy, you know what I mean?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: So this year I've been doing better with that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't let time, like stress throughout like that because it doesn't,
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: As long as you get your work done, the little things, I feel like it's now worth stressing over.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's so, it's a waste of energy.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, it is.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a constant, like, I have a constant TikTok sort of in my brain.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know, which is just a whole other tab open in there, on top of everything else.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes there's a friction happening in our relationship, I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, but is when you,
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: try to control too much shit.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: Not only control too much shit, but you want meat to go with my timeline.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: And you with your running clock.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that I also never told you that you never told I have no idea that you have this running clock going on for certain specific things.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going by my way.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, sometimes they do make sense.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes you do make sense, but I think you understand what I mean that's times.
- 23:08[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: you rush certain things that I have no idea why.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe if you told me why you want this, I would understand.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: But I will say that this is one of the maybe most frequent friction reasons, like in our relationship.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: And it is because despite so many things that we're so in tandem and in agreement with in life,
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: the way that we move through life and the speed at which we move is probably one of the biggest differences between the two of us.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is the biggest difference and you know there's there's extremes there's like an extremist on okay let's hurry up to do this and then there's also an extreme side which is like you just taking away too long to do things so neither one is good
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think we do each dabble in the extreme of each side sometimes, and it really is not great when we're both in like my timeline is crazy in my brain today and my time I'm just like
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, really focus on that and you are on the other side where you're just chill it like you just see your kid like I'm I'm getting my things done, but I I take it like my time I don't I hate stressing that's one thing I know but sometimes it's good and it's necessary because if you don't it's good and then you don't get things done you can get things done without stress it
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, I also get it's not that I'm always running at this stress level, but yeah, yeah, but you can get things done without I think we can we can both borrow a little bit of each others definitely, whatever it is called honestly I think for me, maybe sometimes a little bit more of like sense of urgency I think is very important and everybody should have at least a little bit of that you can just totally be.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you said to yourself, you need to be better with your time management.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I recognize that and that is something that I've actually been working on in 2026.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a good year so far, it's not perfect, but we're getting there.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: And my notebook is also keeping me accountable and I love seeing the things that I get done across them off, so it helps me out.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I mean, that for me kind of is it from mentally clutter and also just overthinking, which we talk about many times in a big overthinker and that becomes a huge like it takes up so much.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: It just mugs up my whole brain overthinking about just like so many things.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of just like just do it.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's on your list, just do it.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes I like make things more complicated that they are.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: Because I'm also made procrastinating, doing them.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think also, right, I think also another thing for you, each tab that you have in your mind, in your brain, you feel like needs attention.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: And what I mean by that, it's like, you, not everything that you think of needs like a decision or solution right away.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: You don't feel like you do that.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you, you know how sometimes you
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I think when it comes to the things that you have to do, you just have to like pick one and you kind of mentioned the earlier is very important to do one thing at a time.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: And but sometimes it may be just as an outsider, please sometimes I feel like you try to do so so many things at the same time.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, chronic multitasking.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: It could it's that and I think it goes back to feeling like I don't never have enough time to do everything and that's also that's also that before the issue with that.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: before any of this is the fact that I don't realize how much is possible to be done in one day.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because you know, it's like you start writing your to-do list for the day.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: And if you really write down everything you need to do, you might not even realize it is not possible to do everything they just wrote down today.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you just brain down.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_02]: So then you feel bad and I end up feeling like I'm running at a time and up because like look at my to do this, look how much stuff I have to do.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like bro, you actually can't do everything today.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it goes like from this to the next thing to the next thing.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: Um, would you say friendships can cause mental declutter because I wrote that down here with the idea that if you specifically have a friendship or maybe a friend group or something like that, that maybe they often have a lot of drama, maybe they have a lot of things or maybe they are draining your energy or they, they're very needy, you know, we had the whole
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: That can be or it doesn't have to be a friendship.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: It could be like a family situation.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was going to get into the family thing.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think for me, where it gets into my mental space is having to call people back.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: No, classic.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: Especially like, you know, family overseas, it's good to be in touch with people that you love and stuff like that.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes, just because I'm free today,
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: doesn't mean that I'm free to just talk all day or catch up because sometimes catch enough feels so draining like okay what happened in the last six months I see it's like this I feel like tired I feel like I'm doing those things all over again but you shouldn't be calling somebody that really
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, six months.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know last six months.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't mean six months, like six weeks.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: Or sometimes there's no need to be like a whole catch-up thing.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to be.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't have to be that deep because it also be just like what you did yesterday.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like for example, my dad lives in Belgium.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like I need to catch up with him every weekend.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't talk to my family every weekend every weekend is is very frequent and a lot of things happen in one week and I feel like a week goes by so fast.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like we'll talk on Saturday and then the next Saturday like I'm not saying my dad does that but let's say he expects so like
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: have a call and catch up.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the thing is your dad will call you like after you just talked.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: We're just funny.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just like, nothing happened since the last time we caught up.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Everything, I literally just woke up.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so, but I get it, you know, this is distance and you know, you miss your family and like his older.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I get it.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: I get that part.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes, for me, as being like, you know, his son,
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: Um, or just for anybody, let's say you could be also a friend who's not clingy, but someone who just always sends you things.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, you ever have a friend who just sends you all the calls of sends you things.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: Watch this video.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: Watch this or like, they just,
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but that's where you have to just you have to mute it if this is like a thing that you can sense is causing like clutter in your phone right just just put to the side something about muting it it's not no, not even the suspect for muting is a tab I'm aware that this thing is muted.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: So what I would like to I deal with it.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: You want to get on the car right now?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: If I have five minutes, I'm going to call you real quick.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, all you have to think is good.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this week I did that and right now I'm at work.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I can't really talk for that long.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't avoid it.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't avoid it.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: I deal with it right away because the moment I deal with it, it's it's a it's a tab that's closed.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: My friend sent me something.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: It said five in the video, and you know, when you think about it five minutes is not a long time But I'm just like to not I hate having those tabs open especially mentally or my computer does something else But mentally, I'm a watch that video.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: I might scheme through it be like wow, that's fire Or if it's a cool video I don't know but sometimes I feel bad doing it because I don't give him my real time
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like my real, if they want me to watch something, I hate skipping through it and just kind of giving them an answer just to get rid of that tab because I didn't really sit with what they, it's important to evaluate your friends and send you sometimes, especially if it's something important.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: If it's never really have them.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: I have to.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: If it's something that's not really important, I'm just like, okay, cool.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that was, that was a crazy trailer.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever, right?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I like to deal with it right away.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say, for example, right now, I hate having unread texts.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm not a person.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like the best best texture in a world.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I always say that.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: You text Yoni, you're going to get a response as soon as I see it.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Because I hate having that tab, like, oh,
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta I gotta text this person back then you get another text.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta text that person back, so then it takes space in my brain So are you somebody that never has those notification bubbles on your Text no, because I was I respond to it and I get rid of yeah
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: and it feels so good, sometimes you have to do it.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I always reply.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sometimes I ask you a question and let's say we don't have time, you know, but I'm never like seeing something and not responding to it.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a seeer, respond, boom, done.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: And until I get the next one.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how I try to like keep my, how do you feel then?
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: This is a perfect segue to talk about group chats.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: Really all over.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a single group chat that goes like this.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good, but you still see like activity that there is activity in the group chat, right?
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I still see activity, but I don't get a notification.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: And if it's a group chat, I don't have to answer necessarily.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just a part of the group.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: Right, right, right, right.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it depends on what we're talking about.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it depends on what the group chat is, too.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, right now, I have, like, this, this, uh, London group chat on WhatsApp.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's, like, 40 people in it and it's a group chat about getting accommodation to people who visit London.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's random and it's like this apartment going for you know 1,200 pounds and it's a good view Why are you that good and they drop in because my friend because when I was planning to go to London I was I was like asking around in a friend gave me this group chat and I joined I think it's more than like I think it's 80 people and it's really cool.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think group chats need to be muted
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: But some, yeah, no, I think all group chats should be muted.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the group chats we have with our friends, I don't meet that.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely muted because it's, you know, I don't know.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like sometimes the group chats become crazy.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a lot, especially when you're busy and everyone else is not busy.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: So they haven't known a day.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like I have a family group chat with everybody that's in Romania and in Seattle and obviously me and the group chat is always in my dad, like loves us in articles and she liked that.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what I did in order to, I didn't mute the chats.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: basically all notifications on my phone.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking from all the apps, except for text, because I text, you know, my immediate friends and stuff like that, I'm not really somebody that text, like a lot of people all the time.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you're so good to close all all.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's amazing, because I used to get notifications if somebody DM me on Instagram, like people that are in my primary, like people that actually know.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: I closed that.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: But even that, we have group chats with people on there that we send random videos to.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll see it when I go on the app.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: But I no longer get an notification.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: I no longer get the red bubble.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: which is nice because sometimes I would just have a bubble on an app and I would just go to see what it is.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, so there's none of that.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I turned doubly notifications that I get now are texts and I have a patreon notifications as well.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: So now like when someone patreon to me when somebody says something on a chat, it's kind of like texting because it's such a
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Community that I feel like it's it feels like texting and it doesn't feel like I don't know And so if you're on patreon just so you know you're not muted, but other other group chats are Yeah, you know patreon is definitely not muted and I love the people you know the photos that people drop there So that's why I don't know if you're listening to this in your patreon I've been responding a lot faster because I get that shit like as a tech So I could be walking down the street and I'm just like texting it right now I naturally just do that which is a little bit different for you
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I mean in general I just like I really only reply to people that are like in my phone like that I know Yeah, like that's my priority yeah, you know, and then if there's like the other stuff I do sometimes feel like it's clutter because there's just like so much stuff in my phone yeah and this is the perfect segue then to just talking about like digital declutter because
- 36:19[SPEAKER_02]: Especially for us working as I said from our computers, but also these are like work and personal computers.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: You have a lot of stuff on there.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: So the first thing I wrote in my digital declutter.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we probably will like have similar things, but one of them is organizing.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: Documents, but specifically I'm talking about like important life documents or for us like business documents and organizing them in folders So we have like, you know my business We have the tax returns.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: We have the whatever business license as I need whatever like Invoices and then also those don't just drop them in the folder make folders for each thing.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big folder guy in the computer
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: the same thing with like for your personal stuff, you know, something that's very adult, I think, is having a bunch of very important documents scanned and saved in your computer.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm talking
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like birth certificate just random things that on like normally you don't need until you do And you're like oh I got a scan this I got to put on my computer.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good to open your computer And no one exactly where to go and you have it there.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: Right, so that for me was big and I'm still it's a work in progress and also you know like you're going to keep adding stuff depending on I think because of us and like having running our own businesses and around Like when tax season comes and all this stuff is just a lot.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: So staying organized with that is very important.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of takes a little bit space in your mental space.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know we talk about like digital but
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, like actually in your physical space, like where do you, yeah, like not knowing what your birth certificate is and like a little like like doctor's shit.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like you know you can live your life and be like them.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where you ever just think about something around.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, where is that?
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: And you're kind of hoping like damn kind of hope it's where I think it is, but I don't know exactly.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a little tab in your brain that's just somewhere like yeah, it's really important to be like organized with that stuff.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, digital space.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think we just talked about the apps.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: That was like the first thing on my list, right?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: Deleting apps that you do no longer need.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: I have so many apps still.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, after this episode, I need to delete some.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I have some workout apps.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: I have something that I signed up for still get emails about that I don't need.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_00]: So like, unsubscribing the things that you no longer need.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's really, really important.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: And that
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: um Instagram following I used to follow accounts for just because I don't know it's just like a bunch of comedy things and I love those accounts and I have a separate account which is my private Instagram that I follow all those things and I follow all the people that I personally know in my life
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but my main account, which is Yoni Coro, I try to all the follow things that I am inspired by, or make it kind of like a work account.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: But it's kind of my main account as well, you know.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: But unsubscribing, like, I mean, I guess that one is like unfollowing.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just a friend that, like someone that I met up to borrow and had an amazing conversation with him back in 2020, haven't seen him since, have a talk since, and I see them posting things about their family and stuff.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's great.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy for them, but it's just adds to extra information to them.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, extra information.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: The same thing goes for, I wrote also on subscribing
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, like email list.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: I literally delete every day.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's like part of my routine I know to just delete like newsletter or like random Subscribed emails of like promotions and yeah, it's shit that I only bought one time or never even bought it And I do that every day and it's just like unsubscribed scroll all the way to the bottom.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: There's always unsubscribed Yeah, we're going but one by one.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know how much stuff I'm subscribed to it's crazy
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: because I wanted to discount, you know how they get you, you want to buy something from this store and they're like, put your email here to get 15% off.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then I get to, I get to discount and I buy whatever thing I wanted to buy and then I like never unsubscribe.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: The worst is when they also tell you to put your phone number and then they get you on email and text.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: I never put my phone on me.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you want, sometimes a good as discount, it's like 20% off.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, what about old files on your computer?
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: I was literally just reading.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have old photos from like your iPhone 5?
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have random things like that saved in my computer.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, a lot of stuff like that.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: I have like in a cloud.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the cloud is another big.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: My God.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I don't know how to use that thing.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the cloud makes it, I don't know if I will ever do it to like, declutter my cloud or whatever, because I have just one, I have a lot of clouds.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's something.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think clouds are not meant to be declared.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: Clouds are meant for you to be like, you know what, if I'm looking for this one picture, it might be there.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_00]: It might be there and you can go find it there.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: So it's actually pretty cool.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: The cloud think of it like a trash can.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think of it as like, you know what, I don't know where to put this shit, let me just put it here.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't save anything in my cloud.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, let me put it in my cloud, so I don't go, I never go to my cloud.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe there.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: I were recently for the 2016 thing, looking for 2016 photos to realize I don't have that many.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, but the cloud is definitely not a storage thing for me.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think you could be much more intentional with using the cloud.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: I used Google, I guess it's called Google Drive.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like all my photography projects that I ever worked on.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're either on Dropbox or Google Drive.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I make like specific folders with different colors.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: Shoot somewhere.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: I write their models name.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: So it's pretty cool.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: I can look at all my work from the past.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's good to have it saved like that.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: Another thing that we do because again, like we work so much digitally and we have so much content from podcast episodes to podcast, video episodes to YouTube videos.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: So all these files, there's so many files.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: they are weakly, there's a weakly turnover of all this content and another thing that we I think have gotten really good at is backing up our work and transferring work that's already been done onto like a bigger storage thing and knowing exactly where it is.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's really important.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: But one thing I wanted to say is like one thing that I do pretty frequently is I delete my downloads.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: oh yeah deleting downloads I don't know the pens again how you use your computer but because we use ours like literally every day so much um I was be downloading random things that I need to like for my videos whether it's like music or I I send photos from my phone to my computer to then add to the video or I'm like editing something and and my downloads ends up being like so much random stuff yeah a lot of things in your downloads right now oh I think I did like a recent cleanse
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: I did a recent cleanse too, but I also just recently got a new computer, so anytime you get a new device, it's almost like the perfect scenario, like okay I may be so organized I'm not about to transfer any photos, you know when I got this new computer, I was so mad because I accidentally synced all my photos
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: to that computer so that it felt like it wasn't even a new computer because all the tabs, all the clutter was on that computer so I had to figure out how to like un-sync everything.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: So now when I open the photos app on my computer there's nothing because it used to be like when I first did it I would take a photo with my iPhone.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: And it would directly go on your hair.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then if you go on my computer.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's so annoying.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is so annoying.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I was so mad.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: So now my new computer is literally just for photography, podcast and my Utah.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, nothing else.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: Feels so nice.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Feels so good, yeah.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: One, since you, since we've been talking about this constantly throughout this whole episode, I also wrote down to close tabs.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not talking mental tabs.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking about tabs that you have opened in your browser.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: If I can't write now, I have at least 60.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way, no.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: Just the way you have that many.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I do.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: There's no way.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_00]: Most of the tabs are YouTube video that I just started watching.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then I didn't have time to finish it, so then I would leave it.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's possible for you to have that many open.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: But then the next day, I don't feel like watching that video again, but that tab still exists.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: So then I'm just like, I'm repressing YouTube.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because these days, there's new content every day.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I love watching interviews and documentaries.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: So then I open and I see, oh, you know, Will Smith came out with a documentary or national geographic call called Pull to Pull.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: Still random.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: Full full yeah, and then I started watching it.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: I watched the first episode he went to like Antarctica and it was really cool.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: I do not watch you watch it on YouTube.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think they only put the first full episode on YouTube The rest is on Hulu so I highly recommend watch the new will submit documentary on a on National geographic it's pretty cool, but don't you think you could do a better job at having less
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: tabs because there's this new thing.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you use Google Chrome, you can group, you show me this.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: You can group tabs together.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're like, for example, going on a trip and you have a tab open for like hotels, another tab open for flights, another tab open for activities like all these things.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then now you can group them together and name it like whatever, you know, vacation.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: give it a different color and then if you want to you can close it so then it becomes only one tab that says vacation when you open it and so like I this is nice to for in terms of declutter or visual at least yeah exactly because I have like the the pocket I always have is the work one that has like my personal email, my calendar, my work email, like my bookkeeping like taxes stuff and my
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: And that's like always in the work thing.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: What color is the work thing?
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Red, yeah.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: Of course.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then I have, uh, and then I, oh, and then I have like, shopping.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: I knew you were going to have a shopping one.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Which right now, right now?
- 47:20[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, I actually don't even know.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: I have the shopping one.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: Are you open?
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: Sure, double check.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: I have my computer right here.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you open the,
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I do have it, but there's only like three things in it.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, see, for me sometimes there's like one of those group things that if you open that thing, it shows up as a one, right?
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like with the group.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_00]: But once you click on it, I'm telling you it's going to be like 50 ads, which is just open.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_00]: I have a tab just called YouTube.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's bad.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: You click on it, there's like 50 videos that I'm like halfway, but I need to do better.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just need to go on YouTube and just do watch later.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: Watch later.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: But the thing is, you do that.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: You never watch it.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: My watch later list is ridiculous.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: And you never gonna watch it.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, because now there's new things I can do.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like for you, the only thing that you can actually watch stuff is for it to just stay open.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I need to just close everything.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: Forget it.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: If I haven't watched it, I don't just forget it.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have that.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have any, I don't have any YouTube stuff open.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: You want to talk about physical space?
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about, well, we kind of talked about physical space a little bit, but I want to talk about specifically the kitchen.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_02]: I have the kitchen written down too.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: You have that too.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: We, it's only me and Ali in this apartment.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: But like, the amount of cups that we have, it's as if we live with like 17 roommates.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we do have too many things to me.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: We don't need that.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well for one, some stuff is like, because of my job, you know, a lot of things do get gifted.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not only stuff that we buy.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, we're talking about the stuff that we buy.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I'm saying sometimes the clutter is there because we receive things like as a gift from like brands or stuff like that and then you have it.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_02]: In your apartment.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want in the first place, but I received it and I'm grateful for it, but now I'm like, okay, what am I going to do with this like set of six bowls that I don't need.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: So then getting yourself to donate it is like a whole tank because I need to bring it to the donation thing or then like do you sell it.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: How many plates do you think a couple should have in your apartment?
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think you should have like six plates.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: because you don't want to only have to place it up to watch the area.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Imagine someone come over and then you're like, yeah, we only have two plates and then the rest are just like a plastic from the store downstairs.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: Nah, we do have a, we have a full cupboard.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_02]: We do have like too many things.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I think six, six is okay.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: Six knives, six plates, if you feel, oh, I don't know.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about knives and shit because like sometimes I use a knife to like put some almond butter on toast and then like I don't want to wash it right away You want to have extra, but I was going to say in the kitchen one thing that always always is just the worst and it like kind of like hurts my brain to think about Is can I guess what it is yeah The dishes no no
- 50:16[SPEAKER_02]: Once I tell, once I say, I know your reaction is going to be, oh my god.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that we have in the kitchen, all the time, oh, pants.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_00]: Because we do have a few, like we do have a lot of people.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but the pants are organized.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: We know exactly where they go.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, what is it, tell me.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's, we use it to store all of our storage containers, like our tupperware, that we put
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: There's a netty area for that.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: There's a drawer that all the like stoves and ovens have.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: That is at the bottom, you pull it out and it's made out of metal.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just a drawer.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's clunky.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know what people will use that for, but we've always used it for... You probably use it for pans, but we use it for like all of our containers to put leftovers in, or some like baking trays, stuff like that.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: But we have multiple sizes.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_02]: and they don't always like fit together and then you also have the lids that go on top of the thing and then that George always a mess and it's always so annoying and sometimes you have like plastic round things and you have glass square things you have to back them so perfectly because otherwise it wouldn't close and I hate when it doesn't close because when it's loud yeah out of the
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like glass on metal.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: Glass on metal is just like we need to figure this shit out.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if we need, if we just have too many of those things.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't think we have too many because we use them all the time.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also so low to the ground.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm some tall, strong getting there to me.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm going into the underground.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: We did it like that.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: So that part of our kitchen is always so annoying and one other one is having a lot of random jars and sauces.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: Mason jars are great.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, jars like with stuff in it like mayo and jam like in the fridge.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: Okay
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's a lot of households like every time I go to my mom's house, my parent's house in Seattle.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_02]: I open their fridge and they have so many random like store-bought sauces, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, like whatever teriyaki sauce, and they always, always expired.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_02]: They just be hanging out to shit that just like don't use it anymore.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: What's the oldest thing you ever found in the fridge?
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know something from like twenty six twenty seventeen that is crazy It's like in the back of the fridge.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not always sometimes it's like right there Just nobody's ever used it in years
- 52:51[SPEAKER_00]: That is insane.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it was in their pantry that was 2017 because that's a thing.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: If you have like a big pantry, it's very easy to just keep buying things that you need.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: And the random purchase of like, I'm going to buy this sauce.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds like an interesting.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: But you never end up using it.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's just in the back of the pantry and it just sits there for years and years and years.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, the kitchen.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think it decluttering your fridge just every once in a while and we do we do it We did that right when we came back from upstate before the new year.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah everyone's so well Just take take out everything out of the fridge just take out every single item Do a nice clean up give it a nice wipe.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know it feels good and then just as you put in things back look at it Really check the date and be like do we need this yes or no?
- 53:42[SPEAKER_02]: Anything that's like yeah boom go try yeah, and you can do that exact same Like process you just named for any part of your apartment like the media Console you right if you have a TV or even if you like we don't have a TV, but we still have a media like stand thing
- 54:02[SPEAKER_02]: And in there, sometimes, you know, sometimes there's things in your apartment or your home that you have that just don't just don't categorize right for any drawer that you have.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I can, I guess I'm just going to randomly put it here.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't have a home and I remember there's a video, it was a video or was like an Instagram post that I saw that the Japanese and Japanese culture is like very, they're very good with being organized and not really having clutter and having a space that feels very like mind-clearing because they have these certain rules that they like grow up with and live by and one of them is that if an object doesn't have a clear home, it doesn't belong in your home.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: which I think is like really interesting.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: There's obviously things that you can just have out like books or a speaker or something like that.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_02]: But if there's something that can be put outside visually, you know, it's something that you store somewhere and you only use it when you need it.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_02]: But you never use it.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just like, you don't need it in your house.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_02]: One thing that I did write for physical declutter, specifically for,
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: clothing.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, do you know what I just wrote down?
- 55:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, what clothing?
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know how you didn't write that down before because that's a huge declarer.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: I can say you guys, the moment right there that I didn't say anything after Ellie was done talking, I was I took my pen and I wrote down something because I wanted to bring it up and then Alia, the very next thing you mentioned was clothes.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: Can I start, please?
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go ahead.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: I recently did a pop-up in Brooklyn, shout out to everybody who came.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't that many people, but if you listen to this and you were there, thank you, I appreciate you, because that was the worst day.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was, yeah, I was...
- 55:50[SPEAKER_00]: It was snowing, snowing, snowing.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_00]: It was so bad, but some of you still came, so that was really cool to just meet your in-person.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: Shout it to you.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so the reason why I did that the reason why I bring it up is because I have way too many clothes.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: So in these clothes that were at the pop-up were just extra clothes that they either don't fit anymore.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I just maybe I grew them.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like stylistically, stylistically, yeah, or not physically, you know, but then also it was just something that I changed my mind about some things are brand new, some things were not so they were sitting in my closet in a big in a few big tote bags for months, months you guys, meaning to put them on deep up, make it online store, but then it's like a whole different job right you got a lot.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have time for that.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, take a picture, write the sizing description all that.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, um,
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the pop-up was a great thing.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to Jordan, help me out with that, at his vintage store.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just, it was a good way to, if Felica got rid of a lot of clothes.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: In my closet right now, there's still some stuff that I want to get rid of.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_00]: So right now, what I'm doing this week and last week and following week, probably is that the things that I don't wear, the things that are not in like my daily weekly rotation.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_02]: Things I just don't ever reach for.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_00]: I want to get rid of because we all have that shirt that you haven't worn in a year or two or three.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe time you pick it up to think about maybe getting rid of it.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: You think about the day that you would wear it.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, you know, one day, I could wear it if I go there, but then you never go there.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_02]: So that's exactly what I wrote.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote the quote-unquote, just in case clothes, which I have a lot of those.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: You have a lot of, I feel like your whole thing is just in my whole closet.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's so hot.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to get rid of some stuff like that?
- 57:51[SPEAKER_02]: The thing is I have in the past where you don't.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I'm done.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think you have a lot of jackets.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a lot of jackets, but at the same time, somehow I feel like, oh, but I don't have the, I don't have like a leather jacket, and I'm gonna do it.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_00]: You want to have leather jacket?
- 58:07[SPEAKER_00]: One of each kind, but that's sometimes you want to have that kind in a different color.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want that.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_00]: I want to have two jackets.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: I want to have maybe a love pants.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_00]: If anything, if there's one item, I love to have his pants.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe give me like a little bit more.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would see you only would have like six jeans.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_02]: And they're all the same color gene.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: They're not even like one is in to go and one is like But there will be a bit different.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know difference.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know a difference.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know the difference is in the cut Yeah, but see I don't want to care about that anymore Just giving the basic like I So yeah, anyways, you brought that up because you brought up to Japanese like like minimalism thing Yeah, which I love and yeah, that's it going
- 58:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, close.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: I have a lot of just in case close for sure.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_02]: And things that I'm just having a hard time parting with because I pick it up as you said, you're like, you know, I haven't really worn this in like three years.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_02]: But they will come a time when I will be like, oh, yeah, this is a perfect time to wear this one.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_02]: Sure, or just mind that time yourself or something or it's seasonal clothing, you know, which I do think is important like to, you know, turn your closet over for the seasons.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_02]: So any summer stuff right now you should have like stored away and out of your closet.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because that I also think is clutter because you can't wear it anyways, but it's like kind of in your way So I think it's good.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's like any stuff that is first summer very clearly Take it out of your closet and put it in your, you know, store it somewhere where the sun is your bed or somewhere where you can store stuff
- 59:47[SPEAKER_02]: and then in the winter or in the when it is summer you take all your winter stuff that also is still bulky and that's why my closet right now feels like I need to fight with it to get shit up.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_02]: Oh but yeah and then you take all the all the winter stuff you smush it down and boxes or I have these like air sucking system where you put in these like vacuum bags.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Those are great.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_02]: Those are great, especially like living in a small space here, and it makes it a lot easier to store a lot of bulky stuff.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then you suck the air out, you make a nice and small, and you store it until next winter.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then you, because like, it would be crazy in the summer to have your jackets in your closet, you know?
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, for me, I think my jackets are...
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I have a lot of jackets, I guess.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like I have coats, and I have various kind of jackets.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I have her I like variety, but I do definitely definitely have just in place clothing and I will also stay another thing too is in the past I would see myself like maybe in a photo wearing a piece of clothing that I no longer have that I'm like damn like I caught right at that and I kind of would wear that now
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_02]: So there's been moments where I remembered a piece of clothing that I maybe gave away at one point because I didn't want it anymore then that I would want to have now.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_02]: So sometimes I'm like, if my first instinct is to get rid of it, this, some things are very easy and clear cut, but other things I have I have a little back and forth, I'm like,
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_02]: Is it just because it fell out of trend right now or fell out of my rotation right now or is it truly because like I'm not inclined to wear this anymore?
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it's hard to make the difference and I just I don't want to regret like getting rid of something that in a year from now I wish they still had, you know?
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that's the wrong mentality.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_00]: Then you'll keep a lot of things.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean you can also be a collector like I also think it's okay.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: See, that's the opposite of what I have stuff over time.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I want to, I, I'd also don't want my turn over of clothing to be so much.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: Does your closet overwhelm you?
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: I know where everything is.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't wear, I don't wear all, like, 50% of it right now.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_00]: When you want to get up to, when you want to get dressed in a morning or anywhere, to go anywhere, do you feel stressed?
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't know what to grab, what to look for.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_00]: Feel like a sense of, like,
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_02]: you know why?
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because right now I've really been like I'm just going to keep wearing the same stuff for an over again.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like right now I have my pants that are in my rotation if you want to call it like my three pairs that I'm just constantly wearing and then I have my sweaters and then I have my under layers of that go under my sweaters and like my t-shirts and I'm at home and I'm good.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: that's amazing and I'm just good with like that's my arsenal right now of like things that I'm choosing.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_02]: I have a lot of other stuff in my closet right now.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not really stuff I want to wear in the moment.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's also not the weather for it and that's another thing too that I'm like trying to make an outfit when like the weather's so cold.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you're just going to put a jacket on top of it anyways and it's kind of it's kind of I've made peace with that.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I care less about like I'm not really trying to put together an outfit.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think for you, the thing with the clothes is also kind of not fully but it's part of your job as a wild too.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and but for me, it's very different because it's totally not that's why I think for me, my perspective on as a little bit different because I, I'm okay with not having a lot of clothes and even right now my closet.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_00]: It was double the side, it felt like it was double the sides, right?
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I still want to make it smaller, because I don't, because I don't necessarily post like fit checks.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't feel like I need to have, I don't know, like even shoes, I have a way to make shoes that I don't need or wait.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, literally, Johnny, all of last year, wore one pair of shoes.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_02]: Still, where's the same one?
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_00]: Doc Marlins.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: The same pair.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: The same pair.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: There are no people say they're not comfortable, but once you break them in, they are the most, they're probably like my favorite shoe.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_00]: I ever had in my life a swear.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but actually this is a perfect way to get to the next note that I wrote, which is impulse versus intentional buying.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_02]: that is not just necessarily towards clothing.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_02]: But since we're talking about clothing, I have the perfect example for this, where you write, you bought the dog martens, you bought one pair, the low ones, not the high top one, the low, I don't know exactly what the girl is.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like Derby's, maybe, Oxford's.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: The boy ones.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_02]: You bought the dogs.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_02]: War them every day.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_00]: I went hiking with them.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_02]: know literally they became like they're almost part of Yoni yeah and those were like you bought those and you were like you know what I love those they're perfect whatever would you say that's an intentional purchase
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: That was an intentional purchase, yes, but it took a while for me to actually wear them because at first I kind of gave up on them.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_00]: Give me blisters very uncomfortable, but they look really good and I feel like it fits my style so much because it's like it could be a casual shoe.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_00]: It could be a little bit more dressy that you can pull off a lot of outfits with that shoe.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: It kind of elevates all my outfits.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my double and a pair.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think you should, and I was just actually earlier looking at the brown ones, like a brown color.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a brown shoe, and if I'm getting any.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_02]: I can't see wearing a brown shoe.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I want to look into that, but anyway, so those are great.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_00]: And...
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I wanted to bring up how then you were like, you know what, I kind of want to get like a pair of sneakers like I don't want to have a pair of sneakers that I like, you know, you got rid of a bunch of like other sneakers you had before they weren't wearing like the sambas stuff like that and then you only discovered the Nike Cortez right and I didn't discover I didn't discover.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm saying like you to you was discovered.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying you discovered them for the first time.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know, but even that is me.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_00]: I was aware of that shoe a long time ago.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_00]: I was never participated.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: I never got one.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's say you just like whatever whatever you would call that moment.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_02]: But you had a moment where Yoni was like, you bought one pair and you liked it.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_02]: And what he did is he ordered three more pairs in different colors.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_02]: And let me tell you most of them.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_02]: have been sitting at the bottom of that closet taking up space and that to me I will say was an impulse purchase yeah that was he even customized one in different color ways to match did you do it like to match the
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, because the forest gum colors weren't available.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think in my size, so I kind of just like made it my own, like with the red with the red straw.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_00]: How many times do you wear that?
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, I haven't even worn the brand new.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm keeping one is the white with the black stripe.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_00]: I have a brown one as well.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_00]: So these are the things that I'm gonna get rid of these shoes.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't like...
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to put you on the spot.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_02]: I just think this is the perfect example
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was trying to figure out what color do I like, whatever, but I... And you were excited, you were like, oh, I found a shoe that I really like, so let me get it.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not, uh, I'm not a, what do you call it?
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I approve and I'm all for if you find something you really like, and you find yourself wearing it a lot, get it in multiple colors.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was... That I don't know about shoes.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and also it goes against everything that I want to do, like having four pairs of, I want to live like more simply.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just like what's the guy from Perfect Days?
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_00]: Horyama, Horyama?
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember his name.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_02]: Do you even know his name in the show?
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, in the movie.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: The toilet cleaner, the public toilet cleaner.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, I know.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember his name in the movies, right?
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like a hot yama or hariyama, something like that.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, like, I really see myself in the movie.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_00]: How simple he is even though like I have a way more close than he does.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_00]: He just have like a few things But it's so it feels like it's so cool that he has his little point in shoot film camera and his life is just so simple That's how I want to get to that point.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it doesn't take me a long time to get dressed.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_00]: I know what I have.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mostly grab the same things.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_00]: I can outfit repeat.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care about it.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we do outfit repeat.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I don't care about it.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a thing that crosses my mind.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, I wore these yesterday.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know what?
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's so interesting.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, sorry.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why when you wear an outfit that you've worn before, it doesn't feel like it's an outfit repeat.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_00]: For me?
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't even think about like, oh, you're wearing an exact same thing you wore.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think cause that she just looks good on me.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_00]: could be and because also because it's not it's not uh my outfits are not like I put this some time.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was gonna say your outfits are like almost so similar but at the same time slightly different that it's like did you wear the shirt yesterday was a different one?
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like if I do with shirts and like basically my clothes is I have a pair of pants and it She sure then the next day I might wear like you mentioned early my jeans, but then they're all kind of look the same But they kind of not the same.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_00]: I would wear something else, but then the same style of t-shirt same whatever Yeah, like you don't really plan with you don't really play that much with
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not creative with my outfits at all.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's why they feel, you don't think that it's the same.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's not too much of, oh, it's that same sweater.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_00]: Perfect, because I didn't put on the sweater and then a jacket and then a green sharp and then the...
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's just scarf.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, like you would, and I also don't play around too much with colors.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't wear like a poppy color.
- 1:10:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's why it never feels like I wore the same thing twice.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, I wore the shit the whole weekend.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, versus for me, I have this cash mirror like long sleeve sweater that I love the red one.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the red one.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's so nice.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_02]: And it's so nice.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I do get in my head sometimes because I keep like that's in my rotation right and the winter like I keep wanting to wear the sweater.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, having ready your rotations crazy.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I love it.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like overthinking when I choose it.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_02]: Especially if I'm filming a video or something, I'm like, damn, I'm going to really be going to wear the sweater again.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_02]: But like I want to, you know, it's like just where the sweater.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I'm like, I get in my head about it.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just where I should.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Supreme jackets that I have, the first few videos, I have on YouTube, they're all the same jacket.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even think about it.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, so people are thinking like, yo, is this the same day?
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_00]: I know people don't think that, but now when I go to my YouTube, it's, you're wearing the same jacket.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_00]: I have like, out of the 15 videos that I have now, there's at least seven of them with the same jacket.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_00]: If you've never been on my YouTube channel, it's youtube.com slash, you own a e-code, or please go subscribe.
- 1:11:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I do think like impulse versus intentional buying with everything that comes in your life, it's what will actually help you not really let your space in your life and the things you own become cluttered because if you're just like, oh, I like this, I'm gonna buy it, oh, I like this, I'm gonna buy it.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_02]: thinking about what you're buying and maybe even spending a bit more money so then you're not gonna repurchase again or you're not gonna feel like yeah this is good but it's like not exactly what I wanted so I'm gonna buy another thing that's maybe closer to what I wanted and then you're buying more stuff.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think the difference between us two and when it comes to like buying things, it may be it's not cleared.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_00]: To me it's very clear.
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I, when I get something, it's something that I feel like our, our really need.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_00]: I need, I can need that.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's subjective.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_00]: No, well,
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_02]: When you bought like 10 graphic teas, you didn't need 10.
- 1:12:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I needed those, you know why?
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Those, they were all white, random, like, car companies, like, you know, for... You're wearing one right now.
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, Honda those vintage t-shirts those are like my favorite type of t-shirts very simple We just like a car company right, but I don't have a lot of white t-shirts So at that moment, I was just like you know what let me get Some white t-s Okay, and that's what I did do a do I need them?
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need them, but I just wanted white t-shirts.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so that's why I said it's kind of subjective What one needs?
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_02]: I guess so yeah, that's true because I also mean it impulse versus intentional buys I also mean that can apply to like your home
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why, for example, impulse purchase, you could say is the couch that we have now and we've had almost for three years.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_02]: And we want to change it.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_02]: And Yona keeps saying, oh, you're like, taking forever, you're so picky, blah, blah, about getting any couch.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it's because I want to be intentional about it, because if we're going to get another couch,
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Which furniture is like made to order so whole thing have to wait for it.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the annoying part.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_02]: But if we're going to get a couch, I want it to be the closest it can get to what we really want.
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to make sure we choose the color that we like and we make the right decision.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_02]: Compared to how we bought the couch, we have now.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_02]: It was like, we just need a couch, like, let's figure out one that's like not super expensive and like get in sometimes.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's just the situation that you're in.
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_02]: but if you can, have the time and the, the, the,
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_02]: the financial means to, you know, put more and sometimes it's not even that more, more expensive.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's like not buying the first thing that you find.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_02]: Or maybe you're just having patients, as I said, like a couch, maybe it's the same cost as the one that we bought now, but the couch, there's one that is not the color that we like, but it could come in a week, and then there's another couch that we could wait for the color that we want, but it's going to come in eight weeks.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he likes to be dramatic.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're never getting great couch again.
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're never getting a a great couch again.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Something so we got the mental, we got physical space and what was there was another one, right?
- 1:14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Digital.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Digital.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_00]: But there is one that I don't know exactly where it is.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_01]: Where to place it?
- 1:14:37[SPEAKER_02]: Where to place it?
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_00]: What a place it, but getting rid of these like random fears that we have in our brain, right?
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that also takes space.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more mentally.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_00]: What I mean by fear, right?
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, I'm scared to, like, let's say someone just wanted to start a YouTube channel for a long time.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_00]: Then we'll don't, and I don't always think about it.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_00]: I want to start it, but I don't want to be judged by people, blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever, like that, right?
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think getting rid of that, you either like just scrap that idea completely and just move on because I do think it takes space or if you just start you just do the thing.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_00]: You want it to make music but you always there's always like excuses, whatever, start it, just do it.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that kind of takes space a little bit to in people's brains.
- 1:15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because that plays right into overthinking.
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I don't understand it so it's such a real thing and it take, I mean at least for me it takes like YouTube for me was Was one of those things I was taking space and I wanted to do it for years And it was just like a thing that was on my brain daily without even realizing it.
- 1:15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, so if I felt good now that it's out It's just like and it could be anything and I just online shit.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I got to know start your own business to start it or just forget, you know
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I definitely hear you.
- 1:15:57[SPEAKER_02]: And that's real.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_02]: I have one more on my list and it's the last one and I don't know maybe you don't agree with me on this But probably don't she have to say that.
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:16:08[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like maybe we talked about this before on an episode analog.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_02]: It was what I wrote here and it was in the miscellaneous categories that I didn't know where to put it is over saving in spell
- 1:16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes.
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why, but like if I go on my Instagram and I go to my saves, I didn't go as far as to, you know, make collections of saves of like food.
- 1:16:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, you don't have fashion.
- 1:16:37[SPEAKER_02]: Nah, like I did that, but then anytime I would say something, I just save it.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like put it in a collection.
- 1:16:43[SPEAKER_00]: You should, then.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but I do think in general we're kind of in this and maybe I should just speak for myself, but I'm sure maybe there's other people that feel this way too that we're in this sort of cycle of not knowing.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes I had to do things, but also just constantly being like saving in spell.
- 1:17:06[SPEAKER_02]: Going on Pinterest, and I'm just saving in spell for life, saving in spell for food, for my apartment, for my job, for my face, for my death.
- 1:17:14[SPEAKER_02]: And we're in this like in spell crazed moment.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_02]: When everything is like, oh, it's such an inspo or like, oh, yeah, she's inspo vibes.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we were sitting at this coffee shop.
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_02]: And next to us, I was over here in this conversation of I think it was some sort of content creator that was talking to two other women who had some sort of agency.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I think they were talking my strategy for her content.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_02]: So of course, like I can help at ease drop and they were talking about other content creators that she may be liked their content or looked up to or whatever and it was the way that they were talking about like yeah, she's such in spell like I love like all the things that she does and like and maybe think like how it's fine but it's fine but it made me think about how even I sometimes you told me this remember when I was painting
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_02]: And I had my painting moment where I was like you know, I just want to paint.
- 1:18:08[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see what comes out and I still have to like pick it up again
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_02]: but I found myself not even being able to put brush to canvas with whatever color without first going to Pinterest and looking at what should I do?
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you go there when you wanna create something.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the thing.
- 1:18:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I think, where I think I am stuck in this sort of cycle of sometimes I need the end spell before I do something.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_02]: I can just do something.
- 1:18:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I become like reliant and sort of like used to doing this and just the idea of constantly saving in spowing in spowing like sometimes you never would go back to it.
- 1:18:52[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many things that I say on my Instagram that I never look back on like a recipes and shit.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say that to I save a lot and I can't remember the last time I went into the save folder to that stuff.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember, but there's also something satisfying about just knowing that it's
- 1:19:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_02]: If I ever think about this again, I know I can go back and look at it.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_02]: But sometimes the thing that I look back for to go, like, be like, oh, I remember this thing, like, this product, someone talked about or this, whatever, and I didn't save it.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I also think it's really important for you to make folders because let's say the day comes where you go into that Saved folder on Instagram or Pinterest and you don't categorize kitchen sports.
- 1:19:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just have to scroll that takes it that kind of It's almost like work now you got to find it.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Where is this now?
- 1:19:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's another thing.
- 1:19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but if you categorize you know, exactly.
- 1:19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it's in here.
- 1:19:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah So I do I do have folders for everything, but I just like never really going on
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know why I feel like over saving stuff and constantly like saving in spoe and feeding yourself so much information all the time and sometimes I'm just like, just go live your life, you know, I need to tell myself that I'm work because even if I don't know what to wear, I'm like, let me go to Pinterest, that girl just choose enough it.
- 1:20:13[SPEAKER_00]: Choose enough it go outside, okay, last thing, it's very short, okay.
- 1:20:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it's actually perfect just to conclude the episode for me.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_00]: Ever since I've had this notebook, I noticed that going the bed, but first I have to kind of like, brain dump everything that's left over for the day, right?
- 1:20:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say we ate already, usually the alias are already in the bedroom and I'm in the kitchen.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_00]: I do this every night, I take my notebook,
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_00]: and I just write down what I was happy with today, what I did today, what I was excited for, what I didn't get due today, which will get transferred over to the next day.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's the brain dump of the day, and I feel like those are like the last few tabs that I have, that I just kind of like put on paper.
- 1:21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, put on paper.
- 1:21:06[SPEAKER_00]: And it actually makes me feel so good going
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a release.
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's all on paper because when I don't do it, I go to bed with those thoughts in my brain of my mind.
- 1:21:18[SPEAKER_00]: I can't see.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I did this.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_00]: And it's cool.
- 1:21:22[SPEAKER_00]: And even if it's like, I met up with someone, like, I would write it down on a piece of paper.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_00]: But like, if I don't do it, I would just have a lot of my brain.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like when I go to bed, I don't want to have that many things on my mind.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_02]: What about, do you write your to-do list?
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_02]: You also write your to-do list for the next day, right?
- 1:21:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because then I wake up the night.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the, it's one last thing I have to do the next day.
- 1:21:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I need to do that.
- 1:21:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, on each page that I open, I have my to-do list.
- 1:21:50[SPEAKER_00]: What do I call it?
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I call it like my tutorials and then I have my tasks right for the day and then on the opposite page on the left side, I have random thoughts throughout the day, sometimes, sometimes it's just in the evening like my brain dump that I was talking about and that is it doesn't have some days to hold page, some days it's only a few lines and it's okay.
- 1:22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I never forced myself to fill a page just because there is space.
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's I started using the same I copied yoni because I kind of like the system.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you started doing that too?
- 1:22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, even today.
- 1:22:23[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote my to-do list on my right side.
- 1:22:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_02]: And then I did the same thing like priorities and then tasks of things that if you do have time to do to do.
- 1:22:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then on the left page.
- 1:22:37[SPEAKER_02]: I wrote like random thoughts, and I've already wrote a bunch of things that I just ran through.
- 1:22:42[SPEAKER_00]: So how do you feel when you do that?
- 1:22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Does it feel forced the... No, this time, it's nice.
- 1:22:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's nice to think of it as random thoughts rather than morning pages or brain dump or something.
- 1:22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because random thoughts, the way that you framed it for me,
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_02]: is like you're allowed to just write one line right now and come back to a later and maybe like even a few hours even at the end of the day and write something else that's like completely unrelated to what you wrote before.
- 1:23:07[SPEAKER_02]: Worst is feeling like as to be a continuous like I'm just going to sit down right now and feel this whole page like maybe I don't have anything to feel it with right now.
- 1:23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we'll be only have one random thing to write and then in a couple hours this other random thing that I have or Like today I had a whole page to write easily and it just like came out And you said here one line that was a random thought for you today
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, today it was about like a trip that we had planned to go on that we can't go on anymore, so that's what I wrote about.
- 1:23:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:23:38[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, but I still have page left, I still have page left on my random thoughts.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I might talk about something later, but if I don't have it, some space left.
- 1:23:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but if I don't have anything to write, then it will just be what it is and then go to the next day.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I liked that because the way you framed it made me feel like I'm allowed to just like write one thing And not force and I think that was the big thing one day.
- 1:24:05[SPEAKER_02]: I have like literally two words on the day We shown the thing and that was yeah, and it does kind of feel like maybe you're wasting paper and then that can become a space where you write I don't know some other random things Where on each thing that doesn't get filled?
- 1:24:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so now this is like maybe I can like make a little drawing there.
- 1:24:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you could draw or something
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I loved to write how my tea or coffee is tasting like.
- 1:24:28[SPEAKER_02]: And what, which one you're drinking?
- 1:24:30[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a random thing from the day last week, it says, I woke up at 8.15 a.m. this morning and decided to work out in the evening.
- 1:24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's funny.
- 1:24:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was honest from my thoughts.
- 1:24:44[SPEAKER_00]: The plan that day was to work out that morning.
- 1:24:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I do.
- 1:24:47[SPEAKER_00]: You were like, yeah, I'm good.
- 1:24:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not.
- 1:24:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm more kind of evening.
- 1:24:50[SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, so I should do that with the tea or coffee.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm drinking because I'm always like trying a different coffee.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's such a taste person.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_02]: I am, yeah.
- 1:25:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, shout out to everybody who got a notebook and it was inspired by our analog episode.
- 1:25:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's really cool because people been DMing me like, yo, I've been trying to get into it or like I've been overthinking it, so that episode kind of made them, you know, it's, I get why people want to make it so perfect because it's like, oh, I'm writing it down and I can't erase it because most people now you write with pants.
- 1:25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, writing with a pencil, it would be like it would get smudged and stuff.
- 1:25:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:28[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't look as good.
- 1:25:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's like also like I don't know.
- 1:25:31[SPEAKER_00]: I just love writing.
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_00]: If I make a mistake, I love scratch like putting a line over it and just writing the less perfect your notebook is to me the more satisfying.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so keep keep going guys.
- 1:25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I think we're going to close that episode, but it was a great conversation.
- 1:25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was good.
- 1:25:51[SPEAKER_00]: In I feel like we haven't talked about this.
- 1:25:54[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:25:54[SPEAKER_00]: That way.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:25:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it definitely haven't.
- 1:25:57[SPEAKER_02]: A reminder for you guys to check out Headspace.
- 1:26:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's all linked in the description of this episode.
- 1:26:03[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and yeah, it's kind of the middle of the day here.
- 1:26:07[SPEAKER_02]: So we're just going to like continue with.
- 1:26:11[SPEAKER_02]: We'll work.
- 1:26:12[SPEAKER_00]: Continue with the day.
- 1:26:13[SPEAKER_02]: Have lunch.
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Have a workout.
- 1:26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Have a workout yet today.
- 1:26:15[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 1:26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, crazy, most of them earlier.
- 1:26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yesterday.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:26:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yesterday, we were locked up.
- 1:26:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we were inside because the wind and the snow looked crazy, but then we went outside.
- 1:26:32[SPEAKER_02]: It was weird because the snow was kind of like pieces of ice, like tiny little pebbles of ice.
- 1:26:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's your hurt.
- 1:26:37[SPEAKER_02]: So it kind of hurt your face because it would hit you, like it was like gentle flakes.
- 1:26:43[SPEAKER_02]: But New York is crazy.
- 1:26:45[SPEAKER_02]: What was yesterday was proof of why the city is so unique and so special is like if you haven't seen any videos of like people in New York yesterday everybody was out
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_02]: in the snow, there's snowboards, there's skis, a bunch of sleds, cool ski outfits, goggles and everything, yeah, yeah, yeah, apparently this snowboarder Sean White was in Central Park, snowboarding around like random areas, people were just out having a good time, it was cold, but everybody, I mean, you live here so you have
- 1:27:29[SPEAKER_00]: um yeah it was it was a great time like it really was some joy that I feel we all needed yeah those Instagram pages that are called like here in New York or whatever those pages funny about a little overseas or not here it may seem like sometimes it may seem like it's fake like is there really like that it's really like that on some things because those pages also post like crazy shit that's happening in New York just still like that

- 1:29:01[SPEAKER_02]: We did not know how to save by.
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know how to save by.
- 1:29:04[SPEAKER_00]: The outsholes are like my favorite part.
- 1:29:07[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, bye.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'll be as ready to go.
