101) Becky’s Digital Nomad Journey From Burned Out Corporate VP to Feminine Energy Coach · Digital Nomad Life Podcast

• 3:35
Speaker 1: Hey there and welcome to the Digital Nomad Life Podcast.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: I'm your host, Krista, also known as KristaBellaTravels on social media, and today I am in a studio in Bali, Indonesia, interviewing one of my clients.
• 3:48
Speaker 1: Her name is Becky Evans and I have been so blessed to witness her go from being a corporate I don't even know like full send in the corporate world, I think vice president right Vice president in your investment banking job, all the way to seeing her just live her ultimate best life, be so embodied in her authenticity, living a true life of freedom.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: And there's a lot that she had to do to go from where she was to where she is now.
• 4:21
Speaker 1: So today, in this episode, I want to just really dive into what it was like for her at the very beginning, when she was still in corporate and decided to sign on to working with me inside of my program, the Digital Nomad Life Academy.
• 4:34
Speaker 1: You'll hear about that later, but really this episode is not about the Digital Nomad Life Academy.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: It's about Becky and her amazing transformation story that I think will inspire you so much.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: If you are someone that has been working in corporate and wants to change your life, you will see that it doesn't have to be whatever way that it is for you right now, you can have a life of ultimate freedom and authenticity too.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: So with that intro, Becky, thanks so much for being here.
• 5:02
  Speaker 2: Thank you.
• 5:03
Speaker 2: It's actually already given me chills because I found you through your podcast and I'm like this feels like such a full circle moment.
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: So yeah, a little bit about me.
• 5:12
Speaker 2: So I am well.
• 5:16
Speaker 2: I was three years ago a corporate investment banker, like you've said.
• 5:20
Speaker 2: I was a vice president and I quit my job.
• 5:23
Speaker 2: Like you say, I've been on such a huge journey and I'm now an emotional energy coach.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: It's I think we were having a conversation before about how it's really difficult for me to explain what I do because I feel like there's so much there.
• 5:35
Speaker 2: Sometimes it's easier to explain like what I don't do.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: So I always say like I'm not a mindfulness coach, I'm not a therapist, but I am a emotional energy expert and a nervous system alchemist for the women who are ready to redefine what power means to them.
• 5:51
Speaker 2: So it's really the journey that I've been on is what I teach other people, and so it's been such a journey.
• 5:59
Speaker 1: I mean, I think, saying corporate investment banker to energy transformation I don't even know what you just said, but some kind of energy worker, healer.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: I feel like these two professions couldn't be more different, and one, of course, it's not just the profession itself that was so different, but your lifestyle is so, so different.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: Earlier we just had breakfast before we came onto this podcast.
• 6:26
Speaker 1: So when we're referring to earlier, that's what we're talking about.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: So earlier you made this comment where you were like I just would never want to be sitting in a glass office under this artificial lighting again and even though entrepreneurship is a journey, like I wouldn't have it any other way.
• 6:41
Speaker 1: So entrepreneurship is a journey and I want to talk about what the journey was.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: But can you just give the listeners a taste of what your lifestyle is like and how it's not the glass office building anymore.
• 6:55
  Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: So.
• 6:56
Speaker 2: My lifestyle is so unpredictable, Like every month, every week, every year, like there's a tantra course, and it's just crazy because I then switch right.
• 7:23
Speaker 2: I'm then in like I also live in this hut in Scotland.
• 7:27
Speaker 2: I say hut, it's like a beautiful cabin, like think of like a ski chalet type vibes.
• 7:33
Speaker 2: Oh, I'm thinking like Disney princess kind of vibes and it's so like nourishing and grounding.
• 7:41
Speaker 2: And I live in nature with my fiance and when we're in corporate we were drinking and stressed and burnt out constantly.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: And now we're like sober, waking up, thinking what do we want to do today?
• 7:53
Speaker 2: Do we want to walk around the lock?
• 7:55
Speaker 2: And lock means lake, by the way in.
• 7:57
  Speaker 2: Scotland.
• 7:59
Speaker 2: Do we want to walk around the lock?
• 8:00
Speaker 2: Do we want to go to the beach and still having that powerful masculine want and need to work like?
• 8:08
Speaker 2: I love my work.
• 8:09
Speaker 2: I'm so passionate about it, but I can actually wake up and not do it out of scarcity.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: I do it because it's something that I love okay, something that I just want to clarify for the listeners, in case anyone's new here to this podcast or to talking about energy, which I'm fully on board with.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: So you mentioned this masculine way, and I think masculine and feminine energy is probably a concept that's going to come up a lot in our conversation today, because I think, when we think about the corporate investment banking vibes, not that only men can do it, it's not about whether it's a male or female job, it's about the energy of the job.
• 8:45
Speaker 1: But, becky, can you, in your own words, just describe to the listeners what you mean about masculine versus feminine energy?
• 8:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 8:52
Speaker 2: So the best way I like to describe it is like in a really visual sense, like if you close your eyes and imagine that you we all have, like this inner man and this inner woman, and your man is the person who is building the house, he's organizing, he's getting shit done and he is the one that really helps you drive forward in what, what you want to do in life.
• 9:14
Speaker 2: Like he is the organizer organizer.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Now, the trouble is is he usually takes the front seat too often and what happens is when he is always driving, what you're doing with that you know, organizations, to-do list I'm going to wake up, I'm going to work out go, go, go, go go.
• 9:30
Speaker 2: When he is in the driving seat too often that is what tends to lead to burnout, because you've also inside of you, you've got this woman and she flows and she wakes up and she's spontaneous and she doesn't need that element of control because she goes with the flow.
• 9:48
Speaker 2: Right, that's the best way I can describe what your inner woman does.
• 9:50
Speaker 2: So for me, when I was in corporate, I was just constantly in that go, go, go, that go.
• 9:56
Speaker 2: That's my masculine energy.
• 9:57
Speaker 2: So it's been a real journey where actually, I probably tipped a bit too much the other side into.
• 10:03
Speaker 2: I'm going to flow and love and light and just, you know, really enjoy life and that's okay too.
• 10:09
Speaker 2: But we can enjoy life whilst they're both in the driving seat.
• 10:13
Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I resonate with that so much.
• 10:15
Speaker 1: I was just having a memory of myself when I was in corporate, when I would be like going to work and just doing the routine thing every day, waking up not when my body said so but when my alarm said so, and just really feeling like I had a problem with that and feeling like I had this version of myself who just wanted to be a hippie on the beach and I was like where is she Like she should be having flowers in her hair and dancing in the beach?
• 10:39
Speaker 1: And I was like where is she, like she should be having flowers in her hair and dancing in the rain, and like I just knew that that was a part of me that had been so suppressed.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: And then I moved to Thailand and then I was kind of like only the hippie dancing in the rain with flowers in my hair, which was so beautiful.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: But then I was like wait, we need to.
• 10:53
Speaker 1: I feel like this masculine, feminine energy balance is a constant thing that we need to be always checking in with.
• 11:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, and do you mind if I just add to that as well.
• 11:03
Speaker 2: I also feel like we can think it's circumstantial.
• 11:07
Speaker 2: So some people might be listening to this and they'll think well, of course my feminine can't lead because I have to get up for work and I have to do this.
• 11:15
Speaker 2: So this is why we talk about energy, because it's not your physical setting or your circumstances like.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: It's about finding that balance in your own circumstance, because it shouldn't matter, like, where you are.
• 11:29
Speaker 2: If you can find that, if you can alchemize your energy internally wherever you are, then that's going to drive you where you want to go, whether that is traveling or living in a cabin in Scotland or whatever that is.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: It's finding that place of peace in yourself first, so that you can go off and do the things that matter to you the most.
• 11:49
Speaker 2: So beautiful I love that.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: So you feel like today you have this nice balance of your masculine and feminine energy you're like running your business, but you you're also, you know, saying yes to you're on a month solo trip in Indonesia right now, in Bali, but then you're going to go back to your home in Scotland and be with your fiance and be a bit more grounded and work on your business, and so I love that you've achieved this balance and, just honestly, I feel like this lifestyle is such goals.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: You're not saying that you're living out of your suitcase all the time, you're just kind of doing what feels good in the moment.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: So it obviously wasn't always this way, and I would love to turn back the clock for the listeners and talk about just what was the situation that you were in that led you make um a big decision to change something.
• 12:41
Speaker 2: So, yes, yeah, how far do we go back?
• 12:45
Speaker 2: Um, I guess I'll sort of start back right at the beginning for me.
• 12:50
Speaker 2: So I lost my brother when I was nine and that was such a huge part of my life, like I had so much love, I was very lucky, um, but then the night that we lost him on New Year's Eve, everything around me changed and I had to get hyper aware of people's emotions.
• 13:07
Speaker 2: How did my mum deal with the trauma of losing a child?
• 13:11
Speaker 2: How did my other brother and sister deal with that?
• 13:14
Speaker 2: And this is where I already started to become passionate about other people's emotions, but I really left mine to one side.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: So I always say I was in a state of freeze for 18 years because my coping mechanism was working through, pushing through, trying to help everybody else but myself and my fiance.
• 13:36
Speaker 2: He's ex-military, he has experienced PTSD and depression and lots of health concerns himself, and I found myself a few years ago working, working, working, super successful on the outside.
• 13:51
Speaker 2: You know I had it all, like I had the money, I had the car, I had the house, but I was drinking, I was suppressing, I was was internalizing, I wasn't really being honest with myself and what happened one night was like you just give me goosebumps talking about it.
• 14:07
Speaker 2: I had a really severe panic attack, essentially.
• 14:11
Speaker 2: So I was making pasta and like everything was normal.
• 14:14
Speaker 2: It was a Monday night, so I was, of course, hungover because I was drinking a lot.
• 14:19
Speaker 2: Then I was no, I wasn't an alcoholic, I was a fun party girl, but there was definitely a problem with alcohol and me and my partner started having like our normal you know.
• 14:29
Speaker 2: Oh, it's Monday, we're hungover, we've got to start work again, like all of those sort of feelings.
• 14:33
Speaker 2: And suddenly it's almost like the fear of 18 years just came up to my head in one moment and I just like started shaking.
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: I couldn't breathe.
• 14:45
Speaker 2: I was like, am I having a heart attack?
• 14:47
Speaker 2: Like I really feel like I'm going to die, which was such a huge contrast to, during that day, displaying myself as this vice president, boss, who can talk to like the highest women you know in society or whatever you want to call it.
• 15:01
Speaker 2: So I found myself on the bathroom floor like all of my hands for anyone who's listening, who can't watch I had like claw hands and my partner just picked me up and I remember inside I was almost laughing a little bit at myself, like what the hell is happening?
• 15:17
Speaker 2: Like this sort of feels like a spiritual awakening, but also the most terrifying thing of my life.
• 15:22
Speaker 2: So we made the decision to stop drinking alcohol.
• 15:26
Speaker 2: That was a really pivotal part for me.
• 15:28
Speaker 2: Um, and just all of these synchronicities started happening.
• 15:32
Speaker 2: Like I dabbled a bit of plant medicine which we also spoke about earlier and we can go into that more if we want to.
• 15:37
Speaker 2: Um, but that wasn't my whole story.
• 15:39
Speaker 2: So we quit drinking, had a plant medicine journey.
• 15:43
Speaker 2: I came across you, which I feel like was just meant to be and meant to happen, via the podcast.
• 15:49
  Speaker 2: Yes, so cool.
• 15:50
Speaker 2: Yes, we got me and my fiance got engaged.
• 15:53
Speaker 2: So I can actually tell the story if you don't mind going into it yeah, um.
• 15:58
Speaker 2: So this whole panic attack thing happened.
• 16:01
Speaker 2: I think it was in August, and then in September we went on holiday to Portugal.
• 16:07
Speaker 2: So everything was very raw and fresh and I was like I don't know what's going on with my life.
• 16:12
Speaker 2: And he proposed and I freaked out.
• 16:16
Speaker 2: I was like this is the worst time to propose.
• 16:19
Speaker 2: It was like a resounding no, like we laugh about it now.
• 16:23
Speaker 2: And I really had to be honest with myself and feel into it.
• 16:26
Speaker 2: And the next day I said to him like I love, like I knew he was my one and that I loved him so much and your podcast came into it quite a lot.
• 16:35
Speaker 2: Because I was like well, what is possible for me?
• 16:38
Speaker 2: Like this is a wake-up call, like I need to change my life.
• 16:41
Speaker 2: And there's a girl on Spotify who's telling me that it's possible.
• 16:45
Speaker 2: And I said yes to the engagement and I wanted to know exactly how I could work with you.
• 16:54
Speaker 2: I went to one of your workshops and I was just like yes, like this is the thing for me.
• 16:59
Speaker 2: I don't know if it's gonna work, I don't know, and what workshops?
• 17:00
Speaker 2: And I was just like yes, like this is the thing for me, I don't know if it's going to work, I don't know.
• 17:01
Speaker 2: And what is it going to work anyway?
• 17:03
Speaker 2: Like we limit ourselves when we think what do we want?
• 17:06
Speaker 2: Because there's always so much more possibility than that.
• 17:10
Speaker 1: I just want to pause you there, did you have any idea of what you wanted?
• 17:14
Speaker 1: Did you know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
• 17:16
Speaker 1: If so, did you know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
• 17:17
Speaker 1: If so, did you know what you wanted to do for your future business Like?
• 17:21
Speaker 1: Did you know what lifestyle you wanted?
• 17:22
  Speaker 1: What were?
• 17:30
Speaker 2: you desiring at the time, I just knew that I needed to replace my income.
• 17:32
Speaker 2: I never even associated what you do with being a business like learning about business and entrepreneurship.
• 17:38
Speaker 2: I never made that cognitive connection until I was inside and I was like, okay, this is really cool, like I'm going to learn how to build a business, and I'm very like heart led, like I just went in with my heart, not needing to know what to do or what it entails or what is the specifics, because I just felt that connection with you, even when I was in that sort of numb state and and I just I just knew that it felt right.
• 18:04
Speaker 2: So, yeah, to answer your question, I didn't really have any idea what was going to happen, but I just trusted you and trusted that, well, this person can do it, so why can't I?
• 18:17
Speaker 1: for sure she's the blueprint.
• 18:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my gosh.
• 18:20
Speaker 1: Thanks for pointing out that you actually didn't know what you wanted.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: You just knew you wanted a change.
• 18:25
Speaker 1: For me, that is like you know, I have my marketing right, where I'm like telling people life is any kind of life that you want as possible, and I do think that there's this like identity piece that people really need.
• 18:41
Speaker 1: If they're not, I say, oh, it's, so you can start an online business.
• 18:45
Speaker 1: So many people don't ever see themselves as entrepreneurs because society has told them that they belong in this little box and that they need to be doing things in a specific way.
• 18:54
Speaker 1: So I do really love to lead with the whole like you can just have the lifestyle that you want and I'll just show you the path.
• 19:01
Speaker 1: But for anyone listening, the path is entrepreneurship.
• 19:04
Speaker 1: But the truth is that the way that I teach it, you don't actually even need to.
• 19:09
Speaker 1: Really you don't need to know anything to get started.
• 19:12
Speaker 1: I take you through, I go from step zero to step .05 to step one and just really get you started.
• 19:20
Speaker 1: So thanks for pointing that out.
• 19:22
  Speaker 1: It's okay, okay.
• 19:23
Speaker 1: So you came across the podcast.
• 19:24
Speaker 1: You came to the workshop which, by the way, I think, across the podcast, you came to the workshop which, by the way, I think that workshop that you did come to is linked in the show notes.
• 19:31
Speaker 1: It's called how to get started as a digital nomad.
• 19:33
Speaker 1: Highly, highly, highly recommend watching it.
• 19:36
Speaker 1: I don't know if you have any yeah, I do.
• 19:38
Speaker 2: You know it feels like such a long time ago now and so much has happened, but I just remember seeing you have like a little flower in your hair and you'd rented out a villa in Bali and I was like that's so cool, like and and I've done that this week like for my program I rented out like a bougie hotel in Bali and I was like I'm doing what I watched Krista do on the workshop, like so cool, I'm dying.
• 20:04
  Speaker 2: I'm literally.
• 20:04
Speaker 2: I'm like full body goosebumps right now.
• 20:06
Speaker 1: It is so cool to see people like go through the program, do the work and then come out the other side just like being exactly what you didn't even know that you wanted, probably because you didn't even know that you could have it be as good as it is now.
• 20:18
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 20:19
Speaker 1: So, but we're still back in time in the story and so, basically, you've come across the podcast, you watched the workshop, you said yes.
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: Then what happened?
• 20:31
Speaker 2: so I said yes, we did our career assessment, so for you can probably obviously describe what your career assessment is better no, I want to hear you describe it.
• 20:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, I talk about it all the time was it was a very methodical way to explore all of the skills that you have available.
• 20:51
Speaker 2: So you go through so many different things and so many different avenues and it was really fascinating to sort of bring those things up from your subconscious into your conscious mind, because I think so frequently people can think, oh, that's not for me, I'm not good enough.
• 21:06
Speaker 2: I'm really good at my corporate role but I'm not good at entrepreneurship, for example.
• 21:11
Speaker 2: So it really helped me to understand that anything is possible and I've got the skill sets to make that happen.
• 21:19
Speaker 2: And I think on our first call I don't know if you still do this, but we, we get together and you're like, you throw out ideas of what you see, the vision right, and something that you said to me was oh, you could be a emotional intelligence coach.
• 21:33
Speaker 2: And I remember in my head thinking what is this?
• 21:37
Speaker 2: What is she on about?
• 21:38
Speaker 2: I was like there's no way that I could be an emotional intelligence coach.
• 21:42
Speaker 2: And it's so funny because now I'm an emotional energy coach and that is what I do all of these years later.
• 21:48
Speaker 2: But I had to go through lots of internal work, lots of healing to take that full circle and to that wasn't a circle but to land back here.
• 21:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if that answers your question.
• 22:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I just want to elaborate on that a little bit, because I think whoever's listening, I think my podcast does tend to attract people that they're really interested in the lifestyle, but they don't know quite how to go from where they are now to whatever their dream lifestyle is.
• 22:16
Speaker 1: And I think what we just touched upon is it's because most people either they don't see themselves as an entrepreneur or even if they do, they don't know what business they want to create.
• 22:24
Speaker 1: They do, they don't know what business they want to create.
• 22:30
Speaker 1: So my signature service is this career assessment and, yeah, thanks for calling it methodical.
• 22:33
Speaker 1: It is, and it's a system that I've done with like hundreds of people and it just really I have a lot of stories like this where I suggest something to someone and they're like no, no, no, no, I couldn't.
• 22:43
Speaker 1: And then two years later they're like Krista, guess what you called it?
• 22:48
Speaker 1: And it's because, yeah, there is a huge identity piece that comes with deciding to start a very specific kind of business.
• 22:58
Speaker 1: You need to feel that you're capable of those things, and sometimes we're so close to what our skill set really is that we can't see it as being special.
• 23:07
Speaker 1: It's like so second nature to us.
• 23:09
Speaker 1: But the best kind of businesses are things where you're doing something that's second nature to you.
• 23:15
Speaker 1: Then you're in flow and then you get to do something that just like feels really good and easy and flowy.
• 23:22
Speaker 1: So, yeah, I remember that call with you and reading the story about your brother and about quitting alcohol and just being so impressed by your life journey and being like we can make money off of this.
• 23:37
Speaker 1: Not to be like money focused, but I mean well, you needed to replace your income is the truth of the matter, and the truth of the matter is that money is a huge part of freedom.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: If we don't have financial freedom, we really don't have access to many other freedoms either.
• 23:56
Speaker 1: So for anyone listening, I will be not just looking at your skills.
• 24:01
Speaker 1: Obviously, becky, you could have gone into probably anything in the finance industry.
• 24:06
Speaker 1: You could have become a financial coach.
• 24:09
Speaker 1: But yeah, what stood out to me on that career assessment was just your personal journey and obviously you've been able to make something out of that now.
• 24:18
Speaker 1: But before we get to you know, I know you're like running group programs and you've just really gone all in on this career.
• 24:25
Speaker 1: So when you say you were resisting the idea first, can you tell me a little bit about what happened from like the resistance to the acceptance.
• 24:38
Speaker 1: How did you go from there to?
• 24:39
  Speaker 2: there.
• 24:39
Speaker 2: I think and this is a lot of like what I teach now obviously, a lot of the things that we teach is the transformation that we've gone through.
• 24:48
Speaker 2: So and you, of course, helped me kickstart all of that.
• 24:51
Speaker 2: So I think the key word that you use is identity.
• 24:54
Speaker 2: So our ego mind is so attached to the stories that we tell ourselves and for me at that time, the story that I was telling myself was I'm a vice president.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: Right, I carried so much pride around having this role and this authority.
• 25:12
Speaker 2: I never would have admitted that at the time because I always thought I was really humble.
• 25:16
Speaker 2: You can have pride and be humble at the same time and you know.
• 25:28
Speaker 2: I've always been this fun party girl, like emotional intelligence sounds boring to me, and because at that time I was so in my fight and flight you know I was rushing around and I was that masculine that we spoke about I think I had to really go through a deep process of unlearning all of these barriers I had built up for myself and all of these emotional programmings around the pride, around maybe the shame that society attaches to healing and empowerment sometimes.
• 25:56
Speaker 2: So for me the journey was a real unlearning and undoing of the ego and I sort of had to strip it all back first before I could start building back up, all right.
• 26:11
Speaker 1: So, um, do you have any like I don't know?
• 26:14
Speaker 1: I feel like maybe for the listeners they're like, okay, there was an identity shift, but were there any practical things that you did in there?
• 26:22
Speaker 1: Or, um, maybe it's stuff that you do with your clients now Like what?
• 26:26
Speaker 1: Because, okay, I know that I call it shadow work.
• 26:30
Speaker 1: I think there's different names for it Inner work, subconscious healing, identity shifting, like you can do.
• 26:37
Speaker 1: Plant medicine, you can.
• 26:39
  Speaker 1: There's so meditation.
• 26:40
Speaker 1: There's so many different modalities to change your identity.
• 26:46
Speaker 1: But, yeah, I think I'm curious, like the story if there's, if there's anything in there that you would feel comfortable sharing about how you made this identity shift.
• 26:54
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 26:55
Speaker 2: So for me, like when I say I stripped everything back and this is not what I teach people to do, like I definitely took the harder route of I quit my job, I moved countries, I sold everything that I owned and I went traveling around South America.
• 27:10
Speaker 2: When I did this, I trained in subconscious healing and I think we spoke about this story earlier where you actually introduced me a little bit to subconscious healing, where I went back into my inner child, the younger version of me, and saw that there was a little girl in there who was scared and alone and by herself, and that was the part of me that needed empowering, that needed healing.
• 27:34
Speaker 2: So to go forward again to when I was in Peru, I wanted to explore all of my subconscious more.
• 27:41
Speaker 2: I wanted to heal what was really at the core.
• 27:44
Speaker 2: I always say healing's like an onion.
• 27:46
Speaker 2: It's sort of like you have your core and then you have all of your layers outside of it.
• 27:51
Speaker 2: So many layers, yeah, so many layers.
• 27:53
Speaker 2: So when I was in Peru, I trained in subconscious healing.
• 27:56
Speaker 2: That's actually how I started my business.
• 27:58
Speaker 2: I realized I had a lot of fear around money as well.
• 28:02
Speaker 2: So my intention changed from oh, I need to replace my income to.
• 28:09
Speaker 2: For me to replace my income, I need my only focus to be helping people and healing myself, like those are the two things I need to focus on, because where your passion lies, that's where everything else just becomes seamless and easy.
• 28:23
Speaker 2: So I was in Peru, I did my subconscious healing training.
• 28:26
Speaker 2: I came back and my world just exploded again for the next time.
• 28:32
Speaker 2: So my partner's back went and when I say went, he was in hospital for three days.
• 28:39
Speaker 2: He um, I was having to bed bath him, we were in our hut and it all needed like restoring.
• 28:46
Speaker 2: So just like, picture this right, I'm in my hut, there's boxes all around me, um, my fiance can't walk up the stairs he's 16 stone so I can't carry him and I'm doing subconscious healing sessions for clients like there was just so much disparity and just lots of different things going on.
• 29:05
Speaker 2: But for me, the wake-up call in that moment was okay, I've healed so much of my like inner stuff.
• 29:12
Speaker 2: I've been this like spiritual goddess with the bigger.
• 29:15
Speaker 2: Oh, I'm still wearing big rings, I'm still.
• 29:19
Speaker 2: There's still part of that there.
• 29:20
Speaker 2: But I had to learn how to heal in the moment of trigger in real life, because life, life's like stuff happens, especially in your business.
• 29:30
Speaker 2: There are going to be times where it feels really high and there's going to be times where it feels really low.
• 29:35
Speaker 2: And what the the inner work is learning how to have the capacity to hold it all.
• 29:40
Speaker 2: Because, yeah, you're going to have those heights, you're going to have those lows and it's making them the highs feel less high and the lows feel less low, so that you can easily swim through and navigate all of those different things.
• 29:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, being able to regulate yourself through the changing tides of life, I think, is a key aspect of entrepreneurship which I love.
• 30:00
Speaker 1: I talk about it quite a bit in this podcast and obviously, inside of the Digital Nomad Life Academy.
• 30:06
Speaker 1: It's that entrepreneurship is such a vehicle for personal growth.
• 30:11
Speaker 1: And I think, to contrast this story now, of like back when you were in the glass tower investment banking and just like having your ego hold onto this title, it's like we can just get so lost in the flow of what society has told us to do Do this, do this, do this Now, do this, now, do this.
• 30:33
Speaker 1: Okay, now it's time to get married.
• 30:34
Speaker 1: Okay, now it's time to have a baby.
• 30:35
Speaker 1: Okay, now it's time to put all your money into an investment Okay, then you can retire and we just, I think for a lot of people, as long as we are following the steps that society has laid out for us, we are quote growing, but then things like a random panic attack on a Sunday night can happen and just sweep you off your feet and just there are some devastating statistics out there about how many people are on antidepressants and are suffering with anxiety.
• 31:10
Speaker 1: Antidepressants and are suffering with anxiety, and I think that it is because of this we are not taught, and we're not given enough opportunities either, to figure out how, on our own, to grow and regulate through the changing ties of life.
• 31:20
Speaker 1: Life isn't a step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step-by-step, step by step by step by step by step by step process.
• 31:25
Speaker 1: Shit happens and things are unpredictable, like you never know what a pandemic taught us all that things that we thought were so predictable are actually not, and you know, health issues can happen and yeah, I really feel like entrepreneurship something I'm so grateful for is it teaches resilience and just yeah, is it teaches resilience and just yeah, resilience, mental fortitude, confidence in yourself, the fact that you are capable of overcoming challenges, facing rejection.
• 31:59
  Speaker 1: It's just like such a.
• 31:59
  Speaker 1: It's such a journey.
• 32:00
  Speaker 1: It's such a journey.
• 32:01
Speaker 1: Are you open, if I add?
• 32:02
Speaker 2: something as well, please.
• 32:03
Speaker 2: I also find that when you become an entrepreneur and you realize, okay, I need the strategy, I need that strategy, but then I also need to do the inner work.
• 32:13
Speaker 2: They're both necessary and for the inner work side of things it can get.
• 32:19
Speaker 2: So people can so easily get hung up on one modality, like you need to do breath work, you need to do somatics like this is the one way to do it.
• 32:27
Speaker 2: But I feel like that really diminishes how multi-faceted we are.
• 32:32
Speaker 2: So I guess it's sort of like going a little bit back to your earlier question around like what modalities do you use?
• 32:39
Speaker 2: So many different things?
• 32:41
Speaker 2: I mean, the main thing I teach.
• 32:42
Speaker 2: So I do teach breath work, I do teach somatics, I do teach transform your energy in the moment of trigger, but also how to listen to the wisdom of your body.
• 32:52
Speaker 2: So often we are in our head and this goes back to the masculine right we're overthinking, we're working out what is our next step and we lose touch of our intuition.
• 33:00
Speaker 2: So part of the work is okay.
• 33:03
Speaker 2: How can I release those layers of the work is okay.
• 33:05
Speaker 2: How can I release those layers of the onion, so to speak?
• 33:07
Speaker 2: Come back to my intuition and understand what modality works for me.
• 33:12
Speaker 2: So, for example, in my journey I tried something called TRE trauma release exercises.
• 33:18
Speaker 2: So what that is is essentially putting your body in a certain position and you shake.
• 33:23
Speaker 2: You shake out trauma energy.
• 33:25
Speaker 2: It's incredible for anyone who's not tried it.
• 33:27
Speaker 2: At the beginning of my healing journey, or empowerment journey, I really rejected tiari.
• 33:33
Speaker 2: My body was like no, this isn't the time for it, this isn't the modality for me.
• 33:37
Speaker 2: But I kept trying.
• 33:38
Speaker 2: I kept learning how to listen to my body.
• 33:40
Speaker 2: One day I did it and I had such a huge breakthrough and I was like this is amazing.
• 33:45
Speaker 2: So I guess it's really learning not how to do the step-by-step as well, but learning how, what modalities do work for you in different phases of your life, because you're constantly chopping, you're constantly changing.
• 33:57
Speaker 2: So, yeah, love that.
• 34:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think at least the way that I teach and approach business.
• 34:04
Speaker 1: So kind of going back to what we were saying earlier about how you didn't actually even know what business you wanted to create at first.
• 34:11
Speaker 1: To me, the way that I teach business, I'm like it doesn't matter.
• 34:16
Speaker 1: We actually just need to come up with some business idea which can be.
• 34:21
Speaker 1: All the business ideas that I hand to people are super simple.
• 34:24
Speaker 1: It's like a small service provider business which is easy to market if you get your messaging right and you can get word of mouth clients and it's just like you don't need a big marketing machine.
• 34:34
Speaker 1: You don't need a machine to run a business like this.
• 34:36
Speaker 1: So some of my clients they're more like you, becky, where they have some really profound life experience and they're able to transmute that into a business and then other people not so much, and it's more just like learning a skill.
• 34:52
Speaker 1: As long as you have one business idea to hook onto, you can use that business idea as a vehicle to learn entrepreneurship and then, once you understand entrepreneurship and how it really is, this kind of like holistic way of being, it's almost an identity.
• 35:07
Speaker 1: I feel like when I meet people they say that they're an entrepreneur, I don't care what kind of business they have.
• 35:12
Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, you get it Like we're somehow on the same wavelength because we're going through very similar challenges and similar life experiences and growing so much.
• 35:21
Speaker 1: So yeah, for anybody listening, if you don't have a business idea yet, come to me, I will either give you the one that's like your life business or I'll give you a simple one to start off with.
• 35:32
Speaker 1: Either way, really, an identity shift of becoming an entrepreneur needs to happen, and then that's when you like really set yourself free.
• 35:41
Speaker 1: So this is something I say all the time.
• 35:44
Speaker 1: I put myself in a little bit of a vulnerable position because I hope you agree with me, becky, but I feel like once you build your first business and you understand and you really do step into that identity of being an entrepreneur, then you're actually free to start another business and it's like the barrier to entry is so much lower because you've kind of already gone through those growth edges to become the person that you need to be.
• 36:08
Speaker 1: What do you think?
• 36:11
  Speaker 2: 100% agree, you're in luck.
• 36:13
  Speaker 2: No, I'm joking.
• 36:14
  Speaker 2: Um, I don't think it's only possible, I think it's.
• 36:18
Speaker 2: It's necessary to pivot, to change, because you are changing and you are evolving as a human, like when the whole purpose of becoming an entrepreneur is to not stay the same, is to grow and evolve and change, and that means you are going to change as a person.
• 36:36
Speaker 2: So for me, the way that that looked is, like I said, I completely rejected the emotional intelligence stuff.
• 36:41
Speaker 2: At the beginning, I was like I'm going to be a.
• 36:44
Speaker 2: I can't even remember what it was, it always makes me laugh.
• 36:47
Speaker 2: Now I was like I'm going to be a.
• 36:48
Speaker 2: I can't even remember what it was, it always makes me laugh.
• 36:50
Speaker 2: Now I was like I'm going to be a consultant, like, yeah, I can't even remember what it was.
• 36:52
Speaker 2: It was like something to do with the strategy of helping people within their businesses.
• 36:58
Speaker 2: It was something around that.
• 36:59
Speaker 2: And then I pivoted, like I said to this, like thinking I was a spiritual goddess queen.
• 37:04
Speaker 2: And then when I got home, I was like, oh, actually, now I'm at this point in my life where I've had the panic attacks and I've had the anxiety.
• 37:12
Speaker 2: I can help people with anxiety.
• 37:14
Speaker 2: So I then became an anxiety coach and now I'm even further developed in who I am as a person, that now energy is what I'm passionate about, so that's what I teach.
• 37:25
Speaker 2: But you build the blocks, like every evolution.
• 37:27
Speaker 2: It's an evolution because you have that last version of yourself, like I couldn't help people with energy if I hadn't helped people with anxiety.
• 37:34
Speaker 2: So I feel like you don't just want to stay in one space and be like this is the one thing I am, this is where I am forever.
• 37:42
Speaker 2: Like that is the rigidity of the masculine and the feminine is flowing and building and growing and evolving and that is your biggest gift and it's going to feel like.
• 37:52
Speaker 2: It's going to feel like at times you're like, oh, do I have to change again?
• 37:55
Speaker 2: But that's the journey.
• 37:57
Speaker 2: Like that is the beautiful part.
• 37:58
Speaker 2: Is that next change is you coming into your expansion after a contraction?
• 38:03
Speaker 1: so oh my gosh, thanks.
• 38:05
Speaker 1: I feel like that was exactly what I personally needed to hear.
• 38:08
Speaker 1: I kind of told you earlier over breakfast that I have just been feeling a bit of an identity shift within myself for this business and if I didn't have such great SEO for the keyword digital nomad, I would probably ditch the word digital nomad actually, because I don't really feel super resonant with, like build this business so that you can travel all the time.
• 38:30
Speaker 1: I love traveling for a few months a year, but also, like I love being grounded and I just love like waking up when I want to wake up and being able to spend time with my family or take my dog to the sunset every single day without having to like answer to anybody.
• 38:46
Speaker 1: I just love all that and.
• 38:48
Speaker 1: But I have this thing inside of me where I'm like but the digital nomad keyword is such good marketing, but it is, it's just.
• 39:03
Speaker 1: I am also so grateful that, like I can just evolve my messaging a little bit and just keep making social media content and reels and marketing material that just speaks to someone that maybe doesn't need to be traveling all the time but just wants more freedom.
• 39:19
Speaker 1: I can do that because I have my, it's my business.
• 39:22
Speaker 1: I don't have to ask anybody for permission.
• 39:24
Speaker 1: I can just do what feels right.
• 39:27
Speaker 1: And you made such a cool comment earlier about how the universe provides when you need it or when you're ready to receive, like you made some comment about like affording coming to Bali and then, boom, you just got a client.
• 39:43
Speaker 1: Could you speak a little bit about this alignment in messaging and how it is marketing?
• 39:50
Speaker 1: Does that question make sense?
• 39:53
  Speaker 1: No, okay.
• 39:55
Speaker 1: I guess it's like showing up authentically and it bringing in the correct people.
• 39:58
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes.
• 39:59
Speaker 1: Okay, I guess it's like showing up authentically and it bringing in the correct people.
• 40:01
Speaker 2: Yes yes, yes, yes, okay.
• 40:02
Speaker 2: So when I speak about energy, right, our energy, our level of consciousness, which means our level of awareness for those of you who haven't heard that term before is really fixed and determined by our emotions, right?
• 40:19
Speaker 2: So I'm so passionate about emotions so frequently, when we are in this energy of want right, I want more money it can actually be very sort of like repelling to the universe.
• 40:32
Speaker 2: So I'll use myself as the example I want more money to come to bali.
• 40:36
Speaker 2: That want was signaling to the universe I do not have this thing already.
• 40:43
Speaker 2: So for me and this all comes into manifestation but, yes, want things, yes, be clear on your want, but also surrender to the outcome, surrender to the fact that there might be something even bigger than that.
• 40:55
Speaker 2: So, for me, when I did, like, the energy work of essentially what that means is being open to whatever possibility could come to me, I had a one-to-one client land in like that, well, you know, I stopped wanting and yearning and being like please give this to me, because that was signaling that I'm not abundant and I don't have everything that I have already.
• 41:17
Speaker 2: So that energy shift, that shift in mindset, almost brought her into me and we had our first call the other day and we're doing the most incredible work together and it just, it just reminds me of the power of energy work.
• 41:33
Speaker 1: Isn't it so cool, too, that you get paid for this?
• 41:35
Speaker 1: Yes, that's my favorite thing about my business.
• 41:39
Speaker 1: Like, like right now, doing this podcast episode with you, like I'm having so much fun, it's so, literally, it's just filling my heart with so much joy today, like just being able to talk to you and meeting you IRL.
• 41:52
Speaker 1: But like I'm like, yeah, this is, this is my business, like this is I'm not getting paid for this exact moment, but like I will eventually in some form, and I just think that's also such a special thing about having your own business, too is like you get to get paid for your gifts, not for what someone else is telling you to do.
• 42:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it's also like knowing your worth.
• 42:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it's also like knowing your worth.
• 42:37
Speaker 2: When I started my business, I wasn't necessarily charging as much energy as it was taking me Like I was coming out of those sessions like absolutely exhausted and I couldn't do anything for the rest of my day because I wasn't having the correct energy exchange there.
• 42:42
Speaker 2: And when I say energy in this context, I mean money, like money is energy, money is energy.
• 42:44
Speaker 2: And when people pay you for your worth, your output, your energy, your exchange is so much better.
• 42:46
Speaker 2: So it's like, yeah, you're getting paid for stuff you're passionate about, and that is absolutely incredible.
• 42:51
Speaker 2: But also you deserve it because you are worth that and you are worth being paid for what you're talented at, and that's such a huge mindset energy shift in itself.
• 42:59
Speaker 2: you are worth that and you are worth being paid for what you're talented at and that's such a huge mindset energy shift in itself.
• 43:08
Speaker 1: I think, is putting a monetary value on your gifts, or just.
• 43:10
Speaker 1: I mean, the value can change too and your gifts grow and evolve.
• 43:13
Speaker 1: And but yeah, I do think it's just like humans are all so unique.
• 43:18
Speaker 1: Right, we're all a little snowflake, we're all so different, and that's not what we're taught in the corporate world.
• 43:24
Speaker 1: Actually, In the corporate world, we're taught no, no, no, you're all doing this and you all better live up to this specific expectation, and if you don't, then it's because you're less than or whatever.
• 43:36
Speaker 1: But humans are really all so unique and I think we should all be doing unique things.
• 43:43
Speaker 1: For some people, being an employee is like great, but I can almost guarantee that anybody that's still listening to this podcast was probably never meant to be an employee.
• 43:53
Speaker 1: Probably anybody listening to this podcast is someone who's like a free thinker, is wanting to be inspired, is wanting to do something different with their life, cares about freedom, cares about authenticity, is passionate and maybe just feels a little bit suppressed.
• 44:07
Speaker 1: So, becky, I think both you and I could really help someone who's listening to this episode.
• 44:14
Speaker 1: So I'm curious to hear you first, like, what is the way that you are currently working with people and if anybody listening is interested in just hearing more.
• 44:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, can you just tell us a little bit about your current business?
• 44:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, so there's a few ways that we can work together.
• 44:30
Speaker 2: I'm actually just about to release a seven day mini course.
• 44:34
Speaker 2: It's called Empowered AF day mini course.
• 44:42
Speaker 2: It's called empowered af.
• 44:43
Speaker 2: So this is really.
• 44:43
Speaker 2: It's designed to give people the foundational toolkit as to how to shift their energy, as to how to shift from that burnout to that breakthrough.
• 44:49
Speaker 2: So every day there's sort of 15 minute videos.
• 44:52
Speaker 2: It's really digestible, you can listen to it in your own time and it's a price that's cheaper than a takeaway.
• 44:57
Speaker 2: So it means that you can actually get your foot in the door, learn about what is all of this energy stuff that I'm talking about.
• 45:04
Speaker 2: What does that mean for you?
• 45:05
Speaker 2: Because it means a completely different thing for everybody to start to open the door, to see what is possible in your empowerment journey, so that by the time this podcast is released, that will be available on my Instagram I'm empowered by Becky on Instagram.
• 45:20
Speaker 2: We'll link it in the show notes as well.
• 45:22
  Speaker 2: Okay, perfect.
• 45:24
Speaker 2: So that's, you know, a really accessible way, and for me as well.
• 45:27
Speaker 2: I want this work to be accessible for people.
• 45:28
  Speaker 2: That's why I created this.
• 45:30
Speaker 2: I got a bit too excited and I put in so much information.
• 45:33
Speaker 2: It was originally a three-hour workshop, but I've broken it down so that people can actually integrate this work into their daily lives.
• 45:40
  Speaker 2: So that's the seven-day program.
• 45:42
Speaker 2: Very excited to release that I'm.
• 45:45
Speaker 2: Then also you've mentioned my group program a couple of times, so this is my signature program.
• 45:50
Speaker 2: It's called the emotional empowerment method and this is a really, really journey.
• 45:56
Speaker 2: It's for the women who is type A, organized in her masculine, but she's so much so that she's got into that burnout phase multiple times and she's really ready to reconnect to the wisdom of her body, listen to her body, listen to herself, understand what's going on there, start to release all of these decades worth of programming so that she can be her own medicine, so that she can be emotionally wealthy, so that she can make aligned decisions from a place of absolute clarity and abundance.
• 46:31
Speaker 2: So, yeah, I'm really passionate about that.
• 46:34
Speaker 2: That is my four month program.
• 46:36
Speaker 1: We are reopening spots on july, the 15th okay, 2025 could be divine timing for somebody listening to this, and if they miss it, then I'm sure they can just pop into your instagram and check in with you on what it is that you're currently offering yeah, and my encouragement is always please just drop me a dm.
• 46:55
Speaker 2: I don't have anybody in my dms, it's only me in there, so you will be talking directly to me, and it's likely that, if you have been feeling a block, I've helped someone through this before, so I can help you through that.
• 47:07
Speaker 2: I'm never going to be salesy or pushy.
• 47:09
Speaker 2: I believe that this work is ready for the people that are ready for it, that are ready to step into their empowerment, and that's not my job to sort of drag you there.
• 47:17
Speaker 2: That's for you to see your own potential and, yes, it's for the women who are ready to redefine what power means to them.
• 47:25
  Speaker 2: So beautiful.
• 47:26
Speaker 1: Wow, I absolutely love that.
• 47:28
Speaker 1: It when you speak about your business, like I literally see you and hear you be so lit up and that just makes me so lit up that, like you know, imagine if you and I had never been connected and you were still in investment banking, like I'm sure you would have gone through some kind of transformation.
• 47:46
Speaker 1: Like you were kind of on the path already with you know giving up alcohol and like becoming aware and the plant medicine journey and everything.
• 47:54
Speaker 1: But like, yeah, you've really just expedited everything.
• 48:00
Speaker 1: But like, uh, yeah, you've really just expedited.
• 48:01
Speaker 1: Like there is a total quantum leap right now.
• 48:02
Speaker 1: Like being here recording this on the podcast that you initially discovered this whole thing by um is such a cool full circle moment it makes me tear up.
• 48:11
  Speaker 1: I literally cried.
• 48:14
Speaker 1: Earlier today you like told me that you were running group programs.
• 48:18
Speaker 1: I was like, oh my God, I'm so proud Because that is the thing Like.
• 48:23
Speaker 1: So what I was mentioning earlier about how, like I help people go from like step zero to 0.05 to, yeah, to level one, is like we just need to start.
• 48:36
Speaker 1: But you can totally skyrocket your business once you get started, but I think for so many people they just kind of stay stuck in this limbo area because they don't know what direction to go in and, like you, just end up walking in a circle if you don't have any direction.
• 48:50
Speaker 1: So it's just so cool to see how far you've taken this, and I know that it's only just going to keep going.
• 48:59
Speaker 1: You're just on the fast track and obviously so passionate about what it is that you do and yeah, you were saying that here in Bali.
• 49:06
Speaker 1: I know you're only here for a month Only.
• 49:09
  Speaker 1: Oh my God.
• 49:10
Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm a little disconnected with the way that other people live their lives.
• 49:15
Speaker 1: To be fair, I remember one time oh my gosh, my friend Jen Jen if you're listening to this, I'm sorry.
• 49:21
Speaker 1: I was when I was living in Thailand and I was like she's like I'll come visit, and I was like, oh okay, she's like how much time do you think I need there?
• 49:27
Speaker 1: And I'm like I think we could see everything in six weeks.
• 49:30
Speaker 1: And she's like, girl, totally delusional.
• 49:37
Speaker 1: But yeah, so sometimes I forget that maybe a month sounds like a lot of time to some people.
• 49:42
Speaker 1: Eventually, though, you realize that a month is like the minimum, because if you're going to go all the way to the other side of the planet, like you might as well be there, and now that you're here, you get to like maintain your business.
• 49:54
Speaker 1: Actually, could you speak quickly about what it's like running your business from Bali, because you're normally at?
• 50:03
Speaker 1: You normally work from a home office, I assume?
• 50:05
  Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 50:07
  Speaker 2: It's mad.
• 50:09
Speaker 2: Looking into the distance, like how do I even begin to to describe it?
• 50:14
Speaker 2: Bali, I think, as a place, is amazing for digital nomads.
• 50:19
Speaker 2: Everything is accessible on your doorstep the most amazing food, um, yoga, uh, massages.
• 50:28
Speaker 2: I was just saying a story to Krista earlier around how, um, now I'm in a place where I can go for a massage like guilt-free.
• 50:37
Speaker 2: Myself, a few years ago would never have allowed myself to have that much self-care and self-love and see crying as a common theme.
• 50:45
Speaker 2: But, I was like always crying when I was getting this massage because I was like this is so nourishing to myself.
• 50:51
Speaker 2: I'm allowing myself to finally do this.
• 50:53
Speaker 2: So, yeah, I've definitely also had struggles as well and challenges when traveling and trying to be like a digital nomad.
• 51:03
Speaker 2: So I think I had to really redefine what does that look like for me?
• 51:07
Speaker 2: What is success for me?
• 51:08
Speaker 2: What does a digital nomad look like for me?
• 51:10
Speaker 2: Because I sort of pulled back a lot at one point and I started doing in-person retreats and in-person workshops.
• 51:17
Speaker 2: So, like you say, what all these beautiful snowflakes, what works the best for you?
• 51:22
Speaker 2: What does being a digital nomad look like for you?
• 51:24
Speaker 2: What if you could expand your dreams as much as possible?
• 51:28
Speaker 2: What would be your perfect life?
• 51:29
Speaker 2: And for me, it is being in Scotland for a few months running, our Airbnb, being with my fiance, being in bali for a month.
• 51:38
Speaker 2: I was in india for four months, like I said earlier this year, um, so I don't know if that answers your question.
• 51:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, but, it's, it's very dynamic.
• 51:49
Speaker 2: It's very empowering to know that I can wake up every day and decide what I want to do.
• 51:53
Speaker 2: And it's actually interesting because I'm not interested in the tourist stuff like I I don't want to go to, like all the islands and that sort of stuff because I am so passionate about doing my work, about my own empowerment journey, that those are the two things I'm focusing on whilst I'm in Bali.
• 52:09
Speaker 1: So that is miraculous like for for the listeners.
• 52:12
Speaker 1: I just want you to take a minute and see if you can put yourself in Becky's shoes, right, like having come from some kind of whether you were in corporate or some other kind of stuffy, unfulfilling job situation.
• 52:26
Speaker 1: Like if that's where you are now.
• 52:27
Speaker 1: Imagine just fast forwarding the clock, two years from now you could be in your dream destination.
• 52:35
Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be Bali, it could be anywhere in the world, but your dream maybe it's a hut in the woods, your dream waking up when you want and being so excited to work on your business that you don't even care about the travel stuff around.
• 52:52
Speaker 1: But you just get to be in the energy of this new dream destination and meet people and just like feel so abundant and inspired.
• 52:59
Speaker 1: And, becky, like you're such an amazing example of what's possible for people and just want to say thank you for showing up and doing the work and believing in yourself, taking a chance on yourself and just really serving as an inspiration, for I mean, I don't know how many people are going to ultimately listen to this episode, but it's thousands and I think that if even one person decides to take action on their dreams today, then you've just done such an amazing service by being yourself.
• 53:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, and the one thing, if I'm going to leave one energy thing behind to reflect on it's do you want to choose courage or do you want to choose fear?
• 53:41
Speaker 2: Because ultimately, you can run away from fear or you can run towards desire, and I think that's such a huge thing.
• 53:50
Speaker 2: That I learn is I want to always choose to step into my courage and to run towards what I want, rather than something, rather than staying in a situation that's comfortable because I'm scared.
• 54:00
Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's my last you had mentioned earlier, where you were like sometimes.
• 54:06
Speaker 1: you know, sometimes entrepreneurship gets hard.
• 54:08
Speaker 1: I you'll never hear me say that it's super easy.
• 54:11
Speaker 1: It can be simple, but it's not easy.
• 54:13
Speaker 1: Um, so sometimes we have those moments where we're like in a low moment of like, oh, this is, this is challenging, I'm being pushed to my limits, Um, and then you think about oh, but what?
• 54:23
Speaker 1: I want to go back to what I had before this corporate world, or maybe I was making a ton of money and whatever.
• 54:30
Speaker 1: But just, uh, it's just different to be doing what you love and being free.
• 54:36
Speaker 2: And it's such an amazing journey.
• 54:38
Speaker 2: Like sounds so cringe, but you learn so much in the journey, like yeah business will always be your biggest mirror, and to not see the lows as like oh my god, this is a pit of despair.
• 54:49
Speaker 2: What is this showing me about myself?
• 54:52
Speaker 2: That I can improve?
• 54:53
Speaker 2: And entrepreneurship, I believe, accelerates your healing journey, your empowerment journey, because you are constantly being faced with.
• 55:00
Speaker 2: Okay, this is my only choice, because I don't want to go back to that old life.
• 55:04
Speaker 2: That isn't me anymore.
• 55:05
Speaker 2: So you have to face it.
• 55:07
Speaker 2: But when you do, what's on the other side is so incredible.
• 55:10
Speaker 1: So, it's that identity shift that we, that we've been speaking about so much, so um, for the listeners, if you are ready to make an identity shift right, if you are, if you've been listening to this and you're like relating so much to Becky's story where you know, again, you maybe are in some kind of unfulfilling work environment, even if you don't know what business you want to create, even if you're not even sure you are ready to be an entrepreneur, but you're curious about the path.
• 55:38
Speaker 1: Just pursuing the entrepreneur path, I guarantee you you will be a different person, like you can always go back and get a job if you want.
• 55:48
Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you're not going to want one.
• 55:50
Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you're not going to want one once you get a taste of the freedom that entrepreneurship can really offer.
• 55:55
Speaker 1: So again, I just want to emphasize that you don't need to know what business you want to pursue.
• 56:01
Speaker 1: You can just come to me.
• 56:03
Speaker 1: I will help you with the career assessment process, like you heard with Becky, where I called it just like that.
• 56:09
Speaker 1: I was like I know what will be a great thing for you.
• 56:12
Speaker 1: You may resist my idea at first.
• 56:14
Speaker 1: If you do, I'll just give you a different, easier to swallow idea and we'll just get you started with shifting your identity, growing as an individual and becoming the person that gets to live in authenticity, that gets to live a life of freedom, whatever that means to you.
• 56:35
Speaker 1: It doesn't have to mean traveling the world.
• 56:37
Speaker 1: It doesn't have to mean anything other than whatever your dreams are.
• 56:41
Speaker 1: So the way that I support people is through my year-long program.
• 56:46
Speaker 1: It's called the Digital Nomad Life Academy.
• 56:47
Speaker 1: It's a whole year because transformation takes time and we're really asking, like a lot of the participants, it's not just like figure out your business idea and follow the strategy.
• 56:58
Speaker 1: It's not just like figure out your business idea and follow the strategy.
• 57:00
Speaker 1: It's also become a new identity, like embrace entrepreneurship, embrace this future version of you.
• 57:06
Speaker 1: So there's a lot of inner work that you're encouraged to do inside of the DNLA.
• 57:12
Speaker 1: There's so many interesting people to meet.
• 57:16
Speaker 1: I mean, oh my gosh.
• 57:17
Speaker 1: The community as well is thriving.
• 57:19
Speaker 1: We have meetups all over the world.
• 57:21
Speaker 1: Obviously, right now we're hanging out in Bali, becky and I and a few other people.
• 57:26
Speaker 1: Well, we'll have to talk about that later.
• 57:27
Speaker 1: We're planning a little meetup with some of the other people that are here too.
• 57:30
Speaker 1: But yeah, anyway, you just really are set up for success, as obviously you can see from Becky's journey, and I hope that if you're even a little bit curious that I hear from you, no pressure.
• 57:44
Speaker 1: But if you want to slide into my DMs on Instagram with the keyword apply, then you will receive a series of questions.
• 57:53
Speaker 1: We're just going to go one at a time.
• 57:54
Speaker 1: You have to answer all the questions in order to apply, okay.
• 57:58
Speaker 1: So I will say are you ready to apply?
• 58:00
Speaker 1: You're going to say yes and then you're going to answer some basic questions.
• 58:03
Speaker 1: Obviously, the more information you can give about yourself, the better, and then I can respond in an intelligent way or like in an actually helpful way.
• 58:11
Speaker 1: If you're just like Krista, I want to become a digital nomad, or Krista, I want to work online, krista, I just don't know what I'm doing.
• 58:17
Speaker 1: I'm going to have to pull information out of you and then we can't have a proper conversation.
• 58:21
Speaker 1: So I ask the apply questions in a very strategic way for a reason, if you couldn't tell from this episode, everything that I do is incredibly strategic.
• 58:30
Speaker 1: It's so that I can help people make profound transformations.
• 58:33
Speaker 1: So answer the apply questions.
• 58:36
Speaker 1: When you slide into my DMs at ChristabellaTravels with the keyword apply, answer the questions, I will respond, and if I think that you're a good fit for the program, or if I think that I can actually help you, then I will tell you how I can help you.
• 58:49
Speaker 1: I will invite you into the Digital Nomad Life Academy, or if I think that maybe you're at a different level, if it doesn't make sense for you, for whatever reason, if it's not the right time, I will point you in a different direction.
• 59:01
Speaker 1: So you can trust that for sure.
• 59:03
Speaker 1: I'm notorious for telling people that they're not the right fit for the program actually, but yeah, I feel like people who get to the end of my episodes probably are a good fit, but let's just make sure.
• 59:16
Speaker 1: So, again, slide into my DMs at ChristabellaTravels, or you can actually go into the show notes and watch my masterclass, the one that eventually brought Becky into the Digital Nomad Life Academy.
• 59:29
Speaker 1: So lots of ways to support you for free at the moment, and I just want to say thank you so much for listening.
• 59:36
Speaker 1: I hope that I hear from you and Becky.
• 59:38
Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here.
• 59:40
Speaker 1: Thank you for having me.
• 59:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, again, thanks for just doing the work, showing up for yourself and showing up for all the future people that probably are so inspired from this episode and from just witnessing you living your best life.
• 59:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you so much for all your gifts and I think for anyone who is thinking about the DNLA, it's such an incredible step.
• 1:00:01
Speaker 2: Like you don't even know what is possible for you, so don't even try and think about it, just follow your heart.
• 1:00:08
Speaker 2: If you know you want more, then I guarantee Chris will be a really good fit for you.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 2: So thank you so much for saying that Amazing.
• 1:00:15
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 1:00:15
Speaker 1: Well, that is the Digital Nomad Life podcast and hopefully I see you guys in the DMs.
• 1:00:19
Speaker 1: Otherwise, have a beautiful day, thank you.
