- 0:05Speaker 1: Okay, I love you Biebo. Hi. Hi guys, wait, I
- 0:15Speaker 1: gotta plug my headphones in like a responsible podcast. Yes, yes, yes,
- 0:19Speaker 1: everybody has all their everybody has all their everything plugged
- 0:22Speaker 1: in recording Hi everybody. By the way, we got to
- 0:24Speaker 1: state the obvious to our listeners before we even say
- 0:27Speaker 1: a word, that it is Friday at one pm on
- 0:30Speaker 1: the West Coast when we're recording this, So we're Dan,
- 0:34Speaker 1: you'll have to keep your TV on and let us
- 0:36Speaker 1: know if anything gets declared because we are waiting. You're
- 0:40Speaker 1: waiting for a declaration. Well, I don't know that the
- 0:43Speaker 1: declaration is going to come in the next hour and
- 0:45Speaker 1: a half, but I do want Dan to have something
- 0:47Speaker 1: on that he can watch to go. You guys, I'm
- 0:50Speaker 1: not gonna believe what just happened. MBC News on right here,
- 0:54Speaker 1: but we all can you fix your camera so I
- 0:57Speaker 1: can see your beautiful face. I don't want you to
- 0:59Speaker 1: look at me right now. Why this kidding? I'm just kidding.
- 1:06Speaker 1: This is far from over though. Let's just be honest
- 1:09Speaker 1: with everyone who's listening. By the time you hear this
- 1:11Speaker 1: will still probably in my opinion, I don't think Donald
- 1:15Speaker 1: Trump's gonna freaking right. So with that being said, I
- 1:23Speaker 1: don't think this is gonna be over until after all
- 1:26Speaker 1: of the count is done, first of all, and then
- 1:29Speaker 1: all of the suing and lawsuits get underway, and then
- 1:34Speaker 1: after that, when we find out what's gonna stick and
- 1:37Speaker 1: what's gonna recount and everything like that, then it's gonna
- 1:41Speaker 1: be a while until we find out who's president. I'm
- 1:43Speaker 1: hoping it's before freaking inauguration. He's got something to say,
- 1:47Speaker 1: go ahead. I was just gonna, I was just gonna
- 1:49Speaker 1: offer that. In certain states, it definitely seems like there
- 1:53Speaker 1: is some sort of legal precedent to actually do a recount,
- 1:55Speaker 1: like Georgia and Wisconsin, But in places like Pennsylvania and
- 1:58Speaker 1: Nevada and Arizona where the count is still happening and
- 2:01Speaker 1: still active, the only ballots that have been counted so
- 2:04Speaker 1: far are the ones that were received on or before
- 2:06Speaker 1: election day, So so far, all the votes counted in
- 2:09Speaker 1: these states that are super battleground that people are really
- 2:11Speaker 1: aggressive about, there's no legal ground to stand on for
- 2:15Speaker 1: a recount or or a lawsuit. So all of the
- 2:17Speaker 1: lawsuits that he will try to push for those places
- 2:19Speaker 1: he already tried in Michigan, and failed. All of these
- 2:22Speaker 1: other states will also just like be like, you want
- 2:24Speaker 1: to do a lawsuit here, you can't. So but isn't
- 2:27Speaker 1: isn't isn't Wisconsin still growing though? Isn't that one still
- 2:32Speaker 1: or was it Michigan that's still growing? What do you
- 2:34Speaker 1: mean growing in that way? Like yeah, in his in
- 2:38Speaker 1: his distancing himself from and Biden distancing himself from Trump.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Oh sure, yeah it is. But it's Georgia. I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Georgia just has a lot of extra ballots that are
- 2:49Speaker 1: hanging by the wayside, like military ballots that still have
- 2:51Speaker 1: been counted yet, and I never in Wisconsin, but not
- 2:54Speaker 1: just that, but other like provisional ballots haven't been counted
- 2:58Speaker 1: in in uh, Georgia yet, And so we got to
- 3:01Speaker 1: get into that, you know what I mean. There's something
- 3:03Speaker 1: like I don't I don't know the exact number, so
- 3:05Speaker 1: please us of A don't quote me on this, but
- 3:08Speaker 1: there's something like six thousand provisional ballots that have been
- 3:12Speaker 1: accepted and will be counted. What's so frustrating to me
- 3:16Speaker 1: is that a lot of these states said to their legislatures,
- 3:19Speaker 1: this is going to be crazy. We can't count all
- 3:22Speaker 1: this on the day, we need to start counting early,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and Republican legislatures said no, they were trying to suppress
- 3:30Speaker 1: the vote. Dude, right, But what I'm saying is I
- 3:32Speaker 1: saw someone's expressed it so articulately on Twitter. He said,
- 3:36Speaker 1: these were actually the first votes in. They just were
- 3:40Speaker 1: never counted because because they weren't allowed to be counted.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And so now that they're all being counted, and people
- 3:46Speaker 1: were like, stop the count You see the people praying outside,
- 3:49Speaker 1: stop the God. And it's like, well, you guys, they
- 3:53Speaker 1: should have been counted for a week ago, but because
- 3:57Speaker 1: you vote, your people said, no way, they've just been
- 4:00Speaker 1: sitting there in boxes. Yeah, and and and and that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: what's going on right now. And we will have a winner,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and it could be Joe Biden and it could be
- 4:09Speaker 1: Donald Trump right now about about that's not true, Zach.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That's what they were saying on election day, that there's
- 4:19Speaker 1: no way it was going to be Biden. That's what
- 4:21Speaker 1: Trump was thinking. So let's just let the let the
- 4:24Speaker 1: let them, let the democracy play its part in all
- 4:28Speaker 1: of this, and let's sit back and watch. Please let
- 4:32Speaker 1: the soap opera play on. Everybody's getting so everybody's getting
- 4:35Speaker 1: so excited about it, though, Man, let it play on.
- 4:38Speaker 1: We all wanted this shit. This is what everybody wanted.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Everybody hoped for this, everybody hoped for this, and now
- 4:45Speaker 1: it's pulling this This election is pulling at your heart
- 4:48Speaker 1: strings and everyone's freaking freaking out. Calm the fuck down
- 4:52Speaker 1: us of A. Well, it'll be Tuesday by the time
- 4:56Speaker 1: they hear this, so maybe they'll be all of this
- 4:58Speaker 1: will be antiquated noon, right, But we have to trap
- 5:01Speaker 1: at the four of us, not get together and vent
- 5:03Speaker 1: because it's just fucking nuts. Yo, Biden security better be
- 5:07Speaker 1: beefy dogs as fuck. Do you know the airspace over
- 5:13Speaker 1: his house more secret service. Actually, the very first step
- 5:16Speaker 1: they do, which is kind of cool when they start
- 5:19Speaker 1: to see the winner, is they fucking block the airspace
- 5:22Speaker 1: over your house. That's so baller. So they fucking shut
- 5:25Speaker 1: down the airspace over his house today because they were like, Okay, Biden,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I see you, yeah, you think it's you think Trump's
- 5:33Speaker 1: like here, where the fucking it did? Where's my air space?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Set he's in he's in the White House. They always
- 5:40Speaker 1: get the airs. But Biden, wherever he is, it's like, oh,
- 5:45Speaker 1: those fucking planes are gone. Pretty choppers are gone. I
- 5:50Speaker 1: wish I'd still got a round my house. Have you
- 5:53Speaker 1: noticed starting COVID how many fucking leaf blowers there are?
- 5:56Speaker 1: I mean, come on, people, enough with your fucking leaves.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Just leave the leaves, leave the lip. I was like
- 6:00Speaker 1: a Seinfeld, but lave the leaves. Episode ten of The
- 6:06Speaker 1: Mandalorian came out. I didn't see it. You watch Have
- 6:10Speaker 1: you watched episode one? I mean I really liked it.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I really liked you like nine? Did you like Timothy Olaphant?
- 6:16Speaker 1: You know that I loved Timothy Eldaphant. You know that
- 6:18Speaker 1: I made a movie with Timothy Eldphant. I know, and
- 6:22Speaker 1: I send it. I send it. Joel on Twitter that
- 6:24Speaker 1: he I definitely felt my kinsy scale shift. I felt
- 6:30Speaker 1: both my kinsey scale and my penis shift just gently.
- 6:33Speaker 1: He is a handsome man. Not only is he a
- 6:36Speaker 1: handsome man, I'm getting water, he's getting hotter. Yeah, well
- 6:39Speaker 1: he's got that. He's got that Pierce Brosnan, uh freaking
- 6:43Speaker 1: with the gray gray get for him. Where he gets
- 6:46Speaker 1: more distinguished as he gets older. But let me tell
- 6:49Speaker 1: you something right now, he has graduated to a lot
- 6:52Speaker 1: of Star Wars fans. Most favorite character in Star Wars
- 6:56Speaker 1: or one up there like he's top he's top ten
- 6:59Speaker 1: all of a sudden, really that fast, dude, the character
- 7:02Speaker 1: was so I didn't know. Forgive me and I because
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm not you and it's not even and it's a
- 7:08Speaker 1: character that they made in a book. They wrote about
- 7:10Speaker 1: the character in the book. That's all you know about him.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I didn't know that it was Boba Fette's actual armor. Yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 1: that's what made it fire, dude. I didn't know that
- 7:20Speaker 1: until someone explained it to me. And that's why it
- 7:22Speaker 1: was in what's what are those people called their big
- 7:25Speaker 1: in the Jawa ship And that was Boba Fett at
- 7:28Speaker 1: the end too, who turned around? I thought that was
- 7:31Speaker 1: jangle Fett. No, jangle Fett got his head sliced off.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That was his clone Boba. I can't keep track of
- 7:38Speaker 1: all this bullshit. But anyway, watch watch it was. It
- 7:42Speaker 1: was really well done. Watch. I mean shout out to
- 7:46Speaker 1: you know. So, like so Flow hates the side show
- 7:49Speaker 1: Collectibles Baby Yoda. She thinks it's really freaky and he's
- 7:53Speaker 1: gonna have to move down to my office because I
- 7:56Speaker 1: was keeping him in the living room. I think another
- 7:58Speaker 1: reason that she wasn't liking it is I was hiding
- 8:01Speaker 1: him around dark corners and every time she would come around,
- 8:05Speaker 1: he'd be standing there on the ground, and after like
- 8:08Speaker 1: three screams, she was like, put this fucking thing away appropriate.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I just really wish you would watch your mouth when
- 8:19Speaker 1: you talk about Star Wars. I love that you curse
- 8:22Speaker 1: so much, but when we're talking about your favorite it's
- 8:24Speaker 1: like you're like a religious person. It's like we're talking
- 8:26Speaker 1: about Bible characters. You're like, don't curse around the Bible. Well,
- 8:29Speaker 1: it's just that I know what it's meant for. And
- 8:31Speaker 1: anytime I'm talking about this, if it's going to be
- 8:35Speaker 1: listened to, I don't want people to I want everybody
- 8:40Speaker 1: to hear my Star Wars message when I talk about it.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I don't want it to be censored for anybody. That's
- 8:45Speaker 1: how much I love Star Wars, and I would prefer
- 8:48Speaker 1: it if that's how everybody else treated it too. The
- 8:50Speaker 1: only way that any of your your in the in
- 8:53Speaker 1: the only way that any of the stuff that you
- 8:55Speaker 1: say is going to really affect the people that Star
- 8:58Speaker 1: Wars is made for, if you take some of the
- 9:02Speaker 1: profanity out. I'm just putting it out there? Who's your
- 9:05Speaker 1: least favorite character like all the movies? If you were like,
- 9:08Speaker 1: you know what, the motherfucker I hate the most is
- 9:11Speaker 1: this guy? And don't say Jargar Banks because that's easy. No,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I actually liked it. I think jar Jar Binks is
- 9:17Speaker 1: a character that needs to be revisited, to be honest
- 9:20Speaker 1: with you, Okay, so then and then who who? Who's
- 9:22Speaker 1: your answer? Well, well, I wish the audience could see
- 9:26Speaker 1: you Well's face. It's so serious. It's like it's a
- 9:30Speaker 1: hard one. Well, you know, that whole diner sequence in
- 9:35Speaker 1: Attack of the Clones was a little weird, even though
- 9:38Speaker 1: they introduced a character with four arms, which was really awesome. Uh,
- 9:43Speaker 1: but you could tell, but you could tell that that
- 9:45Speaker 1: dude had been in some type of battle and you
- 9:49Speaker 1: know he had fought. He wasn't just a cook. He
- 9:52Speaker 1: had skills. So I can't even say I don't know, dude,
- 9:54Speaker 1: I don't know whom I can't That's hard, that's very
- 9:57Speaker 1: difficult the audience. I worry we're boring the audience. We
- 9:59Speaker 1: should move on to the show scrubs, because that's why
- 10:02Speaker 1: they're here. Oh, I know, I know, I already know.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Out of all of it. Yeah, the Knights of Ren No, okay,
- 10:13Speaker 1: new topic for the show because and this is why,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and it's my least favorite character because they did nothing
- 10:24Speaker 1: with it. They really did nothing with it. And we're
- 10:27Speaker 1: back on the same page. We're back on the same page.
- 10:29Speaker 1: God damn it. Okay, okay, I really did not. For
- 10:33Speaker 1: those of you who are titilated by this, if your
- 10:35Speaker 1: nipples are picked up one day, Donald and Jibbell are
- 10:38Speaker 1: going to have their own Star Wars podcast. By the way,
- 10:40Speaker 1: do you know about this ESPN radio show Slash TV
- 10:43Speaker 1: show with Dan LeBatard and Stu Gatsts. You don't even
- 10:49Speaker 1: know who those people are? Those producers follow me on Twitter,
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's say Bill, Yeah, shout out. Bill told me that
- 10:56Speaker 1: this is a very big sports thing that you would know. Oh,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I know, Libertardi is yeah and uh and apparently some
- 11:03Speaker 1: of them are our big Scrubs fans and even listen
- 11:06Speaker 1: to this podcast. Shout out Roy and man, yeah who
- 11:10Speaker 1: is Roy? Who? I'm just kidding, I'm just to name.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And also they've been having Bill because Bill now is
- 11:19Speaker 1: like you know, now he likes podcasts because he's got
- 11:21Speaker 1: his like his palette wet. So apparently Bill has been
- 11:24Speaker 1: going on their podcast? Has he been going five six
- 11:26Speaker 1: seven eight? No, But they literally he told me we
- 11:28Speaker 1: were just as you saw. We were just FaceTime me.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And he goes, they literally had him on a few
- 11:32Speaker 1: days and they were like, they were like, we've been
- 11:34Speaker 1: trying to get you on and and he was like
- 11:36Speaker 1: really and and the producer goes, yeah, like five six
- 11:39Speaker 1: seven eight times. Well, apparently that's a big I wouldn't
- 11:46Speaker 1: know it's a sports thing. But I thought you wouldn't
- 11:47Speaker 1: know what that's about. Donald, Why don't you count us
- 11:50Speaker 1: into America's favorite plas seven eight about a bunch of
- 12:00Speaker 1: domes and nurses stories. So gather around here, are gather
- 12:12Speaker 1: around here we watch Oh Mabby and listen on Fridday.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Oh my god, there she is. Everybody so ronick that
- 12:28Speaker 1: we record on Friday. I wonder if Gabby's gonna listen
- 12:36Speaker 1: this Friday because all the the days she does. All right,
- 12:44Speaker 1: now we're to explain everyone what the hell that's about.
- 12:46Speaker 1: So you guys, as you know, Bill Lawrence shamed us
- 12:50Speaker 1: for doing a podcast about Scrubs and not having one
- 12:53Speaker 1: of the writers on other than him, and uh, and
- 12:56Speaker 1: we are so blessed to have our first non bill
- 13:00Speaker 1: hilarious comic writer Gabby Alan Greenberg. Hi, there thunderous applause.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Then turn your keys back. Yes, it's thunderous applause. Now
- 13:13Speaker 1: Donald was just singing the song before we do anything.
- 13:16Speaker 1: The writer's rooms, if you if you're not involved in
- 13:19Speaker 1: TV writing at all, you wouldn't know. But TV writer's
- 13:21Speaker 1: rooms are very silly, and there's lots of inside jokes,
- 13:24Speaker 1: and ninety percent of the time is spent joking around,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and then occasionally they write something for the show, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: so there are lots of jokes and a song. I guess, Gabby,
- 13:34Speaker 1: you'll have to tell us why this song was written.
- 13:35Speaker 1: But someone wrote a song called Gabby doesn't listen on Fridays.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I mean, you know, a lot of these bits there,
- 13:44Speaker 1: the foundations very thin. I'm not gonna lie, you know.
- 13:47Speaker 1: So you know, you say something once and then it
- 13:50Speaker 1: becomes lower. I think it's one Friday, you know where
- 13:54Speaker 1: I just didn't listen. I mean, it just might be
- 13:58Speaker 1: a simple azett. It might have been I was pregnant
- 14:04Speaker 1: a lot, I feel like during scrubs, so I like
- 14:07Speaker 1: maybe I was had a little bit of pregnancy brain
- 14:11Speaker 1: and but yeah, I think I didn't listen on Fridays
- 14:14Speaker 1: or one Friday. And then Mike, who would pretty much
- 14:17Speaker 1: write a song about anything, right, Mike Schwartz. Mike Schwartz. Uh,
- 14:21Speaker 1: we just took it and ran with it. It's such
- 14:24Speaker 1: a hooky song. We are twenty years later. I know
- 14:27Speaker 1: the melody and we're still singing. And then there was
- 14:29Speaker 1: also the other sorry, the other thing, that non sequitor mondays.
- 14:34Speaker 1: What was that? I don't remember. I don't remember not
- 14:38Speaker 1: I remember. I actually remember more words to the Gabby song.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Gabby doesn't listen on Fridays, Gabby only listen to for
- 14:45Speaker 1: this Sorry the six days. I don't know if you're
- 14:50Speaker 1: accounting weekends. I didn't know. I don't know if you're
- 14:52Speaker 1: accounting weekends or the accounted weekends. I think it was.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I mean, we have to ask Schwartz, Gabby only listen
- 14:59Speaker 1: to the Then there's some harmony. I mean, we really
- 15:04Speaker 1: went for it. We spent a lot of time on that.
- 15:06Speaker 1: We have there's a whole album. I have to say
- 15:09Speaker 1: that if I wasn't an actor, I think one of
- 15:12Speaker 1: the most fun jobs in Hollywood. And you're going to
- 15:14Speaker 1: correct us if I'm wrong. But being in a writer's room.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Being in a comedy writer's room with First of all,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you can be in one that's horrible where everyone's looking
- 15:23Speaker 1: around going, oh my god, this sucks. But when you're
- 15:25Speaker 1: in a good one with a group of people that
- 15:27Speaker 1: you find hilarious, it's the greatest job in the world,
- 15:30Speaker 1: isn't it. It is the greatest job in the world.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It really is. Yes, there are rooms that are no
- 15:36Speaker 1: fun or tense, and but the scrubs room in particular
- 15:41Speaker 1: was really fun. We loved each other. I mean, you
- 15:45Speaker 1: are together a lot. Does every day does feel like
- 15:48Speaker 1: a dysfunctional Thanksgiving dinner with your family because you're seated
- 15:51Speaker 1: around that table and you get to know each other
- 15:53Speaker 1: so well, Like you certainly get on each other's nerves
- 15:55Speaker 1: after a while. Yeah, but in a loving way, the
- 15:58Speaker 1: way you are with family. But it is one of
- 16:02Speaker 1: the most fun jobs. The first time I ever was
- 16:05Speaker 1: in a room, I remember a friend of mine asked
- 16:08Speaker 1: me if I wanted to sit in because I'd written
- 16:10Speaker 1: a pilot and I was messing around with looking into
- 16:14Speaker 1: maybe doing it professionally, and he was running a pilot
- 16:17Speaker 1: and he said, well, do you want to sit in
- 16:18Speaker 1: on my pilot and just see what it's like sitting
- 16:21Speaker 1: on the room and back then that we're not as
- 16:24Speaker 1: many women in rooms, back in the old days, and
- 16:28Speaker 1: I wonder I was coming up, and so so I
- 16:34Speaker 1: walked in and it was a bunch of guys in sweatpants,
- 16:38Speaker 1: eating Chinese food and farting, and I'm home. I did,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and I said to my friend, this is a job.
- 16:48Speaker 1: This is a job I could get paid for. What
- 16:50Speaker 1: was your first what was your We always whenever we
- 16:53Speaker 1: have people related to the show, and we always talked
- 16:55Speaker 1: about how they started and everything. And I know for
- 16:58Speaker 1: a fact there's a lot of people that to the
- 17:00Speaker 1: show who aspire to be all sorts of entertainment writers,
- 17:04Speaker 1: particularly a TV comedy writer, which, as I just said,
- 17:07Speaker 1: is a pretty dope job. So so tell people. And
- 17:10Speaker 1: also you're a woman, which, like you said, was very
- 17:14Speaker 1: is still very hard, but also but much harder twenty
- 17:17Speaker 1: years ago. So tell everyone about how it happened. How
- 17:20Speaker 1: did you how did you get break in? Because you've
- 17:22Speaker 1: had this amazing well, I mean it's just sexual favors.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I want to I just want to be honest about
- 17:33Speaker 1: what I took and to I mean, because of what
- 17:36Speaker 1: I had to sacrifice. I opened the door to women
- 17:38Speaker 1: who don't have to do that. Now, that's what I did.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You want to say, you want to tell? Yeah, okay, ladies,
- 17:46Speaker 1: is Bill Lawrence a gentle lover? It was Bill Lawrence
- 17:48Speaker 1: a gentle lover? Again? Why didn't I didn't have to
- 17:51Speaker 1: do with Bill? Uh? Yeah? Which was kind to him. Yeah. No,
- 17:58Speaker 1: he just hired me based on my talent. I think,
- 18:00Speaker 1: I mean you did him? He did? Actually, actually he
- 18:03Speaker 1: he loves you very much, as you know, and and
- 18:07Speaker 1: he was bragging about you. And I want to talk
- 18:09Speaker 1: about all the show of fancy shows you've been writing
- 18:11Speaker 1: on since. Tell people who and keep in mind a
- 18:13Speaker 1: lot of people, most people listen to show aren't in
- 18:15Speaker 1: the business at all. So, so how does one become
- 18:18Speaker 1: a working, successful TV comment writer? Like? What? How did?
- 18:23Speaker 1: How did you? But it's different for lots of people, obviously,
- 18:25Speaker 1: what was your what was your process? Journey? Well, before
- 18:29Speaker 1: I answered that, I just want to say that it's
- 18:30Speaker 1: really nice to see you guys. It's good. Thank you
- 18:33Speaker 1: for having me on. Oh no, thank you for coming on.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Thank you for being our first non Bill writer on
- 18:38Speaker 1: the show. I'm honored and flattered and it's really nice
- 18:41Speaker 1: to see your faces. And that's Joel, Hi, Joel, nice
- 18:45Speaker 1: to meet you right there. Dude dance, the dude dancing,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and and the one that seems like he's not paying
- 18:52Speaker 1: attention and he's freaking and doing a bunch of things. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: if you're gonna do random shit, can you at least
- 18:59Speaker 1: turn off your kid. You're dancing in the fucking I
- 19:04Speaker 1: don't drop the don't drop the eed during the show, bro,
- 19:06Speaker 1: it's gotta be it's and if you know, it's gotta
- 19:09Speaker 1: be fucking house music because of the way he's he's like, no,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I bet it's election. Relate something happened. It's like dropping.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's like he's he's waiting for that ship to drop away. Gabby, Gabby,
- 19:18Speaker 1: just you know, Daniel will be We'll be watching while
- 19:21Speaker 1: we're doing this, Daniel, we'll be watching if there's anything
- 19:23Speaker 1: he needs to tell us. He's going to give us
- 19:25Speaker 1: the breaking news, giving me a job, and then accusing
- 19:29Speaker 1: me of paid attention to something else, the election. But
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if you could refrain from while we
- 19:34Speaker 1: have a very fancy guest doing what appears to be
- 19:37Speaker 1: some sort of MDMA dance drop. It's okay with me.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Do you want to appreciate that? All right? All right, Gabby,
- 19:48Speaker 1: back to you. How did I break in? I always
- 19:51Speaker 1: wrote as a hobby. I love to write, I have
- 19:55Speaker 1: My grandfather was a writer, and so that was something
- 19:59Speaker 1: even as kid, I would write stories for fun and uh,
- 20:05Speaker 1: So that was just always a hobby. And I was
- 20:08Speaker 1: an actress, uh for a bit, and I would mostly
- 20:12Speaker 1: do comedy. I was in a sketch comedy show. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: would write my own material and we did that for
- 20:19Speaker 1: a while, and and then I started to move more
- 20:25Speaker 1: into uh, writing only and moving away from auditioning. So
- 20:32Speaker 1: I wrote a pilot. I gave it to a friend
- 20:35Speaker 1: of mine to see if it was anything, and he
- 20:39Speaker 1: thought it was something. He didn't say it was good.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He said it was something but U but he was
- 20:46Speaker 1: encouraging and then that he that's when he asked me
- 20:48Speaker 1: if I wanted to sit in to see if it
- 20:50Speaker 1: was something I wanted to pursue. He thought that there
- 20:52Speaker 1: was some potential and uh, and I think, oh, well,
- 20:57Speaker 1: what the h this is a I don't know if
- 21:00Speaker 1: this would help anybody, because it's probably a unique, I
- 21:03Speaker 1: mean to me, but but I had gone to Network
- 21:07Speaker 1: for a pilot as an actor. I went and it
- 21:11Speaker 1: was there was a lot of improv involved in the audition,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and I kept improving and they brought me back like
- 21:17Speaker 1: six times, and then they didn't give me the job.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They kept bringing me back. Every time I would go back,
- 21:24Speaker 1: there would be like another shiksa Goddess. I was like,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'm not gonna just one after the other. So anyway,
- 21:30Speaker 1: but I started punching up my own stuff and giving
- 21:34Speaker 1: it to the writers and saying, can I try this
- 21:35Speaker 1: joke if I go into this show? And so that
- 21:38Speaker 1: friend who was doing that show said, well, do you
- 21:41Speaker 1: want to just try this instead? After I didn't get
- 21:43Speaker 1: the job, and like, yeah, you know, maybe it's time
- 21:47Speaker 1: to just parlay into that. So what was the first
- 21:52Speaker 1: show that you sat in on the writer's room for?
- 21:54Speaker 1: That was? I think it was a pilot called Youth
- 21:57Speaker 1: and Revolt. I don't think it went to series, but
- 22:02Speaker 1: that was the pie that I sat in on. And
- 22:04Speaker 1: then the first job I had was I was doing
- 22:08Speaker 1: punch Up just a couple of days a week for
- 22:10Speaker 1: the Polly Shore sitcom that he had on Fox. He
- 22:18Speaker 1: had a show, he had a sitcom. It was about
- 22:22Speaker 1: him living with his dad and super hot step mom
- 22:27Speaker 1: he lusted. I can see. There were a lot of complications,
- 22:33Speaker 1: a lot of situations that happened that lent itself to comedy. Yes,
- 22:40Speaker 1: uh so I did that a couple of days a week.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Some of my favorite jokes on that show, I bet
- 22:45Speaker 1: were written by you. Oh yes, Polly, No, you just
- 22:51Speaker 1: said you didn't see. You didn't even know there was
- 22:53Speaker 1: a show that was my first job. My second job
- 22:57Speaker 1: was a show called Ask Harriet about a cross dressing
- 23:01Speaker 1: advice columnist like TuS Kind. It was a TUTSI TWITSI yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 1: it's exactly he had to dress up as a woman
- 23:11Speaker 1: to get a job. Okay, yeah, yeah, I didn't after
- 23:16Speaker 1: school special once where I had to dress up as
- 23:18Speaker 1: a woman in order to get a job. Wait, what
- 23:20Speaker 1: was it? What was It was called The Brilliant The
- 23:22Speaker 1: Brilliant title was and you can google this if you
- 23:24Speaker 1: think I'm lying, just put my name and quote my
- 23:28Speaker 1: summer as a girl, and quickly what was the job?
- 23:33Speaker 1: This was? You know, a job that you had to
- 23:35Speaker 1: dress up as a woman for. They basically just robbed
- 23:38Speaker 1: the plot of TUTSI accepted in not being entertainment. It
- 23:42Speaker 1: was the last job on this little island. It was
- 23:45Speaker 1: meant to be like a cape cod kind of thing.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Was as a chambermaid. And Barbara Barry, if you remember her,
- 23:51Speaker 1: the actress Horse She she was running the inn and
- 23:55Speaker 1: there was a really hot girl that my character had
- 23:57Speaker 1: a crush on and she there was only one left.
- 24:00Speaker 1: And it was to be a chambermaid, which I guess
- 24:03Speaker 1: is like a housekeeper type maid. And and so I
- 24:07Speaker 1: had the idea and I went full TUTSI. And you know,
- 24:11Speaker 1: the aftrical specials are always trying to teach you a
- 24:13Speaker 1: lesson the kids. So the lesson in this one was
- 24:17Speaker 1: that my character had to learn what it was like
- 24:20Speaker 1: to how to how to respect women because he was
- 24:23Speaker 1: going to be mistreated by men when he was dressed
- 24:26Speaker 1: as a woman or girl boy because we were supposed
- 24:30Speaker 1: to be teenagers. But it was It's a masterpiece if
- 24:33Speaker 1: you ever get a chance. I can't wait to watch that. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: the story had to be told. I hope we can
- 24:37Speaker 1: find it somewhere. I don't know's you'll find it. Well,
- 24:41Speaker 1: there's probably YouTube clips, but but you can find the picture.
- 24:44Speaker 1: You can find it. I was kind of hot, although
- 24:45Speaker 1: some people said I look like Heather Moderazzo, who I love,
- 24:48Speaker 1: but I thought that I don't know if I agree
- 24:51Speaker 1: with that. When I dress up and put lipstick and
- 24:54Speaker 1: stuff like that on, I just looked like my mom. Dude, really,
- 24:57Speaker 1: I think you'd be really by the way he started,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I grasped for a second and don't think any I
- 25:02Speaker 1: hope you don't find this disrespectful. But your wife, no, Donald,
- 25:06Speaker 1: Your wife posted a picture on Instagram that was like fire, dude.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh she broke the internet, dude. Yeah, listen, man, she's
- 25:16Speaker 1: what is going on over there? Dude? She broke the
- 25:19Speaker 1: internet a little bit. And I love how she tried
- 25:21Speaker 1: to make it about the baby because she's like it
- 25:23Speaker 1: a bikini and she knows her body's obviously fire and
- 25:25Speaker 1: she's holding her baby and she's like it's still warm
- 25:28Speaker 1: in LA and everybody's like, holy shit, Casey, do how
- 25:33Speaker 1: many kids do you have now? Eleven? Eleven? Shut up?
- 25:37Speaker 1: How many? I have six kids now? But oh my god,
- 25:41Speaker 1: four of my kids are they're grown. Okay, okay, got
- 25:44Speaker 1: two littles. I have two little ones and so but anyway,
- 25:47Speaker 1: do you have a comment on Do you have a
- 25:49Speaker 1: comment on your wife's thirst trap because I fell for it.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I fell for it. I actually wrote, damn Donald, Yes, Uh,
- 26:01Speaker 1: it wasn't thirst trapt wasn't Yes, there wasn't it. Yes, yes, yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Well you know we talked about you talked about it
- 26:07Speaker 1: a few times on the podcast. Peloton is a big
- 26:11Speaker 1: thing in our house now and she you know where
- 26:13Speaker 1: I slack one commits? Did you spend today? By the way,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I did not spend today. I did spend today, but
- 26:20Speaker 1: guess who did? She did absolutely and I did too.
- 26:24Speaker 1: By the way, I'm using that guy you recommended, what's
- 26:27Speaker 1: his name, Cody. He's fucking funny. She's hilarious, right, I
- 26:30Speaker 1: love that Cody makes me laugh so hard. Dude, He's
- 26:32Speaker 1: my new favorite. I was using the British gal for
- 26:35Speaker 1: a while, and now I'm onto Cody because he makes
- 26:37Speaker 1: me laugh a Right, we should probably get into the show.
- 26:39Speaker 1: We gotta talk about the show. Gabby. Wait, Gabby, right, sorry, Gabby, sorry,
- 26:43Speaker 1: we if you've ever heard the show, we we don't
- 26:45Speaker 1: really follow any linear I heard the show and we're
- 26:48Speaker 1: talking to a writer and we don't follow anything linear
- 26:50Speaker 1: in here, So just talk to us. So, how did
- 26:53Speaker 1: what was the job with Scrubs your first big break. Yes, yes, okay,
- 26:57Speaker 1: okay it was. And then and you did how many
- 27:00Speaker 1: seasons of Scrubs did you before you were stolen away?
- 27:03Speaker 1: I did four seasons of Scrubs. Now did you leave
- 27:07Speaker 1: or were you stolen? Were you like, I'm out? What
- 27:10Speaker 1: happens is what happens is they start throwing money. When
- 27:12Speaker 1: you're on a hit show and you're a writer, they
- 27:14Speaker 1: start going, you know what they're paying you that bullshit?
- 27:16Speaker 1: You know it will pay your It was a combination
- 27:20Speaker 1: of having a baby that you know, hours on sitcoms
- 27:25Speaker 1: are long, and yeah, so I did. I left to
- 27:28Speaker 1: develop my own stuff, but I ended up coming back
- 27:33Speaker 1: to do I think a couple episodes after I had
- 27:37Speaker 1: had ted my son, my first sborn son, so I
- 27:43Speaker 1: would say all at all. Then I did some Park time.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I was in and out. I did like five seasons,
- 27:47Speaker 1: five or six seas And then what shows were you
- 27:49Speaker 1: on after you said you say Parks? No, I was on.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I didn't write on a show for a long time
- 27:56Speaker 1: after not a long time, but for a few years
- 27:58Speaker 1: because because of the baby. So I was writing movies
- 28:01Speaker 1: with I partnered up with Jen Crittenden. We started writing
- 28:05Speaker 1: movies and then the first TV job we came back
- 28:08Speaker 1: to do was we were We wrote on Divorce, The
- 28:12Speaker 1: Sarah Justis Parker Show, first bio, and then we wrote
- 28:15Speaker 1: on Veep. And that's the last staff I've been on
- 28:20Speaker 1: with Veep, which, well, that's a pretty darn good show
- 28:22Speaker 1: to be on. That's one of my favorites. Wow, that
- 28:25Speaker 1: was really fun. If you haven't watched Freep, you need
- 28:28Speaker 1: to watch Freep because I think the humor overlaps with
- 28:32Speaker 1: that of Scrubs and you accept it's like it can be.
- 28:36Speaker 1: It could be so much more r rated, not in
- 28:38Speaker 1: terms of sexuality, but in terms of language, because there's, yeah,
- 28:42Speaker 1: we had there was a lot of language. There was
- 28:43Speaker 1: a curse every other word. And it's fucking hilarious and
- 28:47Speaker 1: every single cast member is so talented. And I highly
- 28:52Speaker 1: recommend Veep too, now more than ever because it really
- 28:54Speaker 1: spoofs politics. Well you know, I mean everything that they
- 28:58Speaker 1: did on the show before we were there and then
- 29:00Speaker 1: while we were there has happened. I mean everything everything
- 29:04Speaker 1: this whole in Novent. I mean, yeah, the counting they
- 29:07Speaker 1: stopped the count wait continue counting. Thing I saw people
- 29:09Speaker 1: were posting this was a stick on VAP they did.
- 29:12Speaker 1: That's one of the best VAP episodes. I wasn't there
- 29:15Speaker 1: when they did that episode that so that was one
- 29:18Speaker 1: of the best VAP episodes ever. That one killed me
- 29:20Speaker 1: and that's very relevant. I mean so many. I mean,
- 29:23Speaker 1: we had an episode last sea our last season where
- 29:25Speaker 1: Jonah had went around getting everybody sick. He was horribly
- 29:31Speaker 1: contagious while he was campaigning, right, I mean he did
- 29:34Speaker 1: like a daylight say. I mean, it's just on and
- 29:36Speaker 1: on and on every everything. But I really really highly
- 29:38Speaker 1: recommend that show and everybody. It's very very funny. We
- 29:40Speaker 1: have to start talking about the episode of Scrubs because
- 29:43Speaker 1: that's what people come here for. All this other stuff
- 29:45Speaker 1: that's just for us. Okay, now, people people really want
- 29:49Speaker 1: to hear other than the casey looks fire on Instagram?
- 29:52Speaker 1: Is they want to hear us chat about the show? Yeah, dude,
- 29:54Speaker 1: why why? Why? Man? Why? I'm just seeing you married well? Bro?
- 29:58Speaker 1: You married well? I did all right, man, Okay, she
- 30:02Speaker 1: loves me. I'm a lucky man. Okay, Abs, you can
- 30:04Speaker 1: wash your clothes on them. Abs, I'm gonna start talking
- 30:07Speaker 1: about your girlfriend's ass. Now, how about that. Would you
- 30:10Speaker 1: like that? No, I'm uncomfortable, but it is ridiculous. Oh
- 30:18Speaker 1: my god. Okay, listen, man, my wife is doing a
- 30:21Speaker 1: thing and I'm and and it's not It's not me
- 30:24Speaker 1: doing that shit, So you talking about it to me
- 30:27Speaker 1: is irrelevant. Tell her congratulate her, alright me, she's putting
- 30:31Speaker 1: in the work. Just saying separately from our friendship, I'm
- 30:34Speaker 1: also really good friends with Casey and I'm impressed with
- 30:37Speaker 1: how fire she looks. So Kate, right right, that's a
- 30:41Speaker 1: great This is a great way to do it is
- 30:44Speaker 1: to talk. But you know, she hasn't listened to the podcast,
- 30:46Speaker 1: so she's never here. I know. I'll send her at something.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Let's take a break. We'll be right back after these
- 30:51Speaker 1: fine words. Do you want to do the recap over here?
- 30:59Speaker 1: So sorry, I forgot all right, So, Gabby, as you
- 31:02Speaker 1: know from being our number one fan, Donald does a
- 31:05Speaker 1: thirty seven second a recap of the show. Donald, are
- 31:09Speaker 1: you ready, I'm starting the timer? All right, here we go,
- 31:12Speaker 1: Here we go. Go. Jd and Danny are really starting
- 31:15Speaker 1: to get to know each other. Turk and Carla are
- 31:18Speaker 1: talking about children. Doctor Cox and Jordan aren't having sex
- 31:21Speaker 1: because of just having children. Turk and j D both
- 31:25Speaker 1: have big wins in the hospital. Elliott wants her big
- 31:27Speaker 1: win and jumps out every opportunity to get it, Doctor
- 31:30Speaker 1: Cox hurts his back, and Carla wants children. These events
- 31:33Speaker 1: lead doctor Cox and Carler to one inevitable conclusion. They're
- 31:38Speaker 1: getting old. I couldn't really pinpoint just one overall theme
- 31:41Speaker 1: in this episode, but I identified with so much Cox
- 31:45Speaker 1: getting old. I feel like him more nowadays than I
- 31:48Speaker 1: do Turk. We all have dreams of hitting the proverbial
- 31:52Speaker 1: big shot, not recognizing that it often comes with consequences
- 31:56Speaker 1: for someone else. But let's get past all that. Let's
- 32:00Speaker 1: say you finally get your chance at the big show.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Can you bounce back when it doesn't go your way?
- 32:07Speaker 1: M That's great? You know what, even though that was
- 32:10Speaker 1: like nine minutes long. I know because I kept, I kept.
- 32:12Speaker 1: We're not editing that because I want I wanted to
- 32:14Speaker 1: get PSA for kids, not to smoke weed. But listen,
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'm not talking about marijuana. I just was telling that
- 32:19Speaker 1: you your emiss. We're not editing that out. But I
- 32:24Speaker 1: like to use the word bounce because it all started
- 32:26Speaker 1: with basketball. Now I should make but I was gonna
- 32:29Speaker 1: say that. Also, it starts off with it starts off
- 32:32Speaker 1: how do you bounce? You know? The show starts off
- 32:35Speaker 1: with a basketball scene and he hurts himself, and throughout
- 32:38Speaker 1: the show he shows I'm not gonna let my back Cox.
- 32:41Speaker 1: That is, I'm not gonna let my back distract me
- 32:44Speaker 1: from having to do all of these things that I
- 32:47Speaker 1: want to do right. And throughout the show, Elliot's playing
- 32:53Speaker 1: a game where she wants to win, just like Turk
- 32:57Speaker 1: and JD do. And when she gets her opportunity, when
- 33:01Speaker 1: when finally it's there, it looks like she's not gonna
- 33:04Speaker 1: get it, and then j D's like, no, you know what,
- 33:06Speaker 1: here's your shot at it. And she does everything right
- 33:09Speaker 1: and it still doesn't go her way. Like Cox in
- 33:14Speaker 1: the beginning, can you stand up tall even though you
- 33:19Speaker 1: have all of this weight on your shoulders keeping you
- 33:21Speaker 1: down and hurting you, can you stand up tall and
- 33:24Speaker 1: continue to push forward? Well, Gabby, you wrote the damn
- 33:28Speaker 1: thing when you did? Yeah, I don't. Your name's on
- 33:33Speaker 1: the your names? Did you watch the episode Messed Up? Gabby?
- 33:38Speaker 1: Did you watch the episode? You didn't watch the episode?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Oh God? We try and give the guest homework here, Gabby,
- 33:47Speaker 1: it's all right, but we'll tell you all about it
- 33:49Speaker 1: and you can weigh in. Yeah, the episode. The episode
- 33:52Speaker 1: opens with well, first of all, I think that's well said. Donald.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I also wrote down that one of the themes up
- 33:58Speaker 1: of the episode is holding on to your youth and
- 34:04Speaker 1: or at least the passage of time, in terms of
- 34:06Speaker 1: Cox wanting and lamenting being old, Carla lamenting her age,
- 34:11Speaker 1: whereas Sarah wanting to step up and be a grown
- 34:15Speaker 1: up and be an adult and be a real quote
- 34:17Speaker 1: a real quote unquote unquote doctor. And it's about those
- 34:23Speaker 1: new chapters of life as we as we age and grow.
- 34:27Speaker 1: So I don't know, well, yeah, I mean it's it's
- 34:29Speaker 1: about you know, there are a lot of there are
- 34:31Speaker 1: a lot of things that I identify with this, you
- 34:33Speaker 1: know Cox Cox's storyline, and it says and it's not
- 34:36Speaker 1: just the back thing, it's also the whole sex thing
- 34:38Speaker 1: with the wife when it's not necessarily you know what
- 34:41Speaker 1: I mean, him just thinking about himself and not thinking
- 34:43Speaker 1: about you know, what his wife is going through, and
- 34:47Speaker 1: thinking that offering himself up as a solution to anything
- 34:53Speaker 1: is is is enough at that moment in time, you
- 34:58Speaker 1: know what I mean. So like I I I I
- 35:01Speaker 1: very much identify with Cox in this episode. I try
- 35:04Speaker 1: to hide when I'm injured. Now I try, you know,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I try, and you probably can't play. You stopped playing basketball,
- 35:10Speaker 1: I do. I have stopped playing basketball, not just that.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Not well, yeah, I have stopped just playing basketball, but
- 35:15Speaker 1: not just that. Uh. You know, I'm working on this
- 35:19Speaker 1: partnership of marriage, you know, as far as as far
- 35:23Speaker 1: as what's appropriate and you know what, my how my
- 35:26Speaker 1: wife likes to be treated. There was a there was
- 35:29Speaker 1: a time where we were young and things were accepted.
- 35:32Speaker 1: And now it's like I say shit, and she looks
- 35:34Speaker 1: at me like you're like a school on Saturday, you
- 35:37Speaker 1: know what I mean. No class, no class, that's right,
- 35:40Speaker 1: no class, no class. Filling that in the accident, the
- 35:44Speaker 1: episode opens with a green screen the car that it's
- 35:47Speaker 1: so bad it's almost looks like a spoof. I thought
- 35:49Speaker 1: it was great. I looked back at that like that
- 35:52Speaker 1: was a great moment for me because I remember we
- 35:53Speaker 1: were I remember shooting that. Oh I remember that. I
- 35:57Speaker 1: remember that. Yeah, I remember the accident, and do you
- 36:00Speaker 1: remember that. The stock footage of the car accident is
- 36:04Speaker 1: from Vanilla Sky. Bizarrely, the Cameron Crowe movie with Tom Cruise,
- 36:09Speaker 1: does somebody fall out of Nobody falls out of the car. No,
- 36:12Speaker 1: the car. If you remember in Vanilla's Sky, the car
- 36:14Speaker 1: goes off a bridge and then hits a hits a
- 36:17Speaker 1: wall beneath the bridge. Okay, I think it's Cameron Diaz, right,
- 36:22Speaker 1: and and I guess that footage is just available to license.
- 36:26Speaker 1: And whoever edited this episode was like, oh, there's that
- 36:29Speaker 1: that that car accident looks like a good thing for
- 36:32Speaker 1: us to cut too, not knowing that everyone would be like, well,
- 36:35Speaker 1: that's a very famous car accident from Vanilla's Guy. I
- 36:39Speaker 1: didn't know. I didn't. I you know, I didn't know
- 36:41Speaker 1: that you might have to go a little deep and
- 36:44Speaker 1: look on scrubs wiki, but I didn't know that without
- 36:46Speaker 1: looking at it. But I thought I thought it was
- 36:48Speaker 1: really interesting how the background in the car, because that
- 36:51Speaker 1: was clear that we were shooting on the green screen
- 36:53Speaker 1: right when I fall out, When I jump out of
- 36:55Speaker 1: the car and I'm rolling in the street, the cars
- 36:58Speaker 1: in the background react. She says, like twenty years ago, dude,
- 37:01Speaker 1: So you know that CG wasn't on point to where
- 37:05Speaker 1: they could make cards look real. So I wonder where
- 37:06Speaker 1: they got that footage from. Well, it was it was
- 37:09Speaker 1: definitely a two thousand and two effort, but it wasn't horrible,
- 37:15Speaker 1: which means it was a great effort. I thought it
- 37:16Speaker 1: looked great personally. What about bearded Elliott Gabby? You remember
- 37:20Speaker 1: that Elliott Elliott decides that she's she's not taking her
- 37:24Speaker 1: birth control pill for a full How long was it?
- 37:27Speaker 1: I forgot how it was like she forgot while she
- 37:30Speaker 1: was on vacation. So when she got back, she she
- 37:32Speaker 1: took them all. She took them all. Yeah, and asked
- 37:34Speaker 1: her how it went. And then she said, and it
- 37:37Speaker 1: cuts to her in the mirror looking like George like
- 37:44Speaker 1: with the hat, but she even has a hat on
- 37:46Speaker 1: and everything, dude, she even has a hat on. The
- 37:48Speaker 1: costume was amazing. It was very eighties. But she also
- 37:51Speaker 1: she has a full beard. And it's it's homecoming and
- 37:54Speaker 1: they're knocking on the door, going, honey, your homecoming dates here.
- 37:57Speaker 1: She's like, tell them, I'll be right down now. She
- 37:59Speaker 1: still stall them Stallo shaving cream. Hey, guys, I'm sorry
- 38:06Speaker 1: my computer is getting taken over. It's wild. I don't
- 38:08Speaker 1: know it's happening. Bill he's interrupting. Interrupting bit that's strange.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Costs a billion dollars for your podcast. Hey, Hey, Gabby, Zach,
- 38:23Speaker 1: Hey Donald, Hey, Daniel, Hey, Joel Hey five six seven eight. Look,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I think my podcast is going great. I'm happy to
- 38:37Speaker 1: have Gabby, Donald and Zach on it as a guest.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I'm happy that you guys are finally having a writer
- 38:43Speaker 1: on the show. I got two questions for you. One
- 38:47Speaker 1: is a question one. I want to force Gabby to
- 38:50Speaker 1: tell the story of how she was put on maternity
- 38:55Speaker 1: right now. It's just okay, yeah, you want me to
- 38:57Speaker 1: tell that right now? Okay, why were you on interning leave?
- 39:01Speaker 1: I mean, I know why you're putting the tree what
- 39:03Speaker 1: it's talking about. Yeah, the circumstances were that. So I
- 39:07Speaker 1: was incredibly pregnant towards you know, I was in my
- 39:11Speaker 1: eighth month, and I would waddle into work every day
- 39:15Speaker 1: and go right to that disgusting couch. Do you remember
- 39:18Speaker 1: that disgusting couch that we found a possum in. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 1: I did not know about. Oh yeah, there's nothing glamorous
- 39:26Speaker 1: about a TV writer's room. It looks and smells in
- 39:30Speaker 1: an abandoned hospital. Yeah, so I would every day. I
- 39:33Speaker 1: would waddle in and then go right to the couch
- 39:37Speaker 1: and fall asleep and so, and the couch was sort
- 39:42Speaker 1: of behind Bill's chair. And then I don't remember how
- 39:46Speaker 1: many times I did that, but it was I finally
- 39:50Speaker 1: attested Bill's patient was one too many times for Bill.
- 39:53Speaker 1: And I walked in. I'd driven all the way there.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I walked in, I waddled in, I got in the
- 39:57Speaker 1: couch and he turned around. He swiveled in his chair
- 39:59Speaker 1: towards me, and he said, go home. You're officially on
- 40:02Speaker 1: maternity leave. I do not want to see you again
- 40:05Speaker 1: until you have a baby. All right. So I just
- 40:08Speaker 1: got my stuff and I waddled out, and then I
- 40:11Speaker 1: didn't come back for months, and that was that. That
- 40:13Speaker 1: was my maternity leave. He could take away. He's like,
- 40:17Speaker 1: he's like, you can't just come in here and go
- 40:18Speaker 1: to sleep on the couch. I can't look at you anymore.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And it was too uncomfortable for everybody. So that was
- 40:25Speaker 1: my maternity leave, all right, Thank you Bill, Thank you Bill.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Go ahead, Okay. I hope she used the word waddle
- 40:32Speaker 1: because she would waddle in and then get on the
- 40:34Speaker 1: couch behind me and immediately go to sleep. That's how
- 40:36Speaker 1: it will work, circle to square bell and two. Here's
- 40:40Speaker 1: the question for you. Can you tell me why the
- 40:46Speaker 1: storyline of having Neil Flynn's character be an actor that
- 40:53Speaker 1: was in the movie The Fugitive made different people's head
- 40:58Speaker 1: explode as far as the janitor's name goes, Yes, because
- 41:06Speaker 1: if Neil Flynn is the person credited as being the
- 41:10Speaker 1: cop at the end of Fugitive, and he admits that
- 41:14Speaker 1: he's the cop at the end of The Fugitive, then
- 41:17Speaker 1: the janitor's name is Neil Flynn. That is correct. Donald.
- 41:23Speaker 1: So many people then started contacting me and saying that
- 41:26Speaker 1: we had written ourselves into a corner because that meant
- 41:30Speaker 1: that the janitor's actual name was Neil Flynn. Because in
- 41:33Speaker 1: the credits of The Fugitive, it says that that cop
- 41:37Speaker 1: that gets shot Kimbo, is played by Neil Flynn. But
- 41:41Speaker 1: I maintain that if you watch this episode, the janitor
- 41:45Speaker 1: lies constantly and Neil Flynn was simply the janitor's fake
- 41:51Speaker 1: actor name and still is because the janitor is a
- 41:55Speaker 1: real miss. You guys keep having writers on there. I
- 42:00Speaker 1: love you, uh, thank you for doing my show. Please
- 42:03Speaker 1: send the checks directly to my house because because you
- 42:08Speaker 1: know what, Bill needs guys cash more money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:13Speaker 1: I feel bad for it for them. I hope it's
- 42:15Speaker 1: to be okay. I hope they're gonna be okay it. Yeah.
- 42:19Speaker 1: When I watched it today, they cut the scene out
- 42:22Speaker 1: where we're watching the fugitive at the end and you
- 42:27Speaker 1: look and see his name and the credits. Was it
- 42:30Speaker 1: in your version at all? Uh? No, I didn't No,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I never saw it. Didn't we go it wasn't there
- 42:36Speaker 1: a scene where we go to the credits and it
- 42:37Speaker 1: says in the credits janitor as it's going, No, we
- 42:41Speaker 1: may have shot that. I don't think that's in the episode.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Oh okay, Well that's let's ask Bill that all right?
- 42:45Speaker 1: All right? The problem it's a great question. Donald. I'm
- 42:48Speaker 1: gonna be honest. You carry this show. You carry it, Donald,
- 42:52Speaker 1: and I'm grateful for you guesting on my show. The
- 42:56Speaker 1: we did not record a scene, have you guys watching
- 42:59Speaker 1: the credits and seeing Neil Flynn's name, But you and
- 43:04Speaker 1: me and Zach and other people we on set, we
- 43:08Speaker 1: goofed and bandied about we were that that idea because
- 43:12Speaker 1: we were a little ahead of it. And I remember
- 43:15Speaker 1: distinctly talking about the fact that people are going to
- 43:17Speaker 1: think they know that the janitor's name is Neil Flynn now,
- 43:20Speaker 1: and they did. They reacted with an uproar, but they're wrong.
- 43:23Speaker 1: They're wrong. His name is Glenn math Hoof. I feel
- 43:27Speaker 1: terribly that I didn't watch the episode. Yeah, you're supposed
- 43:29Speaker 1: to watch the spot but it's okay, But you know,
- 43:32Speaker 1: I supposed. I didn't know that, did you, Guys? I
- 43:34Speaker 1: didn't know. I'm sorry. Well, I do want to say,
- 43:38Speaker 1: even though I care about you a great deal, that
- 43:40Speaker 1: you're not the you're not really crushing the assignment as
- 43:43Speaker 1: best first writer because you didn't watch an episode of
- 43:46Speaker 1: the show that you yourself wrote. Well, I didn't know
- 43:49Speaker 1: I was supposed to, but you said you listen to
- 43:51Speaker 1: the show though you know it's a rewatch show. Gabby,
- 43:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna quote the lyrics to America's favorite song Scrubs
- 43:56Speaker 1: Rewatch Show with Zach and Dan h terrible. I feel
- 44:04Speaker 1: like gonna know, well, every other writer will be told
- 44:08Speaker 1: what we will now. I bet you Neil will be
- 44:10Speaker 1: better prepared to call them the we will tell them,
- 44:16Speaker 1: we will use, we will use what we'll from here
- 44:18Speaker 1: on out, be called the Gabby example about how you
- 44:21Speaker 1: need to watch the episode. I'm not gonna lie, Gabby.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I'm just happy. I'm just so happy. We're just happy
- 44:28Speaker 1: to see you. I'm going to I'm sorry, I'm failing
- 44:31Speaker 1: you guys. No, no, no, you're not. You're doing such
- 44:33Speaker 1: a great listen as a fellow member of the tribe.
- 44:35Speaker 1: As a fellow member of the tribe, I don't want
- 44:37Speaker 1: you to spiral a weekend about this. You are amazing
- 44:39Speaker 1: kind you And what we'll probably do is what we'll
- 44:44Speaker 1: probably do is hire a sound like and and that
- 44:47Speaker 1: edits some some knowledgeable things from the episode in okay,
- 44:52Speaker 1: and I don't have to grow myself. All right, Look,
- 44:56Speaker 1: we're gonna go to a break. Yeah, we're gonna break.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And when we come back, we have a fan, Gabby,
- 44:59Speaker 1: you don't listen to show, but we have a fan.
- 45:00Speaker 1: The next question and I'll bet you the fan watch
- 45:04Speaker 1: the fucking episode. I'll be right back and we're back. Gobby.
- 45:17Speaker 1: What show are you doing now? I hear you have
- 45:19Speaker 1: a new show. Oh, thank you for asking, Zach and Donald,
- 45:22Speaker 1: thank you for asking. Uh my partner Jen Krittenden and
- 45:27Speaker 1: I are creating, are running a show called Housebroken. It's
- 45:31Speaker 1: a comedy. It's an animated show that will be on
- 45:35Speaker 1: Fox May seventeen, twenty one. We created it with Clea
- 45:39Speaker 1: Duval deep uh oh yeah. And it is about animals
- 45:47Speaker 1: and group therapy. So it's about a dog who has
- 45:50Speaker 1: group therapy for the neighborhood pets when her owner goes
- 45:54Speaker 1: to work for the day and all the pets come
- 45:56Speaker 1: together in her living room and bitch and moan about
- 45:59Speaker 1: their own nerves and each other, and this poodle voiced
- 46:03Speaker 1: by Lisa kudro uh takes some through their therapy. You know, Gabby,
- 46:08Speaker 1: I read for your pilot, like I read for like
- 46:10Speaker 1: five different characters. I didn't get one. Oh you know, Gabby,
- 46:15Speaker 1: I know I did a poor I know I did
- 46:17Speaker 1: a poor job, but damn I read five character, not one,
- 46:21Speaker 1: and I was one. Listen, I was. I'm literally fucking chicken.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Little Chicken, Little can't be one of the You guys
- 46:28Speaker 1: are both gonna be on it. I don't know if
- 46:30Speaker 1: you know, but I know the shows can star Wars
- 46:33Speaker 1: for a little bit for Disney. I mean, I'm just saying,
- 46:36Speaker 1: you guys don't have to audition. Donald. I'm sorry that
- 46:40Speaker 1: you had to go through that. You're both be on it.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I'm not. I would be honored if you had both
- 46:46Speaker 1: read for a dog. You know what. I want to say.
- 46:50Speaker 1: This is terrible and I'm sweating in my closet. That's
- 46:54Speaker 1: because that's because the air doesn't go in the closets.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I just can't wait for there to be a call,
- 46:59Speaker 1: like they really want Chicken Little to come on this
- 47:02Speaker 1: animal therapy show. What I'm gonna say, no, No, Chicken
- 47:05Speaker 1: Little's fucking saying no. I'm gonna say yes. I'm gonna say, Donald, Donald,
- 47:09Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I'm sorry, Zach. Can I tell just
- 47:13Speaker 1: you know, we're actors, Gabby. Anytime we hear about anyone
- 47:15Speaker 1: getting a job, we have to be like, why didn't
- 47:17Speaker 1: you give us that job? I'm sorry. I mean, Lisa
- 47:19Speaker 1: Kudrow is great, but come on, Donald, Oh, she's not
- 47:26Speaker 1: really awkward. And it's all right, you're doing great, You're
- 47:30Speaker 1: doing great. Let's let the guests in because this will
- 47:35Speaker 1: this will be. Now is your time to shine, Gabby,
- 47:37Speaker 1: because the guests always has a problem and we're gonna
- 47:39Speaker 1: help fix their life. All right, Let's okay, I can
- 47:42Speaker 1: do that. Yes, you're probably good at giving advice a mom. Alright,
- 47:45Speaker 1: both guests, Oh, both guests, Joel, what do you have
- 47:47Speaker 1: cooked up here today? What's going on? Oh, it's a couple.
- 47:52Speaker 1: They have a sweet story. And oh my god, Oh,
- 47:58Speaker 1: Lauren McCormick and Sam welcome to show. Oh my god,
- 48:10Speaker 1: you're fucking I've altered up out your head. You remember
- 48:13Speaker 1: in Peebe's Big Adventure in Large March, goes like that.
- 48:15Speaker 1: That's what happened to Donald. You guys, welcome to the program.
- 48:19Speaker 1: In addition to Daniel and Joelle and Donald and I,
- 48:23Speaker 1: you have one of our all star writers, Gabby Greenberg
- 48:26Speaker 1: right there and Gabby Alan Greenberg. Sorry, I married hyphen
- 48:31Speaker 1: it and tell us we hear you guys have some
- 48:34Speaker 1: special story involving your love. Yeah, let me guess you
- 48:41Speaker 1: guys are on two different coasts and are married. I'm
- 48:44Speaker 1: just going off the top here. I'm thinking it's just
- 48:47Speaker 1: me coming up with that idea. It's like a Sleepless
- 48:50Speaker 1: in Seattle type but only over zoom. Am I correct
- 48:55Speaker 1: that kind of I tell you, tell us, tell us
- 49:00Speaker 1: what the story is, guys. So yeah, go ahead. Yeah.
- 49:05Speaker 1: So we're both doctors and we met at university and
- 49:11Speaker 1: so we did a degree before we did medicine, so
- 49:14Speaker 1: we met her on that and I had never seen
- 49:18Speaker 1: Scrubs beforehand, and very very to say that, but Sam
- 49:25Speaker 1: was absolutely obsessed from like really yeah, so yeah, we
- 49:33Speaker 1: just we watched a lot of Scrubs and the early
- 49:35Speaker 1: days of Gone On, and he bought me the DVD
- 49:37Speaker 1: box sets and Scrubs just became like our thing. So
- 49:40Speaker 1: whenever we got into medicine, it was it was really
- 49:42Speaker 1: good because we were able to like answer some of
- 49:44Speaker 1: the questions and yes, we watched Scrubs and like all
- 49:47Speaker 1: of our study breaks and yeah, basically got us through you.
- 49:50Speaker 1: So it's been a really really big part of our stands.
- 49:56Speaker 1: And now you guys are married. Yeah yeah, yeah, you
- 50:00Speaker 1: look like you're at at at work because you're in
- 50:03Speaker 1: the scrubs. Yeah. Just I just finished like half an
- 50:05Speaker 1: hour ago. I just finished whips. And where are you
- 50:08Speaker 1: guys based? So I'm the Ulster Hospital. So we're in
- 50:14Speaker 1: Northern Ireland and so my hospital is just right side
- 50:17Speaker 1: Belfast and Sam's is two hours away from there. Oh no,
- 50:24Speaker 1: I'm not wrong about you guys together. It's not a
- 50:28Speaker 1: big country, but so usually when couples come on the show.
- 50:32Speaker 1: They're sitting right next to each other and everything, and
- 50:35Speaker 1: so how often do you get to see one another?
- 50:38Speaker 1: It sort of depends. So I live. We live quite
- 50:43Speaker 1: close to where I work, so I'm home pretty much
- 50:45Speaker 1: every night. And obviously it's not sustainable really for sand
- 50:48Speaker 1: the driver U from down to yours yours one way
- 50:51Speaker 1: twice a day, and so really just whenever we're off together,
- 50:55Speaker 1: which really doesn't happen very often. So next weekend I
- 50:59Speaker 1: am on and Sam's off and not just really, wow, well,
- 51:05Speaker 1: how long do you want to be doctors? For? Retire?
- 51:10Speaker 1: Or hopefully's married to last longer than the Men'll already
- 51:20Speaker 1: through your zoom vibe, but you're gonna be together for
- 51:22Speaker 1: a while. He was already ahead, Baby, whatever you want,
- 51:27Speaker 1: you say, it hurt and it'll last a long time. Yeah,
- 51:30Speaker 1: that's true if you want to each other. But I
- 51:33Speaker 1: feel sad about it. It made me think of that
- 51:35Speaker 1: song from American Tale, Somewhere out there and need the
- 51:39Speaker 1: pebbly night singing it, Someone's thinking of me and wishing
- 51:46Speaker 1: me good night somewhere out there. Go ahead, someone singing
- 51:53Speaker 1: a prayer that will find one another, and that great
- 51:59Speaker 1: somewhere out even though I know we are something we
- 52:07Speaker 1: might say Brad Star And when the night wind starts
- 52:13Speaker 1: to sing a lonesome lullabye, it helps to think we're
- 52:18Speaker 1: sleeping underneath the same big sky, oh somewhere for Sam
- 52:29Speaker 1: and Lauren. Can she see us? Love? Love can see us?
- 52:37Speaker 1: All right? All right, enough we get sued. We're about
- 52:41Speaker 1: to get sued by the Dawn Bluth movie American Tale.
- 52:45Speaker 1: I just think of this. I always think of star
- 52:48Speaker 1: Cross lovers at least going at least we're looking at
- 52:51Speaker 1: the same moon. So that's why I think of you guys. Look,
- 52:54Speaker 1: you know, when you say star Cross lovers, that reminds
- 52:56Speaker 1: me of another thing. I hate to do this to Lauren,
- 52:59Speaker 1: but it also reminds me Taylor Swift, because that's what
- 53:01Speaker 1: I thought she said, got a long list of ex lovers,
- 53:04Speaker 1: I thought she said. I thought she said something like
- 53:06Speaker 1: star Cross lover. Is this too? I'm going to Yeah,
- 53:09Speaker 1: that's the weed, the weeds kicking in. Now. You guys
- 53:11Speaker 1: don't have probably legal weed in in Northern Ireland, but
- 53:15Speaker 1: Donald really partakes. And they're also doctors, dude, they're doctors, man, doctors.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Now you can get an abortion now, right, So that's good.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Bring it to person, would rather get high, but whatever.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Victories where we all? Right? Do you guys have a
- 53:41Speaker 1: question for for any of us? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, sweet
- 53:48Speaker 1: honey in Disney Worlds last summer. So we're big Disney fans,
- 53:52Speaker 1: big sweet Disney world where Orlando, Florida, Florida. Yeah, okay,
- 53:59Speaker 1: I'm sweet. If there was any kind of steam park,
- 54:01Speaker 1: attraction or area you could create, what would it be? Oh,
- 54:05Speaker 1: if you could create your speaking of the right guy, Tom,
- 54:07Speaker 1: what would you create? And you can't say Star Wars?
- 54:09Speaker 1: Because please? Can's? Okay? I guess you can. Sam's a guest,
- 54:14Speaker 1: He says it can. Sam. Are you a big Star
- 54:15Speaker 1: Wars fan as well? Yeah? Okay, so what are you
- 54:18Speaker 1: gonna already? Man? Have you been watching it already? Yeah?
- 54:23Speaker 1: I lost the first episode? Have you seen the se
- 54:25Speaker 1: You haven't seen a second one? Right, don't blo the
- 54:28Speaker 1: fans on what world? Are you going to create? A
- 54:30Speaker 1: theme park? First of all? Fuck you? Second, if I
- 54:35Speaker 1: had to build a world and it was a theme park,
- 54:37Speaker 1: I would want to build an a very very immersive
- 54:41Speaker 1: world in like some type of future reality type thing.
- 54:47Speaker 1: It doesn't necessarily have to be Star Wars, but just
- 54:49Speaker 1: something something different. I think if we go future, you
- 54:52Speaker 1: can go heavy roller coaster, you can go heavy simulator,
- 54:55Speaker 1: you can go heavy you know, or I mean, because Westworld.
- 55:01Speaker 1: The only way that works is if it's all like
- 55:03Speaker 1: you know, if you can you know, get if you
- 55:06Speaker 1: could get that deep into a universe, that would be great.
- 55:08Speaker 1: So but I would personally want to do something futuristic
- 55:12Speaker 1: and you know, something that's a little bit of a
- 55:15Speaker 1: darker future for us. We're you know, we're cybernetic or
- 55:20Speaker 1: you know, like a ready player one kind of thing.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Sounds like what you're saying. I like that idea, but
- 55:25Speaker 1: I also like the idea of like Elysium or what
- 55:31Speaker 1: was the one with the District nine. I like that type.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Those are those are some really dope sci fi movies
- 55:38Speaker 1: to me, And that seems like that could be our future.
- 55:41Speaker 1: With all this pollution that we're doing and all of
- 55:43Speaker 1: these you know, all of this, uh looking into cloning
- 55:47Speaker 1: and looking into cybernet you know, we can build legs now,
- 55:51Speaker 1: we're working on arms. I feel like that would be
- 55:54Speaker 1: more of our future. So I would want to build
- 55:55Speaker 1: something that I think would be close to it. And
- 55:58Speaker 1: see if I was right. Like Back to the Future
- 56:00Speaker 1: was pretty close to the Cubs winning the World Series.
- 56:03Speaker 1: I would want to be close to something like I'm
- 56:05Speaker 1: gonna go the opposite way and say, I would build
- 56:07Speaker 1: the Goonies. Oh yes, and you would go on the
- 56:14Speaker 1: Quest everything chester Copper Pot. It would be you would
- 56:17Speaker 1: be trying to find Chester Copper Pot with your group.
- 56:20Speaker 1: It would combine. Oh, you would actually do like a
- 56:22Speaker 1: real like the real Goonies movie. You would just go
- 56:27Speaker 1: Scavenger Hunt and now make it sick and no, it's
- 56:30Speaker 1: the size of Disneyland, but it's Goonies. If that's the case,
- 56:34Speaker 1: I would do total recall. Okay, if you gotta go
- 56:38Speaker 1: on movies, Okay, Next question, guys, Next question, Did playing
- 56:42Speaker 1: doctors ever make you want to actually be a doctor
- 56:44Speaker 1: or no? If anything, playing a doctor made me realize
- 56:50Speaker 1: I did not want to be a doctor. Well for
- 56:54Speaker 1: me made guys. You guys have a very difficult job
- 56:57Speaker 1: that requires saving people, and there's a lot of pressure
- 57:01Speaker 1: in that and sometimes you're going to fail and I
- 57:05Speaker 1: don't know how well I could handle that. And you
- 57:08Speaker 1: have to have a lot of stamina and a lot
- 57:13Speaker 1: of constitution to be able to do such things. I
- 57:17Speaker 1: actually did CPR on someone and they did not survive. Yeah,
- 57:23Speaker 1: are you serious? I never told you that story. Are
- 57:27Speaker 1: you serious? Act? Yeah. I was a part of a
- 57:29Speaker 1: rescue squad team in high school. I was the junior person,
- 57:34Speaker 1: so don't get me wrong. They were paramedics, there were EMTs,
- 57:37Speaker 1: and I was like the cadet. You know, they had
- 57:39Speaker 1: a cadet program to train. It was kind of the
- 57:41Speaker 1: show seventeen eighty year olds, Would you want to pursue medicine?
- 57:44Speaker 1: That's how I saw it. And I went on I
- 57:46Speaker 1: don't know about one hundred calls, and only maybe five
- 57:49Speaker 1: of them were super serious. Yeah, And then on one
- 57:52Speaker 1: of them, I was one of the people participating in
- 57:55Speaker 1: doing CPR, obviously with paramedics and EMTs next to me,
- 57:58Speaker 1: but we all took turns with the compression and that
- 58:01Speaker 1: person did not ever come back. And I think early
- 58:04Speaker 1: on I was like, Wow, I don't know that I
- 58:06Speaker 1: could have this be a regular part of my life.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I've always always had such admiration for people that could
- 58:13Speaker 1: could do That's that's some hero stuff right there. Man,
- 58:16Speaker 1: that's true hero stuff. To the other aspect of it
- 58:18Speaker 1: is is that I think Donald and I would both
- 58:20Speaker 1: admit that we're not academics and the amount of school
- 58:25Speaker 1: and well, you're more acade. Your your academic level is
- 58:28Speaker 1: way more than mine. You graduated Northwestern, right, I graduated
- 58:32Speaker 1: my professional children school, and then a lot of that
- 58:34Speaker 1: ship was on favors from my teachers. All right, well,
- 58:38Speaker 1: I can say that neither one of us had the
- 58:41Speaker 1: commitment to studying that you guys needed to have. And
- 58:46Speaker 1: so we applaud our medical heroes for that and for
- 58:49Speaker 1: being able to do CPR and sometimes not bring someone
- 58:53Speaker 1: back and go Okay, onward, here we go, and I
- 58:56Speaker 1: think we all applaud that. All right, what kind of
- 58:59Speaker 1: medicine are you guys? And before we move forward? And
- 59:03Speaker 1: so over here we do like, yeah, foundation training and
- 59:06Speaker 1: then you decide sort of what you want to do
- 59:08Speaker 1: after that and specialize the we're still within the like
- 59:10Speaker 1: foundation training, so we haven't actually subspecialized yet. But yeah,
- 59:14Speaker 1: there's a lot of choice for nature of where the
- 59:18Speaker 1: characters are in scrubs. Are you guys are very you
- 59:21Speaker 1: guys are like internship? Yeah, Well, I think you guys
- 59:26Speaker 1: need to have your lives fixed because we got to
- 59:28Speaker 1: solve this this separated thing. Gabby, we do a segment
- 59:32Speaker 1: now called fix your Life, and it's time. Donald's ready,
- 59:35Speaker 1: it is time to fix your life. And I don't
- 59:42Speaker 1: know if you're going to bring up this separated lovers thing.
- 59:45Speaker 1: But how can we help? Okay? So my wife asked
- 59:53Speaker 1: me pretty much every day when we can? Yeah, when
- 59:57Speaker 1: you can have kids? Yes, you know about Laura. There
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: she is. There's our girl, and I am great idea,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: definitely her feature. But I also I also think with
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the being an alp side of the country and very
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: difficult schedules, it's still right another. But I guess no, Donald,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I'm Donald? Or does both you guys? Is there ever wait, Daniel,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: you're a dad? No? No, Donald's resident Donald resident dad.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I'm normly dad on yeah, do you panic? I love
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: how Daniel's face was like, hello, all right, what's your question?
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: How how can we help? Is there ever a good
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: time to have what to have kids? Yeah? Or do something?
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Ma good time? Uh? Wow, Gabby, you could totally talk
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: about that. Let's give I'll be a chance to talk,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: because this is something Gabby can speak to speak to you. No,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: you can speak on so many things. Look, when it
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: happens it happens, no matter when it happens. If you
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: want it to happen and it happens, it's always a
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: great thing, you know. And sometimes a surprise is a
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: great thing too. I'm someone who's had several surprises in
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: his life and so uh and they all are the
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: most amazing things that I've ever experienced, over and over again.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: And so if you guys are into it and you
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: want to do it, it's always a good time. If
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you're not into it, it and it just so happens, Yeah,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: you have a decision to make, but that's a good
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: time too, you know. Uh. And you're never ready, You're
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: never prepared, and so it doesn't matter. Gabby, what about you?
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on it? Uh? I think if
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: you want to do it, you do it, and you
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: just make it work. You know. It's one of those things.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Is it ever a good time? I mean for me personally,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I really felt and I know it's different for everybody
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: and everyone's situations are so different, but for me, I
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: really felt like I was ready. I really wanted to
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: have children. I felt ready to have children, and you know,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: life is always going to throw your curveballs and things
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: you're gonna shift and change, and you just I think
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: you just have to have the attitude that you'll make
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: it work no matter what. And you do we have
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: to do if that's what you want, and h you know,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: but nobody knows better than you, guys, if it's the
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: right time. And I will say, you know, it's the
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: most annoying, hardest job ever ever, but you know it's
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: it's one that you will you never regret. I mean,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: you were always you're always happy. You can't imagine. It's like,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: it's like you can't imagine your life without it, and
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: you don't want to. But man is it. It's hard.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: So I'm not going to sugarcoat it. You know, it's hard.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: It's great and it's great, Donald, I mean like it's
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: great and it's and then when you're bitching and bitching
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: and bitching and bitching about it all the time, then
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: you miss every phase terribly. Like my kids are not
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: thirteen and sixteen. I'm desperately miss like having the littles
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: and the cuddle time and I'm watching them, you know,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: you know, have autonomy and they don't want to hang
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: out with me anymore, and it's horribly heartbreaking after bitching
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: for years about how I had no free time. So
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: you know, it's it's just uh, but it's it's the
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: greatest thing. If you want it, it's the greatest thing.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: So I guess my advice would be, just make sure
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: you really want it, and then you'll make it work
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: no matter what. I guess. If you know, we never
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: really get huge, ringing endorsements for having children. Everybody who
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: anybody who comes on, it's no, but you know what,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: because what you get from people is the truth. Though. Man,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: that ship is the hardest thing you're ever gonna do
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: in your life, man, and and and Gabby's right. Kids
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: are so fucking annoying. Man, It's ridiculous, man, Like so annoying,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: like to the point where you want to strangle them,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: like you want literally you want to grab them and
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: choke them. But then you're like, but then I won't
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: have this anymore, and I have to have this forever. Absolutely,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: It's like it's like it's uh, it's such a I'm salivating,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that's how much I love my children. I think, like
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: everything in life, you just have to go into it
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: knowing that. And I think that's what people don't talk about.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: And that's why I like to talk about it honestly,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: is that there's there's your it's you gain so much
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: and that's the part that you know is amazing and
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: you'll never look back and grab it. You know, you
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: lose something too, and I think you always have to
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: weigh those things with every big step in life. You
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: know you're gonna you're you're gonna game while you lose,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: and it's complicated, and you just kind of I think
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you would go in with your eyes open. Then it'll
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: it's it's it's awesome, but it's definitely not for the
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: faint of hurt. But you're right about that. You are
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: gonna you are You do lose something, but you're gonna
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: get it back. But when you get it back, it's
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: just like you said everything. That's why maybe you know,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: having this podcast is like birth control. Yeah, bros, Oh
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: oh no, we lost her back? Get her back? Yeah?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Can I say something really quick? Yeah? Yeah, this want
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: to thank you guys for making this podcast. So like
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: when when the COVID started the first time, in the
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: first left one, the news was depressing. To be honest,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I stopped listening to the news. It was hard to
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: go to work every day and one the kisses we're
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: coming in. So I started listening to the podcast every
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: day on the way to work and I still did.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: It's the perfect length of them are and I'll have
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: to get me to from home to work. Yeah, thank
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: you so much for making this. You're very sweet. That's
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: very nice. You're a very nice man. And thank you
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: for dedicating your life to helping people. We really really
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: thank you and we love doing it. And the fact
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: that people feel that way, especially especially people in the
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: medical field, it warms our hearts. So thank you, all right,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: And I hope one day that I'm as soft spoken
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: as you are. I don't think it's going to happen.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I'm a loud mouth. I can be obnoxious, but one day,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: when I grow up, I want to be soft spoken
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: and maybe an Irish act. I really hope you've got
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: to get to spend some more time together. Yeah, can't
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: you get a job at this one hospital? Can Donald
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: make a call? I mean, how do we get you
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: cloud in Ireland? I'm gonna tell you right now. They Loveland, Ireland?
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: It Yeah, one day, one day, one day, all right, guys,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: we gotta go. But thank you so much and good luck.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Send us pictures, Send us pictures.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: When you do decide to have a baby, we want
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: to see it. Hi, guys, very sweet people. My computer froze.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Did you watch the episode real quick? And your time away?
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Were you able to watch the episode? Look, you guys,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you know I don't listen on Fridays. Oh, hopefully have
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: a new verse of the song. Gabby doesn't watch episode
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: she's supposed to watch on Fridays. You knew what you
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: were getting into. It's Friday. I told you, all right, looks,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: let's get gammy. You know something that I remember, just
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: to go back into this, Yeah, you're a big Star
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Wars fan. I ain't a big Star Wars fans. I knew.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I knew that. I remember. I did remember that because
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I remember being blown away and being like, I remember
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: we were outside and we were filming outside. It was
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: one of your shows, and I was like, and you
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: said something about Star Wars. And I was sitting at
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Video Village and I turned around and I kept trying
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: to have conversations with you guys about it, but there
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: was work to be done. But I was staying in
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Video Village and I said a few things and you're like, oh, absolutely,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: and then you ran off with something else. I was like,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: holy shit, she's a real Star Wars fan. This isn't
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: this isn't just you know, I'm a real Star Wars fan.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: I'm not as big a fan as you, because it's
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: definitely it's it's way, you know, just I don't watch
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: The Mandalorian, but you should. As someone who's not into
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Star Wars. It's the thing I like most, to be honest,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Oh really yeah. I find it very very entertaining, and
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: it's incredibly executed. And as a film geek, they're they're
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: doing things. The way they're shooting and technologically is like
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: brand new and interesting and probably the future of the
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: way they're going to do visual effects. And so it's, uh,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: it's John Favreau is just you know, uh, killing it,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: and and I just think it's really well done. It's
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: just crazy when you talk like when you say that,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: when you say John Favreau doing this, that's one of
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: those who knew, you know what I mean. He's kind
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: of like George Lucas who knew that they're his tech
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: and the things that he experienced while doing Lion King
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: and all of that stuff would be at the forefront.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: He's not just making cinema and television and movies and
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: stuff like that. He's in he's reinventing it. And yeah,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: but it's even more than the tech he learned on
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: all that stuff they're doing with Lion King and Jungle Book.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: It's like, you know, there's no there's no green screen,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: like if you you know, I know, if you want
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: to geek out, if you want to geek out, watch
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: behind the scenes of the man. No, I'm telling the
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: audience first of all, it's all everything you see there.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Like I'm just as an example, the Stormtroopers with Jason
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Sadikas in the middle of the desert. There's no desert,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: there's no it's all on stage. There's no exteriors. I mean,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: if there's an ex series, it's contained in a very
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: small area. It is all and there's no green screen.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: It is it is unbelievable technology. And and if you're
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: a film geek, it's something you should watch because it's
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: definitely going to be how more and more things are made.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: We should probably we should talk about Scrubs for a second,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: probably right this episode. Yeah, yeah, let's get into a
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: shafts Donald Fazon doing a big Shaft number. Who is
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: the doc that bon't cop out when no attendants are
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: about turk? Damn skippy. I've never seen a Shaft film,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: not even the ones with Sam Jackson. I don't know
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: if that's controversial or not. No, I've never seen I've
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: never seen the one with Sam Jackson, the one, the first,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: The first Shaft movie with Sam Jackson is everybody's introduction
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: to Jeffrey Wright. I suggest you go and check that
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: shit out, The one with Sam Jackson in it, the
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: first JAFF movie. Jeffrey Wright plays the bad guy. Kristen
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Bale's in it too, Jeffrey Wright, and and and uh
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: what's the old man? Oh? Such a great actress? How
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: could I forget her name? Vanessa Williams? No, no, no,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: but I'm saying, did you watch as a child? She
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: might be in it too, though she had such a
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: great actress? Did you as a child? No? But I
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: know Richard brown Tree is but did you watch Joelle
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: or Daniel or I'm assuming not you, Gabby. Did you
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: guys watch these sort of No? I wasn't allowed to.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I wasn't allowed to watch some of them because of
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: the content as a youth, but as I got older, Yes, absolutely, yeah,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: my dad did not bother with ratings or anything. We
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: watched all of the action movies, like, starting at six,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: watched Stormship Troopers when it came out, So he definitely
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: watched a lot of shaft. Yeah. Similarly, after the fact
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: rose a little bit older, my dad was like, let
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: me show you some other stuff. I was like, okay,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: let me show you the good shit. Like I like,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: I had to convince my parents to let me watch
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: the A Team. Dude, like that ship was tough. Oh really, Yeah.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: I had to tell him. I would be like, no
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: nobody dies in the A Team, Dad, It's just a
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: bunch of people getting thrown out of cars and stuff
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: like that. By the way, it's funny in the eight Team. Yeah,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: they specifically made it so no one everyone's firing machine guns,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: but no one gets hurt. No one ever gets shot.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: No one's like g I Joe the cartoon. They're always
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: like a plane blows up and then you see everyone
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: jump out. You see the parachute last second. Collette, Yes,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Tony Colette, great actress. I laughed about the janitor and
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: his multiple characters that he plays around the hospital. There's
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: this to talk about German, there's the British guy. I
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: want to talk about this also, because that's one thing
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: that we don't go into a lot, the janitor storyline.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: We kind of gloss over it every day. This was
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: one of those storylines though, where it was like this
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: could have been in This could have been an a
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: storyline and everybody would have been into it. It was
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: one of those very funny him him talking to you
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: and then the guy coming up today all right, Nigel,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: good night and him going good night. That shit fucking
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: had me laughed so hard, dude, And I don't mean
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to laugh at people who stutter, but that shit was
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: a great transition from him ragging with ragging on you
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: guys are so say dude. So I thought that was funny. Yeah,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I don't know how much we explored that as the
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: show went on, but the fact that everyone and no
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: one in the hospital really sees this same person he plays.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: He plays at least four people amongst the staff of
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Sacred Heart. It's like Nigel the stuttering guy, Klaus the German,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: and then there's a British guy, right, something like that.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: How about when night when I, oh, no, wait, but
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: it is Nigel. Nigel is the is the is the
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: British guy? Classic Nigel, Classic Nigel, who says classic Nigel.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: I thought when I take there as a flashback when
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I took an I'm bragging about saving an old man's
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: life and I bring him to a party and this
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: actor must be nine years old, but he goes. I
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: thought you said there'd be some bitches here, and I go,
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: we just got here, man, look around. It's always funny
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: when old people swear yes, it's easy, it always works.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I remember thinking this guy should not be like out
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: and about like this man. This man, this man needs
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to be at home in bed. I mean he was
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: so old. How about Doc from the Love Boat but yeah,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Doc from the Love Boat Bertie Copel, Yes, yeah he was, Yeah,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: yeah it was. That was cool. And Sarah I thought
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: was was very good in this episode when she she
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: loses him but she kind of hushed around. I thought
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: it was interesting contrast from the pilot us running when
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: there's a code and hiding in the closet to now
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: running to compete to who can get the glory for
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: trying to save somebody's life. It was you know this.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Many episodes later, I noticed that they had to find
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: a way to get Elliott back to one in a
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: lot of ways, because when we last left off, Elliot's
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: on the come up, right, So she has a boyfriend,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: her job is, she's doing great at her job, her
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: confidence level is at it's all time high. Right, And
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: then we stopped talking about her for a couple of
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: only a couple of episodes. We now focus on JD's
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: new love interest for two episodes, and when we come
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: back to Elliott, now she's starting to unravel again and
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: she talks about it in the show too, but she
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: she puts it off on JD, like, all of this
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: is happening to me because of how you reacted to
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: our breakup. Well, she's saying, she's saying, you're not over it.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: You're just using Tara Reid's character Danny Ash trying to
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: make me jealous. Right, You're clearly just being a dick
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: because you still have feelings for me and you're mad
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: at me, and you're being passive aggressive, that's what she's saying.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: But this goes back to what we were talking about
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: in the last episode, where she was teasing you where
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: she was, where she was doing all of these things
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: like bending over in front of you and smacking your
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: ass and yawning in front of you. And we asked
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: the question whether that was on purpose or by accident,
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: if she knew she was doing it, or was she
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: playing with j D. And now we come to this
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: episode and it definitely feels like she was fucking with
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: j D back then and she's doing and now and
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: now now all of those things that worked aren't working
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: because his focus is on uh, Danny, it's it's on
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: tera Ree's character. I don't really think he likes Danny
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: that much. I think that, you know, obviously, I think
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: she's I think she's absolutely right, But I think TERA's
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: about I mean, I'm sorry, I think Elliot's absolutely right
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: about what's going on with JD. This is what makes
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: the show so fucking dope, you know what I mean?
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Like you come back to it now and you can
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: recognize all of this stuff in your life or you've
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: seen it in your friend's life and everything like that.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: When we were going through this, I didn't I couldn't
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: see any Like I watched the doctor Cox character and
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: the Jordan character, and that that really entertains me, not
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: so much with the with Us anymore, like Turk JD
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: and Elliot's fun to watch, but really, where I get
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: my where I get my meat, and the things that
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: I can relate to now are with the Cox character
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: and with the you know, the mentor character and having
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: to and maybe it's because I'm getting older, but it
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: just shows how you're going through that stage of your life.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: But it just shows how great this show is. It's like,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: all right, everybody can find something in here, whether you're
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: a beginner or you're a veteran, you know what I mean.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: There's something in here for everyone. There's comedy and life
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: lessons in here for everyone. It's easy to find. And
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: that's what makes this show so dope. What about when
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Todd says I'm not allowed to call you vagina face? Right?
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: That should have me roll? Oh wait, hold up, so
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: he could call it right? He could go Wait, I
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: broke those down. He's all, wait, so he could call
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: you smell it, but I'm not allowed to call you
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: vagina face. And she's like getting different Todd. I love
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: the Todd so much. He holds a special place in
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: my heart. He really gets a lot of laughs. I
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: gotta tell you that it's always funny. The high fives
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: are always funny. Yeah, another thing I was thinking about,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: and this is just food for thought for all of
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: the fans out there. It would have been interesting to see,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you know, we talk about JD's joining and this is
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: how JD you know, and at the end he finds
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Elliott and they go off together and live happily ever after.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Another version of this show is her side of the story,
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: you know. And I know we tried to do it
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: with the uh with the spinoff and everything uh and
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and and and carry Bische's character on the show and
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: trying to show somebody who was a lot like JD.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: But Elliott in so many ways. You know, that inner
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: monologue would be crazy to listen to. Uh And So
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: I within watching this show. I'm really looking forward because
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: of this show. I'm really looking forward to when it's
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: her story. Yeah. Yeah, and you're gonna get that coming up.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: It's coming up, people. I think we did it, guys.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: That's oh one last thing. Yeah, the Naked Rule? Did
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: you not? Did you did that skip over you guys?
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Did you guys not catch the Naked Rule? So Carlo
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: says something that said something to Turk and it was
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: like a It was like, I'm gonna help you. I
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: need you to help me move some stuff. But she
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: was naked when he when she said it, and he
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: was like, oh yeah, absolutely, no problem. He said. Yeah.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: He's like, so from here on out, the naked rules
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: and effect, you can't ask me to do anything when
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: when when when when you're naked. And she's like all right, fine,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: he goes, I love the naked rule that he used
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: to retroactively. Yeah, and right, I'm gonna use it so
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I can use it retroactively. Right when you said, Donald,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: you said this woman was the young Carla Espinoza when
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: you call the nurse you said she was you were
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: you were saying you said about carl like she's the
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: young Carla Espinoza about some other woman. Yeah, he's trying
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: to explain, like put you you had the hospital. He
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: thought she was attractive or something like she's the young you. Right,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: that's the true that's a true story based on Rob
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: my husband telling me that this girl that he thought
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: was attractive was the young Gabby Allen and thought that
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: that sounded like a compliment. He's like, but she's the
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: young Gabby Allen. Oh that was spripped from the headlines
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: of My Life. Does your husband play? Does your husband
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: play golf? No? He does not? He does it interesting? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you should really get him into it right now. Okay,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: you'll never see him again. I'm Gabby. Next time you
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: have to watch the episode. Yes, obviously, again, it was
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: fun to have you because you're but we always we
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: always record on Friday too. Yes, okay, well, if you
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: guys give me another chance, we will in the world
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: everything and I will do we can let the fans vote.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: No no no no no no no no no no
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: no no no no no no. Okay, I'll take notes
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: and I'll be so perhaps such a good student, I
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: would be prepared. All right, this was really fun things
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: always good to see you. It's great to see you,
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: see you guys, good to see you. And and hey, fans,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: thanks for tuning in to the program. And uh we
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: we appreciate you for listening. We we love to hear
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: that you're you're liking it, especially like our guests who
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: said he it's perfect timing for his commute. Let's just
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: let's before we before we close out. I just want
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: to put it out there, man, our frontline workers are
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: back in the hospitals once again, all throughout the world.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: Throughout the world, we're seeing spikes in COVID, and our
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: doctors and our nurses, and our everyone who works in medicine,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: and our frontline workers who work on the streets and
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: in stores to support all of our you know, glorious
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: habits and stuff like that. We need to really shout
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: them out and give them a lot of love because
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: we're going right back into this dangerous territory and they're
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: on the front lines facing it head on. So shout
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: out to all of the frontline workers, whether no matter
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: what it is you do, if you are an essential worker,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: if you are in somebody's face and you have to
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: worry about them coughing or breathing on you, shout out
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: to you. God, bless you. I'm bless you, and please
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: be safe everybody, and we love you. Thank you to Daniel,
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: thank you to Joelle, Thank you to Gabby Alan Greenberg.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: And and now we sing this song. Donald do it.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: My six seven night stories about Shure we made about
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: a bunch of docs and nurses and the janitor who
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: loved me. Here said he's the stories. Netel should no
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: so gathering around you. Here are gathering around you, Here
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: are respect for you, Watch your wisd
