- 0:00Speaker 1: Just take the pill.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It's one more thing.
- 0:05Speaker 1: One more. I love it when Michael leads the podcast. No, yes,
- 0:11Speaker 1: just take the pill, you said, do tell. I am intrigued.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Okay, So I've been trying to get healthy along with
- 0:20Speaker 2: my wife. So we're both going to the gym together.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Good for you doing It's almost every day now, so
- 0:24Speaker 2: we're doing really well.
- 0:25Speaker 1: What do you mostly do yourself?
- 0:26Speaker 3: Great?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, cardio and then a waits a few.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Days a week. What's your cardio of choice?
- 0:32Speaker 2: We're doing the recumbent bike.
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's a recumbent bike. I do not even know.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Basically, it's a sit down bicycle. Okay, So I'm doing
- 0:39Speaker 2: that and I do about forty five minutes to an hour.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Wow, Joe. Joe might know the answer to this because
- 0:44Speaker 1: he does a lot of exercise. What what is? Because
- 0:46Speaker 1: I see these all over the place. What's the in
- 0:48Speaker 1: theory advantage of a bicycle where you're sitting as opposed
- 0:51Speaker 1: to sitting up on top of them?
- 0:53Speaker 4: It's easier on your prostate for one thing, I don't
- 0:55Speaker 4: imagine the lovely missus Michael is worried about that.
- 0:59Speaker 1: So you get all the benefits of the peddling without
- 1:02Speaker 1: sitting on that tiny little seat and bent over. Yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 1: more uncomfortable. It makes sense.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I always I was always an elliptical man, because you know,
- 1:09Speaker 4: it works all sorts of body groups, these legs, your corey,
- 1:11Speaker 4: your arms while getting your heart rate up. But my
- 1:15Speaker 4: back doctor doesn't my trainer guy doesn't want me to
- 1:18Speaker 4: doing that.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I got a great elliptical machine in my living room.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I mean a really top notch from a gym elliptical machine.
- 1:25Speaker 4: It's so I give you ten bucks for it is
- 1:29Speaker 4: supposed to use it being used as an elliptical or
- 1:31Speaker 4: a clothing rack.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I've had it for seven years. I've probably cumulative been
- 1:39Speaker 1: on it eleven minutes in seven years.
- 1:44Speaker 4: That's that's significantly more than a minute a year though,
- 1:46Speaker 4: So that's pretty good.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And you got to build up from that, use that
- 1:49Speaker 1: as as starting place, and then right next year try
- 1:52Speaker 1: to get on it for two minutes. Oh yeah, you
- 1:53Speaker 1: don't want to hurt yourself back to.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Two minutes for the whole year, right, Yes, So.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I can do treadmill anymore because of the ulster that
- 2:01Speaker 2: I had from diabetes to my foot. It is healed up.
- 2:04Speaker 2: But they're a little bit worried that if I keep
- 2:05Speaker 2: pounding on, it'll reopen. So I just wish to recumbent.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Okay, welcome to Ulcer Talk.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So no, so my wife and I we know anything.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Else it's about to open back up again? Or can
- 2:17Speaker 1: we move on to now? We're all good?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Label this podcast? Joe disavows. It's the matter with you people.
- 2:31Speaker 2: So the wife and I are at Costco and mind you,
- 2:33Speaker 2: we've been working out, okay, and we see somebody that
- 2:36Speaker 2: we recognize that we used to go to the gym with,
- 2:38Speaker 2: and we hadn't seen her for about eight or nine months.
- 2:40Speaker 2: And we look and we say, is that such and such?
- 2:43Speaker 2: And I go, I think it is. So I walk
- 2:46Speaker 2: over there and I go are you? And she goes, hey,
- 2:48Speaker 2: how's it going? And she recognizes my wife and I
- 2:51Speaker 2: and she looks fantastic. Wow, I mean, her body is amazing.
- 2:55Speaker 2: And it's just like, well, now here's what happened.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So I say, hey, her body on a hold on.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I didn't say it quite that way. I said, that's
- 3:06Speaker 2: such and such. I said, wow, she looks like she's
- 3:08Speaker 2: lost a lot of weight. And my wife says, yeah, yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 2: she has it looks like And then so she comes
- 3:13Speaker 2: over and she starts talking to us and says, hey, guys,
- 3:16Speaker 2: how's it going, and you know, good good? So are
- 3:18Speaker 2: you still going the gym? I guess you've been doing
- 3:20Speaker 2: gym working stuff. She goes, oh, no, I've quit the
- 3:22Speaker 2: gym completely. I'm doing I'm doing injections now, and she's
- 3:27Speaker 2: doing the ozembic and something else that she's I was
- 3:31Speaker 2: nauseous for like eight months, She's all, but it's finally
- 3:34Speaker 2: gone away, and I've been able to eat junk, and
- 3:38Speaker 2: you know, I've lost all this weight. And she looked incredible,
- 3:41Speaker 2: but at the same time she was saying, you know,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I can he junk. I don't have to go to
- 3:47Speaker 2: the gym anymore. And my wife and I are looking
- 3:49Speaker 2: at each other because we're working so hard. Yeah, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: our progress is so slow.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Right, there's a combination of it. It is hard, it's
- 3:57Speaker 1: time consuming, and it is slow.
- 4:01Speaker 3: But the way you guys are doing it is sustainable.
- 4:03Speaker 3: This ozempic stuff. I mean, you hear all the stories
- 4:06Speaker 3: about as soon as people get off of it, they
- 4:09Speaker 3: balloon back even more.
- 4:10Speaker 1: We what if you just stay on it though the
- 4:12Speaker 1: rest of your life.
- 4:13Speaker 4: It's expensive, of course, I've known plenty of people me
- 4:17Speaker 4: who've dieted and exercised and lost a lot of weight
- 4:20Speaker 4: and then the same thing happens. Yeah, right, you claim,
- 4:24Speaker 4: you may claim it's sustainable.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But right, I've done that. So what am I talking about? Yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: the fact almost everybody regains their weight back, I mean statistically,
- 4:33Speaker 1: So yeah, it's not just ozempic you can do. You
- 4:36Speaker 1: can do the good hard workout every day, eat right,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and gain it back like like ninety percent of people do.
- 4:43Speaker 4: On the other hand, so Michael Angelo, do you have
- 4:45Speaker 4: a point of view? Are you advocating for the injection
- 4:49Speaker 4: or the pill or something.
- 4:49Speaker 2: That's what this is about. Actually, I was asking my wife.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You know, she walked away and I looked at my
- 4:54Speaker 2: wife and I said.
- 4:55Speaker 4: After watching her ask I went right, damn, yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 2: She did look good.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I gotta admit, look at that. Now.
- 5:04Speaker 2: My wife she's all, I know what you saw, and
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'm all, yeah, yeah, I know. But I said, we're
- 5:10Speaker 2: doing it slow, but I'm happy with what we're doing. Yeah,
- 5:13Speaker 2: And we are talking on the way home, you know,
- 5:15Speaker 2: should we try that? And then she said no, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 2: I do not want to be monocious for eight months?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Right, Well, putting that aside, though I see the appeal
- 5:27Speaker 4: end or value of losing the weight more quickly. But
- 5:30Speaker 4: don't forget your heart, your lungs, your bones, your muscles,
- 5:33Speaker 4: everything is benefiting from this, whereas that gal's just skinnier.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Right, That's what I told you is an excellent point,
- 5:39Speaker 1: right there. Joe Getty throws in and.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Thank you, thank you so much.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And your brain, from something I was just reading about,
- 5:44Speaker 1: really helps you. Exercising is so good for your brain
- 5:46Speaker 1: and holding off dementia and all these different sorts of
- 5:48Speaker 1: things that those zimpias or whatever it's called is not
- 5:51Speaker 1: going to help with. But I can certainly understand that
- 5:54Speaker 1: because like right now, I'm not exercising, uh as much
- 5:58Speaker 1: as i'd like to, but i am. I've been very
- 6:00Speaker 1: disciplined eating wise now for about three weeks, and it's
- 6:02Speaker 1: a freaking battle all day every day. I mean, it's NonStop,
- 6:06Speaker 1: every moment you're awake to be just I'm trying to
- 6:10Speaker 1: get back to used to being hungry, because it feels
- 6:12Speaker 1: to me like, if you're gonna lose weight, you just
- 6:14Speaker 1: got to get used to being hungry all the time.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Agreed. Yeah, Now, the other day when you were constantly
- 6:19Speaker 4: on the verge of vomiting. I'll bet you didn't overeat,
- 6:21Speaker 4: did you? One more vote for Ozepic.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It's interesting in the middle of my uh eating well,
- 6:30Speaker 1: that I had that spell. But anyway, yeah, I can
- 6:33Speaker 1: understand why they'd be frustrating, because eating right is a
- 6:36Speaker 1: pain constantly the time of exercising the effort, and then
- 6:40Speaker 1: you run into somebody looks better and they're not. They're
- 6:43Speaker 1: just taking an injection. That's a that's a mind f
- 6:47Speaker 1: feel pardon the expression.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And she was bragging basically, she's saying, you know, I mean,
- 6:50Speaker 2: in a way, she was kind of saying, yeah, I
- 6:52Speaker 2: don't do what you guys do anymore. Look what I look,
- 6:54Speaker 2: what I look like, and I just take pills or whatever.
- 6:57Speaker 1: None of my business. I really don't advocate the eating
- 7:00Speaker 1: crap just because the injection's helping keep it off.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Well.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Now, on the flip side to this, I know someone
- 7:07Speaker 3: who is taking one of these injections and it's not
- 7:12Speaker 3: working because she hasn't changed any of her habits. And
- 7:17Speaker 3: I think this stuff is just you know, it affects
- 7:19Speaker 3: everybody differently. But I mean, she's been on it for
- 7:21Speaker 3: months and it's you know, certain habits, you have to
- 7:26Speaker 3: cut and you have to work out.
- 7:28Speaker 1: For some people, well, I feel like you ought to
- 7:30Speaker 1: be willing to give something to the project, not just
- 7:34Speaker 1: rely on on the chemicals.
- 7:38Speaker 4: You're giving your hard earned paycheck to the drug. But
- 7:41Speaker 4: there is a drug.
- 7:42Speaker 1: But there is a bit of discussing this like it's
- 7:44Speaker 1: a moral issue, which kind of like seeps into your
- 7:47Speaker 1: brain for no good reason, like one is somehow against
- 7:52Speaker 1: morality and one is the right way to do it
- 7:54Speaker 1: or something. There's a total stigma against them.
- 7:57Speaker 3: If you look online, if you see anybody on line
- 8:00Speaker 3: who's is showing, oh, look at my weight loss. If
- 8:02Speaker 3: you go into the comments, guaranteed within the first five.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Somebody's like, oh ozempic right, all of them. Also, you
- 8:09Speaker 1: don't get toned up at all on ozempic. I assume
- 8:11Speaker 1: so your weight came off, because I know somebody actually
- 8:14Speaker 1: lost a tremendous amount of weight recently and they got
- 8:17Speaker 1: some weird skin flabby stuff happening. Is a post if
- 8:21Speaker 1: you lost and they lost it really fast, if you
- 8:23Speaker 1: lost it slower and you're working out, and I know
- 8:26Speaker 1: what you're saying about the morality thing, and it's hard
- 8:29Speaker 1: to put your finger on. I'd have to mull it
- 8:30Speaker 1: over for a bit. But there's the question of your
- 8:33Speaker 1: doing it the natural way or the unnatural way. On
- 8:36Speaker 1: the other hand, if I have some sort of rampant
- 8:39Speaker 1: bacterial infection, if penicillin's the unnatural way, give me the
- 8:43Speaker 1: unnatural one. Nice. You know, I don't believe in modern medicine.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I think that's cheating. Also, that's why I got two
- 8:48Speaker 1: teeth quite a sight. I think, well, if this, if
- 8:54Speaker 1: they if they figure out this ozempic stuff to where
- 8:57Speaker 1: it works for most people, doesn't make you sick. I
- 9:00Speaker 1: think we're gonna have to get over this. One's cheating ones,
- 9:02Speaker 1: not just from a being that overweight is not good
- 9:06Speaker 1: for you.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Uh yeah, yeah. I wonder they'll probably fine tune the
- 9:12Speaker 4: chemistry and the dosage and that sort of thing. I
- 9:14Speaker 4: wonder if you can, like the equivalent of microdose it
- 9:18Speaker 4: and just you know, a bit of an appetite suppressant,
- 9:20Speaker 4: like the speed the ladies took in the fifties and sixties,
- 9:23Speaker 4: that sort of thing. You don't have to be a
- 9:25Speaker 4: full on meth head, just just a little pick me up,
- 9:29Speaker 4: a mother's little helpers. The Rolling Stones put it so entertaining. Yeah, dabble,
- 9:34Speaker 4: I'm dabbling in the world of stimulants.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, my wife asked me if she said, if that
- 9:40Speaker 2: pill was healthy, She's all, would you want me on it?
- 9:42Speaker 2: Knowing that I could look like her, and then I
- 9:44Speaker 2: and then she looked at me and gave me the look,
- 9:46Speaker 2: and I was sort of like, how did I answer this?
- 9:50Speaker 3: I'm giving you the look and I'm not your wife.
- 9:52Speaker 3: You better answer that correctly.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Is this the show that airs after the Bachelorette or something?
- 9:57Speaker 4: It's starting to get that feel.
- 10:00Speaker 1: You didn't at any point say break me off a
- 10:02Speaker 1: piece of that, did you. No? No, I didn't.
- 10:05Speaker 4: That's cool, thank god. Yes.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Anyway, No, I answered the right way. I said, no,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I like what we're doing, and we're gonna keep doing
- 10:12Speaker 2: what we're doing, and I like doing it as a couple.
- 10:14Speaker 2: So that's that was my answer to her.
- 10:16Speaker 1: No, that was that last part. Now, that was some
- 10:19Speaker 1: good relationship talk, right there. A couple, that's that's a
- 10:23Speaker 1: that's a yeah, that's for the win.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Well, I guess that's it.
