- 0:20Speaker 1: Good morning, hope you joined us yesterday as we began
- 0:23Speaker 1: our week with Morning Moments with Jesus here on our
- 0:26Speaker 1: This is the Life podcast today. We go to Romans
- 0:30Speaker 1: chapter 8 in verse number 26. The Lord has really
- 0:33Speaker 1: been doing, in my personal opinion and in my preparation
- 0:39Speaker 1: for these devotions, really been doing a work as far
- 0:42Speaker 1: as teaching us how to rely more on Him, how
- 0:45Speaker 1: to trust Him. Even when life doesn't make sense to
- 0:49Speaker 1: us or fall into our perspective of understanding, that's when
- 0:55Speaker 1: our faith and our trust is stretched the most and
- 0:58Speaker 1: It's when it grows the most is when we hold
- 1:02Speaker 1: on to what is true, even through the uncertain times
- 1:06Speaker 1: that we, in our own minds, in our own hearts,
- 1:09Speaker 1: just really don't understand what's going on in our lives
- 1:14Speaker 1: or in the lives of those that we love. This morning,
- 1:17Speaker 1: the Lord takes us to Romans chapter 8 and verse 26.
- 1:22Speaker 1: And we talk about prayer, but we talk about the
- 1:24Speaker 1: prayer that you never speak. And it says, Likewise, the
- 1:30Speaker 1: Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we know not what
- 1:35Speaker 1: we should pray for as we ought. But the Spirit,
- 1:42Speaker 1: the Spirit itself, maketh intercession for us with groanings which
- 1:47Speaker 1: cannot be uttered. And I look at that this morning
- 1:52Speaker 1: and most of the time when we pray, if we're
- 1:54Speaker 1: real honest about it, most of the time when we pray,
- 1:58Speaker 1: We know exactly what we want to say to God,
- 2:00Speaker 1: or pretty much what we want to say to God.
- 2:02Speaker 1: The words come easily. Maybe our thoughts are clear. We
- 2:07Speaker 1: can express what is on our hearts and on our
- 2:11Speaker 1: minds rather easily. But there are other times when the
- 2:16Speaker 1: burden and heartache is so deep, the pain too personal,
- 2:22Speaker 1: or maybe the situation is too confusing that we can't
- 2:25Speaker 1: even put it into words. We sit down to pray
- 2:29Speaker 1: but nothing seems to come. Perhaps all we can do
- 2:33Speaker 1: is sit in silence. Maybe the tears begin to fall
- 2:37Speaker 1: before you're ever able to even form a sentence. And sometimes,
- 2:43Speaker 1: sometimes we're just carrying feelings we can't explain and questions
- 2:48Speaker 1: we don't even know how to ask God. Have you
- 2:50Speaker 1: ever had those types of moments in your life? Maybe
- 2:53Speaker 1: you're having one or going through one right now. When
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's in those moments, we may feel as though we
- 3:00Speaker 1: have failed to convey what we really wanted to say
- 3:04Speaker 1: to God. But Romans 8.26 gives us hope this morning
- 3:10Speaker 1: because it reminds us that when we do not know
- 3:13Speaker 1: what to pray, the Holy Spirit does, and He helps us.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He understands the groanings that cannot be uttered. God hears
- 3:26Speaker 1: more than the words that leave your mouth this morning.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I really want you to understand. He hears more than
- 3:31Speaker 1: what you're saying. He understands everything that rests on your
- 3:35Speaker 1: heart this morning. That tear, that was a prayer. Maybe
- 3:42Speaker 1: that deep breath you take and that's all you can
- 3:44Speaker 1: get out, that's a prayer. That moment when you whisper
- 3:48Speaker 1: only the name of Jesus or Jesus help me, that's
- 3:52Speaker 1: a prayer. Even the silence that you share with God
- 3:58Speaker 1: can carry that meaning to Him that you just can't express.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So I want to encourage you with that this morning.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I want to tell you that. That that prayer is
- 4:07Speaker 1: not measured by the number of words you speak or
- 4:10Speaker 1: how beautifully you say those words. It is the honest
- 4:14Speaker 1: desire to be near God even if the words won't come.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And sometimes the deepest prayers are not even spoken at all.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They are felt in the places that only God can reach.
- 4:28Speaker 1: We may not even fully understand what we are feeling
- 4:31Speaker 1: at the moment, but God does. He knows whether the
- 4:36Speaker 1: silence contains grief, fear, disappointment, hope, or maybe just a
- 4:43Speaker 1: longing that has remained hidden from everyone else. But I
- 4:48Speaker 1: want to tell you this morning, nothing within you is
- 4:51Speaker 1: ever hidden from God. You don't have to explain everything
- 4:55Speaker 1: perfectly before God will respond to you with compassion. You
- 5:00Speaker 1: do not have to find the right words before He
- 5:02Speaker 1: will draw near to you. I want to tell you
- 5:05Speaker 1: this morning, your Heavenly Father already knows what you need
- 5:09Speaker 1: before you ask. And the Holy Spirit, He carries the
- 5:14Speaker 1: unspoken language that your heart conveys when you're in God's presence.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So when the words won't come, Do not walk away
- 5:25Speaker 1: from prayer. Simply just stay there for a little while.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And let the tears fall if they fall. Let the
- 5:33Speaker 1: silence speak. Trust that He understands the prayer you never spoke.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Because the prayer you can't speak is still completely understood
- 5:45Speaker 1: by God. So today you be safe. You be strong
- 5:49Speaker 1: and you be blessed. And you be encouraged this morning.
- 5:55Speaker 1: even when words won't come. Lord's will, we'll see you
- 5:58Speaker 1: back here again tomorrow. And until then, have a great day.
