- 0:57another one of those weeks where i need
- 1:00this friday more than i normally need a
- 1:02friday understandable it'd be like that
- 1:05sometimes bro yeah damn it's it's friday
- 1:10that's a lot of a's there just only
- 1:15two lives saying that uh so corey and
- 1:22i were talking beforehand
- 1:27I have a lot of addictions.
- 1:28I don't do anything like one foot in.
- 1:32Yeah, no, both feet all the way.
- 1:34Yeah, deep end, head first, let's go.
- 1:38Make it happen.
- 1:39And I've become this big F-one fan, right?
- 1:42And I am literally this morning watching
- 1:45practice.
- 1:47We talk about practice.
- 1:48We talk about practice.
- 1:51Not the game.
- 1:52Not the game.
- 1:54Practice.
- 1:55Come on.
- 1:56Yeah.
- 1:57And so really,
- 1:58I had to get some work done.
- 2:00It's a nice background noise.
- 2:03You know,
- 2:04it just kind of lets me know,
- 2:05does my team even have a shot this
- 2:07week, right?
- 2:07Yeah.
- 2:09So I'm watching that,
- 2:10and then we were discussing that Corey
- 2:12used to watch NASCAR in the eighties.
- 2:15When I lived in Tallahassee, Florida,
- 2:16I watched NASCAR because if you didn't,
- 2:19you had nothing to talk about with anybody
- 2:20at the water cooler.
- 2:23So take me back to Tallahassee,
- 2:27mid-nineteen nineties.
- 2:31I worked for the state of Florida.
- 2:32I was bored a lot,
- 2:34and I would call in to try to
- 2:35win radio contests.
- 2:39And sure enough,
- 2:40I won a Daytona five hundred package.
- 2:44Oh, shit.
- 2:45From the radio station.
- 2:47And now, granted, I lived in Florida.
- 2:49So to get to Daytona,
- 2:50we're talking two hours,
- 2:51two and a half hours.
- 2:53Not a point.
- 2:54Right.
- 2:54But they had a party bus that left
- 2:56at four a.m.
- 2:59Hop on, go over to Daytona,
- 3:03spend all day in the hot sun,
- 3:05get back on the party bus, come back.
- 3:10So there were people that I think came
- 3:13straight from the bar to the party bus.
- 3:15Oh, I guarantee that they did.
- 3:19Where my wife and I were like just
- 3:21getting up and we weren't really in the
- 3:24mood to hang on this party bus with
- 3:27people that had been going for six hours.
- 3:31You weren't really in the mood at four
- 3:32in the morning for woo.
- 3:35So we,
- 3:36we get to Daytona and we go into
- 3:38the stands and we noticed like all the
- 3:41front row seats, there's nobody in them.
- 3:43Like, like this is great.
- 3:45I can,
- 3:45I get a front row seat to this
- 3:47thing.
- 3:49And we're, we're, I think it's turn four,
- 3:51the final turn to the finish line at
- 3:53Daytona.
- 3:57Car comes ripping around the last,
- 4:00the last turn.
- 4:02And there is a pileup where cars go
- 4:06airborne.
- 4:08They're flipping.
- 4:10It is crazy.
- 4:11And this, like,
- 4:12gust of dirty air and car parts comes
- 4:18whipping by our face.
- 4:19Oh, yeah.
- 4:20And I'm like, oh,
- 4:22that's why nobody's sitting here.
- 4:23Got it.
- 4:24Got it.
- 4:24Yeah.
- 4:24Got it figured out now.
- 4:28that was way closer to the action than
- 4:32i really ever wanted to be that's
- 4:36fantastic but it was a free daytona fi
- 4:41and i've i've been to daytona now you
- 4:44can say you have been to the daytona
- 4:46um i want new kids on the block
- 4:51ticket one new kids on the block tickets
- 4:54to middle school best day of my whole
- 4:55life
- 4:56Yeah, I won Daytona.
- 4:59I won the outfield.
- 5:01Oh,
- 5:02I just want to use your love tonight.
- 5:06Another great story.
- 5:07My wife and I get there.
- 5:08We're right on the stage,
- 5:09like right leaning on the stage watching
- 5:11them.
- 5:12And the bass player did not wear
- 5:13underwear.
- 5:14And my wife was like,
- 5:17I can see more than I need to
- 5:18see.
- 5:23I won survivor tickets, Molly Hatchet.
- 5:27Molly Hatchet.
- 5:29Holy smokes.
- 5:30You were in Florida when you won Molly
- 5:32Hatchet tickets.
- 5:32Oh, yeah.
- 5:33Because anybody north of Georgia has no
- 5:36idea who Molly Hatchet is.
- 5:37It is.
- 5:38That's a fact.
- 5:42yeah and and we were flirting with
- 5:44disaster man bro southern rock extreme
- 5:50molly hatchet yes lord we uh bird was
- 5:54out of the nest vicky yeah a hundred
- 5:57percent i'm just doing a lot of dang
- 6:00there's probably a lot of dangling bits
- 6:01right there and you can't help like you're
- 6:03looking up so like there's this dude with
- 6:07no shorts on with shorts on i'm assuming
- 6:09and nothing else and you're like oh
- 6:11All right, yeah, there we go.
- 6:14He was wearing the runner shorts.
- 6:17Better.
- 6:18Yeah.
- 6:18Even better.
- 6:19You didn't have to actually look up.
- 6:20They were just dangling right there in
- 6:22front of you.
- 6:22The closer to the stage you got,
- 6:23the better the show was, apparently.
- 6:27Jesus Christ.
- 6:30Also, my wife and I,
- 6:31nothing ever goes off normal.
- 6:34Yeah, clearly.
- 6:36Clearly.
- 6:37I would say...
- 6:40I would say that you won Molly Hatchett
- 6:43tickets.
- 6:44It's probably like a,
- 6:44it's probably like a stretch saying that
- 6:46you like, you know what I mean?
- 6:49Like most times when you win something,
- 6:50you're like, shit.
- 6:51Yeah.
- 6:51Somebody's like, Hey man,
- 6:52you just won Molly Hatchett tickets.
- 6:54And I did, I did what?
- 6:56Who?
- 6:57Yeah.
- 6:58You ever heard a song flirting with
- 6:58disaster?
- 6:59Yeah.
- 6:59Okay.
- 6:59They're going to sing that five times in
- 7:01a row and they're going to get off
- 7:02stage.
- 7:04Basically what's up,
- 7:05how that's going to go.
- 7:08I want a one thousand dollar Reebok gift
- 7:10card.
- 7:10Best part was I had a fifty percent
- 7:13Reebok coupon,
- 7:14so I got two K worth of stuff.
- 7:16Wow.
- 7:17Dude,
- 7:18that would have made my day life week.
- 7:23One hundred percent.
- 7:24I don't know right now if I could.
- 7:27Let's just say thousand dollars with
- 7:28Reebok better than the Molly Hatchet
- 7:31tickets.
- 7:31Absolutely.
- 7:32I'd take a thousand.
- 7:33I'd take ten dollars at Reebok before I
- 7:35took Molly Hatcher tickets.
- 7:37That is fantastic.
- 7:38That's it.
- 7:38Yeah.
- 7:39Thanks, Romero.
- 7:39That's a lot of nanos.
- 7:42Good night.
- 7:42Two thousand dollars.
- 7:43That's like you could probably get at
- 7:45least twenty pairs of nanos at that point.
- 7:47You'd never have to buy a shoe the
- 7:49rest of your life.
- 7:50You could go quite some time without them,
- 7:52especially if you run across.
- 7:53They had the pair that you wanted in
- 7:54the size that you wanted.
- 7:55You just get one in every color or
- 7:58three in every color.
- 7:59Something along those lines.
- 8:00Shit.
- 8:00Yeah.
- 8:02Yeah.
- 8:04You could buy a Nano for every outfit
- 8:07you were wearing to the gym.
- 8:09You could buy Nano shorts and a shirt
- 8:12all in the same color combinations.
- 8:13You could roll up looking like one of
- 8:17my friends from...
- 8:20The internet land that was also competing
- 8:23at Magic City Games just show up all
- 8:26in one color.
- 8:27Just get out there on the floor all
- 8:28in purple.
- 8:29He's a weird dude.
- 8:30Listen, dude.
- 8:33You could, for the rest of your life,
- 8:35rock the CrossFit box like it's two
- 8:38thousand fifteen.
- 8:39Oh, absolutely.
- 8:41Absolutely.
- 8:42Yeah.
- 8:43Or earlier.
- 8:45If they brought back the Nano sixes or
- 8:47the Nano fours,
- 8:48I would spend two thousand dollars on on
- 8:50those two things easily.
- 8:54Two of my favorite,
- 8:55favorite pairs of shoes.
- 8:56You know, I like I like the threes,
- 8:59the fours.
- 9:02The nines.
- 9:05And I had eights did not have nines.
- 9:08I don't know.
- 9:09I did have nines.
- 9:10I'm lying.
- 9:10The tens were complete garbage.
- 9:12They did not have tens.
- 9:13No, for the same reason.
- 9:15Everybody I know that had tens that liked
- 9:16them was because they had the rich froning
- 9:18tens.
- 9:19Because they had the...
- 9:21Because the tongue was gusseted in.
- 9:23It wasn't just the tongue that would slide
- 9:24down to one side.
- 9:25That was the biggest difference between
- 9:27the fronings.
- 9:28don't need to wear high tops to crossfit
- 9:31in they are a little on the tall
- 9:33side and i'll give you that like three
- 9:35quarter tops when i was back was a
- 9:37thing when i was in high school so
- 9:39it was weird i got a free pair
- 9:41for volunteering at rogue right and uh
- 9:46yeah they were trash
- 9:50i had my the um thirteens what are
- 9:55they on currently they want i have no
- 9:57idea i couldn't i haven't bought a reebok
- 10:01since the nines i haven't bought a reebok
- 10:03i haven't bought nanos i want to say
- 10:07to twelves or probably my last pair and
- 10:10then i bought
- 10:13I bought some twos, which I still have.
- 10:16I mean, I still have all my nanos.
- 10:18And I got, I went born primitive,
- 10:21and now I am in strike movements.
- 10:27Speaking of rocking the box,
- 10:28if you want to rock the box like
- 10:30it's twenty fifteen,
- 10:31you need to sleep like you did in
- 10:33twenty fifteen.
- 10:35Get Thursday today and you can get it
- 10:37for fifteen percent off with Coach Jazzy.
- 10:41I don't know.
- 10:45I don't know if Vicki is ever interested
- 10:47in actually doing marketing,
- 10:49but she should probably look into it.
- 10:51She's just saying.
- 10:53She is multi-talented.
- 10:54That is fantastic.
- 10:58Yeah.
- 10:59And the best part about Thirdsy is it's
- 11:01not just a sleep aid.
- 11:03It is a recovery aid as well.
- 11:05So not only does it help you fall
- 11:06asleep,
- 11:07but it helps you recover from your workout
- 11:09or your housework or your projects you got
- 11:12going on.
- 11:13Because Lord knows I've got plenty of
- 11:15those.
- 11:15Say you're building a new deck in your
- 11:17backyard.
- 11:17Yeah.
- 11:20One piece at a time.
- 11:22I love how you're Johnny Cash-ing it,
- 11:23by the way.
- 11:23Just one piece at a time.
- 11:26We got the post up.
- 11:28We'll put the hose reel on,
- 11:29and then we'll work on to the next
- 11:31thing.
- 11:32Well, I cleared some.
- 11:34So we have two hibiscus trees in the
- 11:35backyard.
- 11:37They have cross-pollinated and dropped
- 11:40seeds,
- 11:41and other hibiscus were growing in the
- 11:43middle.
- 11:44Yep.
- 11:44What's crazy is one is purple,
- 11:45one is pink.
- 11:46Yep.
- 11:47But the ones in the middle are white.
- 11:48White, yeah.
- 11:50So earlier this week, I took my sawzall,
- 11:54and I took them all out.
- 11:56cleared those out.
- 11:58I had a vine that grabbed a hold
- 12:00of one of them,
- 12:01cut that out of the tree,
- 12:02all that stuff.
- 12:03My dog is coming back today.
- 12:05And so it was all laying where my
- 12:06dog goes out.
- 12:09And so this morning at eight thirty a.m.,
- 12:12I am cutting them up into sticks and
- 12:15I have a fire pit.
- 12:16Put it all in the fire pit.
- 12:17Burn it.
- 12:20And I know Chuck Switzer is looking down
- 12:23on me from heaven going.
- 12:25I'm so disappointed in you because he
- 12:28taught me how to build a fire when
- 12:29I was a kid and he took pride
- 12:31in how he built a fire.
- 12:33Right.
- 12:34Boy scout, boy scout.
- 12:35I didn't have time cause I was doing
- 12:37it on work hours.
- 12:38Yeah.
- 12:39So he was like double stacking and turning
- 12:41and whatnot.
- 12:43I learned the pyramid technique.
- 12:44Yeah.
- 12:45Pyramid technique.
- 12:46Right.
- 12:46I don't work too.
- 12:47And, uh,
- 12:50and so I was in a hurry.
- 12:52So it took a little motor oil, uh,
- 12:56Let's get this stuff gone.
- 12:59Yeah.
- 12:59Fuel baby.
- 13:00Give me fuel.
- 13:00Give me fire.
- 13:01Give me that.
- 13:02Whatever you need to do to get that
- 13:03shit going.
- 13:07Uh, just looked at the Reebok site.
- 13:09They've partnered with F forty five now.
- 13:11Interesting.
- 13:18I do that with empty boxes in my
- 13:20fire pit.
- 13:20My, my makes my hubby crazy.
- 13:24dude my fire pit gets empty boxes i
- 13:27got some my wife bought new bar stools
- 13:29and the old ones i have yet to
- 13:30burn but they are out there with the
- 13:32intent that i will burn them one at
- 13:33a time in the fire pit even though
- 13:35it's ninety degrees outside i do not care
- 13:37like they it just needs to go and
- 13:39i don't i'm not putting them one at
- 13:42a time into my trash can for garbage
- 13:45pickup once a week that's just it seems
- 13:48like way too much work so they're they're
- 13:49all going to end up getting burned yeah
- 13:52i do burn what i can
- 13:54i'm getting to the point where i'm gonna
- 13:55have to dig out the pit because yeah
- 13:57too much yeah there's too much ash in
- 13:59there and understandable um but yeah i
- 14:04love my fire pit it's i built it
- 14:08years ago when my daughter was in high
- 14:10school and uh and it's a nice stone
- 14:14fire pit that came out really nice and
- 14:16fancy hopefully eventually i'll i'll hook
- 14:19it to my current whatever the new patio
- 14:21that i'm when i'm done
- 14:23No, Johnny Cash.
- 14:25Yep.
- 14:26One piece at a time, baby.
- 14:29All right.
- 14:29Hey, when you self, self-build,
- 14:34I guess you could say.
- 14:35DIY.
- 14:36DIY and your stuff, bro.
- 14:37I mean, I saw Johnny build that Cadillac.
- 14:41Just saying, what you got to do?
- 14:44All right.
- 14:45So the heart medicine they had me on
- 14:47makes me sensitive to the sun and heat.
- 14:50Mm-hmm.
- 14:52And I can feel it so much.
- 14:54And we have had feels like over a
- 14:56hundred degrees this week.
- 14:57Sure.
- 14:58So that really limits the time I have
- 15:01to execute things in the backyard,
- 15:04in the blazing sun with no shade.
- 15:06Sure.
- 15:09So I am working on it and there
- 15:10is stuff getting done,
- 15:12but I'm a one man crew and I've
- 15:16got that going on.
- 15:17But hey, three months ago,
- 15:19I couldn't do any of that shit.
- 15:21hundred percent right so we're making
- 15:25progress forward progress good progress i
- 15:29might add yep yep and my garage is
- 15:34getting really far so uh ninety degrees
- 15:39outside it's a hundred and nine here no
- 15:41fires allowed
- 15:43Okay, yes, it's ninety degrees here,
- 15:46and it's probably eighty-five percent
- 15:49relative humidity.
- 15:50So you can take a hundred and nine
- 15:52with no moisture in there,
- 15:54and I hope you enjoy it.
- 15:56Yeah, we're humid,
- 15:59because the feels like is over a hundred.
- 16:02We're at ninety, ninety-two,
- 16:04and the feels like is way up over
- 16:06a hundred because of the humidity.
- 16:08It's been oppressive the last couple days
- 16:10here, but...
- 16:11you know you we had snow for months
- 16:13and i bitched about that like i remember
- 16:16you couldn't leave your house so what
- 16:18leave your street you gotta you gotta pick
- 16:20one right pick your battles baby milwaukee
- 16:26makes a battery operated fan that strong
- 16:27saves me millie walkie um all right so
- 16:35This morning,
- 16:37I checked out Hiller's behind the scenes
- 16:40of day one of the online semis because,
- 16:43you know,
- 16:44it is the most exciting time in the
- 16:45CrossFit Games season that none of us can
- 16:48see unless you want to watch Jacob Marlowe
- 16:51or see a post-produced Andrew Hiller with
- 16:55Alexis Raptus, Fisa Goffey,
- 16:58Janice Chevery, or Josh Felix.
- 17:01Yes.
- 17:04No real head-to-head, no competition,
- 17:07none of that stuff.
- 17:08But it was a very entertaining half hour.
- 17:11Feast of Goffey is hilarious.
- 17:14FYI.
- 17:15The oversharing that her and Alexis did in
- 17:17this thing.
- 17:18I was about to say,
- 17:19between her and Alexis, just,
- 17:22that time I pooped my pants,
- 17:23and then I pooped my pants,
- 17:24and then I just kind of kept happening.
- 17:28The workout had five rounds,
- 17:29and in three of them,
- 17:30I pooped my pants.
- 17:34And then Alexa's talking about the stuff
- 17:36that her acupuncturist had her lighting on
- 17:40fire and putting the smoke all over
- 17:42herself.
- 17:43And it smells like weed and looks like
- 17:45weed, but it's not weed.
- 17:50The best part was that she told Bethany
- 17:53Flores about it,
- 17:55who did it at the games and got
- 17:56in trouble.
- 17:58bethany said oh yeah i use that stuff
- 18:00too i got in trouble with the games
- 18:02because they thought i was actually
- 18:03smoking weed oh yeah moxa smoke moxa yes
- 18:09and androsic is in there like right there
- 18:12towards the end jessica yeah which is
- 18:16Dude, it's again, what he,
- 18:19I love it when he does stuff like
- 18:20that because they talk to him like,
- 18:24and they are, yeah.
- 18:25Okay.
- 18:25This is just what we're going to talk
- 18:26about, whatever.
- 18:27And he puts it in there and apparently
- 18:28they're good with it.
- 18:30It's fantastic.
- 18:32When apparently you need to put a dog
- 18:34collar with a zapper on it on your
- 18:36hand to get the buy in from them.
- 18:39And then they'll tell you whatever you
- 18:40want.
- 18:40And I tell you whatever you want.
- 18:41He was like, he's like, turn it up.
- 18:45Turn it up.
- 18:45How high does it go?
- 18:48Yeah.
- 18:49Well, they only went to seven.
- 18:50It goes to a hundred.
- 18:51Yeah.
- 18:55Ernie guards,
- 18:56I need to find me some of that
- 18:57moxa stuff.
- 18:59can point you towards a couple of gas
- 19:01stations around here you could probably go
- 19:02buy some moxa moxa i i am telling
- 19:10you man i i cannot stand the smell
- 19:13of weed and if that stuff smells like
- 19:16weed i'd be in a lot i couldn't
- 19:18use it i just couldn't don't go to
- 19:21uh key west go ahead and put that
- 19:23out in the air right now oh dude
- 19:25that we we have hippie cities in ohio
- 19:29Yellow Springs,
- 19:30Ohio is nothing but a bunch of hippies.
- 19:34We just,
- 19:35we were walking from the restaurant to go
- 19:37get the car, me and Bernard,
- 19:38to go back and get the girls.
- 19:41And Bernard's going, bro, where is that?
- 19:43And I said, it's that dude right there.
- 19:46He was four steps in front of us.
- 19:50And just, I mean,
- 19:51he had a joint this long.
- 19:52It was just on the street,
- 19:54no big deal.
- 19:55And it was everywhere.
- 19:58David Johnson agrees with me,
- 19:59and so does Amanda.
- 20:02Oh, Mr. David Johnson.
- 20:03David Johnson told me I need to move
- 20:04to Augusta, FYI.
- 20:07Augusta, Georgia?
- 20:09Yeah, where he's from.
- 20:10So he and I can train together.
- 20:15And go watch the Masters?
- 20:17I said I forgot you live in Gulfland.
- 20:20That's the only thing I know about
- 20:21Augusta.
- 20:22Apparently it's about the size of Baton
- 20:23Rouge, according to the Google.
- 20:26Read this poor man's.
- 20:28Weed is the poor man's lavender.
- 20:33I don't even know what that means, Jacob.
- 20:36But all right.
- 20:40Oh, man,
- 20:40we have to close our bay doors at
- 20:42the gym because the smell from the people
- 20:43next door comes in our gym.
- 20:46So the street that our gym is on.
- 20:48Oh, go ahead.
- 20:50The street that our gym is on is
- 20:51a straight shot from one of the main
- 20:53drags in Gonzales to basically a
- 20:56residential neighborhood.
- 20:56There's actually a fire station at the
- 20:58very end of it.
- 20:58But people walk through it all day long.
- 21:01And by people, I mean...
- 21:04Like people who clearly have their job is
- 21:06probably smelling or selling the shit that
- 21:08they smoke in because we'll be on runs
- 21:11like four hundred, eight hundred,
- 21:12six hundred or whatever.
- 21:13And you'll pass by people at any given
- 21:16point in the day and they'll come in
- 21:18from like, did you smell that?
- 21:20We've smelled it from people walking by
- 21:22the gym while we were still in the
- 21:24building.
- 21:25And like they're on the street smoking it,
- 21:27walking down the street like, good night,
- 21:29that is terrible.
- 21:32We did get a free microwave.
- 21:35With popcorn already inside.
- 21:37With popcorn already, unpopped.
- 21:38Unpopped.
- 21:41Oh my gosh.
- 21:43My gym is next to a cremation place.
- 21:46Had no idea until it caught on fire
- 21:47because they burned someone with too much
- 21:50body fat that it caught.
- 21:52Lovely as it's near our running route.
- 21:56That's got to be horrid.
- 21:59Bruh.
- 22:01Sounds terrible.
- 22:05Uh, Corey,
- 22:05a girl from our gym is moving to
- 22:07Baton Rouge at the end of the month.
- 22:08Any recommendations?
- 22:10Andrew?
- 22:10Yes.
- 22:10Tell her not to move.
- 22:13messed up vicky um let's see it's as
- 22:18bad if it's baton rouge proper then i
- 22:21would probably say uh either oh no not
- 22:25red stick i would say um go go
- 22:29crossfit good people over there and i got
- 22:33a brand new uh a brand new building
- 22:34that actually used to be uh i think
- 22:36it was a
- 22:38like a wedding reception place or whatnot,
- 22:40it's ginormous.
- 22:41They just redid the whole thing.
- 22:43That place is good.
- 22:44That place is good.
- 22:45Go Athletics.
- 22:46uh wedding reception place good cremation
- 22:49place bad bad yeah no not the same
- 22:54definitely not on the same level um if
- 22:56they are moving to the baton rouge area
- 23:00and they're going to be closer to us
- 23:02because we're like twenty minutes from
- 23:02baton rouge i would tell you to send
- 23:04them directly to us so crossfit burtis
- 23:08they can get coached by me and what
- 23:12better draw than the cowboy
- 23:16Do you understand how cool I think I
- 23:17am?
- 23:18He's going to make you hard to kill.
- 23:20I will make you hard to kill.
- 23:25She's transferring to Homa in three weeks.
- 23:26Amanda, does she do CrossFit?
- 23:27I can tell.
- 23:28I can one hundred percent tell where to
- 23:29go in Homa.
- 23:31Those people are amazing and they do e-mom
- 23:33company programming at that box.
- 23:36So if she does CrossFit, let me know.
- 23:39I can tell her where to go.
- 23:43Um,
- 23:45So the other thing,
- 23:46because we're not a travel show,
- 23:47but we just play one on TV.
- 23:49As it turns out.
- 23:52But I was watching some stuff and I
- 23:55had something just kind of bug me.
- 23:57And I know we can get negative sometimes
- 23:59on this show.
- 24:00And so I fully admit that we go
- 24:03down paths sometimes that I'm not.
- 24:06Sometimes you have to be negative.
- 24:08Sometimes you have to be constructive.
- 24:09Sometimes you just have to be.
- 24:12But I've heard people talk about the
- 24:13twenty events at the CrossFit Games and
- 24:17how cool that could be.
- 24:20But does that mean we're just setting
- 24:22ourselves up for disappointment the
- 24:24following year when it can't do that?
- 24:28And I'm just thinking,
- 24:29when did we lose the idea to live
- 24:34in the moment?
- 24:37Because we're not guaranteed a CrossFit
- 24:39Games next year.
- 24:40No, we're not.
- 24:42Right?
- 24:43And so why not look at this celebration
- 24:46that's going to happen and celebrate that
- 24:49we get to go and we get to
- 24:51check it out and hopefully it is freaking
- 24:54awesome.
- 24:57If we're already worried about twenty
- 24:58twenty seven and the effects it's going to
- 25:01have on that,
- 25:02we're sorely missing the what CrossFit's
- 25:09all about.
- 25:11You're missing the forest for the trees,
- 25:14right?
- 25:14Or you're missing the trees for the,
- 25:17for the forest,
- 25:18however you want to look at it.
- 25:18Because if you're like a dude,
- 25:22I get on a soapbox about that.
- 25:23Like why,
- 25:24why the thing hasn't happened yet.
- 25:28And you're already worried about next
- 25:29year.
- 25:31That's insane thought to me.
- 25:34Like, worry about what's in front of you.
- 25:37That's all you need to do is worry
- 25:38about what's in front of you.
- 25:40The game is in a month and a
- 25:41half.
- 25:42We're going to celebrate your fiftieth
- 25:44birthday, right?
- 25:47Big landmark.
- 25:48You've made it fifty years.
- 25:49You're healthier than I'll get out.
- 25:52Do you go, I don't know,
- 25:54because that'll just make the fifty first
- 25:56birthday seem so lame.
- 25:59why would I want to do something cool
- 26:00for my fiftieth birthday when I'm going to
- 26:01have a fifty-first after that?
- 26:04And then it's going to be a letdown
- 26:05because my fifty-first won't be as good as
- 26:07my fiftieth.
- 26:08So insane, dude.
- 26:10I do not... It angers me.
- 26:15Irrationally so.
- 26:16Well,
- 26:16and I think it's more common in the
- 26:18CrossFit space because we're looking for
- 26:22the next shoe to drop.
- 26:24And we're missing what's in front of us.
- 26:27Yep.
- 26:32so uh sounds like a miserable way to
- 26:36live and i'm not saying these people live
- 26:38that way i'm saying that they're in the
- 26:40crossfit space and sometimes there's a
- 26:42tendency to again look for that shoe to
- 26:46drop you're over analyzing at that point
- 26:50like and you're just waiting for something
- 26:52you're just waiting for something and
- 26:53you're just waiting for something and they
- 26:55probably do live at least part of their
- 26:56life like that
- 26:58just being miserable just to be miserable.
- 26:59It's the same people that bitch just to
- 27:01be bitching.
- 27:01They're not happy unless they're bitching
- 27:02about something.
- 27:04So let's go ahead and say that.
- 27:05Oh, twenty events this year.
- 27:06What are we going to do next year?
- 27:07Who cares?
- 27:09That is a year from now.
- 27:11Any one of a number of things could
- 27:13happen.
- 27:13The games could go away completely.
- 27:15People who don't think that's on the table
- 27:19don't live in reality.
- 27:24George Wang, devil's advocate.
- 27:25The problem with twenty events is a lot
- 27:26will be mathematically eliminated with a
- 27:28lot of events left.
- 27:29People get mathematically eliminated every
- 27:31single year.
- 27:32There were people mathematically
- 27:34eliminated two events in.
- 27:37In twenty twenty,
- 27:38some people didn't even make it to the
- 27:39ranch because they only took five people
- 27:41and you got mathematically eliminated
- 27:42before you even had a chance to compete
- 27:43in person.
- 27:45It'll be all right.
- 27:47Yeah.
- 27:48And the five that went were mathematically
- 27:50eliminated except for Matt Fraser when he
- 27:52showed up.
- 27:52One hundred percent.
- 27:55He had enough points to win first, second,
- 27:57and third.
- 27:58I need people,
- 28:00I need people to understand that about,
- 28:01about twenty, twenty,
- 28:03he amassed enough points to win all three
- 28:05podium positions.
- 28:06It's insane.
- 28:08Uh, and a shoop.
- 28:11So some negative,
- 28:13some so negative all the time,
- 28:14no matter what it gets old.
- 28:16I just want to be excited no matter
- 28:17what,
- 28:18and be that and be every bit of
- 28:20that dude.
- 28:25As a competitor,
- 28:27I get excited every comp I'm going to,
- 28:31no matter who else is there.
- 28:34I don't give a shit that I competed
- 28:36twice against or once, excuse me,
- 28:38against whatever his name is, Jason Grubb.
- 28:43I don't care that he's won six times
- 28:44in a row.
- 28:45I'm excited to be there and to put
- 28:47myself to it.
- 28:49And who knows if I'm going to get
- 28:51another chance.
- 28:51I get hit by a bus tomorrow.
- 28:54I can break my leg and have steel
- 28:56pins put in and not be able to
- 28:57do half the things that I can do.
- 28:58So why not appreciate it while you have
- 29:01the opportunity to appreciate it?
- 29:04It seems so short-sighted to me.
- 29:09Listen,
- 29:09we bitch about CrossFit all the time.
- 29:12Releasing that there's going to be twenty
- 29:13events has everybody intrigued.
- 29:18everybody's talking about holy cow there's
- 29:21twenty events what does that mean how is
- 29:23it even possible how are they gonna pull
- 29:26it off yeah that's that we have been
- 29:31that they don't advertise and that they
- 29:34don't get you excited about things ahead
- 29:36of time and here they've done it and
- 29:39people have found a way to about that
- 29:41percent the same people do oh this steak
- 29:46is entirely too good
- 29:49medium rare how dare they yeah it's it's
- 29:55it's it's absolutely insane this drink is
- 29:58entirely too tasty i don't know why they
- 30:00made it this good because i won't be
- 30:02able to appreciate the next one as much
- 30:06like that that's mind-blowing to me hey
- 30:09gratitude my wife is way too hot i
- 30:13don't even know what i'm gonna do with
- 30:14myself when i get home because she's
- 30:16entirely too attractive
- 30:18And when she divorces me,
- 30:19I'm going to get let down by the
- 30:20next woman because there's no way she's
- 30:22going to be as hot as this one.
- 30:24How could she possibly do that?
- 30:25That's insane to me.
- 30:29It's CrossFit.
- 30:29Got to bitch about something.
- 30:30Yeah.
- 30:32And look,
- 30:33what David's saying right here is I set
- 30:36expectations of myself too high to enjoy
- 30:37competing until the comp is over.
- 30:39I understand that.
- 30:41I get that.
- 30:42But up until that point,
- 30:45like getting there and being there and
- 30:47being in the moment and like seeing these
- 30:49animals I get to compete against is
- 30:52fantastic.
- 30:53I absolutely love it.
- 30:55Do I want to beat the brakes off
- 30:57all of them?
- 30:57Absolutely.
- 30:59Do I get upset with myself and I
- 31:00don't?
- 31:00Sure.
- 31:01And I let it ride off and I
- 31:02get on to the next thing.
- 31:04But at no point am I like,
- 31:06I won't ever be able to top this.
- 31:09my god what am i gonna be doing
- 31:10the next one so in like i went
- 31:17to a restaurant in omaha nebraska and i
- 31:20had chicken and waffles for the first time
- 31:22in my life in omaha nebraska in omaha
- 31:26nebraska and it was one of the greatest
- 31:28things i ever ever had in my life
- 31:32ladies and gentlemen scott schweitzer so
- 31:36from that point forward every time i tried
- 31:39chicken and waffles they paled in
- 31:40comparison to that one time you know but
- 31:45it didn't stop me from ordering chicken
- 31:47and waffles i was on the search for
- 31:51another version that was as good as that
- 31:53first version absolutely
- 31:56And a couple of weeks ago on my
- 31:58twenty ninth wedding anniversary,
- 32:00we went to a place called the House
- 32:02of Creole.
- 32:03And I had for the first time chicken
- 32:06and waffles that were as good as that
- 32:09first time.
- 32:10And only took you nineteen years.
- 32:14Sure.
- 32:15But but sometimes like the quest is the
- 32:19fun part of it.
- 32:21yeah right absolutely when you pr your
- 32:25snatch right and then for the next couple
- 32:27months you can't hit that again do you
- 32:29just stop snatching or is there a pursuit
- 32:33and a quest to hit it again i
- 32:37had a i had a whole ass conversation
- 32:39along this vein with my mental performance
- 32:41coach earlier this week as a matter of
- 32:43fact about
- 32:45How long do I are about letting myself
- 32:50actually enjoy the fact that I did a
- 32:51thing?
- 32:53how long i can do that like when
- 32:56i as soon as as soon as in
- 32:58person was announced i want to qualify for
- 33:00and compete in person after quarterfinals
- 33:03i'm sitting there looking at the
- 33:03leaderboard looking at the leaderboard
- 33:05looking at the leaderboard leaderboard
- 33:06finally gets finalized okay i'm in a spot
- 33:10i should be able to go compete in
- 33:11person i wasn't i don't feel like i
- 33:15was as excited as i should have been
- 33:16or let myself be excited because it just
- 33:18felt like it was
- 33:20was what I said I was gonna do
- 33:21and here we are and I did it
- 33:23and it's I feel like this is the
- 33:24same thing like your people have been
- 33:27bitchin well what they only had this many
- 33:30events last year they only had this many
- 33:32events the year before that and now
- 33:33they're like hey we're gonna have twenty
- 33:34and you're like well how we're ever gonna
- 33:36do what we're gonna do next year enjoy
- 33:39it while it's there
- 33:43Because how hard is that?
- 33:44A lot of people feel twenty fourteen was
- 33:46the best program games ever.
- 33:48Sure.
- 33:49I would argue it was twenty seventeen.
- 33:51OK.
- 33:53But regardless,
- 33:56when you hit those like great years,
- 34:01Dave doesn't stop there.
- 34:03He wants to be better.
- 34:06And we've talked about this in the past.
- 34:08I'm sure he's handcuffed in some ways by
- 34:11equipment, by budget, by location,
- 34:14by all these things.
- 34:15Right.
- 34:16But his quest is still,
- 34:18can I figure out a way to be
- 34:20better than I was those two years when
- 34:23I was considered great.
- 34:25Yep.
- 34:30So he said it himself,
- 34:32this is his art form.
- 34:35And he works every day at being better
- 34:37at it.
- 34:41So whatever that ends up looking like,
- 34:43some years he nails it,
- 34:45some years some things come off weird,
- 34:46and he's aware of that.
- 34:48And we make adjustments as needed and
- 34:51still working within the confines of
- 34:52whatever he's allowed basically to do or
- 34:55can do.
- 34:56I won't say allowed to do,
- 34:57but allowed to do within the confines of
- 35:00all the things you just mentioned.
- 35:02Yes.
- 35:02Uh, Vicki one day,
- 35:04not enough tested next day,
- 35:06too many tests next day,
- 35:08too easy next day,
- 35:09too hard Goldilocks syndrome.
- 35:13I can't wait till after it's done, dude.
- 35:14Cause that's going to be a lot of
- 35:16that from a lot of people.
- 35:18Well, day one was so easy.
- 35:19And then, I mean,
- 35:20day two was like just absolutely
- 35:22ridiculous.
- 35:22And then day three,
- 35:23but there's going to be so much of
- 35:25that going on instead of going,
- 35:27we had events.
- 35:28Yeah.
- 35:34Like,
- 35:34we got to see these people go through
- 35:37four days and twenty events,
- 35:41putting themselves well past human,
- 35:43you know,
- 35:44what's expected to be human limits as far
- 35:46as that kind of stuff is concerned when
- 35:47it comes to fitness.
- 35:49And instead of going,
- 35:51whether you liked it or not,
- 35:53acknowledging the fact that that's an
- 35:54amazing feat in and of itself,
- 35:56people are going to be just like she
- 35:58said.
- 35:59Oh, well, day one was so stupid,
- 36:01and then day two was blah, blah, blah,
- 36:02blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 36:04And some of that's going to be somewhat
- 36:06relevant criticism.
- 36:10Absolutely.
- 36:11I get that part of it.
- 36:12But at no point did those people just
- 36:15stop and go,
- 36:17this was absolutely a phenomenal
- 36:19accomplishment.
- 36:20Did I like all of it?
- 36:22No.
- 36:22But overall, what we got to see,
- 36:26it's going to be ridiculous in a good
- 36:30way.
- 36:32Uh,
- 36:32Jeff did not seem excited about the
- 36:34events.
- 36:34Here's the point.
- 36:35Grace's is CrossFit.
- 36:37Isn't doesn't care if he's excited or not,
- 36:40but he talked about it.
- 36:42He brought it up to Dave and questioned
- 36:44it.
- 36:45Yeah.
- 36:46That's what they were doing with this.
- 36:49We don't know if three of these events
- 36:51are sixty seconds long.
- 36:53Correct.
- 36:54Like one could be max broad jump.
- 37:02It could be anything.
- 37:04And that's the fun of it.
- 37:05Like everybody's speculating.
- 37:07How do you fit it all in the
- 37:08schedule?
- 37:09How do you,
- 37:09how do you not kill the athletes?
- 37:11How do you, it can be done.
- 37:15We just don't know how it's going to
- 37:17be done.
- 37:17So it's created this big,
- 37:20like curiosity as to what he has up
- 37:22his sleeve.
- 37:25And there hasn't been a lot of that
- 37:26in recent, in recent memory.
- 37:30Right.
- 37:32The most fun of the games was the
- 37:34little leaks, the little like clues.
- 37:37Yeah.
- 37:37You know,
- 37:38when he walked into the dinner with those
- 37:42long boards, right?
- 37:45But didn't say what it was going to
- 37:46be used for.
- 37:47People didn't know if it was a stand-up
- 37:49paddleboard.
- 37:50People didn't know if it was a lay-down
- 37:51paddleboard.
- 37:52People didn't know,
- 37:53are we even going to use it?
- 37:55Whenever he walked in to the dinner the
- 37:59night before and was like, hey,
- 38:01we're going to test you like this and
- 38:03like this.
- 38:04And if you feel some type of way
- 38:06about it,
- 38:07just tell us and we'll pull you aside
- 38:09and we'll make you comfortable.
- 38:10And then left.
- 38:12Just left him sitting with that.
- 38:15That was cool.
- 38:20This is along those kinds of lines.
- 38:23Like, hey, man, we're doing twenty events.
- 38:25You're going to do stuff you've never seen
- 38:26before.
- 38:27You're going to touch and implement you've
- 38:28never touched before.
- 38:32I'm excited.
- 38:33I really am.
- 38:35This is way over the line.
- 38:38John Young's hairline.
- 38:39Because Jeff is a bitch,
- 38:40athletes will excel.
- 38:41That is the definition of an athlete.
- 38:43You can handle anything thrown at them
- 38:45better than anyone else.
- 38:46Just because Jeff is consistently one of
- 38:50the fittest men in the world.
- 38:52Consistently.
- 38:56He is very analytical.
- 38:58Very analytical.
- 39:00Very analytical.
- 39:03This is his job.
- 39:04This is how he makes money.
- 39:06And he is going to look at things
- 39:07in a way in that respect.
- 39:09It doesn't make him a bitch because half
- 39:12of these athletes are not going to beat
- 39:14him at the games.
- 39:15Not even half.
- 39:16Out of the thirty,
- 39:18he's going to beat twenty-five of them.
- 39:24So, it is what it is.
- 39:27The test of the test.
- 39:29You don't get to pick it.
- 39:32i don't think that and vicky's saying he's
- 39:35a bit of a whiner i've known jeff
- 39:37for a long time i don't think he's
- 39:38a whiner i think he's just very analytical
- 39:40and he doesn't get emotional like a lot
- 39:44of the other athletes in this celebration
- 39:46part of it and and and that was
- 39:50advocate he does come off that way
- 39:53I don't know.
- 39:54But it comes off him.
- 39:55It sounds like he's whining about stuff.
- 39:58And maybe that's just how he talks.
- 39:59I don't know.
- 40:00I don't really care,
- 40:00to be quite honest with you,
- 40:01because at the end of the day,
- 40:03he's going to have to do the same
- 40:04twenty tests that everybody else does.
- 40:07Whether he's whining about it or it sounds
- 40:09like he's whining about it or not,
- 40:10he's going to show up and he's going
- 40:11to do them all.
- 40:12just like everybody else will.
- 40:15So there's that.
- 40:16The only time I have seen him not
- 40:18confident in himself is when he was hurt
- 40:21last year.
- 40:22Yeah, and that's to be expected.
- 40:29Vicky comes off as a full-on bitch,
- 40:31so there's that.
- 40:32No, you don't.
- 40:34Yeah, no.
- 40:35Except for when you're fighting with me.
- 40:36No, I'm just kidding.
- 40:38five seconds before the show starts right
- 40:44he's just a little awkward he's a good
- 40:46dude underneath in my opinion dude like he
- 40:48is always super friendly to me whenever i
- 40:50run into him um him and caroline both
- 40:54i think they're awesome people uh so yeah
- 41:01so i'm gonna leave you with a couple
- 41:03of fun things i found on the gram
- 41:07So back in the day,
- 41:10I switched to being like a five a.m.
- 41:12person, right?
- 41:14Well,
- 41:15one of our favorite Instagram
- 41:16personalities is Nerds Who Teach,
- 41:19and she switched to six a.m.
- 41:21And I thought this was funny.
- 41:22It's day three.
- 41:24Yeah, I saw that.
- 41:24Day of six a.m.
- 41:33CrossFit classes.
- 41:35It's fine.
- 41:36It's to when I go normally,
- 41:41I will say there are a lot of
- 41:43hours in the day after this more than
- 41:47I thought there were.
- 41:48I didn't know it was so much time
- 41:51for activities.
- 41:52What activities?
- 41:54I guess I can hang out with my
- 41:55kid.
- 41:56Okay.
- 41:58napping although before the six a.m
- 42:02classes i was still napping even after
- 42:04sleeping in um i don't know really fun
- 42:08things like spending forty minutes just
- 42:10watching different clips from the nineteen
- 42:12ninety six movie the mirror has two faces
- 42:14starring barbara and jeff bridges and
- 42:17crying a little bit it's all in before
- 42:24I couldn't fit this all in before.
- 42:27When I would go to the five a.m.
- 42:28class,
- 42:29I could not believe like at eleven a.m.
- 42:32I was like ready for bed.
- 42:37It's a whole different world when you get
- 42:38up before the sun and you get your
- 42:42stuff done.
- 42:45i'm gonna tell you from my perspective
- 42:47anyway i get up when i'm doing two
- 42:50days which i'm getting back to you next
- 42:51week i get up and i do my
- 42:53first session and i go to work and
- 42:55i go and i go back and do
- 42:56another session so like i've seen both
- 42:59sides of it which is super exciting by
- 43:02the way and you find out all the
- 43:03things that are going on in the gym
- 43:04it's ridiculous um
- 43:09So the other thing I found is this,
- 43:11and now that I've clicked on it,
- 43:13I get like a new one every couple
- 43:15hours.
- 43:16And this is a woman that I'll just
- 43:18let it play itself.
- 43:19I'm making a deadlift from scratch.
- 43:21The deadlift is the foundation of
- 43:23weightlifting.
- 43:24We're making it from scratch because you
- 43:25deserve to know exactly what's in it.
- 43:27We'll start by walking up to the bar
- 43:29and letting our shins make contact.
- 43:31Just a gentle introduction,
- 43:32the bar and the shins getting acquainted.
- 43:35Now we'll take our hands just outside our
- 43:36legs and imagine breaking the bar in half.
- 43:39A satisfying sensation of power you've
- 43:41forgotten was always yours.
- 43:43This activates the muscles of the upper
- 43:45back and creates an exquisite tension
- 43:46through the shoulders.
- 43:49Finally, we brace our TVA,
- 43:51our deepest abdominal muscle,
- 43:52as if we're preparing for something
- 43:54important.
- 43:55Because we are.
- 43:57Only lift what you can set down with
- 43:59control.
- 43:59Now that you know the basics,
- 44:01we're going to add more weight.
- 44:02But first,
- 44:02we summon our inner beast with a primal
- 44:04scream.
- 44:05Look inward for something that's been
- 44:07pissing you off.
- 44:08You won't have to go very far,
- 44:09as your deepest self is probably very
- 44:11angry at something in the world.
- 44:14This will help to not only relieve the
- 44:16pressure and...
- 44:20oh that's good stuff right there oh it's
- 44:24like it's like this vetty balls uh girls
- 44:28on npr on senate live teaching how to
- 44:32do a deadlift in a in a era
- 44:35dress in hairstyle like that is phenomenal
- 44:39that's good stuff oh it's so good and
- 44:43now like i said because i've clicked on
- 44:45it once it's now it's in my algorithm
- 44:49I heard Joseph talking on Glintons the
- 44:51other day about that there's a way you
- 44:53can see what your algorithm actually is on
- 44:56Instagram.
- 44:57Really?
- 44:58And so they asked him,
- 44:59what is your algorithm?
- 45:01And he's like, oh, fitness and nutrition.
- 45:03And I'm thinking, gosh,
- 45:04I wish mine was fitness and nutrition.
- 45:06Yeah.
- 45:08I don't know how to look at it
- 45:10specifically,
- 45:11but I can tell you mine is fitness,
- 45:14comedians, various comedians.
- 45:20Not a lot of nutrition going on.
- 45:21I'm going to be completely honest with you
- 45:23here.
- 45:24Random rednecks doing redneck shit.
- 45:26There's a whole lot of that going on
- 45:27in my stuff because I apparently look at
- 45:29that a whole bunch.
- 45:31But I need to go.
- 45:33I need to text Joseph and get him
- 45:34how to look.
- 45:35Mark Phillips, just look to us.
- 45:39Settings, what you see,
- 45:40content preferences, your algorithm.
- 45:44So I have not looked.
- 45:46But I can just imagine it sitting there
- 45:47going,
- 45:48what the hell do we do with this
- 45:50dude?
- 45:52Legos, Rednecks, F-One, CrossFit,
- 45:58comedians.
- 46:00In between, it'll show me like,
- 46:05Three different reels of three different
- 46:07comedians doing a bit from their act.
- 46:09And then I'll get Kobe Bryant reciting the
- 46:14letter that he wrote after he tore his
- 46:17Achilles.
- 46:18And then it'll be something about being a
- 46:20good dad.
- 46:21And then it'll be some redneck doing the
- 46:23twenty-four hours of lemons and talking
- 46:25about it.
- 46:27Like,
- 46:27there's no rhyme or reason whatsoever.
- 46:29And then it'll go to, like,
- 46:30somebody snatching two hundred ninety five
- 46:32pounds.
- 46:32Like, and it's back to back like that.
- 46:35It's insane, dude.
- 46:37Exactly.
- 46:38Algorithm ADHD.
- 46:38Yeah.
- 46:38One hundred percent.
- 46:41Because mine is throw a bucket of
- 46:42fireworks on a bonfire.
- 46:48So I just read Stan's comment.
- 46:52Corey, my friend,
- 46:53said Virtus is the closest gym to where
- 46:55she is moving,
- 46:56so I'm sure she and her husband will
- 46:57be showing up.
- 46:59Bring it.
- 47:00Love to have them.
- 47:02Love to have them.
- 47:04Tell them I hope they like it hot
- 47:05because we got a metal building,
- 47:10South Louisiana heat, and a bunch of fans,
- 47:12and that's about where it stops.
- 47:15Grant says, one time,
- 47:16then they started hitting me with a bunch
- 47:18of that stuff.
- 47:18It wasn't me, man.
- 47:21right yeah you got to be careful you
- 47:23got to be careful click on some dude
- 47:25and you watch it all the way through
- 47:28that's a wrap yeah it's uh it's pretty
- 47:33fun last thing i'm gonna leave you with
- 47:35i i started a new i'm running out
- 47:37of shows to watch like because because um
- 47:41shows are only ten ten episodes a season
- 47:43now yeah right eight ten six whatever so
- 47:47it doesn't take you long to get through
- 47:48a season
- 47:51and uh we started watching ponies last
- 47:53night i'm sorry what ponies yeah i got
- 47:58it from grant's algorithm my little or no
- 48:04no it's um it is persons of no
- 48:06interest
- 48:13and so so you know so it's these
- 48:19two women that were married to um members
- 48:23of the cia and their husbands were persons
- 48:27of interest right and it's this late
- 48:29seventies in fact in fact it is broadcast
- 48:33in the old square not letterbox
- 48:36To make it look seventies.
- 48:37Make it look seventies.
- 48:38Yeah.
- 48:38Yeah.
- 48:39And they, they are in the first,
- 48:42this is the first part of the show.
- 48:44The two husbands are killed in action and
- 48:48the wives have nothing to do,
- 48:49but they want to know what happened to
- 48:51their husbands.
- 48:52And so the,
- 48:53the director of the Russian embassy thinks
- 48:56that they keep getting nabbed by the KGB,
- 48:59trying to like spy on people.
- 49:02But,
- 49:02but he comes up with this idea that
- 49:04two women are,
- 49:06The KGB won't even think twice because
- 49:07they're women.
- 49:08Because they're women.
- 49:09And it's the seventies.
- 49:10And so instead of being persons of
- 49:12interest,
- 49:12they are persons of no interest and they
- 49:16think that they can infiltrate.
- 49:17And I've only seen the first episode,
- 49:19but I, it so far so good.
- 49:25Persons.
- 49:29It's actually called ponies.
- 49:31Persons of no interest.
- 49:32It's on Peacock.
- 49:34It's on Peacock.
- 49:34All right.
- 49:36Wayne says this is an awesome show.
- 49:39That's hilarious.
- 49:40Sean in Oregon says read a book.
- 49:42Listen, I am done with books.
- 49:47Somebody's going to clip that.
- 49:49You can book shame me all you want.
- 49:51Somebody's going to clip that.
- 49:53In my master's degree,
- 49:55I had to read so much.
- 49:57And I had to take an English course
- 49:59where I had to read six novels in
- 50:00six weeks.
- 50:02Whoa.
- 50:02And after I was done with that,
- 50:04I said, I will never read again.
- 50:08That's aggressive.
- 50:09Six novels in six weeks.
- 50:12Jeez.
- 50:13Yeah.
- 50:14I was like, I don't,
- 50:16Jenny is one hundred percent made into a
- 50:18movie.
- 50:18I don't give a shit anymore.
- 50:20Jenny is one hundred percent clipping
- 50:22that.
- 50:23I am done with books.
- 50:25I am done with books.
- 50:28Totally done.
- 50:30Totally a useless media for this dude.
- 50:35Oh, that is so good.
- 50:39Yeah.
- 50:40Make it into a podcast.
- 50:42I'm all in.
- 50:43You want to talk about no context clips?
- 50:45She just needs to clip.
- 50:47Scott just going, I am done with books.
- 50:50And just put that out there with no
- 50:52other context whatsoever.
- 50:57Jacob says, in my CrossFit class,
- 50:59I had to squat so much,
- 51:00I will never squat again.
- 51:02Come on.
- 51:03That doesn't make sense.
- 51:06Reading is a choice.
- 51:09CrossFit and squats are essential to life.
- 51:12I thought effort was a choice,
- 51:13but apparently reading is a choice.
- 51:15Got it.
- 51:15I was not aware of that.
- 51:16That's new.
- 51:17That's a new one on me.
- 51:18It used to be fundamental.
- 51:20It is no longer fun.
- 51:21Reading is not fundamental.
- 51:22I don't need it.
- 51:24Got it.
- 51:24I am fifty six years old.
- 51:26I've read a lot.
- 51:28I don't need to read anymore.
- 51:29Scott Switzer, ladies and gentlemen,
- 51:31not an advocate of reading.
- 51:36I have filled the brain to the rim.
- 51:38This is all I got.
- 51:40I got it.
- 51:40Finish with,
- 51:42I don't need new stuff in there.
- 51:44Oh my word.
- 51:48Aren't you reading this chat?
- 51:49Chat is not reading.
- 51:52That is scrolling.
- 51:53That's a different thing.
- 51:54Oh my God.
- 51:56Give me a book.
- 51:57I am not.
- 52:00What is audible off the table?
- 52:01I have done audible.
- 52:03I will admit that.
- 52:05I will let somebody else read to me.
- 52:08Scott Schweitzer will be read to.
- 52:12I like this.
- 52:13Having fun isn't hard when you've got a
- 52:15library card.
- 52:15I feel like Holly wrote that for her
- 52:17local library.
- 52:19For those of people that don't know,
- 52:20Holly is a librarian.
- 52:22Makes sense.
- 52:24She probably read that off of something at
- 52:25the library and looked over to the side
- 52:27and was like, there it is right there.
- 52:29Sean says Scott's reading rainbow is
- 52:31grayscale.
- 52:33That is true.
- 52:38Vicki, that's a secret.
- 52:40Yeah, hold on.
- 52:41No, no, this right here.
- 52:43And that is not reading.
- 52:45Yeah, Ernie's talking about,
- 52:47I'm just picturing Scott reading a book
- 52:48last night, shutting and be like, yep,
- 52:50that's enough of that.
- 52:55That was essentially,
- 52:56when they handed me the diploma,
- 52:58I was like,
- 52:59all books are off the table.
- 53:00I am done.
- 53:06Yes, reading trauma.
- 53:08Scott's got reading trauma.
- 53:11Now, Joe,
- 53:13because you can't even spell my name,
- 53:15reading is still fundamental for you.
- 53:19Just kidding.
- 53:20Reading is fundamental.
- 53:22That is fantastic.
- 53:26Where is the... Someone said... Oh,
- 53:31where was it at?
- 53:32I lost it.
- 53:34Someone said,
- 53:34we all need to start sending Scott books.
- 53:37right start starting mailing scott just
- 53:40random books uh for you my friend uh
- 53:48can you call in late for a couple
- 53:50more hours of this too much fun i
- 53:52wish i could but yeah so anyway pony's
- 53:58a good show
- 54:00I'm not reading ever again.
- 54:03What did we learn today?
- 54:05Ponies is a good show.
- 54:06How do you know about the future when
- 54:08you haven't even lived in the present?
- 54:10A hundred percent.
- 54:11And Scott hates books.
- 54:16That is the stuff we... Oh, shoot.
- 54:19If I go to the games,
- 54:20I'm going to gift you a blank book.
- 54:23There we go.
- 54:24I'll read a blank book.
- 54:29Let's send them an AOL CD.
- 54:31Oh, gosh.
- 54:33Thirty-six free hours.
- 54:40All right, guys.
- 54:41That was a fun way to...
- 54:48We are now online.
- 54:49Let's go.
- 54:52man anyway i had a bad joke in
- 54:56my head i'm gonna keep that to myself
- 54:58for now maybe on a later episode it's
- 55:00fine yeah this is the lunch show um
- 55:03with that guys i'm gonna get back to
- 55:05work time for you to get back to
- 55:06work as well i won't call you knuckleheads
- 55:09because i'm the one that doesn't read
- 55:10anymore
- 55:13With that,
- 55:15I will catch you all Sunday night for
- 55:18Sunday Night CrossFit Talk.
- 55:19And then next week, we will be back,

- 55:24cowboy.

- 55:27and we'll talk to you all soon.
- 55:29Stay jazzy.
- 55:31You wouldn't wait to get to the editing
- 55:33room to jazz me up.
- 55:35I'm already jazzy.
- 55:46Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the
- 55:48saddle.
- 55:48Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the
- 55:50saddle.
- 55:50Talking reps,
- 55:51real life strength in the battle.
- 55:55From the gym to the screen, yeah,
- 55:56we cover it all.
- 55:59Midday motivation every time you press
