- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Of course, I'm your host, Clay and with me like
- 0:28Speaker 2: every single week. Of course, is Katie, Katie? How you
- 0:32Speaker 2: doing that? Did your arm just pop? Yes?
- 0:35Speaker 3: It did. Have you ever heard my arms? My arms pop,
- 0:41Speaker 3: my knees pop, my shoulders.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Pop, My knees literally pop every single time I squat down,
- 0:48Speaker 2: every single time.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Without that, I have been trying to get diagnosed with
- 0:52Speaker 3: eller stand loss just so people will stop like getting shocked.
- 0:57Speaker 3: But like I can go like this.
- 1:03Speaker 2: And okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Those are you have to pass like two tests for
- 1:12Speaker 3: Ella's dead looks for like the flexibility portion. That's two
- 1:16Speaker 3: of them.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no not for me, not for me, No no, no,
- 1:21Speaker 2: no no no m h.
- 1:25Speaker 3: People will literally I've told people like, oh, my shoulder
- 1:30Speaker 3: just popped out. I had to push it back in.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I don't like actively dislocate anything, but it does. It
- 1:37Speaker 3: shifts out where I can feel and it limits myka.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Mister Glass, Jesus, you actually understand that reference now I do. Yeah, yeah, awesome.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Three years ago you didn't. But yeah, guys, we are
- 2:00Speaker 2: here today. There is hardly any news out there. It's
- 2:04Speaker 2: been a very quiet, quiet week. There is some potential
- 2:12Speaker 2: Season two whispers and or comments made about mal that
- 2:16Speaker 2: we're going to talk about. There is very little to
- 2:23Speaker 2: talk about with zero Company, which is of course the
- 2:26Speaker 2: Star Wars game. Some details have come out. I'm not
- 2:30Speaker 2: gonna go in like extreme detail about it. But one
- 2:35Speaker 2: thing does worry me about the two articles that are
- 2:40Speaker 2: on Star Wars News. That is where we kind of
- 2:43Speaker 2: look at all of our articles for the week. They
- 2:47Speaker 2: keep up with a lot of things. So I will
- 2:51Speaker 2: point you guys in that direction for all of the
- 2:54Speaker 2: like really deep details for all the stuff that we're
- 2:57Speaker 2: going to be talking about today. And then of course
- 3:00Speaker 2: the third piece of news book news when it comes
- 3:03Speaker 2: to some Shakespeare in Aska. So that is the news
- 3:08Speaker 2: that we will be talking about. But our main topic
- 3:11Speaker 2: for today, of course, is the legacy of Vader volume
- 3:16Speaker 2: yes two.
- 3:18Speaker 3: But I have to also pause because I would be
- 3:21Speaker 3: remiss if I did not plug my favorite author who
- 3:26Speaker 3: just released in your book new series entirely. I posted
- 3:32Speaker 3: about this yesterday because.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I was gonna say that I think this was on
- 3:35Speaker 2: your story, Yes, yes, yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 3: But y'all, this is my favorite author like that is
- 3:41Speaker 3: non Star Wars related. I have read every single one
- 3:44Speaker 3: of her books. I have not none of her books,
- 3:46Speaker 3: miss okay. My favorite completed series of hers is definitely
- 3:53Speaker 3: Kate Daniels, but Hidden Legacy is most people's favorite. Hidden
- 3:58Speaker 3: Legacy is a three book series that then has a
- 4:00Speaker 3: sequel series that is also three books, Kate Kate Daniels.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I have recommended it to you because Hidden Legacy is
- 4:09Speaker 3: a super soldier serum.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Take ah okay, okay. I believe that is why.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Kate Daniels is a finished series at ten books, and
- 4:23Speaker 3: then there is several spinoff series happening at the moment.
- 4:26Speaker 3: But her new book is called This Kingdom Will Not
- 4:29Speaker 3: Kill Me. It is the first book in Maggie. The
- 4:34Speaker 3: Undying is a portal fantasy where a girl wakes up.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I say a girl, a twenty six year old wakes
- 4:42Speaker 3: up in her favorite novel world and this is her
- 4:49Speaker 3: favorite series growing up. It got her out of a
- 4:52Speaker 3: lot of depressive episodes and there was only ever two
- 4:56Speaker 3: books released and it was said to be a trilogy,
- 4:59Speaker 3: but the author disappeared and never wrote the third one.
- 5:02Speaker 3: So she commits to trying to change things because she
- 5:07Speaker 3: grows to care about people with her knowledge of the
- 5:10Speaker 3: two books. But she does not know everything. So I'm
- 5:14Speaker 3: about two thirds of the way through. I have about
- 5:17Speaker 3: four hours left at one point five speed, so it's
- 5:24Speaker 3: not another miss y'all. I was supposed to pressure wash
- 5:27Speaker 3: yesterday for four hours. I got lost in the book
- 5:32Speaker 3: and pressure watched for eight hours.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Matt came out to get me for lunch and I
- 5:43Speaker 3: had only pressure washed for three hours that morning. He
- 5:45Speaker 3: came out to get me flunch. She was like, Katie,
- 5:46Speaker 3: it's till thirty. It's time to go inside and eat
- 5:48Speaker 3: some lunch. Take a break. I ate lunch. I went
- 5:51Speaker 3: back outside to finish up my four hours. I looked
- 5:55Speaker 3: up and it was four thirty.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Nice, very nice.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Please go check it out.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I am starting to remember. I am gonna call out
- 6:06Speaker 2: Abby for just a little bit here. Katie recommended to Abby.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Uh one of Kate Daniel's books was uh Magic Bites.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I believe it was. And the only reason why I
- 6:24Speaker 2: remember that is because I recognized the cover because it's
- 6:28Speaker 2: sitting in our libro dot f m app at like
- 6:35Speaker 2: I believe still the first chapter. So she Abby, Abby,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I have I have realized Abby is not the fiction reader,
- 6:49Speaker 2: she is the non fiction reader. So totally understanding.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I don't understand that.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I don't understand it either, I really really I I
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'm I always tell her I get enough real world
- 7:06Speaker 2: stuff in the real world. I don't need any real
- 7:09Speaker 2: world stuff in my books, you know. Now, again, books
- 7:16Speaker 2: very much reflect that of the real world and have
- 7:20Speaker 2: some of those undertones exactly, and it and it kind
- 7:27Speaker 2: of evolves into something else, you know, and and I
- 7:31Speaker 2: do enjoy that. But we are going to jump into news. Now,
- 7:37Speaker 2: let's go ahead and let me just throw this at
- 7:39Speaker 2: you guys, because again, it's not a whole lot of
- 7:41Speaker 2: stuff here. There are two separate articles in Star Wars
- 7:46Speaker 2: News Debt excuse me. One of them is titled uh
- 7:53Speaker 2: bit Reactor Leads give new story, combat and gameplay details
- 7:59Speaker 2: for Star Wars zero Company. And then the second article,
- 8:03Speaker 2: which is a little bit smaller, says uh star Wars
- 8:06Speaker 2: zero Company New Enemy faction reveal combat influenced by player exploration.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Those are the two articles. There is a lot of
- 8:16Speaker 2: details as far as like characterization, like how many factions
- 8:20Speaker 2: and like all this other like the builds look amazing,
- 8:25Speaker 2: It looks like it's gonna be a very fun, fun game,
- 8:28Speaker 2: and I highly recommend you look at these two articles.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But these two articles say the exact same thing in
- 8:37Speaker 2: their closing statement, which does worry me for the twenty
- 8:41Speaker 2: twenty six release. It states as follows, says Ray here
- 8:53Speaker 2: Zero Company doesn't have a release date, but pc Gamer
- 8:56Speaker 2: says it should be ready to hit later this year,
- 9:01Speaker 2: And then all the way down at the end of
- 9:02Speaker 2: the second one, it says Zero Company does not yet
- 9:05Speaker 2: have a release date, but is expected to arrive later
- 9:09Speaker 2: this year. That is a clear sign to me it's
- 9:14Speaker 2: coming out in twenty twenty seven. That's what that tells me.
- 9:19Speaker 2: You whenever games do this, there is always a oh,
- 9:28Speaker 2: you know, we just want to push back, we want
- 9:30Speaker 2: to make sure that everything is perfect for the release,
- 9:37Speaker 2: and they'll say, oh, we're moving it to a twenty
- 9:40Speaker 2: twenty seven release when they've never really officially really said
- 9:45Speaker 2: the release was going to be this year, but they
- 9:47Speaker 2: keep kind of saying that it's going to be. This
- 9:52Speaker 2: does worry me because I do not want this to
- 9:56Speaker 2: be stuck in development. Health. Everything looks great, but again
- 10:03Speaker 2: these are stills. I haven't gotten to sit down and
- 10:07Speaker 2: watch any possible videos that are linked to these articles
- 10:11Speaker 2: at all. But still like it's something that I feel
- 10:16Speaker 2: like should be worried about, especially like for one I
- 10:23Speaker 2: missed out on it. Again, I'm I will probably double check. Actually,
- 10:26Speaker 2: since Payday is this week, I'm pretty sure I looked
- 10:31Speaker 2: at the PlayStation store and I saw that the latest
- 10:38Speaker 2: Star Wars game, what was it, Outlaws Outlaws was like
- 10:41Speaker 2: twenty dollars again, so yeah, I might jump on that
- 10:47Speaker 2: just to kind of buy me some time with this one,
- 10:49Speaker 2: because this is the game that I've really wanted for
- 10:52Speaker 2: a really long time. This was the strategy game kind
- 10:55Speaker 2: of you know, me and Taylor over at a Geek
- 11:00Speaker 2: we're kind of nerding out about this together, so like,
- 11:04Speaker 2: we are very excited about this, but again, don't know
- 11:07Speaker 2: if it's gonna make that twenty twenty.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be interesting to see for sure, because when
- 11:13Speaker 3: the announcement trailer came out for this, it looked super cool.
- 11:17Speaker 3: But again with video games, I just have learned like, Okay,
- 11:22Speaker 3: I'm not trusting anything basically until it's available for purchase basically.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And in the most recent years that's basically what it's
- 11:33Speaker 2: been because nine times out of ten unfortunately, and this
- 11:38Speaker 2: is kind of ridiculous, as like in the gaming space,
- 11:44Speaker 2: it's really ridiculous that studios feel like they absolutely need
- 11:49Speaker 2: to announce a game years before it's even ready.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's uncool to fans, and like, I don't even
- 12:00Speaker 3: I think this game has pre orders available at the moment,
- 12:03Speaker 3: Like at the very least, you need to put pre
- 12:06Speaker 3: orders up. Like if you're ready for pre orders, we
- 12:11Speaker 3: can talk about saying, oh, okay, we can release this. Yeah,
- 12:15Speaker 3: Like if you're not ready to accept money for it,
- 12:18Speaker 3: I don't.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Believe it exists, yeah, which I mean in genuine honesty,
- 12:24Speaker 2: Like pre orders for games do not happen as often
- 12:30Speaker 2: as they used to, and it's usually not until about
- 12:36Speaker 2: a three month window is when peers finally start to
- 12:40Speaker 2: really come into place. Like I've never really seen a
- 12:44Speaker 2: pre order window in this generation. And I say this generation,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I mean like twenty twenty. I haven't really seen a
- 12:55Speaker 2: pre order that is wider than a six month window.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 2: But uh, Katie, the next piece.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Of news with the uh Ahsoka inside editions.
- 13:18Speaker 3: UH four Star Wars is very well known for the
- 13:22Speaker 3: William Shakespeare adaptations, and so the next one that is
- 13:30Speaker 3: coming that has been announced is going to be Ahsoka's Tale,
- 13:35Speaker 3: which is the adaptation of the first season of Ahsoka.
- 13:41Speaker 3: This one will be the eleventh official entry in the
- 13:44Speaker 3: Shakespeare series, after the nine Skywalker Saga adaptations and this Aprils,
- 13:51Speaker 3: which it comes out this month. The Mandalorian of Navarro
- 13:54Speaker 3: part the first. So it'd be interesting, uh to see.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I'm shakespeare person, so I have not ever checked out
- 14:03Speaker 3: any one of these. It's not something that I'm hugely
- 14:05Speaker 3: interested in. So this is not something that's for me
- 14:12Speaker 3: to to look at.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Well, no, like neither like for me. I remember, like
- 14:19Speaker 2: way back when when they first started to get really popular,
- 14:24Speaker 2: the aesthetic of the books really look really nice. Yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 2: I like the aesthetic of the books. I think it
- 14:33Speaker 2: would be a fun Like again, we have small children,
- 14:38Speaker 2: so it's gonna be a while before I can do this,
- 14:40Speaker 2: but it would be like a fun coffee table book.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It would start a conversation, you know.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 2: But I am also not really like head over heels
- 14:53Speaker 2: over Shakespearean literature. Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Uh, it's it's like again, I think I said this
- 15:10Speaker 6: when we last talked about it with I believe it
- 15:13Speaker 6: was either Mandalorian or boba fat when.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I said, like, oh, you know, uh, the the what
- 15:21Speaker 2: was the Pride and prejudice and zombies? You know, like
- 15:26Speaker 2: that seemed like a really fun idea and fun little gimmick.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I think it was a book before it was a movie.
- 15:33Speaker 2: But like it's a fun idea, it's really great, you know,
- 15:39Speaker 2: But I just can't process that in my brain. Like
- 15:43Speaker 2: I think my brain would hurt trying to read Star
- 15:47Speaker 2: Wars with shakespearean Uh.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I totally, I totally get that because I'm the same
- 15:58Speaker 3: way as I would read something in my English class
- 16:02Speaker 3: in high school. What's the interpretation? And I'm like, forget
- 16:08Speaker 3: about the interpretation? What the heck did I actually just read.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Like so.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Not interested and at this point, like you said, young kids,
- 16:19Speaker 3: but I'm also running out of bookshelf space and I
- 16:22Speaker 3: know this looks empty behind me and then I could
- 16:24Speaker 3: fit more books here. No, I have five books of
- 16:27Speaker 3: boxes packed away. There is no more room.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Now.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I'm on a very limited book by until we move
- 16:40Speaker 3: and then I can get more bookshelps.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Now, the last piece of news, I was unable to
- 16:47Speaker 2: read the article for it, but I did. I don't
- 16:54Speaker 2: know if this necessarily sparked the conversations to be able
- 16:57Speaker 2: to get this quote. But I sent you a text
- 17:01Speaker 2: a couple of years ago that was stating like, oh,
- 17:05Speaker 2: Disney Plus has uh you know, uh, this mall show
- 17:10Speaker 2: the Shadow of the Sith, not Shadow of Sith, Shadow
- 17:15Speaker 2: Shadow Lord under season one, and so everybody's like, that
- 17:21Speaker 2: means it's gonna be season two. And then Katie over
- 17:24Speaker 2: here is like, uh, correction, they do that with every show,
- 17:30Speaker 2: and she got her receipts. She screenshotted the I believe
- 17:35Speaker 2: it was uh Tales of the Jedi, and it has
- 17:40Speaker 2: one season. It says season one, and I was like, okay, yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 2: that pays total sense, absolutely total sense. But you said
- 17:50Speaker 2: that you saw this article here on Star Wars News
- 17:52Speaker 2: Debt with now some rumblings of a possible season two collider.
- 18:03Speaker 3: This was an interview by Adam Blevins and Maggie love
- 18:08Speaker 3: It with executive producer Athena yavette Portillo. Actually Maggie was
- 18:17Speaker 3: the only one who did the interview, but she asked
- 18:21Speaker 3: if season two of the shows already in the works,
- 18:24Speaker 3: and Athena said, we have other things in development and
- 18:28Speaker 3: in progress, not necessarily related to the show. So again
- 18:32Speaker 3: it all depends on whether the fans really do want
- 18:35Speaker 3: another season, and then we're all for it. I would
- 18:38Speaker 3: say this probably means that there's another Tales of coming,
- 18:44Speaker 3: at least potentially. My next guest would be another kid
- 18:53Speaker 3: show like Young Jedi Adventures with something in that vein,
- 18:59Speaker 3: And then you could all still potentially see Lucasfilm working
- 19:03Speaker 3: on the Ninth Jedi, even though I can't remember that,
- 19:06Speaker 3: I think it's production ig I want to say, who's
- 19:09Speaker 3: doing Ninth Jedi. Even though they're doing most of the work,
- 19:13Speaker 3: Lucasfilm is still probably producing a lot of the elements
- 19:16Speaker 3: that is also those would be my three yeses as
- 19:21Speaker 3: to what they're working on, but it sounds like everything
- 19:26Speaker 3: else that they're working on we might not. If there
- 19:29Speaker 3: is a Mall season two, it might not be twenty
- 19:32Speaker 3: twenty seven, It might be twenty twenty eight.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Well, okay, so that brings up a new question for me,
- 19:39Speaker 2: and I know we always tend to go back to
- 19:42Speaker 2: these conversations about animation and their ongoing series, but recently
- 19:51Speaker 2: as recently as of course, again, I would say season
- 19:56Speaker 2: seven of Clone Wars excuse me. Season seven was of
- 20:03Speaker 2: course a part of the ongoing series of Clone Wars,
- 20:07Speaker 2: but it already had been so separated from the original
- 20:13Speaker 2: series it still kind of like stood on its own
- 20:18Speaker 2: upon release. So when you look at that season seven,
- 20:23Speaker 2: when we go back to twenty twenty one, I believe
- 20:26Speaker 2: it was maybe even twenty twenty two, you look at
- 20:33Speaker 2: Clone war season seven, moving all the way until today,
- 20:38Speaker 2: we have not had an ongoing Star Wars animated series
- 20:47Speaker 2: other than Young Jedi Adventures.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Do you believe what about that, bet or you don't
- 20:57Speaker 3: count that as ongoing?
- 21:02Speaker 2: It was three series? It was it was three seasons.
- 21:04Speaker 2: It was three seasons. Yeah, yeah, okay, so since bad Batch,
- 21:13Speaker 2: since bad Batch, and that was kind of just like
- 21:17Speaker 2: in the middle of it. Honestly, when you look at
- 21:19Speaker 2: everything from season seven to today, bad Batch was just
- 21:24Speaker 2: in the middle of everything. Do you believe lucasfilm is
- 21:33Speaker 2: attempting to stay in the realm of like solo series
- 21:41Speaker 2: like one shot or one season like little like oh well,
- 21:46Speaker 2: fill in this part of the timeline and feel in
- 21:48Speaker 2: this part of the timeline and feel in this part
- 21:50Speaker 2: of the timeline, or do you think this is all
- 21:54Speaker 2: just kind of for the sake of like, hey, we're
- 21:57Speaker 2: working on something bigger but we need to give people
- 22:03Speaker 2: something while we're working on this much bigger thing. What
- 22:08Speaker 2: do you think?
- 22:09Speaker 3: I think the answer is closer to the first, but
- 22:12Speaker 3: not exactly the first. I don't think any of these
- 22:18Speaker 3: animated series are working towards anything bigger. Necessarily, They're just
- 22:24Speaker 3: here to fill in the gaps of Dave Maloney's giant
- 22:29Speaker 3: story part of the universe. That's my opinion. I think
- 22:37Speaker 3: the other thing to think about, too is, and I
- 22:41Speaker 3: don't know if this is still the case, but with
- 22:43Speaker 3: the Hand of Montana anniversary that came up last week,
- 22:49Speaker 3: I got reminded of this is that Disney or the
- 22:54Speaker 3: Writer's Guild of America typically has a kind of tract
- 22:58Speaker 3: stipulation that says if a show goes past three seasons,
- 23:04Speaker 3: then there's basically a higher profit for everybody involved, Like you.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Haven't paid more?
- 23:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I say writers Guild. I don't remember if it
- 23:14Speaker 3: was Writers Guild or Characters Yeah, saga. I don't know
- 23:22Speaker 3: if that's still the case, but that's why you saw
- 23:23Speaker 3: things like Panah, Montana Forever, Sweet Life of Zach and Cody,
- 23:29Speaker 3: Sweet Life on Debt.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Because they would change the change the three seasons.
- 23:36Speaker 3: And that's still happening with the Disney Channel shows that
- 23:40Speaker 3: are happening right now. I would imagine that it's the
- 23:43Speaker 3: same thing, which is why bad Batch was probably cut
- 23:46Speaker 3: at the third series seasons, and so I would imagine,
- 23:51Speaker 3: and the same thing for Young Jeda Adventures, Like, so
- 23:54Speaker 3: I imagine we're going to see shows that are set
- 23:59Speaker 3: up for three seas and no more than three seasons.
- 24:02Speaker 2: So is that how they are getting away with? Uh?
- 24:06Speaker 2: I guess Tales Tales of the Jedi, Tales of the Sith,
- 24:10Speaker 2: Tales of the Underworld, like, those are three completely different titles,
- 24:16Speaker 2: all under the same umbrella, though, I would imagine.
- 24:21Speaker 3: So now those stories, those stories have not carried over
- 24:27Speaker 3: as much, and they're supposedly only written by Dave Filoni,
- 24:30Speaker 3: So I don't imagine you have to pay out the
- 24:33Speaker 3: lazoo to the writer's build if you were to go, like, oh,
- 24:36Speaker 3: Tales of season one Tales of season two. Yeah, because
- 24:40Speaker 3: your actors differ so much, not that they have to
- 24:43Speaker 3: because it's voice actors, but each character being a main focus,
- 24:49Speaker 3: you've had different actors basically, So.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yes, no question, I could I could see there be
- 25:00Speaker 2: being some legal loopholes there because yeah, like Dave Filoni
- 25:05Speaker 2: does write everything, but he doesn't, uh, because I would
- 25:10Speaker 2: assume even like this, it's the same studios, the same
- 25:15Speaker 2: animation studios, the same workers.
- 25:17Speaker 3: You know, I'm sure, but those are different contracts compared
- 25:20Speaker 3: to your actresses.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Correct, correct, But I would assume, and this is you
- 25:25Speaker 2: know again they you know what they say about assuming,
- 25:28Speaker 2: But I would assume that there is something similar for
- 25:35Speaker 2: animation studios that say, like, hey, we're working on a
- 25:38Speaker 2: prolonged series. If it goes after three seasons, we all
- 25:43Speaker 2: get paid more Like that makes sense overall, It does
- 25:49Speaker 2: make sense. Now again, it could be completely different. Yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 2: but like what a slap in the face if it's
- 25:59Speaker 2: not different for the same animation studio that has literally
- 26:04Speaker 2: been the same animation across the board. Yeah, with every
- 26:10Speaker 2: single show, it's like, oh wait, but this is a
- 26:12Speaker 2: new show, so you get the same rate. Oh, this
- 26:15Speaker 2: is a new show, so you get the same rate.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Oh it's a new Hey you haven't slept in eighty
- 26:21Speaker 2: four days, it's still a new show. You still keep
- 26:25Speaker 2: the same rate. Yeah, that would be absolutely insane.
- 26:29Speaker 3: It's it's not a thing that I'm a fan of
- 26:33Speaker 3: because I used to think as a kid. Oh, it's cool,
- 26:36Speaker 3: like we're moving on to the next part of their story.
- 26:39Speaker 3: But like when you look at it, it's really a
- 26:42Speaker 3: continuation and it shouldn't matter what the subtitle is at
- 26:46Speaker 3: the end of the day. So it's uncool, but that's
- 26:53Speaker 3: what you get when you have capitalists minded people who
- 26:56Speaker 3: look for every legal loophole in the universe.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeh yeah, that's just very unfortunate.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Anyways, I have a question for you related to Shadow Lord.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Okay, because we really.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Haven't done this. The Shadow Lord comes out next week.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Oh god, okay, yeah, that's real quick.
- 27:20Speaker 3: So what is one thing that you would predict to
- 27:25Speaker 3: happen in Shadow Lord Season one?
- 27:31Speaker 2: Okay, so I'm going to give a hope and a
- 27:40Speaker 2: little bit of a prediction, but it's kind of already
- 27:44Speaker 2: muddled because of something that they've already confirmed, which I
- 27:48Speaker 2: guess we haven't really shared. There has been confirmation that
- 27:53Speaker 2: there are visual Easter eggs from Forstum Leap in Shadow Lord.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't know that.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yes, so it has been confirmed that there will be
- 28:10Speaker 2: visual Easter eggs. I want there to be a reference,
- 28:21Speaker 2: a direct reference to a single character from Forced the least,
- 28:30Speaker 2: whether that be star Killer, whether that be Juno, whether
- 28:33Speaker 2: that be Proxy. Like I want there to be like
- 28:40Speaker 2: a like basically an acknowledgment of like, hey, these characters
- 28:47Speaker 2: are in the Star Wars universe. Now again, I've always
- 28:52Speaker 2: said star Killer is basically like a big no no
- 29:00Speaker 2: in the Star Wars universe. He is broken. He is
- 29:06Speaker 2: just so overpowered. It would break the Star Wars continuity.
- 29:12Speaker 2: It just would. But characters like Juno and characters like
- 29:16Speaker 2: Proxy are characters that would not break the continuity of
- 29:23Speaker 2: Star Wars cannon and so I think that would be
- 29:26Speaker 2: really fun. So if I were to see Proxy or Juno,
- 29:30Speaker 2: I think that would be absolutely aesthetic.
- 29:34Speaker 3: So what if it was something as simple as like
- 29:38Speaker 3: Mallship is named like the Juveno or something.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I would be totally down with that too. Again, just
- 29:45Speaker 2: like one small like acknowledgment. There is also like I'm
- 29:57Speaker 2: not gonna say like story plots for for Forced Unleashed
- 30:01Speaker 2: because I think that's too on the nose. But like,
- 30:07Speaker 2: who was the Jedi that was in Forced Unleashed?
- 30:13Speaker 3: Oh, I don't remember.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I remember his face, I remember what he looked like.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Uh man bun gray hair ends up being blinded. Coda
- 30:29Speaker 2: was it Coda, Master, Is it Master? Hold On?
- 30:37Speaker 3: Hold on Ram Coda.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yes, it is Coda. Yeah, you're right.
- 30:42Speaker 3: How do you doubt me?
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm sorry, not Coda. But yeah, like even even like
- 30:51Speaker 2: if we were to get a reference, uh to Master Coda,
- 30:56Speaker 2: like I think that would be cool, you know, but
- 31:00Speaker 2: I would say a reference to Force Unleash other than
- 31:05Speaker 2: just a visual reference, because again they've already confirmed that.
- 31:10Speaker 2: And then I'm trying to think of there's anything else
- 31:19Speaker 2: that I've kind of been thinking about with this. We
- 31:23Speaker 2: know that this is like almost immediately after or a
- 31:26Speaker 2: couple of years after. I keep forgetting after a year
- 31:32Speaker 2: after Order sixty six. One thing that I do not
- 31:35Speaker 2: want lucasfilm. Look at me in the eyes here, look
- 31:39Speaker 2: at me. No Grogu, I don't want it. That's only
- 31:47Speaker 2: for the movie, that's only for the show. No more.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I don't need it. I don't need it.
- 32:04Speaker 3: See. But I also that was gonna be My prediction
- 32:08Speaker 3: is we were going some sort of reference to Grogu
- 32:14Speaker 3: because we're gonna talk about this with our season three rewatch,
- 32:16Speaker 3: but that's not until May. But calier on Beck takes
- 32:21Speaker 3: off with Grogu to parts unknown see oh what if
- 32:27Speaker 3: he's trying to ferry them.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Around, not gro Gu, but the path. I want more
- 32:35Speaker 2: of the path. Give me more of the path. That's
- 32:37Speaker 2: what I need. That's it, that's what I want.
- 32:39Speaker 3: I don't know if we're going to get the path
- 32:41Speaker 3: that early.
- 32:43Speaker 2: You don't think so, you know, or at least like it.
- 32:47Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Because Okay, obi Wan took place.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Maybe I'm looking two or three nine BB why Solo
- 33:08Speaker 3: takes place ten obi Wan takes place?
- 33:11Speaker 2: Nine? Okay, okay, but see in obi Wan, it did
- 33:20Speaker 2: feel like that the path was like already, like oh,
- 33:24Speaker 2: for sure, thing it hadn't just started.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Right, because it's been ten years since Order sixty six. Yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 3: so you could maybe see like the inklings start up.
- 33:39Speaker 3: I don't think you're going to see like, oh, we've
- 33:42Speaker 3: got to take the path, We've got to do this.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, you're right, because I don't think like
- 33:48Speaker 2: we're not going what are we going to see Quinlan?
- 33:51Speaker 2: You know Quinlan?
- 33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, because we know that Flone considers dark Disciple Cannon,
- 34:00Speaker 3: so it you could, in theory have a sneak peak
- 34:07Speaker 3: of Quinlan. But to our current understanding, Mall takes place
- 34:13Speaker 3: all on the same planet.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay, that I did not know.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I believe that's the case, is that it all takes
- 34:22Speaker 3: place on the city planet.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Jarris, did ma gush am? I gonna have to rewatch
- 34:30Speaker 2: Clone Wars Jesus Christ. Did mal and Ventures ever interact?
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yes? Because of when the brother thing takes place, there
- 34:43Speaker 3: is a venturous obi Wan fight with the brother in law.
- 34:49Speaker 2: That's right, they team up for a for a quick second.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Hmmm.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Because again you look at the Tales of the Underworld,
- 35:02Speaker 2: venturous was a part of that where we did see
- 35:07Speaker 2: an inquisitor. Inquisitors are here, like this is early inquisitor days, right, Yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 2: I there's a possibility there. I will say that, Oh
- 35:20Speaker 2: my god, hold on, no, no, no, no, no no.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I was about to go with us insane theory is small.
- 35:33Speaker 2: One of the reasons why the path exists. Could that
- 35:42Speaker 2: it is that like his big f u to Palpatine
- 35:45Speaker 2: is like, hey, I'm gonna save any Jedi that I
- 35:48Speaker 2: possibly can, because just think about the hope that the
- 35:51Speaker 2: slight piece of hope that he has when he gets
- 35:54Speaker 2: defeated by obi Wan in rebels. Yeah, see the chosen one,
- 35:59Speaker 2: Like ah, oh, I could see that, especially.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Especially with what Kieran knows about the Jedi and the
- 36:13Speaker 3: Sith in the comics. I could see them tying that
- 36:17Speaker 3: together in like a this is what we do. This
- 36:23Speaker 3: is how Crimson Dawn got its start. We were firing
- 36:26Speaker 3: Jedi across and we built up a network kind of.
- 36:30Speaker 2: That would be insane. That is That is my out
- 36:34Speaker 2: of pocket prediction. That is now my out of pocket
- 36:39Speaker 2: prediction is that Mal has some sort of hand in
- 36:44Speaker 2: creating the path.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah. I could see the path now that you've we've
- 36:52Speaker 3: kind of talked through that, just the creation of it.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Not like Devin and her Master are going to jump
- 37:02Speaker 3: on the path or you.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no no, because for one, for one, the first
- 37:07Speaker 2: Jedi that sees Mall on any type of like rendezvous
- 37:12Speaker 2: through the path, that's gonna cause trouble. Like no, that
- 37:16Speaker 2: that can't happen. But I can see there being an
- 37:22Speaker 2: idea and Mall being a part of that idea.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Is this our Paths show? Is that why we got
- 37:31Speaker 3: this show?
- 37:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Kellerin Beck is my big one is I think we'll
- 37:39Speaker 3: see kellerin Beck maybe not Grogu specifically, but I do
- 37:46Speaker 3: think that because Kellerin knows the capability of Grogu. Mm hmmm,
- 37:54Speaker 3: that we could see him going to Mall for help
- 37:57Speaker 3: to get him out, which also might start up the path.
- 38:01Speaker 3: But I could also see that that happens and then
- 38:06Speaker 3: Maul betrays Kelurin, Calurin dies, Mall turns Grogu over to
- 38:11Speaker 3: the Empire for credits and uh like removal of Crimson
- 38:17Speaker 3: Dawn from the radar.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, I can see that. I can see that
- 38:26Speaker 2: a lot. Actually, hmmm, I don't want to see Calorin die, though,
- 38:32Speaker 2: That's the thing I I would I would totally be
- 38:38Speaker 2: down with the assumption that he died. I don't want
- 38:40Speaker 2: to see him die.
- 38:41Speaker 7: I don't want to either, more so because like well exactly,
- 38:46Speaker 7: I think that, uh, he's already gone through like so
- 38:51Speaker 7: much in the Star Wars like community and stuff.
- 38:55Speaker 2: And for everybody to have that like cheering moment when
- 38:59Speaker 2: he was in Mandalorian in the flashbacks, Like, I do
- 39:05Speaker 2: think that, like if they make it canon that like
- 39:11Speaker 2: he died off screen somewhere, you know, I'd totally be
- 39:15Speaker 2: down with that. But yeah, hmm.
- 39:20Speaker 3: So Wikipedia has it that Calorin was born in sixty
- 39:28Speaker 3: seven bb Y Okay, there's no death date obviously, but
- 39:40Speaker 3: the timing probably fits a little bit right in there.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean again, like with the timeline being
- 39:52Speaker 2: circulating around order sixty six, no Jedi is safe. So yeah,
- 39:59Speaker 2: it does make sense. It does.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Apparently Kellerin was mentioned in the video game Star Wars
- 40:06Speaker 3: Hunters that no longer exists.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Ah, that's right, yeah, yeah, all right, well I believe
- 40:18Speaker 2: that is all of our news.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Yes it is.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And now we will move on to the Legacy of
- 40:30Speaker 2: Vader Volume two.
- 40:33Speaker 3: The Reign of Kylo writ.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I literally read this all today, Katie. Initial thoughts.
- 40:48Speaker 3: You gotta tell us who wrote and did all the
- 40:50Speaker 3: things first?
- 40:51Speaker 2: Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, I apologize. I apologize, of.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Course, a better at crediting people today.
- 40:57Speaker 2: This is Charles Soul. Charles is the writer here and
- 41:02Speaker 2: where is the Is it not on the first page?
- 41:06Speaker 1: Oh?
- 41:06Speaker 2: There it is Charles Soul, and then artists is Luke Ross.
- 41:10Speaker 2: This is issues seven, ten, and twelve, and then oh ten, eleven, twelve,
- 41:18Speaker 2: excuse me, and then Stefano Ralph Ellie with issues eight
- 41:25Speaker 2: and nine. Of course we also have uh the colorist
- 41:30Speaker 2: which is Nolan Woodward and Letterer VCS Joe Karamagna, with
- 41:37Speaker 2: the cover artist being Derek chu which I absolutely love
- 41:41Speaker 2: Derek Choo's art, absolutely amazing. He of course also did
- 41:47Speaker 2: the art for the Trades. But Katie initial thoughts on
- 41:58Speaker 2: volume two because I do feel like looking back at
- 42:04Speaker 2: volume one versus Volume two, there's a little bit and
- 42:08Speaker 2: I and again this may you know, have to do
- 42:12Speaker 2: with some other plans that were going into effect at
- 42:16Speaker 2: Lucasfilm at some part of time there there there there
- 42:20Speaker 2: seemed to be a little bit of a shift, an
- 42:24Speaker 2: ever so slight shift in the way this book started
- 42:28Speaker 2: to move. So how do you how do you feel
- 42:30Speaker 2: about everything?
- 42:32Speaker 3: I disagree that there's a shift in the movement with
- 42:38Speaker 3: how Charles was handling Ben Kyle Rinn in this instance.
- 42:44Speaker 3: I think this was the story that Charles wanted to tell.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Because a lot of people like, we'll just go ahead
- 42:51Speaker 3: and jump to the back page, because I think you're
- 42:54Speaker 3: insinuating with this guy this bag page.
- 42:57Speaker 2: There's there's two things that I want to talk about.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Kylo Wren will return. Yes, this takes place after the
- 43:05Speaker 3: last Jedi.
- 43:06Speaker 2: So Kylo Wrinnwalker Rise of Skywalker. Yes, but when you
- 43:14Speaker 2: look at the back page, uh, huh. And again this
- 43:19Speaker 2: does have to deal with the fact that again Kylo
- 43:23Speaker 2: Wren is no more in the Rise of Skywalker and
- 43:28Speaker 2: he has been solo. But that little silhouette there is foreshadowing,
- 43:39Speaker 2: of course, the change. There are many different parts of
- 43:44Speaker 2: this book that insinuate that there is still a light
- 43:50Speaker 2: side to Kylo. Red I had mentioned it to you
- 43:56Speaker 2: months ago, like ah, crap, I saw a boiler on
- 44:01Speaker 2: Twitter about legacy of Vader blah blah blah, and it
- 44:04Speaker 2: was the Luke Skywalker conversation. Yeah, it was the fact
- 44:12Speaker 2: that Kylo Wrinn sought after the light This okay, okay,
- 44:21Speaker 2: this bitch is so freaking spiteful of Luke Skywalker. He
- 44:29Speaker 2: is so spiteful in the dark side. He's like, I'm
- 44:32Speaker 2: gonna go to the light side just so I can
- 44:35Speaker 2: shit talk Luke Skywalker. That's literally what this man did. Yep,
- 44:40Speaker 2: that's literally what this man did. And I think that
- 44:43Speaker 2: is actually hilarious.
- 44:47Speaker 3: He's he's so spiteful and is like, I want to
- 44:52Speaker 3: earn my place in the Skywalker legacy. Well, dude, you're
- 44:55Speaker 3: doing it the wrong way.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Like jeez, I.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Thought this was absolutely hilarious because I.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Love how Luke is also like, I'm not here for Kylo,
- 45:07Speaker 3: I'm here for Ben. I will always be here for Ben.
- 45:10Speaker 2: I know he is just like poking that bear. Man.
- 45:12Speaker 2: He is just like he's poking the bear. But I
- 45:15Speaker 2: also love that, Like everybody's like, you shouldn't be here,
- 45:22Speaker 2: what are you doing here? There's no like you. You
- 45:24Speaker 2: literally cannot be here. How did you even get in here?
- 45:29Speaker 3: Like I want to know who the other Force ghosts.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I want to know who that Force ghost is. But
- 45:34Speaker 2: there was a cameo for uh let's see here. It
- 45:41Speaker 2: was I Believe Yoda, Qui gon Jin and Obi Wan
- 45:46Speaker 2: Kenobi when he.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Said the teachers.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, he says, uh I come from.
- 46:05Speaker 3: A long line of teachers.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a Qui gon Jin, Yoda and Obi Wan Kenobi.
- 46:17Speaker 2: And I thought that was pretty cool. The fact that
- 46:25Speaker 2: he does have so much light in him, though, I
- 46:29Speaker 2: thought was a really interesting concept. There's even a moment
- 46:34Speaker 2: I believe before this or after this, I have to
- 46:38Speaker 2: I think it's immediately before he's actually like fighting off
- 46:47Speaker 2: like all of these like spinal cord heads of everybody
- 46:53Speaker 2: within the Skywalker Solo family. But he it's so cool
- 47:00Speaker 2: because he brings out his lightsaber and you see the
- 47:03Speaker 2: red hand and then he finally starts to defend himself
- 47:06Speaker 2: with the other hand and it turns into a blue lightsaber,
- 47:09Speaker 2: and he has a red and a blue one. This
- 47:11Speaker 2: is showing that he is still fighting the inner demons
- 47:15Speaker 2: plus the light side that's inside of him, which I
- 47:17Speaker 2: do really appreciate. That's really really cool. And then I, uh,
- 47:26Speaker 2: what did you think about the absolute insanity of what's
- 47:35Speaker 2: his name? Oh gosh, what's his name? Vv of a
- 47:40Speaker 2: Vane basically saying, hey, Anakin got burnt to a crisp
- 47:48Speaker 2: and then he became a complete badass. So you need
- 47:52Speaker 2: to be burnt into a to a crisp and then
- 47:54Speaker 2: you will be a true I don't like again, this
- 47:59Speaker 2: dude is completely mentally ill. Guys. He has been stuck
- 48:03Speaker 2: on this planet for freaking decades and he was literally ill.
- 48:10Speaker 2: He had a sickness basically space cancer before he had
- 48:17Speaker 2: to manipulate him getting into this of course mechanized suit
- 48:22Speaker 2: and all of that stuff. So like, he is clearly unwell.
- 48:26Speaker 2: We've known this before.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Yeah, And you see that in like Charlestol's Vader Run
- 48:32Speaker 3: in particular, but also his Star Wars Run a little bit.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Vonne is just very creepy, and I love the ending here,
- 48:43Speaker 3: Like I feel like the ending is what I needed
- 48:46Speaker 3: for Bonnet, Like you want to burn to a you
- 48:49Speaker 3: want to burn other people to a crisp here, Why
- 48:52Speaker 3: don't you go burn to a crisp instead? Like I
- 48:55Speaker 3: love that irony there, and it's super good art. What
- 49:01Speaker 3: did you think when Kaylo's running off after Vane, after
- 49:07Speaker 3: the back to tower and all of those death Troopers
- 49:11Speaker 3: are basically there, which I love that connection that the
- 49:14Speaker 3: death Troopers are there after what we see in in
- 49:19Speaker 3: the Mandalorian Like I love that connection play there. But
- 49:23Speaker 3: he grabs a Jedi lightsaber.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Yes, and it turns green, but then.
- 49:29Speaker 3: There's flashes of red as he's fighting, Like there's green here,
- 49:33Speaker 3: and then it turns red. But then both of these
- 49:36Speaker 3: panels are red here and then we turn the next page,
- 49:41Speaker 3: but then you see it crack like he's then you
- 49:45Speaker 3: see the slowly Yeah, he's slowly bleeding the lightsaber in
- 49:49Speaker 3: those scenes.
- 49:50Speaker 2: I feel like, now my question is where was this
- 49:56Speaker 2: lightsaber in the Rise of Skywalker? You know.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Again, because I think it's mainly because he's just kind
- 50:05Speaker 3: of choosing a weapon there.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just the fact that it was the
- 50:09Speaker 2: closest thing around to help.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yeah, he still wants his personal lightsaber when it all
- 50:18Speaker 2: comes to an end.
- 50:19Speaker 3: So going back to your opening question, because I never
- 50:23Speaker 3: really answered that.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Okay, I love the art in.
- 50:28Speaker 3: This, particularly Luke Ross's work. I love how he does
- 50:35Speaker 3: Grandia the Order sixty six Jedi Survivor, and I love
- 50:40Speaker 3: that story that Soul tells in that. Like, I wish
- 50:44Speaker 3: this was the final issue of the first volume, just
- 50:48Speaker 3: so that story got closed off.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say so it's complete, because it's
- 50:52Speaker 2: a little weird that it like ends at the very
- 50:54Speaker 2: beginning of this.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but I also thought her at the end of
- 51:00Speaker 3: that issue where something's like taking over her, did we
- 51:03Speaker 3: ever get an answer to this where she's like, Luke
- 51:06Speaker 3: Skywalker is dead, like.
- 51:10Speaker 2: She is manipulating that she's not dead. She's not dead,
- 51:16Speaker 2: That's what that's the assumption that I made. The assumption
- 51:19Speaker 2: that I made is she is so powerful in the
- 51:23Speaker 2: Force and she has mastered the Jedi mind tricks so
- 51:28Speaker 2: well that this is an illusion, just like Luke played
- 51:33Speaker 2: on Kilo.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Ooh, yeah, you're right, because she totally gets slashed through.
- 51:40Speaker 4: Here, she gets slashed through that her.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Body right here is in pieces, but it's not. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:47Speaker 3: you're totally right.
- 51:49Speaker 8: I believe that it is an illusion that she plays
- 51:56Speaker 8: on Kilo and.
- 52:00Speaker 2: We know that Luke Skywalker is dead. She is very
- 52:04Speaker 2: powerful in the force. She would know that Luke is dead,
- 52:08Speaker 2: and so she is basically, you know, saying, hey, Kylo,
- 52:11Speaker 2: this thing that you keep chasing, he's dead. Bro Let
- 52:15Speaker 2: it be like just go do you like, do something else?
- 52:20Speaker 2: You're gonna be consumed by this hate, which again that's
- 52:23Speaker 2: what dark Side users are wanting anyway. But still it's
- 52:28Speaker 2: just like this was her forewarning, like, hey, Luke is
- 52:31Speaker 2: dead whatever, right, And with the fact that the very
- 52:37Speaker 2: next page is him in an empty street like the
- 52:43Speaker 2: there's a panel right before and he's like whoa what
- 52:46Speaker 2: and then he just screams out of anger, I think
- 52:49Speaker 2: that is confirmation that she was never there, or at
- 52:53Speaker 2: least she got away from him.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I would agree now that you say that that makes
- 52:59Speaker 3: a lot more sense. She did something. She must have
- 53:02Speaker 3: done something very similar to what she did to thirteenth
- 53:06Speaker 3: Sister and ninth Sister, which I love that the thirteenth
- 53:08Speaker 3: Sister was in here.
- 53:10Speaker 2: Now, I do have to say there's a probably a
- 53:15Speaker 2: little bit of continuity air with thirteenth and night Sister
- 53:19Speaker 2: here because of everything that happened, of course in the
- 53:27Speaker 2: Vader Run as well as well.
- 53:32Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't think so, because.
- 53:35Speaker 2: I was going to say the GENI survivor Calcasis, Yeah,
- 53:40Speaker 2: I was going to see because wasn't it also in
- 53:45Speaker 2: Vader's Run or was it just calcasts that chopped off thirteen.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Sister's arm, ninth Sister's arm?
- 53:53Speaker 2: Ninth sisters? Sorry?
- 53:57Speaker 3: So, so I know everybody likes to think that Souls
- 54:05Speaker 3: Vader Run takes place only in the first year of
- 54:13Speaker 3: only in the first year after Revenge of the Sith.
- 54:16Speaker 3: This has that thirteenth Sister actually died fourteen bby so
- 54:23Speaker 3: five years after Revenge of the Sith. So there's plenty
- 54:27Speaker 3: of time. I feel like for uh, this too have occurred.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Let's ninth sister.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Yeah, so so Darth Vader does I remember this. Darth
- 54:41Speaker 2: Vader cuts off her arm, her cuts off her right arm,
- 54:47Speaker 2: and then Calcastus cuts off the prosthetic of the right arm.
- 54:52Speaker 2: So I think that as long as we see some
- 55:01Speaker 2: sort of like metal esque or prosthetic.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Everything is good, yeah, because it Night's Sister dies in
- 55:11Speaker 3: nine B B y. Yeah, that's a real arm.
- 55:22Speaker 2: So this must have taken place prior to the training
- 55:26Speaker 2: session then, which was in Charles Soul's run.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I think you're misremembering because I see this one after
- 55:52Speaker 3: the training session. I see, I'll share my screen. Oh,
- 56:03Speaker 3: I hang on at this age, there's an arm. There's
- 56:09Speaker 3: an arm, and this is after the training session. I
- 56:16Speaker 3: think it was her eye?
- 56:20Speaker 2: Was it her eye?
- 56:24Speaker 3: Because yeah, this is this is for solution. She's got
- 56:28Speaker 3: both arms. You miss remembering, maybe I am you definitely misremembering.
- 56:40Speaker 3: I think it was her eye.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Okay, but yeah there there I knew nine Sister has
- 56:54Speaker 2: gone through it. Okay, she has gone through it. So
- 57:02Speaker 2: and again I'm not the I'm not trying to nitpick
- 57:06Speaker 2: with stuff. It's just like I like randomly remember these
- 57:09Speaker 2: things when I'm reading it and I'm like, hey, wait
- 57:10Speaker 2: a second, is that a prosthetic arm? You know, So
- 57:15Speaker 2: just random things like that. But like this character, like
- 57:19Speaker 2: I want to know more about her. I want to
- 57:22Speaker 2: know more. I think she's cool. The fact that she is,
- 57:25Speaker 2: the fact that she legitimately let go of everything. She
- 57:29Speaker 2: threw her lightsaber at the bottom of a freaking ocean
- 57:33Speaker 2: and then uh completely just gave up anything having to
- 57:38Speaker 2: do with Jedi. There we go. There it is. Yeah,
- 57:43Speaker 2: got stabbed in the eye by Vader. That's right, that's right.
- 57:46Speaker 2: So I do think that like this character within itself,
- 57:53Speaker 2: Like she used, like you said, the Jedi mind trick
- 57:58Speaker 2: on the sisters, convincing them that she had incinerated basically
- 58:04Speaker 2: in the fire, and even Darth Vader was like, was
- 58:07Speaker 2: there a body? And they're like, no, she was burned
- 58:11Speaker 2: to a Christ where we guarantee it like she is God.
- 58:17Speaker 2: So again, you know that she is powerful enough in
- 58:21Speaker 2: the force to completely manipulate these people. And you know,
- 58:29Speaker 2: we've seen that, you know, people dealing with the dark
- 58:32Speaker 2: Side are not as strong willed as others, and that
- 58:39Speaker 2: Jedi mind tricks happened to only work on the weak minded.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Now saying that, I feel like Kylo is weak minded
- 58:47Speaker 3: in this instant though, because he's so by his emotion.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Yes, I was gonna ask you right here, is that
- 58:58Speaker 2: who I think it is?
- 59:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that's watto.
- 59:02Speaker 2: I feel like that's motto, which I think is hilarious
- 59:06Speaker 2: because in the Phantom Menace, Qui Gon is unable yep
- 59:13Speaker 2: to use his Jedi mind trick, and she specifically says,
- 59:17Speaker 2: I tested myself, sought out individuals known to be resistant
- 59:21Speaker 2: in the technique, and she was able to manipulate Watto.
- 59:29Speaker 3: So I thought that was cool, and that just goes
- 59:31Speaker 3: to show practice makes perfect, y'all. Yeah, like, yeah, keep
- 59:37Speaker 3: at it basically. But I loved all of the art
- 59:43Speaker 3: in this. I do think I enjoyed uh Ross's art
- 59:47Speaker 3: just a little bit more so. But Stefano's is incredible
- 59:53Speaker 3: as well, Like this detail on Kyler Rinn after the
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: back to tank, like all of those scrapes and like
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: lightsaber marks, Like that's a shot right there, Like that
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: truly is a shot.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: How did you How did you react? How did you
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: react to the Dark Side users? Because we are also
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: introduced to Rava.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: I think her name is uh uh Tava.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Tava Tava wren uh. She is, the way she explains it,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: touched by the Shadow, that's what they right, which.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Is the Wren's.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Name for the force for the force. But Kylo Wrenn
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: is legitimately attacked by basically the Dark Side in his
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: own vision and he steps out of Vader's little capsule
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: completely bloodied, torn and ripped, like yep, I was. I
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: was like, holy crap, that's really cool.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Yeah it was. It's a nightmare almost in that sense.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: But it's really well done by Soul and the artists
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: of that issue to articulate what the heck is actually
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: going on, because that's wild. That really is, like that
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: you were just like blatantly gotten, like the dark Side
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: said you had lost faith. I'm going to punish you now,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: and that's the end of it.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Like what what that's scary?
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Like literally the embodiment of the dark Side literally attacks
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: you and actually gives you like physical harm. That is
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: pretty intense. Yeah, we haven't really seen that before. So
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: to see that there is actual like repercussions, physical reproduct,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: physical recovery. I can't say the word, but like for
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: him to actually be in danger by the actual physical
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: embodiment of the force is pretty frightening. And again it
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: goes into the parts like and this is kind of
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: this is one thing that I kind of hate about
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: the fact that like Star Wars could be so fantastical
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: and supernatural and they only dip their toes in it,
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: they only like show you a little bit of it
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: and then they move back from it.
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: And that's what I was hoping for with Mangold's movie,
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: was to dit more pose than that, because I feel
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: like Men is the person to do that. Obviously, we
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: don't know if we're ever going to get that movie now,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: but Tava Wrenn the Knights of Wren was probably the
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: only thing that I was disappointed in this comic for
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I was really hoping that this comic told us why
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: the Knights of Wren all of a sudden come back
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: and rise of Skywalker does not tell us a thing.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: I needed that connection piece. I know that doesn't really explore.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: That is probably not what Soul was going for when
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: writing this comic, because he wanted to tie in Vader
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: and he wanted to tie in Kyler Wren and tie
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: those two things together. That story does not fit in here,
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: but I don't I was gonna say, I don't get
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: why the Knights of Ren are in here. Otherwise I
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: do get it. It's because you need to showcase a
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: little bit more of Kyler Wrin's actually with the Rens,
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: but then also keep him down the path and so
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Tava coming in to attack him on his home base.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Ship articulates that part forward, So I do get why
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: they're here.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: I was just.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Hoping for a little bit more, and I think that's
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: because Marvel has limited the run. Like I thought this
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: is gonna be an ongoing run. This is not an
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: ongoing run. This run is over.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Yeah, this is the end of it right here. That
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: what we what we just finished. I don't know if
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I ever told you this, but like Rilo fans were
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Railo sorry. Rail fans were sorry. So like they were
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: both like hating on this part of the Knights of
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Friends story but also loving it at the same time.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: They hate it because they kissed right, like, oh my god,
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: the cass bar, but like they were eating up the
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: fact that Kylo's number one reaction after the kiss was
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: this woman needs to die and like completely just like
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: told the entire ship, Hey, there's this woman. She has
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: red hair, she's an all black kill her on site.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: How did you feel about her? Like kind of playing
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: the seductive type. But also I feel like it was
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: more so to get out of the situation that she
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: was kind of finding herself in. I think she was
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: the boots that she was trying to fill were a
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: little too big in my opinion for the situation that arose.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: I think that if we were to get like a
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: small mini series or a one shot kind of elaborating
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: the relationship between her and the a friend, I think
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: it could build some of her character, but kind of
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: getting what we got introducing her with like trying to
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: get into this vault, them getting overrun, and then her
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: being like, oh, y'all are still, you know, loyal to
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: this Kylo Rinn. Well, I'm going to go kill him
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: and then y'all will be loyal to me. Like, nothing
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: really came of that, so, like, I would like to
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: see either what happens after or kind of how they
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: got introduced, like genuinely, because they didn't really show that
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: it was only a flashback with certain parts.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree that there's more to expand there. However,
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: I would like that one. As much as I enjoy
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Charlesoul's writing. I want to see we have a female
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: night of Wrinn for the first time. I want to
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: see a female write that story as somebody basically coming
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: into it fresh. I think that would be better off
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: in the.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Lie I I would be totally down with either Delilah
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Dawson going in there and writing her or ope, right
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: of my tongue, Dr Lydia Kang, Lydia Kang. I mean, yeah,
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: we've been asking for Lydia King to come back to
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Star Wars ever since Phase two of High Republic, and
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: she did say she was working on something, but we
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: still haven't seen anything from her.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: I think it was just the short stories for Star
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: Wars Insider is all that was, because she and Grace
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: split those. Yeah, which, by the way, that's coming out soon.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: I need to get my copy of that because I
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: have the other two and Star Wars Insiders coming to
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: a close.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: That's sad, Yes it is, Yes it is. Titan did
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: announce that they are no longer publishing Star Wars Insider.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Such a sad day.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but with the comic, I really enjoyed this as
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: a whole. Other than the Knights of Ring Park, this
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: is a very good story. I do believe Saul told
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: the story that he wanted to tell and really knocked
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: it out of the park like he always does.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. I think that this was very well
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: thought out. It was very fun. I think just the
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: happenstance of everything that came out about the Ben Solo
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: stuff just kind of put fuel to the fire on
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: these sales for this book near the very end, which
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: is probably really well for Charles and Star Wars as
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: a whole. But yeah, I really did enjoy this. Of course,
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: if anything were to happen with that whole thing, I
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: would love, absolutely love to know if Charles Soul would
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: ever kind of go back to Disney Lucasfilm and be like, Hey,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: if you're gonna do a Ben Solo movie, you should
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: read this story called the Legacy of Darth Vader. Yeah,
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: you know, I think that would be really really funny because.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: He's a contributor to the story group now, so I
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: feel like that would definitely be a thing.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: But like also like I feel like the man is
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: pretty humble, so like I don't want him to just
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: be like, well, you know, I did write something the
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Legacy Invader. But like, one thing that we didn't really
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: touch up on, which I do think is a really
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: important part of this entire Volume two is the Final Fight.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: And the final fight is literally between yeah, Ben Solo
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: and Kylo Rinn and kind of bringing to light the like, hey, like.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: The conflict that he's feeling with all this stuff.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: That you're fighting over. It's not You're not trying to
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: kill Luke Skywalker, You're not trying to become the Darth Vader.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: You're just trying to kill me off. And so, like,
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: I think that within itself is a very fun and
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: complex thing that can be elaborated on.
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, if you were to.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Expand with something with Ben solo.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: It was a good articulation of the inner conflict that
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Ben is having like in the story right now, and
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: just kind of goes to show like what he was
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: really trying to accomplish with, Oh, I must be more
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: like Vader. No, you really just want solace in the
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: fact that Vader was truly a dark guy when realistically,
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: at the end of it the light and so can
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: you at the end of this, because like Ben came
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: out in the Last Jedi with the conversations with Ray
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: and Ray saw that Spark and Ray pushed at it
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: and said come back, yeah, and he did.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, very very fun, very very cool stuff. But yeah, guys,
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: I think that is going to be it for the episode,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: just over an hour this week. Of course, you can
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: always find me at Fanboy. Clay on any and all
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: social media. I will uh oh so humbly ask you
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: guys to please go follow Volume Comics. I went on
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: my first business trip to Chicago Comic Con. Talk to
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: a lot of people is not for the faint of heart.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Owning a business and uh, doing a hustle can be
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: very very hard. And uh, that showed it. It was.
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: It was.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: It was sometimes not fun, but it was also like
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: really really fun. When when when the fun stuff happened
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: and the really good conversations happened, it was really really fun.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: So go follow Volume Comics on uh Instagram and on threads,
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: and we are, uh, we're we're we're moving forward with
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: a lot of things, and so I'm hoping that we're
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: you know, gonna make even more big moves in the future.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: But yeah, that is all for me. Of course, you
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: can always find me also at Ranger Alliance over here
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: on the network of gigles an alliance. Me and Jake
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: we've kind of been in this weird groove of like
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: every other week and it's just because of like conflicting schedules,
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: but it seems to also work out just like within
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: every other week thing. So I might be moving the
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: schedule to every other week. I'm not entirely sure yet,
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: But Katie, what about you?
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Before I say that, I did just want to point
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: out to people that the Phase three Star Wars Insider
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: collection of the Higher Republic short stories will be out
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: June thirtieth of this year, and it's called The High
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Republic Survivors of the Storm Wall and it was Lydia kang,
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: Alyssa Long and Jake Lent Davies. So if you're interested
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: in those stories, that is when it will be out.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: I can't hit pre order right now because I'm trying
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: to move, so I'm not pre ordering things basically. But y'all,
