- 0:09Speaker 2: How you guys going fantastic, wonderful, excellent? How has good
- 0:14Speaker 2: Things treated you guys so far?
- 0:16Speaker 3: Very well?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Good, fantastic, fantastic. Is there an.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Aussie festival moment from this time or another OSSI festival
- 0:24Speaker 2: moment that will stick with you guys forever?
- 0:30Speaker 4: People we were with Garbage, No, that was that was
- 0:33Speaker 4: very cool because she she knew her name very she
- 0:37Speaker 4: said it beautiful, and so that when when people know
- 0:40Speaker 4: you and it's not like, oh.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You're in and they're like she's like your palor oh my,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm like my wife.
- 0:46Speaker 4: My wife used to hide their her their cassette teams
- 0:49Speaker 4: when she when she loved grew up in a religious family,
- 0:51Speaker 4: so that was like her only cassette tape yet. So
- 0:54Speaker 4: it was like, yeah, I told her that story.
- 0:59Speaker 3: What a huge moment.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Did you get a photo with them at like?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Butch makes like let's take a photo, like.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I won't say no, Jesus wow. And over the years
- 1:10Speaker 2: your sound has evolved quite a bit. How would you
- 1:12Speaker 2: say the band's musical journey has reflected your personal growth?
- 1:17Speaker 5: I think I think it's just shaping the idea you know,
- 1:20Speaker 5: we started off I was about eighteen.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I'm twenty nine now and we've just been on tour.
- 1:25Speaker 5: And when it started off in like a basement when
- 1:27Speaker 5: I was sixteen, and that was like the origin of
- 1:30Speaker 5: like an empty canvas, and we could just we were
- 1:33Speaker 5: like Jackson Pollock.
- 1:34Speaker 1: We were just throwing shit on the canvas, you know.
- 1:36Speaker 5: And now we've throughout the years we've become more refined
- 1:39Speaker 5: and the people we worked with and this new album
- 1:41Speaker 5: that we're working with, I'm working on us with one
- 1:43Speaker 5: of our best friends, our producer, Chris Garotti, and he's
- 1:46Speaker 5: refined us not only as gentlemen, but as artists as
- 1:49Speaker 5: well as musicians.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And we've become up much more proficient.
- 1:53Speaker 5: And then there's like time also to throw away all
- 1:55Speaker 5: that proficiency and just create. So I don't know, it's
- 1:59Speaker 5: a give and take.
- 2:00Speaker 4: We recorded we wrote this record in the Netherlands and
- 2:02Speaker 4: a windmill, so you know, typical Palai things, and had
- 2:09Speaker 4: a hot up.
- 2:10Speaker 3: It was.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I don't blame it.
- 2:13Speaker 4: We rented this We rented this house in San Diego
- 2:15Speaker 4: and it's called the ten million Dollar House, and we're
- 2:18Speaker 4: in there like we're way over our heads in this house.
- 2:19Speaker 4: But it was the best songs you broke. I'm like,
- 2:22Speaker 4: we're we're still.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I can imagine we didn't spend ten millions.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Five ten million, I would not do Maybe I would
- 2:28Speaker 4: have still run. But yeah, there's sick.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It's really cool.
- 2:34Speaker 4: A lot of a lot of as we call it,
- 2:37Speaker 4: psychedelic preschool.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah, everywhere in studios, we.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Just like set up wherever maybe.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So obviously environment plays a huge pot when you're creating.
- 2:50Speaker 5: I'm obsessed with architecture, so I'm a big believer in
- 2:52Speaker 5: the architecture that you existed and subconsciously and consciously influences
- 2:56Speaker 5: how you act and react.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Yeah, the Fever Dream era was like during the pin
- 3:00Speaker 4: so we really couldn't do go anywhere.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So that was the first time we started doing like
- 3:05Speaker 1: the Bastards era.
- 3:05Speaker 4: We rode in the desert, which became we thought we
- 3:08Speaker 4: were gonna be so angry.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But you thought it was gonna be like you.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Know, when you think Joshua Tree, you're thinking the desert
- 3:14Speaker 4: not peaceful. But the Bastard's record came out with it
- 3:17Speaker 4: was just hot heat and you're this standalone house, and
- 3:21Speaker 4: so we took that concept of Fever Dreammember like no
- 3:23Speaker 4: more desert. Let's go to the beach and that was
- 3:26Speaker 4: amazing time. And then the Netherlands and.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You know, because everyone says to go to the desert,
- 3:31Speaker 2: don't they.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, well we grew up. Yeah, so we want a
- 3:39Speaker 1: little bit more peace in our life.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 4: The castle, Yeah, the next one's a castle for sure. Beautiful.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's awesome And your fans, fans are incredibly dedicated and creative.
- 3:50Speaker 2: What's the coolest thing a fan has given you?
- 3:53Speaker 5: Uh, there's so many our pieces a number of months ago,
- 3:57Speaker 5: but they did this really beautiful huge portions in my
- 4:00Speaker 5: house of me and our like each one of us
- 4:02Speaker 5: with our mother, and I like, I saw her standing
- 4:05Speaker 5: in line, she was like short, and then I was like,
- 4:09Speaker 5: what you got if.
- 4:10Speaker 1: She turns it, I started falling. I'm gonna stuck cry.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It was beautiful, Like.
- 4:15Speaker 5: There's certain things I think at that moment in my life,
- 4:17Speaker 5: I needed you.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, everyone was in tears.
- 4:23Speaker 2: I could imagine it would have been been the biggest
- 4:26Speaker 2: on October as well for you guys.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Sweet energy within our fan base.
- 4:31Speaker 4: It's very I was saying yesterday, and we've all grown
- 4:36Speaker 4: up together. Yeah, I do have to say, it's like,
- 4:39Speaker 4: you know, when you're proud of your kids. I feel
- 4:41Speaker 4: like with our fans, I'm proud that they turned out
- 4:43Speaker 4: really cool, you know what I mean? Like they're the
- 4:45Speaker 4: shows that are so respectful when something goes wrong.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Every band that ever opens us to helpens up for us.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Like your fans are the nicest or so receptive, and
- 4:52Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm glad they're trained well because just sometimes
- 4:54Speaker 4: when we opened up for bands and it was fucking
- 4:57Speaker 4: nightmare positivity. But we're positive, yes, but we're happy.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Our fans are very kind of that's lovely. And is
- 5:05Speaker 1: there any band on the line up you've discovered at
- 5:08Speaker 1: the moment post?
- 5:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's from said it's Outhern every but it's like
- 5:14Speaker 4: we are suggested similar artists on Spotify. It's like young
- 5:17Speaker 4: Blood and that we should do something.
- 5:21Speaker 1: That's That's the one show I have watched because they played.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Wonderful.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And is there any band you'd love to collab with
- 5:32Speaker 2: either musically or create tipt creatively.
- 5:36Speaker 1: At that earth Fustl or just general in general? In general?
- 5:40Speaker 1: I think we always like we did a show with Monaskin.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I thought that was really great. That was good for
- 5:46Speaker 1: a culture thing.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I think if it came to like having a someone
- 5:50Speaker 4: on our music like feature wise, I I don't know.
- 5:55Speaker 4: There's like yeah or like Lona del Ray sick, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 4: but then there's like would never happen means they're way
- 6:03Speaker 4: too cool, Like the Geese is really sick.
- 6:07Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:07Speaker 4: There's like our idol, but Empires of the Empire the
- 6:12Speaker 4: song being really close with it could be a thing.
- 6:14Speaker 1: We're planting the seats with Empire.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Of the Sun. Come on, it's going to happen.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can take.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Me for that, right right, yes, beautiful And what's next
- 6:25Speaker 2: for you guys?
- 6:26Speaker 4: Well, yeah, save nobody records about eighty nine Throat, So
- 6:31Speaker 4: we we did it during the summer. We did three
- 6:33Speaker 4: writing trips and then had recorded very fast paced with it,
- 6:37Speaker 4: and Redminson put out two songs for the intermission, as
- 6:40Speaker 4: we say, between Jefford Glory and to the New Era.
- 6:43Speaker 1: So those are great to have out so you know,
- 6:45Speaker 1: fill the space right now and then with the.
- 6:46Speaker 5: Festival shows and then we're planning some like experiential stuff
- 6:50Speaker 5: for next year and then launching our clothing rand Avangar Society.
- 6:54Speaker 1: There we make all our suits, so you might as
- 6:56Speaker 1: well do it.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, please make it available here.
- 6:59Speaker 1: That's the plan.
- 7:00Speaker 5: We wanted to do it like in person events February
- 7:05Speaker 5: and then we'll roll it out.
- 7:06Speaker 4: To the well wicked and then we have one little
- 7:10Speaker 4: it's a back pocket moment. That's going to be standing
- 7:12Speaker 4: on business, my business.
- 7:16Speaker 2: You know, yes, I don't know, but how sure, father,
- 7:25Speaker 2: I'm standing on that's punk wrong, standing on business?
- 7:30Speaker 1: So punk rock?
- 7:31Speaker 2: What's your secret to never aging?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Both of you? Excuse me? What the hell?
- 7:35Speaker 3: I there?
- 7:36Speaker 1: And you make a palette called death palette.
- 7:39Speaker 5: It comes out later.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I very much. I've always so much. I drinched so
- 7:45Speaker 1: much water by a hydration I run. I just do
- 7:49Speaker 1: a k like.
- 7:52Speaker 2: More.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I'm running a marathon because I have some time before
- 7:54Speaker 4: my flight. It's not a marathon. Take the but I
- 8:02Speaker 4: but honestly, ice fass steams saunas running drinking water and
- 8:08Speaker 4: drink if you need a drink.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Dress. Yeah, you don't see me.
- 8:12Speaker 4: And I'm doing like my shocker meditation now like it's
- 8:14Speaker 4: like I send myself.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Out, you know, so I think, like I said, And
- 8:18Speaker 5: the other one that Marcus Relia said is there's levels
- 8:20Speaker 5: of that magnification and we spend our single consciousness focused hyper.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Presumed on this.
- 8:27Speaker 5: You zoom out and you look at all the chaos
- 8:29Speaker 5: and the war and destruction within your inner.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Cellf it's harmony, you know.
- 8:32Speaker 5: And if you're able to like have that moment and
- 8:34Speaker 5: identify that all of this, you know, life's not coming
- 8:38Speaker 5: at you, it's.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Coming within you.
- 8:40Speaker 4: And I think you know out of all of that,
- 8:42Speaker 4: you can do so much with like self reflection. But
- 8:44Speaker 4: your environment is the hugest thing of who you are,
- 8:47Speaker 4: and I think it is.
- 8:48Speaker 1: It's like, I have.
- 8:49Speaker 4: A beautiful home environment with my wife, my daughter, and
- 8:52Speaker 4: I daughter now Mishka got my little baby dog. But
- 8:57Speaker 4: but you know, it's like doing big things in my
- 8:59Speaker 4: life that I'm like preparing for. It's like I just
- 9:01Speaker 4: you know, my wife just froze embryos and like doing
- 9:04Speaker 4: that whole journey and just keeping the family together. Because
- 9:07Speaker 4: you know, life goes fast and so all of the
- 9:10Speaker 4: minuscal things in life aren't that big of a deal
- 9:13Speaker 4: when you lose someone so close to you. So when
- 9:15Speaker 4: losing our mom, it's like a perspective of thing that
- 9:18Speaker 4: the light in my life isn't as bright as it
- 9:21Speaker 4: used to be.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But I do appreciate all.
- 9:23Speaker 4: The moments a little bit more, you know, because I
- 9:25Speaker 4: wasn't appreciating it at the time, even though I already
- 9:28Speaker 4: talked to my mom all the time. But now that
- 9:29Speaker 4: that person that's so prevalent or was so prevalent in
- 9:33Speaker 4: my life is.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Gone, it's just like, you gotta be kind.
- 9:36Speaker 4: We've always been trying to be kind as best we can,
- 9:38Speaker 4: but it's like treat others.
- 9:39Speaker 5: You want to be treated, and I enjoy who you are. Sorry, personally,
- 9:44Speaker 5: like losing our superhero, you know. And then, as God
- 9:48Speaker 5: would have it, falling in love with a beautiful, incredible,
- 9:50Speaker 5: strong woman I called me on my bullshit and how
- 9:53Speaker 5: to grow up and become a man. So it was
- 9:56Speaker 5: the first time in my life because I've been doing
- 9:57Speaker 5: that's my whole life.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that I like slowed down and became a human being. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 10:02Speaker 1: I don't.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Falling in love is a hell of a thing, and
- 10:05Speaker 5: I'm very grateful.
- 10:06Speaker 1: For that, definitely.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I just want to say this will probably get cut
- 10:09Speaker 2: out of the interview as well, but I lost my
- 10:10Speaker 2: mum when I was really no. No, I'm sorry for you
- 10:13Speaker 2: guys too. And the thing, as sad as it is,
- 10:17Speaker 2: like the thing it taught me so much about life
- 10:19Speaker 2: and about slowing down like.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Everything yeah, or it starts off not feeling anything, yes,
- 10:27Speaker 5: and then yeah, and then a year ages back and
- 10:29Speaker 5: you're like Jesus Christ, things are moving.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It crazy which non musical influencers have shaped your sound
- 10:39Speaker 2: that fans may not expand.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Alan wants straight up, Alan.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Wants shaped my existence and Buck mister Fuller love that
- 10:47Speaker 5: guy too.
- 10:48Speaker 4: For me, honestly, running has been such like a grounding
- 10:53Speaker 4: thing for me, Like I don't know, I feel like
- 10:55Speaker 4: it's it's taught me so much that you can't blame
- 10:58Speaker 4: any anything or anyone but side yourself. So that's the
- 11:02Speaker 4: thing that it's like when it comes to creation, I think,
- 11:05Speaker 4: you know, that's been huge.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Obviously, fashion and our beast has always been troubling in
- 11:08Speaker 1: our bear.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's a you know, that's definitely I don't
- 11:12Speaker 4: know that and like a good a good meal, a
- 11:16Speaker 4: good company, the.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Things, you know, appreciating the sun slow down.
- 11:23Speaker 4: That's why I I just moved to Amsterdam and that's
- 11:26Speaker 4: been like a huge thing of like I spent the
- 11:29Speaker 4: summer there and just how they l a is so
- 11:32Speaker 4: chaotic and it was.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Great fortal wise, I will never ship talk it.
- 11:37Speaker 5: I made that move on his own, him over there,
- 11:40Speaker 5: so he did the hard work and then I was
- 11:42Speaker 5: just like.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Over But it's they the way they live life.
- 11:47Speaker 4: It's just I don't know. It was right out of a sitcom.
- 11:51Speaker 4: The house we bought, there's across the street they owned.
- 11:54Speaker 4: The family owned a bar. So we went in there
- 11:56Speaker 4: and everyone alreading us in the bar like you my god,
- 11:59Speaker 4: everyone's givings. I'm like, I've never met my fucking neighbor,
- 12:02Speaker 4: and now you know what I like and just to
- 12:04Speaker 4: see the warmth and I.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Like riding a bike and walking everywhere.
- 12:08Speaker 4: And it's just like that, You're like, oh, I thought
- 12:12Speaker 4: like I my life peaked and like I'm like this
- 12:14Speaker 4: is it, you know, And now I'm like.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Oh, it's not all weird and ship.
- 12:23Speaker 4: So it's it's like, I don't know. It's like you
- 12:25Speaker 4: try to amount to be appreciative.
- 12:27Speaker 3: So that says.
- 12:29Speaker 5: If you don't travel, it's like reading one page out
- 12:32Speaker 5: of the book the book of like, you know, travel,
- 12:35Speaker 5: you become a different person based off of where you go.
- 12:37Speaker 5: So if I can suggest anything, go travel, even if
- 12:39Speaker 5: it's you're pitching honnies.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And call your mom if you can.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yes, yes, what's a memory you'll take home from this tour?
- 12:50Speaker 1: Last question, Well, we've been creating, honestly, just out of them,
- 12:54Speaker 1: love them. Uh yeah, we're Alvan Garz Society. Yeah no,
- 12:59Speaker 1: you know that.
- 13:00Speaker 3: That and.
- 13:02Speaker 1: That's no.
- 13:04Speaker 4: We we had a good Chinese meal, yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Hell yeah, a sucular one that was good.
- 13:11Speaker 4: And then yeah, I flew so many hours to get here.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I okay, so like shut up.
- 13:19Speaker 5: We almost didn't get on the plane today.
- 13:20Speaker 1: There was internal debates.
- 13:22Speaker 5: Oh so the fact that we're even here, well, thank you.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Of course you got to do it for the fants,
- 13:28Speaker 1: for your ship aside, So.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Thank you guys so much, thank you so much.
- 13:34Speaker 3: You like you, dang. I want to feel that so much.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Toils love, miss the love and the new texts
