  Speaker 1: I guess starting out, I would love to know. So

  Speaker 1: you were on Bachelor Paradise season three, you walked away engaged,

  Speaker 1: so you were one of the engaged couples, and so

  Speaker 1: when they asked you to be on this current season,

  Speaker 1: was it an easy yes? Was it? Was it a

  Speaker 1: was kind of an easy yes. But I was scared

  Speaker 1: myself into. Yeah, and I wouldn't know anyone and no

  Speaker 1: I think, Well, here's the thing. So many moons ago,

  Speaker 1: went on several seasons after, but not I think hers

  Speaker 1: was even more. I think it's even more removed than Lace.

  Speaker 1: years we moved from Bachelor in Paradise stuff. Actually, I'm

  Speaker 1: is where where Lace decided to go with this. I'm

  Speaker 1: not speaking for you. I'm just saying, or I'd walk

  Speaker 1: in and I would just be like, oh, I just

  Speaker 1: want to be everybody's buddy, and then I'd end up
• 7:36
  Speaker 1: being like they'd be like, oh, yeah, what's up grandpa

  Speaker 1: to me because I'm a hundred, but you're still young

  Speaker 1: and you know, I mean so I can imagine for

  Speaker 1: you it was more kind of like, you know, being

  Speaker 1: just more annoyed. I would think me annoyed. Yes, um never,

  Speaker 1: I'm just thinking maybe I would be annoying one. But no,

  Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, they're just so new to and you

  Speaker 1: know so much other stuff than them because you've been
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: there before. So you're just like, all right, they'll follow me,
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: we'll show in the ropes. And then they didn't, and
• 8:09
  Speaker 1: they didn't. I had a blasphem myself. I mean, I
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: love that. And I have to say I think the
• 8:16
  Speaker 1: whole birthday thing was freaking genius. Like no one had
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: a clue prompt you though, Like I don't even remember
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: how that came about, but it did, and I was like,
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: screw it. Even even if it was impromptu, it still
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: was genius because you were feeling like left out and
• 8:35
  Speaker 1: you know, like you weren't the rookie and and all
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: these people weren't paying any attention to you. And I
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: am really sensitive as as like in terms of my feelings,
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: and I would feel the exact same way going into it.
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: And then you throw in a birthday and you're like
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: everyone's celebrating and now I'm the center of attention. And
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: I thought it was perfect. I mean, I'm proud of it.

  Speaker 1: I definitely just wanted to step away for a minute
• 9:04
  Speaker 1: and just breathe and take a little catnap, but I
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: guess you will, but just lay there, and I was
• 9:08
  Speaker 1: just frustrated them, like, why the heck did I come back?
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: This is so silly, I'm mad over people. I don't
• 9:13
  Speaker 1: even know whatever the case is. Um, So it definitely
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: looked a little self loathing and all of that, but
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: it's okay. I just didn't want to react like um
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: in front of everyone, so I just step away for
• 9:26
  Speaker 1: a little bit. Coming back and talking to me was
• 9:29
  Speaker 1: the best thing that could have happened. So well, I
• 9:32
  Speaker 1: think the birthday, I mean, it led to the birthday
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: of what I mean, So I liked it. I I
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: gotta be honest, I don't think I would have I
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: don't think that would have ever crossed my mind to
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: do something like that. And I just love that it
• 9:47
  Speaker 1: did because for you, because I think that it's one
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: of those moments where it's like, you know, now, if
• 9:51
  Speaker 1: someone's gonna, like if one of the girls wanted to
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: be mean to you, which I know like a couple

  Speaker 1: of them were thinking about it, It's like, now, really,
• 9:56
  Speaker 1: you're gonna mean to someone on their birthday, Like honestly
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: you can kind a monster would do something like that.

  Speaker 1: And so you literally are in this great position and oh, yeah,

  Speaker 1: it's not my birthday. So I think I'm more proud
• 10:10
  Speaker 1: because no one knew it was my birthday until the show.

  Speaker 1: So I think I'm more proud that I kept a secretly,
• 10:17
  Speaker 1: Oh I love it. Okay, So um, when you were
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: in the room, like giving yourself a cat hat, taking
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: a cat nap, whatever was Let's see, how do I
• 10:27
  Speaker 1: say this? When you were on season three with Grant,
• 10:33
  Speaker 1: was part of the cat nap situation that you were
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: feeling these feelings from when you were there the first time,
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: the flashback type of thing. I think it was more
• 10:45
  Speaker 1: so like I didn't know anyone. It was hard to
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: connect with people because they're all trying to do their thing,
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: and I wasn't connecting with any guys either. Don't get
• 10:52
  Speaker 1: me wrong, everyone was really nice overall, Um, I just
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: was Yeah, I felt triggered, and so I was having
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: my own personal reactions that last time was better. This
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: time stucks. It was just so easy last time I
• 11:06
  Speaker 1: came back. This time it's hard, and I'm frustrated. So yeah,
• 11:10
  Speaker 1: maybe a little bit but not getting but yeah, just
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: being in the same place because it's the exact same
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: place exactly right, I can see that. Yeah, I can't
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: imagine how it wouldn't. Yeah, I totally I was questioning,

  Speaker 1: like should I have come back? Like am I too
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: old for this? By being dumb? I just had all

  Speaker 1: these thoughts. But it's okay, I think I think, I

  Speaker 1: think that's totally natural. Yeah, I would. I would feel
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: the same. I would. So I am the guy that

  Speaker 1: like literally second guesses everything I do. Seven anyway, So

  Speaker 1: I would have been on the plane They're going, this
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: is a horrible mistake. What am I thinking? Why am

  Speaker 1: I doing this? Landed, I'd be like, oh, hey, what's
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: the guys, and then I would think I'm having a
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: great time. Then like fifteen minutes later that would have
• 11:49
  Speaker 1: disasked her I should have never done this. So I
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: can totally get that I think. What I think is
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: interesting though, is so, how how did the producers when
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: they I know you kind of touched on this when
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: we first started talking, but how did they approach you
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: to be on this season? And what? What did they say?

  Speaker 1: That was just like the thing that was like, yeah,
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it. I couldn't tell you. It was
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: just me and Lindsay talking for over two years and um,
• 12:14
  Speaker 1: I just Linda Lindsay just for perspective, Lindsay the producer. Okay, Um,

  Speaker 1: I was talking to Lindsay Lyles the producer, and um

  Speaker 1: we had been in contact for two years, and I

  Speaker 1: remember just following up with her like, oh, I know
• 12:29
  Speaker 1: Bachelor Paradise is starting soon. And it was very short,
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: I think, just kind of short conversations. And then I
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: get a call from her when I'm at the Rockies
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: opening day and she's like, hey, are you sure you
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: don't have a boyfriend. I'm like yeah, I swear. Why.
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: She goes, do you want to go back on Paradise?
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: And I was like yeah, I can't leave you. So
• 12:56
  Speaker 1: also okay, So I would love to know when you
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: filmed it, how were you feeling about it compared to
• 13:03
  Speaker 1: when you watched it the other night. Did you watch it? Yeah?

  Speaker 1: I know I watched it. Um, I had my hood

  Speaker 1: over my head. I was just kind of like peeking out.

  Speaker 1: I'm like, oh god, um, were you nervous? Were you excited?

  Speaker 1: Were you sitting there with friends like watching this sub Yeah? Yeah.

  Speaker 1: So I was actually really nervous because that trailer that

  Speaker 1: they put out of me, I thought it was going

  Speaker 1: to be so much worse. And I was like, they're

  Speaker 1: not doing this. Oh great? Did I really say that?

  Speaker 1: And I forget you know this? You blank out out

  Speaker 1: of so many things that you say, and you're like,

  Speaker 1: oh I did say that, didn't I? Okay? And so

  Speaker 1: I was just cringing, and I'm like, I don't know

  Speaker 1: if I can watch this. But then when we watched it,

  Speaker 1: I was just laughing my ass off. Okay. Good sense

  Speaker 1: of humor is important in these shows. What was the

  Speaker 1: thing it funny? What was the thing that you were

  Speaker 1: cringing about? Hearing you say me saying, I'm this is

  Speaker 1: the pretty they've ever been, Like, you've got to be

  Speaker 1: kidding me, Like how old are we? And then I

  Speaker 1: think they're seeing me later in the bad just kind

  Speaker 1: of pouting and talking, and I kind of just kept

  Speaker 1: reiterating des like, oh, no one was talking to me.

  Speaker 1: I wish I wouldn't have said something that, But that's okay,

  Speaker 1: learning lessons, right, Yeah, I think you know, it's I mean,

  Speaker 1: I feel like Bachelor Paradise is so devious, Like I

  Speaker 1: would never last a minute on that show, because all

  Speaker 1: I mean I look at it, it's like it's like

  Speaker 1: the kind of like the Bachelor of the Bachelorette meets
• 14:34
  Speaker 1: Big Brother meets Survivor. You know, it's just it's a

  Speaker 1: it's like a it's like a cage match in my
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: head when I think about be on that hill, because
• 14:43
  Speaker 1: I'd be like, oh, you know, this girl is really

  Speaker 1: cute as you talk to her, and then meanwhile, she's

  Speaker 1: gonna be like, all right, I'm not gonna give him

  Speaker 1: my ros. I'm gonna give it to this dude because

  Speaker 1: this guy, I'll keep me around longer so I can

  Speaker 1: mess with that chick. It's just a whole the whole

  Speaker 1: mind just blows me away. I could never think. Also

  Speaker 1: feel like you get to be yourself a little more

  Speaker 1: around purpose too. Yes, right, you're not so like hi

  Speaker 1: moments in this episode that that happened to other people

  Speaker 1: or were involving other people, not necessarily you, that you

  Speaker 1: were cringing on, like saying, oh God, And you know

  Speaker 1: obviously what happens. So it's all the taped, so you

  Speaker 1: know what happens. You know what's going to come to fruition.

  Speaker 1: So is there anything that you watched that you were

  Speaker 1: cringing thinking why are they acting like that? Or what

  Speaker 1: think um the Cia, Jill, and Um Romeo. Thank you Romeo.

  Speaker 1: I struggled to say everyone's name all season. It was bad. Um.

  Speaker 1: I think that little Love Triangle was a disaster, and

  Speaker 1: it was actually very intriguing, fascinating and annoying watching Romeo

  Speaker 1: the way he was with these women. I am as

  Speaker 1: felt like I just wanted to get inside of his head,

  Speaker 1: like what are you thinking right now? Because he was
• 16:04
  Speaker 1: just trying to play all these women and it just

  Speaker 1: came to bite him and they asked so bad and

  Speaker 1: then I felt like, I don't know, Yeah, I was

  Speaker 1: wondering because I kind of got that that impression too

  Speaker 1: when he literally told Jill, um, you know, I want

  Speaker 1: to work on us. I don't want to deal with Kira.

  Speaker 1: And then Kira comes and sits down, and I'm like,

  Speaker 1: why are you telling Jill to go hang out with
• 16:28
  Speaker 1: everybody else and you're gonna sit here with Kira. Like
• 16:31
  Speaker 1: I get that, You're like, let me live in peace
• 16:34
  Speaker 1: and let me pursue this with Jill. But at the

  Speaker 1: same time, I'm like, why didn't you just be like, Okay,
• 16:38
  Speaker 1: we're gonna go hang out, see you later, Kira or whatever.

  Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, And it was weird to watch too.

  Speaker 1: And Jill, you know, she was pretty sensitive to the

  Speaker 1: whole thing, which I don't blame her, kind of rude,

  Speaker 1: and Kira came in very aggressive and yeah, I don't

  Speaker 1: know the word I'm looking for, but just very aggressive.

  Speaker 1: I think aggressive. Romeo was trying to unwind the web,

  Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like, I feel like if

  Speaker 1: this heart to heart when they when you know you've

  Speaker 1: already said that you're in the other one, it's because

  Speaker 1: you're trying to do damage control. You don't want something

  Speaker 1: to pull up on you totally. And I also think

  Speaker 1: he was trying to be the Bachelor on birthday. I

  Speaker 1: thought that's what I came off at least. Yeah, yeah, okay,

  Speaker 1: So I also want to know Chris Harrison is clearly
• 17:24
  Speaker 1: not on the show anymore. How did it feel having
• 17:28
  Speaker 1: Jesse there as opposed to Chris. I think I think

  Speaker 1: Jesse is a really good substitution. Honestly, I think it's great,

  Speaker 1: very personable. I've obviously miss Press Harrison because that was
• 17:38
  Speaker 1: the show, you know, But um, I think Jesse's a

  Speaker 1: great substitute. I really like him. I do too. Kind
